Heridas Friday Nov 24

The truck with Miranda and Gabino slides into the river.

Pamela continues to ramble in her fever. She is telling Arcadia to help Miranda, we then see Miranda in the river swimming for shore. I see Pamela is in her official hacienda working woman outfit. Now we see Gabino swimming for shore, they both got out of the truck.

Nuria is begging Bertha to go help someone, Miranda? Bertha says she can’t do anything and yells at Nuria to leave, which she does. Bertha thinks that she’ll be blamed if Miranda dies. I hope I’m interpreting this right. She rubs her forehead a lot and stresses as the storm rages outside. I think this must be the same weather as ‘that night.’ Suddenly she has a realization – Florencia’s baby will be the first grandchild of Alfredo Luque and will inherit the fortune! She always assumed that it would be Alejandro’s child that would inherit everything. I can’t figure out if this pleases her or upsets her. She just looks bugeyed and dramatic.

Miranda reaches shore and then turns around and goes back in to help Gabino. They appear to reach shore, but I’m not sure yet. We’ll find out soon enough.

Nuria is giving Flor something to drink while they listen to the weather on the radio, which is getting great reception for how bad the weather is. Flor can’t take it any more and tells Nuria to turn it off. Flor complains of more frequent contractions. They have a regular old pregger pity party. Chat chat chat, then Flor lets out a contraction induced scream.

Miranda is running up the shore with Gabino behind her, we hear Flor’s screaming over the storm. Is she that close, or is it some mental connection?

Juan opens Fern’s door and says ‘Madrina…’ but it’s Renata sitting there instead. They stare at each other while romantic music plays. They make small talk. She tells him that she’s going to start the divorce proceedings, he cries and nods, but then pulls her aside. He asks her if she’s sure, he said that he told Gonzalo that nothing would keep them apart and he meant it, they start kissing.

Lots of dramatic shots of people running in the rain, pregnant women in agony, etc. Very dramatic. Miranda appears to be letting out jungle screams as she runs.

Juan continues his little speech. They swear their love to each other but Renata says she can’t go back to his house. He says fine, but now he can rent them their own place. In the ‘hood still but their own place. He tells her about his clinic while she remembers her Smeagol/Gollum conversation in the mirror that I wrote about last week. Juan is still talking and she tells him to stop and hugs him. Is she agreeing or saying goodbye or what?

Santiago gives his same “it will all be fine” advice to Fern. They discuss what everyone is up to. They also discuss how she feels about Gonz dying, she is conflicted, she has good and bad memories. Santiago tells her that Al is a mess in jail, he’s falling apart.

Pamela is still a mess, she is in a tub and getting cold water dumpedon her. If only she were just wearing a t-shirt. She is telling Arcadia that if she doesn’t go help Miranda and something happens, it’s on her head. Arcadia isn’t believing any of it. She explains to Pamela that it might take weeks to get out after the rain stops, to let the river get back to it’s normal level. Arcadia wraps her up in a towel as she gets out of the pool. Don’t you think she needs to get out of those wet clothes? Really, she does. Trust me. Anyway, she starts to worry about Luciano and that he’ll just find her remains, not her. The storm rages on.

Fern tells Julio that he’s fine after listening to his heart. Rebeca is there too, that bitch, she goes on a long rant to Fern about how she’s worried about nothing in regards to her daughters, they have been at that hacienda for years with bad weather and always been fine, jeez Fern don’t worry, gosh you worry wart, jeez. She is very dismissive of Fern’s concern. Julio and Fern both tell her to knock it off. What’s your deal anyway, Fern asks, you used to be just rude but now you’re just cruel! Julio makes a comment that her friendship with Bertha might not be working out. Fern says that explains everything, Julio insults Rebeca again for good measure, then says he’s leaving before listening to Rebeca gives him another heart attack. Good one Julio. After he leaves Rebeca says to Fern that whenever Julio sees Fern, Julio and Rebeca start having problems. Yeah I’m sure that’s it. Rebeca tells Fern that Julio is hers, and only hers. Fern looks at her like she’s crazy, which in fact she is. Fen opens the door and kicks Rebeca out.

Vicente and Luciano are eating at a nice place, Vicente tells Luciano that SLI is losing clients. Luciano gets a phone call, it’s Al hiding in a closet or something. He says that a custodian let him borrow his cell phone, he wants to know about Miranda and the hacienda. Al tells Luciano to get a helicopter, price is no object, and look for Miranda and Flor. Luciano swears to follow the order. Vicente thinks they won’t find anyone willing to go into the storm, but they head off to the airport anyway.

The storm rages on and branches fall as Miranda reaches the house. After dramatically running halfway around the house it seems, she finally ducks behind a pillar to wait for Gabino. Showing them moving in slow motion had me waiting for something to fall on them and kill them or something like that.

Bertha talks about her realization about Flor’s baby again. Really, the exact same thing as before. In case we forgot in the last 20 minutes. Nuria comes in and says Flor is about to give birth, Bertha gives her instructions on what to do. Nuria says she can’t go down the stairs in her condition, Bertha says she is less fit herself to go! Nuria says she thinks she is starting to have her own convulsions, she really shouldn’t go down the stairs, Bertha tells her to get hot water for both Flor and her too then. Go go! Nuria looks at her in shock. Bertha says “what are you waiting for?” and Nuria finally goes.

Flor screams some more, Miranda appears. Flor says the baby is coming. Miranda gets in the receiving position and tells her to breath, all that stereotypical birthing on TV stuff. Push, breath, push breath. The whole thing is over in less than a minute, I have had more trouble taking a dump than she had delivering that baby. We hear the baby crying as the show goes to commercial.

Francisco, Amparito, Raul, and Carola discuss the storm and have coffee. The topic of Renata comes up and Carola is her usual bitchy self about it while Amparito defends her. Then they discuss how they don’t have it so bad compared to people who lose everything in a storm like this. They discuss the people out at the hacienda. Discuss discuss discuss.

Fab calls Renata from New York. He makes sure to let everyone know he isn’t American by having his shirt half unbuttoned with his waxed chest showing. I haven’t really ever seen American men doing that. He’s stuck and can’t get a flight due to the weather. Renata tells him that they are trying to get a helicopter to the hacienda, as well as all the other news, Fab is freaking out about the whole thing. He is worried about Bertha being there, Renata asks him about that, why after his kidnapping he defended her so much. He says never mind that, she is horrible and could do something with Flor or his baby. She says she’ll call him with any news. She hangs up and comments on how strange he was acting on the phone.

Flor holds the baby and cries with Miranda, whose clothes have miraculously dried while leaving her hair still sensually wet. Miranda says most of the cacao went to market, Flor says good because the plantation areas were hit the hardest. They swoon over the baby.

Cesar is talking to Bertha. Where did he come from? Bertha tells him congrats, he’s a father, he says he only cares about his baby with Miranda. In his dreams. Bertha says that it looks like Miranda will die in the storm, Cesar tells her that Miranda already came back alive and delivered Flor’s baby. What the hell? How did he find this all out? Where did he come from? Is he some phantom or something to find all this out and nobody saw him? Bertha tells him that Miranda must be exhausted, so it should be easy to knock her up. He says that he doesn’t expect that Miranda will want to be with him right now. Bertha says don’t ask permission, the important thing is to get her pregnant, it doesn’t matter by who. Bertha says that he should wait in her room and knock her out with chloroform, but Cesar says he never had to resort to that sort of thing. Finally he agrees to do something. Bertha says he should see his son, see ya, bye.

Bertha barges into Flor’s room “honey I’m here everything is ok now I’m here.” Miranda of the permanently wet hair looks at her in amazement, like ‘you have got to be kidding me.’ Miranda reproaches her for not being around to help Flor like she was supposed to be, Bertha makes excuses that nobody believes but her, then tells how Nuria’s baby was born too. A big handsome boy. Whoa I just notices – Flor is sitting up, on top of the covers, WEARING TIGHT PANTS. Didn’t she just give birth like five minutes ago? Miranda’s hair is still wet! She just gave birth, she is holding her baby for the first time still, when the hell did she put on a pair of pants that wouldn’t have fit for the last six months? She lets Bertha hold the baby, who is remarkably clean for having just being born. Miranda says she’s going to see Nuria and Bertha better not leave for anything. Nuria is all alone in her room, Miranda chats with her, they share news about Flor’s birth. As Miranda is pouring a glass of water, a shadow passes outside the doorway and dramatic music plays. Miranda calls for Gabino. Nuria is sure that it wasn’t Gabino, so Miranda searches for the gun she left in the room and leaves, comes back for a candle, then leaves again. She walks around with the gun pointed out straight in front of her but someone manages to sneak up on her and grab her anyway. We are watching the whole thing through a rainsoaked window so that we can’t see who it is. Miranda breaks free and shoots the attacker, who falls, or runs away, I couldn’t tell which. She yells “you killed my father, right? Get out of here or I’ll kill you.” Etc etc. Bertha’s voice comes in telling Miranda to stop. She tells Miranda that nobody could be here, it’s the safest place in the world. Miranda says she thought her house was too, but somebody came in and shot Gonz. Bertha says it was Al, Miranda says no. Bertha claims that she saw him do it. Miranda tells her to shut up and help her look for the guy she just shot at. Bertha says it was her imagination and won’t help. Miranda tells her to stay with Nuria, Bertha starts to whine about being tired, she had to take care of everyone, it was all her responsibility, whine whine whine. After she finishes whining, she looks down and sees blood on the floor.

EDIT: I forgot to say that after the preview for Monday's show, it said "Ultimas Semanas." Do they start doing that six weeks out? Or, perhaps, they have edited some stuff down to end sooner? This episode really moved along quickly, perhaps somebody realized how much yakking about the same thing over and over occurs.

La Fea Más Bella #153 11/24/06 They're honeymooning WHERE?

Tomas tells Alicia he will help her get the money she needs to get her car back. Alicia demurely protests that she doesn't want him to give her the money. She doesn't want to complicate their friendship that way. He says, well, then, what do you want to do? She asks if he has friends who could maybe lend it to her, with interest. (LOL. Right.) Tomas eagerly agrees to look into it.

Now she says she wants to talk, but she's actually getting very affectionate. She puts some very chaste little kisses on his mouth, then suffers a sudden attack of guilt over Lety ("my friend, my dear friend!"). She's all flustered and ashamed! She says she's confused. Tomas pulls her back into his arms and says he's a little confused too. Alicia says the evening is ruined; Tomas suggests a walk in the fresh air, but Al makes excuses that her makeup is all smeared from crying and she's sad and her conscience is weighing on her, so it'd be better if they talk tomorrow.

Tomas says he doesn't want to leave, but Alicia says she doesn't feel well. She gets into her bed and says she'll feel better when her problem is resolved. Tomas tells her not to worry, he'll have some news for her tomorrow. He rushes to her bedside (still carrying that bottle of wine he wasn't able to open), but she says goodbye and then pretends to be asleep. (She snores for good measure.) She watches from her bed as he makes his way to the door. Whenever she stops snoring, he turns around hopefully to see if she's awake, and she hurriedly closes her eyes and snores some more.

Finally he is gone. She rejoices at finally being free of him and hugs her very last bottle of wine, grateful she didn't have to waste it on him.

Is Tomas disappointed? Hells no. He dances out of her building like he is on cloud nine. He tells himself he was kissed by the most sensual woman on the planet. It wasn't a dream, it was real, they were mouth-to-mouth.

Writing in her diary, Lety says that Tomas has a right to his dream, even if it is as fleeting as what she had with Fernando. The difference is that Tomas knows what's going on.

Lety also tells her diary that she should get away from Fernando. He is continuing with his dirty game and she can't go on with it much longer. His persistance is wearing her down, and his kisses are leaving her on the edge of an abyss and in spite of everything, he seems so sincere.

Meanwhile, Marcia is at home chatting on the phone with her idiot sister, Ana-Leticia, about all the wedding preparations and how busy she's been. Fern quietly enters and hand-faces in exasperation. He kisses her (on her head) and Marcia goes on to tell her sister that they shouldn't have chosen such a complicated date for their wedding, but they did it so that Fern's parents could combine their trip for the Big Meeting.

Marcia asks Ana-Leticia when she's coming. She tells A-L she needs her help, but she has to hang up now. She kisses Fern again and shows off some lingerie she's picked out; he's not interested. She shows him a stack of thank-you cards; along with these are some tickets for their honeymoon. He asks her about all the clothes on the bed; she says it's her trousseau. She says she hopes it inpsire something when... grr! she laughs... when he sees her put it on. She moves in for a kiss, but he pulls away. She says she's not going to bother him today. She says she's been very patient with him, and she can wait a little longer.

She asks him if he thinks they are going to marry, only for him to be a man who sleeps at another woman's place. Is that what he wants? She imagines that after the Cannes event and the Big Meeting that all his tension will be gone, and then he'll be able to stop seeing that other woman. (He protests weakly.) She says she hopes that he'll forget about her after their trip. He simply answers that yes, after all that, he'll be relieved of many pressures. She puckers up for a kiss, and he air-kisses her from several inches away.

He watches with detachment as Marcia shows off some more lingerie. Lety continues writing in her diary: He seemed so sincere, so honest, so tormented when he told her that he hadn't made love with Marcia. If she didn't know any better... if she hadn't seen them devouring each other in his office (probably in reference to the mauling Marcia gave Fernando when she came back from Germany)... she needs to stay strong, she feels like she's in a tunnel, when will she be able to see the light?

The next morning, RoboPop samples some sponge cake that was Mom's grandmother's recipe. He kisses her hand with gratitude. Lety comes down for breakfast and Mom shows her that she's added St. Jude to her little altar next to Jesus. Lety lights a candle. She also tells Pop it's time to balance the books for Filmo-Imagen. (She thinks to herself that she's soon going to turn the company over to Fernando.) He says it's no problem, except he's missing the petty cash, there are many expenses, and there's a huge restaurant bill. He asks her for an explanation, and she is saved by the doorbell.

Tomas swaggers in and says he has some news. He gravely informs them that last night he went to bed without any dinner, and he hasn't yet had breakfast. He helps himself to Lety's breakfast, and RoboPop jokes about a bottomless barrel on the menu. He tells Tomas to eat quickly, because today Lety needs them to work out the ledger. He shuffles off to get started.

Now Lety and Tomas are alone, and she explains to Tomas that she wants to be able to account for every penny of Filmo-Imagen if Fern asks for it. Tomas is again impressed that they've made Fern so jealous. Lety tells him that Fern said he didn't care about the money, only what went on between her and Tomas last night. He made a big scene of jealousy last night. (Lety rolls her eyes and scoffs.)

Lety questions Tomas about the date. She asks him how much it cost. He says, nothing, because she invited him up to her place. (Lety is incredulous.) He explains that they were going to have a glass of wine. (Lety rolls her eyes and strokes her hair.) She asks how much money she bilked him out of. He crosses his arms and looks indignant, but she reminds him that he said he wouldn't lie. Lety says, "don't tell me she invited you up to her apartment in exchange for nothing."

Tomas says that Alicia is desperate. She got a phone call saying they'd smash her car (or dispose of it in some way) if she didn't pay up. Lety thinks it's a pretty amazing coincidence that they happened to call last night while he was there. Tomas tells her she's very paranoid and unpleasant.

Lety again asks what he offered Alicia. He denies giving her anything and says they decided not to mix their friendship with money. She didn't get a cent out of him. Lety asks him to swear to this. He averts his eyes. Lety calls him a traitor. He reluctantly swears and tells her that Alicia never said "Aaaaay, Tommy! Give me 500,000 pesos!" (Lety doesn't enjoy his Alicia impression.)

She asks what else happened. He tells her to brace herself. He says they kissed. (Gross, Lety says. Well, she says "guácala." I love guacamole, so I'd have to use a different word.) Lety advises him to disinfect his mouth. :-) He says it was the first time in history that a boyfriend asks a girlfriend if she can believe that he kissed someone else. He laughs and says it was very emotional, and is she jealous? She says no, of course she's not jealous, but she's worried because Alicia will go with anyone who has money.

Tomas is intrigued. Maybe she will have "sexual relations" with him. ("Guácala!" Lety protests again.) He muses some more and I can't understand all that he says, but it's something about sexual fantasies, and Lety replies something about economic fantasies. She advises him to be very careful. She says she doesn't believe that Alicia could give him a sincere kiss and that it's very dangerous.

Tomas assures her that he's been very careful about all he's done... and all he's going to do. He asks when she needs the balances. She says as soon as possible. They're sitting on a time bomb that could blow up at any moment.

Meanwhile, Ariel paces around in his office while questioning his old pal Olarte (former CFO at Conceptos, who was fired in disgrace several months ago) about Filmo-Imagen. Apparently, no one has ever heard of this company. Ariel is angry and tells Olarte to try harder. It can't be a phantom company, there must be some information about them, go to the Secretary of the House if he has to. Who owns this company, what kind of money do they have, and what do they do. If Olarte wants to keep working with Ariel, he'd better find out.

At Conceptos, PM, Juana, and Martha (eating) meet in the restroom to talk about Saimon. PM left a message for him, but hasn't heard back from him yet. They wonder how it went for Lety last night, with her boyfriend.

Just then, they are joined by Lola, Sara, and Lety. They ask how it went with her boyfriend. She says she'd rather discuss it later, but they want to know now. Fernando hasn't arrived yet. She tells them she forgave Tomas. They cheer. She says Tomas confessed that it was in a moment of weakness, that the airhead was persistent and he only went out to eat with her, nothing more. He promised her that it wouldn't happen again.

Lola says that men will promise but that doesn't mean they will follow through. Lety says she believes him, and asks them all to keep quiet about this.

Alicia is singing to herself and greets them cheerfully, especially Lety, when they pass her desk. They think it's as if Tomas didn't cancel their date. Lety says she probably just doesn't want them to see how upset she is, and urges them to forget about it. Juana says they are going to keep an eye on the situation.

Fern and Marcia come off the elevator, just behind the cuartel. Marcia tells Alicia about the unforgettable, magical honeymoon they've planned (in the Middle East??), while Fernando yawns very loudly hoping that Lety won't hear her. Alicia says she wants to tell Marcia about her night; she (Marcia) is going to die, and so are they (the cuartel). Marcia says tell me in my office. Alicia says fine, I don't want to tell you in front of these desdichadas (losers) anyway.

Fern tells the cuartel to get to work. Oh, hey, I love his tie. It's orange with white stripes. Kinda reminds me of clownfish. Speaking of clowns, Omar invites Fern into Omar's office for the Daily Rehash. For some reason, Fern sits in Omar's chair. He tells Omar about how Marcia was blabbing about the honeymoon in front of Lety. Omar thinks this is no big deal since Lety already knows that he's going to go on with the wedding preparations. (Fern complains about Omar's desk.) Fern says it's not even about Lety, he just feels like an idiot organizing a honeymoon at this point.

Omar thinks maybe it's because it's the Middle East. He's never been there, but he's heard that the food is awful. Maybe he should just tell Marcia that he'd prefer to go somewhere else, like Europe. Fern says it's not that either.

Fern remembers the psychic's words. "You can't resolve your problems, because you have mixed up your business and your love. Separate them and choose; if you continue thinking that the company is the most important thing for you, you are lost."

Fern says he doesn't want to compound his problems; he doesn't want to marry Marcia. Omar wants to know where is the hidden camera. Omar rehashes the reasons this is a bad idea and asks if it's because of Lety. Fern says it's not for Lety, it's for him. (They switch seats - Fern says the vice presidency can't accommodate him - but he looks just as uncomfortable in Omar's guest chair.)

Omar doesn't understand why Fern doesn't want to get married and asks about the events of last night.

Fern tells Omar about Lety & Tomas's date at Le Noir last night. They hugged, held hands and were affectionate. The way they were carrying on, he thought they'd go to a hotel, but no, they just went to her house. Then she insisted they were just friends, making up after an argument. He rants again that this guy is driving Fern's sports car and paying the bill with Fern's money. Omar corrects him, saying he's seducing Fern's Lety with Fern's sports car and Fern's money. He asks Fern why doesn't he offer Tomas his house, too.

Fern reminds himself not to talk about his feelings about Lety in front of Omar, since Omar would only make fun. He says, "don't tell me about 'my Lety.'" Then he whines that she wouldn't even give him a kiss.

Omar suggests that Fern go to a monastery since he isn't getting any sex anyway. He can't do it with his official girlfriend and Lety is rejecting him. He's not doing it with models or dancers. Zero bone, zero sex. When you least expect it, you'll be fooling around with some nobody, some woman or maybe someone like Luigi. It's very dangerous.

Fern denies that this has anything to do with Lety. Marcia was all excited about the wedding and he felt empty. The wedding is going to be a farce. He's getting married to a woman he doesn't want.

Omar puts a mirror in front of Fern and says it's an ugly, tired, face of jealousy. Fern reminds him that in 48 hours will be the Big Meeting that will affect all of their lives, and the numbers are in the hands of that ingrate (Lety). (More rehashing)

Fern says the stress of all that's happening has caused him to lose his sexual appetite, that's all. Omar prays that he never experiences this. "You could do it with Lety, though, couldn't you?" he prods Fern. Fern tries to supress a tiny grin and thinks how much he would like to make love with Lety.

Alicia tells Marcia about the date. Marcia can't believe she invited that ugly guy to her place. Alicia said she didn't want to be seen with Tomas again. And he had just left Le Noir with Lety. He didn't know how to open the wine bottle. Marcia wants to know what they did. Alicia says no, you've got it all wrong, if you think anything happened between us, you're very wrong, you're crazy.

Marcia says okay, then tell me, what happened? Alicia said it was no big deal, that Lety doesn't matter to him, Tomas is a freezer, he's cold as ice, frozen stiff. Marcia wants to know how she knows that. Alicia says they kissed. She seems very pleased with herself.

Lety is depressed in her office, knowing that Fern and Marcia are going to get married. She balls hands into tiny fists and asks herself why she's surprised about something she already knew. She chastises herself for being so dumb, naive, and fragile about love.

She works on the balances and thinks about how she wouldn't kiss him last night at her doorstep. Carolina shows up asking about some invoices, and notices that Lety is tense. Lety admits that the crisis with her boyfriend never ended.

Caro says she's getting the impression that Lety is only functioning for someone else. Lety becomes self-conscious. Caro reminds Lety of all the things she's dealing with and asks if she's taken any time to think about her own future. Lety says there's no time; Caro herself said that Lety can't abandon Fernando. There's a little edge in her voice that causes Caro to take a closer look at Lety.

"He needs me," Lety continues. "That's why I'm here."

Caro says she still must take some time for herself. Tomorrow is the Cannes event, next day is the Big Meeting, and at the end of the week, the wedding. Lety should ask for permission to go on a vacation after the Big Meeting. But no; Lety will have to take care of the business while Fern's on his honeymoon.

Lety says she doesn't want to be around for the wedding, much less running the company during their honeymoon. Caro wonders aloud what the wedding and the honeymoon have to do with Lety's boyfriend crisis. Lety makes up something about it being her boyfriend's birthday. She says Fern is just going to have to accept that she'll be on vacation at that time. She muses that it will be the happiest day of his life and nothing can change that.

Caro wants to know if she should talk to Fern about it. Lety begs her not to. Caro says okay, it's just something between you two. Lety says yeah, that's it, it's a work problem between the two of us. Caro asks her to just think about it and she'll come back for the invoices later.

Lety slumps into her chair. "I want to go away from here... I want to go away from here..." She says she wants to go someplaces where she isn't herself.

Omar thinks it's a dumb idea to cancel the wedding and tells Fern he needs to re-seduce Lety. He gives him the Card of the Day to fill out. He calls Fern the "pen of oregano" (??) and Fern tells him not to watch him write.

He finishes the card and takes it to Lety. Lety tells him she has taken calls from Klaus and Zoom, but she supposed he was busy with Omar. He says they were working on a problem with tomorrow's event. He says he supposes she was bothered when Marcia was talking about their honeymoon. Lety says she realizes that he has to go ahead with the preparations for the wedding, etc. but it's going to cost him a lot of money when he cancels everything.

But he doesn't want to talk about that. He gives her the Card of the Day (no envelope) and asks her to read it. She takes it reluctantly and looks at him. "Lety, read it, please. Please!"

Next week

Marcia tries on her wedding dress.

Fern tells Lety he really, truly wants to cancel the wedding and that everything is in her hands.

Mundo de Fieras - Friday 11/24/06

Candy has a heart attack after Elsa leaves with her suitcase. She faints and Leo and Mariangela drive her in his taxi to the hospital emergency room. In the waiting area the friends from the neighborhood wait for word about her condition and gossip about the scandal at the wedding.

Tiberio is in the entry-room to the house demanding that Delores confess who his father is when Regina walks in from the wedding party and answers him for her. “Demian is your father! Demian!” Just then, speaking of the Devil, Demian enters the entry-room and Regina says, “Here is Demian. Ask him yourself if what I’ve just told you is true or not. Go on.” Demian again in a big huff admits to Tiberio that he is his father after all and then storms out of the house as Ti asks him “Why, Why--?“. (About now I am feeling like I need a shower and that this has become some sort of harem situation here.) Doleful Delores is crying and Ti is practically speechless, but he manages to keep stuttering “No! No! No!” Then he finally bellows out in pain once he realizes that his father has never had any true feelings for him at all or he’d have claimed his sorry simpering rear by now.

Demian goes to see the padre who had performed at Pau and JC’s wedding. He tells the padre who is still disgusted with him, why he’s come to confess. He has promised his wife he was going to change and so this is what he'll tell her and the priest won't be able to lie. He'll have to say that he did come to confession. They sit and he confesses all his murderous and destructive acts to the priest, including the attempt on his brother’s life and that of Delores’ brother and how he managed to implicate her in Edgar’s death and why. Demian explains to him that it was all because of his obsessive love for his wife, his only reason for being. He discusses the situation with Tiberio and explains that Delores became too much of a nuisance and so he arranged for the murder of her brother to get her out of the way so he could marry Regina. He tells the priest also that when El Chacal failed him with the attempt on Gabe, El Chacal paid with his own life instead. Afterward Demian reminds the priest that he’s honor bound to keep silent. He sneers at all the religious traditions and laughs that now he’s confessed he has to tell Regina if she asks that, yes he’s come to church and made confession. The priest says he will not give him absolution unless he repents, admits his crimes and turns himself in. Again Demian laughs and refuses and then he walks out.

At the mansion the doctor that they finally called (mercifully somebody called, maybe the maid?) to come check on Diana has just finished checking her. Because of her bleeding from the fall in the shower she has lost the baby. Rogelio is in the upstairs hallway as the doctor comes out of their bedroom and tells him that the baby was lost and tells him he’s sorry. Rogelio waits for the doctor to get down the stairs and breaks into a huge grin. He immediately goes into see her and gloat at the fact that they are no longer going to be anchored to each other because of a child. She is devastated and cries from the horrible guilt she feels as well as from the rotten, heartless things the beast she married has just told her.

Throughout though, we see the contrast of the happy newlyweds, Juan Cristobal and Paulina, on their honeymoon. J.C. decides to finally shave off his perpetual scruffy stubble stuff you can't quite call a beard, and we get to finally see a handsome, clean cut Sebastian Rulli (Yay!) as a young professional-looking guy on his honeymoon, who pretty much promises his new bride the world with a bow wrapped around it forever.

Regina cannot get over the humiliation and the pain that her husband caused everybody with his silly outburst at the wedding. She decides she’s given the marriage all she’s going to, has made every effort to keep her part of the bargain, but this was the last straw. So she packs her bag and sits by the door to wait for Demian’s return to break the news to him again. (None of the women in this mela-novela are too bright, are they? If you plan to leave, just go already! He still has one eye left so he can read still. Leave a note on his pillow or on the fridge or something!) He of course comes in from his confessed non-confession and sees Regina’s bag there next to her. She sits there with a stone face and says she’s finally had it and is leaving him. He of course immediately gets on his knees to her and begs her to stay and save him from himself as only she can. (Maybe this is an ego trip for the woman, who has otherwise, obviously been mentally brutalized and brainwashed into thinking she is a worthless human being.) Her price for staying is for Demian to ask forgiveness from both his sons for the rotten and selfish way he’s treated them all these years.

Nicolas calls up Delores and says he has some shocking news regarding the death of her brother and asks to meet with her. When they meet he tells her he so far cannot prove it, but he has reason to believe that both Miriam and Jos were somehow involved with Edgar’s death. Delores is impactada.

Pedro and Gabe come upstairs to see Diana and Rogelio and Gabe tells her not to blame herself for the loss of the baby. Rogelio grabs Diana’s hand and lies to his father saying that he is as sad at the loss of the baby as Diana. This just galls Diana and she pulls her hand away from him immediately. She bawls again, even louder, but she doesn’t call him out for the lying sack of manure he is (and another good opportunity for Diana to regain a bit of dignity is wasted).

Elsa lets El Coyote know that she’s coming to live with him after all. He says he didn’t expect her to decide quite so soon. She insists and so he takes her on the back of the motorcycle to his flea bag 2-room “efficiency” he shares with the rats and various extended families of roaches. They walk in and she is immediately disgusted with the filth and the trash everywhere. He tells her she is the one now who will be in charge of picking up the place and keeping it clean. Then he shows her the bed-closet he sleeps in with its twin-sized mattress and smiles at her. (Enjoy, Elsa! Enjoy!)

In the meantime Belen has Silvestre taking her to work in his cab. He explains to her that he doesn’t mean to be rude or too forward, but she shouldn’t get the wrong idea. She’s a good girl but he cannot give his heart to her because he is simply stuck on Elsa despite the fact she doesn’t suit him one bit. So he finishes by giving her the “we can be friends” speech, which at this point she realizes (as she thinks back to her last chat with Ti), is a heck of a lot more than she got from the last guy she was interested in.

After Gabe and Pedro leave, Rogelio tells Diana that he’s using the loss of the baby as an excuse to stay home from work that day. He lets off with a few more rude things about it and then goes into the bathroom to take a shower. She gets out of bed and leaves. When Rogelio gets out of the shower and returns to the bedroom he sees Diana’s note on the bed and reads that she’s finally left him and doesn’t want to ever see him again. He immediately checks the closet and her jewelry box and sees she hasn’t taken a thing. (Stupid, stupid, stupid. What is she going to do now, go back to shaking her booty to eat?) This makes him jump for joy and he takes his wedding ring off and throws it down, laughing about how he is finally free.

Leo tells his mother when she finally wakes up that the doctor has strict orders that she is not to work for a while. Mariangela offers to stay with her and keep her company a while and Leo goes to the manse to let Miriam know that his mother won’t be able to come to work for a bit. He gets there as Miriam is walking down the stairs and she greets him a bit less formally than before. He explains Candy is ill and will be out a few days. Miriam says it is okay and to tell his mother she sends her best wishes. He leaves as Jos comes down the stairs. She sees the strange way her mother was around Leo and asks what the reason is for Miriam’s strange reaction around this guy. Miriam just fidgets but says it’s nothing.

Tiberio finally corners his father and asks him why he’s never told him or ever treated him like his son. Demian says he’s never lacked a thing and that he felt it was better not to bring it up because it would lead to the shame of knowing his mother was in jail. Tiberio emphasizes the fact that he is his first born son and he should know this. He complains he was always treated as second best. Demian swears he’s always felt more proud of him than J.C. He felt that JC was simply too weak, but Ti was just like him and that is what counts. Ti tells Demian that he owes him bigtime. When Demian leaves Ti giggles to himself that as the first born son he will get all of this now and not JC. “What a surprise is coming to Juan Cristobal when he returns to find that we are brothers!”

Diana goes to Saraya’s house and asks if she can stay with her. She explains she’s left Rogelio and that she just lost the baby. Saraya hugs her and says she understands the loss of her child more than anybody right now, then tells her about how Jorge rejected her out of shame and wants nothing to do with her.

Delores pays an unexpected visit to Miriam and Jos at the manse. They spit and hiss insults at her and remind her she is not welcome there. (Do say.) This time she spits and hisses right back and tells them she plans on proving they were involved in Edgar’s death. Miriam grabs Jos's hand as the shock of this realization is almost unbearable. Miriam denies it and says Delores's twenty years in a cell must have driven her crazy. Then Jos threatens her with a suit for defamation of character, but Delores shoves it right back in her face; she dares her to go right ahead. She would love nothing more than to reopen the subject in a courtroom and get her side of things aired. So Miriam and Jos yell at her to "Get lost, just get lost! " She says she’s Karen’s aunt and she is staying because she has every right to see her niece. Karen shows up right then because of all the ruckus and says she’ll talk to Delores. They are left alone and Karen says she’s not really interested in what Delores has to say, but Delores questions her. “You aren’t even interested in knowing that Tiberio is my son?” Karen stops in her tracks and stares at her aunt.

Great word: Guácala!

I had to look up the definition. Evidently guácala is from the Nuatl language, I saw this in a forum: "I can't believe the word is not in the dictionary! being of universal usage (from México to Argentina). I looked it up and the term seems to be Nahua (Mexican) in origin. Guácala is used to express disgust, loathing... Mexican use the term 'guacamole' for an icky slimy greenish sauce made with avocados. Guácala! They also have the expression 'guacarear' (or 'huacarear) for to vomit."

Lety used this when Tomás said he'd kissed the Oxi.

Heridas de Amor Thursday

Sorry is a short recap but I have company and was not able to spend more time writting it

Time Passes. Miranda tells her family that her father would be so happy with the baby's arrival. Renata tells them they should call Berta but Miranda tells her not to. The San Llorente women are thrilled to see the baby on the monitor. Later, they defend Berta to Miranda who blames her and Cesar for her and Alejandro's disgrace. Fernanda tells her she's changed but has her doubts she has changed completely. Fernanda tells Florencia it's too risky for her to go to the ranch but she tells her that she hasn't seen Fabricio in 5 months and he arrives the followind day. She reluctantly agrees but tells Florencia she has to return right away. Fernanda asks Miranda how she feels as she says that despite the passage of time things remain the same. A rainstorm begins in Tabasco as Cesar orders Nuria to return to Mexico City. Berta arrives and grabs the phone saying their plan is ready against Miranda. Vicente and Luciano visit Alejandro in prison who is desperate to get out and says if it wasn't for his lawyer Liliana Lopez-Reyna (Susana Gonzalez) he would have been sentenced to life when a guard tells him he has a call. He asks Miranda how she is and she cries asking him why he doesn't want her to go see him. She feels he's hiding something from her and says she wants to meet his lawyer considering he's never wanted her to attend any of his hearings.

They reiterate their love for each other as she says she'll attend his next hearing whether he wants her to go or not. Cesar tells Luis Alberto that he's going to destroy San Llorente Enterprises once and for all and will deal with the proof they have against him when the time comes. He also tells him he paid to give Alejandro special treatment in prison. Nuria tells Berta of her memories at being at the ranch but she tells her she never lived there. Berta worries that Nuria will recall she's Tomasa's granddaughter but she says she was too small to remember anything. Fernanda informs Miranda that she's going to need fertlization treatments to get pregnant when she gets a call from Liliana but she cuts her off asking her mother if she can ever have children. She tells her it's possible as she says she wants a baby even if Alejandro doesn't.Sanson tells Cesar that his plan to kill Alejandro is ready. Days later, a hurricane approaches Tabasco as Florencia learns that floods are forecast. Berta tells her she should have left earlier as Florencia worries about Miranda and Pamela. In Mexico City,

Alejandro sees the news and worries about his wife. Chaquiras and Romeo warn him not to fall asleep and to aware. Fernanda tells Juan she's worried about Florencia and becomes more worried when she learns about the floods in Tabasco. Miranda tells Gabino they're going to the main house as she tells Arcaria to take care of Pamela who is ill. They go on their way as Fernanda prays for her daughters safety. Renata talks to her mother as she becomes more worried as the weather gets worse. Gabino's truck is stuck as Fernanda is able to communicate with Florencia. She tells her how she feels as Fernanda realizes she's going into labor. Miranda and Gabino are able to move the truck as they make their way to the main house. Pamela gets worse as the storm rages. Berta learns Cesar has arrives as Miranda continues on the trail to the man house. Florencia tells Berta she's going into labor but she tells her she doesn't know what to do and leaves her alone.

Alejandro begs the guard if he can watch the news but he tells him he's not in a hotel and leaves. He returns wuth a small television and he becomes more worried. Arcaria tells Pamela she needs to reduce her fever but she denies to saying she wants to know what their situation is from the radio. Alejandro dreams that Miranda blames him for the death of their son. He awakens and says he would rather lose his fortune that lose Miranda or their child. Unknown to Gabino and Miranda the roads are flooded and they go into the river as Alejandro says that without Miranda he would be nothing and would rather die.

La Fea Más Bella #152 11/23/06 But You Say He's Just A Friend

Sitting in Le Noir, Lety and Tomas make up. Fernando is intently watching from the bar. As Lety and Tomas hug, Fernando mutters “Aha! That’s how I wanted to see you, Leticia Padilla Solis!” [In the teaser commercial yesterday, they show this piece and the clever announcer responds “No, Fern, it’s how Lety wanted you to see her!” LOL] A woman in a slinky dress comes over to greet Fern. It seems they know each other. Fern says he can’t talk. She tells him not to be a sangron [literally I think this is sanguine, although in Spanish this is an insult, like “bad-mannered”]. Fern tries to walk away but she pulls him back to the bar. Meanwhile, Lety makes a toast with Tomas “to us” and kisses Tomas on the cheek. The woman with Fern hangs all over him but he is only interested in getting a good view of Lety’s table.

At Lola’s place, PM and Lola are discussing Saimon. Lola asks again how PM really feels about him. PM says he makes her feel great. Lola speculates that that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s love. PM assures Lola that she (PM) loves him.

Lety asks for the check. Tomas wonders why, since they haven’t even eaten yet. Lety says they are not going to eat; they are going somewhere else. Tomas – “Where?” Lety - “Where do people go right after they make up and have a bottle of wine?” Tomas – “Yikes! Are you planning to take advantage of me?” As Tomas pays the bill, he complains about the prices again and says that thank goodness this is the last time he will have to pay with paper money; he is picking up the Filmo Imagen credit card tomorrow. As they leave, Lety instructs Tomas at every step, “Pull out my chair, hug me, look happy.” They walk out still pressed together in a tight hug, cheek to cheek, in an awkward quasi-waltz. When they walk out, the swiggle-mobile is already waiting for them outside. Tomas whispers to the valet that that’s not his girlfriend, this is just the way they get along. He jips the valet out of his tip again! [I’m surprised the valet didn’t do something vengeful to the car.]

Fern follows them out of the restaurant. Another woman tries to grab his attention but he flies right by. Guess what, his car is waiting for him too! Talk about service! He trails Lety and Tomas in his car, saying “You want to play with me, Leticia? Okay, let’s play.”

Lety sees that Fern is following them and tells Tomas to stop the car. Tomas pulls over, and so does Fern. Lety orders Tomas to act romantic. He wants to know how long she’s going to string her boss along this way. Lety’s not sure but she figures until Fern stops playing with her. Tomas thinks it’s an exciting game, as if they are being pursued by a jealous husband. Lety laments that he’s only suffering because he cares so much about his business. She gives us a timeline of upcoming events: Tomorrow Fern’s parents will arrive, the next day is the big Cannes shindig, the day after that is the even bigger board meeting, and two days after that is Fern’s wedding. She grows angrier as she explains to Tomas that the night before, Fern kissed her because he wanted to make sure that she would rig the balance sheets. Tomas observes that he got in big trouble for being her unfaithful boyfriend, while at the same time she’s going around with and kissing her engaged boss. Lety confesses that she was weak to let him kiss her, but she is determined not to let it happen again, since he’s only being amoroso (romantic) in order to keep his company safe. He’ll do anything to save his ass, even kiss her. Tomas agrees, “Yeah, Don Fernanado is nuts, he would probably even be willing to boink you again; talk about nuts! …Woops, did I say that aloud?” Lety looks like she wants to strangle him. He tries to change the subject by asking if she really plans to cook the books for Fern. She hasn’t decided. Tomas thinks she should get a big bonus for that type of work. Lety notes that he has allowed her to spend all that money at Le Noir and even agreed to let her keep the swiggle-mobile. He also promised to cancel the wedding after the board meeting, but she is sure that won’t happen. The Letter from Omar the Imbecile spelled out in detail that all the promises are just a ploy.

Fern is still parked behind them, not realizing how obvious it is that he is stalking them. Marcia calls. Fern answers and pretends he’s happy to hear from her. He says he’s just leaving the office. She wants to talk (and talk and talk) about how excited she is and about all the stuff she’s checking off the wedding to-do list. Fern impatiently rolls his eyes and hold the phone with his shoulder so he can make talking motions with his hands. He promises to be home in half an hour and hangs up.

Lety thinks the board meeting will be a terrible disaster, because Ariel is determined to sell his part if the company. Tomas’s phone rings. Tomas does not want to answer. Lety offers to answer, grabs the phone, and sees that it’s Alicia the Oxi. Lety realizes that Tomas never called to cancel his date with her. She yells at him for it, but he says it’s not so easy, because when he calls to call it off, he’ll be cutting off the whole thing off, not just the date. Lety seems to understand.

Alicia hangs up her phone and gripes about Tomas standing her up.

Lety explains to Tomas that Alicia is only interested in him to spite Lety, and of course, for his money. She compares Alicia using Tomas to Fern using Lety, and she doesn’t want Tomas to end up hurt like her. Tomas replies that he’s not as dumb as she thinks. He knows Alicia just wants his money, but this is the only way he would ever stand a chance with someone like her, and that’s okay because it gives chance to fulfill his dream of going out with her. But he understands that this is not acceptable to Lety, and so he will give up his dream of boinking the Oxi. Lety is sympathetic. She tells Tomas to drop her off at home so that he can go pick up the Oxi. Tomas can’t believe it. Woohoo! He kisses Lety in gratitude and they drive off. Fern follows.

PM tells Lola she wants to find a man who can provide a better life for PM Jr. [yeah, not to mention a big house and a swiggle-mobile for her]. Lola wonders why PM is with Saimon, since he can’t provide what she wants.

Lety and Tomas arrive at her place. In the car, Lety gives Tomas her blessing to go after the Oxi, but gives him three conditions: 1)he can’t lie to Lety anymore, 2)he can’t give Alicia any money, and 3)he can’t get emotionally attached (I guess to Alicia and the money) because this is just a game and it will be over very soon. Tomas promises to comply and thanks Lety profusely. He says he’s going to put Alicia to the test. Then he notices Stalker Fern has just driven up.

Fern is relieved that Tomas brought Lety straight home.

PM says Saimon should not have left work without her. Lola thinks PM is mighty self-centered. Just then the doorbell rings. It’s Saimon.

Alicia calls Tomas again. Lety wants to listen in. Tomas answers. Alicia says she is on ascuas (on live coals… antsy or impatient, I think). Is he coming or what? Tomas explains that he just dropped Lety off and is on his way to pick her up. Lety congratulates him on his professionalism and skill in the category of being unfaithful to her. Tomas promises he won't spend any of her or Filmo Imagen’s money. Lety groans that Alicia will surely have a field day tomorrow when she blabs all about her date with her rich new boyfriend. Lety does a great imitation of Alicia “Aaaaay Maaaarcia…” Since she knows that Stalker Fern is watching, she orders Tomas to kiss her goodnight.

Lola let’s Saimon in and tells him PM is sleeping. She won’t wake PM up because she’s mad at Saimon. Saimon pouts.

Lety and Tomas perform a romantic and dramatic goodbye scene for the Fern’s viewing pleasure. Tomas drives off and half a second later Stalker Fern drives up to her door and calls sternly “LETICIA PADILLA SOLIS.” She pretends to be impactada. She asks what he’s doing there. He shushes her. He says he came to confirm what he has always suspected. He saw everything, absolutely everything: Le Noir, the handholding, the affections, the kisses, and the obvious happiness. He wants to now why, Why, WHY! Lety is indignant but she tells him to calm down. Fern says he won’t calm down, HE WONT CALM DOWN because she denied everything but tonight he saw everything for himself. He is P.O.'ed! Lety wants to know what exactly she did wrong.

Saimon tells Lola about his computer class, but says it didn’t go so well, because he didn’t understand anything. He thinks that he’s not good enough for PM.

Tomas arrives at Alicia’s building. He calls her and says in his best 007 voice that it’s “Mora, Tomas Mora.” Alicia invites him up. Before going in, Tomas goes through his pre-Alicia ritual with the talcum powder and cologne gargle. He wishes he had remembered to get flowers, then grabs some twigs from the lawn. He thinks they look exotic.

Lola goes to PM’s room and orders her to go talk to Saimon. PM obeys like a 6-year old when you tell her she has to eat her broccoli. Lola thought bubbles that PM doesn’t deserve Saimon.

Standing by her front door, Lety insists that she and Tomas are just friends [Anyone remember Bismark E from the 80s? “oh baby yoooou’ve got what I need, but you say he’s just a friend”] . Fern agrees that they are obviously great friends, and wonders if they played “doctor” together when they were kids. Lety says that she and Tomas had a fight that day over money but that they cleared it up and made amends. Besides, she says, how dare he ask about her relationship with Tomas when he kisses Marcia everyday and goes home to her practically every night. He says that, actually, he hasn’t touched Marcia or any other woman since the first night when he was with her. As a matter of fact, he can’t be with any woman who is not Lety. Lety tells him not to lie to her. She begins to walk away. Fern stops her. He grabs her tenderly by the arm. F - “I swear by the most sacred thing in my life, which is you, Lety, that I’m telling you the truth.” L- “Yeah, right.” He caresses her cheek and begs her “Please.” Lety says he drank too much. Fern agrees but says he wants to kiss her. He goes in for it. Lety goes in too, but then backs away. [Darn!] Fern looks deep in her eyes. She can’t help it; she looks deep into his. F- “Please?” He goes in for a kiss again, she yields. It’s beautiful… but before any lips touch, Robpop opens the front door [Darn it Robopop!]. Fern is smooth. He pretends Lety is helping him get something out of his eye. Robopop wants to know why Fern is yelling at his precious and eternally little baby girl. They tell him Fern wasn't yelling, he was singing. He doesn’t buy it and tells Fern to watch himself. As Lety and Fern go inside, Fern gets in his car. He can’t believe he just yelled at Lety. He thinks he must be going insane without her.

Alicia takes out her last bottle of wine and sprays herself and the room before opening the door for Tomas. She’s not sure what to do with the twigs he brought her. She puts them down and shows him around her apartment. He is interested in seeing the bed. Alicia excuses herself and goes into another room. She removes a layer of clothing. Tomas struggles as he tries to open the bottle of wine. Alicia thought bubbles that it’s time to put her plan into action. Tomas is hungry, he goes to Alicia’s fridge but it’s completely empty. Alicia calls her house phone from her cell phone and then goes back to the living room to answer it. She has a pretend conversation with the creditor and begs them to let her keep her car.

Saimon and PM talk. They both pout. He explains that he didn’t stand her up; he had to leave to go to the computer class. PM say “woops, sorry” and they make up. [That storyline took a good seven minutes worth of novela time that Lety and Fern could have made better use of by making out! Darn it!]

Alicia explains to Tomas that the creditors are going to keep her car if she doesn’t come up with the money she owes. Tomas offers to help. Alicia feigns humility.

Lety lies to her mom about the fuss outside with Fern. Julieta tells her to either tell her the truth or not to tell her anything at all. Lety groans that she has crucial decisions to make about her life. She’s not sure if she’s strong enough to handle it. Julieta gives a pep-talk.

Alicia continues with her crocodile tears and damsel-in-distress act. Tomas says he’ll help her get the money she needs. [Oh dear, I really hope they reject his credit card application.]

Goodnight everyone... woops, I mean good morning...

Mundo de Fieras 11/23 The wedding - and the introduction of yet more characters.

Hello, this is your sleepy after-turkey pinch-hitting recapper. Feel free to correct my errors if you are feeling more awake than I am...

First - I don't know why we care - Joselyn, stroking her own cheek, tells Mother Miriam: "I'm having some rooms painted. This will show I'm queen around here." "Good, that's smart, you're marking your territory like a true fiera (wild animal)."

Wedding time - Regina marches her son JC down the aisle and Gabriel escorts Paulina, who is wearing Regina's wedding dress (it is elegantly shirred like a toilet paper cover). When the priest asks for objections, Demian stands and says he forbids his son to marry the daughter of his worst enemy. All the good guys tell him to leave and so does the padre. Demian stomps out, snarling inwardly about Gabriel: "Your existence is what feeds my hate."

Tiberio rushes after Demian as he stumps off across the parking lot. "Padrino, you council prudence - that wasn't very prudent." "Shut up and get out of here," Demian explains.

The wedding goes on. JC and Pau show off their perfect teeth. Leo takes this soppy moment to whisper in MA's ear: "Here before God, admit that you are suffering for a love that may never succeed. I ask one chance to gain your heart - if it fails, I'll leave you in peace." She agrees.

The wedding concludes. Pau makes a little speech and says, sorry, no reception. Fiera trio: "After this scandal, they have nothing to celebrate." (Miriam) "This idiot wedding of hers! She'll lose in the end." (Karen) "I admire Demian, he always knows how to ruin all the best moments." (Joselyn)

At home, Demian sputters and rages as he tipples. "I hate him more than anybody! You know why? [he asks Regina's photo] Because you love him. You think I don't suffer? I can't forget you, or the fact that you love HIM. I'll make you love me if it's the last thing I do!"

Tiberio, eavesdropping: "Hmm, I didn't know he could love like that." Demian staggers and Tiberio jumps in to - help? "Get out of here," Demian explains yet again. What a look of perplexity on Tiberio's faux, almost amphibious face. He should sue his plastic surgeon.

Mayaya and Cortita engage in happy hijinx as they wash the clothes. She says she'll finish up, he flirts and says how can I pay you back, etc. "Belen and Silvestre went together to the wedding, like a couple.... She rented her dress. Silvestre was interested in Elsa, but Elsa has eyes only for The Coyote."

And speak of the devil, here come Elsa and Coyote, walking with their hands in each others' back pockets. "Come live with me," he leers. Mayaya sings to taunt them.

Leo has, of course, briefed his mom on MA's agreement to give him a trial run. MA reminds them she doesn't have "those feelings" for Leo but will give it her best shot. In response, Leo leans down and - caresses his mother as she sings his praises to MA. Uh.

All three of them go outside and are impactados to see Elsie with Coyote. There is a disagreeable scene. Elsie shouts: Candy always loved Leo best and spent all her money on him ("it was his studies..." Candy feebly rejoinds), it's all MA's fault, she (Elsie) is now leaving forever. Candy asks her forgiveness! Elsie says No! "I'm going to have a better life even if I have to sell myself!" Way to go, fiera! She gets her suitcase and stomps out. Candy has a heart attack. Leo gives her nitroglycerine and yells for a taxi to take her to the hospital.

MA was hovering anxiously and helpfully throughout - nice first date.

OK, I have nothing to say about the Good Guys Gathering after the wedding except that it was packed with pleasant yet ponderous pontifications and platitudes. Luisito's presence made it especially intolerable. At the end, Pau changed into her wedding hotpants and JC took her off to some beach resort.

Meanwhile, at the Bad Guys Gathering: the Fieras plus Diana and Rogelio drink at home, smacking their lips over the scandal. Rogelio is irritated the wedding was so unprestigious. (Also, of course, no reception = no shrimp and bacon canapés and free booze.) Oh, it turns out Diana is pregnant. Perhaps not for long, because immediately after this information is imparted, Diana goes upstairs to take a shower, slips on a malign bar of soap, falls down, and starts to miscarry. The maid finds her, yells for Rogelio. Downstairs, there is no hurry to find out what's wrong or send for the doctor.

In some undisclosed location... Here comes a guy with his shirt all unbuttoned, I've never seen him before, he's moving furtively. A lady follows him. "Don't run, Jorge my son, we must talk! Don't say you don't know me!" "I'm ashamed of you, a cabaratera!" Is a cabaratera a singer in a nightclub? That doesn't sound so bad - in fact, some might deem me, Melinama, a cabaratera, and my kids haven't changed their names! Or is it something worse? Jorge continues to exposit: "I've invented a new life and told lots of lies so that nobody will know I'm your son - now go away and leave me alone." "OK, I just want you to be happy, god bless."

Taking an equal amount of ordure from an equally unfriendly son is Dolores, who tells Tiberio she's worried he hangs with such an evil guy (Demian). "You imitate his cruelty! I'm your mom..." "If you cared, you would have been here all my life." She cries about missing his first lil' baby step etc. "That's baloney! You condemned me to a worse fate... I felt so vulnerable and unvalued as a child, I missed you, I cried every night..." "But now I'm here!" "TOO LATE! I missed you then, but now I don't, instead I'm full of rage." She mentions her own sadness, in her prison cell, but he doesn't acknowledge her trump card. Then she goes on her knees before him! "What must I do to win back your love?"

He looks down his nose at her. "If you want me to consider, just CONSIDER, mind you, the possibility of taking you back as my mother, you must be at my side continuously, help me with absolutely everything, and never judge me." She looks a little scared at signing a blank check like that. She is wearing YELLOW eyeliner, I never saw yellow eyeliner before.

Tiberio follows up thusly: "OK, first thing: WHO IS MY FATHER? NO LIES NO MORE SECRETS!" He screams in her face. Regina comes in just at that moment and answers him: "Demian is your father." Tiberio is impactado.

Heridas de Amor - Wed. November 22

Happy Turkey Day!

We start off Wednesday’s episode with a replay of Miranda and Alejandro talking in his jail cell. Miranda has big raccoon eyes, smudged with eye makeup. Al tells her that he thinks its better that she not have any kids of his. (Major foreshadowing here folks.) Miranda’s eyes widen as she hears Al say this to her. Al goes on to explain that he doesn’t want to pass on to a child the same illness that killed his father and two sisters. Two large prison officials walk in and tell Al that he has been charged with the murder of Gonzalo.

Juan talks on the phone with Fernanda telling her he hasn’t seen Renata. He will let Fern know when he does. He hangs up the phone to join in the conversation with Amparo and Francisco. They believe that if Renata comes back to Juan and or how she handles herself will be the test of their love for each other.

Fern hangs up the phone to look over the sleeping Flor who is also attended by Fabricio. Fern states that she believes Al is innocent. She asks Fab who he believes is the culprit for G’s death. Fern believes it is Bertha. Fab, in his first attempt at supporting Bertha, and with wide eyes, shakes his head and says he doesn’t believe that Bertha would do something like this.

Louis Alberto and Nuria talk over G’s death. Nuria is all sympathy for Alejandro who has just lost his sister and now Gonzalo. LA tells her that he is sure that it was Cesar who killed Don Gonzalo. Nuria is shocked to hear this. She asks LA to explain. LA tells her he has to go back to work and leaves her open mouthed.

Bertha is standing by a window having orgasms or at the least making all the noises as if she is having them. There is a blood spot over her left breast on her shirt. Charo comes to tell her that Juan is in the house, he is there to see Renata. Bertha is surprised to hear this and to find out that Renata was home. She slaps Charo for not telling her sooner that Renata was home and orders Charo to tell Juan to come see her immediately. She has to change first though so she orders Charo to tell no one what she might have seen Bertha doing.

Miranda is in her fathers’ office sitting in his chair and talking on the phone to Pamela. She tells Pamela everything that has happened. (Where has Pamela been? Why wasn’t she at the funeral the cremation?) She talks eloquently of the details of what has happened and of not being able to take anymore pain. We don’t hear Pamela’s voice but from Mirandas’ responses it sounds like Pamela tells Miranda she will see her soon. The women hang up. Miranda has a flash back to G telling her she will be his successor. She curls herself up in his large green desk leather chair and talks to herself about her fears. She states how weak she is and what a coward she is etc.

Bertha and Juan are in the white office of the Mexico City house. Bertha tells Juan that since Gonzalo died she is now the maximum authority of the house. She tells him that this is the last time he will put his feet in this house. She wants him out now and for him to never return. She tries to do a good job of feigning strength and malice but fails. Juan laughs in her face and asks her if she is finished. Bertha states she never wants to see him again to which Juan states that she will see him again because he will not do as requested. He will only respect the orders of the REAL owner of the house. Does she know who the real owner is? Fernanda de Aragon is the real owner and he doubts it will be long before the real senora returns to the house. Bertha is impactada. He laughs again to see she is so ill informed and leaves. We see her face and composure breaking down as she is left alone with the news that Fern owns the house.

Juan finds Renata draped over a chaise chair that is in an upstairs room. Renata stands up to hug Juan. The scene is sweet as they seem to hug each other indefinitely. This is the best part of this scene. After the couple hugs Renata quickly flops herself back on the chair to repeat over and over that she wants to die. The rest of this scene is an endless repeat of Renata being despondent saying she wants to die and Juan showing her that he loves her and won’t leave her. Towards the end of this boring part Charo enters the room saying Erica is on the phone. Juan encourages her to talk with her friends.

Miranda, Vicente and Luciano talk in Gonzalo’s office about what they will do. Miranda wants to hire the best attorney there is. Luciano knows of some criminal attorney to hire and they decide to follow his suggestion. Miranda wants to sell all of her jewels to fund the attorney. Luciano tries to talk her out of it saying she has some precious jewelry. Miranda goes into a lecture of how nice things in life are there to help you through the bad times. The three try to talk some more business but it is obvious Miranda’s head is not there. They give her a break to pull herself together. Pamela enters the office and we hear Miranda tell her she is more alone now than ever. They hug crying.

Juan tells Amparo, Francisco and Carola that Renata doesn’t want to return to their home. Juan goes on for some length about how he doesn’t have the luxuries or money that Renata’s life has but she would be a millionaire in love with him. Carola is supportive of Renata believing that Renata will return. Juan goes on to talk of what his hopes and aspirations for life are. He tells a boring story of a taco vender who sold tacos in front of the hospital. She had a heart attack and couldn’t afford medical care. This was a life changing event for him and he wants to open a medical center to help all of the poor people who have nothing like themselves. Carola says she will help and he can count on her to be by his side. Amparo and Francisco give each other the eye when they hear her say this.

Louis Alberto walks into the office and sees Luciano behind the desk. I think they are in Cesars old office. LA is surprised to see Luciano and tells him so. Luciano quickly tells LA that he needs to turn in his resignation.

Alejandro is shown in jail being escorted to a cell with two guards and more behind him. He is ordered to get naked for his first bath. No sooner has he taken off his shirt than some men start to spray him with a fire hose. The water hits him hard and he is slammed into the back wall of the cell. The men laugh and laugh while Al struggles not to fall down. Obviously the water is being shot at him at too close of a range.

We break for an ad and open to the same scene of Al struggling to stand while being shot with the water. Voices are heard over the laughing and water. It is Miranda and Pamela talking about Al, his suffering in jail and Miranda’s need to get him out of there. Pamela tells her not to underestimate Al. Finally we see the women talking in a restaurant sharing advice over coffee. Pamela advises Miranda to have positive energy. When did Pamela become Daira? Pamela ends the coffee break reminding Miranda that she has money now and will help her when she needs it.

Louis Alberto argues with Luciano that he doesn’t believe his resignation is a corporate decision. Vicente adds his two cents telling LA to sign his resignation. LA rejects the advice and says he won’t. He wants to see what the Senora Miranda has to say. Miranda enters at just that time to say she can’t help him. LA starts in on threatening them with how much he knows about them and the company. Vicente steps up again to say you know something about Cesar? LA gives a scornful laugh turning his head on his way out saying that now Vicente will never know.

Renata, Erica and Veronica chat it up downstairs in the white office. The girls support Renata on staying with Juan. They tell Renata to call Juan and have him come get her. Bertha enters acting all nice, but immediately starts in on Veronica. She says she wasn’t sure that Veronica was still with us (meaning alive). Veronica is pissed to hear this and says unfortunately she is still here. So how is Bertha? Is she ok in the head or does she still want to take over the world like her it is her small brain? (Veronica said pinque celebro which I understood to mean small brain but if anyone understands this saying better please let me know.) Bertha ignores Veronica and tells Renata that she would like to offer her humble opinion. Veronica jumps in telling Bertha that there is nothing humble about her opinions. Bertha ignores Veronica again, continuing with what she was saying to Renata. She tells Renata that first she married because of a bet, second she married to go against Gonzalo. The girls interrupt Bertha here and tell her that Renata married in love. Strangely Renata says nothing and lets Erica and Veronica talk for her. Bertha insists that Renata couldn’t have married in love. She married mistakenly not aware of the consequences of her actions. There is a remedy for everything, least there’s death right Verito? Veronica gnarls her teeth, looks straight at Bertha and says least there’s old age, right Bertha?! When old age is on top of you there is nothing else to do. You above all should know right? Bertha leaves looking weak and frustrated.

Fernanda, Julio and Rebecca chat in Rebecca’s living room. Rebecca whines Pobre Gonzalo. Julio is a gentleman to Fern asking her how she is doing since it was her that was punished for so many years by Gonzalo and Bertha. Fern is touched that Julio is asking. Julio goes on saying how Fern has had to withstand their anger and evilness for so many years. Fernanda just wishes Gonzalo knew that she never cheated on him. Rebecca interjects that Fern was found with another man in the hacienda. Fern says yes she was with the father of Florencia but she hadn’t talked with him in 6 years. Rebecca continues saying how am I to believe that Fernanda! Julio snaps at Rebecca asking what are you saying Rebecca! Rebecca answers that Bertha told her that Bertha saw Fern with the other man. Spooky music starts to play as Julio give mophead a death glare and Fern looks at her with confusion.

Veronica tells Erica how mad Bertha made her. She knows many things about Bertha. Erica warns her to be careful. Renata rejoins them, from comforting Bertha about Veronica calling her old, and they hold hands thanking each other for being there to support each other. They go to get some food.

Julio says he wishes he had cleared things up with Gonzalo. (Somehow the confrontation of mophead has been dropped.) He doesn’t understand how Gonzalo allowed Bertha to fill him with hate. Rebecca pipes up that she doesn’t believe that Bertha is as bad as they (Julio and Fern) say. Julio insists that Bertha is bad and he has told mophead this for years. He goes back to inquiring about Fern. Fernanda tells him that they can’t let Bertha separate them again, he is a real friend. Rebecca sits in her chair making faces that tell the viewers that she is not happy to see Fern making nice with Julio. Rebecca models the behavior of a spoiled 5 year old. You can almost see and the evil jealous wheels turning in her childish head. Fern tells Julio, including Rebecca, that she would like to renew their friendship and familial relationship. Fern is excited to be with family again like in the old days. Julio touches Ferns hands as they share heartfelt comments about being reunited. As soon as Fern and Julio have left (not together) we hear Rebecca talk to herself that she is not happy not happy at all. Julio IS her man. She doesn’t want them to renew their friendship. She picks up the phone and calls Bertha telling her that they can’t have Julio and Fern renewing their friendship. They cant have that, it doesn’t agree with them!

Miranda and Luciano talk about being strong for Alejandro. Blah Blah Blah. Luciano tells her that the firing of LA was Al’s decision.

Nuria and Louis Alberto talk about his forced resignation. Nuria says well at least we weren’t arrested like we thought we’d be. LA goes into how Cesar is to blame for everything. Cesar is the one who killed Gonzalo. Nuria becomes enraged to hear LA say this again. She tells LA to not say that. Cesar is incapable to do that! Incapable!

Alejandro talks to Luciano in the meeting area of the jail. He tells him that the guys who stole his car are in jail with him, they have to be mad at him for reporting them. Luciano has to get him OUT! The men then discuss Miranda and Al tells Luciano to tell Miranda to be strong. Al then tells Luciano to tell Bertha that he wants to talk with her. He wants to talk with her immediately.

Back at the hacienda we hear Naty mumbling to Arcadia that the house used to smell like flowers until that night. She has some green flashback to “That Night” and of taking the gun from Tomasa. Tomasa told her to hide the gun very well and that Tomasa would look for her. She never saw Tomasa again. She tells Arcadia that she still knows where the gun is. She wants them to go to the harvest house. Arcadia tells her it’s too far to go to now, plus it is about to get dark. They will get Gabino to take them tomorrow. Naty tells Arcadia that is where the treasure of the cocolbosh is.

Cut to a scene where Arcadia is talking to Gabino telling him to tell the patrona what Naty has said. Gabino argues that these are invented things of Naty. They decide to go to the harvest house and see for themselves and if what Naty says is true, then they will call Miranda. Arcadia then tells Gabino they should eat some of the chocolates that makes them feel good, they walk off being giggly and flirty.

We see a woman’s shadow walking back and forth behind curtains. We see the moon rise in a night sky, indicating that time has passed. As the woman walks by the curtains her body changes … soon she has a pregnant belly. We see the pregnant belly pointed upward as it is being rubbed with lubricant for a sonogram. We hear the voices of Fern and Miranda talking about the baby. Miranda doesn’t want Fern to tell her if it is a boy or girl. We see the baby visibly moving in the pregnant belly. Miranda says something like the child will be a soccer star by the way it moves! Then we hear Miranda tell Renata No! Bertha will know nothing about her baby!

Mundo de Fieras, Wed. Nov. 22

Leo tells Candelaria that she can’t have coffee because of her high blood pressure.

MA is watching Luisito in the hospital when Gabriel comes up. He says that he doesn’t know what happened when MA was in the hospital room with Joseyn but he is sure that it wasn’t pleasant. MA tells him not to worry. Gabriel says that it is very strange that MA is using the formal ‘usted’ with him. MA says that she will use it from now on. Joselyn reminded her what her position is.

Miriam tries to convince Federico not to tell MA that he is her father because it will drive MA away from him and she will never return.

Paulina and JC tell each other that they will love each other forever and nothing will ever come between them.

Demian tells himself that the wedding must not happen. Gabriel should not have the satisfaction of seeing Paulina married even if she isn’t his daughter by blood.

Gabriel and MA keep watch over Luisito all night. [At least Gabriel gets to sit down by Luisito’s bed. MA has to stand up in the hall all night.] The next morning Leo tells them that Luisito is recovering well from the surgery and they will know soon if it was successful.

In bed, Demian tells Regina that his desire for her has been very strong and he wanted to take her by force but he promised to change and we won’t give in to his desires.

The surgeon tests to see if Luisito has any feeling in his legs. He appears not to but he asks to get out of bed. They let him do it. He stands for a second and then falls. [They expected him to be able to walk the day after surgery with no physical therapy or anything?]

Nicolas meets Delores in a café and asks her to use the informal ‘tu’ with him. He tells her that he has done some investigation about what happened when her brother was supposedly murdered. One thing that he found out was that there are no sharks where Edgar went overboard. There are some families who have fished in that area for generations. Maybe they rescued Edgar. [Couldn’t he have just drowned?] Delores is quivering with emotion upon hearing this.

Joselyn tells Luisito that the operation didn’t work.

Miriam stops by to have a chat with Candelaria. She asks about Candelaria’s children. Candy doesn’t have much to say about Elsa but she heaps praise upon Leo. She recalls the day that he was abandoned as an infant in Father Anselmo’s church. Miriam appears to be impactada by this story.

The surgeon tells Gabriel not to give up hope. There is no change now but after some time passes, Luisito should be reevaluated. Meanwhile, Joselyn is telling Luisito that he will never walk again despite what his father tells him. Gabriel comes into the room and tells Luisito that he will walk again. Joselyn gives him a significant look.

Back in the kitchen, Miriam tells herself that the date and the place correspond so Leo must be her son. At that moment, Leo comes into the kitchen.

Gabriel tries to convince Luisito that he will walk again and Joselyn asks why he is giving the kid false hopes.

Miriam is impactada in the salon when Ingrid comes in. Miriam drags her to the office and tells her that Leo is her son. ‘That means that Leo and Joselyn are brother and sister,’ says Ingrid. She recalls that Leo would not take a penny from Joselyn when he drove her to the dress shop after Gabriel asked her for a divorce. ‘It must have been their blood ties,’ says Miriam.

Miriam and Ingrid come into the kitchen and ask Leo to sit and have a coffee with them. He is surprised and confused.

Gabriel tells his household that Luisito’s operation didn’t work but they still have hope. Luisito tells MA that his father has convinced him that he will walk again.

Leo tells Miriam and Ingrid about the operation. They think it is cruel to give the kid a false hope but Leo says that with the little they know, he is convinced that it is a good idea to keep Luisito believing that he will walk again.

Regina is consoling Gabriel about the results of the operation. Demian sees them and leaves angrily.

Regina chews Demian out for suspecting that she is unfaithful to him simply because she was giving comfort to Gabriel. Demian sort of seethes but doesn’t say anything.

Delores wonders if it could be possible that Edgar is alive. [This is a novela – it’s a certainty.]

Josleyn is chatting to her reflection in the mirror and recalling her previous 3 murders: Edgar, Didier and Aurora. She is ready to kill again if anyone gets in her way.

Back at the dress shop, Ingrid asks Miriam what she is going to do now that she knows that Leo is her son. ‘Nothing,’ says Miriam. ‘Leo is nothing to me. It’s like he doesn’t exist.’

JC surprises Paulina with an apartment he has rented for them. She is happy and excited.

Gabriel tells Nicolas how MA stayed to watch Luisito all night and how much she cares about the kid. Gabriel says that he has thought about it and MA deserves to be happy with someone who can give everything she deserves. Nicolas says that is what love is: resignation and sacrifice.

JC and Paulina go on and on about how much they love each other. Candelaria then goes into a long speech about life and love while we see Leo graduate from medical school, JC and Paulina decorate their apartment and MA teaches kids somewhere.

Then we get the famous Tiempo Despues – Later.

It’s Paulina’s and JC wedding day and Leo and Candelaria are preparing to attend the ceremony.

Karen and Joselyn are getting ready too in a room with a big scary portrait of Joselyn. Karen is upset that despite her best efforts, she couldn’t split up JC and Paulina. Joselyn says not to worry. She can split them up when they are married.

Paulina comes in to where Gabriel is in her [very ugly] wedding outfit. She loves him even though he isn’t her real father. He loves her, gives her a blessing.

A similar scene follows between Regina and JC.

Karen “accidentally puts stains on Paulina’s wedding dress. Paulina is determined to get married anyway but she is desolated. Regina to the rescue. She lends Paulina her wedding dress. Crisis averted.

The processional plays. Gabriel leads Paulina up the aisle and gives her to JC. The priest does the old, “if anyone know of any reason why this man and this woman should not be joined in holy matrimony, let him speak now or forever hold his peace.” A moment of silence and just as the priest starts to continue the ceremony, Demian hops up and says that he is opposed to the marriage. Everybody is impactada except the Fieras who are smirking. The credits roll.

La Fea Más Bella #151 11/22/06 Fer's Mission Impossible, Animal Scents, Alicia plantada, and another night at Le Noir...

We begin with Lety in her office and she is notified by Celso that Tomas is waiting for her.

Fer and Omar the Imbecile are discussing this perceived problem that Lety and Tomas are going to Le Noir. Omar wishes the big rascal some luck with it all, but he is troubled by something Lety said. Omar tells Fer Lety seemed to know the woman that went out with Tomas, that he tought she mentioned the “Oxigenada.” Surprising, but he seems to think of only one, suggesting to Fer that maybe she was talking about their Oxy - Alicia. Fer says maybe, but what would she have to do with all this? She wouldn’t go out with a slob like Tomas. Omar says you never know, feminine desire knows no boundaries sometimes if given the opportunity. Fer agrees that they can be very desirous.

Caro walks in to be accosted by Omar who asks what marvelous perfume she is wearing she said it’s not exactly perfume. It’s the scent of an exotic flower from Burundi. O-Burundi? She said yes, it is used to get along well with animals. You are supposed to use it to suppress a bad scent that your body gives off when you are afraid of an animal…. Omar loses patience and departs. Fer warns her that one of these days she is going to hurt Omar because it takes him so much effort to figure out her humor. She remarks it’s only a joke; he believed everything. She asks him to look over some papers and he claims he is not the one good with numbers, that she should speak with Lety, she says it’s Marcia’s area actually that she didn’t handle it. C- By the way Marcia asked me to help with the wedding which I will gladly do for solidarity. Fer says yes that’s great. She says well, you know that a wedding involves two and it seems that Marcia is the only one doing anything right now. He makes a snide comment in return.

Caro goes in to see Lety. Caro asks her to take care of a bill and explains what it concerns. Lety says she’ll take care of it. Just then Fern steps in to let them know he’s leaving. She notices that Lety is lighting the candle that Caro gave her and she wants to know if it is helping. Lety thanks her and lets her know that it is. She expresses concern and tells Lety to take care of herself.

The cuartel is in on the secret regarding the Oxi. Omar overhears them mentioning the term. Alicia asks Omar if he would do her the favor of giving her a ride home. He says no, but he throws some change at her and puts some pesos in her cleavage. She is offended and wants to know why he treats her that way. He begins to explain something smart, but Fernando interrupts him. He pulls Fernando away and assures him that Lety was definitely talking about Alicia.

Lety comes out telling PM that she is going. PM questions why she is leaving to go to such a nice place looking like that and that PM will help her spif up a bit. They make loud comments that she wouldn’t want to leave any chance for a husband stealer to take advantage of her boyfriend. Alicia takes the bait and is concerned that she will be stood up so she asks Celso to get her a cab. What are all the notes taped to Marta????

Alicia follows them into the restroom to get the scoop and they proceed to talk about how Lety’s evening should be with Tomas and what she can do to seduce him. There is back and forth of the usual jesting between them. Sara calls A the Oxi and A says if she had natural hair like them she’d rather not be natural. They go out of the restroom after A attacks them with her fine French perfume that Marcia got from Germany. Sara warns L about getting in the elevator with Oxi. At the end of the exchange Sara says she knows who will really be stood up. Just then Jasmin walks up on her cell phone and Luigi yells after her to get back to work. He makes a comment about the flock of little amusing girls with respect to the cuartel. He is upset because Irma planned to go home. He tells her they have to work around the clock to get ready for the Cannes celebration and walks off with her. The cuartel calls him inconsiderate and abusive.

Tomas is outside waiting impatiently for Lety, he tells himself he is lost as he sees both women coming out together, so he sinks down in his car to hide. Celso busts him. He greets Lety she back hands and front hands him and forces him to kiss Oxi, but first she takes the Benz keys and Alicia freaks out that Lety is taking the car….psych….another Lety dream. Instead L wants to know why T is impactado, but she feigns that she is happy to see him and says that they have to go. She sweet talks him and gets in the car. He makes sign language to Alicia over Lety’s head that he’ll call her and that he was sort of stuck. Lety fakes that they are getting along out loud but expresses her anger to him quietly. Finally they pull away. Right on their tail is Fer all hot and bothered. He says to himself that today Lety is going to end the games she is playing with him.

Back inside Simon is reading the paper and he comes across an ad to improve himself through learning computers. He thinks that he has to do something to earn a better living or he will lose Paula Maria since she wants to be with a millionaire. He decides this will be his chance.

We get to Le Noir and the same valet Tomas stiffed last time is there and calls him on it. Tomas says the waiter must have stolen it then, that’s how things are in this country. The valet doesn’t buy it and very unpleasantly takes the keys and drives off. Lety remarks how famous Tomas is at this restaurant because he had such a long conversation. He tells her not to be mad. They go inside and he tries to pull his business card trick again because they have no reservation, and the maitre d’ politely tells him he already has one. Lety interrupts to tell him who she is, and he remembers promptly likely because of the big money she spent there and the huge tips she left. He will see if he can get them in. Of course he will, now….

Don Fer pulls up out front and the valet very eagerly in contrast runs up to take care of him. Fer tells him to put the car far away because he doesn’t want anyone to see that he is there.

Lety and Tomas get a table, surprise, and Lety like the good deserving woman she is forces him to pull out her chair first. He still doesn’t get why when she is capable of doing it just fine herself. Idiot. Fer enters and hides behind a couple, he talks out loud to himself and breaks through the couples clasped hands. He greets the maitre d’, but hugs him tightly with his head down at the waist to hide his face. This earns looks from the couple right next to him. The host tells them not to worry that Fer is a valued client.

Back at Conceptos, Simon tells Celso of his plan to take the computer classes. Celso essentially tells him he’s stupid to think that if he takes these classes that he’s going to instantly get a sports car.

We flash to Luigi instructing his dancers. The cuartel is bouncing around outside of the room mocking the dances after peaking in. Luigi tells the dancers it’s not right, that they need more style. The cuartel make more fun. They seem to be trying to rescue Irmita from his clutches. Irmita commiserates with Luigi’s pooch.

Back at Le Noir Fer hides himself behind a plant. He tells the maitre d’ that he doesn’t want a table that he’ll go to the bar and doesn’t want anyone to know he is there. He asks not to be called Don Fer, but instead Salvador Garcini (the name of an actor/director for those who don’t know).

Lety lets in on Tomas about Alicia. She wants to know how long he’s been betraying her with Alicia. He thinks Al is righteous, but admits that he’s had his first and last meeting with her even though she is perfect. T tells L that they talked about business and common friends etc. L cracks back essentially that A wouldn’t know anything about those things and if he thought she spoke about them well it’s because he was probably not really paying attention to her words, but instead her….uh…legs [she makes the shape of boobs though with her hands]. She tells him that Lechita is her worse enemy and that A wanted to get rid of her since her first day of work and she makes fun of L with Marcia. Everyone hates her and A showed her hate to the entire cuartel by shooting her perfume at everyone. Tomas gets excited that L might smell like A. He leans over to smell Lety. Lety yells at him and tells him he’s an ungrateful imbecile. In the background Don Fe uh, Salvador takes a seat at the bar right up next to another couple and is peeking around them to watch what T & L are doing. Lety essentially tells Tomas that Alicia flirts with everyone and that he has no business being with her.

Back at Conceptos the cuartel prepares to leave, that they can’t wait anymore for Irma. PM asks Celso where Simon is, and Celso claims he doesn’t know, the cuartel tells PM it’s because she insulted S about not being a millionaire.

Back at Le Noir, Lety begs Tomas to leave A alone. She has confided in him so many things, etc. She mocks Tomas very well about how he talks around Alicia. Tomas starts playing the martyr now; that he betrayed L and he has to abandon her now since she’ll never trust him again…blah blah blah. They swig some vino. Lety turns around and notices Fer and she stands up impactada and exits the table. Fer turns away and has a horrified look on his face. She runs up to the maitre d’ and asks if Fer is here. In the background Fer moves into a group of strangers that are taking a photo and he intently watches what L does. The maitre d’ denies his presence. She goes out front to the valet and asks about the car, he is not as strong. He plays dumb at first, but then spills the beans after she tells him that she was told to get some papers for Fer out of the car. When she walks back in she plays along with the maitre d’ and declares it must have been someone else who looked like Fer. In the background Fer’s face peers through the small porthole window of the women’s restroom, the little stick figure with a dress planted across his nose. This was a riot. He comes out to ask if L was told he was there and the maitre d’ tells him no she knows nothing, she thinks she was mistaken. Fer goes back to the bar.

Tomas continues his self deprecation, Lety fakes affections toward him now aware that Fer is watching from somewhere. Fer freaks out and runs into the kitchen. He comes out carrying a tray of drinks to walk past them and try to eavesdrop. Tomas is impactado at Lety’s affection so she finally tells T that Don Fer is there and that they need to make him jealous basically.

We are at Lola’s house and she is chastising PM for insulting Simon about his earnings. Simon is now at the class and appears perplexed at the systems, but resigns that he’ll do it for PM. Back at the house Lola questions PM’s true feelings for Simon and asks her straight out if she really loves him. PM conveniently has her mouth full of torta, and she is saved by the boy coming in to ask about the dinner. The answer to this question hangs in the balance. Does this mean maybe they’ll break up? Hmmm.
We are back at Le Noir and Lety assures Tomas that Fer is here somewhere so don’t turn around and look for him or he’ll catch them. She pretends again that they should be flirting. He finally gets it. Fer is again looking over other people and pretending that he is a part of their conversation. It looks like he fake talks to them. Hysterical! Imagine if anyone ever did this to you! I love watching him squirm!!! Lety’s conversation with T takes a turn towards the serious. She begs him not to resign from FI, she tells him that if he does this then it will make her feel worse than Don Fer made her feel. Tomas tells her ok, you are my best friend and I would die without you around, so for you I’ll come back again. They hug. Fer’s eyes get a little larger. Lety begs T for another hug. T declines, but L tells him to do his work. He very sweetly tells her that it isn’t work to hug her, he cares for her a lot. She tells him to make it more sensual. They hug a big hug. Fern’s eyes pop out now and he pushes his cover people away saying so this is how Leticia Padilla Solis wants it!!!!! He is aaaaang…gryyyyy!!!!!

I think the next episode is going to be great!!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!!!!!!!

Heridas Tuesday 11/21 - In which a little birdie talks to a nut and an eye taco sings a song

We begin with a complete repeat of Gonzolo's shooting, Miranda and Renata's tears, Alejandro waving the gun around and threatening people, and Cesar and Bertha smirking at a job well done.

The Mariachis are serenading Amparito and the family sings around a table loaded with gifts and sweets. Meanwhile Fernanda, Miranda and Renata are weeping at the mortuary. Vicente arrives and tells them that Alejandro has been jailed. The women all cry that he's innocent, but Vicente says he will stay locked up during the investigation based on Cesar and Bertha's testimonies and the fact that the ballistics test proved the gun he held is the same one that killed Gonzalo.

Gonzalo's casket is carried in and they fling themselves upon it and weep some more. Miranda has a green flashback to her last conversation with papa. He tells her she has always been the closest one to him. He would give his life for her happiness. She says she would do the same for him. Back in the present, she tells Renata "Last night he told me he loves us with all his heart." At this news Renata sobs with renewed vigor and screams "Papa don't go, I want to die!" Miranda and Fernanda join the hysterics. Cesar and Bertha arrive and gaze with satisfaction at the sorrow they have wrought.

At Amparito's urging Juan sings a song and dedicates it to his father. It's a hauntingly beautiful tune about a child's love for his beloved old father. As Juan sings, the scenes cut between the celebration at the apartment, the San Llorente daughters crying over their father's casket and Alejandro in jail. Juan concludes the song with "I am your blood, my beloved old one." This eye taco can really belt one out. The party-goers embrace one another; at the same time Miranda and Renata hug their father's ashes. Wait a minute, did he get cremated within the length of one song? Gimme a break.

Miranda visits Alejandro in jail. She runs into his arms and swears she believes in him. He says he didn't shoot Gonzo but neither did Cesar or Bertha, it was that Guapo guy. He kicked the gun away from him then shot him, there should be blood on the floor and other places in the house. Miranda says the authorities reviewed the scene and didn't find any signs of it, that's why Cesar and Bertha's testimonies have condemned him. Al says that Cesar and Bertha are trying to separate them. (We all know the rule, there is "a rat" in separate. In this case two rats.) Miranda agrees and says she won't allow it. Al asks "Did Charo give a statement? What did she say?"

Charo is lighting candles and praying to the virgin to forgive her for being a lying coward when Cesar and Bertha interrupt. Bertha asks if Charo told them (the police) everything as she instructed. Charo says yes, she told them that Mr. G. was alone then Mr. Al arrived, she heard them talking, a little later heard shots, when she went to look she met Cesar and Bertha just arriving at the house, she said exactly what Bertha told her. Cesar, subtle charmer, grabs her braid and threatens "You'd better, you stupid flunkey, because as soon as you open your mouth you'll spend the rest of your days next to El Guapo!"

Charo cries and Bertha tells Sleezar to leave "Chanis" alone, "she knows her hands without fingers and her mouth without a tongue would look horrible." Yikes, again with the fingers. As the two demons leave, Sleezar lifts Charo's dress and checks out her legs. Creep. Alone, Charo begs "diosito" for forgiveness and says she has to find some way to get Mr. Al out of jail.

Miranda must have told Al what Charo said because Al is all "Que???, that's not the truth. I wasn't talking to Gonzo when the shots were fired. I ran into the house and ran into that Guapo guy...hey, What if Cesar and Bertha are his accomplices?"

Vicente arrives with the news that Al is to be taken to prison as there is sufficient proof to charge him with homicide. There are Cesar and Bertha's declarations, and still more because the ballistics tests on them was negative, residue was found on neither of them, nor any other signs of that guy's blood that Alejandro mentioned. Al is starting to get testy, "But he was there, I shot him!"

Cesar breaks the news about Gonzo to Rebeca and Julio. He tells them the story of Gonzalo, Fernanda and Alfredo Luque, and about Al's plans of vengeance. He says that Alejandro used all of them boo hoo to carry out his revenge against Gonzalo and he is in jail for the murder, so there. Julio says, "Well excuse me, but frankly I don't believe it. There's more to this story and I'm going to find out what it is." Uh oh, sounds like dyin' words to me.

Fernanda tells Florencia of Gonzo's death and Flor weeps that she doesn't want to live. Fern says, you guessed it, "Be strong for your child." Flor wails, "But why, if papa is dead and brother Al is in jail?" Faby (remember him Flor?) says "Al will be out soon when they find out the truth; it's only a matter of time." About seven weeks to be specific.

Hey, Amparito is cleaning up after her own party? What's up with that? She and Francisco wonder why Renata didn't show up for the party, and then Juan got a ride on the angry train and left without telling them. Francisco doesn't blame Juan but Amparito says something must have happened. They hope nothing happened to Florencia which would explain the absence of both Renata and Fernanda. Nah...must've been something else.

Luciano tells Al that he is the only suspect but that everybody except Cesar and Bertha believe he is innocent. Al starts to lose it and Luciano tells him to stay calm, especially in front of the judge, keep a cool head and stop acting like a killer. Al tells Luciano to protect Miranda who is in grave danger because Guapo could return. He tells him to look in the cellar, the attic, anywhere where Guapo could have escaped and left signs of his wound. Luciano is to take complete control of SLI, trust Vicente and fire Luis Alberto immediately.

After Luciano leaves Al recalls the events of the murder and realizes that if Bertha and Cesar arrived at the scene so quickly they must have been there when Guapo shot Gonzalo.

We are in lovely Tabasco. Gabino is talking on the phone. It is Miranda with the sad news of el patron's death. He cries and says he'll tell the others. Arcaria and Nutty Naty enter. Arcaria is telling Naty, "Enough already about the birds crying for el patron." "It's the truth, and worse things are yet to come," portends Nutty. Gabino says Naty is right, he just spoke to Miranda and Don Gonzalo died. Nutty babbles, "Don Gonzalo didn't die, they killed him, the wind told the birds."

Cut to a trapped and panting Lucas and Bertha crying over Gonzalo's office supplies. "I never imagined I'd enjoy these moments with such intensity," she moans, caressing the letter opener. "I separated Miranda and Alejandro forever and I ended Gonzalo and his scorn. Miranda robbed me of Alejandro's love, Fernanda that of Gonzalo and Alfredo. And what of me?" Hey sicko, why give up now, if you stick around long enough you can wait for Alejandro's son, get another face lift and go after a third generation.

But no. In a green flashback Bertha remembers Al rejecting her. He says he loves Miranda and the wounds of love that go with it...wounds she will never experience. Back to reality she vows "Oh yes, I will know." Then proceeds to give herself a superficial chest wound and get positively orgasmic over her "herida de amor."

Juan visits Padre Santiago for marital advice, padre tells him that happiness, tranquility and prosperity are the responsibility of "dos" (Juan and Renata), not "dios" ha ha and if it's true love then fight for it. Enough said.

Carola rushes into the apartment holding a newspaper, she has terrible news. "Chivas lost!" gasps Francisco. OK, I'll admit I laughed. Carola reads the article about Gonzo's murder and that Al is detained as the suspect. Just then Juan arrives, Amparito tells him to go to Renata and Carola tells him that Alejandro killed Gonzo.

Arcario is arranging the floral bouquets that the neighbors are sending in memory of Gonzo and Nutty is still babbling about the birds. The eerie prophecy music starts and Nutty tells Gabino they have to make a path of white flowers and lit candles so when the patron returns he can find his steps. And I think she needs a marimba too.

Although Nutty can see into the future she doesn't do so well with the present because she trips over something, but not losing steam she continues, "He will come, he's going to come. He must be gathering his steps to give an account of all the good and the bad that he did. He's going to come. He will come."

Al tells Miranda and Vicente that Gonzo told him he had proof against Cesar and that he planned to unmask him in front of all. Miranda's lip trembles as the proof against Cesar mounts. Vicente says that Gonzo told him the same thing but not the details. The only thing he knows is that there were parallel accounts. Miranda confirms it. Alejandro tells Vicente to investigate and get Luciano to help him.

Miranda tells Alejandro that they are going to need a lot of money to get him out of jail. She hopes she's pregnant because... "No, no, Miranda" he objects, "I was thinking and I feel it's best that you don't have my child." Miranda is impactada.
