Caray, Caray!

So we start out with Rog breaking the news to Gab that Joz drugged him (Gab) and it was all planned so she could seduce him.

Otilia gathers together her everyday models & friends for a night-long-sewing-fiesta to replace all the clothes that were stolen.

Gab invites MA over to his place to tell her the awesome news! He didn’t cheat on her; he now knows what happened that night and wants to tell her all about it. She says, “no thanks, don’t wanna hear about your sordid “night” with Joz.“ he stops her so she can’t leave… he tells her he was drugged, Rog just told him, Rog’d been keeping it secret and that’s why he couldn’t remember anything that happened. He seems very relieved and happy… now they can go back to the way it was before all this happened and be together and everything. MA is impactada, drugged? In her confusion she lets him steal a passionate (so to speak) kiss. She stops things, what about the babies? She worries about him abandoning Alex, he shouldn’t trust him to Joz, he says he’ll never abandon his kids. She starts to leave, teary, saying she has to think about it, he tells her to think all she wants but follow what her heart dictates, she leaves…

Dolores remembers her conversation with Karen; how Karen doesn’t believe her willingness to care for her and love her w/o anything in return. Dol, speaking to herself, promises to help Karen learn to love and be a better person. Karen, at the mansion, remembers the conversation, simultaneously. She cries and, speaking to herself, says she doesn’t know if she will give Dol the opportunity to show her love, she is not sure she can trust her.

Joz is perched on the side of her bed looking at a magazine when MA bursts into her room. MA tells Joz she knows everything about how Joz drugged Gab, Joz doesn’t deny it but says, how dare she accuse her of that. MA says there is nothing too low for Joz to do and the worst thing is she feels sorry for Alex. MA says Joz is a threat to her own child. Joz grabs her, pushing her in front of the mirror and says she’s nothing more than a poor nothing of a person dressed-up rich. Miriam hurries in wondering -- what the he!!. MA says she knows Joz drugged Gab to get him into bed with her. Then, coming from a mile away, winding up the whole time, is Joz who slaps MA (who really should have been able to stop that slap or at least duck or something) MA slaps her back, ferociously, Joz looks impactada! MA warns her she’s gonna watch her to make sure she doesn’t hurt Alex. Joz screams, Perra!, at her a few times as MA takes off. Joz is enraged, Mir give her hand signals to calm down.

Rog is telling Gab he’s sorry and admits to being Joz’s accomplice in the drugging (is this bad editing? Isn’t this an extension of the conversation they had earlier when Rog told him about being drugged, aw well, suspension of disbelief kicking into overdrive, or at least getting a shot of adrenaline cuz I think it’s already in overdrive) Gab is impactado. How could you? he asks and adds that he hopes God will forgive him. Rog looks almost regretful (He couldn't be turning to the good side could he???).

Mir & Joz run over the same ol’ dialog – will MA & Gab get back together? And Mir reminds her of the same ol’ thing – Alex is the tie to Gab – Gab will never leave Alex – they deduce that Rog told MA and Gab for revenge for putting him in the big house.

MA is tempted to return to Gab and wonders why she feels maternal toward Joz’s baby.

Joz is calmly looking at her magazine on the couch at the mansion when Gab burst in. He says, how could you do something so contemptible. She says, he lefts her no other choice (WHAT, a confession!!!) they argue about it and he says he and MA are gonna get back together; she says she’ll never allow that. He tells her it’s gonna happen and they are gonna be happy just like they planned all along and she can’t stop it.

At that moment MA comes down the stairs with both boys (Alex and LD). Joz asks what they are dong with her son? Gab says he’s taking them out so they will know they’re brothers. He thanks MA for letting him take LD for a while. MA says she’s sorry she couldn’t go but somebody (and she looks pointedly at Joz) robbed all of Otilias clothes for the fashion show! Gab looks impactado – Joz looks fake impactada. MA goes on to say that Mir is the one who would benefit from such a robbery. Joz tells her she’ll have to talk to Mir about that and then jets (slowly so everyone can see her sway her hips) upstairs.

Pau and JC have just broken the happy news to Dam and Reg about the pregnancy. (I don’t know why they are telling everyone NOW! You’d think after their last pregnancy experience they’d wait for a little while to make sure everything was ok, wait this is a novela, that explains everything of course.) Pau says she’s gonna take care of herself in this pregnancy and hopes the days go by fast. Pau says they’re gong to be happy, happy forever and hugs Dam and Reg… JC sways back and forth in slow motion looking a little sad.

Joz tells Mir that MA is accusing them of having something to do with the robbery – Mir says she can’t prove it. Joz thinks it’s weird that Otilia hasn’t cancelled her participation in the fashion show, Mir says there is no one on earth that can help Otil now! Mir looks forward to being 1st place in the fashion world like always – Joz just wants to see MA ruined.

** Various scenes of Gab playing with the boys. A maid is with him, maybe one of the kids' real mom? Some other lady is there, maybe the daycare/play area director (or the other kids real mom?) She does some weird thing with LD’s legs which looks like physical therapy. Then a bunch of other cute little kids come in and they all play.**

The scene segues into him talking with Nic in the office saying he’s going to raise the boys together, not separate like him and Dam which caused resentment on Dam’s part. Nic agrees it’s a good idea. Nic tells him about Dol finding the remote control detonator in Dam’s home office – he wants the authorities to look into it. Gab wants to know what he suspects Dam of doing (DUH!) but before Nic can tell him Pau and JC come in to give them the happy pregnancy news. Gab is happy.

Dol and Karen meet – Karen is upset because they’re meeting secretly. Dol says she’s her Dad’s sister and would never hurt her – her Dad was a great man. Karen asks/says – then she’s nothing like him… Dol reassures her she’s a good person and if her Dad could have been around she would be more like him.

Rog goes to see Coyote in jail and is pleased with the info Coy has given him. Coy tells him that’s barely any of what his uncle has done. There is a ton more and if Rog brings him more money he’ll give more info. Rog looks very pleased.

Otilia oversees her ladies as they re-sew all the clothes that were stolen – they are finally done and MA, Otil & Candy chat about working all night and they can’t wait for the fashion show.

Mir is in the back checking things out at the fashion show and bumps into Otilia. Otilia says Mir just won’t believe what happened to her! Some dirty stinking rats (I swear Otilia makes this show worth watching) broke into her casa de modas and stole all her clothes for the fashion show! But her and her pals worked like crazy and have an even better set of styles than before – Mir - looks a little sick but wishes her all the luck cuz she's gonna need it. Otilia tells her luck and clients is what she’s drowning in… oooh, take that Mir!

Meanwhile, a man has come to Dam’s house with some paperwork and lets him know that he’s suspected of the attempt on Gabs life and he has to come down to the police station to submit a statement.

Silvestre, dressed in a suit, comes to tell Leo that they’ve won the lotto! (Good grief and a groan, but anyway...) They are both impactados. Silvestre says with that money he can marry Elsa. Leo’s gonna give it to a good cause (ok, I love Leo, sorta, but he's so syrupy that he makes me wanna barf). They run to go find Candy (another thing that makes me wanna barf).

Karen and JC bump into each other at the fashion show. He tells her the good news about the baby saying it’s something for him to cling to. She tells him about her chat w/Dol and that she’s not sure about changing her ways. He tells her to follow her heart and they hug. (Yikes, is Karen changing to a good guy, too? The show must be ending soon then, right?)

Rogelio goes to Tib at the strip-club to do the obvious novela thing, inform him that he’s going to turn him in. He tells Tib that he has to pay him back for everything he took from him. Tib gives him the evil novel-guy routine of: you’re not going to say anything cuz I’ve got too much on you and you’re Dad will take away all your money, evil smirk. He tells him all of that as he’s making out with a stripper. Then, Rog starts his Rog-revenge and tells him, oh, btw, Coyote says hi. Tib stops in mid-makeout and says, Who? He then pushes away the stripper. Tib straightens his hair, carefully not to touch his toupee, and Rog says, yeah, Coyote told me some interesting stuff in the big house, now we’ll see who laughs last. Tib starts hyperventilating.

The fashion show commences. They had a presenter, Hector Sandarti – he introduces the judges for the show, Armando something, Dauria (sp?) Moreno and Luis Ignacio Macias (are these presenters/fashion people in the real world?). He then introduces Mir and Otil who come out onto the stage. He wishes them both luck and the competition officially begins. There are various scenes of the models, Candy and Mayaya strutting their stuff on the catwalk while Leo goes crazy from the sidelines.

Elsa backstage sees someone with a glass of wine and can’t help herself – she grabs a glass and gulps it down. Mayaya catches her and grabs the empty glass. Elsa wipes her mouth as Candy comes around the corner then wipes her hands over her hair – no one will smell it on her now (ugh!) – she gets Candy her next outfit, Candy rushes off (in an elderly lady way) and Mayaya lays into Elsa for drinking. Elsa makes some lame excuse about being tired… then looks guilty. Mayaya warns that she’ll be watching her.

Meanwhile, Dam is at the police station, (sin abogado!), and they quiz him about the remote. He says he only uses it for work at the constructoria, videos and stuff like that, he can prove it – they want to see that proof. He asks who denounced him – and they TELL HIM (!!!) Dol & Nic (Dam gives an evil look). The detectives bring out another denunciation, this one anonymous saying something about the table dance place – I didn’t catch exactly what or if they thought Dam had to do with it.

Back at the fashion show Pau models a high fashion dress.

The police raid the strip club then shut it down – Tib’s impactado.

Dam shows up at the fashion show and tells Reg about Dol and Nic denouncing him – Reg is impactada… (I guess the table dance denunciation doesn’t have anything to do with Dam at this point)

At the strip club, again, Tib is furious they’ve shut the place down. They tell him to let them do their job… they’re posting a notice on the door “Clausuar”

In the big fashion showdown, MA & Joz strut their designs on the cat walk… MA wearing a low plunging v-neckline (if that’s what you can call it) in hot pink and Joz wearing a bustier type dress (not really unusual for her) with a train and stripes. They come out again, this time Joz looks like the Ice Queen in a white fir necklined/Cinderella-like dress (sorry, I’m not a fashionista in the least so I have no idea what these particular types of dresses and accessories are really called) and MA is wearing a more moderate but stylish black/red form fitting dress. Joz gets off the stage, walks past the judges, around the crowd, (who are on their feet just bedazzled over the whole show) grabs Gab and starts kissing him furiously… MA is impactada…

Present company excepted of course! On with the recap...

Don Loco paces Soledad's cell. Flor/Alina is hiding behind the wardrobe door. He asks Soledad "who is with you?" He sees two glasses. She says one is for water and one is for wine. He smells them. What an ass. He looks around and puts his hand on the wardrobe door. Soledad sees Flor's shoes under the wardrobe door!

Gaspar is praying in church. He's asking God to help him find his little doll. The padre smiles, thinking "how cute, the mentally challenged man has a little dollie." He says "your little doll?" and hold his hands 8" apart. Gaspar says, "Yes, I hold her in my arms and kiss kiss kiss." The padre is all "WTF?"

Adela enters Soledad's cell and tells Don Loco the food is ready. She's trying to run interference for Soledad. He leaves and locks the door. Flor is locked in.

Elias (Flor's godfather) thought bubbles "Soledad where are you?"

Alfonsina is splayed out on the floor pretending to wash it, she's showing a lot of shoulder and a lot of leg. She's one sultry momma. Hugo grabs her. She tells him he's a good man, not like the Patron who no longer pays attention to her. They make out under a portrait of the scowling Don Loco. Personally, I think Alfonsina is hotter (and scarier) than Thelma, but I'd like the gentlemen to weigh in on this one.

Jaime is getting Orlando's horse ready for a ride. Orlando asks about Flor. After he rides off Jaime remembers he forgot to warn him about the whirlpool!

Santos and Rosita are back in the sack for a little afternoon delight. Don Maximo rides up and Santos comes to the door. Don Maximo orders him back to work. He asks about Rosita and Santos wonders "what in the hell does that old fart want with her?" He tells Rosita to watch out for Maximo.

Orlando sees Gaspar by the river and yells "Where's the girl?" He rides into the whirlpool and falls off his horse. He's trapped in the remolino!! Gaspar saves him as an invisible choir sings its crescendo.

Emilio accuses Angel of being jealous. Angel denies it and says Emiliano treated Flor badly. Emilio promises not to bother Flor in the future. Right.

Flor says she has to get out of Soledad's room otherwise Luba and Gaspar will worry about her. She starts to tell Soledad about Emiliano AGAIN and gets all goopy. It's gross.

Don Loco asks Rutilo who is the stupid fool who helped Flor to escape? Rutilo says nobody at the haciendo would disobey the patron's orders. Sergio is skulking and eavesdropping. After Rutilo leaves he tells Don Loco that Rutilo is up to something. Don Loco tells Sergio the ratfink to keep an eye on Rutilo.

Coral's friends are getting restless. They're tired of being cooped up with only their CFM shoes, skimpy dresses, booze and each other.

Don Loco goes back to Soledad's prison (room) and Flor hides again. He tells Soledad he'll kill them both if Flor tries to escape again. Soledad tells him he gets crazier every time she sees him. After he leaves Flor asks her mom if he really meant it. Here's an idea, why don't you poison him just in case?

Don Loco hears Soledad's words in his head...loco...loco...loco...

Gaspar has taken Orlando back to the cave so Luba can help him. Orlando kind of insults the cave and Luba kind of insults him back. He asks if they live there alone. Flor walks in and says, "no sir, I live here too." Orlando is impactado.

He starts talking about Emilio and Luba gives a big, wide, obvious yawn. He changes the subject and tells Flor he hopes they can be friends. Luba is very funny in this scene.

Angel asks the housekeeper Vera to tell him more about Flor. He says he would like to help Flor. Vera gets very excited and jumps all over the offer, but Emilio enters and she leaves. He tells Angel he doesn't want to hear her name in the house. Angel looks at his portrait of Flor.

Orlando introduces himself to Flor, he is just a lowly lieutenant and at her service. She says her name is Flor, she is the daughter of a foreman. She was abandoned as a child and Luba and Gaspar adopted her so she lives in the cave. Orlando says not all men are like Emiliano Valtierra. (Luba rolls her eyes throughout this conversation) To him a woman is simply a woman and has his complete respect. He kisses Flor's hand, Flor smiles, Luba scowls.

Don Loco has flashbacks to the early, happy days of his marriage, then he convinces himself he was betrayed as was Soledad's father, blah blah blah. I wish he'd shoot himself and put himself out of our misery.

Luba tells Flor that all men are alike, they start out as gentlemen then remove their masks to reveal the cobra underneath. They are worse than dogs! In fact, dogs are good, intelligent, good-hearted. That's our Donkey all right!! She must be reading our comments! Luba tells Flor to beware of this new gentleman, he's like all the others. Gaspar pipes up, he doesn't like him either.

Orlando has returned to La Rinconada. He tells Emilio that even though he was caught in the whirlpool he's not hurt, in fact he's positively euphoric. The idiot Gaspar saved him and took him to his cave. Orlando is being the king of gloat and Emilio is getting irritated. Heh heh. Orlando says he saw a delicious and enchanting creature, Flor del Campo.

Flor recalls Don Loco's words and she asks Donkey what to do. Orlando! He wants to be her friend, he'll help her.

Emilio is once again dreaming of kissing Flor and he is once again sulking. Orlando walks in and does that thing that makes grumpy people grumpier, he tells him not to be in such a bad mood. He says Emilio must be thinking of...Thelma. Dohhh! Just when Emilio had forgotten. To twist the knife Orlando says he's very interested in the cave girl Flor. Emilio leaves in a huff and Orlando calls him an imbecile.

Flor is gathering herbs when Emilio, in uniform, runs up and forces her to kiss him. He's such a charmer. "So we meet again," he says. Charming and original. Five long seconds later she pushes him away. They have the stolen necklace versus stolen kiss argument again. She says she is trespassing on his land to pick herbs to treat her doggie that his Uncle Maximo tried to kill. She says he and Don Maximo are just rich guys who exploit their workers. He tries to hold her and she runs off.

Marianita visits Estrellita who is much worse. Estrellita's mother tells Mariana that Estrellita is dying. Marianita tries to cheer Estrellita up by telling her not to lose hope and giving her her hat. When the mothers come in they find Marianita laying next to Estrellita to comfort her. Marianita leaves her special hat for Estrellita to wear.

Central America - A hot, foxy guerilla chica sits down next to Jose. She says she is Felicia, sister to the head honcho. "Oh, great," says Jose, rolling his eyes. She says he is chained to the bed because he tries to escape. Jose says he doesn't want to join them. Felicia touches his chin and says she likes stubborn guys like him. She's trouble in tight pants.

Don Loco is riding around his coffee plantation whipping a poor, skinny peon in the face for not ratting out Rutilo. By comparison, Emilio rides his field expressing concern that his workers labor hard and earn little.

Back in the cave Flor is waxing romantic about Emilioooo's kiss. "Emilioooo, I love you when I should hate you for judging me badly."

Emilio tells Don Maximo he wants to go over the workers' wages. He's shocked at what he sees, they are so very low, at the poverty level! Starting tomorrow he will double their wages. Don Max chokes on his cigar, "Que que que?? Nephew, you're crazy!" "No tio, that's why they say you're robbing them," says Emilio. After he leaves Don Max tells Braulio to increase the wages by 30 percent, not 100 percent.

Emilio's buddies are drinking and talking about a fair tomorrow for the workers. There will be games and activities. Orlando says "she'll like that." "Who?" they all ask. Orlando says it will be a surprise.

Soledad and Adela are looking at pictures of little Alina. Soledad and Adela wonder if Jose will ever return and help clear Soledad's name. Soledad says her only hope now is Elias, Elias could help them.

Speaking of which, Elias asks Blanca if there is any news? He's been thinking of Soledad and Alina. "Ahhhh...thinking of Soledad?" she asks pointedly. "Aw shucks honey, she's just a friend, OUR friend," he says. Blanca says she hasn't forgotten he was in love with her. Elias says ever since she married Don Loco they have been Just Friends. He says his work is about finished and at the end of the week they can visit the plantation and investigate.

Flor tells Rosita that she ran into Emilianoooo again. She made him mad by telling him he was rich and he exploited his workers. They traded insults and spit.

Emilio dreams and rants.

Don Maximo tells Braulio to tell the workers it was he who increased their wages, not Emilio. He grabs a yellow rosebud and asks Braulio how is Rosita? "Tell her to come and clean my office tomorrow." He says to the rose, "Rosita, by luck, by money, or by misfortune you will be mine (kisses rose) all mine."

Don Loco, who has nothing better to do than whip his workers and watch Soledad, asks Soledad why she is crying. She's looking at pictures of better days. Surprise! He threatens her again.

Orlando, who loves to dig at everyone, tells Coral that their dear friend Emiliano, who has always been popular with the ladies, is interested in a little Flor. "Flor???" asks Coral. Remember, that's what he called her yesterday.

Don Loco, out riding and tormenting his peons, sees a couple kissing on the hillside. He thinks it's Soledad and Jose. He takes out his gun and aims. But it's not blonde Soledad, it's a dark-haired worker who pleads with him not to shoot her boyfriend. Don Loco hears Soledad's words, "Loco...loco...loco..."

Flor walks along a dusty path. Someone arrives on horseback but we cannot see who it is. She looks up and says "You??" ("Usted?")

Abitcia, Helmut head, and Marcia, the wicked witches of the DF, eat dinner and T tells M it’s important that you keep Fer away from Lety at all costs.

At Sanctuario, Saimon hugs Fer as his friend, his brother, my bloodbrother. Fer asks him what’s going on with him. Saimon looks at the club and says nothing it’s just that this isn’t a place to come pray or confess your sins! He thinks they see eye to eye now. Saimon is upset because he thinks PM lied to him. He thinks she is inside and he thinks she’s dancing with Don Segundo (the guy of the moment), someone that is not him, Fer says nor me. Saimon gets wigged out about this, and wants to know what he said, but Fer tells him to calm down, I didn’t say anything, don’t make up that I said something. Saimon keeps pacing not quite sure he believes Fer. F - Stop it you are making me crazy. S – Well it’s just that you don’t know how it feels to think that your love is inside dancing with someone else face to face, breast to breast, murmuring things in the ears …Fer tells him to shut up….Saimon says then you do know….this doesn’t look like a sanctuary. Fer agrees.

M- Fer won’t get near her because Lety promised me she wouldn’t repeat the same mistake. A- And you believed her? M- Yes because she doesn’t want to be anywhere near him. She doesn’t believe in him and she doesn’t even want to work with him. A-Yeah, but what if that traitor Omar tells the moustached corncake everything. Marcia dismisses that because Omar wrote the letter so he’s not going to tell her now that what he put in there isn’t true. Lety isn’t going to believe him anyway. She still thinks this whole thing was concocted by Omar she has no idea that Fer really fell in love with her. Marcia says of course, Fer’s got no way to prove that he’s in love with Lety, she won’t believe him or Omar, and there are no other witnesses. Little brained Tere volunteers that there are witnesses, we three all know the truth that he fell in love with her. Alicia mumbles (did she spit crums?) A true example of a high class woman indeed, talking with her mouth full of food. “Oh for gosh sakes, but we aren’t such imbeciles [chomp chomp] that we are going to tell the Garnacha that.” Can you imagine one of us telling her that? She mocks if they did and gets all wide eyed. This seems interesting to me, I wonder if Alicia might slip someday… Tere then says ooopty doopty, I guess we have to believe her word. If she was so offended by Fer, well then surely she’ll keep her word. Alicia is not convinced. Mmmhmm, she manages to spit out, yeah maybe she will. But what about Fer? Who will guarantee that Fer will stay away from her? [It’s Simon of course, definitely Simon….]

Simon is already imagining all the men coming up to PM because she’s so fine, so provocative (I’d say so in her crocheted white halter). Fer says like always, Simon says what???? Fer covers by saying it doesn’t look like a sanctuary here Simon Joseph Contrary. S corrects him no Contreras. Fer says yes, you're right, no we can’t leave them alone. S- Of course not, now you understand me so let’s go and get them.

M- Fer promised he wouldn’t go near Lety. Alicia thinks that’s perfect, because he’s been so responsible, truthful, and kept his promises so well before, wink, wink, he’s never told you a lie before. Her dessert comes. She asks if it’s “Light.” You know, for once I’m thinking that Alicia is actually a voice of reason here. I guess if you give her enough food her mind expands a little. Marci however looks like something is stuck. Tere says well then there’s only one way out and that’s to trust Lety and Fer, they promised you they wouldn’t get near each other, so that’s your opportunity to move in close to him. You can’t keep thinking this will fail, or you’ll drive yourself nuts. You have to get it there and get him, I’m right, no Alicia? Hmmm she mumbles with her mouth full of dessert. These three are pathetic. They need serious whacks upside their heads.


Back at the “Sanctuary” Fer turns around midstream and decides he can’t go in because the cuartel will see him. Saimon wants to know why his blood brother changed his mind and begs him to come in. He says it’s not a problem for the cuartel to see him, now they have the same ideals, are the same emotion, we’re on another level, we’re both academics and men of fashion. Fer says he knows, here’s what were are going to, he’ll give Saimon money to get a taxi and take his queen somewhere else and bribes him that he hasn’t seen Fer here. Saimon sees green (or is it red for pesos?) and agrees and goes in.


The cuartel is still cackling it up Lola freaks out that she lost her glasses, but all of a sudden a very serious Sara wants to know how Lety could be such a bad friend that she left them without a single word about what happened. Lety begs them to forgive her, but when she left it was the worst and all she wanted to do was get out of there and disconnect herself and forget everything.

The two men wonder if PM and Lety are going to sit and talk the whole time or are going to dance. PM says yes, and gets up to dance, asking Lety to come too. Irma tells PM to do as Lety who really respects her boyfriend, Tomas. Lety says he’s actually not my boyfriend. The cuartel is impactado. PM asks who broke up with whom. Lety says we are actually such good friends that he couldn’t be my boyfriend, and some gossip, he’s coming to work at Conceptos tomorrow. More impactados.

Mr. Slick takes PM’s seat, putting his arm on the back of the chair and asks Lety again if she’ll dance with him, doesn’t she like dancing? She says that’s not it, she is talking with her friends she hasn’t seen in a while. So Mr. Slick asks for her phone number instead. She says, no, trying to figure out how to explain it, she says it’s that I’m engaged and holds up her beach found ring.

Just then Saimon turns up inside and Lety stops her explanation midstream. He greets everyone and wonders where PM is. The cuartel fake that she’s in the bathroom. He asks where it is. They tell him he can’t go in the girl’s anyway. Mr. Slick asks Lety who he is and she tells him the boyfriend of the girl dancing with your friend. Doh! And then…..drum roll please….Don Fer says buenas noches!! Ahhh, he found his cajones after all and decided to come in anyway. Good boy Fer. OK, the cuartel is really impactado now, mostly because they wouldn’t expect to find their fine boss in a place like that, nor would they want him checking up on them.

Back at the swingers’ table Luigi continues on about the horrible change that took place at Conceptos and that they say Fer and Mar are back together, but nothing is clear to him, he says there’s such a commotion and a whir at Conceptos it’s a like a waterspout ( tornado like) a waterspout named Lety “Nightmare” [Padilla=Pesadilla] Solis, he’s mad at himself for even remembering that platypus. Ok, that’s it. Aldo’s patience for him is thinner than I thought. Oh ye of little faith. Here you go Aldo fans….redemption, he tells Luigi how ugly he speaks of other people. Luigi says, well it’s just that you don’t know her, my king. Aldo says look, if anyone spoke badly of you, I’d be the first to defend you. Lui likes the sound of that, as he coyly ducks behind his fan.

At the sanctuary things are getting less “sancticious” (Irma says do unto others as you would do to yourself). The cuartel asks why Fer’s here. He says he brought Saimon. Simon starts to say something about him initiating the whole deal, but Fer cuts him off. They go back and forth with this, (I love the tennis match heads) but Fern wins when Saimon sees his PM dancing with the other guy. He loses it. She pretends her partner obligated her to dance and smiles.

Aldo says he’ll pay since he chose the restaurant. He leaves the table to congratulate the chef because he liked the salsa agridulce. While he is gone, Lui tells Caro what a guy he is, and what he said. What flattery. He’s all excited that he’s going to have him around everyday. He begs pardon from Rully that he’s thinking these thoughts about Aldo and asks Caro to say something. She says “Rully.” He gets frustrated.


Back at the sanctuary the cuartel try to restrain Saimon. Irma yells at PM that she doesn’t resist temptation. Lety asks the waiter for the check that they are going to go now. Mr Slick asks Lety not to go yet. She tells him maybe he should leave. He calls her touchy. Fer hears this and takes the opportunity to assert his machismo by shushing him and telling him to respect the Senorita as he leans in over her to get in the guys face. They get close and almost want to kiss, but they don’t. Lety says he better go because this guy is more touchy than she is and is prepared to beat people like a savage. Mr Slick buckles, he’s not going to mess with “Assertive Fern.”

The cuartel congratulates Fer. F- I’m going to the bathroom. Simon turns to PM and says that he sees with his own eyes how she betrays him dancing chest to chest etc.. He pulls the guy over. She tries to tell him that the guy is her cousin from Veracruz, he says Monterrey, well born in Veracruz and lives in Monterrey…Saimon doesn’t believe her. He tells her in front of all this that their relationship is over!

At the restaurant Luigi thanks Gui for the confidence and it was a pleasure to meet him. Lui says goodbye, with a special emphasis to Aldo, and calls him darling, that he’ll see him tomorrow. Caro makes fun of it to Aldo.


PM yells at her partner, “Don’t touch me. Because of you I lost my grillito.” Simon says good bye to the traitors, meaning the girls. PM insists she was behaving. Irma tells Simon, look he just came to get her to dance and she danced and that’s it. That’s all that happened. Lety says let’s go because I paid the check. Saimon says it's better that you take her because he is going to stay at the sanctuary. Sara starts arguing with Saimon didn't he listen to the President, she said we are all going! You offended her. He says she didn't say that, but Sara says well I did, and so did the whole cuartel. Sara says she's going to chop his moto and his empty bottle into little pieces like this. He tells her don’t mess with my Moto and my empty bottle, besides I didn’t bring it. Irma says let's go, that this furnace is not in good humor.

Lety says until tomorrow Don Fer, Fer says he’s coming with her, there’s no way he’s going to pray in this “sanctuary.”

Simon tells her she’ll go in a taxi because he’s a gentleman but... PM - What happened to the moto, did you leave it with the Oxi? Sara tells him to step up and go arrange for the taxis. He tells her only my ex-Paulette Marie can order him around. Roller Derby chick busts out and says oh yeah? He decides it’s not worth it and he goes to negotiate with the taxis.

Fer- Lety I want to talk to you. No I don’t want them to wait for me. Please it’s important, just for a moment. They tell her that she should talk to him and not be rude.

F-Lety since you left Conceptos we haven’t been able to speak. L- We have nothing to say to each other. F- NO on the contrary we have a lot of important things left to clear up. I’ve waited for this moment with great emotion. L- You came to accompany Simon, not to talk to me. F- No, I came with Simon because I knew you would be here. There are many things that I want to tell you. Look, I didn’t write that letter you read, you know that. She knows, she says you didn’t write any of those cards you gave me either. L -I know those weren’t your phrases of love either. He says it’s not like that, she says no you look, there’s no point. Your business is saved and when the debts are paid off you’ll get it back You don’t have to give me any explanations, besides I didn’t ask for any. He begs her not to walk away, he's not finished.


Ok, I have to crack up at the somewhat useless doorman that does nothing but lift his hand to guide the entrants to the restaurant in the direction that they already know they have to go because it’s the only direction to go, in. But he’s earnest in his guiding endeavours, so I suppose I should give him credit for that.

Oh my Gosh, and so now because they’ve got us all caught up they simply have to break to Aldo wishing he could tell Lety once and for all how in love with her he is. He asks his cell phone how she would take this. And the cell phone tells him she’ll run to him with arms wide open and beg him to have his baby. No, just kidding, well what would you expect a cell phone to say, ding-a-ling? Thank goodness that’s his only line and we can get back to Fer and Lety.


L -Bad, very bad Don Fer. I think it’s bad because I don’t want to talk to you. Fer - I know you hate me and I’m sorry for grabbing you. I understand how you feel about me but we are going to be together for six months. L -No, no we’ll only see each other when there’s a committee meeting and that’s how it will stay. F - No I can’t be away from you, uh Conceptos that much. I’m not going to stand here with my arms crossed either, it’s that I, Conceptos…..

L -Look Fer tell me what you want from me. F - I know it’s hard but I don’t want you to hate me. I’m aware of my errors and I know I’ve behaved like an imbecile. Only God knows how horrified I am about the bad things I did. I am paying for my mistakes in the worst way you can imagine for all of my shortcomings. You know the whole world was against me and that’s the best thing that could have happened, even though I tore apart too many people, people that I cared about.


Look Don Fer, before I came here to confront all of this I already forgave you. He tries to grab her as if to hug her. I really don’t hate you anymore I forgave your betrayal, your false caresses, your fake cards, even that you came to my house and yelled at my Dad, screaming I’d steal your business. Lety I didn’t know where you were. I was beside myself. I didn’t know what to do, or what you wanted.

I’ll even pardon you for meddling with my family. My family is the most sacred thing that I have. You’ll get my pardon on one condition, that you leave me alone. F – Fine, but you have to know that you are standing in front of someone who has changed. I don’t want you to think of me as the person that caused you so much pain. Instead I want you to think of me as a man who is learning the hardest lesson of his life.

L- I’m not going to think of you at all. I don’t want anyone to know that you were here with me. F - Well that’s going to be difficult since there are so many witnesses. L- I’ll talk to them but I don’t want Marcia to know you spoke with me. I don’t want her to be hurt anymore or for her to be afraid that we’re going to get together again, or that your relationship is jeopardized because of me. I can only imagine how difficult it was to get back together with her and that she took you back. What relationship Lety, things aren’t as they…L- Fer, I don’t need explanations, now I don’t need them anymore. We’ll see each other at the hearing tomorrow.

Ah, look, Lety damn it, this is going to sound ridiculous, and I probably shouldn't even say it, but you have to know this: I still love you, I still love you with all the strength of my soul!!!!!!!!!!! Ahhhh! I understood that right away of course, but I still had to repeat listening to it over and over and over! How lovely that he finally fesses up!!!!!!!!!!!! Did anyone else get goosebumps?

He continues - Please it’s the truth, do you believe me? I’m really in love. Do you believe me it’s the truth. L- Oh please, how could you possibly think that I’d believe you. It’s obvious you haven’t changed a bit, but I’ve changed and now I don’t need you telling me pretty things to make myself feel good. I’ve learned to love myself and to respect myself around others. F - Lety, please I respect you, and if the problem is Marcia [Look gang, forget, PG and Juana, I’m telling you this chic is the real psychic, or maybe Fern just screws up so much the odds are in her favor that he’ll be screwing up when she tries to reach him.] His cell rings. She tells him to answer it, surely it’s Marcia checking up on him, answer it. Saimon yells that the taxis are ready. Lety leaves and rejoins the group. Fer tells the air he loves Lety. He still loves Lety. Lety admonishes the cuartel to not tell anyone he was there. They discuss it a little saying you know how Mar is, Juana says she'll cut him off, and kill him and re-kill him. Irma says he and Mar have a beautiful relationship, but Lety says, "it will end up uglier than I am, so come on let’s go and not say anything."

M calls back and he answers and proceeds to lie methodically, as if he were pre-programmed to answer in that particular manner. Same old, same old. He says he’s in a bar by himself, well, no with Omar which is about the same. He asks if she is with his Mom, she says yes they are leaving and she is on her way home. He says he’ll meet her there then. Darn, he really hasn’t changed.

Tere chimes in to ask where he was. A-Is he behaving? M-It looks like it. They get ready to leave.

Caro thinks it would be good if he spoke with Lety to tell her that he is now goingto have an office at Conceptos thanks to Luigi Lombardi. He says of course she’s the first person he’d want to tell about that.

Lety gets home and is startled by Robopop who waited up for her. He says it’s late and asks who brought her here, she says she came in a taxi with her friends. Pop says I know your Mom says you’ve changed, so now I have to change, but as long as you live in this house you will follow my regular rules. She agrees that she will, she loves living in this house with her family. He says now that he knows she’s home ok, he can go to bed, he’s not the spirit ...

How are you. What a face. Lety starts to fill in her Mom on the scene at the meeting and Marci’s reaction. She laughs her little laugh thinking it’s pretty funny to hear when bad things happen to bad people.

Aldo walking home contemplates his good fortune to be back near Lety again.

Now Lety is a rehasher. Julieta wants her to retell. She tells her that they cancelled the wedding after she left. She said but they're back together again, she must have gotten over the resentment and forgave him when he told her he didn’t really care about me. J- Do you think they’ll get married? If so the next six months are going to be horrible. You should keep that man as far away from you as possible. She tells her mom that she’ll try but guess what he said; he said, that they had many things to discuss, and he’s changed and that he still loves her, and… Mom thinks maybe little by little he… Lety immediately negates that idea and says he’s a manipulator, you don’t know him, so there is no way. She still thinks he’s buttering her up because the business is still in her hands. Juli tells her she really has to keep him miles away then, because he won’t leave her alone. She says you still feel something for him, though, don’t you. Busted. Moms always know, even though they don’t let you know they know.

Back at Marcia apartment Fer arrives he thinks he lost Lety forever. Just then Marci calls for him. He goes in to her, she’s packing up her veil. She asks how it went and where he was. He said he was in a bar and he can’t remember the name. She continues spinning the veil around in circles like wringing a rag. She throws down the box, doesn’t seem like she values this. She tells him where she was. He asked if there was an occasion for the dinner. She says he doesn’t know? F- Let me guess, what’s going to happen to Conceptos in Lety’s hands, no? M- Yes, and how affected you were by seeing her again. M tells him it was his Mom’s concern, she didn’t want to touch that subject. She tells him his Mom is worried about what will happen to the two of them. He is upset that they were talking about his private life. She tells him she had to talk about it. He tells her, “Great my intimate life is in the hands of Alicia Ferreira.” Marcia counters that hers is in the dirty mouth of Omar! [Good point]

Oh for Pete’s sake, she did not paint Aldo on her wall!!!!!!! Man, that’s like so adolescent, like pictures of Scott Baio or David Cassidy all over your wall. Oh, ok, it was an apparition of the omnipotent Aldo and it goes away in time. Thank goodness! I for one couldn’t sleep if something like that was on my wall. I’d feel like I was being watched. Yuk. She says how beautiful it is to have him near.

Marcia is worried about what’s going to happen to them now that Lety is back because she didn’t know things would change this way with her now being around again. He tells her, “You know I can’t get back with her. Things don’t work between us.” He says she’s not the same Lety as before. He tells her she doesn’t want him or Omar around so he’ll hardly even see her so what’s the problem. "I don’t see the problem.” So she confirms that he got rid of the idea that he’ll get back together with her. He says no chance. She says fine, let me put away a few things and I’ll be back with you. She says he wouldn’t care about some things and she should throw them in the trash, but she plans to save them for a little while. She asks him why he feels so bad. He gets freaked out about the theme of the wedding and Marcia calms him by kissing him. They kiss. And kiss. And she won’t talk about it anymore. And he looks ready to go for more. Thankfully she pulls away. Lety’s thoughts ramble on in the background…. Fer falls asleep as he reads “Icons” and Mar looks at him. He wakes then looks at her as she sleeps.

In her bunny suit Lety runs with Moty in a park in Mexico City at night, yeah right. I guess she’s safe with the filmcrew shining bright lights on her, but without them, she wouldn’t be out there, I’m sure.

She thought-bubbles: How terrible it was to learn that Fer got back with Mar. I thought I was prepared to deal with that because I knew it would happen, but I’m not. It’s logical that with everything that happened he would try to get back together with her. It’s logical but the heart goes against the brain and mine skipped a beat like crazy when I saw his face and heard his voice. My heart really doesn’t want to let him go. Lety tells herself she has to be strong and Aldo has to help her. She has to keep herself away from Fer and she has to keep her promise to Marcia because it’s a way of keeping her promise to herself. She only hopes that he doesn’t keep looking for her because it hurts her so much. She wonders how after all he did to her he could still try to take advantage of her.

Emilio presents Flor/Alina to his dinner guests. This, by the way, is one screwed up party, destined to be a flop. It consists of the boring, self-absorbed Emilio and his sickly artist brother who doesn't want to be present, Emilio's idiot co-workers/friends, Don Maximo the lech, the weird neighbors Don Loco and his long-suffering wife Soledad, the guest of honor (Flor/Alina) who was kidnapped instead of invited, and don't forget the passle of prostitutes who are relegated to the upstairs and not even allowed to come down for dinner. OK, on with the show. Don Loco and Soledad are impactados to see Flor/Alina. Soledad tries to run to Flor but Don Loco impedes her.

Flor sees her parents and tells Emilio she's outta there, but Soledad says, "Miss, please have a seat at the table." Flor agrees and Emilio seats her. Don Maximo claps his hands and says, "Let the dinner be served! Let's toast the muñequita de pastel." Which means, I think, "let's toast the little sweetheart in pastel", but "pastel" also means cake and in that dress Flor kind of looks like a cake.

Mariana prays to the virgin to have mercy on Marianita and to bring Jose back to them. Meanwhile Arcadio helps Jose escape from the drug runner's shed where he is held captive. If Jose had seen Arcadio put his secret letter in his pocket right in front of the drug lord earlier he might not be so eager to have his incompetent buddy help him out. So far every idea Arcadio has had has gotten Jose seriously injured.

Don Loco takes Don Maximo aside and asks, "what in the hell is this game?" Don Max asks why Don Loco is so angry. The girl isn't his and doesn't he want to see her suffer? Don Loco says it's none of his business. Don Max seems amused.

Thelma has a nightmare of Gaspar making love to her. She wakes up screaming. She tells Auntie she wants to forget "that man" but she can't. She's afraid her baby will also be mentally retarded. Auntie tells her to stop worrying, the baby will probably be beautiful and healthy, just like Thelma and Auntie.

Flor is at the table silently praying to God to save her mother and her. She knows that if any of the guys mess with her that her mother will defend her like a fiera. And if Soledad tells them who she really is then her father will kill her mother without compassion. I think she gives all of them way too much credit.

Jose escapes but as he runs away one of the drug runners shoots him in the leg. At that moment Mariana grabs her chest and asks the virgin to remove the anguish she just felt. The drug dude tells Jose if he tries to escape again he'll kill both Jose and Arcadio.

Don Maximo's two flunkies, Ifigenio and Castulo, are outside talking about how Flor is a guest so she can be humiliated. Gaspar, who is hiding in the yard, hears them and vows to save her.

The dismal dinner is over and Emilio ushers everybody into the salon. His friends must not know that Coral and her dancer friends are upstairs, otherwise they would be excusing themselves every ten minutes to "freshen up" if you know what I mean, nudge nudge wink wink.

Emilio keeps Flor behind and she asks if he's done with his game yet. He says, "It's no game my dear friend." She says she's not his friend, he's hated her from the moment he saw her. Emilio says no, he doesn't hate her, it's just that she reminds him of...of someone and he doesn't like it. They mindlessly argue. He asks why people speak badly of her, even the witch in the cave said she was a thief. She calls him a cynic and tries to leave. He grabs her and acts like he's going to kiss her.

Marianita tells her mom that she had a good dream. They were with papi in a boat, she felt well and had long, long hair like before. The injured Jose lies on his cot and looks at a picture of M&M. He says it seems as if he will never see them again. He cries, his muscles bulge and it looks like he's about to bust his shirt. He should probably take it off.

Flor demands that Emilio let her go. He says no way, she's going into the salon with him. He'd like to see if she learned her lesson. (I wonder if Flor is as confused about this "lesson" business as I am. I think Schoolmarm is right, the lead in their decanters is making all the men insane.) Flor says he's mistaken, she's not submissive. He says Flor is in his hands and can't leave until he says so. Flor closes her eyes and looks like she wants to take a nap.

Gaspar throws a rock to make some noise. Castulo is lured over to where Gaspar is hiding behind a tree. Gaspar does a lucha libre move and knocks Castulo out!! Ifigenio takes out a gun and looks around suspiciously.

Emilio and Flor bicker some more. Flor says she's not like the girls he's used to, Emilio says "None of them would do what you did, you stole the heart necklace." Soledad leaves the fascinating salon where the guys are playing pool and Don Loco is scowling. She asks Emilio what's going on. When Flor leaves them to go into the salon Soledad tells Emilio that the girl is not who he thinks.

Emilio says he knows exactly who she is. Soledad says he doesn't know the truth. Don Loco interrupts and asks her, "Are you bugging the señor...again? If you keep bothering our friend I'll have to take you home." Emilio throws gas on the fire by saying an enchanting woman such as the señora could never bother him.

In the kitchen Santos, Jaime, and the housekeeper (can't remember her name) are talking about poor Soledad and how this bizarre dinner party from hell must be affecting her. The housekeeper says someone should tell the patron (Don Maxi) that Flor is really Alina Montellano. Jaime says even though they don't work for Don Alvaro he's in thick with the authorities and can make trouble for them. She says she doesn't care. She's going to take her tray of drinks in there and tell Mr. Emilio that the humble girl that his uncle forced to attend is none other than Alina Montellano! Santos and Jaime look like they want to crawl under a rock.

Rosita tells her dad that Flor is at the dinner party against her will, Gaspar wants to help her but she doubts he'll be able to, and she hopes Santos can do something to help Flor.

Santos and Jaime manage to talk the housekeeper out of spilling the beans about Flor. They would all lose their jobs and Gaspar will probably rescue her anyway.

Castulo starts to wake up and Gaspar whacks him with a stick. Is Castulo the guy who beat Donkey? If so then hoorah! He got what he deserved. Gaspar says he needs to frighten Ifigenio away. More lucha libre!!!

Emilio's friends are coming on to Flor. Pigs. When Emilio finally tells them to leave her alone they say they should be able to do what they want cuz Emilio gets all the ladies and they never do. Must be pig logic. Soledad asks Don Loco, "aren't you going to do anything?" He says it's natural for the guys to fool around with that girl. More pig logic. "That girl is your daughter," says Soledad. "My daughter is dead, this is the daughter of a foreman," says Don Loco. He says he's glad to see her suffer. Oink.

Luba is in the cave crying to the virgin, asking her why all this is happening. "Why are you doing this to me? You're my mother, you've been with me through everything, help me now. Protect my son. You taught me to be strong. If something happens to them what will I do? Help me."

One of the creepy friends, Frank, tries to force Flor to dance with him but Angel intervenes. Flor runs out. Soledad and Don Loco continue their inane bickering. She calls him a swine then thought bubbles, "I thought Emilio would defend her but I guess I was wrong."

Coral and pal (Liz) are upstairs drinking and complaining about being left alone. Maybe Coral's Papi Lindo found some better women? Alcohol gives them nerve and they decide to sneak downstairs. They are wearing super high strappy heels, perfect for sneaking around a stone and wood floored hacienda.

Frank is still bugging Flor and Emilio thought bubbles, "I brought her here to teach her a lesson but it is I who am getting the lesson." He tells Frank to leave Flor alone and then offers her a drink. She says she doesn't drink. Angel tells Emilio to leave her alone. Emilio turns to her and says "If you won't accept a drink from me at least you'll accept this..." He grabs her and lays a big wet one on her. The guys all hoot and holler.

He tells her that she stole the silver heart, no? He stole a kiss from her so now they are even. She slaps him and the guys hoot some more. They are totally drunk and toast the the fact that Emilio got his face slapped. Actually, I toasted it too.

Out in the garden Ifigenio looks for Castulo. At that moment the carriage arrives. Ifigenio turns to look and Gaspar whacks him on the head. The bodies are piling up behind the tree. Orlando gets out of the carriage and Gaspar stealthily (for Gaspar) follows him up the steps.

Orlando arrives and gives Flor the once over, meanwhile Don Maxi and the boys are getting tanked and exchanging secret handshakes. Suddenly Gaspar runs in and grabs Flor, causing a stir. (Actually, you could barely see Gaspar run in because Emiliooooo as usual was taking up the entire screen.)

Don Loco tells Emilio to calm down, it's only Luba's kid and don't piss him off because he can be dangerous. Soledad begs Emilio to stop this business and to leave the girl in peace. She (Soledad) has become very uncomfortable. Emilio apologizes, he thought his brother had made it clear that this party was a weenie fest, hombres only. (Except for Flor and the second floor of prostitutes.) "Yes, but then you asked me to stay," she points out. "Yes but I thought you would be amused by the lesson I taught that bastarda," our gallant hero retorts. Soleda tries to slap him (yes!! multi-generational slapping!!) but Don Loco holds her back. Emilio and Don Loco give each other bored, one-dimensional stares. I think it's supposed to be anger.

Angel escorts Soledad out. Don Loco asks Emilio why he called Flor a bastard. Emilio says Don Loco knows better than anyone that Flor is the spittin' image of his other daughter Alina, so isn't the situation obvious? Angel interrupts, Soledad is exhausted and needs Don Loco's help.

Emilio goes back into the salon and says "Let the party begin!!"

I guess I was wrong about Coral and Liz sneaking downstairs. They're still up in the room finishing off a bottle of booze. Maybe they snuck into the liquor cabinet instead. Someone knocks on the door and Coral staggers over to open it.

Santos tells the kitchen staff the good news, that big lug Gaspar has rescued Flor del Campo! They've brought out the dancing girls and now they'll party down.

Back at Soledad's prison she and Don Loco bicker about...well, about everything. She's peeved that Don Loco let Emiliano call Flor a bastard. She's peeved that Emilio thinks Don Loco had a child with some field worker. He lights a cigar and blows smoke in her face. He starts in on his usual speech, he has big plans for that girl, he wants to make Soledad suffer as he has suffered, not a moment of peace, blah blah blah.

Coral is dancing and the guys are throwing money around. Don Maximo is having the most fun of all, shaking his big ol' butt and dancing with the chicas. Everyone is celebrating except that terminal wet blanket Emilio. He remembers the kiss he stole from Flor. Coral wants him to dance with her but Emilio wants to go to sleep. Orlando tells Emilio he has something important to tell him but Emilio says Later and goes to bed.

Orlando orders the men to stop partying, it's time for bed. They all stagger out with a girl and Don Maximo is passed out, supine, on a table.

Back in the cave Luba tells Flor that Donkey will be fine. Flor is sad because Emilio has changed so much from the man she loved, this new Emilio is full of hate and rancor. Luba says he's a vain guy all right. Flor says she thought he was good, she wanted to tell him all she'd been through. Gaspar is listening, looking sympathetic. Flor says Emilio humiliated her, he forced a kiss on her. Gaspar jumps up, flexes his gigantic bicep, and channels his former lucha libre self, "I'll kill him, I'll twist his neck like this...(twists imaginary neck)!) Luba tells Gaspar no, he's not a killer. "But he's a bad person, just like a serpent that bites," reasons Gaspar,"I'm going to squash him like a worm, like this...(stomps his foot)!" Go Gaspar!! But Luba pushes him out of the cave and tells Flor to forget Emilio, pretend they'd never met. (Intocable and Ana Martin look like they love doing these scenes together.)

Thelma tells Auntie she's tired of waiting for useless Orlando to tell her where Emilio is. She's going to talk to Gen. Ochoa again and this time he's going to help her!

Emilio is laying on his bed touching his lips..."Flor, I haven't felt this way since...no no no no I'm not going to fall in love. It's better to forget her."

"Forget him, as if I'd never met him," says Flor as she pets Donkey.

Emilio and Orlando have about six scenes that consist of two sentences each. I'm going to summarize: They are working, surveying the topography, Orlando tells Emilio that Thelma is expecting Emilio's child. Emilio doesn't believe it, says Thelma is trying to trap him. Orlando swears it's true. Emilio never wants to marry, least of all Thelma. Orlando asks about the girl at the party, it looked like she had eyes for Emilio. Emilio said he only invited her to teach her a lesson. Orlando doesn't even ask What frigging lesson?? Emilio says he thinks she's the illigitimate daughter of his neighbor. Men are such gossips.

Thelma tells Gen. Ochoa that she's expecting Emilio's child, that's why she needs to get in touch with him. Gen. Ochoa says he will deliver a letter for Thelma, don't worry, he's sure Emilio will be thrilled at the news and give their child his last name. Thelma smiles.

Flor tells Rosita about hell's dinner party and what a cad Emilio is. He stole a kiss and she slapped him. She wants to hate Emilio but that kiss is still in her heart. Bleck.

Angel tells Flor's portrait that he should have defended her when his brother kissed her. He didn't have the nerve to stand up to him. Maybe he should paint a portrait of Emilio and slap it around.

Flor and Rosita are at the hacienda. Rosita is going to try to get Adela to let Flor into Soledad's room. Flor watches as Don Loco rides away from the hacienda. Now is her chance!

Mariana tells Marianita that she called Estrellita's house but Estrellita is back in the hospital. Uh oh. Mariana wants to visit her. Meanwhile Jose lays on his cot and asks nobody in particular, "Why didn't I stand up to your brother? Why didn't I marry you? Now we are separated."

Emilio takes a break to visit Coral. He wants to prove to himself that Flor is not in his sytem. He kisses Coral and calls her Flor. She's all "what did you call me?" If I were Coral I would charge extra for every time Emilio called me another woman's name, kind of like Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas. Emilio glumly leaves and Coral was wearing only a towel! He's got it bad.

Marianita visits Estrellita in the hospital. Sad violin music plays in the background. I think we know where this is going.

Luba is in the cave caressing a small chest tied with rope. Don Loco yells her name and she quickly covers it up. He asks about Gaspar. "He went to church to pray," she says. He asks about the bastarda. Luba says she's sleeping, she's very lazy. Don Loco pulls the sheet aside and sees an empty bed. Luba tries to look impactada. We go to commercial break and see Luba stabbing a big knife into a tree. This is my favorite of those weird commercial break thingies.

As Flor scampers up the stairs to her mother's room Rutilo yells at her, where does she think she's going?

Don Loco backhands Luba, knocking her to the ground. "You don't want to betray me, imbecile!" he yells. He picks her up and throws her around. He demands to know where Flor is. Luba says she escaped. He hits her again. She says Flor put on a dress and escaped without her permission. Don Loco says he knows, she was at La Rinconada last night. "Let me think of a punishment for that mule," suggests Luba. Don Loco says it's too late for punishments, that which he didn't want to happen already happened, Emilio Valtierra saw her, all his friends saw her, and if any of those wretches take a liking to her..." Luba swears that's not going to happen. She'll tell Gaspar that the Patron will break his bones if he lets that mule escape. Don Loco grabs her hair, "The next time I'll kill you, I'll kill you!!"

He leaves and Luba staggers over to her hidden chest, gasping and with a bleeding lip. She vows, "Alvaro, you are never, (uncovers box), never going to do that. I promise you are going to regret this." She hugs the box.

Adela talks Rutilo into letting Flor go upstairs to visit Soledad.

Flor and Soledad embrace. Soledad says she didn't sleep all night thinking about what happened with that...that Emiliano Valtierra. Last night she was on the verge of confessing everything to him but Alvaro stopped her. Soledad urges Flor/Alina to tell Emiliano who she really is, to tell him the truth.

Rutilio and Adela are outside talking very loudly. Adela says God will pay him back for the good deed he just did. Meanwhile Sergio is sneaking up to eavesdrop. Adela says she'll never tell anyone. Sergio says to himself that Rutilio is up to something and he's got a bad feeling about it.

Flor tells Soledad she doesn't want to talk about Emilio, he thinks she's a liar and a thief. Soledad urges Flor to get Santos to help her escape to Puebla. She can find her godfather. She's sure Elias will help. Flor is afraid Don Loco will kill her mother in retaliation. Soledad clucks "no no" rather half-heartedly.

At that moment Don Loco arrives home and climbs the stairs. Adela crosses herself and wrings her hands. Flor quickly hides behind the wardrobe just as daddy dearest walks in the room. He sees a plate of what looks like ritz crackers with cheese and olives on top and asks, "Who is with you Soledad?"

One of our readers suggested we take a look at Acorralada (trapped) so I thought I'd give a head start to whomever might like to take a whack at it. By the way, I haven't seen this show even once, so I'm doing this second-hand; if you've been watching and have something to add - or correct - let me know! We have two folks going to try this one out, they'll be introducing themselves shortly.

[UPDATE: Another kind reader suggested that this picture, which I thought was Camila, was actually Octavia. Once again all the babes, whichever generation, are trying to look exactly the same age...] Twenty years ago the evil Octavia Irazabal took two young daughters and a perfume factory away from Fedora. She then framed Fedora for a crime; Fedora has finally gotten out of jail and wants to find her children and get vengeance. Meanwhile, by sheer coincidence, both her daughters are hanging around Octavia's mansion.

OCTAVIA IRAZABAL is the evil matriarch of the show; hence, I surmise that this picture is a bit out of date. Octavia married Alberto, son of Doña Santa. Doña Santa never wanted her son Alberto to marry the evil Octavia. Alberto's dead now. Poisoned? Trampled by a bull?

Yolanda Alarcon is Octavia's sister and lives with her.

I think this is Doña Santa, but since I haven't seen the show I'm not sure. She is now sort of senile and plays with dolls.

Anyway, dead Alberto and evil Octavia had three children:

1. Maximiliano is going to be our major hero I guess. I hope he's not as stupid as Emillioooo but this picture is not promising.
Maxi Maxi as Camila calls him does not seem to be much of a prize. He's strung Camila along for a couple of year leading her to believe that Marfil was actually dead. Meantime, he's fallen for the virgin nurse only days after meeting her. Hmmm. Just why would anyone want to marry him?

Marfil was Max's wife. She didn't want to have kids cause they might have ruined her figure. She was supposedly killed two years previously, accidentally, by Gerardo (a spurned suitor), but is actually in a coma locked in the back room. She has an evil twin, a thief, named Deborah, who is about to show up and try to take her place - the plan is, she'll "wake up" and then be able to wreak havoc.
Marfil (the real still-in-a-coma Marfil) has been carted off to live elsewhere while her evil twin Debora plays the risen-from-the-dead Marfil and usurps her place. Doubtless, at some point Marfil herself with appear.

Camila is Max's current girlfriend. [I picked this picture for you, Ferro - note the enormous fake knockers.] She is desperate to marry him and get out of financial difficulties; he is less eager, knowing as he does that he has a still-living wife in the back room. Camila, too, has a secret: 5 years previously, she had a baby by the evil Dr. Ignacio Montiel; she abandoned the kid in a hospital in Los Angeles. Emilio is her brother, and is Max's best friend. Camila lives with her cousin Sylvia, who is determined to land in the lap of luxury when Camila marries Max.

Max, however, has been pierced by Cupid's Dart - he loves Diana (see below).

2. Larry is Octavia's second spawn. He is a body builder or male beauty queen or something, he wins competitions at the beach, this is his life's ambition. He has a girlfriend, Pilar, whom he wants to marry. She, though, is lukewarm cause she prefers fooling around with Kike, one of the other muscle guys. Gabriela (see below) loves Larry and drops stuff when he's around.

3. Paola is too footloose for Octavia - she should be getting married. However, she would rather do drugs with her buddy Rene.

[Others in the mansion include Nancy and Lala, workers. Nancy unrequitedly loves Lala's son Diego, a piano teacher (therefore probably good); his brother is Pancho, who does illegal things (therefore probably bad) and hangs out with Carmelo (see below). Diego unrequitedly loves Diana.

Bruna would be your Modesta type servant henchperson, I suppose. She works her quiet evil and tends Max's comatose wife in the back room. Since she is planning to get rich in cahoots with Deborah, she looks with extreme disfavor on Diana because she has attracted Max.
The evil Bruna has dropped enough hints that she is undoubtedly the mother of the twins Marfil and Deborah - unbeknownst to them, of course. She been posing for years as servant.

FEDORA GARCES (LA GAVIOTA) was in jail for 20 years, having been framed for some crime by Octavia. Octavia got "two men" to spirit Fedora's daughters away - and also stole her perfume factory! Fedora got a law degree while in jail, however now that she's out of jail she's singing in a bar rather than (there's some joke here about the bar and the bar but I'm too tired to make it). Anyway, now that she's free she wants (a) vengeance and (b) to get her daughters back. Her daughters are:

1. Diana, who graduated at the top of her nursing class but lost her job at a hospital when the evil doctor Ignacio Montiel (the same one who impregnated Camila, see above) put the moves on her and she accidentally rolled him down the stairs and set his house on fire. Or something. He frames her for theft, she goes to jail and meets her own mother and they become friendly. Then she loses her job at the hospital and ends up as the nurse for the senile granny, to Octavia's grave displeasure.

2. Gaby is, coincidentally, a maid at Octavia's mansion. She is in love with Octavia's son Larry, the body-builder. She is very near-sighted.

Both think they are orphans. They were raised by Doña Miguelina Soriano, who prays they never discover she's not really their granny.

Caramelo is the daughter of Paco. (Paco runs the bar where Fedora/Gaviota sings and manages her career and is in fact in love with her but she is through with love.) Carmelo hangs out with Pancho (see above) and gets in a lot of trouble.

Andres is an all-purpose villain. He was "once married to a woman who abandoned him." He is henchman to the evil Dr. Montiel. Also, he comes into Paco's bar and threatens Carmela; to defend the girl, Fedora hits him with a bottle and gets arrested.
Debora is actually the woman who abandoned Andres. She's already had one close encounter with him...we should be able to look forward to more.

* Coyote and Rogelio meet in prison to discuss Demian, Jossie and Miriam (they plot against the dangerous threesome).

* "Fiera" meeting in Miriam's home office on stealing Otilia's designs before style show. Karen mentions still having the key to Otilia's studio. Jossie laughs.

* Gabriel talks with MA in her office about his thoughts and feelings. He apologizes to her for hurting her, unintentionally of course, and his apology is sincere and profound. She is surprised and can't accept it because the hurt and disillusionment runs too deep. She tries to leave - Gabriel stops her, pulls her close to him and continues to try and convince her to give him another chance - she pulls away and can't. He continues to plead his case - she listens and starts to cry - he leaves her to think.

* Miriam meets with Ingrid about the style show duel with Otilia - they laugh about beating Otilia and MA in the head to head competition.

* Tiberio reports back to Demian in his office about his visit with Rogelio in prison. Demian tells Tiberio good work, and that all business decisions will stay between him and Tiberio.

* Gabriel visits his son in prision. Rogelio promises his father that he has changed and he will prove it - Gabriel can't believe in his sincerity - Rogelio explains that prison has taught him so many valuable lessons (he's grown up a lot).

* Jossie and Tiberio meet and discuss a plot - Karen enters and interrupts - Tiberio leaves - Karen slides the key into Jossie's hands.

* Tiberio finds MA waiting in Demian's office and is offended by her sight - MA stands her ground as being in total control of the company as president. Demian enters and stops the argument. MA leaves. Tiberio tells Demian his outrage about taking orders from MA - Demian explains how, why MA is president and his secret plan to manipulate her.

* Rogelio meets with Coyote again and tells Coyote of his secret vengeance plan against Demian, Jossie and Miriam (how he will play the silent partner and then strike back without them suspecting anything).

* JC meets with Karen in his office - JC confides to her about his depression over his illness that will take him away from Pau and his mom. Karen tries to pick up his spirits - he is unfazed and decides he has to keep up the strong fake front for Pau and his mom; he doesn't want them to suffer with the truth. Karen apologizes to him and promises to support him always - he thanks her - they hug; she is content as a fiera tiger.

* Jossie meets with Demian in his office. She wants to strike now against MA; he wants her to have patience and wait, and don't try to manipulate him. She's impatient to be rid of MA. Demian sits Jossie down and convinces her that his plan will work - he will manipulate MA into becoming Gabriel's worst enemy.

* MA cries in her office as she recalls Gabriel's apology. Tiberio walks in and slaps the report she ordered on her desk - she is brusk and authoritative to him.

* Gabriel and Nick meet in Gabriel's office - Gabriel vents his outrage and frustration with Miriam over extorting money from him in order to get her to recant her statement and have Rogelio released from prison. Then they discuss the situation with MA - Gabriel loves her and will continue to pursue to get her back.

* Rogelio returns to work and takes his bouncing red ball out of his desk drawer. MA enters to welcome him back to work. Rogelio tells her that Gabriel offered him a room in his condo but Rogelio turned him down, so he's staying at a hotel. MA offers Rogelio to return to the palace to live - Rogelio reminds her about Miriam - MA says don't worry about that; she's sure that Gabriel will be happy that he's living there; Rogelio is surprised by the offer and wonders if she's in love with his father - she says yes she is, but that she's too hurt to take him back and leaves.

* Karen in the palace office, thinking about her conversation with JC - Dolores enters and tries to convince Karen to stop pursuing a relationship with JC - Karen is offended - Dolores explains how much she cares and is concerned for Karen's well-being - Karen breaks down and tells Dolores about her thoughts of JC, his illness and his sacrificing everything in a cover-up for Pau and his mom. She's upset that no one has ever sacrificed themselves like that for her, not even her grandmother or mother. Dolores listens and asks Karen to let her console, hug and love her. Karen is scared to trust Dolores - Dolores asks her to give her a chance - they hug as Karen cries on Dolores' shoulder.

* Rogelio working on papers in his office - Jossie enters and starts to confront him about how upset and angry she is with his stealing their jewelry. She starts to threaten him - Rogelio stands up to her and makes his own threat (if she comes after him, she will royally regret it) - she's not scared of him and tells him that "to play with fieras, he will get burned."

* Regina, JC and Pau at work in the office - Pau feels faint but says nothing's wrong.

* Jossie informs Miriam about Rogelio.

* Candy visits with MA and LD. As Pau enters, Candy leaves. Pau holds LD as she and MA discuss Candy's participation in the style show. MA convinces Pau (more like twists her arm behind her back) to be in the show also. Pau is happy holding LD and wants to be a mommy so badly.

* Dr. Leo walks a patient to the car on the street. He then talks with Sylvester about Candy modeling in tomorrow's style show. They read an advertisement in the paper - and a light bulb clicks on in their heads.

* MA sits with LD in the office - Gabriel enters and LD calls him "Papa" - Gabriel picks him up and holds him as Jossie enters to try and interrupt the moment - MA tells her to back off and go home to Alex - Jossie is offended and leaves.

* Pau meets with Dr. Fuentes - he tells her that SHE'S PREGNANT!

* Otilia meets with Soraya, Di, Candy and Elsa to go over final preparations for the style show. They also discuss how horrible and cold Miriam is. Sylvester enters and walks over to Elsa - Otilia turns the discussion to include Sylvester, and something about ticket sales for the style show.

* Rogelio returns to the palace wheeling his little suitcase in the door behind him. Miriam sees him enter and is mortified that he's back; she wants him to leave. Rogelio refuses and MA appears on the balcony and says that she invited him back to live and asks Rogelio to come upstairs - she'll show him to his old room.

* El Magnate (pimp daddy) breaks into Otilia's design studio and steals the wardrobe right off the mannequins.

* Otilia, Di and Soraya are out at the restaurant celebrating and toasting their new line and success at tomorrow's show. Soraya remembers that she left some letters and papers at the studio - Otilia says they'll go back and get them right away.

* JC at the apartment alone, feeling sick and woozy - Pau enters with a smile - they hug - she tells him the excellent news, SHE'S PREGNANT! They're going to parents again. He puts on his best fake smile and enthusiasm - they hug - he's half-happy and half-depressed.

* Jossie meets with Miriam about their plot against Otilia and MA.

* Otilia, Di and Soraya arrive back at their studio for the papers - they turn on the lights and are shocked because all their designs and outfits have vanished. They panic (whatever will they do? whatever will they do?)

* Rogelio comes to the strip club and the security won't let him enter - Tiberio comes out and explains that he no longer is co-owner, Tiberio is sole owner of the club - Rogelio is angry and tries to strangle Tiberio.

* JC and Pau in bed - JC can't sleep, prays to himself as he watches Pau sleep.

* Rogelio visits Gabriel and tells Gabriel the shocking truth about how Jossie got pregnant; that she drugged him and seduced him in order to break him and MA up permanently.

Luigi says he’s getting drunk. He asks Aldo if he’s going to accept Luigi’s offer. Guillermo advises Aldo to accept. Aldo accepts. The whole table toasts. Luigi says they’ll start the project tomorrow. Luigi will prepare an exquisite space for Aldo. Luigi wants to make it sure that this project will have nothing to do with Conceptos, because everything is pretty much going to hell. Aldo says something about not abandoning the construction of his restaurant and his book that he’s writing. Luigi calls Aldo a Pandora’s Box. He wants to know about the book. Is it a book about love. Aldo agrees and says it’s about love. It’s called “The Flavor of Life.” I suppose Aldo would like to change his and Lety’s names to “The Flavor of Life.” Luigi seductively fans himself.
