Cuando Me Enamoro #93 Friday 8/26/11 Three (Impending) Weddings and (Hopefully) A Funeral.
Alfonsina is on the cusp of telling Karina the truth about the blanks that Doc has been shooting but we cut away to the argument between Jero and Nata. In his frustration and bitterness, Jero walks out on Nata in disgust. She hits her knees in tears.
Alfonsina tells Karina that Doc is sterile. Kari is impactada. She hyperventilates and hurries out of the room.
Matias and Julieta chat over coffee. She wants to meet Adriana and make amends. He agrees to introduce them.
Chema carries Adriana into the kitchen and offers to teach her all of his cooking secrets. She is bummed out because of Honorio's situation but Chema is determined to cheer her up. He dons on an apron, puts a chef hat on Adri, and they start baking a cake. They toss eggs and flour at each other - a scene reminiscent of the Chema/Coni food flirtation from several weeks ago.
Lazaro finds Karina crying and comforts her. Kari openly sobs about how Doc always blamed her for being a bad wife because she could not have children. In reality, it was his fault all along. Laz says Kari doesn't deserve all the tears Doc made her cry. She vows to give Doc an earful.
Constanza clutches a letter and cries as she waits for the police to bring Honorio in for a visit. He turns to leave as soon as he sees her but Coni cries that she needs him. Hon is embarrassed that she has to see him there; he wrote it in the letter that he doesn't want her or Adriana to see him locked up. Coni needs Hon's advice: she thinks that Fina is the woman who ruined Regina's life and kidnapped her daughter. (Hooray! Coni discovered that 2 + 2 does indeed equal 4.)
Coni figured out that the dates that Pepa was in Oaxaca coincide with the dates that Fina was supposedly there as well. One of Fina's daughters might be Regina's. After all, both Coni and Hon have seen how awfully Fina treats Nata. Hon assures Coni she isn't crazy for thinking such a thing about Fina. (Lets just hope this development doesn't eventually earn Coni the number one slot on Fina's hit list.)
Regina gives Gonzo an invitation to the gala. The Monterrubios are in no mood to party but Gonzo wants to go so he can be with Regi. She tells Gonzo that she wants to invite Jero to the party. Gonzo has no problem with it as long as they steer away from the topic of Nata.
Speaking of changing the topic, Gonzo thinks he and Regi should announce an engagement at the gala. He makes a big show of telling Regi that he is finally divorced from the Fina Monster. He scoops her up into a big hug and Regi has stars in her eyes.
Agustin pours Nata a glass of wine and listens to her complaints about Jero. Nata is now officially divorced. Augie says that Nata can move on and begin a new chapter of her life now that Jero is gone for good.
Jero takes a nighttime walk with Gitana. He strokes her mane and wonders how he could have been so cruel to Nata.
Constanza arrives home and spies Adriana and Chema goofing around in the kitchen. It reminds her of her own flirty food time she spent with Chema. Coni crashes the party and the temperature in the room drops a few degrees. Chema wipes an icing mustache off his face and takes his leave. An awkward silence passes between the two ladies.
Honorio broods in his jail cell. He swears that once he gets out of jail, he will forgive Constanza for everything that happened between them and help her figure out how to proceed with the PepaFina problem.
Alfonsina tentatively asks to talk with Ezequiel over breakfast. She tells him that her baby is his. Alfi leaves it up to him whether he wants to be in his child's life or not.
Augie has business to attend to but hates to leave Nata. She assures him she will be fine on her own.
Over the phone, Regi tries to convince Jero to come to the gala. Jero is too down in the dumps. Plus, Jero is furious with Gonzo because he (Gonzo) had Nata sent to hide at Augie's hacienda. Regina is shocked but believes that Jero is reaping what he sowed in regards to Nata. Nata is treating Jero the way he used to treat her.
Carlos shows off his new digs to his parents. His madre sticks her nose up in the air and criticizes everything. It isn't good enough for her hijo.
Jero replays Nata's words in his mind and Marina interrupts his hair-tugging and self-kicking. She invites him to her uncle's birthday party and Nata wanders over. Jero agrees to think about it and makes sure Nata seems him kiss Marina's hand.
Marina excuses herself and Nata starts a fight with Jero over Gitana. She wants her moved back to Augie's ranch. They argue and Jero asks Nata what she was doing in his room the other night.
Carlos is all excitement and smiles while thinking about the wedding. His parents want to meet their future daughter-in-law that afternoon.
Jero refuses to believe Nata when she denies having been in his room. He felt her presence and smelled her perfume. He grabs Nata and says that dreams do not wear perfume. Nata makes Jero let her go so she can collect her horse.
Karina prays for strength in her situation with Doc. She suffered for so long because Doc blamed her for not being able to have children. Kari feels so resentful and furious; she doesn't know what to do.
Jero trails Nata into the fields. Nata is tired of opening old wounds about La Bonita and tells Jero to scram.
The bells of doom chime as Constanza comes in to work at the centro kitchen. Chema asks her why she has been so distant lately. She crumbles about feeling overwhelmed, sad, and alone. Chema hops over the table and offers to help. Coni says there are some things in her life she does not want him to get involved in. Chema pulls her up and gives her a hug.
Regina, Ines, and Cata make plans for the gala. Regi wants everything to be perfect for the donors. Cata has a hissy fit about Regi mentioning the Monterrubios and leaves to look at glassware. Ines and Regi squeal in excitement over Regi's upcoming engagement.
Matias tells Gonzo that he plans to start going out with Adriana again. Gonzo hopes the news will cheer Honorio up a little. Gonzo tells Matias that he is going to propose to Regina. Both fellas are ridiculously happy.
Blanca, incognito in an ugly track suit, meets up with Daniel in a mall. She checks him to make sure he isn't hiding a microphone. Too bad she's a crummy detective and doesn't notice that they are being watched. A cop in a nearby store has them on camera. Blanca is upset that Nata got away. She vows that Gonzo will be the next to fall for getting in the way of her plans.
Fina is surprised to hear that Roberta left the house with her luggage earlier that morning. Hija dearest answers the phone from the airport. She tells Mami to deal with all the trouble on her own. Berta is going out of town for some fresh air.
Augie does some business over the phone and a huge dude meets up with him at a cafe. Augie slides him an envelope of cash and puts the hit out on Doc Nesme. (Oh, Christmas has come early for viewerville!)
Carlos gives Matilde the gift from his parents. It's a traditional dress from where he is from. She will get to wear it that very night at dinner. Mati is deliriously happy.
Nata remembers bumping into Marina at the airport. How could Jero move on so quickly after having gone to such lengths to prove his love for her? She cries at her own stupidity for believing him. It's over. Never again will Nata be the same sentimental and romantic girl who believed in eternal love.
Jero vents to Carlos and vows that Renata is never to set another foot on La Bonita soil.
Marina wonders how Nata and Jero could have ended up so resentful of each other. She noticed a great passion between the two of them.
Nata tells Augie that she has decided to live her life in a different way. Augie admits that he has been in love with Nata since the first time he saw her. "Now that you are a free woman, I don't want to waste anymore time. Will you marry me?"
Nata recalls all the nasty things Jero did to her while she was married to him. She stares at the ring and says yes. (!!!) Augie puts the ring on her finger and they kiss.
Avances: From what I could make out, the gala will be a hotbed of activity. Augie swears that Nata will be his. What else is new?

La Fuerza del Destino #17 Thu 08/25/11 La Fuerza de Ivan's willpower
Happy Independence Day, Uruguay!
Carlota isn't happy that the girls are arguing. She's afraid that Maripaz will try to get her "garras" (claws) into Ivan now that he has money. She likes him, and she'll tell Lucia why one day. Lucia claims she's not in love with him anymore, she just feels affection for him, that's all. Carlota says if Ivan makes a play for Lucia things are gonna get ugly in the house. Lucia says on the off chance that he has a thing for her, she won't let anyone get between them. Not even her mother! And in walks the bitch herself. Saul is there to see her, and he's brought a bouquet of flowers with him. Lucrezia demands that Lucia reconcile with him immediately and set a date for the wedding. It's such a bizarre little universe inside Lucrezia's head. She tells Lucia that JJ is getting her a meeting with Toni McGuire and she doesn't want Lucia's stubbornness to get in the way of it. Wow, Lucrezia's an idiot. If she wanted a meeting all she had to do was go to Toni herself and get one. The guy's been in her house!
Lucia goes downstairs to talk to Saul. She mechanically thanks him for the pretty flowers, but resists his efforts to kiss her, reminding him she wanted them to have a few days apart. Um, he waited 2 days. "That's not enough?" He says he's crazy for her and every minute that passes is like an eternity. Lucia thanks him, but says she's realized they don't have much in common. He says he's sure about what he feels, it's her who has doubts. "What's going on? Is there another man?" Lucia says it's not that. They spend all their time arguing, they're very different from each other…"That's what gives our relationship spice!" Claims Saul. Lucia tries saying she doesn't like his "forma de ser" (way of being; the way he behaves). He'd rather she just say she doesn't like him anymore, but she elaborates that he's "grosero" (rude), "prepotente" (overbearing), "egoista" (selfish) and she feels like he's always trying to imitate his dad. Saul takes offense at that. "As if your family was so perfect!" He throws her parents' divorce in her face, that her dad couldn't stand her mother and her sister is a drunk and a slut. "Well, if you dislike my family so much then why do you want to be with me?" Lucia says he only wants to be with her so his dad won't get upset and so his friends won't make fun of him. She offers to let him say he broke up with her. Saul says he still wants to be with her because he likes her. "Well I don't like the way you like me!" Yes, Saul, she's breaking up with you, catch a frickin clue! "Pues, 'ta bien. Pues tampoco te voy a rogar" (Well, fine, then, I'm not gonna beg either!). A little late for that, Saul. He tells her to be careful, cause if he finds out she left him for another man, it'll go for her "como chango en feria" (ummm…all I can think of is something about poop-slinging monkeys…someone clarify this one for me!)
Lucia goes into the dining room and says she broke off the engagement and she's not going to stay with him just because it's convenient for her mother. Lucrezia tries to convince her that it's also convenient for Lucia, but Carlota tells her to leave it alone. "But I'm her mother!" "And I'm YOUR mother and I'm sick of you using my granddaughters for your own convenience." And she says no, it's not doing Lucia or Maripaz any good. "Do you think your eldest daughter is happy? After what happened with Ivan, she became more rebellious than ever. Going from party to party! Then you made her marry David and now she wants a divorce. And now you want to beg that boy's father after you looked down on him and tried to have him killed!" Lucrezia says she just wanted to give him an "escarmiento" (lesson). Carlota says she ruined Maripaz's life and there doesn't seem to be anything to do about it now. But she better not mess with Lucia, she warns! "Que duermas bien, hija…si puedes!" (Sleep well, daughter…if you can!)
Ivan meets Maripaz for dinner. She complains she's late because she fought with Lucia. She'll tell him in a minute, but she needs a drink first…a double whiskey on the rocks. Ivan orders a tequila. Maripaz turns on the little-girl-voice and says Lucia told him a bunch of lies. "So it's not true that a maid stole our baby and you didn't do anything to find him?" Maripaz claims not to know why Lucia said those things and asks if he really thinks she would be capable of being such a heinous bitch. Ivan says of course not. He tells her to just forget about it. Maripaz says she's still upset. She knows that Lucia has always been after Ivan and because she was thwarted, she became boring and a liar who makes up stories and then ends up believing them. "And now she's worse than ever. Every since she found out you're back, she's gone crazy! I can tell she never forgot you. She even broke off her engagement with Saul. Of course, how could she pass up the opportunity to go after you? The idiot thinks she has a chance, but it's obvious you'd never pay attention to a bitter woman like her!" Ivan tells her again just to forget about it and asks about her divorce. Maripaz laughs that it's a done deal. "You should have seen their faces when I told them all I wanted a divorce because David is gay! As if they didn't know it. You can tell just by looking at him! I can't believe I doubted it. Oh, and if I told you about my wedding night! So, we go into this gorgeous room…." Maripaz is so tacky I could use her to get all the cat hair off my couch. And those of you who enjoy the privilege of being on the staff of one or more felines know how difficult that is!
Toni agrees to a dinner with Lucrezia. JJ says he'll make a dinner reservation. Toni asks for Carlota to be present, since he knows she's the owner of the ranch. JJ says it's true, but Lucrezia is the one who makes all the decisions. Toni insists on both of them being at dinner. JJ agrees and asks if tomorrow is fine. When they get off the phone, JJ calls Lucrezia to give her the good news. She thanks him and he tells her to bring her mom to dinner. Lucrezia doesn't want to, but gives in, if Toni insists. JJ asks if Lucrezia Borgia convinced Maripaz to stay with David. She whines that Maripaz is just hurt and needs a little time. JJ agrees, as long as it's not too much time.
Esther comes in to ask if JJ wants some dinner. JJ asks where David is. Esther tried to call him, but he's not answering his phone. She doesn't think he's interested in talking to them. JJ has finally been too offensive…not that he thinks so. "So he's gonna cry like a girl now?" Esther tries to argue with him, but "no está el horno para bollos" (the oven isn't ready for rolls; now's not the time). Besides, David had the chance to prove his manhood and he failed. And it's her fault for "making" him gay. Estela accuses JJ of never loving David. JJ, of course, blames her, because he wanted a real man for a son. He tells her to get David to show his face "like a man" and deal with things "like a man." He wants David back home by tomorrow at the latest, cause sooner or later Maripaz will be back.
After their dinner, Ivan asks for the check for him and a taxi for Maripaz. The principal (?) at Lucia's school sees Maripaz and Ivan together and comments to her dinner companions that Maripaz is up to her old tricks again. Gossip, gossip, gossip, blah, blah, blah, he's American, she's a drunk, etc. Maripaz wants to go dancing with Ivan and even offers to do a road sobriety test for him, but he tells her he's already gotten a taxi for her. She whines at him to go back to his room, cause she really, really, really, really…and did I mention really?...wants some sex. Well, with Ivan no means no. He signs the check and escorts her out. The look of disappointment on Maripaz's face is so pathetic. Ha! She tries to finish off her drink, but he puts it back down and physically walks her out. Puh-leeze, she would have fallen over if she'd tried to walk on her own!
Alicia's tomb is all fixed up now. Gerry comes to visit and hides to avoid Ivan. Ivan is bragging about how he's starting to get revenge. Somehow I don't think she'd be happy about that. Ivan won't forget, as Anthony suggests, because it just wouldn't be fair. If he lets things go, it would be like letting "those people" get away with their savagery. He knows she wouldn't agree, but he just has that need for revenge stuck deep in his heart. The caretaker, Don Thomas, comes up to help Ivan with the flowers and Ivan tips him. Ivan does the secret handshake with his mother's tomb. Once Ivan leaves, Gerry comes over to ask Don Thomas who he was, but the caretaker doesn't know Ivan's name. Gerry asks him, if Ivan wants to know who he is, to just say he's a friend of the dead woman's.
Camilo and Carmen talk about her working for Ivan. He assumes she'll be working as a maid and getting maid's wages. She's a little miffed that she's not getting a better job or better wages. Celia, ever supportive, says what else can Carmen expect, since she never finished high school or even tried to take any kind of typing or computer classes. Carmen says even being a waitress is a step up from being a maid. Celia tells Camilo to just tell Ivan thanks (implying that it's "thanks, but no thanks") and Carmen relents and tells Camilo to tell Ivan that she'll talk to him. When he leaves, Celia says it's better to work for someone who actually knows you and likes you and respects you…and not somewhere where drunks paw at you and you have to come home practically at dawn and make your mama worry. Carmen asks why he didn't at least ask her to be a receptionist. Did I miss something, or didn't he ask Camilo to ask Carmen if she would be in charge of the house, or "run" the house for him and his dad. Making her more like a housekeeper, or at least Head Maid.
Camilo goes over to the hotel and he and Ivan start looking at the proposals for the warehouse equipment. Ivan also wants to start talking title and salary. He'd like Camilo to be "Gerente General" (General Manager) which surprises Camilo, but according to Ivan, he's qualified, has the right education, and Ivan trusts him. "Even though I've killed a man?" Ivan says they're not going to talk about it anymore. Part of Camilo's compensation package will be an office, car, cell phone, credit card…Camilo is surprised again. He'd prefer a truck, though, and Ivan agrees. "So, how much do you want to make?" Camilo doesn't want to name a number first, so Ivan will discuss it with Toni. Who walks in and asks the guys what's up. Camilo passes the proposal paperwork to Toni and apologizes for not getting him a driver. He just didn't trust a lot of the guys he talked to and others didn't have letters of recommendation. Camilo didn't want to risk Toni. Toni's not worried and the car rental agency will apparently give him a driver if he needs one. Ivan gets a call on his cell from Benito. He's gotten deported. Again. What's this, the 3rd time? Benito's having trouble finding a job and he's considering trying to go back to the US, but it's getting harder to cross. Ivan tells him to get to Alamos and they can talk about a job for him. Well, at least now they're doing outdoor stuff, so Benito might agree to work for them.
I hate Camilo's plaid hoodie. Just saying. Ivan tells Camilo about Benito and about crossing to the US. Maripaz sees them in the street and comes over to talk. Ivan gets roped into showing her the house, since they're right in front of it. Ivan introduces Maripaz to Camilo. They give each other dirty looks and Maripaz goes into the house. Cuando Me Enamoro #92 Thursday 8/25/11 Attack of the Vicious Vine Monster
Fun stuff from last night: The good Doctora Marina discovers that the e-vile Doc Do-Nothing is sterile! Bwahahaha!!
BSCBlanca visits Hons and gives him an ultimatum. Be her lover or his niece Renata will soon be in jail followed by an infinite list of his loved ones. She just hasn’t decided whom she’ll hurt next, Gonzo, Matias, Adri and even the sweet Cons. She tells Hons she is his only option, a statement so absurd I don’t even know why he got upset.
Over at Empresas Monterrubio (EM) Gonzo, Matias, Daniel and some Comandante plot to use Daniel to entrap Blanca. Apparently she covered her tracks so well they need incriminating evidence against her.
Ensenada now has big block letters in the bay announcing it is the wine country.
Laz tells Padre he’s in town to pick up some insecticides for Alfonsina. I guess that means La Bonita is no longer an organic vineyard, eh? Laz mentions he went to see Doc Ick at the jail, the only thing he wants is what’s best for Kari. Padre reassures him that one doesn’t leave this world without paying their due (Doc) and that Laz will see that God will someday reward them (Laz and Kari).
Kari is in a nice tienda making a deal with the shop owner to sell her embroidered tablecloths. The shop owner is so impressed she wants Kari to sell her items exclusively through her tienda. Kari is happy to be supporting herself.
Matias visits Hons to tell them they are going forward with entrapping BSCBlanca to get Hons out of jail. Hons gives Matias two cards, one for Cons and one for Adri. They do a fist touch against the dividing glass, awwww.
Doc Yellow shows Padre the results of Doc Desert’s fertility test. I was just about to make a crack about telling Padre being better than an email blast but the Padre one-upped me. Before I finish the thought he grabs Doc Marina and they rush off to La Bonita to tell Alfonsina.
Regina continues her physical therapy with Adri while Cons looks on. Regina even advises Adri to get a little sunlight to help heal her bones (Vitamin D). Matias shows up with the cards and carries Adri out to the garden to read hers.
Regina tells Cons that she saw Pepa yesterday when she was leaving Consti’s place. Pepa must live around there.
Ack! The shrill yelling tells me that Roberta’s in this scene. She’s in Gonzo’s office working on her “Will-Shriek-For-Money” plot. She demands that Gonzo intervene on her behalf with Matias. Gonzo yells right back that she’s in no position to demand (exigir) anything and he refuses to help. She wonders what’s up (que onda) with him? That’s his very question to her. What’s up with her that she bothers him with this stuff while he’s trying to deal with much graver issues. Her capricious problems are directly the result of her bad decisions so don’t count on him. If he intervenes it will be not for her but for his son! Thus endeth an extremely satisfying scene.
Regina tells Cons she’s really bad at describing car makes but Pepa’s was black and had four doors. Coni is muy impactada and gasps at this completely generic description. Come on Cons, whip out a picture of Fina and put us out of Nata’s misery!
Speaking of misery, Fina has just received the divorce order rom a gleeful Soto. He smugly announces that as of now she’s no longer Gonzo’s spouse and he’s free to marry tomorrow if he likes. Soto admits that after the way she played him he’s thrilled to be part of putting her in her place. He trusts everyone she’s messed with will have the same opportunity. “Justice might come late,” he warns, “but it does come.” He actually giggles as he leaves. She beats up the papers. Wow, yet another satisfying scene. Thanks writers!
Cons wants to hear more about this Pepa. Gina says Pepa was her late husband’s assistant, they were lovers, she had his child and then disappeared. When Gina next saw her, Pepa tried to poison her in the hospital and then showed up again yesterday. The investigators have never been able to find her. One was close until he died at the heads of a Oaxacan ex-mayor. Cons looks thoughtful but Regina thinks his death had nothing to do with Pepa. Tony was heading up the investigation and wants to continue looking for the kid but Gina wants to stop his involvement. Cons thinks hard about all this new information. Didn’t Coni help Fina leave Oaxaca and get her job at EM?
Later, after Regina leaves, she tells herself “No no no I can’t think such a thing, It would be terrible.”

“Mama! MamAA!!”, yells Berta as she stomps into the house. She tells Fina she found the idiots Matias and Adri kissing. Fina sighs and tells Berta now is not a good time. Berta harps on some more about Mama’s brilliant plans not working out. Fina tells her to calm down, soon things will turn to their favor and they’ll get everything they want. Berta says if things don’t change soon she’s leaving. “And where will you go where you can have everything you like?” inquires mom. Berta smiles to herself.

Jero reads the results of the writing analysis to Carlos. Roberta did NOT write the La Bonita letter. In the midst of their teeth gnashing Matilde runs in with the super chisme. They say Augie keeps a woman hidden in his hacienda; he treats her like a queen, buying her gifts and more. They say that this woman looks a lot like...Renata.
CFE’s cellular rings and it’s Roberta. She’s tired of her life and she needs a little action. If he doesn’t come to the DF she’s going to... “NO!”, says Augie, no visitors, not right now. He tells her not to push, don’t call him he’ll call her. Click. (Hee hee.)
Nata teases CFE that his phone call sounded like one of his conquests. He says he’s not a womanizer; Nata tells him he could have any woman he wants. She asks him seriously why he never married. “Because I had never met you,” he coos. She laughs him off, asking how many times he’s used that line. Whew, saved by the commercial break.
Regina visits Tony to tell him to stop his involvement in finding her daughter. He makes a wisecrack about her love for Gonzo coming before her search for her daughter. Nice mature behavior there Tony. He says until her daughter’s in her arms he’s not going back on his word. Regina kindly tells him to back off and not to worry, she’ll continue the investigation on her own. “You AND Gonzalo.” he muses bitterly, to which I would say No s**t Sherlock, but Regina is kinder, “You’re a marvelous man but it simply is not working out.” She wishes him the best with all her heart. Tony, do you feel the slightest twinge of guilt for your current perfidious activity?
Adri tells Cons that Berta went crazy just because she saw Adri and Matias talking. (Heh, she left out a small detail.) Cons cautions her about becoming Berta’s enemy. Adri asks what else is bothering Cons? Cons asks if she knows where Renata and Berta spent their childhood? Yes, in Oaxaca confirms Adri. Coni asks Adri to help her with an internet search.
Cons is afraid to read Honorio’s letter. She’s afraid he’ll ask her not to visit him and forget about him while he’s in jail. He won’t want to shame her and will tell her to stay far away. Adri observes that Cons knows him well, that’s almost exactly what he said in his letter to her.
Tony calls Fina to tell her about the setback (contrariedad) that Regina sacked him from her daughter’s search. However he did get a look at the amount of the trust, there were a LOT of zeros. Fina loves his sweet words, but he says there is a problem. In order to collect, Gina’s daughter can’t just present herself, she must provide irrefutable proof.
Carlos confirms to Jero that their vines have the plague. Alfonsina bounces up to tell them she has the proper insecticides, she informed all the other haciendas and they are taking action. All except Cruz de Amor that is, problems with Ezequiel and all that. She asks Carlos if he would do the honors. Carlos suggests Laz should go talk to Zeke.
Alf gives Jero a basket of grapes for defending her. Jero asks her about the woman at CFE’s hacienda. She confirms that Ponchito saw her yesterday.
Kari runs into the La Bonita kitchen to excitedly brag about her new job providing exclusive tablecloths. She also has the fabric (tela) for Mati’s wedding dress.
Doc Marina and Padre reveal to Alfonsina that Dr. Dried Up is sterile. He’s not having kids with her or anyone! Alfonsina prays in relief.
A very perturbed CFE strides into the jail. He’s not happy about being summoned by Doc. Doc whines that Augi’s got to get him out of jail pronto. It’s all Augi’s fault that Doc’s in jail, he’s the one that made Doc dispense with Rafa’s autopsy. CFE points out that nobody believes a drunk. Doc says maybe, but Jero Linares would be interested to hear that Augi is a thief, basically robbing the grapes of La Bonita. When Augi found out Jero was going to terminate their contract Augie introduced (lanzar) the plague into Jero’s vines. We are introduced to a flashback of Augie going to his special infected vine, locked and caged as if it were a savage beast. He snips off a branch. Honestly, I laughed out loud at the idea of chicken wire managing to keep an infected vine separate from other vines growing right next to it. “Now the vines of La Bonita will know the rancor of Cruz de Amor!” cackles Augi. Hey folks, I don't make this stuff up, I just report it.

"I had a totally different take on the "theft" at the vineyard. I had trouble with the vocabulary & so am not sure I understood it all but here's what I heard --
Auggie & Dr. Nasty snuck into La Bonita and broke into the cage which had Rafa's special imported vinestock locked in. Auggie stole a cutting from the valuable vine which until then had been the exclusive property of Rafa. (Maybe that's why he only contracted to buy the entire harvest of that grape for three years -- after that he would have his own harvest of this wonderful new grape.) The doc is saying that not only was it theft but also a motive for murder since it would be better for Auggie if Rafa never discovered the stolen vine on Auggie's property. There was also something in the dialogue about the "plaga" but I didn't understand that part."
Augie snaps back into the present, shakes his finger at Doc and croaks, “You wouldn’t dare because that night you were just as guilty as I.”
Nata calmly does her graphics at Cruz de Amor. We hear scary music as someone sneaks up behind her. “So it is you,” accuses Jero, revealing his glaring hateful face. Nata of course looks stricken.
Doc Ick is not affected by CFE’s threats. He says there’s nothing left to lose and Jero, who hates Augi,is dying to pin Rafa’s murder on someone. Get him out or he’ll open his mouth. Doc, we believe you, now shut your gaping maw.
Jero coldly says he came to see Augi’s mystery woman and of course it’s Renata. Then he gripes about the divorce. He accuses, blames and jumps to conclusions. He says she is doing all this just to hurt him. Why Augi of all people? Is she blind? She doesn’t know the real Dunant. Funny, even when Jero’s right he sounds wrong.
Augi sags and agrees to let his lawyer defend Doc Ick. Doc says if he doesn’t see the lawyer within two days he’ll tell Jero everything.
As Jero calms down somewhat Nata hears her father’s words, that nobody must know where she is or why. She tells Jero he’s right. She wanted to get away from her problems and when Augie invited her she... Jero covers his ears and interrupts, it doesn’t matter because he and she are nothing.
Mati, Kari and Manuela gush over Mati’s fabric. Alfonsina busts in (pun intended) with the happy news that Doc Marina told her that her baby isn’t Doc’s. Kari looks stricken as Manuela scolds Alf for blurting the news in front of Kari. Alf says there’s more, “Kari the news is for you too. The doctora said Alvaro is sterile. You can have children! He was lying to you all this time.” Kari stumbles out weeping.
Aw jeez, aren’t these two done yet? Jero asks Nata why she made him believe there was hope for them? She asks him why he asked her to marry him when all he wanted was revenge? Auggie & Dr. Nasty snuck into La Bonita and broke into the cage which had Rafa's special imported vinestock locked in. Auggie stole a cutting from the valuable vine which until then had been the exclusive property of Rafa. (Maybe that's why he only contracted to buy the entire harvest of that grape for three years -- after that he would have his own harvest of this wonderful new grape.) The doc is saying that not only was it theft but also a motive for murder since it would be better for Auggie if Rafa never discovered the stolen vine on Auggie's property. There was also something in the dialogue about the "plaga" but I didn't understand that part."
Augie snaps back into the present, shakes his finger at Doc and croaks, “You wouldn’t dare because that night you were just as guilty as I.”
Nata calmly does her graphics at Cruz de Amor. We hear scary music as someone sneaks up behind her. “So it is you,” accuses Jero, revealing his glaring hateful face. Nata of course looks stricken.
Doc Ick is not affected by CFE’s threats. He says there’s nothing left to lose and Jero, who hates Augi,is dying to pin Rafa’s murder on someone. Get him out or he’ll open his mouth. Doc, we believe you, now shut your gaping maw.
Jero coldly says he came to see Augi’s mystery woman and of course it’s Renata. Then he gripes about the divorce. He accuses, blames and jumps to conclusions. He says she is doing all this just to hurt him. Why Augi of all people? Is she blind? She doesn’t know the real Dunant. Funny, even when Jero’s right he sounds wrong.
Augi sags and agrees to let his lawyer defend Doc Ick. Doc says if he doesn’t see the lawyer within two days he’ll tell Jero everything.
As Jero calms down somewhat Nata hears her father’s words, that nobody must know where she is or why. She tells Jero he’s right. She wanted to get away from her problems and when Augie invited her she... Jero covers his ears and interrupts, it doesn’t matter because he and she are nothing.
Mati, Kari and Manuela gush over Mati’s fabric. Alfonsina busts in (pun intended) with the happy news that Doc Marina told her that her baby isn’t Doc’s. Kari looks stricken as Manuela scolds Alf for blurting the news in front of Kari. Alf says there’s more, “Kari the news is for you too. The doctora said Alvaro is sterile. You can have children! He was lying to you all this time.” Kari stumbles out weeping.
Aw jeez, aren’t these two done yet? Jero asks Nata why she made him believe there was hope for them? She asks him why he asked her to marry him when all he wanted was revenge? He accuses her of being cruel and tells him at least she kept it short. She waxes about Augi’s loyalty and honesty (hack hack) and Jero practically loses it.
As he leaves she asks him a favor. Could he please not tell anyone he saw her there? He says no worries, he’s not about to tell anyone his ex-wife is Dunant’s lover!
Damn you, you bitter bastard, for making our Renata cry...again.
Avances: Renata sees Jero kiss Doc Tata’s hand.

Teresa Thu 8/25/11 #124 Freak shark attack reported in resort town outside Mexico City
We begin this capitulo with a replay of the Barreras getting busy, pobre-style.
CHEZ CACERES. Rueben has come to sweet talk Aida, but she’s generally unreceptive. He wants to make nice and would like nothing better than be back with Mayra, but Aida’s seen to this movie before and knows that the guy with the bigote is lying.
Rubes laments his current situation—no money, no family, can’t get a job bcz of the scandal. Aeeeeeeeeeeeeeda warns him that he’s barking up the wrong tree if he’s there to ask for money. He says he just stopped by to see how she’s doing. Strangely enough, she opens up to him about her woes.
They move on to discuss the disturbing creepitude that is Roots. Rubes looks more and more uncomfortable as Aida talks about crazy lady’s plan to literally replace her dead son with a new baby. He offers to stop his paternity suit if Aida wants him to. She waffles, but once she finds out that the rrrrrrrrata de vecindad is on the other side of the lawsuit, she wants her dad to win the hell out of it, just to show up that arribista. They get in some gloating over Ter’s recent downfall (El Bigote doesn’t have much room to gloat here, really). I believe she says she’ll even hold up the sale of the LT condos just to keep Ter from getting any pesos. Spiteful much?
VECINDAD: Too-Hot-Pati and Grumps mostly FF--> Long story short, she should be in school, he’s gonna get surgery tomorrow. He was more a parent to her than her real parents. She’s all he’s got in the world.
CHEZ JUANA: Juana reads a letter from Aurora, and we fade into a voice-over of the lady herself explaining that she just had to get away from it all—especially Mariano. His kiss has changed her life, but he’ll never get over Ter. She doesn’t want to be his paño de lagrimas (tear-towel) again.
CASA BARRERA, ahem, CASA FERNANDO: Fer and Luisa are in some major besofest. They decide to stay the night and presumably christen the casa as theirs.
VECINDAD: Art is still asleep the morning after their kitchen lovin, but Tiburoncita is up and thought-bubbling internal ultimatums. If he doesn’t accept some moolah from Fer pronto, she is going to tomar las riendas de mi vida (take the reins in my life) like she always has. Viewerville has no doubts as to what exactly she will be taking in hand. Or rather who. Art wakes up and Ter immediately starts in on how they gotta get out of the VC. Art notes how quickly she is backtracking on the ‘by his side’; but she says that she will go anywhere else, no matter how humble, just not this particular VC. She leaves in a bit of a huff.
HOSPITAL: Dr Sanchez reassures the THP gang that Grumps will be ok. Does anybody really care? Buttberto gives some cash to help pay for the surgery, despite the fact that we all know that Grumps is well off. I suppose it’s just to make the rather down-on-Butts viewership think that he’s a tipazo. Butts shares his grand plan of making Juana jealous by pretending to gigolo it up with Odiana.
VCD: Ter decides to show Art what pobre life is really all about and shuts off the hot water while he is in the shower. This leads to what my husband referred to as a “gratuitous shower scene”, complete with unnecessary lingering on SR’s dripping bod as he is subjected to the horror of cold water. Ter leaves him to his fate.
HOSP. CORRIDOR: Mar harasses Juana about Aurora’s dondeabouts. He at least wants J to plead his case with Aurora. He never knew what a good thing he had with her until he lost it. J softens and spills the Cuernavaca beans. He is rewarded with a hug, and I thought for a second there it was going to be a kiss. He really spreads it around.
Mar promises J he won’t finger her as the bean spiller. Hector shows up and sends Mar off. He talks to J about how mad he is at Mar. He hopes that Aurora never sees his stupid face again. Mar “ya paso de la raya.” (was out of line, took it too far)
VCD: Art is leaving for the day, and sneezes, apparently having caught a cold from the horror of the shower. As he gets out his monogrammed silk hankie, some VCD thugs eye his fancy watch. They discuss their target as they amble over: “le viste la muñeca?” (muñeca meaning both wrist and doll, not sure here if they are specifically referring to the fancy watch on his wrist, or mocking Art as a dandy, or perhaps it’s a terribly clever vecindad pun that encompasses both). In any event, Art proves he’s a man up to the challenge by hitting the panic button on his car key. The new cop comes running and warns Art not to keep his fancy car and fancy watch her in the VCD.
HOSP LOBBY: Juana arrives and she and Butts argue. Yawn.
CASA FER: Fer tries to convince Art to move into his apartment. Art, now having been truly subjected to the horrors of VCD life, reluctantly agrees, as long as he can pay some rent. Fer wants to tell Ter right away, but Art wants to prepare a special surprise. That just smacks of foreshadowing, if you ask me.
Fer gives Art his keys to the apartment and a suspicious amount of attention is paid to the keychain, which is a memento of Art’s parents. Art and Fer share a minimal contact, hands on the shoulder embrace (SharkByte, is that an approved BroHug form?) and Art declares their friendship “inquebrantable” (unbreakable). Is it just me, or do ya’ll see that shark-shaped anvil too?
SOMEWHERE ELSE IN CASA FER: Luisa and Ter discuss her moving (back) into the house. Ter gives her keys. Luisa wants Ter to keep them though because she is a total sucker. Luisa confirms that she and Odiana will be leaving Fernando unguarded, errr, going to the spa for the next few days.
HOSP LOBBY: THP pleads Butt’s case.
Later on, Mar tells the THP gang the good news about Grumps’ surgery. Butts gets so excited he smooches Juana, and she freaks. She runs Butts off.
Ter comes in to check on Grumps. Really? No, she’s really there to see Mar, let’s face it. Juana confesses to Ter about spilling the CV beans about Aurora. She is worried that she’s gonna get in trouble about the Mar slip, and Ter is furiosa. She pretends it’s cuz Juana should have respected her amiga’s wishes, but we all know it’s because Mar wanted to see Aurora so badly. Ter selflessly volunteers to go to CV to warn Aurora.
BOUTIQUE: Art shops for Ter. He knows his lady—he finds an expensive, tight dress, and asked the saleslady to help him find some shoes and bag to match (haga juego).
VCD: Art returns to their little love nest with presents for Ter. This is actually a very sweet scene—he lays everything out on the bed for her to see and puts a note on top. It makes my heart hurt, knowing about that anvil that is hanging over Artie’s head right now.
Luisa shows up, she’s happy about Art’s decision, and drops off her departamento keys. Oh yes, she is going to CV as well. Everyone’s going to CV. Lu mentions that Ter went to the hospital and Art immediately suspects a Mariano visit. Luisa tells Art not to be jealous; Ter just went to see Grumps, duh. Everyone suddenly cares about Grumps.
GRUMPS’ HOSP ROOM: Mar heads off happily to CV.
HOSP LOBBY: Ter and Juana talk about the CV bean spill some more. Ter lets drop that she and Art are having problems that have nothing to do with Mariano (for once). Armando shows up with some papers for Ter to sign, which she does and tells him she’s off to CV.
CHEZ ROOTS N BOOTS N NUTS: Rubes shows up and he and Geno share some gross reunion besos. Everything is set for the kidnapping/adoption scheme. Rubes has apparently given in to the Paulo naming. We hear that Roots is keeping Rubes on a short monetary leash these days.
CHEZ FER: Odiana and Lu head to CV. As Lu takes her leave of Fer, we once again see THE KEYCHAIN. Lu gave it to him so that he would remember her always. And the only woman he is allowed to be with while Lu is gone is Teresa. Oh, if only she knew.
GRUMPS’ HOSP ROOM: Now Art has gone to see Grumps? QTF? Grumps is grumpy. Turns out Art is just looking for Ter. He finds out that Mar went to CV. Johnny keeps talking, but meh.
CUERNAVACA: A very sexy Mar shows up in CV and scares the grocery bags right out of Aurora’s hands. He offers her a flower and asks her forgiveness. She’s heard this song before and rejects his apology rose. How can she resist his dark, smoldering charm? Oh wait, it kind of looks like he has chest hair stubble to match his 3-day beard; that’s a little disconcerting. Anyway, he begs her to hear him out, just as Ter walks into hearing range.
Oh, I thought she was going to spy a bit. Nope, she barges right in and tells Mar that Aurora wants none of him. She came to CV to get away from him. Aurora corrects: ‘I came to get away from everyone, TERESA.” Mar tells Ter to amscray, and she tells him to amscray, but Aurora stands up for herself and says that she will be the decider here. And what she wants is for Ter to leave her and Mar alone. Ter is shocked. Shocked, I say.
Aurora clearly and firmly states that she is indeed kicking Teresa out. Ter is quite affronted, and tries to take the high ground about coming there to help her as her mejor amiga, but Aurora, who totally took her spine vitamins this morning, interrupts her and say that she doesn’t really want to see her just now. So smell ya later. Ter is PO’d as she leaves.
GRUMPS’ HOSP ROOM: THP, Butts, Grumps talk about the food Grumps can’t eat anymore. Juana enters and Butts leaves. THP goes with him.
Later Espe comes in and she and J talk about Juana’s BIG SECRET (her infertility) while Grumps pretends to be asleep, but overhears.
CV: Allright Team Maurora, this is it. Mar goes in full throttle. He was stupid to never have seen what a great woman he had by his side all these years. She says ‘yeah, the one that you never knew how to appreciate’. ‘But I did!” Mar goes into a long speech on Aurora’s many charms (he mentioned bondad twice, so i had to look it up-goodness), and she looks like she’s softening a little. He finally confesses that he had wanted to ask her to be novios before, but she had just started with Martin. And then later, he was with Aida, so well, you know. He just wants a chance to show her that he really does appreciate and ‘querer’ her now (no amar yet!).
HOSP LOBBY: Art finds Armando and asks after Ter. Armando tells Art about Ter going to CV. Art assumes the worst and looks more devastated than mad. Armando can’t give him any details about Ter’s reason for going to CV. Uh-oh. I can see the stress showing on that rope holding the anvil.
CV: Mar leans in for a kiss, but Aurora holds strong against the all-out charm assault. She doesn’t want to end up disappointed like Aida. Plus she needs a little Aurora time to deal with all these new emotions in her life. Dude, if you love something, set it free man.
Mar admits he messed up, but wants a chance to show her that he’s changed. He leaves the flower, and she just walks off, leaving Mar to show himself out. And guess who’s waiting. She just knew that he would forget this stupid Aurora plan, because who he really loves is her.
And I think we all know what happens in Cuernavaca stays in Cuernavaca.

La Fuerza del Destino #16 Wed 08/24/11 Ivan Lays the Groundwork for his Master Plan, the Meandragons Implode, and Camilo Goes on a Guilt Trip

I missed some details in this one, so here's hoping someone will fill in the blanks for us.
Antes, the whole closing scene from yesterday:
Ivan dines with Maripaz and pretends to romance her. He gives her the idea that nothing will happened between them without her getting a divorce. Carlota consoles Lucia over Lucrazia's ridiculous tirade, telling her that their money problems are the result of Lucrazia's past mistakes. If it comes to that they'll sell the house and live at the ranch. Esther waits up for Maripaz, who argues with David, then demands a divorce. In the morning Maripaz tells her that she won't have to wait up for her anymore and says that David has an announcement. JJ asks whether they're telling them that they will be abuelos (yeah, you wish). Judith jumps for joy, even Saul says “You didn't waste any time” in a nice-teasing way, but David announces that they will be getting a divorce. JJ assumes this is about their money situation, but Maripaz opens her big mouth about David's ED, saying that he couldn't cut the mustard on the honeymoon and that he's gay. He denies that, saying he has an impotence problem and the family feud goes on.
Ivan calls Lucia and arranges to have lunch with her.

La bodega: Camilo and Ivan talk about Ivan's sadness about his mother and his son. Camilo tries to tell him that it's been years, but Ivan tells him it's like an open wound in its heart. He intends to make the Curiels pay big for what they did to him, his mother, and his son. “You told me Lucrazia pushed for Lucia's engagement and Maripaz' marriage because of money and position.” Camilo responds “I suspected that.”
Casa Mondragon: Juan Heil-Me really lets David have it, going on about “Nobody gets a divorce in this house” and how a loca and a poco hombre will not bring shame on him. He turns to Saul and tells him not to get any stupid ideas either. After he and Saul leave the room Maripaz yells to Esther and David that she will seek a divorce on grounds of incompatibility without telling the truth, then exits. Esther asks Judith to talk to Maripaz, to reason with her; Judith tells her that when Maripaz gets onto something God can't make her change her mind.
E: Why didn't you tell me she was so willful, so bad?
J: I thought she was in love with David, but if my brother has this problem, it's normal for...
E: It's not normal. A wife who discovers a husband's weakness should be patient, affectionate, not argumentative and running out in the middle of the night, leaving him alone Do you know where she went?.
J: No, Mama. With her friends, or to a party...
E: Don't tell me she was with another man.”
Señora, usted es una avestruz.
La bodega: Camilo and Ivan talk about Lucia's engagement, with Ivan saying something about Ivan messing with this. Camilo understands about Maripaz, but not Lucia. Ivan tells him he'll be doing her a favor because Saul isn't right for her. This segues into Ivan's expression of gratitude to Camilo for saving his life. Camilo looks confused, then Ivan tells him about what Antolin told him after the fight was over and that he will always be grateful. Camilo looks like he's about to panic.
Tony enters, talking about buying this location. He and Ivan walk off, with Camilo thinking about Antolin's lie.
Commercial break
School: Lucia talks to a kid who stays up all night watching inappropriate TV programs in his room. It sounds like his parents pay little attention to him. Saul calls Lucia to apologise about the other day [Why is she answering her cell phone during a session with a patient?] and to ask her out. She tells him she has a lunch date with colleagues. He buys it and hangs up.
Casa Curiel: Maripaz tells Cleto to take her suitcases out of her (David's) car, then tells Carlota what just went down. She gloats over how this almost gave JJ a heart attack. Again David's impotence is mentioned (There is no privacy in either of these families). Just as she leaves the room Esther calls to talk to Lucrazia, but ends up telling Carlota the ugly details of the argument. How JJ was furious and won't permit a divorce. We have to get them to reconcile. Good luck with that.
Hotel Lobby: Ivan and Tony discuss business, with Ivan asking Camilo whether his sister would like to work for them. He says he thinks so because she currently works in a restaurant for minimum wage and tips. The chauffeur didn't show up and Camilo asks for the day off to take care of personal stuff. Ivan tells Tony he has an appointment and they briefly mention locating the maid who worked for the Curiels when Maripaz was pregnant. After Tony leaves Camilo tells Ivan it's about his ex, then makes an uncomfortable exit. The desk clerk tells Ivan that Maripaz had called; he tells her that he is not in to Maripaz in future.
Bar: Camilo looks for Antolin; he's pissed as he walks out.
Casa Galvan: Antolin is at home, taking heat from the womenfolk. Camilo slugs Antolin over the lie about the knifing. Antolin says he had no choice and a few other things I didn't get. From Celia's reaction it's obvious neither of the guys told her about this.
Hotel: Lucia appears to dine with Ivan and they talk about her work and the two kids she dealt with that morning. One had found a pistol and a dead body, the other is the TV addict. PSA about kids having TV in their rooms not being a good thing because parents don't control what kids watch [Editorial remark: That's why this story airs at 9PM EST.] He changes the subject to his confrontation with Carlota and asks for her understanding. She tells him that in the end she couldn't lie to him. He is grateful for her honestly. Flashback to their childhood and the pool incident. He explains that he was fascinated with Maripaz, with the intense feelings of an inexperienced youth, but was only an adventure for Maripaz. “But I was in love with her like an idiot.”
L: Are you still in love with her?
I: Is that important to you?
L: No. I know what my sister's feelings are.
Casa Curiel: As Carlota gazes at the portrait of Don Teodoro, Lucrazia gets home complaining about what's going on at the ranch. Carlota tells her about Maripaz coming home. Lucrazia gets on Maripaz' case, telling her she's to go back now and apologise. Maripaz refuses, claiming she has better prospects. When Lucrazia says there are no better prospects for her she tells her that she has one that's much richer and generous: Ivan McGuire. Lucrazia flips her lid over this, screaming about Ivan being the child of a servant. Maripaz loses it after hearing Lucia told Ivan what really happened to the baby.
These two need to get over themselves. The trouble with narcissists is they never face the fact they have issues.
Commercial break
Casa Curiel: Lucrazia tells Maripaz to give up this idea because Ivan hates them. They won't be getting any help from his company and Maripaz better return to her husband's house. Maripaz asks “He hates Lucia, too?” “Didn't I just say he hates all of us?” Lucrazia leaves in frustration and Maripaz picks up the phone. The hotel receptionist tells her that Ivan is not in. She pouts.
Hotel: Ivan tells Lucia about Alicia's death and that it's all the fault of the man who made her pregnant. Then Mari's rejection and the loss of his son. He sees she is crying, goes to her and apologises. He kisses her and she turns away. He asks her to help him find his child. She would accompany him on the weekend to meet with Incarnación, the maid who worked for the Curiels. Surely she would remember Lucia and that would be helpful. Lucia isn't sure what to tell her mother. Ivan suggests the truth or to make something up, anything. She isn't happy about this, but he pleads with her in the name of old friendship. He then gets the food, but she makes an excuse. He insists on giving her his cell number. A kiss and a few tears later she leaves without eating anything. Ivan realizes he's interested in her.
Universidad: Esther talks to David – who hasn't been home all day – over the phone about Maripaz' departure and JJ's anger. David appears to have no intention of returning. After he ends the call Lucia appears. He starts to tell her what happened and she spares him having to repeat it. She tells him there is a professor there who can help, but he doesn't want it known all over the place (talk about playing ostrich) and wants her to help him. She tells him she doesn't have the background for this, but that they could try once.
This is so wrong on so many levels.
Casa Mondragon: JJ demands to know where David and Maripaz are, peppered with insulting remarks, as usual, and he's obviously in denial about how many tongues are already wagging (in the wrong way).
Hotel: Ivan tells Tony about his conversation with Lucia and how complicated the encounter was. He asked her to accompany him on the weekend to meet with the maid. Tony asks him whether this is a good idea, in view of Lucia being unmarried and with a fiancé. Ivan answers that she hadn't accepted yet, but said she would think about it.
Casa Lomeli: Carolina talks to Antolin about his fight with Camilo. He's one cynical dude, with no belief in personal integrity: “Este mundo no es por honorados”. Gerry comes home and Antolin mentions the possibility of him helping him out about a business. Before he leaves he roughhouses with Alex before changing into shorts so they can play football.
Casa McGuire: Tony and Ivan talk about Ivan's need for justice and his need to find his child. He needs to know what happened, whether the child was adopted and by whom. He doesn't want to live forever with the anger. He's angry at the indifference from Mari's family at their own flesh and blood. Tony agrees and expresses empathy, but also the wish that the innocent are protected and that this doesn't cause more hurt than good. Wise dude.
Commercial break
Casa Curiel Morning. JJ arrives – ominously dressed in black – to drag Maripaz back by her hair. Lucrazia and Carlota are having their morning coffee as they talk about Mari and David.
L: I've told her in a thousand different ways why she should go back to him but she's being naughty [necia]. She only insists on a divorce.
C: If she doesn't want to what are we going to do? Neither is Maripaz a girl who can be made to do what you want.
Cleto enters to announce JJ's arrival and Lucrazia isn't really ready to deal with him.
C: Surely he's come for Maripaz.
Lucrazia expresses frustration but doesn't give instructions to put him off. She gets up and runs her fingers through her hair with an expression of resignation. Interesting how she's willing to face this music and not other.
Hotel: As Ivan works on his laptop the desk calls to tell him that Maripaz is calling for him.
Clerk: Will you take the call or should I say you aren't here?
He consents to take the call although he'd rather not.
I: Hola, Maripaz.
M: Hello, my love. They said you weren't here. I was thinking you not want to talk to me because of the lies Lucia told about me.
I: No, what it is is I've been a little busy.
M: You don't believe them, do you?
I: Look, I don't want to talk about your sister or that you talk about us.
M (only momentarily impactada): Can we see each other later?
I: Of course we can.
M: Good. Call me at my mother's home. I told the whole family about the divorce. How's that?
I (satisfied facial expression): That's very good.
Casa Curiel: JJ demands that Maripaz return to his home.
JJ: ... I've come for my daughter-in-law.
L: Maripaz doesn't want to go back, nor can we make her live with a man who is not a man.
JJ: Unimportant. Either she comes back or I will get her to.
C: This is not your home, Juan Heil-me. You can't just come here and [make demands].
JJ: Well, what do you think? That I want to look ridiculous in front of the whole world?
C: In this house we don't like shouting.
JJ (expression of mild irritation): I'm sorry, Doña Carlota. Lucrazia, this can't be. Leastwise now in front of the gringos. We must think of the scandal. We need those loans. I suppose it's as urgent for you as for me. [need help with the rest of his statement]
Nobody but the viewers realizes that Maripaz is eavesdropping.
L: What do you want us to do? Of course we need money, more than you do, but Maripaz is very stubborn [terca]. I was talking to her all evening and she doesn't want to..
JJ: Lucrazia, You are a smart woman. I'm sure you can make her understand. Explain the situation to her. She's to come back until the gringos give us the money and after that she can have what she wants. [Do we really believe him?]
L: Very well. I'll try one more time.
JJ: You don't know how grateful I am.

I didn't get the fine details of their conversation, but the gist is that Antolin doesn't quite believe that Saul really has any feelings for Lucia. He suspects that the relationship is directed by JJ. Saul says something about Lucia being the only decent/respectable woman around.
Saul calls Lucia to ask her out to dinner but she puts him off, telling him she's tired and will talk to him another day. She hangs up before he can react. Saul pretends to still have her on the line, saying “Many kisses, my love.” He says nothing to Antolin, who probably figured out what happened.

Casa Galvan: Celia tries to talk to Camilo, who is still guilt-ridden over the incident. She asks who really killed the other guy. He tells her it doesn't matter and ironically, Ivan is grateful for his life being saved. But he's crying because Antolin accuses him of murder “...and he's my brother.” Celia tells him the family will stick together through anything. Camilo doesn't seem to buy it, getting up angrily and going on about Antolin [missing details here due to combination of anger and music]. He also goes on about how Antolin didn't give a damn about what happened to Ivan afterward. Celia seems to ignore what Camilo is implying, saying that Ivan did well, he's back, and Sra. Lucrazia could have had him arrested. Camilo is now deeply conflicted, resenting Ivan's good fortune compared to his own lack of it. He even owes his present job to him.
This guy also needs a shrink and Celia needs a reality check.
Casa Curiel: Lucia gets home as Lucrazia and Carlota talk about the girls,
L: I know they'll say it's all my fault and maybe they're right, but I always wanted the best for my daughters and my family.
C: I know, but what you think is best perhaps isn't for them. Maripaz and David have different tastes [gustos], and Lucia has broken it off with Saul. They have nothing in common.
L: How? When did this happen?
Lucia enters and kisses her mother.
Lucrazia: What's this about you breaking up with Saul?
C: Sorry, hija, but she had to know sooner or later.
Lucia: Mama, Saul and I are taking a break to see if we should stay together.
Maripaz – who was obviously eavesdropping again – enters with an attitude.
M: You broke up with Saul?
Lucia: That is not your business.
M: Of course it is my business. And you know why? Because you're still in love with Ivan. As you always were. Now that he's rich and has position, you're all over him.
Lucia: That is not true
M: Yes, it's true. Or why would you talk trash about me?
Lucia: No, I only told him the truth.
M: Your “truth”.
Lucia (trying to exit): I don't have to put up with this.
M (grabbing Lucia's arm and pulling her back): You're not leaving, coward. You don't have the guts to tell this in front of us.
Lucia: So I talked to him. He asked me some questions and I only answered truthfully. About everything you did.
M: I didn't do anything.
Lucia: You had a baby you tried to abort. The whole time you went on about hating the baby.
M: Don't you argue with me. One thing is clear: You're never going near Ivan again.

Antes, the whole closing scene from yesterday:
Ivan dines with Maripaz and pretends to romance her. He gives her the idea that nothing will happened between them without her getting a divorce. Carlota consoles Lucia over Lucrazia's ridiculous tirade, telling her that their money problems are the result of Lucrazia's past mistakes. If it comes to that they'll sell the house and live at the ranch. Esther waits up for Maripaz, who argues with David, then demands a divorce. In the morning Maripaz tells her that she won't have to wait up for her anymore and says that David has an announcement. JJ asks whether they're telling them that they will be abuelos (yeah, you wish). Judith jumps for joy, even Saul says “You didn't waste any time” in a nice-teasing way, but David announces that they will be getting a divorce. JJ assumes this is about their money situation, but Maripaz opens her big mouth about David's ED, saying that he couldn't cut the mustard on the honeymoon and that he's gay. He denies that, saying he has an impotence problem and the family feud goes on.
Ivan calls Lucia and arranges to have lunch with her.

La bodega: Camilo and Ivan talk about Ivan's sadness about his mother and his son. Camilo tries to tell him that it's been years, but Ivan tells him it's like an open wound in its heart. He intends to make the Curiels pay big for what they did to him, his mother, and his son. “You told me Lucrazia pushed for Lucia's engagement and Maripaz' marriage because of money and position.” Camilo responds “I suspected that.”
Casa Mondragon: Juan Heil-Me really lets David have it, going on about “Nobody gets a divorce in this house” and how a loca and a poco hombre will not bring shame on him. He turns to Saul and tells him not to get any stupid ideas either. After he and Saul leave the room Maripaz yells to Esther and David that she will seek a divorce on grounds of incompatibility without telling the truth, then exits. Esther asks Judith to talk to Maripaz, to reason with her; Judith tells her that when Maripaz gets onto something God can't make her change her mind.
E: Why didn't you tell me she was so willful, so bad?
J: I thought she was in love with David, but if my brother has this problem, it's normal for...
E: It's not normal. A wife who discovers a husband's weakness should be patient, affectionate, not argumentative and running out in the middle of the night, leaving him alone Do you know where she went?.
J: No, Mama. With her friends, or to a party...
E: Don't tell me she was with another man.”

La bodega: Camilo and Ivan talk about Lucia's engagement, with Ivan saying something about Ivan messing with this. Camilo understands about Maripaz, but not Lucia. Ivan tells him he'll be doing her a favor because Saul isn't right for her. This segues into Ivan's expression of gratitude to Camilo for saving his life. Camilo looks confused, then Ivan tells him about what Antolin told him after the fight was over and that he will always be grateful. Camilo looks like he's about to panic.
Tony enters, talking about buying this location. He and Ivan walk off, with Camilo thinking about Antolin's lie.
Commercial break
School: Lucia talks to a kid who stays up all night watching inappropriate TV programs in his room. It sounds like his parents pay little attention to him. Saul calls Lucia to apologise about the other day [Why is she answering her cell phone during a session with a patient?] and to ask her out. She tells him she has a lunch date with colleagues. He buys it and hangs up.
Casa Curiel: Maripaz tells Cleto to take her suitcases out of her (David's) car, then tells Carlota what just went down. She gloats over how this almost gave JJ a heart attack. Again David's impotence is mentioned (There is no privacy in either of these families). Just as she leaves the room Esther calls to talk to Lucrazia, but ends up telling Carlota the ugly details of the argument. How JJ was furious and won't permit a divorce. We have to get them to reconcile. Good luck with that.
Hotel Lobby: Ivan and Tony discuss business, with Ivan asking Camilo whether his sister would like to work for them. He says he thinks so because she currently works in a restaurant for minimum wage and tips. The chauffeur didn't show up and Camilo asks for the day off to take care of personal stuff. Ivan tells Tony he has an appointment and they briefly mention locating the maid who worked for the Curiels when Maripaz was pregnant. After Tony leaves Camilo tells Ivan it's about his ex, then makes an uncomfortable exit. The desk clerk tells Ivan that Maripaz had called; he tells her that he is not in to Maripaz in future.
Bar: Camilo looks for Antolin; he's pissed as he walks out.
Casa Galvan: Antolin is at home, taking heat from the womenfolk. Camilo slugs Antolin over the lie about the knifing. Antolin says he had no choice and a few other things I didn't get. From Celia's reaction it's obvious neither of the guys told her about this.
Hotel: Lucia appears to dine with Ivan and they talk about her work and the two kids she dealt with that morning. One had found a pistol and a dead body, the other is the TV addict. PSA about kids having TV in their rooms not being a good thing because parents don't control what kids watch [Editorial remark: That's why this story airs at 9PM EST.] He changes the subject to his confrontation with Carlota and asks for her understanding. She tells him that in the end she couldn't lie to him. He is grateful for her honestly. Flashback to their childhood and the pool incident. He explains that he was fascinated with Maripaz, with the intense feelings of an inexperienced youth, but was only an adventure for Maripaz. “But I was in love with her like an idiot.”
L: Are you still in love with her?
I: Is that important to you?
L: No. I know what my sister's feelings are.
Casa Curiel: As Carlota gazes at the portrait of Don Teodoro, Lucrazia gets home complaining about what's going on at the ranch. Carlota tells her about Maripaz coming home. Lucrazia gets on Maripaz' case, telling her she's to go back now and apologise. Maripaz refuses, claiming she has better prospects. When Lucrazia says there are no better prospects for her she tells her that she has one that's much richer and generous: Ivan McGuire. Lucrazia flips her lid over this, screaming about Ivan being the child of a servant. Maripaz loses it after hearing Lucia told Ivan what really happened to the baby.
These two need to get over themselves. The trouble with narcissists is they never face the fact they have issues.

Casa Curiel: Lucrazia tells Maripaz to give up this idea because Ivan hates them. They won't be getting any help from his company and Maripaz better return to her husband's house. Maripaz asks “He hates Lucia, too?” “Didn't I just say he hates all of us?” Lucrazia leaves in frustration and Maripaz picks up the phone. The hotel receptionist tells her that Ivan is not in. She pouts.
Hotel: Ivan tells Lucia about Alicia's death and that it's all the fault of the man who made her pregnant. Then Mari's rejection and the loss of his son. He sees she is crying, goes to her and apologises. He kisses her and she turns away. He asks her to help him find his child. She would accompany him on the weekend to meet with Incarnación, the maid who worked for the Curiels. Surely she would remember Lucia and that would be helpful. Lucia isn't sure what to tell her mother. Ivan suggests the truth or to make something up, anything. She isn't happy about this, but he pleads with her in the name of old friendship. He then gets the food, but she makes an excuse. He insists on giving her his cell number. A kiss and a few tears later she leaves without eating anything. Ivan realizes he's interested in her.
Universidad: Esther talks to David – who hasn't been home all day – over the phone about Maripaz' departure and JJ's anger. David appears to have no intention of returning. After he ends the call Lucia appears. He starts to tell her what happened and she spares him having to repeat it. She tells him there is a professor there who can help, but he doesn't want it known all over the place (talk about playing ostrich) and wants her to help him. She tells him she doesn't have the background for this, but that they could try once.
This is so wrong on so many levels.
Casa Mondragon: JJ demands to know where David and Maripaz are, peppered with insulting remarks, as usual, and he's obviously in denial about how many tongues are already wagging (in the wrong way).
Hotel: Ivan tells Tony about his conversation with Lucia and how complicated the encounter was. He asked her to accompany him on the weekend to meet with the maid. Tony asks him whether this is a good idea, in view of Lucia being unmarried and with a fiancé. Ivan answers that she hadn't accepted yet, but said she would think about it.
Casa Lomeli: Carolina talks to Antolin about his fight with Camilo. He's one cynical dude, with no belief in personal integrity: “Este mundo no es por honorados”. Gerry comes home and Antolin mentions the possibility of him helping him out about a business. Before he leaves he roughhouses with Alex before changing into shorts so they can play football.
Casa McGuire: Tony and Ivan talk about Ivan's need for justice and his need to find his child. He needs to know what happened, whether the child was adopted and by whom. He doesn't want to live forever with the anger. He's angry at the indifference from Mari's family at their own flesh and blood. Tony agrees and expresses empathy, but also the wish that the innocent are protected and that this doesn't cause more hurt than good. Wise dude.

Casa Curiel Morning. JJ arrives – ominously dressed in black – to drag Maripaz back by her hair. Lucrazia and Carlota are having their morning coffee as they talk about Mari and David.
L: I've told her in a thousand different ways why she should go back to him but she's being naughty [necia]. She only insists on a divorce.
C: If she doesn't want to what are we going to do? Neither is Maripaz a girl who can be made to do what you want.
Cleto enters to announce JJ's arrival and Lucrazia isn't really ready to deal with him.
C: Surely he's come for Maripaz.
Lucrazia expresses frustration but doesn't give instructions to put him off. She gets up and runs her fingers through her hair with an expression of resignation. Interesting how she's willing to face this music and not other.
Hotel: As Ivan works on his laptop the desk calls to tell him that Maripaz is calling for him.
Clerk: Will you take the call or should I say you aren't here?
He consents to take the call although he'd rather not.
I: Hola, Maripaz.
M: Hello, my love. They said you weren't here. I was thinking you not want to talk to me because of the lies Lucia told about me.
I: No, what it is is I've been a little busy.
M: You don't believe them, do you?
I: Look, I don't want to talk about your sister or that you talk about us.
M (only momentarily impactada): Can we see each other later?
I: Of course we can.
M: Good. Call me at my mother's home. I told the whole family about the divorce. How's that?
I (satisfied facial expression): That's very good.
Casa Curiel: JJ demands that Maripaz return to his home.
JJ: ... I've come for my daughter-in-law.
L: Maripaz doesn't want to go back, nor can we make her live with a man who is not a man.
JJ: Unimportant. Either she comes back or I will get her to.
C: This is not your home, Juan Heil-me. You can't just come here and [make demands].
JJ: Well, what do you think? That I want to look ridiculous in front of the whole world?

JJ (expression of mild irritation): I'm sorry, Doña Carlota. Lucrazia, this can't be. Leastwise now in front of the gringos. We must think of the scandal. We need those loans. I suppose it's as urgent for you as for me. [need help with the rest of his statement]

Teresa Wed 8/24/11 #123 The Slap Heard ‘Round The World
REPRISE
Teresa and Mariano are conversing on the sidewalk at the vecindad. Mariano tells her about his feelings for Aurora, and Teresa is uncomfortably surprised at this news.
Teresa balks at the notion of Mariano having romantic feelings for Aurora. However he confesses these feelings have been brewing for some time. Now he hasn’t seen her in a couple of days and he can’t stand being away from her; he’s desperate. Teresa is dismissive. She says this isn’t love; he’s simply accustomed to being around her, nothing more.
Mariano disagrees. He previously wanted to start a relationship with Aurora, but then Martin came along. It was difficult for Mariano to see them together, but he knew he had no right to interfere; then he started up with Aida.
At this, Teresa quips that his tryst with Aida was just to make her jealous. Mariano rolls his eyes and is tired of this game. He corrects her – he really thought there was a chance with Aida – Teresa interrupts to point out it’s over with Aida, and so too will it be fleeting with Aurora. Mariano again disagrees: it’s different with Aurora; he realizes he has strong feelings for her.
Teresa, reverting to teenage drivel, snaps that she knows he’s just saying that to annoy HER. Mariano firmly says, “I want to be very clear, now that Martin is gone I will strive to earn the love of Aurora!”
As she fights back tears, she sarcastically says she hopes he doesn’t pass on Aurora as he did with Aida. Teresa turns and slowly walks away as she begins to lose her composure. While Mariano turns in typical guy fashion to check-out her curvy rear-end, he enjoys seeing that Teresa is a little crushed by his admission of romantic feelings for Aurora, as he thinks, “I hate to see you go baby, but I like to watch you leave!”

Too-Hot Patty’s grumbling grandfather is in a lot of pain, lying in bed with the worst stomach ache of his life. He must have drunk the water. Johnny comes barreling in showing everyone a big cake he got for the old grouch’s birthday. The old man says “Cake now? You want to kill me, you wild piece of crap?” Takes one to know one, dude.
Grumpelstiltskin obviously needs medical attention so they all go to the hospital.
CHAVES HOUSE
Juana enters the Chaves home to find Teresa having a good cry about Mariano, but Tiburoncita lies and says she’s upset about a client. Then she goes on a histrionic teenage-style rant about the current state of affairs, how Arturo is unwilling to do what is necessary to quickly get out of the vecindad (like selling his condo shares) and how some mean girls came over and made fun of her. Juana comforts Teresa as she acts like a sad 4-year old that got her feelings hurt.
HOSPITAL – HECTOR'S OFFICE
Aurora says her goodbyes to Hector as she is leaving for Cuernavaca. Aurora says she did not tell Mariano where she was going.
OUTDOOR CAFE
Esperanza and Juana are taking baby Rodrigo for a stroll. The subject of course turns to men. They agree Hernan is pretty cool, you know, for a guy. Juana says she’s glad Espe married a good man, because love is what matters. Espe reads between the lines and knows Juana is thinking of Boobberto. Espe thinks it would not be good for Schlepberto to marry the “rich lady” because he actually wants Juana.
TERESA'S APARTMENT
Teresa answers a knock at the door. Behind door number one, it’s Paquita’s “hunkasaurus-rex”, Fernando. He flirtatiously says Teresa looks even more youthful despite her living conditions and says, “Also, wherever you are, your beauty shines even more.” (Ok, that’s a good line; I’m going to have to use that sometime. I guess when you’re an international playboy you’ve got lines like that ready to go anytime.)
Fernando offers Teresa his economic support. She declines on the grounds she doesn’t want to abuse his friendship (yet).
Fernando gives Teresa the news that he will have his inheritance in three months, and will be married in one month. Teresa does a double-take and can’t believe it.
OUTDOOR CAFE
Esperanza advises Juana to tell Slopberto that she can’t have children. Juana says it’s too late for that because she has invested a lot of time with Hector.
Well, well, well... enter the dragon – it’s Ruben – he spots Espe and confronts her. He demands to see his child. Esperanza tells him he has no right to visitation, as she almost miscarried due to his boorish attack on her. Ruben says he was just desperate at the time. The situation is being reviewed before a judge and meanwhile he promised Arturo he wouldn’t disturb the baby; he only wants what’s best for his son.
TERESA'S APARTMENT
As Teresa and Fernando talk, they flirt and get closer and closer. Eventually they are sitting on the couch holding hands. Teresa says Oriana told her that Fer and Luisa were moving to Spain for a while, and she is going to miss him and parenthetically says she’ll miss Luisa too. He says those plans are still in flux and Tiburoncita is relieved.
Tere asks for his help convincing Arturo to sell his Turquoise Moon shares as she moves even closer to him.
And closer to him.
And closer still.
Suddenly Arturo barges into the apartment and catches them!
Fernando looks like he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar, and startled, they both quickly pull away from each other.
After Teresa awkwardly runs off to “borrow some sugar”, Arturo directly asks Fer if he told Teresa about the plan to test her. Fer says he didn’t violate the Bro Code on that particular item.
Fernando tells Arturo that Teresa doesn’t belong there; it’s a depressing place. Arturo disagrees.
Arturo says he and Teresa are going to stay in the vecindad a bit longer. Fer tells Arturo this is a mistake. Teresa is desperate to get out and it’s unfair that he has her there. Arturo says he just needs to be sure of Teresa’s love and because if she runs into Mariano... Fer abruptly shouts, “Enough, Arturo, you cannot go on doubting Teresa! Don’t you see the way she looks when she kisses you? Teresa has shown you that she loves you, but you’re a FOOL, you’re pushing TOO HARD!! So if she gets tired and goes from here, YOU will be the only culprit!!”
PARKING LOT
Ruben and his poorly behaved troglodyte sidekick, Fito, are walking through a parking lot plotting the kidnapping of baby Rodrigo.
Fito is dressed like he's going to a Leather Bar later. He just needs a pink feathered boa and he’s good to go. Hey Fito, update your wardrobe, every queen in the vecindad has a leather jacket just like that. Tool.
Ruben confirms with Fito that the kidnapping will take place on Saturday, during a party. Ruben gives Fito a piece of paper with the address. Fito isn’t familiar with the location, but Ruben tells him he will describe the layout to him in detail. The scene fades as these sleazes work out their plan.
Hey Ruben, I have a special dessert for you. I just made it myself. I left it on your doorstep. It's called “nature's corn”.
HOSPITAL CONFERENCE ROOM
Mariano walks into the conference room at a time when Aurora is usually there, but she is nowhere to be found. Magda says Aurora finished her shift and said she doesn’t have to return anymore. Magda said she would tell Aurora when to take her exam, and then Aurora left.
Mariano doesn’t understand; this will mean Aurora will be gone almost a month. Magda surmised from Aurora’s behavior that something was definitely wrong, but she didn’t pry. She figures it had to do with Aurora’s break up with Martin. But whatever the case, it is clear to Magda that Aurora is avoiding Mariano.
Mariano calls Aurora again, and again, she will not pick up his call. He leaves her a voice mail: Aurora, I think I have saturated your mailbox with my calls, but please call me. I send you a kiss.
In the hallway, Patty, Johnny, and Grumpy stop Aurora as she is leaving. They tell Aurora about Grumpy’s condition and she refers them to Dr. Dario.
BARRERA HOUSE
Teresa shows up to visit Luisa. Luisa says she thought Arturo would have changed his mind by now and returned back to the Barrera home, but Tere confirms that’s not going to happen. Tere then smiles her shark smile and says she feels better knowing Luisa is there with Fernando.
HOSPITAL CONFERENCE ROOM
Aurora is telling Magda about Patty’s grandfather and says she’s leaving now. Just then Mariano enters. Magda gets out of dodge.
Mariano walks toward Aurora saying it is good to finally see her. Aurora replies that she told Mariano she wanted to put some distance between them. Mariano says, “Yes, but that was when you were going to marry Martin, now you are not.”
As Aurora starts to respond, Mariano Sshh’s her. He softly tells her, “Aurora, you do not know how much I missed you. I have not stopped thinking about you. ”
He cups her face gently with both hands. He leans in and softly kisses her and gradually the kiss intensifies. Oh yeah baby... and...

BARRERA HOUSE
Teresa and Luisa chit-chat about the wedding plans and Spain. Teresa made a three-day reservation at a spa in Cuernavaca for Oriana and Luisa as a wedding gift. Teresa says it will help them bond. But Teresa asks Luisa not to tell Oriana that it was her idea.
HOSPITAL CONFERENCE ROOM
Aurora asks Mariano to respect her decision [and give her space]. Aurora says Mariano had her affection for a long time, but he did not realize her value and love. Now she’s not sure she wants a romantic relationship with him. Mariano is perplexed and asks why. She’s angry about his kiss that ruined things with Martin; she feels she really let Martin down.
Mariano pleads with her and says he can’t go on without her. She pulls away and irately tells him she doesn’t want to start a relationship with him while he still wants Teresa! He denies that he is still controlled by his feelings for Teresa. Aurora doesn’t want to hear it. Johnny and Patty enter the conference room and interrupt. Aurora bolts out the door, barely saying goodbye. Mariano is dazed and confused.
BARRERA HOUSE
Fernando joins the conversation and Luisa confirms with him that she and Fer will be moving into the house since Arturo refuses to move back.
AIDA'S HOUSE
Aurora stops by Aida’s house, who wanted to talk with her before she leaves to Cuernavaca.
Aida just has to know if Mariano is going to Cuernavaca with Aurora. Aurora tries to get it through Aida’s thick skull that she’s trying to get away from Mariano. Aida is dying to know if Aurora is going to try to be with Mariano. Ultimately Aurora is not sure, but she says, “For the first time I’m thinking about my life before everyone else. And it may seem selfish, but I will not be left as always, this ‘Dawn’ is over.” Aida says she’s going to be sick.
TERESA’S APARTMENT
Teresa is alone and laments that Esperanza is living like a queen with Hernan, Juana is about to be doing the same; even Johnny and Patty have a better place than her!
She flashes back to memories of Mariano when they professed their love for each other, and how Teresa refused to stay with Mariano in the vecindad.
Then she flashes back to early memories of Arturo.
AIDA'S HOUSE
Aida says she can’t believe Aurora is talking like that – where is the sweet Aurora?
Aurora says Mariano ignored her as a woman for so long. But his kiss changed everything. She needs time to sort out her feelings. She’s sorry, but even though Aida is her friend, she cannot promise her that she will not start a romance with Mariano! Aida is definitely feeling sick now.
HOSPITAL – MARIANO'S OFFICE
Mariano sits alone in his office still feeling the sting to his ego from the slap heard ‘round the world.
He flashes back to memories of Aurora.
JUANA'S APARTMENT
Hector is at Juana’s apartment. They couldn’t convince Aurora to change her mind so now that she’s gone, Hector will have more time to devote to Juana.
HOSPITAL HALLWAY
Grumpy Gramps is leaving and Dr. Dario gives him the usual advice to get plenty of rest. Dr. Dario tells Grumpy that by medical order, he can’t be left alone because bleeding can occur at any time.
CUERNAVACA
The future Mrs. SharkByte (Aurora) walks into her backyard pool area at Cuernavaca dragging her Disney Princess suitcase behind.
She flashes back to memories of Martin. Her last memory flash is of Martin saying, “You’ll never look at me the way you looked at him, let alone kiss me like you kissed him.”

PATTY’S APARTMENT
Teresa is telling Grumpy Gramps something about her toilet and Patty helping her. Gramps tells her to get lost.
JUANA’S APARTMENT
Pestberto is talking with Juana about being with him and not Hector. He asks Juana if they could hypothetically have their own children. Juana is on the verge of telling Slimeberto about her condition, when Mariano walks in, interrupting.
Stunkberto leaves for the night. Mariano begs Juana to tell him where Aurora went. Juana insists Aurora doesn’t want Mariano around. Mariano pleads with her, saying that Juana knows that Aurora loves him, and there is a lot that he wants to tell her.
PATTY’S APARTMENT
Grumpy Gramps goes nuts yelling at Johnny for putting his granddaughter in a position of having to be a maid for other people. They try to explain that Patty was just going to help out Teresa for a while, but Gramps won’t listen. He refers to Johnny as “loser crap”. I can’t argue with that. I’ll say this for Gramps, when he’s right, he’s right.
He continues insulting and yelling at Johnny and tells him to take off.
The other future Mrs. SharkByte (Patty) looks rather annoyed at her Gramps.
TERESA’S APARTMENT
Teresa complains that she has to clean the dishes. Arturo comes in and offers to help with the housework. Teresa looks so darn adorable as she gets the suds going in the sink. He comes up behind her and can’t help himself, as he embraces her from behind and goes for the ol’ neck kiss maneuver; a standard of the male repertoire.
The maneuver works as Teresa gets more and more turned-on and finally, it looks like Arturo and Teresa are experiencing a little wedded bliss after a very rough patch.
