Caray, Caray!

Secondly, I feel like I’m jumping out of a plane without a parachute since this is a totally YouTube version. I’m hoping I’ll have Univision working by next week. Anyway, I’m a caption junkie – so please feel free to fill in anywhere.

Lili is screaming for Ciro because Dr. Demented is going to give her Electroshock therapy. She screams and screams, and Dr. D says, Lili, you won’t feel any pain. Meanwhile Ciro, the mad scientist who is locked in his room, sets up what looks like a giant Molotov cocktail. While Dr. D and crew are working on Lili – Ciro sets off the bomb. Lucky Lili sets herself free. The asylum is in chaos. Ciro apparently blew himself out of the second floor window and is laid out on the grass below. Dr.D looks horrified. Smoke billows from the asylum. We hear heavenly music as a very confused Lili escapes.

Back at the office Fernanda is meeting with Gonzo, Damian, Anibal and Camilo (the Confederacy of Dunces) about Grupo Lactos, and Damian’s inability to seal the deal. Camilo jokes about the disaster of Damian’s trip and Gonzo tells him it is no joking matter. Gonzo puts it on Anibal to explain what happened– he gives all types of explanation, but really can’t explain it. Barb gloats to herself and notes how stupid Anibal is and what a silly thing Fernanda is because Fernanda still thinks she can go on with her project.

Lili, conveniently wearing a sweat suit, runs along the road.

Fernanda talks to Damian. What a pair of love birds – she’s in a strapless day number. Their chat ends with Damian talking about when they have children, a kiss goodbye, she gets on the elevator and he gets a strange look on his face. Has this marriage been consummated yet?

Anibal and Gonzo argue – Anibal says things are what they are, why am I to blame? He seems to always be the idiot and he’s tired of it. Gonzo wants solutions. Anibal says they need Franco Sontoro – he wants his help. They need another opportunity. Anibal winges that he’s the only one who really cares about the corporation. He also wants his sister’s help with PowerMilk and that Camilo needs to go to Franco Santoro’s house, too. Gonzo tells him to do it.

Barb and Damian talk about PowerMilk, but the most important thing she wants to talk about is Fernanda. El hijo de Soledad is about to arrive. So, what’s the big deal? Barb tells him it may be a threat to his marriage.

Erika and Nanda have a girl chat on the telephone. Erika has her hair wrapped in a towel and something smeared over her face. Erika tells her she has a new love and Fernanda wants to know where he came from. Erika says you’ll see Then Nanda asks her if she knows who has arrived. Nanda says Eduardo, and Erika is a little surprised. Nanda wants to see him face to face. Erika wants to know why Nanda wants to waste her time on such a bad dude as him? She wants to look him in the eyes to convince herself that such a sweet kid turned into such a cruel man.

Ed, from his car, is talking to Anibal. He mentions “buying” a beautiful horse. Anibal wants to know if Ed knows something and what he’s talking about. Ed says he has no idea. He’s had a complicated day. Anibal wants to see him as soon as possible (about his offer). Ed suggests they meet later – Anibal says of course. Ed wants to meet with Anibal and Camilo to let them know his decision. Anibal says he can count on that.

Anibal tells his secretary to call Camilo and tell him he needs to see him asap.

Damian meets with Barb and says what you’re saying is absurd. Apparently, the marriage hasn’t been consummated. She says make it happen today. She wants him to have control over Fernanda – and when Nanda is his, that’s going to happen. He says Nanda isn’t a woman who is easily manipulated. Barb mentions his weakness – it’s easier than you think. She has to get control over Fernanda because she thinks that Nanda is the only person who can cause her real problems. Damian says – what then – she says when the Elizaldes are ruined, they’ll have control of the company. For that reason they should not accept any help from Franco Santoro. Damian again says what then? She says, you and me – and they grab each other and mash faces in what looks like a painful kiss.

Santi is painting in his room when Aurora enters and slams the door and interrupts the flow of his creative juices. She’s got laundry – he tries to tell her she shouldn’t be doing this. She says it’s the least she can do cuz when she lived with Dominga she did laundry for the nuns and ironed. He keeps saying, here, no, but she goes on and on and then leaves.

Camilo goes to Anibal’s office where Anibal begins to tell him about meeting with Franco and what a jerk Camilo is and that he just uses the company for his pleasure. Camilo wants to know what do you expect, I’m a fun loving little pervert and this is what you get. They talk about the horse that Franco has and that he wants his support in giving his opinion about the animal he’s going to buy. Camilo wants to know who brought the animal. Anibal doesn’t know. Maybe from some contacts Santoro has in the U.S. In the end, Anibal wants Camilo’s help in fixing the mess that Damian made with PowerMilk. Camilo thinks this is funny. I’d like to wipe that smile off his face. Camilo is happy to meet with them this evening because he’ll have a good excuse not to appear at Fernanda’s dinner with Erika. They agree and Camilo exits laughing.

Prissy looks happy and says that today she’ll find out if she’s pregnant. She’ll wait a respectable period of time, but she can’t wait to tell everyone that she’s expecting a baby. She goes to her purse and looks for the fertility test results. Natch, she can’t find the envelope. But we know where it is. She searches frantically in the desk and other drawers. The maid enters with towels. Break

Back at the ranch Priscilla is still frantically searching for the fertility report, and she asks the maid if she saw a white envelope when she was making up her room. Prissy is beside herself. Of course the maid knows nothing, and Prissy thanks her. She thinks and thinks where can it be and then she has a flashback to Vlad’s place and the phone call when she reached for her cell and her purse flipped over. Dios mio, says she. Right you are, girlfriend. Vlad is also flashing back, with great pleasure.

At the asylum Dr. Demented realizes his goose is cooked if he doesn’t find Lili and sends the two male orderlies out to find her. He has a fake book with a flask in it. He reaches in, removes the flask and has a drink when Adolfina knocks on the door. He conceals the flask and talks to her. He questions her about what happened and realizes that there was no accident. The whole bombing thing was done by Ciro (who got the stuff from an “almacen”???) on purpose to allow Lili to escape.

At the hacienda Fernanda and the maid are setting the table for the big “Erika” dinner tonight. Enter Santiago, stage left.

Santiago says she’s preparing a banquet for a nightmare named Camilo Elizalde. Fernanda asks him where is his “esposa” and if he’s falling in love. He says that’s a good question.

Outside, Camilo drives up, sees Aurora, says hello and at her obvious nervousness tells her to relax. He circles her like a vulture. He claims to be as tender as a little son. He says, tell me something, how did a girl as pretty as this rose end up with a jerk like Santiago. She says he is the most dear man in the whole world which sends Camilo, the jackal, into paroxysms of laughter.

Fernanda is still supervising the table setting. They forgot the flowers. She and Santi start talking about Eduardo. Santi thinks Ed has good reason to visit. She still doesn’t think he has ever given her a second thought and asks Santi do you know how many letters I wrote to him that he never answered. Santi is not giving up and says, go ahead look him in the eyes and ask your questions. Aurora enters looking unhappy. Camilo has followed her and says Santiago, your girlfriend. Learn about your little girlfriend. You’re in danger of losing such a beautiful woman if you leave her alone. The sleaze ball walks out laughing. Aurora looks sadly at Santi.

Ed/Franco is sneaking into Adolfina’s office. She walks in and goes into shock when he says “Buenos tardes.”

Erika is talking to her father on the phone. She thanks him for the gift – he tells her it was the best. Mama wants to talk to her – Erika tells her all is well. Mommy passes on the good word that after the Congreso, they are going to Paris. Mommy asks her about Fernanda’s wedding and Erika flashes back to seeing Camilo with Natasha and being beaten up by him. Erika lies and tells her mother it was a lot of fun and that it was all very pretty. Daddy sends his regards to Gonzo and all the family. Erika says she’s going to the Elizalde’s this very night. Mom asks if she’s going to see Camilo and Erika says no, mom, I’m going to introduce my new boyfriend. Mom is surprised.

Ed is asking Adolfina about Lili. Adolfina tells him about the bomb and that Lili is gone. That she took advantage of the confusion to escape. Lili is gone.

Ed wants to know if she’s sure. Adolfina assures him that they’ve looked for Lili everywhere and that she thinks the whole purpose of the bomb was to allow Lili to escape. Adolfina wants him to leave, but he keeps questioning him and tells him that Ciro treated Lili like his own daughter. She says he has to leave. Lili wasn’t supposed to have visitors – so he’s got to leave or else she’ll get in trouble. He says, one more thing. Does the Elizalde family know. She says not yet because if the family finds out, everyone who works at the asylum will be in big trouble. Ed writes something on a paper that he gives to Adolfina.

Lili is wandering on a road. A big truck comes by and beeps at her. She obviously hasn’t been in traffic for a while.

Prissy visits Vlad – what a surprise to see you he says. I came ‘cause I’m lonely. He asks her if she wants a drink. She starts looking around for the paper while his back is turned. He smiles his Cheshire cat smile at her. She says, Vladmir, we have to talk.

Ed is at a hospital, stops a nurse and asks where is the room of Ciro Palafox? She says he can’t have visitors and that he is very bad. He’s talking about Liliana – his wife or daughter. Ed pretends to be a doctor. She asks him if he’s Dr. Obregon. He says, “yes.” He calls the nurse “senorita” and she gives him a smile and her name. Sofia – he says, I’d like to see Ciro – she says with great pleasure, takes his hand and leads him down the hall.


Prissy and Vlad discuss their relationship. She says there could never be anything between them. He says you deserve a man who loves and cares for you, like me. She wants out gracefully, but, Vlad isn’t willing to forget so fast. She says she can’t see him anymore. He’s never seen a woman like her. She pulls away and looks puzzled.

Dr. Demented enters the hospital and is stopped by a guard. He wants to see a patient in intensive care. The guard asks if he’s a doctor. He says yes and pulls out his ID. The guard lets him pass. Meanwhile Ed is being suited up by a nurse – germs, you know. Sofia notices his biceps and triceps. What a flirt. He even gets a hat and mask and gloves. Looks like he’s going to operate. The other nurse leads him in. Sofia says she couldn’t ask for a more handsome doctor.

Ed, the imposter, enters Ciro’s room. He says he understands that Sr. Palafox is conscious. The new nurse tells him he’s sleeping now and hands him Ciro’s chart and offers him any help he might need. Ed gets down by Ciro and says, Ciro, its Eduardo Suarez, enemigo of the Elizaldes. Ciro opens his eyes. Dr. Demented now arrives at intensive care while Ed asks Ciro if he know about Lili. Ciro says, “si.” Ciro says something unintelligible. Ed keeps asking, where is she?

Lili has arrived at some town and takes a break. Ciro says not important and calls her mi hija. Ed says everyone is looking for her. Ciro says look in my pants. Ed pushes the button for the nurse.

Dr. Demented is told he needs a pass to enter and that somebody else is visiting Ciro now and Dr. D wants more information. Somebody is visiting my patient, Ciro, now? She answers the phone to what is obviously a personal call. Ed tells the nurse that he needs Ciro’s pants while Dr. D insists that the nurse tell him who is visiting Ciro – she can’t tell him. Ed looks at the stuff the nurse brought in and Ciro says he’s tired of it all. Ed goes through Ciro’s pants, finds the white pawn/queen??? and reads the paper. He’s shocked. We can tell by the look in his eyes. He realizes his mother wrote it. Ed now knows The Secret.

Ciro talks to Ed and says that the bomb was necessary to free Liliana and that this will also be his liberation. Meanwhile Ciro’s vitals are declining. Ed calls out to Ciro. Dr. D is having fits of anxiety. Nurse tells nurse Sofia that Dr. D wants to see the patient. Sofia asks him if he’s a doctor. Dr. D says he’s not just any doctor, he’s the patient’s doctor. She tells him the doctor is already there. Dr. D is getting more agitated. That’s impossible – is he in there. Sofia says just a minute – remember the biceps and triceps? Dr. D yells I’m Ciro’s doctor, me, me. He’s my responsibility. She says wait, wait.

Ed says Ciro, wait, wait. Meanwhile Nurse Sofia tells Dr. D to stop, stop; he can’t enter. Dr. Demented pulls his ID out. Sofia apologizes and says she couldn’t imagine such a thing. Ed hears the commotion.

Ciro flatlines.
Avances – Prissy finds out she’s pregnant. Is Lili at the mud wrestling hut? Barb meets with Aurora. Nanda wants to know the name of the “galan” accompanying Erika

Facundo tells Sapo that DB doesn't have half the money or power he has. Sapo says that DB's hate is more powerful than 20 armed men. Sapo describes to Facundo (and we see) all the horrible ways that DB killed the other four rapists. He says that he got this information from the late BP.

Gonzalo makes a big boo boo and tries to order Marisela to return to San Fernando with him. She tells him in no uncertain terms that no one tells her what to do and if he thinks he can order her around, he can have his ring back. Here, Gonzalo apologizes for his temerity and puts the ring on Marisela's finger again.

Juan Primito returns to El Miedo to get clean clothes for DB and Melquiades. He finds the Mondragon tribe holding the Altamira vaqueros at gunpoint. He tells them that Leoncia and Celeste are at Altamira but that he doesn't know where DB is.

After losing the baby, DB goes to the river to clean herself up.

Poor Melquiades is devasted at DB's loss of the baby.

He starts to become concerned when DB starts behaving as if shewere still pregnant.

Gonzalo also apologizes to the boat captain for interfering with his duties. The boat captain accepts the apology and shakes Gonzalo's hand but you can see that he is not really convinced that Gonzalo is a good guy.

Santos has no success in convincing Antonio that Sapo was responsible for attacking El Miedo or that Gonzalo is involved with him.

DB returns to Altamira. She is sweet and tender to Marisela who is obviously surprised. DB says that she doesn't need any medical attention and claims that all is well with the baby.

Los Mondragon are reunited with Leoncia and Celeste. DB tells them not to bother the people at Altamira but to go and stay at Danger's house. She says that tomorrow they will start repairing El Miedo.

Antonio tells Cecilia that he has to return to San Fernando because Lucia is alone in the hospital. Cecilia says that she is on vacation from her school and offers to spend time with Lucia and bring Tonito to see her. Antonio is grateful.

Melquiades tells Eustaquia that DB lost the baby but is either pretending that she didn't or really believes that she is still pregnant. He tells Eustaquia that whatever is going on with DB, they must say nothing about it to anyone.

Santos is making his ususal pitch about their need to be together to Marisela...

..when DB comes downstairs all radiant to say that she has just felt the baby move ('mi bébé me acaba de dar su primera patadita,' literally, 'my baby just gave me its first little foot').

Mari thanks Santi for coming back to (losing) his senses. She’ll take care of the sensible wedding and he won’t have to lift a finger. The first thing she does is call her brother to let him know. She says of course she’s going to marry him, she looooves him. Whatever.


Meno teases Greg about liking her daughter’s pa- in law, or her co-inlaw. My reception wacked out a little here but he makes a joke about her walking around like with her head in the clouds, and he mimics ringing noises, but she says the only one who’ll be hearing bells is him when she whacks him with the pot she‘s holding. She thinks she’s too old for such a thing and he makes a joke about not letting the spider webs grow on it. Feel free to imagine what "it" could be in this scenario.

Candy comes to visit the mansion and promises Ma she'll get her money back, Ma isn't worried and agrees to let Candi talk to Lu. She begs Lu to come to the institute to teach kids because she could save their lives. Lu finally agrees. Charlie is at the institute already with Barb and she tells him he needs a specialist (infectologist?) right away and so he agrees to contact the one they work with there. Thank goodness, finally some treatment efforts!

Candi shows up at the institute to find that Pato has sent pink roses. He’s waiting in her office and tells her he wants to invest in her Institute, he thinks her loan is going to be expensive, but he‘ll only costs kisses. She doesn’t want his money because this is her own creation, her project and she wants to do it on her own. Pato finally leaves that subject and instead tries to convince her to take off a day. Just one day, this week. She says after the inauguration she will.

Grego is dressed up and on the phone thanking someone for watching Chava and then talking to Candi that she’s on her way but as she is about to leave Arti shows up and wants her to go for coffee. She can’t obviously, but he offers to take her to where she needs to go. She gets a face.


Everyone is dressed up for the inaugural party and they decide that the name for the institute will be MILAGROS. They do chick high fives.

Marta, I guess, is the first guest and shows up with her HUSBAND. Candi is glad they are there. Smart hubby wonders how she came before if the opening is today. Candi explains it’s really a reopening about the name change and that they are going to specialize a little more in “sexuality.” Huh. This earns ominous looks from Marta and Lucio.

Horty is getting a treatment from Santi, some botox maybe? She wants him to take the cost out of her salary but he said he doesn’t charge friends. She tries to “refine” that definition with him, He says they are more than friends, but not lovers, brother and sister perhaps. She begs for his pardon and when he asks why, she grabs him and smooches him.

Just then Lalo shows up and sees it, and screams bloody murder! Santi runs out telling him he saw nothing and slapping him out of his reaction. Lalo like the good machista slaps back. Horty just smiles. Lalo finally calms down and goes to leave saying he‘s on his way to the grand reopening. Horty is beaming through the window but Santi tells her this will cost her (cobrar) which also means “cover” and so I think in this play on words she begs him to please cover (cobrar) her…:)

Thus Santi finds out about the reinauguration.


The Mariachis are playing the Tontas no Van al Cielo song, Greg sheepishly shows up with Arti, and Pato greets them. Candi begins to announce to everyone how the new center will dedicate itself to feelings and everyone being loyal to what they feel, as this is what truly matters. Huh? So if you are feeling like sleeping with your neighbor’s wife and then feel like you should steal his flat screen TV you should just run with that? Oh, maybe I’m missing some thing here. Then again maybe not because I realized Santi had that same idea later.

Anyway, Santi is missing something too as he shows up and announces to the crowd that this institute doesn’t come through with what they say they will do for you. He walks right up to Candi and claims it’s a joke, and then congratulates her in front of everyone and wishes her much success once he realizes no one laughed. On his way out he passes out his business card to everyone.

She takes him aside and Pato gears up to claim his territory. Before Pato arrives we learn Santi was a little bent because he didn’t get invited to the purple institute and he refers tons of clients to her! When Pato arrives, the pissing match starts, but it turns out that Candi wants to talk to Santi so shakes off Pato for now. Meno begs everyone to come and dance and tells Pato Candi knows how to defend herself.


Dancing ensues at the party.

Santi and Candi discuss that Pato is staying in her house but not her bed. Candi discusses that he’s marrying Mari. Santi thinks she’s jealous and insists that she loves him not Pato. Everyone pops in to check out their conversation.

Obviously I thought this was pretty funny. I think Jacquie flubs a line here calling Santi Pato, but he covers reminding her Pato is the one on the couch not him and the cameras keep on rolling.




We are flashed the building with the name Tower of Iron where Mari lives … she’s practicing her breathing and ignoring a call from Ali when the doorbell rings and surprise it’s Ali. They both warn each other about backing out of their deal.

Back at the mansion, Ma wants the nieto living with them, but more importantly wants her son happy. She asks him who is obligating him to do this marriage. He says he’s talked to a lot of folks and they all convinced him he’s doing what he needs to protect his child.

Candi stands in the entryway again and this time has flashbacks to times with Pato being cute and loving to what seemed like a rather loud La Quinta Estacion’s “Yo” until she sees Santi singing mariachi to her and curses that the Dr. Plastico always ends up in the middle. Pato finally comes out and wonders what she was talking about with him. Pato admits to being jealous, but sends it off dolor style and invites Candi to have a tequila.

In the meantime Barb drags Candi off to therapy thinking she looks happy but appears to still be sad inside. Barb wants Candi to admit what she felt when Santi kissed her on the cheek. She says fine it felt nice, but she wants to give Pato another chance.

Santi chats with Donato about safety changes to the mansion and changing those horribly dangerous plants. Now there’s a challenge, baby proofing a mansion. Life is sure tough. Donato too wants to see his boss happy and worries about the real reason for the safety excess.


Chayo interrupts to tell Candi that a girl is in her office wanting to talk only to the woman who writes the column. This girl, Aurora, wants help because she boffed her man, then he never talked to her again. Chayo keeps interjecting how men are all the same and Candi tries to chill that sentiment repeatedly so as not to jade the poor young gal.

Ma shows up to tell Mari if she messes with the son or grandson, she’ll answer to her. Mari mocks her. Ma is not amused and tells her she knows Santi doesn’t love her so why is she insisting on this.

Santi is going overboard making the house safe. He’s putting up gates, despite the kid not being able to walk or even crawl for at least a year.

The girl wronged goes to chew out boy with the entire institute in tow. He snips at her to come in so they can finish it once and for all and wonders what the heck all these other gals are doing. Candi tells her it’s her decision, and Aurora ends up deciding to tell him she’s not a rug to be trampled and to go and find some other doormat. She leaves with her support crew in tow.

Santi tells Mari to withdraw her money from the institute and instead put it into trust for their son, he just doesn't want any partners anymore.

Pato leaves Candi an envelope giving her directions somewhere. She tells Lulu she’s afraid if things don’t work out and what she would tell her son and she has regrets about involving him. Lulu very sensibly replies that she should just tell him things didn’t work out with his Pa, he'll still be Pa and end of story.

Lalo is imagining making out with Barb. She gives him a pin and says each time he thinks about being with another woman he needs to prick himself. He does this twice while in her office and declares it hurts and yes, it works.


Candi goes to an address, it looks like an empty house. A nice BIG empty house. In the meantime Lu gets a mean e-mail that everyone in school will learn you went out with a guy that has AIDS. Santi learns this and tells her they'll find out who did it and take care of it. Earlier we saw Mari penning that e-mail.

Turns out the house Candi and Pato are touring with champagne is going to be their house for their family.... impactada, and cut.

Buenas Noches y Feliz Dia de Tontos

Errika grins through her bruises at Franco, You wanted a horse and now you have one. And now your part of the bargain is to go to the Elizaldes tonight. A deal is a deal. He smiles, If this will let you get even (desquitarte de) Camilo, you can count on me.
Fernanda speculates how Eduardo is playing games having arrived yesterday but she hasn't seen him yet.
Speaking of playing, we switch to the stud on a stud showing us how to dance. [surely one of my favorite games] Errika sits on the grass bank enjoying the view with us. She rushes forward to grab a kiss saying she is just practicing (ensayando) for tonight, she is thrilled to add, so you will come by for me at 8pm?

Jacinto grabs his trusty bike, wait, yells Gardenia. He tells her to hurry up he has to get going. She says if this Franco has offered me work can I go with you. You and Margarita are the people I love most. I don't know if I want to live so far from you [like 5 minutes on a bike?] They ride together on his bike, he tells her to hold on tight so you won't get thrown off (veras azotas)

Ciro smiles down from his window at Liliana in the garden then he carries water a water jug to the desk, moves big pieces of aluminum foil from the bed springs, folds them into wads puts them into the water jug to make them float with his physics book nearby. What is this he is making? I'm not sure either.

The maid from the hacienda ask Margarita where Jacinto is, Fernanda wants to see him they are all waiting for this so and so (Fulano) to appear. Margarita says, Jacinto is gone until later then she decides to go to the hacienda to check on what Fernanda wants.

Dr. Friesminds continues beguiling Liliana by the fountan, we live in this hell the two of us, We have the fear the same person. We are both prisoners (presos), let's talk heart to heart. Finally are you going to tell me what I have been asking? Lili shakes her head yes. See it is easy to tell me all you told your sister. Then I will forget about the electric shocks. Liliana starts in a shaky voice, I told her that Barbara is a hyena because she is an animal that laughs while she kills. The employees at the hacienda all call her that. The white pawn will advance, her coronation is near. Dr. F, wheedles, you are trying my patience . Sshortly after, he is talking to Barbara who seems to enjoy telling her what Lili said about the Hyena. Tell me something I don't already know, she snaps. Dox tells her Lili is reluctant (renuente) to speak. Barbara gets to repeat, then roast her brain

Jacinto presents his sister-in-law (suegra) to Franco, Gardenia Campillo is at your service, she gushes (I would too) Jacinto finishes the introduction but she hesitates, I feel like I have known you before. Both men look alarmed but smooth as velvet, Franco smiles enigmatically.

Gardenia counters Ed saying you look like someone I have seen before too. How curious, says Franco to Jacinto's surprise. Gardenia fills in with her own explanation, it seems that the because of TV we have about 7 people that looks like us. Franco even more brazen adds, I have seen you somewhere. She insists, but I have never left this village. The Franco proposes, the first who discovers where they have seen the other has to buy tacos. Miss Spunky counters, with drinks and everything? It's a deal (trato hecho). As we go to break the black stallion is snaking the white mare. How beautiful to watch.

Wait here Margarita, while I advise Miss, I mean Mrs. Fernanda that you are here, says the maid going up stairs. BOW walks out of her office and accosts Margarita, what are you looking for here? Prisc gets her test and heads down the hall to the lab.

April Fools' Day! (Yes, the title is complete bull.)

Ahoy all, I switched nights with our own Burning Baby Buns tonight (Fuego de Rosca de Reyes) who is at a concert.

From last night: Chef Pat announces he's staying at Candy's house (that would be Meño's house) for a while. Meño and Greg take Candy aside and ask...oops bad edit, all of a sudden we're looking at a fountain in the middle of town...and right back to Meño and Greg giving Candy a hard time. Candy thinks she needs to give Pat a chance and Chava a family. Can he stay can he can he? Meño asks, are you in love with Pat? Candy thinks so. Meño presses, "no thinking, it's yes or no". Candy refuses to answer.

And now, tonight: Chayo and Lalo negotiate over a bottle of wine. She amuses them by pretending to execute Candy's threat, snip snip with the giant scissors on Lalo's privates. She says he needs terápia for his illness. He is like Michael Doooglas the North American, not in looks but in behavior; he has the sexopath illness. (I guess David Duchovny is not on their radar.) Lalo guffaws so Chayo simplifies things...if he wants to stay with her he visits Barbara, if he doesn't, forget it.

Beto asks Sole, when his dad moves in with Chava can he visit every day? Sole is impactada, when is this supposed to happen? Beto doesn't know, but why is his papa moving in with Chava and not with them?

Now we have that thing where they do short edits back and forth signifying that Candy and Santi the star-crossed lovers lovers are agonizing over each other at the same time. Team Candy is having dinner; Patricio overenthusiastically serves up pasta while Candy recalls Meño telling her the plastic doctor will be the love of her life. Flip to Team Santiago having dinner and him thought bubbling that the inevitable happened, the women met her prior love, felt a little tickling in her occiput, went back to the first love and left this man (Santi) alone; he sighs. Flip back to Candy who tells herself no more thinking about Dr. Plastico, Chava needs his papa. Back to Santi who tells himself he'll be with Marissa but he'll be alone, very alone.

The two witches pick up their phones:
Witch #1 Mariloca calls Santi to tell him she wants her partnership money. She's bored and doesn't want to be his partner anymore.

Witch #2 Malicia calls Candy demanding to know where Pat is. She scowls when Candy replies "living here in my house". (Yes, she said "MY" house.)

Candy arrives at work to find the Institutas milling aimlessly in the empty office. Marissa moved all the furniture out, including the stuff that Isa bought. They're all in a dither until Candy finds a note..."Remember the institute is in my name. I advise you to dedicate yourself to something else. Try table dancing, you have the employees. Love Marissa."

Chayo bellyaches they'll be "teiboleras" (that's how the CC spelled it). Sweet, thoughtful Lulu asks what about the clients? Candy tears the letter up and asks if they believe in miracles. They'll start from zero. They'll throw a party for themselves, their past clients, their clients and their friends. It will be a party to celebrate their new work, the miracle of being a woman and not dying in the attempt. (Here is a movie/book with the same title. I wonder which came first, the movie/book or the saying?)

The three cute kids are at school trying to wrap their little heads around the new living arrangements. They decide that even though Beto doesn't always return what Chava loans him, if Chava loans him his dad Beto will return him because he's Beto's dad too so he would just loan him back. At least I think that's what they said. It makes more sense than half the stuff that comes out of the alleged grownups' mouths.

Candy's miracle plan is that they will paint the Instituto lavender to get rid of Marissa's bad vibes. Ceci the feminist asks why doesn't Candy just borrow the money from Pat?

Santi walks Rocio home from school. He tries to casually slip in the question, did Candy meet Chava at school? Nope, his father picked him up because he's living with them now. Santi stutters, they're living in HIS house? Rocio spells it out for him slowly and clearly, the papa lives in the house of the mama.

Santi calls Candy and she tells him that Mariloca took all the furniture and the name of the Instituto. He says Mar told him she no longer wants to be his partner and honestly he felt he could breathe again. He sings a few lines from The Circle of Life and blathers about her relationship with Pat, it's natural she wants to be with her husband. She observes that he's hurt. (Duh, bitch.) He tries to pooh pooh, hangs up and almost...almost throws his phone. Donato appears and volunteers his shoulder in friendship. Santi says he thought he and Candy really had something. Instead of killing the phone he kicks the doorjamb and injures his toe, poor baby. Don says he'll give him a foot massage later.

Everybody's working so it's Sven's job to feed Chava tonight. He made him a triple decker sandwich which he he cuts in pieces while they talk with their mouths full. Gross, but it looked like they were having fun.

Pato comes home, scolds them for talking with full mouths, and digs into the communal sandwich. Chava asks if they can get Beto from Doña Cuca's house and all do their homework together. (I always laugh when they mention Doña Cuca..."Cuanto por las nachas Dona Cuca?")

Candy and Barb discover Marissa's hidden camera attached to Candy's wall. Well duh, Mariloca took everything out of the room so why wouldn't Candy see it? Our little witch is evil but she's also stupid. Marissa watches from her laptop as Candy rips the camera off the wall.

When Candy calls to yell at her Marissa denies it, "you're not that important" and gleefully boasts, "You lost your column and you lost your business, yes Raul is stopping your column. I'm going to win, I'm going to destroy you and then I'm going to be with Santiago, by sweetie!" Then she mutters she's going to make Candy pay for the camera. Dang she's bad!

Alicia, clad in a Bed Bath and Beyond shower curtain including the rings, tells Patricio she's giving him up not for Candy but because she loves him and wants him to be happy. "Thanks" he tells her as he tries to beat a hasty retreat. She reminds him he promised to help her out with that baby biz. I'm going to stop here to point out that whoever dresses Alicia should either get an award or be shot. Her clothes are hideous but she always seems to look fantastic in them.

Raul visits the orange and lavender instituto. Candy pulls him into her office and makes him fess up; yep he confirms that he will no longer publish her column, does she want to have dinner? She's pretty gracious about it, ignores his invite, thanks him for the opportunity and says she'll look for another magazine, but he should get help for his sister. "I know," he admits, "but sometimes it's difficult."

The next visitor is Lalo. He's there to see Barb for terápia. He tells her that Chayo thinks he's a sexopath. Barb flings herself at him, throws him against the wall and starts kissing him! Whoa...it's only a sexopath's daydream. He shakes it off as Barb stands in front of him, arms akimbo, "Are you OK?" Lalo says he'll see her first thing in the morning for his appointment.

The next man up is Santi. He's come to tell Candy he's sorry for the phone call and he's a good loser. He wants to tell her something to her face so she won't hear it through the grapevine, he's going to marry Marissa for the baby and because she's loco en la cabeza and needs help. Candy is muy pero muy impactada. Santi explains he'll marry Marissa and after she has the baby he'll have her declared insane. What does Candy think? (Sounds like a good plan to me.) Candy uses this as an opportunity to talk about herself. Santi says they are both making hard decisions, friends? Yes, friends, she sadly agrees. (But on the bright side, now that Santi is back with Marissa Candy will want to renew her relationship with him, verdad?)

Art shows up at Meño's restaurant looking for Gregoria. He tells Greg that Margarita for sure wants to divorce him. She invites him to go to the park with her and his two grandkids.

Two too-long talks:
#1 - Candy gives her client frigid Marta a long pep talk. Candy is all over this woman, she keeps forcing Marta to face the mirror to convince herself she's a woman and worthy. "The word pleasure is not bad." Whatever. She reassures Marta that she and Barb will help her.

#2 - Santi and a beautiful patient named Paty I think have a long talk about bubis and a bunch of other crap. It's basically a repeat of the conversation where she's talking about one thing and he another but he's paying better attention this time. I guess she's getting a bubi job and wants to make sure she'll maintain her, um, sensitivity if you know what I mean. The scene seems pointless but it's amusing. Hey, is this the same babe that Paula tried to hook Santi up with a week or so ago? She's quite the looker.

Greg and Art take Chayo and Beto to a restaurant. Apparently it's a ruse to get Greg to have coffee with him because he gives the boys a ball and tells them to go out to play. He tells her the fire with Margarita was extinguished completely, not even the ashes remain. She says she admires Margarita for leaving him because she knew Clemente had other women and she did nothing. She's always been afraid to face life without a man. (nudge nudge wink wink say no more) He takes her hand in sympathy and she snatches it away prudishly. He says he likes her skin. Horndog.

Back to the plastic doctor and his patient Paty, she's decided to go ahead and have the surgery. Paty gives Santi a hug (Paula did you see!?) just as Lalo peeks in the office. Lalo rings the bell, kisses Paty's hand and checks out her ass.

Santi tells Lalo he's going to get married. "To Candy, congratulations!!!" shouts Lalo. "Uh no, TO MARISSA!" Santi screams to a shocked Lalo. Santi tries to explain his reasoning and we discover exactly how to shut Lalo up once and for all.

Marta tells Candy that things went well with Barbara. Candy advises Marta to be strong in her journey of discovery. I wonder how much Marta had to pay for this stunning advice? I'll bet peyote would have been cheaper.

Art and Granny Gogo bring the boys home. Art's a fart but at least he treats them equally. Art tells Greg goodbye and "casually" brushes her arm. After he leaves, Meño tells Greg he doesn't know how she feels about Art but he can tell she's afraid of whatever it is she feels for him. Excuse me, but considering he pretty much offed her husband I think this whole plot line is just creepy.

Isa finds Santi sitting alone in his kid's treehouse. He looks sad and...OK I'll say it, he looks hawt!! Oops, sorry doctor Plastisco. He tells her he's going to get married. Isa's another one who thinks he's speaking of Candy, and she's another one who is shocked to hear he intends to marry Marissa. Santi explains, for like the fifth time tonight, that his friend the psychologist has advised he do this to protect his child. Isa wants to think he's pulling a prank on her but she can tell by his look that it's something else entirely.

Back at Casa Meño Not Candy the family enjoys another happy meal together. They support Candy in her new business endeavor. And hey, for the first time Gregoria makes a funny. She says she she'll ask the Virgin of Zapopan to help and the Virgin has never failed her; once she asked for a rich husband and she sent Candy's father, ja ja ja ja ja! Candy brings Pat up to speed on the whole being a woman is a miracle deelio. She educates Pat that being a man can also be a miracle but being a macho is a disgrace. Yawn.

Santi is at Mari's apartment and she smugly inquires what does he have to say that's so important? He glumly mutters that he wants her to be his wife. Wow, what a proposal. She can barely force herself to look impactada.

Sapo et al open fire on people trying to escape from the burning house.
Santos et al arrive at the boat landing. The hear shots and smell smoke and realize that El Miedo is being attacked. Santos tells the women to stay at the river but we know how likely Marisela is to follow that advice.

DB comes for Eustaquia and takes her down to the secret room.

Gonzalo wonders where everyone went.

Santos and his party start firing on Sapo and his guys from behind. Sapo splits his forces. When the boat captain announces that the national guard is there, Sapo's men want to leave but Sapo says that he won't leave until 'that witch' ('esa bruja') is dead.

DB gets guns from the secret room and starts firing back.

Santos goes inside the house through the tunnel into the secret room and Marisela follows him.

Santos joins DB upstairs. He asks if she is ok. "I'm fine, better than ever," she says, "This is the worst moment of my life. I need you and you are here. You see how much you love me?"

Santos and DB return fire.

The bad guys take off. Santos brings everyone to Altamira. Santos asks DB if it was Sapo who attacked El Miedo but she won't admit it. She starts to have cramping and Marisela takes her upstairs. DB says that she only needs a little rest and doesn't want the doctor. In a sweet scene, DB thanks Marisela for saving her life. She asks Marisela why she did since Marisela hates her. Marisela replies that it seems that she doesn't hate DB as much as she thought. DB asks if Marisela will forgive her but Marisela says that doesn't matter. DB tells her how Lorenzo forgave her before he died. She says it would be odd (curioso) if Marsiela forgave her too one day. Marisela asks who it was who attacked the hacienda and DB confirms that it was the enemy she warned Marisela about. She says she can't tell Santos who it was and she makes Marisela swear not to tell Santos either. DB says that this secrecy is the only way to protect Marisela and Santos from evil.
Geno and Pajarote reconcile and she is about to tell him about the baby when Gervasia arrives and tells her Melsesio wants to know what is going on.

Melquíades manages to get back to El Miedo. He assumes DB is dead until Juan Primito arrives and tells him that DB is ok.

Pernalete and Mujica arrive. They asks who did this. Santos says that he suspects Fidel Castell. Gonzalo arrives. Santos says that only DB actually knows what happens.

JP brings Melquíades to La Chusmita and tells him not to tell anyone except DB where he is.

DB tells Marisela that her huge engagement ring shows how much Gonzalo loves her. Marisela says that she can't get used to it and DB says that Marisela didn't inherit her modesty from DB.
DB continues to claim that nothing is wrong. She sends Marisela out to get her some coffee. JP shows up, tells her about Melquíades and DB says that she wants leave with him.

Marisela brings Dr. Arias to see DB but she is gone.
Gonzalo and Pernalete team up to insist that Santos has no proof that the attack on El Miedo was led by Sapo.

Los Mondragón and their cousins arrive at El Miedo and wonder what the hell happened.
Sapo tells Facundo that DB isn't just a woman. She's a witch who killed his four friends. DB seems to have gotten a psychological advantage over Sapo.

JP brings DB to La Chusmita. She says that she is losing her baby.

Marisela tells Santos that it is she who should be asking how he could do this to her. How could he say that he loves her after fathering a child on her mother. Santos replies that they have gone over this before and so they have. Marisela drags Santos away from Gonzalo's office.

Now Gonzalo realizes that Santos was right about Sapo and he is in big trouble. A little late, there buddy.
Genoveva is chatting with Néstor when she sees Pajarote. She excuses herself and arranges to meet Pajarote later to tell him something important.

DB is daydreaming about happy families when she sees Melquíades looking at her. He says that he is worried that Sapo won't quit until he kills her. DB agrees to let Melquíades go to San Fernando and try to kill Sapo again. She says that it isn't the death she planned for him but dead is dead so she'll take it.

After rehashing their positions once again, Marisela tells Santos that when she saw him patting DB's belly, she realized that they strongly tied together. Santos says that is why she decided to marry Gonzalo. Santos asks Marisela to feel him and remember their kisses and passion. How can she think Gonzalo can make her forget that. "I don't know," replies Marisela.

Now we know DB has completely domestic. She asks Eustaquia for some knitting needles (agujas de tejer). She wants to knit something for her baby with her own hands. She remembers how Eustaquia taught her to knit when she was a little girl.

Santos tells Marisela how much he loves her, that he will never go to back to DB. He holds her, tells her that he knows she loves him... Who knows what might have happened if Gonzalo hadn't appeared.

A strange sight - DB knitting. She realizes that Melquíades is right. As long as Sapo is alive, he is a threat to her and hers. Eustaquia comes in and DB tells her that all the men have gone on various errands. Eustaquia is concerned about their vulnerability but DB is sure that Sapo won't attack her hacienda.

Sapo tells Facundo that their transaction across the river tonight will be very profitable and he doesn't want any mistakes. Facundo says that as long as the guards don't show up, the merchandize should cross without any problems. Sapo says that it is all in the hands of the Commissioner then.

Santos and Gonzalo have their usual grade school argument about Marisela that ends up with them each pulling on her to go with him. Marisela tells Santos not to come looking for her again. Santos says if that is what she wants, he is leaving.

The captain of the river launches decides to defy Gonzalo's order and send some boats that can't be serviced out on patrol.

Melquíades tries and fails again to kill Sapo and he gets shot himself. (What happened to the efficient killer with the blowgun?)

Marisela tells Genoveva that her lips told Santos to go away but her heart wants her to be with Santos. She says that crying won't help. She will learn to love Gonzalo and asks Genoveva to help her. Geno says that she will do anything to make Marisela happy again. Then she goes to meet Pajarote.

Not surprisingly, Santos is drowning his sorrows in drink. Pajarote comes in. Unwisely, Pajarote enters into a conversation with Santos about the perfidies of women. Genoveva shows up for their meeting.

Geno and Pajarote say that they have to talk but they kiss instead.

Sapo is furious that DB tried to kill him and then Facundo tells him that the operation had to be abandoned because there were patrols on the river. Sapo decides that DB has gone to far. They will go to El Miedo right away and destroy the place.

Facundo tells Gonzalo that his people apparently don't respect his order because the river patrols went out. He says that won't help Gonzalo's political career and his friends won't like him anymore.

Geno tells Pajarote that she something important to tell him but she starts by asking what he feels for her. Pajarote says that when he sees her, he wants to kiss her, bite her, eat her, etc. Geno asks if he feels the same way about the Mondagon woman. Foolishly, Pajarote says that he feels the same for her as for any other woman. Naturally, this is not what Geno wants to hear. She says that she had something important to tell a man who cares about her but since she is just like the rest, she doesn't care if he doesn't know. "Goodbye," says Geno, "and try and die soon, Juan Palacious."

Gonzalo chews out the boat captain and the captain says to go ahead and report him. He has a spotless record and knows that he is in right. Antonio comes in and hears part of this.

The drunks, Santos and Pajarote, tell each other that women just don't get it (no captan) maybe because they don't want to get it (no quieren captar). They drink a toast to women even though they don't get it (bridemos por ellas, aunque no capten.') [illustrating the present indicative, infinitve and present subjunctive of the verb.]

Melquíades makes it to Marisela's room and collapses. He tells her that DB is in danger and Marisela has to warn her. Geno tells her that Santos is in the bar and Marisela goes to get him.

Antonio tells Gonzalo that he is being too hard on the Captain. Gonzalo replies that it is a matter of authority. He has given an order and it must be followed. Antonio says that Gonzalo is acting like the tyrants of the previous government.

Marisela tells Santos about the danger to DB. The boat captain and Antonio come in and say that the fastest way to get to Progresso is by boat. They all leave.

Gonzalo finds blood in Marisela's room.

Meanwhile, it looks like the wounded Melquíades is trying to walk back to Progresso.

Sapo's henchment douse the walls of El Miedo with gasoline and sets it on fire while they wait outside with guns drawn to prevent any escape. Meanwhile, Santos is on the way, with Pajaorte, Genoveva, Marisela, Antonio and the boat captain.


DB wakes up and realizes that the place is on fire.

Capitulo 31

From last night: We see Dr. Not Feel-So-Good pill pushing our poor Lili once again. If she doesn’t tell him what she told her sister Nanda, he’s going to give her electric shock treatments and she’ll be a crazy person for real!

Lili goes into the bathroom and makes herself vomit up the pills – you go girl!

Freduardo is driving with Jacinto, he tells Jacinto he needs to find out more from Liliana, Jacinto promises his and Margarita’s friendship and help once again.

Don Silvestre aka Gepetto is bragging about his daughter the “nurse” again to the Doctor. Martina tells the doctor how worried she is about her father. Martina and Daddy go to leave the doc’s office and Martina shakes the doc’s hand – they are obviously attracted to each other, otherwise we wouldn’t be hearing sexy “let’s get it on” type music playing in the background. The doc is kinda hunky, huh? He sort of looks like he could be Hawt Chef’s little brother from Querida Enemiga. He’s no FC, but then again, nadie es!

Fred wants to know if Gardena is working at the hacienda again because he’s got a solution for her. Jac tells Ed what a pain in the ass Gardenia’s been lately and says if Gardenia ever finds out about what they’ve done with Soledad, and that she wasn’t there for the original burial there will be hell to pay. Fr/Ed says he’s going to put Gardenia to work for him at Las Animas – he’s Franco Santoro now, remember?.

Speaking of Gardenia, she harping away at Margarita again about what an ingrate Fr/Ed is. Margarita keeps quiet, but looks like she might spill the beans to Gardenia sometime soon.

Prisci’s still lying around in Vlad-the-Impale-Her’s bed. She has her legs elevated at the foot of the bed – Vlad wants to know if that’s a new yoga pose. She says she’s relaxing, but all of us women who have ever struggled to get pregnant know, that’s what you do after the . . . ahem, deed is done . . . so as not to lose any of the precious little tadpoles needed for the makin’ of the baby! Vlad wants her to hang around a bit longer, he offers coffee, but she says she has to leave. She goes to get dressed, and Vlad smiles to himself.

Back at Don Silvestre’s shop, he and Martina discuss the Hot Doc. Daddy Gepetto tells her it’s time she got a boyfriend and she says, but who would want a “pueblina” (small town girl like her. He tells her it happens in the novelas all the time. (Yeah, just look at Aurora and Santiago!) He says the doc would have to be blind not to see what a good girl she is. Gepetto is in for a shock one day soon.

It’s dinnertime at the Hacienda of the Dysfunctional Rich People. The Barbinator is hammering away at Fernanda about Eduardo not showing up to transfer the coffin, and it definitely had to have been him who stole it. Nanda looks a little fed up with Babs and says she’s going to get to the bottom of it tomorrow herself with Eduardo. Cadmilho thinks it’s funny that Fernanda is now chasing the son of a servant. Anyballs can’t understand why they’re even bothering with this stuff. Fernanda and Santiago say it’s important to find out who robbed the coffin. Babs goes along with it and agrees, saying who knows just what kind of bad person Eduardo could have turned out to be, or how far he’ll go since he hates them so much. But, for once Cadmilho opens his big mouth at the right time and asks Babs if she’s forgotten that it was she who went and told his parents that Eduardo was trying to take advantage of Fernanda in the old barn that day. Fernanda is shocked to learn it was Babs who told on them. Nanda defends Eduardo, saying he didn’t do anything to her. Babs fakes being choked up, saying she was only trying to protect Nanda’s innocence. It doesn’t look like Prisci’s buying any of this story. Telephone rings in the background and the servant comes to say it’s a phone call from the US. They all agree it must be Eduardo. Nanda goes to the library to take the call, picks up the phone and automatically says, “Eduardo” – Ruh Roh – it’s her husband Dumian! He’s like, quien the hell is Eduardo? It’s me your husband! Nanda explains the confusion. Dumian says he’s bored, Esteve Norton (Esteve has a last name!) hasn’t been able to see him, and Dumian is feeling like a monkey in a cage. He tells Nanda he misses her, she hesitates, and never answers him.

We switch over to Errorika and Freduardo at Las Animas. She’s come by to give him a surprise and hands him an envelope. She says they have something to celebrate and tells him to open the envelope.

Back to the dining room, Nanda returns and tells them it was Dumian. AnyBalls wants to know how the business deal with Pow-where Meeelk is going and Nanda tells him Dumian hasn’t been able to see Esteve yet. AnyBalls asks what else he said and she repeats that he said he misses and loves her. Cadmilho thinks this is hilarious and Anyballs is just pissed. Nanda is furious and cries to Daddy Gonzo about how her stupid brothers are treating her. AnyBalls looks like he’s starting to sweat about Dumian not making the deal yet – probably cause they’ve got no money left. Gonzo tells Cadmilho that the two of them are going to have problems if Cad continues picking on his sis. Cad makes another wisecrack. AnyBalls wants to know what Cad’s going to do about Errorika. Cad’s not getting it – he says relationships end, why is there so much drama about Errorika? He wants to know if he has to marry her just to make everyone in the family happy. AnyBalls (who is showing signs of some little ones right now now) says at least if you’re not going to marry her, the least you could do is not disfigure her face! Nanda wants to know que the hell they’re talking about. and AnyBalls let’s the gata out of the bolsa that Cad practically beat Errorika to death. Cadmilho tries to defend himself by saying he was drunk so it doesn’t count and starts cackling with laughter. Gonzo finally says Basta! He gets up, goes over to Cad, picks him up out of his chair and gives him a damn good hard slap across the face and screams at him to shut up! They all look on stunned – including Cadmilho. Babs stifles a chuckle.

Back to Fr/Ed’s Nest where Errorika has given Fr/Ed ownership papers to a horse that’s very expensive. Fr/Ed says he can’t accept it. She says they have lots of horses and that this horse isn’t worth half as much as the favor he’s going to do for her. This horse must be the gift her parents sent her.

Back at dinner, Gonzo says it’s shameful what Cadmilho has done. Nanda says that Cad is an animal, but no she says, animals have more feeling that he does. She says Errorika should report him to the police and have him thrown in jail. Poor Aurora looks like if she stays in that house one more days she’ll wind up with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder – drunken Dominga is probably starting to look normal to her. Nanda and The Cad continue screaming at each other until Gonzo yells Basta! Gonzo tells The Cad that if Errorika decides to press charges against him, he won’t be moving one finger to help Cad. Nanda says she’s going to invite Errorika over to beg her forgiveness for what’s happened. Cad says he doesn’t remember what happened and he doesn’t have anything to say he’s sorry for. Daddy Gonzo orders Cad to be there and to say he’s sorry. Cad walks out.

Back at Fr/Ed’s Errorika is saying that maybe it took being hit by Cadmilho to find out just what kind of worm he really is (que clase de gusano es). Errorika’s phone rings, it’s Nanda calling to invite her to dinner and tells her she just found out what happened with Cadmilho. Nanda says they’re all sorry for what happened and will she come for dinner tomorrow. Erika confirms with Fr/Ed that he can go tomorrow and tells Nanda she’ll be bringing someone. Erika tells Fr/Ed she can’t wait to see Cad’s face when he sees her with another guy. Fr/Ed tells her he feels a bit uncomfortable going to dinner because he’s doing business with the family now, but he’ll go. She’s happy and scampers off.

Nanda tells everyone at the table that Erika has accepted and will be bringing someone to dinner. Prisci changes the subject and tells everyone that the fertility specialist said she and Anibal are both fine and that one day soon there will be a baby in the house. Barb fakes happiness. AnyBalls excuses himself from the table and ruins the moment.

Fr/Ed is on the phone with Esteve, saying how frantic Dumian must be waiting for Esteve’s call, and that tomorrow night he’ll be seeing Fernanda once again. He says Esteve will confirm that the Elizalde business is in a financial crisis. Esteve says he’s going to bombard Dumian with questions about Grupo Intolerancia de Lactos. Fr/Ed tells Esteve he wants it to be obvious that Damian’s trip to NY was a complete disaster, and that Damian comes back to Mexico empty-handed.

Ay ay ay! Gardenia is pissed off once again because Jacinto has told her he’s found her a job at Las Animas with the Engineer that’s moved in. She’s mad because they didn’t talk to her first. She says she doesn’t need them, she’ll go somewhere far away and find her own job. Looks like this time Gardenia has pushed Jacinto to his limit. He yells that they’re just trying to help her, but if that’s what she wants to do then fine, nobody is going to stop her. He gets up and walks out. Margarita just shakes her head at Gardenia and goes to calm Jacinto down.

Santiago is happily whistling to himself while making up the couch for him to sleep on for his slumber party with the light of his life, Aurora Borealis. She gives him a peck on the cheek and tells him he’s the best person she’s ever met. He says he’s sorry his sister isn’t her normal self with all that’s going on, she’s usually a lot happier. This reminds Aurora of what she saw through the window on Nanda’s wedding night – Babs and Damian goin’ at it. Aurora says poor Fernanda. Santiago jokes about snoring – I could snore through his scenes with Aurora.

Margarita doesn’t think it’s a good idea for Gardenia to be working at Las Animas, that she’ll probably recognize Eduardo. She says Gardenia loves Eduardo more now than when they were kids. Jacinto agrees. Jacinto and Margarita get lovey-dovey with each other.

At the hospital, Doctor Guapo asks a nurse about Martina. She says she doesn’t know of any nurse named Martina. Speaking of Muddy Martina, she’s telling her teammate about Doctor Guapo. El Jefe shows up and tells them to hurry up. He tries to get Martina to be more “friendly” with the clients again, but she says she can’t be bought and that if he brings it up again she’ll break his face. How ladylike – Gepetto would be so proud.

At the Cukoo’s Nest, Lili tells Ciro how Dr. Evil threatened her with electric shock treatments. She tells him she asked Eduardo for help, but he didn’t answer her. Ciro says he’s got the answer. Ciro says tonight he’s going to create a distraction so that the Reina Blanca (White Queen) – Liliana – can make a call for help. He tells her not to worry and she goes back to her room. Ciro pulls a book off of his shelf and looks at what appears to be algebra problems. He goes to put the book back on the shelf and he knocks over the box that Soledad hid under the floor, that Lili left in his room. He finds the papers inside and reads them – Ciro is muy impactado and says, “Santo Dios!”

At the Hacienda, Nanda is in her room obviously not able to sleep. She goes to the window for fresh air and Smart Nanda shows up behind her. The two Nandas figure out that Eduardo must’ve been sent away because Soledad got wind of Eduardo trying to take advantage of Nanda, even though it wasn’t true. They think it’s strange that he never even came back for vacations. Barb knocks on the door and comes in pretending to be worried about Nanda. Nanda tells Barb she’s worried that Eduardo thinks it’s her fault that he got sent away to school, because of all the gossip about him trying to take advantage of her. Babs assures her she wasn’t responsible for that, and Babs encourages Nanda to talk to Eduardo. Babs swears that Eduardo will never cause Nanda anymore pain, but to herself she thinks that “bastard has to come back and deal with his mother”.

The next day, Nanda is one the phone waiting for Eduardo’s secretary to connect her. Santiago stands by listening. Eduardo tells the secretary to tell Nanda that he’s just arrived in Mexico City yesterday – nothing more. Just then Erika pulls up in her car behind Fr/Ed, to introduce him to Saleroso (Salty), the new horse.

Nanda asks the secretary if she’s sure he’s in Mexico. She tells the secretary when she talks to him tell him to contact the Elizalde family right away. After she hangs up she explains to Santiago that the secretary said Eddie’s had some business problems and that he’s having a problem getting to the Hacienda. Santiago asks Nanda if she’s sure she wants to see him, and she says yes, if it’s the last thing she does in her life.

Out comes Saleroso, the horse. Fr/Ed is completely impressed by this horse. Of course it’s the classic good guy on the beautiful white horse. They confirm their plans for dinner at the Elizaldes tonight and she’s thrilled that she can tell everyone they’re dating.

Nanda is starting to suspect that Eduardo is playing games with her and that’s why he hasn’t arrived yet.

Erika watches Fr/Ed ride Saleroso. She’s more impressed with Fr/Ed than Fr/Ed is with the horse. After he gets off the horse, she runs over and plants a kiss on Fr/Ed’s mouth. She looks thrilled – he looks stunned.

Tomorrow: Fr/Ed explains to Jacinto about his new future “novia” – Erika. Nanda confesses to Margarita that she used to think Eduardo was the “bestest guy” in the whole world, but now she’s realized he is despicable. Babs is on the phone with Dr. Evil and he tells her he can’t get any info out of Lili even though he’s threatened her with electric shocks – Babs says then go ahead and roast her brain (“rostizar su cerebro”) so we can be done with this problem. I’m completely creeped out by that!
