La Fea Más Bella #247 4/5/07 Fern & Lety Are In A Tizi
In The Vortex, Marcia asks Alicia if Fern has left. Alicia has no idea, and thinks maybe he went to look for Lety. Marcia doubts it because he doesn’t know where she is [Duh! That would explain why he would have gone to look for her!]. Marcia tells Alicia to find another ride, because she wants to be alone. Alicia brags about already having another ride who is there for her at the snap of her fingers. Just then her ride Tomas sprints over to them. Marcia gives her a look that says "Ick!" and leaves. Alicia tells Tomas she wants a big meal as they leave together. The ladies of the cuartel hold a conference call from their desks - which of course are already well within earshot of each other- to gossip about Tomas and Alicia.
At the Italian restaurant, which is more like a dark nightclub with lights flashing all around, Aldo yet again tells Lety that he needs more than ever. He says he needs her to care for his finances. Lety is uneasy and says that first she wants to see how things go at Conceptos tomorrow. Since this is not the answer he wants, Aldo shushes her. Their table is small and right next to a slightly raised stage. An MC comes up and announces Tiziano Ferro [A cute young Italian pop singer who has recorded Spanish versions of his Italian albums and has had notable success in Europe and Latin America…. Thanks to Wikipedia]. Tiziano sings a romantic number and which seems make Aldo think really hard about something (I am reminded of the frequent constipated look on Unibrow on Barreras De Amor). Lety looks confused.
Fern tells Julieta how sorry is for all his misakes. Julieta thinks it may be too late. Fern continues with his case. He says it started out as scheme, but… "You fell in love?" Julieta asks. Fern agrees and says she won him over with her sweetness and with what he thinks are the most sincere kisses he’s ever experienced.
Aldo stares intently at Lety, petting her hand and then rubbing his cheek with it. Tizi’s song is romantic and passionate, but the big dummy looks straight at the camera.
After his song, the M.C. comes back onstage and tells Tizi it’s an honor to have him there. Then they play a weird game in which they blindfold Tizi with a pretty light blue pashmina. Blindfolded, Tizi is led around the edge of the stage by the M.C. Girls rush to the stage and he holds their hand one at a time, looking for the "right girl" to kiss. He rejects one girl after another for way too long until he happens upon Lety’s hand and he says "this is her" He kisses her softly on the lips, then goes to pull the blinfold off. Lety braces herself expecting a look of horror from him, but he does not flinch. Instead he says his heart doesn’t lie and he see with his soul. He tells her she is bella. She thanks him. Aldo thanks him too. Applause and bravos from the audience. Lety admits to Aldo that she enjoyed the kiss.
Julieta asks Fern why he hasn’t told Lety he loves her. Fern explains that he’s told her many many times; he’s even brought the plastic bag o’gifts with him to show her, but ever since she found The Letter that Omar the Imbicile wrote, she doesn believe a word he says. He’s done everything in his power, even breaking up with Marcia, but he has not been able to convince her (Uh, did I miss a part where maybe he actually told Lety that he broke up with Marcia to be with Lety?) . Julieta thinks the damage may be irreparable and it may be better for Fern to leave Lety alone. Fern tells her that without Lety his life is meaningless. He begs Julieta for forgiveness. She forgives him.
He asks for where Lety is. She won’t tell him and he pleads. She again rejects him. Fern says he understands, and asks for one more thing. He asks Julieta to give the bag to Lety. He says he has taken garbage out of it, and everything left inside is pure truth, specially this one - he hands her the napkin . She reads the naplin, "God know how much I love you." Fern says he wrote it when she was in Acapulco [Months ago, when he first wrote on the napkin, Julie pointed out that it must be significant to the story because he put it in his coat pocket. Looks like she was right!]. Touched by his gift for graceful and religious prose, Julieta finally gives in. She tells Fern she will trust him because if he loves she needs to know it. Just for good measure, Fern gives her the puppy dog eyes again.
Aldo rehashes his Acapulco plans again.
At another club, Omar sits at the bar. He looks re-e-e-e-eally mad and mutters to himself. Carolina comes in sits next to him. She tries to talk to him about some project, but he’s not interested. She asks him what’s wrong. He tells her how he Fern came to blows.
Fern comes into the restaurant/club and surprises Lety and Aldo. Lety asks Fern how he found her, but he says that doesn’t matter. He sarcastically thanks Aldo for trying to steal his president. Lety interjects that it was her decision. Aldo suggests that they discuss it tomorrow, but Fern refuses. He tells her that everyone at Conceptos loves her, but most of all him. Aldo looks like a third wheel (which he is). Lety tells Fern to leave her alone. Fern, giving up way to easily, agrees and begs their pardon. Aldo tries to look understanding but it comes across as smug. Fern walks away and sits at the bar next to Tizi.
Fern strikes up a conversation with Tizi, then apologizes for bothering him and swears he’s not drunk. He asks Tizi if he could write a song with the words "Only God knows how much I love you". Fern asks "See that girl over there? " as he points to Lety. Tizi says not only does he know her, but he’s kissed her. Fern is impactado, but quickly recovers. He explains that she doesn’t like that guy she’s with, she loves Fern, and he can’t bear to lose her. He adds that he’s desperate and asks Tizi if he will sing his song called "Te tomare una foto" (I’ll take your picture) for Lety.
Tizi agrees and goes stage. He announces to everyone that he has a song dedicated to Lety from… he realizes he doesn’t know Fern’s name. Fern goes to stage to tell him. Tizi thanks him and pushes him offstage.
Caro asks Omar if he and Fern fought over Lety. He tries to cover up but Caro explains that she I know everything, including Omar’s antics. She says he and Fern are both at fault, and that they continue to act like juvenile. Omar tells her he likes a lot but this is not the time for her to rub it in.
Maybe it was too dark to tell or maybe I’m reading too much into this, but the song Tizi is singing seems to hurt Aldo’s ears. Lety looks at Fern at the bar, then back at Tizi onstage. Fern eyes tear up again. Lety is close enough to see this and she is somewhere between impactada and confundida (confused) by his tears. After the song, Fern glumly walks up to the mike and says "te tomare una foto." He walks to Lety’s table again and she stands up.
Caro asks Omar what are she is going to do. Omar says he doesn’t know. Caro’s friend shows up and the two leave, leaving Omar alone again. He goes back to his muttering about how been with Fern through good and bad.
Fern asks Lety if they speak alone. Alpo stands up and says he thinks Fern has gone too far. Fern calmly asks Alpo "Oh, do you think we should talk? Maybe we can get into another fight." Lety protests and Fern clarifies that he does not intend to fight, he just wants to talk to her. Alpo tells her he’ll be waiting for her and steps away (like 3 feet away to the bar). Fern asks Lety to give him an opportunity. He says he knows she loves him. Lety sternly asks how he would know. He evades the question and says he wants to show her how much he loves her. She says it took her much work to get him out of heart, but she has succeeded. She stubbornly adds that she doesn’t love him anymore.
Fern - showing us his judgment is still as bad as ever - takes out her diary from his jacket. He opens it to a stick drawing of them and tells her how adorable it is. Then he reads from it "…My heart can’t renounce him, he’s a traitor [this makes Fern’s eyes well up again], yet he doesn’t know there is another traitor in standing in front of him." Lety is appalled! He tells her he knows it was wrong to read it, but it was worth it because reading her true feelings gave him reason to leave again. Lety is unsympathetic. She tells him she will never forgive him for reading her diary. She never wants to see him again. Alpo comes back over and leads her away. Fern repeats his new mantra "Only God knows…"
After dinner outside a restaurant, Alicia tells Tomas she could not enjoy her meal because she’s so upset at the prospect of Aldo marrying Lety. She asks if she can drive herself home. Tomas agrees and she jumps into the car. She tells him to lean in so she can reward him with a kiss, but then drives off and leaves Tomas puckered up waiting.
Lety comes home to find the bag o’gifts on her bed. Julieta tells her Fern left it for her. Lety guesses that Julieta was the one that told him where she was. Julieta wants to know Aldo did when Fern showed up. Lety says Aldo was a gentleman and allowed them to talk. Julieta shares that she thinks Fern is sincere. She argues Fern’s case saying he broke up with Marcia, and that, after being with Lety, he has not been with anyone else. She points to the bag and says Fern could not throw the treasures out as Lety wanted. She shows Lety the napkin. She notes that it is a difficult situation and leaves. Lety reads the napkin, and there is a half-smile which melts into the circle of light.
Tomorrow - Lety's rendition of The Clash's revered anthem,"Should I or Should I Go?"

* Esmeralda reminds Diego of his own mission as Zorro, and that he can't risk everything and protect his secret identity. Diego argues - Montero sees them talking and erupts in anger.
* Al responds that he is delighted by the royal honor, and thanks Garcia for bringing it to him. Garcia says it was the greatest pleasure for him to do so. Garcia asks for permission to enter the kitchen for something to eat and drink. Al grants permission (help yourself - the ladies will get whatever for you.) After Garcia leaves, Dena looks at Yumi and asks if she will leave. Yumi says of course, you two will be married soon anyway, and leaves disgruntled.
* MP cries to PT about Don Fer. PT sees her emotional and offers her a cup of water. She takes off her nun cap and contemplates whether Don Fer is telling the truth about his innocence - if so, then she is at fault for all the misery. PT reminds her about all the death at the indian camp, including Regina's. MP wonders if Don Fer didn't do it, then who did? MP also tells PT that she has made a big decision about her devotional career.
* Montero comes after Diego and is pushed into a water trough - the crowd gathers around to watch the spectacle. Montero gets up and goes after Diego again and Diego slugs him and he falls into the nearby fruit stand basket. Montero stands up - Diego stands up and without looking at him, he hits Montero in the head - knocking Montero senseless and Montero falls back down into the fruit basket. Diego looks down at Montero and tells him don't try that again, or the next time will be worse. Diego calls for his men and leaves.

* Montero and Esmeralda have a fight about whether she can go to the wedding - Montero doesn't want her anywhere near Diego - she says she won't talk with him and will stay away from him. Montero is still annoyed and jealous. He orders her not to go to the wedding - she has to go Dena is her aunt. He threatens and mentions "their" baby. She tells him she is so sick of all his threatens so please stop it. He agrees with one final request.

Destilando Amor 04/05/07 "All that is left is a Band of Gold"
****Now I just gotta throw in a PSA here****First we, the audience know Rod is not gay, cause of the Agave Amor, but comeon..TWB what the hell are you thinking? I so want to force her to get the DVD of "Will and Grace..the College Years subtitled: The real reason we never...".
Okay the wedding is on, it will be at the end of the week.
Rod leaves, Nuria Toledo de Duarte; mother of TWB pops in. TWB tells ma the good news, hey I'm getting married in like a couple of days to Rod Montalvo. Her mother is agast, she looks down at TWB stomache area, I can see she has been checking for signs since her over eager daughter turned twelve...No No No, TWB beams at ma, we's in love. Her mother thinks it is bad that they are having a cheesy ranch wedding at the end of the week, after all TWB, Daddy Duarte is stroking out in Mexico DF, what with totally screwing up the business. Oh well, wink, wink, nod, nod the in-laws are loaded.
Meanwhile back at the ranch that little cutie Hilario has just had a figurative and a literal roll in the hay, with (I don't know her name) the oversexed busty girl that comes to visit him. Roman starts calling his name and we have a couple of comical moments as the girl helps him get dressed. Well Roman sees the straw in his son's hair and excuses him of sleeping in the barn...Oh pops, get with it. He chastises his lazy son and hands him his lunch.
Rod is talking to Granny Pilar and Sofie, he tells them he will marry TWB, very shortly, they are just totally gleeful at the thought, she is their kind of people, or rich and vapid. Daniela is on the phone and Rod gives her the news he is marrying TWB, "Que?", questions Daniela, how can that be? Rod is very short with her and hangs up.
Aaron is in Mexico DF, just taking in his good fortune and the fact that he is head honcho, at the company, you can tell he just wants to run his hands over every little thing in the office, absorbing the richness...Here comes Minnnnnnnnerrrrrrrrrva & Aaron is muy impacted, he actually looks at his watch and says, "What are you doing here?". I expect him to scream, it's mine all mine, don't touch anything. Minnie tells him the news Isadora & Rod are getting married. Aaron is now doble impacted.
Now all the family is at the ranch, standing beneath the Tequila tree of grave shade, the Padre is saying a mass for the year anniversary of the death of Amador...Pilar turns her back and looks off into the sky and there, yeah right there is Amador's giant smiling head floating in the clouds, gazing down on his magnificent family.
The family is all crowded around the living room, discussing the nupitals, Fedra has that nasty little smirk on her face. I think everyone in the family is aware of Rod's "problems with the ladies". Well that is the elephant in the room. Someone slyly queries about the luna de miel, Rod says something about a couple of days in Puerto Vallerto (at least I think that is what he said), this receives a guffaw, like shouldn't they be doing a two month tour of the capitals of Europe? Rod gets angry, he is a bit testy throughout this whole episode. I gotta comment about Sofie, is she just not the biggest buzz kill? I realize she grew up with more money than God, but I don't think she had enough to buy the cool kids and now she so thinks TWB is gonna be her bestest evah friend. Hey, Sofie look at that gum on the bottom of your shoe...it has been used too.
Now back to Gavi in London, she comes in to see Felicity and "Surprise", it is a surprise going away party for Gavi, with cake and balloons and everything. Time for Gavi to pack up & finagle a free flight back to Mexico. She and Felicity are standing out on the side walk, Felicity wishes her the best, Gavi is yammering on about how she and Rod are going to marry and she'll send the Nun a picture. You can see an anvil falling, the Nun has one of those, you're so cute, but good luck with that marriage thing, looks on her face. They hail a cab and Gavi is off.
Gavi is making her way thru Heathrow airport, she finally finds the immigration officer and basically says "Hi, I'm Mexican, hook me up". Not so fast little missy, we need to verify your passport & identity before we proceed any farther. Gavi sees the immigration officers leading some Mexicans to cages for detainment. Gavi keeps looking at her watch. I gotta say, once again we are dealing with people who in the real world, would be considered "Special", maybe arriving a couple of days before "Your Tiger Beat Teen Magazine" very Special Prom date on March 21st would have been a prudent idea. Anyway, they put Gavi in a cage, she falls asleep, when they come to awaken her, they tell her that her passport is in order, now I'm surprised I was sure it would be under the name of some international hooker wanted for spreading STD's throughout the civilized world, but nope it is good. Gavi thinks this means she is gonna be leaning back, with a headset on watching "Y Tu Mama Tambien" in flight in no time....but no she can't go until there is an open seat. Wow is that all it takes? Cause book me a one-way to London.
Back to Mexico..it is the big Day of the Wedding. Aaron & Rod are tossing back tequilas, Rod quite a few more than Aaron...Aaron says not to drink too much cause of the Wedding Night, whatever. Rod is pretty looped. Well the wedding begins, and now has AssHat Rod not only asked TWB to marry, but to marry in the church, well not literally in a church, but by a priest. Good luck with that divorce later, oh wait there will be no consumation.
Okay the ceremony happens, TWB is wearing a light gold wedding dress, she is really big on gold, which highlights her spray-on tan. Rod thinks of Gavi and marries TWB...Things are really awkward, finally the priest is like, Dude kiss her. Another really off center kiss, TWB kinda does the ha ha ha, like you do when you are really embarassed, but playing it off.
Meanwhile, Gavi is winging her way across the skies, on her way back to Mexico City...Seriously I really want to see the world with one-way tickets and deportations.
Gavi's mother Clara is standing on a sidewalk, she faints to the ground.
Now the reception is going on, people are politely sitting around the table. I keep forgetting Jan, "Patricio Iturbe" is in all these scenes cause he never says anything. He is Fedra nephew, and was adopted by Bruno..I like this guy.
Anyway Rod is just kinda hyper and bopping around when here comes Mister James and he has brought a Banda Band with him and all the low class hacienda employees, Roman and his family, plus the colorful busty girl and lots of field hands just ready to throw back the tequila. James and Rod want to sing with the band and drink with the poor folks, who are all up dancing.
The rest of the family has this total OMG, expression, what are those people doing here?
Meanwhile Granny Pilar takes, TWB upstairs to the bedroom she has donated for the night of passion, it is the room that Amador died in and there is a picture of him in it. TWB seems at a lost for words, damn Pilar is creepy, Minnie and TWB then discuss the wedding nite. TWB will be pulling out the heavy artillary to make sure her friend, Rod gives her some benefits.
Gavi finally arrives in Mexico City and seeks some transport to Jalisco.
Clara has been diagnosed with Typhoid, ewwwww & must be given antibotics.
Now back at the reception, Pilar is really upset, she can't believe Rod brought all these people to the Wedding. TWB drags Rod back to the rich folk tables for a toast her father makes, I think he quoted Leon Tolstoy, Senor Duarte is rather pretenious. Fedra does an awesome eyeroll, I barely caught cause I was in mid roll myself.
To wrap this whole thing up...Sofie and James have words, he still loves her (oh James you dolt), she is done with him cause he wants to live in Pueblo, he says he wants to be a Master Tequila guy, I think he is well on way, cause he is doing a fine job of drinking it. She says no she wants someone who is distinguished, and she says this with her little wrinkled brow, and her pinched face..She flounces off, this snotty little girl really annoys me.
Daniela expresses her disappointment in her brother cause he did not marry for love, he say Gavi betrayed him...Oh Rod you are so screwed.
Pilar is trapped at a table with some guy who pulls out the family tree (but instead of a tree it is a labeled drawing of an agave plant), he says they are related thru their taterabuelos (great-great grandparent). Why Pilar is thrilled and welcomes him to the family, NOT, she looks like she just smelled something bad, oh yeah the great unwashed masses. This is one snotty family.
Rod is about to throw done another Tequila with some workers, when his blushing bride chides him and tries to get him to go upstairs...He rudely tells her no. Sweet gentle Rod has been rather rude to everyone this episode...I think it is that crazy hawt love for Gavi.
Now flash to TWB, we see her from behind fastening a black bra, then slipping a black negligee over it, I'm thinking she wears a bra under her negligee? Oh okay so she can have stunning cleavage, now she is putting perfume on her cleaveage and thighs. I tell the image on the screen, "Honey you could tape solid gold nuggets to your thighs, but the boy ain't minin that". Now the camera fades to her wedding band lying on the dressing table...
Tune the band up do they know "Band of Gold"?
We kissed after taking vows
But that night on our honeymoon
We stayed in separate rooms
Previews for tommorrow...Gavi is back...Rod finds out...He runs toward her shanty

Duelo de Pasiones, Thursday April 5 - Elias's excellent rescue plan
Carmen told Rosita not to marry Santos because she was afraid of what Maximo would do to them. Rosita promised not to put Santos in danger.
Later Rosita told Santos, "I've been thinking well. I'm not going to marry you." She said it wasn't fair for him to raise a child that wasn't his.
Santos went to see Carmen and said he would never forgive her. Then he begged her to talk to Rosita again, this time on his behalf, and Carmen promised to do so.
Elsewhere: Alvaro told the New Hugo that Soledad would spend the rest of her life locked in a barn.
(What is the deal with this new Hugo, anyway?! I have enought trouble telling apart the servants on this show as it is. I was pleased to have figured out that Hugo was the guy who always wore a bandana. But New Hugo doesn't wear a bandana! How am I supposed to recognize him now? Plus, old Hugo was 20 years younger and 20 feet taller than New Hugo. He reminded me of Bluto. The new Hugo doesn't even look like Popeye! This is a travesty!! OK, back to the recap.)
At La Rinconada: Vera asked Alina not to leave the house after Emilio departed, but Alina said she would go because Emilio didn't want to see her anymore.
She went to visit Angel, who asked if she was curious about what would happen when he and Emilio returned to the hacienda. Alina said no. Angel said her dreams would come true and she would become a Valtierra. Alina was not impressed.
Meanwhile... Emilio put his arm around Thelma on their way to dinner! Aaargh! When is he going to realize that he married a viper/vampire?
Adela visited Elias in his office and told him that Sergio had locked Soledad's escape hatch and was keeping a close guard. Elias said, "Show me where this door is. I swear I'm going to open it!"
Adela brought him to the barn. Being a genius, like everyone else on this show, Elias tried to open the locked hatch by attacking it with a pickaxe. Good idea!
Surprise surprise, he was interrupted by Sergio and his ever-present shotgun. Elias refused to stop his well-planned attempt to rescue Soledad, telling Sergio, "You'll have to kill me!"
Sergio warned, "I am serious!" Elias said, "Me too!" Naturally, Sergio shot him in the chest. Soledad overheard the gunshot and started to pray.
Sergio looked at the motionless Elias, pronounced him dead, and said it was his own fault.
At La Rinconada: Emilio stared into space and had another of his imaginary conversations with Alina. "Forgive me, my love. I want to see you, to talk to you, but I can't!"
Thelma arrived and asked Emilio why he had been so quiet during dinner. He started talking about how important it was to take care of Alina, "my brother's future wife."
Thelma tried to distract him by pushing him onto the bed and kissing him. Annoyed, Emilio said he needed to get some sleep, then left.
Meanwhile, Alina mooned over Emilio, saying to herself, "How alone I feel!" The usual.
An unexpected scene: Alvaro burst into a bedroom, found Hugo and Alfonsina in bed together, and shot them both!
But it turned out to be only a nightmare that New Hugo was having. He woke up and said to himself, "Damn Alvaro, you torment me in dreams, but I swear this is going to end very soon."
Meanwhile, Alfonsina and Alvaro strolled together in the city and later attended a fair, where they kissed in public. Miraculously, Alvaro did not have his usual hallucination that he was kissing Soledad.
He brought her home and made her a drink. Alfonsina said, "I feel so strange. You serving me."
Alvaro said, "Right now I am not the boss and you the employee." He said something about Soledad being part of his past. Alfonsina said, "We are going to talk about the present, about us," and they kissed.
In Sierra Escondida: Rosita told her father that she'd broken up with Santos, saying she would be both father and mother to her child, and she would never marry Maximo.
Angel told Susi that he knew Alina didn't want to marry him.
Back at Alvaro's happy hacienda: Adela saw Sergio with a suspicious Elias-sized bundle on his horse. She asked him about the gunshot and Sergio told her to mind her own business.
As he rode away, Adela looked after him and said doubtfully, "It's not Senor Elias. No."
She talked to Soledad through the barn door. Soledad urged her to find out what had happened to Elias.
Sergio took the body somewhere in the dark countryside and dumped it on the ground, saying, "I wish that he will be eaten by coyotes."
(Elias was not only wrapped in a blanket but also tied with ropes, so it looked as if he wouldn't be able to escape even if he were somehow still alive.)
At La Rinconada: Vera told Emilio she had given Alina some tea to help her sleep. Emilio said to himself, "Alina is sleeping."
He went to her bedroom, sat on the bed, and said, "I love you, Alina. Neither time nor distance will make me forget you." He asked her to forgive him. "Te amo, Alina." He kissed her cheek, then left.
Alina remained asleep through all of this, but after he left she said in her sleep, "Emilio, Emilio. Don't go, Emilio."
She dreamed they were romping in the countryside together, then suddenly she looked around and he was gone.
Emilio went back to his room for yet another imaginary conversation with Alina, this time telling her, "I go, but my heart stays with you."
Thelma had another nightmare caused by the curse of that witch doctor guy. She woke up agitated and said, "I don't want to sleep."
The next day: Watching Emilio and Angel leaving La Rinconada without Thelma, Castulo smirked and said to himself, "She stayed."
In Alina's room: Alina told Rosita how upset she was. "Again we are separated. What am I going to do without him?" Rosita tried to comfort her, saying, "Cry, cry all you want."
Vera burst into the room to give them the bad news that Angel and Emilio had left Thelma the Hyena behind.
In the carriage, Angel announced that he wanted to go back to La Rinconada because he knew Thelma would try to humiliate Alina in their absence. He revealed that Thelma said things to him while he was in the coma "to provoke my death."
Emilio asked why Thelma would want Angel to die. Angel said sulkily that he didn't want to talk about it anymore because he had other worries.
Emilio said Angel should be happy because he was going to marry Alina. Angel replied, "I want Alina, but she wants another, and that other is you."
Emilio said, "If I once felt something for Alina, it's in the past." Angel continued to sulk but apparently gave up the idea of returning to La Rinconada.
Meanwhile, Thelma told Orlando, "I am already savoring my vengeance," saying she would make Alina pay "very dearly," and she would start by telling her that Emilio didn't love her. Orlando pointed out that Emilio did love Alina, but Thelma said he would stop loving her soon.
Adela confronted Sergio and said, "I saw what you had on the horse last night. What did you do with him?" Sergio boasted, "I killed him."
Adela chased him into the house, saying, "You are a murderer! God won't forgive you. I'm going to leave and shout what you have done."
Sergio pointed his gun at her and threatened to kill her too if she talked, ordering her to go into the kitchen and keep her mouth shut.
Later Adela brought food to Soledad and told her, "Sergio killed Senor Elias."
Alvaro gloated to New Hugo about his night with Alfonsina, saying he felt like he was 18 again. New Hugo said grimly, "You don't know how happy that makes me," then tried to show Alvaro the business accounts.
Alvaro told him to relax, saying he should find himself a woman like Alfonsina. Hugo tried again to show him the accounts and Alvaro finally got suspicious, asking if Hugo and Alfonsina had been getting up to something behind his back.
Hugo said nothing had been going on, that he was happy about Alvaro's affair with Alfonsina because he had equal esteem for them both. Alvaro appeared to accept this, but I'm sure he'll soon start thinking Alfonsina is cheating on him with the ghost of Jose Gomez.
Back at La Rinconada, Alina told Vera and Rosita she couldn't escape from Thelma because it was so difficult to leave Sierra Escondida. Vera pointed out that Alvaro was gone and there was no one to stop Alina from leaving. Alina agreed and said she would ask Elias for help.
Meanwhile Elias stuck one bloody hand out of his shroud and started untying the ropes around him, calling weakly, "Someone save me! Help, help me!"
He quickly got free, just as Emilio and Angel's carriage came by. (It seems Sergio dumped him right next to the road. Doesn't anyone on this show have a brain?!)
As the carriage passed, Elias crawled toward the road (a huge blood stain on the front of his shirt), crying, "Please, help me!" but no one saw him and the carriage didn't stop.
(Don't worry, Elias: On this show it only takes a few days and a few herbs from Luba to heal a gunshot wound. Just don't drink any water.)
Words describing Thelma:
hiena = hyena
vibora = viper

Zorro, Wednesday April 4, 2007: The not so secret rendezvous is seen by all and soon fists will be a-flying.
Mariangel sees Diego walk out of the sanctuary and asks him where he’s been. He tells her that he wanted to be alone and walks away from her to emphasize the point. Across the church Esme returns to her seat and MA catches sight of this and knows she was with Diego. You can practically see steam come out of MA’s head, she is royally ticked. Catalina sees all of this and smiles.
Outside in the plaza, preparations are being made for the day’s award ceremony. Montero is “supervising” the activity. So he is finally going to do as the Marquesa commanded and give Don Alejandro de la Vega the award from the Spanish Crown. Diego exits the church and sees Monty. The two men exchange insults. Monty mentions that his wife will be at his side during the award ceremony. This sets Diego off, and he says let’s settle this for once and for all. Diego removes his jacket and starts dancing around with his fists in a boxers stance, except he looks like a little boy playing boxing. Monty warns Diego to be careful, he’s threatening one of the King’s men. Diego says, no I’m not threatening the commander, I’m challenging the man. Let’s meet without swords or pistols. We’ll do this mano a mano. Diego continues to do little jabs with his fists, which are accompanied by silly sound effects. Monty gives no credit to Diego’s challenge. So Diego resorts to the tried and true BOCK-BOCK chicken sound (he’ really doing a fine job of imitating the little boys on the playground). He taunts Monty further by saying, are you afraid? The steam is coming out of Monty’s head, but he doesn’t take the bait. Diego says pick a date and time and we’ll settle this. Still, surprisingly, Monty doesn’t give into the childishness. Then Diego pulls out the big guns. He tells Monty that Esme may be the woman he (Monty) married, but she is the woman who loved him (Diego). That does it, Monty tells Diego to set the date and time. Diego suggests out in the desert, this afternoon. He adds that he’ll be coming alone and expects Monty to do likewise.
Governor Fernando Sanchez is proposing to Hermana Maria Pia. She tells him to stop, she has a pain in her heart—she still thinks of him as a terrible person who killed her brother’s wife. He tells her he’s suffered for years because of a falsehood, he did not kill that woman. Fernando reminds her that his home was broken into years before and the murder weapon was stolen (yeah, like that excuse hasn’t been used from everything from Murder She Wrote to Law & Order---come up with a better, more convincing, ORIGINAL story!!). Maria Pia thinks Fernando is lying (I wonder why?). FS tells her to accept that she made a mistake in blaming him for Regina’s death. A mistake that caused him to lose her. He realizes that perhaps she’s unwilling to accept her mistake because the “lie” has lived so long in her mind and now she cannot let it go. Maria Pia is upset, starts to cry and walks away from Fernando. She runs into Diego who wants to know what’s wrong. She tells him something vague about being in the bottom of a pit with no way out. Diego presses for more info---he wants to know if she’s upset about Fernando or her upcoming consecration as Mother Superior. She tells him not to worry, it’s just something that she has to solve on her own. Diego tells he that he’s there for her if she needs him.
Burns and Smithers are plotting their evil deeds soon to be wrought on the town of Springfield, oops I mean, Monty and Pizarro are rehashing their plans and Monty’s upcoming boxing match with Diego. Pizarro wonders if Diego is trying to trick Monty as a way to get back at him for his false imprisonment. He’s sure that Diego holds a grudge (yeah, like he should have no hard feelings after been nearly beaten and tortured to death). Just as a precaution, Monty tells Pizarro to have his men hiding nearby in the desert. They move on to a new subject, have they sent Alejandro his letter about the award ceremony. The naughty boys have something up their collective sleeves, and Pizarro has decided that SAM, their favorite sargent, ought to be the one to deliver the letter. It involves trying to humiliate the de la Vegas---that's all we, the audience, know so far.
In the garden outside the de la Vega hacienda, Yumali is performing some sort of native dance involving flowers and some sort of weird yoga-thai chi movements. Alejandro watches from the distance and Dolores comes upon the scene. Now Yumi is starting to dance around in a circle, she looks pretty foolish. She comments that Yumi’s little routine is just like something Regina would have done. Al explains that Yumi is offering a tribute to the fertility god and announcing that there will be two weddings (Wow, he got that from her weirdo movements---he's gotta be like the Indian Whisperer). Dolores suspects that Yumi must come from the same tribe as Regina. They speculate how could Yumi have survived, when Al thought that Diego was the only one who survived the tribe’s massacre.
Dena and Esme run into each other outside church. Dena asks after Esme’s general well-being and comments that she saw her met with Diego. The two rehash that a bit and then discuss Monty. Esme says she needs to talk to Padre Tomas. Dena is worried (she’s been hanging out with Al too long) that Esme will get into trouble with Monty. Dena promised that she wouldn’t leave Esme alone (man, this whole situation is a classic case study for an abusive/domineering relationship---he's even got her family in on his sick twisted domination tactics). Esme gets Dena to help cover so she can meet with PT. Esme tells Dena that she’s happy because Diego asked for forgiveness and has restored his faith in her and her love.
Mariangel chats with Cat (who is a hopeless romantic, like someone commented on in a previous day's post, and she also likes to get people’s goat). Cat tells MA that no one missed Diego and Esme meeting off to the side in the sanctuary---it looked pretty intense. MA says that nothing happened because Diego is angry with Esme for being with Monty. Cat suggests with such intense feelings something is bound to happen between the two. MA says no way Jose, she’s going to marry Diego in one week and Esme is already wed to Monty, so nothing will happen (yeah, like two loveless marriages are going to block the path of true love!!).
Diego goes to the bar to toss a couple back. He wonders how he can hate someone so much, more than he’s ever hated anyone in his life before. I suspect it is because some weasley jerk has forced the woman he deeply loves into marriage, that would be a good place to start....we won't even explore the post traumatic stress of being tortured and fasley imprisoned.
Esme meets Padre Tom. He tells her that he saw her meet Diego in the sanctuary (so the secret run-in wasn’t that secret after all….how does Esme think Monty’s not going to hear about this when half the town saw her with Diego). Padre Tom read their body language as being desperate. Esme tells PT that she has something that she should tell Diego, but can’t do it right now. She wants to tell PT but he’s got to keep in hush-hush. So she gets him to hear her confession (otherwise she doesn’t trust the priest?). She tells him that she is preggers con el bebé de Diego. This must be the most shocking confession Padre Tom has heard, because he can’t even cover up his expression.
Olmos is playing the peeping Tom, watching Mariangel get prepped for her mid-day bath (I can’t help but comment, that these scenes obviously are gratuitously throw in for the male viewers). By the smirk on MA’s face, I suspect she knows Olmos is out there ogling her from the hall. Olmos leaves his hiding spot and goes to his room. He starts one of his now familiar rants. He goes on about MA marrying Diego and how she is so enchanting and there is no way that Diego will be able to resist her charms. He intensifies his pity party and mentions that even as his wealth grows and he’s being given special jobs to do, he’ll always be so damned alone. He begins a mad laugh and his eyes are crazy-glazed over.
MA sponges herself some more to provide further enjoyment from the male contingent of the Zorro audience. She yearns for her honeymoon with Diego (Mariangel, hope you got some more drops of that love potion, because without it there is no way you’ll get Diego to touch you). She flashes back to her little exchange w/ Diego in the church. She states how she hates her sister and there’s got to be something she can do to get Esme out of her way because she’s willing to do whatever it takes to make Diego hers.
Esme approaches Diego in the bar. She tells him that she loves him and with what he told her in the church, she’s been able to regain peace. Alas, this was just a daydream on Diego’s part. Bummer.
PT advises Esme to tell Diego the truth. She says not now. PT says to keep a child hidden is an offense to God. Esme says she knows what Diego will do if he finds out and PT tells her that between the two of them they should be able to find a solution to their problems. He goes on to add that children should not have to pay for the mistakes of their parents (sorry to say, still happens even 200 years later). Esme says that Diego will either go after Monty or try to get Esme to flee out of town with him. She can’t let that happen for two reasons 1)Many people depend on Diego and if he goes after Monty his secret identity might be revealed 2) Is something important to her, but she can’t tell the good padre about it right now.
Olmos comes across Diego in the bar, he tries to avoid him (you know, the quick turn and pretend like you didn’t see them even though they are right in front of your face move---well it rarely works and Olmos isn’t exactly one to blend in with a crowd). So Diego calls him over. The men rehash the award that Monty’s going to give to Al. Diego thanks Olmos for helping him when he was courting Esme. He offers a drink for thanks. Diego muses that what a strange twist of fate, that is so cruel, to separate him from Esme and now he’s going to marry MA (ouch, for poor Olmos). Olmos asks Diego what’s up with the whole marriage thing, when you are in love with Esme. Diego says some stuff about the law and honor coming before love. Olmos gets a little poetic about love and our Diego seems to have had a little too much to drink and takes this ode to love a little too seriously.
Maria Pia cries outside the convent. The Cardinal happens upon her and starts to discuss her consecration ceremony. She’s too distracted to talk now and tells him she’ll look things over and get back to him. Se leaves and the Cardinal speculates that perhaps she’s having some doubts about all of this. MP goes and prays to God for guidance. She wonders if she was wrong all of these years, could Fernando truly be innocent? If his turns out to be innocent, then she’s made a huge mistake and thrown away her life (serious red flag here---I don’t think she’s ready to commit to the holy orders if she thinks her life has been a waste---she needs to do some soul searching, for sure).
Fernando wonders why MP cannot believe he is innocent. He then flashes back to massacring Indians, more specifically Regina. He pulls the knife out of his boot and states that he won’t lose MP because of an error. She has no idea what lengths he’ll go to get her; he vows to keep fighting for her. This is another bummer for me, because I so wanted to believe he wasn’t involved and even though I knew it was too good to be true, I really hoped he was telling the truth. Man, he definitely is all shades of gray. I just love this character. He’s so intense and although his love would be creepy possessive in real life, it sure makes for some great television.
Al and Yumi are examining Quixote in the stables. Al starts to fish for info on Yumi’s tribe. She wants to know why he’s asking, they are all dead. Al uses the pretext that he wants to know more about her. Meanwhile, Dena arrives at the hacienda and Dolores tells her that Al’s in the stables. Dena decides to go look for him there, she’s got a surprise for him. Back in the stable, Yumi starts in on Al about how he took her from her path (she refers to herself in third person, AGAIN!!). She was going to kill the enemy of her people, but he stopped her and gave her a new path to follow and now he’s just trying to push her away. Al tells her that she’s important to him, she’s such a warrior and she saved his life (he starts referring to her in third person, too. It must be catching.). He cares about her deeply, just like he cares about Diego and Dena. Not a good thing to say, because at that moment Dena arrives at the stable. Yumi starts to talk about how Al is important to her, he was the first man to ever kiss her---newsflash to Dena. Yumi goes on and says that with that kiss he changed her and then she moves in for another kiss with Al. Dena sees it all---little did she know she was the one in for a surprise.
Padre Tom wants to clear some stuff up, so he asks Esme if her marriage to Monty is a farce. She says they’ve never consummated it. PT asks her what she thinks will happen when Monty finds out she’s preggers. She tells him that he already knows. PT is surprised. Esme goes on to explain that she had to tell him because he was trying to get her to consummate the relationship and she was worried about the baby (OK, I’ve gone to confession and I have to say, she’s telling this priest waaaayyyy too much info ----I even feel uncomfortable for Padre Tom, he’s getting a lot more than he bargained for out of hearing this sacrament). PT tells her she really needs to tell Diego the truth. She says she will, just not right now. She can’t tell PT what she’s waiting for, but once it happens she’ll let Diego know. She leaves and is able to get out past the soldiers in the church.
Pizarro give SAM his orders to deliver the letter to Alejandro. They really don’t say what the letter says, but I gather it has something to do with the awards ceremony. SAM is pleased that his captain selected him to deliver the honor. SAM suggests getting the best horse decorated and to arrive to the hacienda in full glory, an arrival truly befitting the honor he’s to give to Al. Pizarro tells SAM that he was selected because every other soldier was busy and there is no way he’s taking a horse, SAM can deliver the message on his mule. SAM is shocked, and asks several times, on my mule? Is this perhaps part of Monty and Pizarro's plan to humiliate the de la Vegas?
Tobias and the Maestro discuss the upcoming weddings and how they will be a great opportunity to mix with society’s elite. There they can find the man who is masquerading as Zorro. I think it would be quite funny if Tobi, who is so sure he’s to get an invite, does not get one. He and the Maestro will end up being the wedding crashers.
Pizarro wraps Monty’s hands (probably thrilled to have the chance to actually touch Mr. Burns, I mean Monty). They rehash a bit. Monty shares a memory from childhood when he had to leave the plaza because Don Alejandro and his son were coming through (he is such a big baby and has quite the inferiority complex). Monty utters some more about his hatred for the rich spoiled Diego de la Vega. If it wasn’t for that meddling Marquesa and her dogs he’d have gotten away with his plan to kill Al and frame Diego and keep him imprisoned forever. Pizarro wonders if it is wise for Monty to fight Diego on the day they’re going to honor Al. Monty says it was all Diego’s idea (that logic never worked with my parents for me & my siblings, I somehow don’t think it will get Monty out of trouble if things go awry, he should remember, it takes two to tango and there is still the Marquesa to answer to, even though she left town---here's hoping she will return). Thinking of the honor, Monty realizes that Al will have an even mor elevated position in society and with that, any betrayal he commits against the Crown would be punished more harshly. This gives Monty a perverse thrill. He’ll get back at the de la Vegas and then he’ll take their land and property, even their Indians (this I don’t get, who knew he had any interest in them---also disturbing that they get lumped together with property and land).
Diego runs into Esme. They rehash a bit about what happened in the church. Diego suggests that they do something impulsive to protect their love. He wants Esme to run away with him that night. Cue the music/ End credits.

TELENOVELA CONCEPT - "Malditas"

Destilando Amor April 6: Rod is once, twice, three times an idiot.
We open with the previous night's befuddlement. "Gaviota went to Europe to find me? But she promised she'd meet me back here - why'd she go?" Roman: "She went to work a few months for a modeling agency in Paris and then she was going to go to London to find you. She really wanted to see you - she asked for your address - "
"Well, where's her mom?" "She'll be back here for the harvest." Rod flashes and is content: "It's impossible that she wouldn't keep her promise, she'll be back." He goes to church to arrange the wedding with Padre Tadeo, but the padre won't be back till night.
In London, Gav is on the treadmill looking fetching as always -- and mighty shapely for somebody who's been motionless in a coma in bed for six months.
In what appear to be his now-customary haunts, surrounded by mariachis and tequila, James is getting a report on 380 years of tequila-making from Crispin Castaño. Rod sees him, runs up, there's a big hug. James says he's planning to become a master tequilero, and this is his friend Don Crispi, a local historian.
James asks: "How is Sofia?" Rod: "She's in Mexico for Anibal's wedding. She's worried about you." "Tell her I'm doing well." James likes visiting artisanal tequila makers - and, adds Crispi, he likes the ladies at the festivals... "And," boasts James, "see what I've learned - (lifts his glass) - 'Above, Below, Center, and Down the Hatch' - drinks tequila.
Rod asks Crispi if he's seen Clarita and here comes the ANVIL.
"Why yes, 6-7 months ago, a bad situation... she got in a fight with Agripina Cueto ... Agripina accused Clarita of sending Gaviota away to work in a house of ill repute."
Rod: impactado. "No no, Gav's a decent girl, her mom wouldn't allow it..." All leave posthaste to talk with Agripina.
Meanwhile, rather than whoring in Paris, Gaviota is folding towels in a nunnery in London. She likes working and wants to help a little, she tells her favorite nun - and it strengthens her muscles.
And meanwhile yet again, in a Manhattan skyscraper a cranky Señor Duarte is tearing his hair while shouting on the phone: the Asians are flooding the market with cheap textiles, he can't compete, as an emergency measure they should dump their own textiles at cost in South America. "This will bring me to ruin." He yells at his secretary, he doesn't want to see anybody, but his wife barges in complaining: he stood her up at the restaurant and doesn't answer his phone! "I lost my best client!" he yells and stomps out. The phone rings. It's Trophy Whore Barbie! These are her crabby parents!
Mom asks about Rod, TWB reports: he's in love with another woman but she'll conquer him anyway.
[Didn't there used to be a doll, not a Barbie, you could stick your finger in her stomach and her polyester straw-colored hair would get sucked right back up into her empty skull? --Ed.]
Rod & Co. rush to find Agripina and ask: "Do you know Gaviota?" "Yeah, she's the daughter of the jimadora." "Tell what you know."
This biddy repeats the story: months ago Gav was sent to a whorehouse in Europe by the maldito photographer. "Do you have proof?" "Hey, I live above (points above) and see everything that goes on." "Where's this photographer?" Over there, but he split." (Actually, he "peeled himself" = pelarse)
Rod stomps off to break down the photographer's door, shouting: "Gaviota is a decent girl, she's my girl, I'm gonna marry her." Agripina's parting words: "Forget her, those girls who are after easy money never come back."
He stomps in, kicks everything in the dark, deserted room, sees sexy pictures of Gaviota lying on the floor. "I can't believe you did it, Gaviota! You're a wh--." Tears pictures.
For pointless distraction, we have the extremely cute young Hilario grooming a horse while not wearing a shirt. Here comes the girl in the push-up bra, and she asks: "How's it going with the favor I asked for?" "I couldn't ask yet." "I need to get work here, I don't wanna go around selling peanuts and peppers any more." He says she'll have to wait till the rich folk are back in the big house. She comes on strong, he demurs a bit. He says he can't take the time to visit with her in the afternoon but they can get together on the weekend and pick fruit. She makes big fishy lips and wants a kiss, he thinks somebody might see. "Just a little one." Hijinx to lighten the mood. They do it all again later on in the show.
At the cantina with James, Rod is reviewing the situation again, in the rational manner we've come to expect from his ilk. "The only woman I've loved is working in a European bordello. Why'd she make that decision? I'd feared some man would take her and I'd have accepted that, but this? No!"
James takes a dubious approach to consolation: "She lives surrounded by men, what makes you think you were the first?"
"I was, I was! We gave ourselves to each other cleanly." "Then why didn't you take her to London?" "Because I didn't think... I wanted to stay and marry her but she said we could wait a year..."
"Perhaps things aren't as they seem." "I saw the photos, what more proof do I need that she is living as a prostitute? I was an imbecile." [No, NOW you're an imbecile. -- Ed.]
Isadora of the plastic hair is visiting Sofia and Granny in the city, telling them she and Minerva have always been best friends, and that she's come to visit because she misses Rodrigo. Sofia: "I've spent so much of my life abroad that I have no friends." [That might not be the ONLY reason you have no friends. -- Ed.] Isadora: "Well, then, let's US be friends." Smiling, she thought-bubbles: "Sofia, you'll help me conquer Rodrigo."
James is driving a very drunk, singing Rodrigo. "James, leave me alone, you're boring!" "You've drunk enough!" Rod cries, beats chest, snorts, insists on having the car keys, drives away, imbecile again!!! He drives off into the deserted agave fields (a prudent destination, considering his blood alcohol level).
"Here we made love! Here I gave myself to you! You said you loved me! You touched and caressed me! Hypocrite! Liar! Gaviota, MALDITA!"
In the nunnery Gav is crossing off the days happily and folding towels. Her favorite nun arrives with a little TV to watch in the laundry room - she can use the shows to perfect her pronunciation of English.
Next day, James and Roman find Rod asleep under a tree! He wakes up a wild man! He wants to be alone! James tells Roman to go back, "I'll take care of him." Rod wants James to stop meddling and leave. "She is the love of my life. I lost her. I got everything ready for the wedding, what an idiot I am."
James: "I, too, lost my love, though under different circumstances. It's been a year since Sofia broke up with me and I'm still hurting." Bitter laughter from Rod who nastily says: "Don't compare your case to mine! My sister left you because she doesn't want to live in the country and she doesn't like white fleas. Whereas in my case, a woman swore eternal love and then went out and became a whore."
"Rodrigo, this place is making you fall into a vicious circle, it's making you remember... Let's leave here, we can come back stronger." "You're right, I gotta get out of here, I have to forget Gaviota."
[I needed Rod to commit a sin so my heart wouldn't break for him. This is it: like all who are dipped in the Telenovela Pit of Stupidity, he believes rumors and gives up on his "True Love" without looking back. So he deserves Trophy Whore Barby ...]
... who's having a yuppie lunch date with Rod's sis Sofia and asking why Rod is back at the hacienda. "Because the March harvest is so important and granny has always made a big deal about the whole family coming back at this time."
TWB: "We're just friends but I'd love to be your brother's girlfriend." Sis: "That would be good, you have the correct socioeconomic status." "Then you'll give me his number?"
Gav putters around London in the same sweater she wore while competing in the car-jumping olympics way back when. She goes to church, innocent of the reputation-smirching she's suffering in absentia in Mexico. She prays: "Thanks for bringing me back to health, please take care of Mom and Rod, I'm happy because soon I can go home, I should never have left." [You got that right. --Ed.]
Rod tells Roman he's going on a trip with James, they'll be gone a while, he doesn't want to take his phone. (Roman: "He's fleeing, I don't know from whom or why.")
Trophy Whore Barby calls the hacienda -- too late, Rod's gone. She's not worried, cause Sofia told her there's no other woman in his life.
Rod and James vacation for days: at a rodeo, around town, good music, native dance, comida tipica, quaint customs etc. They're drunk a lot. They go rappelling. They swim. Rod is a handsome, sulky Tarzan.
In London Gav is watching a riveting TV report on the price of nickel in world markets. She crosses off another day: it's just a week now till the 21st. She's wondering how to get home when a report comes on the TV: "Undocumented workers are being deported to their native countries." "Oh, wait, that's me!" She talks it over with her favorite nun. "In the States, they dump undocumented folks back over the border." "Well, England is surrounded by water, so they're sent back by plane. The government covers the cost." The nun looks at Gav's tourist passport, 6 months expired, and says she'll qualify for the free trip back to Mexico.
TWB is on the trainer, grouchy because she can't get through to Rod. Sofia tries the cellphone, also no luck. Sofia: "My brother has the heart of a ranchero. James does too, that's why I dumped him."
Finally having returned to the hacienda, Rod hears: Isadora's been calling every day.
James asks Rod: "What if Gaviota comes back for the harvest?" "Don't be silly, she's living her life elsewhere. If I'd never met her I wouldn't be sad all the time." James surmises: "You'll have to get another woman if you want to forget Gaviota."
In NY, mother of TWB complains about her hubby and suggests TWB come to NY to relax. "No, I have other plans. I'm going to go to the hacienda tomorrow to wait for Rod and I'm not coming back till we're engaged!" Meanwhile, Rod has left for the city...
And TWB's bag is packed and the doorbell rings and she answers and there's Rod. "You've been calling me." "I was just leaving to come see you." "Well, I've saved you the trip. Wanna get married?" She's impactada. He continues weirdly: "There are just two conditions..." "Is this a joke?" "No." "What about the other woman?" "There isn't another. Will you marry me or not?" He seizes her and kisses hard.
His two conditions: (1) they must marry, at the hacienda, on March 21; (2) they'll be spouses in name only. "I can't..." "There will be no intimacy?" "Will you marry me or not?" he asks again.
OK, I'm satisfied, he's now such a dunce, I can tolerate his suffering. And Gaviota? Well, like Hippolita and many others before her, she will be punished for her impulsive behavior by months of torture and suffering. And so will we.

Acorralada #57 Tuesday 4/3/07 The Irazabals leave the mansion
Lucky for the Irazabals, Emilio has a three bedroom apartment they can take over now that they're being evicted from the mansion. Emilio and Larry will share a room, Granny DS and Yolanda will share the second, and Marfil & Max will take the third. Granny DS likes her new digs, and looks forward to Diana visiting them. Max advises Nancy to ask Fedora for a job in the mansion, and tells Bruna that there is a servant's bedroom off the kitchen. **A servant's bedroom off the kitchen? That's an old fashioned idea for a modern skyscraper, much like the faux brick in the living room!** Bruna resists, but Max lets her know that things are not the same as they were in the mansion. End of story. Marfil hates the new quarters. Yolanda and Larry are surprising calm during all of this. They probably think this is a field trip or something. Larry apologizes for not being able to help with the luggage because he has to return to the mansion to meet with Gaby.
Once Yolanda is alone with Max, she asks why he doesn't look for Diana. She knows that he loves her. He says that for the rest of her life, Diana will only feel hate for him. What a drama queen!
Fedora recieves a call from Lala at the mansion, who informs her that the Irazabals have all left! Fedora is thrilled with this news, and tells Lala that she still has a job and will be receiving a raise.
We return to the perfume factory where Diana looks like she's ready to go to a garden party in her mauve sleeveless dress and strappy sandals. Emilio shows Diana to her office, which used to be Max's office. Diana is impactada. He asks if she loves Max, but she doesn't want to talk to him about it. Emilio says that Max is like a brother to him and he knows that Max loves her with all his heart. Diana says she's not interested in Max's love. Emilio excuses himself and Diana waxes poetic about Max's desk, his chair, his stuff.
We're transported to Key West where Octavia is thought bubbling that the police won't find her there. (Because Key West is so far from Miami) She's going to change her name and go to Hawaii, where she will have plastic surgery. She will never go to jail. Never.
Jump to the mansion, where the doormat is in the foyer calling Larry's name. Could he be in his room? No, he's probably at the pool because he likes to sunbathe. Perfecto! She goes to the pool and finds Luscious waiting patiently at a table. They exchange hellos and he tells her to come closer. Gaby: Why did you ask to see me? Luscious: So that I can repeat 5,000 times that I love you! Don't worry - my mom is gone. These months without you have been so hard! Gaby's not sure... their relationship has been rocky... but all it take is a smooch from Luscious to convince her. Wait until Fedora hears about this!
At the front door, Pilar is calling out "is anybody home?" We all know where this is headed...
Meanwhile, Pancho's fierita Paola is trying to cook breakfast, and nearly burns down the house. Lala comes in and tries to clear the smoke, and is not happy to hear that her son is still sleeping at 11.
Back at the pool, Gaby admits that she's afraid to believe in Larry, but he promises to prove that he's sincere. He's bought her another wedding dress so that they can get married in a church. Pilar is spying on them from behind a lamp post. He wants to move away with her - far away from all of the hate and revenge. Of course Gaby accepts. Pilar looks like she's going to vomit.
Pancho is just waking and screaming for Guera... he can't sleep because it's so hot. Lala sneaks into the room with a bucket of water and throws it on him to cool him off.
Paco is running along the beach in Key West when he runs past none other than Octavia! She says his name as he passes. He stops and asks who she is... she removes her glasses and he learns that it's Alicia - the love of his life! Cue the violins.
At the factory, Fedora is discussing her revenge with Diana. Now that it's all coming together, she has time for love. With Paco.
***I may have missed something here. I got an error saying that part of the recording was missed due to signal loss***
Jump to casa Soriano, where I'm happy to see Max in a gray sweater that's not the color of an ice cream cone. And it actually fits! Max is pressing Diego about the baby's paternity, which Diego swears is his.
We return to Key West, where Octavia and Paco are kissing like there's no tomorrow.
Back to the office, where Fedora is telling Diana about her plans to marry Paco. She'll tell him when he returns from Key West.
At the Irazabal pool, Larry and Gaby are making plans to marry and move to Venezuela. She's always dreamed of a big wedding with a lot of guests, but he says they must turn their back on everyone. Evil Pilar is still spying. She sneaks off to call Kike to tell him the news. Kike is impactado.
Diana is sitting at Max's desk daydreaming about him. Nothing new here. Just the same old same old.
We return to Key West, where Paco asks O what she's doing there. She's on vacation, she needed a rest. He's there to buy a bar. They're staying at the same hotel, so he suggests that they have dinner together.
Yolanda tells Bruna where to put the luggage, and Bruna responds with a sneer "are you giving me an order? I work only for Marfil!"
Octavia calls Yolanda to see if there's a warrant for her arrest. Yolanda says she thinks they're still investigating the murder. O tells Yolanda that she's run into Paco in Key West and she plans to get him back.
At Lala's house, Paola is drying off Pancho after the bucket incident. He's wearing his ridiculous "checks accepted" tank top again and Lala's laying into him about sleeping all day. He's married and he needs to stop being lazy and get a job. He needs a serious job or she'll throw him out. Paola thinks this is a great idea. He can get a job and they can save some dinero and rent a house. This girl is delusional!
Now crazy Fedora is making plans to buy 3 company cars for her, Gaby, and Diana to drive. She wants the best for both of them. Emilio offers to accompany them whenever they want to go car shopping. Emilio leaves and Gaby informs Fedora that the Irazabals have left the mansion and O has left. Fedora is not concerned. In the end, O will go to prison.
Back to Paola y Pancho, where Pancho is making Paola promise not to do drugs anymore. She only used to escape from her life and her mama, she doesn't need to use anymore now that she has Pancho! Commercial break.
At Emilio's apartment, Emilio is telling Max that he's going to continue working at the factory, and that the Irazabals are like family to him, his home will always be open to them. Is this guy a glutton for punishment or what? Max has to break the news about Paola - she's married to Pancho. Pobre de Emilio!
We return to Isabel's apartment, where Marfil makes sure that her sister is not a danger to her. Isabel will keep her sedated until Marfil decides what to do with her.
Now we're transported to casa Soriano, where Diana is now sweeping the floor while wearing the same garden party outfit she wore to work. Diego is pouting as usual. She suggests that he can get a job there too, but he's reluctant. Diana tells Diego that in a few days they'll be moving to the mansion, which doesn't excite Diego. Diego tells Diana that he's decided to see a specialist.
Back a Emilio's place, Bruna is complaining to Marfil about the accomodations. It's too small for so many people! Marfil shares her fantasy that Diana's husband kills Diana in a fit of jealousy. Bruna tells her that her marriage to Max is sunk. Marfil knows that, but she wants to make sure that Max can never marry Diana.
Paola offers to help Lala iron. She doesn't know how, but she'll learn. She wants to learn to cook, to iron, everything. The phone rings -- it's the hospital calling to say that Pancho has been shot!
Gaby is tucking little Maximilliano in when Larry calls to say that he has good news -- they can get married tomorrow!
Meanwhile, Diego and Diana are discussing his plans to see a specialist when there's an insistent knock at the door. Paola's come to tell them that Pancho's been shot!
Back to Isabel's apartment, where Andres has arrived with a bottle of whiskey. Isabel agrees to join him, but he knows that she prefers rum. **Andres responds "la miel no se hizo la boca del burro" -- the honey did not become the mouth of the donkey. I think the loose translation would be "there's no accounting for taste"** He notices that she's wearing a new dress, and she explains that she's paying for it by keeping a kidnap victim because the pay is good. She's taking a vacation from scruples. Andres asks for ice, but she doesn't have any. She'll go borrow some from a neighbor. This gives Andres the chance to see who's in the bedroom - Deborah!
Diana, Gaby, Lala, and Diego rush to the hospital, but it's too soon to know.
Return to Emilio's, where Emilio and Max are drunk and talking about their lost loves again. Marfil's furious. She wants to know why Max is drunk again. He tells her it's because he was thinking about Diana.
Andres tries to wake Deborah. She wakes and tells him to help her escape.
Back to Max and Marfil, where Marfil wants to get their perfect marriage back, to love each other the way they did before. Max is not interested. Marfil sheds the glycerine tear of pure dolor. Credits roll.
