Tontas no van - Wed - 5-6 The Love Boat meets Gilligan's Island
We go back to dinner where there is idle chit chat about good dinner, good galan, tomorrow we fish, tomorrow Candi has a surprise not for Patrick Dempsey for him...he jokes about her having the pirated version of him here in Region 4.
The next day Pau calls him and wants to know when he is coming home. He laughs in her face, and she says Roci won't stop crying. He tells her to put her on and of course she's not around.
Candy returns to the conference and Santi in the yellow cow shirt is back in the sound booth and explains he wants to watch his girlfriend. Turns out the engineer gets a phone call and leaves Santi alone. He thinks the guy is stupid for leaving one button off so he turns it on, and well it provides sound from the booth to the room. Just then Santi takes a call from Lalo tell him he's in paradise and sings Candi's accolades. The whole room of women hears him from the speaker and turn around to watch. He tells Lalo she makes him feel things above the belt (I think he means really good positive righteous things, and yeah he confesses to feeling things down below the belt too(this you know). Candi is in the background trying to shut him up and getting super embarrased. The engineer comes back and busts Santi that the women heard everything.
He tells her he loves her and then argues with the sound guy who eventually kicks him out.
Next we go to a big promo scence at Vick o, a boutique. The shopkeeper is clearly someone famous who Candi either really opens up to, or knows somehow from before (her yearly trips on her and Pato's wedding anniversary? the wedding or times before?) Anyway she tells all about the new Candy, she's made some resolutions and blah blah blah she's happy and full of love. So shopkeeper asks if she's really ready for a new Candy inside and out and she says yes. The first thing to go is her silly head comb. I'm ready for that too indeed. Thank God, and this woman reminds us we should do the same.
Meno sees another love note getting put under his door so goes out to see what he can see. He watches the woman get into a blue car, and who is driving...Ricardo, and so Meno discovers his secret admirer.
OK, "sexy sexy smile" plays, make upscenes etc, then we have a new sexier Candy with a lot more make up on and fuffy wild hair. What does this mean I wonder...wilder behavior? She looks good though for sure.
She calls Santi on the phone while walking down the dock and he's a little bugged that he's had to wait two hours. She said that's not much, he says well, it's two more hours of dock time. But then he sees her, and her makeoverazo. He's pretty blown away.
Oh and that's one hell of a nice NEW boatazo they go off on.
If anyone remembers Heridas de Amor, this is like deju vu for Jacqui, who also went out on a boat nearly identical to this one with Guy Ecker in Puerto Vallarta or actually maybe that was Cabo, anyway it was big and nice...and Llegaste Tu plays on...
Coro
Llegaste tú y todo cambio
Llegaste tú, la esperanza triunfó
Llegaste tú, volví a nacer
Por tanto tiempo quise
encontrar la solución
a ese gran vacío que llevaba en mi interior
Todo lo intenté por donde quiera te busqué
Eras tú mi necesidad
Alce mi rostro y...
Coro
Llegaste tú y todo cambio
Llegaste tú, la esperanza triunfó
Llegaste tú, volví a nacer
OK, and this next pic has something for everyone...Cuerpazos indeed.....aahhhhh.....
Ah fun boat scenes, then they fish and pull up a pescaja (fish box not a pescado-fish) and Candi wonders que the hell, but Santi says it's a fish ready to eat, well, no, he's fishing and he sure hopes she bites. Turns out it's a ring and he wants her to marry him. I love the light effects off her boob...something tells me I might not be the only one...
And she says yes....and I want to know why he put his shirt back on when she's still out there half nude...
Back in Guad Pato was mulling Pau's suggestion he should take Chava, but that is short lived when Ali shows up with Beto and babe in tow and they all are going to the park.
OK, so we go back to the boat, and Santi is talking to Pau. I'm thinking if I just proposed to the woman of my dreams, the last person I'd take a call from would be my ex-wife, but whatever, I suppose he's worried about Rocio. Pau yells at him to come back which he aint doin'...hell no, he's on a roll here.
Pato, kids, and Ali go to park and have a great time, Pato is surprised at her mothering skills. She still tells him he needs to get divorced or she will go back to the apartment because she doesn't want to be his cha cha. She steals a kiss and he looks drugged....
And cut to commercial...
Mario shows up at the big house where Donato lets him in and we see mafioso following him.
Daniela is sharing her story at the kids group and lamenting that no one will kiss her. One guy says he will, and they learn that's because he already knows he can't get HIV from a kiss. She thanks Charly, in a big way by plating a kiss on him. Right next to Lu. Ow. That smarts. I mean even if she wants to move on, to see your ex boyfriend, your FIRST, kissing the girl he cheated on you with right in front of your face. Nah, I wouldn't want to see that even 25 years later... :)
Charly runs after Lu who says she's going to get condoms for everyone. This whole condom thing is so strange...aren't almost 99% of Mexicans Catholic and frowning (officially) on birth control never mind teen sex before marriage? OK , whatever. I'm sure my brother would love it if I brought my niece a huge old sack of condoms when she's fifteen. :) Annyyywayyyy.....
Lu denies she's jealous to Charly but says he's obviously with his girlfriend...his response is it was just a kiss. Yeah, ok, see my comment above.
We are now at the rocky shore of some hopefully secluded beach where I bet these two can't wait to get off this rock and they chat about how perfect the night is, blah blah, I'll skip to the important part. Well she chats about how Chava is happy if she is happy and we know that portends an anvil but any way....
Back at home Pau spreads the evil, spilling to Roci and Chava that their parents are novios. Neither one of them wants that.
Back to the beach....and they do it. I suppose I'd have "ganas" that night too if a guy hired that boat and set up all this stuff for me -no brainer if it was that guy. Boy am I getting a great episode.
Playing in the background is Jaime Camil himself singing from his latest CD.
Nadie se va a marchar
Interprete: Jaime Camil
Yo no te voy a engañar.
Yo no te voy a engañar.
Pasara, la luna subirá
Y tu estarás conmigo, conmigo
Déjame mostrarte que la vida es buena
Nunca es tarde para soñar
Sabes que hoy me quedo
Y mañana lo hago de nuevo
Yo no me voy a marchar
Nadie se va a marchar.
At the restaurant, Cuautemoc Fornales introduces himself to Lulu and wants to talk to her agent, that she has a great voice and hopefully he'll see her again. Zam offers himself as her agent...but she says nope she doesn't have one and she walks off with Cuau. Tono teases him...
Greg and Meno are talking about Ricardo and she didn't quite get it right away but then it clicks. What is with them always putting on chartreuse face masks....
Ric himself calls at that moment and Meno refuses to answer. Greg takes this opportunity to tell him what he told her...life is short be happy and go for it. She thinks they are twins only his story is more interesting than hers. Meno isn't sure because he's known Ric and his wife forever and it would be sooo weird. Yep, probably. Can't argue with that. He's conflicted for sure. He tells Greg Santi went to PV and he's a good guy.
Ok, we go back to the beach where Santi and Candi are playing the don't blink game and he wins by making her laugh. I couldn't resist this pic of his lovely chest and tatoo...
They continue discussing what drawers and what side of the bed they will have and that they will have to have two TVs one for his America yellow shirts and one for her silly Chivas.
Rocio and Chava are fighting because neither one wants their parent with the other.
Candi chats with Meno on the phone. He wants to know how things went, and she wants to know how he knows Santi is there. When he asks about the night before, she hangs up on him.
Santi talks to Lalo and tells him he's so happy. Lalo is worried about him leaving, but Santi doesn't play that gayme (to quote Hombre) he too hangs up on Lalo.
Pato does some web sleuthing on gangstersrus.com and discovers that Gambino is mafioso. Could he be anything but with that name? Pato is worried about what his Pa is messed up in.
The happy couple is returning from PV and talking about how their respective kids aren't happy about their union.
Pato sends out the hot sec to find his Dad. Ma shows up and wants to know what the prob is. Pato asks if she wonders where all the money came from. Not so much, she says. He tells of the mafia connection potentially and Marg is frankly not surprised, and not too concerned if their money was dirty.
Chava calls Pato and says he loves and misses him to the voicemail.
Candi gets home and is sweet to Chava and gives him a ship from PV saying she thought about him the whole time. The little brat, who's very smart, says, no, you were with your boyfriend, and doesn't want the toy, or the possible stepdad, he wants Pa and Ma together, smashes the ship and runs upstairs.

MEPS - Wed. May 6 - Myth Busters Aren't Just on the History Channel
Fernanda - I have husband who loves me and whom I love and we will get it on as soon as the honeymoon begins.
Damien - I choose wisely the $3 million over the love of a fine woman
Barbara - I can control everything and everyone, they are all idiots
Camilho - I can win Erika back with a simple apology given with a few crocodile tears
Franco - I can zoom around the country saving everyone and turning them all on all at once
Gonzolo - If I flash my silver hair and wear a good suit, no one will notice what a moron I am
Dr. Obregon - I can keep changing sides and still improve my golf stroke
CherylNewMex - The asshats will have their day of reckoning really, really soon, maybe tonight
Fernanda sees more evidence that Damian has taken his clothes, his passport and his papers. Her final vision is of him driving away with a satisfied smile on his lying lips. Over at Erika's, Camilho gets his 5 minutes to engage a disinterested Erika. He is going to give her the news of her life.
And in Villa Madero, old Silvestre's scars are forming quite properly according to Dr. Cuteguy. Silvestre swears that Franco is his guardian angel. Martina interrupts his reveries as she has Nurselike business that she and Franco need to take care of, but not before she gives a giggle and a grin to the young doctor who returns the favor. Even Silvestre gets a contact grin kind of like a contact high.
Franco calls Señora Palafox on his cell phone to tell her something. He advises her she needs to pay attention to what he is going to say.
Camilho asks how her engagement (noviazgo) is going, it's none of his business she snorts. He makes a pathetic plea for clemency, admitting he was a true swine (read ratbastard) (verdedero canalla.) I have lost you and can't repair the damage. With time I can gain/arrive at (lograr) your pardon, no? She shows tears too, but they seem like real ones unlike Camilho's. [not a good sign Errorika!]
in the Lacto offices Fernanda brushes off Flor as she storms into Damian's office ransacking the shelves which are already empty. She looks horrified and puzzled.
Gonzalo asks Flor for Fernanda to be contacted, but she has just arrived, Anibal wrings his hands and wonders what news she brings from the tak with Franco. Papa walks into Damian's office and she tells him, Damian has abandoned me.
Damian arrives in Vladimir's apartment fixes a stiff drink and tells him that all has gone awry, They owe him $3million. but he won't see any of it.
Barbara has promised to deposit it. And what of your marriage? Fernanda married me to get my money. Now those rascal Elizaldes are on the edge of bankruptcy (quiebra).
Fernanda tells Papa Gonzo and Anibal that Damian has abandoned herm he has taken everything and left. Flor enters to tell Anibal that his wife is on the phone. Anibal runs to catch it or to not catch the hell flying around Damian's ransacked office.
Damian tells Vladi that now Pris is another victim of the Elizaldes, She needs him more than ever. Her family's business (Prola? or Prozac with milk?) made half the investment that the Anibal and company are nabbing. Vladi thinks the Elizalde's are filthy rich (podridos de dinero). Damian wants to stay with Vladi for the night but Vladi cannot tell ANYONE he is there. But they will save Vladi's princess and his inheritance (patrimonio) for his son. Vladi wants only to give him love but he is willing to play along with Damian.
Pris on the phone demands the data again. Anibal snears that he has work to do and is solving problems with Fernanda and his father. Pris swears she will find out what he is hiding (está escondido).
Franco and Martina enter Nurse Adolfina's office and say he is aware that she has done them so many favors already and he will be thanking you for ever. Adolfina says he is such a fine person there is no need to thank her. Franco makes Adolfina feel part of his team, you know that they need to clean the atmosphere (ambiente) of this clinic and we need your support (apoyo)
Santiago arrives home Tomasa updates him and he wants to know who is home, only Barbara in the library Santi weighs his options.
At the Hotel Notell , Jairo arrives at Manzanares door with smart alecky Lucio in tow. We want to bring you a little drink. They want to know why he is looking for Franco. Lucio and Jairo let Manzi know that Franco Santoro is suspicious having arrived with lots of money from nowhere. Manzi shows his badge and says he is investigation drug trafficking. They quickly offer to help him and be on his side.
At Dr. Obregon's office, Martina and Franco barge in, Franco sends Martina to check on LIli's condition and He tells Dr. he is taking his responsibilities. He cites Palafox's family who will know that he did not die of an infarct but by his many broken bones which he sustained when he was trying to keep them from giving Lili electric shock. His wife will want to sue the clinic and the director. Dr. Mealymouth insists he was only obeying orders. Adolfina enters and says in good conscience I cannot support more. Please go, Doctor!
Barbara wants to know what Santi is there for. Santi rises to the occasion, he missed her so much he had to come to greet her. While she is on the phone with Gonzo who tells her they will delay Lili's transfer for a while. Barbara turns her back on Santi, he gloats, Gonzo proudly tells Fernanda he gave her her wish, kept his word. Anibal doesn't miss a beat and wants to know what the Franco business came to. Fernanda decides she will call Damian's cell. Anibal thinks they can expect anything of this imbecile.
Franco enters to see the lifeless Lili. Martina is sure she is half dead from being over drugged again. He tells Martina no one must know of his identity that the safety of Lili depends on it. Adolfina enters to say that not only is Dr Obregon refusing to leave, he has called Barbara Greco and asked her to come immediately. [And we had such hopes for him for a time] Franco says at all cost we have to prevent this encounter.
Break
Franco, hears Adolfina say, you can count on me too. Martina and the nurse are in on TeamFranco.
Manzi needs proof of Franco's illegal activities, Lucio says he can find proofs, no sweat. and they thank him for the the collaboration as they click beers Jairo beams with revenge so near.
Barbara arrives at the clinic. to find Franco Santoro at the parking lot. What are you doing here.
Fernanda tells dad, she can't get Damian on the phone.
Ursula Gallardo, Damian's Mama arrives, she asks what happened. My son just called she sobs. He has left the country to never return.
How much time do you plan to stay here? Asks Vladi doubtfully as Damian unpacks. For the least time necessary, he is anxious to get far away from here. He says he is only waiting tonight while they deposit his money, his money. . He couldn't stay one more minute in the hacienda that is why he has asked to stay. He needs shelter (posada).
Franco in great sun glasses answers Barbara, he saw here driving and tried to call on her cell and she didn't answer so he pulled in after her. Adolfina shows up and says why are you here? very innocently. Barbara feigns concern, How is Lili? Oh she's perfect. And where is Dr. Obregon.
Dr. O wants Martina to get away from the door she is blocking. Well soon Dr. O is being strangled by Martina with his own golf club as she berates him and threatens his tongue.
Barbara decides to put off seeing Dr.Obregon tells Adolfina she will call him later and follows Franco to his house it will be most beneficial (provechosa) he promises with Cheshire cat grin.
Ursula turns on the hysteria, she doesn't know when he will return. She wants Fernanda to explain what happened with her baby. She slumps with grief but has just enough strength to grab the cut crystal carafe of brandy and a glass to blubber into. this woman can toss them back.
Said baby is asked by a worried Vladi, what if this money doesn't come as fast as you think. We are both interested in the Elizaldes. As he slams about with his cell phone securely turned off, Vladi warns don't blow up (no te sulfures.) Damian demands, You have to help me unconditionally. I will get my money deposited, I will aid you with Priscilla. and Vladi thinks this will be like touching Glory.
Priscilla calls her bank the Union Banks of Florida and finds out that she has a balance of $1225 dollars left. Oh this traitor swindled me (estafaste.)
Barbi is ushered into Franco's office while being thanked so much for coming. He offers her a drink and goes to get something after she tells him to choose. While he is gone, she wants to know what he has in mind.
Martina keeps the golf club up to Obi's throat until Adolfina comes to the door. Someone has come to see Doctor. Adofina ushers in the Palafoxes. Martina retires ever so demurely for an Amazon Queen. We came to reclaim what belongs to us. says Señora Palafox. [Who knows what she knows]
Break
Señora Palafox says, a friend of her husband warned her to check on her defunct husbands affairs here. What did you do with his patents? Patents? questions Dr. O. breaking into falsetto. Idiot son, takes the helm, this guy is a brute. Bowtied son explains what a patent is, which makes Dr. O sputter, I know perfectly well what a patent is. Well, the papers are not in his room! But you have searched (han registrado) many times. We cannot find them and we are not going to leave here until we resolve this. Sra. Palafox is sure he is keeping the papers hidden so Dr. O can line his own pockets.
Ursula thought Nanda would be traveling with Damian. I don't understand anything. Papa Gonzo who really doesn't understand anything starts to call him but Nanda says , he was irritated because out honeymoon was delayed.
Ursula suddenly suggests, do you thinks he is involved with another woman? All the while she continues to pour brandy from decanter to glass to gullet with amazing speed. Fernanda cannot answer, says she doesn't know but thinks he won't come back. Ursula worries about what will happen to her baby where will he live. Fernanda shows a little gumption and leaves the room saying Damian must appear himself to give her his explanation.
Franco says to Barbara that since they met, he hasn't stopped observing her, She is obviously flattered but is this what is so urgent? He smiles, I want to ask you a question a very important for the two of us.
Break
She doesn't know under what name he registered his patents, and she wants to know. [I'm wondering if this is where Señor Newton will make an appearance] Dr. O. has no idea What were his inventions? Idiot Savant son says one was a celuloid collector for electricity (celulosa almacenar). Dr. Obregon's face brightens, he says more hopefully, so are we talking a lot of dollars here. A lot, a lot , enough says the idiot son. Dr. O picks the receiver up off the floor and calls for Adolfina.
Camila entertains Anibal, with his private joke of breaking Erikas' heart with news that Franco came here looking for a rich girl to marry story Camilho proudly says, he took away the soul of her happiness, laughing hyena style.
Fernanda comes in and demands they review the reports.
Ursula is soaking in her tears mixed with cognac, Gonzo calls Barbara on the edge of desperation, but Barb decides to have more wine with Franco. A stupendous harvest (cosecha) she compliments him. Gonzo calls again. Let's avoid interruptions, she turns off the phone. And he adds that is a very good idea, as he closes the door.
Ursula cries like she is downing brandy, oops she is downing brandy. Gonzo again calls Tomasa asking in panicky voice if Barbara has reached home and wants to be notified immediately.
Adolfina says she has never seen the papers, and no one else only the Doctor was in the room. Adolfina says well Lili was there, Dr. O says she is very mentally ill and she wouldn't know what any of this means. Sra. Palafox wants to see her anyway.
Fernanda finally gets through to Santi to tell him her marriage is over. And worse it looks like Damian took the company's money.
Franco wants to propose a business deal, and he isn't talking about Grupo Lactos . He wants a business exclusively with her. and she says something private, He says are you interested?
Break
Last scenes - Embezzle (desfalco) from the company?. asks Santi. I don't have a basis to think something distinct, offers Fernanda. Santi tells her they will confitm her suspicions and she is not alone.
Franco lets his hand touch the wine and Barb. She wants to know why he has made her this business offer, because she is intelligent , she pries coyly, why not ask Anibal? Because she is intelligent is is only answer. So what kind (clase) of business are you proposing?
Next - Barbi and Franco shake hands sensuously, the Elizaldes all get hysterical, Fernanda sees Damian's name come up on Barbi's cell phone, It's Damian she says accusingly. Barbi must think, drat those big screen cell phones are too easy to read from across the room...

Doña Bárbara - Wed., May 6 - Antonio and Gonzalo exchange places; the story of Sapo hits the press
Don Encarnación gives in to Cecilia's pleading and lets her nurse Lucita.
DB and Marisela unobtrusively conceal the photos of the rapists under their feet while the soldiers scoop up all the money that fell out of Gonzalo's briefcase.
Los Mondragón agree to give Celeste and Leoncia shares in the money they stole from Carmelito. They all leave La Chusmita without seeing that Juan Primito was on the other side of Eustaquia's bed listening.
To Antonio's great pleasure, Gonzalo is put in a nearby cell.
Mujica tells Sapo that Pernalete's house isn't a good place for them to stay because when the girls in the whorehouse start working, there will be men in and out. Sapo tells Pernalete to solve the problem by shutting down the whorehouse for immorality.
DB asks the inspector whether Sapo is dead or captured. At first, the Inspector says that the whole Sapo investigation is classified. He finally agrees to tell them what happened.
Sapo lets Pernalete and Mujica go back to work but Federica, Josefa and el Chocolatito are hostages for their good behavior.
The Inspector tells DB and the rest that two bodies, burned beyond recognition, were found on the plane that exploded while trying to leave the airstrip. The Inspector believes that they were Sapo and his lieutenant. DB isn't convinced that Sapo is really dead.
JP tells Eustaquia what he overheard. Melquíades comes in and is upset that DB isn't around to find out that Sapo is dead. Eustaquia hopes that now DB can have some peace. She tells Melquíades about what JP overheard.
Santos and Captain Delgado go to see the judge to get the charges against Antonio dropped. Marisela notices that DB isn't happy. DB says that she doubts Sapo is really dead.
Gonzalo refuses to talk to the Inspector but the Inspector says that it doesn't matter. With the evidence they have of Gonzalo's various crimes, Gonzalo is in deep doo doo ('está hasta el cuello,' literally, 'he is up to his neck'). When Gonzalo is taken back to his cell, he has nothing to say to Antonio's gloating. Then Antonio is told that the charges against him have been dropped and he is released. He tells Gonzalo that he hopes he rots in jail.
Genoveva makes herself scarce when Cecilia and Antonio are reunited.
Antonio is surprised when Cecilia tells him that it was DB who paid his bail. He is even more surprised when he gets a call from the President of the Republic asking him to be acting Governor until the elections.
Antonio comes to tell Santos, DB and Marisela about his call from the President. Marisela offers to stay and work with him. Santos is bummed. He wanted her to go to Altamira with him.
Tigre, León, Celeste and Leóncia are on their way out of town. Celeste wants her share of the money. León tells her that it is too dangerous to dig it up now. They will go to their aunt's house and he will come back for the money. The group first encounters Pajarote and Cósme and then Melquíades.
DB tells herself that she has to know if Sapo is still alive.
The next day DB meets with Néstor and Andrés and gives them her story of the rapists to publish.
Santos can't understand why Marisela won't go to Altamira with him. Marisela says that she can't leave DB alone. DB is her mother.
Father Pernia says that there is no reason for Antonio and Cecilia not to get married. Then Antonio and the priest meet with DE. The priest reminds DE about when Lucía told her father in his presence not to blame anyone for what happens to her. He tells DE that Lucía asked Cecilia to raise her child as if it were Cecilia's own and says that Lucía accepted that Antonio and Cecilia would be together after she was gone. DE angrily says that Antonio won't get any of Lucía's inheritance. Antonio says that he has always been poor and will continue to be poor. He doesn't want DE's money.
Federica is almost able to grab Facundo's gun when Chocolatito starts crying and wakes Sapo and Facundo up and the opportunity is lost. Facundo asks Sapo how long they have to stay with this rabble. Sapo says they will stay until everyone has forgotten about them, then they will get rid of all the idiots, especially DB, and head for the frontier.
Pernalete and Mujica can't find any way out of their predicament. Then they are shown the newspaper story about Sapo. "Now we're in for it! ('¡Ahora sí se armó!')," says Pernalete.
Now that the identity of the murderers is known, María Nieves shows some signs of life. He says Carmelito's name.
Santos asks Marisela how much longer he has to wait for her and Marisela tells him that she has to take care of some things. They both witness Gonzalo being taken away in handcuffs.
DB reads the newspaper story with satisfaction. She tells herself that if Sapo is still alive he will have to come out of his lair (madriguera) and she'll be waiting.
Meanwhile Sapo is reading the newspaper story. He curses DB.

MEPS - May 5th - Nobody Celebrates Cinco de Mayo in Mexico - Especially Not Nanda!
Also, just to give you an update, I went to the Neurologist and the “lesions” on the MRI of my brain are tiny little capillaries that were inflamed (small vessel ischemia) Yay!!! Thanks for all your kind words Caray Caray family!
Capitulo 56
After the repeats from last night, Lucio is making himself comfy-cozy in Dona Soledad’s house and Jairo, in his psychedelic shiny shirt and Good Humor Man Pants from Cheeseball’s Menswear, is keepin’ Lucio company. Lucio wants to know what happened with Gumshoes whose been looking for Fr/Ed.
At the Looney Bin, Adolfina says, “Ay! Santo Dios de Los Ejercitos!” while wrapping up the remnants of Lili’s brush with broken glass candle. Dr. Dement-O is P-O’d that his evil plan for Lili to die was ruined, especially when Mutt and Jeff show up covered in yellow paint and without Martina. Dr. D pets Lili’s head and says that if Nanda shows up at least she’ll find Lili breathing. Adolfina is disgusted with the Doc. Doc leaves and we find out that Adolfina knows that it’s Barbara G. and the Doc who are behind all of Lili’s suffering.
Martina gets off the bus back in town and runs into her Mud Wrestling Teammate friend who says she better skedaddle before Jairo sees her. Martina tells her she needs to make a call, Teammate says go hide and wait for me and I’ll bring you some money too. She also tells Martina that Jairo beat up her father.
Fr/Ed and Nanda are still talking at Las Animas. Nanda says that when she and Damian return from their honeymoon they’re moving to Mexico City. Fr/Ed says that’s not gonna work, he needs to count on her presence. She doesn’t understand. He says that from the way the Lone Ranger spoke of her, in order to complete his mission of helping Lili, Nanda’s close presence is vital. No more honeymoon! Now she’s pissed and says that’ll be the end of her marriage and she won’t do that for Fr/Ed.
Jairo says he’s not going to sit still and let it go that Franco Santoro through him out of Jacinto’s house like a dog. He’s not sure why Fr/Ed is protecting Don Silvestre.
Nanda says she’s complied with all that Fr/Ed’s requested but she is not cancelling her honeymoon and that’s her final word to Senor Santoro – she walks out on Fr/Ed.
Martina’s really worried about her father and her friend gives her some pesos for a phone call – right in front of Las Copteonas – what happened to hiding?
Jacinto tells Margs that Fr/Ed fired him. Somebody is banging at the door again and it’s Lucio and Jairo! Jairo rubs a gun that’s stuck in his white pants as a threat and wants to know where Jacinto is hiding Don Silvestre.
Martina calls Fr/Ed and tells him what happened at the Looney Bin. Martina says she’s going to her father’s house and won’t tell Fr/Ed where she is – she hangs up on him. Fr/Ed races out of his office.
Jairo is threatening Jacinto again and wants to know where Don Silvestre is when Big Mouth Gardenia comes in and tells Jairo that Don Silvestre is at his workshop. (Does Gardenia ever shut that mouth of hers??? She is SO annoying!) Jairo says he’s going to see if she’s right. Lucio slimes all over Gardenia and Jacinto runs him out of the house. Jacinto lets Gardenia have it for opening her stupid mouth.
The phone rings at the Elizalde House and Nanda picks up – it’s Santi calling from the airport – alone. He tells Nanda that Aurora doesn’t believe that he’s really in love with her and now he’s San Santi. Nevermind how Santi feels, it’s back to the Nanda Channel and Santi wonders if she’s having problems with her new husband.
Speaking of new husband, he’s in Nanda’s room packing his suitcase talking to Babs on the phone. Dam thinks after Nanda’s meeting with Franco she’s probably head right to the office. Babs tells Dam he better get the hell outta Dodge before Nanda comes home. Dam asks if Babs has confirmed that the deposit has been made into his bank and Babs says it’s only a matter of hours. Dam says he’s going to spend the night in a hotel. Babs tells him to shut his phone off, and Dam wants to know what she’s going to tell Nanda when she finds out he’s gone. Babs says she’ll tell her that his mother had a heart attack and that she was taken to Houston.
Margs is mad at Gardenia now. Really, I can’t bear the thought of another defiant screechfest from Gardenia, trying to justify everything she does. Gardenia decides to move out. Jacinto goes to tell Fr/Ed that Don Silvestre is in danger.
Don Silvestre stumbles to answer the door and has a big metal pipe in his hands, ready to strike. But it’s Martina that walks in and not Jairo. He says nothing Jairo did to him hurt him as much as her lying to him and finding out where she really works. She said she never did anything wrong and has nothing to be ashamed of, she was just trying to provide for them.
Nanda tells Tomasa to take care of Santiago if he comes home while she’s gone. Looks like Tomasa has a crush on Santiago and Nanda giggles. Nanda realizes she still has some time to spare, and leaves the house. Upstairs, Damian looks out the window and sees Nanda leaving. He’s bummed because he has to leaving before “making her his”.
Silvestre wants to know why Jairo said Martina stole money from him. First she wants to know what Jairo did to him. Silvestre wants an answer first. Martina cryptically explains the only man she can trust is her father and that some guy who wants her to care for some muchacha, who in return said he’d care for her father, but she was stupid to believe him. Gepetto asks for the man’s name and Martina answers Franco Santoro.
Nanda has gone out to the stable for memories of the yellow flag and the Lone Ranger (little Eddie). She remembers how they promised to love each other their whole lives. She says she’ll always carry the memories in her heart. Jacinto shows up out of nowhere (I thought he was going to tell Fr/Ed that Gepetto was in trouble?), and Nanda wants to know if when Jacinto spoke to Eddie to tell him his mother was sick, did Eddie ask for her?
Silvestre tells Martina she’s wrong, that it was that guy who actually saved his life and took him to Jacinto’s and got him a doctor. Martina realizes that Franco is the bestest guy in the whole wide world! Silvestre asks where Martina met Franco and she says at the Clinica and he’s thrilled to hear that his daughter really is a nurse. She explains that she’s been caring for Liliana Elizalde. Gepetto is happy and hugs Martina.
Nanda presses Jacinto for more info about what Eddie said about her. Jacinto says that for Eddie she was the only woman in the world and when he found out she was marrying Damian, Eddie’s soul died.
Damian is about to drive away from the house when Babs stops his car and seductively asks if he was going to leave without saying goodbye to her.
Nanda tells Jacinto that she thought Eddie had forgotten her. Jacinto asks her what she thinks would have happened if Eddie had returned before she met Damian and she says she’s not sure. She says she waited for him a long time and wrote lots of letters that were never answered. Nanda says that’s life and now she has a husband who loves her very much. She thanks Jacinto and leaves. Jacinto circuits are ready to blow again with all the lying.
Cheezy saxophone music accompanies Dam and Barb as they get it on in the garage against an antique car.
Gepetto wants to go next door and tell the neighbor Apolinar to go to Las Animas and tell Franco he wants to talk to him. Out the door they go and find Lucio and Jairo waiting for them and Jairo’s pointing a gun at Martina.
Babs wants to know if Dam like his “goodbye”. Dam audibly zips up his pants.
Nanda’s truckin’ it on back to the big house and sees Dam’s car and thinks he’s just arrived. She comes running in and asks Tomasa where Dam is. Tomasa knows nothing, and Nanda goes upstairs to look for Dam.
Back at Gepetto’s, Franco Santoro shows up just in time to save the day – he really is the Jinete Justiciero! He grabs the gun from Jairo and empties out the bullets. He also gives Jairo a kick for good measure. Jairo and Lucio take off.
Nanda calls out for Damian and looks all over the place for him. She opens the closet and finds and his clothes are not there – she sees that hers is the only passport on the dresser and nothing of his is in the drawers. She goes to the window just in time to see him driving away and calls his cell, only to find it shut off.
Silvestre thanks Franco again. Supposedly out of earshot of Geopetto, Martina fills Fr/Ed in on what happened at the Looney Bin with Dr. O. Silvestre overhears and butts in. Martina finishes explaining about Lili at the window. They decide to take Silvestre to the hospital to be cared for.
Nanda busts in on Babs in the library. Babs wants to know what happened with Franco Santoro. Nanda asks if she’s seen Damian and Babs tells her she thought he was at the office. Babs picks up the phone and calls Flor, the receptionist and tells her to get Damian on the phone. Babs smiles at Nanda, but turns the conversation back to what happened with Franco Santoro. Nanda says nothing bad happened and frustrated, tries to leave, but Babs wants to pretend like she cares and asks what’s happened. Nanda brushes her off. She goes outside to her truck and leaves.
Erika is trying to call Franco but nobody is answering at Las Animas. Her mother tells her that when a man doesn’t give a woman his cell phone it’s because he’s hiding something. Blind Erika says, no, that’s just . . . Franco, he’s really busy. Just then their made comes out to tell Erika that she has a visitor and she’s sure it’s Franco, but then is soon disappointed to find out its gross Cadmil-ho. He wants to talk and she doesn’t. He says he’s come to give her the news of her life.
Looks like tomorrow Nanda’s starts getting wise about Damian.

Doña Bárbara - Tues., May 5 - Things start coming unstuck for Gonzalo and Sapo
DB notices that León's 'enthusiasm' has fallen and asks why. He says that it's because of the gun she is pointing at him. DB replies that lies make her enthusiasm go away. She presses León to tell her where he hid the money so she can take her share but León won't talk.
DB has Genaro Mondragón brought to her and tells him that she wants to talk about his cousin, the traitor.
Cecilia is trying to get the prison guard to bring Antonio some food that she brought and a note. He refuses and up pops our old friend the boat captain, otherwise known as Captain Delgado. He asks the guard what the Secretary of the Governor is doing in jail.
Captain Delgado overrules Gonzalo's order and Antonio and Cecilia fill him in on what has been going on with Gonzalo and express their concern about Marisela and Santos' safety.
Marisela and Santos are at Cecilia's house when she comes back with Captain Delgado who promises to take care of everything.
Now that DB knows their secret, León and Tigre are going to dig up the money and get out of town. They are confronted by their cousins who say that a little birdie told them that León and Tigre have stolen money they haven't offered to share. León says that is just a rumor. If he had money, he'd share it. He leaves and the cousins ask Tigre what he has to say.
Gonzalo returns to Government House and finds the guards tied up. He sends them to find Marisela.
The nurse tells Don Encarnación that Lucita won't take milk from anyone else and hasn't eaten. She says that time is running out. The baby needs to eat. She wants to call Cecilia.
Marisela is getting treated for what Gonzalo did to her. She is concerned about the threats Gonzalo made against her, Genoveva and Cecilia. Santos comes in and says that Gonzalo won't harm anyone. He will take care of them.
Gonzalo is ripping up papers in his office [I guess they don't have a shredder.] He calls Sapo and tell him that the jig is up. Santos has escaped with Marisela and the police must know everything. DB comes in and asks him to say hi to Sapo. Gonzalo tells Sapo that DB is there and Sapo tells him to kill the bitch. "Woof, woof," says DB says, "you can't kill this bitch that easily." She has Gonzalo at gunpoint. DB demands that Gonzalo tell her where Marisela is.
Sapo tells Facundo that they have been found out and have to flee.
Santos chides Marisela for letting DB persuade her to take such risks to protect him. Marisela says that she did it on her own. She had to get the ... She stops and doesn't tell Santos about the photos. He knows she is lying. I'm not sure why she didn't tell him unless it is because it concerns DB's plan for Sapo. Santos says that Marisela went too far in paying Antonio's bail. Marisela tells him that she didn't pay it and they both realize that it must have been DB.
Meanwhile Gonzalo has pressed the intercom button while DB is threatening to fill him full of lead. The guards hear.
Marisela takes some sedatives and goes to sleep. Santos keeps saying that he wants to kill Gonzalo and Cecilia keeps telling him not to do anything crazy. Captain Delgado comes in and and says that he has arranged to protect the women while he and Santos go to make a formal accusation against Gonzalo before the judge.
DB tells Gonzalo that she knows Marisela was looking for the photos of the rapists. The guards burst in and hold DB at gunpoint. Gonzalo orders the guards to take DB to the airport. He will take her to the capital. When they have taken her out, Gonzalo sets his wastebasket on fire, collects his money and the photos and leaves his office.
The judge doesn't know what to do about Santos' accusations against the Governor. Santos tells him he only needs the judge to accept them and he will do the rest.
Marisela wakes up. When Cecilia tells her that Santos has gone out, Marisela is sure that he will go and confront Gonzalo.
The Inspector has brought in a large police operation that attacks and destroys the plane that was trying to take off on the secret runway.
However, Sapo wasn't on the plane. He tells Facundo that all that has happened is DB's fault and he has to destroy her. They are going to hide out where they will be close to DB - in Progresso.
Gonzalo is about to leave his room when he gets a call from the judge about Santos' charges against him. The judge asks him what to do. Gonzalo tells him to do whatever he wants and hangs up.
The guards are dragging DB to the van. Although they have doubts about what is going on, they follow orders anyway.
Cecilia leaves Marisela and Geno to go to the hospital to try and feed the baby or at least give her a bottle of her breast milk. As soon as she has gone, Marisela jumps up and tells Genoveva that she can't let Santos be in danger without doing something. She and Geno leave.
Santos tells Captain Delgado that he has to confront Gonzalo. They arrive at Government House and are told that Gonzalo is about to leave. Santos forces his way past the guard. Meanwhile the guards are trying to get DB into the van. Gonzalo handcuffs her as Santos and Captain Delgado show up. Gonzalo takes DB hostage.
Gonzalo tries to shoot Santos and DB deflects his aim. Santos attacks Gonzalo and in the melee that follows, Captain Delgado is wounded slightly and Gonzalo escapes on foot with his briefcases full of money.
Mujica is hot to trot to get it on with Federica but she says that it is Good Friday ('viernes de cuaresma,' literally, 'the Friday of Lent') and even in her profession they abstain on holy days. "No meat, only fish," Federica tells Mujica pointedly.
There's a knock at the door and Sapo and Facundo burst in and hold Mujica at gunpoint. They tell Mujica and the women that they are going to stay for a few days.
While Eustaquia is asleep, Tigre and León tell Leoncia and Celeste to pack up so they can leave. Leoncia doesn't understand why they should sneak out like thieves but Celeste says that she knows why - it was Leon who murdered Carmelito and stole the money.
Cecilia brings the bottle of her milk to the nurse. She sees DE and chews him out for putting Lucita's life in danger because of his grief at losing his daughter.
Santos chases Gonzalo and knocks him down with everyone else in pursuit. Santos hold Gonzalo at gunpoint. Marisela tells him not to shoot. DB tells him to kill Gonzalo.

Tontas Tuesday May 5, '09 It's A Kiss-o-rama On Tontas Tonight
We have a brief rehash of Santiago's impassioned self-defense. He reminds Candy that he was abandoned by the wife who had his devoted love. And "abandonados" don't wound other people (Marissa might disagree) because "abandonados" know how much that kind of wounding hurts.
They are chatting (sparring) after the show, and Hortensia, despite Santi's frantic motions to get lost, intrudes and does her good deed of the day. She "confesses" to leaving the handkerchief herself, out of jealousy. But the doctor loves you, she adds, looking at Candy, and he would never do anything to hurt you.
We switch to Pato nuzzling with Patito, tenderly giving him a bottle, every three hours as instructed. I could have watched that scene endlessly...but alas, it was brief.
Back to our lovers. Candy's now snuggling on Santi's chest and they're murmuring lover type things to each other. I couldn't handle another abandonment. You understand me....you went through disillusionment too. I want to wake up every morning and find you there. Share everything with you. " Te amo tanto" etc. More snuggling. (Lordy, I wish I weren't so cynical. I keep wondering how LONG will that last!?)
Back to Pato and Patito. He's also murmuring sweet nothings to the little guy....reminding him that if he really puts himself into life, life will give back many gifts. And although Pato has an empty heart and misses the love of his life, you, little guy, are filling up some of those empty places. Indeed. (although children can break your heart later too. Hmm...do I need an antidepressant?)
Okay. Lovers in the park. Kisses in the rain. Running to the kiosk. Kissing in the kiosk. More sweet nothings. Not only do I love you, I admire you. After your heartbrea, Candy, you went on, you studied, you raised your son by yourself, you worked. Since I met you, you've been counseling women. I know we both put our children first in our lives, sacrifice for them. But.....Candy responds to this flow of sould by saying..... You make me feel very treasured and loved. I love you with all my heart. And we break for an ad.
Psychologists say we fall in love with people because of the way they make us feel about ourselves. Obviously Santiago's doing a great job of making Candy feel great!
When we come back, we see the sun rising over Guadalajara so we know it's a new day. And Paulina's still at it...reappearing in Patricio's office to try and collude with him to break up the romance. Look, says Patricio, I'm not getting divorced. Other than that what do you want...that I kill my wife and bury her in the backyard!? Nope, but she does want him to claim custody of Chava (patria potestad) and if he does that, Candy will have to fall back into his arms. He refuses that kind of underhanded approach, and she flounces out enraged.
Meanwhile, Santi's back at the office, in tight white t-shirt, confronting Hortensia about her false confession. He knows she's too straightforward to do something sneaky like that. They finally conclude it had to be Paulina. No kisses here but you can see that Hortensia is dying for one.
No kisses twixt Ricardo and Meño either, but there's definitely some body contact during the bicycle lesson. He whisks Meño off from the restaurant leaving Zamora in charge. (Zamora quickly cons Toño in taking on the job so he can go rehearse with Jamie). Meño wiggles and wobbles on the bicycle, wipes out at one point, and when Ricardo is hand-brushing his jump suit after the accident, Meño starts getting the message. One swipe too many evidently. Where will this lead?
Santiago comes waltzing into the Institute looking for Candy and learns from Soledad (whom he gaily calls "Chole") that Miss Candy is off to Puerta Vallarta to a conference on Self-Esteem for Abused Women) Right on his heels arrives Raúl who quickly kisses Soledad. Oooh, you're "novios" crows Santiago. He's so delighted that he kisses Chole as well, and then apologizes and leaves the floor to Raúl. There's some cute awkward fumbling...er "asi de rápido?" (so soon?) queries Soledad. Well, er...do you want to go out...but if you don't want to...er, uh. S- I'd love to. R- You would?....you'd like to be "novios"? "Con todo"? (with all that implies?) S- Yes, I'd love it. More tender kisses. Santiago pops back in, pronounces it a "bonito beso" and is off again. Alright, looks like it's a lock for Raúl and Soledad. Cece's strange subterfuge the other day hasn't derailed the romance.
When we next see Soleadad, she's at Pato's office to pick up her support check for Beto, but her glow is unmistakable and Patricio is delighted to see her so happy. She also drops the important info that Candy's off to Puerta Vallarta for a conference. After she leaves, Pato's hot young secretary makes her way in. We presume he's still so smitten with Candy he's hasn't noticed this babe but I'm sure our male viewers have.
Candy's about to leave for her trip, but is struggling with separation anxiety. She's sure Chava will be super-unhappy without her, even though Meño and Gregoria protest that he'll be fine. Okay, she'll miss HIM then. Chava's busy playing with his action figures during all this palaver but finally gives mom the requisite big hug and kiss and the reassurance that he loves her.
Ah, the love of a son. And what have we here...a mirror scene, even thought the protagonists don't know it. Jaime is pounding the out-of-tune plinkety plink piano for all it's worth, and Zamora is singing with gusto. When the assembled request another song, our waiter launches into one about Cristopher Columbo which he learned as a little boy. What a coincidence. Jaime sang this song to HIS son when he was little. Which son was that? queries the friend. "Oh, one of many," answers Jaime. So the mystery remains...but should be cleared up soon.
Now some pseudo-menace scenes. We see a mysterious man tailing Candy in the airport. Is anybody worried? I don't think so. But we might be wondering if it's Patricio or Santiago, since they both know she's going.
We switch to a brief, and for me, annoying scene with Meño, Charlie and the long-suffering Daniella. Her dad's kicked her out of the house. Meño refuses to take her seriously. Assures her that if she asks, they'll let her come back home. Dismisses her assertion that her dad never loved her, only her brother,by saying that All fathers love their children. (if only that were true!) And then struggles to his feet (bicycle injuries). Not a good listener, our Meño, but then, no one in telenovelas ever seems to be.
Okay. Prepare yourselves. I thought this scene was really icky. "Fede" is putting the moves on Lucia at her house and she's resisting. Finally he agrees to settle for a little kiss. Paulina comes by and spies them. Runs for her camera phone, takes a picture, and then reappears, all innocent reassuring them that she's really discreet and they can trust her. Freddy thinks Paulina is cool and lures Lucia out to his car to hear his latest CD. That doesn't bode well. Another ad.
When we come back, Candy is doing her Sparkle Plenty routine in front of a roomful of enraptured women. Thankfully we don't get to actually hear her talk. Afterwards, she's strolling with the conference organizer who wants her to present a second talk the next day, even though Candy's only prepared one. Ah, but this one will be about Candy Morales, Her Life! Candy protests that she's made many mistakes....yes, interrupts the organizer...but you raised your son, you studied, you worked, you never had "la vocacción de alfombra" (you were never a doormat). At this point, one of the conference participants comes up and tells Candy she needs her help. And we switch to a completely different scene.
Patricio's confronting his father, wanting to know who were the menacing men who arrived in his office the other day looking for Arturo. Dad's answer? I'm your father and I love you. Better for you and for me if you don't know who those men were. Punto.
Back to Candy's counseling. She's reassuring the woman that she was right to leave....after all, her husband was beating her more and more frequently. Yes, answers the stricken woman, but I abandoned my children and they are the only thing that matter to me. Life will change. This is the beginning of many good things. There are organizations that help women like you. "Ten much fé" adds Candy looking noble and concerned. And hey, just like that. Problem solved.
Now we see Mario, strolling along, talking on his cell, not noticing the bodyguard he paid off, following his footsteps and reporting in. Lots of drama in store, no doubt.
The conference organizer is filling in Candy on her own story. She too was an abused woman. Married young (17) to a pediatrician who was charming and tender with his patients and an absolute nightmare at home. Jealous and possessive, he either kept her at home or...when they went out, became enraged when he thought other men were looking at her. She finally realized she was sick and co-dependent and left. Went to work cleaning houses and offices and now here she is...with a life and a mission. Candy listens and then excuses herself to change and go for a walk on the beach.
Back in Guadalajara, Arturo is meeting with Gambino and we learn that the latter is the son of the mobster Mario operated on...and killed. (another son looking for his longlost dad!) I'll compress some scenes. Arturo's being braced to build some more money-laundering projects for the crime boss even though Arturo thinks he has earned a happy retirement. Not so. His money, his house, his everything, his life...belongs to the mob. After Gambino leaves, Arturo angrily crumples the bills he left on the table into the glass of liquor.
Candy, meanwhile, is walking along the beach in a pair of very short shorts (great legs has our Jacqueline, about 10 miles long I reckon) and a big floppy beach hat. A menacing guy in a wet suit and snorkel emerges from the sea. She's startled, apprehensive and...delighted to find that it's Santiago. He's come all this way to invite her to dinner. What's not to like? Well, more ads for one thing.
Well, alright, she'll go to dinner with him but she has to change first. Whaddya mean, you were born beautiful!...you don't have to change anything, protests Santi. There are some kisses, somewhat tepid, but we assume they'll get better later on.
Next we see Candy, in purple dress and headband, gliding into the hotel foyer and being directed by smiling waiters with big arrows to a staircase leading to a ballroom....and all for her and Santiago who sweeps her into his arms and begins a tango-like dance. As I noted, Jacqueline has great legs but no dance moves. It's rather painful to watch, actually, although Camil does his best to move his stiff partner around the floor. They they slow dance to a great song..."Pideme" performed by David Cavazos. And do a better job on the kisses. Much better.
After they dance, Santi claps his hands and waiters appear and these guys CAN dance. Their swift setting up of the table is beautifully choreographed and they move well. He claps his hands again and a covered platter appears with roses on the plate. Don't eat those, he cautions Candy and with that our romantic scene, and the episode, come to an end.
Previews: Donato tells Paulina that Santi and Candy are in Puerto Vallarta.
Candy is a new woman inside and out. She's looking hot with free-flowing hair (have we reached criterion behavior?) and Santi is asking her to marry him. And....she's saying YES!
Vocabulary:
el mandamás = bigwig, big boss (what Zamora offes to Toño so he can take off and rehearse with Jaime)
tercer edad = lit. third age, but a tactful way of saying "old". Not tactful enough for Meño who claims to only be in the "second age".
le cruzan los cables = Daniela talking about her dad, saying he's gone nuts (got his his cables crossed)
beso tronadisimo = big smacker of a kiss, what Candy sends Chava via telephone
ten much fé = Have much faith, Candy's pep talk to the abused woman
un par pillos = a pair of sharpies, clever ones Santiago describing Raúl and Soledad and their no longer secret romance
Dicho of the Day:
Arbol que crece torcido, nunca su rama endereza (lit. you can't straighten out a tree that has grown twisted) Once a crook always a crook, once a bum always a bum....Could refer to Gambino, Mario, lots of folks. Often when said, they just give the first part...."Arbol que crece torcido...."

Doña Barbara, Mon. May 4 - Gonzalo beats up Marisela; DB hits on León
Marisela tells Gonzalo that that he is the thief and the photos don't belong to him. He overpowers hers and says that everything she said about marrying him was a lie. Marisela says that it is true. She could never love a jerk like him. She says that Gonzalo disgusts her. Gonzalo takes the pictures back and slaps Marisela. Marisela tells Gonzalo to go ahead and hit her. She isn't afraid of him. Hitting women is all he knows how to do but when a man like Santos shows up, he runs away like a little girl. Gonzalo hits her again and tells her not to mention Santos. Marisela tells Gonzalo that Santos is a man, not a coward like him and that is why she has never stopped loving Santos. Gonzalo hits her again.
DB tells Santos that all she wants from him is the love they had before. "Or it wasn't love?" she asks him. Santos says that he doesn't know. What he felt for her was a violent passion that he couldn't resist but there was nothing else. DB accuses him of never having stopped thinking about Marisela and Santos admits that might have been part of it. He tells her that there are other men in the world; she could start over somewhere else. DB says that besides El Miedo and him, she has nothing. Santos reminds her that she has a daughter that needs her. A daughter she is sacrificing for a man who doesn't love her.
Cecilia tells Don Encarnación to stop slandering her and Antonio. She says that Lucía died because she was brave. She knew she would die young and wanted to leave a daughter for DE to remember her by. She tells him that the baby needs her milk and that Lucía herself asked Cecilia to take care of her. Cecilia tells DE that the only person he is hurting is the baby and that he will regret what he is doing. DE doesn't care. He orders Cecilia to be thrown out of the hospital.
Marisela tells Gonzalo that she knows everything about his dealings with Sapo. He says that she just signed her death warrant. She says that Santos and DB know, too. Gonzalo hits her again.
DB tells Santos that he must love her since he has stood up for her so many times. Santos replies that she is an unforgettable woman and he'll always be there if she needs him. DB denies that she needs Santos to rescue her. She says that Marisela knows that DB and Santos are in danger and she is doing this for both of them. She says that she is proud of her daughter and in spite of what Santos thinks, she loves Marisela. But when she thinks about Santos and Marisela together, she can't help but wanting to kill Marisela because she is a woman before she is a mother. Once again Santos asks DB to forgive him and says that he has no right to reproach her. He tells her that he is going to Marisela. She needs him. DB says that she needs him, too but Santos says that is a lie. She has always done things on her own. She is unique. She says that he is giving her a compliment as a consolation prize. He says that he is just saying what he thinks. When he is gone, DB says to herself that she has always done things alone but it never weighed as heavily on her then as it does now.
Gonzalo tells Marisela that she can't leave the room alive. Marisela says that if she dies, everyone will know it was him. He hits her again and leaves telling the guards who appeared to be listening outside that they must not let Marisela out no matter what she says.
Cecilia is worried about Marisela and Genoveva says that she will go and talk to her.
While Santos is preparing to go to San Fernando, he tells Pajarote to check up on Los Mondragón. They are #1 on his list of suspects for Carmelito's killing.
DB tells Melquíades that Carmelito's death made Santos crazy with rage in a way she had never seen before. She wants to find out if León was the killer and turn him in before that anger is directed at her. She says that she has tricks for making León confess.
Gervasia is inconsolable and Melesio conforts her by saying time is her friend. The pain will get less.
León makes another try at killing María Nieves but Altagracia drives him away with her gun.
Geno comes to the Government House looking for Marisela and Gonzalo has the guards throw her out forcibly. She reports on what happened to Cecilia. Cecilia is crazy with worry and says that she will send a telegram to Santos in the morning. At dawn, Cecilia is about to leave to send the telegram when Santos appears.
Gervasia and Pajarote are in Progresso to see MN when they run into León in the street. Gervasia attacks him screaming that he killed her husband.
Gonzalo is pacing and telling himself that he has to kill Marisela but he can't. He gets a call from Sapo and tells him that they have to talk.
Gervasia calls León a murderer in front of everyone in the street. He slinks off.
A maid brings Marisela breakfast and finds her unconscious on the floor. Marisela asks for help.
Santos tries to get into the Government House but he is turned away. He sees the maid signal to him. The maid finds Santos and tells him that Marisela is locked up and that the Governor beat her up.
Altagracia tells Gervasia and Pajarote about Tigre's appearance at the doctor's office and the mysterious man she shot at the night before. Pajarote says that he will stay with Altagracia that night.
Santos gets Antonio's gun from Cecilia.
Marisela demands to be let out of the room. She tells that guards that what they are doing is a crime. They agree but they are afraid of the Governor.
DB flirts with León and asks her to come to her room. He falls for it and tells Tigre to get ready to call him boss.
The Land title inspector gets photos of Gonzalo coming to see Sapo. He says that Santos was right and this job will be easier than he thought. [The Land Title Inspector who doesn't know the area has found a place where he can see and take pictures of Sapo's runway from a car!]
Marisela begs to be let out of the room. The guards are uncomfortable but they say that they can't help her.
Gonzalo tells Sapo about what Marisela told him and says that he has to kill DB, Santos and Marisela. Sapo says that he will take care of DB and Santos but Gonzalo has to kill Marisela himself. Gonzalo says that he can't kill her, he will be blamed. Sapo says that it is time he got his hands dirty like the rest of them. He asks if Gonzalo is too squeamish to kill Marisela.
DB makes Leon take off his clothes. He says that DB should do the same but she wants to talk first. She gets her gun out and asks what he did with the money he stole from Carmelito.
Santos sneaks into the Government House, knocks out and ties up the guards. He burst into the room where Marisela is. She embraces him saying, "Santos, you came for me!"
