El Dragón #3, 10/2/19: Hector Puts His Life in Danger as Miguel Watches

We open with Miguel sadly finding Aysa dead in the bathtub. Sometime later, he is in his condo, reminiscing about her. He remembers her as they once walked down a street together, showing him a card and she telling him he is the salt and she is the sea, neither one exists without the other.

The Garza siblings are at home bickering about Miguel. Chisca has a very bad attitude and Dora tells Chisca to at least have some compassion for her older brother Miguel.

In Japan, Miguel meets with his boss, Ishiro Tanaka, head of Tadamichi Securities. They sit down and Ishiro tells Miguel that he is like a Samurai without love.  Miguel tells him he is going back to Mexico. Ishiro asks if he knows what he is going to do with his home there. Miguel answers that he has no idea, that he just plans to leave it as though Aysa still lived there.

El Dragón #2, 10/1/19: You Wanted It; Now You've Got It!

Epegmenio and his loyal lapdog have tracked Miguel down at the Garza parents' graveside.  Pig tries making conversation; he tells a very observant but silent Mig that he's oh so loyal to and respectful of his abuelo, Lamberto Garza.  When Mig doesn't respond in kind with a similar effervescing of hot air, Pig wonders why.  Mig tells him the culture he's been brought up in values observation and few words.  Pig then invites him to his ranch for a celebration of Miguel's return to Mexico from China--oh Japan?  Uh, the East somewhere.  Miguel says he'll check with his grandpop to see that he approves.

Later that morning, during one of Lamb's lucid moments during their walk together, Miguel informs him of his chat with Pig.  Lamb warns him it is probably a trap.  "--All the more reason I should go."  He needs to study his enemy.

La Usurpadora - Capitulo 11 - The Parent Trap!

During the blackout at the psychiatric clinic, Facundo gets to Paulina’s room to rescue her. He tells her he knows her true identity and will help. She begs him to not disclose anything, as her mother’s life is in danger. Master villain Terry also finally got to Paulina’s room with her gun, but she is spooked by Facundo and runs out, with him in pursuit. She manages to blend in with the nurses, and pretends to be engrossed in a conversation with a couple of them (who, curiously, pay no heed to the fact that they have never seen this woman in their lives, while working - we’ll note - in a highly secure facility…) Thus Facundo loses Terry and then is promptly asked to leave the premises, when the staff realizes he does not belong there (at least someone is paying attention). No rescue for Paulina for today. Instead she debriefs with the doctor and tells him all about the scare. They decide this blackout was orchestrated by Carlos’s enemies.

La Usurpadora - Capitulo 9

Recap by Princess Juju

This is going to be short because it's 1:00 am and I worked like 13 hours today, or rather yesterday.

Manuel is snooping and learns that Paulina has a plan to escape and that Monse, her nurse is in on it. He runs to his lair to inform Paola and Terrible Terry of this development, they agree that they can't attempt to kill Paulina again but perhaps they can neutralize her and a diabolical plan is born. Although I guess this plan isn't as bad as the initial plan to kidnap an innocent woman in order to force her to pretend to be Paola only to later kill her on national tv.

La Usurpadora - Capitulo 8 - A silhouette of a galan emerges

We open with Paulina standing in the foyer of Gonzalo’s house with Santiago pointing a gun at her. Meanwhile at Manuel’s, Paola and company are watching the scene unfold via a live stream (I suppose we are to presume Paola installed a few cameras there while she was lately camping out at that house?). Suddenly, out of nowhere, Nava jumps out and tries to tackle Santiago. Watching this on screen, Paola is freaking out – yet another murderous plan is about to be botched!! A short struggle ensues, where Santiago temporarily has an upper hand but ends up running away. Nava chases him.

El Dragón: Major Character Profiles

As per usual, these are a compilation of various public interviews/publicity shorts released around the net of those most intimately involved in these characters' creation -- ed.]

Miguel Garza:

Miguel Garza is someone who is completely of and with the times, who approaches narcotics trafficking in a contemporary style and manner that doesn’t empower villains and criminal types

Adela Cruz:

She is a chauffeur who meets and becomes involved with Miguel’s mirky, tumultuous business dealings.  Her biggest ambition in life is to demonstrate to him that there is a world out there within which he can contend (supposedly on his terms?)

Jimena Ortiz:

She has an advanced degree in finance and, as the “bad girl” in this telenovela, doesn’t miss an opportunity to use her beauty to get whatever she wants.  A lover of money and power, she will insert herself between Miguel and Adela, in order to get him to become disillusioned with the young woman; and such that she gets him to lie, cheat and to use people.

Jorge Garza:

He is Miguel’s brother.  Fearful, shy, and with a secret that torments him.  He biggest worry is keeping the family calm and united despite its sad past.

Epigmenio Moncada:

His biggest ambition is to do away with Miguel Garza and to have absolute power over Grupo El Salado. In his search for power he never call into question his killing of Miguel Garza and his family.

Chisca Garza:

She is an ambitious, irreverent girl who will not rely on dumb luck at the time to find a good man that will love her.

Dora Garza:

She is a woman whose only preoccupation will be her family.  She will look to fulfill the final wishes of her husband: whereby she will see that all his enemies should come to a nasty end.
