El Clon, Wed., June 23- Summary for discussion

Jade tells Rania everything - her love for the Westerner and that she wants to be divorced from Said. Rania is shocked. Jade begs Rania to help her and dangles the prospect of being first wife in front of her. Rania reluctantly agrees to let Jade use her phone. While Jade calls Lucas, Rania keeps watch.

Jade tells Lucas that she is being sent back to Morocco without Jadiya. She asks him to kidnap Jadiya from Latifa and bring her to Miami. Lucas is about to tell her that he can't possibly do that when Said shows up and Jade has to hide in Rania's bedroom. [What can we say - the brilliant Jade has asked Lucas to commit a serious felony. I guess while Lucas is in prison for 30 years, Jade could meet and fall in love with Daniel.]

Said tells Rania not to do what she has already done - help Jade. He says that if he finds out she has helped Jade, he will send her back to her family.

The mysterious Arab who is opening the club where half the cast is going to work is named Sain - only one letter different from Said. The similar names continue on this novela. Marisa asks if Lucas knows this Sain and mentions that Alej is his chauffeur. Lucas says that he doesn't know Sain and begs Marisa not to ruin the kid's life. He might as well talk to a stone.

The Skank (with a k) and her mother are lying in wait for Roberto at a club. He arrives and Karla moves in on him.

Luisa hires a dectective to follow Albi.

Nati and Alej are preparing a romantic dinner. While looking for a lighter for a candle, Alej finds Nati's stash. [This was right before the credits. When the program resumed, something was obviously missing because we had a shot of about a second of Alej holding Nati. Did anyone else see more?]

Hilda implements the plan to leave Karla alone with Roberto. It would have worked, too except that the insanely jealous Lucia calls. Roberto tells her that he is in a restaurant getting something to eat. Lucia tells Roberto to get back to the house in 20 minutes or she is coming back to Miami and setting the house on fire. [FYI Roberto - with Google Voice and other services, you could get your home number to ring on your cell phone and answer it anywhere.] Alas, Roberto doesn't know about these things and he has to go home and leave Karla unimpregnated. She is sure that it will work out, Esto ya es pan comido, literally, this is already cooked bread.

Is there some kind of Muslim prohibition on a man going to the woman's side of the bed? Jade hides in full view on the floor on Rania's side of the bed presumably while Said and Rania get undressed, have sex and fall asleep. Finally, Rania wakes up and signals Jade to leave.

Mohamed finds Latifa confessing her love to her photos of him. He forgives her for what happened.

The Chump comes to see Clara to give her an earful about going out with the young stud.

Things are closing in on Albi. Daniel is suspicious of his explanation of the Luisa problem. He asks Dora to go see Luisa and find out what she thinks about Daniel.

Albi goes to see Daniel and conveniently (for the detective) meets her outside the apartment so the detective can get photos.

Latifa and Mohamed disagree about Jade. Latifa thinks that it is unfair that Jade can't see Jadiya while Mohamed is going to scold Jade on behalf of Ali.

Albi confesses to Padre Andres that he created a human clone. The Padre is horrified and begs Albi to destroy the embyro, not knowing that the clone is a 20-year old man.

Dora comes to see Luisa and drops the bombshell that Daniel is back in town and Albieri knows this.

Jade is leaving for the airport but she asks to say goodbye to Rania. While pretending to embrace her, Jade begs Rania not to give away anything she might have overheard.

Dora tells Daniel that Luisa doesn't have anything against him and is happy that he is back. Luisa has invited Dora and Daniel to dinner.

Albieri return home to be scolded by Luisa for not telling her about Daniel's return.

The credits roll.

Corazon Salvaje, Tuesday, June 22: Ep 87--It's a full moon honeymoon.

Juan wakes up in bed with Regina and freaks out. He hopes he didn't do anything to her and has a hurried and whispered conversation with God about it. When he realizes Reggie is waking up, he lies down with his back to her. She turns over and puts an arm over him, then freaks out and jumps out of bed. She's glad he didn't move all night. He "wakes up" and asks if she's fine, if he didn't do anything. They have a very predictable argument about Juan crawling into her bed and refusing to get out. And also, he smelled like booze. Juan agrees that he's smelling boozy. He laughs about her taking his boots off--"Good thing, cause I tend to move around a lot when I sleep." She asks if he finds this "jocoso," and says she had a horrible night making sure he didn't fall out of bed or crawl on top of her. Juan asks her if she'll please give him some water. He did have too much to drink after all. But who can blame him, with such friendly women at the bar. She throws the glass of water in his face and he licks it off his shirt. She gripes that she has a right to be upset, as his wife. But he says if it bothered her so much, he'll promise not to do it again…if she forgives him. Well, she'll think about it. Juan grabs his chest in pain and says he's going up to visit with the crew. Dude, did he get a tattoo? And is it Reggie's name? And is it spelled correctly?

Leonarda goes into her armoire and pulls out the cask of jewels. She thought bubbles that the jewels are now all hers. She's free of Arcadio, finally. Leo burns Constanza's letter. She says she only has to get rid of Reggie and Juan and she and Rod can be happy together.

Gabe and the Virgen have a convo. Gabe wants Jimena safe and sound, and found. He loves her and he can't live without her. He offers his life for hers, if it will help, but he just wants her to come back safe.

Jimena gets accosted by a tavern patron while all the others look on. He says everyone's got a price. She gets away from him, but he grabs her again and gets a knee in the groin for his trouble. When that doesn't cool him off, she cracks a bottle over his head. Her boss says if she keeps breaking stuff she's going to have to pay for it. Jimena threatens the remaining patrons that if they don't behave themselves around her, they'll get the same.

Phillipe is happy to hear from Madame that Rosenda is feeling better. She'd almost rather that Rosenda keeps her shiny new amnesia. Not just to forget about her, but so she'll forget about Rod and Leo. Phillipe tells her about Renato's bad behavior at the casino the other night. Madame says that they may act like gentlemen, but the're really all barbarians. She's shocked to hear that Rodrigo dared show his face there again. Madame says if he insists on coming, he'll be treated like any other client, no special treatment. Phillipe passes on the news that Arcadio torched the hacienda and took off. He doesn't think Rosenda is in any danger anymore. Marlene is thrilled to hear it.

Doc starts to teach Rosenda about some of the compounds and such that he uses. They giggle over her trouble with pronunciation. She's not sure she'll be able to remember it all, but he says she'll learn it little by little. A bottle of pills gets knocked over in their awkward flirting and they have a moment while picking up thepills.

Reggie gets herself dressed, including her now customary head scarf and some new bare shoulders. She sees Juan skinny dipping . And yes, he does the backstroke. Reggie is shocked and has to run back to the cabin. She could probably use one of Aimee's fans now, if they're not all chewed up.

She pulls the curtains and fumes about "that man." She takes another look out the window and gets another eyeful. She's scandalized at the sight of her HUSBAND swimming naked where she might actually get a good look at him.

Noel tells Renato "I told you so" about Arcadio. Ren says it will take a while to recover from the damage. Noel is upset that Paraiso got destroyed. He reminds Ren that he'll support him in reconstructing Paraiso. Nah, Ren is over it now. It should have stayed a dream. That's the most fertile land and after the fire, they'll need it. Renato is tired of getting kicked around by life. Renato the idealist has been killed by betrayal. Renato is dead, long live Renato.

Juan comes into the cabin, fully clothed, and Reggie tries to hide behind her bible. He goes back out of the cabin so he can knock on the door. She won't let him in until he promises he's got clothes on. And even then she's afraid to look. Juan is glad to see her and asks her to join him on deck and see the view of Saba. Oh, Reggie's gotten quite enough of a view for today. She leaves the cabin, having a hard time looking at him. The Daisy Duke-style shirt is bothersome to me.

On deck, Reggie admires the view of the island, and also the smell of pimiento, clavo, and nuez moscada. Juan agrees. He starts telling her about the other islands and other places she needs to see. Reggie tells him she sees him as a different person. Juan says he feels like he's known her his whole life.

Reggie imagines that everyone on the island must be happy. Juan reminds her man takes evil wherever he goes. Women included. Reggie is sure Juan isn't one of those evil men. He advises her not to bet on him or he might disappoint her. There's a lot of cruelty in the world. He slips up and calls her "Santa Regina" again, but they agree he'll try not to call her that and he'll try to get used to her calling him Juan de Dios. He says it was his father's name, after all, so no reason to avoid it. He agrees to tell her his whole story one day, but immediately excuses himself to go shout orders at his crew.

Jimena/Angela's grandpa and Raul meet with Noel at the café to ask for his help in locating Angela. Raul is sure with all the people Noel knows, he could advise the private investigator. Noel is happy to help and agrees to work with the investigator to get some quick results. Noel says he hopes they can find Alberto's grandchild and end his family's suffering. Alberto gives her full name as Angela Ramirez Villareal.

Eloisa and Fed discuss Jimena. Fed says she really freaked out Fully. Eloisa says he denied it, but she can tell he was surprised by what Jimena said. Fed says they've got to hurry up and kill Fully. Eloisa's waiting for the right moment to poison him. She wonders what Jimena meant about the weapons, especially since Fully's business is coffee. Fed avoids the question, saying Jimena just makes things up to get money from people. Eloisa decides she's tired of talking.

Renato goes into his new bedroom and looks at Reggie's journal again. He sits down and starts to open it, but decides not to disrespect Reggie by reading it. He finds a hankie with her perfume lingering and muses that it's the fresh perfume of a good woman.

Reggie starts trying to ask Juan about his past once they're headed away form the island. Juan doesn't like to think about his childhood. Reggie figures that he gets on so well with Colibri because they have similar pasts. Juan says that Colibri was physically mistreated, while he, Juan, had his soul destroyed. And yeah, he does think it's that bad. He doesn't want to talk about it. But Reggie wants to understand…Juan asks her not to waste such a nice day. He says who a person is isn't all about what family a person comes from. There's a tree analogy. Reggie likes it and thinks what he said was very pretty.

Back at the finca, Gabe is desperately seeking Jimena and has come to ask for Clem's help. She lets him know that Jimena hasn't been there in a long while. She tells him not to lose faith, but he feels guilty. Clem says the whole mess was both their faults. Gabe regrets not realizing what Juan was trying to tell him all this time. Clem tells him to stay calm and pray to the Virgen del Carmen. Gabe is sure she'll help him.

Marlene has brought Rosenda some lotion as a gift, since pregnancy dries out one's skin. Rosenda kisses her hand in thanks, on impulse. Marlene is thrilled.

Lulu runs into Noel in town. He apologizes for not coming by lately, but he's been busy. He tells her she looks much prettier dressed simply, as she is now. Lulu tells him she's missed talking to him. She's learned so much from him. Noel realizes he's keeping her from her shopping, but asks if he can have a moment of her time to chat.

Gabe rides along, looking for Jimena under every rock and behind every tree. So does Branko, only he does it on foot. Neither one of them has any luck, but at least they look pretty doing it.

Clemencia worries about Regina and hopes Juan is treating her well. Renato wonders what she's sighing about. Ren figures Regina is fine, being in love with Juan and all. He can't understand how she changed so much, into a secretive women. Clem says Reggie is as open as always, she never lied to anyone. Clem realizes that Ren never really knew Reggie at all. Ren thinks about this and heads back to his bedroom. He remembers Clem saying that Reggie did everything she did for love and that he never knew Reggie the way she deserved for him to know her. He starts reading the journal from the end, on the day she married Juan. Now he knows she loved him and married Juan to protect Aimee. Renato can't believe it--Reggie sacrificed herself for him. Yeah, don't let it go to your head.

El Clon Tuesday June 22: Summary for Discussion

It was an evening of betrayal, bad faith and bad omens. Yet tonight when Said pushed Jade, she finally pushed back. And Natalia melted the hearts of all ( I mean those who actually have hearts, which, of course, excludes Marisa.)

Estoy en una encrucijada
I’m at a crossroads, Albieri tells his priest friend, Andres. They agree to meet the following day in the clinic to discuss Albi’s troubles and to help him make a decision which, he tells Andres, will either make him immortal or destroy him.

In the clinic:
Escobar tells Luisa she’s judging Malicia unfairly. (I lost the transmission for a moment or two so I don’t know if I missed anything here.)
Luisa and Anita discuss the rude awakening in store for Escobar when he figures out how rotten Malicia really is.
When Albi enters, Luisa asks him where he’s been. She thinks he’s lying when he tells her he was with Andre.
Anita convinces Luisa to hire a private detective to follow Albi since clearly following people is not in her skill set. They find a guy on the internet, Armando Ramos, PI and arrange to meet him that evening. (I have a feeling it’s not in his skill set either.)

At Said’s house/prison:
Zoraida tells Jade that she thinks Said is sending Jade to Morocco; she’s afraid Said will punish them both. She reproaches Jade for her behavior and tells her she has misread the signs of her destiny. I’ll write my own destiny, says Jade.

Rania phones her sister Amina and begs her to come back to Miami. Said won’t talk to her, she’s afraid, doesn’t understand what’s happening but thinks Jade may have a lover. Amina tells her to watch Jade so she can report everything back to Said.

In Fez:
Amina and Zumaya, a niece of Abdul, are shopping in the Medina when they come upon Abdul who is talking to a certain Yamid about his daughter Jazmin; Abdul thinks she’d be a good wife for Mohamed. Whoa! Unclear if Amina heard, but it looks like she did…Abdul shoos them back to the house.

At Mohamed’s house in Miami:
A reprise of last night’s argument between Latifa and Mohamed. Afterward Samira comforts her mother and promises to stay with her.

In Empresa Ferrer:
Clara tells Carolina how humilliating it will be for Escobar to see her with Felipe since he’s the son of one of his best friends, actually saw his birth. Caro tells her friend her concerns about Enrique’s drinking.

Natalia comes in to see Leo. He wants to increase her allowance. What I want is your acceptance of Alej, she says. Let’s give it some time, he says.
Lucas greets her lovingly and echoes Leo: Let’s give it some time.

In La Casa Ferrer:
Marisa repeats to Rosa that Nati is making the worst mistake of her life by seeing Alej. Oh and by the way, I’m going out to dinner with Said. Misericordia divina! says Rosa.

In the Neighborhood:
Hilda and the SKanK are off Roberto-hunting, heading for his favorite disco, while Prince Amin ogles.

Gloria serves Nati a huge bowl of sopa de hueso carnudo to put a little meat on her bones. Nati smiles bravely and has at while Alej beams.

In Dora’s place:
Daniel is relaxing, listening to music. Dora’s going out. Check out my mole (lunar), he says. It’s growing.
¿Te duele?
Does it hurt?
No, me pica.
No, it kind of itches/bothers me.

While in La Casa Ferrer, Lucas is telling Rosa that his mole seems to have grown. That hasn’t happened since Diego died she says. Better have Albieri check it out. (Oh man, I don’t like where this mole stuff is going. Remember that Diego and Lucas’s mother died of melanoma)

In a restaurant in Miami:
Marisa and Said are dining and an acquaintance, Luis, greets them and asks after Lucas. He’s working, says Marisa.
Marisa tells Said that even thought she doesn’t give a fig about Lucas, she’s afraid he is going to get away sin un rasguño (without a scratch) and she wants him punished. Sin un rasguño? Says who? replies Said, who, it appears, is really into punishment. They kiss very publicly just to be sure Luis will tell Lucas what he saw.

Roberto is on the phone with Lucia, tells her he’s all alone, working. As soon as he hangs up, he’s off to party. (If he knew who was waiting to ambush him, he'd stay home and watch Animal Planet.)

Carolina gets worried because Enrique’s not answering his phone. She goes to his place to check on him, finds him unconscious on the floor, and calls an ambulance. Lucas joins her, tells her these alcoholic black-outs happen de vez en cuando (from time to time).

At TODIM (the only disco in Miami):
Escobar and Malicia see Clara’s entrance with Felipe. Clara looks hot and Escobar looks hot and bothered. Then Malicia craftily uses his jealousy to her benefit. She convinces the fat fool to use his euros to buy an apartment in Malicia’s name so Clara won’t be maintaining her boytoy with his money.

At Said’s house/prison:
Jade is sitting downstairs, waiting when Said enters. He announces that he is sending her to Morocco right away, that she will be under Tío Abdul’s charge, that Jadiya will stay in Miami and that Rania will be Jadiya’s mother. I’ll never accept that, rejoins Jade. I’ve already decided, says Said. Go have children with Lucas because you’re never going to see Jadiya again.

At first Jade begs him for mercy, but he is intransigent. This is all your fault, he says. Now resign yourself.

And then….Jade pushes back!!!! (Yay!!! She heard us!!!)
Over my dead body, she cries. I’m a U.S. citizen and I have legal rights. I can accuse you of bigamy!
You do that, says Said, and while we fight, Jadiya will end up in foster care!
Oh no, says Jade, Lucas and his lawyers will keep that from happening. I won’t leave without Jadiya!

Rania is listening in the background.

When the women are alone, Jade appeals to Rania for help, saying: I’m going to tell you the truth…

Dinero 6/22: Tequila, gossip, jealousy - and an incompetent private eye is born.

I've been away in la-la land marrying off my daughter (see picture).

I thought I'd be recuperated tonight for recapping - then my son drove to the beach and went in the ocean wearing his glasses, which were washed away, so he couldn't drive home. This situation necessitated quite a few phone calls during the Dinero hour.

Luckily, we're in somewhat of a holding pattern. Here are the high points:
  • Don Gaston is willing to lend Rafa the 4.5 million pesos - everybody knows this means Rafa is gonna have to marry Vicki Vicki Vicki no joke!!

But with this money, Rafa could get out from under his debt, which would free his mom from the threat of jail and therefore make it possible for him to tell Ale what's been going on. (We know full juicy disclosure can't happen because Marco has to remain a credible contender for the indefinite future, let's see what derails it now.)

Ale drapes herself over Marco purely to make Rafa jealous; Marco thinks he's made great headway with her - she even agrees to have dinner with him! Rafa is indeed jealous. Marco gloats: "No way you'll get the money to pay off your debt unless you rob a bank." Rafa roughs him up a tiny bit.

After being goaded by Marco, Rafa gets a call from his mother about the loan from Vicki's dad. He tells her to accept the money.

  • Zetina shows up yet again looking for work. This time it occurs to Rafa to hire Zetina to follow Marco around - particularly to the bar where he meets his shady companions, the fat guy and the fat woman - and find out what's going on!

  • Susana and Ale gossip about Ale's jealousy. Chavez and Marco gossip about Ale: "She called me her guardian angel! She despises that imbecile, and he'll never be able to pay her off!"

  • Rafa rushes out of town on business and tells Susana to cancel his dinner meeting with Marian. To make an unnecessarily long story short, Ale takes Marian Celeste's phonecall and the sniping begins. Ale insists she is just as able as Rafa to talk trucks with Marian, and she is not too fastidious to eat at the home-cookin' restaurant ("Meat Palace") Marian has selected.

Ale puts on her war paint and dresses for battle. The two lovely ladies decide to drink each other under the table while having a conversation which is supposedly about Marian's buyer's remorse (she thinks the new trucks may not be tough enough for the rainy mountainous terrain) but is actually about Rafa's heart and Ale's jealousy.

  • At the eleventh hour Rafa loans Jimenez 3500 pesos to get out from under a financial fiddle - Jimenez had pocketed the extra money a customer had paid for some special work in the shop, and the shop would not release the car to the customer until the bill was paid.

  • Things deteriorate, predictably, at the Meat Palace - more tequilas slide down the hatch and the girls trade accusations: "You keep trumping up these excuses to meet with Rafa!" "You keep showing up with your inappropriate jealousy!" "You say you're doing business, but you really want him to satisfy your - other necessities!" "The ones you didn't satisfy, girl."

They agree they can't stand each other and toast to honesty. Susana calls Ale and is shocked (along with Rafa) to realize she is three sheets to the wind! Ale: "Gotta hang up, it's time for the second round."

Tomorrow: Rafa shows up at the Meat Palace and it looks like a kiss may be in store. I sure hope so!

Corazon Salvaje - Monday, June 21 - Arca reveals Leona's secrets; Branko and Gabe work together to find Jimena

EPISODE #86:

* Everyone is sitting around the table worried sick about where Jimena is. Branko arrives carrying Jimena’s skirt and blames Gabe for her death.

* Rod tells Leo his ideas to punish Renato, get rid of Juan and put Regina in a convent permanently. Leo wants it to work out and everyone to return to being happy. Rod thinks Ren and Aimee will work out their problems. Rod and Leo are at the point of kissing when Arcadio walks in and interrupts by shouting to Rod that Leo is his lover and has been for several years! Rod is stunned. Leo is mortified by the shameful lies and tries to get Arcadio to shut up and leave. Arca refuses to leave, and instead starts to spout off about every secret he’s been keeping for Leo - especially about her sister Maria de Rosario, who, he tells Rod, isn’t really dead! Rod is about to hyperventilate with the news. Leo tells him “how dare you say these lies!” Rod orders him to leave immediately. Arcadio says all these things which he says is true, and then he spouts one final secret, that Leo was the one who poisoned and killed Constanza! Arcadio mutters about the letter he has that will prove what he says is true. He runs out of the room to get it. Leo is really worried. Rod is still stunned and hyperventilating.

* Branko tells Mariela it is true that Jimena is dead. He also assures her of his honesty as a gypsy and his plan to marry and live happily with Jimena as his wife.

* Ren has a flashback -- he thinks of Aimee’s statement to him about her innocence and that Regina is the one who was the rebel and snuck around with Juan. She was jealous and scared that her sister would marry Juan. Renato wanders over to the bedside table, and finds Regina’s diary hidden underneath.

* Rod asks Leo if it is true. She swears on her sister’s grave that all Arcadio’s comments are a lie. He wonders why Arcadio would lie? Leo stammers and comes up with a plausable reason. Rod believes it and thinks about Arcadio and the crazy lady. Arcadio returns with a folded up piece of paper. He claims it is Constanza’s letter which is the proof that Leo poisoned and killed her. Rod takes the paper, opens and looks at it. He crumples it up and shouts, there’s nothing on it! it’s blank! Arcadio goes ballistic and starts to strangle Leo and orders her to tell the truth and say where the letter is! Rod aims his pistol at Arcadio’s back. He shoots. Arcadio is winged in the upper arm and drops to the nearby chair. Leo runs to the side of the room near Rod. Rod orders Arcadio to leave the ranch and never return. Arcadio will leave but vows to return. Leo catches her breath after being mauled by Arcadio.

* In the dungeon cell, Arcadio holds his injured arm and stumbles down to the ground. He takes his knife and opens a board on the bottom of the wall. He looks inside and sees the jewels are gone. He is upset and frustrated -- Where are those jewels? he exclaims as he picks up a pitchfork.

* Branko and Gaby are now face to face in an argument. Raul and Mariela’s father try to diffuse the disagreement. Branko swears on his gypsy honor and invites them to the camp to search for themselves if they don’t believe him. Gabe readily accepts the invitation.

* Arcadio is back in his room and finds all the jewels. He debates on showing them to Rod and Leona. He thinks they may say he stole them so he decides to take the jewels and leave the ranch.

* Ren enters the office. He heard the gunshot and wondered what happened? Rod and Leona explain about Arcadio’s outburst. Ren is angry about Arcadio’s actions against his mother. Rod said he told Arcadio to leave and never return. Ren says good, because if Arcadio doesn’t leave, he will kill Arcadio himself.

* Arcadio is out in the fields and near the Paraiso encampment. He grunts about the “evil Montes de Oca family” and takes his torch and starts to light every shack on fire.

* Rosie has another nightmare about Rod and Leona. She is in a panic as she wakes up and pants heavily. Dr. Pablo is right there by her side and listens as she is frustrated she can’t remember who the people were and what happened to her. Pablo works to calm her down and he tells her to focus on the present, herself, her baby, and the people who are with her right now. Don’t worry about the past or the future - if she remembers, good, if not, don’t worry about it. She thanks him and says his name “Pablo”. He smiles and helps her back into bed.

* Arcadio finishes setting the camp ablaze.

* Branko brings Gabe to the camp. As the gypsies all gather around and listen to Branko and Gabe try to organize everyone to search for Jimena. Selma and Griselda try to stop them from searching. Griselda tries to get them to let her niece ‘rest in peace’. The group doesn’t listen and are focused on searching the river tonight. Servando is lurking in the bushes and spying on the group.

* A servant and Celia are running around yelling for Renato. Renato appears from his bedroom. They tell him that Arcadio is burning the camp and fields. Leona panics. Renato tells her that he is in charge of the ranch and he will go take care of this.

* Leona and Rod talk in private.

* Mariela and her mom and dad are discussing her worries about Jimena. Her parents try to console her and calm her down. They give her hope about the search for her own daughter Angela. Mariela now is also worried about Jimena. She prays to the angels for a miracle to find both Angela and Jimena.

* Gabe and Branko sit by a fire at the gypsy camp. There’s no sign of Jimena yet. Gabe suspects that Griselda and Selma know something. The two make a pact to work together to find Jimena.

* Servando corners Griselda and demands she tell him where she is hiding Jimena. It is a matter of his life and livelihood. Griselda claims she has no idea where Jimena is. Selma appears and defends Griselda’s story. Servando doesn’t believe them.

* Men at the saloon are complaining and harassing Jimena as she tries to work. One starts to paw at her. She fights back and goes back to work. The two men gossip.

* Ren and people work together on a water brigade to fight the fires. Ren takes two buckets into a burning shack. He comes out and has to kneel and cough due to smoke inhalation. A man helps Renato away from the fire. Renato continues to give orders to the people. Someone comes up to Renato to tell him that Arcadio was the one who set the fires. Renato continues to give orders about fighting the fires.

* Rod confronts Leona in the office about all of Arcadio’s commentaries. Leona cries and wonders why should she have to defend herself for all of that. Rod is still stunned and needs to know the truth. Leona reminds Rod that he was there when Arcadio opened Maria’s tomb. She then comes up with a story about Arcadio playing a trick on them with the body.

* Jacinta talks with Maria about her ramblings.

* Rod believes Leona’s explanation. Leona continues her story and says that Arcadio is a complete menace and it’s good he’s gone now. Rod gives her a consoling hug.

* On the Luzbel, in the captain’s cabin, Regina stands behind the curtain near the bed all dressed and ready to go to bed. She hears the door open and Juan enter. He’s tired and maybe a little drunk. He finds the chair, takes off his shirt and flings himself through the curtain and lands face first onto the bed. Regina is startled and jumps through the curtain to the other side of the room. She looks and wonders if he’s asleep. She grumbles and tries to wake him up to get him off her bed. He rolls over and is still asleep. She complains about him being on her bed. She tries to push, pull and roll him off the bed. He continues to sleep. She rolls him over and grumbles as she tries to take his boots off. He sits up and helps with the boots. She almost falls backward as he pulls his boot off. He lays back down and sleeps. She continues to walk around the bed, whining and complaining. She finally gives up and pushes him over so she can get into bed. She lays down and jumps up fast as he rolls over onto her. She thought bubbles about never sleeping with him or any man.

ADVANCE: crucial moments coming along in the story. Don’t miss an episode!

El Clon, Mon., June 21 - Summary for Discussion

I guess Jade danced for Said 'cause the first scene of tonight's exciting episode is Said and Jade in a mall. What mall? TOMIM (the only mall in Miami), of course. Said leaves Jade for a few minutes and who does she see? Lucas, of course.

Clara has a plan to hook up with a young stud to make Escobar jealous after he left her for a 'mosca muerta,' literally, 'a dead fly.'

Malicia brings her reptilian charms to the lab and cons Escobar, aka, Ratoncito (little mouse) [is she referring to his equipment?] out of his credit and debit cards.

Jade and Lucas escape from Said. Roberto runs into Said and lets him know that he was meeting Lucas at the mall.

Luisa wants Albieri to forbid Malicia to visit the lab. He refuses and then Luisa tells him that she is sure that Malicia knows about the embryo substitution. Albieri puts on his agonized look and flashes back to accusing Malicia of messing with his cloning diary.

Lucas takes Jade to his love nest.

Said returns home in a fury. He accuses Zoraida of helping Jade to meet Lucas. He searches Jade's room and finds Latifa's cell phone. Now he's sure that Mohamed was in on the deception, too. He tells Zoraida to pack Jade's bags.

Lucas tells Jade to stay at the love nest and then they can run away to Italy. Jade replies that they have to wait until the divorce finalizes so that she can leave with Jadiya. Lucas says that bad things happen when they wait. Jade utters the fateful phrase, 'Nunca, nadie ni nada va a volver separarnos, nunca,' 'No one and nothing will ever separate us'.

Another close encounter of the clone kind - Daniel is apparently hanging around outside of the love nest. [Why?] He just misses seeing Jade leave.

Said and Mohamed confront Latifa with the phone and accuse her of helping Jade. She barely manages to say that she didn't know what happened to the phone when the Naz comes in and delivers a tirade against Latifa and Jade but also against Said and Mohamed that leaves them speechless for a moment.

Then Mohamed announces his punishment of Latifa - no conjugal visits for a month.

Jade appears and defends Latifa by saying that she took Latifa's phone without her knowledge. She tells Said that she lost him in the mall and had to take a bus to Mohamed's house because she didn't have money for a cab. Said that he has made a decision and she will find out what it is when she gets back to the house.

Alej visits his Mom while Nati is at the apartment cleaning. Leo calls Nati and says that he wants to meet her and that he will send her money through Rosa. Marisa overhears this conversation and tells Leo that he is not helping the situation.

Clara meets her young stud at a club. Enrique gets wasted while Carolina frets.

When Jade gets home, she sees her bags backed. Said says that she wanted to run away and now she will have the opportunity.

Abdul comes to Ali's house and tells his servants that Jade is returning from America and that until Ali returns from South America, Ali will be in charge and run Ali's house like a prison camp. Amina, who came with Abdul, takes pleasure in telling Ali's servant, Carima, that Latifa is in trouble too for conspiring with Jade.

Latifa is in the doghouse and Mohamed won't eat the goodies she made.

Albieri comes to Dora's house to see Daniel. Dora makes him go to the club and clear up her problem with Osvaldo. Albieri swears to Osvaldo that although he treats Daniel as his son, he has never had any relationship with Dora and that Daniel is not really his son. Dora and Osvaldo reconcile but probably not for the last time.

Lucia, Andrea and apparently, Fernando, are going somewhere for 2 days. Roberto is alone and when the cat's away...

Malicia comes to Cristina's club. She makes nice but Vicki is suspicious of her. Outside, Malicia fantasizes about having Cristina's job at the new club and says that she will see how long Cristina's luck lasts.

Albieri goes to see his priest friend. He says that he will die if he doesn't tell someone.

The credits roll.

Dinero 6/21/2010 Not Much Plot But Product Placement Out The Wazoo

Gee, was it Kat who was hoping we'd move the plot along a little tonight? Sorreeeey, baby. We were treading water this evening and then some. Quintana and Jorge did a little AARP chest thumping about the duel over Rosario. Bebe indulged in some heavy handed Ford Fusion Promoting (I'm thinking of another "p" word but it wouldn't be nice). Chavez and Marcos dither about the hacienda. Dominatrix Carmela threatens Marcos over the phone that he'd better show up and put out or the deal is off. Vicky Vicky Vicky cooks a little and faints a lot, impelling Papa Gaston to agree to the loan. Rafa and Ale make each other jealous--He with his gushing conversation with Marian; she with her equally gushing welcoming of Marcos. And that's pretty much the ballgame. If you're pressed for time, go directly to "comment" and log in. If not, settle in and I'll give you a few more details.

After some huffy words with Jorge (Which color shorts do you prefer? I don't give a damn. Can't we talk about this? We're only talking with our fists, you low lying Casanova, you.), Quintana sweeps out of the house, leaving Rosario wringing her hands. (This woman needs a career. Or at least a job.)

Next, we're at Auto Siglo and here comes a whole lot of blah blah blah about the luxurious Ford Fusion and its interactive system, complete with sexy voice to give you driving directions. But wait! there's more! You can put photos on the screen, you can send messages, if you're hungry, it will show you all the restaurants in the neighborhood, you can have a gazillion radio stations. Good Lord, it's heaven on earth! Rush right out and buy one. Go ahead. I'll wait.

While the actor playing Bebe lowers himself to deliver this spiel, Ramiro thinks about how great it would be to win the contest and such a car. But he'd have to sell it to pay off all his debts. Ay dios mio!

Onward and downward. Marcos and Chavez are at yet another restaurant and our flaccid Viagra-challenged lawyer is dialing Carmela's number. She's thrilled to hear his voice until he brings up the matter of the hacienda. No way is she going to lie to Alejandra. Of course she has every right to administer the hacienda. It's no longer under embargo. Well, there is a little negotiating room. No phone calls from Guadalajara. Marcos in person. Deeds, action, bed, money, in that order! Then maybe Carmela will go along with the deal. Marcos looks anxious, hustles off leaving Chavez with the bill and possibly some lubricious fantasies about what awaits his hapless partner.

Our random scene tonight is with the Queen and that little castrado Chato who waits on her hand and foot. With the wrong food. He's bringing her a fruit plate and she wants something with a little more heft and grease. And some salsa borracha while you're at it. And she gets it.

But will Quintana get it? He's meeting his sleazy friend at a bar to talk about his headway with Rosario. His buddy thinks it's crazy that two old dudes are going to get in a fistfight over the honor of this middle-aged damsel. How ridiculous. The random drunk guy staggers up, mumbles something and staggers away again. (Imagine having that as your assigned role in a telenovela.)

Well, we're ready for a little Rafita time. He's on the phone to Marian, sweet-talking her into giving him some good references for the bank loan. Every word he says is inflaming Ale. And not in a good way. He burbles that Marian is a guardian angel, he'll be grateful for the rest of his life for her help. Just give me a chance to show you how much I appreciate it. he adds. Un beso. Si un beso y muchas gracias. Meanwhile Ale, to borrow a phrase from Flores, looks like she swallowed a bug. A big one!

As soon as Rafa is off the phone, Ale lights into him as only she can do. She wants him to come up with the money right now. Where's his commitment? And what a sleaze he is, drinking and sleeping with Ms. Celeste to finagle those good references. (Outraged protest from Rafa) Well, even if you didn't sleep with her...who cares!? You're free to do what you will with your life. Just get me my money so I don't every have to see you again! But what a creep you are, agreeing to sell those old trucks for her. You're working for Auto Siglo, not Celeste, no!? (Again outraged protest from Rafa. He's going in right now to tell Beltran about the truck agreement.)
There's some more palaver about the final sum and her need to have Marcos come up with the exact amount (I'm not alone after all! I have Marcos' support). More seething from Rafa. In fact, that's pretty much it. Sniping and seething. Seething and sniping. Feudin' a-fussin' and a-fightin'. Just take 'em back to the beach already. We need some romance pronto.

Rafa storms out to see Beltran as he asks Susana to line up the guy who drives him out to see Marian. Ale phones Marcos to have him come over and stipulate the exact amount. He dithers a bit but when she threatens to call another lawyer, he quickly heels and promises to appear. In the meantime, he's worried that even hypnotized, he won't be able to function with Carmela.

And you know what? If we can't get Rubi back, and the Ale/Rafa romance is down the tubes, I'd at least like to see another good tussle with Ms. Carmela. How about you?

Mientras tanto, Rafa's mending fences with Beltran. At first his boss is outraged at the agreement, but when Rafa tells him Auto Siglo will get a commission on the truck sales, Beltran is happy again. Money money money! All is well.

Time to meet with the posse now. Poor Trapito gets left out but the other guys hunker down to hear about the humongous loan Rafa has to try and swing to pacify Ale. Meanwhile, Ale is meeting with her mother confessor Susana to rage about Rafa's conversation with Marian. She's his guardian angel, he's building her an altar, he's unconditionally grateful. Grinch grinch grinch. Susana's looking like she's tiring of this. But she has to admit that when Rafa didn't come back from Marian's the other night, it must have been "bastante productiva". And the conversation ends with both of them having that MEN!!!! look on their faces. (you know the one, gals).

Back in the barrio, Vicky, in her near-death mode, has managed to dial the phone to call her "pajarito", but neither Susana nor Rafa will answer his cell. Fortunately a legitimate (well maybe not) phone call with Marian competes. She wants to meet Rafa for dinner. Some good ol' rich Mexican food. How about it? And we can talk trucks. Rafa's on board. Ale's incensed again.

Our poor hapless Zetina (Santana this evening) shows up. He still can't talk to Rafa but he does bump into Marcos which enrages our white-collar creep. He loudly demands to see Ale and Susana tells him to calm down.

Another jealousy setup. Ale is oozing warmth and charm. Marcos is more than a lawyer for her, he's her guardian angel, her savior. She can't wait to get out of this place. Lord! it even smells bad. Marcos is confused but delighted. Starts talking marriage again. Rafa is confused and furious. Twisting in the wind and making faces. Ale keeps peeking around the partition to see if he's suffering. He is. So are we. Marcos names the sum (Four million four thousand pesos? I dunno. I told you about my business sense) Anyway, it's a honking big wad of money and Marcos wants to see the papers Rafa has put together to apply for the loan. Rafa says he'll ask the bank for five million pesos (or whatever) to fully cover it.

Well, back to the barrio. Don Gaston is so concerned about the emotional stability of Vicky (he should be) that he's come to Leonor's house to tell her he's ready to fork over the dinero. But Rafa needs to dedicate a little more time to his daughter, come by the house, see her more often. And if he's agreeing to the loan, it's because he trusts Leonor and her sense of responsibility. After he's gone, her smile wavers a little and she starts to look worried. Ojala! she's doing the right thing. Well, you know the answer to that one, folks. And there we end.

Previews:

Nothing too much of interest except that Marian and Alejandra get together and are cooking up something. Marian says "Wow" (What's up with that? We'll find out tomorrow.)

Vocabulary:
Me da igual = I don't care (Enrique)
Atente a las consecuencias = Await the consequences (Jorge)
todas puedes manejar con tu voz = you can control everything with your voice (Bebe extolling the interactive system in the car)
más te vale que le funcione = you'd better be able to perform! (Carmela to Marcos)
tengo mejor pegada = Enrique boasting that he's in better shape and has a better punch

Dicho of the Day

Con dinero baila el perro. Lit. For money the dog will dance Fig. Money talks. Money greases the skids.

And everybody seems to want some in this story. Alejandra and Carmela, Marcos and Chavez, and of course, Enrique. ( Even our long gone Rubi) But will Rafa be able to come up with the loan? And still escape being Marian's boy toy? Tune in tomorrow and see.

Corazon Salvaje 6/18/10 Discussion

So sorry everyone. I was up really late trying to get my house clean so I don't have to do it when my son is here this weekend. It's been a year since I've seen him so I want to spend as much time as I can with him. So I'm posting this spot for discussion or if someone wants to do a summary that would be great. Again, my apologies.

Dinero #136, 6/18/10: Maid Marian Plays Damsel in Distress

Ale tells Marco she has decided to take over the hacienda and move there with her padre and tia. Marco looks like he just swallowed a bug.

Rafa gets his groove on poolside with Marian. Ladies in dental floss bikinis dance and flirt with several drooling young guys. Marian is pleased Rafa likes her house; she spends a lot of time making sure it is as pretty as possible. (The Christmas tree next to the pool does add a certain ambiance.) Rafa tells her the place is perfect but Marian says it lacks one thing: a husband and a couple kids to enjoy it. Rafa chokes on his tequila. “It sure is hot in here! If only I had brought a swimsuit…”

No problemo! Marian always has a few extra swimsuits packed away for just an occasion. She even has a thong. Rafa is horrified at the thought of wearing one but Marian assures him the thong is for her. He anxiously follows when Marian leaves to get suited up.

Ale is positive taking over the hacienda will solve a lot of the financial problems. They need to cut costs and the utilities at the hacienda are very reasonable compared to the casa. Marco doesn’t think the court will accept Ale’s proposal but Ale says she will go to the court herself if she has to. She has undeniable rights as the owner. Marco’s hands are tied, so he agrees with her.

A maid shows Rafa where to change and offers him a choice of three swim trunks. Rafa thinks Marian must have dozens of fellas taking a dip in her pool but the maid says the suits are strictly for cousins or close friends. Rafa picks the solid red trunks because red is the color of passion. Once alone in the bathroom, Rafa prays for guidance. He loves Alejandra and wants to get her back but wonders if it’s the right thing to do. “Give me a sign! Did you send Marian to get Ale out of my mind? If so, gracias!” (LOL) Rafa thinks for a moment but decides he still loves Ale.

Chavez chews out Chucho, the groundskeeper, for telling more stories about ghosts in the hacienda. Chucho is sure of what he saw and the ladies get nervous. Chavez tells everyone to forget it; they came to have fun and they’re going to have a good time, ghost or no ghost. Chavez gives Chucho permission to trap and kill the ghost any way he wants. Chucho holds his gun up over his head (?) and falls backwards into the pool. Chavez calls him an idiot and turns his attention to the ladies.

Rafa chats with other swimmers and almost drowns when Marian saunters by in her barely-there purple bikini. (And her very pixilated backside. Is there a cream for that? Because there are a bunch of other thong-wearing ladies in the background who most definitely aren’t pixilated.) Marian ruins the illusion by tripping very ungracefully into the pool. The party guests immediately stop to gawk. Marian floats facedown in the water and the music is far more concerned than I am. (She obviously didn’t hit her head. We see her flip around in the water, nowhere near the bottom or the wall.)

Rafa to the rescue! Like a flash, he is at Marian’s side. Rafa flips her over and gets help from several others in pulling Marian out of the pool. The guests instruct Rafa to start CPR by giving Marian a rescue breath. After Rafa gives her a breath, Marian peeks with one eye - which is conveniently not seen by the dozens of people crowded around. She quickly plays dead again to get another breath from Rafa. It’s a miracle! Marian spits up some water and Rafa is overjoyed.

Marian sways and moans but eventually comes around. Rafa helps her up and guides her away from the crowd. What is it with false illness and the women who love Rafa? Vicky is bedridden with “depression” and now Marian “drowns” herself for attention. It must mean Rafa and Ale are meant for each other since her fainting spell was real.

Jorge and Rosario storm into the house, obviously continuing an argument that has been going on since they left the party. Rosario is livid her brother won’t let her make her own decisions. She recounts the scene Jorge made at Hernan’s party to Ale and Marco. Jorge doesn’t deny roughing Quintana up and vows to fight for dignity and for Rosario’s honor. Ale refuses to let Jorge fight Quintana; besides, duels don’t exist anymore. Jorge will not let anyone laugh at his family or take advantage of his little sister, even if he has to die for it. He takes off to get some rest because he’s going to have a lot of training to do for the fight.

Marian is feeling much better now that she’s curled up on a makeshift bed next to Rafa. She pulls him close and admits she likes him very much. Rafa is at a loss for how to respond. “But you’re so gorgeous, you must have men around you all the time!” That doesn’t matter to Marian, she only has one man in mind. She nuzzles up to Rafa’s neck but he awkwardly shrugs away. Marian waxes poetic about love and Rafa treads lightly: he is clearly uncomfortable but does not want to offend Marian.

Rosario is mortified by Jorge’s behavior and runs off for her room. Ale says her goodbyes to Marco and will call him about going to court.

Marian closes in for a kiss but Rafa hops off the bed. He doesn’t want Marian to think he's insulting her but he has to be at work early the next morning. Marian asks him to stay but Rafa tells her they can meet for lunch another day. Rafa leaves and Marian is certain that Rafa is in love with Alejandra.

Rafa’s madre, sister, and Jaime greet him when he gets home. Rafa tells them Ale is leaving the Siglo but their happiness is short-lived when they find out Rafa has to pay off the entirety of his debt. Leonor tells Rafa to give Vicky a call since she’s been so ill lately. Rafa does as his madre asks but Vicky is too weak to talk on the phone. Rafa promises to visit the next day and worries VVV might really be sick if she won’t talk to him.

Don Gaston dotes on VVV while she moans about needing her pajarito by her side. Once they leave, VVV seems very pleased with herself.

Rafa frets about getting such a large loan; the only person who could personally give him so much money is Ale. Jaime picks Rafa’s brain to see if he has any other friends who could lend him the money. Rafa thinks Marian might loan him the dough if he asked her. Leonor finally finds her voice and tells Rafa she asked for the money from Don Gaston.

Rafa is shocked Leonor would go behind his back. Leonor says she couldn’t just sit by after making such a mistake in signing those papers without reading them. She went to Don Gaston to help get them out of the hell they have been living. Anyway, Don G never agreed to give them the money. Rafa is uneasy with Don G holding their fate in his hands.

Meanwhile, Don G is fed up with Vicky’s illness. Her health depends on Rafa, so he’ll lend Rafa the money. Bigger brother is amazed Don G would part with so much dinero but Don G says his daughter’s life is worth it. He is going to get everything together the following day. Of course Vicky overheard and is smiling triumphantly.

Ale sits down with Rosario and promises that everything will be worked out. They will convince Jorge one way or another that Quintana is worthy. Ale is going to be by Rosario’s side unconditionally; she is leaving the Siglo to devote her time to her family and the hacienda. Rosario is surprised but pleased with the idea of living in the hacienda but it would separate her from Quintana even more. Ale vows to help keep Quintana close, even if he has to move into the hacienda with them. Rosario's happiness is Ale's priority.

Ale confesses she is anxious to move into the hacienda so she can escape all the heartache surrounding her. Rosario thinks it’s a good idea to get away and forget all about Rafa. Ale cries that all the suffering is killing her; Rafa hurt her so badly.

Rafa vents to Jaime about his anguish over Ale leaving the Siglo. Rafa is going to lose Ale and he will never get a chance to prove he isn’t the thief she thinks he is. Jaime thinks Rafa should take the loan from Don Gaston, even if it means he has to marry Vicky. After all, she would make a good wife and mother. Rafa does not want to marry Vicky and wishes he could borrow the money from Marian. She practically invited him to spend the night with her. Marian is beautiful and smart but Rafa only has eyes for Ale. It wouldn’t feel right for Rafa to ask for money from Marian after he turned her down. “Every day the woman I love hates me more and more and I have to stop it.”

Ale clutches a pillow and cries over Rafa while Rafa similarly clings to his bed and thinks of his licenciada.

Jimenez begs everyone in the entire Siglo office to loan him 3,500 pesos. Of course, no one has the dinero to help him out. Rafa wishes he could help but has debts of his own to attend to. Jimenez confesses to Rafa that he took money from a client to pay for his kids’ school tuition. If Beltran or Ale find out, Jimenez will be out of the job. Rafa’s generosity gets the better of him and he gives Jimenez a check to cover it. Jimenez is so grateful he starts to cry and swears to pay it back quickly.

Julieta is very pale and nauseous during breakfast but she tells Leonor it’s just nerves because of a big test coming up. (Uh oh...)

Don G and Bigger Brother plan to take Vicky to the hospital since she hasn’t gotten better. VVV suddenly feels up to getting out of bed. She leans on Don G’s shoulder and shuffles out of the room. Bigger Brother salivates over the prospect of VVV cooking again.

Ale tells Susana about Jorge’s impending fight to the death with Quintana while Marco tells Chavez about Ale taking over the hacienda. Chavez thinks they might be able to get out of it with Carmela’s help. Marco wants nothing to do with Carmela but Chavez says a debt to her would be way better than 20 years in jail.

Rafa kicks off the morning meeting by sarcastically greeting Marino, who finally decided to join them. Rafa tries to shut the door but runs into Ale. She’s in a snit because he started the meeting without her but Ale decides not to argue about it since it’s going to be the last one she ever does.

Quintana visits Rosario at home but she promises they are going to solve the problem once and for all. Jorge is on the phone getting fighting tips when Rosario tells Jorge they have a guest. Jorge is none too excited to see Quintana in his house.

Avances: Ale eavesdrops on Rafa during a phone call with Marian and Ale flirts with Marco while Rafa seethes in his office.

El Clon, Fri., June 18 - Summary and discussion

Alej brings Nati home to mama Gloria and she isn't happy, baby.

She demands to speak to Alej alone. Pablo tells Nati not to worry. He says, Gloria parece ácido como un limón, pero ella tiene un corazón de azúcar - 'Gloria seems acid like a lemon but she has a heart of sugar'. Alej tells Gloria that Nati is the love of his life and she capitulates. A lo que no tiene remedio, remediado está - 'That which has no remedy, is the remedy' or we would say, 'what can't be cured must be endured'. Gloria comes out and and hugs Nati. Nati is introduced to the gang.

Ali tells Jade that she may escape being whipped in this world but no one escapes the scourge of Allah and he indicates that her scourge may be losing Jadiya.

Jadiya interrupts Said giving some jewelry to Rania. She insists on Jade getting her share and on Said giving it to Jade personally and kissing her. Rania is furious.

Andrea, apparently with Nati's permission, gives Marisa Nati's new address.

Catfight at Gloria's; the sKanK and Diana. Enough said.

Abdul tells the servants at Ali's house about the evils of Western life. He says that he is going to rescue Mohamed by getting him a second wife without Latifa's knowledge.

Albieri tells Luisa that he has appointment at a lab before he goes to work. Since he is obviously lying, she decides to follow him.

Daniel asks Dora what she knows about Albieri's godson, Diego. She tells him how Diego died and that Albieri sometimes called him Diego. Dora has mysterious stomach pains (the kind that might result in her needing a blood transfusion, which would end up showing that Daniel is not her child?). She says that it's nothing just amoebas????? (What could she mean? Amoebic dysentery? That's serious.)

Daniel asks if he looks like Diego. Dora replies that Cristina thought that as a child Daniel resembled someone but she couldn't put her finger on it but he reminded her of her trip to Morocco.

Luisa is following about 10 feet behind Albieri's cab and this is especially noticeable since there is no other traffic.

Lucas and Leo are not in favor of cutting off all support for Nati but Marisa insists that is the only way to bring her home.

Clara is so intent on telling Carolina about the outrages of Escobar that she doesn't answer the phone at work. Meanwhile Enrique shows up at work drunk and asks Carolina if she'd mind if he took Said's sister as his second wife.

The cabbie tells Albieri that they are being followed. Albieri refuses to tell Luisa what is going on and insists on going to the lab.

Rosa waits for Nati at school and gives her her savings.

And old friend of Albieri's, a priest named Andres [this actor specializes in priests - I've seen him play a priest on at least two novelas, Doña Bárbara and Pasión de Gavilanes. He did play a bad guy on La Tormenta, though.] The Padre can see that Albieri is troubled and when Dora shows up at the lab, he realizes that there are a lot of complications in Albieri's life. Albieri is tempted to confess. He tells the priest that he will call him.

Nati takes Rosa to the apartment. Rosa asks if Nati is happy and she replies that is much happier than she was in her house.

Lucas tells Rosa how much he admires his daughter who is fighting for her happiness the way that Lucas never did. He says that he will support his daughter.

When Said comes home, Jadiya puts a plan into action. She puts something (it looks like orange juice) on Said's jacket without him being aware of it. When Said goes to Rania, she finds the stain and offers to clean it. Said leaves and goes to see Jade. Said asks Jade to dance for him. Jade agrees provided he lets her go out of the house. Said agrees that she can go out as long as it is with him. Rania is devastated.

The credits roll.

Corazon Salvaje June 17, Juan, don't fprget to burn her nun clothes

Regina all pretty and refreshed is out on the deck, shyly alternating between watching the view out there and the view next to her. She thanks Juan for all the things he got her. He makes a crack about her robes calling them “trapos” (rags), and I couldn’t agree more. “How pretty you look like that.” Yes she does and she remarks on how comfortable it is too so I’m guessing the corset isn’t that bad.

He mentions Renato, looking for confrontation, obviously. He cannot have a nice conversation without ruining it and Regina tells him so. Didn’t he just ask her not to say anything to not ruin the moment and he goes ahead and does it. Silly man. Curtly she bids him good night and turns away. Juan starts arguing with God, telling him she is a Montes de Oca and just like her sister. Yes and you are a hard headed moron.

Poor Gabriel is walking all decked out in his tuxedo, morosely beating himself over the head with Jimena’s latest revelation. Jimena runs after him in the dark alleyway screaming sorry. He is bitter, asking her if she’s going to tell him how much she enjoyed his suffering. Well, that’s a bit much. She does look so much like Lulu right now. “I’ve been such an idiot in love and I didn’t see what was in front of me.” “My intention was never to betray you.” “Well, you did. I never want to see you again.” Oh crap. She claims to love him but he tells her he never wants to see her again. Poignantly the background song says, “You are not the person that I believed you to be, that I thought that you were, that I trusted…”

In the meantime at De Marin’s house Leo complains about how rude it was for Jimena and Gabriel to argue in front of them. What a snotty uppity mummy. Noel loudly proclaims she only speaks like that because she doesn’t understand matters of the heart. Haha. Mariella materializes at the door agrees -not with his assessment of Leo, although I’m sure everyone does- but about love. They are introduced. Wheeeee, Noel and Mariella sitting on a tree. “I suppose you are not only a defender of love but also of the law.” Yip, yip, hooray. He kisses her hand and she looks down demurely. I was wondering about these two. Leo looks disgusted and I couldn’t be happier.

Emo, heartbroken Gabriel cries and sits under the rain in the caves of sin. “Why did you lie to me Jimena. Why?” He is also barefoot but didn’t take off his several coats. Ooook.

Jimena changed out of her blanco clothes and is weeping. “Why didn’t you listen to me Gabriel.” They have kisses flashbacks, including the ones with Estrella. She bids him farewell. “I am nothing much but a damned gitana. I must live with my people, like it or not.” Ugh. Stupid decision. Please don’t do that.

Regina contemplates the fact Juan has got something that really affects her. Teheee… Colibri chooses that moment to barge in jumping and singing, charming her pants off. He asks her if she needs anything and she requests him tell her where they are going. He says he doesn’t know and that it doesn’t matter because they trust him with their lives. Regina looks shocked and then smiles.

Noel is back home and Renato is smoking and drinking. “You cannot and should not continue with this attitude and behavior.” Well, duh. “You are just filling your soul with resentment, hate.”

Aimee wonders if Regina is now enjoying Juan’s caresses and kisses. She grabs pillows and throws them around in a rage. “You are mine Juan, only mine.” Then maybe you should have been a bit less of an opportunistic ho.

Regina wonders, why do you trust Juan so much? Juan irrupts worried about Colibri because he couldn’t find him. Colibri says he was with his capitana. Awww too cute. Juan smiels despite himself.

Renato says he has no motivation to be happy or in peace. Poor guy. Noel, speaking from bitter experience, tells him that his son (or daughter?) needs to be a sign from God to change. Renato says he had always dreamed of this moment, having a son, but now it has all changed. I even decorated the room for our firstborn. “You most of anyone know of my life with your mother. But I gathered strength from your birth.” Awww. There’s a tender but extremely depressing moment between father and son. This is so sad and Renato showed me a glimmer of the man he used to be.

Luzbel, Juan is taking off his shirt in their room. Regina is outraged. “What are you doing?” What does it look like Regina, teheee. Shirtless he puts down the curtains and keeps undressing, but his shadow is clearly seen through the thin barrier. Might as well be no barrier. It’s probably even sexier this way. She is holding up her shawl to her eyes but peaking ever so often.

“Jeez, every time I want to change I need to think about changing on this side.” Haha. “Where are we going?” Regina asks. “Everywhere and anywhere.” He asks her if he likes her life as a sailor’s wife. They argue about not really being married. She wants to stay at the first Puerto. She trips and he holds her up. They are looking so cute with matching headbands. Hehe. He gets serious and tells her that he is sorry she is paying for everyone else’s errors. I’m telling you, BIPOLAR!

Jimena is back at the camp, the little idiot. Zalma lets her know Branco is mad at her. Duh! Zalma pretends to be concerned for her but Jimena won’t have it. She says she isn’t afraid of anything. Why couldn’t she stay with Mariella? Does she think she will be allowed back and forth now that she is back? Salma turns around to leave but Jimena stops her. “How exactly could you help me?” Oh you stupid girl.

A bandaged Rosenda is pleading to Clemencia: “You told me we worked in the same house. Tell me who is the father of my child. Please.” Clemencia and Marlene don’t tell her saying she needs to wait until she remembers. Let’s hope she never does.

Rod shows up at the casino and Floppy is taken aback. “How strange that you are back.” “Why is it strange? I am a client like any other.” I guess he doesn’t know he has his money back now. Fifi asks him why did he let Rod in. “What did you expect me to do, to kick him out? Impossible. Be careful you specially. You never know what he is capable of.”

Renato, the poor dear, gets up from his drinking spot. What is he going to do now>

Dumb cheating wife is trying to appease Fulgencio’s new suspicions and it’s just making it worse. “How can you ever think, just because of what that gypsy said, that I would ever betray you!” She is almost trembling. Fulgencio grabs her. “I would never doubt you.” He wonders, “Why did she mention the weapons, I am sure Servando mentioned something.” Oh crap, he doesn’t believe in fortune telling lol.

Zalma invites Jimena over to her tent and she is suspicious. Just as she is saying she can probably expect anything form her, she is grabbed from behind and a cloth is put over her mouth and nose. Griselda and Zalma stand over her as she’s passed out on the floor. Zalma pays her and Griselda promises she will take Jimena to sell her in another town and will throw her clothes into the river so it looks like she drowned. Charming “aunt”.

Doctorcito and Marlene chat about Regina’s return to health and the possibility of Rosenda getting back her memories. He sends her to bed while he “looks after her”.

At the casino Fed approaches Rod and apologizes to him. “You lied to me. You wanted to get married to Regina only for your inheritance.” Awww, because you are such an innocent little dove and you never told a lie.

Oh my goodness, Renato enters the casino and is already drunk while ordering yet more liquor. Foppy tries to stop him from getting more and gets mocked. He is running around being ridiculous. It’s hilarious. He enrages some poker players and goes up to thee stage to dance with the girls. He punches Foppy out when he tries to get him off the stage. Poor guy is always getting the bad end of the stick in that casino. Rod orders him to go home.

Back in Luzbel they are sailing north. They are stopping at Saba Island and this seems to be a good thing. Regina is wearing another lovely outfit, this time with a black corset and a white veil. She looks even prettier than last night. Colibri informs her that they are going to stop at the island. She asks him to send a letter to her and he looks hesitant.

Woody wakes up Renato and scolds him. He opens all the curtains and orders him to get downstairs to talk.

Regina is writing a letter to Clemencia. She informs her that Juan has treated her with respect and that she is well. She sends her all her love. Sweet and short. She hands it to Colibri. “Please don’t let no one see it.” “Yes my capitana.” How cute is Colibri.

Juan is shaving with a knife, everyone is getting ready. Colibri hides the letter so well Juan sees it right away. Juan is curious about who the letter is for. He thinks it’s for Renato so he can come rescue her. “She’s just like her sister.” What’s up with this whole he’s just like her sister thing.

Renato is dressed and combed and has a hell of a hangover. Woody scolds and nags. “What do you need to return to the guy you used to be?” “My soul is rendered asunder by hate, betrayal. I want to destroy Juan.” Of course Rod wants to help him out.

Renato and Rodrigo come to the alguacil to try and accuse Juan of anything. However, doctorcito sent a telegram stating how well Regina is doing so there is nothing to do for now.

Regina and Juan meet up in the deck. She tells him that she understands him, that he’s suffered so much. “I want to return to the convent, please let me go.” He drags her to a mirror and tells her how pretty she looks as a regular woman, not a nun. “I want you to be free, not locked up in that horrible place. I would even say you are more beautiful than your sister. I just want you to live, I promise you I won’t do anything to you.” Then he asks her if its Renato she can’t live without and she swallows.

Dinero #135- 6/17/10: Jorge Doesn’t Listen to Dead People and Marian Knows the Power of the Tanga

From yesterday: Ale slyly asks Susana about Rafa’s donde-abouts and then sarcastically says she hopes he’s enjoying his time with the beautiful Marian Celeste. Said beautiful lady is wrapping up tough negotiations with Rafa on her used trucks. Rafa calculates they’re worth up to 1 million pesos. Marian is cool with selling them to Rafa for 800,000, and Rafa can keep the difference if he can sell them for the full value. Rafa could get a loan. Nope. Not happening. He’s having enough trouble trying to get a loan to take care of another huge debt he has. Marian is moved enough to let him have the trucks for 750,000. Even more money Rafa can pocket if he somehow manages to buy all the trucks himself or to find a buyer to do so. Rafa agrees. Marian wants to top things off with some tequila. “Bottoms up!”

Tonight: The small half of the Brothers Grimm argues with his papa Don Gaston about possibly giving Rafa a loan. BG doesn’t like the idea at all, and thinks his bigger half will feel even more strongly about it. Don G’s also not jumping to part with his money. He knows Rafa is good for it, but he would also require another serious commitment (we know he means Vicky).

Back at the Fiesta de los Meurtos (aka Hernan’s B-day Bash at the Old Folks’ Home), Rosario is the belle of the ball. This wouldn’t require much more than having a full set of teeth, but Rosario’s also got a nice set of legs (and boobs) and is a good 10-20 years younger than most of the other guests. One of them (Antonio) appreciates her assets so much that he wants her to do a little turn for him. She politely refuses, but they reminisce about old times partying at the Hacienda Alejandra. Ah, the parties Jorge and his esposa used to throw! Quintana doesn’t remember them. Well, that’s because he wasn’t invited. Why? Because Jorge knew what a womanizer he was and kept him away from his beloved womenfolk (wife and sis).

Quintana decides to get Rosario away from this talk of his womanizing days and from the lecherous glances of his amigos, and takes her to the dance floor. Rosario wants to go home, but Quintana wants an answer to his pending question first.

While Rosario thinks over her answer, Jorge is working himself up into a state of worry about her whereabouts. He’s ready to call the cops, but accidentally calls the firemen (bomberos). Before he manages to actually call the police, Asucena fesses up and tells him Rosario went to Hernan’s party. “But he’s dead.” Jorge is slow to catch on that Hernan is still alive and having birthdays, but he’s very quick to realize that Rosario must be with Quintana. He sends Asucena away and then decides to go rescue his baby sis from the clutches of that scoundrel. Jorge to the rescue!

Jorge’s gearing up to bring some drama, but Marian’s trying to get Rafa to relax and unwind. She loves his white socks (calcetines). Her body language (leaning towards him and stroking his arm) says she loves more than just his socks. Rafa’s got too many things on his mind to notice. He calls Susana to get the day’s sales reports. In the background Susana can hear Marian’s happy clinking of tequila shot glasses and her seductive voice asking if he wants something else to drink. Susana hangs up quickly before she hears any more. Marian then asks Rafa if he was checking in with Alejandra. She is sure that what has him so preoccupied is Ale (she’s right), and says it’s obvious that there’s something between them (right again). She brings up Ale’s showing up at her Cuernavaca home as a sign that Ale was marking her territory- declaring that Rafa was HER man. “If only you could have seen the look of hate she gave me.” Rafa insists Ale doesn’t hate her, it’s just that a beautiful, successful woman like her brings out strong emotions in men and women alike. Marian asks him point blank if he and Ale had a romance. Rafa bobs and weaves and avoids answering the question. Marian doesn’t push the subject, and tells him he can count on her unconditionally. She then suddenly remembers that she has a party at her house that evening and insists that Rafa come. They’ll have a super time! (“Vamos a pasar bomba!”) Rafa can’t refuse.

Quintana reminds Rosario that, “I’m waiting for the most important answer of my life.” And she bobs and weaves and avoids answering like Rafa. But Quintana insists on an answer. He lays it on thick. “Quiero morir a tu lado.” (I want to die by your side.) Man, he’s good. If I didn’t know he’s a rat bastard, I would be so happy for Rosario right now. They dance cheek to cheek and Rosario gets tears in her eyes at Quintana’s beautiful words. She says Jorge would never accept it. “No me importa lo que piensa Jorge. Me importa lo que piensas tu.” (It’s not important to me what Jorge thinks. What’s matters to me is what YOU think.) Rosario can’t resist any longer. She looks up at him with love in her eyes and says, “Si Manrique. Quiero estar contigo, hasta los últimos de mis días.” (I want to be with you until my last days.) They seal it with a sweet kiss, while still dancing.

Suddenly they’re surrounded a half dozen proxy Jorges, warning him to take his grubby womanizing paws off innocent Rosario. They’re ready to deliver a geriatric beatdown, if necessary. Quintana calms them down by announcing that he and Rosario are now novios. This gets applause and calls for champagne.

Over at Siglo, the sales team is having a far less exciting time than the folks at the Fiesta de los Muertos. It’s the end of the day, things are winding down, and the team argues about who’s going to answer Ramirez’s incessantly ringing phone. Marino finally does, and is about to hang up on the person who seems to be having trouble pronouncing Ramirez when Ramirez comes running up. Turns out it’s Michel, a French book editor who’s interested in publishing all of Ramirez’s books (no, really). Ramirez is meeting him this evening, and he’s going to blow off seeing one of Marino’s women on his behalf. (Yay Ramirez! He took Ale’s advice.) The General and Rosaura take home the goody bag of fancy food her husband sent her (I am sure they will think of the poor as they eat their caviar). And Dandy and his nonicita try to get info out of the other about Rafa and Ale respectively, but they both keep their mouths shut. Let’s hope, not for long. Susana bids Ale goodnight and orders her to rest, not think, and get rid of the bad vibes.

Back at la fiesta, Jorge has somehow managed to find Hernan’s house! He arrives looking like a Mafioso- dark glasses; black trench coat; black leather gloves; grey fedora. I’m intimidated, and so is Quintana when Jorge lets loose a number of choice insults which all basically amount to calling him a womanizing scum bucket. “Our Alvarez del Castillo ancestors are rolling in their graves.” He takes off one of his gloves, slaps Quintana across the face with it, challenging (retando from the verb retar) him to a duel (duélo), tomorrow, in the local gym (if only he can remember where it is).

The rest of the party-goers object. How could Jorge challenge one of his friends? “He’s no friend of mine! He dared put his filthy hands on my sister’s immaculate body.” Rosario’s shocked and Quintana objects. “That’s not true!” “Are you saying her body’s not immaculate?” Quintana is speechless. Jorge turns to Rosario and her cleavage and barks, “Tú, tapate!” (Cover yourself up.)

Jorge’s not done (all his neurons are firing tonight). He starts bring up Quintana’s long history of being a heartless womanizer. “Remember when you seduced Cecelia?” “That was you who seduced Cecelia, Jorge. You dumped her when you met your wife” “Oh yeah, so it was.”

“Well, you seduced Mariela!” This causes one of the old guys, Ignacio, to have a near heart attack and to need an oxygen tank. “No, not YOUR Mariela, Ignacio.” Jorge then provides a long list of Quintana’s conquests, which he doesn’t deny. (Run Rosario!) He ends the conversation by slapping Quintana again with his glove, and tells him that they will meet tomorrow, face to face (frente a frente). Uh, wait. Quintana has an appointment with his proctologist tomorrow. No can do. Antonio then speaks up and says you can’t prepare for a duel in only one day. They need time to train, to build their muscles. Jorge agrees. Plus it will give him more time to find that darn gym. He slaps Quintana twice more (once on each cheek) and makes his exit dragging his baby sis. Hernan tries to get him to stay and relax awhile, but Jorge declares that he doesn’t listen to dead people. Lol!

Over at Marian’s Casa, she’s trying on some party dresses in her palacious walk-in closet and chatting about Rafa with her maid Lupita. “He’s the kind of man you don’t find anymore. He’s respectful; a gentleman. I’m going to do what it takes to conquer him and it will take more than a pretty dress to do so. Bring me my bikini!”

Ale has arrived home before Jorge and Rosario and is greeted by Marco. She informs him that she gave her resignation at Siglo. (Impactado Marco) “Qué!” Without a recommendation from Beltran, she won’t be able to get a job in car sales in Mexico. Maybe she should go back to Boston? (He REALLY wants her far away from Rafa.) Anyway, Marco assures her, he’ll always be there to take care of her and her family.

Thanks but no thanks. Ale’s got another plan. “I want to work for myself and my family. I’m going to dedicate myself to the administration of the hacienda.” (Impactado Marco) “Qué! You don’t know anything about administering a hacienda.” “No, but the hacienda’s my patrimonio (inheritance). And I have a Business Administration degree.” Marco accuses Ale of doubting his abilities. Ale tells him it’s not him she doubts, it’s that dastardly Chavez. Plus, Marco is a lawyer, not an administrator (silly rabbit).

He tries a new tactic. He tells Ale how dangerous it would be for her on the roads, driving back and forth to the hacienda everyday. “No Marco (silly rabbit). I would live at the hacienda. With my papa and tía.” (Impactado Marco) “Qué!!!!!”

Tomorrow: Marian and Rafa have a good time at her pool party. Rafa asks for a sign from God that he should set his sights on Marian as a way to forget Ale. He gets that sign in the form of Marian strutting her shapely stuff in a thong (tanga) bikini alongside the pool. Yowza! Marco remembers all his crazy times in the pool at the hacienda and all the damage he and Chavez have done to the place. Will he finally get busted?
