New Telenovela: A Que No Me Dejas, Starts Monday, September 12, 2pm/1c. Synopsis And Cast

Looneyvision has finally deigned to air “A Que No Me Dejas” (“I Dare You To Leave Me”), the 2015 novela acclaimed by critics and audiences alike, in Mexico and the rest of Latin America.

“A Que No Me Dejas” was the biggest winner at Premios TVyNovelas 2016. It scooped up best script and/or adaption, best direction, best cinematography, best musical theme, best veteran actress and actor for Leticia Calderón and Arturo Peniche respectively, best female antagonist for Laura Carmine and, dare I say, it should have received the best male protagonist prize too, because Osvaldo Benavides deserved it heaps more than any other nominee in that category. The same producer, Carlos Moreno Laguillo, and the same writing duo, Martha Carrillo and Cristina García, that gave us such gems as “Amor Bravío”, “Quiero Amarte” and “En Nombre del Amor”, now bring us this remake of Carla Estrada’s “Amor en Silencio” (1988).

“A Que No Me Dejas” boasts a stellar cast comprising Camila Sodi, Osvaldo Benavides, Leticia Calderón, Arturo Peniche, Laura Carmine, Cecilia Gabriela, Alfredo Adame, Alejandra Barros, Alfonso Dosal, Odiseo Bichir, Erika Buenfil, César Évora, Moisés Arizmendi, Lisset and Salvador Zerboni, among others.

Synopsis

This is the the story of Paulina Murat (Camila Sodi) and Adrián Olmedo (Osvaldo Benavides), a couple whose love is challenged by the old grudges, bad intentions and misunderstandings that their two families have fostered towards one other for years.

Paulina is the daughter of Gonzalo Murat (Arturo Peniche) a wealthy hotelier who finds that Adrián is beneath the Murats station. Adrián’s older sister, Julieta (Alejandra Barros), also disagrees with the relationship between her brother and Paulina, specially since she considers Gonzalo Murat to be the murderer of their father. Moreover, Paulina’s older sister, Nuria (Laura Carmine), opposes the relationship for her own reasons, mainly motivated by the jealousy she feels towards the sister she thinks everyone prefers over her.

It seems that Gonzalo does indeed have a dark past and leads a double life that neither his noble and supportive wife Inés (Leticia Calderón), nor his two daughters, Paulina and Nuria, know anything about.

In spite of all the obstacles, the secrets, the betrayals, the scheming, the envy, the greed and the rancor that separate them, Paulina and Adrián are determined to fight for their love. They are helped by Camilo Fonseca (Alfonso Dosal), Paulina’s friend and secret admirer, who also happens to be the only son of the Murats’ closest friends and business associates, Alfonso Fonseca (Alfredo Adame) and his wife Raquel (Cecilia Gabriela).

For narrative reasons, the story is told over two seasons of 71 episodes each. Erika Buenfil, César Évora, Martha Julia, Maya Mishalska, Juan Pablo Gil, Ela Velden, Brandon Peniche, Jade Fraser and newcomer Ignacio Casano join the cast in Season 2.

Translation of the Musical Theme

“A Que No Me Dejas” by Alejandro Sanz feat.

We used to be what we used to be yesterday, and what we’ll be tomorrow
We are the ones that said “I’ll stay if you stay”
We used to be the ones who stayed under the table
We are the ones who, in guise of dessert, twirled in the door
We were the first ones that loved so much that we turned blind
The ones that made an eternal memory out of a (street) corner
We were the ones that used to beg for the whole world to burst
We’ll survive, we’ve lived our dream
I am the time that you and I shared
Now (I dare you to) tell me that if you leave we won’t both lose

And I dare you to leave me
I bet that I can make you fall in love with me again before you reach the door
I dare you to... I dare you to leave me
I bet that I can make you remember and teach you to forget
I dare you to leave me. I bet that I can make the walls of your heartache fall
I bet you that the moment I kiss you, you will give in without even realizing
If you want, we can make a bet, my love

We will be whatever you want us to be
I am whatever you wish, throw it all (the blame) in my face
I am also the one who caresses you in the mornings
I am the one who loves you, the one who provokes your desire and the lack of it
I am the one who counts you eyelashes
I am the one who cover you up when you’re asleep and you get cold
I am the one who sails against the wind
Now (I dare you to) tell me that if you leave we won’t both lose

But I dare you to leave me
I bet that I can make you fall in love with me again before you reach the door
I dare you to... I dare you to leave me
I bet that I can make you remember and teach you to forget
I dare you to leave me. I bet that I can make the walls of your heartache fall
I bet you that the moment I kiss you, you will give in without even realizing
It doesn’t matter because both of us have already lost

And I dare you to leave me
I bet that I can make you fall in love with me again before you reach the door
I dare you to... I dare you to leave me
It doesn’t matter because both of us have already lost
I dare you to leave me. I bet that I can make the walls of your heartache fall
I bet you that the moment I kiss you, you will give in without even realizing
Bet on it, my love, bet me

I dare you to dream of me
I’ll tell you this 43 times: I dare you to dream of me
I bet that I will kiss you and you will surrender, (I bet you that) you can’t forget me, my love
But things are the way they are
I dare you to leave me
Even if you want to, girl, you won’t leave me
Because we have memories to fill (the void of) the pains
If you want, we can bet on it, my love
We’ll bet that you won’t leave me

There are plenty of chairs at the new AQNMD Patio, so please do join us to watch together this beautiful and beautifully-executed story!

Comments:

Hello, everyone! I tried to add the videos of the trailers but my internet is too slow at the moment. I shall try again later. I didn't want to link up to a Youtube video of the trailers because you are bound to encounter many spoilers in the sideline bar of Youtube. I also kept the synopsis to the bare minimum because the many summaries I squinted through seemed rife with spoilers and I prefer to know as little as possible so as not to spoil my fun as a first-time viewer.

I hope you'll be able to watch this novela with us. I cannot recap this one on my own, so please come forward in the comment section if you are able to help out. Many thanks!

Enjoy the synopsis and the rest of your weekend! Catch ya later! :)

This is not showing up on my Univision guide for Wednesday Sept. 7. They've still got Amor de Barrio listed.

Nandicta, just from the words of that song, I wouldn't leave him. If she does I'll step in and made him forget her. The same people that did "quiero amarte" did this. I still have their theme song In my phone, yeah I really do. Im gonna like this one. Bring it!!!!!!

Thanks Ms Nan. :-)

OK, friends, two trailers have been added in video format to the synopsis page. I hope they're working.

JudyB, Univision has only added AQNMD to its novela line-up on their website today, even though online TV guides have had it on for several weeks and people have been complaining on Uninovelas Facebook page about the time slot they assigned to AQNMD, for at least two weeks. I can't believe they relegated this show to the afternoons after viewers spent over a year sending requests to Looneyvision to air it. Meanwhile, "La Rosa de Guadalupe" gets to air at 7pm/6c. Shaking my head. My 3-year old nephew organizes his Lego set better than these bozos do their programming.

Nina, glad you'll be onboard! And you're right, this song is a melter! I've been listening to it on a loop since Friday, and yes, I wouldn't leave him! I would melt before I get to the door. That earthy hoarse Flamenco voice will make me come back everytime!

Nandicta- Thanks so much for this post. I didn't even know this was coming, and like.Judy, my tv guide still shows Amor de Barrio in the daytime slot well past the 7th. I'll have to keep checking to be able to catch it and set my dvr to record each day. I'm only going to commit to recapping one tn at a time, so I can't help you out with this one. But I do hope you get some other volunteers.

I have enjoyed all of the Carlos Moreno and Team telenovelas you listed, and another of his- Cuando Me Enamoro. His team does good work, and the actors he chooses are always on top of their game.

Thanks for the post Nandicta.

If anyone plans to watch this, I reccomend not to look up any information online. Not from this nor from the original Amor en Silencio. This is one of those telenovelas where spoilers can make alot of damage.

Jarocha

Nandicta, thank you so much for the information.

I already commented on the Sueno line that I cannot believe this show will be airing in not so prime time. 2:00? Really?

As you noted, it's beyond frustrating that La Rosa de Guadalupe has snatched up a coveted 7:00 slot while this languishes in no man's land. Ack.

I don't have a dvr so I'm not even going to try and catch On Demand. Uni is always too far behind.

So many favorites, Arturo, Leticia and Erika just to name a few. Uni seems determined to wreck havoc with its programming and to ignore the wishes of its most ardent viewers.

Diana

Something very odd happened. I just checked Univision's website and their AQNMD page that I consulted only a few hours ago, minutes before publishing this post, says "próximamente" ("soon") instead of "Premiere September 7 at 2pm/1c". The online TV schedule that I consult is also totally changed, with "Amor de Barrio" (the current 2pm novela) preempted and its finale divided to delay its end. AQNMD is, in turn, shown to premiere on Monday September 12, still at 2pm/1c. Is Looneyvision stalling for time until their programming division rub their five neurons together and decide whether they ought to save their sinking ratings with a novela which was a resounding success up and down Latin America, or continue airing La Rosa de Guadalupe in their pre-horario estelar (pre-primetime slot)? Is it conceivable they read our blog? Did they see this post? Do they know how I feel about them or should I elaborate on it? *Clears throat* Dear Looneyvision, I respect and value you in an amount equal to the respect and consideration you show your viewers. I wish you the same fate you reserved to Yago, except that in your case it would be well-deserved.

Vivi, Jarocha and Diana, many thanks for stopping by. I hope the next days bring news of a time change that does this novela justice and enables as many viewers as possible to tune in. And just as Jarocha pointed out, I can't emphasize enough the importance of avoiding internet and Youtube searches related to AQNMD. When I was looking up info, photos and videos to compile this post, I encountered five major spoilers, in spite of all the squinting I did!

Please stay tuned! :)

Nandicta,
Thanks for all the detailed info on this upcoming novella. I am stuck. I promised myself that I would only watch 1 story at a time, but this one sounds really good. As it is I am watching 3VA and Yago right now. Anyway, it looks really good and if the looney's at Uni change their minds and put it in a primetime slot, where it belongs, I might be persuaded to watch. The one thing holding me back is that the fall schedule is coming up and a lot of my other shows will be coming back.

Thanks again for all the hard work you put into your recaps and summaries. It is greatly appreciated.

Hasta Pronto!

Judy B: Busted out laughing at the last part of your comment!

AuntyAnn, thank you for your kind words. I too have the same dilemma as you, especially now that the summer is over and I don't have as much free time. Thankfully, the shows I'm currently following, "Yago" and "Sueño de Nonsense", are ending very soon. I'll replace them with "El Color de la Pasión" and "A Que No Me Dejas", novelas that finished their run in Mexico 2 years ago and 1 year ago, respectively. The recent productions airing in Univision have not grabbed my attention. I'm waiting on "Mujeres de Negro", also by Carlos Moreno Laguillo and Co, and I might be tempted to watch "Vino El Amor" because it's filmed in a gorgeous vinyard and I think José Alberto Castro usually does a fairly decent job.
Hope the assigned timeslot for AQNMD and you're able to tune in!

Steve, hope you can join us too!

I meant to say: Hope the assigned timeslot for AQNMD *changes

Nandicta: I'll be watching & thinking about DVR'ing "El Color De La Pasion"!

The time slot is a big deal. Univisión seems to be shooting itself in the foot with this scheduling.

Nandicta, thank you for all that you have done to try and bring this wonderful telenovela to everybody's attention.

This is an GREAT novela, everyone! To anybody who may be wavering or sitting on the proverbial fence, put off by the inexcusable mid-afternoon airtime or not enough space on the DVR, TRUST ME! You won't regret your decision if you decide to give it a try. Oh, I hope you guys will be able to find some recappers!! I would love to relive watching this one again through all of you.

I too would like to add my voice to the fray warning everybody to NOT look up anything, about this one (spoilers abound now that it's inital run is finished), OR the original, 'Amor en silencio'. The story was written by Eric Vonn, and Lilian Abud. Eric Vonn is a name that flies under the radar of most telenovela viewers up in the States, but is a name worth noting. Literally EVERY production that was written by Eric Vonn has contained something that could be considered 'ground-breaking', be it a plot device, a character development, a taboo issue or subject matter. NOTHING that Eric Vonn's has written could be said to be a 'typical', 'run-of-the-mill' telenovela. His public profile was probably the highest in the late 80's-early 90's, when he wrote five telenovelas for Televisa in a row that are now considered classics, where he wrote two novelas that are now considered classics of THAT network (including my all-time favorite, 'Pecados ajenos', which was just mass chaos in the best and most fun way imaginable, kinda like 'Reina de corazones' in that way, actually), before moving to Azteca, where he remains to this day (and, on a tangent here, it totally SUCKS that you guys can't access TV Azteca up there... there's been some really great novelas that have come out of that network!) Ayways, one of the hallmarks of his novelas, is that something ALWAYS happens that you NEVER would have thought would happen, and did NOT see coming, and that usually turns the plot on it's ear. This is one of the things that make all of Eric Vonn's novelas so much fun to watch. Well, such is the case with 'Amor en silencio', and as such, of course, with 'A que no me dejas' as well. So, with this novela in particular DON'T DO RESEARCH! JUST ENJOY WATCHING!!

For a little back-story that won't hurt to relate, the original, 'Amor en silencio' was an absolute success in every way when it aired, and is often held up not just as a classic novela, one of the most important ones of the 80's, but as a testament to the genre. It turned Erika Buenfil from a promising young leading actress to a bonifide superstar. It had everything going for it- it was produced by Carla Estrada (who needs no introduction), was written by both the most radical and creative writer in the industry (Vonn), AND the most prolific and experienced (Liliana Abud), and it was directed by Miguel Corcega (a director from the past, who did 'Lazos de amor' and 'El privilegio de amar'), and Monica Miguel (who did 'Amor Real' and 'Alborada'. With such pedigrees on all sides, how could it possible fail? It didn't. 'A que no me dejas' is, of course, the refrito of 'Amor en silencio'. For it to have been declared by critics and viewers an honorable and worthy re-telling is, really, the highest praise imaginable.

So, PLEASE, everybody! Let's get a patio together!! I am, alas, back up in Toronto now (where, of course, I have no access to ANY telenovelas on ANY network, be it Univision, Televisa, Telemundo, OR TV Azteca) and, while I'm aware what with the internet there COULD be a way, I have to acknowledge that with my future plans and schedule so up in the air, there's no way that I could commit to anything (I MIGHT, however, be able to pinch hit for the odd episode in the event of an emergency or anything...).

Anyways, best of luck, and well wishes to all! :-)

(Whoops! Sorry! I left out some text somehow in that last message that renders it confusing to the point of being unintelligible. Where I wrote:

"when he wrote five telenovelas for Televisa in a row that are now considered classics, where he wrote two novelas that are now considered classics of THAT network..."

I SHOULD have written:

"when he wrote five telenovelas for Televisa in a row that are now considered classics, whereIN HE THEN MOVED TO TELEMUNDO AND wrote two novelas that are now considered classics of THAT network..."

Sorry, guys!

hi, Nandicta. You make this novela sound tempting especially since I am in droughtlander waiting for season three of OUtlander in 2017 . However, if it is at 2.00, I will have to record it because I am back to teaching.

Oh! One last thing (I promise!)...

Here's an interesting article about one writer's experience having watched AQNMD (no spoilers revealed!). It's in Spanish, but is well worth a read, especially for anybody who might be sitting on the fence with this one...

http://www.milenio.com/firmas/alvaro_cueva_elpozodelosdeseosreprimidos/dejas_18_563523663.html

Jarifa, you are absolutely right! Looneyvision is determined to undermine itself and allow Telemundo to continue punching it in the gut every night, ratings-wise. Their programming division has made so many consecutive blunders in such a short space of time that I'm tempted to think that the abysmal decision are coming from higher up the chain of command. Because, really, a junior or middle executive would never get away with such a volume of screw-ups. I hope they reconsider their ill-advised decision to relegate AQNMD to the afternoons. They still have just under a week to rectify things. Hopefully, they will.

Stevey, thanks ever so much for the wealth of information you shared with us. I've read many of the TN reviews and próximas news you contributed to Caray Caray and I trust your judgement 100%. Your endorsement for AQNMD makes me even more excited to watch it! Cheers for helping rally the Carayit@s around this new patio. Hopefully, some volunteers will come forward to help recap this novela. I can cover the semana de estreno (the first 5 episodes) by myself but beyond that point, I'm going to need help.

Susanlynn, you're joining us? Oh, goody! I was looking forward to watching another TN with you! :)

Hey guys, there's a lot of people asking for AQNMD to be changed to prime time all over social media. The Color premiere basically came because of all of the requests that were sent over the 2 years they were holding it. It'd be helpful if you guys can write to univision and their accounts on any of their official social media platforms. We have a week and I still have hope for this awesome novela haha.

-Jon

As regards the article that Stevey kindly shared with us, it is full of praise for "A Que No Me Dejas", with 2 points standing out:

1) The writer considers this novela the pinnacle of Carlos Moreno Laguillo's novela-producing career. He commends him for not sleeping on his laurels or playing it safe. Instead of hiring two novela megastars to star in the leading roles, he took a risk by casting two actors with extensive experience in cinema and theater. He hired the best actors for the job as opposed to the most popular ones.

2) The writer believes that, with all the advantages that play in AQNMD's favor, the most impressive thing was the script and adaptation. AQNMD's team of writers brought one of the most popular and cherished novelas of the 1980s to the present. They freshened and embellished it while fully respecting it and conserving its essence.

Hiya, Jon! You were the first one to notify us that Looneyvision was planning on slyly slipping AQNMD into its afternoon novela line-up. Your comment, I believe in the SdA patio if memory serves me right, was the reason I started seaching the online digital TV guides to confirm whether AQNMD was finally coming to the US. Thank you for bringing it to our attention! :)

nandicta...I am looking forward to watching a novela with you. I have missed your wit and wisdom...I can never get enough wit and wisdom in my days.

Gracias Nandicta!

I might watch AQNMD& Mujeres De Negro but I dont count on my time now for recapping them .As far as I can see the coming semester will be a roasting hellfire and the pinnacle of Natural Selection.

I also wanted to watch El Vino&La Candidata but you can't have anything I guess..

Wow! You guys have totally convinced me about AQNMD. I am so excited because i always need to be watching 2 novelas at a time; i was already dreading the fact that Yago is ending and 3x Ana will surely be ending soon---- then i would only be left with Color DLP...which im not so sure of. I just recorded the series on my DVR starting sept 12th. Cant wait! And now ill go listen to theme song since you raved about that. One of my favorite telenovela music themes of all times was "Ahora Tu." Sung by Malu. From Amores Verdaderos

Okay, you talked me into trying this one. I'm currently watching Silvana Sin Lana on T'mundo, so cannot guarantee I've got time for a second telenovela, but I'll definitely give it a go.

I'm totally watching!

You're welcome! :)

Nandicta! My gut and heart led me to check Caray after about six months of not watching any novela or even visiting the site. Your detailed synopsis and trailers as well as the translation of the theme song are like a siren's song pulling me back to Caray! Thank you so much for this wonderful offering. I haven't actually listened to the song but if it's as beautiful as you all say, that may be the clincher! I see many patio friends here, as well! Oh, what fun!

Thanks Nandicta, You make it hard to resist watching this telen, in fact, I can't wait.

It will be first time I watch a novela in daytime. Actually, I plan to record and watch in evening.

Thanks for your time and enthusiasm. I dont take you or other recappers time and talent for granted, We all are so lucky for what you do for us.

Leticia

Susanlynn, I'm glad we're getting to watch two telenovelas together! And they are good ones too. This one started airing at 7:15pm in Mexico, totally under the radar, barely managing to make 12 points in rating in its first weeks. It ended up being the queen of ratings beating the Lichita novela, the star-studded PyP and consistently scoring over 20 points, which is an excellent score in terms of audience in these challenging times where novela-viewing is down to an all-time low. It was also an excellent lead-in for "El Color de la Pasión" in Mexico. I wishe Looneyvision would do the same in the US as well. Ditch La Rosa de Guadalupe to the afternoons where it belongs, the excruciatingly slow "Despertar Contigo" and "Tres Veces Ana" to 7pm and 8pm rspectively, the more fast-paced and better executed "A Que No Me Dejas" and "El Color de la Pasión" at 9pm and 10pm. They are both such excellent shows they'll guarantee Looneyvision's supremacy over Telemundo.

CountxAlacran, I hope you can be persuaded to watch AQNMD with us. Best of luck for the start of academic year! ¡Ánimo! You'll do just fine!

Amotelenovelas, doris, Delilah, I'm so glad myself and other commenters on this thread succeeded in luring you in. The AQNMD Patio will be all the more interesting with your presence!

Lila, welcome back! Once a Carayita, always a Carayita! The AQNMD Patio is delighted to receive you. Please grab a seat and make yourself at home.

Leticia, I'm very happy to see you join us. It'll be fun to hear your perspective on this interesting story. And many thanks for your kind comments. Much appreciated, indeed!

Carayitos and Carayitas, I moved this post up in the main blog page because the show starts next Monday and I still have a one-recapper recap team. I can't cover the show all by myself. The best I can do is provide recaps for the first 5 episodes, which constitute la semana de estreno (the premiere week). After that, I'll recap one night a week and post discussion threads for the other episodes. If anybody is interested in recapping this show, please come forward in the comment section or email me at: nandicta.cc@gmail.com. You have your pick of any night of the week. Thanks.

Nandicta, so sorry that Uni decided to go ahead with their dreadful plan to air this during the afternoon.

This will be another TN I'd love to see but won't be able to.

I am sure those who will be able to watch appreciate your willingness to lead the recapping team.

Diana

Nandicta..I hope to give this one a try on your recommendation, but I will have to DVD it since I am back to teaching. Have you had a chance to watch OUtlander, my recommendation , yet? I think that I know what you like in a story , and I know that you will love this story which is a beloved book series of eight books with the ninth just bring written!!! P.s. I have a student from Morroco in two of my classes!

Nandicta, what are you thinking as far as recapping schedules? Watch then have recap up next day? or same day? I'd like a bit more detail on how you see this one going since its on in the afternoon. I am relying on Hulu for now as I do not have cable and am not sure if we will make the jump back into it. Getting out of comcast was a nightmare and my hubby is not keen on jumping back into it.

Diana, thank you, dear. Perhaps you could follow OnDemand like you are doing with SdA right now. But then again, I understand if you choose not to. Looneyvision took ages to post SdA episodes OnDemand and I get how frustrating it would be to repeat the experience with another show. The decision is totally up to you but do know that you will be sorely missed in this patio. :(

Susanlynn, I think many people will be watching the show in the evening or the next day. As for Outlander, I'm afraid I haven't had a chance to check it out yet but Sueño de Nonsense ends next week and Outlander will swoop in and take its place in my viewing list. I'll let you know how it goes, though I have the certainty that Outlander will become my next TV addiction.

You have a wonderful job where you get to meet people from all over the world and help them acquire the language skills, confidence and positive outlook to start a brand new life in a great country!

Delilah, since most of us will rely on delayed viewing, we will be recapping this the next day, like the rest of the shows on Caray Caray. Any other details we can work out amongst ourselves. If you are interested in recapping this show, you have your pick of any day of the week. Thanks for expressing your interest in potentially joining the AQNMD team. I hope this encourages others to dip their toe in the recapping water. :)

Nandicta et al. Thanks for all of your input. I have not tuned into Caray for a long while. I likely will not comment for lack of time, but I truly appreciate your dedication. I was surprised at the time slot, but I will record. I especially like Oswaldo, and I loved Quiero Amarte. Thanks to all for the spoiler warnings.
Best of luck on this new journey. Hello to Lila!

Hi Nandicta, Thank you so much for the information. I think I will be able to help you out on this one. As you know I am recapping the Wednesday night eps of El Color, so for this one I think I could do Tuesday or Thursday, if that works for you. Feel free to add me to either day. Btw, thank you for all the encouragement and positive responses on my ECDLP recap. I so appreciate the feedback!

Floridia, thank you for your kind wishes.

Delilah, no hay de qué, you are a natural-born recapper and I'm glad you'll be delighting us with your vivid retellings every week! The AQNMD patio is lucky to have you! Welcome aboard! :)

You can pick your preferred day between Tuesday or Thursday. You're the first one to volunteer so you get first dibs. Thanks for volunteering! :)

Floridia, sorry I posted an incomplete comment. I meant to add: Welcome back to Caray Caray! I'm glad you can follow AQNMD with us! :)

Sorry to fellow recappers of other shows and to Caray Caray readers! Qué pena con ustedes, I'm truly sorry but I've decided to move this post up the main blog page again, on the off chance that some volunteers can be persuaded to join the AQNMD recapping team. Well, technically, Delilah and I are a recapping twosome, please join the fun and turn us into a team! :)

I think Mr Eric Vonn works for Azteca, because I saw a few years ago AMOR A DESTIEMPO and God! I considered myself insensible because I had never cried (and I never had after) with a telenovela like I did with that one. Only on the funerals scenes, they were very touching, but I guess that it was also the build up through the whole story that lead me there.

Neither Edith González or Humberto Zurita are in my five favs, but the story was so good that I forgot everything and gave myself up entirely to the feeling.

Maybe I could chip in helping to recap this one, just to see if I can enjoy a genre other than Osorio's. I miss novelas without special and sound effects. I need something serious and recapping helps my brain keep going, I can take it as a mental exercise. What do you say?

Pablo, What do I say? I say woohoo, do a happy dance and celebrate with a glass of Jumex mango juice and a big slab of Lala cheese! Thank you so much for volunteering to recap this show. Our readers are in for a treat! And I agree, it would be nice to watch something where the Televisa Boooing! guy doesn't work! Welcome aboard, amigow! :)

Also, thanks for the info about "Amor a Destiempo". I've added it to my list of must-watch TNs. I heard so many great things about Eric Vonn.

Amor a destiempo is exactly how SUEÑO DE AMOR should have been, if made seriously.

You'll see why when you watch it.

Whaaaat? Are you telling me that Sueño de Horror isn't an original story? Say it isn't so! :D

Amora destiempo, translates more or less like "untimely or late love" and there was two couples, who like Espy and Richy had to part ways and marry different people. When they meet again, their kids fall in love and the grown ups start stirring raw emotions they thought lost. Very interesting. I assure you, everything else is "completely original" jajaja!

Correction> I just googled it and turns out my memory is indeed faulty. The name of the Azteca novela is VIVIR A DESTIEMPO and stars Edith Gonzalez and Humberto Zurita. Sorry for the mislead.

Gracias Nandicta!

Personally I am a fan of Arturo Peniche&Leticia Calderon and would like to watch it but I recently subscribed to Blim which means I can get my fill of Quiero Amarte, Alborada, Corazon Salvaje, La Mentira and El Manatial whenever I want. I had to also buy a VPN but it's worth it! Right now I am watching Quero Amarte, Mujeres De Negro& Sin Rastro de ti ( A new novela of Adriana Louvier &Danila Carrera produced by Silvia Cano).
I have to say that it's quite intriguing and new but also a bit creepy!

I hope that La Otra and the original TVA( I can't remember the name) would also come to Blim. I desperately want to watch those goodies!

Delilah, could you please let me know what night you have opted to recap (Tuesday or Thursday)? I need to know whether you're covering Episode #2 or whether I should post something for that day. (I have family coming over and an important deadline next week, so I must plan ahead). Many thanks

Pablo, don't worry about it. When I googled the title you gave me, I was still directed to the right novela wiki page. ¡Bendito Google!

Countx, Enjoy Blim but remember to consume in moderation now that the new academic year is starting. Good luck!

Good. This is my comment from 2013. Enjoy!

Hi Nandicta I think I will do Thursday if that is alright with you! I'm looking forward to being part of your team!

Thanks for getting back to me, Delilah. Thursday it is! Welcome to the AQNMD team! :)

Crap that's today and I forgot to set my dvr!

Do you still need a recapper?

I lookrd up the English translation for this shows title, I got 2. I goggled it. 1) "I dare you to leave me", & 2) "they do not let me". So did they change when it came to America? enquiring minds want to know, well one mind wants to know. :-)

Carvivlie, that's a bummer! I hope you can catch it later. I'm trying to make the recap as detailed as I can but I can't capture how gorgeous the scenery is. They're filming in the Caribbean side of the state of Quintana Roo (an area called Isla de Mujeres, I think). I'll be going on holiday everyday thanks to this show. Just that is worth the price of admission!

Princess Juju, we still need recappers. We have Tuesday and Wednesday available. Would you be interested in joining us?

Nina, Google Translate was right the first time around. "A Que No Me Dejas" means I dare you to leave me, or alternatively, I bet you that you won't leave.

By the way, today is the premiere of AQNMD and I haven't heard a peep out of Looneyvision. No promos, no announcements, nothing on their Facebook page or Twitter account (Uninovelas). It's like they don't want anyone to find out that they are airing this novela. The page dedicated to AQNMD on Univision's website said the premiere was September 9, then they changed it to "coming soon" then, for the past 4 days, they said September 7 is the premiere, and they still haven't changed it! Who are the bozos running this network and what are they smoking?

Nandicta thank you for your dedication in recapping this novela.

I didnt know they were filmig specifically in Islas Mujeres. Ive been and its as beautiful as it looks on tv. The beaches there are beautiful.

It's a same how univision treats its programming which is why Im so happy Caray caray is always on top of things or the internet guides me. I almost missed Amor de Barrio because all univision announces is Tres Veces Ana and Dormir Contigo.

Nandicta: Looking forward to seeing Jade Fraser as the evil antagonist in this TN!

"Hi" back at ya, Floridia! So good to "see" you!

Lila

Superalfie, thank you for your encouragement! Hope you can follow this novela with us to relive the beautiful holiday you had at this gorgeous region of Mexico.

Steve, thank you. Glad you can join us. Can I ask you a favor? Please kindly refrain from mentioning anything about this novela. Jade Fraser does not join until Season 2 and I would've preferred not to know that she is joining the cast as a villain.

Dear all, in order not to ruin everyone's fun, can we please agree not to mention what we may have encountered about this novela online? Character names or theories about who is whom and what might happen to whom etc etc and any photo or video one of us might have found online is best to be kept out of here. As many commenters warned before, the internet is rife with spoilers so it's best to avoid looking up anything about this novela. And if someone does find something out there beyond what was described in this synopsis or what gets revealed in the episodes we watch, then it is best to keep it to oneself, as a courtesy to everyone else here. Thank you for your cooperation

Nandicta, I wanna try my hand at recapping again...are there any days available? If yes, is it possible to write out the recaps in bullet points? Idk how much time Ill have but bullet points are the easiest.

That's wonderful, Superalfie! You get your pick between Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. And of course, you can recap any way you want. Bullet points are perfectly fine. Anything that works for you really. We are all very grateful for any time you take out of your day to help us recap this show. Please let me know what works for you best.

Id like wednesday. Thanks! I can do Monday if for a while until someone picks it up?

Great, Superalfie! Wednesday it is! Welcome to the AQNMD Team! Please email me at nandicta.cc@gmail.com, that way I have your email address (in case there is a need for substitutes, switches, etc.) I'm waiting on Princess Juju to confirm whether she is interested in taking either Monday or Tuesday. Depending on her answer, we'll see how we get organized for Monday. Cheers for volunteering! :)

Yes, I'm good for Tuesdays!

Thanks for the confirmation, Princess Juju! Thank you for volunteering and welcome aboard!

Isn't this just swell? We have a full recapping team, amigowz!

Monday ---> Nandicta
Tuesday ---> Princess Juju
Wednesday ---> Superalfie
Thursday ---> Delilah
Friday ---> Pablo

I look forward to embarking on this new adventure with all of you! Cheers, everyone for your time, dedication and support!

Blogger is being a colossal jerk. I can't save or publish the recap of the first episode. I've copied in HTML and formatted paragraph by paragraph but Blogger just refuses to save or publish my work. This is hours of work that have to be redone. Sorry but I can't take it anymore. It's past 4 am here and I'm ready to throw my laptop out the window, I'm so frustrated!!! I'll try first thing tomorrow morning. Night!
