The negotiation is underway. The sheik won't sign the contract unless he can have Chela and Candy. They insist that this is perfectly normal in their country and Pancho's got 24 hours to think about it.

Pancho sighs, "I wouldn't even sell Popeye."

Karina tells Freddy that if he isn't more sensitive about Mónica's feelings, he'll lose her forever.

Pancho calls Chela and Candy at home and tells them not to leave the house or even open the door. Of course he doesn't explain why.

Rebe tells Pancho that not all Arabs are like that. She assures him that the investors are being ridiculous and probably weren't serious about wanting to make a deal. Avon should break off the negotiation entirely. If those guys would try to buy human beings, who knows what they might ask for next.

She apologizes to Pancho for saying such mean things about him and his family when they had organized something so nice. She wants to drink to his "success." Pancho accepts her apology but tells her something he overheard his father say once: "Success has many parents, but failure is an orphan." The ugly things Rebeca said made him really feel alone. They need to be able to count on each another in good times as well as the bad. So, thinks they should drink to his first screwup - but that won't be today. After he leaves, she promises herself that he won't be alone.

Pina tells Candy the pole-dancing didn't work out. Candy says Vince doesn't deserve her anyway. Pina invites Candy to be on her radio show tomorrow. (Chela hasn't even done the show yet!)

Fernanda is at the hospital, wondering how it went with the Arab investors. She thinks Rebe should have more faith in Pancho. She asks the doctor to tell her the test results.

Elena texts the King of Douchebags, er, King of Cups that she's dated lotsa guys with girlfriends before. She tells him she's very discreet and she likes the "danger" (of maybe getting caught). He invites her out for a drink. "And then we'll see what else," she replies flirtatiously.

Vince accuses Pina of bad-mouthing him to the dog. She denies it and asks Adoración to back her up. Ado hesitates, but Vince insists. She not only throws Pina under the bus, but does a very enthusiastic impression of her, with lots of BLEEPs. Vince is muy angry at Pina and they argue some more. Two witnesses tell me that Pina said she and Vince haven't had sex since they got married.

Pancho comes home and explains the situation to the family. Candy is into it. She'll be rich! She's fine with sharing the sheik with the other wives. I think Pancho gets 400 camels in the deal, too. But he is having none of it. Candy complains he doesn't care about her. He says he's protecting them. Group hug.

Elena and Freddy at a bar. He says he's reserved a suite at the hotel. Elena is into it! He asks the hotel clerk for his usual room. It's huge. He offers Elena champagne. (She needs more alcohol like I need more hives.)

Pancho chats with BigBoy and Kojak. Kojak is particularly upset about Chela being part of the deal. Again they nag Pancho that she's in love with him. They warn that she might be feeling rejected - what if Candy convinces Chela to go with her to marry the sheik? (Pancho imagines them belly-dancing for the sheik; being cooled by giant feather fans; meeting and shaking hands with the other wives; being regaled with yummy food and exquisite costume jewelry brought by lusciously handsome male servants; and rejoicing that they won't have to care for children any more.)

Chela and Candy argue. Chela is disgusted that Candy would share a man. Candy thinks she is unique and deserves more from life than she can have here. Chela objects to Candy being treated like merchandise. Chela gives lots of reasons why the arrangement would suck, not the least of which is that Chela would miss her.

Karina warns Mónica that Fred knows something's going on with her. Monica calls Freddy to talk about it. He says he's at Alex's house. I notice the hotel room has a very similar layout (in reverse) as Mónica's. Irrelevant, but it caught my eye. He gets rid of Mónica and and hangs up. He makes out with Elena. She's enthusiastic at first, but when he begins to undress her, she wigs out and takes off. Freddy takes it pretty well, all things considered.

Next morning, Pancho gets a call at home from Lambi/Beto. Tranceti and Iracheta are still spending money that isn't theirs. Chela gives him his lunch and sends him on his way.

Candy's on the Pina Opina show. Pina talks about the Catgirl video and introduces Candy, who will soon be working for Avon herself. They're good friends. Candy meows like the Catgirl. Listening in his car, Vince nearly crashes into that hotdog cart he's been dreaming about. Hmmm. Nothin' Freudian about that.

Happy Friday, amgios! I'm strapped for time, so I typed this up as I watched tonight. Feel free to correct it, since I'm sure I missed a few things.

From yesterday: Lazaro canvases the countryside in a car while Karina wanders around on foot screaming his name. Nesme is also hot on the trail. Who is going to find Kari first?Jero makes an appointment with Mari's doctor to be sure the twins are doing well. Nata and Jero confront each other about Agustin's murderous tendencies. Augie ordered Zeke to kill Arely because she destroyed his wine crop.

On to the new stuff! Matilde keeps a bed-ridden Marina company. They discuss the terrifying situation with Karina and Lazaro and eventually get around to talking about Jero. Marina is still hopelessly in love with him. There's no other guy like him in the world.

Nata is still unshaken in her faith in Augie. Augie has proof that he is innocent and Nata believes him. Nata had proof of her innocence when Jero was sure she was La Bonita and Jero disbelieved her. She considers this the same situation. They agree to disagree.

Roberta arrives home and tells Gonzo and Regina that she hopes to get the job at the Empresa. Regi plans to organize the paperwork so that Berta will receive her inheritance since her birthday is coming up soon. "I will be your daughter instead of Fina's." Berta thinks. "All she cares about is herself."

Fina confides in Blanca that she is anxious for her daughter to contact her. Blanca is confused since Berta is not actually her daughter. Fina covers by saying she still considers Berta a daughter and needs Berta's help for escape. She thought-bubbles that Berta has to come around soon.

After much shouting and running, Karina and Lazaro find each other! He scoops her up in a loving embrace just as Doctor PleaseDropDead lines up his shot. Too late! The police catch him just in time. Nesme manages to get off a shot that just grazes our lovely couple. The cops cuff Nesme and he spouts off about getting revenge. Lazaro vows he will protect and love Karina forever. Kari tells Doc that she is not the same woman as before. She hates Doc and will be happy with Lazaro. Doc screeches that he will never allow Kari to be happy as long as he is alive.

The police haul Doc off as Karina and Lazaro observe the damage. Laz has a grazed cheek and Karina has bloodied hands but neither of them feel any pain while in each others' arms. Aww!

After much discussion, Matias and Honorio humor Gonzo and invite Berta to work at the Empresa. In a bit of suspiciously specific denial, Berta swears she is not going to fraud the company.

Augie goes to the cops to clear his name and pin all his crimes on Doc Nesme.

Nata asks Manuela to tell her straight about what she knows about Augie. Manuela thinks he is a dangerous, cold-hearted man. Zeke only stays with Augie because he needs the work so badly. Mati and Manuela confirm Jero's story that Augie wanted Arely dead. They both saw hand-shaped bruises on her neck. Nata is floored by this development and asks that the ladies keep mum on the subject.

Jero interrupts the conversation to deliver the good news that Kari and Laz are safe and sound. Marina's doctor arrives and asks to see Jero's wife. After an awkward silence, Jero introduces Nata as his wife and then shows the Doc to Mari's bedroom.

In the centro kitchen, Ines and Constanza chat with the young mother Corina while Connie holds the baby. Corina's boyfriend was a horrible man who raped and beat her. The ladies' hearts melt for her, Connie especially. She offers to teach Corina how to cook and wants to help her and the baby in any way she can.

Gonzo and Regina plan to get married again in a small civil ceremony. Everyone thinks it's a lovely idea.

The nuthouse doctor tells Blanca and Fina he wants more payment for his services.

Julieta warns Adriana that Chema bought an engagement ring for her and plans to propose at the opening of the restaurant. Adri is conflicted over what to do.

The doctor does an ultra-sound on Marina and orders that she be bedridden for the rest of her pregnancy. It is highly probable that the babies are going to be born premature and Mari needs to take every precaution. Jero says he will hire a round the clock nurse and an ambulance to help them.

Karina and Lazaro finally breathe a collective sigh of relief after they arrive back at the hacienda. They tell everyone about their ordeal and are warmly received.

Doc pleads his pathetic case to the police and they throw the book at him.

Adriana tells Matias about what Chema is planning and she wants to go along with it to make his last days happy. Mat asks Adri what she's going to do if Chema doesn't die. Adri doesn't know and decides to talk to Benjamin about it.

Honorio welcomes German to the Empresa.

Karina has no doubt that she wants to divorce Doc as soon as possible. Everyone agrees with her on that front and they leave to have dinner.

Random aside: I get a kick out of the Cartes a Juan Cheerios commercial. The man has a killer smile.

Back to the show, Augie waltzes into the living room to get in Jero's face. He swears that he is not a murderer or a thief.

Berta asks Regina's opinion on what she should wear for her first day at the Empresa. It's a thinly veiled excuse for Berta to go shopping and spend Regi's money. Regi tells Berta that she want to have the legalities of the inheritance worked out ASAP, which makes Berta nervous.

Jero refuses to back down; he is sure that Augie put the hit out on Nesme and Arely. Augie swears that he is as innocent as Nata was when Jero unfairly accused her. He'll prove it! Jero will not budge on his opinion of Augie.

Matilde and Carlos fiddle around in the laboratory. Because she lives under a rock, Carlos's mother only just heard about Doc's rampage. She decides that the only explanation for such craziness is that the hacienda is cursed. She insists that Carlos and Matilde move out. Carlos tells her to knock it off.

Ines gets back to the centro to find Corina gone and Connie preparing a bottle for the baby. Connie agreed to watch baby Amparo for the night. Ines worries that Corina might not come back. They have no real information about this girl and it's against regulations at the centro to become so involved with their clients. Connie has faith that Corina will return and promises it's only for one night.

Augie juts his jaw and seethes over Jero's nerve in accusing him of trying to have Arely killed. "If Jero knows about that, it must mean that Zeke is a traitor." Run, Zeke, run!!

Avances: Nata and Jero get hot and heavy while Augie and Berta plot their next evil move. Alfonsina screams. Matilde and Manuela cry "I can't believe it! What a tragedy!". Oh, no.

Maripaz tries, Ivan's not having any. Camilo and Lucia marry while Ivan pines. Lucia's daughter is born.

Hacienda Socorro: Lucrazia carries on about what people are saying that the baby was born only 7 months after the wedding and won't have to spend extra time in the hospital for being premature. Carlota doesn't care; she happily announces to the servants that the baby is healthy and beautiful.

Hospital: Camilo calls Antolin to tell him the happy news; Antolin is at the Lomieli house. Antolin congratulates him. When Gerry mentions the baby's size and weight, Antolin comments on her being early. He asks whom she looks like and Carolina says that babies don't look like anyone yet. Gerry just says the baby is pretty.

Casa Galvan: Little Lichita asks about her new cousin as Carmen tries on earrings and Arcelia helps with Lichita's drawing. Someone's priorities need adjustment.

Lucia's Hospital Room: Lucia thanks Camilo and starts to say that the baby is Ivan's, but Camilo stops her. “This subject is not to be mentioned again. This little girl is my daughter and you are my wife. My woman.” He declares his love for her and they decide to name the baby Perla because she is a jewel fallen into their lives. Camilo states she has made him very happy, but Lucia is about to cry as she kisses the baby.

Casa Mondragon: The family talk about Lucia, with Esther commenting on her morals. JJ stops that one by commenting that the child's paternity is of no importance. David mentions that Saul is getting out of the hospital shortly and needs a place to stay. David can't accommodate his needs and leads the charge to get Saul back into the family home. He lets JJ know that people will think very badly of him if he doesn't allow it. Saul still needs three operations and again they will have to browbeat JJ into paying the bill. David will be head of this family at the end.

Commercial Break leading with promo for the Latin Grammys and an announcement that the sponsor is Popeye's Chicken and an ad for their crawfish combo. Wish I had some right now.

Rancho Socorro, just outside the hacienda: Ezekiel runs inside to announce that Lucia and the baby are home. Lucrazia and Carlota come out to make a fuss over the baby. As they go into Lucia's bedroom Carlota shows off the cradle and other stuff Camilo bought. Lucrazia starts talking about the baptism, but Lucia just wants to rest. Wise girl.

McGuire Mansion: At Ivan's suggestion, Alex calls Gerry to invite him and Carolina on a vacation with them. Gerry has a lot of work, so he doesn't think he can go. Both he and Carolina are still keeping mum about Lucia and Alex ends the conversation in tears. Tony theorizes that Lucia doesn't want anything to do with them anymore because of her pain and that they must respect that.

LA Restaurant: Merry Piece has been gambling, but Julie comments on why she doesn't bring her husband. Merry Piece says he's always working and he's a bore. Julie considers it strange that they haven't met him and why won't MP bring him to dine with them. Merry Piece continues to refuse. Tacky bitch. But Julie is looking suspish. And Bob thinks this is so rich.

Hacienda Socorro, night:L Perla wakes up crying to be fed, interrupting Camilo's attempt at getting amorous. Camilo gets up to rock the baby. Husbands like this don't grow on trees, Lucia.

Hacienda Socorro, morning on the porch: Lucia's friend comes over with gifts. She asks her why David married Merry Piece. Lucia isn't sure other than MP wanted to marry money because David was always so shy with girls. When that didn't work MP later went after Ivan again. Her friend says that things get better all the time with David. Lucia is happy for that. She finally explains that Camilo is a good man and she is content.

But we know that won't last. What will not only last but escalate is our collective hatred of Merry Piece. You have been warned about the next scene.

McGuire Mansion, various rooms: Merry Piece is clearly making a date with Bob on her cell phone as she comes down the stairs. As she hangs up she sees Alex. .

MP (yelling): What are you doing? Listening?
Alex: No. Grandpa went to a business lunch and I was playing.
MP: Did you hear anything I was saying on the cell phone?
Alex: Yes. You are meeting someone at 5 and said “kiss.”
MP (grabbing him by the right arm and left ear): If you open your mouth about this I will leave you [rest is unintelligible but probably horrible].

Bruno comes running in and barks, scaring the crap out of the bitch. Benito is right behind him.

Benito: Bruno, calm down! (grabs the leash)
MP (looking perfectly demonic): This dog is a dangerous animal. Kill him now!
Benito: Nothing happened, Señora. [something blipped out]
MP: In every way this dog is a menace. I'm going to report this to the authorities so they will kill it. They'll take it away.
Alex: No! No! (Maria enters)
Maria: What happened?
Benito: Nothing, Maria. Bruno barked at the señora.
MP: He frightened me. He frightens me. I will see to it that this beast is removed from this house. (exits back toward staircase)
Alex: No, Benito! No! Bruno only wanted to defend me.
Benito: From what?
Alex: My mother grabbed me by the ear.

Ivan and Tony enter. Alex runs to Ivan.

Alex: Papa! Mother wants to get rid of Bruno.
Ivan: Why?
Tony: What happened?
Benito: Nothing. Only that it looked like la señora was hurting Alex.
Alex: She grabbed me by the ear.

As Tony hugs the child Ivan heads to Merry Piece's room of exile, where she has picked up the phone.

MP: This minute I will call the dogcatcher to get rid of that accursed animal!
Maria: But if he's done nothing –
MP (phone to ear while pointing to the door): Get out of here! (Maria exits as Ivan enters)
Ivan: Who are you calling?
MP: Anyone who can protect me from that damned animal!
Ivan: You aren't going to talk to anybody! (takes the phone away and ends the connexion) You hit my son and it's normal for Bruno to protect him.
MP: I wasn't hitting him, just reproaching him. And I have the right because I'm his mother.
Ivan: And why were you reproaching him?
MP: Because he disobeyed me.
Ivan (grabbing her by the elbow): Come with me.
MP: Leave me alone!
Ivan: You're coming with me! (leads her out of the room)

Tony (to Alex, who is sitting on his lap): Don't worry. Nothing is going to happen to Bruno.

We viewers are certainly hoping he's right.

MP: He's going to be sorry because he left his clothes all over the floor.
Alex: That's not true.
Tony: Therefore, what happened?
Alex: Nothing. Nothing happened. (exits)
Ivan (to MP): As I've said before, you raise a hand to my son I will divorce you immediately.
MP: But I have the right to scold him. [regañar]
Ivan: You have no rights over him because this puts an end to it.
MP: But I don't want that dog to go all over the house –
Tony: If Bruno becomes aggressive it's because he's been provoked. Besides, this is my house and my dog. Punto. (Benito is watching this carefully while petting Bruno)
MP: And then I'll go, but I'm taking my son. (exits. Ivan looks concerned)
Tony: Don't worry. [need help with this one]

Alex's Room: Alex skypes Lucia to tell her about what just happened. Ivan gets into camera view and Lucia asks whether something is wrong. Ivan tells her it's about her sister, as usual. Lucia tells him he will resolve it and cuts off the call. Ivan encourages Alex to tell him the details of what just happened with Maripaz.

Commercial Break We need room to breathe after this. Too bad it's not enough time for a shower.

McGuire Mansion, Tony's office: Ivan tells Tony that Alex overheard Maripaz making a date with someone over the phone. Tony asks whether he suspects that she has a lover because if they can prove that he can divorce her and get full custody of Alex. Ivan tells Tony about how cold Lucia was on the skype. When he leaves Tony's office, Tony calls his secretary to request that she find a private investigator.

Hotel Room: Merry Piece isn't so merry during a lovemaking session that looks like it belongs in a film noir rape scene. Only she is the perp as she is on top and grabby.

Merry Piece: You don't know how much I want to send them all to hell. (forcibly kissing him)
Bob: Why don't you get a divorce?
Merry Piece (grabbing his hair): Get a divorce? And end up with no money? I'm not crazy!
Bob: Whoa, whoa! Why not be prepared? He could be hiring a private investigator to find things out and divorce you, and take away your child. It's better, menos mas.
Merry Piece (grabbing him): No. It's the only thing I have in this damn place.
Bob: Listen to me, listen. I have nothing to lose, but you –
Merry Piece (looking loca): What are you saying? That you don't love me?
Bob: I love [quiero] you. Of course I love you! But...

McGuire Mansion, night: Ivan recalls his relationship with Lucia. Flashbacks to earlier stuff. Zzzzz.

McGuire Mansion. morning: The private eye has an unpleasant encounter with Bruno as he talks to Tony about following Maripaz to get something on her. He gives him a photo and explains he wants information as soon as possible. After he has Benito show him out he talks to Bruno, asking him what it was about this guy he didn't like. He hopes for fast results, but he's interested in finding out anything that will enable Ivan to file for divorce.

Hacienda Socorro, Lucia's bedroom: Camilo brings Lucia breakfast in bed. He tells her he is no longer comfortable working for the McGuire company and wants to resign.

LA Restaurant: Que casualidad. Mike Hammer is a buddy of Bob's and he is looking to bleed Tony for much dinero. Bob says MP is good in bed, but he isn't interested in risk. They seem to agree.

Hacienda Socorro, Lucia's bedroom: Lucia is OK with Camilo resigning from McGuire and Son but doesn't want him to return the land.

Casa Mondragon: Saul comes over on crutches with burn scars all over his neck (and presumably his chest). El Gordo had brought him over. At least his clothes are clean. He kisses up to Esther, but Judith rolls her eyes. She is many times smarter than her mother.

Commercial Break which includes various program promos.

McGuire Mansion: Alex and Ivan talk about el Mar de Cortes. Ivan assures Alex that Merry Piece will not do anything to Bruno [We're getting more worried by the minute]. Alex calls Lucia on Skype. It interrupts her thesis typing and she hangs up, but with a slightly guilty look on her face.

Rancho Socorro: Lucia and Carlota talk about this. Lucia is sure that Ivan logged in to Alex's account to try to talk to her. Carlota tells her it's time he knew that she is married to Camilo. She then tells her that Ivan and Maripaz have a marital relationship in the hope that this kills her feelings for him. Learn to love Camilo because he deserves it.

“God, why did you allow this?” she asks the empty room.
Porque el corazón no se manda, Abuela. Lo sabes muy bien.

McGuire Mansion: At the pool table, Tony talks on the phone to Hercule Poirot. Who tells him there is nothing to report of the nature he's looking for. He's standing in Bob's office. After he hangs up Bob indicates he's tired of Maripaz's drama and suggests that Sam Spade find her another lover. He expresses doubt that he could.

Rancho Socorro: Lucia wants the baby's baptism limited to the family. Lucrazia gives her the same grief as usual:

Lucrazia: I say we should have a reception.
Lucia: No, mother. I want the church ceremony and a family meal, and that's it. Nobody extra.
Carlota: I agree.
Lucrazia: But, this is an important event. If we don't invite anyone they'll all think we are bankrupt. Because ultimately all our stuff will be known by the masses.
Carlota: What do you expect to gain? After all, our condition isn't what it was.
Lucrazia: But neither are we out in the street. Give me one good reason why we shouldn't celebrate as God orders?
Lucia: Because I would prefer a more discreet event. Besides, I don't want people talking about my personal life and my daughter.
Lucrazia: Ah, I know. Your big fear is that Ivan will find something out.
Carlota: It will be a family party. Punto.
Lucrazia: Very well. Who will be the godparents?
Lucia: You, Grandma, Papa, and Señora Arcelia.
Carlota: That ordinary woman? [corriente]
Lucia: Mama, she is my husband's mother, my mother in law, and my daughter's grandmother. She may be humble but she isn't ordinary

The maid comes out to inform Lucia that the baby is awake. Lucia thanks her and exits with her.

Carlota (concerned expression): Now what's up?
Lucrazia (crying): None of my friends can come. They will all despise me because they'll think we've fallen into disgrace. In other days [this wasn't completely clear]. I'm sure everyone will think that Lucia was pregnant on her wedding day.
Carlota: This isn't important to me.
Lucrazia: But it is.
Carlota: Your father Teodoro and I tried to teach you other values but you always stuck with prejudice and gossip. The presumption of class accomplishes nothing. Look at Ivan and Camilo. They came from the lowest classes and now they are successful, respected, admired. How about Juan Jaime Mondragon? Daughter, you need to look this in the eye. Class is in the spirit, not in names or bank accounts.

Carlota, we love you.

Commercial Break starting with the Latin Grammy promo (again)

Iglesia: The baptism takes place. Little Perla is asleep through the whole thing. Camilo is the proud papa. The Lomielis are present, also David with Lucia's friend.

Casa Mondragon: Esther again goes to bat for Saul getting the surgeries that JJ refuses to pay for. She's only the stepmother but she's more of a parent to Saul than JJ ever was. She finally gets the nerve to tell JJ she is going to divorce him. As usual, he thinks she's crazy, saying her head is empty [hueca]; the new explanation is menopause or Alzheimer's. He's some piece of work.

McGuire offices: Camilo tells David he is going to resign. He's sure that Ivan would fire him otherwise once he knows that Camilo is now married to Lucia and he'd rather avoid the confrontation. David doesn't think Ivan would freak because he couldn't expect Lucia to put herself in mothballs, but Camilo is determined.

Scene ends with Camilo calling Tony to deliver his resignation and to recommend that David be appointed to replace him.

Capitulo 69: As the Stomach Turns

Casa McGuire Billiard Room: Alex runs in to tell Tony some good news about school.

Camilo's Office: Ivan calls to find out about why Camilo is resigning. At his insistence that office work isn't for him and that he is a country boy, Ivan doesn't go for it at first.

Lucia's Bedroom: She's working at her computer and is a bit annoyed when Camilo comes in to kiss her. We find out that they don't have much of a sex life and nothing has happened since Perla was born.

McGuire Mansion: Tony and Ivan talk about the trip to Alamos. Ivan doesn't want MP to go because she would only bring pain to Lucia.

Maripaz' Bedroom: She leaves an endless message for Bob about visiting her family and missing him. Get out of denial, Merry Piece; he's just not that into you. She calls Julie saying she wants investment advice from Bob, but Juliet's not believing this.

Casa Galvan: Camilo talks to his mother about his resignation and Ivan's impending arrival. He confides his fear that Lucia's feelings for Ivan will come rushing back when he gets there because Lucia isn't the sort of woman who easily forgets her feelings. She tries to be reassuring and instill some confidence in him. But her expression at the end of the scene tells us she's apprehensive.

Casa Lomieli: Antolin talks about work and earning enough money to buy a apartment or a house. Carolina doesn't trust JJ and doesn't like that Antolin works for him. Dirty money isn't a good thing. She's more right than she knows.

Juliet's Apartment: Bob comes home saying he had an important case. She tells him that Maripaz called to ask about investments [inversiónes] but she knows better. He has apparently cheated on her before and she threatens him with telling her father if he does it again. It looks like he works for her dad and his future could be hostage to his good behavior. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Lucia's Bedroom: Camilo tells Lucia he's sorry and promises not to be jealous anymore. She tells him she loves him (querer) but she knows as well as we do that she doesn't love him as she loved Ivan. She talks about how a real father is the one who cares for a child and her feelings for him are more mature than what she felt for Ivan. He doesn't believe this any more than we do. We also see that Lucia is mostly lying still and thinking of Mexico (or Ivan) during sex. She has a faraway and guilty look afterward.

Rancho Socorro, in the field; morning: Lucrazia complains to a shirtless Camilo about not having her appropriate responsibilities for the crops. He tells her she can take care of the experimental plants if she consults him on insecticides and listens to what he tells her. She tells him OK, but the plants are delicate and it won't be her fault if anything goes wrong. Abdicating responsibilities as usual.

Park: Carolina sits on a bench when a black-clad JJ approaches. You have been warned.

JJ: Que tal, Señorita Carolina.
Carolina: Who is this?
JJ: Juan Jaime Mondragon. We met at Lucia and Camilos wedding. You don't remember?
Carolina: Well, there were so many people.
JJ (checking out her backside): May I sit here? (sits down)
Carolina: If you wish.

As JJ sits down we notice that Carolina pulls her legs further back in discomfort despite the face that he sits a few inches away from her. He stares into the general direction of her lady parts.

JJ : How is Gerardo?
Carolina: Well.
JJ: You have few words.
Carolina (laughing uncomfortably): Well, when I don't know someone I don't know how to talk to them.
JJ (checking her out again and making a gesture of cupping her face without actually touching it, then checking out her back or backside): What are you doing alone in this area away from home?
Carolina: Well, I didn't come here alone. [something about coming there once a week to meet a friend] I used to come here with Alex, Ivan's son.
JJ: Alex, and how is the boy?
Carolina: Well. I miss him very much.
JJ: I understand he was like a son to you and Gerardo,verdad? And we will miss children.
Carolina: Yes.
JJ: I have three children
Carolina: Yes, I know.
JJ: But they are a disaster. Of the three there isn't one [we assume he is referring to their worth]. I had bad luck with them. Despite attention and affection...
Carolina: How sorry that is... (the bastard is still checking out her arse)

Over on Wall Street the stock price of the Acme Barf Bag Company just skyrocketed.

Hacienda Socorro: Lucrazia – while nervously arranging knickknacks and photos – tries to explain the experimental plants to Carlota, complaining that Camilo is trying to prove she is incompetent. When Carlota tries to explain that Camilo is an expert and things are going well with him in charge, Lucrazia leaves the room. Lucia suggests that perhaps she and Camilo should move out because of the conflicts. Carlota doesn't want that; she wants to be near her great-granddaughter. By the gods, her necklace is a cheap version of what she gave to Lucia on her wedding day.

Commercial Break leading with promos for Familia and MQB.

Casa Lomieli: Rosa is apprehensive about Carolina's encounter with JJ and warns her that he is an evil man. Carolina thinks he is sad and lonely but Rosa is too smart to buy that. She also tells Carolina not to mention this encounter to Antolin because Antolin will do something about it she won't like. He has a bad rep because of what happens to people who get into his way. Carolina certainly is ignoring her earlier instincts about JJ.

McGuire Mansion, various rooms: Maripaz chews Bob out on the phone for his distance, finally begging him to be with her. He warns her that they need to be more discreet because her husband could suspect something. Little does she know that Benito overheard part of this and eavesdropped on the rest. He then tells Maria he heard Merry Piece call another man “mi amor” and that MP is cheating on Ivan. They try to decide how to proceed with this information.

Alex has won a math prize, but Tony reminds him that he didn't do so well in English. Alex gets affectionate with Bruno. When Ivan sends the boy up to wash his hands and pack his suitcase, he and Tony discuss the trip. Tony tells Ivan he needs to confiscate MP's passport. He is swapping his ticket for a flight in a couple of days. We hope he plans to take Bruno with him. When Ivan points out that Tony is going to Alamos to see Carlota, Tony tells him that their last conversation was less than amiable because Carlota was angry about what all this did to Lucia. Ivan points out that he is also suffering, that not a day or night goes by that he doesn't think of Lucia.

Ivan goes upstairs and finds that MP's room is a mess, but perseveres and finds the passport in the nightstand... next to a batch of casino chips, which he brings down to Tony. Tony explains that Philip Marlowe hasn't brought back any reports of lovers or clandestine casinos, but they both speculate on whether the gumshoe is hiding something. Tony points out that when they get back from Mexico they will be all over this.

Commercial Break Now you will need a new barf bag.

Hotel: Merry Piece goes up to her trysting place and Bob tells her about Sam Spade's activity... and Juliet's threat.

MP: Why did you want to meet me here again?
Bob: I have a friend who is a private investigator. He just confirmed my suspicions because your husband's father hired him to follow you.
MP (sitting on the bed and taking off her shades): What?
Bob: Don't worry. What luck that it's a friend of mine who informed me of this great little piece of gossip.
MP (starts to undress him): Then we don't have anything to worry about.
Bob (trying to fight back): Not now, but he can't feed McGuire false information forever. We can't go on much longer because my wife is starting to suspect. (puts his jacket back on) For all we know she could easily hire another detective.
MP (pulling his jacket down again): Juliet? I don't believe it because she's [something that probably means stupid or pathetic]
Bob: Maripaz, I'm sorry, but we have to cut this off.
MP: Are you serious? After everything we meant to each other?
Bob: I have a career, Maripaz, and hopes. I don't want for any reason – (she kisses him forcefully and he pulls away)
MP: I'm not giving you up. You please me. (turns him around and forces him back onto the bed. He relieves himself of the jacket and she straddles him) You are the only good thing that's happened to me in this damned city. Let's forget about these problems and enjoy ourselves.

He fights back to sit up and she slaps his face lightly with both hands as she tackles him.

Hacienda Socorro: Lucia and Carlota talk in the Portrait Room. Carlota tells Lucia that Ivan will arrive in a day or so. Lucia doesn't want to see him; she admits she still loves Ivan as she did before. Carlota reminds her that Ivan has a marital relationship with Merry Piece and that Lucia is married to Camilo, who loves her. Maripaz married Ivan for money and Lucia married Camilo out of affection. That is the difference between them. Maripaz is evil and it is a weak man who has sexual relations with a woman that perverse.

Commercial Break

Lucia's Bedroom, night: Camilo confides in her about the fight that forced Ivan to leave Mexico. He and Antolin just happened to get there. We get a flashback of the scene and Antolin opening his switchblade knife and stabbing the guy in the back Camilo punched another one out.. Neither Ivan nor he killed the guy and Lucia correctly concludes that it was Antolin who did it but wouldn't admit to it. Camilo took the heat, saying he killed this guy defending Ivan. He encouraged Ivan to get out of Mexico and Camilo kept quiet to protect Antolin. There was no investigation. He has never felt right about any of this. Lucia looks worried.

McGuire Mansion: Ivan packs for the trip and locks up MP's passport. He stops in her room to tell her they're leaving and doesn't she want to say goodbye to her son? She says “To hell with them and that dog, too.” We notice that there is a liquor bottle and a glass on the nightstand.

The Wicked Witch of the West has spoken as she turns away and goes back to sleep. Torches and pitchforks, anyone?

Rancho Socorro: Lucia and the baby visit Camilo in the field. They sit down to lunch after looking at the perfect field of whatever crop. They're under an overhead vine rack Camilo built for shade so Lucia and the baby can visit him at work.

Commercial Break

Rancho Socorro: Lucia explains that her thesis is going well. All is well until she tells Camilo that Ivan will be arriving soon. She asks him not to bring Ivan to the ranch. He realizes she still loves him.

Ag Ass Office, outside: Lucrazia bumps into Antolin. It almost looks like she is about to flirt with him, but she wants to make sure that JJ doesn't find out about his role in the delivery of the blackmail money. He assures her that she doesn't need to worry because they're family since Camilo is married to Lucia. Family is sacred to him. She still looks apprehensive as he departs.

McGuire Mansion: Tony bids hasta la vista to Ivan and Alex. He has Bruno by his side. Alex tells Bruno to stay away from Maripaz.

That's three comments about Bruno's safety. I don't like this.

Bar: Camilo and Antolin talk about Ivan's impending arrival and Camilo's worry. He almost tells Antolin that he married her knowing that she was pregnant by another man, but instead says he knew she loved someone else. He asks Antolin to find out what he can about Ivan's intentions. Antolin tries to get him not to worry. Ivan married Maripaz for Alex and he's not likely to try to take Perla away from Lucia.

Avances:
Secretos y mentiras as Tony meets baby Perla and finds out that Lucia and Camilo are married. Bruno is not in that scene.

And we have to wait until Monday to find out. Rats.

Tony admits he knew Pepa and Fina were one and the same long before they found out. Gonzo puts a shocked locked face… I became her ally and I feel responsible for what happened to you.
G: It is not your fault (written on the pad)
Antonio says if I had not been a coward and had told the truth, you would not be like this.
Gonzo again does not blame him… Antonio keeps blaming himself. Needs to clean his conscience.
Gonzo says you are a good man, God bless you.
Tony says he is trying to find the right way, trying to find peace in God… will do whatever to help them in any way he can. Believe it or not, leaving in peace knowing Gina is with you. Know she is happy with you, loves you and she never loved me. Perhaps because I never played fair… I tried to retain her with the promise I would find her daughter.
Gonzo writes we all make mistakes, we have to learn to forgive others and ourselves…
Tony admits that Gonzo and Gina won at the game because they fought for their love.

Ezeq arrives and Augie rants at him how come Alvaro is alive? Augie wants to know how he was expedited a death certificate if he is alive? Ezeq gets really nervous… Augie notices it… You hate him because he slept with your wife and I hate him for being a traitor. Augie does not want to go find him, because he would expose himself in sending his own men to find Alvaro. He will let the authorities do it. He is sure Alvaro prefers to die than jail. Alvaro brings out the skeletons in Ezeq’s closet… Alvaro knows Ezeq used to be a delincuent, was in jail for some time.. just like Alvaro. Ezeq says he ended in jail because he was hungry (in poverty).. he was very young. Augie makes it clear that he is blackmailing Ezeq into keeping him up to date about any news regarding Alvaro. When Ezeq leaves, Augie tells himself that Ezeq is no longer loyal to him, knew Alvaro was alive and did not tell him, so noone will know about his jail time until he feels like it.

Ines, Gina and Connie talk about Chema and about Ines' foundation ‘aqui nadie se rinde.’ Gina says I opened this center in honor of my daughter, ANSR will also be great.

Alvaro has Kari tied up to a chair in some shack...(are we going to get a burning barn again a la Nunca te Olvidare?) … Somehow Karina headbumps Alvaro and he goes down for a long count unconscious. She thanks God for not letting him rape her again and she asks for help to be found… suddenly she leans back and, whala!! There is a nail on the wall right at the right height so she can rub the rope tying her hand on it.

Mati, Manuela and Herminia in kitchen… Mati does not feel like eating. They talk about what Kari and Lazaro are going through. Lazaro and Carlos are still out looking for Kari. Manuela is afraid of what Lazaro would do if he had Alvaro in front of him.

Carlos tells Lazaro he talked to Jero and he was told there is no news of Alvaro or Kari. Lazaro sounds pretty desperate to find her. Carlos tries to cheer him up. Lazaro could care less what happens to Alvaro, but if something happens to Kari he will never forgive himself.

Renata is checking something in her suitcase. Spots the emerald necklace and puts it away in a desk.

Jero is pampering Marina again… they talk about the situation, fairly uncomfortable. She can’t wait for the Dr to come diagnose her so she can go back home. Jero is concerned about the rest of her pregnancy. He wants to do whatever they can for the babies health. Jero says he would have loved for everything to have turned out different. She agrees. But there is no going back.

Jero and Nata are leaning in bed together, both of them are praying and wondering why isn’t Nata the one giving him a child? (BECAUSE YOU TWO ARE STUPID THAT’S WHY!)

Next day Manuela brings Marina breakfast in bed… Marina compliments her food…
Marina asks Manuela to find someone that can help care for her during the pregnancy.
Manuela says she would even do it herself because she knows Nata, Jero and everyone else trusts her. Manuela says the situation is affecting Nata too. Marina is a bit rough saying ‘yes she is the wife, and she feels bad having to share the roof with her husband’s children’s mother’… the truth is hard, but it is that, the truth.

Nata is dressed and gets the necklace Augie gave her… she writes a note… and leaves it on the bed…

Jero is in his office arguing with the police captain about not finding Alvaro.

Kari untied her hands… she tries to tie Alvaro (someone wasn’t a girl scout) but he is about to wake up so she leaves after hitting him with a bottle on the head to make him fall again. Sorry Alvaro, I did not want to hurt you, it is your life or mine.. and although I know you are alive, and will be for many years… never never… will we see each other again.

There is a road block out there.

Carlos and Lazaro continue looking for Kari.

At jail, Fina orders Roberta to go get the money and give it to the doctor in the jail. Berta is surprised at Fina’s smarts… you don’t even bother asking for my dad, Fina laughs and says surely he is in bed as a vegetable… Berta says nope, he is recovering very quickly (which really shocks Fina). IT seems you will never be able to get rid of him or Gina. And you don’t know how glad I am.

Doctor gives Gonzo the thumbs up on the check up.

Gonzo and Dr compliment Gina on her love and caring for Gonzo.

Back at La Bonita, Jero goes to the bedroom, reads Nata’s note and immediately guesses right what is the ‘errand’ Nata had to go run… to see Augie. Even though Nata’s note is asking him to trust her, he is visibly upset about her meeting Dunant.

Nata arrives at Tantrum Man’s… She is very dry with him, returns his necklace and engagement ring, and he asks why she changed with him. She says she came to clarify that… she asks directly if he was involved in the attempt to kill Alvaro. Augie acts offended. He gives her his word that he would never kill anyone. Questions why she believes a drunk… He blames Alvaro for kidnapping Kari and killing a man. Nata tells him that Alvaro would have reason to suspect Augie would want to kill him because he knew that Augie stole a grape plant spurt from La Bonita. Augie gets really angry and loud… He paid loads of money for the crops of La Bonita… Nata asks why would a man about to die lie about anything?? Augie yells that he will prove to Nata that he will prove that she is wrong. She is impactada, seems to believe him. (I don’t know if I am more mad at Tantrum man for sounding like a spoiled kid who is not getting his new toy, or at Nata for being the queen of dumb.)

Alvaro wakes up but is visibly beaten up and still a bit with a hangover. He keeps repeating Kari’s name… but is moving very sluggishly. Bichir is doing a great job in making that black suit as dirty as possible rolling all around the dirt floor…

Jero calls Nata’s cell but she won’t answer so he leaves her a message saying he is worried about her if she is with Augie.

Karina is walking around the fields… seems very tired and desperate begging for help.

Berta arrives to the jail doctor’s office… she gives him the briefcase full of money. Fina comes in. Berta takes her leave, she is mad and just says she did what Fina wanted. The doctor observes that Berta does not love Fina…

Gina and Gonzo walk the Doctor out and then get a bit cheesy ‘it was your love’…

Hono and Matt at the office… Matt is heading to see Gonzo… asks Hono to come. Hono is reluctant to leave the office alone, Adri is not there. Hono says the Berta issue is making him very unsettled, so he ends up leaving with Matt.

A woman comes to the center with a baby in her arms… Connie and Ines attend to her. The woman has no money or skills, she wants to learn how to support her child.

Chema’s doctor tells dad the bad news that all they can do is control the pain until the end comes. Adri is asking how long do they have. Doctor not sure. They have to come up with a pretext to bring Chema to have tests done without telling him.

Chema is at a jewelry store and asks Julieta to help him choose an engagement ring that he plans to give Adri on the day of the restaurant opening.

Alvaro unties himself and goes out with the gun to look for Karina.

Jero calls Marina’s doctor, who found a portable sonogram and is heading there to check her.

Mati tells Jero that Nata arrived. Marina tells Mati that Jero is a good man… the best man I know.

Jero goes to bedroom to see Nata… he confronts her immediately about going to see Dunant. Nata tells him Augie swore he did not order Alvaro’s death and did not steal the grape plant. Jero is now the offended one, says she believes Augie… Nata tells Jero that Alvaro’s word is the one that has no credibility. Jero asks if she would believe Ezequiel’s word. Jero tells Nata that Augie ordered Ezequiel to kill Areli… Eze came to tell Lazaro and they took her out of town safely. Why would he kill Areli? Because she was a nuisance to him and because she was the one that ruined his ‘mosto’ (the crops from La Bonita).

Previews:
Seems Kari finds Lazaro but as they hug, Alvaro points to them with his gun.
Tantrum man is yelling at someone that he won’t allow his reputation to be ruined by a man who is a delinquent! (so much for keeping the card about Ezeq for another day)

Ana is jealous and tells Pancho she thinks Lupita is his favorite. He says he loves Lupita because she's like he is - they're so similar they understand each other. but he loves Ana because she's like her mom! Glad they got that cleared up.

Monica tells Kari (who's pretending it wasn't she who spilled to Pepe) that she's going crazy - she was really drawn to Pepe when he talked about losing his mother just as she lost hers. Kari says "You don't love Freddy, you're just used to him. It's an arranged marriage."

Elena computer-chats with Freddy - she knows his name and lots of other things about him too. They meet at a bar that night - Elena, flirting obnoxiously, sucks down a huge drink and whistles for more. Freddy is embarrassed. He tells her he is completely single. She takes pictures of him, which makes him nervous. He drives Elena home and gives her a preliminary kiss, but she escapes. "What am I doing in this sketchy barrio? I'll get kidnapped!" he thought bubbles.

Chela's dressed nicely for her big date. She is hyperventilating and hoping all her hopes will be realized and Pancho will profess his love. He sends a company car for her! She sits at the restaurant and imagines Pancho's grand entrance ... but instead it's his bald friend Chacho who shows up, wearing a teal suit. It doesn't go well; she isn't laughing at his bad jokes. He gives up and says he'll see her home. He's sad, she feels guilty.

Sitting over work with Rebe, Pancho is worried about Temo, he's kind of alone since Chelo is not home. Rebeca suggests they go work at his house - she likes the grateful kiss he plants on her.

Pina has the installation Candy recommended (a dance pole) and a new outfit, but she's afraid since her last try was a disaster. Candy meaows to boost Pina's spirits, wishes her good luck and leaves. Pina practices Candy's moves. Candy thinks: "Her hubby is a disaster, but so sexy!"

Pancho reassures Rebe: he's a better negotiator than the Arabs, he's been bargaining all his life. Rebe wants to turn down the delicious meal Pancho offers. Temo appears, newly wakened from a sad nightmare, crying for his mom. Chela's home! She interrupts Pancho's cooking. Thanks for ditching me! Who are you cooking your famous sausage sandwiches for? She yells at Rebeca, who's sitting and stroking Tema's head. She possessively tears Temo out of Rebeca's lap and takes him to bed. Giant temper tantrum from Chela, Rebe leaves.

Pina astonishes Vince, she's dressed like the Village People in a black policeman's outfit. She tries a pole dance but hasn't had enough lessons and ends up on the floor. She must have hurt her back because she moans all night and next day Vince is exhausted and furious when the sun rises! She says, "At least I'm trying to revive our dead love! Otherwise we'll end in divorce." He says she can't live without him and leaves.

Chacho reports to Pancho: "I told her my best jokes, and nothing! She's in love with you! Stop lying to yourself, you know it's true."

Next day Freddy calls Elena. "You gave me certain signals!" he chides. He doesn't want Lupita to know of their secret love (ie the photo Elena took), Of coures, first Ana shows up and sees Freddy's picture on the computer. ("Elena, you know him?" "Yes, but it's a secret.... it would be easy for me to fall in love with him.") Then Lupe herself shows up, to invite Elena to the Arab party. She, too, sees the picture. She warns Elena that Freddy has a girlfriend. Later Freddy tells Alex: "I thought she was going to put out - but no! She'll be a trophy for my collection - she can have me in bed and that's all."

It's the day of the Arabs' arrival and Pancho's not to be found. Rebe is losing it. Chacho won't tell her the master plan. As it happens, Pancho's where he's supposed to be, at the airport, welcoming the Arabs - in English! He's brought his van instead of a limo and gives them a long funny tour of the city, charming them all the while.

Vince and his posse are waiting outside Avon for the visitors. Millions of dollars are at stake! Enzo says if the greengrocer ruins the negotiation, so much the better. They're told: Pancho left orders for you all to get in the limos and go - to an undisclosed location.

Pancho has brought his new friends (clapping and singing) to the casa popular! The limo arrives too, Rebe is hissing and yelling. Pancho says, relax, everything's under control, and it's time to eat. The Arabs are in a very good mood. Enzo says he hopes this is the last time he'll ever be here. Pancho says, life takes mysterious turns.

There's a tent set up in the courtyard for a feast. Tomorrow: Candy does a belly dance.

Marina figures out her ploy to move in on Jero isn’t getting Renata out of her way. (I know I’m the mean cynic and poor little obstetrical doctor Marina just doesn’t know how do deal with this pregnancy that is her only tie to the disinterested Jero.) What Augie figures out that Nesme still being alive is because Jero is getting in his way. Poor little Lioncio is driving the red wreck and yes there is the bottle in the back seat again as Nesme shoots Lazaro off his horse, reloads his gun and guzzles a bit of the medicine while abusing everyone in the car. Jero leaves Renata in charge of Marina and goes to help the rescue crew. The car stops, yes I see now, he did know that the horse was there, he tells Leoncio to pull over by that horse. He takes the flask says salud to Leoncio and then makes sure that isn’t what he is going to get. Leoncio pleads not to be killed he swears he won’t talk or open his mouth. But the cameras shift up the road to Lazaro standing up as we hear the shot in the distance. The cars and horses are off to the chase as Nastiness takes the still unconscious Kari and thankgod her veil is still securely in place on her sleepy head. and heads toward the horse that doesn’t look big enough for two. Jero reaches Carlos for an update of what has happened. Lazaro is scratched, mad as hell and very alive in the back seat as the pursuit continues.

Manuela is cryng and Renata soothes her telling her kindly not to cry but hands her blanket and pillow to take to Marina. Manuela thinks things are worse for Renata than anyone else. Renata and she worry about Kari and Marina but Renata’s good humor holds firm.

The other white gowns stroll and talk about getting the money the doctor is now expecting. Blanca says the choice is in favors (her preferred payment method) or money. Fina says it ‘ll have to be money because I can’t be with someone like him. Fina is in a snit about sharing her money but says she needs permission to make a call in order to get the money delivered so she can really negotiate with power.

Marina’s doctor calls back and Jero puts him on speaker phone so all can hear. On the other end, the doctor insists that Marina is not to be moved an inch until he comes to examine her (revisar.) He rats her out too, he says Marina you know this is the second time you have had blood spotting. For a doctor, she is being the worst kind of patient denying the gravity of her situation of being stuck in the red dress when Renata can change clothes at any time. Well, you know I mean the babies welfare is the only other important impediment. Renata again takes command of HER house and assures the doctor through the speaker that they will take good care of her and be sure she is kept as quiet and calm as he advises. So much for adolescent behavior, Marina, now you have lost your adult rights, lie down and shut up!

Renata decides that Manuela and the girls will be sent to prepare the famous guest room and Jero thanks her for her understanding and support.

Honorio and Gonzolo discuss Hernan Varolo? What do you think of his attractive offer to invest with us? It will make radical changes in the empresa. Gonz says he is a good man and trustworthy. Once again, Hon is doubtful and Gonz is trusting. Gonzo thanks him for his support and friendship. Hon is glad he is getting better fast and mostly glad that Fina isn’t there vexing their lives. Gonzo writes: you are my brother. Hon agrees, Gonzo is his brother too.

The women at La Bon pray and hope for Kari’s rescue. Manuela tells them they have to prepare a room for the pregnant one, rolling of eyes is universal.

Hon comes into the house of horrors, aka Gonz’s pad where Roberta asks a doubting Hon has he heard from Gonz that she is to work at the EM. He reminds her she was about to come to work before and never showed up. She quickly passes that off since she was only too ready to come but then she lost the baby. (She is getting a lot of mileage out of the Fina caused miscarriage) He is openly shocked and says why do you want to work in the company? You know nothing of investments or exportation let alone business. But I can learn fast and I want to be productive and helpful. At least think about it, talk to Matias and Gonzo and maybe give me another chance.

Blanca is having that little talk with the director of the loca farm. He says you know what will happen if anything goes wrong. She says a little too breathlessly I know you will punish me. He kisses her hand and lets Fina in for only one call. He doesn’t want to risk his job.

The work-bound Roberta answers her cell phone. Mom asks, how are you? I miss you. I want you to leave me alone, leave me in peace. I am your mother and those ties last a lifetime. I didn’t just call to greet you, I need to see you. She demands Roberta come to see her and bring her money, you know the money she gave her.

Jero tucks Marina into the bed in the GUEST ROOM (there must be some satisfaction for Renata in sticking her there) under Renata s observation and the little nurse that caused half of the problem comes in her dainty dress having hoped for a romantic scene, The matter of fact Renata wants to get her something to eat. She’s not hungry, she whines, but Renata says the babies need nutrition. Jero leaves them in the GUEST Room. He thanks her again profusely, she is the most generous and wonderful woman in the world. She demurs saying not to thank her so much, she is doing it more for obligation than desire (Mas por deber que por querer.) This woman is so clearly in command of the hacienda and EVERYONE in it knows it.

The Nurse wants to know why Marina is crying, another contraction? Now she says she is so humiliated. Imagine being in the house of the man you love, the man who is father to your children and have to share him with is wife. Oh cry me a river you deluded girl.

The police have arrived at the car and cover the body of Leoncio but Lazaro arrives and thinks the sheet is covering his Kari, he flips out. They are told it is Leoncio Perez from Tijuana. Carlos and Laz realize at the same moment that Leo was always an accomplice, they were betrayed. Lazaro insists that he won’t leave the hunt for Kari even though Carlos thinks the better plan would be to return to La Bonita and wait for the police to do their work. Lazaro is not going to leave, even though they point out that the territory is large and they don’t know where Nesme and Kari are. Zeke things he can go back to Cruz Sin Amor and get a fire under Augie who will go into blame game when he realizes that Nesme is alive. He doesn’t want Augie to know he was in on the search. Careful Zeke.

The phone call gets heated with Fina demanding that Roberta bring her this money or she will reveal who she really is and ruin Roberta’s life. Roberta says she hates her and Fina screams that it is she who enabled Roberta to live the life of a princess and if she doesn’t do as she says and bring the money her little reign will be over. She has to bring the money in a day or so or else. Roberta cries why did she have to be her real daughter.

Back with the locas, the doctor comes back in with Blanca who tells him that the next thing they want is freedom. He is laughing, what makes you think you are going to get freedom or that I would risk my post. Fina says you can make fun of us now. Blanca assures him they need to seek revenge from those unjustly put them in this place. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. Fina says when you get all that money you will change your opinion. He says let me see the money in my hands then and we will talk. Such a fine man to run an important asylum. Gives you hope for the mental health facilities of the world. He finishes with, now return to the park I don’t have more time for you .

Bells toll and Chema greets Julieta at the miracle cafe, he is trying to write letters (menus? Or signs) but can’t think what to say. She offers to help. He says I really like you and that Matias is a good guy for you. She plays along with rolling eyes.

Hon tells Adri and Mat that Gonzo has given his blessing for the Varola hiring and the kids are happy then he tells them that Roberta is coming to work and they are both WTF?? She is useless, cries Adriana. They discuss that she is up to something and no good and stupid and lazy and Hon agrees with every word but Gonz has given his permission. We’ll have to watch her.

Roberta is cursing her fate of being Fina’s evil spawn and not Regina’s. What is she to do with that wicked mother who if she can convince the courts and the doctors that she is crazy is capable of anything. Regina comes into Roberta’s room to tell her she is going to the center and she is again so glad to have Roberta with her. Roberta feels even worse when she leaves.

Jero has a little melt down at the problems but Renata insists it is not his fault that Panal and the doctors at the prison left Nesme unguarded so he could escape. Besides Nesme loves Kari, he isn’t going to hurt her. Jero says he is an alcoholic and may love her when he is in his right mind but who knows how he could hurt her when he is blotto in a drunken rage. Renata tries to reassure him that all will be well.

Speak of the devil, Alvaro is in full rage while Kari sobs that she wants to be let go. Nesme keeps insisting that she is his property and he will take her off and they will have a new life, oblivious to the reality of how hated he is. I can’t write more detail on this scene, I need water. I need air.

The nurse accompanies Alfonsina to her house with the baby and says in all her years of working for the Dr. Nesme, she never thought he was such a bad person. Then she asks Alfonsina, did you really ever love him and Alfonsina says in truth, NO.

Back in the den of hell, Alvaro is torturing our long suffering Kari in mind and body with his nasty rough treatment and he hurts her further by threatening suicide by putting the gun in mouth. Stupidly Kari screams, no no. He then pretends he sees Laz out of the window and will shoot him and says he will shoot anyone like he did old Leoncio.

Gonzo comes downstairs and sees the maid making excuses of why Antonio can’t see Gonzo. Gonzo looks at the clothes and says why are you dressed like this? I am a seminarian, Antonio says. He wants to say goodbye and apologize again. He was a coward and did not reveal what he knew. He admits that he was Fina’s accomplice and that he know that Pepa and Fina were the same person long before any of them did. He lied when Gonzo asked him if she was. The kind Gonzo writes, it isn’t your fault and later we couldn’t have guessed what she would do. Gonzo calls Antonio a good man. Antonio thanks him, he wants to find a path to peace in a life with god. He owes the family a great debt. He will be going to Valle de Guadelupe near his daughter, which pleases Gonzo. Antonio vows he will do all he can to help them.

Zeke walks into Augies’ office as Augie immediately starts with the recriminations how did anyone miss Nesme’s non-death? Zeke jumps but says oh, we were all so surprised, no one had any idea. Augie wantd revenge on Nesme because he was a traitor, he says as he looks meaningfully at Zeke. Zeke says are you going to mount a hunt then? No, that wouldn’t look good if either I or my people were involved. Augie reasons that the police will get to Nesme who would far prefer to die than be sent to jail. You of all people know how awful that is. Wow, what a nasty thing to bring up, thinks Zeke as the color drains from the scene.

Next episode: It looks like everything heats up and nothing cools down, nothing. Renata gets out of that infernal red dress, leaves a note and goes to town.Others aren't so lucky.

Mil gracias to Julia for her terrific guest recap last Monday. Mexico was divine. I will post this then add a picture or two. Oh I am so back! First I get to see Alvaro in his hoodie which makes him look strangely normal now toting the unconscious neighbor with Leoncio’s help to strip his clothes, tie him up and take his car.

Manuela shows off the freshly pressed white wedding gown to celebrate with Kari the only marriage she made for love. Alvaro dons his bad beard and wiggy wig, he is so proud of how unrecognizable he is, but he is clearly such a loco that it shouldn’t matter what disguise he puts on. Fina pouts in the jardin de locas bemoaning Roberta’s rejections while Augie bemoans Renata’s rejection while imagining Renata coming innocently through the woods in the red dress and him knocking her out then climbing on her to spray perfume then sniff/lick it off. He even shoots some of the scent on his own face, I’m hoping the spray hit his eyes, but I can’t say more, I’m gagging here.

The real Renata is talking to herself about being positive and getting the best out of this uncomfortable situation with Jero’s twins and double life. She gets a call from Augustin, He assures he doesn’t want to cause her problems with Jeronimo but wants to know about her other family problems like how is dad and good old mom? She says he is getting better, but the Mad Bad Mom had her day in court and is now in the funny farm. He wants to come comfort her but she says it is best to leave things as they are. He begs to see her and she says yes they can meet but only to return his engagement ring and the necklace. Not to give up ever, ever, he says he won’t accept them back.

Alvaro urges Leoncio to write some story about what happened didn’t quite make sense but on we go; poor Leo thinks if he is caught as an accomplice he will be lynched. Alvaro waves more peso notes that he will give him when his job is finished and adds the glasses to his costume that is nearly perfect now.

Senor Hernan X who was so moved by Matias’ talk at the conference is talking to Honario. Hernan declares he is impressed with their recuperation and wants to invest in the company to offer needed liquidity and to help them develop horizontally: they should take him on as a partner (socio.) Hernan’s theme music is vaguely ominous, I’m just warning you to listen up.

Roberta has a great new plan she shares with Gonzolo and Regina, she wants to do something and she wants to work at Empresas Monterrubio and she faces the shocked faces of her parents with saying she knows she isn’t as capable and experienced as Renata but she is smart and learns fast. Regina wants her to work at the center with her so they can spend more time together getting close. Roberta can’t do that but makes Regina feel guilty by telling her that she can’t enter the center because all those pregnant women around will only make her sad that she can’t be one of them. She wants her way and that is to work at EM, so dad writes on his electronic tablet that she should talk to Honorio and tell him that she will be working at the Empresa. Roberta is so pretty when she has just gotten her own way. They all bask in her brief sunshiny smile while the menacing, warning music swirls around her lovely coifed curls.

Manuela straightens his tie while she tries to calm Lorenzo who is shaking in his boots. Why this more than handsome man let them dress him so badly, who knows. Jero explains his dilemma of juggling the twins, trying to take part in every moment of their life. He insists that his interest in Marina is only as the mother of his offspring and he is dedicated to keeping Renata the happiest woman on the planet. Carlos acknowledges the difficulty Jero is facing. He wouldn’t want to be in either his or Renata’s shoes today.

And surprise, surprise even to Jero, Marina shows up first in THE RED DRESS. Carlos beats a hasty retreat with things to do. Jero asks how the pregnancy is going and she says she showed up because it might not be to anyone’s liking but if she is going to share but still lead her own life, she can do things like crash this wedding. Hmmm.

The beautifully white dressed bride is being accompanied by her group of girl friends. Renata comes to congratulate Kari in her happy day and for the love she has fought for so long. Kari is grateful that she is there in spite of her family’s problems in Mexico City. Renata wouldn’t have missed being with her friend. They all laugh that they are so glad to be there for Kari.

The suspicious looking JUDGE shows up but Lorenzo is too nervous to notice who it really is under all that nylon hair. Kari asks for a moment alone in the bedroom to thank the Virgin for making this her perfect wedding day.

The RED DRESSES finally meet and we can see that they are mirror images. Marina blames Renata for her situation and being there and if Renata had not insisted she would have gone away but no, Renata had to be honest and tell on her so she can’t escape so there! You get red dresses copied for making me do this. Marina still resembles a junior high school bratty girl with this little speech. Even after a refreshing week in Mexico, I am still annoyed at her adolescent blaming behavior but it is almost funny. Maybe she had a talk with Roberta while I was gone? No, just standing her ground, which she would probably like to crawl under. At least Marina and Renata both get to tell each other how uncomfortable this is for both of them without an audience to see the shame of matching dresses and hairdos and only one galan between them.

Renata approaches Jero outside to ask why didn’t you inform me that Marina was coming to the wedding? Because he didn’t know until she showed up. Renata admits that this is much more difficult than she imagined it would be. She is frustrated but he assures her he will keep her and Marina as far away from each other as possible. She reminds him that a relationship with his children will necessitate a relationship with Marina too, the mother of his children. They swear love to each other and another crisis is averted. I bet Renata would like to slip into her closet to get a different dress.

Adriana and Matias talk about how much they think the addition of Hernan would add to the liveliness and vibrance of the empresa and make it more than just a family business even though having more children will assure the family heritage of the the company’s future. Hernan’s only son is an artist and won’t want to join the nepotism game ever. They decide they will work on each of the Papas to convince them to accept Hernan. They kiss and wink at the idea of MORE children.

Constanza acknowledges Regina’s discomforty at being in Fina’s house of so many years. Regina says she knows how much the house means to them and she is happy to be with Gonzo where ever. She plans to add her own touches. I’d start with that evil black wallpaper on the bedroom wall. Gonzo sits in a bit of a stupor.

Honorio teases Adriana babout ut calling Gonzo suegro and she thinks Don Gonzo is too formal. Hon says Gonzo will be ver y happy to hear her call him suegro . He will talk to Gonzo about this Hernan proposition.

Chema breaks in through the receptionist while Adri and Matias manage another lovely kiss. Chema wants to announce the opeingi nof his new restaurinat. So fast? Chema tells how much his Papa has accomplished and now it is ready to open and he wants Adriana there with him and mentions to Matias that Julieta will be there too and he knows how much that means to Matias. Everyone swallows hard and agrees. Matias leaves. Chema talks of his dreams and hugs the patient Adriana.

The wedding starts the witnesses come forth to sign the register while Leoncito takes keys out of the cars (didn’t anyone’s father warn of the danger of leaving keys in the ignition?)

Augie drives along dreaming of licking Renata’s face and sees the tied up, underwear clad neighbor. He stops to untie him and learns that it was done by Dr. Alvaro Nesme, who is not so dead at all. He attacked me and took my car. Augie forgets the sniffing dream for a full minute while he calculates how this happened and who besides Jero is to blame for keeping him from his fun dominator/sniffer fantasy.

Leoncito grabs more keys from more ignitions while the wedding witnesses finish signing and then the judge asks Kari to come around to sign on his side of the table and she cheerfully does so while Lazaro looks on with an idiot’s smile. The nylon hirsute Alvaro/Judge pulls a gun, thrusts it in her ribs and grabs her around the neck as she shouts ALVARO. He totally has the upper hand and another frozen crowd watches him do what he wants.

THE TWO WHITE GOWNS enter the doctor’s office. To his question, now what do you want? Blanca tells him that if he wants to grant certain special favors, Fina is a very rich woman who would gladly share her fortune for some freedom. Fina smiles like the croc that swallowed the clock and says yes, it would be desirable (conviene) for her too.

Meanwhile back at the wedding turned nightmare in the vineyard. Everyone is screaming for Alvaro to let go of Kari and Jero points out that the police will get him he has fled from justice. He swears he will never go back to jail. He shoves Kari into the back of the red car as he fires off a shot and everyone hits the deck. Marina looks traumatized but I don’t think she or anyone else was hit.

Jero has the presence of mind to get to a phone and call Penal the officer who should have taken care of keeping Nesme out of circulation. He complains that they talked him into helping and now his people are in danger. Penal apologizes then assures him that he will bring out all the officers necessary to catch Nesme. He can’t believe this tragedy occurred at the happy wedding. Renata soothes him. It wasn’t his fault. She is always so positive that things will work out.

The ladies all come into the La Bonita livingroom buzzing around Marina who is having pains. She is having cramps and a bit of blood. They all curse Alvaro for ruining the perfect moment.

Alvaro is in the back seat of the little red car, man-handling Kari as if this would make her melt with desire, but she sobbingly tells him that she wants out and she loves Lorenzo. She pleads with Leoncio to not be an accomplice in this crime, to save him self and to save her. The wig and beard are ripped off, our suddenly agile doctor has time to shake and bruise Kari while taking off his disguise and thumping Leoncio in the head while he drives. It’s the hardest he has worked in the entire telenovela. The horses and SUV’s are in hot pursuit of this nasty little red car but all the horsepower in the world can’t seem to outrun this rent-a-wreck.

Jero is taking leave of Renata to go see what is happening in the pursuit and rescue mission when Matilde comes in to say Marina has taken ill. He rushes off to the living room where Marina is making small of the situation. Jero asks her to not put herself or the babies at risk (expongar) while Manuela begs her to tell Jero the truth. A small bit of placenta as broken loose and there is danger of a miscarriage if she doesn’t begin total bed rest immediately. (gee only that? Renata kind of rolls her eyes as we all do) Jero begs her to think of the babies’ well being and not the nasty political situation she has created by dressing like his wife and coming to this disaster of a wedding unannounced. Renata keeps her cool and is the voice of nobility as always suggesting they all keep cool until they find out what the doctor says.

The reign of the ignoble continues, Alvaro threatens his red car mates while leaning out of the car and shooting at Lazaro who is gaining ground with the magnificent black stallion. Lorenzo takes a hit and falls from the horse.

Jero is calling the Marina’s gynecologist who is in surgery so he will call Jero back soon. The Nurse says it is dangerous for Marina to move even though she keeps trying to say she wants to leave. Finally Renata tells her they should wait and please don’t feel uncomfortable. The babies welfare and her health are more important. They should wait for the doctor to call back with advice.

Alvaro has Leoncio pull over by the horse under a tree (look, I don’t know how he saw it either.) Alvaro orders him out of the car, takes a swig from the flask then gives Leoncio a drink from the bottomless flask. while Alvaro pulls his gun out of his belt with its unending supply of bullets. While telling Leoncio in a eerie voice how much he likes him (me caes bien) while he cocks the pistol. We stop the episode expecting the worst.

Next: Marina claims to be humiliated, Alvaro claims to be justified while Kari begs for mercy and Fina claims to really love Roberta and wants her out of the evil clutches of Regina (really she just wants all that money.) What can I say? She’s the one in a white gown with dreams of domination. Sorry for leaving you another mess to sweep up, Jules.

All the ads are telling us that this is a “nueva etapa”, but it’s looking more like a crappy etapa since it starts off with our galan bumping little cars with Satan’s Spawn…AGAIN! But how much damage can the writers do to our psyche in 35 episodes? Right??? Let’s see…

Ivan throws a tantrum in the game room about his own stupidity, having sex with MP, again. Tony looks like he’s about to slap him silly, but seeing that Ivan must have already lost all his senses, since he slept with the evil ho, he decides to just talk sense to him. From this moment on, Lucia is dead to him (a lost cause). The next morning, said evil ho is shocked to wake up by herself. Ivan makes an early and hasty retreat with Alex. In the car Ivan and Alex are discussing all the sports he wants to play. Ivan asks how long it’s been since he called his Papa Gerry, Caro and Lucia. It’s been a while so Ivan encourages him to call so that they don’t get sad.

Tony calls Camilo to get the phone number for Ranch Socorro. At the ranch, they’re all moved in and Lucia’s started school. Carly gets Tony’s call and she apologizes for being out of touch. They chit chat about how their peeps are, then Tony gets right to the point and tells Carly to get Lucia to move on with her life (‘cause Ivan isn’t worth being sad about). He lets her know Ivan and MP are living as true man and wife. Carly can’t believe it. (Neither can we Carly!) Is he stupid or what, to fall again for that whore of a granddaughter of hers? She wonders if the only thing controlling Ivan are his…(she makes a cupping gesture) “desires”? Tony tries to smooth it over by saying Ivan’s just trying to make a normal family life for his son. Carly’s not having it. He’s shameless! Lucia can make her life with someone else. Carly doesn’t even want to speak to Tony again, and if he wants to take back their loan, do it! She hangs up on him. She tells Teodoro’s painting that all men are the same, even him (he did have an illegitimate daughter after all). Tony defends his actions to Bruno. Then he asks Bruno if he has a girlfriend. If not, he’ll find one for him.

At the office, Ivan has a bit of a psycho moment and yells at himself to NOT let it happen again.

Camilo arrives at the ranch to show Carly the books. She gets right to pressing him about asking Lucia to marry him. “Ivan is like my brother. He’s helped me a lot.” Carly tells him that Ivan has forgotten Lucia and she got it from a close source, Tony. Camilo can’t believe that Ivan slept with MP. Carly thinks kids these days just go where their hormones take them (says the lady who got pregnant out of wedlock by some guy who was just passing through town). She tells him that Lucia cares about him (querer).

Lucrezia interrupts their conversation. Without her even prying, they come right out and tell her Lucia’s business. She’s preggers and Camilo wants to do right by her. Camilo claims to be the father when Lucrezia asks! (Wait a minute! First they blab Lucia’s business. Then they create a lie for her! WTF?!) Lucrezia starts to lament how the story is being repeated (2 daughters impregnated by servants, out of wedlock) and wonders what SHE did wrong. She has enough sense to ask when this happened since Lucia was with Ivan and then so hung up on him. Camilo claims it was after Ivan left when Lucia was feeling alone, sad and vulnerable, and one thing led to another. Since it’s all about Lucrezia, she turns it into a personal tragedy. Everyone is going to think her daughters are whores!

Lucia arrives home completely oblivious to the fact that her grandmother and Camilo have just invented a new past, present and future for her, without her consent. Camilo greets her as she exits her car and says they need to talk. They stand next to the noisy fountain to make comprehension just that much more difficult for us. Cam admits he knows she’s preggers and that he wants to marry her. To him it’s not a sacrifice. “I love you Lucia. I’ve loved you from the first moment I met you.” He hugs her and Lucia looks completely shell shocked.

Judith tells JJ that she is not “getting back together” with Cam. It’s her life. JJ does not like being disobeyed. Judith says she’ll leave the house like her brothers. JJ scoffs at this. She doesn’t know how to do anything. Not even how find a man who will support her. Judith asks how he can treat his daughter like this. We all know how effective it is to talk to JJ about feelings and decency, and trivial stuff like that.

Carly catches Lucia as she comes into the house and tells her about the lie that she and Cam invented for her. Lucia is shockingly not pissed about this. Lucrezia isn’t as dumb as they think. She tells them she knows Lucia, and she knows how in love she is with Ivan, so she KNOWS this baby is Ivan’s, not Camilo’s. Lucia admits it.

Anto brings Caro flowers and out of the blue proposes…that they live together. She’s not offended by this, but does ask if he wants them to live together, without being married. To him it’s all the same, married or not married. Whatever she wants. He has a fixed job and a salary now, and isn’t in danger of being killed and dumped in the gutter. Now that Alex is gone, Caro doesn’t want to abandon Gerry. He’ll be all alone. “Your brother-in-law is a grown man.” (hombre hecho y derecho) “Princess, I want to be alone with you. I want to make love to you. Have babies with you. Wouldn’t you like that?” Caro is scared that her blindness will prevent her from taking care of their babies, and she doesn’t want to take advantage of his mother, although she has no issue with living with her. Anto suggests surgery as an option, but Caro doesn’t want him to waste so much money again. She’s scared, and Anto tries to kiss her worries away.

Although Lucrezia now knows who the real daddy is, she is still on board with the marry Camilo plan. She wants the wedding right away, before Lucia is showing. Lucia wants a small civil wedding at the ranch since she doesn’t think it right to get married in the Church already pregnant. The only other thing she requests is that no one tells MP or Ivan that she’s getting married. Lucrezia can’t believe they aren’t going to tell/invite the Mondragons.

In front of the noisy fountain, Lucia gives Cam the rundown on the wedding plans. Whatever she wants, he’s on board with it. He plans on building a house on his part of the land. In the meantime, they can rent an apartment since he’s sure she wouldn’t want to live with his mother. Lucia suggests they live in the big ranch house with her mom and grandmother (don’t do it!). Cam will do what she wants. He asks if she thinks one day she could love him. She tells him she hopes to and asks for time. He agrees and kisses her.

Lucia tells Carly again that she doesn’t want Ivan to know about the wedding, mostly for Camilo’s sake. Carly doesn’t think it matters since Ivan is living HAPPILY with his MUJER and son. Lucia is surprised to hear the happily part and Carly tries to brush it off. Lucia admits that although she wasn’t scared to be a single mother, she does think it’s good that her child will have a father.

In L.A., Ivan arrives home, greets Benito, and goes up to see Alex. Alex asks for help with his math homework.

Celia wonders if Lucia will be able to come to love Camilo as much as she loves Ivan. Camilo is not feeling as guilty as he was about it all a few days ago, and tells Celia about Ivan doing the horizontal mambo with MP. Celia is as shocked as we were. “But he hates her.” Celia thinks it must be a lie, then thinks Ivan just gave into his manly urges. She’s more worried about Cam getting hurt in this whole deal. Since he’s made up his mind, she gives him her blessing. Camilo promises he’ll win Lucia over (conquistarla).

MP has made herself comfortable on Ivan’s bed in her negligee. She is not deterred when Ivan says last night was a mistake and meant nothing. She thinks it meant that he still desires her. He tells her she has no pride/shame. This also doesn’t deter her so he pulls out the big guns and tells her he only saw and felt Lucia; he made love to Lucia last night. MP pauses for a half second, then goes in for the major mouth meld after saying it was HER he made love to. He pries her loose and they proceed to have a staring contest.

Carmen tells Camilo that she wants to study English and computation. If she really wants to study, then he’ll pay for it AND give her an allowance (mensualidad)! (He is obviously in a good mood.) Carmen can’t believe how easy that was. Celia tells her to stay on the straight and narrow or she’ll take away that allowance.

Anto and Gordo run into each other on the street. Gordo wonders if Anto caused Saul’s accident. Anto sticks to his divine justice story, while making it clear that’s the kind of justice that befalls anyone who messes with his family. He then tells the permanently scarred Gordo that he’ll see him around…in the mirror (espejo). Gordo makes a call to Casa Mondragon and pretends to be a friend of Saul’s to get info about his whereabouts. Esther tells him and he hangs up before she can get the name of this “good friend.”

MP is going out with her friends… again. Ivan tries to find out who these friends are and why they can’t meet them, and to convince her to rein in her spending since she’s once again exceeded her limit. She flounces off while he’s still yelling. Tony advises him to just raise her limit, let her do what she wants, and have peace in the house. Ivan can’t control himself since he HATES her!

Outside, Alex asks Maria and Benito why his parents fight so much. If they can’t get along, then they shouldn’t have gotten married. (Right on Alex!) Benito tries to cheer him up and tells him to be patient. Alex is too depressed by it all to even play with Bruno.

Despite the plea to keep the wedding intimate, Lucrezia is trying to invite people like the gossipy school mistress Olga who fired Lucia, and the Meandragons. Carly accepts the Meandragons, as long as JJ doesn’t tell Tony about the wedding.

Lucia finds a shirtless, sweaty, chiseled, uhm… where was I? Oh, yeah. Lucia finds Camilo working hard in the fields. She wants them to talk to her father, and she asks Cam once again if he has any regrets. Nope! And to show her, he sweeps her up into his manly, toned, strong, uhm…where was I? He picks her up into his arms, twirls her around, and gives her a gentle kiss. (Lucia is just as boring of a kisser with Camilo as she was with Ivan, but at least his kisses aren’t like a Hoover.)

They walk hand in hand through the part of the ranch house that isn’t finished yet, but will be theirs. They find Gerry and tell him they want to marry. He looks like he just swallowed his own tongue at this news, but finds it when he talks to Carly and Lucrezia later. He can’t believe it, since Lucia was just moping about Ivan five seconds ago! He thinks it’s too sudden and knows something is up (hay gato cerrado/there’s a cat in a bag/locked up). Carly talks about how depressed Lucia has been and now just wants to turn over a new leaf. Gerry thinks there’s a big difference between querer (to care for/love) and amar (romantic love/passionate love), and Lucia does not “ama” Camilo. Lucrezia brings up the fact that he didn’t “amar” his second wife, and they married mainly for Alex. “That was different. There was a child to think of. Hey, Lucia’s not pregnant is she?!” The Curiel women do what they do best, lie and deny. But they beg him not to let the McGuires know about the wedding.

Enters Candy with the barrio pot brigade yelling "We love you Pancho!" Rebe calls time out and yells at Pancho (Francisco) in private - "You're brilliant except when it comes to your family. With this circus, your credibility is shot. If you can't control your family, how can you control Irabien?" When he says they came to watch his back, she says "At Avon, I'll always have your back. You were managing perfectly well on your own."

Back at the circus Candy tells Arnold she has a mountain of ideas for the company. Vince asks her for a private massage - but not here! "Want me to put on my Catgirl uniform?"

Pancho to Rebe: "Chacho is my consultant, philoshoper. Chela is my boat and my anchor." Turns out, he wants work for all his kids (except Temo). He even wants his dog working at Avon (he has a good nose).

The accountaint tells Vince and Enzo "We made the decision - this meeting is informative, not a debate." "We will keep spending as before." "No. From now on, all expenses must be okayed by me, Rebe or Pancho." Vince, Arnold and Enzo leave; they complain about the "horde of nacos" invasion.

Arnold is stroking Vince when Pancho enters; he and Vince commence yelling at each other. Vince: "You want me to take you seriously, ha ha ha. You did this as revenge because I threw your sister-in-law out the other day." Pancho hears Chela was in Rebe's office. Vince insinuates that Chela might have been stealing things. Pancho punches him.

As usual, (1) Chela tells dead sister I love him in my bones and veins. Forgive me!" (2) Monica is chased down by Pepe at the elevator. She says "Keep dreaming, mechanico." "I dream of you every night."

Pina spending the day in bed, fretting that the magic drops were just a placebo and they didn't work! Adoracion drinks the rest of the not-very-magical flask.

Rebe pours out her woes to Barbara, who finds it all funny, especially the part where Rebe is so jealous of Chela!

Pancho's family talks about the Arab visit. Candy will prepare a "special number" for them. Chela will need money to make a "feast fit for kings" for them.

Vince walks and complains to his dog. Candy appears from behind a tree and whispers alluringly: "I have lava in my veins, little butterfly. You know what you and I could do?" When she tires of taunting him she leaves and he hits his sore nose on a tree.

Pancho has a credit card now - Chela offers us a public service announcement: "Be careful with that, credit cards can be a menace." He tells her HE sent the nanny -- so she wouldn't work so hard. He tells her to dress up sexy tonight, "like you did the other night when you looked like a giant kiwi," she asks why, he says it's a secret. Uh-oh.

Pepe gets Monica's friend Kari to help him out: "Naco, you're driving her crazy. But she will never give in - because she has a boyfriend, and because of her father - they are indivisible because her mom died so young. They adore each other." He catches Monica - asks if she'd like to go out with him - she says she's busy - he reminds her "you owe me a favor. Sit for a minute. I didn't know about your mom... I lost my mom too, I was older, she died when Temo was born. I had 12 years with her. I know how sad it is when your jefa (affectionate joke, means boss-lady) leaves and the world... I don't know what I would have done without my dad. So I understand." She runs away crying.

Candy and Pina sit over a snack. "You look sad, what's the matter? Problems with your husband?" "Yes, my husband doesn't want me." "Reconquer him! I know what you have to buy."

Vince is very nervous, his friends can't decide what he should do about Candy. He decides Avon should hire her! Arnold calls Candy and makes an appointment for tomorrow. Chela thinks it's a trick.

Rebeca asks Pancho to try out his English. It's not so good. He says no worries, he knows how to make himself understood. Ana shows up sad, nothing happens.

Tomorrow: Pina tries her pole dancing dressed in leather!
