Antes:

Carlota is trying to figure out what's wrong when Lucia refuses to see Ivan, finally telling Ivan that there was a family argument. Ivan questions Cleto about this and finds out that there was a fight between the sisters. Merry Piece drove off and Lucia stayed home. He also asks about whether his mother had a boyfriend. Cleto knows nothing. He is determined to talk to Lucia about this the next day.

Casa Lomiel: Alex and Gerry talk about Gerry's work – and Ivan – until the boy goes up to bed. Carolina and Gerry talk about how Ivan and Lucia will soon be married and have other children

Casa McGuire: For our viewing pleasure, Ivan is only covered to the waist as he dreams of his kitchen encounter with Lucia. While she thinks of the one before when she told him not to play [with her feelings].

Casa Lomiel: Gerry and Carolina talk about his guilt about Alicia and how Ivan has the right to know his son is alive. Carolina is still afraid of losing Alex and of Alex losing his sense of security. He's been happy all his life and she doesn't want to rock the boat.

Casa Curiel: Ivan finds out from Cleto that Lucia has already left in a cab.

School: Ivan arrives to look for Lucia and is met by the director, Olga de los Santos. She offers to send for Lucia, but Ivan tells her he will wait.

Casa McGuire: Tony, Camilo, and Benito talk about work and where the hell is Ivan (who is apparently late for something).

School: Ivan waits until Lucia exits the building, then approaches her.

Ivan: What's going on ? The doctor said you should rest.
Lucia: Yes, but I got bored staying in the house. [didn't get the rest]
Ivan: Would you please explain why you didn't take my call and why when I came I was told you were sleeping? [Lucia turns away] My love, what happened? What's wrong? What have I done?
Lucia: I was wrong. I don't want to be your novia.
Ivan: Permit me to say that if this is a joke, it's in very bad taste.
Lucia: This is no joke.
Ivan: Then, why?
Lucia: Why? You can't accept that a woman can reject you?
Ivan: We have to talk; let's go.
Lucia: No way. I'm not going anywhere with you.
Ivan: We'll go to your place.
Lucia: No.
Ivan: It's not important to me that this will be a scandal. Do you want all those children and teachers to hear all this? [Lucia looks resigned and he directs her toward the car] Would you like to eat first?
Lucia: No, I'm not hungry.
Ivan: Therefore we'll go to your house and talk.
Lucia: No, not at home. No.

They get into the car. Lucia – with all her failed attempts at one-word answers – so does not want to have this conversation.

Casa McGuire: Tony explains to (his new decorator?) that he wants things done ASAP He is assured that everything will be ready in a week.

Park : Lucia sits on a bench. Ivan brings some cold drinks when Camilo calls, saying they haven't seen him all morning. Ivan explains that he's with Lucia and then Tony doesn't want to interrupt them. He's happy that Ivan and Lucia are in love. Is he ever in for a shock.

Ivan: I went through a lot of bad things in my childhood; didn't have the money to buy these. He'd invite me.
Lucia (not even looking at him): You love him a lot, don't you?
Ivan: Yes, he's my best friend. My love, now can you tell me what's going on?
Lucia: Remember when talking about my sister you said that when you were 20 you were in love with her?
Ivan: Yes, but I explained what happened. Don't say you have doubts.
Lucia: No, I have no doubts. Because the same has happened with me.
Ivan: What are you saying? I don't understand.
Lucia: Since I was a child, all those years apart I thought about you, wanted to see you again. But I was wrong.
Ivan: No, I don't believe this. This can't be true.
Lucia: Why not? You can't believe the same didn't happen to me as Maripaz?
Ivan: It was different with Maripaz. Perhaps I never really loved her. She was an illusion but what I feel for you –
Lucia: Why can't you accept that this could happen with me? (She tries to turn away, but Ivan turns her face toward him)
Ivan: Believe me. Up to yesterday everything was good. I told you I loved you and you said you loved me. Now everything is changed. What happened to force this and who has deceived you? Was it in the hospital when you were told to rest? I was a fool not to realize it. I beg you to forgive me but don't try to say you don't love me.
Lucia: This is the same thing that happened to my sister.
Ivan: Stop talking about your sister. Maripaz is one thing; you're another. [the light bulb goes on] Does this having something to do with the fight you had with her yesterday?


Casa Curiel: Carlota, MP and Lucrazia talk about what happened yesterday.

Lucrazia (to MP): All that we talked about yesterday you are not to discuss with anyone.
MP: Of course not. How can you think I'd talk about all the shame in this house?
Carlota: You also have your own pecadillos. You are in no position to talk.
Lucrazia: I don't want to talk about this again.

Park Lucia keeps insisting she was wrong about her feelings for Ivan; he's not buying it.

Lucia: What fight?
Ivan: The argument in the garden at your house. She yelled at you.
Lucia: Who told you?
Ivan: That isn't important. Did she threaten you? Or did she invent something again?
Lucia; No. She didn't threaten me or make anything up. I was wrong. You can't accept that I don't love you?
Ivan (getting up): I don't believe you. I don't believe you . Your kisses were sincere. [need help with the rest]
Lucia (looks like she's about to cave): And what do you want me to say? This is very hard for me. It's all my fault, forgive me, but I have to be honest.
Ivan: I can't get this through my head. Tell me that something happened. Something that affects your life.


Casa Curiel: JJ calls Lucrazia about ranch business. He wants copies of the documents for a meeting with Tony. Carlota approaches Lucrazia from behind, obviously listening.

Park: Alex runs up to Lucia carrying his soccer ball. He tells her he comes to the park to look for friends to play with. Ivan says something about being out of practice. Carolina and her maid approach. When Alex tries to interest Ivan in a game Lucia tells him Ivan has things to do. He wants to escort her home, but she tells him she will go home with Carolina et al. However, Alex succeeds in getting Ivan to play with him for a bit and Lucia looks after them with a pained expression.

Casa Lomiel, outside There is a strong, positive vibe between Ivan and Alex as the boy goes inside the house with Carolina and the maid. Ivan tries once more to talk to Lucia and she tells him she doesn't love him. He's doesn't believe it.

Carolina is shocked because Lucia and Ivan didn't say a word in the car. Lucia tells her they broke up. Hugs.

Casa Curiel: Carlota asks Lucrazia about what JJ wants with the papers. She is concerned about what he will find out about the actual ownership and the fraud involved with the loan and that they may possibly lose the property. Carlota asks whether Tony really needs these documents or is JJ just being nosy and interfering? Lucrazia doesn't know, but doesn't want to hand them over because of the possibility of losing the property. Carlota asks how they can deny him that,, what reason can they give? Lucrazia doesn't know, but “we have to think of something.”

Casa Lomiel: Alex takes polite leave of the ladies from the lunch table and Carolina gets Lucia to spill the beans. Lucia sticks to the story that she and Ivan are cousins.

Casa McGuire: The secretary tells Tony that Carlota called. Ivan tells Camilo that Lucia broke up with him.

Ivan looks at the engagement ring and gets both sad and angry.

Camilo: What's up?
Ivan: Lucia broke up with me.
Camilo: What? How is that when …
Ivan: She said she was mistaken, and she doesn't love me.
Camilo: I can't believe that.
Ivan: I can't believe it either! Yesterday she said she loved me, she had always loved me and I believed her. I feel like such an idiot thinking I had found the love of my life.
Camilo: Calm down, brother.
Ivan: How can I? Do you have any idea what I'm feeling? Do you have any idea how angry I am?
I'm hurting badly.
Camilo: Let me get you a drink.

Which – as we all know -- solves all romantic problems for male novela characters.


Commercial break that leads with a Protagonistas promo followed by one for Mujeres Asesinas with the bald Rubigote

Casa Curiel: Tony and Carlota talk; she invites him over for 11 the following morning. Carlota makes sure that she will be alone in the house, charging Lucrazia with getting Merry Piece out of the way.

Casa Lomiel: Gerry mentions that there is no issue with cousins marrying and speculates on whether Ivan knows about his relationship with Alicia. He hadn't told him because of his pain and the shame [of his failure to take action, we're sure]. Alicia could have told Camilo's mother on her deathbed, she could have told Camilo, who then told Ivan and maybe this is why Lucia is putting distance between them?

Casa McGuire: Ivan has issues with Tony seeing Carlota, saying they are all cut with the same scissors. Camilo suggests that Tony use the opportunity to find out why Lucia broke up with Ivan, who still can't get over the sudden about-face and suggests that Lucia is free to fly. Tony says he's right, then asks why Ivan can't accept that Lucia isn't in love with him as he thought. Ivan explains that she had been sincere and Tony tells him not to be stubborn, but Ivan is resolute.

Casa Lomiel: Gerry is suffocating in secrets and from his own cowardice. Carolina tells him it isn't his fault and that Alex is happy. Gerry still feels guilty about being cowardly with Lucrazia, Alicia, and now Ivan.

Casa Curiel, night: Lucia and MP have another confrontation.

MP (with mock concern): I see you had little appetite. What happened? Answer me! You ate like a mouse. Did you talk to him, yes or no?
Lucia: We're over. Are you happy?
MP (still mocking): You've done your family duty. Bravo.

She exits in her clubbing dress [way too short for a woman who is almost 30]. Carlota enters at the same moment and asks what MP was trying to say.

Lucia says “Nothing” and goes up to her room to cry; Carlota follows, knocks, and enters.

Carlota: Something tells me something serious just happened. Don't tell me you broke up with Ivan because you're cousins. Daughter, daughter, tell me. You always tell me everything. I don't like you starting with big secrets.


Commercial break

Car, then Bar: Camilo tries to tell Ivan he will get over it, as he once did. That Ivan is rich and can get girls easily. But Ivan can't get it out of his head how suddenly this all happened. Camilo makes the comparison to Merry Piece, but Ivan insists Lucia is different.

MP is with Saul and Antolin and gloating about Lucia breaking up with Ivan. Antolin speculates about the status of the loan, but MP comments that her grandmother will deal with Tony. She then gets up when she spots Ivan. Saul wants to follow her to laugh in his face, but Antolin tells him to sit down. “I don't want another fight.” Smart guy but we still don't know whose side he's on.

Casa Curiel: Lucia spills the beans to Carlota, who fills in the blanks. Carlota is outraged.

Bar: MP insists Ivan introduce her to Camilo. He isn't happy to see her.

MP: Holà. What a miracle. Aren't you going to introduce me to your friend?
Ivan: I tried the other day but you weren't interested.
MP: Sorry. (to Camilo, while extending hand) Maripaz.
Camilo (so not interested): Camilo.
MP (to Ivan): It's a miracle seeing you in a bar.
Camilo: Why? Everyone has the right to have fun in his own way.
MP: But Ivan doesn't look like he's having fun.
Ivan (clearly irritated): What do you want, Maripaz?
MP: Nothing, just came to say hello. But I call it as I see it. I know what happened.

Ivan nods his head with an expression that says he knows what's coming.

Ivan: You don't say.
MP: Of course. Lucia broke up with Saul because she never loved him. He was her novio because my mother insisted as she insisted I marry David.
Ivan: Don't say any more.
MP: But the truth is that she's in love with someone else.
Ivan: With whom?
MP: A university colleague. Poor devil because my mother won't allow it. But I could be wrong. Despite society stuff, she could let her marry anyone just to get her out of the house.
Ivan. Very pretty story.
MP: It's no story, it's true. Ask if you don't believe me.
Ivan: Well, I didn't appear to be distinguished in the eyes of Alamos, but when I proposed to her your mother was more than content to accept me..
MP: Because now you're a McGuire./ Rich, refined, elegant... What is is that Lucia has poco character. But I, when you follow me I'll be delighted...
Ivan; Thanks for your amiable offer, but the fact is that this son of a servant isn't interested. Absolutely. (He finishes his drink and looks up at Camilo). Let's go. (leaves some money on the table as he and Camilo are about to leave.)
Camilo (to a pouting MP): Very bad tactics, honey.
MP: Nobody asked your opinion.
Camilo (grinning at her defeat): It's free. [Bien hecho, Camilo!]

The guys exit and Maripaz sashays back to Saul's table.

Antolin: What happened.
MP: I want to see him dead. The wretch.

But this last line is a figure of speech.

Casa Curiel: A solitary Carlota pours some tea and tries to figure out what to do.

Car: Camilo and Ivan talk about how MP is still an adolescent, then get in with Camilo behind the wheel.

Ivan: What is Antolin doing with these people? This is the second time I've seen him with Saul.
Camilo: Saul has always been a bad loser. Antolin likes hanging with the rich people to sponge money. You can't imagine.
Ivan; Yes, yes, of course/ And what does Godmother say?
Camilo: She has suffered much. To the point of looking for work for him, but I've run out of advice.
Ivan: Your brother deserves an opportunity. When we were kids he was so good with us. If I fought with Saul he took my side.

[Unfortunately I couldn't decipher Camilo's response to that.]


Commercial break opening with a promo for La Rosa de Guadalupe

Casa Curiel, talves much later: MP tries to kiss up to Carlota.

MP: Holà abuelita. Why is the most beautiful grandmother in the world up to all hours? (Carlota slaps her hard. THWAAAACK!) What's up with you?

Carlota: You know perfectly well what's up!
MP: My mother is right. You are crazy. You are the queen of them.

No, Merry Piece, you are the crazy one. Olé, Abue; you are aces in our book.

Casa Curiel, morning Lucia takes her leave of Carlota, who knows she's sad about Ivan.

Lucia: 'bye, Grandma.
Carlota: How are you going?
Lucia: I'm taking a taxi.
Carlota: Work is a distraction.
Lucia: I hope so because I feel very bad.
Carlota: Ànimo!
Lucia: It's that my heart is weighted down. If you could have seen Ivan's face when I said all that.
Carlota: I can imagine. He must also be very sad.
Lucia: May God forgive me, but right now I hate Maripaz. (she kisses Carlota)
Carlota: Take care of yourself, hijita.

Casa McGuire: Tony tries to talk to Ivan about business but Ivan's mind is on Lucia.

Ivan: I've been thinking
Tony: About Lucia. You still haven't accepted that she's ditched you?
Ivan: It was so sudden
Tony: It surprised me, too. So what do you think later?
Ivan: Last night I encountered Maripaz and she came on to me like her old self. She tracked me down.
Tony: Poor girl; she must be sick in the head.
Ivan: I am almost sure that she said or did something to force Lucia into this decision. Cleto, a servant, said they had a serious argument.
Tony: I hope this breakup doesn't make you lose your nerve you've had all these years to stand up to this family.
Ivan: I have nerve, Dad. Lots of nerve.
Tony: Yes, better that Lucia reconsidered and ..
Ivan: No, Dad, she seemed decided.
Tony (getting up): Well, today you're in charge of the computers, graphic systems, TV sets, etc..
Ivan (teasing): I see you're going to visit Carlota and I don't think it's a social call...
Tony: Well, I wouldn't go if things were going well...

They laugh quietly.

Casa Curiel: Lucrazia tells MP she's going with her to the ranch. She's not taking any BS from her

Lucrazia: Maripaz? Good morning!
MP: What's up with the good morning?
Lucrazia: Bad as usual.
MP: I have to tell you you're right. Grandmother is completely insane. She has no idea what she's doing.
Lucrazia: Why?
MP: Last night she greeted me with a slap.
Lucrazia: Ay, what have you done?
MP: Why do you think I'm the guilty one?
Lucrazia: Because I know you and I don't want know how it happened. Now get dressed and we're going.
MP: Where?
Lucrazia: I want you to come with me to the ranch.
MP: The ranch? Today's my day to go to the gym. No me inventes. Mama
Lucrazia: Forget the gym; you're coming with me. Now.
MP: Why? You know I know nothing about agriculture...
Lucrazia: Now it's time you got interested. Don't think about it and don't argue. While you're in this house you will do as I say. I want you ready in half an hour.

She exits and Maripaz plops herself on the bed and pouts.

MP: Everyone is [?} in this house.


Office JJ hands some papers to a secretary, then calls Carlota to tell her Lucrazia gave him nothing. Carlota asks what's his hurry and tells him she's giving the papers to Tony to save him the trouble. She gloats a little as she signs off and hangs up.

Saul comes in to gloat about Lucia breaking up with Ivan. JJ doesn't share his glee:

JJ: Why are you so late? What stupid reason do you have?
Saul: Great news. Lucia broke up with Ivan! (he rubs his hands together, as though he masterminded it)
JJ: Why?
Saul: I don't know but isn't that great?
JJ: Don't talk nonsense. I suppose now the gringo won't help us now that she told his son to go to the devil.

This is a calm before the storm; we all know it.

Casa Curiel Tony arrives and Cleto lets him in. He sits down with Carlota and they start talking.



Avances: Carlota reveals that Alicia was her deceased husband's daughter. Ivan is clearly angry.

Iglesias convinces Sámano that Alejo deliberately diverted the royalist troops and allowed the patriots to escape. Sámano has Alejo put in jail.

A disguised Pola visits Alejo. They haven’t seen each other in two years. It is a meeting of disbelief and misunderstanding. Pola’s refusal to kiss him through the bars of the cell sends Alejo into a state of paranoia. He thinks she has been unfaithful and so he rejects her.

In honor of the birthday of King Fernando VII, Morillo releases all prisoners who will pledge their loyalty to the king. Alejo is released. Pola waits in the shadows, but Don Gaspar, Eusebia and María Ignacia greet him and invite him to stay with them. The inevitable happens. A distraught Alejo steals a kiss from María Ignacia and ends up proposing marriage to her. She quickly accepts.

Francisco appears at the home of María Teresa’s brothers. He remains true to character – an egotistical, superior cad critical of native-born Americans. The ties that bind them are broken forever. He is turned out into the night alone.

In this chapter we also learn that Sámano will be the next representative of the king. Morillo let him bow and scrape and humiliate himself. Sámano has assured Morillo that he knows how to tame this wild beast of America and impose the will of the king upon the land and its people.

Pola caresses the golden medal. It may be all she has left of a battle-fatigued Alejo.

Padre tells Jero to let Renata help in the search for Matilde. To hold his pride back.

Carlos thanks Nata. Nata thanks them to let her help. So good you all leave your pride aside.

Antonio, more pale face than ever, says goodbye to Gina but can’t find the courage to tell her the truth.
She says she always felt friendly love for him. He admits he felt lots of rage in denyal that she never loved him, and that led him to make mistakes. She says he was always wonderful and that Is the memory she wants to keep. Where will you go? Spain and then farther away. Forgive me.

Selena comes to MR manor looking for Berta… Fina tells her she is in Ensenada.
Fina can’t get anyone to stay in her house for more than 2 minutes even by accident. LOL

At Ensenada, Everyone is looking for Mati.

Nata tells Carlos Mati was the only one who was totally honest with her. Carlos gets a chance to appologize to Nata for doubting her before. Nata says he really never doubted her. He admits even if he was supporting Jero, he always tried to get Jero to confront her about it.

Berta tells Augie her mom wants her to return to MC… Augie says that would be a good idea. She takes a cell call from Sele… Berta lies to Sele about being in a beach and fakes asking her about Augie and her. Sele knows she is in Ensenada. Berta mocks Sele on her luck with Augie since he is nowhere to be found in regards to her. When they hang up, Sele accuses Berta of being a hypocrite.

Honorio and Connie make plans to get back together when he gets out of jail. But he is concerned about her safety if she digs too much into the Regina/Renata/Roberta/Fina issue.

Gina tells Ines that Antonio came to say goodbye. Gina admires his gentleman manners. She is thankful to him for his efforts in finding her daughter. She feels sad for having to close some circles (turn over some pages) but she also tells Ines she agreed to marry Gonzo at end of next month. Ines is very happy for her.

Fina finds in the internet how to get a DNA test, can do it via hair or saliva… She gets happy, thinks it is much easier than she thought.

The police commander tells Gonzo, Matt and Connie that Blanca is lost, will be in jail many years… even thought he can’t guarantee they will get all their money back. Gonzo says the safety of his family is what matters and thanks the commander for all his help.

Adri is having second thoughts about calling Chema’s cell phone, since Matt is her boyfriend.

Padre heard that Mati took a bus, but doesn’t know where, just that it was heading south. Jero and Nata tell Carlos that is good news, at least they know she is ok.

Berta and Augie are at the beach alone… Augie brings up the subject that Rafa perhaps did love her. She says lets forget everyone else and enjoy each other…

Manuela and Kari give a piece of their mind to Carlos parents…

Alfonsina tells Ezequiel about Mati’s running away and about the pesticide that has been successful against the plague in all vineyards but its only missing in Cruz de Amor. Ezeq says he will mention it to his boss… She is not sure why they keep on living together… don’t you get tired of being mad at me? He just smirks in anger and leaves. This man surely needs an anger management lesson too... along with his boss the Hulk man...

Jero, Lazaro and Carlos arrive to the hacienda and run into Carlos' parents… Jero is courteous, Lazaro just leaves the room. Sele calls the hacienda, she agrees with Jero to meet at MC the next day, she has something important to tell him about Roberta’s baby… she wants to tell him who was the daddy.

Carlos confronts his parents… blames them for what happened. They continue their stance that they did what was best for him… Carlos yells at them that Mati decided to give them their place. He hands them Mati’s letter to show them why he fell in love with her.

Ezeq mentions to Augie that at La Bonita they were able to end the plague… Augie gets mad and lets Ezeq do whatever he wants. Augie is mad talking to himself 'how could they beat the plague, how???' .. Nata comes in at the wrong time so he yells at her about not coming back earlier. She yells right back saying she won’t let him or anyone yell at her like that.

Carlos stays firm confronting his parents… his parents won’t bulge either… Carlos says Mati might not meet their expectations but she does meet his. (good for you Carlos) His parents say he will always be welcome back home. Carlos says ‘you welcome me! But if you don’t welcome my wife, I will never come back.’ They say never is a strong word. They leave, he falls on couch very upset.

Connie talks to Chema.. is honest and tells him she never really felt love for him. She is getting back with Honorio. Sit tight, Chema, your bad day has only begun.

Adri is with Matias, gives him a collection of videos that he wanted. She says she spent many hours in the internet tracking it. He kisses her, she gets a cell phone call from Chema who needs to talk to her right now…

Antonio comes to the office to say goodbye to Gonzo.. asks him to care for Gina. He claims he is not meaning it as a threat, but if Gonzo does not take care of her, he will come back… (not a threat??)

Augie comes to Nata’s room to try to appologize. She asks him why does he want to control her. He claims it is protection. She does not buy it.
N: I am a woman with wings. If you try to cut them, our relationship will not work. IF you cannot handle the freedom I need then we should call this (relationship) off… you know what I feel for you so we are not lying to each other… think about it. I won’t change who I am for you or for anyone.
He leaves trying to be nice, but really holding his anger. When he leaves the room, Berta is waiting outside the door to mock him.

Jero tries to calm down Carlos, but he just wants to find Mati… Carlos is really desperate, Jero tries to cheer him saying ‘no news is good news’, and says have to go to MC for something really important but will come back tonight to help you look for her. Carlos hopes to find her by then.
Jero won’t tell him what the trip is about until he gets back.

Mati has arrived at what used to be her parents place… She falls asleep in the cot, and later she is confronted by a thug who wants her money, Since she says she has none, he hits her on the head and leaves with her bag.

Matt and Adri at a restaurant… Matt coaches her into cutting off the games with Chema…

Connie and Gonzo at her place… he tells her they will celebrate her reconciliation with Hono, Gonzo asks her when will she tell Hono that she never had anything with Chema. He recommends she clear that up asap… those ghosts of believing you were with another man hurt a good deal. Gonzo tells her Regina agreed to marry him at end of next month. He does not want to tell Fina, just want to finish doing the divorce paperwork. He is certain Fina won’t do anything to cut his plans… she has nothing to do with my life anymore.

Chema tells Adri that Connie breaking up with him did not hurt him as bad as he thought it would, partly because of the kiss they shared the other day. Adri admits she used Chema to get him away from Connie. Chema goes to restroom where he seems to get a mini stroke (at least some HUGE migrain, two rejections in one day… SOMEONE is having a REAL BAD DAY!... )

Fina is alone in her house ‘now I am where I never wanted to be… alone’… she claims that Berta is ungrateful toward her and will have to come back to her, since she has plans for the both of them.

Jero visits Regina to console her for her mom’s loss… tells her to cherish the memories of their good moments together… Gina wishes Cata was able to see her granddaughter again. Gina thanks him for his support… Jero will go right back to the hacienda… had to come for a quick delicate matter… but had to stop to see her… she is very important for him. He is to her too.

Berta keeps making moves at Augie… but he won’t have any… she claims ‘lets see if when you want to, I will want too’.. he assures her she will.

Sele tells Jero that the father of Berta’s baby is not him, but the baby did have his blood… it was the child of his brother Rafael.

Previews: more face-offs with Marina and Nata… Sele tells Jero Berta is sleeping with Augie. Seems like Nata is suspecting something is cooking with Augie and Berta. ‘got something to tell me?’

For those that don’t read Cat-Fight, Teresa slapped Lucia after catching her sketching her husband and thinks she has “the hots” for Arturo. (I know a few Caray, Caray ladies guilty of that.) Teresa tells her to get the hell out, as she puffs up her fur, hisses, snarls, and scratches. She drags the chica by the scruff of her neck and throws her out, whacks her with her purse, and warns her she’s telling Luisa!

Teresa cat-struts back into the library and picks up Lucia’s drawing of Arturo. She purrs under her breath that Arturo is HERS, and that “tipa” is not going to get him.


ZACATECAS
Mariano and Aurora have stumbled upon Juana with Duffberto, who awkwardly sputters news of the wedding to Aurora.

Juana has a heart-to-heart talk with Aurora. Juana tells her she ended her relationship with her dad (Hector) before coming out to Zacatecas. She explains her situation was similar to Aurora’s situation with Martin. Juana is sad because by choosing Doltberto, she may lose Aurora. She loves Aurora like a daughter and asks her forgiveness for the pain she is causing her dad.

Aurora says, “So you’re marrying Dungberto?”

“Yes”, Juana confirms.


HOSPITAL – INCUBATOR ROOM
Ruben is cooing over baby Rodrigo, and says he always wanted a son, and a son of the only woman who he really loved in his life. Esperanza is annoyed. Ruben continues to agitate Esperanza. He says his divorce to Mayra made him realize he never really loved her. Esperanza may not believe him, but he says he loves her. GAK!!


GUIJARRO-BARRERA HOME
As Arturo walks in to tell Teresa his client in Germany loved the designs proposed by Lucia, Teresa tells him she fired the chick. Arturo is aghast; he told Teresa the project is important, Lucia’s work is needed, and her jealousy is absurd. Teresa rebuffs by angrily showing Arturo the sketch of him that Lucia drew.


HOSPITAL – INCUBATOR ROOM
Ruben continues to make unwanted advances on Esperanza. He says he knows if he touches Esperanza, she will re-live the moments they spent together; that his body and hers are meant for each other, as he creepily gets closer to her. Esperanza warns him to stay away. The sick bastard says when she’s with that doctor, think of him in her.

Thankfully Hernan barges in, and Esperanza tells him in the future she doesn’t want to be left alone with Ruben. Ruben barks, “You mean you can’t bear having the temptation of me around, I know you still love and long for me.”

Hernan charges after Ruben and just as the fisticuffs are about to start, Ruben says to back off and not have a scuffle there, for the sake of his son.



GUIJARRO-BARRERA HOME
Teresa asks Arturo if he was posing for Lucia’s drawing. He says of course not. Teresa says she’s not so sure, as Arturo has changed a lot, e.g. his drunkenness. Arturo says anyone who hears her now would think her life with him is hell. Teresa angrily replies it’s not been a bed of roses. Raising her voice she yells that when he drinks, he insults her and takes out all his money problems on her, and to top it off, she has to PUT UP WITH LUCIA’S FLIRTING!!!

Arturo swears Lucia doesn’t mean anything to him and Teresa was wrong in firing her. Teresa begins to storm out of the house, screaming that she’s going to tell Luisa to never speak with Lucia again. Arturo tells her she’s acting like a little girl.

As Teresa storms out of the house, she crashes into Luisa who’s walking in with shopping bags. She yells at Luisa that she CAN’T STAND ALL THE CRAP that she has to take from her brother!!



HOSPITAL – INCUBATOR ROOM
Ruben says he’s sorry they don’t like his presence, but they better get used to it because he’s going to be back often to check on his son, as he slithers out.

When Hernan walked in, she and Ruben were sitting close together, and he doesn’t want to start imagining things, so she should tell him when Ruben comes around. Esperanza says Ruben just wants to harm their relationship and they should ignore him.


GUIJARRO-BARRERA HOME
Arturo wants to chase after Teresa, but Luisa convinced him it’s not a good time for that now; let her cool down. Luisa asks what happened. Arturo explains Teresa’s jealous tirade, sparked by Lucia’s drawing of Arturo. Luisa feels bad, as she asked Lucia to make that portrait, and planned to have one made of Teresa, so each would have a portrait of the other to remember how much they love each other.

OUTSIDE GATES
Teresa storms down the sidewalk, reminiscent of Fred Flintstone stomping around with angry tuba music playing in the background. She spots her new favorite pushover (Fernando) driving up and signals for him to stop. She asks him to get her out of there and they take off.


ZACATECAS – CAFÉ
Aurora tells Mariano that when she saw Juana and Chumpberto together, she knew they were meant for one another. She is sure that her dad is very upset and wants to return to talk with him. Mariano agrees to hold down the fort and handle business matters while she is away.


CACERES HOME
Aida is venting to Oriana that that rrrrrrrata de la vecindad got money to buy Geno’s, Ruben’s, and Aida’s shares of the Turquoise Moon condos. Oriana says the news gets worse – her son Fernando put up the money to help them do it. Oriana says not to worry, she’ll pay above the value for the shares, but what has her worried is she’s not sure if Fernando did this to help Arturo or the arribista Teresa. Aida knows Teresa and says it’s likely Teresa coaxed Fernando for help. Oriana is concerned.



PARK
Teresa and Fernando went out for ice cream cones and are taking a stroll through a park. Fernando wants to know what’s going on and Teresa tells him she learned something terrible: Arturo is cheating on her with Lucia. Fernando is stunned (and gullible).

Teresa says Luisa must have known something about it too; after all, Luisa is friends with Lucia. She now feels both Luisa and Arturo have betrayed her. Teresa moves closer to Fernando. She says she’s resisted her feelings for him, but now, nothing matters, as she moves in for a kiss. Since Fernando’s little appendage is doing all the thinking for him, he goes along with it.

While Teresa is in lip-lock with Fernando, Arturo calls. Teresa ignores her cell phone. Arturo leaves a message explaining the mix up with the portrait.

Teresa continues to play Fernando. As she ignores her cell, she sexily whispers that she’s not going to consider Arturo, but instead do what they really desire, and that is to be with Fernando, while she gives a sarcastic “oh, brother” look. That chick is a real pro. She’d fit right in at certain places in Carson City, Nevada.

GENO’s HOME
Geno is justifying her vengeance of Teresa to Mayra, blaming Ruben’s affair and his fraud on Teresa, which she says really wasn’t fraud.

Mayra corrects her: Esperanza may be Teresa’s friend, but Ruben could have rejected her. Teresa didn’t rob her – Ruben did and the money wasn’t just “missing”, it was fraud. She warns Geno to be careful and not let Ruben do the same to her.


PARK
Things are really steamy now as Fernando is anxious to get something straight between them. (I never get tired of that old joke.) Fernando gets a call from Luisa, and following the evil chica’s lead, which men should never do, he ignores the phone and continues making out with Teresa. Fernando tells her he likes her very much. Teresa tells him they are made for each other; she has his blood inside her.

As Fernando is really getting into it, our Ph.D. in C***Teasing pulls away and says she can’t continue. Fernando says “What are you talking about Teresa, we both feel the same?” Manslation: But I’ve fulfilled my foreplay requirement! She says she cannot “be with” Fernando before she is divorced.

Fernando’s little appendage asks Teresa if she’s really going to get a divorce. The evil chica explains that her marriage to Arturo is hopeless. Although she and Fernando’s little appendage share a special affection, she knows he’s going to marry Luisa. Regardless of that, Teresa intends to get a divorce; she knows her value and her place. Well, she says, let’s eat! Being a slut works up her appetite. She trots off with Fernando in tow, although he can’t walk too well due to a male affliction known as “cojones de azul”. That’s the technical term.


GENO’S WEB OF HORROR
Geno gives Ruben the 3rd degree about why he’s been at the hospital all day. She’s suspicious that he’s there to schmooze with that gata Esperanza. Ruben says of course not, sweet talks her with some bullcorn from The Official Man’s Book of Tricks and Other B.S., and tells her “Paulo’s” condition is improving. The bullcorn seems to work, for now.


FANCY TENNIS CLUB
Lucia apologizes to Luisa for the big mess with Teresa. Lucia tells her that Teresa is quite the aggressive bitch. Luisa says Teresa just loves Arturo and it’s normal to act that way. Lucia says au contraire mon frère it is not normal. Lucia says she wants to talk about it with them face-to-mujerzuela.

CHAVES HOME
It’s nighttime and Arturo is out hunting for his lost gata. He stops by the Chaves house and Armando tells him he hasn’t seen her. He asks, “You mean she didn’t tell you where she was going? Are you having problems again?” Arturo says “No, we’re fine” and leaves. Armando is concerned.

GENO’s MUDHOLE
Geno and Ruben are sitting around shooting the bull about how great it’s going to be to screw over Arturo and Teresa. Aida screeches in and tells them to forget it, and explains that they came up with money from Fernando to buy them out.

PENTHOUSE
That night, Arturo walks in calling for Teresa; she’s not there. Teresa eventually slinks in after a long day of c***teasing. She tells Arturo they seriously need to talk.


GUIJARRO-BARRERA HOME
Fernando has regained movement and walks in as Luisa is coming down the stairs. She calmly asks him where he’s been, and he angrily erupts “WHAT, you’re starting to be like my mother, trying to control me??!!” Luisa is stunned.

Fernando apologizes and attributes his rage to pressures from work and issues with his inheritance. Luisa knows Fernando’s womanizing stage is over (ACK!) so when she asks where he was, it’s just because she cares. Fernando says he’s a fool and she’s an angel. Luisa says, “No, I’m just a woman who loves you so much that I could not live without you.” Feeling bad yet Fernando?

Luisa explains she caused the mix up with Lucia’s portrait and her purpose behind it; to strengthen their relationship. Fernando thinks Art’s and Tere’s relationship can’t be saved and that they will end up divorced. He says there are things he can’t tell her because Arturo is his friend, but he has done some bad things and Teresa has endured much. He and Luisa can’t blame them if they get divorced.


PENTHOUSE
Arturo explains the mix up with the portrait and says Lucia is innocent. Teresa bitches about Lucia liking Arturo, but Art insists he has no interest and they really need Lucia working on the [Germany] project. Arturo reminds Teresa that she wants to improve their economic condition; so she shouldn’t be capricious (caprichosa - new word for me). Arturo wants her to apologize to Lucia. Good luck with that.


ZACATECAS
Churlberto chases down Aurora and hopes everything is cool between them. Aurora, being her sexy awesome self, is gracious and wishes Cheezeberto and Juana happiness, although she’s sad that in this case, her dad is losing out.

The scene cuts to Hector at the hospital lamenting over a picture of he and Juana in better times. He reminisces about his lost love and looks to almost be in tears. Poor Hector. Love definitely hurts man; I recommend a large glass of scotch, followed by a larger glass of scotch, and the VIP room at a certain caberet I’ve “only heard of”.

PENTHOUSE
The next morning Arturo finally convinces a very reluctant Teresa to apologize, although she feels this is a humiliation for her.

Armando is at the door and he says it is obvious things are not going well between Art and Teresa. Teresa asks him not to interfere and let them fix their problems. Armando tells Arturo he is resigning and if there are further problems between Art and Tere, the little shark should move back home with her parents in the vecindad! Teresa and Arturo both look at Armando like he’s one taco short of a fiesta platter.

GUIJARRO-BARRERA HOME
Luisa thanks Fernando for helping Arturo with the Turquoise Moon situation. After she leaves, Oriana wants to know what the frill is wrong with Fernando. He bluffs that he’s nervous about the wedding and inheritance. Oriana is concerned that Fernando is not attentive to wedding matters and he needs to choose... what he’s going to prioritize, but it almost seemed like she was going to say he needed to choose between Luisa and Teresa.


LIBRARY / OFFICE
Lucia says Teresa wouldn’t even listen to her and slapped her. Arturo is surprised; he didn’t know about the slap. He apologizes and asks her to continue working with him. Lucia says it’s Teresa that needs to offer an apology. Art says Teresa is here to do just that, offer an apology.

Teresa pops out from behind the curtains like a Shark-in-the-Box.

Teresa acts like a seventh-grader and offers a non-apology apology to Lucia while emphatically asking her again if she wants Arturo. Lucia says “No”, and doesn’t need the angst of working there. Arturo again pleads with her to stay and says he’ll talk with his arribista – er, his wife. Lucia agrees to stay for the Germany project only, after which, her boobs and butt are out of there.

ZACATECAS
Fuzzberto and Juana call the vecindad gang and talk about them hopefully joining them on their wedding day. FF>>


HOSPITAL
Hector is greeted by Aurora and she tells him that Juana went to Zacatecas to marry Oafberto. They talk about lost love and other mushy stuff, and decide that Aurora should return to Zacatecas to help with the clinics and to tell Juana to be happy.

ZACATECAS
Juana and Phlegmberto are shopping for wedding dresses and other horrifying girly stuff. Ugh FF>>

PATTY’S PLACE
Johnny and Patty are excited that their curmudgeon Gramps left them a note saying he hired a nurse to take care of him, so they can go to Zacatecas for a pseudo-honeymoon. I wonder if anyone has had “the talk” with Johnny.


LIBRARY / OFFICE
The next day, the RRRRata Pack (thanks for that one Jardinera) Ruben, Geno, and Aida, are there to discuss Turquoise Moon with Fernando, Arturo, Teresa, and a Notary. Ruben makes a snide remark about Fernando having to be there because without money, Arturo couldn’t buy anything.

Arturo says fortunately, he has friends that are loyal and true. Geno says the whole thing is an outrage, Arturo should sell. Arturo says nothing doing – the RRRRRata Pack’s intention was to hurt him and Teresa.

Teresa says Notary Almanza certifies that Arturo bought the rest of the Turquoise Moon shares. Then she glares at Aida, leans over to hand her a pen, and smugly asks her to review/sign the damn documents.

ZACATECAS
Mariano is excited to see Aurora has returned to Zacatecas and gets kissy-kissy. Aurora says not so fast. The best she can do is have Mariano be her date at Juana’s and Tootberto’s wedding.


LIBRARY / OFFICE
Arturo and Teresa thank Fernando for his help with the Turquoise Moon deal. Teresa and Fernando share a hug practically in front of Arturo (the poor clown) that is wrought with “wink-wink nudge-nudge say-no-more” innuendo.


ZACATECAS
Aurora and Mariano go for a stroll and share romantic banter. They reach a beautiful view of the city and Mariano says, “Aurora, on one occasion I stole a kiss and only got you in trouble.” Aurora says, “Ah yes, I remember it well.”

Mariano softly says, “Well, do not worry, because I will not do that anymore, I now wait patiently for you to give it to me, because with that kiss, you will be agreeing that we are boyfriend/girlfriend (novios).

Aurora asks, “And how long do I have to decide?” Mariano says, “All my life, I am willing to wait forever. And your time starts now...” As he starts to count the seconds, he makes it to eleven, when Aurora’s resistance melts, and they share a passionate kiss.

Baraya, José Camilo Torres, Jorge Tadeo, and Sabio Caldas are executed. The pleas of the ladies of society fall on deaf ears. Morillo will grant no pardons.

Pola becomes a recruiter in the Almeida brothers’ underground operation. She mourns Alejo, and is confused and horrified by feelings awakened in her by Ambrosio Almeida.

Sámano tells Alejo that he doesn’t believe he is sincere in his professed loyalty to the crown. Nevertheless, he accepts Alejo as an ordinary soldier and considers his debt to Leandro paid by doing so.

María Teresa sees divine signs and concludes that she should leave the convent and return to Santa Fé with her parents. They are doubtful of her motives when they find out that Alejo is in Sámano’s army which is headed to Santa Fé.

The patriots ambush Sámano’s advance guard, but miss him, which sets Pola in action. She aims a pistol and is ready to shoot a soldier who is poised to return fire. That soldier is Alejo.

Fernando has refused to open an office for Teresa (gasp). She figures it’s because she doesn’t have Arturo’s prestige or experience. No, he says, it’s because of Arturo that he doesn’t want to offer this to Teresa. Arturo’s very proud and feels he’s lost it all. If Fernando turns his back on him now by offering this to Teresa, he’ll only feel worse. Teresa has also thought about that but she’s so worried that Arturo doesn’t seem to want to climb out of this hole and on top of that, his problem with alcohol. She’s so distraught but she say she shouldn’t talk to him about these things. Fernando begs her to tell him what’s going on. Oh, so many things, she says, she’s desperate!

ZACATECAS: Mariano is overjoyed to see Aurora. She explains Magda and Dario’s visit. She’s here to help him. They get serious and he moves in for a kiss but she steps back at the last second, saying she’s come to work. She says a quick hello to Doofusberto and then she and Mariano start talking business about the clinics and agree to get to work.

PENTHOUSE: Teresa thinks it’s best for Fernando to leave now. He’s not budging till she tells him what is happening between her and Arturo. She’s concerned he’ll tell Arturo and they’re in enough trouble as it is. He tells her he may not be able to have her handle his legal issues but he can buy Luna Turqueza. That would be wonderful but she reminds him Arturo refuses to sell. He suggests buying out the other shareholders, Genorubiiiiida. He knows it’s a great prospect and it can’t fail despite Ruben or Aida. She’s so grateful he’d consider doing that.

CASA CACERES: Arturo visits with Mayra. He’s looking for Aida, who isn’t there. He mentions Luna Turqueza but then changes his mind and starts to leave. She holds him back and tells him she knew of Aida’s interest in buying Martin’s shares despite her disapproval. She mentions Aida’s vengeful motive. Arturo tells her Ruben ended up buying the shares. Mayra’s in disbelief. Arturo tells her Ruben verified Aida doesn’t care if they lose money so long as Arturo and Teresa don’t earn a single peso.

PENTHOUSE: Teresa tells Fernando he is truly special and suggests he come back tomorrow so he and Arturo can discuss his plan. Before he can leave, she asks him how he’s doing with regards to the wedding, now that there are only 2 weeks left.

CASA BARRERA: Odiosa is looking at the invitations (with only 2 weeks left?) and gushing about the wedding. She’s so happy knowing he’s marrying Luisa.

PENTHOUSE: Fernando confirms everything is on schedule for the wedding. Teresa wishes him well and hopes he doesn’t experience what they did, meaning the problems they’ve had in such short a time. She chokes up as she says how incredible it is that you would think everything would be great once you’ve found the love of your life. But then you start noticing the differences. She asks if he’s sure about marrying Luisa, despite everything that’s happened. He says he loves Luisa and everything is ready for the wedding. He thought he’d never marry, but even so…….through crocodile tears, she tells him she knows they’ll be very happy. He again asks her what’s wrong. Oh, nothing, she says, it really wouldn’t be a good idea for her to work for him. It’s not a good idea for them to be together. He goes in for the kiss and they start smooching. Mala! Malo!

CASA BARRERA: Luisa tells Mommy Dearest that Fernando had to run off to the construction site/office about some problem or other. Odiosa finds this strange because she went by there and didn’t see him.

BACK AT THE CONTSTRUCTION SITE, AHEM, PENTHOUSE: Teresa breaks away saying they can’t do this. She’s married to Arturo and Fernando’s about to marry Luisa, whom he loves! They’d already agreed nothing could happen between them. He wants to know what she feels. She tells him that should be obvious. He responds by saying he’s fascinated by her. She stops him and tells him he should please leave and consider this good-bye. She can’t stop thinking that Luisa is her friend and Arturo is his friend. He begins walking to the door but she calls him back and then, no, never mind. He comes back to her and goes in for another kiss – she pushes him back and reminds him this is their secret. She once again asks him to leave, which he does – all hot and bothered. As soon as he leaves, she gets on the phone with Arturo (who is now at Geno’s) to apologize for her outburst. He’s glad to hear she’s realized he’s not at fault for what Aida and Ruben are prepared to do. She says this shouldn’t separate them and asks him to come home so they can talk.

Arturo is at Geno’s to reason with her. What they’re about to do makes no sense. She’s sorry, but maybe it’s best they are no longer partners. She’s never had a problem with him but now that he’s on Teresa side, well that’s a different matter. She brings up the fact that he wouldn’t help out Ruben when he was in jail. Arturo says Ruben knew he wasn’t in a position to help him because of Saenz and that ended up ruining him. Ruben walks in and tells him there is nothing to talk about. Arturo tells them he and Teresa are not about to give up their shares so easily and are not able to buy out Genorubiiiiida. Ruben tells him now he knows what it’s like not being able to count someone he thought of as a friend. Ouch!

CASA BARRERA: Fernando arrives and immediately runs into Mom who asks where he’s been because she didn’t see him at the construction office.

CHEZ GENO: Geno starts calling Teresa names (descarada) and Arturo shouts at her to stop. Ruben tells him not to speak to her that way. If he’s hurt, well too bad, he’s the one who believed Teresa was a saint. She plays a double sided game, using her youth and beauty and Arturo fell for it. It’s time he realized what Teresa’s really like. If he continues by her side, he’ll end up losing friends and much, much worse. Arturo feels Ruben is just trying to win back Aida. He repeats that they will not sell their shares.

CASA BARRERA: Fernando resents mama trying to tell him what to do. Oriana acts as though she was just wondering if everything was ok, why is he acting this way? He lashes out at her, saying he’s a grown man about to get married and no one controls him. Mama knows something’s awry. Fernando bursts into the den. Luisa’s concerned but he assures her everything is honky-dory. She shows him the invitations and he pretends he cares.

VECINDAD: Refugio always knew Juana loved Twitberto. Juana yammers on about her love for the idiot but also about how she hated to hurt Hector, she’s worried about losing Aurora’s affection yadda, yadda, yadda.

PENTHOUSE: Luisa delivers the invitation to Teresa who comments about it being customary for the novios to deliver them together. (I wanna know, do they always deliver these invitations in person? TN always show the couple personally delivering invitations – just curious). Teresa ponders on how things are: Fernando is so busy with his new businesses, plane, etc. while she and Arturo are on the brink of losing Luna Turqueza. Luisa sympathizes with her. Teresa tells her Arturo is doing what he can to save their Luna Turqueza shares. She’s doing her part by showing him she loves him and will stand by him with or without Luna Turqueza. Yeah, riiiiiiiight. After Luisa leaves, Teresa ponders out loud. Luisa will marry Fernando if Arturo accepts his help. If not, Teresa will have to step in as the bride. Wow!

CASA CACERESA: Mayra is giving Aiiiiiiida a dressing down about the whole Luna Turqueza mess. Aida assures her she’s not using Mayra’s money. Ruben was able to raise the money. She says she doesn’t know from where but she’s happy he’s stepping up. She’s happier still that he’s supporting her in her fight against Teresa.

PENTHOUSE: Arturo arrives and tells Teresa that Geno and Ruben refuse to back down. Teresa wants to forget about all that for tonight and proposes a toast, promising to stand by him. He’s surprised she’s changed her attitude so quickly. She tells him it’s because she loves him, etc. etc.

HOSPITAL: Oh, poor Rodriguito is still in the incubator but he’s none too happy about it, flailing and wailing his little lungs out while Espe gives Hernan her opinion on the Juana/Hector/Jughead situation. Ruben walks in.

PENTHOUSE: Teresa and Arturo are having another drink! Wait a minute, I thought Arturo wasn’t supposed to imbibe? Anyway, he says Aida is seeking revenge because of Mariano. According to Aida, Mariano won’t come back to her because Teresa still has the hots for him. She asks how he can think that, as she pours him yet another drink so they can talk. She assures him she loves him. He says he wouldn’t put up with her cheating on him again. She assures him that won’t happen. Arturo downs his drink as she looks on gleefully. (How could I be so stupid, she’s getting him drunk on purpose!)

ZACATECAS, ZACATECAS: So nice, they named it twice! (sorry, couldn’t pass it up). Maurora enjoy a meal al fresco. He toasts to her being here with him and the next few days.

CASA BARRERA: Luisa tells Oriana Lucia will be helping out with the invitations and Oriana tells her they better get a move on. Fernando comes in and barks at his mother, telling her not to worry about it, it will get done. Uh-oh, someone’s getting a little testy. He even shouts at her, telling her to let him do things his way! Luisa attempts to be the peacemaker, telling Oriana they’ll take care of it once he’s talked to Arturo.

ZACATECAS: Now Maurora are strolling along as they talk of the work they need to do.

PENTHOUSE: SAY IT AN’T SO, ARTURO! My hunkasaurus is one big drunkasaurus, passed out on the living room floor. Doorbell rings and Teresa runs in from the bedroom. She makes sure Art is where she left him and then makes sure her robe has fallen open before she opens the door. She tells Fernando she forgot he was coming by after everything that happened last night. He’s come just in time to help her. She drags him in and leads him to Arturo. Fernando is disgusted. She’s so afraid, she hugs him of course.

HOSPITAL: Juana has the nerve to visit Hector. He tells her he’s destined to be alone. So many years passed before he even noticed another woman after what Aurora’s mother did to him. She doesn’t deserve to be referred to by name. Juana wonders if he’s going to feel the same bitterness toward her.

PENTHOUSE: As Teresa steps over an overturned platter, Fernando asks if this happens often. She prefers not to talk about that now. She asks Fer to help Arturo to the sofa while she gets dressed. Oh, Fer, you dog, you! He keeps an eye on Teresa as she undresses while he helps Arturo. With a friend like that,………

HOSPITAL: Juana tries to explain how things happened. She broke up with Jughead with no explanations and then Hector showed up. She really appreciates how wonderful he’s been with her. He understands but that doesn’t take away the hurt he feels. Her heart is breaking, (yeah, yeah, just get outta here, will ya?) She hopes he’ll forgive her one day. She leaves and Hector is left, broken……..waaaaaah. Ah, Juana can go back to her illiterate, talentless buffoon and live happily ever after on what she makes as a seamstress. Hector deserves better.

PENTHOUSE: Fernando says he’ll try to wake up Arturo and talk to him. Teres tells him Arturo is upset over the Luna Turqueza problem. He spoke with Ruben & Co yesterday. He needs to feel he can resolve this. She asks him to please help Arturo. Fer is astounded she can be worried about him in his state. She brings on the tears. Oh, woe is me!

ZACATECAS: Mariano, Aurora, and Jughead are together and true to form Jughead opens his big fat trap and says he’s here to forget about “his Juanita”. Aurora tells him Hector is asking Juana to set a date for the wedding. He blabs about losing her when he told her he wanted to have a slew of kids not knowing she was infertile. Aurora hadn’t heard this part of the story.

PENTHOUSE: Fernando asks Teresa to call him next time Arturo starts drinking but before it gets to this point. For now, Fer says he’s going to throw him in an ice-cold tub. Arturo starts to stir and Teresa begins to scold him about how much he drank last night. Arturo can’t remember a thing. She asks if he truly can’t remember anything he told her or what he did to her!

ZACATECAS: Aurora wasn’t aware that Juana had feelings for Jughead. He tells her of his ultimatum – that he’ll wait to marry her here in Zacatecas, although he doesn’t think that will happen. Aurora’s stunned.

PENTHOUSE: Arturo wants to know what happened. He becomes aware that Fer is here. She has a flashback of what happened last night: She gets him drunk til he passes out and sets the scene, rolls him onto the floor, empties the bottle into a potted plant, breaks the glass on their wedding photo, and tosses the contents of a platter onto the floor. She tells him she can’t believe he doesn’t remember anything. She leaves in a huff. Fer starts in on him, telling him he ended up on the floor! Doesn’t he realize what this is doing to Teresa? Door bell! No, it’s not the landshark, but it’s Refugio, who is surprised to see him so ill.

CASA BARRERA: Lucia and Luisa are addressing invitations. Luisa tells her about Arturo’s ongoing financial woes and how Fernando wants to help. She wonders how Lucia is doing on that favor of hers…..guess we’ll find out soon.

PENTHOUSE: Arturo talks to Refugio who ends up warning him that if this drunkenness continues, she and her husband will take Teresa back to their houses. Yeah? You and what army?

HOSPITAL: Hernan tries to console Hector who tells him how much he’d like to run after Juana. He truly loves her very much.

CASA BARRERA: Luisa tells Teresa of Oriana’s argument with Fernando. Teresa is on Fer’s side, of course. Teresa is frustrated that Luisa didn’t have the nerve to tell Oriana she preferred the favors they chose over the ones Oriana chose. Teresa warns her that if she doesn’t start standing up to her monster-in-law, Oriana will always be making the decisions. Juana arrives with Lucia’s dress and finds out she left when Arturo didn’t show up. Luisa leaves to take a call. Teresa tells Juana this is proof that Lucia is only here because of Arturo. Juana ignores this and tells her she’s chosen Jughead as her knight in not-so-shining armor. She loves him and can’t live without him. She knows he has no money but neither does she and she knows they’ll be very happy. Teresa is not happy, to say the least.

PENTHOUSE: Art tells Fer he all he remembers of the night before was that Teresa wanted to have dinner together so they could talk about how they could get out of this mess with Luna Turqueza. He tells him of Genrubiiiiida’s offer to either sell their shares or buy them out. Fer suggests Art accept his help. Art doesn’t want to be indebted to him because he will soon be married to his sister. Fer is going to tell him how they can avoid him feeling indebted.

CASA CACERES: Ruben tells Aiiiiiida that Mayra wants him to convince Aida not to pressure Arturo and Teresa about Luna Turquesa. Aida knows her mother is convinced that vengeance won’t solve anything but Aida’s convinced that no one can keep her from that satisfaction. Ruben tells her Mayra was furious and insulted him but he’s not changing his mind. He will support her in anything just as she’s supporting him with regards to his son, right? Only because it bothers Teresa, she replies. Ruben admits this is why he’s continuing in his fight for his paternal rights – because it will bother Teresa and Arturo who are the godparents. He is just as anxious as Aida to see Teresa fail.

PENTHOUSE: Teresa arrives just as Arturo and Fernando come to an agreement about Luna Turqueza. She’s pleased and hugs Arturo while she mouths “gracias” to Fernando and he nods back. Slimebags, both of them!

In the morning, Teresa tells Arturo she’s very happy about Luna Turqueza but warns him she will leave him if he continues to drink. She also wants him to get rid of Lucia. He can’t believe she’d be jealous when he only has eyes for her.

CASA CHAVEZ: Refugio and Armando talk about Art and Teresa. Refugio thinks it’s a good idea for him to find employment elsewhere in the event the Barreras are divorced. Armando doesn’t look so sure about that.

PENTHOUSE: Teresa invites Aida into her home. They trade insults and Aida gets to the point. She wants to know which notario to use to sign the papers re: the sale of their Luna Turqueza shares. Teresa thinks it’s a good idea they choose carefully lest they end up with a bamboozler like her father. She names an office but tells her the deal will be to buyout Genorubiiiida! Aiiiiiida is dumbfounded!!!

CASA BARRERA: Oriana confronts Fernando about wanting to buy Luna Turqueza and why he wanted to get involved. Fer feels the Genorubiiida offer was an injustice. He’s convinced Luna Turqueza is an excellent business opportunity provided of course it isn’t mishandled at the whim of certain shareholders. Oriana asks again why he stepped in. Is it to help Arturo? Or Teresa? He tells her she can think what she wants and walks out on her.

BACK AT THE PENTHOUSE, Aida can’t believe what she’s hearing. Oh believe it, Teresa tells her. Their plan backfired because they made their proposal in writing, signed by all three. She feels so sorry for Aida. She doesn’t have Paulo, she doesn’t have Mariano, and now she’s stupidly fighting with her mother over her father. How can she be so naïve as to forgive Ruben? Maybe it’s because she’s seen how much he loves his male child. Seriously, now that he has the judge’s ok, a day doesn’t pass that he doesn’t visit and coo over him, telling him he can’t wait for the day they can share everything man to man. Ouch!

ZACATECAS: More Chamber of Commerce visuals of the city and Maurora taking in the sights. She doesn’t want to talk about them. He tells her all the time she spent in Cuernavaca seemed like an eternity to him. He missed her voice and her smile. She feels the same and he says they should stop suffering like this and she should give them a chance. She figures this is where she should say she still wants to think about it. He says he’ll continue to……she interrupts him, saying they need to eat.

Yuk! I think I’m gonna be ill. Juana has arrived in Zacatecas. She and Jughead meet and she runs into his arms. He can’t believe she’s there and asks if she’s done with the Doctor. He asks if she’s here to marry him. She assures him she is. They kiss and Juana comes face to face with Aurora! AWKWARD!

CASA BARRERA: Lucia is in the den finishing up that sketch of Arturo. Teresa is on the balcony and gets a glimpse of it and rushes downstairs demanding to see it! Tear her eyes out Tere! They fight over it. Tere snatches it out of her hands and then WACKALA! She slaps Lucia! She snaps her fingers at her and tells her to clear on out of there, now!!!!

We start off with David hired by Anthony. David asks if Ivan would have a problem with rumors flying around town that he's interested in Maripaz. Anthony clarifies that he's not interested in her and if he were they don't mix business with personal life.

Gerry and Camilo talk construction. Ivan walks in and takes over.

Judith and Maripaz go visit Anthony to make their "decorating" proposal. Maripaz makes herself at home. She makes the presentation as if she did all the work with Judith rolling her eyes.

Ivan takes the chance while speaking with Gerry that he and Lucia are novios. Gerry is very happy over the news.

Carlota tells Lucia that she forgot to tell her that Carolina called for her.

Carolina says she called to find out how she's doing since she hasn't heard from her in a while. Lucia gives her the good news that she and Ivan are now novios. Carolina is happy and Gerry walks in. She tells Gerry and he tells her that Ivan already spilled the beans.

Maripaz is home and starts yelling that the "old man" refused her decorating proposal after all the work she did. Lucrecia asks her what she's talking about. Anthony McGuire replies Maripaz. I offered to decorate his house and he didn't like my proposal. Lucrecia asks since when has she been a decorator? I'm not, but Judith is replies Maripaz. Lucrecia says it's best. I don't want you around the McGuire's anyway. Maripaz replies it was the only way for her to be close to Ivan and now that "old man" took it away from her. Lucrecia tells her to forgot about Ivan. Today he asked her to be "novios" with Lucia and she accepted. How could you yells Maripaz. You forbade me. I changed my opinion replies Lucrecia. So what? Where is she yells Maripaz as she walks away. Lucrecia follows.

Carlota asks Lucia how old Alex is. Suddenly Maripaz comes storming into Lucia's room and says "You finally found what you wanted, but you wouldn't be able to marry him since he's your cousin." Lucrecia tells her to be quiet, but Maripaz keeps talking. Cousins do not marry. Explain to her, Abuela. Carlota spills the beans to Lucia. She tells her that Alicia, Ivan's mother, was Teodoro's daughter. But Ivan is not your cousin. Lucrecia begs her mom to stay quiet. Carlota tells her that if we are going to air out the dirty laundry, then let's let it all out. There is no blood between you because your mother is not the daughter of Teodoro Curiel! Stunned faces from the girls. Lucrecia laughs it off saying her mother is loosing her mind. She is Teodoro's daughter. Carlota says it's not a lie. She married Teodoro pregnant with another man's baby. Lucrecia still says that her mother is crazy and when Lucia tries to defend her grandmother, Lucrecia says that what she says is the truth. Otherwise she will take back her permission that she and Ivan are novios. (What is Lucia 5?)

Ivan tells Camilo that he and Lucia are officially novios. Camilo can't believe that Lucrecia accepted it. He warns Ivan to watch out. She probably wants something. And wait til Maripaz finds out. She'll make a bad enemy. Ivan says what can she do? I'm not worried. (famous last words my friend)

Carolina and Gerry are talking about Ivan and Lucia. Carolina thinks that if they marry then they will have kids and Ivan will forget about is lost child. Gerry doesn't think so. Plus he's also feeling guilty every time he sees him. Carolina tells Gerry not to do anything foolish that he might regret later.

Maripaz and Lucia are still arguing about being related to Ivan. Maripaz says you can't marry your cousin, Lucia says you can with permission and tests. Plus you had a child with him and he came out alright. Anyway I believe my grandmother. Maripaz asks if her mother lied. Carlota says that their mother always loved being a "Curiel" and Teodoro was a well known and liked man throughout the world. Maripaz asks Carlota who the heck did she "kick it" with then? Lucia tells Maripaz to respect their grandmother. Maripaz says when I got pregnant everyone looked down on me. They same thing happened to her, but I didn't have the opportunity to marry a rich man to over up the scandal like she did. Lucia calls her garbage. Maripaz starts yelling at Lucia and getting in her face. Carlota has to get in the middle and then throws Maripaz out. Carlota says perhaps I said too much. Lucia tells her it's best to get everything out. It's not good to hold it all in. I love you.

Anthony goes to visit JJ and tells him that he gave David a job. JJ says he's a good for nothing, but Anthony says I think he is. He received good grades in school and managed your affairs rather well. Well yes, replies JJ. But I had to tell him how and what to do all the time. He also has a timid character. Anthony tells JJ that he doesn't care about personal things. David gave him a good impression and he needed the job. Well, it's on you says JJ. But if he fails, don't get angry with me. Anthony assures him he doesn't think David will fail him.

Lucrecia is in her room and Carlota comes in to give her apologizes. Lucrecia always wanted her daughters to be proud that they come from a good, respectable family. Not ordinary like Ivan. Carlota says nothing has to leave this house. It can still be our secret. What if one of the girls spills the beans asks Lucrecia. Once Ivan gets word, he'll come for his inheritance. Carlota says Ivan won't do that. He has no need for it. Lucrecia says he would. He hates us. Now leave me alone!

Camilo asks Ivan if he really is in love with Lucia. They talk about their sufferings. Their lives.

David tells Edith that he found a job with Mr. McGuire. Edith tells him that once his dad finds out, he's going to be upset. Both Maripaz and Lucia are seeing Ivan. That's why Lucia broke it off with Saul.

The boys (Ivan and Camilo) get an ice cream. Ivan talks about his lost son. They toss around ideas and theories. Camilo says Gerry has a son the same age your own son would be. Ivan wants to know when Gerry got married and where.

Maripaz complains to her friends that Lucia stole her novio from her.

Celia makes lunch for Camilo. They sit down to eat and Camilo asks her if she remembers their conversation the other night regarding Gerry and his little boy. Well I got to thinking today and what if that little boy was really Ivan's? Camilo explains his theory. Celia says I hope you didn't tell Ivan. Camilo says he did. Did Alicia ever tell you that Gerry was kicking it with another? Celia says she never did. And I don't want you getting involved in all this.

Anthony tells Ivan that Maripaz came to present her "decorating" ideas, but he didn't like it. So he contracted someone else. So how did she take it asks Ivan? She held on to her anger. Also I hired David and went to visit JJ to tell him. And how did JJ take it asks Ivan? He also held on to his anger replies Anthony. They both share a laugh.

JJ is home whining and complaining about Anthony hiring David. He says it appears he's really not such a friend after all. What did he do to you asks Edith. Because of him, all my friends will be laughing at me replies JJ. All because of David. What did our son do asks Edith? Our idiot son asked him for a job and the old man gave it to him replies JJ. Well he left the house and he needed a job says Edith. So he had to go to him and ask for a job asks JJ? Put me to shame? He did it on purpose! Saul walks in and JJ says did you know that David asked Anthony for a job and that your ex-girlfriend is now going with Ivan? And what do you want me to do asks Saul? Nothing replies JJ. Even I can't do nothing, but stand around with my arms crossed. My children just want me to look bad. Saul gets angry and says he wanted to get some guys to beat up Ivan, but he said no. Because you idiot, then all eyes would have been on you replies JJ. So what do I do asks Saul? JJ looks at him in frustration and walks away. Edith and Judith run up to Saul and beg him not to do anything stupid. Saul gets mad and walks off. Judith tells Edith that Saul won't do anything.

Lucia tells David that she and Ivan are novios. David warns her that he had a thing with Maripaz. Lucia says that is all clarified now. David tells her that he found a job with Anthony. She congratulated him. Suddenly Maripaz walks in and takes the phone away from her. She hangs up the phone and asks Maripaz if she was talking to her boyfriend? Lucia says I was talking to David. Maripaz asks what do you have with him? None of your business replies Lucia. The phone rings again and it's David, but Maripaz won't let her answer. Maripaz tells Lucia that when she was younger she was in love with Ivan. But of course he was a man and he couldn't become involved with someone as young as you were back then. He needed a woman and that woman was me. Lucia says yes, but you made him feel unappreciated and beneath you. Well we now that story. It's that we loved each other with a passion replies Maripaz. I had his son. We have a bond that is really hard to break. You broke it when you wanted to get rid of the child says Lucia. But I didn't do it replies Maripaz. The child disappeared. Ivan returned and we renewed our relationship. We even made love. Ivan says that didn't happened says Lucia. He lied replies Maripaz. I believe him says Lucia. Of course replies Maripaz. Woman in love become dumb. But I don't care who you believe. He continues to be my man. Perhaps for you, but not for him says Lucia. He would still be if you hadn't interfered replies Maripaz. I didn't interfere says Lucia. Of course you did replies Maripaz. What he wants to do is hurt me. Because he cares for me. So Ivan isn't for me, then he won't be for you. So how are you going to do that asks Lucia. Very easy replies Maripaz. You are very much for my grandmother right? If you don't break your commitment with Ivan, the whole town will know about her past. And our mother is a bastard. I have nothing to lose. Everyone says I'm a drunk. Another thing added to my rep is no big deal. So break it off or I tell everything! Lucia runs after Maripaz and tries to reason with her. If she breaks if off with Ivan, he won't return to her. Why not asks Maripaz? Because of the child replies Lucia. If you haven't opened your big mouth and told him that the child wasn't dead he wouldn't have left me says Maripaz. We couldn't let him believe that the child was dead says Lucia. What did you accomplish by telling him the truth asks Maripaz? Did he find him? You only did it to make me look bad. You did it to look good to him. You know what to do and Maripaz storms off.

Ivan is in a flower shop and picks out a purple orchid. Then he's at a jewelers picking out a ring.

Clayto tells Gloria that the girls were fighting about a child that was not dead. He tells her that Maripaz when she was a young girl would sneek into Ivan's room. They put 2 and 2 together and come up with 4. Then Gloria tells Clayto that Gerry was really attentive and nice to Alicia. They put 2 and 2 together and come up with 4. Smart. Not ususal in novelas.

Carlota tells Lucia that she worries about word getting out and affecting Lucrecia. Lucia asks about Lucrecia's father. Carlota says it was a man that came on a construction job. She fell in love and when he found out she was pregnant, he left. She thinks he was married. Lucia asks if she remembers his name. Felipe Delmonte replies Carlota. Gloria brings a flower arrangement to Lucia. She opens the letter, it reads: My love, they say that orchids last for a long time. But I hope our love lasts forever. Lucia gets emotional and Carlota asks her what's wrong? Lucia blames it on her emotions. Carlota says there are 2 things that make happiness more complete. The love of a good man and the light in a child's eyes. You have the first and I hope soon you will have the second. Ivan calls and asks if she received the flower. Yes and thank you she replies. I have another gift for you says Ivan. Can I come by later and give it to you? Lucia tells him that she's not feeling well. Of course he gets all concerned. She tells him that she just wants to rest. Ivan says he's going to visit her anyway. She begs off and says she'll see him tomorrow. Carlota asks her what the heck is going on? Lucia says she doesn't feel like seeing anyone today. Carlota says but he's your boyfriend. I just want to be alone. Carlota says she's going to find out what's wrong with her but leaves for now.

Ivan picks up his phone then throws it down. Changes his mind and leaves his hotel room to drive to Lucia's house. Clayto greets him and Ivan says he wants to see Lucia. Carlota tells Clayto that she will get Lucia. Carlota finds Lucia crying. What's wrong she asks? I can't believe what I told you about myself and your mom has put you this way. Just the shock replies Lucia. Carlota tells her that Ivan is here to see her. Lucia tells her that she doesn't want to see him. Tell him I'm already asleep.

Carlota tells Ivan that's she's asleep. Ivan isn't buying it. Carlota doesn't know why she doesn't want to see him. Did you guys fight? No, nothing replies Ivan. Did something happen? Did Saul come and bother her? Carlota says a family problem. Just give her time replies Carlota. I'm sure tomorrow she will be okay. Ivan agrees and tells Carlota that he will be back tomorrow to see Lucia.

Ivan asks Clayto if he would answer a question for him. Clayto asks if it's regarding the fight the girls had today? Fight questions Ivan? Wasn't that what you were going to ask says Clayto. No, but I'm interested in the fight says Ivan. Well, I didn't hear anything replies Clayto. Maripaz took her car and left and Lucia was sad. He tries to ask more questions but Clayto ain't budging. Then Ivan asks about Alicia. Did she have a boyfriend? Clayto says she didn't but Ivan isn't believing him.

Tomorrow: Lucia tells Ivan she wants to break it off with him.
