La Que No Podía Amar #58 Friday 3/16/12 A Family Affair or Gus Who’s Coming To Dinner
As we return to the frigid and more remote wilds boondocks of Chiapas, Ana Paula’s angry slap across Hubby-in-Name-Only, Rogelio’s, face--satisfying for all of us as it was--is only the beginning of this screech-fest. Ro-Hell’s obliging lip-lock on the public square in San Gabriel with Paula’s own flesh and blood sister is practically akin to incest for gawd sakes! Her own sister! Rog tells her she’s full of it cuz she wasn’t raised with the woman and they don’t seem even remotely alike. His puppy-dog eyes begin to twinkle ever so slightly, though, as he states to Pau her problem is she’s jealous!
In Tuxtla, Efrain runs into Macaria at a little shop. He stoops down to help her pick up some dropped souvenirs (no doubt sneaking another gander at her voluptuous upper torso) and he mentions he’s been fired from the hacienda. He’s thinking of doing some sightseeing with them, maybe, in Mexico. Ulises sees no problem with it and says sure thing, buddy. Mi familia es tu familia.
Back at Hacienda del Fuerte in AP’s bedroom, Pau tells Rog it isn’t jealousy cuz this what-ever-it-is isn’t love! No! Hatred is all she feels for him, she sneers back. He rolls after her and reminds her of the old Spanish saw that hate is only a step away from love. Paula says it’s a step she’s never taking with him! He tells her to cut it out. If he let himself go while kissing Vanesa, it was because he was angry with her. He’s frustrated that nothing he does for her ever seems to be appreciated or considered worthwhile. She reminds him he needs her to appear the adoring wife in front of Don Abel and warns him that if he ever tries to publicly humiliate her again like that it doesn’t matter how many contracts or rules he’s got!! She’ll never pretend to be the happy little missus Montero ever again!!!! He gives her a “yes, Dear” look of repentance and then allows himself a teeny, tiny secretive smile of triumph.
At Casa Duran, meanwhile, Guscakes and Cinthia come bouncing in to tell Big Sis, Mercedes, that they’ve gotten back together and want her to join them for dinner, Gus’s treat.
A bit later that day AP gives Rosaura the third degree about why Nessa accused Rosie of blackmailing her mother, Elsie La Vaca. Mentirosie tries lying her way out of it accusing them to be capable of any type of slander. Paula says it’s not as simple matter of mud-slinging. Pau realizes how worried her aunt’s always been about money. Rosie loses patience and says there’s nothing wrong with wanting a decent life, especially after what she went through. If her mother had had sufficient funds then she’d have gotten the treatment she needed and wouldn’t have died! AP says she realizes there are times when it might be necessary, but still, Ro-Hell called Rosie a money grubbing female [interesado/a = calculating, mercenary, selfish]. “--All right! I will tell you the truth!” (None of us in Viewerville are exactly holding our breath for this.)
Don Abel has arrived, meanwhile, and is now with Ro-Hell in the living room discussing the stockman’s association. Don A considers it a great honor to have been invited to Hell-Fuerte. (It won’t be long before he changes his mind, I’m sure.) Rog explains that he’s been thinking over things since their last convo. He’s always been reserved [huraña = shy, distrustful, unsociable] and not much for socializing. However, now things are different and he views things otherwise. He’s got some great ideas to help the membership prosper he believes. Also, he’s thinking of his wife and thinks she’d appreciate associating and getting more involved with the rest of the community. They drink to that.
Rosie lays it on thick for Pau, now, with a gush of crocodile tears, and tells her (in what Viewerville figures may be possibly the nth iteration) that she covered for her dear departed sister, letting everybody think she was Federico’s daily afternoon delight. After all, AP’s mama might have been legally separated, but in the eyes of the community she was still a married woman! Yes, Mentirosa suffered sacrificial humiliation to protect Pau’s dear departed mama’s reputation. One day Elsa thus came to her and offered her money to leave her husband. Of course, AP’s sweet mama never suspected a thing (and, probably never saw a penny of that pay-off, either!) Tearfully, Rosie admits it was wrong never to have told Paula about it. No, says AP, but she now understands why Rosie keeps pushing her at Rogelio Montero. What’s the harm, asks Rosie, in having things nice and falling for the man that gives them to you?
The idea just doesn’t sit well with Pau, though, she admonishes. Rosie tearfully offers to leave the premises and to return home if that’s the case. (Ah, what would be the fun in that, Rosie?) Before Pau can say more, Consuela comes in to inform her that Don Abel is in the living room with Ro-Hell who wants her to come out and join them. Once Connie is gone, Pau hugs her red-nosed Tía Rosie and begs her to stay. “--Calm down, Tia. I was just curious about how things happened then. No reason for you to leave.” They hug and Mentirosie allows herself a small eye roll of relief.
Back in Tuxtla, Gustavo tells Mersnottys in between lots of syrupy smooches with Sinthia, that he has decided to go back to Hacienda del Fuerte with his renewed squeeze in order to formalize their relationship with Bro-Hellio. No, he doesn’t know if he’ll be working for the guy, yet, cuz first he wants to clarify things about the two of them dating. And, it’s important enough that they’re leaving that very afternoon. Miss Mercy is all happy, happy, joy, joy! Serious canon-like drumbeats go off in the background signaling the arrival and positioning of the first major anvil to fall. (Viewerville is on the edge of every available seat in living rooms throughout in anticipation of the singular event.)
At the same time, Rog is discussing some mumbo-jumbo claptrap about greenhouse gases and turbines with Don Abel who is doing a great job at avoiding crossed eyes and pretending he actually understands any of it himself. Pau walks in and assumes her role as amiable ama [housewife]. Whereupon, the other part of Sister Sledge, aka Vainessa, comes barging into the room with the sole intent of slinging sludge at Sissy. Nessa ignores Oh-Hell’s question about WTF she’s doing there, and immediately ingratiates herself with the old guy by fawning all over him. He gladly reciprocates. “—Oh, yes. You’re Don Federico’s daughter.” “—Yes, that’s right—his ONLY daughter.” Vainie turns around then and smiles evilly at Pau. Pau stiffly dodges the daggers darting from Vainie’s glaring eyes and reminds her that Rog, her husband, has just asked her a question. Nessa replies haughtily that Pau needn’t worry about her; she’s not staying to eat with them. She doesn’t sit down at the table with bastards!!
In Tuxtla, Sin tells Mersnottys that she’s thrilled at the way Gustavo has taken the bull by the horns for her. Smoochy, smoochy, coo. Mersnottys says to make sure she explains to Bro-Hell that it’s because Gus is especially interested in her. (Like Hell he is. The look on Babycakes’ face says he’s still trying hard to make himself believe that! Oh well, as Stephen Stills once crooned, when you can’t be with the one you love then might as well love the one you’re with. It has become Esteban and Gustavo’s new mission in life.) Sin is completely oblivious to the obvious as Viewerville bides it’s time in anticipation of the day she finds out she’s been previously punked by Paula!
Back at Hell-Fuerte, Pau explains to Don Abel that she is also Rich Feddy’s daughter. Rog screams at Nessa for insulting his wife while Nessa mentally files her nails and disregards anything he’s saying. Old Abe tries being civil as Pau lamely explains she’s also one of Feddy’s daughters. Vainessa haughtily continues to deny and Pau reminds her that nothing can change the fact that they have the same blood running in their veins. Nessa shakes her finger at Pau and screams back that she can’t prove any of that! Rog breaks in and breaks it up. He kicks Nessa out and orders Hugo follows her out to the door. That lasts about a New York second cuz Nessa struts to the front door, immediately slams it shut almost on Hugo’s nose, then turns around and starts for the living room again. (OMG! CATFI-I-I-I-I-IGHT!!!! CATFIGHT ALERT!!! HOT-DIGITTY DAMN!)
Rosaura, whose big ears and even bigger mouth for once have been put to good use, comes racing into the grand hallway and screams at Vainessa to stop right there. “—What the Hell are you (familiar tú) doing?” Nessa tells her (using the lord ‘n masterly familiar tú) to shut it cuz she’s nothing more than that bastarda’s aunt, let alone anywhere near dueña status!! Rosie lets Nessa in on a family secret: she doesn’t know things weren’t exactly the way Elsie’s led her to believe all these years. “—Oh, Vainessa, if you only knew that you were really just your mother’s excuse for being able to keep hold of Federico!” Nessa calls her a liar and starts to call AP’s mama a whore, but Rosie cuts her off before she can spit it out. “--the only zorra [whore-bi!tch-slut] here is YOU!” (A guttural cheer escapes from throngs of Viewerville throats. Victory dances are being danced on ditsy tipsy tippy-toes.) Bested, Vainie shuts her pie hole. Clink!
In the living room again, AP apologizes for the untimely outburst and Rog reminds him of his history with Vainessa when she left him years ago right after his accident. “--As it turns out, my wife is her half-sister.” Ol’ Abel says he understands and that his lips are sealed. Pau says it makes no never mind to her that she’s Feddy’s daughter, but for her hubby, well, you know….. Rog says she has no reason to feel bad on his account and they both agree her daddy was one of the good guys. The men drink a toast to Rog’s becoming association prez, but Pau resumes her role as wet blanket and excuses herself, saying she’s not exactly in celebratory mode now. Abe starts to leave, but Rog stops him to discuss something further.
Out in the hall again, Rosie (who finally is on the side of truth and justice) snaps back that Nessa is strutting around here calling the hervidor [kettle] black!! “You’re so quick to accuse your sister of going after married men when you’re doing EXACTLY the same thing!!” Vainie yells back that AP stole Rogelio from her and she’s determined to get him back! Rosie reminds Nessa that the man does not love her and adds that nothing justifies her having laid that lip-lock on him. Just then Maria walks in with her tray of goodies and sees Nessa causing another major ruckus for Ro-Hell. “—How could you have dared, Vanessa!” Vainessa snaps back at her. “—Get back to the kitchen, you simple-minded dolt!” Rosie comes to Maria’s defense. “—Who do you think you are, eh?” Maria hands her tray to Hugo, who hasn’t been much use as anything more than a doorstop to this point, and starts helping Rosie drag the arrogant quean out of the house and onto the drive. “—Get lost! Scram!” “—Let go of me!” “—Nothin’ doin’, you tramp!!” ¡¡&&???!!XX##¡¡****!!!
In another part of the hacienda, Daniela gives moral support to a teary-eyed Pau after hearing about the crap Vainessa just pulled on her.
Outside the hacienda, Nessa’s screaming that she can walk by herself, thank you very much! The two older women gracelessly throw her skinny backside off the walk and onto the drive. Maria screams after her. “--Don’t you ever come back here again!” Rosi yells orders to Hugo to stand by the door and guard it until the she-dog leaves. They turn around, arm in arm, and walk back towards the house together. They agree the vixen is only going to cause them trouble and that they did great joining forces to get her the heck outta there. Everything’s grand till Maria suggests a toast and Rosie pulls rank. Maria tells her to stuff it and gawd save her from ever being a mooch like Rosaura!
Vainy, meanwhile, tells Hugo she’s not leaving till she takes her very precious leave of Don Abel! He walks out and she latches onto him immediately. Don Abel doesn’t really accept her apology, but she couldn’t care less since she’s only pumping him for gossip and gets what she was after: the greatly satisfying news that Paula was totally bummed by Vainessa’s stunt.
Pau and Dani continue discussing Vainessa's impromptu act. Rog rolls up and listens from the doorway just in time to hear Paula complain that of course that woman felt she had the right to waltz in like that because Rog responded the way he did to her kissing him! Dani finally notices him in the doorway and scoots out. Pau starts griping at him again for allowing Vainessa to take advantage of him (actually them both, I’d say) this way. He says it was a shame, but he already explained why he let it happen. In the meantime he’s informing her that tomorrow he’s having the district’s stockmen and their wives over so she can begin to get acquainted with them. Everyone can see then that the only woman he cares about is her. “— I don’t know how I’ll be able to play the doting little housewife tomorrow if I can’t stand to even look at you right now this very minute!” Rog tries in vain to reason. “—Have you ever stopped to think that if I kissed her it’s because you refuse to give me kisses yourself?” “—My kisses aren’t part of your contract!” “—Yeah, you’re right. They aren’t, but your being the perfect wife is! And as such, I expect you to prepare everything for tomorrow night and for it to be exactly the way I like it!” He does a wheelie and exits stage right.
That night, the Chio-Pet and Miss Mercy are at a shop discussing the great news about Babycakes bro and Sin. Esteban shows up with flowers and shares a few with Mercedes. Chio-Pet doesn’t like it one bit. Once she’s gone, Chio gives Stevie a piece of her mind. She’s jealous and admits it. Oh, why, asks Naïve Steve. He was only trying to cheer her up a bit due to the separation anxiety she’s got with Ernesto. How about they go to his apartment and he fixes her a fabulous dinner? They kiss and make up. FF>>FF>>
In the metropolis of San Gabriel, meanwhile, Nessa lets off steam telling David and Bruno about the afternoon’s events. Totally high-school and dangerously unnecessary. Nessa doesn’t think so. She not only made sure Don Abel would spread the word that Rog’s wife was a bastard, but she got him to confirm afterward that she got Paula’s goat. And that made it all worthwhile. Petty girl stuff as far as Big Dave’s concerned. He warns her she’s got a major problem always wanting to come out on top like that. No biggy, says Nessa. BTW, she made an offer to the guy, Raimundo, who owns La Negra and he accepted. She just has to put it in writing and tells Bruno he’ll have to make sure Raimundo signs the papers ASAP. Dave says no problemo. They have a meeting with him set for the next day.
Rog informs Maria that he plans now to go Tuxtla himself for Sinthia immediately after the dinner party ends tomorrow evening. Maria’s bummed at the change in plans.
The next day, Michael informs Ro-Hell that he wants to quit therapy because the burden his sister feels in being so indebted to him is too much for Mikey. Rog tells him it’s really less of a burden if he continues therapy and doesn’t drink. She’s happier in the long run. In fact, he’s planning on giving him a heavier workload in order to better clear his mind. Mikey doesn’t argue.
In the kitchen, now, the women are trying to make Rog’s favorite chiles' rellenos dish or something. Pau gripes about having to be forced to cook for the party. Maria gets on her high-horse and leaves when Rosie arrives. Rosie, much to her surprise and disgust, gets roped into cooking the dish instead. FF>>
Meanwhile, Bruno and Big Dave are still knocking back beers and discussing La Negra tho’ Nessa is long gone. Seems Raimundo won’t be at the dinner that night, tho’ Abel (his brother?) will. Big Dave worries that Rog will find out that the property is being put up for sale. Bruno suggests they’ll have to make sure that Raimundo signs already, before Rog finds out in case Abel or somebody else spills the frickin’ frijoles first. Problem is that Rog expects Bruno to be there at the dinner that evening. They figure he can say he’s got to get to town to discuss the problem of keeping Mikey out of jail with David. There’s a bail discussion which doesn’t necessarily fit here. FF>>
Rog comes in to complain about Paula’s snitty attitude ruining the results. What difference does it make whether she’s a happy cook or not as long as she’s a pleasant wife and hostess afterwards, she reasons? Ok, he says, but the dish he wants made is too runny and missing nogada [a certain nut and spice mixture]. Paula makes fun of Mr. Macho giving orders to the women in the kitchen.
El Gusto and Sin arrive at the gates to the hacienda. Gus explains to the guards he’s brought Ms. Sinthia back. She’s jumpin’ jackalopes through the jeep’s window! “—Hurry up, boys! I’m dying from the heat!”
Back in the kitchen, Ro-Hell surprises the women by adding the missing nogada to what they’ve made so far. Paula acts pleasantly surprised at the results then says now it tastes like it's nothing but nuts! She snidely dismisses him.
Conned and Mikey discuss how Ro-Hell has put Mikey in charge of redoing the entire fence for the hacienda and that it’s helped him not to think about drinking so much. Connie shows him a design and asks if he might be able to do that in wood (I think.) He says sure he can. (Yawn.) FF>>
Once the cooking is finished, Rosie and Pau come back to her bedroom. Rosie complains about the chiles’ juice making her hands burn and AP tells her to wash them and put cream on them. Talk turns to Pau getting dressed up for the meal. Rosie tells her she can’t go looking like that to a fancy dinner party. Pau pulls another tantrum and Rosie tells her to get over it already. “Look. We know he’s got his nasty personality traits. You’ve got two choices: either be a sad sack or relax a little and enjoy the dinner. It’s up to you.” Pau makes another snitty face.
In another part of the hacienda, Rog is checking through paperwork in his office. Maria comes in to say he’s got somebody wanting to speak to him. “—Don’t tell me Vanesa is back”. Nope. “--Then who is it?” Gus galumphs in with a determined look on his face. (Sorry, but Jose Ron does not do ‘angry’ well.) “—It’s me. Gustavo Durán!” “—What in Hell are you doing here?” “—We have to talk about Sinthia!” (The anvil winches up bit by bit into place.)
In San Gabriel, Los Malditos Banditos, are back conniving again. Seems Nessa got Raimundo to come down ten percent on the asking price. They will all pony up what they can to take joint ownership of the ranch and make Ro-Hell’s life as difficult as possible. Big Dave has a cash flow problem and suggests he can always con Rog into giving him cash to keep Mikey out of jail. Nothin’ doin’, says Nessa! She wants his BIL in jail to keep Paula giving Ro-Hell holy Hell, and to make sure that Paula suffers even more because of it.
Speaking of Holy Hell, Maria tells the anxious Sin that Gus has been giving it to Bro-Hell in spades. Maria feels she should never have brought him with her. Sin says he’s giving her her place and insisted on coming. She goes to the door to eavesdrop.
Rog screams at Gus for going behind his back with his kid sis. Gus insists they don’t have to explain every step they take nor will they. They are adults and will act like it. He agrees Sin isn’t a child, but Gus hasn’t been respectful of her, either. Gus disagrees vehemently and says it’s because she is important to him that he’s come to stand up for her [dar la cara = also to face the consequences of one’s actions] and the both of them. Bro-Hell reminds him that he dumped her to run back to the arms of his ex-girlfriend. True, says Gus, and he could have two-timed Sin and then decided which one he cared for more, but he didn’t want to hurt her. Sin understands this. He didn’t hide it from her! Bro-Hell accuses him of suddenly dating her again just because he’s wanting to work for the hacienda. Not at all, says Gus. “—I don’t know what kind of people you’re used to dealing with, but I could never do anything like that. Besides, you saw my work before I started back with Sinthia and you liked it. Anyway, I don’t need to work for you! I can do very well on my own!”
Big Dave reminds Vainessa that she can’t let her rage get the best of her. They can hurt Rog financially just as well. As for Mikey, says Bruno, irrespective of whether he really stole that truck, he still has to go to trial for manslaughter and a judge will decide the outcome. Whether it’s good or bad and he goes to jail for it depends on the attorney he has. (Something tells me that Rog better forget about using Bruno as a cracker-jack of all trades criminal defense lawyer here, or he’d better hope that Mexico considers legal negligence punishable by law as well.) Skeletor smiles as he tells her it will be his utmost pleasure ensuring that Pau’s brother ends up going to jail.
Back in Rog’s office, Gus explains that since he’s only started dating Sin, he’s not going to let her marry him tomorrow. (Say what?) That’s why they’ve started to date and get to know each other better. Rog explains he doesn’t know her at all. No, says Gus, she wants her independence from Rog and that’s why she’s started working for a living. Rog insists that what she really wants by going out with him is to get married immediately and to gain her half of the hacienda. Gus interrupts him and says that’s old news. He knows all about the inheritance and what’s involved. Neither she nor he is in favor of that. She didn’t want to return, but Gus insisted on it. He’s more worried that she won’t love him or consider him because he doesn’t have money and hopes she realizes there’s more to life than money. He hopes she can learn to love him as he is, but Rog can rest assured Sin will never lack for anything. Rog snickers at his lack of giving her what she’s grown up accustomed to and how it sounds like the one who wants to get married tomorrow is Gus! No, she may not have luxuries, but she’ll never lack at his level of income is all.
Before, Gus explains, he had to make a life altering decision and he didn’t want Sinthia getting hurt. Now things are different and he doesn’t want the two of them angry at each other since he knows that he’s Sin’s only brother. He wanted her and him to clear up their difference of opinion and patch things up. However, Rog has got to realize that if she decides not to continue living at the hacienda it’s her choice and he’s got to respect that choice.
Sin is jumping for joy with Maria because Gus has stood up for her and Rog has given in. Maria says that’s a good thing because her brother can’t have kids and the family would fall apart if the two of them couldn’t get along together.
Rog expresses his appreciation that Gus actually came to the hacienda to face him and face the consequences. Most others would have just stayed back in Tuxtla. Gus says he’s the type who confronts things head on. Rog says that’s the way he likes things to be handled himself and does think he’s the kind of guy who merits a chance with his sister. Gus says that having a sister himself he knows what it is to worry about what’s right for them in the long run. Rog looks Gus straight in the eyes now. “—Yes, well, Sinthia is my only family and I warn you [lo advierto] that I will always look out for her.” (I guess the gauntlet for The Gus has thus been displayed and laid.) Gus returns the steady stare and accepts the terms of the challenge.
Before Gus exits he says he hopes that Rog will tell Sin that he’s got nothing to worry about now. Of course, says Rog. Have her come in. Rog tells him first that he’s giving a dinner party to celebrate his becoming president of the local Stockman’s Association and he’d be pleased to have him attend with his sister. He’s using the occasion to introduce his wife and he’s glad Gus has come so he’ll have a chance to meet her as well. “—It would be my pleasure!”
Back in Tuxtla, Chio-Pet notes how Esteban is great with kids. (Ehh!) Esteban tells her he’s anxious to have kids. She reminds him first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes time for the baby carriage. Stevie is all for it. FF>>
Out in the hallway at the hacienda, Gus tells Sin that bottom line he and Rog came to a positive agreement. Now it’s her turn to face him. He’ll go in with her if she wants. No, she’ll do it alone. They smooch and this time Margarito has snuck around the corner to watch. He sees Gus making out with Sin.
Rog tells Sin he’s given Gus the green light. Sin tells the Bro-Hell that Gus makes her feel differently than she ever has before. By the look on his face he seemingly recognizes this as true luuuuhhv on his sister’s part. She tells him that she wants to make her own decisions and if she returns to the hacienda it will be because she’s decided herself to do so and not because she’s being ordered to do so. She wants to take charge of her life just as he does for himself. (Maybe Rog and I could take Sin a bit more seriously if she was wearing something a bit more dignified, or at least, less strumpy?) But no, Rog doesn’t put up a fight and Sin recognizes that she’s won the argument with him and smiles. On the other hand, he warns her off of Vainessa and says she’s really only using Sin to get back at him for having married her sister.
Sin refuses to believe if of her BFF. Rog says fine, and that he hopes in the end she doesn’t regret ignoring his advice and going off to work with her. Just remember, he’s never leaving Pau’s side and if it comes to it she’d best know in advance. One more thing, he says. She will get her part of the hacienda when she meets the right man. It’s not his decision to make; it’s their father’s stipulation. So, don’t rush into things with Gustavo. Let things take their course. Whatever happens, it happens. Ok?
We beam back to Mexico and get a glimpse of life in the fast lane with Ulises’s family and Effer …er…racing along in the rollercoaster. He’s miserable!
Mgrito races back to Pau’s bedroom to tell Paula what he’s just witnessed, but she’s nowhere to be found.
The dinner guests have arrived. Rog introduces Abel to Gus. There’s a toast and then Rog tells Con to fetch his wife. One of the guests drags Gus into a conversation about CO2. Pau walks in all dolled up and dressed to the nines in emerald green. She bends over to kiss Rog and to play up to him. Her back is to Gus who's turned away from her and still speaking to the others about his frickin’ CO2. Rog officially presents AP as his wife to the crowd in the room. La Senora Montero smiles and looks around the room. Gus turns around to get a good look at her. He can’t believe his eyes. It’s as if she’s frozen in time herself. Cue the anvil!!

El Mundo de Telemundo: Discuss among yourselves - Week of March 19
!Hola a todos!
I will get the ball rolling with Friday's CORAZÓN VALIENTE episode:
In her confrontation with Isabel, Ángela admits her love for JM. But, she says that she respects marriage vows and she loves Génesis and would not do anything to get JM for herself. Isabel doesn't believe this of course. She tells Ángela that JM will never divorce her because if he does, she will kill herself.
One of the things that Ángela accused Isabel of is that Isabel doesn't care for her own daughter because she never spends any time with her. After the confrontation, Isabel goes to see Génesis (who always seems to be going to bed) and tells her that she loves her in her own way but she can't demonstrate it that much.
When Violeta comes in to see Génesis, Isabel tells her that she can't be friends with Génesis and if she wants to know why, she should see if her mother has the courage to tell her.
Isabel decides that she has to get both Ángela and Renzo out of her house. So when Ángela gets a note to meet JM in the garage at a certain time, we know what is going to happen.
Willy decides that he is going to work at his father's company and his first act is to interview a bevy of voluptuous secretaries while Sam waits outside.
It's Renzo who meets Ángela in the garage and forces her at gunpoint to take off most of her clothes so that they appear to be en flagrant delicto when JM and Isabel come into the garage.
I think Nelly, the maid let it slip to Emma that she knows about Emma's bipolar condition and that she found this out from Pablo.
Perla and Bernardo are having sex when Bernardo collapses.
JM fires Renzo and Ángela.
Fernanda asks why Willy doesn't want to work for their father's company and Willy says that he is not sure his father is really ill.
JM leaves a note and check for Ángela. He will continue to pay for Violeta to go to Génesis' school. When Ángela and Renzo comes downstairs, he hides in the closet. Ángela and Renzo conveniently recap the whole plot - "Why did you hold me at gunpoint and make me take off my clothes?" When Renzo leaves, JM tells Ángela that he heard everything and now he wants the truth about what she saw. Ángela doesn't want to tell him but he says to her, "I have to believe in someone and that someone is you."
Willy asks Sam if it was their sexual encounter at age 15 that made her prefer women over men. Sam says that is true. But when Willy protests that they were only 15 and it was the first time for both of them, Sam confesses that the sex was wonderful. She tells him that her problem is that afterwards he never attempted to contact her.
If Emma believes that Pablo revealed her secret to Nellie, she ought to be mad but instead she tells Pablo how much she respects his discretion and devotion to duty and then she tries to kiss him. He pulls back and says that he can't get involved with a client.
When JM continues to demand that Ángela tell him what she saw, she replies that she wishes she didn't have to hurt him any more.
When Renzo gives Isabel his card and suggests that they get together sometime, she tells him that she isn't interested. She loves her husband.
Willy tells Sam that he wrote and tried to call her many times but heard nothing and concluded that she wasn't interested in him. At first Sam doesn't believe this but Willy convinces her that he is speaking the truth and they wonder which of their parents intercepted all the attempts at communication.
Perla calls the paramedics for Bernardo. His eyes were rolled up but when Perla is looking the other way, he looked normal for a second and I thought he was faking the whole thing.
Isabel calls Bernardo but of course he isn't there and she leaves the world's longest phone message. She says that she got what she wanted but she still isn't happy - no surprise there. Happy isn't in her emotional repertoire.
Fernanda fantasizes about killing Isabel.
If Isabel wasn't happy before, she really isn't happy when JM tells her that he knows about her and Renzo and that this is the end of their marriage. When JM leaves, Isabel is attacked by memories of her abusive mother.
Willy rushes to the hospital when he hears about his father. He is told that Bernardo is in intensive care with a heart attack. [So is this real?] Fernanda calls the hospital and wants to know whether it's worth the trouble of going there - is Bernardo dead already?
Perla tells Sam that she and Bernardo have been lovers for many years. Sam asks if it was Perla who tried to keep her an Willy apart. Perla denies it.
JM tells Isabel that she has to leave the house. He will support her is a luxurious apartment and she can spend all the money she wants but Génesis is staying with him. Isabel refuses to accept that. She says that she will go to court and get custody. Finally, she tells JM about Ángela's confession that she loves JM.

Abismo de pasión #5 3/16/12: I said divorce the shrew and dump the harlot. But does he listen? Nuh uh.
The Arangean Stables: or -- a Harlot, a Shrew and a Knave walk into a barn ... The TangeloHo crouches in a stall – perfectly camouflaged in the horse dung – while Alfonsina sniffs. Rosendo reeks of perfume. And she knows whose it is! Hah! She’ll never give him a divorce. He’ll never be free to marry Estefanía.
Rosie says there IS no other woman. It’s their marriage that has gone belly-up. And it’s their son who is paying the price. Imagine. A little boy buying magical amulets, thinking he can repair their irreparably hellish relationship.
(At least Rosie is wearing his boy’s gift. Inside the hacienda, little Damián is saddened to see his mother’s amulet carelessly set aside.)
They should divorce for their son’s sake, says Rosendo.
(On hearing this, Carmina smirks, almost betraying her presence by the blinding flash of overwhitened teeth.)
Rosendo will have to kill Alfie first – she will not be the laughing stock of the pueblo!
As soon as Alfie stalks off, up pops the Sleazel™. “I told you she’s nuts” says the dirty TangeloHo (Well she’s been in the stable muck. What do you expect?). “There’s no point trying to talk to her.” Rosendo is convinced. Carmina can go home and pack and they will leave the next day.
Two and a half women of virtue
Estefanía tells doña Blanca she’s sad her sister is leaving La Ermita. Blanca reminds her that Carmina isn’t a small-town kind of girl. And Steffie isn’t exactly alone – she has her family, Augusto and Elisa.
Right on cue, adorable Elisa bursts in, hugs Blanca, and asks permission to try on the new dress Blanca has made for her.
One self-dramatizing egotist and her victim
Alfie has taken refuge in her room. She hyperventilates, she fumes, she bites off the maid’s head. (No, my dears, not literally. That would be another kind of drama. On another network.). She sobs.
Rosendo proceeds with his plans:
He asks Lucio to take charge of the Hot Sauce plant in his absence – they’ll sign a formal paper in the morning. Lucio accepts. But he knows that Gabino Mendoza won’t like it. And he also knows that Rosendo is involved in something very unsavoury: ¡Ay muchacho, sabrá Dios en que lios andas metido!(God only knows what kind of mess you're mixed up in.)
Casa Castañon
When Blanca has gone, Elisa notices her mommy’s eyes are red, as if she has been crying. Steffie explains that she’s sad about Tía Carmina going away. Elisa wonders why she has no sibs, but then reflects that she is lucky to have her pals. Stef insists, with uncharacteristic insensitivity, that a friend’s love isn’t the same as a sister’s. Fortunately, our little heroine seems too grounded to start feeling sorry for her onlychildness. Or maybe she, like the viewer, is thinking that her mommy would have been lucky to be an only.
Hacienda Arango
Damián finds Alfie flat on the floor of her room. “She looks dead!” cries the horrified child. He hollers for help.
Casa Castañon
While Alfie is playing possum (also known as TrauMatizaKid) in the big house, in their more modest casa, Lolita and Elisa are making a cake to cheer up Steffie.
Stef sees Carmina packing her bags. When she tries to talk her out of leaving, poor Stef gets an earful of Carm’s angry, mendacious “I have to get away from Rosendo right now!”
The Doctor Makes House Calls
New character alert: Doctor Edmundo Tovar (Alexis Ayala)
Dr. Tovar reassures Rosie and Damián that Alfie is going to be fine – just let her rest a while.
Rosendo takes Tovar aside. Alfie has had low blood pressure for a long time but she never fainted before. Could this be serious? Not to worry, says the doc. She’s just really anxious. Keep her meds handy and stay close to her.
Alfie stands straight and tall in her room. Is she straining to hear the conversation? When Rosendo’s steps approach, she scoots under the covers and reprises the role of invalid. She felt she was going to die, she tells him, when he talked of divorce.
She reminds him of all the years, all the difficult fertility treatments she endured, just to give him a child; and how risky her pregnancy was because of her age. And now, after all she suffered to give him his precious son, he is talking about abandoning her?
Cue to the precious son entering with a message for dad. Elisa’s father wants to see him. Alfie holds Damián hostage until Rosendo comes back to her sick bed.
This doc sounds like a bit of a yenta. He has spread the word of Alfie’s attack of the vapours and now Augusto wants to know how she is. “Lo mismo de siempre” (same old same old) says Rosendo -- though the fainting bit did scare him for a moment.
Augusto is worried about his friend and invites him to take him into his confidence. Rosendo will only say that he understands that his family depends on him and he can’t take any risks with their stability. Then he adds ominously: You’re like a brother to me – always remember that, whatever may happen.
Dr. Tovar when he’s at home ... is none other than the spouse of Begoña, the snooty metiche who was so quick to believe the worst about Steffie. The doc not only blabs to Begoña about his visita de domicilio (house call) but offers his opinion that Alfie’s faint was emotional blackmail, an obvious cry for attention. Begoña is miffed – why Alfie would never! The poor thing. Everyone knows that Rosendo is messing around with Estefanía Bouvier. Doc pooh-poohs the rumor: ¿En qué cabeza cabe semejante estupidez? (How could you think such a thing? In what head does such a stupid thing fit?)
At the dinner table, Lucio worries aloud about Rosendo. Blanca reassures him: If his concern is Carmina, well breathe easy. Stef told her Carmina is leaving town.
Hmmm. Curiously, Rosendo told Lucio he’s leaving town too. And he’s not sure when he’s coming back.
HERE’S THE FREAKY PART WHERE EVERYTHING TURNS ORANGE
Casa Castañon
Augusto is greeted by the TangeloHo in a tangerine peignoir. Her sister will miss her, he tells her, and he will too. He doesn’t think she should leave. (Why the blazes not, Mr. Mixed Messages?) He loves her like a sister. Ooooh. Carmina doesn’t want to hear that.
Now Elisa enters and watches silently as a real horror flick unfolds.
Carmina – with her leather-colored face and wild, stringy hair reminding one of a shrunken head early along in the shrinking process – decides to let ‘er rip. “I love you” she tells her cuñado. “I’ve loved you as long as I have known you. You are the love of my life.”
Look away Elisa! Oh no! Too late. Orangina pulls Augie onto her face. Elisa drops her doll. The adults turn to her. Elisa looks her father in the eye and says: “I saw you kiss her on the mouth.”
Carmina blathers about it being a goodbye, brotherly kind of kiss but Elisa knows what she saw and heard. She runs away. Augie follows. He wants to keep her from telling her mom about this scene
Elisa, apparently smarter than either of her parents, just wants the Tangerine One to leave – even if her mom is sad about it. Augie repeats that his wife and daughter are the two loves of his life.
Carmina is still lurking, waiting for Augie – they have to talk. But he turns away from her. He wants her gone! Now leather face is tear-stained and distorted by the pain of his rejection.
Wearing a white towel on her head and a white terrycloth robe, Steffie herself is looking a bit orange, as if, in a spontaneous gesture of sisterly solidarity, she has just stepped out of the spray tan booth. She’d like Carmina to postpone her trip until the weekend so they can drive her to Mérida. Nooooooooooo says Augie. Let her go. Oh and don’t go into Elisa’s room to kiss her goodnight – she’s already asleep.
Paloma sets out for La Ermita with her basket of pan dulce and a cage of “recovered” birds for Elisa. Ramona has errands to run and will see her granddaughter at home later.
Begoña, in a sickroom visit to Alfie, hints that Alfie faked her “attack” as a way to solve her Rosie problem. What Rosie problem? asks Alfie. By the way, you know that blue house near the cenote ...
...Well. Begoña has heard that someone bought it although it looks unlived in. Maybe it’s a place to .... er ... wink wink ... you know...
Begoña leers but Alfie looks like she’s eaten some bad huitlacoche.
A bright cloud of orange fills the screen. It’s Rosendo’s shirt. He rides up to the TangeloHo, herself in an orangina sundress. Her bags are packed and she is ready, freddie! She doesn’t take kindly to Rosie’s story about Alfie’s vapours and the discussion gets kind of heated ...
Remember, children... you are never alone in a telenovela. There is always someone to overhear you. And so it is that Ramona is driving her horse-drawn cart past this very spot at this very moment and gets an earful ...
“I can’t believe you’re stupid enough to fall for her blackmail” screeches Carmina Burra. She’s not waiting, not even a few days. It’s now or he’ll never see her again! (Pick door number two, for the love of God!)
Elsewhere in the countryside, a figure on horseback rides smartly up to the famous blue house. It’s Alfie! Looking in the pink! (Didn’t she get the memo about orange?) When a domestic comes out the door, Alfie learns that Gabino Mendoza hired her. But the woman can’t say who actually lives there.
Rosendo has, unfortunately, opted for door number one. When he gets to the procesadora, he informs Gabino that his plans “siguen en pie” (are continuing as planned). Gabino has the plane tickets and hotel reservations. Should he charge the costs to the business? Of course not, Rosendo tells him, just throw away that statement from the travel agency.
Oh and by the way, he’s leaving don Lucio in charge. Gabino doesn’t like that? Well he can turn in his resignation – to don Lucio.
Elisa, despite her bright red-orange dress, is in a funk. She confides to her mother that she wants tía Orangina to leave. Why? Well ...
Hey! Paloma’s here! And she has a cage of lively, healthy birds. Why are there four when the kids only left three with Ramona? Um. Paloma thinks fast – the fourth is a gift, like the doll Elisa gave her!
Paloma has her pan dulce to sell and Elisa accompanies her. Steff is left behind, a bit disconcerted by what her daughter has just said about tía.
It’s Lolita’s afternoon off. She noticed that Carm’s bags are still in her room so she must be coming back to the house. Would Steffie say goodbye for her? (Actually, Lolita’s skirt is sort of orangey too.)
Carmina makes one final run at Augusto, this time in his office. She can’t help the way she feels – yes, she’s crazy! Crazy in love with him.
But Augie has finally decided to stop with the mixed signals. He tells her: “You can’t stay in my house. I won’t allow my wife to suffer.”
“One day”, says Orangina, “you’ll see that my sister is no better than I am; and then, I swear, you’ll be sorry you humiliated me.”
Rosendo in his giant orange shirt is greeted at home with splendid news: Alfie is feeling better so she went out to get some fresh air. He rushes to pack his bags.
Alfie has followed the trail of the blue house straight to Gabino’s office. She riffles through the papers on his desk and finds ... the travel agency invoice showing charges for a flight out of Mérida that very evening and reservations at a hotel in New York!
Gabino walks in on this scene and sees his chance to get even with the boss. When Alfie interrogates him, he admits, with a show of reluctance, that his boss is traveling with a woman. But he denies knowing who the woman is.
That’s okay. Alfie can fill in the blanks. He’s leaving with that damned Estefanía Bouvier. (She really is maldita, pobrecita.)
They’re leaving at nine, adds Gabino helpfully.
Once Hurricane Alfonsina has stormed out, greasy güero Gabino grins:
¡Vamos a ver de qué cuero hay más correas Rosendo! (Let’s see who comes out ahead, R! /Let’s see which leather makes more straps)
Damián catches orange-shirted Rosendo, suitcase in hand, (cuz really, it would be hard to miss him) and asks innocently if they are going on vacation. Rosie says no, it’s just a boring work thing. And then he says goodbye to his son so emotionally that all of us just know they will never see each other again: “Quiero que sepas que te quiero con toda mi alma” (I want you to know that I love you with all my heart.)
Damián runs after his father and cries out: ¡No te vayas! The two exchange stricken looks. Rosendo gets in his car and drives off.
Elisa comes along eager to show her friend the birds Paloma brought them. But he can’t share her pleasure. He tells her:
Mi papá se fue y nunca lo voy a volver a ver. Se fue para siempre. (My father left and I’m never gonna see him again. He’s gone forever.)
She sits beside him on the front step of the huge hacienda and puts her arms around him to comfort him.
Hurricane Alfie touches down in Augie’s office. “We have to stop them!” Augusto looks at her uncomprehendingly. “Rosendo and Estefanía are running away together! We have to stop them!”
Avances: Estefanía locks Carmina in her room. Rain. Night. A fiery crash. Aquí cambia todo.

Una Familia Con Suerte #167-168 Fri 3/16/12 Love Declared, Love Denied, Who's My Daddy, Con, Ado and Nappy Bring the Funny
We recappers continue to suffer under the onslaught of 2-hour marathons, with no end in sight. Why are they doing this to us? Luckily Madelaine offered to help out and offers us her first recap. Welcome, Madelaine!
The Refried:
Dona Fer wants to reconcile Pancho and Rebe
Midory apologizes to Arnold. He accepts.
Nappy tells Candy he wants babies with her and has a vision of what the baby looks like.
Pina and Vins reconcile.
The New:
Pina and Vins declare their love for each other and many smoochies.
Enzzo tells Chela he will be a part of the baby's life and the baby will know who he is.
Pancho reveals to the whole family Dona Fer is his Mama and their Grandma for realz. Many hugs all around.
Vins congrats Enzzo for the baby he is having with Chela.
Pancho tells Candy that Dona Fer is his Mama and that he is not her blood brother. Meanwhile Nappy is watching them on CC tv and cries as they talk to each other and wipes his streaming eyes with a silk hankerchief. Pancho tells Candy he still considers her his sister and she is still a part of the family.
Pina is very happy to be back with Vins and tells Freddy that she and Vins are not divorcing. Freddy reminds her about the alarms, the other women, etc. Pina tells Freddy nothing will separate her and Vins again.
Chacho goes to the office to see Sandrita and tells her he loves her. She says same to you and they kiss through a lollipop.
Lupe and Tomas talk. He thanks her for doing so much to set him free, he's like to try again with her, but she doesn't know yet, and then he tells her he is applying at the Police Academy.
Under a smiling slice of moon, Pina and Vins remember all the good times of their marriage. Many smoochies. Vins carries Pina upstairs and the house starts a rockin. In the morning they are all smiles.
Rebe and Pancho wait for an elevator. Pancho tries to talk to Rebe but she keeps her distance and is very cool and business like with him.
Dona Fer wants to make Pancho her heir and head of her business, but Pancho tells her things are moving way too fast and he can't accept the changes all at once.
Pina and Vins continue to be amazed how they still love each other.
Karina corners Freddy at school and tries to put a liplock on him. He pushes her off and says he is late for class. She asks why he isn't going to LA to school.
He says because he doesn't want to leave Ana and besides he is just friends with Karina and so long sister. She isn't happy.
Pina wants to go with Vins to Candy's wedding so that Candy can see for herself that they have reconciled. Vins accepts but wants Pina to be part of the plan in getting Pancho out of Avon.
I forgot to add that Concepcion is going back home, cause Vins moved back into his house with Pina.
Dona Fer tells Pancho his dad didn't want to take responsibility for Fernanada being pregnant, and abandoned her. Her parents were fit to be tied and she gave him up for adoption. Fernanda tells Pancho his father's name is Demian Corcuera.
Lidia comes to see Enzzo, but he is preoccupied with Chela and the pregnancy, so Lidia tells him they are through and wishes him luck and a great future with the baby. Lidia goes to see Rebe and tells Rebe that Chela is pregnant. Rebe thinks that Pancho is the baby daddy, but Lidia tells her it is Enzzo.
Rebe looks relieved. She still doesn't want to get back with Pancho, too much excess baggage.
Chela thinks to herself: she is all alone - she should have appreciated Enzzo more.
Pancho goes to look for his Dad.
Enzzo comes over to Chela's with a boatload of maternity books, she asks if he needs help, he tells her he is fine and then drops the books. She helps him pick them up and their hands touch as they gaze into each other's eyes...
The contact breaks and Enzzo shows her the books he brought. He asks how far along she is, and she says five weeks. He gets a book and shows her what the baby looks like now. She is very happy and he looks happy too.
Then she says she wants to ask him something. He says ask away. She wants another chance with him. He tells her he doesn't know cause he is scared, doesn't want to raise his hopes too high again, and doesn't want to suffer like he did before.
Ana tells Freddy to let his Moms know that she is sick of her interference in their relationship and to take care of it.
Pancho goes to his dad's office. He is pacing the waiting room and finally gives the secretary his card. Demian deigns to see him.
Pancho is not impressed. He looks like an older version of Pancho, but with a bald pate and long stringy hair. He laughs like Pancho, scratches himself like Pancho, and grimaces like Pancho. Pancho wants to know why he abandoned Dona Fer. Demian can barely remember her, and then does, barely. Pancho finds him very arrogant and a jerk.
Demian tells Pancho he was married and so had no obligation to Fernanda. Pancho says: "At least I had a great dad, Francisco Lopez, and now a great Mom, Dona Fer!" Pancho leaves and after Pancho closes the door Demian says No Manches and laughs like Pancho.
Rebe meets Pepe, Lupe, Ana and Temo for lunch and she brings Temo a laptop. They ask if she will ever get back with Pancho, but she doesn't know. She would come over to the house, but says it is better that they meet outside of the house and she still likes them.
Chacho and Pancho play basketball and Pancho says he doesn't know what to do about Rebe cause she hates him and he lurvvves her. Chacho tells him there is a thin line between love and hate, and that Pancho should fight for her as hard as he can. Everyone knows they still love each other, but they have to work at it.
Pancho goes to Rebe's office and brings her a bunch of big pink flowers, but she isn't there. He sits down and writes a note asking for her forgiveness for being a jerk and that he loves her still. He leaves the card and the bunch of flowers on her desk.
Pancho tells Dona Fer he met his Dad and what the heck did she see in him anyway? She says she was young and thought she loved him. In storms Rebe and she tells Pancho just cause he bought her flowers and professed his love doesn't mean she if forgiving him anytime soon, and that they need to stay professional. Dona Fer gets in between them as they shout at each other. Rebe leaves, and Pancho tells Dona Fer he doesn't think Rebe will ever forgive him.

El Talismán #33 Fri 3/16/12 Change is in the hair (or Will one of us win the El Tal Pantene contest?)
Recap by Anita - FUG, Energetic Editor in Chief
In Tijuana – Camila can’t believe Lucrecia would try to kill
them. Pedro says they must go back to Fresno to averiguar. They are
still promising each other eternal love, even if the world falls in on
them. Nothing will harm their love.
Camila would like to delay
her mother’s wedding. She doesn’t like the idea of any surprise being
sprung on Elviral. Padre blesses the couple and tells them he’s the one
who would like to marry them (later on, that is).
In the Fresno Detention Facilities
(and Police Detective’s office) – Antonio answers last night’s question
about what’s up with his sister. Hey man, there’s a big difference
between being in love with Pedro Ibarra and being loca. [ed. note –
That’s news to me the way she’s been acting lately.] The detective says
her daddy has reported seeing her doing strange things and has a sick
obsession with Pedro. Antonio thinks his dad is playing dirty—don’t
believe him. Why would that be asks Detecto. Because he’s trying to
keep us from getting what’s rightfully ours by inheritance—half of the
El Alcatraz rancho.
While Gregorio is in talking to Lulu, Tonio
broaches the detective with the possibility of bringing charges against
Sr. Negrete for fraud. Basically, Detecto says lots of luck with that.
He’ll need witnesses and documentation. Nobody around here dares to go
up against Gregorio Negrete.
Accusations against him are many,
proofs and witnesses are scarce. Antonio says that if he can bring in
proofs for some of the delitos, would that change the game? Could he be
detained? The detective says that Antonio would have to involve the
people directly affected and in this situation that would be Pedro
Ibarra. [ed. note – Que The Heck?] The family abogado interrupts to let
Antonio know that everything is en orden and sis will be released soon.
So,
Detecto wants to know if either Antonio or his father had anything to
do with these strange phone calls from Mariana. Uh-uh, she’s dead to
him—Pedro murdered her years ago, and his dad? How would he know.
Music freaks out; Tonio doesn’t freak out—he keeps his cool, scowling,
but cool.
He retorts that the trial and judgment (clearing Pedro
of murder in the shortest murder trial ever) was a joke. Pedro bought
everyone off. The detective wants to know how, since PI Man didn’t have
any money. Antonio swears he did, lots of it and had to have stolen it
right from his wife’s cold dead hands.
He also theorizes that
the phone calls are being made by Pedro himself to cover his butt.
Pedro and his novia want to get married but all the dirt surrounding the
murder will resurface and cause a scandal, but it won’t if she’s still
alive. It has to be a trick.
Don Gregorio is hanging out in the
holding cell with Lucrecia. He taunts her a bit—he’d always thought she
was smarter than her brother, but now he’s convinced she’s not.
DG--Come on, now, be on my side against Antonio.
Lu--And why should I, you never loved me.
DG--Yes, I did, it’s just that I could never show it. Listen to me, your brother is just using you. He’s only out for himself.
Lu--No,
no, Antonio loves me (or is it luuuuurves me). I’ll never be on your
side—Antonio and I have one goal in common, to separate Pedro and
Camila. [ed. note - Young lady, you and your brother should stop
playing these adolescent games and concentrate on getting your hands on
the ranch.]
Greggo tries one last time to get Lulu on his side. He can do more for
her than Antonio. What would she say if Greggio buys all Pedro’s grain?
He’d have the money to do lots more. [ed. note - Excuse me, but how
does this help Lucrecia?]
Lu--Sorry, popsie, I’m staying on bro’s side.
DG--I
warned you, Lucrecia—you won’t get what you want by helping Antonio or
get Pedrito either. You are going to the nut house and I’m the one who
will send you there.
As she is finally released, Lucrecia rattles
the cage and sounds off to no one in particular with righteous
indignation about her innocence.
In Oscar’s mansion –
Armando continues to be impressed by Renato’s pretend mansion. He can’t
wait to move in. Renato tells him gently that they will probably live
at Rita’s. Armando doesn’t understand. Money isn’t everything, says
the man for whom money is everything. Actually he’s planning to buy a
big new house after he and Elvira get married. [ed. note –AVOCADO
SIGHTING: Hanging on the wall in the kitchen is a print of a pair of
low-hanging avocados.]
Renato is pleased with how easily Armando
believed him. Secretario-guy wants to be paid. Relajate hombre.
Tomorrow he will be married, the day after he’ll have his money. [ed.
note – And what planet are you from, Renato? The Only Bank in Fresno is
going to process that check overnight? Will Elvira endorse it on her
wedding night? Better question, will Renato really get married?]
Sonny
boy calls Mama to give her an update—the wedding will have flowers and
champagne and he’s even got the judge. Elviral wants Armando to tell
Renato that, as a wedding present for her, he should open a checking
account in her name. [ed. note – Renato is going to do that how? He
lives in effectivo off of everyone else’s cash—just wondering.] Armando
says, Que? Never mind, says Mama, I’ll take care of that later.
Elvira
signs off and sighs into the balmy breeze, Ah, Renato is just what I
deserve. [ed. note – Madam, no truer words were spoken.]
In El Tal
– Aunt Pat gets a surprise visit from—Que haces aquí—Don Gregorio. He
wants to talk to Pedro, who has justamente regresado with Camila. He’s
here to help Pedro in the matter of his daughter. [ed. note – HUH?]
Lately his daughter hasn’t been too well mentally nor emotionally.
Pedro wants to know where this is going. Well, Greggy thinks she needs
treatment in a psychiatric hospital, but he needs Pedro and Camila to
attest before a judge before she can be committed.
If they
cooperate, she will be out of their way. The two are muy impactados and
refuse to be a part of this. They believe, correctly, that what he’s
doing is for his convenience and not to help Lucrecia. Then Pedro
brings up Mariana. He gets in Don G’s face and demands to know what
happened to Mariana; he’s sure Don G had something to do with her
disappearance.
The accusations fly back and forth regarding who
killed or made Mariana disappear. Meanwhile calm reigns in the cabaña.
Claudio is getting ready to go out with Flo. He’s chatting with
Gabriel. Oooops, scratch the calm, Lucrecia pops in without knocking.
She plans to stay on at El Tal, even though Clau doesn’t think that is a
good idea. She needs to talk to Pedro and explain that she didn’t have
anything to do with the attempt on his life. Flo arrives, stage right.
Lu quickly exits, stage right. Flo and Clau then exit, stage right.
Tracy
pops in to visit Camila even though it’s bedtime. She lets it slip
that she’s finally free of Meester Renato. Camila picks up on that, oh,
goody, she says, now you can tell me the TRUTH about Renato. (Last
Scene)
In El Al – The sibs are home. There is a Doris sighting
(complete with rolling stock). There is a confrontation. She calls
them Los Hermanitos del Infierno (the siblings from Hell). She
overheard their scheming against Pedro and Camila and thinks Pedro would
be delighted to hear it from her. But again, maybe she won’t. Maybe
she’ll think about it. The Hermanitos from Hell hector her then, alone
talk some more about the situation.
Don G is on his way home,
thinking about the last accusation Pedro made---that Mariana indeed is
alive because he spoke to her. This sends shivers of doubt through him.
Just
then Panchito pops up, as Don G takes a phone call of his own from
Mariana. This time she vows to finish him off [ed. note – terminar ≠
terminate]. Greggy is convinced it is a hoax and that Pedro is behind
it.
Fab is sad—no phone calls from her novio today. Alberta urges her to wait one more day before crossing him off her list.
In the Only Little Whorehouse in Frsnw
(to protect the innocent, or guilty) – Lucas shows up, but not as a
paying customer. He’s on official business. He tells Brigitte that
he’s changed his mind and will accept the job of providing a fake last
will and testament for Don G’s dead wifey. Too late, says Brigitte.
You waited too long and the job has gone to someone else. He begs. She
says she will try to get Don G to give it back to him.
Brigitte
calls the Don about Lucas. She wants to tell him that Lucas will do the
job they fooled him into thinking someone else got the job. He says
he’s on his way to see her. Ooops, Doris is on her way as well. Fun
and games next time.
In The Only Hotel Inn™ Fresno –
Armando gets back to the room to find a giddy as a schoolgirl Elvira
wanting to know what HAPPENED, details, details. There’s a knock at the
door. It’s her wedding dress, a gift from Renato. She squeals with
delight. Oh, and she just has to look at the label—heavens to Betsy, it
is a designer outfit, look at the label.
In the Funniest Scene Yet
– Secretario-guy wants to know what Renato did with the last $1,000 he
got from him. He bought her a wedding dress. [ed. note – if it cost
only $1,000, then it’s a knock off. Well, well, clever guy. He paid a
seamstress around the corner make it up and sew in the designer labels
he swiped from a dress shop.]
MERCIFULLY, THE END

La Que No Podía Amar #57 Thursday 3/15/12 The Woman Who Couldn't Admit to Being Jealous
We start right in with Gus and Cinthia. He wishes he'd sent the flowers, but he didn't think of it in time. He's got three dinner options, though…he's interrupted by the maid, bringing in the card for the flowers. David, of course, promising not to cause any more problems. She doesn't tell Gus who it was, but he doesn't blame the guy, whoever he is. Cause she's so hot and sensitive and decided. Pfft! He's glad she's actually trying to give things a go instead of just running her mouth.
Rogelio doesn't know Gustavo's last name. He talks about him being an engineer and maybe coming to work there. Rog remembers that Paula's boyfriend was also named Gustavo. They start to get into an argument again because of her conviction that he had Gustavo beaten. Rog flips his wig and breaks some knickknacks before wheeling out of her room at high speed.
Esteban and Chio have finished their date and she tries to get him to come upstairs. He's definitely buying what she's selling.
Cinthia comes home from her date all giddy and is startled by Efrain, waiting up for her. He tries to suggest they get it on in the living room, but she insists it's O-V-E-R! Well, Efrain doesn't care. He says she'll always be his and earns himself a slap. Cin threatens to rat him out to Rogelio. She tells him to go hang out with Ulises and his family on their vacation and just leave her alone already.
Ana Paula is really freaked out thinking Cin's Gustavo is also "her" Gustavo. Dany doesn't think it's possible, but Ana Paula is doing the relationship map and coming to the correct conclusion. She's distraught to think Gustavo could love anything but her. Dany says she'd better get used to the idea. "You broke up! You can't expect him to wait around for you for an hour and a half!" Well, AP can't stand the idea of him loving someone else. "He can't be with Cinthia! He can't!" Hey, look who's sounding like big sister Vanessa.
Cinthia tells Elsa about her hot date. She's sure they would have kissed, if she'd wanted. They discuss strategy. Elsa thinks Cin should send herself flowers and turn down another date with Gus. "He'll forget all about that ex-girlfriend, and for good. He'll be all yours!"
AP calls Gustavo, but the connection isn't great. He asks if she's divorced yet, hopefully, but she says she won't be divorced so soon. He wants nothing more to do with her and asks her not to waste his time. AP says she has to know who he was going out with while they were apart. "Where the hell do you get off asking me that?!" He tells her to quit bugging him so he can get on with his life. AP passes the sentiment on to Dany and Dany agrees with Gus. She defends her decision not to tell Gus the truth, which Dany doesn't agree with. AP finally agrees that Gustavo has a right to be happy, even if it's not with her.
Rosaura tries to play nice with Rogelio, but he's having none of it. "What do you want now?" A favor, of course. "Don't turn me against my niece." Rosaura insists she's on Rog's side. She read the contract and she thinks it was good Rog is getting the extra days. "The thing is, I read how I can be her representative…"Rog tells her to quit pimping out her niece.
AP can't stand the thought of her and Gus being apart when they love each other so much. Dany reminds her she made her self-sacrificing bed and now she's gotta lie in it. "Set him free and quit tormenting yourself!" Dany says if she goes looking for him after this whole contract is over and they still love each other, then nothing can keep them apart.
Rosaura says pimpin' ain't easy…even though she swears she's not pimping! She says she doesn't have a power of attorney, but she thinks she can get it. Rogelio tells her to forget it. He only put that clause in there because she told him she had power of attorney already. Rosaura thinks he'll be singing a different tune when he needs her to help him extend the contract. Rogelio is sneeringly amused.
Esteban and Gus talk about Vanessa. Esteban is pissed that Van went to San Gabriel. He admits he's trying to give it a go with Chio. He reminds Gus that he's wanting kids for a long time and he thinks Chio is an ideal brood mare. Esteban opines that it's possible to love many different people in different ways, and if Vanessa didn't want to be the mother of his children, then it's time for him to move on. Gus agrees, "It's one thing to love a woman and another to pine for her when she doesn't want you. Enough waiting around for these women!" "Yeah, they'll find someone to love them, but not someone to beg!" I roll my eyes at the two of them. They say that now, but by this time next week, Esteban will be whining about Vanessa again and Gus will be back to his chest-heaving scrunchy-faced alter-ego again.
More whining on AP's part about Gus wanting someone else, thinking the contract is unfair, etc. And Dany telling her to get over herself.
Vanessa likes the look of her new San Gabriel offices. There's even room for her to live there, if she doesn't want to live at Bruno's place. David encourages her to not stay at Bruno's. He offers to handle the remodeling, but Vanessa only lets him be in charge of putting up a sign for the office. She tells the boys that they need to get to work already so that Rogelio can quit having everything his way.
Ana Paula, wearing the tangerine version of the red dress Vanessa's currently wearing, sashays into Rogelio's office. He wants them to go into town and AP figures she'll use the visit as an opportunity to pick up supplies for Don Abel's visit. Rog says they'll be making a lot more public appearances now. He needles her about wanting to be rid of him. AP muses that she wishes things could be different between them, but "You don’t get to choose who you love." "Yeah, don't I know it."
Team Evil continues to strategize. If they want to buy Rancho La Negra, but David's flat broke, Bruno doesn't have more than a fourth. Vanessa's going to have to bankroll Team Evil. She agrees and tells Bruno to start the negotiations and keep things quiet. Then they'll cut off Rogelio's water supply. But what about telling Cinthia? Vanessa offers to explain to Cinthia that it's only temporary and they'll turn the water back on once she has her part of the hacienda back.
Yes, Chio and Esteban did the nasty. Mercedes is happy for them. Chio swears she's in luuuuuuuurve. Mercedes is still determined not to get back together with Ernesto.
Rogelio's in town, at the fonda, and he sees David. He calls him a jerk for sending the cops to the hacienda. "I told you to drop the thing with the truck." "No, you told me to harm him." Rog warns David to leave AP and her family alone. David waves his big…ego…around, talking about how Rogelio wll be sorry when he sees what David builds on the land that Rogelio wanted to buy. Rogelio knows David can't afford to build on it himself, and cracks up laughing at the idea of someone forming a business partnership with David. "What idiot would do that?!" Vanessa walks in and announces that she is that idiot.
Bruno's hench sees Maripaz in Tuxtla. She tries to get away from him, but without her parents around, he won't back down.
Vanessa and David try to make Rogelio nervous about their partnership. Vanessa tells Rog that she bought the land in Boca del Cielo. Rog just laughs, saying she has no idea what kind of scorpion she just let climb onto her back! Vanessa looks nervous.
Rosaura tries to talk AP into signing over power of attorney, saying it's just a thing rich people do. Plus, then AP won't have to discuss her contract with Rogelio…her loving Pimp can take care of it for her. Rosaura encourages her to ask Bruno. AP says no way will she ever sign anything else without having a lawyer explain it to her. Justino, who’s been left in charge of the store while Ulises is away, and who is unfortunately played by an actor whose agent couldn't get him a better deal and therefore has no lines, just shrugs and shakes his head when AP asks if he's heard anything from the family.
Rog tells Vanessa he doesn't think her dad would have approved of her getting into construction. David and Vanessa keep trying to get the better of Rogelio, telling him Cinthia is working with them. Rog says he won't allow that.
Rutilio is still trying to make a play for an increasingly nervous Maripaz. Efrain comes up and gets Rutilio to go away. Maripaz tells him that Rutilio scares her.
Rogelio says he knows they're trying to piss him off. "What do you think you're doing? Turning my sister against me?" Looks like it's working. He angrily warns them that they aren't going to take advantage of Cinthia. Vanessa completely disingenuously tells him that they have no ill will towards him…"Besides, we're partners. There's no reason for us not to get along."
Gus visits Cinthia and brings her a rose. "I shouldn't have forgotten about you. I hope there's still time to fix that." Cin starts to kiss him, but pulls back and gives him a peck on the cheek. She plays it cool, saying she's glad he's moving on with his life. Gus moves in for the hardcore smoochies. Which might be more convincing if he didn't look like he was having to work so hard to talk himself into doing it.
Rogelio knows they're up to no good. AP walks in with Rosaura, announcing she's got all the ingredients she needs. Vanessa mocks her, saying she's not only a nurse, now she's also a cook. She and AP start to throw down, but Rogelio tells them to quit fighting like a couple of greengrocers. Vanessa tells them that she's opening an office in San Gabriel, so they'll be seeing quite a lot of each other. Vanessa tells AP she's just upset because she knows that Vanessa is more of a woman than she is…then she lays quite the liplock on Rogelio. And the dumbass participates quite enthusiastically, leaving AP to just stare at the two of them confused. Screw that…I want to see some hair pulling already!
Cinthia is glad she's together with Gus again. She tells him if his ex shows up again…"Don't worry, she already looked me up and I told her I was getting on with my life. Not that I'm proposing or anything."
Rosaura's the one who pulls Vanessa off of Rogelio and continues the verbal banter. Vanessa brings up the blackmail money Rosaura took. She plays innocent and drags AP out of there. Rog starts to go after them, then turns back and tells Vanessa not to pull another stunt like that. "I love my wife." Vanessa says if he loves his wife, he wouldn't be responding to her the way he was. "You married her because she reminds you of me." As she paws his face, Rogelio ponders this.
Gus is ready to get on with his life. Cin is ready to help him. By smooching him.
AP fumes and Rosaura tries to talk her down. She's pissed that Rogelio let her kiss him. She's grossed out that he's been macking on 2 sisters. Rosaura insists she's just jealous. AP wants to get the heck out of there. Rosaura looks like she's thinking that little display from Vanessa wasn't such a bad thing.
Ernesto comes over to visit Mercedes and bring her flowers and insist they should get back together again. He's sure with a little family therapy, his daughter will get over it. Mercedes isn't going to see him in secret.
Hugo tells Rog that AP already left with Jacinto. He borrows Hugo's phone to call Cinthia. She finally answers and he asks her about working with David and Vanessa. "They're only using you to piss me off!" He reminds her that she has no work experience and they have no reason to hire her. Cinthia is determined to prove to him she can do it. She hangs up on him after refusing to come home. Gus looks bothered by her side of the conversation.
Mercedes finally talks Ernesto into leaving her alone until after Marcella's ok with them being together.
David doesn't think Vanessa's display was such a good idea. Bruno comes in with bad news--La Negra's owner's sister is on her way. I don't understand why this is bad news, but Bruno says they have to keep it from Rogelio that the hacienda is up for sale or he'll definitely try to buy it so he can expand.
Miguel and Dany are having a nice quiet chat when AP comes home in a right snit about Rogelio. Rosaura gives Miguel the gossip. Maria fumes about Vanessa upsetting Rogelio.
Cinthia pouts about Rogelio not believing in her. Gus thinks what Cin is doing proves that she's not just trying to get married to get her inheritance, but is trying to make her own way. Cin says she doesn't care if the guy has money or not, she's going to marry whoever she wants. Efrain comes in to announce he's going to drag her home, even if he has to do it by force. He grabs her arm, but Gustavo intervenes.
Maria continues fuming about Vanessa. Rosaura tells her to quit fussing and get work. She refuses to give Maria the recipe AP was going to use, since she figures Maria can't read. Maria shoots back that Rosaura doesn't seem to be too educated herself. She tries to get Rosaura to help her with the cooking, but Rosaura swishes away, saying she has to go comfort her niece.
Efrain doesn't want to have to explain to Rogelio why he came home without Cinthia, so Gus says he'll do it.
AP continues her jealous tirade to Miguel. He offers to quit therapy so she won't owe Rogelio any more, but both AP and Dany say he's got to keep going.
Rogelio's cell rings. Efrain tells him he couldn't drag Cinthia away, but Gus got in his way. Rogelio bitches that he always has to do everything himself. He fires Efrain.
Gus insists on confronting Rogelio and insists on Cinthia coming with him. He says no one will lock her up, and if they do, he'll spring her!
Rogelio asks Dany and Miguel to clear out so he can talk to Paula. He's pissed at her for leaving and taking the truck. "Well, you said whatever's yours is mine, right?" Rogelio agrees, it's all hers, starting with him. AP fumes that he's the one ugly thing on this beautiful hacienda and slaps him. Well, I knew someone was getting smacked, I just think it was going to go down quite like that.
Tomorrow: Rog accuses AP of being jealous; Gustavo confronts Rogelio at the hacienda.

El Talismán #32 Thu 3/15/12 Beware the Ides of March (or If you think you're the emperor don't turn your back on anyone)
Recap by Anita, Editor In Chief of the Fresno Underground Gazette
Scenes in Tijuana—Pedro & Camila spend some quality time
on the sofa in the church office. They go together to visit Sister
Luciana’s grave. They promise her that they will return to TJ to open a
Casa de Huerfanos.
Aunt Pat calls Pedro to tell him that Lukrazy
was arrested for attempted homicide. Pedro and Cam natter on about
Lukrazier. They find out the Mariana phone call came from a public
phone in Fresno. Camila thinks that Mariana is very close to being able
to be found (think, girl, think about it some more…). The Padre comes
running up to tell the pair that someone in TJ will buy ALL of El Tal’s
grano. Yippee, no bancarota for Pedro.
Scenes at Rita’s—Renato
gets the money (it was in the fridge). He lets Tracy go, but hedges
about leaving her and her familia en paz. She’ll just have to trust
him. With nowhere to go, Tracy goes to see Panchito at El Al.
Scenes in El Alcat—The
girls are nattering on about boyfriends. Panchito and Valentin natter
on about whose side Valentin is on and oh-ho, Pancho has had his eye on
him and he’s onto him, he KNOWS he’s on Antonio’s side (woe be to him
now). Valentin tries to show him the logic behind his decision—Antonio
is younger and healthier while Gregorio is old and sick. Uh-uh, says
Panchito, WRONG.
Panchito leaves Valentin with a warning—make up
your mind whose side you are going to be on, and make it up quick. If
you choose Antonio, rest assured Panchito will tell the patron on you.
Panchito
and Tracy come to an acuerdo—she will not share his digs, although they
obviously need a woman’s touch. Panchito uses his influence with
Greggy and gets her old job back. There’s lots of squealing when he
tells her.
Oh, somewhere in the midst of all this a lovely leg
protrudes from a vast bubble bath, what can we hope? Oh, shoot, it’s
Brigitte taking a phone call from Greggo wanting to know wassup with
Lucas.
Back to Panchito. Daddy-O tells him to get over to El Tal
quick as a bunny to find out if LuLu really is going to give part of
the ranch to Pedro (Greggy, my friend, you don’t need to worry about
this just yet…she is going to do this, how? what’s the hurry, anyway).
So, Gregorio doesn’t know LuLu went to jail. Alberta and Tracy natter
on about Antonio and the rancho.
Scenes in El Tal—Lucrazie
natters on to Claudio about Flo and how it’s all going to work out.
Later, Clau, Gab & Sara natter on about the Mariana phone calls.
Sara thinks it was a set up engineered by Lucrezzi. Claudio defends her
(duh). They check out La Viejita with the Hon. Detective Teniente.
He’s sure that whoever tampered with it didn’t know what they were
doing, so instead of cutting the brake line, he (or she) just disabled
it. Aunt Pat is sure it was Lukrashia. We see LuLu running around her
room trying to hide the infamous pincers. Well, she and the pincers are
caught in flagrante delicto and she’s hauled off to jail for some
‘splaining.
Scenes in the Jail—She protests her innocence. It
doesn’t phase El Detective, no siree. Rules are rules and he can’t
just let her go because she says she’s innocent. She needs to get a
lawyer and post bail.
LuLu tries blaming Camila—That zorra is
full of jealousy because Pedro has a thing for her. For Pete’s sake
(Not our Pedro), officer, she doesn’t even live at El Tal, so how is she
going to know where stuff is kept (like pincers). La señorita doth
protesta demasiado (are you listening Mr. El D?). Guess so, Our Little
Lulu is put away for suspicion of intent to commit a homicide, oh my.
She drops her dime on Antonio to get her out of there ASAP.
Antonio
visits Sis in jail. Do the writers think this is Mexico, where any old
person can come and go and sit in a holding cell with someone accused
of attempted homicide? Anyway, they have a rough embrace—ya, glad to
see you, too, brylcreme head, but I’m not going to touch it.
Bro
warns her not to do anything to Camila, while LuLu doesn’t want anything
to happen to Pedro. Quandary—dilemma. El D. tries to pump Tonio about
his sister’s past. Tonio finds the line of questioning offensive and
doesn’t answer (but he’s running it around his empty head as viewerville
is treated to some commercials). We don’t see what he decided because
we don’t see him any more tonight.
Finally, Daddy-O has been
informed LuLu is in jail and comes to the rescue. He puts things
straight. Daughter, you’d better play the game my way or you are going
to end up in a manicomio, and I’ll be the one who sends you there. (This
is actually the last scene of the evening.)
Scenes in The Only Hotel Inn™ Fresno/Oscar’s Place—Elvira
and Armando are nattering on about “the girl” who came to see him. She
knows he’s not forthcoming with the truth. He finally spills the beans
about the boda being in two days time. The music freaks out; Elvira
freaks out.
Armando is invited to the Renato’s mansion (I mean
Oscar’s mansion). Renato prepares the staff and prides himself on how
easy it is going to be to manipulate mama and her son—and the heck with
Camila, he’s not afraid of HER.
Secretario-guy has a hot chisme
for Renato—that Camila’s novio, PI Man, murdered his wife, sí, sí, it’s
all over town. Meanwhile, Armando’s amazed at all the lujo in the
house. Renato’s definitely rich.
Back to Antonio who’s still in
bed at the Hotel. Next to him is the little tart who dressed up as
Camila for him, but it turns out she’s the same one that provided the
voice for Mariana.
The room phone rings. It’s sissy from jail.
Antonio is furioso with her. He flings the receiver down--It’s all
Pedro’s fault (he uses a disparaging remark to describe Pedro). He
throws money at the little tart and tells her to largate, but reverses
direction when she reminds him that she is playing Mariana. Great, he
has another idea.
Elvira is ready to leave the hotel and runs
into Antonio in the lobby. He reminds her that he still OWNS her. It
doesn’t matter one whit that she is starting a new life along side her
husband-to-be, Renato. Uh-uh, you will live your whole life knowing you
are UNA ASESINA. Gulp.

Una Familia Con Suerte #165-166 Thu 3/15/12 We come to bury comedy, not to praise it.
Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears (or eyes), but not for long. Just a quickie tonight.
Chela and the kids wail and moan like professional mourners because Chela’s moving down the street.
Via phone:
Pancho: I love you!
Rebe: You have a strange way of showing it.
Pancho: You started it!
Rebe: *Click.*
Pancho: Waaaaahhhhh!!!
Next morning, the mafientourage arrives at the Lopez nuthouse as Chela is leaving, sad little suitcase in tow. Napo is way concerned with Chela’s wellbeing and insistent on pampering her. Napo decides he loves the big house and makes himself right at home, sitting down for breakfast, offering Ana help selling her CD, buddying up with Temo, and acting effusively polite to Fernanda. Temo breaks the news to Fernanda that they’re going to have a new little cousin.
Moni and Pepe seem to have settled right in at Enzo’s apartment. Moni hates keeping the secret from Enzo, even though Pepe keeps telling her it’s just for a short time while Chela wraps her swiss cheese mind around the situation.
Lidia tells Rebe she’s falling in love with Enzo. It’s going around, apparently. Out in the lobby, Midori outrageously hits on him. Note that they have JUST met. “Your place or mine?” she asks. Enzo crawls over the furniture to escape.
Chela settles into her new apartment amidst dizzy spells. Selling lotion and eye shadow must pay a lot better than jobs in auto mechanics and graphic design. Chacho drops by with groceries and a baby gift and they go out to breakfast.
Vins kisses Pina on the lips. Freddie and Meli: PUM! Vins encounters the gangster gang in the driveway. Candy is cold to him and ostentatiously affectionate to Napo. Napo stages a big show of Gracious Manners to Vins.
Tom’s face is all healed up and he says goodbye to his prison buddies. Street cred 4eva, dude. Outside in the free free air, he hugs Elena and kisses Lupita! Then he nearly gets barfed on by Chela. They take him back to the palace and Lupe and Elena peel grapes for him and fan him with palm fronds. They take him outside to be a free-range stud. The other girls notice Lupita’s dying sheep eyes.
Moni tells Enzo he’s going to be a dad again. He is THRILLED. Lidia asks whazzup and Enzo tells her. Sadness de Lidia. Moni finds out from Pepe where Chela lives and Enzo goes and confronts her. Why didn’t she tell him herself? Does she think so little of him? No, just the opposite, Chela says. She thinks the world of him and made a huge disaster of everything. Plus she saw him besuqueando Lidia. They have a long and cordial talk.
Midori moves on to her next prey: Pancho. It looks like something on Animal Planet. Pancho tells her she’s way too forward.
Midori: You’re right. I have a problem.
Pancho: Only one?
Midori: I tried to get therapy, but I just wanted to eat up the therapist!
Pancho: You’re a cannibal?!
Midori: No! A sex addict!
Vins bursts in and Midori throws herself at him instead. Celeste and Ketita decide they have to defend the menfolk from the shark-toothed bottom-feeder.
Napo gives Candy wedding night lingerie, which disgusts her. He talks about having Napoleoncitos and she hates that, but he’s just thrilled when she says she WAS afraid of him. Past tense! They’re soul mates!
Pina tries again to sic Kari on Freddie and he is NOT having it. Kari isn’t entirely on board either; she seems unwilling be a Midori but Pina pooh-poohs her thinking this is pointless if Freddie just isn’t into her.
Rebe and Lidia try to unravel their love triangle sex hexagon naughty Gordian knot. No, never mind, they want to keep it tangled. Rebe encourages Lidia to fight for Enzo. {Or, you know, I hear there’s an orange in Miami in need of another half.}
The DNA results are in. Pancho is officially Fernanda’s long-lost son. She cries. She tells Pancho and he cries. Then he cries more because apparently he didn’t know he was adopted, and OMG, Candy isn’t really his sister (I’m not sure he grasps the adoption concept. Lemme short-cut it for you, Pancho: Candy is your sister). Somehow he seems to think Candy will be upset to find she doesn’t share his DNA. I would think she’d be relieved.
Fernanda decides her mission in life is to get Rebe and Pancho back together.
Vins tells Pina and the lawyer he wants to cancel the divorce. She agrees, with one condition.
