Llena de Amor #82 (Mex. 87) Tue 12/7/10 A wedding-day masquerade.

At the church for the Wedding of the Year, or Of the Century, or whatever Fedra is hyping it as (although she certainly didn’t dress elegantly enough for such a momentous occasion): Ilitia, trembling and traumatized, clings to her father as he obliviously escorts her down the aisle to the altar. After the chummy handover, Emanuel notices something is amiss with the hours-missing miss. “Are you okay?” he asks. “Perfect. How about we get married?” “Well, that’s what we’re here for.”
Over at the house, Gretel has made her way from the snakepit to the foxhole. She tells Don Máximo that she never went to Switzerland; Fedra kept her locked in the cellar all this time. She begs for help and he tries to soothe her.
Back at the church, Ilitia is still putting on a brave face and Emanuel is looking like he’d rather be anywhere else. The priest asks if there is anyone with a reason they shouldn’t marry. Eman tries not to look too hopeful. As he casts his eyes about, hoping someone might speak up, he notices movement in the back of the church. He and Ilitia both turn around and watch the lady in red stride down the aisle. Marianela pauses, looking dead-eyed, and thought bubbles that they should remember her face, because it will follow them the rest of their lives. She crosses herself and steps into the pew. The priest gets back to asking whether Eman accepts Ilitia as his wife, but Emanuel is totally distracted and can’t stop staring at the interesting interloper. Ilitia is on the verge of tears. She gets Eman’s attention and he accepts. The question is asked of Ilitia, as Mauricio slips into the church and throws taunting looks at her. She flashes back to the unspeakable horror and faints. Everyone jumps up to catch her and call for a doctor. “Poor thing, and on her wedding day!” Malicio sympasnides to Kristel. Eman carries Ilitia out of the church.
At the police station, Doris asks Oliver out. “What the heck? You’re the one who has changed. Before, you couldn’t stand me,” he says. Doris tells him she heard what a downward spiral he has taken, and she wants him to be happy and fun like he was before. He needs to get that snotty abusive Gretel out of his head, and she is going to help him.
Gretel asks Max for money so she can escape and go far, far away so that Fedra won’t kill her. Max doesn’t want to miss out on spending time with her. Besides, where would she go? Fedra is smart and will just hunt her down. Gretel says she has to at least try. The general wants to think up a smart strategy to protect her, but Gretel says there’s no time. Max gives her a big stack of cash but says he can’t let her leave before he finds out if he is… There is an angry knock at the door. The Spiderus has scuttled out of the cave. Gretel freaks out.
Doris holds Oliver’s hands and tells him to forget Gretel and fall in love with one of the millions of women who would appreciate him. He says he’s still in love with Gretel, despite what she did. Doris says they should go do something fun for a distraction. For example, he could teach her how to shoot. “But you’ve always been afraid of guns.” Doris says she’s changed. You only get one life, so you have to live intensely.
Gretel hides in the bathroom and Max opens the door with a gun in his hand. Spidey says he lost something and wants to look for it. Max won’t let him in. Benigno runs in for backup. Spiderus mocks the two of them and I don’t know why they don’t just shoot him. Oliver would certainly fudge the evidence and say it was an accident. They get rid of the leech. Benigno is thrilled to see Gretel and dismayed at her condition. The general charges him with getting Gretel out of the house without the serpent or her lackey noticing.
Oliver teaches Doris to shoot. He takes the hands-on approach. The groping works, because she manages a good shot and hugs and kisses Oliver in celebration.
The household staff direct the caterers and decorators to set up for the reception. Benigno pushes a huge cake box on a cart. Looks perfect for hiding someone in, so Spiderus insists on checking it out. He and Benigno tussle over the box, and Spidey goes sprawling with the cake smashed all over his head. Paula and Benigno laugh hysterically. Gretel sneaks past them with a duffel bag.
Doris fires another successful shot and whirls around, whooping with joy. Oliver ducks in panic and nervously takes the gun away from her. Doris just can’t keep her hands off him as she convinces him to come home for the party with dancing and everything. The dating scene in Los Angeles must have been awfully dismal.
The families have brought Ilitia back to the house. Muñeca mentions that the priest didn’t even have a chance to finish the wedding. They all ask Ilitia what happened and she says nothing, just a bad moment. She wants to get out to the party.
Benigno takes Gretel to a nice hotel. She worries that it’s too expensive and she’ll run out of money. He tells her not to worry. He’ll bring her whatever she needs. For now, she just needs to rest while they figure out what to do. By “rest” I think he means “take a shower.” He leaves and Gretel looks at herself in the mirror.
At the pensión, everyone is eating their tasty dinner in the living room. Doris tries to coax Oliver into party spirits. Consuelo and Brandon zing flirty looks back and forth. Gladiola offers Brandon more pozole and Consuelo insists on fetching it. She and Glad fight over his bowl while Netty stares. Finally Gladiola cottons that this isn’t about soup. “What’s going on between you two?” she asks. They are all wide-eyed innocence. Gladiola still looks suspicious. Netty says she wishes Marianela were there to enjoy the reunion with them, but she’s far away and will never come back, since she has to forget her One True Love.
At the wedding reception, musicians play while Axel stares at them, entranced. Delicia walks up and offers him champagne. She teases that he may only have one, because as smoochy as he is sober, she’d hate to see him drunk. He just says he’d give anything to be in the musicians’ place.
Bernardo whines to Fedra that Gretel hit him on the head. “What do you want me to do, give you a massage to make it all better? Just up her drugs,” Fedra says snidely. “No, you don’t understand. She escaped.”
Kristel and the rapey snake are in the office. He’s got a briefcase full of money which he says is to do with his “business.” “What kind of business is it that you do? Is it legal? Are you mixed up in something dirty?” Kristel finally asks after all these years. He’s insulted that she doubts him when he’s been slaving away, saving for their future. Kristel apologizes profusely. Someone is knocking at the door through the whole scene but they don’t seem to notice.
Wedding socializing. Emanuel again asks Ilitia whether she’s okay. She insists she is and offers a toast for the start of the beginning of her marriage to the love of her life. Everyone raises their glasses, salud. Marianela marches in and also toasts, to the happiness of the newlyweds and the whole Ruiz y de Teresa family. Everyone looks confused.
“Who the hell are you? Who invited you?” Fedra asks Mari. “No one. I invited myself.” Well, that’s the limit. Mari introduces herself as Victoria de la Garza, a friend of the owner of this house. “You’re crazy. I’ve never seen you before in my life,” Fedra sneers. “No, I mean Marianela Ruiz y de Teresa,” Mari says, and even with that fresh reminder they don’t notice that she still has the same face and voice. Emanuel is thrilled that she is a friend of Mari’s and happily introduces himself and asks if there is any news from Mari. “She just asked me to deliver this,” Mari says, dumping bundles of the letters he sent into his arms.
Gretel is clean and her hair is brushed! Oh happy day. She remembers Bernardo telling her that the last they heard of Oliver, he had married and moved away, and he and his wife were expecting a child. Of course he’s forgotten about Gretel.
Emanuel sadly notices that all the letters are unopened. Fedra and Lorenzo remind him that he’s supposed to be caring about Ilitia, not Marianela. He tries to get any information about Mari anyway, but she ignores him. Emiliano introduces himself and Mari/Victoria tells him that Mari found the peace she was looking for, and kisses him on the cheek “from Marianela.” Emanuel continues staring at her.
Spidey creeps in and tells Fedra that some ladies want to leave their handbags in the office. Fedra tells him to keep an eye on the new lady.
Kristel and Malicio continue making out in the office. Kristel mentions that sometimes she wonders about the baby they lost, and imagines him with Mau’s eyes and smile. Somehow this doesn’t seem to give her nightmares. Malicio is disgusted and says he’ll leave her if she ever mentions it. Bernie breaks in and some women put their purses on the desk. He tells the puerile pair to find a more appropriate place for their grossness.
Back to the boring reception, Emanuel and Ilitia dance and everyone else sits around. Mari thinks he’s a hypocrite, dancing with his new wife while pretending to be worried about his old fiancée. Kristel and her parasite wander out of the office and he ogles Mari/Victoria. Kristel forbids this behavior, and he forbids her to make jealous scenes. He slimes over and introduces himself smarmily to MariVicky. He greasily suggests they get to know each other better, and she leads him to the dance floor. Kristel can’t have this, so she frantically announces it’s time to change partners, pulls Ilitia away from Emanuel, and shoves her at Mauricio, simultaneously pushing MariVicky at Emanuel. Ilitia is not thrilled, to say the least.
Bernardo tells a herd of women that the Lirio de Plata has been pilfering from these types of events, but their purses are safe locked up here in the office. They drop their bags and leave. “Ooh, what expensive things these emperifolladas ladies have. I wonder what I would do with so much money,” Nerieda sighs. “You’d better not try to find out,” Bernardo warns. She reluctantly agrees.
Emanuel and MariVicky dance closely. He tells her that not a day goes by that he doesn’t think of his precious gordita. He heard she married and moved to Paris. Is this true?
Malicio coerces Ilitia to dance with him, although she’s crying and looking like she may vomit. She calls him a pig and says she should denounce him. He says she’ll keep her mouth shut and not cause a scandal. She pushes him away and runs to daddy. Low and Muñeca ask what’s wrong and she pretends she’s just upset because Eman keeps dancing with La Gorda’s friend. Low digs himself into a little hole ogling the lady in red in response.
Emanuel holds MariVicky very close and desperately begs for information on his beloved gordita.
The pensión denizens are having a way better party, dancing up a storm. Oliver is perking up and Brandon and Consuelo are…whatever.
Mari has wandered off into a quiet corridor. She tells her dead parents that this house has only bad memories for her, but she’s here for them, to get the proof she needs about Fedra’s dastardly deeds. She’s at the office door when Emanuel comes along, thinking she’s looking for the bathroom. She says she wants to talk to him, because he asked about Marianela. Well, Mari is living very happily in Paris with her husband. Con permiso. Eman tearily holds her back and says he just needs to know one other thing: has Mari forgotten about him? He doesn’t understand. They were so in love, and then she just left with no explanation. WHY? He cries as Mari stares stonily at him, thinking about his tumble into bed with Ilitia and the poisoned chocolates. “I am the one who doesn’t understand. If you’re not over Marianela, why did you just marry this other woman?” MariVicky asks. His answer to that is too lame to believe. He says he married Ilitia because they have an understanding about his lingering feelings for Mari. Well, that sounds like a solid basis for a happy life together. After he sadly leaves, Mari sneaks into the office.
Doris and Oliver head out to the sidewalk for a change of air. She’s thrilled that he seems happy again. He says what she’s doing for him is invaluable. Doris says maybe so, but he can have it for a cheap price. She suggests he hit on her again, the way he used to. He’s out of practice, but gives it a try: “Know what the most beautiful thing is, in my eyes? The reflection of yours.” They laugh and flirt, and I swear Oliver is blushing furiously. They start to kiss, right exactly as Gretel wanders up the street and sees them.
Mari rifles through the office, looking for evidence. She wonders how to open the safe. She hears something and looks behind the curtains. A figure clad all in black, hood, gloves, mask, everything, creeps up behind her and grabs her, covering her mouth. You’d almost swear this guy was totally recognizable as Emanuel, but then again, you can’t possibly recognize Victoria as Marianela, so who knows? He tells her to hold still and stay quiet. He’s polite enough to introduce himself, though, as el Lirio de Plata.
Gretel runs away right before Oliver thinks better of kissing Doris. Oliver and Doris both apologize to the other for getting carried away. Gladiola comes out to fetch them and Oliver heads back inside. “Mamá, what would you say if Oliver and I were novios?” Doris asks. “Are you crazy? That’s the last thing I need!” Gladiola says. She thinks Oliver is a hopeless case and a waste of time for her beloved daughter.
“El Lirio de Plata?! Where did you get that name?” Mari asks. “If you want to get out of here, don’t ask and don’t investigate,” threatens Darth Lirio. He pushes her to the sofa and ties her hands and gags her.
Out at the party proper (that is, the party that is too proper to be any fun), Muñeca notices that Ilitia has lost an earring. Ilitia just takes the other one off. She is not going to let anything bother her and ruin her wedding. Lowrenzo reminds them and us that this is the event of the year. Dismal year, yikes. Malicio worms his way into the conversation and Ilitia tells him to scram. Lowrenzo remarks that ever since Mau became a mafiosito, he’s been more intolerable than ever. “Excuse me! Mi puchunguito is zero Mafioso!” Kristel objects. Low scoffs. Mau decides it’s time Lowrenzo slithered off into the sunset, and he punches him to the floor. Thus begins the traditional wedding fistfight.
Gretel stands on the sidewalk, crying that Oliver has forgotten her, and it’s all her fault. She broke his heart. Oh, well, it’s for the best. He never could have been happy with her.
André and Axel pull Lowrenzo and Malicio apart. They continue to exchange words, and Fedra and Emiliano join in the yelling. Ilitia begs them all to behave, for her sake. Fedra frantically tries to pretend that everything’s rosy and urges the band to kick it up. She grabs Nereida and asks her to check on Bernardo and the bag-watching, because the last thing they need after all this is for the Lirio de Plata to strike this shindig.
Darth Lirio tells Mari he won’t hurt her. He rifles through the purses and stuffs loot into a black bag. Anyone’s guess why all those ladies would bring valuables to leave in their handbags. Mari objects to abetting a thief and tries to get away. Lirio grabs her and pulls her behind the door as Nereida comes in. Nereida does not notice them. El Lirio manhandles Mari muchly.
Tomorrow: Kristel and Ilitia gripe about the nubile newcomer; a crowd gathers outside the office where Mari is still tied up.
Despistar – to confuse, to throw off the trail
Me tratabas de nabo – you treated me as an idiot
Baba de conejo – rabbit drool? Which somehow works as a term of endearment, because Oliver said it.
Chiquibú – another of Kristel’s pet names for Agent Orange
Desfachatez -- audacity
Emperifollada – gussied-up, titivated
La vida es una fiesta y el que no baile se entume – Life is a party, and he who doesn’t dance gets stiff
Piropo – pick-up line; flirtatious comment
Chascarillo – a joke
Chacoteo – joking around; silliness

La Verdad Oculta EP60 11/07/2010 - Another Letter of Doom

...or: Smeagol enters the tunnel

* Leo shows up in the Genovés villa to ask more inconvenient questions from Mario. David quickly says his father isn't at home but they can talk in the hall, and quietly asks Gabriela to tell Mario he mustn't leave the study.

Leonardo in his accustomed calm "the hound hunts down its prey" manner tells David the story of the strangled dancer, and mentions that both Adolfo Ávila and Mario Genovés were involved in the crime. David fiercely protests that his dad has nothing to do with Marta Sardíval! Yeah, Gaby said she'd heard Adolfo talking about that woman but she's wrong! He tries to get rid of Leo, but the detective hasn't finished yet. The police suspects Adolfo Ávila wanted to smuggle diamonds hidden in a pair of shoes... the shoes he gave to David's wife. David's suddenly all ears. Leo asks about the photos but unfortunately they're lost. All of them? What about the one Carlos Ávila kept in his office? David is surprised, how does Leo know about that? From Fausto Guillén. Hmm. David repeats they don't have the photos anymore. The detective thinks David and his father don't want to collaborate with the police, and what is more, he suspects they don't tell him the truth. Anyway. He would like to talk with Gab. David the Jealous asks if Leo wishes to interrogate Gaby, too. No. Then good bye, Senor, they're done. For the time being, adds Leonardo. In the study David asks Fausto if he talked about the shoes to Leonardo, but he denies it. Then it must've been her, says David.

* Caramelo tells Juan José she's going to have lunch with Elsa! For a chance JJ has no problem with it, on the contrary, he asks Asunción to give her a letter.

* Newly homeless Bertha calls her Sugar Daddy to ask for a private appointment. Alejandra starts to worry about her and asks her if she really stole that photo. No, she didn't!

* David's worried sick because of the shoes and Leonardo's visits, and he's not fond of playing the idiot either. He's afraid Gaby might look for Leonardo again to explain her everything. Fausto protests: come on, boy, my daughter is a decent girl! Yes, David knows that, but Leonardo does like her! Fausto asks him to let him talk with Gaby first. Okay. A few minutes later it's Gaby, who opens her heart to SantiMario. She thinks everything that happened lately was her fault, she was the one who talked about Marta to Leo. Oh... And is that true that David isn't Mario son? Because Adolfo told her so. Yes, it's true. And is this mysterious Marta David's mother? What? No! SantiMario swears he doesn't know any Marta, and by the way David already knows he isn't his father. Does Gaby feel calmer now? Yes. Great.

* Caramelo tells Elsa a kid always tries to bully her in school because she has no parents. What if Elsa was her mom? Sorry, sweetie, she doesn't know. By the way, JJ send her a letter! Caramelo asks her to read it right there, and Elsa obeys. "Elsa. I'd like to apologize..." Suddenly she becomes silent and puts it back into her bag.

* Ramón and Leo learn another interesting facts about the Guillén family: Santiago changed not only his name but his daughters', too. Gabriela's original name is Marta and Julieta was Elena. Santiago and Marta got married in 1983, and after some calculation Leonardo realizes that Marta was pregnant at the wedding! Ramón says it isn't unusual, but Leo's "little grey cells" think otherwise. What if she was carrying someone else's child? Then Faustiago was jealous for reason.

* At her workplace Elsa reads the letter again.

"I'd like to apologize because I was rude to you. You don't deserve to being treated like that. You're a very pretty, generous woman with a heart of gold. I will never forget how you treated me while I was in prison, and how you took care of my mom while I couldn't do that. And that's why, because you're so good I'd like you to give me an opportunity to get closer to, to explain my behaviour and to offer you my sincere friendship. This is all ask from you. I wish you would listen to me for a moment, and if you don't want to see my anymore I'll understand and I'll never bother you again.
Juan José"

She's very touched by JJ's words and a smile of hope lights up her face. In a bar JJ is nervously waiting for Elsa and when she shows up he confesses he was afraid she wouldn't come. He thought she didn't want meet him ever again. Yes, that's true but when she was reading the letter she remembered Piedad who definitely wouldn't want them to be angry at each other. It's true. JJ repeats how grateful he is for everything she did for him. He realized he has no right to boss her around or to tell her who she's allowed to spend her time with. If she thinks Mauricio Medina is the man who'll make her happy he's fine with that, but she needs to know she can count on him forever. Como dos hermanos. (Like brother and sister.) Elsa's smile freezes, this didn't sound like the speech she was expecting.

* Julieta enthusiastically informs Gaby of Bertha's departure, and David confirms it.

* Bertha arrives at the Ávila condo, and while Carlos is eavesdropping, she tells the old rascal that hell brake loose when the last photo disappeared. Anyway, why is that damned picture so important? Adolfo promises (for the 100th time) to tell her later, and generously offers her an apartment in one of his hotels.

* Leonardo, who was supposed to meet Bertha that day, calls her at the Genovés villa. David orders Susana to tell him she doesn't live there anymore, then asks his wife not to meet Leo again.

* Adolfo shows Bertha her new, beautiful home. The persistent girl asks him again about the photos, and playfully warns him she's not a tonta (stupid woman). Adolfo smiles at her and says he'd like to get known of her better. Fine! Bertha says she's a very ambitious woman and she'd do anything to gain money. Adolfo thinks if she keeps behaving likes that she'll get everything she wants and she'll be richer than David. Oh, by the way, he has more money than Mario... Wink, wink. *Viewerville: yuck*

* In the tunnel house Fausto and his son-in-law discuss Gabriela again. The only thing he told her is that David isn't Mario's son. Blondie asks him if he knew Leonardo and Bertha were supposed to have lunch together. After he leaves Abelardo asks Fausto what happened to David. *Viewerville: this time* Oh, he's jealous at Leonardo Faidella. The men laugh. However, the Bertha-Leonardo relationship makes Fausto worried.

* Julieta, who's taking English classes, would like to watch a few tutoring videos, and David says she may use Mario's DVD player in his bedroom. *I can't believe there aren't a dozen televisions in that house.* After Juli leaves David says now Gaby knows Mario isn't his real father. Yes, it's true. But what about that Marta? She really doesn't want to contradict Mario's statements but she DID hear Adolfo talking about that woman! And Leo's search for the photos... What happened, David? Don't tell her that everything's fine. She's afraid David thinks she's a stupid girl, that's why he doesn't tell her anything. Never! Look, the fact is that Leonardo is investigating after Adolfo's supposed smuggling operation... and finally Gaby learns about the diamonds, Bertha and the importance of the photos.

* Leonardo visits Marcos in prison. Does he know how important those shoes are for the police? It's natural he sold a few diamonds to have money. But if Marcos tells Leo the truth he'll do everything he can to help him. Marcos admits he and his girlfriend brought the shoes back to Mexico. What's his girlfriends name? Marcos answers it's not her fault. Whatever. Her name? Susana Gómez, and he doesn't know where she lives now.

* Naughty Sue is in Roberto's flat. She tells him how angry David was because of the photo, he even kicked Bertha out! Both are puzzled and they agree that everything is strange in the Genovés household. Roberto is very interested in the tunnel Susana mentioned earlier. She wasn't lying, was she? Of course not. Sue also has a strange question... about his friend Carlos. How long does Roberto know him? Since they were kids. But when he asks her how she knows Carlos she answers she heard his name in the Genovés villa.

* It's late night. Alejandra interrupts Fausto's pleasant evening with an interesting book and a comfortable armchair. Have they found the letter yet? And who wrote it? Dora. And how on Earth does Dora know about David's parentage? Because she's his mother. Alejandra's jaw drops. But why did she flee, was she afraid of David reaction? Maybe, says Fausto. And maybe because she proved JJ's innocence in the same letter. It's too much for Alejandra, she has to sit down. She complains a about her former lover: he may not be a murderer but he isn't a good man either. Why? Because he treated her badly. She wishes Fausto good night and leaves the old man who seemed to be quite tired of the love life of the youngsters.

* Carlos and Yolanda discuss the strange case of Gaby's photo and suspects that Yolanda, who knows Adolfo's businesses perfectly, doesn't tell him the truth. Who's Marta? There's no Marta, my child. And why did that detective visit her? Oh my God, did he investigate after other crime? Did he ask Yolanda about Carlos?! Yolanda doesn't understand him, why would a policeman investigate after him? Hmm, nevermind. He promises he'll find out what's happening. Yolanda asks about Adolfo. He's surely with Bertha, laughs Moustache. Isn't it funny that a geezer like him tries to hit on a young girl like her? Yolanda looks really worried.

* And one of Viewerville's biggest fear comes true: in a well-orchestrated scene Roberto breaks into the headquarters easily, he discovers the make-up room, the wigs, the photos, the televisions and, que horror, the tunnel. However, on the other end of the passage Fausto notices the noises and asks if he's Abelardo. Who's there? Roberto flees, Fausto follows him and on the other side of the passage he discovers the opened window.

Eva Luna #24 Tue 12/7/10 Erratic subtitles, idiotic choices, and despair.

Eva Luna, December 7, 2010, Episode 24—Erratic subtitles, idiotic choices, and despair.

Note: All video clips hosted on my own site. Virus-free, blah blah blah! And as always, corrections to this recap are welcomed. Thanks!

Also note: I got my HD video capture device, so the clips are in HIGH QUALITY from now on! Woo hoo! You'll see that I went a little overboard with making extra samples (from Eva Luna and other TNs). I'll update this page with more on that later.

As noted in the recap title, the CCs were erratic. Bizarre. My Spanish listening skills are improving but not good enough to recap without CC. Fortunately the English CC worked off and on. My apologies if I skip over bits! I hope that the rest of you can fill in the blanks. Also, I consolidated some scenes. It was easier that way.
----------------

We start with Freaky Ictoria looking venomously at a retreating Sabrina and thinking to herself that she won't let Sabrina take Daniel away from her. "I'm going to erase that stupid smile." (And she means it too. Freak!)

Daniel comes home with a stiff back from sleeping in a chair the night before when he was looking over Eva at the hospital. He encounters Jackie (wearing a lovely but VERY yellow sundress outfit type thing) and she tells him that Ictoria was at the house. Daniel instructs her to not let Ictoria in his bedroom when he is not at home.

Video clip of review of yesterday's episode, credits, and beginning scenes. (Right click to open in new window.)

Jackie then proceeds to tell Daniel about how Ictoria and Laurita kinda got into it at breakfast. "I don't want to be a gossip, but . . . " she says, her eyes averted hesitantly. I think this is part of the Servants' Campaign To Break Up Daniel and Victoria Because Victoria is a Total Witch Who Will Ruin Everyone's Lives. Daniel soaks this all up.

At the big house, Renata is being a shrew and being very sarcastic about Eva's stay in the hospital, dismissing her wound as if it was nothing. Then she says she's got to wash Max, the dog. He's a big dog and he hates baths, but it's Eva's job, Renata says with relish.

Daniel sees a framed photo of Francisco hidden under a cushion on the couch. (This was probably part of the charade to fool Marisol that he owns the house.) Francisco feigns ignorance about the photo, and then Daniel asks Francisco about Laurita and Ictoria. "I don't want to be a gossip, but . . ." Francisco says, and then says that Laurita was kind of sad that morning. "But I told her you were planning a surprise birthday party!" Daniel thinks this is a good idea, because Ictoria can help plan it. (I wonder what the Servants' Campaign To Break Up Daniel and Victoria consists of? This should be interesting.)

Marcela is having her one hand manicured. (Weird.) She's saying weird creepy things which sound like she's planning on doing someone in, but the CCs are out so I really don't know.

Someone's at the front door and Eva answers. It's Daniel. They give each other goofy grins and then he asks how she's doing, she says fine . . . she says she's got to pay him back for the hospital bills, of course he won't hear of that. Then Georgio drives up and sees them and talks to himself about (I don't really know—no CCs here) but he's gonna tell on them, you just know. Eva looks TOTALLY BUSTED and but Daniel says don't worry.

Video clip of this scene.

Georgio visits Marcella as her one hand is manicured and tattles to her all about Daniel and Eva chatting very cozily with each other at the front door. At first it looks like Marcella is thinking that this drama is beneath her, but he makes a big deal of it and Marcella gets all fired up about it and is gonna do something about it.

Eva and Don Julio are in his studio. He is saying that he noticed that the days that she was gone and he refused to take his "medicine," he felt stronger and could go on walks. But when he has the medicine, he's weaker. He thinks the medicine is the culprit. Eva also notes that something funny is going on with it, but she's hesitant about the idea of quitting the medicine. "It'll be MY choice" says Don Julio.

Alicia and Marisol are at the pension, wondering about what to do with Francisco. How to deal with his expectation to see Marisol's fabulous mansion?

Don Julio tells Eva that he'll take a drink of the medicine today, but that's it. No more. Then he and Eva talk about taking a little stroll outside.

More with Marisol and Alicia wondering what to do, what to do with Francisco and all the lies she's told . . . Maybe Marisol should just tell the truth! (You think?)

Ictoria is telling Claw about the Evil Sabrina who is stealing away Daniel. Ictoria says she's going get that "shameless slut" and "give her the lesson of her life." Ooohh. Scary. (You'll see!)

Justa and Don Ricardo are in the kitchen of the pension. Don Ricardo bought Adrian a bicycle as a reward for good grades.

Eva takes Don Julio out for a walk in the sun. She has him smell a flower and tells him to breathe deeply. "I'm feeling like new" he says. He tells Eva she is exceptional and kisses her hand. (These two actors have a lot of chemistry and this is a sweet scene.) Meanwhile, mean Marcella and bitter Georgio are looking out the window and shaking their heads as if this is the most terrible thing ever.

Don Ricardo gives Adrian the bike. He's thrilled of course! He says that Don Ricardo didn't have to give him anything, but Don Ricardo says he wanted to.

Eva is commencing with giving Max a bath in the back yard, with a garden hose. Leonardo comes up and helps her out, getting a little frisky with her (trying to touch her knee) but in the end they wash Max and both get wet as they spray water on each other and it's all very light-hearted.

Meanwhile, Sabrina is preening at her fashion shoot.

Adrian is riding his bike on the street when he sees his dad getting into a car with some other dudes. He follows the car.

Eva comes inside to the kitchen after Max's bath and who is there but Laurita! She says that she's visiting because Eva hasn't visited the house. Laurita invites her to the upcoming surprise birthday party. Laurita then most unwisely says (while the nice plump maid with the braid listens in) that she knows that Eva loves Daniel and Daniel loves Eva, blah blah blah. Eva tries to shut her up, but it isn't working.

Meanwhile, Evil Icky Vicky sneaks into Sabrina's dressing room and is putting the standard Telenovela Liquid (a variation on the standard Telenovela Drops) in Sabrina's makeup remover.

Video clip of these scenes (with English Closed Captions).

Laurita wanted to go out with Eva right then, but Eva has to work.

Marisol is looking at Francisco as he waits for her at some sort of outdoor restaurant. Should she tell him the truth? She dithers back and forth. The truth would be the smart thing.

Eva walks Laurita back to her house and gives her a kiss on the cheek. Laurita sees her bike there and decides to go for a ride. She tries to tell Jackie but Jackie's doing some cleaning with her iPod volume too high and can't hear.

Evil Icky Vicky has completed her mission with the liquid in Sabrina's makeup remover and then says with great malice, "Your face will change completely." Evil, evil, evil. (You'll see.)

More with Marisol looking at Francisco and thinking about what to do.

Laurita is riding in the park or somewhere and is scared by a snake. Her bike goes into the river and she is flailing around in the water. "Help!" she yells (in English).

Ictoria sees Sabrina coming to her dressing room. Fakey fakey well-wishing from Ictoria to Sabrina over her success. Yeah right. Ictoria thinks more malicious thoughts about Sabrina as Sabrina walks away.

"Where is Adrian?" wonders Don Ricardo and chats with Justa. He's going to look around the neighborhood as Justa worries about Adrian.

Alicia wonders how long she can keep up the charade of going to school while not going to school. She wonders what's up with Carlos.

Meanwhile, Carlos is telling a friend that his theft of the school records worked, and that now he hopes Alicia will see his love for her now. He also fills the friend in with all the stuff about the investigation and the extortion, and he says he's sure she's not guilty. It must have been Tony that did that. (Well, at least you're smart about that, Carlos!)

Eva is at the big house and drops a folder full of documents on the floor. As she stoops to pick them up, Mean Marcella walks up and gives her a talking to about chatting with Daniel as well as taking Don Julio out for a walk.

Laurita is flailing around in the river still as Adrian rides by (we all saw this coming a mile off, right?) and rescues her. They make fast friends. A very sweet scene.

Eva is a bit fed up with being chewed out by Nasty Marcella and tells her if she doesn't like Daniel talking to her (Eva), then to tell him that!

Then the phone rings and Marcella tells her to answer. She does and it's Daniel. Oh no! Busted again. She drops the folder with the paperwork and I guess hangs up.

More friendliness with Laurita and Adrian. They shake hands.

Phone rings again. Eva doesn't know what to do. Just ignore it. That doesn't work, Nasty Marcella wants to know why not!

Adrian and Laurita chatting. Adrian tells her that he was looking for 'someone' and that's why he's in this neighborhood.

Finally Marcella answers the phone herself. Daniel says "Eva?" on the other line and it's so over. Marcella says "I'm so sorry, you're talking to Marcella. Are you disappointed?" More uncomfortableness. Creepy. Daniel tries to claim that he wanted to talk to Leonardo. Marcella is of course not buying it.

As Laurita is departing, she tells Adrian that he is her "hero" and gives him a kiss on the cheek. Adrian looks elated.

Daniel talking to himself in the office, wondering what he's going to do. Icky Vicky comes up and tells some B.S. tale about the run-in she had with Laurita, making it sound like she (Icky) is really sorry for what happened, when we all know that she's not.

Alicia is talking to herself in her room and (I think) saying that Carlos is nice but he doesn't do it for her, that Leonardo guy does. Oh, Alicia. Your brain is really full of cotton balls, isn't it?

Daniel's secretary walks in and tells Icky and Daniel that Sabrina is in the hospital because someone put acid in her makeup remover and her face is "destroyed." Icky feigns shock. (Evil, evil, evil! See? I told you.)

Carlos gets busted by the police.

Daniel is shocked over poor Sabrina and Icky Vicky is wondering why. He says she's a colleague! Icky Vicky says they'll send flowers.

The police have questions of Carlos about the wallet found in the room where the records were stolen.

Ictoria is talking to Daniel on the phone now (having gone home, I presume) about poor Sabrina. She says she'll keep updated on her condition. She hangs up the phone and tells an astonished Claudia that she is capable of much more. Claudia says she is "amazing" but I think Claudia is creeped out, as she should be. (I await a dire end for Ictoria. Acid in HER face? Maybe a wild beast will rip off her face? Something like that? I hope so.)

Mean Marcy visits Daniel at his office. She wants to know why he was talking to Eva. Daniel has a frozen expression on his face as the episode ends.

Video clip for avances for tomorrow's episode.

That's it! Thanks everyone, and please, fill in the blanks that I KNOW I missed!

- Elvira

P.S. More notes on the video clips: These are not "real" HD clips. I had to size them down for streaming. You'll also notice a bit of "blockiness" in the clips—that's due to the settings I used. (Any higher and the file sizes would have been too big.) Stay tuned because I intend to have some downloadable "real" HD samples for you soon, in case you don't have HD yet and you're curious how some of your telenovelas look in HD.

UPDATE: I've prepared a page with some HD (and HQ) downloads from three popular telenovelas, including Eva Luna. Check it out!

La Fea Más Bella #117-118 12/7/10 People think clearly, but not for long.

Capitulo 117.
Read Julie’s original recap, then come back here to discuss it.

Pardon me for writing such long summaries today. Consider it rebound from so many days of nothing to write about.

1. Pop tells Lety they’re leaving because he doesn’t want her around immorality, and she refuses! Lety tries to figure it out. Could Pop have found out she and Fern are lovers? No. But what DID he hear? She confronts Fern and asks him what’s going on, but he brushes her off because they’re about to shoot.

2. Pilar announces that Fern has admitted that he’s Pavel, as she wraps herself around him. Lety STRONGLY objects but Fernando silently begs her to cooperate. Lety explains to Pop that they agreed to the Pavel story to get Pilar to ride the horse. Pop points out that Lety is becoming a liar, and he demands that she resign tomorrow when the shoot is finished.

3. Fernando tells Omar Lety almost died when Pilar said she and Pavel/Fern were together, and Fern feels awful about it (so why’s he talking to Omar, not Lety?). Omar supposes that Fern is again bothered by guilt for what he’s doing to Lety, and because he has to make Lety believe he loves her so she doesn’t take his company. Fern is disgusted by Omar, and he has just one brief moment of clarity when he says, “The commercial is the least of it. What’s most important is Lety.” (If only he could keep hold of that idea.)

4. Lety is having a rather lucid moment herself. “Why, Don Fernando? Why do you resort to lies to fix your problems? Then I get pulled into it, and in the end I rescue you. I love you so much. I’m scared that you could lie to me too.” That really worries her, so she has a fantasy to feel safe again. She asks him, “Could you lie to me?” He denies it, but she points out that he lies to Pilar, Marcia, his family, and the whole world. Why should she be any different? He tells her that he doesn’t hide anything from her, no secrets, no lies, no deceptions, because he loves her. She says, “I’ll always trust you.”

5. Back in reality, Fernando asks Lety to forgive him for not telling her his plan with Pilar, and she says it would’ve been easier had he told her. She says Pop told her to resign. Fern answers, “No, you can’t. What would I do without you?”

6. Pilar wants “Pavel” to kiss her for courage, but Saimon diverts her. MamaJ tries to keep Pop busy but he interrupts the shoot instead. They get rid of Pop, shoot the commercial, and head to lunch. Fernando tells Lety, “I love you,” for the first time since the hotel, but he says it amid silly tickling.

7. At lunch, Pilar suggests to Fernando that he formalize their relationship in front of everyone. Sara rescues him by acting like they’re lovers, so Pilar dumps Pavel.

Capitulo 118.
Read Amanda’s original recap, then come back here to discuss it.

1. Pop tells Lety there is never an excuse for lying. Lety says that sometimes people lie for good reasons. She admits that she lied when she said she was hired as the assistant to the president.

2. Fernando asks MamaJ for help so Lety can stay at Conceptos. Erasmo thinks it’s a bad place, but to him it’s solidarity, support, protection, and friendship, and the cuartel agrees. He says Lety is a crucial part of the team. Pop relents and lets Lety stay. Gerardo takes a group photo, then at Saimon’s prompting he takes two photos of Fern and Lety.

3. As they pack up to leave, Fernando asks Lety if she can come to his house tonight because last night didn’t work out. She says no because she’s guilty por Marcia and she doesn’t want to provoke her dad. Fern tries to cover his deep disappointment. After she leaves he ponders, “Lety, mi Lety. Your tenderness, your love, and the way you give yourself (to me) move me/affect me. I’ve never felt what I’m feeling for you. Never.”

4. Alicia leaves work and insults the cuartel even when they’re not there. Teresita calls for Lety. Ali is nosy about her business but MamaT asks her to just pass the message. Ali decides NOT to pass the message.

5. Lety and MamaJ rehash. Lety is proud that she stood up to RoboPop for the first time, and she won. Mama is proud that she did something valuable outside her four walls.

6. Fernando is at home gazing at his photo with Lety when Marcia calls. He says, “How could I forget our wedding date is soon? I’ve been thinking about it all day.” All the while he can’t stop looking at Lety; he even replaces Marcia’s picture with Lety’s. In his thinking chair he ponders, “None of us is happy, neither Marcia nor Lety.. nor me,” as he stares at his empty bed.

7. Lety thinks about her guilt for deceiving Marcia. She reviews their relationship. See transcript. She just wanted to love him in secret, and that wouldn’t hurt anyone. But now he loves her too. How can she resist the love of a man like him? He makes her feel like a queen who deserves to be happy.

8. Morning (finally!!!). The cuartel is excited about Mexico’s World Cup match in two days.

9. Ricardo was impressed with Conceptos’ work yesterday. He says a German company needs a Mexican company to produce ads, and Conceptos could get the contract, but Fernando as president would have to go TODAY. Lety is depressed that Fernando will be gone, but when he says she needs to go along to negotiate the contract, she’s afraid to travel so far from home.

Spanish Lesson. Lety's Diary.
Tan divino, mi Don Fernando. In spite of it all, it turned out well. So why do I feel so bad? Marcia. Today when he embraced me I was so content. Again he said he loved me. I can’t stop thinking about him. I don’t want to remember the guilt I feel. Thinking about Marcia makes me realize I’m wrong, and Don Fernando too.

How did I get to this point? How does the world turn that I would meet Don Fernando? At first I allowed my feelings to grow because I was sure he would never pay attention to me. I wanted to love him forever in secret. I believed it was a love for me alone, nothing more. Like that it wouldn’t hurt anyone. But later it turned out that he also fell in love with me.

How could I resist this love with a man like him? Lety la fea can’t resist the love of Fernando Mendiola. The man most desired, the most seductive, the most beautiful. Love. His love broke me. It conquered me. How can I fight against such a marvelous love? His love makes me feel a little less ugly. Less insignificant. His love makes me feel like a queen who deserves to be happy. How can I reject that? How can I reject my happiness? I don’t know why my happiness comes in droplets. All I do is think about what happens next. In the painful task I have to do for Doña Teresita. I return to feeling guilty for getting in the middle of Fernando and Marcia.

Llena de Amor #81 (Mex. 86) Mon 12/6/10 Look out, here she comes! And she’s one lean, mean protagonista machine

Friday: Garduño is threatening that something bad’s gonna happen at Ilitia’s wedding if Lorenzo doesn’t come visit him in prison. Mauricio thoughtbubbles evilly that he has his own little gift all ready for Ilitia. Brandon is chapped that Eman, after what he did to Mari, is now looking all smiley in the announcement in the paper. We know Marianela’s winging it in from Spain. The stage is set!

******

And here we go, but first this… Turns out Brandon has gotten Consuelo a job as his secretary, and she’s grateful, so grateful in fact that she tries to plant a real-for-real kiss on him. He jumps out of the way, startled by this turn of events.

Emil is visiting Max in his man-cave and Max is letting him know in no uncertain terms that this wedding while the family is in mourning is disgraceful. Emil defends the decision without much conviction, then asks him what to do about Eman who is going to be miserable in this marriage and won’t listen to him. Most people go for wisdom to a sage living up on a high mountain peak, but here they keep their sage in a basement.

Here comes Eman downstairs in his wedding suit (not to be confused with his birthday suit) and one of those few-days’ growth beards all ready to rasp all the skin off his bride’s cheeks during the wedding kiss. Fedra gushes over him, and Nereida brings in a gift that turns out to be a box of chocolates. Marianela! he guesses happily.

Sure enough, Marianela is just leaving the Mexico City air terminal, with so many guys wolf-whistling her and trying to hit on her that it’s like an obstacle course to get to the taxi, which is the only car as far as the eye can see. She tells the taxi driver to take her to the church.

The note on the chocolates is a wish for a wonderful day. Nereida wonders if they were meant for Eman. Fedra rants a bit about Marianela butting in.

Now we find out that Max hasn’t let Eman visit him for two years because back then he asked Eman why Mari was so furious with him and Eman said he had no idea. I don’t receive liars! says Max. Emil defends him, saying that Eman was devastated by her leaving, while she meantime had no problem forgetting him, and she’s now in Paris with her new husband. Max is both impacatado and puzzled.

The family is gathering in the foyer, Kristel in a pink swing coat that reminds us that maybe the 50s weren’t so hot fashion-wise, whereas Fedra is in what looks like a sundress with tiny spaghetti straps and plenty of air and sunlight for her bazoomies which apparently are prone to claustrophobia. Emil’s surprised about the chocolates, as is everyone.

In the taxi, Mari stares at the announcement photo and gloats that it’s the perfect time for her to see Eman and Fedra, because she’s going to destroy them. She rips the newspaper to shreds. Take that! Do not mess with a woman with jet lag.

Outside in the garden we see Flora the maid, Ilitia in her bridal gown and veil, her papa who says he’s awfully sorry but has to quick do some work thing, and her mama who says she just has to run quick over the orphanage to get Manzanita. Uh oh, this will mean that our bride will be All Alone for a little bit. We instinctively duck for the flying words we know are coming, but Ilitia is gracious and says she’ll see them there.

I don’t know how Garduño stays alive in prison with those little wimpy arms. He needs to pump some serious iron if he’s going to be a proper jailbird. Anyway, right now he’s in the pleasant air conditioning of Brandon’s office, saying they’ve been doing this for two years. Brandon knows Mauricio is managing his outside affairs, and he wants Maurcio handed up on a platter. No problem says Garduño. He’s for sale, but in exchange I want you police to stay out of my business. Sorry, smiles Brandon, I hate corruption.

Consuelo comes in and Garduño eyes her and says boy, he sure could use a little Consuelo (comfort, consolation, get it?). Brandon springs out his chair and grabs Garduño by the lapels and barks at him to respect women. Garduño doesn’t resist even though Brandon’s smaller and a lot lighter, because he’s got those pasty stick arms that would look just right on a newt. Two cops take him away and Consuelo’s heart flutters at Brandon’s chivalry.

Ilitia is riding alone in the flower-bedecked limo when she realizes this isn’t the way to the church. She starts hollering at the driver, who we can’t see, but he ignores her. She tries the locked door and even flays him with her bridal bouquet, but no luck. Finally we see him and whew, it’s not Mauricio, but he just tells her not to distract him or somebody could get hurt. She sits back, worried.

Muñeca is picking up Manzanita who wants Christian to come too. He’s in jeans, but Muñeca says sure.

Low and Garduño at the prison. Low is furious that he’s sent for precisely on the day of his daughter’s wedding – he’s sick of Garduño’s threats, and Garduño says he’s sick of being in prison due to him. Low says he did what he had to do to protect his family. Garduño says he could have him offed at any time, but he wants him to live in hell the rest of his life, same as Garduño is doing.

Garduño brings up Christian and Low curses him and his goons for messing up and killing the boy. What if I lied? says Garduño. Your son isn’t dead. When my guys offed that lady you wanted them to, they got arrested for that bootleg liquor caper of yours. They had to leave the child abandoned in the street. I just now told my guys to look for him again. If you find him first, I’ll leave you alone. But if we find him first, he dies.

Two goons pull protesting Ilitia out of the limo. Welcome to paradise! Smiles Mauricio.

Outside the church, there’s a large crowd of guests, none of whom seem interested in talking to their hosts. Eman, Emil and family are waiting. Eman’s eyes scan the crowd -is he looking for his bride? Is he looking for Marianela?

We see Marienela! She’s in the taxi across the street, looking at him as he’s turned away. He feels eyeballs on his back, and turns to look directly her way.

Time for an ad. And another one! Yes, actually I could really go for a Big Mac.

Eman takes a few steps towards the taxi, which zooms off. He’s puzzled. Now everyone starts wondering where Ilitia is.

Maricio takes Ilitia from the thugs and drags her through a huge, luxurious house and into the bedroom where he forces her onto the bed. On your wedding night, I want you to think of my little gift, he says, holding her down and admiring her body. Brrrr what a horrible scene. I’ll spare you the details.

Gladiola and Netty bring Doris up to speed on the latest: Netty is big telenovela star with a fan club and all, Consuelo is working for Brandon. But the bad news is poor Oliver who goes out pub crawling every night with low lifes. They figure he has a death wish.

Netty’s just glad Mari isn’t there to see the day Eman marries Ilitia.

Fedra makes some snide remarks about Muñeca and her orphans. Manzanita runs up and hugs Eman. Kristel reaches out and coo-coos Cristian, who is on Muñeca’s hip, but Fedra pulls her back, telling her not to get all mushy about kids because she can’t have any.

Manzanita runs off and plays a little rough and tumble with Eman, so Muñeca quick hands Cristian to Low while she goes to get her. Look at the medallion, Low! He does, and sees the name on it and melts.

Apparently Netty goes everywhere in a stretch limo. One picks her up at her house and after she’s gone, Gladiola promises Doris she’s going to make her a fabulous welcome-home dinner. Off Gladiola heads down the street, and a voice calls to Doris. Doris turns and can’t believe her eyes. It’s Mari! They hug. Flaca Doris stands back and admires the flacaness of Marianela.

People are starting to get nervous about Ilitia’s not having arrived yet. Low wants to hold Cristian some more and Muñeca thinks he’s nuts, and she thinks they should contact the police. Low tries her cell, but she’s not answering. Fedra upbraids him for not riding in the limo with his daughter like a daddy’s supposed to do.

Ilitia seems to be naked under the sheets, and her face is turned into the bed. She’s sobbing and Maruricio is dressed and ready to go. He kisses her hand and tells her he hopes she enjoyed her present. He slimes out.

Muñeca is afraid Ilitia’s been kidnapped, but Low assures her Garduño said he wouldn’t do anything. Muñeca figures out that that’s where he was just now, talking to Garduño. She’s sure something’s happened to Ilitia because of his shady dealings.

Mari tells Doris she wants her to give her a complete one-hour makeover. She’s headin’ for the weddin’.

Brandon comes home and realizes nobody’s home. Cool! He gets the bathroom all to himself! Consuelo comes home too and sees his stuff on the couch. She calls up to him and offers him a hot meal. He appears on the upper landing shirtless and says no thanks. He heads for the shower. She just can’t believe she’s alone in the house with him, then quickly tells herself not to think those thoughts.

But she does! She thinks about how all squeaky clean he’s going to be when he gets out of the shower and she slips her matronly coat off her shoulders to reveal a somewhat matronly dress. Then she slips out of everything else and sneaks into the bathroom then into the roomy shower with him. He’s astonished.

Apparently Doris is making up Mari at the place where she does the dead bodies. Mari says it’s appropriate because the old Mari is dead.

Brandon seems as scared as a little girl, but Consuelo keeps hugging him and saying how she’s felt … things… since she started working with him. He looks around, panicked, but finally gives in to her kisses.

Bernardo is taking food down to Gretel and grumbling to himself that everybody else got to go to the wedding and he’s stuck here taking care of the crazy lady. Gretel is sitting with her hands tied behind her back. Bernardo tells her in a conversational tone that he’s sick of being her waiter and her nurse, and he starts to untie her. He tells her they’re going to put her back in the nuthouse where she’ll spend the rest of her days which he hopes aren’t many because he can’t stand her.

He leaves her her food and heads out, grumbling, when she cold-cocks him with I guess a wine bottle. He’s on the floor holding his head and she’s out the door!

Gladiola has come home and knocks on the bathroom door thinking it’s Doris inside. Consuelo answers that it’s her and she doesn’t know where Doris is, and no, she hasn’t seen Brandon either. They neck some more. Outside, Gladiola says she’s told him a million times not to leave his gun on the couch.

Doris is done and Mari sits with her back to us, her hair tied up to fit under the wig. Doris assures her that not even Netty would recognize her. She holds up a mirror for Mari to look in, but we don’t get to see, rats! Doris tells her she needs to lose the glasses. Mari says she got some contacts and they’re in her luggage. They’re uncomfortable, but she could put them in.

More shower silliness. Gladiola says she’s going to go make a nice hot meal.

Ilitia is an hour late, but here comes her limo. She gets out, fixed up but looking shocked, with tears standing in her eyes. She tries to smile for the cameras and asks her daddy not to pepper her with questions right now, the limo driver got lost.

Max, who’s not at the wedding either, is wondering if it’s true that Gretel is coming back to Mexico. He has to look her in the eyes, and see if she truly is his daughter. Just then the door opens and in comes Gretel, wild-eyed and hair standing on end, begging him not to let them lock her up again.

The commissioner is telling Oliver off big time. Out drunk all night again? This is the last time, next time he’s fired. Doris, who had come to see Oliver, hears through the partially-opened door. The commissioner, in one of the more surprising exit lines I’ve heard in a novela, announces he’s going to the bathroom. Doris comes in and tells Oliver he deserved it. Oliver moans about what he feels inside. Doris invites him to her welcome-home party and tenderly tells him she wants him to be like before.

Low is bringing his daughter down the aisle and brava to Altair for a lovely bit of acting as she shows Ilitia shell-shocked and fighting back tears but also trying to smile like the happy bride. When she arrives at the altar, Eman realizes something is wrong. She says she’s beautiful and he’s handsome, so let’s get married.

Max wants to know when Gretel got back from Switzerland. She tells him how Fedra has had her locked up in the wine cellar all this time.

The priest has gotten to the speak now or forever hold your peace part when for some reason both Eman and Ilitia sense that somebody is walking up the aisle. They turn away from the priest to see who it might be. They can’t tell. And there, in her Scarlett O’Hara-red, tight-fitting cocktail dress is Mari with a happenin’ ‘do and a s***load of attitude, strutting up the aisle with blood in her eye.

Avances: About 5 seconds more of Mari’s entrance. She grabs a pew.

La Verdad Oculta #059: A rose by any other name is sweet, but not legal

Abelardo astounds "Mario" with the news that Dora has fled the house! They both bemoan the loss of her potential testimony and the whereabouts of her letter. At Roberto's, he explains to Adolfo who Susana is and his plan to infiltrate Mario's affairs through her to kill him again.

Roberto relates distractedly Mario's odd behavior; how Mario once bodily tossed Roberto out -- but yesterday seemed not to recognize him. Adolfo listens intently to obviously confounded Roberto, who anguishes again he saw Mario's burning body; and Adolfo agrees something odd is going on.

At the AFI, Leonardo confides to Ramón he believes all the shadows in Mario's office served to hide his reactions rather than alleviate a migraine. Though Mario denied knowing Márta, her name made him nervous; at least Adolfo didn't deny he knew her, although he was also nervous, he adds.

Leonardo tries to reach Gabriela to ask about Santiago, but only reaches Bertha -- who is tickled to plan to meet him for lunch the next day to discuss what's going on with her uncle. Outside Mario's office, Abelardo and Santiago fret that Dora has no relatives and no friends to flee to.

Encountering Gabriela, Julieta and David entering, Santiago cheerily lies to them that Santiago called from Zacatecas and all is well. David follows a pensive Gabriela upstairs, who confides she doesn't buy the excuses given her why Leonardo visited Mario; David puts her off, but she is not mollified.

David finds Santiago to confide Gabriela's suspicions and ask that he phone Leonardo and they all get their story straight about the ostensible convention in case she asks. Meanwhile, Roberto takes Susana for her day off, and she nearly spills everything she knows to him about the tunnel house, how they entered, the wigs, and Mario's odd behavior.

Importantly, she reveals that the tunnel likely emerges into Mario's bed chamber. Up in her bedroom suite, a distraught Gabriela confides to Julieta she feels wretched thinking her inquiries to Leonardo about Márta brought the police down on Mario. And now she can't tell David, in case Márta is his mother.

Julieta reassures her sister she's blameless that Adolfo revealed David is adopted and suggests Gabriela just talk to Mario. Down in his office, "Mario" phones Leonardo, and he counsels "Mario" against worrying over Adolfo's blackmail.

Hanging up, when Santiago frets Leonardo will visit again tomorrow, David advises to let him handle it. At Roberto's, to complete blurting everything she knows, lonely Susana lets Roberto cozy her into explaining about Marcos in jail, the stolen diamonds and his arrest, the shoes, L.A., etc.

But since Adolfo earlier refused to put Roberto on his need-to-know list, Roberto just thinks the stories are nuts and can't connect them so far. Across the way at Juan José's, everybody's in a funk: Caramelo for missing Elsa and Juan José for his break-up with Alejandra.

After Caramelo retires, Juan José tearfully mourns the differences that killed their relationship: he's an ignorant, old-fashioned country boy; and she's a modern, classy, educated woman. Choking up, Juan José laments that no matter how rich they are, they'll always be the same.

When Juan José admits they fought over his accusations about her past lovers, Asunción takes the chance to put in a plug for his favorite, Elsa, who is more suited to them. Juan José reluctantly agrees, wiping the tears away, that she is more like them; but he is unenthused about it.

That night at the mansion, Gabriela presses David again with her suspicions that something's happened -- and he's not telling her why Adolfo's being investigated. He claims not to know and tries to reassure her that in a month the contract with him with be over.

At a club, Alejandra with Mina tries to drown her indignation and fury in alcohol over Juan José calling her a slut, despite Mina's observation he didn't actually call her that. Never mind -- the sentiment's the same! Imagine that idiot insulting her over her love life! She's so sorry she ever met him!

Feeling supremely stupid, she admits she sincerely fell for him; now she has no idea how she could have fallen for a guy with such notions about women! The unfortunate thing is they got along so beautifully; that's what hurts so much. So sweet, caring, tender -- and wild! But he's a moron! And men NEVER change, she insists.

At the AFI, Ramón failed to squeeze any more out of the jeweler, and Leonardo instructs him to pull Santiago's marriage license with Márta -- also to look up the daughters' birth certificates and check the family name to see if it's changed. Ramón notes if the name has changed, Gabriela's marriage won't be legal.

David learns from a nervous Abelardo that Dora has, er, taken time off to visit a sick relative, as David bids Julieta and Gabriela goodbye heading off to classes -- and he to the cemetery. Across town at the condo, Carlos unnerves Yolanda grilling her on Leonardo's investigations into "someone," making her jump the gun and suggest "Márta" out of the blue.

So now Carlos is suspicious but can't pester any more out of her, even threatening to ask Adolfo instead. She's about to abscond when Leonardo appears to question her, and Carlos exits himself. Yolanda denies knowing where Santiago went or that Adolfo knows he's Fausto Guillen; she admits she never wanted Adolfo to denounce Santiago, because she's sure Santiago couldn't kill someone.

Yolanda pointedly denies she's in the habit of protecting criminals; and when asked if Márta was a good woman, she pauses before lying that she was. It was an unpremeditated murder, not motivated by robbery, Leonardo observes.

When Leonardo then asks if not Santiago -- who could have killed Márta, Yolanda jumps to her feet denying she knows anything. Yolanda turns with a penetrating look as Leonardo gives her a little friendly advice: talk while you still can.

In her bedroom suite, Gabriela charges Susana with emptying David's suitcase from the hotel; and of course, Susana finds the one remaining L.A. photo, with which she quickly escapes to her room -- to compare her black, platform shoes to the shoes in the picture.

Upon confirming they're identical, Susana pulls the diamonds out of the shoes to hide them in a scarf in her bra, puts the photo and shoes in a shopping bag and phones Roberto to come pick them up. Meanwhile, poor David visits his father's grave with Abelardo at the cemetery.

David speaks from the heart to the man who truly was his father in every meaningful way and vows to make all Mario's plans come to fruition. He calls his father the best man in the world and declares his love, as Mario loved him. Then after bidding Mario rest in peace, David oddly remarks "…see you soon…"

Roberto roars his car up to the corner, where Susana hands him the bag of seemingly extraneous stuff and runs off. Now Roberto has all the information and the evidence, except for the actual diamonds. Inside Mario's office again, David declares to Santiago and Abelardo he intends to have hotel security guard the house now. Adolfo's a criminal and murderer of his father.

There's the contract clause still remaining, and he recognizes the description of Mario's cuff link matches Carlos's ring. Santiago piles on the rap sheet the jewel theft inside Gabriela's shoes, which David hadn't connected yet -- but which now makes sense of Leonardo asking for the photos and Bertha stealing them for Adolfo.

David heads straight upstairs to secure the one remaining photo in his suitcase; but when it has disappeared, rakes Susana over the coals to no avail. Failing that, David accuses the objecting Bertha, threatening her with ejection for the theft -- and turning over her room in search.

Bertha launches herself down into "Mario's" office for backup, making the mistake of insulting Gabriela in the process, losing points with Santiago. She's yelling at the top of her register in indignation, Santiago coming over the desk wagging his finger, when David adds his fury to the mix. Opening his wallet and pulling out cash, David shouts Bertha better come up with the photo -- or stack her duds and scram!

Eva Luna #23 Mon 12/6/10 Daniel Confesses His Love to Eva: Vicky Takes on Another Rival

[Apologies! My DVD didn't record properly so this is from memory. If I've left anything out let me know and I will add it in.]
Eva is taken to the hospital by Daniel. He pretends to be her husband in order to spend time watching over her since he feels guilty about causing her fall. He finds out she has a serious hit to the head and will be there overnight. She wakes up hearing the nurse refer to him as her husband. He tells her it’s no use telling them that or they’ll only think she’s got amnesia. She tells him she wants him to leave her alone. He tricks her into thinking he’s left and when she wonders where he’s gone he peeks back in and teases that he’ll be back in a bit.

The lunch from hell procedes as Jackie brings in the snails she’s spiced with a full jar of hot sauce. Francisco and Marisol’s mouths are on fire afterward. Then comes the lobster which I think had to be raw or else broiled to a crisp because neither of the two fake milionarios could stand to take a second bite.

Dano returns to the hospital room with gifts and pretends to be a delivery boy. He’s charming as all get out and Eva tries to hide her delight. He leaves her a basket of fresh fruit and an elegant matching nightgown and robe since she’s got to spend the night there. Marisol’s antennae go up as she hears Jacky tell Victoria on the phone that no, “Sr. Villanueva” isn’t there. Franc makes up some lie about who Sr. Villanueva is.

Daniel returns to the hospital room afterwards and Eva’s eaten some of the strawberries. He teases her again telling her that the delivery boy was head over heels about her and realized that he’d fallen in love with her. Eva grouses at him about getting married so why keep up the ruse. He says it’s true. She says if he’s still getting married so she can’t believe him. He asks what if he’d realized he was never in love with the other woman? They still are from two different worlds as far as she’s concerned and that’s that, no matter how much she’d like to believe him. Either way, she says, she doesn’t want to hear it because she doesn’t want to suffer because of him.
Franc calls a taxi for Marisol. Laurita and Jackie ask her why she doesn't drive a car of her own. Marisol's stumped and says because she has a thing for taxis. Marisol accidently breaks an expensive vase by the door on her way out to the taxi. Franc demands a lunch invitation to her mansion for the next day. Marisol tries to make some excuse but agrees in the end though she obviously doesn't know how she's going to manage to pull that one out of the hat. Dan makes a call home and checks in right after.

Ictoria tells Claudia that she still thinks she’s got a rival. Claw advises her she’d better have some proof before going off on Dan.

Dan spends the night watching over Eva. He tells her while she’s sleeping that he really wishes she would/could believe he really is in love with her.

Tony collects payments for Leonardo and delivers them to the casino office. Leo warns Tony about getting unnecessarily jealous over Alicia with him or he’ll be out of a job.

Carlos thinks he’s pulled off a major coup and that Alicia will love him for it.

The next morning Dan wakes up from the couch he slept on in the hospital room. Eva’s gone. The nurse is cleaning the room and tells him that “his wife” already left and told them not to wake him. He goes home to clean up. Ictoria burst in on him yelling about him being gone all night and immediately accuses him of being with another woman. Dan yells back that yes he was, but no he didn’t sleep with her. There was an accident and he hit her with his car (I think?). He doesn’t go into much detail because Icky is still screaming nasty insults at him. He says and yeah, she was the most beautiful woman he’s ever met! He goes in to shower and shave.

Icky goes into the kitchen and picks a fight with Laurita over eating cereal. Laurita gives as good as she gets. Icky tells her that after she’s married there will only be fruit for breakfast. Laurita says no way because she’s not going to end up a stick like Victoria and cereal is just fine. Laurita tells her she doesn’t like her and the feeling’s mutual. Back off! She gets off her stool and storms out to go to school. Vicky tells herself that she could care less because the only one she cares about is Dan anyway.

Alicia wakes up and sees that Eva didn’t come home last night. Eva walks in with her stuff from the hospital and explains the bandage on her head. She tells Alicia that Dan took her to the hospital and stayed with her. She wonders why Ali isn’t at school yet. Ali makes like she’s got to hurry. A bit later Eva remembers Dano telling her he’s not in love with the other woman and smiles to herself.

As Dan shaves he thinks about the time he spent with her in the hospital room also.

Ictoria goes to Dan’s office and snipes at Dan and Leo’s secretaries about gossiping over the fight at her engagement party. They weren’t though and try to tell her that. She interrupts them and tells them to get back to work. Leo’s secretary leaves. Icky gives the 3rd degree to Dan’s secretary over any other women he’s been involved with. Icky warns her not to lie to her or she’ll make sure she gets fired. The secretary tells her she’d still keep Dan’s confidence even if it cost her her job. She then tells Icky that there was only a new model named Sabrina who was there to see him about a shampoo commercial. When the secretary leaves, Vicky snoops and finds the envelope with Sabrina’s picture in it. She reads the note on the back that talks about it being especially for him. It doesn’t have anybody’s name on it though. This is the proof Icky wanted.

Icky is in the bathroom and hides in a stall. She hears Sabrina come in discussing with a friend the wonderful night she spent with her new guy who already has a girlfriend. Sabrina doesn’t care, she tells her friend, because if the girlfriend really was anything special he wouldn’t be spending time with Sab. Vicki assumes Sab was talking about Dan and begins to strategize her vendetta against Sabrina.

Vicky tells Claw what she found out. She admits the photo didn’t have Dan’s name on the inscription, but that doesn’t seem to matter to her. She’s going after Sab.

Back in apple-picking country, the young foreman tells Eva’s aunt that somebody named Deborah sent a private investigator asking questions about Eva, Ali and their daddy. He told them they’d moved to the big city but he didn’t know anything more and hadn’t heard from them since. Eva’s aunt is glad he was discreet. Afterwards she’s worried about why Deb would want back into the girls’ lives.

At Arismendi Inc., Marcy gets a phone call from Deb in Paris. We find out she has some jewelry design business. Anyway, she called because she found out about the wedding between Dan and Icky. Marcy asks if she's attending. Of course, Deb says. She wouldn’t miss the wedding for anything!

La Fea Más Bella #115-116 12/6/10 A case of mistaken amante identities.

Capitulo 115.
Read Amanda’s original recap, then come back here to discuss it.

1. Luigi counsels Fernando to make Pilar believe they’ll do the commercial without her. Her ego will take over from there. The client says they need to use underwear that’s not red, based on what Gerardo said.

2. Pop returns with the salsa, but his buddies tempt him away to the bar before he takes it to Julieta. When he mentions the salsa, his buddies think he’s going to dance salsa, but Erasmo says he only sings.

3. At the pond, Fernando tells Lety maybe he’s not the right one to lead Conceptos. She encourages him, and he says, “Lety, what am I going to do with you?” But he finishes the sentence silently, “.. when I have to marry Marcia.”

4. They see Erasmo in the bar, and Fernando thinks it’s a good thing that Erasmo is making friends with his uncles (hmm.. as in, “I’d like you to meet my family”?). MamaJ recovers the salsa, and she does not scold him in front of his friends. Obviously she did not attend Marcia’s school of relationship management.

5. They shoot a commercial with the mannequins, and when Pilar thinks they’re not going to use her, she begs to be in the commercial and promises to do whatever they want.

6. Gerardo says Lety makes a great team with Don Fernando. He gives her a hug to congratulate her, and Erasmo sees it and imagines the worst.

Capitulo 116.
Read Amanda’s original recap, then come back here to discuss it.

1. Erasmo is angry that Gerardo hugged Lety, and she suggests that Pop stop drinking.

2. See the transcript. On the bridge, Erasmo asks Fernando to help protect his daughter from immoral men who want to take advantage of her. He also mentions that Tomás is on the property.

3. Lety asks Mama to get Pop to ease up about Gerardo, but Mama reminds her how stubborn he is when he’s drunk. Fernando doesn’t want lunch; he has a nervous stomach from all the stress of the day.

4. Fernando is seething with jealousy.
He asks Lety, “Why’d you have to bring him?” Lety thinks he means Gerardo.
L: You’re the one who scheduled him.
F: Me? I’m not interested in him, but it sure seems like you are. I don’t even know him! Why should I schedule Tomás?
L: Tomás? I thought you meant Gerardo!
With that out of the way, Fernando goes back to worrying Pilar and the bronco.

5. The stable boy says Pilar can practice on the mechanical bull. She likes it until Alicia turns the dials to max and Pilar falls off, so she again refuses to ride. Fernando catches Ali and throws her out. Lety spots Tomás and tells him to leave too.

6. Fernando admits to Pilar that he really is Pavel, he charms her, and he asks her to ride the horse for him. Pop hears it all, and he tells MamaJ, “We’re leaving NOW!” He tells Lety, “You can’t work for him anymore. I just discovered your boss has an amante.”

Spanish Lesson

On the bridge.
E: I’m worried about Lety. I believe she’s heading in the wrong direction / doing things she shouldn’t
(Fernando is afraid that Pop suspects that Fernando is defiling his daughter.)
F: Where would you get that idea? Lety couldn’t do such a thing. She’s too sensible, she’s your daughter, and she’s like you .
E: Yes, she’s just like me. But there are immoral men (as he’s poking Fern) who can take her away from me.
F: You really think so??
E: I saw her in a very suspicious situation with some jerk who is the cameraman.
F: Lety with Gerardo??
E: Do you remember Tomás Mora?
F: Ay, sí. How could I forget? She’s known him since childhood.
E: He could’ve helped me cuidar (take care of, protect) the child (Lety), but he’s wandering around the club.
F: Tomás Mora is here? Se chocame a cien verdad? (100 are crashing into me?)
E: Look. You’re her boss. I know you value/appreciate her very much, and she feels the same about you. Help me cuidar her because the girl is very innocent. You don’t need to know this, and I don’t have reason to tell you, but listen.

E: Years ago, that Miguel. I didn’t want to let him step foot in the house! One day, Miguel stopped coming to the house. Lety was devastated. I felt so impotent. I didn’t know how to help her.
F: I understand completely. I’ve felt the same impotency. (He remembers when Lety told him about Miguel.) You’re right, one should cuidar mucho a Lety.
E: It’s just that I/you (?) care about her so much.
F: How could one not adore someone as enchanting as Lety? Don Era, you’re my brother.
E: Can I count on you to cuidarla?
F: Of course. You just tell me where Tomas is, and I’ll kick him out immediately!
E: No, it’s not about cuidarla from Tomás. It’s about that cameraman.
F: Oh. Come here, Don Era. Can I call you Don Era?
E: Sure, Don Fera!

Eva Luna #22 Fri 12/3/10

Eva tells Daniel to forget about her for the millionth time. Daniel says he has tried so many times. He's told himself to forget her, to just marry Victoria... That's right interrupts Eva. Stay with Victoria and I'll stay with myself. But I can't replies Daniel. When I saw you yesterday and heard your voice again, I realized that all I have with Victoria is just a commitment. That's all that it is. Be a decent person and complete your commitment replies Eva and starts to run off. Daniel grabs her and says that having her close to him drives him crazy. Eva pleads for him to let her go. Let's leave things the way they are. You marry Victoria and just stop driving me crazy. You and I are just impossible. Don't you realize?

Marcela is upset about the gossip that will be going around town about the little "incident" that happened at the party. She goes to see Victoria and asks her what the heck is going on with Daniel.
V: I don't know.
M: His behavior was completely unacceptable.
V: And what would you like me to do? Why don't we leave this discussion for tomorrow? I'm really not in the mood for your sermons.
M: Listen to me! Listen to well, Victoria. You know how much I like him, but I will not allow his conduct making me out to look like a fool in front of all society.
V: Of course! I thought you would have been concerned about how I felt and not what society thought.
M: Be quiet you ungrateful girl! Thanks to me, who worries about what society thinks, is why you are where you are today. I remind you that I am a public figure therefore so are you. So it's best that you control your little boyfriend. All I see him is in a bad mood and causing scandels in my house.
's
Francisco follows Daniel into his room and wonders how the party went. Not well replies Daniel.

Jackie is outside with Eva waiting for the taxi. How did it go with the Senior asks Jackie? Not well replies Eva.

Daniel is talking to Francisco and tells him that Eva can't matter to him anymore. I can't go backwards. It doesn't matter what she says. I have to marry Victoria. Otherwise I am nothing but a coward.

Outside Eva is calling Daniel every name in the book. Cynical, idiot, liar... Jackie interrupts her and tells her to calm down. You don't do those things replies Eva. He made me fall in love. Completely. And now he's marrying another.

Francisco tells Daniel that you can't do those things. But everything you told her is the truth, right? Yes, everything responds Daniel. I have not known a woman that has gotten to you this way. In your head. In your heart. I don't understand. If you feel this way about her, then why are you marrying Victoria? Because it's the right thing to do says Daniel.

Of course he's going to marry her says Eva. Don't you think that he would marry her? Why don't you ask him?

Daniel tells Francisco that what he feels for Eva is crazy and it could cause alot of hurt to alot of people. What about you asks Francisco. Look replies Daniel. Eva has asked me to leave her alone and that is what I am going to do.

Alicia's tutor (forgot his name) is going to the college to delete her records.

Tony and Alicia fighting.

Alicia's tutor almost gets caught.

Tony and Alicia continue fighting.

Alicia's tutor finds her file and leaves his wallet on the desk.

Eva tells Alicia that Daniel and Victoria are marrying.

Daniel asks Jackie if Laurita said anything about his upcoming nupitals with Victoria. Jackie says that Laurita is afraid that they will send her to boarding school. Daniel says I will never do that. Well you don't need to assure me of that, but her instead. Daniel promises to speak to Laurita.

Eva tells Alicia about how she felt finding out about the engagement and pushing Daniel. Alicia advises Eva to tell Victoria everything that has gone on between her and Daniel.

Francisco is outside telling himself today is his day.

Marisol is getting ready to meet Francisco at his "mansion" today.

Francisco comes into the breakfast room ready to get Laurita to school and finds out there is no school today.

Victoria finds Eva and asks her if she's going to congradulate her on her getting engaged to Daniel. Aren't you happy? Well what can I say, it's great replies Eva. Is that all your going to say, asks Victoria? Tell me, what do you think about my wedding with Daniel? Well if you really want to know says Eva, I'll tell you. Tell me what? That your bothered I will be happy with him asks Victoria. Of course not replies Eva. I get it says Victoria. You can't get your man and your jealous that I can get mine. Renate interrupts with orders for Eva.

Francisco is all jittery trying to figure out how he is going to pull off having Marisol over with Jackie and Laurita there.

Daniel visits his daughter for a talk. Did you cancel your commitment with Victoria asks Laurita hopefully. No, replies Daniel. He tells Laurita that just because he is marrying Victoria does not change all the love that he has for her and he will not send her to boarding school. Even though she'll ask you a million times asks Laurita? No, replies Daniel. You and I will always be together. I promise you. Okay I believe you says Laurita. But no matter what you say, I know Victoria does not like me. Daniel tries to reassure her that Victoria does.

Eva brings Don Julio his breakfast. He notices her pale complexion and her swollen eyes. Everything okay he asks. Eva says it's fine. I'm just an idiot then sneezes. Your coming down with something says Don Julio. So home and get some rest.

New model Sabine visits Daniel. FF-->

Francisco tries to get Laurita out of the house, but she is hearing none of that. Then he goes to Jackie and finally spills the beans. Jackie calls him crazy. He begs her to reconsider.

Marcela visits Daniel in his office. He asks her how she's doing. She tells him embaressed, upset, blah, blah, blah. In walks Bruno.

Jackie convinces Laurita for her help in Francisco's crazy scheme. They plan on helping him but really sabatoging everything to teach him a lesson.

Bruno the butt kisser says he came to apologize to Daniel for last night. Well Marcela figures that since their both there to give them both a tongue lashing. Daniel tells Marcela that in the future to advise her "protector" to watch his tongue. He leaves for an appointment.

Francisco lays out the plan to the girls.

Taxi drops off Marisol at the mansion. She is impressed.

Victoria tells Don Julio that she and Daniel are engaged. He tells her that it's a mistake. She cannot marry Daniel.

Jackie opens the door to let Marisol in and you can see the jealousy. Francisco walks up and greets her. Jackie is none to happy. Francisco takes Marisol outside. Oh wow. Your house is gorgous says Marisol. Francisco says well alot of crap. Laurita comes out and introduces herself to Marisol. She says to Francisco "This is not the lady from the other day, Tio Paco". Francisco tells her she's confused and sends her on her way.

Victoria gets angry with her dad and asks him what does he mean she can't marry Daniel.
J: Because that marriage will be fake.
V: What do you mean fake?
J: You know that this is all your mother's doing. Ever since DAniel was widowed your mother has pushed you towards him.
V: Your wrong. I love him.
J: No. You don't need to fool me. Perhaps you think you are in love. But you know there have been moments where you have wanted to end the relationship. And have stayed with him because of the pressure of your mother to avoid scandel.
V: But dad, I really love Daniel.
J: No, you are obsessed with him. Analyze you heart. Are you sure he really loves you enough to make you his wife?
V: I'm glad I didn't tell you this before now. And that you didn't go to the party.
J: I am your father. I love you and will always speak the truth to you. Please calm down and think about what I said.

Marisol and Francisco outside talking FF--> Francisco goes into the kitchen to find out what's taking so long in the kitchen. Jackie assures him it's almost ready. Then proceeds to give the soup a little extra help with lots of hot sauce. She gets a call from Daniel that he will be home soon.

Eva leaves to give Jackie money back that she borrowed for the taxi yesterday.

Jackie gives the news to Francisco that Daniel will be home in 5 minutes.

Daniel is driving down the road and Eva is walking down the sidewalk, falls and hits her head.

Monday: Daniel takes Eva to the hospital; Daniel is at her bedside; Victoria is angry that Daniel was out all night and if it was another woman and he says yes.

Llena de Amor #80 (Mex. 85) Fri 12/3/10 All my favorite actors!

Hi Gang! Well, I'm back to take a stab at this show. Last night was my very first viewing ever. I like it!! I just kept seeing favorite actor after favorite actor!!! Now you may have to forgive me here for a bit until I get used to these folks new names, but I know you all will help me out if I get it mixed up. I'm going to do this in stages over the weekend so feel free to check back for more later...

Always a good welcome back to TN land with two women bawling their eyes out and yelling at each other. Well we started off with gal i think is named Marinela whining like a baby to the maid because she talked to the wicked Fedra whom marinela thinks just killed her Tia Carlota...

Fedra the aforenamed evil woman is now chatting with recognizable Bernardo about the daughter that she hates - and how Emiliano wants to go off to look for her. Apparently this is Gretel, whom Carlos informed me is locked in a wine cellar somewhere. They dream about getting her inheritance and worry about her coming back to Mexico..she is in Europe? Oh our hunky Tontas foe is her son. Nice to see him again.

Now all the actresses that I thought were blondes are now red heads and these two young ladies chat about being top model for a commercial and not getting to see a boyfriend enough because of his work. One is really sad, so the other cheers her up. They are the mod squad. I know this because they speak English.

Ok, so the one they call Ilitia wants to buy off the secretary Adelina to take care of her "baby" for her, oh she'll pay whatever it takes.

Ah mi Cesar!! Here he is Daddy, and makes fun of his son coming back in the morning with his ho. The little maidlet, Delicia is not appreciative of the son's flattering of his girlfriend and drops her service tray. She seems a bit smitten...the girlfriend can tell she is in love with Axel.

Now Papa gets the call that Tia Carlota has passed on. He declares this is a horrible morning, even before he learns that!

Ok, now back to our hunky son who over heard the duo talking about money, what money he wants to know. He clearly is at odds with Bernardo, who believes that Fedra should not confide in her son, who is not the enemy here. Now mi Cesar Evora comes in to tell these folks about the death. Fedra exaggerates mourning, which clearly means that she already knew or didn't care.

So now, infact, we go to the cemetary, because dead bodies never hang around above ground for more than 40 minutes in the novelas and voila, she's all nice and buried, probably still warm even. I like how the grass is already green. Well, nevermind, Marinela will see to it that her death is properly avenged. Them's fightin' words if ever I heard 'em. I guess there is a plot...

So Fedra and co wonder how this could have happened. They discuss, and when son finds out Tia died yesterday, you can see the light bulb go off, as he figures out that someone, Marianela? must have been in Madrid and not Switzerland to have known about the wake?

Carlota's brother and and another of our favorite pudgy bald guys discuss the death, and how important it is to protect Marianela's inheritance even more now. He hopes that Carlota did not die with the secret, he needs to know if Gretel is his daughter.

So now the mod squad shows up at the house, Ilitia is supposed to marry "baby" but he says Carlota died, so they can't get married...she says no way, wedding must go on. Emiliano tells our other valley girl, who has just reprimanded her buddy for being so selfish, that she can't do her commercial either. Tables turn and now she is upset, she gets no party for boda, but a commercial? I'm torn...I say make them all suffer. Anyway, now on to some fun..

We go to the kitchen where our maidlet is clearly torn as well about learning Axel's last night details, yet not wanting to hear anything too upsetting. He suggests that Lorena has quite a body and in bed, whoa.....in true Emila and Mike style, he gets a wack over the head with a frying pan, and falls to the floor.

Ack, more discussion wedding and commercial yes? no...Carlota would like yes or no...

It was a ruse...Axel wakes up, grabs maidlet whom he "trapped" and I guess he picks up on her morbid fascination and decides she is ripe for some young boy flirtation...he wonders if she wants more with him...

Paula and Max are discussing the death, Paula holds no ill will towards his sis, it's his fault they never married. Besides, maybe now Gretel will return to Mexico. Whee!! Max yells at poor Benigno for who knows what and he leaves...

Ah we are back on the floor in the kitchen...Axel still trying to eat the Delicacy that is our maidlet...she is softening and hardening: no I don't like you, but I might like being next to you, but no take your hands off, and so forth until eventually Axel ends up all wet with a pot of stove water...take that young buck. Hmmrf...what's with the help these days... :)

OK, so clearly Fedra wants mod chica Ilitia to marry her son for some reason because she uses her power of a weak heart to feign extreme distress at any mention of boda suspending, so finally Emiliano says go ahead with the wedding so she doesn't get too upset and risk heart failure, but eh, no commercial, that can wait...Emanuel is not excited about this and really wants to wait...I wouldn't blame him, let that chic's hair grow out properly first...why are they so fascinated with these odd mutlilevel hair choppering styles? Over rated I think... Well it seems he feels he must protect his cousin Marianela, and for that matter he should go over there to Madrid and bring her back to her family where she belongs. Nobody else seems that concerned about her...is there cousin lovin' in this TN? Sheesh...

We are back with Marianela who is chatting with someone who tells her that Tia Carlota transferred all her money into another account just hours before she died, and she named an executor who is Juana Felipe Perez...ok this sounds like the female version of Juan Felipe, whom we know apparently has money for Marianela that Fedra and Co. want. Obviously something is a foot here. Marianela apparently knows who this is, and knows her to be the devil, not a woman. She wants to go back to her country tomorrow. We rejoin her learning there is no money for such a trip because all the money went to that Perez woman. Almudena shows up and gives her a folder and says no you are taken care of. She reads that there is money that exists in a trust in Switzerland, and she realizes this is the money that was saved for her in case anything happened to Carlota. Mari thanks her Tia in the air and swears she will pay her back somehow.

So now we go to a room of completely different folks, but wait it's our adorable what's his face, and he is apparently coming home drunk from a bar, and all the ladies in the house complete their duty of scolding him for his non-exemplar behavior, apparently he is a police officer afterall.

OK, so now just to shake it up some muddied up meth-head pops in with a gun and says this is an assault. How wonderfully bizarre...

Back to the whining about boda no boda, maybe Emanuel doesn't love you...ha no way... I'm marrying the day and hour of my invite or my name is no longer Ilitia Porta Lopez...great someone told me her full name!!

Back to the assault, loca woman screams for everyone to hand over their stuff, including our follied drunk dude. Whines all around.

Ok so Ma and Emanuel have a "heart to heart" he needs to marry the boba, no he thinks he needs to go to Europe to get his cousin and the money that belongs to him, he needs to go manipulate the fat one there, they don't have her money yet. Ma says don't worry about the money it's taken care of...uh oh, another light bulb...so that's the money you were talking about with Bernardo he says...she promises that everything will fall to their hand soon enough..don't ruin your wedding...he says still he should call Marianela and keep tabs on her fat fortune. She answers but once she realizes it's him, hangs up and won't reanswer, telling the maid not to answer, well ok answer, but say this...

Back at the crack head attack, finally mister drunk supposed police officer overtakes our junky and gets her down on the sofa...the gun is plastic...oh and so is the nose and the teeth...eh voila it's our Paula from Gancho!! Well, she calls herself Doris...

Almudena finally answers and they talk of the sadness of the death, she tells him that Mari went to live with her new hubby in Paris...Emanuel seems genuinely upset. Ma hangs up the phone for him telling him he was about to waste his time on the happily married fat chic...

Oh jeez back to the boda no boda again...enough I'll tell you when we make progress here...ok we finally did, Eman comes out saying with the loveliest of smiles on his face (not) that the boda will go forward..he'll marry the popis boba (plush fool).

So now we learn what's behind the attack, Hollywood, so the lady in the blue dress is Doris's Ma and she's just returned from LA where she's learned how to do all that. Yeah, I can believe LA might teach you how to become an assailant. :) They say she's learned well and is a top notch actress.

Well now we go to the real police station where Ilitia's mom is looking at a line up and is not sure if any of them are the one they are looking for because she never really saw the guy...the Liria de Plata must be caught...this must be some sort of Robin Hood, who steals but does good with the spoils - this plot I'm not sure I get yet....

2 Dias despues and it's wedding day...la boba looks ok, she is thanking her mami and papi, who appear to be divorced but still friends for everything they've done for her...ma asks if she's sure she wants to spend the rest of her life with hunkalicious...not the greatest of timing eh?

Appears the cop who wants to bust the Robin Hood, lusts after our shiny bride. The girl walks in and asks him if he is still pining for her...

Ok so now more new/old people...we are in jail and our orange skin buddy is there with some guy Garduno who is threatening Ilitia's pa with ruining her wedding if he doesn't come down to the clink and meet with him...the plots abound in this one...Fonseca gets congratulated for doing such a great criminal job. He likes Ilitia, but thinks it's ok if she marries as he has a wedding gift for her. Garduno is happy to be able to blackmail Lorenzo. Time up..must go back.

And so we end here until Mon. Thanks for bearing with me...
