Corazón Indomable #26, 6/17/2013: The Evolution of Maricruz; Tobi Sniffs Out the Truth

The Evolution of Woman

The Old:
Maria calls Maricruz to let her know she dropped off The Box of letters and documents, and is on her way back to the countryside. Downstairs, Doubting Tobias tells Alejandro they need to find out the secrets in The Box to find out who Maricruz really is.

The New:
Maricruz tells Maria, say it with me now… “Yo quiero morir!” Having heard this from Maricruz about 100 times before, Maria ignores her and goes right to chatting about the sweet life Maricruz is now living. MC admits that Don Ale is good peeps. Maria’s money runs out and the call ends before they finish speaking, but Maria is just pleased that she fulfilled her mission and can now be on her way, to bring delight, merriment, and hijinks elsewhere.

Tobi continues to try to convince Ale to break into The Box. After all, if the girl dies on them, and they don’t really know who she is, Ale could be held responsible. Don Ale shuts down those morbid thoughts. (Tobi is as much of a Drama Queen as MC with all this death talk.) Ale doesn’t want to betray her trust that way. When MC feels better, she can give them the details of her life. Tobi doesn’t look convinced.

Amores Verdaderos #153 Fri 6/14/13 Nikki Does the Unexpected; Anyballs' Plan; Joan/Carlos and Adri Get er, Cozy!

Happy Father's Day Y'all!

The Balvanera Foyer of All Things Pertinent:
Anyballs is in a mood, when is he ever not in a mood? Things haven't quite gone as he'd planned. FF has wandered home in his dishelved state, all that time in the hospital ya know. Anyballs warns the FF he wants no publicity about this Mia, as in no pics and no speaking by Kendho to the press of her being the Mother of Mia either. FF reminds Anyballs he knows all of his secrets, about Lili and wouldn't Adri like to know. Anyballs recommends that Mia be put up for adoption as that would be better than FF or Kendho raising the child. FF is pithed and takes a swing at Anyballs, but for a man advanced of years, Anyballs is pretty quick and stops him. FF reminds him that he also had an illegtimate daughter (Cris) out of wedlock! Anyballs doesn't want to be threatened and FF warns him it's a promise cause he can tell that to everyone anytime! Ms Vikki comes down the stairs and isn't happy to be seeing what is going on. She wants to know what the heck is going on here? Anyballs tells her it has to do with Nikki and FF is now curious about Nikki too. Anyballs gets right to the problem, er his problem he knows all about Nikki and Guzman! FF has been kept in the dark and wants to know the skinny on that too! FF of course, turns to Ms Vikki and wants to know what is going on here? Now Nikki and Frankie (Guzman) decide to come in at about this time, laughing and carefree. Meantime, Polita and Tomi are at the top of that staircase and the Angel and Lili are about to come into the foyer but stop. Just setting the scene. Nikki is so happy everyone is gathered together in this foyer, that would be Ms Vikki, FF and Anyballs even though Ms Vikki knows what is coming. Nikki takes Frankie's hand and informs the gathered family that she is in luurrrvvvve. They smile at each other and smooch right in front of them. This is when the Angel and Lili are about to come into the foyer and stop. They are both shocked by what they are seeing! Same with Tomi and Polita at the top of the stairs! Nikki now informs the assembled family members that Guzmancito is no longer her bodyguard, but is her boyfriend and they are soon to be married. FF is beyond pithed! He tries to yank Nikki away from Frankie, but Frankie stops him.

Corazon Indomable #25 6-14-13 MC Takes a Depressive Turn y Oblivio Finally Adds 2+2 Correctly!

Corazon Indomable #25 6-14-13: MC Takes a Depressive Turn y Oblivio Finally Adds 2+2 Correctly.

The Old
Don Alejandro and Maricruz arrive at the pension. MC runs (leaving poor Alejandro behind) to find her sister depressed in bed. Serafina tells Don Alejandro that Solita has a fever and the doctor also reported her extreme anxiety. Solita does not want MC to leave her alone, so MC informs Don Alejandro she has to renounce her job to be with Solita. This leaves Don Alefandro muy impactado.

The New

Somewhere in La Isla:
Toni runs into Teo who is surprised he is out and about so early. Toni reveals that working into the wee hours of the night at the Casino is not very agreeable to him. Teo wonders why he needs so much sleep (I wonder at the relevance of this scene).  Topic turns to Aracely and Teo gets upset. He will continue protecting her because he’s not going to let anyone disrespect Aracely!!

Moving on up:
Don Alejandro has all the answers. It’s simple he tells MC. You all can come and live in the big house.  With some convincing from Don Alejandro and Serafina (She warmed up to him quick. Was it not just a day or two ago she was telling MC to be wary of her patron) MC takes Don Alejandro’s offer. MC is overwhelmed, not only did she know he is a good person but he is also like a guardian angel. (The music takes an eerie turn when MC shakes hands with Alejandro. I find it very distracting as it makes me think something bad will happen….ok focus sorry!).

Serafina is happy for MC and tells her Don Alejandro really is a nice person. MC adds that Alejandro is her teacher and is trying to transform her into a Lady. Serafina jokes than soon she will not be able to recognize her (At the rate MC is going, Serfina will have to wait a looong time). MC turns serious and tells Serafina she does not want ANYONE knowing where she is (read: Oblivio). She does not want anyone to know Don Alejandro’s number either. They say their good byes and thank you and drive off to the big house. (There goes that music again).

PEAM #70-6/14/13:What Love Demands, the Bucket of Destiny Delivered! Did Alma and Chucho Get the Hint? Nah, Not So Much!

Happy Father's Day Y'all!

We start this epi with Patymelt trying to sneak into Rogue's place and Rogue is screaming and then he screams for Alma, who starts toward the stairs, sees the Patio door open, and goes and closes it and then goes upstairs. She never sees the Patymelt. Patymelt, outside, is very happy Alma didn't see her, but she stubbed her toe, and boy is it hurting.

Chucho puts Val to bed and she asks him how someone can stop loving another person. He tries to explain about divorce, etc and she says she loves her Papa Chucho, besos on cheekies.

Those bumbling Avon secruity guards are on patrol in the warehouse and come upon Ricardo, fast asleep with his teddy bear. Awww. They wake him up and want to know why he is sleeping in the warehouse. Ricardo explains about losing his place, all his stuff and how his friends couldn't put him up, and by the time he is done, he is sobbing along with the security guards. He is allowed to stay in the warehouse, and Ricardo grins behind that teddy bear.

Qué Bonito Amor #45 (Mex 67-68.1) Friday 6/14/13 The Long Lost Prince Charming Returns to His Sleeping Beauty

Cap 67-68 partial

Santos apparently cannot find his way out of the maze of a basement he’s found himself in. (Ask the rat that invited himself to your dinner last night. I’m sure he knows the way.) When JAntos hears voices he hides and, peeking around the corner of the wall, sees Giuliano El Gusano there.

Back at El Coloso’s apartment, Elvira asks Coloso (while Sr. Cock-a-doodle-do is enjoying the petting he’s getting) if El Col had had somebody get JAntos out of the way for him. He says that would’ve been a nice touch, but no such luck and anyway, he would rather do the deed himself, macho a macho.

Maria is getting sicker; her family worries and watches over her as she cries and frets in her sleep. Oscar pays a visit to Maria a bit later and Amalia allows him to sit by her bed. He confesses to Maria he’d dreamt of this moment—chatting with her in between the sheets--for years, but this is not exactly the way he’d imagined it. Maria innocently ignores him and moans that JA must be dead and that she wants to join him in the más allá [great beyond/afterlife]. He tries to convince her that she needs a man who won’t cause her so much grief and uncertainty. (No, she needs a jealous macho country loaf like you to drive her crazy instead.) But she tells him what she needs right now is a big brother. He’s okay with that until El Pochito shows up again.

JAntos is still lost in the maze when one of the thugs grabs him and ties him up again.

Back in El Lay, Derecho and Curtis’s captain demands convincing [contundente] proof and closure to the Santos Marinez de la Garza case ASAP. He gives them two weeks to close the case or it goes into the cold case files.

Justo admits to AltaGracia that Giulio is a mercenary of the worst kind cuz he killed his own cousin. Unfortunately, they have no tangible proof and cannot counter sue the S.O.B. What’s worse is that all the police have managed to do is to slow things down [entorpecer] and stall out.

Olmo loses patience with his hired goofs guns and threatens that if they don’t finish off JAntos immediately then one of them is going to get the axe—literally.

Regino and his own set of goons follow Mil Amores figuring that Fernando will eventually lead them to his runaway punching bag of a bride.

Team DnC visit Justo to tell him they think his son had Bruno offed. Justo tells him he hasn’t the proof but he knows it was Giuli since the guy confessed during a phone call. Derecho notes they saw him traveling to Mexico City and has a sudden bit of insight. “—Either it was Giuliano and he’s a murderer, or it was Santos and he hired him, or the two of them are in cahoots together!” If that’s the case, then Giuli the Gem’s going to Mexico means his son’s life could be in danger, warns Justo! Something has to be done to protect him! (Viewerville has a beanie moment as reality slips in. It struggles to believe Justo would ever trust a pair of keystone coppers like Team DnC with his only son’s life.)

Mil goes to the Cyber Café and sends Altagracia an email that Santos has gone missing. While he’s there he surfs the news and sees the report on Bruno’s murder up in El Lay.

JAntos figures this is his last day on earth and thinks Olmo invited Giuliano down to watch the execution. He worries about Maria and what must be going through her head right now. “—Hopefully, with Fernando’s help she’ll overcome this pain and get on with her life.”

Amalia has a chat with Oscar about the cruelty of abandoning a child. He gets the message loud and clear. He asks isn’t it just as rotten of Gloria to have waited sixteen years to tell him he had a son? Amalia asks if he’d looked for her at all during this time. Sure, but her father sent her out of the country to separate the two of them and all the letters he wrote her were “bounced back” to him, he answers. Amalia suggests he get to know his kid. He’d be surprised the blessing he’d see as a parent sharing Rodri’s joys and sorrows or his little romances --not to mention many semi-adult tantrums….(Remind him to stock up on Just For Men. It’s designed with parenting in mind.) Oscar starts to consider the possibility…..

Mil runs into Rodrigo in the colonia and learns that Gloria’s gone for cancer treatments. He feels so alone, Rodri tells Fernando, especially with JAntos gone missing. Fer tries to convince Rodri that his daddy really is a melty marshmallow under all that burnt crust. Rodri refuses to have anything to do with him. Ok, says Fer. Well, for now you’ve got my friendly shoulder to lean on!

JAntos and Maria continue pining away for each other. Ruben’s goofy goons throw him into the SUV and head for the killing fields.

Fer doesn’t know he’s being watched when he gets a text from Roxy. (Viewerville wonders what the subtext is.)

Giuli and Ruben sign a business contract of some sort, but Giuli tells him that he needs 10 million deposited first before their business dealings can begin. Ruben isn’t the rube he appears to be to Giuli and asks why the pressure for so much cash up front. Giuli tells him he has lots of palms to grease [aceitar]. “--Ahmmme. I let you know when the money might be available.” Giuli doesn’t like the sound of that. Ruben decides he’ll have to think about it for a while and smiles broadly. (Viewerville quickly thinks of shark teeth now whenever Ruben grins.) Giuli plays it cool, but he’s not a happy camper. “—Sure. Take all the time you need. Sr. del Olmo.”

JAntos demands to speak with Giuliano to tell him he’s a coward and that if he’s planned this then it should be doing Giuli murdering him with his own hands! The goons tell him too bad, but they’re the ones who’ll be doing the honors, y punto. JAntos thinks his final farewell to Maria.

Back in El Lay, Wendy visits Michael in prison and confesses that Bruno was the guilty one after all. He snookered them both, she says. She asks in Bruno’s name to forgive him for having betrayed him. Michael hugs her and apparently does forgive all. (What a royal S.A.P.) She then tells him that she’s having Bruno’s baby. (Wendy may be a brat, but she’s nobody’s fool. With Mike free she has a ready-made daddy in the wings for Bronzo, Jr.)

Derecho phones his MC counterpart, Com. Malo, with a ‘tope sacret meesion.’ “--The other suspect we were following’s life is in danger. Keep an eye on Giuliano Rina.”

El Celoso and El Aventurero hop in the mariachimobile, driving to…somewhere. They nearly have an accident with Ruben’s goofy goons’ SUV. Col and the other driver get out and start screaming at each other about what backwater swamp they both learned to drive in, or some such. Santo’s hears El Col’s voice. He kicks at the door and begins yelling. Col hears the noise but has no idea what it could be. “—What have you got inside there? Mules?” Aventurero says he smells a rat and they threaten the others with calling the police. The other driver backs down and drives away. Col misses his chance to be the “heroe de la historia” for now but at least he decides it might be a good idea to take down the SUV’s license plate number. He keys it into his cell phone.

A few minutes later, Santos gets a chance to knock out the goon in the back seat with him, and to throw himself out of the SUV. He rolls into a huge garbage pile and loses consciousness. The two goons in the front realize he’s escaped and want to go back to pick him up but, there’s a patrol car up ahead. They freak and beat it.

Rodri and Mil join forces to first check around for JA and then they figure to stop by Ana’s place.

Wendy tells Mama about her good deed for the day and says she’s going to go visit Michael more often. Mama is muy pleased.

Comandante Malo and Officer Camel-o are tailing Giuli and Arny. They watch as Ruben and the others arrive together at the hotel. Mal and Cam ask for an introduction. Ruben greets the two and introduces them all. Afterwards, the comandante notes it’s a strange thing seeing their suspect and del Olmo hobnobbing there in Mexico City.

On the other side of town, Fernando notices that Roxy’s hubby, Regino’s, SUV is parked outside Ana’s apartment. He calls to warn her. Before she can get out, though, Regino and the boys invite themselves in and demand to know where Roxy has gone. They are destroying her apartment when Mil arrives and quickly drags her out. She and he manage to shut the door and lock Roxy’s hubby and goons in the apartment.

JAntos regains consciousness, uses a broken bottle neck to cut the wrist and leg ties, brushes himself off and finds a way back home. He’s a mess when Doña Pru and her sister greet him at the entrance to the colonia. They give him the rundown on Maria and her emotional breakdown once she found out he was missing. They suggest he get cleaned up before going over to see her now that he’s back. Otherwise he’ll upset and frighten her more than she already is.

Ana tells Fernando she’s had it up to her eyeballs and more with him and his little adventures. For all she cares he can take a flying leap at the moon! She storms off down the street and Fer feeds Rodri some senseless macho-babble about not needing to understand women, just needing love them…..

Outside on the steps to Maria’s apartment, Oscar tells the other mariachis that he owes his singing career to her. We get a musical flashback to the successful audition at Concho’s bar.

Amalia leaves a few more requests on the virgencita’s voice-mail. Seems she’s been a bit behind in answering lately.

The whole group is there waiting for Maria to give up the ghost when JAntos reappears, obviously a bit worse for wear, and enters her bedroom. He wakes her up with a kiss and words to the song “La Vida No Vale Nada Sin Ti” [Life’s Not Worth Living Without You].

v Back at the bar in the uptown hotel, Ruben says he’ll finalize the deals of the contract soon; Fabian adds they’ll see how the 10 million is spent; and then, continues Ruben, they’ll all travel to someplace full of gorgeous women. Fabian surprises everyone in the group saying he’s got a special surprise for them all.

Fer warns El Celoso off making a scene in Maria’s bedroom now and he reluctantly agrees. Actually everyone vanishes once they see that Maria realizes JAntos is back and at her bedside. She grabs his hand and caresses his bruised and cut face. “—I wanted to die. What have they done to you?” “—They tried separating me from you.” He admits he should probably never have fallen in love with her, but he couldn’t help it. From the first night they met he was in love. Ditto for her, she says. He rocked her world. “—Tell me now, who hurt you? Tell me who wanted to kill you?” Cara de how could she know de JAntos.

Qué Bonito Amor #44 (Mex 65.2-66) Thursday 6/13/13 Que Bonito Aburrimiento

At Casa Maria, Rodrigo and the Mariaettes say grace and have some pan dulce.  Note to self: find gluten-free version.  I miss conchas with coffee!

Colosso and Mirna go to bitch to Concho that JA didn't show up to rehearsal.  They convince Concho that JA is taking advantage of him. Concho wants to see JA whenever he shows up.

Wriggling rat.  Wriggling JA.

Elvira hasn't given up on JA.  She has a new plan, which she won't share with the redhead.  What.  Ever.

Maria's still worried about JA.  And still wearing that gorgeous red dress.  Note to self: get a job where dresses like that are required on a nightly basis.

JA writhes and complains that the porno music won't let him sleep.  He thinks maybe he deserves this, but come on, man…nobody deserves tacky porno music!  He FINALLY (it's been what a week and a half?) drops Maria's ring on the floor and tries to use it to cut the ropes from his hands.

Justo makes plans to meet with the "Procurador"  (Attorney General) and try to save his boy.

* Lo refrito: Aníbal is doing the usual stuff – ruining the life of his family members in the name of love. He orders the detective Avellaneda to hide evidences from Adriana.

* Lo nuevo: said Adriana is spending the day with Scarf-Face, working on the script of the movie. The air is definitely sizzling around them. Adri is more beautiful than ever, and Jhoaaannn seems very interested in her. He knows the script was written by Vicky, and he’s bitching a little bit about that the first lover should’ve won instead of the bodyguard, but when Adriana says that the script might’ve hit a nerve, he quickly changes the topic.

Corazon Indomable #24 6-13-13 MariCruz 2.0 Takes Baby Steps (and Maybe Some Giant Steps) Toward Her Future

Previously
Don Alejandro says he will make MariCruz a great lady (un gran dama).  This brings to mind other celluloid makeovers, including Princess Diaries, My Fair Lady, Miss Congeniality, and Pretty Woman (for whatever that’s worth.)  MariCruz’ age and hair style seem similar to Princess Diaries [recapper’s opinion].    Scenes may be combined.

Down Home
Our action begins as Lucia composes a letter to Octavio (She probably attended two semesters at a prestigious university, where she majored in fashion design and minored in creative writing before dropping out to get married.) She explains that she’s writing instead of Miguel, that he’s busy with a heavy work load, that Tav shouldn’t be concerned for MC.  In fact, MC may be over him, etc. etc.; there’s no encouragement for a continued relationship. (If I missed details here, please fill in.) She tells him to take care and don’t do any crazy stuff.

PEAM# 69- 6/13/13- Number C-47902/X You are Not the Father!!! Number D-47902/X - You Are The Father and Ouch, Zip Up Slowly!!!!

From yesterday

We are at Valentina’s school with Vero salivating over Jesus and here comes Elias, bad mouthing Jesus.  Vero tells Elias to grow up and Jesus reminds everyone of the purpose of their visit, Valentina.

In Acapulco- Rogue gets his family jewels caught up in the zipper for a minute of good-bye pleasure, while Alma is waiting for him at the bar.  Thank you, Ms. Karma.  (Does this mean that Rogue was not wearing his boxers??) Rogue turns, as a red as a beet and stupid Paty doesn’t know what to do. He doesn’t want her help.  How about calling for a doctor????
Rogue calls Alma and he tells her that he needs her he had an accident.
 New business

At the school- the teacher understands that Val is undergoing a difficult time and she shows the family, her drawing of two adults fighting.  Elias.  Elias flips out (he needs a lobotomy) and Jesus tells him that Val wants to live with him because there is just too much fighting.  The teacher agrees that maybe Val should stay with Jesus for a spell.  Elias is uncontrollable and very unreasonable.  Their problems are affecting Val’s emotional development.

Back at the hotel, Alma is trying to help a screaming Rogue.  He wants Alma to return back to Monterrey.  He wants his own doctor.  Huh??? When you're in pain any doctor will do.  My head is hurting from the whining and screaming. It hurts if he moves, so stay still. Alma calls for an ambulance- finally!!!!!  There is blood everywhere!!!

Panfilo tries to gives Marisela some fatherly advice about Elias.  Panfilo is worried about the age difference, he is under 40.  Elias is married and married couples fight.  He doesn’t want Marisela to get hurt.

St. Ferny is thinking about Discua.  Alex, the escort gives up. Ferny wondering if she is hot or cold in India.  What an idiot.  He checks the temperature on the intent.

Rogue’s little jewels are wrapped up against infection.  It looks like he is wearing a diaper.  Hmmmm- Karma!!!!
Elias speaks to Val- the only mature person and tells Elias that she loves him and hopes that he is not angry with her.  Vero in her neon green skirt that matches her cell phone handle. Jesus reminds her that Elias is a good man who doesn’t deserve this.

Corazón Indomable #23, 6/12/13: Alejandro Plays Daddy Warbucks to Little Orphan Mari

Recapper Ellie is sick, so this is just a brief bullet points recap from my memory.

- Maricruz and Alejandro get along like old friends. He is welcoming and kind to her. She is free to be her outspoken, lighthearted self with him and he loves it. There is something about her eyes that reminds him of someone…hmmm, could it be his long-disappeared WIFE who looked EXACTLY like Maricruz?! Nah!
- Maricruz chooses not to share much of her tragic story with Alejandro. He does learn her age (19), that she has recently arrived from the country with her deaf-mute little sister, had a grandfather who passed away, that she and her sister live in a boarding house, that she has few clothes, and that, although she’s full of enthusiasm, she doesn’t know squat about cleaning a big fancy house. In a funny scene, Don Alejandro, rich casino owner, takes a duster and shows Maricruz the proper technique for dusting, while hoping she doesn’t break one of the expensive vases she is so causally tossing about.
- Maricruz must sleep at the big house (in a very nice room) during the work week, and plans to spend her weekends in the boarding house. There might have been an offer from Alejandro for her sister to also stay in the house, but I’m fuzzy on this. The older housekeeper/cook is very nice to Maricruz.
- During Maricruz’s first day and night away, Solita falls into a deep depression. Neither Sarafina with her hugs and offers of food, nor Moctavio/Monito with his monkey caresses, can cure her blues.
- Sarafina tells Octavio about her lovely new guest Maricruz and her sister. Octavio is struck by the name, but has no clue it’s HIS Maricruz. Since they are both young and alone, she thinks they should meet. (Sarafina the matchmaker.) Sarafina also suspects that the poor girl is pregnant. Somehow she picked up on this, although MC is in no way showing. Octavio says he’d like to meet her, but not for any romance. He’s only got one lady on his mind.
- Ed convinces Octavio to take some R&R and accompany him to Isla Dorada, land of casinos (including Alejandro’s) and beautiful women. Octavio is hesitant. He’s saving all his pesos to send to MC, after all. And he doesn’t want to fall into gambling debt, like he did last time. Uh oh!

PEAM #68-6/12/13: It's Official! In Avon, Nobody Does What Love Commands!

''We might not look perfect for each other
You are flying so high and I am starting to fly
But we are both human beings
and of course we can dream
I was dreaming of you
as my ideal partner
And against what the world could think about us
Today you and me are one
and we will be like this forever!
Because when love is true, age, class, race or economic level
whatever everybody says it doesn't matter,
What really matters is that we love each other with sincerity
Remember that in the heart, as in our bedroom
"Only love commands"!

Me? Secretary? Never!

Well... that's the second opening theme for the TN and for the looks of it, seems like Osorio told the musicians to make a good song to reflect the spirit of the story and then told the writers to write the absolute completely opposite. Who would have thunk it?

This is what they wrote:

Rogelio and Alma speak on the phone, blah, blah, blah...
Alma and her father talk, blah, blah, blah...
Elías and Verónica yell at each other, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH...
Jesús talks to Valentina, mi princesa this blah, blah, blah, mi princesa that blah, blah, blah...

Amores Verdaderos #150 Tue 6/11/13 Finally, a glimpse of a shirtless Salsa-Dude

Amores Verdaderos Cap 150—6-11-13—Finally, a glimpse of a shirtless Salsa-Dude

You can tell that my priorities are all screwed up. Or not. I admit that Salsa is my guilty pleasure.

And he doesn't look that bad! I had always assumed he had a Jorge Salinas body (my fave actor, but best seen with a shirt on) but I guess I was wrong!

PUT A FORK IN IT, THE RECAP IS DONE!

Not listed in order; scenes are consolidated for my sanity.

* We do a refrito of The Little Ape and Nikki all happy happy happy in his bed, talking about B.S. Pillow fight.

* Now that Carlos has been kindly given the heave-ho by Vikki, he apparently is deciding to explore the obvious chemistry he has with Adri. He tries to plant another smooch on her, but she's not going for it. She says that she just wants their relationship to be professional. She would feel wrong doing this to Vicki. (Why doesn't Carlos clear the air there? Maybe because it makes him look like he has the attention span of a hummingbird or something?) Anyway, Carlos plays the "you're a woman, I'm a man" card, but it doesn't work. Adri leaves. It doesn't look like Carlos is quite ready to give up, though.

Adri worries about her sister's feelings regarding Carlos. She needn't have bothered.

Carlos accepts this. For now . . .

* Beatriz and Salsa-Dude are alone at her place, happy happy happy once again. They talk about various things, including how Salsa-Dude has a genuine affection for Guillo now. (He admits that at first he was trying to make good with the kid to get in good with the mom. Which is pretty much standard procedure.) And, they talk about how now that Leo the Low is moldering in the ground, the boda is ON! He tells her he never took off the engagement ring. She shows him that she wore his ring around her neck on a necklace. She unstrings the ring and asks him to put it on her finger. He does so. Besos and hugs.

Happy happy happy, joy joy joy. Is that an anvil I see poised over Salsa-Dude's head?

CI #22: Maricruz’s Life in the Big City Begins and the Fickle Finger of Fate After a Few False Starts Finally Gets It Right

Cap 22

Lo del Pasado:

Maricruz and Solita have left for Mexico City in order to escape the hopeless poverty and prejudice of her pueblo and possibly to find her daddy.  With both Octavio and Mari permanently out of the picture, Lucia has easily talked Miguel into pocketing the cash from Octavio’s money order rather than returning it.  Tav’ll never know because Luciafer (thanks, Cathyx!) has made Miguel agree to never mention a word of this to his brother.

Lo Del Nuevo:

Maricruz, still clinging to her Abuelo Ramiro’s box of ashes, and Solita arrive in the D.F.   Just outside the entrance to the bus terminal she gets a hint of the heat those cement city sidewalks can give off  and she finally succumbs to purchasing a couple pair of one-size fit all sandals for her and Solita.  (Whew!  That’s a load off Viewerville’s mind!)  They jump in the first cab available and head for police comandante’s comadre’s boarding house that he told her about.  Just so happens that this is the same boarding house that Eduardo found for Tav to stay in. (Duhn-duhn-duhnn!)  Tav has been checking on his mail and ducked out for a breath of fresh air.  He walks back inside just before Mari and Solita’s cabbie pulls up to the curb.

Mari doesn’t know how to count change, she tells the cabbie, but that’s okay cuz the cabbie is as honest as the day is long.  He takes a choice bill out of the handful she’s given him and returns the rest.

PEAM, Tuesday 6/11/13 (#67): One Flew East, One Flew West...

...and one crash-landed in the cuckoo's nest and the cuckoo took a picture!

(Real mental illness is no laughing matter, but TV mental illness is another thing entirely.)

In Acapulco, an eager young photographer spots the famous Rogelio Rivadeneira with someone who isn't the equally famous Alma Montemayor. He discreetly snaps plenty of photos.

Rogue wants to talk about Paty's sticky fingers habit. She denies having a problem and teases him for seeming concerned, as if he really loves her. He insists that he is only trying to avoid getting involved in a scandal. Paty gets annoyed and silences him with kisses and groping. The unnoticed photographer gets lots of incriminating footage, while our dastardly duo is too busy smacking lips to hear the loud camera noises coming from behind a nearby shrub.

Back in Monterrey, Alma frets and stresses over a financial report she's supposed to send to Pancho, Pancho Lopez in Toluca. The numbers aren't balancing. She steps out of her office just in time to see Vero laying a heavy kiss on Chucho in front of all the secretarias.

In accordance with telenovela custom, Alma fails to notice that Chucho is barely tolerating the kiss. She demands to see him in her office right away. Too bad if Marta's waiting for him! She can wait longer!

Marta is actually not waiting for Chucho. She's having a heated debate with herself, or more likely her alter-ego, like sort of a Gollum/Smeagol thing, in the restroom mirror. She's telling herself she can't let that lil' chippie Maricela take away the man she loves. She can't make a fool of herself like she did with Isaac. She MADE Isaac use, abuse, or rape her (captions couldn't agree whether it was usar or abusar). But she LOVED him! No, she PROVOKED him! She MADE him do it! At any rate, she's got Elias now and she'd better not lose him to that little idiot.

Jessica enters the restroom and hears enough of this to be concerned. She asks Marta if she's feeling okay. "Couldn't be better," Marta replies. (Cuckoo!) She recognizes Jess as the singer from the New Year's Eve party, explains about the company's "program," and asks if Jess has time for her interview now. Jess agrees. As they exit the restroom, Marta seems to flick a nervous glance towards Jess. Jess looks very worried as she follows Marta out.

Qué Bonito Amor #42 (Mex 62.2-63) Tuesday 6/11/13

Capitulo 64 & 65.1:  War is Declared

Emergency fill-in with bullet points (not necessarily in this order):

  • Jorge Alfredo wins the singing competition
  • Oscar grouses about having to have the DNA test
  • Jairo tells Oscar it's time he gave up on Maria
  • Derecho, Curtis, and their Mexican colleagues go to another restaurant to pig out [zzzzz]
  • Ana barges into Maria's dressing room with the pasted newspaper photo of Santos.  He tells Maria he wants to talk to her alone.  Ana doesn't leave until Maria asks her to.  Santos tells Maria he saw an old friend that evening.  He had been betrayed by friends in El Lay and because of that lost who he was, his very identity.   He doesn't go into the exact details and she doesn't ask him to.  He does tell her that this made him realize that his life in El Lay was empty and banal.  Now he may be a poor mariachi, but he is rich in her love and that is what matters.
  • Rodrigo worries about Gloria.  Jorge Alfredo tries to reassure him.
  • Jorge Alfredo confronts Ruben in his office, telling him that if it's war he wants, he'll get it.  [Even Jorge Alfredo isn't immune from foolish macho posturing]; Ruben is still determined to get the better of him
  • Mancia reads the cards for Amalia, saying that death is near Maria
  • Bruno drives back to El Lay, making the stupid mistake of calling Arnold
  • Giuliano tells himself that Bruno will sleep with the fishes
  • Rodrigo gives Paloma a bracelet and asks her to be his novia
  • Irasema and Susanito run into one of her old clients in the street; Susanito tells him to bug off
  • Jorge Alfredo buys an engagement ring, heart-shaped balloon, and a rose
  • Oscar gets the test results; Felicidades, es un varon!
  • Bruno and Wendy meet in El Lay; Bruno is shot
  • Jorge Alfredo is kidnapped and taken into the same black van that belongs to Roxana's husband.

CI: Episode #21, Monday, June 10, 2013 – MC, Solita and their Monkey Leave “Ranch Hell” and Head for the Big City, But Not Before MC Promises Sweet Vengeance!!!!!

Corazon Indomable, Episode #21, Monday, June 10, 2013 –
MC, Solita and their Monkey Leave “Ranch Hell” and Head for the Big City, But Not Before MC Promises Sweet Vengeance!!!!!

(Note:  some scenes are combined)

Santa breaks the news to MC that grandpa has died.  MC sobs and asks if he died from sadness.  Maria and Santa explain that the shack caught fire and grandpa couldn’t get out.  MC asks where Solita is, if she died too.  Her friends tell her they didn’t find Solita among the burned ruins, but don’t know where she is, and she probably got scared and ran away.  MC says Solita would never have left grandpa alone to burn.  She begs to be let out so she can go look for her.

Miguel tells Lucia that Ofelia mentioned the P.I. and he asks what he wanted; Lucia says the P.I. was hired by a rich client to search for a man named Ramiro and a young girl named Maria Alejandra Mendoza, that she thought of mentioning Don Ramiro and his death but felt it would be “in bad taste” – as if bad taste ever stopped Luciafer from doing anything.  Miguel asks if it could have anything to do with MC, but Lucia says no, nothing.

A trooper makes Maria, Santa and JA go away.  MC begs them not to leave, then yells that it’s all Lucia’s fault, that she is an evil woman.  She screams that she hates the whole world, all those who were evil towards her, and especially “Octavio, that one before anyone else.  He’s guilty too, and I would kill him before anyone else because I hate him.  I hate him with all my heart.”

Miguel tells Lucia that he already gave inspector Suarez the document they both signed dropping any charges against MC and also some money for MC, just as Lucia suggested……Later, Lucia says to herself that they will have to go over her dead body before she will accept any culpability.  (Any takers to do the honors???)  Then she remembers that she “always” heard that MC was the daughter of a rich man who abandoned the mother.  (Really, is that why she always called her basura?)  She wonders why the different name, but is glad that she misled the detective.
