She said she just wanted to help and he told her that she will do what he demands.

Por Amar Sin Ley, Season 2 Martes 5/21/19 Episode 48: Patience

I'm Christopher Mason. I'm not a lawyer but I've known many, especially in New York. The court systems move in mysterious ways and most people don't seem to know that things don't happen as quickly as they seem on television legal dramas. This is not always a bad thing although it is supremely frustrating.

I'm Candice DeLong. I've worked in law enforcement and I get impatient with the legal system when there are criminals who deserve every punishment the courts can deal out. But it does sometimes have detours.

New York:

A assistant DA demanded to see Adrián's license. He showed it and stated the reason for the chrges. The assistant DA said Cristina would have to make a formal statement. Adrián then said they were ready to proceed.

*The Kiss Not
Bobby and Vicky have been trapped in the elevator since Wednesday night. Will they or won’t they? (C’mon, you two, get it over with.) Bobby tells her that avoiding him by burying her nose in all those books is harming her. He turns her towards him and moves in. Ooops. The doors open. Besointerruptus. Vicky throws him a go hither glance and gets off. Bobby has no daddy or tequila handy to soothe him.

*The Blind leading the Dumb

In fact folks were begging for it; they hadn’t been getting any. Henchies think El Gringo is gone. El Ciego doesn’t think that’s fair. El G. was out to kill him. He muses that if El Ciego were El Gringo, he’d stick around and finish the job. He tells his henchies to lay in the arms and armament for total war.

*Fanny Gets a Double Whammy

Por Amar Sin Ley, Season 2 Martes 5/14/19 Episode 44: The Mighty Will Fall

I'm Christopher Mason. Sex has been a human weapon for as long as the species has walked the Earth. It's one of the universal languages. But the most universal thing about it is that it doesn't discriminate. It's a crime that can occur anywhere and everyone knows a perpetrator.

I'm Candice Delong. Sex crimes are a daily occurrence and it may not require genius to use someone's sex drive against them.

Ricardo told his children that Alejandra had been shot. They asked about danger and he told them he wasn't going to allow anything to happen to them.

Por Amar Sin Ley, Season 2, Viernes 5/10/19, Episode 42: Who's Your Daddy?

In the Underworld:

Carlos delivers the maps of El Gringo's districts of operation, but El Ciego only has eyes for his calculator. Carlos finally gets his attention by mentioning the evidence tape, which sends El Ciego through the roof. Carlos spins out his story masterfully, finally revealing that he has lined up a full slate of accomplices to solve the problem, but he'll need money.  "Chivo! El Portafolio!"

El Ciego makes it very clear to Carlos that to find and deal with his fiancee's killer, he needs to be out of jail and off the police radar. Carlos demands the right to dispatch El Gringo himself. El C doubts he has the avocados for that kind of job, but finally says that if El Gringo is found alive, he'll invite Carlos to the party. (There seems to be a shift in the balance of power here, with Carlos acting increasingly deranged, at one point even grabbing El Ciego by the back of the neck and shouting directly into his face. Is Carlos learning from his patron?)

Casa de Gustavo:

Ric drops in on Gus, who asks him how he's doing. (Can we dispense with that question, please? He's mal, muy mal. We all see it, and we don't want to hear about it anymore.) Gus gives him a fatherly lecture about getting ahold of himself, and then tells him he has something to show him. He leads him upstairs and stops in front of a crime wall that would be the envy of any police station. The only way he was able to go on, he admits, is because he never stopped investigating. They agree to join forces, with Ric insisting that Carlos has something to do with all of it and Gus concentrating on the death of El Gato.

Alternate Nueva York:

Meester Bloompz invites Cristina to present her idea before the board, then humiliates her in front of everyone by asking if she spread her legs to get the sale. To their credit, they all look uncomfortable. Adding insult to injury, or the other way around, he keeps her after the meeting to spell out that things could go very well or very badly for her: it's her choice. She tosses her hair and says she's not that kind of girl and flounces off to HR. On the way, her frenemy reminds her that she's not a citizen and could lose both her job and her work visa, but our Cristina is undaunted. Is there any doubt she will end up in the capable hands of Super-Vicky?

Bufete Vega:

It looks like a workday, but actually it's just one of those talking-about-workdays.

Por Amar Sin Ley, Season 2 Miercoles 5/8/19 Episode 41: Thieves

Carlos told Nancy that their lives would be in danger if she couldn't find some way to get El Ciego's image out of the security videos. Nancy told him she couldn't do this. He asked “Couldn't or wouldn't?” and she said that they would have to involve other people and that it would cost. He said that money was no object, then asked her again whether she will do this. Nancy told Carlos that what he was asking for was a serious crime. He said he knew that, but the firm was at stake. Thus he got her to agree. She reminded him that this would cost a lot of money and he said not to worry. Further that she was not to discuss this with anyone, including Alan. She told him not to worry about it. He said he was glad he hired her.

Por Amar Sin Ley, Season 2 Martes 5/7/19, Episode 40: Digging

I'm Christopher Mason. Digging for evidence is often a thankless job. It's even more difficult when those doing it are too emotionally involved in the case. Too much objectivity is usually lost.

I'm Candice DeLong. The dangers of police work are rarely understood by people outside enforcement agencies. Even by lawyers, who should know better.

Victoria went to see Ricardo. She hugged him and cried as she told him how sorry she was for his loss. Alejandra had been her friend, colleague, and like a sister. He started crying and she told him he had to go on. He had her, Roberto, Gustavo, Alonso, and everyone else at the firm. What he was feeling was normal but he would get better a little at a time. He was to do that for Alejandra.

Por Amar Sin Ley, Season 2 Lunes 5/619, Episode 39: The Crasher

Carlos took the microphone and greeted his guests, singling out groups by title. He effectively dedicated this to Alejandra despite that their aborted nuptuals had been months ago and said that his firm would be dedicated to serving its clients well. He made it short and sweet, closing with telling everyone to have a good time. A short round of applause later two reporters shoved microphones in his face and one asked whether there was any progress on the investigation into Alejandra's death. He told her that the police were doing their work.

Por Amar Sin Ley, Season 2 Viernes 5/3/19, Episode 38: More Lies and Less Whispers

Part 1 – Rick lands in jail for a few minutes
*We start up where PASL left off last night. Rick has lost his marbles and decides to take on the whole police force right outside their offices. He’s yelling at the top of his voice that Quiroz is responsible for Ale’s death. Rick bloodies Quiroz’ jaw and Quiroz’s buddies take Rick down. He’s taken into custody and dragged away towards the police station.

*Bobby starts to call—Victoria maybe? He throws the phone down as Juan arrives to chat. He’s puzzled by the condition everyone at the office is in. They’re all so…so, down. Bobby says they are all affected by what happened to Ale and he declares they have to catch those desgraciados. He gets a call. When he gets to Gus’ office Bobby tells him Rick is in trouble.

*They show up at the jail to find Rick behind bars. Why? Why? Rick says he just couldn’t control himself. He was so angry and frustrated over Quiroz letting Ale do what she was doing without telling anyone else. Gus says he knows exactly how he feels, but reminds him that those folks were doing their jobs. Rick insists that if he had known what Ale was up to she wouldn’t have died. Gus gives him more soothing, comforting words—Ale will live on inside him.

She told him she would be alright and would talk to him later. Adrián heard her end of the conversation and also couldn't believe this. He tried to embrace her but she became angry at the injustice of it. She then said she had to get back to Mexico to be with the others.

Por Amar Sin Ley, Season 2 Martes 4/30/19, Episode 35: Thy Will Be Done

I'm Christopher Mason. The only true democratic force in the world is death. It comes to everyone and it doesn't care whether it is fair or not. Living wills have been around for a while but not everyone can take the responsibility of carrying them out any more than others can take responsibility for provoking the death in the first place.

I'm Candice DeLong. Death doesn't discriminate and it is frequently premature. Especially when it results from violence.

Carlos told Ricardo to fight for Alejandra's life. He then left quietly, leaving Ricardo to think about it.

Por Amar Sin Ley, Season 2 Viernes 4/26/19, Episode 33: Sleeping Booty Awakes

[Note: Some scenes combined or omitted altogether because nothing. freaking. happened.]

Bufete Vega, Part I:

The evidence from the shooting is in, and it's super-confusing. Well, it's a little confusing, but the lawyers manage to make it way more confusing. Ballistics says that the shots were fired from both inside and outside the club, and the getaway vehicle in the video doesn't match the one that disgorged the killers of Gustavo's family and that Ale later followed to the site of Jaime's kidnapping. Is there one gang or two? Was Alejandra a target or just collateral damage? As usual, the Vegans manage to leave the information swap-meet somehow knowing less than they did going in.

TOHIMC, Part I:

The doctors withdraw Alejandra's sedation and she doesn't immediately croak, which cheers everyone up immensely. When Ricardo starts getting repetitive with all the te amo's and mi vida's, she can't take it any more and wakes up and agrees to marry him. He rips off his mask and covers her with unsanitary kisses, conscientiously putting it back on as he exits. I think they need to print the instructions bigger on those things.

Paula & Jaime rush Ale for a group hug. She parrots back all the love talk, but she looks kind of annoyed, like maybe she'd hoped to wake up on another show. (But now that she's conscious, can everybody go home and shave, please? It looks like the Waiting Room of Sierra Madre in there.)
