Cuna de Lobos, Capitulo 2 Martes 10/22/19: Achilles' Heel

Everyone has their weaknesses, no matter who they are. The key to protecting yourself is never to trust anyone to know them. High society – or what passes for it these days – is just as much a minefield as the corporate world or a war one. In our tale no one knew this better than Catalina Creel. Yet eventually someone will know hers. Only her arrogance protects her from knowing this. – D.D.

Catalina returned to her office in the dark, the middle of the night. It was the perfect atmosphere for her to review her thoughts. When one kills for the first time, one is afraid. But when one learns to do it precisely, afterwords one feels nothing.

El Dragón #16, 10/21/19: Evasions

Miguel and Adele continued to run down the bridge. Howard tried to follow them in his car, calling the police as he did so. Miguel and Adele ducked into a parking facility and took off in a car as soon as the sirens started.

Vlad of Novotech was being threatened with the end of his daughter's life.

Paula told Vlad off in the belief that his product was inferior. She then addressed a crowd and talked about the Grace prototype.

The chase continued. Adele drove past Howard, waving to him rather than flipping him the bird. That got his dander up.

Cuna de Lobos Lunes 10/21/19 Gran Estreno: Augustus Falls

Romulus and Remus were suckled by the same she-wolf. This was not true of José Carlos and Alejandro Larios and not because they were not twins. While they shared a father they had different mothers. Gloria, the first wife of Carlos, was the mother of José Carlos who accutely felt her loss having been rejected by his stepmother, a one-time Circe named Catalina Creel.
It has been some time since I've brought you tales of those who think themselves gods or at the very least above all rules of society. They see money less as evidence of status than as a means to any end they seek. It is the one commodity that is universally understood as well as desired. – D.D.

Late one night in Acapulco Carlos Larios struggled in the water as his wife, Catalina, radioed for help. “Help! Help! My husband fell overboard.” She heard him break the surface and struggle to breathe.

La Usurpadora - 1998 and 21 years later!

Hi LU Patio. On the heels of our recently concluded LU remake, I thought I’d do this post talking about the original LU and continue the discussion of some of the topics we touched on here throughout our whirlwind series!

Fun fact: La Usurpadora that aired in 1998 was one of the first novelas I watched. I lived outside of the United States back then and TNs were a rarity there, so this was one of my favorite ones for a long time. Graciously, my tastes have changed over the last couple of decades. Nonetheless it was such a great trip down the memory lane to remember the original LU over the past month with this great remake.

So without further ado, let’s take a look! Before we start though: A SPOILER WARNING. If you haven’t seen LU 1998, but are planning to watch it, this post will contain some plot spoilers, so maybe avoid it until you have a chance to catch up with the original.

El Dragon #15, 10/18/19: The Not So Amazing Race or Tired Tires

We left Chisca on the point of an overdose and Miguel looking at Adela, as if to question her loyalty, after finding the bugged pen at the end of last night's episode.

Today we start with Valentin trying to wake Chisca up. But rather than try to revive her when she is unresponsive, or take any emergency action, he gets dressed and bails! What a coward!! I can think of other more appropriate words, but not sure how G rated this needs to be.  Jorge sees Valentin leave the pool house and finds Chisca unconscious and immediately tries to help. He calls Angel to come for Chisca. I am unsure why he calls Angel first and not just an ambulance.

La Usurpadora - Capitulo 25 (Finale) - And then everyone lived happily ever after…except for all of those who didn’t.

Well all good things must come to an end, and what end it was – happy, sad, bewildering, at times beanie requiring, but fiery and original, much like the series. So let's get to it one last time.

Carlos starts out his day fending off the press, as he tries to get into his car. Pascual, who must get triple pay for all these extra shifts he is pulling lately, is right there to tell the press that no questions will be answered and to help Carlos get into the car. Carlos goes to the office and finishes the conversation with Gema, where they plan his resignation announcement. Gema is hurt that she is not the one he is choosing as a life partner, but wishes him well.

El Dragón #14, 10/17/19: In The Nick Of Time...Or Not.....

Guajolote is waiting outside the hotel across the street as earlier planned, gun in hand, ready to shoot Date Rape Dude, aka Valentin, pass Go, and collect his 20, 000 pesos.  However, just as he's about to do the deed he gets a look at Chisca looking worriedly in his direction.  She maneuvers herself between Val and Guajo's gun.  Guajo cannot shoot as she pushes Val into the lobby and has him take her to his room.

Somewhere along the line between dinner with his sister and Valentin, Miguel has managed a date with Jimena.  He's giving her a lift home; she explains she's trying to seduce him and lays a sizzling long liplock on him.  He smiles enigmatically and replies she's enticing, but he's not looking for love in his life ever again; they work with each other, and she is engaged to Cesar, right? Yep, but let her be the one to play dangerously.....  She slithers out of the car and into her building.
