Amor Bravío #48 (Uni 43) Fri 10/19/12 There’s More Competition for Camila’s Marriage Bed and Multiple Milliones de Dolares: Could Cam Have A New Secret Admirer?
Cap 48
Lo Del Pasado:
Mariano’s mama, Rocio, tries to enlist his
daddy to help her dissuade him from getting involved with Camila Monterde. However, the look she and Nana share is
rather telling--so Viewerville can assume there’s more to her dislike of Camila
for Mariano than her becoming a divorcee, especially since there was a time,
according to hubby Cayetano, that she used to rave about Don Daniel’s fine
qualities despite his being divorced; Amanda has decided to have D’Andres talk
Natalia into leaving her job at La Malquerida to avoid any further contact with
her daddy, the deceitful and dastardly bastardo de Dionisio, aka Amanda’s former
husband, alias Hector Gutierrez; and D’Andres informs Dio that there was no
hurt bull for Cam to tend to and that according to one of the cowhands there, a
female guest asked him to tell Cam there was a hurt bull, and then got into a
fancy dark grey sedan. He mentions that
when he went to look for Cam per Dio’s instructions, there was an open pen and
a healthy bull was standing nearby. Dio
knows instantly that it had to be… Isssadora!!
Lo Del Nuevo:
At Hacienda La Malquerida, Ximeana learns from
Agustina that her sis has made it through the night. (Tough tootsie-claws, you
Isadora wana-be!!) Debby Downer tells Mama
to prepare for the worst instead and stop kidding herself. Gussie tells her to nix the Negative Nellie trash
talk. She also mentions that Alonso
secretly left a flower on Cami’s pillow last night and has shown how much he
truly loves Camila despite their marital problems. Ximeana’s impish grin does a speedy 180. She tells
Mama she doesn’t believe Alonso did anything of the sort --but we know she
certainly means to find out and fast! Gussie insists she saw the flower with her own
eyes and then goads Xi into joining her at the hospital. Xi says she’ll go on ahead and meet her
there.
Meanwhile, Leoncio’s on the phone griping to
Not-So-Lonesome-Lonnie about D’Andres having seen him off Julian. He’s afraid D’Andres will blackmail him or
turn him into the police. Lonso tells
him to fageddabowdit since D’Andres is a double-agent and really works for
Dionisio. “—If he went looking for
Julian’s stuff and found them in your room it was with orders from
Dionisio!” Leo asks if Dio knows he
killed Julian then also. (Duh, yeah!) ‘Lonso loses patience and tells Leo to
make do with knowing he not on Dionisio’s enemies’ list and to keep the heck
out of D’Andres’ way--cuz Leo doesn’t want to make an enemy out of the guy if
he’s smart. In the meantime, promises
‘Lonso, he will find a way to get D’Andres to stop working there.
Nat tells Daniel there’s no way she wants to
leave the M.Q., no matter what her mother wants. Dan doesn’t understand her mother’s sudden
attitude change either and promises not to force her off the place. He promises to try to pacify her mother for
her since she is not in danger working there at the ranch.
At the same time, El Gettin’-Lucky-Lately de Lonnie
gets a visit from his lady love, Xi, having made a quick deter while on her way
to the hospital. (Cam can wait!) She is pissed as hell at the way that he
shamelessly shows his love for Camila by leaving a flower on her pillow in the
middle of the night, while still shagging her on the side! ‘Lonslow is a bit puzzled cuz he doesn’t know
the first thing about what she’s bitching him out about. It then suddenly hits the two of them that
Camila must have a secret lover. “--No
wonder she was so quick and eager to replace you! She has somebody else!” Cara de cuckold de Lon the Loser.
At the hospital now, Mariano, Pablo, Rafael
and Viviana are all waiting by Cami’s bed.
Pablo, it seems, has had the only match for Camila’s rare RH negative
blood type. (Possible Secret Family Tree
Branching Alert!) On his way out to
return home, Mariano assures Rafa and Viv that he will be bypassing Alonso
while continuing to manage the ranch for Cami.
He’ll get his info from Nat and that’ll be that. No way he’ll let Lonnie the Loser intimidate
him, if that’s what they’re worried about.
Back at the townhouse, Lon is pissed at being
shoved out of his prestigious position at the M.Q. for some lover of
Camila’s. Xi says her sister has been
playing the victim all this time and yet is nothing but a two-timing
hypocrite! “--She’s such a prude nobody
would have ever believed she could do something improper [indebido].” They agree it has to be one of the two new
guys she’s gotten to be friends with: either Rafa or Mariano. Alonso feels like he’s been cheated on, but
Ximeana reminds him Cam is only his wife on paper. His real wife, or rather, “his woman”, at this point is Ximeana! He tells Xi he’d feel worse if it turns out
to be Mariano and explains a guy’s ego still feels trashed at times like these,
anyway. (Boo-hoo. Pardon me while I wipe my drippy nose—not!!)
Rafa is having deep and morose thoughts now about
Mariano being in love with Cam and apparently she’s been confiding quite a bit
to the dude. Viv repeats some sage-ism I
can’t begin to translate, but I think it means if it’s not your turn or if it’s
not your time and place it’s not gonna happen, or if it happens, then it
happens and either way you’ve got no choice in the matter. He says yeah, that it’s difficult to face
reality and deal at times. She agrees
and says like her and Bruno. He keeps turning
up like a bad centavo. In fact, he
followed her there to the hospital today.
At La Buenaventura, Rocio complains to Nana
that she can’t understand how she was always able to keep her kids far away
from Don Daniel while he lived. Now that
he’s dead they are closer than ever. Nana
offers that life has a way of playing dirty tricks on people. Rocio shakes her head. She was able to pretend all these years that
she was indifferent towards Daniel; she even cried about his death in
silence. Who’d have thought that the
tribute for him would have brought the two families together, she tells
Nana. She was so happy when Camila got
married, but now? Her secret, she fears,
may soon come to light.
Rafa’s glad to hear that Viv didn’t allow
herself to be humiliated or intimidated [amedrentarse] this time. He agrees to do what Aaron suggested and to move
back into her apartment with her. Viv
tells him she doesn’t want him to feel obligated. He says he doesn’t and that he would rather
be there to protect her; he sort of likes them being together. They hug.
Hisssadora arrives at Dio’s and demands to
know what was so urgent she had to fly right over there. He demands to know why she tried to kill
Camila.
Gussie and D’Andres arrive at the
hospital. Vivi tells Gussie that Xi
hasn’t arrived yet and Gussie wonders what’s up with that crazy kid of hers. D’Andres
asks about blood donations and Vivi explains that Pablo was already able to
donate his blood since he had Cam’s specific blood type. Rafa and D’An decide to go to the lab anyway and
ask if they need more donations. The doc
comes out and tells Gussie and Viv that Cami did well with the blood
transfusion and should be regaining consciousness soon. Gussie gets permission to go in and see her.
Meanwhile, Dio reads the riot act to
Hisssadora. If she ever tries to harm
Camila again she and her son will regret ever having been born!!! “—Are you
finished yet?” (Isssa, I wouldn’t take what he says so lightly. This guy’s connected, you know what I mean?) Isa tries lying her way out of it, saying
what would she have to gain by killing her DIL.
She’s divorcing her son anyway, right?
Not so fast, says Dio. He’s still
married to her and could fight for her property. Oh, sure, says Isssa. Heck, she may even have a will; “—er…pshaw… I
don’t even know even that there is one, come to think of it.” Dio isn’t buying that truck load of muck. He grabs her by the arms and starts shaking
her. (He’s so angry he’s actually making
my tv screen vibrate.) “—Oh, there is
and you well know it--and don’t you even try to deny it!! I followed you to some notary’s office in the
city. You brought it to him. You are
feeding me a bunch o’ baloney [patraña= er… the polite term here being
literally, humbug. However, I prefer the vernacular translation of ‘bullshit!!’]. No, if Camila had a will drawn up she would
have gone to Becerra to have it done, not to some unknown notary in the city
somewhere. You’ve got something planned
and I want to know what it is!! Tell me!! TELL.
ME!!”
Isssa’s head is rolling around on her
shoulders like a rag doll’s. “--Alright
already!!! I drew up a fake will stating
Alonso would get all her property and possessions.” She thought this would help her and Al
negotiate with Daniel for possession of the M.Q., she adds. Dio screams at her to explain why she did it
behind his back! She screams back
because he wouldn’t help her kill Camila!!
“—You’re getting too involved with her and are losing your
objectivity! With her out of the way it
would make it easier to achieve our objective!!
Got it?” (This broad would have been deadly as a general on a
battlefield, or as somebody’s mouthpiece in a courtroom. Too bad she never went to law school!)
Back at the hospital, Dan explains to Rafa
that he thinks he’s spread enough seeds of doubt around to get Dio suspicious
of Isssa and Al so that they’ll start to argue with each other and to mistrust
each other. Sooner or later they’ll
start making mistakes and eventually Cam will see through them and realize
they’ve been the ones responsible for all her troubles. Rafa agrees.
He mentions that he’s moving back in with Viv and actually wants to take
care of her and to protect her. He’s
developed a lot of affection for her and once Cam’s better he plans on
explaining his motives for his decision.
Meanwhile, Issa reminds Dio the kind of woman
Cami is and says she’d never fall for the man who’s been dating her
mother. Dio guffaws. “—I wouldn’t be so
sure of that.” “—Well, I would. You want the whole package, but you aren’t
gonna get it.” Dio threatens again. She tells him to get over himself. He doesn’t want her acting on her own, Well. She won’t. He reminds her that those outbursts of hers
only succeed in destroying the team effort and it’s only team unity that gives
them strength. (Uh, ok.)
Back at the hospital, Cami starts talking in
her sleep. Gussie hears her say, “I love
Andres. Andres…..”
Irene tells Pablo and Tolentino that because
Luzma was raped she felt too unworthy and humiliated to marry Pablo. Pablo wants to find out who it was but Irene
can’t discuss it with her again and has only told them because she felt she
could trust them. They’ll have to find
out on their own somehow.
The doctor tells Gussie that it’s normal to
confuse things while dreaming, and if Cami mentioned Andres, it was because he
was the last person she remembered is all.
But, the good thing is that if she’s talking unconsciously, it is a good
sign she’s on the way to recovery.
(Happy, happy! Joy, joy!)
The new padre tells Piedad that Luzma hasn’t
any true vocation for becoming a nun.
Besides, a girl who thinks to get married in secret doesn’t change her
mind over night and suddenly decides she’s joining the convent. “—Some think of becoming a nun as a type of
punishment.” Piedad has to process
for a while. “—Padre, do you
know something I don’t?” He tells her
the only thing he can suggest is for her to question and investigate herself to
arrive at the truth. (Damn, I hate these
vagueries. Hard enough on me, but for
poor Piedad? Talk about
head-scratching.)
Finally Ximeana arrives at the hospital and Gussie
gives her grief for being so late. Xi
lies and says she got lost and didn’t have a cell (just in case any of you were
interested.) Gussie tells them all that Cam’s talking in
her sleep, but at least she’s talking now and that means she’s getting
better. Cara de relief de D’An. He’s dismissed to go back to the rancho.
Back at the M.Q., Luzma’s cutting up corn for lunch. (Cringe alert!) In walks her disgusting turd of a Tío Leo. He
tries making advances. She threatens him
with the carving knife. “—Don’t come near me!!”
He mocks her and asks if she’s really going to stick him with it. She hasn’t got it in her. No, she’ll do whatever he tells her to and
whenever he’s a mind to. Nat walks in on
the two of them in this very compromising position; but Leo lies and says
they’re joking around, right? (Skin crawl alert!) From the look on Luzma’s face it seems Nat
wouldn’t bet her last plug nickel on it.
Leo wipes a tear off Luzma’s face and she recoils in total disgust. (That move of his truly made my skin
crawl!! I wanted to do a little slice ‘n
dice right then and there, myself!) He
shuffles away. Nat tries to quickly move
out of his way.
Once the
perverted prick is out of the room, Luzma loses all control and cries boatloads
on Nat’s shoulders. Nat tries to get at
the truth and asks if he’s done something to her. Luzma only continues to cry. So, Nat tries getting through to her and
suggests that since she and D’Andres are good friends and there’s no love lost
between those two, she should trust him enough to tell him. “--He is the only one who can put Leoncio in
his place.”
In the
meantime over coffee with Rafa in the cafeteria, Xi tries getting the goods on him and/or Mariano as possible candidates for Cami's secret lover. She brings up Cami’s supposedly dumping on
Alonso only because she’s already got another lover and says she figures it’s
either him or Mariano. Yes, Rafa admits,
he’s definitely interested in her sister, but Cami’s not the kind of woman who
bed-hops or who takes a lover lightly.
As for Mariano, no, he’s definitely not the mystery man Xi’s looking to
nail and he isn’t either. Cara de
crap-on-that-goody-two-shoes-sister-of-mine-and-who-is-it-then? de
Ximeana.
In the
waiting room, Gussie and Viv discuss Alonso’s supposedly lovingly leaving a
flower on Cami’s bed last night and the fact that Isadora asked her if Camila
had a will. She thought it rather out of
place and it bothered her since Cami had told her Alonso had married her for
her money. No, it is odd and out of
place, agrees Gussie, but she’s certain that Alonso really loves her daughter. After all, he did leave a flower on her
pillow last night. Viv didn’t expect
that one, she says. Cami doesn’t have a will.
Gussie tells her, so she’s going to talk to Lic. Becerra about that
right away.
Back at
Amanda’s B&B, Dan’s having a snack and chatting in the kitchen with his
mama’s old BFF. Dan asks why Amanda
hasn’t gone to the hospital to see Cami.
She finally is forced to come clean and admits that Dionisio Ferrer is
her ex-husband who she and Nat fled from years ago. She begs him then to make sure that he doesn’t find out and that he
stays the heck away from Nat.
Across
town in the condo, Isa tells Alonso that she had no choice but to admit the
truth to Dio and she’s mad as hell about it, too. Al, for his part, is sick to death of the
whole thing and wishes he was a million miles away from there already. Hisssa has another
hissyfit. “—And leave Camila and all those millions to
Dionisio Ferrer? Over my
dead body!! Never!!” Not to worry, says
Lonnie Boy. Cami’s never going to be
Dio’s. “--She’s got a lover.” Oh well,
that’s a horse of a different color. That
should work to their advantage, says Hisssa.
They can drag her reputation through the dirt and come out smelling like
a rose, playing the victimized (and take a bundle from her while they’re at it).
Dan tells
Amanda he understands her need to make Nat leave the M.Q., but he’ll make sure
she doesn’t get involved with Dio.
Speaking of the Devil, Dan takes a call from Dio just then. Dio wants him to gain access to all Cami and
Rafa’s e-mails so that he can get a hold of Daniel Diaz Acosta’s whereabouts
and/or his email address. D’Andres
assures him he’ll take care of it for him.
Back at La Buenaventura, Pablo confides to
Mariano that Luzma was raped. Mariano is
incensed and demands they report this S.O.B. to the police!! Pablo says he agrees, but she won’t say who
it was and doesn’t trust anybody around her.
He needs Mariano’s help in getting close to her and regaining her trust.
Piedad prays to the virgencita for guidance
regarding Luzma. El Lecher de Leo walks
in on her. She tells him she’s worried
because Padre Anselmo won’t take Luzma as a novice since he feels she hasn’t a
true calling. Leo laughs and says good
thing and get that silly notion of becoming a nun out of her head. She’s not leaving this ranch. Her place is with him…er the both of
them. Piedad says well, he’s got another
think coming. If Luzma wants to go far
away then she’s going to do what she can to support her decision. “—What do you think of that, huh!” She walks out of the kitchen and the ol’
pervertido de Leo is drop-jaw impactado that Piedad would have dared to cross
him like that.
At the hospital, Xi and Gussie get word that
Cami’s being transferred out of intensive care.
Dio is screaming at somebody on the phone in
the hospital parking garage that he needs something immediately.
Across town, Isssa calls her attorney and
wants somebody found for her.
Dio meets up with Xi and Gussie in the lounge
and gets word that Cami’s out of danger.
Meanwhile, Rafa and Dan arrive in time for
din-din with Vivi. Rafa’s lending an
older laptop to Daniel since Dio needs him to do some things on it for him and
he can’t afford his own. Vivi mentions
that the gossip is that Cami has a secret lover, that he left a flower on Cami’s
pillow, but that Gussie thinks it was Alonso that left her the flower. Dan admits then, a bit sheepishly, that it
was him that left her the flower. He
agreed that he’d avoid giving in to his feelings for her, but well, he was
unable to control himself. (I think that’s
what he mumbled. No CC at this point.) Caras de pissed-off de Rafa and Vivi.

Max arrives to ask Vicky for ‘the works’ personalized spa treatment at penthouse, cost is non-issue. Vicky not happy about it.
Fancy Hospital in the D.F. It is a beautiful girl!! Gagme not happy… get her away!
Lo Nuevo:
Connie is having tea with the older witches, Julie undermines Luci’s baby as ‘nada que ver’ while she praises Gagme’s new baby girl. RE comments that she never even met Luci’s baby boy(liar!!), nothing to write home about, white, black hair, big eyes… Julie says Gala’s baby looks like Rod, and Luci’s baby looks like her. Connie says if thst is so Luci’s baby must have been beautiful. She notes Julie is a bit anxious. She claims she is interviewing potential nannies for the baby.
At hospital, Rod is able to carry this child of his, calls her ‘little princess’. SO glad to have you in my arms. Daddy loves ya… (cries)… know you have a little bro called Rodrigo? And I swear… I swear to you that one day you will meet him… (kisses baby on forehead)… looks up determined…
Pato in therapy again, Janah runs in to tell him Rod’s baby was born. Pato can’t go with her to see her, have to meet Luci at office, but will go see her tomorrow. Janah will take picture of baby to send him. Janah leaves, Pato is sad, even drops the therapy ball… ‘Rod must be happy’. Jorge asks about Luci’s baby investigation. Nothing. Two months have gone and no clue where he is.
At TL Manor, Frigida and Mati in kitchen… each takes the marketing propaganda they have us used to. Frigida comments she is in talks with Gagme and Julie about working for them. Mati says but isn't Gagme going to hire a nanny and two nurses to care for the baby? ah! then you will be HER nanny. Frigida tells Mati ‘it shows you were never happy since you were a kid’.
At TL offices, Aldo reports his expenses to Max, including a ‘carrito’, a working tool. ‘an active circulante’… LOL!!
Oscar comes in and Aldo takes his exit before he gets yelled at. Oscar congratulates Max on the birth of baby granddaughter.
Oscar brings him report that the investigators have so far. They are almost certain that the baby must still be alive, since around that time there was no report of a dead baby found.
Don Chelo is singing again (sorry don’t know the name of the song… that one that sounds funi, funi funi culaaaa…) Talks to Mateo, while hanging the rags/cloth diapers on a clothes line inside his hut because it is about to rain outside, washing the soiled diapers too… Baby Rod is much bigger looking now, pretty accurate for 2 mos old (but a 2 mos well fed baby… so Don Chelo must have gone out of his way to feed and treat him right)
Vio, Luci and Selene show Lore and Fabian the site for their new business ‘Curvas Continuas’ (continuous/neverending curves)…
At Het Het… at the work shop in Magda’s house, things look good, Namurachi is saying all they need now is to work on motivating the women to come work and learn… Namu asks about Luci… very sad, but she won’t loose faith. Namu is always praying for her. How is Paz? On her way home. … Hopefully Luci will make it home too. Namu wants to thank her personally for everything she has done for the women. Magda says thanks to you too since you have taken over and done so much for the women around here.
Don Aq comes in, and Magda is as bitter with him as always… He asks how is Luci and her baby… Magda won’t believe his concern is honest. Want me to believe you are worried about Luci?... Don Aq insults Magda’s character… she keeps sermoning about he never cared for Vio… Don Aq does not want her to mix apples and oranges. Ariche comes in asking for Luci and baby. Don Aq leaves after shouting that if he does not do more for Luci it is for Magda’s attitude toward him… Magda takes Ariche to get a drink.
Janah, Aldo and Melissa come to the hospital to meet the baby girl. Julie lies to her toes saying Gala is sooooo happy to have her baby. RE pulls Julie aside saying Gala has to change her attitude, Everyone else already noticed how ‘not into it’ she is about her daughter. Julie says it is not so serious, just post-partum stuff. RE says she does not know about that, but Rod’s birth was the biggest happy moment in her life and Max’s life. Then when Janah was born it was the final piece to solidify their marriage. Julie cannot stay quiet and says ‘of course, I can imagine! Your marriage is such an exemplary marriage’ (LOL!! This whole exchange is so funny) RE looks at her like a warning.
Vicky arrives at Max’ new apt… he welcomes her, she has an attitude, she did not come to do what he expects, she just came because he wanted to talk, so talk!... Max taken aback.
At Gala’s hospital room, Connie and her kids are there to see the kid. Connie is carrying the baby. Melissa asks permission to take a picture. Gala says sure but not really interested. Aldo comments ‘uy! How moved/emotional!’ Gala claims she is ‘tired’ but not nicely. Rod says our baby is beautiful. Gala says ‘yes I know, it was logical to be so)’. Rod asks Gala to carry the baby. Gala says no, better put her in the crib, I am tired and in pain. Aldo again comments ‘how motherly!’ to which he gets a rolling eyes from Melissa. (But even though Melissa rolled her eyes at Aldo, both Rod and Connie also looked at Gala a bit surprised/deflated when she responded she did not want to carry her). After a while… the conversation gets around the name they will give the baby girl. Aldo asks about ‘Galita’. Gala undermines that, it is not fashionable anymore nowadays. When the visitors leave, Gala nags about it being a bad custom for people to visit her the very day she has a surgery… Rod claims she is not sick, but she repeats she is not feeling well, don’t want visits… Rod says the baby is biting at his finger. She says call the nurse to feed her. Rod surprised Gala is not planning to feed her herself.
‘ Not in your dreams, Rodrigo’. He is hurt … certainly we all know who will be the better parent here…
At TL office, Pato and Luci are in his office, he is glad she finally came to the office.
Pato receives a message. He gets Luci to help him with it… turns out it is the photo of the baby girl from Janah, Luci is instantly upset and Pato realizes it, he says that it is Rod’s baby girl, that Janah had told him she would send a picture. Luciana, with major difficulty to keep herself together, walks back in front of his desk and sits down, manages to say ‘she is very pretty’. Pato looks at her, not sure who looks more pained.
Luci assumes Rod must be very happy. But Pato knows better, so he tells her not to get like this, that even though Rod is happy for his daughter, for him to be completely happy they have to find his son.
Luci: Yes, my son. We have to find my son because my only consolation is to think that my son is being cared for well by good people who love him very much and treat him right. Right, Patricio? (Great acting here by both Zuria and Brandon).
At Max’s apt, he wants Vicky to stop the silly talk, she came to be with him… Vicky stands firm, he continues to try to convince him to get back with him as before. Vicky is not willing to turn back time… what she wants is to enjoy her youth, will find a man who cares for me and treats me right, who will treat me as I deserve, as a QUEEN!!!... Don’t even have time to see you regularly since Nicole gave her the admin of this estetica while she manages the other one… I even get a cut of the profits. She helped me without asking for anything in return. Max changes strategy saying this was a test of her to make sure she wanted to be with him for him, not for his money… Vicky is not buying what he is selling, she says time is gold, so you can keep the time I just wasted on you. After she leaves Max swears to himself that Vicky will be back begging him to take her back.
Lastra came to Estelita’s house. She won’t have any of what he is selling either… Estelita blames him for all the disgraces of Luci and then Lorenzo… he wanted to get them in jail with false accusations. She would never let her daughter have anything to do with him. He claims he is willing to change, to become another man, but need a chance to tell your daughter. Estelita pushes him out the door… He has one final plea… ‘for your daughter I found love’… to no avail, no sale at this door…
Janah calls Lorenzo asking for Luci… same … Janah tells him Rodrigo’s daughter was born… Lorenzo says if she looks like you she must be beautiful. Janah can’t help but blush at the compliment… Janah sends her greetings to Luci… Lorenzo repeats she is more than welcome to visit her anytime… Thanks… thank you for calling.. aaahhh love…
Pato on phone with Rod… Rod says he is happy, just as he was when he met his son over the phone sent picture… Pato tells Rod Luci was with him when he received the pic from Janah and Luci was very upset by it. Rod asks how can I be happy when she is suffering so… Pato tells him what Luci said, that she would only find her happiness when she gets her son back. Rod knows it. And he swears to Pato he will find it and give it to Luci, even if it is the last thing he does. Pato says I hope so, both of you deserve to have your son…. Janah comes in smiling… Came to say good night. Tells Pato she called Lorenzo. He teases her her mom will find out. Then about her saying ‘no tiene nada de malo’ (there is nothing wrong with that (calling Lorenzo) [or the alternate meaning with him (Lorenzo)]…then about Janah saying ‘Lorenzo is VERY well/fine’ (which could mean healthwise or hunkwise) Just then comes the witch they were worrying/joking about… none other than the wicked witch of the East who somehow avoided Dorothy’s house from flattening her like a pancake. RE asks Pato why he did not come to the hospital to meet his niece. Pato says I prefer to wait and meet her at their apartment. RE says don’t know why since she is the firstborn of your brother. (Pato just looks down, but Janah comments that the first born of Rod was Luci’s baby.). RE keeps on demeaning/not recognizing Luci’s baby as Rod’s firstborn…Ah! Luci’s baby… that poor angelito surely must be in heaven… (Pato takes offense with this) Mama… I am sure Luci’s baby is alive somewhere. And we will find him. RE keeps lying up her rearview side saying she has been praying for him, may God protect him wherever he is.
Pato just rolls his eyes and looks away. Same with Janah.
At TL offices, Aldo gets summoned again to see Max. He is worried it is another issue with his expense report… but no, Max wants Aldo to do some errands for him. Just follow the instructions I give you tomorrow. You just show up in my name, they will know how to deal with you… Btw, I am very well pleased with your attitude as of late. Btw, did you break up with Vicky? …. She broke up with me… that is not what you both said at the restaurant. … Fine, just do what I tell you tomorrow.
At hospital, Dr says they might go tomorrow. Gala seems to want to spend another week at nurse scout torture camp… Julie says no way, better to spend the night at a luxury hotel than at a hospital! It would even be cheaper!.. (even Gagme is gagging.. GAH!!!) Doctor smirks at the comment but continues on… you let me know then. Doc takes his leave. Rod goes with him. Julie is in disbelief that Gagme wants to stay… Gagme says I want Rod’s attention… Julie insists Gagme needs to pay more attention to her daughter since she is the passport/gateway to the TL inheritance. And now that she is born, you should start insisting in Rod getting a living will.. and you listen to me, from this point forward you do whatever Rod says… Gala turns away not liking that piece of the marching orders…
Rod and Gagme’s friends are out in waiting room… they are not in a hurry to get married.. Fer is not in a hurry to take role of housewife and mother… Vale is in disbelief that Gagme would be a 24/7 mother. .. Just at this moment Rod comes out and says ‘yes Valentina… it will be so, at least until the baby is 3 y.o., then will go to school and Gagme would go back to the office. Rod tells his friends he will spend the night with Gala. Vale says the baby looks like Rod, the prettiest of the whole nursery. Julie comments that her granddaughter will never call her ‘abuela’, just ‘Julie’… (GAHHH!!!) Rod says he will go the apt for clothes and will be back. But will leave very early in the morning, have a meeting at the office and will be back later in the day in case she is released. (not exactly what Gagme had in mind, is it?)
At her apartment, Luci is on phone with Claudio… she is about to go to sleep. Doorbell rings. It is Rod (who else??) She lets him in. She gets anxious asking if there are news on her son… Rod says unfortunately not. But you know Claudio and I will not rest until there are. Luci notes it has been 67 days with no news on my son. Rod says more than 1600 hours… (he can do math too)… He says Pato told him she met his daughter. Luci says yes she is beautiful, then she gets paranoic/startled, begging Rod to never take his eyes off his daughter because otherwise something could happen to her… Rod approaches Luci and comforts her.…Rod swears to Luci he will never stop looking for ‘OUR’ son. NEVER!… He is also my son. He is OUR son. And believe me I am fighting with all my heart so I would not have to see you like this, so I would not have to see the sorrow in your eyes. (he hugs her).
Don CHelo is with Mateo tapping off his gasses. He holds his drink bottle, tells him he has not had a drop of alcohol in two months, still fighting the temptation… HE puts Mateo back in his wooden basket stroller(baby Mateo barely fits in it anymore)… he has something important to do…. He grabs the bottle… cheers!... and drinks the whole bottle. (OUCH!!)
At TL manor, Frigida begs RE to let her go out for a while. RE wants her to wait for the weekend. Frigida begs some more. RE gives in. ‘I even took a shower already!’ (LOVED the look on RE’s face at this final comment on Frigida). RE and Mati find it strange that Frigida has to go out.
RE is heading to the hospital. Mati will wait until they are back in the apartment to meet the baby.
At street sidewalk Chelo is doing his act and passing the hat for the coins. Some old woman is nagging about him doing this on the street and having the baby beside him. Chelo defends himself saying he has to get some money to survive and support the baby… The ladies notice his breath smells of alcohol and they comment he should be reported to the authorities.
Padre Honesto visits Luci. He owed her a visit for a long time. HE wants to talk to her. Luci upset tells Padre that it has been two months and no news on her son. Not a hint. She keeps trying. But she can’t take it, and she confesses her faith buckles at times. Padre says it is normal for her to weaken. Luci says I lost it. I can’t stop thinking that if I had not left that clinic my son would be with me!! Padre keeps telling her not to torment herself. Luci asks what mother would do that?? Padre reminds her even Virgin Mary lost her son for three days, and found him. That Jesus prepared her for his redemption, for our salvation. Think that even the Virgin Mary went through this and suffered very much. Maybe through your suffering you could help more people.. (now I see Luci and Rod starting a foundation to help find lost kids by the FIN). Luci nods in agreement.
RE and Genaro in the white SUV almost run into CHelo and the stroller… RE is yelling at Chelo and standing right by Mateo… she takes one look at Mateo and freezes. (this baby must remind her of baby Luci because RE is frozen in her tracks)
Chelo yells at RE to let him get off the road, there are cars waiting to go by. RE keeps on yelling at him, Viejo bruto!! And that the authorities should take the baby from him. RE gets back in car and Chelo takes Mateo away saying ‘don’t mind this old hag woman’.
RE is at church looking for Padre Honesto. The monaguillo/altarboy tells her Padre left. RE calls Padre. He tells her I am with Luci, don’t wait for me. RE is not happy to hear that. Padre keeps encouraging Luci to pray and wait… hope is wishing it will happen, faith is believing it will happen and courage is to make it happen. (very nice scene)
.
At CHelo’s hut… he tells Dona Chuy about his meeting with the ill-intentioned women.
That the ladies said he uses the baby to inspire pity… and that RE and her chofer almost ran them over and RE even insulted him over that! And that RE would not stop staring at Mateo… The baby is so ‘chulo’ that he calls a lot of attention. Chuy notices Chelo stinks of alcohol. Chelo whines that he does not have to change his lifestyle for the baby. He can turn it into the authorities. Chuy asks if you were not going to change, why did you keep him?? Borracho!! … She leaves, Chelo warns Mateo that he will turn him in…
Mateo is crying loudly, Chelo grabs another bottle, but then looks at Mateo and seems to stop drinking.
Previews: Luci tells Claudio she wants to help the street kids (I knew it!!)
RE tells someone she just saw a baby on the street and it looked like Luci’s baby.
Chuy warns Chelo: Either you care for the baby or you turn him in the authorities!

Abismo de pasión #151 10/19/12: Gall, Eliar and Dam Adorable Go on a Date without Palobotomy
Sorry the post is so late. Some of this may not be a part of the first 10 minutes of the show, but I included it anyway. I will be back on line tonight (PST) if anyone would like to chat. I have to do homwork at Barnes and Noble. P.S. This is long and has not been editted yet.
Elisa wants Don Lucio to ask the lawyer to draw up some paperwork for her partnership with Looks Hella Dam Gorgeous in Black (I tried not to lick the screen, but I was unsuccessful). Don Lucio is elated! He knows that she’s only doing this because she’s in love with Damien and doesn’t want to see him go down in flames. Elisa agrees, but she would also like to see Alfonsina drop dead of heart failure when she learns that Castanon-Bouvier is part owner of her precious procesadora.
Hacienda Arango: Damien tells Alfonsina that he’s found an investor. Alfonsina wants to know where the money is coming from. Dam gives her a cryptic answer about recovering something that he lost long ago. Dam Fine tells his mother to stay out of the company’s business. He’s in charge now and any decision that he makes is to keep the company out of bankruptcy. Alfonsina points out that it’s a family company and she doesn’t want any riffraff involved. Dam excuses himself by saying that he has to take a shower (Please let there be a shirtless scene! Please let there be a shirtless scene!). Dam’s got plans tonight! Alfonsina doesn’t appreciate being abandoned. Dam offers to hire a nurse or a male escort (I don’t make this stuff up, folks! OK, maybe I do…so what’s it to ya?) so that she won’t be alone. Dam says that he has a right to have a life outside of these walls. Alfonsina says that she needs her baby. She wants to know who he’s going out with. Elisa is his date, he says and he plans on marrying her. Get used to it, sister. Alfonsina says that if that ever happens she will make Elisa’s life hell. If what she did before wasn’t making Elisa's lifehell, I don’t want to see her definition of hell. Goodness.

Por ella soy Eva #68 10/19/12: In which someone finally spells it out for Fernando and Santi. With apples.
It's time for everyone to hand in their reports, but Marcela's has mysteriously disappeared from her computer. I keep thinking that she will say "no problem, I saved a password-protected backup on the network [or on a flash drive or whatever] and/or I printed a bunch of copies and hid them in the ladies' room," because it would be so funny if her saboteur's plan could fall apart that fast. But Marcela does not have a backup or a printed copy. I am disappointed in her.
My disappointment turns out to be short-lived. Meanwhile, Renato offers to help Cindy collect the rest of the reports.

Weekend Discussion: Misogyny in Telenovelas
What is it really about and will it every go away?
Alas,
even in the 21st century we are still dealing with
misogyny in our entertainment, in business, and in our lives. It's
one of my biggest pet peeves in all of these and what is particularly
troubling is that so many telenovela authors are women (at least in
Mexico).
We'll
leave out discussion of novelas de epoca as they take place in eras
where women's legal rights were so much less than today and where
women's voices were completely ignored (although there were moments
in the 1993 Corazón Salvaje where we saw the seeds of
feminism in Mónica) and address contemporary stories, starting with
the ones currently airing. In Thursday's discussion of Amor
Bravío I listed the following examples of misogyny expressed by
women:

Amor Bravío #47 (Uni 42) Thu 10/18/12 Amor Suspendido
Aaron asks D'Andres what the plan is now, but he's basically stuck until Camila recovers. Aaron can't stay forever, so he figures he'll go back to Chiapas and come back when he's needed. He's not happy leaving Vivi alone with Bruno on the loose, but he's gotta recharge his peace battery. He thinks Rafa should move in while he's gone. D'Andres leaves them to that uncomfortable discussion.
Luzma is waiting in D'Andres' tossed room. Piedad sees her and asks what's up. Luzma says she was just waiting for a report on Camila. Piedad thinks D'Andres is a slob. She confronts Luzma about being expelled, but Luzma won't give her any answers.
Vivi's glad Aaron's looking out for her, but she doesn't want him coercing Rafa into moving in. She doesn't want to cramp Rafa's style in case he still has a chance with Camila. Aaron the yenta doesn't think Rafa has anything in common with Camila…now, Vivi, on the other hand…. Vivi thinks she needs to handle Bruno on her own and not let him get to her. Aaron says in the meantime, she needs to let them help. Vivi would love to run to Chiapas and start over, and Aaron would like that to, but he thinks major life decisions need to be made in calm and not out of fear. Vivi says it would have to wait in any case--Camila needs her right now.

Abismo de pasión #150 10/18/12: when serpents bargain for the right to squirm
Como dijo Marta: At la quinta… Carmina is making holes on the floor pacing around. Gabino gets a 34mm migraine from watching her and listening to her shouting. Carmina is getting paranoic that Horacio is alive and can tell all to the police. Gabino knows well if Horacio sings, they both can end up in jail… Gabino grunts in pain… Carmina tells him they have to find a solution..(continue working on the casualty list, what else??)
Lolita is crying a river at Lucio’s… Horacio comes around her and tells her ‘I did not do it, Lolita. I did not kill Padre Loopy’.
Lo Nuevo: Lolita begs Horacio not to hurt her. Her words wound him. He’s not capable of harming her. She doesn’t believe anything he says and lists his recent crimes, escaping from the police, faking his death, etc. “Hey, I did it all for you!” he swears, “To protect you.” She demands how could he have stabbed Padre Lupe in the back? How did that protect her?
Out in the plaza Braulio runs into Elisa and expresses his concern that the murderer Horacio has surfaced. He’s worried for Lolita. Elisa’s not so sure he’s the guy that killed Lupe. If he was the murderer why would he show up at Alfonsina’s with blood on his hands? Braulio’s got a theory or two but Elisa makes the “Hmmmmmm” face with her pointy chin in her hand. She’s not convinced. Nor does she seem at all concerned about Lolita. Meh, it’s not about her yet.

Por ella soy Eva #67 10/18/12: Don't Give In To Him 'Cause He Will Only Ask For More.
Rebeca is in Plutarco's office haranguing him again about getting married, and Pluto complains she is acting just like Antonia did. Rebeca reminds him of the incriminating video she has of him and that time is ticking away for him to marry her. Tick tock tick tock, she taunts him.
Fernando calls his pal Santiago to tell him he's late for work and an important meeting.
Rebeca is rattling off a list of personal chores for lackey Onesimo to do for her. She asks him if he told Pluto about her visit to Pluto's home, and when he says no she tells him she will repay his discretion. He misunderstands and she snaps at him to take his eyes off her body (she does have more curves than the Indy 500). Pluto calls Onesimo. Pluto thinks the video is a lie, but he wants Onesimo to go search for it just in case.
Everyone is at the big colorful table and Helena is reporting on the successes of the trip to Playa Majagua. First Eva, and then Pluto kvell about Helena's participation. Rebeca glowers. Adriano asks where Santiago is, and Fernando makes excuses for his buddy. Santiago bursts in apologizing, but Adriano doesn't want to hear apologies, he wants him at work on time. Renato wants his work situation defined for him, and makes the observation that a lot of the workers there don't know exactly what their job is. Eva is angry at this accusation, but Adriano agrees. Everyone looks worried.
Modesto is meeting with Eugenia's doctor, who is telling him about her prognosis. The doctor says that Eugenia's lack of activity and motivation have contributed to her illness. Modesto protests that he saw Eugenia happy being a mother. But her son is now dead, the doctor tells him. Modesto visits Eugenia in her room. She is not happy to see him and she reiterates what the doctor told him. Modesto took away her career as an actress and then took on a second family. "Now I am no longer anything," she flatly tells him.
OMG, it's taken Mousse Boy to point out that almost nobody at Grupo Imperio ever seems to do any work. Adriano wants everyone, from the assistants to the executives, to work on a report detailing what they do and what their aspirations are. He wants it first thing tomorrow morning, and he tells them their jobs depend this information. Eva tries to excuse Helena from this task but Helena is uncomfortable with this. Eva continues to object and Adriano looms over her to say that in all his years no one has been indispensable.
Onesimo searches Rebeca's apartment, and takes time out to enjoy a roll on her bed imaging the possibilities. He finds a camera in the bedroom and takes the disc out of it, cackling gleefully at what it might contain. Viewerville wonders if it's Pluto and Rebe's version of 'Finding Nemo' and just what that connotes.

Refugio Para el Amor #136 Thu 10/18/12 Luci Grieves, It Sucks To Be Rod, Lil Roddy is Baptized
Luci's Apartment of Faith and Hope:
There is little hope and faith right now in Luci's apartment. She is crying by her lil Roddy's crib, wanting forgiveness for lil Roddy being taken from her and she is desperately crying and wondering where her bebe is. She is depressed and greiving.
Rod and Gagme's Apartment of Hate and Gloom:
Rod has come home, tired and anxious and of course gets accosted by the screaming Mimi (Ed Note: When I lived in Florida the natives always talked about the screaming Mimis, the skeeters that is. Huge suckers and will suck you dry of blood well this is Gagme right on the money). Does she greet her husband lovingly, oh no, she is screaming about how he aint been home, he should have been with her cause she's sick and Julie and his Mama had to take care of her, when he is the one that should have taken care of her, as Anita said, ME , ME , ME, and after all she is six months pregnant with HIS bebe, and he tries to tell her of course, been looking for his other bebe, but that of course isn't her problem to deal with, and she tells him he is reponsible for everything that is going on. Sucks to be Rod. Note to Gagme: I hope the hounds of hell pursue you into the fiery lake of hell, that is, after your poor innocent bebe is born.
Luci's Apartment of Faith and Hope:
Luci is still crying by lil Roddy's crib, asking for forgivness and desolation is palatable in that room as she grips the crib and cries. Paz and Claudio come in to comfort her. Claudio asks her to go back and rest, she needs the rest and it isn't her fault. Claudio doesn't want her punishing herself. They are doing and will do anything they can to find Luci's bebe. They tell her to have faith and both have to hold her up as she cries and wants her bebe. She is totally desolate.
The Boxcar Barrio:
Dona Chuy is showing Don Chelo how to burp the bebe so he doesn't get colic. Don Chelo is learning. She is telling him the bebe will have to be changed also. Don Chelo wants to know if she is coming back tomorrow, she says no. She tells Don C he has to feed the bebe every three hours! ( I remember doing that) and she says this bebe is his sole reponsiblity. He wants to know why? Dona Chuy tells him that this little angel was put in his path for a reason! I think all of Viewerville knows why that is! At this lil Roddy belches, which means he's good to go.

Amor Bravío #46 (Uni 41) Wed 10/17/12 “Doctor, the Patient is Coding! …. Stand Clear!Paddles!Zap! Everyone is Shocked”
What a zinger of a capitulo tonight! We begin tonight’s capitulo as Isa saunters into her new manipulated manor, greets AlLocoLonso and ever so coolly announces that Camila is essentially bleeding to death and will soon be dead. Camila has been gored by a bull and left to die. Al actually shows he has little stomach for this level of cold-blooded murder. We are left to wonder if he would have preferred some extra pills, water and permanent nighty-night for Camila. He is, however, mouth agape, listening to the fine specimen of sociopathy that is mumsy Isavibora. She dismisses his horrorstruck face and tells him to get over his sentimental feelings for Camila, to think about the millions of pesos he will inherit, and to have fun boinking X-Inmoral. Zap! AlLocoLonso is shocked.

Refugio Para el Amor #135 Wed 10/17/12 There is no Joy in Mudville
Prelude – The
torrential downpour ended, the scene is left muddy.
There is a baby missing; there is a baby
found.
There are parents, family and
friends distraught knowing a newborn baby has disappeared; there is an unknown
man equally distraught at what he found—a newborn baby now in his possession.
Ayer – In case you missed it, Univision wants to
make sure you are completely saturated with what happened in yesterday’s
episode before starting tonight’s.
Pato is crying out in anguish from his bed to Matilde that
he feels impotent, tied to this bed and wheelchair.
He confesses that he loves Luci with all his
might and soul.
Claudio and Rodrigo come back to the Cruz Roja waiting area,
where Luci was brought, with coffee for Paz and Magda.
Claudio urges Paz to eat.
She needs her strength.
Luci needs her to be strong.
Claudio gets a call from Norma on what Barrera has been
doing.
Regrettably, he’s been all over
the neighborhood where Luci was, but no one saw anything.
Max arrives.
He asks
how Luciana is.
She’s weak, but stable.
Max wants to know if Rod is going to be the
one to tell Luci.
Yes, of course he has
to be the one.
He started to but that’s
when she collapsed and her blood pressure went haywire.
They’ll join forces, with Claudio.
Max tells Rod he loves him and won’t abandon
him.
Rodrigo swears he won’t rest until he finds their child.
A red convertible is whizzing down a busy street.
It’s Gala at the wheel, tossing overboard the
disguise she wore to the Julia, SE meeting, one piece at a time.
Paz wants to see her daughter.
Rod explains that she’s sedated and when
Claudio comes out, she can go in to see her.
Paz doesn’t know what she will say to her.
Rod tells her to have faith.
Paz says I have to or I’ll go crazy.
Rod swears he will not rest until their son
is back in her arms.
Claudio is at Luci’s bedside.
She is still sedated and unconscious.
He’s anguished because he failed her.
He begs her to recover and promises to find
her son.
We’ll find him.
A camera pans past old box cars, then billboards and posters
of Cosi Fan Tutte, La Bohème and Phantom of the Opera, featuring a dapper
gentleman, seen in costume and in photographs.
A baby cries.
A shabby hung-over man with dirty white
fingerless gloves wakes with a start.
He
stumbles over to the source of the crying.
It’s a baby in a cardboard box.
He looks as though he’s never seen this creature.
He picks up the baby and thinks to
himself—What am I doing with this?
Hoy –
Casota Grande de Dios
Roselena is back with the Padre Honesto.
He’s deeply concerned for Luciana and the
bitterness she’s going through.
The
death of a child is heavy enough but this type of loss is worse.
RE is putting on a first class show for him
with her own version of anguish and suffering—for the lost baby and yes, for the
mother who will live in torment the rest of her life.
She assures the padre that Max and Claudio
are doing everything he can.
They will
be investigating into what happened in the first few minutes before Luciana
left the clinic.
She asks Padre for
prayers and masses to be said every Sunday for Luciana and my grandchild.
What pain to endure not to know where the
child is or if he’s dead.
Padre Honesto
assures her he will take charge.
The Red Cross Clinic
Paz is now in Luci’s room watching over her.
A very no-nonsense nurse comes in to read the
monitor.
Paz wants to know what all the
numbers mean.
The nurse tells her they
are a read-out of her pressure.
She’s stable,
doing well.
It’s my daughter.
Nothing is more important in life than one’s
children, at least it is for her she tells Paz, not knowing she’s just shoved
the knife in her wound a little deeper.
Luci comes to.
Paz tries to talk
to her, but Luci just repeats over and over, “Donde está mi hijo.” [Get used to
it, Viewerville will be hearing this phrase a lot.]
Luci drifts into unconsciousness again.
Paz and Rod exchange places and when Luci
comes to again, Rod is with her.
Luci
tells him she had a nightmare that she heard him say that their son wasn’t with
them.
Luci begs Rod for an answer, “Donde
está mi hijo.”
Rod tells her she left the clinic she had the
baby, then she fainted in a nearby park.
Yes, she knows that.
She had to
leave.
Rod tells her that when the
ambulance picked her up, there was no baby. “I want my son, I need my son,” she
keeps repeating.
She cries inconsolably
in Rod’s arms.
Rod tries to calm Luci
down.
I’m going to find him, I swear
it.
Luci cannot be consoled.
She rips off her cuff and tries to get out of
bed while Rodrigo holds her back.

Abismo de pasión #149, 10/17/12: Emotional funeral for Pa'padre... But deep inside everything stays the same... except Ramona is ready to sing the opera!! needs a formal request from Queen Botox, though
Refrito:
Paloma seduces Gael in bed… and just when he is getting into the game(he is tired of the ‘let me play hard to get’ and joins her in the ‘operation skinny sheet-ing/nos estorbo la ropa’ game)….. RRRRIIINNNNGGGG!!!
Dam tells Gael they have to return to LaE. Gael immediately suspects something happened to Elisa (how original!!) but Dam clears that it is Lupe, Tio Lupe is dead!! (Gael gets instantly pale and unbalanced)
Elisa and Lolita barge into la quinta accusing Carmina that she killed Lupe…
Lo Nuevo:
Carmina(faking surprise to hear Lupe’s dead): ‘yo no se nada… yo llegue ahora mismo… y algo paso… yo no estaba ahi!!’ (sorry couldn’t resist, that is the lyrics of a song my dad loved… ‘I don’t know anything… I just got here and something had happened… I wasn’t there!’… anyway, back to the show) of course I deny it.
Elisa won’t stop there and also accuses her of killing Augie… Of course Carmina shoots back that Elisa killed MY son… Elisa says she is witness of Carmina kicking Lupe out of the quinta, and Lolita jumps in saying she is witness that Lupe suspected her of killing Augie… Carmina keeps denying denying… Elisa says don’t bother trying to convince me, you will have to convince the police… Gabino comes in saying ‘eeepale Caballo!!’ which is odd since Gael used to call Elisa ‘potranca’ (mare) himself. Anyway Elisa asks the cops to arrest Carmina but the cops tell Elisa they are not there to arrest Carmina but to tell them that they already have a suspect, Horacio, whose prints they found on the knife. He was also seen all bloody at the Arango hacienda. Lolita is in disbelief totally taken aback.
Braulio arrives at Inmundo/Enrique’s house to tell them Lupe was killed and will be watched at the church.
At Ramona’s we hear a door knock… (ok, it is a TN, it is a TN, why can't they be original and have someone arrive through the window on a parachute? or down the chimney)… it is … wait for it… wait for it…. The ANGEL of Lupe!! But Ramona does not know this… He is dressed in white (no blood anywhere), he gets confused at her whinning that she does not feel good, worried sick that Galoma won’t work as a marriage… Loopy tells her don’t loose the faith, there can be a miracle… Loopy won’t sit down, he seems in a hurry but has a very important task to assign Ramona. He is leaving town and there is nothing that can stop that train… but his mission must be completed… and he delegates the completion of his mission to her, ‘la elegida’ (the chosen one). She has to take the light of truth to the others, she has to clarify what happened… the only one that can do it is …you. (another knock on the door and Loopy is gone… Inmundo comes in to tell her about Lupe being killed). Ramona is totally taken aback. Elisa mad at Carmina that Gabino is there in same bed she shared with Augie… Carmina says mind your own business… Elisa says I don’t know your way of loving, you destroyed my father ever since you married him, turned him into a wasted drunk with your lies and the bitter life you gave him. Carmina pulls her ‘get out of jail free’ card, accusing Stefie, Elisa’s mom… The moment she ran away from here is the moment our lives turned for the worse. Elisa wants her to shut up. She won’t take her lies anymore, she is convinced Stefie is innocent and is growing convinced Augie did not kill himself. Carmina changes tactics and accuses Elisa and Lolita of bringing a murderer in ‘this house’. What if it was Horacio who killed Loopy? (Lolita looks scared at even the thought but she reminds Elisa the cops found his prints on the knife, and also he excaped prison to avoid his sentence, even Loopy suspected him… blames herself ‘es mi culpa mi nina’… Elisa tries to convince her of the contrary, takes Lolita away).
Carmina goes to bedroom… Carmina asks Gabino what will we do?? She is breaking the limits of loudness and that is enough to set off the migrains in Gabino. Gabino assures Carmina he cleaned the knife of her prints but does not know how Horacio’s prints got on it… Carmina tries to bring him into the equation as an accomplice.. Gabino says no you won’t take me down with you… Carmina assures him they all have info on him as well… Gabino gurgles/grunts in pain…
Damian and Lucio arrive at hacienda and a hysterical Tonia tells them about Horacio having been there and told Alfie the truth about Loopy. Tonia believes Horacio killed Loopy. Lucio gets startled, where is he!!!!?? Tonia says she called the police. Dam runs to find Alfie. She begs Dam to tell her it is not true, but after he confirms the tragedy, she assures him Horacio did not kill Lucio or wanted to hurt her, he only came to tell her about what happened to Loopy and that he could not do anything to prevent it. On the contrary, Horacio knows who killed Lupe but did not have time to tell her who it was. Where did it happen? How?? Dam won’t tell her because her heart can’t handle the truth. Alfie says she is fine, her pittpatt can handle it. Dam has no choice but to tell her Elisa and him found Loopy stabbed by Stefie’s grave. Alfie is devastated.
The funeral service at church. Everyone in white, you could easily run a detergent/Clorox commercial with this video… Ramona walks in a packed church, then Maru/Lucio/Carito, then Elisa and Lolita with Braulio.
Outside, Dam and Alfie walk toward the church… Alfie not a happy camper when she sees Elisa by the coffin, asks Dam ‘quitala!, he was my brother, it is my sorrow’. Dam responds ‘it is the whole town’s sorrow, mother’. Elisa walks away and Alfie approaches the coffin, which has a nice framed picture of Loopy on it. Dam sits down, crying a river, Alfie tells Loopy she will miss him (me vas a hacer mucha falta).
As Gael and Paloma make their way to church, Gael remembers some of our favorite scenes, when Loopy consoles kid Gael when he was upset he had no family, that even Paloma had her grandmother. But not him. Loopy says you got ME, mijito! (lets remember this, it will come up again later in episode when Dam/Gael talk). Then another scene where Gael asks Loopy how he will afford his school supplies. Loopy tells him leave that to me. And the playful hand games they played… (we come back to current time with Gael upset, but holding back the tears and managing to walk ever so slowly toward church).
Paloma comes to hug him from behind ‘I am here with you and won’t leave you alone. You have to say goodbye to him.’ Gael agrees. Gael and Paloma approach the coffin, Alfie is still there… Gael has one final memory scene, where adult Gael told Loopy that ‘you have not only been the priest who picked him up at the door of the church, you have been my ‘papa, the best papa in the world’…
Gael approaches the coffin, tells Alfie ‘Senora, would you allow me? I know he was your brother, but he was everything for me… he was my papa’’. Alfie is moved enough to nod yes and walk away… Gael finally lets out the tears and leans onto the coffin… devastated… Dam watches him and continues to cry a river.
Ramona suggests to Paloma to go join her husband. But on his way back out he grabs Elisa’s hand and tells her ‘my papa died!’… Paloma is hurt by this… Elisa hugs him but whispers to him that Paloma is there, that he should go to her. Gael lets go of Elisa and goes to embrace Paloma who caresses him in support.
(Have to say I applaud the acting here… everyone… Mark, David, Blanca, Livia, even Angelique… were great)
The procession to the cementery begins…the new priest followed by the coffin carried by the obvious: Dam/Gael/Lucio/Enrique and huffing and puffing Lucio and Inmundo in the back, followed by the whole town in white with yellow flowers… A very emotional goodbye with Gael throwing the soil on the coffin… hmmm Gael and Paloma both are wearing their amulets…
Flo talks to Dam, sharing her support… Enrique approaches Paloma (who has Gael just a foot away from her), asks her how her marriage is going… Paloma says not the best moment to talk about that. Paloma walks away and Flo invites a reluctant Enrique to get a coffee… (I still say these are the two with the best chances of making a long lastin relationship).
Dam: You have to be strong, brother. We all hurt by losing uncle Loop but you must be the one carrying the worse hurt. IF Loopy fought for anything it was for us two to have a close relationship as brothers. (Gael has a cold insensitive face to what Dam is saying, for all he cares Dam could be giving him a sales pitch for a brand of spray starch) … We cannot let him down. I know how all this is affecting you, and believe it or not I too am very affected by this. I too will miss my uncle as you cannot imagine.
Gael: You think life was so unfair with me. But not so. I did not grow up at the hacienda surrounded by wealth and luxury… (Dam changes demeanor, realizes Gael is still very hurt and very cruel/rough with him). But if we think about it, life was more unfair with you Damian. I had my dad… I had a dad who tucked me in bed every night, who gave me advice. Who reprimanded me. Who worried about me. A papa who always had the table ready to eat with me. And I would not change any… ANY of that for having the Arango surname. So if you think about it, even with all those millions, the procesadora, the hacienda and all that jazz, the loser here was you, Damian. (Dam is serious in his glance, but somehow seems to acknowledge what Gael is saying is true). Gael walks away, very sad. Dam rejoins Alfie… Alfie wants him to leave her alone by the grave. She shared the funeral with the whole town, she wants to be alone with Loopy. Take your time. When you are ready to leave, I will be sleeping under the tree… working on a looong long beard.
Paloma and Elisa hug (I can’t believe Elisa is wearing black boots… can’t she toss the boots away even in this occasion?) They comfort each other… Elisa had never seen Gael so sad in her life. Paloma says now I am here to support him, and I am sure with our baby coming it will be some consolation for him. Elisa agrees. Elisa is sorry they had to cut short the honeymoon. How did he treat you? Very good! (LIAR!!!)
Gael comes to get Paloma. They have not slept and she needs to rest for the baby. Elisa likes his worrying about Paloma, but not enough to avoid being left alone with him. She embraces him and he won’t waste a moment to remind her that she is still in his head and his heart (I don’t know if he is the one with the bigger head issue or Gabino with the bullet in his head). (And I thought you had made some strides… Are you EVER going to grow up, Gall??)
Enrique and Flo comment how the whole town turned out to such a moving emotional goodbye. Enrique can only think that Gael is the one with the woman he loves. Sorry I hurt you with that. Flo says don’t worry. Want to be your friend and want you to torture me with those statements. But time changes people. Look at me. I thought I would enjoy Alfie’s sorrow, and that I would feel payback for losing my dad, but I felt sorry for her. Btw, where is your mom? She was not there. Enrique thinks his mom was just sick. Flo walks with him to check on his mom.
Ramona catches up with Alfie at the grave. ‘You won’t find the answers you are looking for just standing here’. Alfie tells her she was right, life is collecting on her mistakes… but her brother’s death is too high a price for her to pay. Ramona tells her ’I might have the answers you are looking for. When you can put your ego/pride aside and want to get the answers, you know where to find me. By the way … just for the record. I am so sorry for your loss. It is not only a great loss for you and your son, for the whole town of LaE.
Enrique and Flo do not find BeGoneYa, they find the phone pulled off the hook. Enrique notices the family portraits are gone… he runs upstairs. Flo finds a letter from BeGoneYa on the dining table. Enrique reads it.
‘My dear Enriquito. Sorry but I can’t take it anymore. Overnight I lost everything. Your dad, your sister fled, you, the light of my eyes… even my untouchable reputation.. suddenly I am the talk of the town. All my friends turned their backs on me and I can’t deal with that. I went to my sister’s in Guadalajara for a while.’
At la quinta… Carmina is making holes on the floor pacing around.
Previews: Apparently Lolita tries to grab the phone and Horacio has to yank it off the wall… Lolita tells Lucio Horacio swore he did not kill Lupe. Carmina suggests to Gabino to flee before its too late… Dam asks Elisa if she wants to get back with him, and in comes Gaeloma. The awesome foursome sit down at same café table. Elisa tells Gael she is back with Dam. Gael says he can’t believe it is true(of course with an annoyed face). (DANG!!!! The plot thickens!!! And at same time it stays the same forthe four ‘leads’. Every other character in the novela seems to be going through more interesting stuff than the ‘main’ foursome)
