Abismo de pasión #146 10/10/12: maybe we should skip the honeymoon altogether, he's not that into ANYTHING....except fighting DamHotInYellow
Refrito:
Elisa’s ‘chilindrina’ WHAAA!! WHAAAA!! skid on Lolita… ‘Dam won’t trust me, I have never been anyone’s but his!’...yada yada. Lolita worried Elisa does not cry anymore (I am not so sure that is a bad thing… well, yeah, only on Elisa) Elisa swears she won’t be at peace until she clears her mother’s name… Lolita warns her she’s sacrificing her happiness for something she might never accomplish. Elisa can’t stay status quo.
Dam comes over to toast the ‘snappy couple’. Gael keeps playing role of happy bunny and sarcastically says ‘I hope your wishes come true’. Paloma walks away to greet DrT’s patients. Gael reminds Dam of his promise and threatens Dam not to break it. .Dam says sorry, deal is off. I came and handed Elisa over to you on silver platter… and to my surprise you married Pal instead. I still don’t get it (no, Dam, you would NEVER get it). Gall has to bring him up to speed in the fact that he boinked Pal while engaged to Elisa and that ‘slippery slope’ of his had consequences. Dam says it makes sense now that Elisa is so upset. She feels betrayed by you. Gall has the nerve to say ‘nope, she can’t stand that I am marrying Pal and not her’.
Lo Nuevo:
Dam says sorry but now you are married and I am single. So I am going after the half eaten candy bar you left behind.
At hacienda, Tonia so happy to see Alfie back. Alfie whines that Tonia gives her too much info… like Dam is still at his bro’s wedding… then that they arrested BeGoneYa for hiring someone to kill Paolo… that Paolo was about to rot out there… that Flo is still in town.. Tonia says Flo must be so sad, she first lost her dad and now lost her uncle. Alfie says Paolo is not a loss anyone will cry a river about, Guido’s death was much more important.
Back at wedding, Ramona and Lupe discuss their same ol’ subject. Ramona: ‘since you had to tell one truth, why not throw the rest of the baker’s dozen secrets’. Lupe rebuttes that saying he is not the only one keeping quiet on some truths. Ramona says Pal cannot find out who is her father, some truths destroy people. She reminds him she feels guilty of Augie’s death.. yada yada. Lupe repeats his usual response, ‘you will feel better when you spill the beans on Stefie/Rosie/Carmina’. Again, Ramona says WHY DON’t YOU?
Carito and DrT… seems she has been drinking quite a bit… DrT is behaving like a pure gentleman… Carito feels bad and faints right before his eyes. HE won’t let Elisa go with him to take Carito to the Centro de Salud.
At Merida police station, BeGoneYa throws her ‘pittiful me’ act to Enrique.. Enrique seems willing to give Dam some good competition on who will be more of an idiot to his mother’s ‘I am the victim’ speeches. Enrique tells her she is not arrested, she was brought here only to be questioned on the murder.
At Centro de Salud Carito wakes up, DrT lets her know that during his checking her out he discovered she had had a mastectomy (breast cancer surgery) and asks her when she had her last chemotherapy. That is surely why her body immune system is weakened. Carito gets really upset/angry, ‘you had no right!!’ SLAP!!!
Back to wedding… Paloma announces it is time to throw the bouquet… Lolita goes to grab Maru to go stand with the women. Elisa goes too, and she convinces Flo to go along. Do it for Pal. Of course Elisa gets the ‘prize’ and before she can realize what she has in her hands, she has Dam behind her ‘see? I told you so! You are going to lose that bet.’
Back to Hacienda, Alfie is worried, Dam is taking too long (as if he were 5 years old and went to town alone). A little while later she gets a surprise/scary visitor… Horacio came to check why she has not stopped by the cemetery. Still interested in messing with Gabino? Alfie seems to trust Gabino won’t harm her anymore. Horacio not so sure. Alfie sends him back, promising she will visit him when she feels better. Tonita comes by and could swear she was talking to someone. Alfie says no, I am still waiting for them. Tonia looks at her like not totally buying it.
Back at wedding, Paloma urges Dam to get going on marrying Elisa. Dam congrats Paloma on expecting. Pal teases Elisa with ‘you are getting married… you got the bouquet’… Pal tells Elisa she feels like in a dream. Elisa hugs her, notices Gael looking at her and Elisa intentionally puts the bouquet to block his seeing her face.
At quinta, Gabino arrives. Throws himself on couch. Carmina comes in, he asks her ‘where the heck were you?’ Carmina can’t believe his nerve. He wants her to cook for him. She says you know the way to the kitchen. If you want me to play a woman who waits on you and cooks for you you must be very sick in the head. Gabino starts to leave, she says no no no wait… Gabino plays like he is willing to please her and stay, but he walks away… again, Carmina is alone.
At wedding, Lucio has loaned the truck to Gael again. They are all smiles… Lucio wishes them all the best. Asks Pal to be VERY Patient with her hard headed hubby. IF he does not behave let me know and I will smack him over the head. Elisa also greets and wishes the best for the couple. Elisa reminds Gael he promised to make Pal happy. Dam also came to say goodbye. Warns Gael the road to Cancun is good but still drive carefully. He embraces Gael and tells him he wishes them all the happiness. Ramona warns Gael to take care of Paloma. Dr T arrives in time to say goodbye to the newlyweds. Paloma asks him how Carito is… well, just needs rest… Pa’padre also arrives in time to say goodbye… gives them one final speech of the life as a couple is not easy, but love is a splendor thing. After all ‘you are always with what/who you love’. Wherever I am I will always look out for you, and come see me if you need me for anything. Gael is thankful to him. Gael calls him padre, Loopy asks to be called Guadalupe, Gael says no, you will always be my papa’padre. ((ANVIL ALERT!!! THIS GOODBYES ARE VERY VERY VERY SCARY!!!)) and FINALLY!!! They are on their way! (Gael did not open the door for Pal… strike one, Gael!! But you stroke out for all 27 outs already, man!!)
Braulio sees his house, newly decorated by Lolita… they get smoochy talking about this being what they both dreamed years ago, her being the only woman he ever really loved, and still being in time to see it through, she wants to show him the rest of the house before they get too clingy… well, once in bedroom after a quick approval, they kiss passionately, he manages to stop and tell her it is getting late… but she won’t let him stop now that she has him where she wants him… she has always been ‘tu mujer’ FINALLY!!!
Carmina is ready for bed… again hears noises… comes out of bedroom to investigate. When she comes out to kitchen she notices a broken glass thing on floor… she grabs a huge knife and takes it with her to bedroom.
Dam and Loopy finally arrive home… She could not sleep … Loopy not willing to witness another of her ‘scenes’. He is more willing to hug her and say he his glad she is finally back home… in HER home. HE goes away to rest. She tells Loopy she is glad he is finally living with them ‘this is your house’.
Dam warns ALfie that Elisa did not marry Gael, and although she still does not dance to his tune, he won’t stop until she marries him. Alfie starts to confront his will… He is not willing to yield anymore. ‘Elisa already won the war on you’. ‘if you put me between the sword and the stone and make me decide, you know which choice I will make. I already lived the life you chose for me. I grew up very far from me. I married the woman you chose for me. And everything turned out awful. So now I will live my own life whether you agree with it or not.
At Cancun hotel… Gael seems to be ok with Paloma… even pleases her when she asks him to carry her through door ‘como en las peliculas’ (as in the movies). But once they are in balcony, she gets all excited about the luxuries of the hotel, never been away from LaErmita, then she wants to get steamy and he doesn’t. He almost goofs saying ‘its been a hard day’. When she asks him why, he says for all the events of the day…Again she tries to get steamy and again she is turned down. THE JERK wants to shower and go to sleep. He leaves her there alone, very sad. … (I am surprised my tv doesn’t have a couple shoes through the screen yet)
At cemetery, Elisa gets her surprise… Stefie’s toumb looks wonderful ‘Here rests eternally Stefie Bouv de Castanon, loving wife and mother’… Elisa is totally moved. Lucio comes over and explains it was a surprise, and that Lolita helped him too. Elisa thanks him for the best gift she has got … EVER!... She wants to go see Lolita to thank her too. Lucio says Lolita never came home to sleep. She and Braulio are finally having their powwow…
Said Lolita is being awaken by Braulio… she asks him to tell her she is not dreaming… they are very happy together, happier than I would conceive any of our younger couples could ever be. Braulio says it was the happiest moment of his life. She says she never thought she would feel so much and so wonderful. HE has been hoping to wake up beside her and say good morning… She realizes she spent the whole night with him. What will I tell Don Lucio and Elisa? Braulio took care of it. HE called LUcio early to let him know. What is wrong with it, we are both adult, available… he tells her Lucio said ‘about time!!’… HE fixed her a coffee, and will go fix her breakfast. She wants to make it herself, but he wants to pamper her. She is in heaven.
At quinta, Carmina is getting dressed… sees the knife and puts it in her purse… (YIKES!!! OOOH NOOOO!!!!)
Carito arrives to quinta, tells Carmina she is interested in buying the quinta.
At Santa Ana Procesadora, Dam and Maru are very worried about the financial state of the procesadora. Maru sort of gives him a speech ‘what did you expect after the adventure of stealing the bride and staying away days?’ … need to convince mother to accept that we find some investors. Dam is decided on taking the reigns of the procesadora. Maru excited to hear that. He needs to find investors because he certainly does not want Gabino to be it. Maru giggles, she has an idea, what if Elisa becomes the investor.. then she would be associate of the procesa… that way Alfie would not reject the idea of Dam and Elisa marrying. Dam agrees, for my mother it would be a way to keep some level of control.
Gabino visits Alfie and fakes being happy she is fine after her crisis. Gabino reminds her that they have a pending deal, he still wants to be associated to the procesadora. Will do anything to get that. Alfie asks how far would he go to get it. Gab offers to make Elisa stop breathing.. (and stop crying too?? That does not sound THAT bad)
Previews don’t look very encouraging at all for Loopy, he even wears all white, and says(I believe to Alfie) he has an appointment at 4pm with Elisa… Loopy meets with Carmina at cemetery, she says ‘I would be willing to do anything’… (and seems she stabs him, but I could be wrong). It all looks very gloomy for Loopy… yikes!!
Wait a minute… if this happens at the cemetery, where is Horacio? Will he witness Carmina’s newest deed?

After the Boda's over ... sorting out the early winners and the losers based on exit polling
Because yes, folks, they do go through with it. Gael may be stealing glances at Elisa even while he is exchanging vows with Paloma. He may look as if he is before a guillotine and not an altar. But he says the words and so does Paloma.
The guy in the banana yellow shirt* is, at least for the moment, the happiest man in La Ermita. Gael has been bagged and tagged and now Dam is one step closer to Elisa. ¡Mi Elisa!
[*Sources close to the production report that Dam is wearing matching banana yellow underpants. And they are also pretty happy.]
Who's the happiest girl? Paloma, you say? Not even close! It's Flor. Now that her rival is off the market, not even deep mourning can keep the not quite smirk off her face. Paloma smiles bravely but she notices what Gael is doing even as she tries to deny it to herself.
The most disgruntled and graceless? Ramona is unhappy, true, but when you add points for lack of class, Shallow Gael is a shoo-in. Apparently he was zoning out during the "till death do us part" part of the vows. He's still putting the moves on Elisa.

Weekend Discussion: Leitmotifs and Love Themes; Novela Music
Ever
since ancient times music has been important in theatrical
entertainment to set moods and describe and comment on action.
Musicians were present in theatres during the time of Sophocles, the
Caesars, and later Shakespeare. The composer Jean Baptitste Lully
frequently collaborated with Molière
during the time of Louis XIV. During the days of silent movies music
was provided in theatres to accompany the action, either
by a full orchestra in New York or a pianist in Peoria. Special effects organs like “The Mighty Wurlitzer” were designed to also simulate other
instruments and were installed in large movie theatres. Classical
music that was in the public domain was often used and music cue
sheets were provided to conductors, organists, and pianists. As
films became more sophisticated they had scores uniquely composed for
them and now we almost feel cheated when the odd film is released
that has no music. It feels unfinished; artistically incomplete.

I had to watch online tonight thanks to my new digital cable box and old Tivo not playing together nicely. I trust all you perceptive commenters will let me know if I’ve missed anything important.
Lo Refrito (i.e. lowlites from last night): Chente accepts Gabino’s mandate to “prove” he is a Mendoza by destroying Braulio. Yikes! Guadalupe threatens Carmina with jail. Carmina retorts by threatening Elisa, take that ex-padre! Elisa tells Gael that Paloma’s baby is his. There is a sick horse; any vets in the house?
Lo Nuevo: “No puede ser!” says Gael to Elisa. Enrique said the kid is his. Enrique lied, she says, to protect Paloma. The usual conversation ensues and Elisa reveals that when Paloma was “sick” she actually tried to kill herself. “You have to take responsibility and marry Paloma. Forget me forever,” insists Elisa.
Ooh la la, Gabino and Carmina are in an embrace of the debauched. Carmina is pithed about Elisa playing the grand executive, and she simply can’t stomach boinking while ex-padre is still in town bothering her. How she hates her life! Little Gab, who is frisky tonight, tells Big Gab to tell Carmina that he’s her man now and 1) will make sure Elisa’s company is past history and 2) will “take care of” Lupe if she will “take care of” him. Deal.

Abismo de pasión #142 10/2/12: An Aging Sexpot Becomes Important To the 'Plot' and Gael Finds That He Is Going to be a Daddy
Introduction
Seven monkeys are in a nice office at Televisa HQ, with seven aged desktop computers. (Ed. We do not need more monkeys that seven to demonstrate 'Infinite Monkey Theorem for Abismo—seven will do.) After a moment of observing them, It is clear that these fine simians are the writers for Abismo De Pasion. This is the dialogue that followed, as I was able to understand it. Monkeys speak fast and heavily accented Spanish...
"Let's add another meaningless character to the story of Abismo de Pasion. Why don't we do it now (instant gratification) while we are already in Ultimas Semanas? Oh, YES! The delighted monkeys clap their hands in glee. I know, says the alpha male, a huge brute named Fluffy. I learned a new concept in Behavioral Science today—'Aging Sexpot'.
'Aging sexpot?' cry the other monkeys, as they try the phrase on for size. "Aging sexpot? I like it", says the sycophant monkey standing behind Fluffy. "I really like it. This could be worked in with the other random elements we have strung together in place of a plot."
"Don't think of this show as having a PLOT!" shrieks the Alfa Fluffy as he capers around the room, taking control of the group firmly. "Think of this as... as...a soup, stone soup in which we can throw in any ingredient, bring it to a boil and then watch as it evaporates away, meaningless." In the sudden shift of mood that characterizes monkeys and is best exemplified by Gael in 'Abismo', the writing, typing, and story-running monkeys screech, scream and insult one another, pelting one another with the rotten fruit that covers the floor of their large office. "You people are losing your meta-physical edge," Fluffy snarls. "Think Sopa de Albondigas and start typing.The first one done gets a rotten banana!
And, with this fine incentive, our writers type madly away on their ancient word processors.

Aging Sexpot Carito starts out the episode by promising to help Elisa with her 'plot' to buy la quinta from Carmina.
Paloma says goodbye to Doc Tovar and tells him he has been like a father to her. She also finds out that her mother, Remedios, sacrificed her life for Paloma when she was born. How sad.
Everybody Is At Elisa's Procesadora Today
Outside the new and prosperous procesadora Yucateca Begonia begins insulting Paloma to her son Enrique. "That girl is a low-down, base born tramp. She could be pregnant by anybody..."( a loose translation, I'll admit, but it captures the idea). Begoña sure knows how to endear herself to her children. Right then, Elisa walks by and overhears the conversation. "Is Paloma pregnant?", she asks. QuiQue tries to equivocate but Elisa asks, "Is she pregnant of not?" Enrique now throws his Mom under the bus, this is just another case of her gossip and lies, but Elisa isn't buying it. Enrique suggests that it would be better for Elisa to speak about this directly with Paloma. When Begoña insults Paloma again, comparing her to 'sluts' like Elisa and Carmina, Elisa takes the luscious, ripe habanero out of her hand, shoves it in Begone's face and rubs it all over her mouth. That will give Begoña a taste of her own medicine! Begone grabs her burning face as Elisa walks away. Go Spunky Elisa! Enrique shakes his head at his mom and walks back into work.

Abismo de pasión #141 10/1/12:The Truth- It Will Be Told

Hospital: Gab and Dan are still fighting about who cares.
Procesadora: Elisa decides she should finally go into work and act like an owner of the business. Carito greets her and tells Elisa that she heard about what happened and was worried about her and is glad that she finally came back to work. Elisa is mad that no one in La Ermita has anything better than to talk about what has happened to her. Surely she canʼt be the only girl in La Ermita to have been kidnapped by a man whose mother despises her and tricked her son into marrying a woman who pretended to be pregnant and plotted to kidnap the townʼs doctorʼs daughterʼs baby whose father was a statutory rapist from Italy, and that Elisa was going to marry a man who just found out was her kidnapperʼs brother and would have killed said kidnapper if it werenʼt for the fact that the padre broke a confessional secret to reveal it in order to save that kidnapperʼs life. Or that her fiance had finally confessed that he slept with her best friend while he was promised to her, even though she stole her fiance from that best friend and even though she was feeling guilty for having hot beach sex with her kidnapper. I mean really, is everyone in this town so bored with their own lives to have nothing better to talk about?

Abismo de pasión #140 9/28/12: Gosh, I Hate Coming Up With Titles, but Here Goes: I HATE Ex-Padres Ascot and other of my OCD OBSERVATIONS
Casa de Don Lucio: Eliar, who stole Gall from Paloma, tells Paloma that Gall should have kept his pecker in his pants and not slept with Paloma (especially since he didn’t love her). Outraged that Gall did not remain faithful to her during their engagement, Eliar points out that Gall didn’t realize how much he was hurting Paloma and he doesn’t deserve their forgiveness. Eliar begs Paloma not to leave town because Gall will be in Paloma’s heart where ever she lives. She can’t run away from her feelings. Paloma tells Eliar that she can’t be near Gall because it hurts too much. Eliar swears to Paloma that Gall will not hurt Paloma again. Paloma says that she has to leave and hurries out of the door. Dolores, who has been listening to the conversation, tells Elisa that Paloma hasn’t told them everything.
Yucateco: The office is empty except for Enrique and Carito, the receptionist. Enrique tells Carito that she looks bad (no wonder he can’t keep a woman), she’s skinny and she needs to eat. Enrique’s going to get a bite to eat; he invites her out with him. Carito grabs her purse, but almost faints on the way out. Enrique catches her before she hits the floor. She tells him that she hasn’t been feeling well lately since she’s been doing all of the work at Yucateco. Between Enrique’s love life, Braulio trying to carry Dolores’ milk, Elisa getting kidnapped, Gall going crazy and Don Lucio’s Tostacho parties, she’s had to put in a lot of overtime. She’s heard of “my girl Friday”, but this is ridiculous! Enrique offers to take her to his father for a check-up. Carito believes that she simply lacks vitamins. Enrique tells her to take the tomorrow off. Why don’t they just close down the plant? Nobody has time to work!

Abismo de pasión #139 9/27/12: If anyone says she “gave herself” to a man one more time I’m going to scream!
Prologue: Ladies, it's no wonder that the guys treat you like prize pigs when you keep saying things like you "gave yourself" to them. Rant over.
Leftovers: Paloma instructs Gael to tell Elisa he “betrayed” her or Paloma will tell all. Padre, looking dapper in street clothes, tells Carmina what to do with her threats. They quietly threaten each other and take turns glaring. (I would love to see the outtakes from this scene.)
Lo Nuevo: Gael is afraid he’ll lose Elisa over a “stupid mistake”, because he couldn’t control an “animal instinct”. (Dude, shut up now.) Hey, he likes Paloma but she knows darn well he’s never been able to get Elisa out of his head, at least the one sitting on his shoulders. Paloma’s not happy to hear (again) that she is sloppy seconds. She gave herself to him because she loves him, not because of an animal instinct. “Gael if you don’t tell her then I will because I won’t stay silent about this.” (Ha, told you to shut up Gael.)
Elisa, looking like a lady for a change, sips tea and recalls Carmina telling her that Stef left her love shack to Carmina so that Carmina would always have a place. Lucio joins her and they decide to go to Merida in the morning to see if the blue house ever belonged to Stef. Elisa also wants to fight for Augusto’s property since he and Carmina were about to divorce. Lucio says he’ll help but a fight like that is long and exhausting. Elisa doesn’t care because she needs something to fight for and she has a bunch of free time because she never goes to work anyway. I thought we might have a tear-free scene but at the very end Little Elisa’s lip quivers and a big, glycerin tear rolls down her face.
Now we have a short promo for the Aeropuerto Internacional de Chichen Itza. Sabrina is SO glad they have their very own wonderful airport. Doc T and Begona remind her several times she has to change planes in Mexico City. (What? No direct flights from Valladolid to Africa?) Begona is only slightly annoying as the loud farewell music obliterates the dialogue. Doc T reassures Begona that maybe Sabrina needs to find herself and learn to love again. (The patio gives a loud hoot. We start betting drinks on which country in Africa Sabrina will find her husband.)
Meanwhile Chente is over at Hacienda Arango moping because Sabrina hasn’t even made an attempt to say hello to him. That little dude is definitely in his own clueless world. Daddy Gabino bustles in, ignores Chente, and demands to see Alfonsina. Tonia tells him Dam took her to Merida for delicate open heart surgery. She could die.
Cut to Merida where Alfonsina is about to go into delicate open heart surgery. She cries and gasps to Dam that if she dies, IF SHE DIES...she wants him to always keep in mind that Elisa caused her death. (Recapper rolls eyes.) She can’t go into delicate open heart surgery until Dam promises to forgive her for all the crap she has pulled. Plus he has to tell her he loves her. “Of course I love you, you’re my mother and I have to or I’ll go to hell.” Now he has something to ask, he wants Alfie to forgive dad, Stef and Elisa. Ooh, nice one Dam, but Fina just sobs and is saved by the orderlies who wheel her away.
Speaking of sobbing, Paloma’s at the cenote. Sobbing.
Gael is at the church telling God he’s a coward. He doesn’t want to hurt Paloma but he’s afraid of losing Elisa if he tells her the truth. Yawn.
Soon-to-be-Ex-Padre visits the Bishop and admits he broke canon law and blabbed a confessional secret. Bishop fires Lupe but Lupe says nope, he quits. But that law he broke? He’s going to tell another secret of confession and he hopes God forgives him. Bishop says no can do, Lupe will doom his soul. Lupe says he has to tell the secret in order to defeat the evil that rules over his village.
Elisa sees Gael pouting in the plaza. Gael asks Elisa if she’s sad that Dam dumped her. Nope, because she was going to dump him first. Gael wants to know if Elisa is still cool with marrying him. Elisa’s pretty sure that Gael will never forgive her for boinking Dam. She reminds Gael that betrayals can’t be forgotten, especially by overly jealous jerks like him. Gael is really squirming now, he swears he loves her deeply and hey, he can forgive anything, heh. Oh, and since there are no secrets between them he shagged someone a couple of weeks before their wedding. Now about them getting married... “QUE????” demands Elisa, “You were taking me to the altar while hiding that lie? If Dam hadn’t stolen me I’d be married to you and YOUR LIE. And you and YOUR LIE had some nerve giving me a hard time when I got back to La Ermita. You and YOUR LIE don’t love me!” Elisa calls him a coward and demands to know who was the woman.
Gael couldn’t think of anything during the commercial break. Clearly thinking isn’t one of his strong suits. He says the Other Woman doesn’t exist. He only loves Elisa. Elisa snorts and tells him to shut up. Gael sees that contrition and preemptive forgiveness didn’t work so he goes on the offensive. He says Elisa did the same thing he did so they’re even. (Recapper rolls eyes again.) Elisa informs him she gave herself (aaargh!!!) to Damian in an act of love. If Gael went with his animal instincts then she only feels pity for him. Gael doesn’t want to let Elisa go until she forgives him and tells him she loves him.
E: That would be a lie.
G: Dam dumped you. You have nobody.
E: I have myself. I don’t want Dam, or you, or any dam Arango.
And thus Gael is schooled in what not to say to a woman.
Paloma and Flor are in the office not working. They update each other on their rotten love lives and give moral support. Paloma fears she won’t be able to keep her pregnancy a secret much longer.
Carmina drinks alone and recalls Lupe’s words that wherever Carmina plants evil he will plant truth. She smashes her glass on the floor before she remembers she has no servant to clean up.
Begona and Doc T are in an outdoor cafe enjoying some wine and talking about Sabrina’s exciting future. Begona curses Paolo and loudly states if she could she would send someone to kill him, KILL HIM, got that? Doc tells her to stop the crazy talk. She gets all sweet and tries to butter him up, saying that because their kids are so great they did something well together. (Well...together.)
Elisa goes home to Lolita and curses the Arango men. Dam claimed he loved her but boinked Flor. Dam only stole her so he could get to her before Gael did and now that he found out Gael’s his brother he wants to give Elisa back. (I’m actually embarrassed to be reporting this ludicrous dialogue so I’m stopping now.)
Lolita tells Elisa she’s crazy; Dam truly loves her.
Elisa goes off on a rant that Gael, with his smothering jealousy, is worse than Dam. And news flash, Gael claimed he loved her but had hot animal sex with someone else right before the wedding. Dam can stay with his doubts and Gael can stay with his lies because she doesn’t want either of them and she’ll never forgive them!
Paloma shows up and Lolita gives her the 411. Elisa’s pithed because Gael had another woman before the wedding. Paloma asks if Gael told them with whom he cheated. Elisa says no, but he assured Elisa he didn’t care at all about that woman. Not a bit. Not one iota. Lolita pipes up that it must have been one of those crazy, loose chicks who never think about the consequences of their actions. Paloma looks so stricken that even our self-centered Elisa starts to figure out what went down. She says maybe it was a woman who loved Gael so much that she was suffering because Gael was going to marry Elisa instead of her. Does Paloma know the woman? Oh hell yes she does, “I am the woman.”
Lupe arrives at the hospital in Merida. He tells Dam that he’s sticking around La Ermita, not as a priest but as a man with a mission. He wants to stay with his family, protect those he loves, and gambol under a sky full of anvils that have his name on them. They shut their eyes and pray for Alfonsina as Gabino creeps around the corner.
Paloma says that just as Elisa gave herself to Dam for love, Paloma did the same with Gael. She loves him with all her strength even if he doesn’t deserve it. Paloma couldn’t tell Elisa because she was too ashamed from throwing herself at Gael. Elisa points out it’s Gael’s fault too, but Paloma insists she stupidly thought if she gave herself to Gael completely then he would find a feeling that didn’t exist. But now she realizes he’ll never love her.
Elisa figures that’s why Paloma wants to leave town, but take it from her that’s not the solution. The girls hug and cry. Paloma says she has to leave, no way can she stand being close to Gael.
Meanwhile Lolita has been taking all this in and her hamsters are wheel-running overtime. Paloma rushes out the door and Lolita suggests to Elisa that Paloma hasn’t told them the entire truth. She thinks Paloma is, wait for it, hiding something.
Avances: Elisa slaps Gael. Gael overhears Flor and Enrique and angrily assumes Paloma is expecting a baby by “ese tipo” (Enrique). Gael punches Enrique.

Or should I say your ex-fiancee’? … you know gossip runs around this town like an air-born virus.. it sticks around like the heat… But tell me, what does it feel like to be the jackpot prize between two bros? History is repeating itself, but in reverse. Augie was the prize for the brawl between myself and your mom, as sisters… No, my mom did not hate you but I know very well that you always hated and envied her, and you still hate and resent her to this day. … Same will happen with Gael and Dam… Not all brothers have to curse and fight each other all their lives. … but if that bothers you, why don’t you bag them both? Forget either of them exists! (boy, first reasonable advice coming out of the orange puckers??)
At clinic, Alfie still blabbing about Elisa, Stefie, etc etc. Loopy says the confession vow prevented me from spilling beans earlier… but what about you? Dam stops by Lucio’s and leaves a letter under the door (for Eliar, I am sure)
At laguna shack, Quique is asking Paloma to give them another try. She is still waiting on Gaol, who won’t see how valuable/ wonderful she truly is. ‘Gaol has known you all his life and still does not know who you are. I got to know you the last few weeks, and I love you. I am still willing to marry you and give your son my surname. I am no Gaol! I no longer feel anything for Flo. I love u now.’ Paloma turns down Quique still, after all that sweet talk.

At shack, Ramona arrives to see a deflated Quique leave… Paloma debriefs her on the visit.. Ramona says why wouldn’t a guy notice your feelings and beauty? (even if they run for safety when they get to know her better once she gets too clingy…) Ramona points that if Gael was too blind to see her virtues, that does not mean other boys like Quique could not. He must really care for u to be willing to accept another’s baby. Paloma not willing to let Quique sacrifice, would rather stay alone. Ramona frantically flaps her fan, seems she can make fans from wicker around the cenote)
They are bringing Alfie out of the clinic onto the ambulance... (we hear 'Boom! pow! 'careful!! careful!!' Boom! swack!! 'Careful!! I can imagine Alfie whispering curses at the poor ambulance guys) Just before Dam climbs on the back of ambulance, Loopy catches up with him in street. They say their goodbyes. Dam climbs into the ambulance. Eliar arrives just in time to share a depressing glance with Dam.

Lucio visits Loopy. Lucio tells Loopy that his decision to leave priesthood is rather extreme. Had to break my confession vow, Gael was going to kill Dam and had to tell him to stop him. .. Anyone else would have done same… if I had not, Dam would be dead and Gael would be a delincuent.
Sabrina, totally convinced, tells her family Loopy recommended and the zulu tribes accepted, so she will be on way to Africa any day now. BegoneYa and Inmundo try to make her change her mind. Later Quique also tries to change her mind, he confesses to her that Paloma’s baby is not his. And about his wanting to be with Paloma. Sabrina says you are falling again in the trap you did with Flo.
Elisa is telling Paloma about the revelation moment. Elisa has not talked to Gael. Eliar says Dam is confused, has guilt feelings with Gael, so much he does not want to be with her anymore. Paloma does not get how the two things are connected. Will you let Dam break with you for guilt feelings? Dam wrote a letter and left. They will do heart surgery on his mother. I can’t force him to stay. Paloma asks Eliar why they came back a bit mad at each other. Eliar says now town will have a field day with the gossip about her following mommy’s teps. .. What would happen if you got pregnant while you and Dam were gone? Eliar loses her breath, then says she would tell Dam, don’t want to repeat the story of Gael’s. Baby would not be the one to blame. Paloma impactada by the answer.
Lucio visits Gael. I heard everything and thought you might use some company. Elisa is non-stop crying… Gael still resentful that Elisa cares what would have happened to Dam. Lucio says she cared about BOTH of you! … You also think Elisa loves Dam and I the same? … Elisa cares about you both PERIOD!! Lucio tells Gael that Loopy is taking it really hard too (SEE?? It’s not just ALL ABOUT YOU boy!!)… so hard he is giving up priesthood. You know him better than anyone. HE is a good priest and a good man, you owe him a lot. (Gael nods in agreement).Go talk to him? He needs you!
At Merida Hospital, Dr tells Dam and Alfie that she does need a very risky open heart surgery.
Probably my favorite scene in the episode… Gael catches Loopy at home. Gael starts acting his old self like a nervous little boy in front of Loopy. Loopy tells him he is not worthy of being a priest anymore. Loopy gives the excuse that the due date is here for the replacement priest to arrive. Have to move out of this house. Where to? … Does it matter to you really? … Why wouldn’t it??... Gael, your evil twin has filled your heart with hatred, and has stolen your nobility, you have turned resentful. … No I don’t resent you. On the contrary, I am only too grateful for all you have done for me. It did hurt a lot that you did not tell me all these years about my origin, but you also taught me to be a one word man and that was your duty with God. … so you forgive me? … it is me who has to apologize, Pa’ Padre! (ouch! Anvil alert! Gael is wearing a black and white plaid shirt!!). … I am no longer a priest but I am your father. Will always be your father. Did you talk to Dam? … yeah he came over. .. what did he say? … that he had taken too many hot wheel cars and sugar daddy’s from me so he was leaving me Eliar (is that a good trade/gift?... that is debatable) … so I want to re-start where I left off and marry Eliar ASAP…. Do you realize that speaks well of his heart (Gael nods no). I doubt Eliar will want to marry you after all that has happened. … That is why I need you to help me convince Elisa to forgive me and get back with me!!... No, Gael. Don’t count on me… (tantrum boy is back!) Why not!! You owe me!!... You don’t have to behave like this!! You can’t play victim and try to blame Dam for stealing her!! Even less take advantage of your brother’s guilt to steal her from him… No sir!!... Yes sir!! We both know you have not been totally honest with Eliar either! There is something that you are hiding from her and that puts a black cloud on that great love you say you feel for her!! You have to tell her!! You have to recognize that while engaged to her you betrayed her with another woman!! IF you really want to marry her, Don’t get to the altar to make a promise that is not true, hijo.
Lolita is glad Eliar won’t accept Gael again just because Dam suggested it. Paloma still loves Gael even if she is considering Quique. Lolita does not understand how Dam could renounce her. Lolita is confused, why are Eliar and Dam still playing the game of getting on and off the merry-go-round. Eliar says Tangel-Ho is right about comparing the past and now with Gael/Dam. Lolita says both Eliar and Dam are confused, but they cannot take such drastic measures. … so what now?... well, I don’t know but don’t break up for doubts and guilts, don’t carry burdens that are not yours…
Gael gets home still miffed… door knocks again.. (boy is this the most popular spot in La Ermita today or what??)… it is Paloma this time. … what are you doing here?... what else? To be a listening ear if you need it (suddenly the word has got around that Gael needs a Psychiatrist. Where is DrT to show his psychiatry skills?)… once you told me that after what happened among us we would never be friends again. I don’t want to hurt you again… can’t help it (but keep comin’ to take more crap from u)… Dam told me he would leave the way free for me with Eliar. I know my words hurt you but Eliar is the woman I love… what you don’t want to understand is that Eliar does not love you… Enough! Eliar loves me!, Dam assured me of it! Wants me to marry her as I had planned!!.. Eliar won’t take you, even less after what happened!!... Yeah, I was about to do something crazy for jealousy! Thank God Loopy arrived to prevent me from hurting Dam!! … I am not talking about that, you JERK!!... Padre told me the same, why did you tell him? … because I could not take it anymore, I had to tell someone… he told me to come clean with Eliar, tell her the truth… he is right, if you want Eliar to take you back, you have to tell her about us. If you don’t tell her, I swear I will.
Loopy is walking down a rainy street… Tangel-Ho cuts him off… Evil never rests. You had been overdue by now. I was wondering when you were going to sneak out in the open. … I too have been asking myself when you would leave this town finally. The 6 months lead time is over… that is not your bidness. When I leave is not your problem. But I have to tell you I don’t have to leave town. The people I still love and those that still need me are still here… that sounds like a threat. Be careful… save your threats, Carmina. I know perfectly what you are capable of. Listen, you better beware, you are the one that does not know what I am capable of… yes I do. What happened? Loopy broke a confession vow?? … that I did to avoid a tragedy. Be careful what you do, evil woman. Wherever you try to plant evil, I will plant the truth… THE TRUTH!... (boy he has just signed his death sentence from the way she beams/targets her laser eyes at him.)

Abismo de pasión #137 9/25/12: La Ermita: where the women are chattel, the men are MORONS and the children -- well, there are no children.
In which Padre Lupe breaks the seal of the confessional to save Damián's life; we realize that we have underestimated the depth of Alfonsina's malice; Enrique breaks free of Florencia; Dam offers Elisa to Gael as if she were a prize pig; and various people are crippled by guilt over the wrong things while the truly guilty work out their exit strategies; and oh yeah, Gabino still can't get it up.

Mad Dog Gael swears he'll kill Damián as soon as he gets out of jail. And since Lupe unwisely paid his fine before assessing his protegé's state of mind, we know Gael will be out and on the prowl tonight.
In the plaza of La Ermita, Dam has just declared "Mi amor es un dolor que necesito para vivir" (My love is a pain that keeps me alive) -- country-western song, anyone? -- and pulled Elisa to him, horny robot-style.

The two are swapping spit when we hear slow. loud. clapping. It's Mad Dog Alfonsina and she has come to see the show, to admire how demoniacal Elisa is working her evil on Dam just as her ma did on Rosendo. But surprise, Alfie -- Elisa is mad as habaneros and she's not gonna take it anymore. Her parents are dead, her life has been endless suffering and it's all Alfie's fault. And now SHE is going to pay for what she has done!
Elisa turns away and Dam calls after her. But Alfie trumps Elisa's mad with an almost dead. "Damián" she croaks just before she collapses.

Abismo de pasión #136 9/24/12: Who Are You And What Have You Done With Our Gael

Cantina: ʻNobody knows the troubles Iʼve seen, nobody knows my sorrow...ʼ sings Gael into his tequila. Gab hears him and joins in. But Gael doesnʼt want to sing a duet and tells him to leave. He will, but not before he gives a gun to Gael and tells him to off his former friend. Gael says he wants to do it with his bare hands and gives him back the gun. Gab continues to taunt him and Gael responds by slugging him. First Gael has the upper hand, throwing a strong right hook, then slams his head into the bar.(thatʼs gotta hurt when you have a bullet in your head) But look out, Gab will not be outdone. He didnʼt bury a woman alive in a hospital gown the same day he gained consciousness by being a weak man. He turns around and does the 3 Stooges Headbutt, only to have the younger Gael waver for just a moment before he returns the favor with 3 more rights followed my 4 more. If Gabinoʼs head hurt before, it must be on fire about now.
Dam is helping Alf into bed and she tells him she will see Doc at his office tomorrow. (How he can even be civil to her after knowing what she has done is beyond me) She goes on about how awful Elisa blah blah blah. Dam tells her again that she shouldnʼt be responsible for what her mother did, blah, blah, blah. Time filler...
Lucio, Lola and Elisa are eating dinner and talking about visiting the graves tomorrow. More time filler talk about missing the dead and taking care of the graves. Elisa cries. They agree to go visit the cemetery.
Paloma is rubbing her real baby bump when Ramona asks Paloma if sheʼs heard anything of Elisa and Dam. She tells her they are back in La Ermita. Elisa came back more in love than ever, but something happened and sheʼs really mad at Dam because he continues to doubt her love for him. Ramona adds that Gael getting in the middle of that wonʼt help and will only end badly. Paloma thinks that Gael doesnʼt deserve Elisa and Ramona says that he doesnʼt deserve Paloma either. She tells Ramona that Elisa confessed to Gael that she betrayed him, but he never told Elisa that he did the same to her. Ramona tells Paloma that she needs to tell Elisa about the betrayal before they leave or at least to pressure Gael to tell Elisa about it but Paloma wonʼt.

Cantina: ʻNobody knows the troubles Iʼve seen, nobody knows my sorrow...ʼ sings Gael into his tequila. Gab hears him and joins in. But Gael doesnʼt want to sing a duet and tells him to leave. He will, but not before he gives a gun to Gael and tells him to off his former friend. Gael says he wants to do it with his bare hands and gives him back the gun. Gab continues to taunt him and Gael responds by slugging him. First Gael has the upper hand, throwing a strong right hook, then slams his head into the bar.(thatʼs gotta hurt when you have a bullet in your head) But look out, Gab will not be outdone. He didnʼt bury a woman alive in a hospital gown the same day he gained consciousness by being a weak man. He turns around and does the 3 Stooges Headbutt, only to have the younger Gael waver for just a moment before he returns the favor with 3 more rights followed my 4 more. If Gabinoʼs head hurt before, it must be on fire about now.
Dam is helping Alf into bed and she tells him she will see Doc at his office tomorrow. (How he can even be civil to her after knowing what she has done is beyond me) She goes on about how awful Elisa blah blah blah. Dam tells her again that she shouldnʼt be responsible for what her mother did, blah, blah, blah. Time filler...
Lucio, Lola and Elisa are eating dinner and talking about visiting the graves tomorrow. More time filler talk about missing the dead and taking care of the graves. Elisa cries. They agree to go visit the cemetery.
Paloma is rubbing her real baby bump when Ramona asks Paloma if sheʼs heard anything of Elisa and Dam. She tells her they are back in La Ermita. Elisa came back more in love than ever, but something happened and sheʼs really mad at Dam because he continues to doubt her love for him. Ramona adds that Gael getting in the middle of that wonʼt help and will only end badly. Paloma thinks that Gael doesnʼt deserve Elisa and Ramona says that he doesnʼt deserve Paloma either. She tells Ramona that Elisa confessed to Gael that she betrayed him, but he never told Elisa that he did the same to her. Ramona tells Paloma that she needs to tell Elisa about the betrayal before they leave or at least to pressure Gael to tell Elisa about it but Paloma wonʼt.

Abismo de pasión #135 9/21/12: R.I.P. Little Gabby
Clinic: Florencia gives Paloma a sob story about not being able to buy Prada anymore because her father died and left her penniless. Paloma takes her new BFF to Dr. Tovar for a job. Dr. Tovar, thinking that he might have a chance with his son’s hot ex-girlfriend agrees to grant her an interview. Florencia starts out by saying that when she divorced Damien, she knew that she would have to make it on her own. She just needs a horny old man, who happens to be a doctor, to believe in her and give her a chance. She bats her eyelashes at him for emphasis. Paloma pipes in and reminds the doctor that she also didn’t know how to type, turn on a computer, file, answer a telephone or read good when she first started working for him. He took a chance and hired her as office eye-candy and look at her now! She’s a unwed pregnant chick who still can’t file, type, answer a telephone or read good! After hearing that rousing speech, Dr. Tovar agrees to hire Florencia on a two-week probation. He wants Paloma to train Florencia to wear short dresses and with plunging necklines. Everyone’s happy.
Playa: Damien and Elisa have officially stopped mating like their rabbits at the end of the world. Their clothes are back on and Dam is still not happy about it. Elisa is sitting at the shoreline daintily pointing her toes. Damien tells her that he jealous and loves her to death. He’s upset because Gall got to have sex with her first. How could she have sex with someone that she was going to marry? He only had sex with Florencia a lot before they got married. Once he married Florencia, he was celibate and stayed faithful to Elisa. Elisa doesn’t want to hear his “man logic” or “man speak”. She tells him to shut up and get away from her. Dam wants to solve their problems before they get to La Ermita; he doesn’t like to see her cry. Dam Fine believes that Elisa might use this argument to get back together with Gall. Elisa tells Dam Fine that she wants to be with the man that she gave herself to with all of her love, body and soul. Dam Fine says, great! He will return her to Gael ASAP! Elisa looks disappointed that Dam Fine doesn’t believe that he was her first lover and sinks down into the sand. She has conveniently forgotten that she told Dam Fine that she was the town tramp and that Gael was the best lover that she has ever had.

As a final scene, we get Dam caressing Elisa, stands up from the mat, but then remembers Elisa yelling mad at him, and…
1) Swearing she now loves Gael more than she ever loved him
2) He has been so naïve he never realized she is everything the town has been saying about her. (with accompanying gestures that remind the audience of her Teresa character)
3) She slept with Gael. So if you brought me here to prevent that, too late. Your friend already had me.
Way to torture yourself, stoopid boy.. didn’t you just have her swear love to you?
Lo Nuevo: Ooh la la, there’s Dam in his tighty whities and Elisa showing up in, well her whitie lacey butt floss to play Florence Nightingale.
Padre visits sis to pray over her and tell her desafordunadamente there is still no word about Dam. Sweet dreams sis.
Elisa makes shoving pills down Dam’s throat seem like foreplay. They swap spit, say Ramona was right as usual and promise to be with each other forever.
Gabino visits Carmina, hips through the door first, and promises her Paolo will never bother her again. She invites him upstairs, hopefully for a shower and to do each others’ hair because lord have mercy they both need it.
Mr. Rapey Snake on Two Wheels is traveling down a dark road and sees a luscious lovely with her head under her car’s hood and her shapely bootie acting as a bug light for perverts. He stops, introduces himself and is immediately beaten to a pulp and stabbed by Gabino’s pals. They toss him in the trunk and give Paolo’s bike to the chica as payment. I think Gabino would like this chick if he weren’t so obsessed by the Orange Ojitos.

Abismo de pasión #133 9/19/12: Dam/Elisa finally find their circle of love(Fantasy Island, anyone?) while the hen house is out of control back in La Ermita... does anyone there work at all anymore?

Gab/Carm: with me you have a REAL man…
Paolo/Flo: I am leaving… ok, go. I am staying, my dad was buried here. Why? None of your bidness. Its cause of Kike? Bye.
Palo/Kike: I came up with one more stoopid decision made. I’m leaving town so I give you back your word of marriage. Go talk to Gael. No. cause no, your situation and mine are not the same. Flo is free, and I know she loves you and you love her...
Loopy/Alfie: I got a whole bucket list before I ‘go’. Have to talk to my boy and apologize. It was not my fault, I did not help Flo trick him. She deceived me too. I am also afraid all my life I have been wrong. If I am no longer around, you have to find out the truth… what truth?... (she takes a breath and leans over, Loopy fears time is up on little botox sis)
At beach, Elisa gallops away on Damian. Poor Dam falls to sand devastated.
Lo Nuevo:
Carmina has debriefed Gabino and he is sitting on a rocking chair, hand bandana dirtier than ever… blue head band… Carmina at his feet like a door mat (weird to see her in this position when she has always called the shots on her relationships), they are enjoying the chat about all the folks who have had a streak of bad luck lately… Gabino swears to Carmina that he will get Alfie to ally with Carmina to destroy Elisa.
At hacienda, Tonia is worried talking to Loopy. Maybe Dona Alf is faking it… not this time. Edmundo confirms that Alfie is seriously ill … have to get her to agree to let a cardiologist see her, try to get her sent to Merida hospital.
Elisa gets to a small pharmacy/store near beach, calls Lucio. Lucio is excited to hear from her finally. He asks her where she is… she seems to think about it on the spot, then does not tell. She just tells him that she is ok and not to worry. Hangs up. Lucio passes the news to Lolita. Lolita says it doesn’t add up. They need to let Gael know.
Back to Alfie’s bed and her bucket list… sorry Loopy, letting a cardiologist examine her is not on her bucket list, so no go. All items on her list have the name Damian on them. Loopy asks her to clarify what is it she was wrong about. But then Tonia interrupts them to tell her Gabino is there to see her urgently. Loopy wants to send him away but Alfie wonders if Gabino has news on Damian or wants to talk of something important. Loopy says ‘as always it will be done as you want’(como siempre, como tu quieras). Alfie wabbles her way to couch. Gabino comes and gives her some small talk and reminds her when she asked him to bring Dam/Elisa when they escaped as kids. Alfie not willing to deal with him again. He is not so sure, he could go find them again. Alfie wonders the price of that task. The stock? Gabino says I voluntarily offer you the plane tickets I have here with me. (Alfie is suddenly very interested) He claims the tickets are of no value for him, she says Ingrid has told me otherwise, she assured me the name on the ticket is another woman. Gab turns it around on Ingrid. What II sold you was her own pride. She knew that planting doubt in you would make you drool harder for the tickets. Gab suddenly has a painful twitch and twists his head in pain… voices a tantrum about II swearing he was the man of her life, only to turn on him and shoot him on the head. Alfie not quite feeling sorry for him. She knows II is B… but you are not that far behind… I don’t trust you either. Gab says he came in peace. Gives her the tickets. If you never had a proof that Rosie and Stefie were lovers, here it is. I hope you will find a good way to thank me for them and for realizing you were right. Alfie can’t hide the pride/satisfaction. Find my son and Elisa pronto, then we will sit to negotiate.
At beach, Elisa gets back and notices Dam has high fever. HE wakes up and wonders if he is dreaming or if she is really back. She gives him pain/fever meds she got at the store for him. (DZ is doing a good job with acting feverish, crossing his arms trying to keep himself warm)… she helps him take the pills with water. Then lets him lay down again. HE asks her ‘no me dejes’ (don’t leave me). She won’t. He needs to rest. She notices he has his amulet on his neck. After Dam is asleep again, Elisa takes the papers out of the leather bag. Reads the divorce document… then Flo’s letter. Elisa visibly impactada.
At hacienda, Loopy comes back to Alfie’s room. What did Gab come to? To remind me that Stefie, Carmina or Elisa.. the Bouvier Supremes, are guilty of my past and my present misery…
At cenote, Gael is upset/irate, grabbing a tree and is going beserk screaming and crying, taking his anger to another notch… Paloma watches him crying from the other side of cenote. I(somehow i can see Gael as the big bad wolf blowing the beach hut down...) Then Paloma goes home to Ramona. She understands Gael’s anger, but she can’t sit and wait for the day Dam and Elisa return to watch Gael take revenge on them. Ramona says there is a way to detour Gael’s anger/focus. Paloma says no, won’t tell him. Don’t want him to know.. ever!. Won’t marry Kike now. Pal admits Ramona was right in everything. ‘you don’t say!’ (no me digas!) Just add it to my tab list of mistakes. So what now? I am going far away. Will start over elsewhere. Ramona ironically says then we will never see each other again. Paloma asks her to come with her. Ramona makes Paloma wait until next segment… Nah!, my place is here. Paloma is afraid they won’t see each other again. Ramona does not really want to see Paloma make it alone with a child. Think about it. Running away won’t make you get over your feelings for Gael. Paloma knows that but will avoid seeing him daily. Maybe will be able to start over and be happy elsewhere. Ramona says you are right, you will never be happy as long as Gael loves someone else, Elisa is tattooed in his gut…Only death would make Gael stop loving her.
At beach, Elisa is frantically looking for her amulet that she threw away… can’t find it. She comes back to hut. (have to note her dress is miraculously white still…) she brings a lamp over to Dam, it is nighttime now. Dam wakes up, seems his fever has let down some, she smiles. He is better, I think. He asks her why she came back. She felt remorse to leave him behind ill. HE is not getting it. Why did she worry if she was set on killing him. She never meant to kill him. But he questions that, she is not willing to argue so she gets up. HE will bring her back to LaErmita tomorrow. He has got it that she does not want to be with him, but with Gael.
Now they are sitting at a table. Not exactly a very lady-like posture on Elisa, so I hope Lolita will be around to teach Elisa’s kids a more proper behavior for young ladies… Elisa notes the owner of the hut has been really nice to them bringing them food. Elisa had to give her earrings to the pharmacy guy for the meds. Dam will get them back for her. Elisa plays nurse/mom on him, have to finish the meds. Thank you. NP. Dam stands up but gets dizzy. Elisa worries his fever is back, caresses his face. He gives her back her amulet, saying maybe she dropped it. He puts it on her, and is about to kiss her… close but no cigar. She turns away. He grabs his straw mat and is heading out. She says you can’t sleep outside feeling ill. She follows him out, she won’t allow him to sleep alone out there. HE asks if she really worries for him. She says more than I wish. They kiss slow and passionately… BU-YA!!! (somehow I am let down by the scene… is it lack of chemistry? Is it that they are two stoopid youts who have no clue what they feel? Not sure) Her undies are very lacey… shorty shorts, what else?
At Lucio’s Gael is mad that Lucio did not get more info. He is not even sure Elisa is as ‘ok’ as she said she is. Easy for everyone to criticize him if they are not in his shoes. Lucio compares him to Augusto after Stefie’s accident. Gael himself criticized him for going on self-destruct mode. Gael says now he understands Augie. And even justify him. Just like him, my best friend stole the woman of my life!!
Back to lovebirds in the dark beach… tell me I am not dreaming. Tell me you are here with me and it is not a fever delirium. I am with you here. Loving you as I always dreamed to do. Need you to tell me you love me.. I love you. I love you as I have never loved before. I will always love you. My Elisa… tonight you are mine, only mine!...
At quinta, Lolita comes over to tell Carmina Elisa called to say she is ok. Carmina tries to mock Lolita that Elisa is only following her mom’s footsteps but Lolita won’t have any. Sad that a woman like you, having had a chance to have it all, would finish … (asi) like this (making gesture with fingers of something small/insignificant). Carmina demands Lolita leave the keys, Lolita fakes handing them over to her but ends up walking away and dropping them on the foyer table (nice touch, Lolita!)
Paolo and Gabino meet at the Rincon café… Paolo mocks Gabino on being the new boy-toy for Carmina. Gabino says we were destined to be together and I have waited long to be with her in the conditions I wanted. But let me tell you Carmina is a darn plague with no cure. Gabino brags nothing can finish him off, not even a bullet in the head. Paolo says don’t worry about me I will be gone tomorrow. Gabino denies owing him anything, and if you appreciate your filthy life, just go away. On his way out Paolo leaves him a final comment a la Gerry Springer… that bullet in the head is playing you… Two guys sitting at next table follow Paolo out and since Gabino turned and watched it happen, we could 'infer' that Paolo's breaths left are numbered... (thank you Ann-NYC and EJ for noting that, totally missed it) (I have a question... does Gabino really believe he is ALL THAT that Carmina will stay true and loyal to him for good? poor Gabino, dream on! you are just one of her 'peons' she uses to make her moves.)
At hacienda, Edmundo is commenting with Loopy that Alfie needs further tests, the EKG showed some irregularities. What she has is a blockage in the heart (sounds mighty serious... ). He can’t force her to admit herself to hospital. The cardiologist set up a rigorous treatment plan for her, she has to follow it strictly. Loopy will do his best to convince her to go.
Gael stops by quinta to find out if Carmina has heard of Elisa… Carmina tries another swing at feeding his jealousy saying Elisa still oves Dam. Gael avoids the shot again … missed again Carmina! (actually, I bet Gael doesn’t even believe what he responded to Carmina, that Elisa now loves him, but that is another matter, he did not allow Carmina to get her hit).
