Caray, Caray!

*The recap for #35 will be up some time on Saturday. 

1.  Juan is telling Juli that once the child is born,  he will receive all of the love that he didn't get  BUT he wants the paternity test results ASAP.  Juli takes that as an opening to tell Juan that he needs to be close to the baby and that she is open to forming a family with him because she loves him and always will. She  hugs him but looks shifty. 

2. Mateo is at the garage working on his motorcycle.  Tempted by the beer he finds, he opens it, and thinks back on his conversation with Juan. Next, he remembers crying and cradling his father's ashes swearing to God he would never drink again. Just as he is going to take a drink, Brandon runs in and grabs the bottle out of his hand. Mateo tells him to butt out; this is a grown up thing. Brandon explains that  he came by to clean the horses and wanted to stop by and say "hi"  to Mateo. He didn't mean to interfere but he considers Mateo a really good person. He is grateful for the help that Mateo gave him with his robot. He shows Mateo the robot he built. Mateo is proud of what a good job he has done. Mateo offers to help him out with a few things. Brandon is one happy kid.

Pedro, Lucas and Mateo are eating, talking about Sara and the business in general, when Pedro gets a news buzz on his phone, announcing that Meester Henry (heh) is dead. He tells his brothers about this and suggests that Juan might have had something to do with it, he was very upset with Henry when they last spoke. Modesto interferes to defend Juan. Mateo also tells his siblings Julieta is pregnant. Pedro can barely contain his glee. 

Simon has come to see Paloma since she's not answering any of his calls. They start arguing about Sara again, the subject of the wedding is brought up and Paloma says she's not so sure about getting married anymore. And it's not only Simon's treatment of his sister, but also the fact that she's about to graduate and would like to start working, build her career. She also calls Simon a machista, thinks he should start therapy again and adds that she's not breaking up with him because she loves him so much, but the wedding is off for now. 

Sara finally wakes up from her coma and remembers the moments of the attack. She sees Juan and asks if Pedro is OK. Juan reassures her.

Simon has plenty of "nice" things to say about Sara: the “I hope she dies” (!!), “she is coming between us” and the old reliable “everything is her fault”. Juan gets mad (I mean, MAD!), not even Modesto can stop him from punching Simon (not enough, in my opinion). He also says that nobody will ever be able to separate him from Sara, not even the sorry excuse of a brother that Simon has become.

At the hospital Pedro watches petrified as the doctors try to resuscitate Sara and he flashes back to hours earlier, at the conference, when Henry asked if he’d like him to “scare” Sara just a little bit. OMG, Pedro, no you didn’t! Back to the present, he has tears in his eyes, realizes that he went too far (ya think?!), but is it too little, too late? Nope, the doctors manage to revive Sara… for now.

 FYI  Capítulo 31's notes will be posted sometime on Saturday. It could be later in the afternoon. 

Now on with #30.  

The Appetizer--

* Sara and Pedro are at the Avocado Congress in Morelia. Juan is having breakfast at the hacienda. Lucas is on his phone monitoring the proceedings so they will be able to see Sara's presentation.  Juli joins Juan and Lucas still not understanding how Juan could trust Sara when she lost them millions of pesos. Juan admits it was also his fault and he trusts her. Dante and Deb arrive. Mateo says he saw them both at a restaurant. Deb decides to be the instigator and asks Juli is she has known Mateo since they were kids or just since they slept together. Juli throws a glass of water on Deb. Deb gets up and returns the favor. Juan stops the fight. Deb tells Juli she is just like her mother and that she will not be turning the other cheek like her daughter would only to get slapped again. Juan orders her out but Deb isn't going anywhere until her daughter, the owner of hacienda, returns. She vociferously defends Sara. Juli surprises everyone by asking Deb and Dante what they have  going on between them. A surprised Dante plays the wronged party and tells Juli that she offends them. Deb tells him to pay Juli no mind because she is only that way since finding out that  Sara and Juan are novios.  Juli tries to attack a smirking Deb but Juan stops her. He doesn't want anyone causing anymore scandals but asks if Deb and Dante have something going on himself. Deb explains that they have a good friendship that grew over time when  Severiano forgot about her and her daughter.  Dante says he gave them money so they could support themselves which he would have done for any woman without anyone to support her.  He is a man of integrity and asks them to stay out of his personal business.  Lucas has been watching Sara's presentation at the congress and is shocked at what he is seeing. He shows Juan. Juan knows he never should have left her go without him. At the same time, Dante has gotten a phone call and needs to talk to Juan in private immediately.

 1. The brothers talk in the  office at home. Pedro sarcastically announces that Simón's mother-in-law is alive and is just another one of their father's lovers. Simón tells him to put that topic to rest and that next weekend he is marrying Paloma. Pedro cannot resist making things as bad as he can and asks what proof does Simón have that  Paloma isn't  his sister.  Simón remembers his father Severiano insisting that he end his relationship with Paloma without giving him a good reason  except he didn't want him to suffer. Juan is sick of Pedro and his sarcasm. Pedro acknowledges "Saint" Juan's concern and jokingly tells his little brother that  it was just a joke. Juan talks about the seriousness of getting married and if Simón has made that decision, Juan supports him and congratulates him. Lucas is taken aback that Juan isn't going to oppose the wedding.  Juan says he would never oppose something that made his brothers happy.  Pedro takes umbrage with that saying that Juan has always supported his brothers that don't share a drop of his blood, but he, who does, is a different story.  He kicks him in the rear any time he can. Juan tells him not to try to manipulate his brothers and that he is just as important as their other brothers are to him. However, if he is talking about getting sole custody of Tadeo, he knows how he feels and he will support him  in the legal process only. They cannot play with the law. Simón brings the topic of the wedding back into focus saying that he is going to ask Modesto and Agustín to organize it.  He cannot wait until Paloma comes to live with him. That infuriates Lucas. Pedro asks what is going on between Lucas and Simón. Lucas says nothing but then informs Juan that Agustín  cannot do a thing to help with the wedding because  Pedro fired him. That is news to Juan. Pedro says he must have forgotten to tell them but the old man doesn't work there anymore and he won't be returning.

 Here is a quick outline of last night's episode, I had a draft written but I forgot to save it so I'm kind of writing this from memory and from some quick notes I had. 

Juan threatens Mr. Henry to ruin him and Pedro seems rattled for real, too. I mean, calling Juan's mom a prostitute also concerns him, so... Juan wonders who told Henry about their mom. Pedro plays dumb.

They talk about Sara, but Juan makes it clear that as much as he loves his brother, he will never give up on Sara for him - he can ask him anything, but that. Pedro pretends to be mortified over his feelings, he's trying to keep them in check the best he can. Poor tormented soul...brings a tear to my eyes.

Julieta "warns" Simon that Sara is a very very bad woman, she is sleeping with both Juan and Pedro at the same time, trying to turn one brother against the other. Simon belives her, but to his credit, points out that Julieta was playing with Juan, too, hiding her past with Mateo. Pot, meet kettle. He practically drags her out.

Busy day today, so this is a quick one. A lot of screaming and fighting (again), if I missed something, feel free to add in the comments. 

Pedro wants to take over as President. Juan is surprised his brother would hold such a grudge, Lucas and Sara think they should focus on solving the problems they have now. People are starting to call Juan, so he decides to have a conference to make an official statement.

Bryan is searching for Jess and his mom, but Don Augie has no clue where they are… Geez, Bryan's also hungry, maybe he should prepare his own food, right? He's afraid Jess will never get used to their life.

Salvador is still whining about bad Irma, even as Modesto asks him to forget about it. Adela arrives with bad news: Irma is back! Caray! Salvador only hopes that woman won’t cause any more pain. Adela realisez Paloma knows her mom is alive and encourages Sal: Paloma is a smart girl, she’ll understand why he had to lie.

Sara wants Pedro to go with her to the congress. She tells Juan she doesn’t feel like going with him after the way he spoke to her in front of Julieta. Juan is hurt she can’t understand how important the company is for him. He is sorry for the way he behaved, but he won’t stop asking for irreproachable behavior at work (how sexy! Ugh…). Sara is not impressed.

Paloma fights with Salvador about his lies concerning her mother’s death. Modesto thinks he should tell Paloma the truth! Salvador pulls out the briefcase that contains everything she has to know about her mother – a whole bunch of letters Irma sent her ever since she left. Paloma opens a letter and as she starts reading she realizes her father knows it by heart. Her mom apologizes for her past, she only left because she felt very ashamed after her affair with Severiano. But she loves her and she always thinks of her. Then Salvador adds that her mom is alive and Paloma starts sobbing. She accuses him of being selfish, not being man enough to face it all.

This is in no way complete or in any particular order. Feel free to add anything I skipped. 

* Now,  let me get this straight. This was a hard one to understand.  After Juan telling Sara about the wonders of working together as husband and wife,  he is still sticking it to her about her maybe being responsible for the fertilizer debacle. I couldn't believe it and neither could Sara with Juan sermonizing again about how work is work and one's private life is one's private life.  He supports gloating Juli when she comes in with "proof" that Sara's  fertilizer was responsible for decimating the crop.  Juli is so fearful that the prestige and reputation of the company has been ruined by this incident. Nothing like this has "ever"  happened. Juan agrees 100%. 

*Sara and Juli have a good cat fight where nothing is achieved but the delivery of good putdowns. Juli tells Sara she will never give up on Juan and  that Sara doesn't deserve him because she is a social climber just like her mother. Sara is not pleased and warns her to leave her and her mother alone. 

* Juli calls Pedro to tell him that things are rocky between Sara and Juan so he can take advantage of the situation.

* Earlier, Juan had warned Sara about Pedro wanting to romance her and how good he was at it.
