Amores Verdaderos #54 Thu 1/24/13 No hay peor ciego... ni peor sordo (there is no blinder man.... nor more deaf ears ... )
Refritos: At poolside, Nikki and her friend ‘ninito’ keep mocking Frankie, Frankie leaves after trying to keep his head up high with the visitor, Nikki and said ninito plan to get Polita fired, Niki refused to get Frankie fired or in trouble.
At her ‘not so private’ studio room, Vicky is looking at hundreds of her reflections and reflecting that all the recent events have created a catharsis in her soul. (I bet!)… and reads the poem she wrote inspired in her experiences… Alerta-Sina realizes Vicky just wrote an anagram (acrustico) … Angel is watching and listening from the top of the stairs. Tomasina says this must mean you have fallen in love with JAA. Vicky laughs it off, saying it is silly.Tomasina insists, her subconscious/soul spoke for her… ‘mas claro ni el agua’. Vicky insists Tomasina is wrong. She had never written a poem, how could my first be for Arriaga? Tomasina insists, if you are not in love now, you will! It is written for a water tiger and a fire dragon like the two of you.
Lo Nuevo:
Arriaga comes in, asks for leave so he can go talk to his wife to try to get her to understand how things happened… Vicky offers to go with him, he refuses, that would be like adding fuel to the fire (of course!, how silly of her to offer at all!). Arriaga leaves, Vicky hopes he will make Cris understand (wishful thinking, sister!).
At the car, Dances is talking to the lawyer, asking him to make that ‘loser’(Espanto) believe you will really get him out of jail. He hangs up. ‘problem solved’.
At MI offices, Bea is attending a phone call. It is Leo faking the voice tone. HE realizes she is receptionist there. Lets see how long it lasts you, chatita of mine…. Chatita of mine.
Cris, our leading racer in the blind and deaf ears contest… is on phone with her mother Candelaria. Cande is in disbelief of what Cris tells her JA did. (I don’t remember, does Candelaria know who JA works for?) Cande says can’t believe that of him after he has been faithful for over 20 yrs. Cris insists it all changed when he met that rich brat lady. Cande asks what will you do? Cris is clueless of next move. Cris basically invites herself to move out to her mom’s place. Mom is ok with it. Love you… yap yap…
Cris hangs up, tells Paula she has decided. She and Lilli are moving to Alamos with her mother today. Lilli comes out and takes the news like someone died, runs away upset. Paula asks ‘are you sure of what you are going to do? To destroy your marriage and affect your family?’ (em…. Hello Paula, didn’t you start this ball rolling in the first place by telling Cris the story as if you had seen Vicky and JA in bed together? Maybe it is a bit of reality check… now you can see with your own eyes what it feels to be on the other side of a married man’s affair). Cris goes away to cook and pack. Paula looks worried, if Cande could reveal in her letter to Anibal that they had a daughter, she could reveal it too to Arriaga’s wife! (and that would it make rain daggers at you with Anibal, wouldn’t it?)
Out to Balvanera manor general studio… Vicky is surprised Nil-brain-Son (clueless, blind, deaf runner up) is still there. He puts on a play of being the sacrificial lamb victim: ‘your refusal of making amends is draining out my energy (even to pack your bags and get outadodge??)’
She shrugs her shoulders like ‘what do I care?’ (YOU go GIRL!!) He of course insists he won’t give up. (has to follow her all around the room like a stalker) ‘What do you want?’ to recover you, what else? (lets see, some money? Some free Viagra? A free trip to a little Andres Garcia style pump surgery?? …) he also puts on the skid of asking her to give him another chance for the many years of happiness. Vicky is sad that they were so close to having got to 25 yr anniversary. ‘But those hopes came crashing down when I saw you “playing” with that woman’.
(she is doing a great job at retaining her ‘dignified’ attitude). ‘You knew it, you threw 25 yrs down the drain in a few mins!’. He insists… touches her face, she walks away. ‘I am going to ask you something, please tell the the truth… does that woman mean anything to you?’ ‘course not. Don’t sentence me for one mistake…’ … (she finally breaks down a bit, cries, admits she is in a bind… she thought about it at hacienda… ‘know what I concluded? That our marriage does not mean much to you… that any sweet gesture or my need to be with you while getting rejected constantly… did you think I did not notice? (well, I have my doubts of you CHOSING to ignore some warning signs, so you MIGHT be dumb as you say) … he comes up with a list of excuses… routine, work… but one thing is for sure… I love you … (nose growing?)
Vicky starts lying, ‘that love is in the past… and I warn you I will never be intimate with you again. ‘ He starts to approach her to give another begging speech again, but she walks out of the room leaving him alone with his guilt… she cries hard in hallway on other side of door…
(phew! All that action before first commercial break)
At apt, Cris and Lilli about to head out. Lilli still does not want to leave dad alone. Cris puts her on the fence, either you stay with him and I leave alone or you come with me. (ouch!! I am a mother and that hurts to watch!) Paula is heading out, opens door and Angel is there.
Lilli is all too happy dad is there to try to make amends with ‘blind/deaf mother of the year’ … Cris does not want to talk beyond ‘dos patadas!’ Angel assumes she is headed to Santa Rita, nope, guess again… going to Alamos to live with my mother! (Angel explodes, thinks Alamos is way too far). Lilli gets desperate asking mother to listen to dad. Cris is all too much in a hurry to get going… Angel begs, we have to talk, these decisions have to be made with a cold head( ok I give him points for not engaging in a more offensive way) Cris gets madder, go where you came from, you have more fun with ‘esa vieja!’.. not only you destroyed our marriage, but you want to keep my own daughter! Angel explodes more, I would be incapable of that. Cris insists in calling Vicky his ‘querida’. Angel wants her to stop demanding Lilli quit her job because she does not want to follow Cris and her tantrums. Cris shouts ‘tantrums? We will see if it is just MY tantrums’. She gets Paula to go out with her. Lilli stays behind upset with her dad, she does not want to leave with her mother. She wants to stay with him. (he is in a bind, it hurts to watch…) he gives her a comforting hug since he has no words.
At jail, Dances is convincing Espanto to listen to the lawyer and not give to Anibal’s questioning/pressuring. When you give him the info he wants, he will get rid of your guts.(ouch!) He leaves Esp with Lic Gasca.
Espanto is convinced of Dances’ story. Says Dances is a man of his word. Dances leaves dancing happily his way out singing ‘y besame!...’ But he freezes when he finds himself face to face with Anibal. Anibal asks what u doin here? Dances (after doing his best not to pee his pants) says as family’s chief of security, came to find out if they transferred Espanto. Anibal tells him how he has been getting his lawyer to try to put pressure on Espanto to sing like a canary. Anibal warns Dances, there is no ‘no’ word in my dictionary, so came willing to negotiate with him to give me the name of those thugs. Dances shakes but manages to tell ANibal that he will waste his time since Espanto is sure there are thugs watching him to kill him if he sings. Espanto is not in a position to aspire to be the richest man in jail. Anibal says worse for him, because then he’ll rot in jail (this is right along Dances’ plan).
At apartment, Angel is holding Lilli. Giving her comforting words, hopeful Cris will respond if we are patient. Trust me Chiquita. (somehow this scene brings to me the flash of Abba singing their famous ‘chiquitita’ song. … ‘en tus ojos hay una sombra de gran pena’)
I will do all possible so the three of us will be happy again. I will recover this family, believe me. (ouch! Then if he ends up engaging with Vicky it will be hard pill to swallow for Lilli with all these broken promises). Lilli suggests she stay and not go with Cris. Maybe she would cancel the trip. Angel is not sure, that pressure does not work with your mom. Lilli wants Cris to go alone. In a few days she will miss us and come back. Angel is wondering if she is right. What then? You will live alone in the apt? Lilli asks him if he can ask Vicky if Lilli can live there. Angel says maybe, would just have to talk to her. They cry together… He will miss Cris very much, so will Lilli.
At Balvy manor, Nikki comes to see mami. They hug, another parent daughter scene… She asks Vicky how she is, gives her a hug and immediately turns the attention to herself, she can’t find her friend Inigo. (I smell fishy prank here) Vicky tries to reason about his leaving. Niki says when Polita brought us the lemonade, she started flirting with him. Vicky is doubtful. Niki insists, surely she has cornered him somewhere. Niki insists Vicky go with her looking for her friend. She has to insist several times blackmailing Vicky’s hopes for their mother-daughter relationship. (Niki goes ahead, Vicky tells herself she doubts Polita acting like that). Vicky summons for Frankie to come upstairs. She wants Frankie to help her find Inigo. Frankie thinks to himself ‘all I needed, to have to go find that jerk’. They walk away. Niki laughs her plan working so perfectly.
In Paula’s car, Cris is crying, talking silly, so sad she will lose a friend like Paula, who has helped me out so much. Paula gets some guilt trip and says ‘maybe I am not such a great friend’. Confesses she feels guilty she helped split up Cris and Angel. Cris insists it was not her fault. When her blood gets to her brain, she thinks of Angel and Vicky doing the tango. It is not the first time my husband rolls around with her. (tells her about the hotel night, and that Angel said it was a setup). She can’t forgive him anymore. Hypocrit Paula holds her hand in support.
In Nikki’s room at B manor, Polita is singing loudly while making Niki’s bed. In comes Inigo. Fakes wanting to help her, is stalking her around the room… she gets mad at him… he grabs her and gets on top of her on bed… just in time for Vicky and Frankie walking in. Vicky is surprised. Of course it looks ‘nasty’ for Polita in the compromising pose. Vicky demands explanation, Frankie is speechless, observing. Polita says Inigo was choking her. Inigo says Polita grabbed him. Of course Polita gets mad at his lies and charges him (not in her best interest at this moment, he says ‘see?’). Polita turns to Vicky says ‘I swear…’ Vicky says you come with me, we will have a VERY serious talk. (poor Polita is embarrassed, Frankie is still speechless, a bit jaw-dropped, but I think he is on her side). (in a way I want Frankie to come through for Polita and beat the crap off Inigo). (Nikki runs down the stairs happy go lucky, sure Polita will get fired.) In Niki’s room, Frankie shows his better judgement, ‘It was you. You and Niki are two immature snobby rich kids and came up with this whole prank to get Polita fired.’ Inigo says ‘turn down your blender, it is not our fault your gatita is in heat.’ Frankie gets angry and puts a choke hold on Inigo from behind ‘now laugh it off, you miserable coward!‘ (The whole audience is shouting for joy and cheering ‘BEAT HIM TO A PULP!!’
Vicky is listening to Polita, even though she is a bit open minded still. Polita swears on the virgin she knows her place in the house and would never approach a friend of Nikki’s, she would never go for any man, she is in love. Admits it is the guerito Frankie. Vicky is totally surprised. Polita admits Frankie likes her as a friend but no more. Vicky smirks a smile of satisfaction/relief.
Back in Nikki’s room, she has come to celebrate but finds Frankie still with firm hold on Inigo, asking Nikki to admit what they did was her idea. Your friend was accomplice to try to hurt Polita in Vicky’s eyes. Inigo is hurting, he asks Frankie to respect him. Niki takes the role of ‘righteous’ and asks the two ‘monitos’ to stop arguing… (LOL!)
Polita comes down sad… Nikki assumes victory and puts on a sad face asking Polita if she got fired. Polita turns to Inigo and pushes him down yelling at him that he is the one that pulled her onto the bed. Frankie has to get Polita off Inigo (LOL!! let her, guerito! Let her get justice her own way!) Nikki walks to Inigo’s side, still believing Vicky fell for it. Still mocking/offending Polita who runs away, Frankie gives Nikki a bit of sermon about Nikki owing Polita some respect… then he has to follow Polita who ran away upset. Downstairs, in comes Vicky. She asks Inigo to leave her alone with her daughter. Nikki walks Inigo to the door, then turns around still getting mud all over herself believing Polita got fired. Vicky gives her the ice water bucket in her face saying Polita isn’t going anywhere. I am sure of her innocence. And I would recommend you talk to Inigo, it is not right for him to play pranks on a serious employee like Polita. Nikki insists Polita was lying. Vicky tells her Polita opened her heart, told her she loves Francisco, and Vicky believed her. Niki insists what Polita wants is SEX SEX SEX!! Vicky reprimends Niki on her ‘dirty talk’. Vicky says Polita is just in love with an impossible. Nikki is in disbelief of that. Vicky says according to Polita the problem is Frankie loves someone else. (now I am seeing Nikki as the third blind deaf in the episode) Nikki insists Frankie seduces everyone.
At his room at B house, Angel looks devastated. Dear God… dear God. Tell me what I need to do to make Cris believe I never betrayed her. What should I do so she won’t leave me. Help me God… Enlighten me.
(...and I was feeling sorry for Rodrigo in Destilando, but Angel takes the cake here) He remembers Vicky giving him the cross chain and in tough moments it will help him very much. He losens tie and grabs the cross chain, prays some more holding it. Lord give me strength and faith, don’t want to lose my family. Don’t let it happen. (kisses it)
At KenDrat’s, Odiosa is questioning KenDrat since she had promised Odiosa that by now Nil-Brain-Son and Vicky would be split. Kendrat gets irritated, says that night ‘la gorda’ of his wife was going to see us doing the pow-wow in his office. Odiosa says she got a smaller brain that she thought (like minds/brains attract each other?) I paid you a bundle to destroy the Balvanera marriage. That is all I care about!
Kendrat gets even more mad. She planned the fake suicide to blackmail Bris. Odiosa says you better bring out your heavy artillery, I need results ASAP!.. Kendrat says we have another issue. Odiosa says that is your problem. Kendrat says Dances has been supporting her in all her moves, but lately he is distancing himself. Odiosa says you better find a way to solve that issue. For now, trying to win points with the B house cook to gain more control. We must attack from all fronts.
Said cook, Jean Marie is tasting something Odiosa sent him… he is putting away all the ‘cow products’ stuff back in cooler. Tomasina comes in and JM gets scared so cooler lands on floor spilling all its contents around. Tomasina puts two and two together since cooler has a pink bow in it. ’More gifts from the same cow?? SO Ms Victoria has a traitor under her roof? How can you eat all this junk? ‘ (turns out the items are samples of some brand of dairy products named ‘la misma vaca’[= the same cow] LOL!!) JM explains the target he is after is ‘la vaca’s’ son. Tomasina insist there can be nothing between JM and that man.
JM can’t think of anyone but him. Tomasina advises him not to even mention the surname Longoria in this house.
Out comes Angel, asking Tomasina if Vicky is at home, could he talk to her? He needs to ask her if his daughter Lilli can live here in the house. Tomasina concludes correctly that he could not make amends with his wife. JM notices the cross necklace and is admiring it.
Out comes Nil-Brain-Son… asking for Salsero. Then Nil-Brain-Son immediately notices the cross necklace. Asks him in ‘few friends’ tone where he got the cross. Angel admits Vicky gave it to him. Nil-Brain-Son rips the necklace right off Angel and walks away mad (bad move, jerk!). Angel is going to go after him, but Tomasina stops him. Angel says ‘this guy’ is filling my liver. Does he believe I stole it? Do I look like a thug?
Back at apartment, Cris is saying better Angel had left because she did not want to say goodbye to him. Lilli drops the bomb on her, then you better say goodbye to me. Because I don’t want to go with you. Cris is floored. Paula excuses herself out of that battlefield. Cris tells Lilli she does not decide for herself. Lilli says she is old enough. If you want to go then go, but I am not going with you…. / You cannot do that to me. You are my daughter! / I know. And I won’t forget. But my dad is sad because you are mad at him. When will you realize he did nothing wrong? That is why I am staying with him. / I can’t believe it. / sorry mom, but I can’t stay with the side that does not have the reason. /and where will you live? You can’t stay with Paula. / At B manor. With my dad.
Back at B battlefield…
Nil-Brain-Son berates Vicky on Angel wearing the cross. Vicky confirms she gave it to him. Then she demands he go apologize to Arriaga since she is sure he took it from Angel against his will. He says he won’t ever lower himself to apologize to any employee, least of all Arriaga! (throws cross on bed) (Niki is approaching the door of the bedroom from outside so she can hear what follows) Vicky says we better revisit what just happened. Nil-Brain-Son does not ‘get it’ why they have to. Vicky says his reactions are getting ridiculous. He says ridiculous is for you to have given this gold cross to Arriaga knowing the sentimental value it has for the family! That is ridiculous!! Vicky explodes telling him she saw him making love to a redhead in his office but she stayed quiet. (Niki gets instantly upset, cries).
Previews:
Angel cries saying to Vicky he is confused. Cris catches him and Vicky in potential compromising situation. We see Cris slapping Angel, then Vicky shouts to Cris that the Arriaga couple needs to talk alone. Cris grabs her back ‘no! you don’t go anywhere!!’ and has Vicky and Angel stand side by side facing her.
Recapper arguable comments: Definitely in this episode some folks were totally rational in their decisions(Vicky, Lilli, Tomasina, Frankie) and arguments while others (Nil-Brain-son, Cris, Nikki, ?)… blind and deaf only begins to scratch the surface of their problem…

Snotty Bitch is being kicked out and Cayetano won't budge. Mariano tries to talk him out of it, but Cayetano says there's no way he'll back down--not only is he the head of the family and owner of the ranch, he's the offended party! Everyone looks sick and worried, except for Ileana who's grinning a little bit. Mariano can't get him to calm down. Yes, Cayetano, calm down so Isadora has a chance to kill you herself…once she's got her hands on your ranch.
Dionisio, talking with the La Malquerida office door open, calls Isadora to tell her that the letters got into Cayetano's hands after all. Eluterio is inside the house, for some strange reason, so he gets to overhear Dionisio's end of the convo. Isadora gloats that Camila helped her out after all. Dio gets up to shut the door, but he never sees Eluterio. Eluterio continues listening through the closed door as Dionisio talks about how they were wrong to think La Malquerida was an easy target, with nothing but an old man, a woman, and a depressed girl, while La Buenaventura was guarded by four men. Dio lets slip Isadora's name. Isa is busy bragging about how easily men are led around by the penis. She's confident in her continued ability to do so. Dionisio thought bubbles that he won't let Camila marry Daniel and he'll keep fighting until Camila is his.

“Teflon” Modesto is telling trying to understand Eugenia and as usual doesn’t want to talk in detail to anyone, especially not Eugenia. He doesn’t want to start an argument and does what he can do best- walk away from the situation.
Mendoza tries to put the moves on Eva while Adriano is eavesdropping.
Renato bursts into Rebeca’s office and tells her that he is fed up with her little indirect hits and him being gay. Oh well she was only joking. Yeah right!! She asks him what did Adriano think if he knew that his right hand man is gay- Boom!! How about I show the cd that you have of the company’s emails- Boom!! Renato, you scored and your boom had a little vogue step!!! You go!!! The only thief and nosy body here is you, Rebeca, they already caught you in the fraud with Fernando and now the cd. Renato warned her to stop her comments or he will show Adriano the cd- with the emails. She has been served!!!! She tires to threaten Renato but he will not back down. She says that she will skin him alive, She is a Siberian (isn’t that a tiger?) She says its between dog and wolf (I could be wrong,) She starts making animal sounds. What an idiot!
Mendoza asks Eva about the costume party under the watchful eye of Don Adriano. Eva tells Mendoza that she is great at disguises. Mendoza can go as Adam and Eva as Eva. Eva smacks him around, and Adriano interrupts the festivities.
Pluti stops Helena in the hallway and of course wants to talk to her. He only wants to talk to her about work in his office.
Eva explains that she and Mendoza were only talking about the costume party. Rulis asks Adriano what is coming to the parry dressed as? An ogre?? Hahaha, hehehe, everyone but Adriano is laughing.
Adriano is jealous and Eva tells him not to be jealous, she is faithful.
Another Avon commercial- Mimi is looking for a new perfume from Fergie. Her clients have been asking for it.
Helena is in Pluti’s office talking about a press conference and he is not paying one bit of attention. He is drooling at Helena and she feels uncomfortable. He starts on his love rampage. Helena is the soul of the project, so Helena uses that as a segue into the question- Playa Mayagua comes from Antonia’s (may she rest n peace) thesis, right? Pluti has the “duh” look. The two old geezers comment that Adriano’s assistant isn’t what he seems (making gay gestures). Renato pits the old boys in their place and tells them that they are too old to listen to such foolishness.
Helena wants to clarify the theme of the thesis. It served as the basis for the Playa Mayagua Project? She asks if he knows it by memory. It was Adriano’s idea for her to base her work in the university. Helena, you have a copy, right? Helena has been busy and hasn’t had a chance to return it to him. If we see each other at work it shouldn’t be alone.
Eva is looking for Helena and Lucia reminds her about her upcoming wedding. She must be so happy! Lucia is the go between for Eva and the wedding planner and she has so many ideas. Eva tells Lucia that she has better things to think about than the wedding. Lucia is just wedding central and Eva shuts her down. Its Lucia’s dream to get married. Women have value with or without a man.
Pluti is on the phone talking to someone that he will see when he arrives in Acapulco and then Rebeca bursts into his office. She has some paperwork for him to sign in regards to the 25th anniversary celebration. Pluti tales the pen to sign the documents and Rebeca asks, him- what you are not going to yell at me about Felix?? Are you okay? Cachito?? I’m okay and I forgive you. She tries once again to seduce him and he sends her out of his office. She once again bothers the Virgencita to find out what he is up to without letting anything happen to her.
Santi congratulates Marsela about her presentation at the 25th anniversary. Marsela hopes that Fern the fool will congratulate her too. Santi would like a good woman like Marsela and she tells him that the right woman is under his nose. Of course the blue dresses amp him up.
Jennifer and Daniel are looking over brochures on careers. She is thinking about being an engineer or computer programmer and Daniel is discouraging her. Daniel is very kissy, kissy and wants Jennifer to stop thinking about careers and think about him. She doesn’t seem comfortable with all of the kissing.
Eva, Luca and Helena are chatting briefly about Pluti harassing her, but there are laws to protect women. Lucia comments on the nasty words that Rebeca directed towards Renato, and Eva says that Rebeca is a rattlesnake. Helena is very bothered by the affects of her little jokes towards Renato’s sexual orientation. Helena takes a stand that it’s a personal conviction not a social pressure. Silvia is talking to the lady who she buying the nursery from. The lady is happy is sell it to her. She asks Silvia about an update on her divorce. Is there a settlement? Silvia doesn’t want anything form him and I don’t blame her. Good riddance to bad rubbage! She is entitled to a settlement taking care of the house, cooking and cleaning for thirty years, her daughter says the same thing but she doesn’t want anything.
Silvia thinks about it.
Renato presses the women to fond out what they were talking about. He knows that it has something to do with what Rebeca said, we could care less on what Rebeca has to say,
Juan calls Mimi to see if she was able to make the arrangements for him.
Chepina checks on Claudia to see if she is okay because Eugenia is worried about her and that she won’t do anything crazy. She tells her that she has company downstairs. She unkindly greets Kevin, who came to see her because he was worried about her. She wasn’t answering her cell and has mussed music classes. He wanted to know what happened with the joke with Dona Eugenia. Forget about it, Kevin. Poor lovesick Kevin gives her his love poem. She wasn’t thrilled.
Eva is giving Helena a little pep talk about her upcoming visit with Juan Carlos. Just let it flow.
Claudia breaks Kevin’s heart. She is just not that into him. Poor Kevin. She tells him to find someone his own age. This was sad for Kevin. (2 strikes, first Candi, now Claudia, he needs to find a girl whose name doesn’t begin with “C”) She is leaving Mexico. Eugenia recognizes him and he tells her that he is Fernando and Marsela’s son and Juan Carlos’ godson and he studied music with Claudia. She noted that he looks sad.
Eugenia asked Claudia if Kevin had anything to do with the nasty little casting joke. But Claudia retorted, he is too young, too immature for that. Why are you worrying about me? You will be free of me soon. -(Not soon enough!!)
Helena goes to visit Mad Dad who is now to me- Too Bad Dad. Ed is surprised to see Helena because their last visit wasn’t a pleasant one. I didn’t think that you would ever speak to me again. Helena wanted to apologize. (The visit when he was trying to make her go back to Pluti) He continues to insult his daughter asking if she is still thinking about that Juan Carlos
Marsela gets home early and asks Jennifer –where’s Kevin.
Helena just wanted to check on Too Bad So Sad Dad and see if he needed anything and he snaps back at her. She asked him why couldn’t you even speak nicely to me; you treat me like an enemy. He wants Helena to ask her mom something for him.
Poor lovelorn Kevin comes home.
Too Bad Dad is not in agreement that Silvia wants nothing from him. He wants Helena to convince Silvia to accept a payment from him. She deserves it. She is surprised. He says that the house is too big for him, it's empty. He didn’t think that he would spend his last days here, alone. Oh well. Helena gives Dad a goodbye kiss. He looks sad, but its too late for me, I’m not sure about the rest of viewerville.
Marsela and Jennifer are chatting about the 25th anniversary, making dinner and note how sad Kevin is. Marsela asks him if he is okay and he yells- to stop asking a million times about how he feels, leave him alone and stop asking about me. (Don’t you just love teenagers??) Fernando scolds him, he and Marsela argue and Kevin goes to his room.
Helena meets Juan. Helena wants to talk about the thesis, but Juan stops her. He wants another opportunity to show her how much he loves her. H covers her eyes and a lovely angelic orchestra (all female) is playing their song. She thought bubbles to the time when he asked her to be his girlfriend. So romantic and then she belts him one. Que the hell!!! What is Helena’s problem? Pluti has lied to both she and Lalo and he hasn’t receive a smack. What’s up with that?? I am impactada.
At Grupo Imperio-Lucia is tired after a long day and Santi has news. He has rented his apartment. He is also looking for love on the internet. Lucia doesn’t think that that is a romantic way to find women.
Helena (acting like her father) told Juan that she has begged him not to do such romantic things. It brings up the most difficult times in her life. Juan figured that since she was free he would show her what she means to him. Juan thought that they broke up because she loved him. She didn’t break up with Pluti for him it was for herself, yeah right. She knew that she couldn’t be happy with Pluti. (Hello, Helena, you can’t be happy because you love Juan) Helena thinks that he is trying to seduce her like he seduced all of the other women and how Juan Peron seduced her. She gives him back his ring.
Santi goes on his internet date. He enters the restaurant looking for Vanessa. He likes what he sees. Vanessa wants to have drinks, chat and have sex, all in that order! She is a busy woman. Wow!!
Helena can’t get over the fact that Juan was a ladies man. Juan says that he has deceived her but that was in the past. Juan- you say that you have changed but you can’t give me what I want and Juan seriously doesn’t know what it is. He asks and Helena walks away, saying that he doesn’t understand anything.
Coming attractions: Everyone is at Acapulco for the anniversary and Pluti approaches Helena and asks for forgiveness. (What else is new? Is she going to slap him? Of course not! Helena meets with the construction foremen from FITSA and he says Pluti’s name.

Rocio is still playing the victim, telling Mariano it hasn’t
been easy keeping her secret. She asks
her sons to help Cayetanto realize that (how difficult it’s been for her). Yago thinks it was a shock, the manner in
which they found out. Rocio swears if it
had been up to her, they never would have found out. She never would have been the one to hurt
them so badly. Refugio is sitting in the
background, still giving Rocio the ol’ stinkeye. Mariano understands but says the deception
and then the cover up only makes everything worse. Rocio asks him to
understand. Has he thought of his father
in the jail? That’s what would have
happened had she told him about the affair, er, rape. That’s why she preferred to carry this
secret, eating away at her soul for such a long time.

Por ella soy Eva #130 1/22/13: Mimi is The Dog That Doesn't Have Two Sandwiches.
- Eva continues to ask every dame in sight: What is "that," the thing women want from men? "Stuffed animals." "Too bad you can't ask Juan Carlos, he knew how to conquer a queen, he was divine!"
- Barging into a content-free conference between the bescarved Renato and the besotted Adri, Mimi asks: "What does Eva have that I don't have? Would you have gone for me if Eva had never existed?"
"Well then I wouldn't have known you. But really - you're sexy and you smell good, but I'm in love with Her! With Her essence! She understands me as no woman has ever understood me."
Mimi watches him with tears in her eyes and leaves promising she'll never bring this up again: "Adios."
- Helena tells Eva: a second version of Antonio's thesis has surfaced.
- Mimi's hard-working receptionist tells her Dagoberto is gone, having left a rose and a (stupidly rhyming) note. Mimi tells Juan she'd hoped Dagoberto could be a distraction from her unrequited love of Adri, and now, nothing!
Juan tries to cheer her up but she refuses: "Let me suffer! Don't interrupt. I continue... I'm the dog with two sandwiches that gets neither of them." He tries to tell her about life being full of flowers but she points out he's never brought her flowers, not once, so he should just shut up.
- Eugenia tells Eva it was Renato who ratted on Claudia. Eugenia laughs about the "it" that a woman wants, but she doesn't tell JC what it is.
- Reb mocks Pluto for working late. "You haven't worked so hard since we initiated the jacuzzi business meetings a decade ago." She nibbles his tie. "Ugh, give it up, not even my wife the whale humiliated herself this way."
- Helena reads the newly-discovered version of Antonia's thesis and calls Juan, marvelling: "It's completely different from the one I saw before. Nothing in it is like my project. It couldn't have been the basis of Playa Majagua, so GI robbed me openly. I don't know if this is enough to prove it. I used to blame you, but if it wasn't you, then who?" She lets it slip that she broke her engagement to Pluto.
She wonders who changed the thesis to coincide with her project. She reluctantly agrees to have coffee with Juan the next day. Helena prays: "Help me not lose my head over him again." Juan prays: "Give me a hand, help me win back the love of my life."
- Renato mulls the encoded disk he pilfered from Rebeca.
- Fer looks bitter and bored in his bib at the dinner table while Marcela drones on about liking her job and the camera dotingly focuses on their quart of LALA MILK.
- Rebe and Pluto squabble as usual. Hapless hacker Felix shows up with a cd for her. Pluto snatches it, Rebe snatches it back, it falls, Felix crushes it under his heel. Rebe says it's just photos of Ricky Martin.
Pluto: "How long have you been working here, Felix? Who gave you your job? How has she conquered you?" "I needed the money for my ancient grandma."
Pluto is so pissed he pays Onesimo to hire thugs to mug Felix. They grab him, beat him up, Onesimo gives him his severance pay as he lies bleeding on the sidewalk.
- Claudia sulks in bed. She tells Eugenia: "My mom was afraid I'd end up with a married man the way she did." Eugenia promises not to tell Modesto something.
Modesto wants to send Claudia to juvie. Eugenia doesn't.
- When Onesimo drops in to see Rebeca at home (hoping for some payoff, or at least a drink), he finds out the guy he just beat up was one of Pluto's henchmen. Now he's afraid to meet the same fate.
Rebe is sad that her plots have fizzled. "Onesimo honey, find proofs of perfidy with which I can torment Pluto." "But then next time the one who'll get beat up will be me. We need to find another way, so I don't get inculpated." She says their chance (for all sorts of things) will come at the Acapulco Anniversary bash. She won't bang him tonight, but she says they can use 'tu' now ...
- Silvia wants nothing from Eduardo in the divorce. Helena disagrees: "You deserve something in exchange for all the years you took care of him." Silvia: "The donkey talks of ears..." She continues: "He's not well. Look in on him once in a while, Helena."
- Pluto asks Mendoza to help him stick Rebe with the havoc his fake construction company will cause.
- At the meeting, Rebecca announces there will be a costume ball in Acapulco! She needles Renato about his being gay.
- Mendoza comes to talk to Eva alone after the meeting. Adri is eavesdropping...
- Renato tells Rebe he's tired of her jibes. Rebe: "I'll tell Adri 'your right-hand man is gay.' Boom!" "Well I've got your dirty cd. Boom!"

Pablo and Luzma leave the reception in the decorated vehicle with all the guests cheering. Cayetano meets Hissadora at the restaurant and she hands him the letter. He waxes nostalgic about how Pablo's birth saved his marriage, but
Hissadora bursts his bubble by suggesting that Don Daniel's sperm
might have been the one to make Pablo.

Hissadora goes on about not
wanting to cause him pain [hypocrita!]
but felt she could not remain silent. He asks about the other
letters and she says perhaps it was better she didn't find them
because they would hurt more. He asks if any of those letters said
that Pablo was Don Daniel's son and she tells him no, not exactlty. However, she
talks about the content of the other letters which apparently say
that Don Daniel was the love of Rocio's life and that she herself
believes that Cayetano raised a child that wasn't his. Cayetano
doesn't want to believe this. “Pablo has to be mine!” he says,
emphatically. She gives him the line about parents being the ones
who raise and educate, not just engender. She tells him about not
actually being Alonso's birth mother and what her husband did about
putting her name on the documentation. He points out that Alonso
was born before she married Eleazar, but that Rocio committed
adultery. Hissadora promises to stick with him through this [just
as she is sticking it to him].

***Sorry everyone, this is a pretty poor recap. I got some really bad news about 5 minutes into the show and couldn't focus at all for the rest of it. My bad.***
Aha! Mousse boy reveals that Claudia had switched the medicines. In fact, he admits that he was an accomplice. Juan's mom: "Poor child, her heart is "full of hate."
Bad dad is finding out that his wife doesn't even want to take his stuff - she just wants out!
Santi gets his divorce and watches Angelica leave in her chauffeured red sports car. "If you want to see me, just turn on your tv!"
Then we come to a conversation between Eva and Helena that sparks the question of what all women want - Helena mentions that all of her doubts and reservations about Juan stem from the fact that she's not sure he has that one thing that all women require from a man. Eva is desperate to find out what it is that JC couldn't give her. "You know, you're a woman, it's that one thing that we all know we need!" haha, he's so perplexed he tries to guess. Sex? Money? Shoes?
Then Eva makes Adri guess what it is. Adri is thinking along the same lines Juan was. Sex? No. Uh... Honesty and sex?
Dagoberto gets turned down by Mimi, but that doesn't deter him. He sneaks back in and snoops around in her house for dirt on Eva.

It appears that the inauguration ceremonies bumped our show for today. Amores Verdaderos #50 Fri 1/18/13 J'Accuse; Guess Who Is Into Chantaje Now?
Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen. Tonight we have an array of emotions. Love, jealousy, anger, hate and things in-between. The accusations are flying through the air and lingering I am sad to say. Why do people that profess to love each other, hurt each other this way? This is an age old question. If only people had a pat answer, but no one really does. We must all experience it for ourselves and get our own answers. You will see how an innocent act of kindness can go so horribly wrong. One person interprets this act one way, while another sees it another way, and there seems to be no in between. It is all black and white, with no possible gray at all. Que Lastima! There would be so much cleared up if the other person would just listen and especially listen to with their heart and hear what it is saying to them. The ancient Egyptians believed that the heart, rather than the brain was the source of human wisdom as well as emotion, memory, the soul and even personality itself, and who is to say that maybe they weren't right. While reading this recap, keep that thought in mind, or should I say, in your heart and see for yourself. J'Accuse is a French word that means I accuse and chantaje I will get to in the recap.

bliss, we learn that Tolentino, thanks to a push from Padre Anselmo, is now all hot to enroll online for a college degree in Public Administration and thus,
to put his hormonal half-life on hold for a while; Isadora has given Cayatano sky-high hopes that there might well be much more in this store for him--especially considering all those improperly placed
pesos the old fool’s been parting with, courtesy of the portly, wicked Widow Lazcano’s
leading comportment; and along with
Cayatonto and Issa, we’ve ass ascertained that the fingerprinted document
ceding back the rights to La Malquerida to both Daniel and Camila is totally
legal, having been prepared by Lic. Becerra, and because Alonso had the
presence of mind to have two witness there at the time. The old fart’n fool de Cayatonto’s now going
to be footing the bills for Issa since she seems to have been left out in the
cold with nothing—oh, woe is she!!
And Now for the New:
Yago tries to
chat it up with Natalia to find out if she’s gotten the results of the DNA
test. Not long now, he says, but she’s a
nervous Nellie over the whole thing, she admits, because it will change her
life forever. Since the wedding’s about
to start she will have to wait to pick up the results, though. Well, Yago’s got a few words of advice: if it turns out that Dionisio Ferrer really
is her daddy, then by all means, take good advantage of it and him! If he’s not her
daddy then just forget it all and move on.
Right? Nat says she wishes she
could handle it as easily as he [resbalarsele= slides like water of a duck’s
back, to be carefree about things, let things slide] but she’s not made that
way. Well, she’s too intense and she
takes things way to seriously, he critiques.
Anyway, now she’s nervous because Yago’s family is going to be at the
wedding and she doesn’t want there to be any slip-ups regarding their incognito
relationship. People, she thinks, will
be staring at them the whole time (Word up! Girlie, this is Luzma and Pablo’s big day,
remember? You are not the center of the
universe, and especially not today!)

“--Naw, nobody’s going to realize a thing. So calm down, already.”
At Amanda’s
B&B and Banquet Hall, Rafael and Aaron are helping get the place set up for
the reception. Amanda’s long in the
mouth since if it weren’t for them she’d have had to set up everything by
herself cuz Nat didn’t offer to help her out [acomedirse] one bit. She’s ignored her and refused to have
anything to do with her, even though Amanda finally gave in and told her the
truth about her father. Aaron and Rafa
tell Amanda to trust in the fact that she raised her daughter right. Eventually that will win the day. Nope, says Amanda, Nat says that she lied to
her all her life, she doesn’t trust her anymore. Nat feels betrayed and Amanda’s afraid of
losing her now, for good. They agree
that since she didn’t seek Dio out and call him out on his daddy-hood or move
in with him and take sides, then that pretty much is a positive. See?
Rafa and Aaron tell her that’s a good sign things will return to normal
in no time. Well, Amanda’s not so sure;
it seems strange to her that now that the truth’s out there, that Dio hasn’t been
by to try to bully [amedrentar=frighten, intimidate] his ex-again. Caras de “hmmmm” de Aaron, Amanda and Rafa.
Over at Los
Albarrán, Pablo and Mariano have a last-minute chat and in their finest de
charro ¡Ayaiyai!)) before heading to the church. Pablo likes Dan and all, but he’d really have
like to have seen Mariano engaged to Camila instead of Dan. That would take a miracle, answers Mariano
wistfully. (Well, wait a bit, cuz
after all, this is a telenovela and anything is possible, Big Boy!)
In another
part of the hacienda, Refugio and Ana are ready to head to the wedding as well,
but they make a stop and a last-minute plea for Rocio to go there with
them. She refuses. Ana and Rocio have a chat about marrying up
or marrying down. Rocio instructs her
granddaughter that it’s far better to marry a wealthy man with looks than an
ugly poor man. (Works for me!) Refugio admonishes Rocio that she’ll be sorry
if she doesn’t go to the ceremony at least, but Rocio stubbornly refuses.
Outside the
church Rafa and Vivi are flirting. Aaron
arrives and all is happy, happy, joy, joy!
Viv’s going to take pictures for the happy couple. FF>>
Amanda, in another part of the lawn, worries that Dionisio will show up
with Agustina. Osvaldo assures her he’s
got no reason to be there and probably won’t join Gussie—at least he hopes he
won’t. FF>> Nat moons and mopes alone in another part of
the church lawn and stares over at Yago chatting with Mariano. “—Gotta be rough seeing Camila with another
guy here, huh?” Yeah, agrees, Mariano. “--But then what would you know considering you’ve
never been in love?” Yago snarls back at
his big bro to talk to the hand cuz his pretty face ain’t listenin’. FF>>
Hipolito flirts with Piedad in front of Doroteo, Eleutario and
Rodolfo. Eleu asks if he’s going to
stick around or not. Seems Hipo’s ready
to move down there to Aculco permanently since there’s nothing and nobody
[naide= “lunfardo slang for nadie] back
home to keep him there. Down here he’s
got Luzma and Piedad, or doesn’t he? Pia
blushes and Doro swoons at that.

Iliana
walks over to the servants from the M.Q. and lands a big lip-smacker on Rod who
is none too happy that she’s doing it in front of God (literally) and everyone!
“--Now everybody will know something’s
up with us!” Hey, says Illy, that’s what
you wanted, right? For “everyone” to
know? —And now “they” do--and they’re not too happy about it,
either! Rod reminds Illie that Yago’s
still in the picture. “--Uh, yeah, but Yago
doesn’t see it that way!”
Ana a Refu
arrive and chitchat. Ana brings up the
unpleasant chat with her grandma about poor vs. rich and her granny probably
not coming to her wedding if she chooses to fall in love with a poor man and
get married. FF>>Cayatonto arrives
and mentions he didn’t come with the others because he had paperwork to deal
with in Metapec. FF>> Viv takes a
photo of the Albarrán men; Padre A arrive; then Cami and Gussie arrive--alone,
much to Amanda’s relief--and the two race over to congratulate the groom. Cam
turns around and announces the arrival of the bride, on Daniel’s arm, and then all
take their place inside the church.
(Damn, that sky blue charro and bright white sombrerota does do him
justice and then some—once we can
actually see his face…..)
The ceremony starts. Daniel walks
down the aisle with the bride giving Luzma away and telling more than asking
for Pablo to make her happy. Pablo smiles
from ear to ear and promises that he will daily. Vivi’s taking pictures and glances over
towards Yago who, tho’ standing at Nat’s side, flings a flirtatious wink her direction. Viv notes it, frowns back and gets on with taking
her photos. Nat notices Yago’s
preoccupation with something, and, unbeknownst to either of them, so does Rodolfo!
At the M.Q. during the ceremony, while everyone else is away attending
the wedding, Dio gladly helps Issa look for that “old book” that Issa says is really
is a little lock-box made to look like an old book, which holds all the
incriminating letters and pictures of Don Daniel’s affair with Rocio. Finally it’s found, but (Crap!) there’s no compromising photo! There's just
a single--albeit blameworthy--missive. Issa is quick to deny Dio possession of it by deftly redirecting his attention to more…diversional compensations. She swings the conversation quite adroitly and our felonious couple then celebrate with a lascivious toast to themselves and (what we believe leads
to) a libidinous romp in Dionisio’s lair.
Meanwhile, the wedding ceremony continues as Camila and Mariano place the string
of flowers around the bridal couple, Natalia holds and hands over the rings for
them, and Yago hands Pablo the customary handful of coins for the bride. Rocio has
arrived for Pablo’s wedding--incognito (if you can call a Black beret and huge black
RayBan’s a disguise). However, Refugio has
had a feeling of sorts and turns around in time to notice the mother has come to
see her Pablito take the plunge after all.

Fun time’s over at the M.Q. cuz Issa has to make
sure that she meets Cayatonto later that evening to hand him over his “little
present”, the letter Roc wrote to Don Daniel all those years ago. “—The sooner
this bomb explodes, the better!” She
exits, stage left.
Eventually, as all the loving couples—especially Dan
and Cami--look on wistfully and solemnly, Pablo and Luzma are officially declared
husband and wife; first by the Church and then by the State. Not until they sign their names on the
dotted line, though, are they allowed to seal their “official marital status”
with a kiss. Cheers all around.
During the celebration, Cayatonto receives Issa’s
text requesting he meet for another er…rendezvous. “—I need to see you as soon
as possible. I’ll meet you at The
Sunflowers Café.” (Be there or be
square.) Before he leaves, he congratulates his son and wishes him the best. Pablo has to remind him that Luzma is
standing there. El Vejestorio (the old
fartcicle) is pointedly short with her.
She does her best to admit she’s aware he doesn’t care much for her and
promises she’l do her best to make all of them proud of her. “—Yeah, I hope
so!” He excuses himself brusquely (a
tactful way of saying rudely) and races off to meet Issa.
A bit
later Agustina returns from the wedding ceremony and spies the two glasses,
especially the one with the telltale lipstick stain. She makes “the face” and slams the glass back
down. When el muy inocente de Dio comes down to greet
her, Gussie pitches a jealous fit. He
denies everything and suggests that it was probably Dan and Cami who left the
two dirty glasses after a celebratory swallow or two before heading off to the
wedding.
Gussie
tells him she knows better and besides she can smell Isadora’s perfume! He tells her she’s spewing nonsense! (When the facts are against you, lie at the
top of your lungs and divert. Then turn
the guilt back onto the accusing party.
Both Issa and Dio are champines with that tactic.) The hell she is, she tells him! “-- I know
that scent all too well!” “—Are you crazy? Why would that woman put one foot in this
place after the way you threw her out of here?
And besides that, even if she did come, do you think I’d even let her
in? Never in a million years!” Gussie isn’t quite sure she’s buying it, but
she stands her ground. (Ten points for
team Gussie!) Dio turns on his errant
…er…appendage with dignity, as usual. “—Well,
if you don’t believe me then that’s your problem! You know, you’ve finally turned totally
paranoid and so much so that you’re totally insufferable!!” He huffs and puffs on his way out, relying
once again on might being right as his motto. Gussie glances up at her BIL’s portrait which
seems to be sneering or laughing about her continued poor choices in men and
she angrily hisses back at it.
Back
at the wedding reception there’s goofy chitchat about Rafa’s book. Yago takes a seat next to Vivi and asks if
she’ll show him the photos she took a while ago. The others chitchat with her about her talent
and Dan throws in a request for her to take the pics at their wedding too. The lights go low and the wedding couple
begins to dance. [The famous singer who
I should know, but don’t and figure it has to be Silikon] sings the lover’s
theme song. Yago, looking like a total
greaser, totally ignores Rafa and asks Vivi to dance. Rafa hears and gets “the look” on his face but
Viv quickly stoppers the crap bottle by telling Yago she’s there with her
boyfriend and would rather not. (Yago at
least knows when he’s been turned down flat.)
“—Ok, I guess you can’t blame somebody for trying, right?” Yago actually leaves and a disgusted Rafa tells Viv thanks for sticking up for him cuz if she hadn’t put a stop to it, he would
have! Viv laughs and tells him not to
start the jealousy thing at this stage of the game. Besides, she can’t stomach his type. Chitchat follows about who’s best at tripping the light fantastic [el bailón=great dancer] and who is best at tripping over the light fantastic [el trompo=the crummiest dancer] i.e., Rafa vs. Daniel who kids that he can’t dance worth spit.
At the servants’ table, Iliana begs Rod
to dance with her and he finally gives in. Doro and Eleu celebrate Doro’s finally giving
him “el sí with a little hoofin’ themselves.
Then there’s poor, moping Nat who tells Pia that at times she’ll wonder
if she’ll ever get married. Piadad says
certainly somebody will come along soon.
And waddayaknow? Right then Aaron
steps up to the table and asks Nat to dance with him! Nat laughs and says only if she doesn’t have
to confess or go through the third degree! Cam and Co. are all caught off guard
by it--so was Viewerville!
So
then, Pia and Hipolito are left. Must be
the vino cuz Piadad boldly asks if he meant what he said to Eleutario in front
of the church earlier. Sure, he says as
he makes a bold move to grab her hand, a person always wants to be close to his
roots and to his loved ones. Piadad and
he share a smile and a big giggle.
(Awww!)
Somewhere
in the room we have Ana telling Ramon that she’s going to Zacateca for her
other abuela’s birthday—the abuela she lived with before coming to live with
Daddy. FF>>
Refu
admonishes Mariano not to be such a stick in the mud just because Cami didn’t
choose him. Yeah, well, if he’d only
shown up before Dan did he laments…..(--And so do we. This just isn’t sexy in the least, Mar!) FF>>
Meanwhile,
Pablo and Luzma tell each other sweet nothings on the dance floor in between
kisses and a few cuts of the proverbial rug as Rocio pines for her lost little
lamb of a Pablito. “—No! I can’t lose my son!” FF>>
Padre
A joins Os and Dan and Cam at a table and tells them that Teresa and Dante are
coming back to Aculco in a few days. Any
news? Not a thing. They found no trace of the Farcases or Miriam’s
tomb. Dan feels things are hopeless
then. Os says perhaps not, that
hopefully Juarez will be able to come across something pertinent and helpful from
the bits and pieces the two of them have collected [recabar]. Cam is surprised. They actually found something? Yeah, the falsified death certificate and
Braulio’s cell phone number—the man that was staying at the B&B.
Nat
finally has had enough of being totally ignored. She tells Yago she needs to speak to him
right away and it won’t wait. Yago’s in a snit. She
wants Yago to make their relationship public cuz she just can’t go on like
this. Isn’t it enough he tells her he
loves her? No. If his dad could accept Luzma enough to come to the
wedding, then why can’t Yago fight for her, also? And anyway, she hates doing things in secret. Illy and Rodolfo dance together and walk arm
in arm, (even kiss in public….). Yago
doesn’t like being compared to a low account-no account like Rodolfo.
If she wants Rod then go right ahead!
No, she says, she loves Yago and wants to be with him! Yago asks what she’ll do if he doesn’t and
she says well, the best thing then is to just end it, here and now. Are you serious? Yes, very.
El Yak-ass de Yago tells Nat he doesn’t like ultimatums. She says
then he should do it willingly and not because she’s asking--make that begging—him
to.
Speaking
of true love, Cam and Dan wish Luzma and Pablo well as they drive off on their
gran noche de boda [big wedding night] and honeymoon bliss. Of course, poor Nat stays inside, tears
running down her cheeks cuz deep inside she knows Yago’s a lost cause—or at
least we hope that’s the reason.
Issa
is waiting for Cayatonto at the restaurant.
She can’t wait and immediately hands over the condemnatory letter from
Rocio to Don Daniel written years ago. “--I
hope that with this it is obvious that…that…this is the proof that she was Don
Daniel’s lover.” Cara de momentary anger
and I-knew-it! de Cayatano.
Everyone’s
saying their good-byes. Cami tells
Amanda that she’s sorry things aren’t going as well as they’d hoped between her
and Nat.
Back
at Café Rendeznous, Issa fakes a pained expression and feigns sympathy. “—I know this letter is painful for you to
read. It’s that you don’t deserve this….you
don’t deserve to be deceived like this and if I’d continued to keep quiet I’d
be your wife’s accomplice.” Cayatonto
says no problem and that he’d have probably done the same. She continues to stick the knife in and
twist. “--The letter was written
twenty-three years ago.” Yes, he says,
she wrote it just at the time that Pablo was born. They were having terrible problems with their
marriage and were seriously contemplating divorce. But, she got pregnant with Pablo. The truth is that knowing I was going to be a
father again stopped me from it. Pablo’s birth saved our marriage. That’s why he’s my favorite. She asks him to forgive her for mentioning it
(oh, why not?????) BUT couldn’t Pablo be Don Dan’s and Roc’s love-child? I mean, she says, instead of being an
Alberrán, he might very well be a Monterde!

Hi Y'all this recap will not be in order. They went from scene to scene so quickly, I am combining them for the continuity of the story.
Tonight we start with the meeting between Eva and Helena is Helena's office. Seems they are talking about feelings. Hmmm, whose you ask. Well, seems Helena is telling Eva bout that. Eva had asked Helena if she was now going to hook up, er get back with JC once again, since Helena and Pluti are kaput, but nah, not so much. Helena looks at Eva and says those eyes, again! Helena is afraid to be buffaloed, er, swayed by JC's enormous charms and isn't going to "fall" again. But she has a secret to tell Eva, pinky swear, no telling anyone, but ya know how Pluti spread it around that Helena and Pluti were doing it like rabbits, well so not true, doncha know! Cause, wait for it, Helena never loved Pluti, who knew! Helena only has eyes for JC! She lurvvees JC still, and here Eva sings, Cristo!, but she just can't trust him. Even still Helena thinks of JC's kisses, his caresses, more than ever! Eva advises Helena to tell JC exactly what she feels, Eva is sure that JC would be over the moon. Helena still isn't sure and tells Eva not to say anything. So here comes Renato annoucing a meeting with Adri, and as soon as Helena goes out the door, Eva is doing a mad dance, and Renato looks at her strangely and Eva goes out the door too to the meeting. It is to introduce Mendoza.

El Mundo de Telemundo (y mas) - Week of January 24 - Discuss among yourselves
Happy Martin Luther King Day! Great work by all the recappers on the various Telemundo and other network shows. As Pablo Escobar nears its end, I thought folks might enjoy this excerpt from a travel article in the New York Times today about two guys reporting on a trip to Medellín:
In the 1980s and early 1990s, you traveled to the largest cocaine-producing city in the world in the same manner that you lowered yourself into a tank of feral hogs: accompanied by either an insurance policy or a very porous concept of life expectancy. Then the home of the drug kingpin Pablo Escobar, the city had its renown for cultivating prize orchids usurped by its ability to put the k in the word “traffick.”
As Michael Kimmelman reported in this paper last year, the annual homicide rate in Medellín 20 years ago was 381 per 100,000. In New York City, this would come to more than 30,000 murders a year.
Mr. Escobar’s death at the hands of the police in 1993 did much to cool the fires. At first the changes were subtle; gang members reportedly started showing up at group therapy sessions; former hit men started taking guitar lessons. Then this city of 3.5 million was gradually graced with a series of improvements befitting its jewel-like setting in a lush valley surrounded by green mountains. Parks, libraries, museums and hotels were built. A gleaming metro system was completed in the mid-90s; in 2006 and 2008, gondolas providing service to the city’s hillside shantytowns were added, reducing what had been a two-hour trip down to a few minutes. Fernando Botero, a Medellín native, donated more than 1,000 pieces of his own and others’ art to the Museo de Antioquia. Birds, in short, began to twitter.
Eager to sample this new Medellín, I canvassed my loved ones for a traveling companion. Thinking his essential winsomeness would be the perfect litmus test for any chicanery or danger, I selected my puckish 24-year-old assistant, Ryan Haney, a heterosexual mama’s boy who sometimes refers to his knapsack as “my little bag.” I knew Ryan would want to run the idea past his mother, Angela; 24 hours later, we received her blessing.
Our first point of order was to take one of the several Pablo Escobar tours now offered in Medellín. Having heard that one operator’s Escobar tour ended in a conversation with Roberto Escobar in his living room (Roberto, Pablo’s brother, was the Medellín cartel’s accountant), I wrote to the company, but was told they were no longer working with Roberto Escobar, who they said now painted his brother as a hero. A second tour operator I contacted added that Roberto now claimed that his job for the Medellín cartel had been to design submarines. I ended up enlisting Juan Uribe, a warm, emphatic tour guide in his 60s who took us to four Escobar-related sites. We saw the apartment building where Mr. Escobar’s wife and bodyguards lived; the roof where he was gunned down by police; a neighboring roof the police used to remove his body (Mr. Uribe: “They needed a lower roof. He was very heavy then”); and Mr. Escobar’s grave.
Between sights, Mr. Uribe recounted how the drug lord started his career by stealing headstones from cemeteries and reselling them, and how he gradually widened his power base, even holding office in government at one point. Ryan took all the accounts of cocaine-fueled mayhem in his stride, but when we visited the grave in a lovely, elevated cemetery in the middle of town, I started to feel vaguely anxious. I asked, “There aren’t cameras anywhere that are recording us, are there?” Mr. Uribe smiled, then pointed at four spindly bushes next to Mr. Escobar’s grave and mused, “Microphones.”

Cayetano welcomes Juarez into his office. He won't tell Juarez where Isadora is until he knows why Juarez is looking for her. He refuses to let Juarez "harass" her with more questions about her son's death. Juarez pacifies him, so Cayetano hands over the name of the hotel. The Shrieking Harpy Cayetano Married comes in and shrieks at him, effectively throwing him into the arms of the woman she'd like him to stay away from. Cayetano has had enough of her ear-splitting histrionics and storms out of his office, after telling her she's "colmando la paciencia" (trying my patience).
Dio and Isa come up for air, finally, mostly so she can fish for some jealousy from Dio. He tells her to sleep with whoever she wants to, he doesn't care. "Oh, right. You're only worried about Camila." "Hey, baby, not that we can't have fun!" Isadora's not going to be somebody's FWB, or so she claims for about two seconds, but she caves…right onto his desk she caves.
