Por ella soy Eva #87 11/20/12: More of the Same of Everything

Tonight we just got more of the same on all fronts. For instance, Claudia continues to bug Eugenia and Modesto continues to evade any discussion about it.

Pluto continues to hammer away about Juan Carlos's fraud. He has hired a money launderer to continue convincing Adri of Juan's villainy. The accomplice says the 3 mil which went into Juan's mother's account is - gone. Pluto pretends astonishment.

Eva: "It can't have disappeared into the air." Adri: "Juan was much more than a thief, he had this all planned, he even involved his mother. The investigation is over, I won't have Eugenia and Modesto bothered, they're my friends and their son was a cretin."

Adri gets so upset he faints. An ambulance is called. He's ok for now, but Eva reminds him his sister died young. He agrees to go see his cardiologist. Pluto wants Adri to retire: "I'll take care of everything." Eva: "No kisses, no anything for you, Adri, it would be bad for your heart. Go home and rest."

There may be a real-life rock star, Erik Rubin, showing up soon.

Mimi goes to visit the convalescing Adri, who is attracted to her but resists temptation.

Mimi and Juan continue to have no ideas about how to proceed.

Adri asks Renato to become his assistant, Renato is thrilled. Adri: "I've always been in complete control but I'm not young any more. Soon I'll marry and I want to enjoy my conjugal life. ... you know, when Juan Carlos was alive, he was like my right hand."

Pluto lunches with his money-laundering accomplice and insists on his silence and discretion: "You should disappear from Mexico for a while -- if Eva gets Adri to reopen the investigation I want you far away. But I'll probably need you for the fake construction company Fixa I'm going to use to defraud Grupo Imperio." Possibly important: Pluto admits to the guy that the money is in his home safe. The friend congratulates Pluto on the death of Antonia: "How lucky that you were widowed so early."

Lucia continues to be an idiot. She gets a compliment from Renato: "It doesn't matter what you wear, you're always cute." He tells her he's gonna be Adri's right-hand man but it's a big secret. Lucia the twit: "I see myself as wife of the vice-president." He gets a text from his mom but won't answer it.

Pluto continues with his evil little projects. Eva continues to talk him down to Helena. Tomorrow they'll sign with his fake construction company Fixa which is going to destroy the Playa Majagua project and put more money in Pluto's safe.

The fake thesis Pluto bought has convinced Helena that neither he nor Antonia stole any ideas from her. Eva wants to read it but Helena says Pluto gets first dibs.

Santi and Fer continue to do no work and gossip a lot.

Eugnia tells her husband she's going back to acting. He doesn't think she's ready: she should cancel her plans and they should talk... "later."

Eva goes to find Raul Mendozo (I think that was the money launderer) but the secretary says: "He's on a long vacation, I don't know where."

Fer continues to be an idiot.

Rebeca calls Renata "Cinderella" and insults him. He asks why she's humiliating him. She says, "because you came from a low-class neighborhood." "So did you" "Well, I didn't choose where to be burn, but I am like an aristocrat now." He leers: "You want me." "I doubt you're the man you pretend to be." "I'll prove it to you." She tells Adri that Renato is gay. Adri is astonished.

Amores Verdaderos #8 Mon 11/19/12 As if we didn’t have enough triangles already

* Winter garden. Lili explains to Guzmáncito that she isn’t an intruder but Arriaga’s daughter, and she only sneaked into the flower room because she’s really, really into plants. I mean, really. At first Francisco is immune to her Disney charm and he coldly reminds her of the fact that she isn’t allowed to wander around the house without permission. Liliana gets frightened at his strict tone and she apologizes, and her reaction is so over the top that Blondie can’t help but bursts into laugh. They shake hands.

* Kitchen. Sweetheart Angel feels with Victoria who’s at the verge of a nervous breakdown: Liliana is his greatest treasure and he doesn’t know what he would do if something happened to her. And he even understands her struggles with Nikki (who has a very difficult personality) and her husband (who’s a negligent and lousy father). Vic is overflowed with feelings, she’s glad that she can talk about these things with the big guy but in the meantime she feels ashamed that she threw her problems onto him. And she used to think she was strong but now she can’t take anymore. Vic grabs his hand and it looks they are about to hug each other, and OF COURSE this is the very moment when Cristina enters the room. Qué the hell is happening here?

* Nikki has a video chat with the brunette friend of hers. (I wish my phone was able to produce such a great quality. *cough*) In the evening there will be a party, Nicole should go and bring her hot bodyguard along. Oh, don’t even get her started with Guzmán! She’s fed up with him and with her mother who thinks she’s an infant who needs a babysitter. But okay, she’ll try to escape from the gorilla and join the party later.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

* Victoria, who’s still sobbing, tells Cristina that all José Ángel did was giving her comfort because she had an awful day. She thanks Arriaga and says goodbye to them. Ay, that poor woman, says Angel who’s totally oblivious to the green flames of jealousy in Cristina’s eyes that have been firing at him since the beginning of the scene. And the hell breaks loose. Cristina is sure that Victoria wants more from her husband than his bodyguard services and she won’t stay in her house for a minute longer! José Ángel gets pissed off, too, so he grabs her elbow and tells her there’s nothing between him and Ms. Balvanera… and now they should go to sleep. After they leave, it turns out Polita and Jean Marie were hiding in the corner and they heard the shouts. This means soon the whole household will know what happened that evening.

* In the bedroom Nelson works on his computer, it turns out he asked Kendra to do the yoghurt commercial. Kendra. And yoghurt. Vic doesn’t like the idea and she doubts that Barbie’s image would be right for the commercial. Did Aníbal approve this decision? Nelson is too much in love with his own genius and he thinks the company should follow a more innovative path.

* At Kendra’s flat. Barbie and Salsero talk about their masterplan, again. Kendra mentions she could easily convince Nelson to leave his wife for her, but Dances With Sunglasses isn’t fond of the idea. Okay honey, says Kendra, as you wish. But make sure Arriaga doesn’t return to his lil’ house on the pampas… because if he does, things will be done her way. Sometimes I can’t decide who’s the bigger alpha male between these two.

* Arriaga looks for his daughter in the garden. He’s in quite a bad shape, he seems to have a constant ache in the chest. Lili’s still in the flower room/winter garden and she does her best to turn the enchanted Guzmáncito into a Disney cartoon character. Oh dear, now they’re sniffing a pink flower. Arriaga shows up at the door and interrupts the magical moment just a second before a dimension portal opened to the World of My Little Pony. Daddy doesn’t like what he sees, so he pulls a bitchface, sends Lili to bed and Guzmán tomorrow he’ll return to his house. This means they probably won’t meet again, however, if Francisco ever decides to visit the Arriagas he’ll be welcome. The hawt guys hug each other. *Women in Viewerville: awwww, bromance!*

* Later in the house Dances With Sunglasses tells José Ángel he should reconsider his resignation because Ms. Victoria trusts him deeply and no one else who could protect her better. Sorry, says Arriaga, it was a really a hard decision for Arriaga, but he has to put his family first.

* In the kitchen Jean Marie and Polita talk about the fight Cristina and José Ángel had last night. Actually, Polita think Cristina caught her husband and Victoria doing the deed on the table. Tomasina comes into the room with Guzmán. She’s very worried for Victoria so Blondie promises her to find a new trustworthy bodyguard.

* In the Arriagas’ bedroom Lili asks José Ángel about Francisco and she can’t stop gushing about his gorgeous smile. But don’t worry, dad, your smile is beautiful, too. *Viewerville: all right, Liliana, everything is forgiven for now*

* Nelson can’t understand why Victoria is so sad about Arriaga’s resignation. Don’t worry, tomorrow he’ll find her a more experienced bodyguard. Victoria cuddles up to her husband and whispers that after a hard day like that she needs some affection. But our Casanova suddenly turns into a prudent little virgin and tells her they should sleep instead.

* Nikki spent the whole episode with taking a shower and dressing up like the newest disco Barbie and now she’s ready to leave. She climbs down on a rope from her balcony… and arrives right into the arms of the ever vigilant Francisco. *Viewerville: LOL* Guzmán won’t let her leave and he threatens her with waking Victoria up. Nikki has no choice but to go back to her room… and Francisco follows her because he wants to make sure she won’t escape again. In her room he laughs at the good old “pillows under blanket” trick and mocks Nikki for her lack of imagination. Oh dear, Guzmáncito is slowly turning into an adorably insolent modern Petruchio. Best scene of the episode, hands down. Finally she manages to kick him out of the room… and here comes the ugly part. Nikki can’t deal with the stress of this situation so first she quickly eats a box of chocolate, then she cries in a fetal position.

* Next morning. While Dances With Sunglasses is waiting for his jefe, he’s fuming about his bad luck: dammit, that dumb Arriaga ruined all his plans and now Guzmán will bring a new bodyguard!

 * Victoria tells Tomasina that Nelson promised her a surprise. But since Narcissus isn’t that giving person unless his wife has a birthday, Victoria suspects it has something to do with the company. And she doesn’t like it at all. She worked her ass off to convince her father to give her the position of creative director, and won’t step aside to please her husband. And on top of it all, now he has to deal with the new bodyguard. She sighs and thinks about how much she’ll miss Arriaga.

*Guzmáncito and Liliana meet in the hallway. Disney Girl informs Blondie that Cristina went to buy something, the Angel is still knocked out by the medicines the doctor gave him and Lili couldn’t take a shower because the water in their bathroom is blocked. Francisco offers her to use the bodyguards’ bathroom.

* Tomasina comes into Nikki’s room to pick up her laundry and she finds the remnants of the evening: the mess, the trash and the empty box of chocolate. She tells the sleepy and yawning girl she understands that Nikki is a very impulsive and reckless kid but she should be more careful of what she does. What are you talking about, asks Nikki. I’m talking about what you did last night! Oops. Nikki has no idea that Tomasina is talking about the chocolate and the mess she made, so she immediately jumps to the conclusion Guzmán spilled the beans about her escape. That idiot! She runs out of the room screaming that he will pay for *that*… Leaving a very dumbfounded Tomasina behind. “What idiot?”

* The shrew runs into Francisco’s room looking for a fight… only to find the freshly showered Liliana there. What. Happened. Here? Oh Guzmáncito, you’re in the deepest trouble because you are forbidden to bring your lovers into this house. Thank you, gorilla, you put the rope around your own neck! You’re fired!

 * Cristina arrives back from the shop and finds an unconscious, fevered, trembling Angel in the bed. She runs to the dining room where Tomasina tells Victoria about the fight Arriaga and his wife had last night because of her. Oh no, that cannot be possible! Victoria looks very uncomfortable and she becomes even more upset when Cristina shows up screaming and begging for help for her half-dead husband.

* Nikki enjoys the situation immensely. She’s about to go and tell her mom what happened when Guzmán tells her that this half-naked girl isn’t his girlfriend and she was brought into the house by Arriaga, her father.

* Tomasina and Cristina leave for the doctor and Victoria stays behind to look after sick man. Arriaga wakes up for a second and before he falls back into unconsciousness he desperately begs her not to leave.

Por ella soy Eva #86 11/19/12

Adriano sneaks up behind Eva to make a horrifying scary noise. Is rebuffed, talks about her like his pork sandwich ("quesito de puerco")

Another pep-talk for Juan (from Mimi, of ). She advises him to buck up, "squeeze 'em." He's not convinced.

Out to eat, Pluti has a surprise for Helena. He's brought in the best wedding planner in the city! We get some really scary music. He's raring to go, but when the planner starts talking locations, Helena finally nuts up enough to say it's too early to talk about such things.

Drunk chumps at a bar toasting a "lost brother."

Angelica has no interest in studying or working - she just wants to hang out. She's not gonna want kids, either... "can you imagine this amazing body getting fat carrying around some chump's baby?"

Rebeca is a barrel of monkeys in her outrageous leopard-print jammies, turning Onesimo into a worthlessly quivering lump of goo.

Fernie has been shopping - Marcela doesn't look pleased. Tools of domesticity! Then he has the nerve to ssay "enjoy your gifts!" Hey honey, here's an iron and washing machine. Have fun!

Angela looks like she might have accidentally gotten a sexy modeling job. she's okay with that!

Hehe, Juan bids Adri goodnight by phone as Eva, but refuses to send him kisses. Regardless, Adri is cute and hopeless!

Juan and Mimi are pretty darn cute sharing some product-placement-snacks. He has the idea that maybe he can clear his name, even if he can't get Helena.

Helena lets her mom know that she's really not ready to get married. Fair enough. But her outfit doesn't get a pass.

I am still confused about why Mousse boy wears a scarf. It can't be that drafty in Mexico this time of year! Also, how did he get o the board? I hate this scene where they pick Plutarco's company "Fitza."

Refugio Para el Amor #155-156 Mon 11/19/12 Univision and Gala Finally Decide to Move This Story Along

Looks like Univision decided that they were tired of these final episodes dragging on too. Or maybe they just like having a tidy November 30th end date. In any case, they surprised me by cutting up and combining two episodes tonight. So, if you thought tonight’s episode felt kind of choppy, you aren’t crazy—It WAS! For example, I think the most important thing cut from #155 was the talk between Lorenzo and CL, since it’s exactly what many of us have suggested that Lor do.

You have the benefit of getting a recap of the ENTIRE episode #155 from me. And Judy has sent me her fabulous recap of the ENTIRE episode #156. Enjoy!

-----
Capitulo #155 (Recap by Vivi): Honor (Oscar), Love (Lorenzo), and Money (Gala) Motivate Our Characters to Make Changes and Tough Choices

Luciana has finally formally met her mini-me Mateo, who has woken from his hospital bed slumber as perky as ever. He exchanges hugs and kisses with Luci while Rod looks on with a smile. All of this call of the blood bonding seems to make Doña Chuy and Don Chelo nervous. They try to hustle Mateo out of the hospital as quickly as possible, but the little guy wants his buddy Rod to help him get dressed. No girls allowed!

In the Dungeon in the Sky, Gala has Brigida hand her the phone so she can give Rod his FDA approved daily dose of bitching, whining, and bitter recriminations. She wonders if his staying out all day (at the hospital) is part of their famous marital contract. They trade barbs back and forth about her late night (into morning) adventures, and the fact that he avoids HER bedroom like the plague. Rod says they’ll talk later that night. Oh, yes we will, says Gala. She’s got something VERY important to propose to him. She gives Brigida her daily dose of bitchy/snarky comments too, then wonders out loud to herself why she’s putting up with this hellish life with a man who doesn’t love her. If Rod wants his liberty, it will cost him dearly. (Viewerville wonders why Rod didn’t think of this solution before Gala did.)

Vivi's synopsis of the plot of Corona de Lagrimas (Crown of Tears)

Vivi tells us Corona de Lagrimas (Crown of Tears) will replace Refugio at 7pm starting December 3. We're thinking that with a title like that, and with no particularly beloved stars, Caray Caray may give this one a pass. If anybody is enthused enough about it to want to blog it, let me know.

When Refugio (Victoria Ruffo) and her three sons, Patricio, Edmundo and Ignacio are thrown out of their home, by a twist of fate they come to Mexico City, where they begin a new life.

Eighteen years later, and have settled in a small apartment in popular area. She has a modest job, and has serious vision problems, but no health care to meet the needs of her children. Patricio studied Law and dreams of a comfortable and prosperous future; Edmundo is studying medicine and is a brilliant student but undisciplined; and Ignacio could only finish high school because he works in a mechanic’s shop, helping his mother to pay for household expenses and the studies of his brothers.

Patricio is the boyfriend of Lucero, daughter Julieta, who lodged with the family when they came to town. But soon after, he rejects Lucero when he meets Olga, a girl whose fickle fortune dazzles him, leading him to be ashamed of his family and to lie about his origins, going so far as to deny his mother. Olga begins to doubt Patricio’s lies. Exposed, he lies again saying that Refugio was his nanny, has a mental illness and he takes care of her. Olga admires his charity. Later, Edmundo begins to woo Lucero, inadvertently hurting Ignacio, who secretly loves her.

Olga asks her father, the lawyer Romulo Ancira, to hire Patricio in his law firm. As her father is fed up with the vagaries of his daughter, he agrees and soon they announce their engagement. Following their wedding, Patricio pulls completely away from his mother and his brothers. When Refugio tries to approach Olga to try to regain the love of her son, she receives only humiliation. This creates disagreements between Patricio and his brothers Edmundo and Ignacio. Then Patricio learns that his father is not the same as his brothers’, accuses his mother of cheating, and demands she not approach him.

Consequently, Refugio falls into a severe depression that leads her to losing her job and aggravates her loss of sight. Neither Edmundo nor Ignacio seem able to comfort her, but strive to get ahead-- Edmundo first by looking for easy money through illegal business, and Ignacio, by borrowing and falling into debt. Edmundo is lands in jail, and the situation worsens when Ignacio goes to ask Patricio to legally defend Edmundo and he refuses.

The married life of Patricio and Olga is a mess. She is such a jealous wife that she uses emotional blackmail on Patricio, even attempting suicide. Patricio’s world of luxury and comfort crumbles.

When the man who ruined the lives of Refugio and her children comes back in their lives, by chance, Patricio learns the truth about his origins and the efforts of his mother despite adversity. The pain of his own failures, defeats the arrogance of Patricio. He begs the pardon of Refugio and agrees to defend his brother, after which family harmony is recovered.

Refugio Para el Amor #154 Fri 11/16/12 RE continues to lose her marbles, Julie loses a ride home and a bid for Claudio, Gala loses her patience, and Rod and Luci are closer and closer to their lost child

Refrito:
Luci warns Janah to remember what happened with her and Rodrigo, don’t you know your mother?  … Rodrigo comes in and questions Janah on what RE did by firing Mati. He promises he will pick up Alexia and then go to Estelita’s and convince Mati to come back. Promise.
Alexia convinces Rod to take her to see Mateo… they will go and get an ice cream too.
Mateo is doing same with Chelo so they too are heading to get ice creams.
Alexia and Mateo greet each other very happily, Rodrigo wonders of the coincidence of them meeting at same place again. Chelo explains they work at the park nearby.
Mateo and Alexia ask permission to go to the park alone. Both Chelo and Rod reluctant but they let them.
At the dungeon penthouse, Julie and Gala search for the baby id bracelet frantically. They refuse Frigida’s help. Gala pushes Frigida out the door.
At Estelita’s Luci meets up with Mati and also with Lorenzo… Janah suddenly appears.
Alexia begins taking the ‘magic’ things out of Chelo’s bag and she throws a red ball up and it hits a huge beehive that was up on the tree. Soon after the bees start attacking Mateo while the kids play with the masks. Alexia runs to get Rod to help get the bees off Mateo.

Lo Nuevo:
Alexia reaches Rod and Chelo, who don’t waste time running to help Mateo.

At Estelita’s Lorenzo gives Luci excuses of being sore for not working. Janah won’t buy what he is selling and asks him directly what her mother did to him. Lorenzo says nothing but ask me to leave you alone, but I will only leave you if you ask me to. Otherwise I will push on. (Janah can’t resist smirking a smile back at him.) Luci tells Lorenzo about the boy Rod did the DNA test on but it was negative. Lorenzo encourages Luci to keep the faith, he is sure the day they least expect it they will find his godchild.

Rod and Chelo catch up with Mateo. Rod immediately notices that Mateo can’t breathe well, asks Chelo if Mateo is allergic to bee stings, but Chelo is clueless… Rod notices Mateo’s airway (garganta) is totally blocked, that he can’t breathe so they run to hospital.

At TL Manor, RE is trying to explain to Connie that Mati is not loyal to her anymore so she is of no use to her.

At hospital cafeteria, Rod is trying to explain to Alexia that they won’t allow little kids in hospital rooms because they can make too much noise or they can get sick from the patients. They share a milkshake…

At Janah’s car, Luci asks Janah if she loves Lorenzo. Janah has to confirm. She went to Italy to get away from Lorenzo because of her mother but when she came back she realized she was still feeling for him. Luci keeps trying to convince her, that the illusions will pass and also that RE will do what she can against it. Janah says she wants to be happy for herself, not for what others might say. At that moment Rod calls her to ask her the favor to pick up Alexia… She asks Luci if she doesn’t mind going to pick Alexia up. Rod notices Luci is with Janah, yes she is but there is no problem.
At hospital cafeteria, Alexia gives Rod Mateo’s medal necklace to hold for Mateo. Rod uses the medal to hold hands with Alexia and they pray together for Mateo to get better real soon. (why doesn’t Rod wonder how Mateo was wearing a gold medal necklace if Chelo is so poor?) In his room, Mateo is on respirator and has a couple doctors by him.

In waiting room, Chelo is whinning that it will only get worse, how are we going to come up with the documents so that he can go to school? Chuy tries to encourage him. It will be alright.

Janah and Luci arrive to the hospital cafeteria. Rod thanks them. Luci says no worries. Alexia explains Mateo is her friend from the park. Rod adds that Mateo sells him the paper. Luci makes the connection this is the kid Claudio had told her about. Luci asks to accompany Rod to go see Mateo. He is more than joyful to have her come. Janah and Alexia leave.(she wants another milkshake! This kid will sure be diabetic by her teen yrs)

Back at hospital, when Luci sees Mateo, she remembers when the nurse brought her baby close to her right after birth… Chelo and Chuy are very grateful for Rod bringing Mateo to the hospital. They will find a way to pay him. Rod says don’t worry about that… The social worker comes in with the paperwork, there is info missing… the child’s second surname, what is his mother’s surname? Chelo and CHuy get scared, Rod and Luci watch with concerned faces. Chuy does some quick thinking, spits out a surname and says she is Mateo’s aunt.  The social worker insists she needs the info to admit Mateo to the hospital. Rod volunteers to go with her for the financial issue.
Luci tells CHelo and Chuy that she knows them from somewhere… CHelo denies, but Luci remembers their meeting 5 yrs ago when she was looking for a shelter/orphanage. Chelo and Chuy have to confirm.. Luci says she found the shelter but she did not find her son.  Then Luci asks Chelo what his wife died of, Diabetes. Luci asks them if Mateo has been checked for possible Diabetes. Chuy says yes and he was clear.  Rod comes in to tell them Mateo will spend the night and then if he does not get a fever he can go home tomorrow. Chelo wants to know how he will pay Rod. No need.

Rod has brought Luci home. He will go tomorrow to Estelita’s to convince Mati to come back to the house. They all miss her. He briefly talks about RE being worse every day. Luci asks if she can come tomorrow to see Mateo. She feels very good when she is with him. He shares that feeling. When they say goodbye he tries to kiss her, but she won’t let him. However, it is a ‘friendly’ reprimand, he asks her ‘push me/lead me’… she pushes him out, and when she closes the door after him, she smiles satisfied.

Out in a street curb, Julie keeps nagging at Gala for having left that ‘loose end’ (the ID bracelet)… keeps annoying Gala enough so that Gala leaves her there and drives away.

Gala is whinning to Fernanda at work. She can’t stand Rod any more, she won’t age like a porcelain doll with Rod… She orders Fernanda to be her accomplice in her relationship with Milko (ouch! What a name!)  .. they giggle about ‘how fun it will be’.

At Pato’s office he is on phone with Mati trying to convince her to come back to the house. She can’t take it anymore, she can’t stand watching them all suffer and feeling helpless… Pato says just your presence gives us strength and gives joy to our days. IF I could I would ask you to get me a spot in your sister’s house but I can’t abandon my mother. (really, Pato?)

At TL offices, Oscar tells Max Mati won’t come back unless RE asks Mati herself. Max says RE is switching personas like she switches outfits. Don’t know which one to believe… Oscar excuses himself, have to go meet a friend… Max asks if it’s a friend from work? No, it is a friend I haven’t seen in 25 yrs. He leaves a very confused Max.

Luci had called Claudio. Melissa is with him in his office at TL building. He is telling Melissa that they will need to push the appointment for dinner… at that moment Julie comes in inviting herself to ‘comida’ (lunch) with them. She is acting and sounding very flirtatious. Melissa is very uncomfortable, Claudio seems very relaxed but we can tell he is not buying what Julie is selling.

At restaurant, Julie has the nerve to tell Melissa that she is too young to eat with them. Claudio jumps in, tells Julie that Melissa has eaten with him often, she is very noble and brilliant young woman. Julie has to backstep a bit… It is Melissa’s turn… asks Julie what do you do now?  Julie comes up with being a volunteer with a group of volunteer women called ‘Damas del buen corazon’ (good hearted ladies). Melissa is not buying her story, since she works with non-profit organizations and that name does not sound familiar to her. Julie wants to stop the subject and calls for the waiter in a rather primitive/rude way, to which both Melissa and Claudio exchange WTF looks..
Julie asks Claudio what happened with the DNA test they were doing on that boy Rod found… She fakes feeling bad about it and excuses herself to go to ladies room.  Melissa tells Claudio Julie never stroke a good chord with her. Claudio says they are just very different… Claudio agrees with Melissa that neither Julie nor Gala would be his close friends… EVER.  At that moment Julie comes back. And they put on the ‘in your face’ play of Claudio wanting Melissa to share his flan with him. Julie not happy.

RE has gone to see Padre Honesto. She came to apologize (she is actually bowing down to him). She had the illusion Rod had found a boy who could be his son, but the DNA test was negative. (she is really giving him the sadness script… Padre is buying). RE changes the subject to talk about Lorenzo… Padre stays true to his original statement… RE says her children are now three strangers who have abandoned her, Padre tells her they would not abandon her if she was a loving mother. RE gets more angry and says why can’t they follow my advice? Janah is not in love!! Janah is obsessed in going against MY WISHES and I hope she changes her mind before its too late. RE leaves on that note and Padre sighs and worries about her saying her name.

At ‘curvas’ business, Vio gets a huge bouquet (at least 3 dozen) of red roses… sent to her by Lic Leandro Echavarria, who happens to be standing behind Vio by now. He invites her to dinner, she turns him down, she doesn’t know him. He won’t take no for an answer, does not insist on today but says ‘I will be here tomorrow at 3 to pick you up’.
Later at the car wash, Lorenzo stops by. Delia tries to hug him and he shreaks… he says he burned himself cooking the taco fillings. Fabian, who knows better, just rolls his eyes. Then they change the subject to Aquiles’ showing up. Lorenzo asks what he came for.  Vio kicked him out. They wonder what Aquiles wants to give her. Then they tease her on ‘what would you do with all that moolah??’ Violeta Trueba, the riches woman in SFeA!!

Meanwhile such Don Aquiles is swallowing Mezcal as if it were iced tea… ‘no doubt about it, that girl is mine, as brave as her dad, with a worse temper than mine! Erria!!’
‘Don Aquiles Trueba Tajonar is not alone. He has descendence, has left a footprint in the world’.

At TL offices, Max, Pato, Janah, and Alexia are spending some quality family time together.

RE now has gone to see the psychiatrist… RE says she fired her nana Mati. The only faithful, the only unconditional ally. Doctor figures that is why she is there today. RE says her world is beginning to crumble. She fired Mati, the most loyal one, the pillar of her life. Now she only has Patricio left. But I offended him too. What is happening to me that everyone is against me? Even myself!! (this might be a totally new level for NUTTSO!!)

AT TL manor, Max arrives and asks about RE. Janah is telling him she went to see Padre Honesto. RE arrives and Pato won’t even wait for her to say more than ‘good evening’, he is already rolling his eyes, rolling his chair around and heading to his room. RE says she will order dinner served, and by instinct Pato just responds ‘I am not hungry!’. RE says she went to see Dra Houser. Don’t bother me, don’t ask. She does, however have the right to ask the questions, she questions Alexia where her dad is… (really, RE??)

Julie phones Gala to ask for an apology, given, and then tells her the DNA test was negative.  Gala says I knew it, it is not so easy to find a child who surely is in heaven. Julie says we have to celebrate. Gala responds I am already ahead of you, very happy here on earth, with my new boo Milko… c’iao!! … ok, where were we? Cheers!!

At TL manor, Rod can’t stay for dinner, it is getting late for Alexia… RE comments to a table with only Max and Janah, I thought with the grandchildren that the laughter and joy would return home but this house is more lonely each day… RE will have a tray with Pato’s dinner… Janah questions her who will take the tray to Pato. When RE shouts that she will, Janah and Max roll their eyes…

RE goes to Pato’s room to take him his dinner… She tries to admit he is mad at her. He says he is not mad, he is hurt.  RE tries to convince him her intention was not to hurt him. He says it is not just what you tell me hurting me. But you also hurt the others with what you tell and do to them.  RE questions if it hurts him this bad for Mati to be gone. He barks at her ‘Yes! It is not fair what you did! She loves you as a daughter, but she also loves us and wants to see us happy, but unfortunately you don’t share our joy with us, you believes whoever does not agree with your ideas is against you. RE says no that’s not it. You all do everything to go against me. Pato says no, mother. All we look for is our happiness, and you consciously or unsconsciously do all you can to prevent that. RE insists that is not true, if that is what you all believe, you are all wrong! (CASE CLOSED!!) There is nothing I can do. All I can do is apologize for my behavior… (she rolls the tray over to him even though he has said several times he is not hungry). She basically insists he forgive her so he forgives her. Ay, hijo, Thank you. ‘All Christians know how to forgive’. Love you.(funny way to show it lady!). She finally leaves him alone.

In the morning, Luci comes in Mateo’s room to meet him, he is more than happy to meet her and wants to give her a kiss, then she asks to give him a kiss herself. He opens his arms wide to receive her kiss, they hug with a very happy Rod looking over them.

Previews: Gala is set on getting much money out of Rod to divorce him.
VO: But with Luci’s presence in Mateo’s life, also are present the doubts…
Chelo: Who are you, Mateo?
CHuy: What if Rod and Luci are Mateo’s true parents?
(we see that both Rod and Luci get to know the place where Mateo and Chelo live)

Por ella soy Eva #85 11/16/12: Recognition, and Lack Thereof.

No pimp slap for Claudia tonight. Better luck next week!

Marcela asks Fernando where he got the money for all the home entertainment stuff he brought home. He tells her he found he's getting a big bonus too. She disapproves of spending money before receiving it. "Party-pooper," is the wittiest reply Ferni can dredge up.

JC wipes his new mirror clean and tells Mimi he's still bummed out over Helena. Fortunately, his parents will be visiting at GI tomorrow and he's got a plan!

Modesto and Eugenia discuss tomorrow's visit to Grupo Imperio. Eugenia says there's someone at GI she'd prefer to avoid. She asks Modesto what he plans to do about Claudia. Modesto ignores her question in favor of getting a drink of water.

El Mundo de Telemundo, Week of Thanksgiving 2012: Discuss Amongst Yourselves

What Telemundies have to be thankful for:

Hombre de misterio continues his impressive solo recapping of Pablo Escobar while the beautifully crafted recaps of Novelera and Jean lead us through the twists and turns of the telenovela that wouldn't die, Corazón Valiente.  And where would we be without Deb's terrific comments on the whole Telemundo lineup and especially her background information on the terrible Escobar years in Colombia?  Thank you so much to the four of you -- and to everyone who comments here -- for keeping this page lively over the past several months.

Rosa Diamante has its fans too and Deb and Shallowgal, among others, update us now and then on that show.

El rostro de la venganza gets some attention here from time to time -- Thanks, Bill C, for your writeups -- but like the orphaned Rosa, no one has really taken it on as a project.

A few cranky observations:

On Pablo Escobar
I'm still watching Pablo Escobar but I'm liking it less and less.  The historical facts are ghastly enough. Yet at times, the made-up conversations cheapen the very real tragedy being portrayed. (Think of the little girl on the plane who, gazing out at the clouds, tells her daddy they are now close to her [dead] mother.)

Hombre, I apologize for not commenting very much on your remarkable daily summaries.  Please know that I always read them and always appreciate them.  I'm usually a day or two behind because I record and watch when I have time.

So why am I watching this thing at all? I think I need to see some kind of justice restored.  I want to see the fall of the bad guys and the end of this terrible chapter of Colombia's history.

On El rostro de la venganza
I watch this because it's only a half hour long and it comes right after Pablo.  While the underlying story is gruesome and at times shockingly violent, the novela itself somehow manages to have no emotional resonance at all.  The dialogue is endlessly recycled. We sit and watch our favorite beautiful people forming various tableaux vivants.  (If People en español were a telenovela, this is the one it would be.) For me the only real mystery is how they are going to manage the Presto Chango of Elizabeth Gutiérrez into Marlene Favela.  That should be fun!

On Corazón valiente
Because of the way the evening telenovelas bleed over into one another's time slot, my DVR catches the last two or three minutes of this show.  Almost every episode ends with a cliffhanger that in another novela would mean últimas capítulos.  Here it just seems to mean "We'll keep this thing going as long as you keep watching."  I think Aurora (la princesa de hielo) tried to do this too but not nearly as successfully.  Folks are watching more or less enthusiastically, so I guess the production team is doing something right.  Anyway, I'm glad the talented Telemundo actors have work.

Your turn, amig@s.  And a happy, healthy, warm, dry and safe Thanksgiving to you all.  Eat well and not too wisely!

Amor Bravío #64 (Uni 59) Wed 11/14/12 “The Mean Streets of El Pueblo”

We begin our story tonight in the mean streets of the pueblo; LeoSordido has shot Pablo and Dandres.   Now both Dandres and Pablo lie in the street, bleeding, with Leo Sordido standing over them with a pistola aimed at Dandres’ heart.  LeoSordido aims carefully and we see the gun up close… and closer … he pulls the trigger, and CLICK.. bullets, no hay.  What a genius!  He shakes the  bubblegun but nothing happens. Viewerville hopes he looks into the barrel and finds the last bullet on its way out and into his empty little skull.  Suddenly, down the street, Amanda emerges from the hostel, yelling “Auxilio! Policia!” … LeoSordido disappears.   Amanda runs into the street, desperate and distressed as she sees it is Pablo and Dandres who have been shot and are lying in the street .

Por ella soy Eva #84 11/14/12: I Heard You're Getting Married!

Finally, an action packed episode.

Eva and Adriano are in Adriano’s office and he feels abandoned and lonely because she is going away this weekend. He will miss her. He has an idea, he will work on the weeding preparations but Eva has a better idea. Speak to Modesto and Eugenia about the investigation that he needs to complete. Adriano asks Eva, what?? Am I going to tell Juan Carlos’ mother about the account that he opened in her name? Eva reminds him that it is the supposed account. Adriano says that its not supposed it is an actual account. Adriano wants to leave JC in the past.

Claudia asks Eugenia what are you reading? Eugenia is reading the play- The House of Bernanrda Alba by Garcia Lorca ( a side note, I love Garcia Lorca- he is my favorite author!!!!- Wow that bought back memories) Claudia asks Eugenia- is it true that you were famous? How come you don’t act anymore (Listen honey- Eugenia is acting right now by keeping herself calm, and being a class act because if it was any other woman- Claudio and Modesto would be living in the street) Eugenia tells her that she is not going to fall for her nonsense and that she promised to be seen and not heard.
The rude teenager- says that if you were so beautiful and so famous how come your husband met my plain ole mom who was a secretary? (Claudia is out of line) Eugenia lets Claudia know that if she wanted to bother her she has won, but that’s what Eugenia gets for letting her stay in her house.
Eugenia walks out of the room past a clueless Modesto, who asks, what happened? The little liar says nothing, I swear.

Back to Adriano’s office- Adriano wants to look ahead, but Eva says- yes Grupo Imperio is a part of our future and there are things that have to be clarified. Adriano agrees to speak to JC’s parents. Anything for Eva.
In Santi and Ferni’s non-productive office- Santi is complaining about his wife while Ferni is perfecting his paper airplane. Santi doesn’t have any money, credit cards are maxed out but all she wants to do is party every weekend. Ferni tells Santi that he needs to take control and stop complaining. Santi is upset because she spends all day at home doing nothing. A man enters their office and Ferni has had enough of his paper airplane and gives them privacy by leaving the office.

The rude girl is listening to music and Modesto tells her to have patience and compassion with his wife because she just finished undergoing treatments for mental treatments and Claudia asks- is she crazy? This girl really crosses the line!! Why isn’t she in school??? Modesto proceeds to tell her that no she is not crazy and that she is getting better every day and your presence is not helping the situation. Claudia throws a guilt trip on Modesto, reminding him that she is accustomed to him not being around when she needed him, etc, etc. Modesto tells her that this is not the time to discuss such matters. (Whoa- what about putting the little girl in her place. Whatever shortcomings he has needs to be discussed with her mother. Then he justifies his actions by blaming Eugenia. Did I miss something here, Modesto?? You had an affair with your secretary, had children born out of wedlock and you are blaming your wife for not allowing you to visit your other family, pleeeeeeeezzzzzzzzz!) He also throws in the death of Juan Carlos and that these are things that should be discussed with her mother- finally. His cell rings- it’s his buddy, Adriano. Claudia mimics Modesto.

The man in the office tells Santi that with his pay cut and the loans that he owes he will have a very small paycheck. Uh oh!! It’s time for somebody else in the Escudero home to get a job.

Helena shows her engagement ring to Lucia. Helena shares with Lucia, that in front of Lalo, Mad Dad, her mom, Adriano and Eva, Pluti asked her to marry him. Lucia wanted to be there and asks Helena how come she didn’t tell her. Helena tells her that it was a surprise. Lucia, who as silly as she is notices that Helena is not very enthusiastic about her engagement. If it were Lucia she would be doing the happy dance. Lucia (who is now getting on my nerves) is complaining about Renato and their non- relationship. A blue dress (I forgot her name) brings some papers to Helena and welcomes her back to work. Lucia proceeds to shout out Helena’s engagement to Pluti and the blue dress can’t wait to run out and spread the gossip to the other blue dresses. Lucia is so full of emotion that she and the blue dress do some type of bridal walk, dance, I was ready to reach for the remote, oh I can’t, I’m recapping. Just as I predicted, the blue dresses and Marsela are talking about the upcoming weddings, Dona Eva and Adriano and Helena and Don Plutarco. As usual everyone is not working and talking about brides and weddings and Rebeca overhears the conversation. Pluti is getting married? Yes, Marsela tells her, her asked Helena to marry him. Rebeca starts insulting the blue dresses.
Rebeca continues with her trepadora insults regarding Helena and says that she hates women like Helena. Marsela says that Helena is not like that and they are marrying because they are in love. Rebeca looks ill. Everyone is complimenting the physical beauty of the betrothed couple and of course Rebeca throws in her insults- Prince William and Princess Kate are a beautiful couple, Helena and Pluti are ugly, etc. etc. Marsela asks- aren’t you a little bitter? Be happy for them. I think that they make a beautiful couple and I am happy for them, as should you. Rebeca- the Queen Naca- blames herself for listening to the gossip from the naca bowl and flies away on her blue broom. The Evaleets and Marsela remember the song by Shakira-“No Se Puede Vivir Con Tanto Veneno”. (Shakira - No [Gustavo Cerati]
Rebeca bursts into Helena’s office- under the pretense of handing over all of the Playa Mayagua paperwork. We know that this will not end well. (Did I miss the blue memo at the office today?) Helena thanks her but you know that there is more to come. She congratulates the single mom for her good luck with the Vice President. The hypocrite Rebeca can’t believe that Pluto forgot so soon about his wife, Dona Tony, the lovely adored woman, and she has the nerve to blow kisses to her (she should have been struck down with a lightening bolt). Helena and I shared the same facial expression for once. - the look of disgust. Helena says that he hasn’t forgotten her, he is just moving forward with his life and he has a right to. (Says who?) Rebeca just thinks that its months later, its too soon. Rebeca shares that according to gossip- Pluti married Antonia for interest/convenience. She has the nerve to ask Helena, if she heard that? Uh no, Rebeca, unlike you she works. Helena doesn’t have time to listen to gossip. Rebeca also shares (from first hand experience) that Pluti was never faithful to Antonia.

Ferni is on the phone talking to someone, sounds like an order and gets off of the phone in a hurry when Marsela enters the office and pretends to be working, typing one finger at a time.
Rebeca shares her memories of Pluti before he got married, going from one to the other. Helena has confidence in Pluti and she will have him clear up any lover issues. Rebeca is so sad, just looking for any type of reaction. She says how life takes a turn and starts on JC, saying that he was the lowest of the lows, mistreated women and now you are engaged to his rival Pluti. What irony? Helena says that they are men with virtues and defects. Rebeca says that JC knew how to hurt women including her. He was an enchanter and knew how to attract women. Helena does not want to speak of the dead. Rebeca still looking for the sting- tells Helena that he would have never married you.

Santi is talking to Angelica about his cut in pay, lack of finances and he doesn’t know how he is going to make it through the month. and how she has to sacrifice. She needs to think about going to school but she is not sure what she wants to study, something technical, fashion English, interior design (picture that??) She suggests that he asks her parents and he can’t. He tried when he was with Patti and it was a no go. Lucia walks in listens to the conversation and asks Santi, if everything is okay. Santi gives her a look of defeat.

Rebeca is still in Helena’s office talking about JC and his player ways (sheer foolishness), gossip about players who promise to marry their girlfriends, blah, blah, blah and Helena cuts her off and tells her to get back to work, she doesn’t have time for foolishness (listening to gossip) because she has a lot of work to do. Rebeca’s last pearl of wisdom- whoever gets angry loses, then she flies out on her broom. Helena tries to contain herself.

Fern the idiot is waiting for Rebeca and wants to know more details of their partnership. Rebeca tells them that they can’t talk there.

Rebeca bursts into Pluto’s office to start her foolishness. Rebeca is one miserable person. She says that she heard the gossip in the hallways that he is going to get married. What a pathetic couple. So you prefer a single mother to me. You are a naco. Pluti doesn’t want to hear her opinion. She tells him that its not a good idea to live where bad has happened Pluto tells her that she can’t spoil his happiness and don’t think about trying to blackmail him. He told her that she should be on her knees thanking him for allowing her to work there. He told her to disappear leave his office before he throws her out. They insult each other about the 10 years that they spent together, she calls him a hot mess (I think) and he can’t believe that he spent so much time with her.

One of the Evalettes has free time and asks if they want to get coffee, what free time, they don’t work. The Evalettes are sad and talking about how they miss Mimi and her Avon. They can’t live without it.
Eva goes into Helena’s office to talk about the construction company if Helena has time and they have a que, que, and que contest. Que, Que, Que. Eva wants to know if Helena is angry with her. Helena said that she has gotten over it. Eva starts asking about Pluti and Helena asks her to stop and leave it in the past.
Pluti wants to talk in private with Helena about Playa Mayagua-ewwwwwwwwwww!!! Eva says that that the three of them can discuss it, but she is sent out of the office. Kissy, kissy time- yuck!!!
Helena doesn’t seem to pleased with the kiss, maybe her b.s. detector is finally working or maybe she can still hear Rebeca’s conversation.
Helena and Pluti are talking about choosing a construction company- Fitsi. Pluti seems to favor them.

Santi and Lucia (who make a great couple and will probably end up together) Santi wants Angelica to work or go to school. Lucia tells Santi that she has always worked and has paid for her schooling. She should be proud. Lucia suggests that perhaps Angelica can talk better with a female than her husband. Rebeca is her best friend- enough said. (Dumb and dumber)

Pluti notices that Helena is a tad bit cold and asks her what’s up? She says that even though we are engaged, I don’t know much about you? Pluti tells her that he worked his way up the ladder, he studied, graduated worked for Grupo Imperio for about 10 years, met Antonia fell in love and married her. He is proud to be a VP based on merit and not marriage. He is not interested in the past, only in being a family with her and Lalo.

The two gold diggers are conversating on the phone- Angelica is complaining to Rebeca that Santi wants her to go to school. She doesn’t want to go to school, she teases Rebeca because at least she is married and has a husband to take care of her and for cuchi cuchi.
Rebeca said that she would rather stay single than to be married to someone as useless as Santi and have kids. Angelica tells Rebeca that she knows that she is dying to marrying Pluti who doesn’t want her and she is an old maid and can’t find anyone else. Rebeca disagrees, she get whomever she wants. (What a toxic relationship these two “friends” have? I don’t want to have one up on my friends) She wasted 10 years with Pluti; she has work to do- bye!

Renato and Pluti discuss his work with Helena that Renato is working hard and that Pluti can help Speed Racer move up in the company, he has influence over Adriano. He can move up and have a position like Juan Carlos. Renato seems pleased. The ball is in his court. The VP position may be available soon and it could be his, just like JC. Renato can help him.

Santi tells Helena that he is behind in his work but he will try to catch up. He also congratulates her on the upcoming nuptials. She stops him and says that she has to ask him something about JC.

Mimi and Eva are having lunch and Eva, he feels like he is operating on automatic pilot. She/he finds it hard to continue without Helena’s love and feels useless.

Helena asks Santi if JC was really going to marry her? Santi asked her why did she have the doubt and Helena said that it was something that Rebeca said. Santi told her that Helena was the only woman that he loved. He was madly in love with her. He wanted to have a family with she and Lalito. It was a little uncomfortable but it seemed to revive Helena.
Here comes Pluti, what a pain!!! He wants to take her out to dinner after work, but she wants to work alone. Buzz off- Pluti!!!!

Lucia, Santi and Angelica are out having a cup of coffee and Lucia is giving suggestions to Angelica on how to find things that she is interested in. Angelica is interesting in dancing and being Santi’s kept wife.

Helena visits JC’s grave and she reminds of a line in The Godfather III- just when I thought that I was out they pulled me back in.”

Angelica doesn’t do anything, that why she got married so that her husband can take care of her. She and Santi proceed to slobber over each other at the table. Lucia tries to suggest- secretary, waitress, catalog seller, etc. but it doesn’t work.
Helena is still having her conversation with JC. It always feels as if you are so close to me at all times. I can touch you. She doesn’t believe that he is in his grave. She needs JC to die in her heart.

At Ferni’s house, Ferni arrives with a flat screen TV and a home theatre system. Jennifer helps Ferni the idiot say high definition. Marsela wants to know- where did you get the money to buy this.

Coming attractions- Oneismo is visiting Eugenia and having her sign some papers. Eugenia recognizes Oneismo at Grupo Imperio.

Refugio Para el Amor #153 Wed 11/14/12 Lorenzo gets into Hot Water with RE; Mati gets into Hot Water with RE; Jana gets into Hot Water with RE; RE gets into Hot Water with Patricio; Max stays Lukewarm

El Refrito
Rod and Alexia are sitting at the coffee table drawing.
Claudio and Luci are driving by where Claudio met Rodrigo’s little friend Mateo, but she isn’t able to see him because his head is inside the white bag.

Partial Refrito
Roselena has kept Jana’s date at the Café de Chinos with Lorenzo.  She’s punctual, she points out, showing Lorenzo Jana’s cell phone.  Her presence commands respect, she radiates power and possesses complete self-control.  What is she up to?  Smiling sweetly, after cleaning off her place, she avers she’s never been to a place like this, accepts Lorenzo’s choice of Bisquets and orders coffee, but wants the liquid boiling.  They watch as it is served at the table.  Lorenzo is sweating bullets, expecting a show-down in the OK corral.  The internal heat is getting to him, so he takes his jacket off, then politely warns her not to burn herself as the coffee is hot.  RE answers, still smiling sweetly, I know, as she flings the hot liquid across and splatters it all over Lorenzo’s chest.  Then she innocently exclaims, Que Barbaridad, as if someone else had perpetrated the deed.  She looks around saying, Forgive me, Forgive me, to anyone who might have been watching.  She gets up, and while Lor is in agony, hisses in his ear, this is the last time she’s going to warn him to stay away from her daughter.  Then she sweeps out.  In the car, she tells Genaro to vamoose and we are witness to that sick smile as she rolls up the window.  The woman at the next table who saw the “accident” thinks it was deplorable behavior and remarks, as Viewerville knows already, that señora is LOCA.  Poor Lor, although badly burned, says the thing that hurts most is his heart.

Note:  Why do the episodes I recap have so much important dialog.  Or is it just me that thinks every spoken word is critical to the storyline.  Forgive my verbiage—again.  Ultimas semanas is giving me ultimas headaches with the rapid-fire scene changes; so I, too will be combining action in the interest of saving on aspirin.

Lo de Hoy
TL Mansion, Cellblock  J – After being locked in by MamaLoca, Jana has cried herself out and is a bit calmer, pining away on her bed, remorseful that she bears the blame for leaving her cell phone at the house, giving her mother the opportunity to snoop and discover her movements. (Q-Jana knew where she and Lor were going to meet, why didn’t she just GO there, and forget the phone?)

TL Mansion, Living Room –Pato arrives to find Mati in hysterics.  He can’t make heads or tails of the nonsense she’s trying to tell him—that Roselena locked Jana in her room when she found out Jana was on her way to meet Lorenzo…she knew because she saw Lorenzo’s cell phone message because Jana forgot and left her phone in her bedroom…then RE left probably to go intercept Lorenzo at the Café de Chinos, pant, pant, pant.  Mati couldn’t let Jana out because RE took all the keys, including the duplicates. (Your recapper also calls that dangerous and irresponsible, in case of fire, but our Roselena is only thinking of carnal dangers.)  Pato wastes no time—Let’s GO.

El Barrio  – We see Lor, with serious 1st degree burns and in pain (and shirtless) being tended to by Estelita.  She wants him to report this incident to the police but Lor doesn’t want to.  This is just between him and Roselena.  Meanwhile, Estelita is applying salve with her fingers and he’s flinching with pain.  Lor is firm that he doesn’t want Estelita to tell anyone, not even Fabian.  She calls Roselena a LOCA.  Lor, bless his heart, is still trying to see the best side of RE—menacing him is not enough to kill his love for Jana.  It’s true love he feels for her.  He’s not going to give her up just because of the kind of mother she has.  Señora Roselena is the mother of the person he loves and so, deserves his respect.  (What a guy!  Can we have some more just like him, please?)

TL Mansion, Cellblock  J   Mati and Pato arrive too late to help Jana.  RE got there first, and as cold and dangerous as dry ice, is unlocking the door.  Pato reacts—What are you doing, mama? Are you making our house into a prison? Are these new house rules? Locking up your children so they will listen to you?  Merely reading her look, it says, who are you to challenge me, I am the mistress of this house.  There’s a staring contest between the two and neither RE nor Pato back down.  (Can your recapper call this a Mexican stand-off without getting into trouble with the PC police?)

Rod and Gala’s Doom ‘n Gloom Room— Rod comes in to Gala’s bedroom to find out what she wanted.  It sounds like the start of a civil conversation.  Gala says she recognizes she didn’t behave properly last night and begs his pardon, but asks him to put himself in her place and see how it feels to live this way.  Five years of silence, rejected, scorned (despreciada), ignored, undesired.  Rod replies that he is sorry he can’t respond to her the way she’d like or deserves but he can’t fake it (fingir). In trying to fix one mistake, they committed another.  Gala thinks he’s referring to Alexia as the mistake.  No, the mistake was getting married when the love between them had come to an end.  That causes Gala to state (she’s fingiendo, no?) she loved him then, loves him now and always loved him.  (What a two-faced Juli she is.)  Does he think there would be any other way she would tolerate his constant humiliations?  Rod is struck dumb(a$$).  Is he thinking she’s right or is he thinking she’s a great actress.  (Being the dumb(a$$) we know is dead to us, he’s probably thinking the former rather than the latter.)

Rod backs down (darn) with a weak-kneed, sorry, I couldn’t love you.  He agrees that it’s not pleasant living this way, without love.  Gala wants him to try, for Alexia’s sake.  Rod says it’s Alexia he’s thinking of.  It’s not her fault things are the way they are between them.  Don’t put her in the middle of their battlefield.  He would give his life for her and Gala knows it, so she shouldn’t use Alexia to get to him (agredirme).

Amores Verdaderos #6 Wed 11/14/12 A new day/show in the Ring-Round-The-Rosie Brothers Frankie and Angel Circus… and Salsero better be a good dancer, he sucks at coordinating kidnappings..

And let's not go there about Salsero's job as security manager for the B family.
