Abismo de pasión #132 9/18/12: Todos Nuestros Amigos en L'Ermita Tienen Mala Suerte
"...Luck is not to be coerced..." -- Albert Camus
After her terrible attack, a shaken and injured Carmina comes to Dr. Tovar's office. She tells her truthful tale, but here Carmina pushes her luck--Edmundo imagines that she is just lying, once again.
Now Carmina tries her usual seductive tricks and makes a huge play for Edmundo. She moves in on him and says that when he kisses her lips he won't be able to forget her...Edmundo wrestles himself away from Agent Orange and refuses her advances. But, with impeccably perfect antagonista timing, Carmina grabs Edmundo and practically forces him into what might be taken for a passionate embrace. At this moment, Begoña comes in and sees the struggling couple. Edmundo breaks away telling Carmina, "Between you and I (there) is absolutely nothing."
Begoña's face registers surprise but the real shock comes when Carmina, who is still toxic even though she has just been victimized, sprays her poison into the room--she tells Edmundo not to deny that they were lovers, four times, months ago. Way to be specific, Carmina.
Edmundo sees his recent détente with Begoña collapse. A horrified Begone tells Carmina, "I can't believe how wrong I was about you. How stupid I was." Wow, she is just now noticing! Begoña stalks out. Edmundo chases her, but Begoña is done with Edmundo (for the moment). Edmundo manhandles Carmina and throws her out of his office.
Merida, at the Neurosurgeon's Office
"He was just a coward and that was the worst luck any many could have." -- Ernest Hemingway, For Whom the Bell Tolls
Gabino comes in to see the neurologist dude. Gabino is a bad man, good at inflicting pain on others, but his own threshold for pain is very low. He has a BAD headache and he demands that something be done to rid him of the pain. Gabino menaces the doc with some serious attitude and the doc tells him to calm down. In order to help him they need to do some tomographic studies of his cabeza but he must be calm. We see Gabino, once again donned in his fetching hospital gown with sensors on his head as the doc does the CAT scans. I 'll give you two options for WHY Gabino has such a headache. Could it be...the bullet in his brain or the festering guacamole still in the bullet hole? Stay tuned...

Por ella soy Eva #45 9/18/12: It's time for the good guys to win one, please?
- Pluto puts the screws on Helena while Eva eavesdrops and comes barging in to interfere.
Rebeca apologizes to Pluto for her lousy attitude and says that since he doesn’t want to be around her now, they should break up. “Just forget all those games we have... the 5-star hotels, our corporate meetings in the jacuzzi...” This revs him up and they have sex on the desk, goodbye to disfunction.
Rebe crows to her black-haired friend: “Your advice worked perfectly. I’m a genius.” “I won’t congratulate you until you’re married.” Incidentally, when the boss told this friend to quit yakking on the phone, she quit her job.
- Helena to Eva: “When you’re a stockholder you won’t want to be a secretary any more.” “On the contrary! I know what, I’ll give the shares to you!” This earns her back the points she loses every time she butts into Helena’s private business. Helena smiles: “I’ve worked for everything I’ve had in this life and that’s how I’ll continue.” JC is smitten again. His stare makes Helena nervous.
They go off to have a talk with Helena’s mom, saying: “You need to talk about what happened when you lost your baby.” Silvia refuses to tell, saying “All that’s left to women like me is dignity.” Eva sends Helena off to pick up Lalo at school and coaxes mom out of her room: “Like you, I’m a woman who has suffered a lot.”
Eva tells a porky: “When I was six I saw my uncle shake and beat my aunt. We thought they were playing... and afterwards my aunt pretended nothing was wrong.” “One never imagines one’s spouse could do such things.” “My Aunt stayed with him to the last day of her life.” “I understand that.” “Nobody has the right to maltreat us in any way.”
- To quickly dispatch the tedious subplot of Marcela’s husband the orangutan: he’s forced her to accompany him as he sneaks around following their son. When the kid meets up with a guy, the parents sneak through the gate. Fernando grabs his son’s friend and smacks him. Turns out the guy is a music teacher and it’s band practice. The son is furious and embarrassed FF
- Helena tells her son he’ll be able to come live with her starting this weekend. Eduardo listens as Lalo protests: “No, gramps is still sick, you come here with us.”
Eduardo tries convincing Lalo not to go live with his mother. He protests that he loves his grands but he really really loves his mom: “She makes me laugh, she has soft hands, she tells me stories. I love her so much.”
Meanwhile Silvia finally tells her sad story to Helena: “I was young, you were young, I wanted to finish school, I dreamed of a career, but your dad didn’t want that. We fought until … I invented falling down the stairs so the police wouldn’t get involved.” “Why did you stay?” “For you! He protected us, and I thought my love would change him.” “One who’s violent never changes. He’s humiliated both of us for years. Now I see why he’s obsessed with Lalo.” This was a great conversation – I hope it helped any beaten wives who were watching it. Helena can’t believe her mom won’t leave.
- JC tells Mimi how lonely Adriano is. Mimi’s friend is going to give her a chance to meet Maxim Gurtzain on the radio. I dunno if that’s somebody real.
- Silvia tries to talk to her husband about the future. “The only future that interests me is my grandson’s. “Silvia, I want you to help me keep him here with us in this house. “ “I won’t help, his place is with his mother.”
- While Eva and Helena wonder if Silvia will ever see she’d be better off without Eduardo, and joke about some ball game that’s coming up, Silvia looks for her husband but instead finds a note: “I won’t lose my grandson! Helena won’t win this battle! Goodbye.” Silvia is locked in the house! Tomorrow Eduardo is going to steal Lalo from school.
- Helena, not hearing the sound of the anvil dropping, happily tells her co-workers that Playa Majagua phase two is ready. Eva is reminded she has to come up with her documents in order to be a shareholder. Adriano wants a party for their suppliers and associates.

Abismo de pasión #131 9/17/12- Abysmal Passion
Repeat: Playa del Ejido de San Crisanto -Dam and Elisa are walking down the beach hand in hand. Elisa is still pretending to be mad about her kidnapping. Dam says they need to look for a place to stay the night, and lo and behold, there is cabana for rent. As Dam settles up with the owner, Elisa decides to take a jog down the beach, hoping that Dam will chase after her. He doesnʼt disappoint. Once he catches her, she pretends to be mad saying that she hates him. They go back and forth about how much he loves her, how much she hates him. Finally to put an end to this abysmal passion, she pulls Damʼs gun out (no, thatʼs not a metaphor) and aims it at him. Everyone watching is still sitting back in their seats relaxed, because everyone, including Dam, knows that she will never shoot him, even though heʼs telling her to. She then says to him “Donʼt stop me”. (Elisa dear, heʼs not trying to, in fact heʼs telling you to put him out of his misery). Then she aims the gun to the sky and tries to fire it, but Damʼs gun has no bullets in it. (no, thatʼs not a metaphor either) Elisa is surprised that itʼs empty and yells at him for lying to her. He replies that sheʼs crazy, everyone watching this show knows you werenʼt ever going to shoot me. Itʼs the least she could do for abandoning his wife and child. Do you love Gael? Yes, she says, with all my heart. (We can see she has her fingers crossed behind her back) He carries her to the cabana.
Nuevo- Carmina is wallowing in her aloneness having a solitary dinner. She lit some a lot of candles and pours herself some a lot of wine. It starts to storm outside and that eerie aah aah music starts to play. She gets her drunk on. She finishes dinner and takes her wine with her as she puts out the candles and lights and goes to bed.
Gab shows up at the hospital and wants Doc to give him something for his massive
head ache. Doc tells him itʼs so painful because he has a bullet in his head.
Itʼs nighttime at the cabana and raining hard. Elisa is sitting in a very unladylike position at the table with Dam. I hope sheʼs wearing underwear. The lighting from the candle is not doing either of them any favors with their looks. Elisa says youʼre crazy if you think Iʼm spending the night here. Dam says that heʼs not letting her go back to Gael. Well, heʼs the best lover I ever had, yes, thatʼs right, we did it. Heʼs better than you. Dam says no one is better than him and he leaves.
Dam leaves to get Floʼs envelope from the saddle bag. (Does that poor horse have to stand there the entire night without any oats? PETA!!) Dam reads Floʼs letter.
Sabrina and Flo are sitting together at Docʼs house staring at each other. Thank goodness Enrique arrives to break the silence. He wants to know why Floʼs there and what happened to her fake baby. Sabrina gets up to leave, but not before telling Enrique that she hopes he isnʼt stupid enough to forgive her because she never will.Flo tells Enrique that she gave Dam signed divorce papers and they will be finished. At the same time that Flo is telling Enrique, Damian is reading the same thing in the letter she gave him. It all started when Alfie put my dad in jail for something he didnʼt do. Thatʼs when I decided to come back to La Ermita and figure a way to get Dad out of jail. Alfie said she would let him off if Flo agreed to marry and have Damʼs baby. But Flo found out that she is sterile. But Flo and Alfie plotted to seduce Dam and let him think that she got pregnant. She needed a baby and Sabrina was pregnant. The rest is history.
Dam finishes reading the letter and walks out into the rain. He stays out long enough to get completely soaked. This is where TN rule #28 gets invoked. That rule states that if a person goes out into the rain and gets completely soaked they will then get pneumonia later that day or the next day.
Gael is sitting alone in the house that he bought for Elisa and him. Heʼs remembering back to the time when he showed her the house and how happy they were. Gael tells her his gun is fully loaded and heʼs not afraid to fire it. (That is a metaphor) It was a memorable event because it was one of the few times when Elisa was wearing a respectable dress. Padre arrives and interrupts his flashback to try to convince him to come home. The touching ooh ooh music is playing. Gael promises to kill Damian. No padre says, you are not a killer. Heʼs like your brother. Gael says that no brother would do what he did to him.
Doc informs Gabino that only surgery will stop the pounding in his head. Thatʼs because you have a bullet in your head. Gab wants to know why didnʼt he take it out? Doc says because it is delicate surgery and we needed a specialist. Doc wants to know how it was that Ingrid shot him. Gab says that the only thing that woman cares about is money. If Doc knew who Gaels dad was, heʼd know that heʼd get a big inheritance and she wanted the money from it. Doc asks if he knows where she is? No, but since you were her lover, you should. Gab is just happy that he wasnʼt the only idiot who fell for her.
Enrique and Flo are still talking. Heʼs mad. How could she team up with Paolo and plot to steal Sabrinaʼs baby? She knows it was a bad decision but she was desperate. He doesnʼt want to hear anymore and tells her to beat it. She tells him that after the death of her father, she realized that she did awful things and she now sees the error of her ways and is truly sorry. She wants to go about setting things right. She hopes that he can be happy with Paloma and the baby. He asks what sheʼs going to do and she says she doesnʼt know. He seems to be acting like heʼs warming to her again. (Here is what I would tell Enrique if he were my friend or brother. Enrique, although she may very well be repentant, she has proven that she would do anything if she felt desperate. She plotted to steal first Keniaʼs and then you own sisterʼs baby because she felt that was her only option. So something unethical and illegal is not off the table? In the future, can you trust her to not make the more decisions if she feels desperate again? Some things are just not forgivable, and plotting to steal your sisterʼs baby should be one of them.)
Edmundo visits Begonia. He wanted to tell her that Sabrina is in town and staying at his house. Begonia tells him that Paolo is also in town. She then does her usual and tries to get him to take her back. He tells her he has to leave.
Elisa tells Dam that as soon as it stops raining and she sees a unicorn jumping over the moon, sheʼs leaving. Dam tells her not to try, heʼs going to tie her up. (her look implies that sheʼs not unhappy about that)
Camina is in bed now with her wine. She remembers back to when she killed Augusto. Some pounding noise wakes her up from her revery and she goes to investigate. Paolo meets her at her bedroom door and forces himself in. He is there to pay her back for putting him in jail. Then he rapes her. (At this point, Iʼm reminding myself that Carmina killed 2 innocent people and that she started and continued a lie that has ruined many peoples lives, including the 2 she killed. She is pure evil.) Afterward, Paolo says that he canʼt believe he ever cared about a dried up old hag like her. He insults her more, with words that I donʼt know but I understand.
Ramona tries to get Paloma to drink something (it looks like a yummy smoothy) before she leaves for work. (Iʼll take it if she doesnʼt want it) Alfie arrives to ask Paloma if she knows where Damian and Elisa are. She doesnʼt know, but tells her that they are finally far away from her for once. Then Alf asks why Ramona wanted to talk to Damian before the wedding. Ramona tells Alfie that she told Dam her patented saying that no one can escape their destiny. Not even her.
Back at the cabana, Elisa is asleep on a hammock with her hands and feet tied up. (how kinky) Dam comes in and unties her and starts to cough, (see rule #28) Heʼs brought her breakfast. Tostitos Brand® Tostachos on a plate with melted Velveta® cheese sauce for dipping. (How does anyone sleep in a hammock all night and not need an hour massage by a cabana boy who looks like Damian without a shirt on when they stand up, I donʼt know.) Elisa has a look on her face like she secretly liked being tied up all night and heads for the table to eat. Pass the dip.
Elisa walks outside to wash up and gives the male viewers what they want. She sexily splashes water on her face and neck. Then she looks into her storage unit, also known as her cleavage, and reaches in to retrieve something. Letʼs see, where is it? Hereʼs my lucky rabbitʼs foot, hereʼs my pen that writes really good, hereʼs the ticket stub from that fabulous Pitbull concert in the La Ermita park last July, a couple of pesos for an emergency phone call, and oh, here it is, my amulet. She walks away from the cabana and demonstrates to us how she could have benefited from playing sports as a child by throwing the amulet as far as she is able and it goes about 5 feet away. Dan comes out and tells Elisa to not get any ideas about taking the horse. It wonʼt let her put a saddle on it or let her ride it bareback. He sees the amulet she threw and picks it up.
Begonia comes to Docʼs house with a plate of food to lure Doc into getting back together. He says goodbye and she stays to visit Sabrina. Sabrina wants nothing to do with her.
Alf comes home and tells Antonia that she needs her pills. Padre comes to visit. Alfie is starting to realize the error of her ways, but is still mad at Flo for deceiving her. Padre points out that she did the same thing to her.
Carmina comes to visit Doc at his office. Sheʼs walking slowly, no doubt in pain. She tells him that Paolo is out of jail and that he raped her. Doc is unsympathetic. She cries and wants to know what to do about it. Tells her to go see the on call doctor. Sheʼs upset that heʼs not taking her seriously. She telling him this so he can protect Sabrina. He says that he can protect her just fine and to leave. She starts blubbering about how she needs him and he must still care about her. She starts to kiss him and he is too weak to push her away. Thatʼs when Begonia walks into the office without knocking first.

Por ella soy Eva #44 9/17/12
Eva's tampering to protect Helena from Pluto is beginning to rub her the wrong way. I guess it would get pretty annoying. Eva intercepts Pluto's flower for Helena, and takes it straight to Rebeca as evidence (oooh, good strategy - if only Rebeca could stay mad long enough to lay some hurt on Pluto), then crushes it beneath her hefty tacon.
The crafty plan works, and Rebe comes to Pluto to pout and yell. He tells her to dominate her hormones and, as usual, she lets him get away with it.
Pluto meets onesimo to get the bad news about the failed snooping attempt.
ugh. Mr. Manly Mustache Chauvinist is displeased with his son's willingness to consider sissy careers, and takes him out to play pool instead of homework. Much manly advice is dispensed, and I think this is the scene in the episode for which I looked up "cavernicola," a word which so grabbed my attention ("caveman") that I forgot its entire context. Then, when they come home, Mom asks how it went, and dad flips out about the kid not having a girlfriend - why don't we just buy him a tutu?
Mimi describes the intruder to Juan, and makes a fairly humorous impression of the rather weird Onesimo! Haha, Juan complains and Mimi suggests that he's finally getting his period...
Helena goes to confront her dad about the beatings, and he seems to have a heart attack. But he totally was faking it, and goes back to the grump as soon as she leaves.
Now Plutarco gets a little bit of what he deserves, as we see him uncomfortable in the jacuzzi making excuses to Rebeca for his complete failure to perform - I've always been a matador, he whines!
OOOOOHHH PLUTO HAS A ANTONIA NIGHTMARE!!!! She haunts him and he freaks the heck out. I'd watch that again!
Pluto makes a midnight call to Helena to "wish her goodnight." Seriously, has he no shame? But Eva, in her pajama sleepover garb, shrieks to shut down the midnight chat - "UNO QUIERE DORMIR!"
Subplot alert! Kevin is missing!
Helena's flower is smushed - it must have been some kind of accident. Pluto again aims to be helpful for Helena. Isn't he worried about getting "friend zoned?" Good god, he feels so alone, he would only like to find a woman who is special... Just like you!
***
I apologize for the shoddy recapping tonight... My 12 year old Mentee has just transitioned to Middle School, so for much of tonight's episode I was on the phone talking him through a homework crisis. I aim to bring next week's recap up to a higher standard!

Amorcito Corazón Discussion #109-113 Sept. 17-21
The drunkards, F5 and Fer, are given coffee. I think Blue Lass mentioned this earlier but our guys really need some professional help with regard to their increasing abuse of alcohol. They are fortunate they have not had a serious car accident at this point. Yet, they can’t use being drunk as an excuse for falling in bed with Sabrina; so unfortunate male protagonists, get your acts together before you wake up in someone else’s bed or worse.
Lucia is livid about her kidnaping (surprise, not). Willy sends the boys back home and keeps Lucia as his captive. She attempts to escape by going to the bathroom but gets caught in the window. At this point we have no couples together and watching the evil ones make gains is painful.

Weekend Discussion: Witticisms; Telenovela Greeting Cards-9/15/12
In one of this week's discussions, the Abismo gang noticed a repeated sequence of various characters expressing sympathy to someone because his mother was such a very, very...grave disappointment. It occurred to us that we could make a killing in Telenovelaland by developing a line of appropriate greeting cards for just these sorts of situations...por ejemplo:
Tu mamá es ramera, yo sé
Qué pena contigo mi güey
Pues ni modo, compadre
Lo que hizo tu madre
No fue por tu culpa --
¿o qué?
(Thanks, NovelaMaven!)
What kinds of greeting cards do you think might come in handy for our imaginary friends? Feel free to dig in in either Spanish or English (or Spanglish) with themes, rhymes or designs.
Here are a few more ideas to get you started:
Congratulations!
...on your fake pregnancy
...on your successful embezzlement scheme
...on losing your virginity/fetching up pregnant (combined card)
So sorry
...your rapist got out of jail
Best wishes for a speedy recovery
...from your fall down the stairs
...from your golpeazo
...from your pivotal automobile accident
So have at it -- we know how clever you are!

Por ella soy eva #43 9/14/12- Eva Gets A Promotion, Some of Silvia's Past Comes To Light,,The Putz Gets A Comeuppance
I always get the numbers in Spanish mixed up so please comment on the amount of the shares.
We start tonight with Marcela and Fernando in their office, and Marcela is going over some bills. She wants Ferni to pay the lights, the mortgage and a couple other bills and hands him Kevin's cell phone bill. Lots of calls and numbers. He takes the majority of the bills, not happy about it either and hands the cell phone bill back to Marcela and tells her to handle it, handle it. Marcela looks at the phone bill and doesn't recognize some of the numbers. She calls the number and gets the guy that Kevin was with yesterday, the guy answers, and Marcela hangs up. She looks very concerned.
Pluti and Rebeca walk down the hall, and Rebeca wants to know why he's there already, wasn't he taking time off? He says he is there for the reading of La Gorda's will, (Note to Pluti- Hope the anvil hits you where it hurts the most, jus' sayin'). Anyhoo, they pass by the desk of the Evelettes who are gossiping with other women at G.I., like Tablet Jeffe said, noone works!
Eva is in Helena's office and making some racket with the files, banging them on the table. She isn't singing and yelling at Helena today. She is giving Helena the silent treatment as far as her voice goes, but is banging things around. Eva bangs some files on Helena's desk and the Eiffel Tower too, lol. Helena can't stand the silent treatment and says sorry about throwing you out, but I think Helena says she has to be out by tomorrow, first thing. "Don Pluti" comes in to see Helena. Eva kinda listens over Pluti's shoulder and Cindy one of the Evalettes comes in and says that Eva will have to be at the reading of the will of Antonia. Well, Pluti is having a problem with that. Eva goes and then Pluti too.

- Rod gets home to loud barking from Gala, playing offended. She cancelled her apt. with her doctor. Accuses him of not caring for her child, she will not go to Dr unless he goes with her. And warns her if anything happens to my baby, it will be YOUR Fault. (Rod looks as if asking himself what kind of jerk he was for marrying this B___)

Amor Bravío #26 (Uni 21) Thu 9/13/12 Amor Desengañado
Alonso bitches his mom out for contracting a hit on Padre Baldy. She bitches him out for not having the balls to do it himself. Isadora backs Dionisio's play, saying they needed the fake death certificate. Alonso says things are getting way out of hand…and when he thinks they're getting out of hand, that's pretty damn out of hand. Isadora tells him to shut up already and get 3 million pesos out of his wife to pay for the hit. "Do something right for once! If she won't do it, then get her signature or whatever, but we have to pay him off or he'll turn us in."
Andres and Camila see Padre Baldy's truck and pull over to see what they can do. Camila is shocked and has a flashback to her own accident. Adres can't get Padre Baldy's door open.
Lenocio reports to Isadora and Alonso that Padre Baldy resembles nothing so much as a doornail. Leoncio violated the cardinal rule of murder for hire…ALWAYS double tap. Or at least check for a pulse, moron!
Camila is lost in her flashback. Andres tells her that Padre Baldy's still alive, but they need help. They don't have a cell with them. Andres gets in the cab with the truck and tells her to go get back, but she's stuck on not being able to drive and not being able to walk back fast enough. Andres talks her into driving back. When pleading doesn't work, he resorts to yelling at her to just go already. "Slowly! You can do it!" Camila puts on her big girl panties and gets in the SUV. Andres kicks the door open from the inside as she's driving off. It would have been good if he'd done that before she drove off…maybe driven the Padre into town on his own? But at the speed she's driving he could probably catch up.
Leoncio claims it was an accident. He's not a killer or anything. Alonso says in that case, there's no need to pay him. "Well, I did help him die. And I risked myself for our mommy, so…" Isadora says she'll pay up. Leoncio feels the need to say he had his own reasons for getting rid of the metiche (busybody) Padre. He gets a little too handsy with Isadora and Alonso tells him to cut that out. Leoncio, still under the assumption that he's now one of the cool kids, goes on to say the truck got a little scuffed, but they can always blame it on Andres, right? "Why would he want the priest dead?" asks Alonso. "I don't know. I mean, I don't know your reasons either, but you have them. I just don't like the guy. We'll just make something up and get rid of him. It's not like you care." Isadora tells him to get lost already and keep his mouth shut. Isadora grabs Alonso's hand to stop him from biting his nails.
Andres has gotten Padre Baldy out of the truck and reaches back in for the envelope with the letter, stuffing it in the back of his pants and examining the truck. He notes the paint marks are the same colors as Alonso's truck. Padre Baldy starts moaning. Andres tells him to hang in there and asks if it was Alonso.
Padre Baldy loses consciousness as Andres keeps begging him to hang in there.
Luzma stuffs some papers in an envelope and rushes out of the cabin.
She sees Camila drive up in the SUV. Camila tells her to call for an ambulance and tells her where they can find the padre while she goes to get her case.
Luzma, sobbing, runs into the kitchen, grabs the phone, and calls the Red Cross. Leoncio is in shock. Luzma was supposed to tell Agustina, but she's not there. Lenocio suggests she tell Isadora.
Dionisio is busy macking on Agustina. He ignores his cell phone, but she encourages him to answer it. It's Isadora, calling him to tell him they need to talk, so he'd better hurry up his romancing. She says they need to stop the death certificate from showing up. Dinoisio makes his excuses to Agustina and calls for the check.
Camila made it back with her bag. She and Andres start working on the Padre. She jabs him with an ENORMOUS needle as she tells Andres she told Luzma to call an ambulance. Andres reminds her that if Padre Baldy lives it's because she got over her fear of driving. Camila tries to brush it off, but then says Andres made her do it, so maybe God and the two of them will have to share the credit.
Piedad comes looking for Isadora to tell her about Padre Baldy. "Ummm..dying or dead?" Cara de impactada de Isadora when she hears it's "dying."
Amanda and Natalia are serving dinner to their guests. They've noticed Padre Baldy hasn't shown up. Natalia takes a call from Luz Maria with the news about the Padre.
Padre makes it to the hospital, where Camila and Andres aren't allowed in.
Isadora passes the news on the Padre on to Agustina and Dionisio. Agustina wants to go see how he's doing, so Dionisio offers to take them. The moms encourage Alonso to stay home since his heart isn't doing well. While Agustina goes to get her bag, Dionisio demands an explanation. More nail biting from Alonso.
Leoncio gets his drink on while recalling the afternoon's joyride. Looks like the drinking ain't working anymore. Piedad comes out to ask him to come to dinner. She sends Luzma into the kitchen. She thinks that Leoncio is worried about the Padre dying, but I don't think she realizes he's more worried about him living.
Padre Baldy is getting his head stitched up by some less-than-competent actors who haven't watched enough Grey's Anatomy to make it look like an actual surgery.
Andres brings Camila some coffee in the waiting room. She's grateful to him for what he did for the Padre. Amanda and Natalia come running in looking for an update on the Padre, but right now, none of them know much of anything.
Alonso comes looking for Leoncio, but Piedad claims she can't find him. Alonso goes running out the back door. Piedad is afraid Alonso will find him drunk and fire them both.
Amanda needs a minute alone, so she goes to get some tea. Agustina, Dionisio, and Isadora come in. Dionisio supposes something ran in front of him and he lost control of the truck. Camila wonders why Padre Baldy was at the ranch in the first place. Isadora claims she talked to the Padre, but he didn't say why he was there besides looking for Camila. Andres looks suspicious.
Alonso finds drunk Leoncio in his room. Leoncio blames Isadora for asking him to do it in the first place, Alonso blames Leoncio for not doing it properly. Leoncio says he won't go down for this on his own. "You can't fire me because you still owe me money. If you want me to keep my mouth shut, don't threaten me."
Andres goes to make a phone call, but Natalia finds him in the hallway to tell him that Isadora lied. Padre Baldy was there to see Andres. When Natalia told him that only Alonso and his mother were home, Padre Baldy got upset and went into the house to talk to them. "Why would she lie?" Natalia doesn't know, but she smells a rat. She begs him not to say anything to anyone. Andres calls Rafael and tells him he thinks Alonso and/or his mother tried to kill Padre Baldy. Rafael is worried that they don't know what the Padre said to upset them. Andres arranges to meet Rafael at this house tomorrow.
Dionisio takes his leave because he has a "business meeting" early the next morning. The doctor comes in and says Padre Baldy is in critical condition. They're trying to control some internal bleeding. He's in Intensive Care and sedated, so he advises them to go home. Agustina wants to leave the number of the ranch so they can call if there's any change.
Luzma heads for the woods to snog Pablo. She tells him about Padre Baldy. Between that and Leoncio's drunkenness, she thought it would be safe for them to meet. Pablo's all set to tie the knot.
Alonso meets everyone coming in. Agustina is on her way to bed. Isadora tries to talk Agustina and Camila out of going to the hospital in the morning, but Agustina blows her off and tells Andres to have the car ready early. Alonso slips up and says it must have been awful to see Padre Baldy's car there crashed into a tree. Isadora catches the slip and her eyes widen, but Camila just agrees it was awful. Agustina asks Camila for a moment alone and dismisses Andres. This leaves Alonso and Isadora in the foyer alone. Isadora barely waits for them to be alone before she starts yelling at him for being an idiot. She noticed the look on Andres' face, so she knows he realized that Alonso must have had something to do with the accident. She supposes they can't fire him now and they'll have to bribe him to keep his mouth shut.
Andres goes out to Alonso's SUV and examines the damage. He notes the scratches on the passenger side, then sees something on the floor outside the driver's door.
Alonso and Isadora continue the argument. He plans to just claim that Isadora told him the details. Isadora actually says her hands are clean and it's all going to point to Alonso. "I'm so disappointed in you. As hard as I tried to educate you, you wouldn't learn. You always have to be one step ahead! But you're such a weakling…and now we're paying the price!" Isadora continues berating her stupid imbecile of a son, who goes back to biting his nails.
Agustina tells Camila that they need to take an image of the Sacred Heart to the Padre since it helped Camila get better when she first arrived. Camila tells Agustina about Andres getting her to drive the SUV. Agustina thinks Andres is an angel. Camila says she actually does feel a little better.
Andres goes to his room and opens the envelope. He finds the surveillance photo, again, then the other envelope. Open it, open it! He opens it! "Daniel, you don't know me. Maybe you've never heard of me. I don't really know. I hope this revelation doesn't affect the image you have of your mother, may she rest in peace, but I can't keep it quiet. I knew Agatha over 30 years ago. I loved her more than my life, and now isn't the moment to try to justify anything, but our encounter happened at the wrong time. We were both married, but in spite of that, our love was clean and sincere. I regret I didn't have the courage to confront the whole world to love her freely, the way she deserved. With her recent death, I learned of your existence and the possibility that you could be my son won't leave me in peace. I tried to find out, so I had you investigated. I'd like to do a DNA test to confirm it, but that will only happen if you agree and when we're face to face, if life allows that to happen. But since I can't wait for that to happen, in order to protect my beloved niece, Camila, I've made the decision to change my will and leave you as my sole heir, in case I die before you and I are together."
In split scene, Andres contemplates the letter and Camila contemplates Andres.
"Now I need your help, and I want to ask you for a huge favor, now that I have anyone else to rely on. I know this might take you by surprise and change your life, but I just find out my niece is in danger because she's fallen into the hands of leeches--her husband Alonso and one Dionisio Ferrer. They've gotten close to her with bad intentions, to divest her of La Malquerida and all the goods they think she will inherit the day I die. Camila is my adoration, the daughter I never had. She's a woman of values and good feelings. I feel responsible for throwing her into Alonso's arms and since at this moment I can't think of another way to protect her, I've decided to leave you all my goods, supposing you are my son. If you're not, in exchange for you help, you'll be able to live comfortably with what I'm leaving you for the simple fact of being Agatha's son and for the love I had for her. I know you're a good man and you'll help me get justice in case I can't do it. When you're both safe, share my inheritance with her. At this moment the two of you are my two greatest treasures. I hope you can understand my desperation and receive in advance my appreciation and my eternal gratitude. Daniel Monterde."
Next morning, Rodolfo tells Camila that they've all heard about the Padre and are going to pray extra hard for him. He figures she's probably not in the mood, but today is the "tienda de macho" (store of the macho? A bull auction perhaps?) and he's got everything all ready. Camila tells him to handle it and he assures her he can. He asks her to send his best to the Padre.
Camila thanks Andres again for what he did yesterday. Agustina is ready to go and is crowing that soon she'll have Andres all to herself since he's gotten Camila to drive again.
Isadora and Dionisio bitch about how wrong it's all gone. Isadora says she's got 24 hours while Padre is in Intensive Care to take further action. Dionisio is pissed that Isadora trusted Leoncio to take care of something so delicate. He realizes this isn't the first time she's contracted a hit on someone…or is it?
Tomorrow: Isadora plans to take matters into her own hands; Daniel admits they've all been Alonso's victims; Vivi asks the immortal question, "So what do we do now?" I guess we'll have to tune in tomorrow to find out.
