Blackmail
Alexa tells Alan he’s crazy if he thinks she’d leave
everything she has to run off with him.
Alan can’t believe she’d prefer such a boring, married life instead of
an exciting and adventurous one at his side.
Alexa can’t believe his ego! She
insults him, calling him a dreadful (pésimo)
director and a patán (cad, uncouth). He tells her that if she were to see “Amores Estremos” (apparently the name of the
film) she’d feel differently. It’s
turned out so well, that it is now in the hands of an important director, Cesar
Baldomer. He’s a worldwide porn film
distributor. He shows her the film on
his iPad. She tries unsuccessfully to
grab the tablet. He insists it’s a work
of art. He’d love to the face of her bf and
her adorable son when they receive a copy of her pornographic film! She pleads with not to do this to her. He says she’d no longer be the fairytale
princess. Instead she’d be the fogosa (passionate) princess. He thinks her boyfriend would go ballistic if
he were to see this film.
Later, he shows her photos and tells her to rip them up if
she wants, he has thousands of copies waiting to be released. “After all the pain you’ve caused me,” cries
Alexa, “you still want to bother me. You
are a cancer in my life. It’s too bad
you didn’t die!” He sarcastically says
he loves her too, but even more after he’s seen how pretty she is in the
film. Alexa charges that the images on
the film are bogus. He must have hired
body doubles. She never appeared
nude! “Ah the magic of editing,” he glibly
replies. The girl he hired was identical
to Alexa. No one will doubt it is
Alexa. Not even her mother! She begs him to destroy the film. He’s sorry, but he can’t. He’s waited a long time for this moment. He heard about the important film she was
making. It’s fantastic she’s become so
famous and is featured in magazines. He’s
so happy for her, and himself. She begs
and begs that he not release that film.
Here comes the offer: No one will
see that film if she agrees to come with him and star in his next film. He’s got it all set up to shoot in French Guiana. She refuses to go with him anywhere. “Fine,” he says. “Just be warned I will release this film to
the media and make sure it’s spread throughout the Internet. Your promising career and your relationship
with your Yeti Mexicano will sink faster than El Titanic!”
Meanwhile, we see Nandito showing off a photo of Alexa in a
magazine to his schoochums.
Back at the restaurant, Alexa gives in. Alan has set up a press conference to announce
she’ll star in his next film in French Guiana.
He’ll also announce he is now her director and representative. He tells her to wear something despaparante (flashy?). He walks away as Alexa weeps.

Poets,
dramatists, composers, and artists have all made careers of
glorifying Love. We glue ourselves to our screens night after night
watching novela characters trying to make sense of this emotion that
other characters either know less about than they do or....
intentionally attempt to deceive them about. However while writers,
composers, singers, and actors do their best to promote Love – in
all its forms – as the grandest thing in life nobody ever
seriously addresses the big fundamental question: Do humans need
love to live and be happy?
Que Te Perdone Dios #78 – In Which Diego is Engaged to His Half Sister, Punched by His Brother-in-law and Disdained by His Brother or Nephew
Refried: Patricio avoids mentioning that he knows something
went on between Mat and Abi in Mexico, and Renata says how much she likes
Xi-ela (in Daniela configuration) and Pat rants against Xi-ela (in Ximena configuration).
Also, Mat and Diana discutir, he says don’t meter mi mamá, and she says mamá and
Padre Tomás are on her side. He’s the one who started this war.
New: All members of Xi-ela are in their apartment, and
Ximena complains that she gets bored on her week off from Porfirio. What, did she stop
going to spas and such? Is that really how she sees this unique opportunity, as
simply a week off from Porfis? Well, of all the places in the big, wide world
she could go, she wants to go to Real de San Andrés. She wants to check out
this place that Daniela likes, she’s interested in meeting Renata, and she
wants to “help” Dani with the Pat situation.

La Sombra del Pasado #58 5/7/15 Descent into Stupid
I hope I can be forgiven. I was already dozing off before the episode even started, so I'm just going to give you guys a quick, out-of-order rundown of the action and hit the sack. We can all fill in details in the comments. Honestly, I kind of wanted to RPC the whole damn thing.
I felt ambivalent
Silvia came to see Cris and told him exactly where Aldonza was and where she was sleeping. Which Cris took to mean "sleeping with Renato"...not "she was tired and needed some rest so she took Renato's room while he slept in the guest room." She practically begs Cris to go to the DF and cause a scene so Aldonza will get out of Renato's life. Cris figures out that Silvia loves Renato.
Dominga and Irma discuss their idiot children. Lola is still wanting Emanuel, but she's with that Pato/Ganso/Whatever guy. Mari wants E-man too, but can't seem to see he wants Lola.
Joaquin and Eman have hangovers. They barely remember the night before. They decide Eman can stay with Joaquin. Good. Housing taken care of.
The police go to Las Animas looking for Abelardo. Cande tells them to come back in a few days when her husband is back. She alerts Sev to their visit.
Lardo gets permission from Tomas's parents to stay with them. He catches Pru and Tomas snogging.
I probably shouldn't be ambivalent about this, but Aldonza tells Renata about the wedding plans that didn't pan out because she caught Cris kissing his ex.
Eman does go visit Hum at the office. Hum at least knows he's safe.

La Sombra del Pasado #57 - Wed 5/6 - Nobody's sleeping tonight
As Sev begins to sneak out of his hiding place, gun at the ready, the unhelpful witness and the building super (one guesses) show up. They're helpfully talking loud enough to warn off whoever it is they think they heard up there, which makes the super's baseball bat all the more ridiculous. Sev slinks back under his rock as Aldonza, Renato, and the two new arrivals make their way out of the apartment.

sleep. He sure hopes she’s in better
spirits today. As for him, he and
Armando are planning to meet with Tavarez.
The surveillance videos are being reviewed and he’s hopeful Lupe’s
murderers are caught soon.
Peralta’s Office – Dulliver’s
confused
Geronimo explains he’s designating office space specifically
for Proyecto Magnus. The first phase of
construction has begun and before long, the first tower will be completed. Oliver is confused as to why he needs an
entire company set up for the project.
Gerry tells him he’s hired Patricio, to be in charge of the new
company. Dulliver doesn’t understand why
he wasn’t put in charge of that company.
Gerry explains he wants Dulliver to work with him in the export/import
business, his most important business venture.
As his successor and only heir, Dulliver needs to understand the
business perfectly.

Long story short: Aldie bought into Cande/Val’s tired plot and went back to DF. Emmanuel called Val out and is moving out. Pru slapped Lardo in front of Irma, who asked Mari about it. Mari threw a mini fit because everything’s always about Lardo. Sim called Las Animas for Sev, but Cris picked up and might be suspicious. At the end, Sev is literally lurking in the shadows of the burnt apartment, listening to Ren and Aldonza discuss the situation.
Long version: My recording oddly skipped the refrito and a little of the new, so I come in thinking I’m going to see Aldie rolling her eyes at Val’s ridiculous ploy BUT NO!!! Instead there’s Val leaning on Cris’s shoulder, promising she never meant to get him into this mess. Forgive me, she sighs dramatically. She’s exiting stage right when Cris yanks her back, wondering where the heck she’s going, having apparently imploded his life.

Nandito is super happy to see they’re back together again. The following morning, Alexa and Armando drop
him off at school. (I’m confused, cuz she’s wearing the same dress from the night before.

Padre Jeronimo gets a visit from Satan and his wife La Sombra Del Pasado#55 May4th, 2015

Aldonza and Cris come to the conclusion that Candela did not tell them the whole truth but they swear that the news regrading their parents ugly past won't keep them apart and then they kiss.
Cris leaves and Aldonza picks on her aunt for keeping things from her, she wants to know if her dad ever figured out that his wife was sleeping with Sev, Adelina says Ray did find out but that he did nothing once he learned the truth cause he kinda died. Aldonza tells her that if she finds out that she lied and kept things from her she will never forgive her. That is so not cool. Why does Adelina have to suffer through this? She did nothing wrong!
The next morning Candela is off to torment, visit Padre J and bumps into Cris on the way out, he tells her that Padre J will be going home so her trip will be wasted, then he tells her that he and Aldi don't believe she told him everything that there is to know about Sev/Rob affair, Candela says there's nothing more to the story and Cris reminds her that sometimes people keep secrets when it benefits them. Cande looks pissed.

I had extremely bad TV reception Monday night. I couldn't get any more than a second or two of good reception and finally lost the signal altogether. I had to watch this on Hulu without English captions so I'm sure I missed some of the dialogue. Please fill in what I missed in the comments.

I notice Isadora is one of the guests, so apparently not all the Peraltas hate the Ripolls. The priest pronounces the couple husband and wife and we get a close up of DZ's sloppy kissing. Mercifully, he doesn't jam his tongue down her throat. Chava tells Sofia that they'll be together till the end of the world. Hasta el Fin del Mundo #181 20150501 Lupe Ain't Cold in Her Grave, Chava's Hitched and Paco is Now a Big Stud!
- Armando assumes that Lupe went to heaven and tells Nandito not to expect a dinner invitation for a home cooked meal over at Chava's anymore.
- Alexa is bitchin' about Armando to Paolo when she gets a call from Dani. Dani informs her sister that Lupe was murdered. Alexa's all shocked, but says that she can't attend the funeral because she has a movie to make. She sends Chava her condolences and says that she'll call him when she is less busy.
- It's standing room only at the funeral and Lupe's body's not warm, but Greta is already making the moves on Don Paco before any of the other hussies from the hood can get to him. Greta takes her place beside him on the itty bitty pews. Marisol, Chava and Sophia sit across the aisle from them. Marisol hopefully eyes the door, but Patrick never appears. He's in bed with Silvana.

New Telenovela: Lo imperdonable starts May 18, 2015
After complaints that some of our plot summaries were full of spoilers, here is a brief one for the upcoming Lo imperdonable. If you want to recap, write me at caray@mappamundi.com - blog mom.Martín (Iván Sánchez) hurries to Mina Escondida after getting an urgent letter from his brother begging to be rescued from the hell in which he's living. On arrival, Martin despairs upon finding out that Demetrio (Pablo Montero), his brother, has committed suicide. His sorrow is transformed into hatred and a thirst for vengeance against the woman who caused his brother suffering and brought him to death.
Full of resentment, Martín swears before the tomb of his brother that he will get revenge against this ruthless woman, he will cause her to fall in love and he will drag her to the green hell of this jungle in which he will despise her as she despised his brother.
The first clue to the culprit's identity is a medallion his brother always kept with him, engraved with the name "V. Prado Castelo." Martin returns to the capital, knowing that Prado Castelo is the biggest jewelry business in the country. He aims to grow close to the family. He makes the acquaintance of Emiliano (Sergio Sendel), only heir to the fortune, newly arrived in México after years of absence.
Martín meets Verónica (Ana Brenda) and Virginia (Grettell Valdez), Emiliano's cousins who were adopted by the elder Prado Castelo. Martín is struck by Veronica's beauty and her force of character. He is not, however, her only admirer: Emiliano has returned with the intention of marrying her, having loved her since childhood - not realizing the one who is obsessed with him is Virginia.
Little by little Martin falls in love with Verónica but believes the lies Virginia tells about her, including that she had caused Demetrio to fall in love and had then abandoned him….
