Un Camino Hacia el Destino-Week 14 (May 23, 2016) Second Half

EPISODE #66 (Thu May 26)
A representative of Child Welfare Services, a uniformed officer and a notebook lady have shown up in the middle of Clarita and Cesar’s reception. The rep addresses Marissa and wants to speak to Carlos. She says he’s not at home, but she can speak for him. She leads them in the house. The rep states Carlos has been keeping an unaccompanied minor in the home. Marissa is cooperative. Yes, Carlos brought home a homeless youngster, but is planning to adopt him.

The rep says that is the problem. There are no papers on file so they have to take the boy to a childrens shelter. Marissa doesn’t think that should be necessary. He’s well taken care of in their home, but they will have the family lawyer file the right papers in the morning. Rep lady says that doesn’t conform to the law. They have to take him now.

Carlos and Fer are still standing together away from the crowd at the reception. He tells her she hasn’t said whether they are novios again or not. She laughs and tells him for good or bad, yes. Carlos questions the “bad” part. Fer says it’s just a saying, like for good or bad, she loves him, for good or bad she can’t be without him, for good or bad she accepts being his novia again. They are both glowing, radiant in the heat of love. Carlos leans over for a kiss. [Ahem—I thought I saw a little tongue action there!] He’s the happiest man in the world.

Amor De Barrio Discussion: "Golpes Que Da La Vida"

Hello Everyone!

I recently started watching Amor de Barrio and spent all this past week catching up on past episodes to be able to watch it live, hopefully with all of you.

I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw because, while this is a "traditional" novela rosa (with plenty of cliches) they are either handled in a fresh way or are revealed so quickly it never weighs down the story. I also love that both female protagonists, Paloma and Laura, are career women who go out into the world and the galanes are to brain dead insecure men who believe hearsay.

It is also the first novela in 9 years for Roberto Hernandez Vazquez, who last produced Heridas de Amor.

This is my first summary/blog so bear with me, please. This is a summary of the first 35 episodes so here goes nothing!
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Paloma Madrigal is a muchacha de barrio that recently finished her specialty in criminal law and needs to win her first case in order to get a job at a respectable law office. The case she chooses is that of Blanca Estela Bernal whom was unjustly imprisoned by Catalina Lopezreina for killing Catalina’s husband, Saul.

Catalina blamed Blanca Estela for Saul’s murder because Blanca Estela refused to tell Catalina where Saul’s lover, Dalia and her son, Rodrigo, were hiding. Blanca Estela, pregnant with Paloma, told her husband, Gustavo, everything was true when she was condemned to life in prison. She gave Paloma to Gustavo as soon as she was born WITHOUT knowing her if she gave birth to a boy or girl. Gustavo then told their children that their mom died during Paloma’s birth.

Sueño de Amor (SdA) #55. Tuesday May 24, 2016. Esperanza Makes Lying a Family Affair, Erasmo Tells the Truth

This recap was brought to you by our recapper and Patio regular, Kinomathematika! Enjoy!

Ricardo is still trying to reach Esperanza. Pedro doesn’t answer him, either. He doesn’t know what to tell the priest. Margarita goes to him asking if the bride had second thoughts.

Esperanza is at home and says that she loves Ricardo too much to obligate him to marry someone who will die in months. She’s going to wither and wear away. I don’t want the love of my life to be witness to my deterioration. She asked Pato and Pedro forgiveness. They told her she had nothing to ask forgiveness for. She thinks she has to sacrifice herself for Ricardo. Pato tells her that Ricardo needs her, but Esperanza says that Ricardo doesn’t need someone who’s dying (moribunda). She says she’s doing it for him to be with his children and for him to be happy. Destiny wants them to be apart. She asks them to help her hide the truth.

Pedro tells her that even though they aren’t in agreement with her plan, they will help if it calms her. She tells him to call Ricardo to tell him to come over, that she needs to talk to him alone.

Tres Veces Ana - Episodes 3 & 4

Hello everyone! While Sneaky two shoes gets a recap ready for us, here is a discussion page on episodes 3 and 4, in which we get a first kiss (!!) and find out that Soledad is darker than we thought and is somehow involved with the whole Santiago/Marcelo story line.

We also find out that Ana Lucia is not your typical TN protagonist and will not be confused by random blabbering. When Soledad spins a made up sad story of a neighbor named Sofia, after calling Ana Lucia the name of her dead daughter, Ana Lucia says it's sad, but she doesn't know how this is related to anything!

Tres Veces Ana, 5/23/16: Premier, Episodes 1&2

Hello Patio Peeps! While the recapping team for Tres Veces Ana (Sneaky2Shoes, Ria, and Jardinera) gets themselves together and figure out their recapping schedule (team members are still needed), I'm posting this discussion page for the first episodes. These two episodes, we pretty much got everything that was in this synopsis

The Short Version:
In addition to what's already in the synopsis, we learned that: Uncle Mariano is a womanizer; Ana Lucia is in a love triangle with her two besties and doesn't know it; Ana Lucia was taught to read palms by the local nice bruja (Chana), and she's REALLY good at it; Ana Leticia was the one who caused the accident with her parents and sisters; all three sisters suffer from nightmares; it's been three years since Marcelo "died" and was reborn Santiago; Remedios' husband was with Santiago when he had his accident and he died, but not before warning Remedios that Marcelo/Santiago is in great danger and she needed to care for him; and Ramiro almost married a con woman a few years ago, found out the truth, realized his love for Ana Laura, dumped his lying fiance at the altar, and she then committed suicide (bummer).

The Long Version (debut recap by Ria):

Carlos tells Marcos maybe the doctors and staff don’t need him, but the patients do. Marcos is sure everything will work out. New Telenovela: Tres Veces Ana, Starts Monday, May 23rd

Recappers are needed for this telenovela which starts Monday, May 23rd in the 9 pm time slot. A few of you have now expressed interest in recapping-- let Blog Mom Jane/Melinama know and email her ASAP: caray@mappamundi.com

**News flash: as of 5/21, Uni has once again changed its mind about the fate of Yago, and it is supposedly no longer moving to the graveyard shift on UniMas. I have no idea what will happen to A Que No Me Dejas. During its first week, Tres Veces Ana will be shown in 2 hour blocks, 9pm-11pm. After that, it will be on at 9pm and Yago on at 10pm. This schedule is changing almost daily, so stay alert.

The story of "Tres Veces Ana" starts with a family road trip—the Álvarez del Castillo Rivadeneira family. Triplets Ana Laura, Ana Leticia and Ana Lucía, along with their parents, suffer a dramatic car accident, crashing by the side of a river. The event leaves both parents dead, Ana Laura losing one leg, and Ana Lucía dragged by the river’s current. Only Ana Leticia emerges unscathed. Soledad, a woman who is mourning her own daughter’s death, finds and helps Ana Lucía. Although Soledad discovers who the girl is, she takes advantage of Ana Lucía’s memory loss about the accident and her family and decides to keep her, making her believe she is her mother.

Sueno de Amor #53 Friday Sometimes it takes a village...

.... or a great team of commenters to write a recap.

After having tried yesterday afternoon and almost all day today (it's 6 pm my time), I finally give up. I cannot find a usable link to watch the episode, so I have no clue what happened. Therefor I'm not capable of writing a worthy recap, or any recap for that matter.
I'm annoyed and very sorry to let you all down, but the one link that I could open starts buffering after 17 seconds, so...
The Univision site says that Esperanza is afraid that the cancer is going to kill her... This is all I've got!

Later edit
A big thank you to Diana, Pablo and Jarifa for stepping in and writing down what you remember from watching. I'm adding your comments to the main post, this way whoever checks this down the line will have a recap (I tried to do a little bit of editing, for continuity).

El Hotel de los Secretos #80, 5/20/16: GRAN FINAL - The Gran Manicomio Closes Its Doors!

Goodbye nuthouse! We shall miss you!
At a glance

-- It's the big finale! Don't just glance! Take one last full plunge into the exciting world of El Hotel De Los Secretos!

A closer look

The previous episode ended with all of us screaming: What the hap is f*ckening here? Who in poo-perfect hell is this Dr. Vicario and Mr. Hyde character? Well, those of you who guessed he is Clara’s father are right! Go ahead and give yourself a pat on the back! The guy is in fact Simón Canabal, Diego/Juan Camilo’s father-in-law. He had been pursuing the mustached vulture for 6 years to make him pay for the murder of his daughter. Clara was the most sacred and cherished thing in her father’s life and, after her brutal slaughter, nothing mattered to him anymore, nothing had value, not even Isabel’s life.

El Hotel de los Secretos #79, 5/19/16: WTF Did We All Just Watch?

Part One

Oh my god. Guys, you guys, what did we just watch? What's going on? Someone tell meeeeeeeeeeee,

Okay, so I just finished the episode, the Univision App is crap, it lags, it shuts down on you as you're watching- and then you have to start watching from the start and hope the freaking thing will work, anyhoo, after two hours I finally made it through.

The episode was super slow until the last seven minutes, so let's recap the slow bits and then move on to the action, okay? So we start off with Belen going *splat*, once she realized that Andres knew about her involvement in the plan to get him killed, and finding herself surrounded she jumped to her death rather than face jail time, I think knowing that Olegario would place all the blame on her was the final push she needed to jump. Poor Andres, he is devastated, don't ask me why, but he is. Dummy. Andres blames Ayala and Co for Belen's death and I'm over here thinking "hu"?

Back at the Hotel, Alfredo is having some quality time with the little Al, he tells the baby that they need each other and I just want this dude to get up, run from the hotel and take the super adorable baby away. Alfredo is a good guy, proof of this is that when he learned about Belen's death he took the baby to Andres and told him he needed the baby more, oooh look, a therapy baby!

Meanwhile Teresa gets a summons from her friend, the judge, she is being accused of murdering her husband! Teresa wrongly assumes that Isabel was the one who ratted her but it was in fact Julio who did the deed in order to spare Isabel. This causes a major rift between the two. The lesson learned here is: Don't accuse your future mother in law of murder. It won't go over well. In this case it ended up making Teresa curse the day Isabel was born. Totally harsh.

Ayala confronts Olegario and tells him he's on to him and later Olegario makes the mistake of talking smack about Belen and gets a well deserved punch in the face.

Elsewhere in town, Juana and Diego are getting ready to leave Mexico, at least Juana thinks they are, Diego has other plans.

Teresa ran to Doctor V. for comfort after being served with the summons and he comforts her and later agrees to be her date to the party the hotel is throwing, and then he stands her up. More on that later.

Part two:

The party from hell

Ok so here's where the fun starts. Teresa gets ready for the party and finds that Doctor V. has stood her up, but she's a strong independent lady and goes to the party on her own. She gives a speech to her guests thanking them for their friendship and loyalty. While she does this other things are taking place in the hotel.

First we have Julio saying his goodbyes to Cecilia. He gives her a hug goodbye and Isabel walks in on them, misunderstands what's going on and stalks off. Julio leaves to go after her and Diego follows after them. Ooooh the drama!

While Julio and Isabel argue, Doctor V. leads Diego to them up in the secret room. Diego finds Julio and demands to know where Isabel is. Isabel hides. They start to fight and the fists fly and I LOVE IT. Yes, I'm blood thirsty and what? Diego deserved the beat down. Isabel comes from her hiding place and smashes a vase over  his head but fails to knock him out. Diego gets the gun and points it at Julio. Doctor V. appears and shoots Julio in the shoulder and tells Diego to take Isabel away! Ahhhhhhh, my brain!

The gunshot interrupts Ayala who was declaring his love to Matilde. Everyone rushes to see what is going on and they find Diego holding a gun to Isabel's head. Doctor V. pulls his gun on the group and prevents them from helping Isabel. Again, he tells Diego to take Isabel away, and Diego does. Diego drags Isabel out of the hotel by the hair while she begs him to let her go. He refuses to. Then she asks him to shoot her because she'd rather die than have him touch her again, then a shot rings out. Doctor V seems to believe this means Diego has killed Isabel and he put his gun down, again, WTF.

Back to the stairs at the entrance of the hotel. Diego continues to abuse Isabel, when we see Julio. He calls out to Diego "Montejo, die!" and shoots Diego!

OMG.

Yago #13. Thursday May 19, 2016. Land Of Cuckoos

[Some scenes were merged]

  • Flashbacks of Abel’s earlier life. Abel accidentally killed a young fellow which made his father to take Abel’s punishment. His family rejected Abel which forced him to take the journey to Mexico on request of his father. In Mexico he beat the crap out of bullies chomping one’s ear off with pliers. He was also encountered by the child’s mother which finally recognized Abel as the killer. She cursed Abel’s whole existence, saying that he will end up worse as her fallen child. In the present Abel was at the point of killing himself but Teo stopped it. Abel is curious on who put the video on. Abel also pointed out that Bruno is slowly becoming the bane of his existence. If Bruno won’t stop digging , Abel will be forced to kill him.

Sueño de amor, Ep #52 (5.19.2016) Keeping up with the dreams that love for Lala products command!

I have a dream!

Viviana's dream

At the cereal clinic, mother and son promise each other they will fight this together. Her dream of love is that the three of them (I am guessing they're including Luca) will never get apart.
Looks like Adrián borrowed Salma's t-shirt, maybe because she doesn't need it anymore.

Salma's dream
Speaking of the devil, Salma shares with Kristel her dream of love and that doesn't include the shrimp-like fetus on the screen of her tablet (Look! it has eyes!). They watch a sonogram and the younger sister complaints about the situation she created herself. On the dark side, she is one of half a million teenagers that are pregnant in México right now, but if you look it at the bright side, she can take her kid to her quinceañera as one of the chambelanes!

Mario's dream
His dream is that his unrequited love for Viviana blossom in a full gilf relationship.
He is so confundido and more when he tries to tell his daughters and Salma's hormones make her feel unwanted. He assures her that he loves both equally and then she is happy to be included and now the club has four and a quarter members. Granny, pops, the girls and the fetus. Imagine if Viviana ties the gordian knot with Mario and becomes both Salma's stepmother and mother in law! Wow, and including PatoLuca in this mix this will make a very twisted family tree!!

Un Camino Hacia el Destino-Week 13 (May 16, 2016) Second Half

Fernanda Meets the Family from Hell, and it’s Hers

(This lengthy scene is from Episode #60 from Wed, May 18)

Fer has arrived at the hacienda to take care of Don Fernando. She steps into the living room to find Carlos waiting for her, wanting to know how Pedro is. They exchange a few words and it seems as though a reconciliation is near. There are sweet kisses, a “te amo” from Carlos and another kiss.

Into this tranquil domestic scene, roars Hernán hell bent for leather without a horse, on a mission to fire Fer for his self-humiliated daughter’s sake. He yells and bullies Fer and makes a grab for her. Carlos comes to her defense. The two men tussle and Hermy ends up pushing Carlos backwards onto the couch.

At this moment Amelia rolls herself in to witness this dispute. Fer sees her mother and her mother sees Fer. Amelia speaks first, calling her Luisa Fernanda, hija. Blanca hears her and heads for the living room. Mariana arrives and stands in the background. Shock, anguish and incomprehension are all etched on Fer’s face. Amelia approaches her, tears starting to fall. Her daughter is alive. She reaches out her hand to Fer, assuming Fer will reciprocate. Fer backs away from her.
