Abismo de pasión #132 9/18/12: Todos Nuestros Amigos en L'Ermita Tienen Mala Suerte
Doc Tovar's Office
"...Luck is not to be coerced..." -- Albert Camus
After her terrible attack, a shaken and injured Carmina comes to Dr. Tovar's office. She tells her truthful tale, but here Carmina pushes her luck--Edmundo imagines that she is just lying, once again.
Now Carmina tries her usual seductive tricks and makes a huge play for Edmundo. She moves in on him and says that when he kisses her lips he won't be able to forget her...Edmundo wrestles himself away from Agent Orange and refuses her advances. But, with impeccably perfect antagonista timing, Carmina grabs Edmundo and practically forces him into what might be taken for a passionate embrace. At this moment, Begoña comes in and sees the struggling couple. Edmundo breaks away telling Carmina, "Between you and I (there) is absolutely nothing."
Begoña's face registers surprise but the real shock comes when Carmina, who is still toxic even though she has just been victimized, sprays her poison into the room--she tells Edmundo not to deny that they were lovers, four times, months ago. Way to be specific, Carmina.
Edmundo sees his recent détente with Begoña collapse. A horrified Begone tells Carmina, "I can't believe how wrong I was about you. How stupid I was." Wow, she is just now noticing! Begoña stalks out. Edmundo chases her, but Begoña is done with Edmundo (for the moment). Edmundo manhandles Carmina and throws her out of his office.

Gabino comes in to see the neurologist dude. Gabino is a bad man, good at inflicting pain on others, but his own threshold for pain is very low. He has a BAD headache and he demands that something be done to rid him of the pain. Gabino menaces the doc with some serious attitude and the doc tells him to calm down. In order to help him they need to do some tomographic studies of his cabeza but he must be calm. We see Gabino, once again donned in his fetching hospital gown with sensors on his head as the doc does the CAT scans. I 'll give you two options for WHY Gabino has such a headache. Could it be...the bullet in his brain or the festering guacamole still in the bullet hole? Stay tuned...

Abismo de pasión #131 9/17/12- Abysmal Passion

Repeat: Playa del Ejido de San Crisanto -Dam and Elisa are walking down the beach hand in hand. Elisa is still pretending to be mad about her kidnapping. Dam says they need to look for a place to stay the night, and lo and behold, there is cabana for rent. As Dam settles up with the owner, Elisa decides to take a jog down the beach, hoping that Dam will chase after her. He doesnʼt disappoint. Once he catches her, she pretends to be mad saying that she hates him. They go back and forth about how much he loves her, how much she hates him. Finally to put an end to this abysmal passion, she pulls Damʼs gun out (no, thatʼs not a metaphor) and aims it at him. Everyone watching is still sitting back in their seats relaxed, because everyone, including Dam, knows that she will never shoot him, even though heʼs telling her to. She then says to him “Donʼt stop me”. (Elisa dear, heʼs not trying to, in fact heʼs telling you to put him out of his misery). Then she aims the gun to the sky and tries to fire it, but Damʼs gun has no bullets in it. (no, thatʼs not a metaphor either) Elisa is surprised that itʼs empty and yells at him for lying to her. He replies that sheʼs crazy, everyone watching this show knows you werenʼt ever going to shoot me. Itʼs the least she could do for abandoning his wife and child. Do you love Gael? Yes, she says, with all my heart. (We can see she has her fingers crossed behind her back) He carries her to the cabana.
Nuevo- Carmina is wallowing in her aloneness having a solitary dinner. She lit some a lot of candles and pours herself some a lot of wine. It starts to storm outside and that eerie aah aah music starts to play. She gets her drunk on. She finishes dinner and takes her wine with her as she puts out the candles and lights and goes to bed.
Gab shows up at the hospital and wants Doc to give him something for his massive
head ache. Doc tells him itʼs so painful because he has a bullet in his head.
Itʼs nighttime at the cabana and raining hard. Elisa is sitting in a very unladylike position at the table with Dam. I hope sheʼs wearing underwear. The lighting from the candle is not doing either of them any favors with their looks. Elisa says youʼre crazy if you think Iʼm spending the night here. Dam says that heʼs not letting her go back to Gael. Well, heʼs the best lover I ever had, yes, thatʼs right, we did it. Heʼs better than you. Dam says no one is better than him and he leaves.
Dam leaves to get Floʼs envelope from the saddle bag. (Does that poor horse have to stand there the entire night without any oats? PETA!!) Dam reads Floʼs letter.
Sabrina and Flo are sitting together at Docʼs house staring at each other. Thank goodness Enrique arrives to break the silence. He wants to know why Floʼs there and what happened to her fake baby. Sabrina gets up to leave, but not before telling Enrique that she hopes he isnʼt stupid enough to forgive her because she never will.Flo tells Enrique that she gave Dam signed divorce papers and they will be finished. At the same time that Flo is telling Enrique, Damian is reading the same thing in the letter she gave him. It all started when Alfie put my dad in jail for something he didnʼt do. Thatʼs when I decided to come back to La Ermita and figure a way to get Dad out of jail. Alfie said she would let him off if Flo agreed to marry and have Damʼs baby. But Flo found out that she is sterile. But Flo and Alfie plotted to seduce Dam and let him think that she got pregnant. She needed a baby and Sabrina was pregnant. The rest is history.
Dam finishes reading the letter and walks out into the rain. He stays out long enough to get completely soaked. This is where TN rule #28 gets invoked. That rule states that if a person goes out into the rain and gets completely soaked they will then get pneumonia later that day or the next day.
Gael is sitting alone in the house that he bought for Elisa and him. Heʼs remembering back to the time when he showed her the house and how happy they were. Gael tells her his gun is fully loaded and heʼs not afraid to fire it. (That is a metaphor) It was a memorable event because it was one of the few times when Elisa was wearing a respectable dress. Padre arrives and interrupts his flashback to try to convince him to come home. The touching ooh ooh music is playing. Gael promises to kill Damian. No padre says, you are not a killer. Heʼs like your brother. Gael says that no brother would do what he did to him.
Doc informs Gabino that only surgery will stop the pounding in his head. Thatʼs because you have a bullet in your head. Gab wants to know why didnʼt he take it out? Doc says because it is delicate surgery and we needed a specialist. Doc wants to know how it was that Ingrid shot him. Gab says that the only thing that woman cares about is money. If Doc knew who Gaels dad was, heʼd know that heʼd get a big inheritance and she wanted the money from it. Doc asks if he knows where she is? No, but since you were her lover, you should. Gab is just happy that he wasnʼt the only idiot who fell for her.
Enrique and Flo are still talking. Heʼs mad. How could she team up with Paolo and plot to steal Sabrinaʼs baby? She knows it was a bad decision but she was desperate. He doesnʼt want to hear anymore and tells her to beat it. She tells him that after the death of her father, she realized that she did awful things and she now sees the error of her ways and is truly sorry. She wants to go about setting things right. She hopes that he can be happy with Paloma and the baby. He asks what sheʼs going to do and she says she doesnʼt know. He seems to be acting like heʼs warming to her again. (Here is what I would tell Enrique if he were my friend or brother. Enrique, although she may very well be repentant, she has proven that she would do anything if she felt desperate. She plotted to steal first Keniaʼs and then you own sisterʼs baby because she felt that was her only option. So something unethical and illegal is not off the table? In the future, can you trust her to not make the more decisions if she feels desperate again? Some things are just not forgivable, and plotting to steal your sisterʼs baby should be one of them.)
Edmundo visits Begonia. He wanted to tell her that Sabrina is in town and staying at his house. Begonia tells him that Paolo is also in town. She then does her usual and tries to get him to take her back. He tells her he has to leave.
Elisa tells Dam that as soon as it stops raining and she sees a unicorn jumping over the moon, sheʼs leaving. Dam tells her not to try, heʼs going to tie her up. (her look implies that sheʼs not unhappy about that)
Camina is in bed now with her wine. She remembers back to when she killed Augusto. Some pounding noise wakes her up from her revery and she goes to investigate. Paolo meets her at her bedroom door and forces himself in. He is there to pay her back for putting him in jail. Then he rapes her. (At this point, Iʼm reminding myself that Carmina killed 2 innocent people and that she started and continued a lie that has ruined many peoples lives, including the 2 she killed. She is pure evil.) Afterward, Paolo says that he canʼt believe he ever cared about a dried up old hag like her. He insults her more, with words that I donʼt know but I understand.
Ramona tries to get Paloma to drink something (it looks like a yummy smoothy) before she leaves for work. (Iʼll take it if she doesnʼt want it) Alfie arrives to ask Paloma if she knows where Damian and Elisa are. She doesnʼt know, but tells her that they are finally far away from her for once. Then Alf asks why Ramona wanted to talk to Damian before the wedding. Ramona tells Alfie that she told Dam her patented saying that no one can escape their destiny. Not even her.
Back at the cabana, Elisa is asleep on a hammock with her hands and feet tied up. (how kinky) Dam comes in and unties her and starts to cough, (see rule #28) Heʼs brought her breakfast. Tostitos Brand® Tostachos on a plate with melted Velveta® cheese sauce for dipping. (How does anyone sleep in a hammock all night and not need an hour massage by a cabana boy who looks like Damian without a shirt on when they stand up, I donʼt know.) Elisa has a look on her face like she secretly liked being tied up all night and heads for the table to eat. Pass the dip.
Elisa walks outside to wash up and gives the male viewers what they want. She sexily splashes water on her face and neck. Then she looks into her storage unit, also known as her cleavage, and reaches in to retrieve something. Letʼs see, where is it? Hereʼs my lucky rabbitʼs foot, hereʼs my pen that writes really good, hereʼs the ticket stub from that fabulous Pitbull concert in the La Ermita park last July, a couple of pesos for an emergency phone call, and oh, here it is, my amulet. She walks away from the cabana and demonstrates to us how she could have benefited from playing sports as a child by throwing the amulet as far as she is able and it goes about 5 feet away. Dan comes out and tells Elisa to not get any ideas about taking the horse. It wonʼt let her put a saddle on it or let her ride it bareback. He sees the amulet she threw and picks it up.
Begonia comes to Docʼs house with a plate of food to lure Doc into getting back together. He says goodbye and she stays to visit Sabrina. Sabrina wants nothing to do with her.
Alf comes home and tells Antonia that she needs her pills. Padre comes to visit. Alfie is starting to realize the error of her ways, but is still mad at Flo for deceiving her. Padre points out that she did the same thing to her.

She cries and wants to know what to do about it. Tells her to go see the on call doctor. Sheʼs upset that heʼs not taking her seriously. She telling him this so he can protect Sabrina. He says that he can protect her just fine and to leave. She starts blubbering about how she needs him and he must still care about her. She starts to kiss him and he is too weak to push her away. Thatʼs when Begonia walks into the office without knocking first.

Abismo de pasión #130 9/14/12: If Dam's not Getting Married...Ain't No Dam Body Getting Married!

Casa de Gabby’s Crib: Alfonsina is looking for Ingrid. Gabby reminds her that he found the receipt for the plane tickets. Alfonsina says that Gabby has always assured her that Estefania was the low-down husband-hawk who was running away with Rosendo. Gabby says that Alfonsina jumped to her own conclusions about those two tickets to paradise! He simply let her assume that his lover was Estefania. Alfonsina believes that Gabby would have never kept those tickets for all of these years if Estefania was the real culprit. Maybe so…maybe no, says Gabby. Gabby says that he will give her the tickets for 50% (what a bargain!) of the Procesadora. Alfonsina says that Gabby can kiss 50% of her butt, cuz he will never be part owner in her company. Gabby says she will never know the truth. Alfonsina storms out.
Casa de Castanon: Sabrina has come to visit Elisa on her wedding day. She wants to apologize for how she acted in front of Florencia. Elisa forgives her. Before Sabrina leaves, Elisa wants to know what Sabby wanted to tell her about Florencia. Sabby tells Elisa that Paolo told her that he never loved her. He was only with her to steal Sabby’s baby so that he could give it to Florencia. According to Paolo, Florencia can’t have kids; Sabby realizes that Paolo was lying. Elisa points out that Florencia is obviously six months pregnant. Sabrina wishes Elisa luck and walks out. Elisa caresses her amulet.

Let's settle in on the Patio and enjoy another evening in Anhedonia* where three young couples are preparing their floats for the Festival of Marital Despair. In this remarkably barren corner of the Yucatán, where the last live birth was the odious Chente, the population would have dwindled to nothing were it not for knaves and fools and their careless couplings.

At Casa Castigo:
Carmina's not selling Cielo Abierto to Elisa. Well then Elisa will fight for the land and the quinta. (Her words would carry more weight if only she would remember to wear pants.)
Elisa gets a phone call and arranges to meet someone.
At Hacienda Harango:
Florencia tells Damián to stop playing with his gun and put it back in the box.
[Anxious whispers are heard on the Patio. The crowd knows what's coming. What the hell is wrong with you, Alfonsina?]
Flor goes all sphinxy on Dam about tomorrow. Dam clueless may be getting a clue but still doesn't have a clue what it is.

The problem with Ingrid
While Doc Tovar and Gael wait for the ambulance to deliver Gabino to the Health Center, they have an awkward conversation about Curly. When doc tells Gael that Ingrid is married to Gabino, Gael feels bad that his ma toyed with the doc's feelings; and doc feels bad for Gael because his ma is such a cold, calculating slut. While Curly didn't actually admit to planning what happened, says Doc Tovar, she didn't exactly deny it either. She has probably already left La Ermita because she knew Edmundo was going to turn her in to the police today. Do it, says Gael.
Out at Ramona's chosa, the wail of the ambulance sirens spooks Gabino. He thinks the police are coming for him. (Perhaps he recalls leaving his shovel marking the spot of the huge death pit right in front of the blue house and overestimates the inferential power of local law enforcement.)
But for now, Gabino's punishment is that the bullet in his head isn't going to kill him. And it is only Ramona's herbs which can take away the torment of his headaches. The problem is, he ain't getting a second dose:
"Los vas a padecer día y noche el resto de sus días."
(The pains will torment you day and night for the rest of your life.)

Abismo de pasión #128 9/12/12: Ingrate bites the dust... or does she?... Alfie so close but yet so far ... Flo keeps teasing Damian about surprise on wedding day... Sabrina gets truth awakening... and Gabino gets scared with yerba spa treatments

Elisa remembering the scene on the road where Alfie asks Gabino to run the kids over after Gael gives Elisa the amulet from Damian. Adios Damian… Adios, mi amor!
Gabino shoveling dirt on Ingrate… he tells her the hole was for Carmina but he never used it. Throws the plane tix in the purse down to her and keeps dropping dirt on her. We see her up to her neck in dirt…
Lo Nuevo:
Gabino really burries Ingrate (or did he? We don’t see it… but we might as well assume he did since he wakes up with the hole totally covered up with dirt… Ingrate, how long can you hold your breath?... is it me or is this hole MIGHTY big for a single human being? Also, the dirt he was throwing in was very loose, not really dirt that has been sitting around for weeks or even months… (since before the time jump of 5 mos)
Gabino walks a few yards away from the grave but then drops to the floor… is he… is he… ? wait for it… (we will find out in 2 and 2… (chuck woolery , was that his name?) they make us wait a few mins on his status)
Fashion quip: must be new trend in wearing hospital gowns, off one shoulder. Cynderella, you approve?
DrT and the surgeon/neurologist who helped him treat Gabino discuss whether the bullet location would have affected Gabino’s motor skills… evidently it did not totally disable him if he walked away on his own. DrT comments he must be really weak and probably dehydrated as well… they need to find him and treat him asap. (the neurologist is asking DrT to give him his opinion on head x-rays?... this DrT is a whiz!!)
At Ramona’s… she is more than obsessed that Paloma eats before going to work… tells Paloma it will be a girl and she will have the same temper and stubbornness as Paloma’s mother… Paloma settles for taking an apple to eat it on way to work. Ramona remembers Remedios telling her she had met Gabino… and says Paloma and Remedios are the same…
Braulio and waste-of-screen-space Chente come to clinic, DrT tells them Gabino walked out and is gone.
At Quinta, Elisa receives visit from Dam… Came to alert you that Gael already knows everything… (well, I would not say EVERYTHING if we count that Rosie is his dad, that Carmina killed Kenya, that he is a dumb childish cluts)… Elisa will speak to Gael… anything else? Yes, wanted to talk about your dad’s lands (CA). Elisa reluctant to talk about that, but Dam tells her Alfie was behind Gabino buying from Augie… Elisa understands now why the bargain basement price tag. Why does she want CA? Dam says our procesadora is in trouble so my mom thought if we produced our own chile … Elisa refuses to let her aunt sell to her procesadora’s main competition… My procesadora is doing really well so I will pay my debts soon. Dam sarcastically congratulates her on starting her new life with Gael on the right foot… anything else? … no, well yes! Dam asks to let him hug her goodbye… they both cry… this hug seems a bit beyond a goodbye hug. He is about to kiss her but pulls back at last second… he gives her one last tender stroke caress on her face…
Outside Dam walks right into Gael… and Gael is again on ‘get out-a-here!’ mode… yells at Dam that Elisa and him have everything here in LaErmita… it would be very easy for Dam to start over with Flo elsewhere. Dam asks him what he means. Gael says once you asked me if I felt insecure about Elisa… Gael admits that as long as Dam is near, Elisa won’t be happy with him. Dam says I was born here and I want to stay here… ‘don’t you feel contempt with having everything? Look, the only valuable I have ever had in life is named Elisa (can’t blame Dam for taking away what you never had, boy)… so for the brotherly love we once had, I ask you to leave town and leave us in peace… (ok Gael, you have tried to ask Damian face to face several times already and honestly, I am tired of seeing you fail at that… how about trying to send him an email, memo, telegram, certified letter with return-receipt card, notarized proclamation, billboard, flyers nailed around town, plane advertisement, newspaper ad, or maybe you can run for mayor so you can have some authority to ban him from town. I am only throwing a few ideas your way. What you do with them is entirely up to you)
Alfie continues to order around her hacienda staff… the reception will be here in the garden (the last party in the garden was pretty eventful)… Carmina comes to see Alfie.. ALfie guesses this visit has to do with Alfie going to see Ingrate… Alfie asks why does my contacting Ingrate make you so nervous? Carmina mocks Alfie asking questions at this time about Rosendo and Stefie’s relationship. Alfie asks are you sure you have nothing to say? Carmina answers question with question. What has Ingrate told you? Alfie refuses to give details until she has the evidence at hand. Ingrate gave her clues that she has blamed the wrong woman all along. Carmina again laughs and mocks that theory. Alfie says if it turns out to be true, there are only two possibilities.. either it was someone I never met, or YOU ARE THE FATHER! (sorry, I mean YOU ARE HER!)… Carmina basically tries to make Alfie feel dumb for even thinking of that story. Why revolve the past again? Alfie says I am curious about what secrets Gabino has been keeping all along. Carmina tells her go ask him, he woke up last night. No idea what evidence Ingrate was going to give you but she is gone for good now. Besides, you should not trust her.. remember she wanted to blame your own son for a crime he did not commit… what if such evidence does not exist? Alfie swears she will get to the truth with or without Ingrate’s help. Won’t rest until I confirm if the woman who took Rosie from me was Stefie or not. I always suspected you know much more than you say… and if I confirm you have been deceiving us all, I swear to you there won’t be any safe hiding place for you in the whole world. Will put all my resources, all my power and the rest of my life to destroy you.
Elisa and Gael discuss what Carmina should do with CA… yawn… Gael lies to her about what he talked with Damian… what will he do about Ingrate? … Gael is looking for her to find out why she asked Damian to take the blame… he needs to know if she shot Gabino on self defense or if she pre-planned the whole thing and used US to kill him and not be blamed for it. Elisa asks what do you honestly think? Gael says the worst, he would believe anything about Ingrate by now. Kenya had told him not to trust her. He is sorry he had forgot that because there was a point he did believe in Ingrate. Elisa gives him a comforting hug.
Gabino is walking around, apparently toward the cenote, but he is wabbling as if he were drunk… now he does not have a bandana hand, he has a beige bandage hand wrap instead. Paloma finds him, in his delirium he thinks she is Remedios… ‘is it you? Yes, it is you… my Remedios… the only woman who has really loved me, my nina bonita…’ Paloma gets worried that he confused her with her mother.. questions why he was talking about her mother… calls his name loudly but Gabino won’t wake up again.
Sabrina visits Paolo at jail. HE asks her why she lied about ‘him raping her’… she did it so because he dropped her. He asks her to tell the truth. She asks him why he broke up with her when she lost the baby. Honest Paolo says cause I never liked you and you are a stoopid escuincla with whom I was about to ruin my life. She asks him if he has any message for his niece. HE says but of course! Ask her what she was planning to do with your baby. She was planning to take it and pass it as her and Damian’s baby. Flo asked him to be nice to Sabrina and fake being the loving fiancée and then when the baby were born, to make Sabrina believe it was dead and hand it over to Flo to pass it as her own. You wanted the truth? Well, there you have it. Can you handle it? It is not fair that I am here locked up while my niece enjoys the high life as Damian’s fiancée… I broke up with you when you lost your baby because the deal was off… Think, you shallow head!! You still don’t get it?? That baby would have been the Arango heir!! you are a stoopid nina!!
Alfie calls the clinic and finds out Gabino walked out, so she grabs a gun that belonged to Rosie…
Paloma brings Gabino to Ramona who loudly refuses to care for him… Paloma yells at her to care for him while she runs to get DrT. Ramona is reluctant to stay alone with him. Paloma keeps yelling to care for him. ‘what do I do now with this THING??’ LOL!
Paolo calls Flo and mocks being at beach and not having time to talk because he has a bridge game to catch. HE warns her that there is a wedding gift surprise coming toward her, which will be memorable, and she will regret having turned her back on him!! (slams the phone on her)… Paolo’s lawyer is there to visit him, seems to bring good news…
Gael and Elisa are riding his horse together, he is mad (so what’s new?) about seeing CA so abandoned after he spent so many years working it. Elisa promises she will find a way to convince her aunt to sell her the portion of the land she still has, and they will get it back and get it producing again. Gael promises the same thing back to her, he will support her as her husband and together as husband and wife they will see it through… (Damian has an angry frown watching Gael and Elisa kiss…)
Braulio is comforting Chente that Gabino will appear. Paloma runs in to tell DrT that Gabino is at her hut. DrT will send an ambulance immediately to get him… Chente runs out before Braulio can stop him.
Meanwhile Ramona is reluctantly caring for Gabino with an avocado/herb spa face mask applied with a metal spoon, acupuncture, chiropractic massage … Scared Gabino is grunting and asks her ‘what are you doing to me?’ ‘what one day I promised myself never to do for you, saving your life, you miserable scum!’
Alfie is waiting nervously at her hacienda. Damian arrives. (ok, have to admit her blouse and necklace are to die for.. where can I find that necklace for myself?) Alfie is in begging mode, asking Dam if he is still mad at her about Augie’s lands. She was not going to steal anything, she was going to pay a fair price. Dam says not so fair, what Gabino offered was a bargain basement. But it doesn’t matter because the lands won’t be ours or Gabino’s. Elisa wants to buy them from Carmina. Alfie argues that seems Gabino did not offer Carmina the full price she(Alfie) was willing to pay. Dam says it is evident Gabino was playing with you. Still can’t get his head on the fact that Gabino was Alfie’s trusted man for so long. ALfie says well, the important thing is I got rid of him for good. Dam says you took too long. Alfie alerts Dam Gabino left the clinic. And she taps her fingers nervously on her botox chin, she gives him the gun that belonged to Rosie. She is afraid Gabino will try to get back at Damian. Damian refuses, don’t need a weapon to defend myself. She gets him to keep it by telling him it was Rosie’s and he got it as a gift from my father on our wedding day. Dam thinks it is a strange wedding present (and so do I... then again, maybe i would not if papa knew his daughter well enough).
At quinta, Elisa was waiting for Carmina. Carmina arrives nervous and Elisa notices it. Elisa wants to talk … Carmina tells her Gabino walked out of the clinic… Elisa asks if Carmina still plans to sell CA to Gabino. Carmina reminds Elisa that deal was signed by Augie, not her. Elisa asks why won’t you sell it to me for a higher price? Cause it was your dad who decided on the price. I only dealt with Gabino for half of CA. Elisa tells her the lands were for ALfie, gabion was just an intermediary (presta nombres). Let me remind you my dad would never have sold the lands to Alfie. Carmina says as I would never sell them to you. Before I sell them to you I will sell to Gabino, Alfie or any stranger who walks by. Elisa tells her she will fight for CA and the quinta, and since Carmina has another place to live, she will fight for everything that was Stefie’s.
The phone rings. Elisa answers, she is confused by whoever is arranging a meeting with her, she leaves.
Dam is holding the gun in his hand, Flo comes in and gets nervous instantly. Dam tells her the gun story. Flo says you better put it away, so we don’t have an accident. Tomorrow our lives will change… Dam does not believe so. Maybe Gael is right, and we should leave this town… Flo says no, your friend is wrong. Your place is here in LaErmita. You can’t leave. Dam surprised since she always found any chance to persuade him to live in Mex City. Flo says I don’t want you to sacrifice for me. I know what this town means to you. What about if we just forget the subject for now. Tomorrow will be a very special day for us. That is what matters.

Abismo de pasión #127 9/10/12: Memories, like the corners of my mind...

Rehash- Doc is at the hacienda waiting for Ingrid when she arrives. He feels as though sheʼs hiding from him. Why did she lie to him? He found out that she was the one to pull the trigger and let Damian take the blame. But I didnʼt come here to talk about that. Why didnʼt you tell me that you married Gabino? Ingrid tries to hug and Doc tells her one of my favorite TN commands ʻNo me toques.” Another one is “largate”. He asks why did she want Damian to take the fall, why did she want him to let Gabino die? She says Gab had everything he had because she got it for him and it isnʼt fair. She wants her portion of it. He is mad that he and Damian got used by her and she needs to largate out of La Ermita and heʼs going to call the police tomorrow. He leaves, she has a hissy fit and throws things around. She grabs the leopard and throws in on the ground and lo and behold, there are the tickets she was looking for.
Carmina visitʼs Gab and cries about why he didnʼt listen to her about how dangerous Ingrid is. He suddenly wakes up and grabs her neck. She breaks free and he complains about his massive headache. She tells him that of course it does, you have a bullet in it. She gets help.
Braulio, Lola and Chente are in the square eating sandwiches. Antonia sees them and yells saying she was looking everywhere for them and there they are. Brau tries to talk to her about being easy on Chente and not fight with him. Antonia tells Lola, hands off my man. Lola agrees and leaves.

Abismo de pasión #126 9/7/13: Squawking & Stalking

After Elisa overhears the conversation between Ingrid and Damián, Dam comes clean about who really shot whom. No more lies! Well, at least not about that. Ing turns on the waterworks and the lie fountain, but Damián says let’s just see what Gabino has to say when he wakes up. He stalks off.

Ingrid whinges away to Elisa about shooting Gabino to protect herself and, oh, right, Gael – he threatened Gael. Yeah. Elisa says she totally understands: she, too, would have defended herself against anything other than a lifetime of verbal abuse, character assassination, attempted rape and slapping. You know, something really serious. But anyway, that wasn’t what she came for – she wants information on the Blue House. There’s a loud KA-CHING KA-CHING KA-CHING as Ingrid’s eyes turn into a slot-machine jackpot. The Blue House! The tickets! Let us fly, my pretty!
Hacienda Castañon:
Gael finally has enough of Tía Crazy’s poison pills and stalks off himself, only to encounter the Begoñaphone on the sidewalk. She dresses him down about his trashy mother and his trashy friends and he takes this for an amazingly long time before re-stalking.
Begoña goes inside and tries to rope her pretend friend into her little pity party: that tendriled tramp stole my husband, and now he’s going to marry her – and, what’s even worse, take her to live in the house that I decorated! Carmina has to pull out her little bingo card of sympathetic clichés to remember how normal people behave in this situation: ¡Qué barbaridad! ¡No puede ser! ¡Pobre de ti! Then she puts the card away and goes back to being herself: I have some citrus secrets that will give you the upper hand…

Weekend Discussion: Mandatory Forgiveness and Its Evangelists
Disclaimer:
I am not a practitioner of any organized religion, nor was I
raised in one. I know that the ability to grant forgiveness is a
primary goal in most organized religions, but if “To err is human,
to forgive divine” I will leave forgiveness to the angels.
We are
always being told that forgiveness is for the forgiver rather than
the person who offended him or her; forgiving is letting go to avoid
living with rancor and hate. I can buy that notion if the offending
act was committed in ignorance of the resultant suffering, whether
the offender simply did not know the person would be offended or if
s/he lacks the mental capacity for understanding such things. I can
accept the idea of forgiveness if the offender apologises sincerely
and makes amends (even if that can only mean getting out of the
injured party's life). I cannot extend the same absolution to
persons who knowingly commit malicious acts regardless of their
motives for doing so.

Redux: Ingrid can’t find the tickets so she kicks pillows and rants. Elisa has flashbacks to a time when she was more tastefully clad. Damian has flashbacks to a time when he had more sense. Pop! goes the sleazel! Carmina busts in on his memories.
Lo Nuevo: Carmina pushes hard to poison Dam’s mind against Gael. Doesn’t Dam realize Ingrid set him up? It was planned all along and Gael helped so he could get Dam out of the picture and calmly marry Elisa. (Grab your magic beanies folks. There are more holes in this theory than in Elisa’s clothing.)
Begoña is bored and mopey so she gives Enrique a hard time for marrying Paloma. She doesn’t know who is worse, her slut-mongering ex or her slum-sucking son. OMG, she actually gives Enrique her special bag of miscarriage tea. Nice. As he rushes upstairs to pack his bags she shrieks their house has turned into a brothel. (More like a manicomio if you ask me.)
Carmina keeps pressing Dam. Elisa hasn’t stopped loving him so Dam has become an obstacle and Gael is desperate. Dam insists his friend would never do that but his Dam Stoopid cogs and sprockets start creaking. Slowly.

Abismo de Pasión #124 9/5/12: Gabino's room turns into the hot spot in town... Gael keeps sinking his face in it... and the Stepford wives/mistresses have multiple face-off's with each other

Carmina beating up Gabino ‘don’t you realize you are the last thing I have in life?’
Elisa talks to Lucio about what happened. Lucio remembers when Nina died and how he suspected Gabino all along. HE is mad that Gael and Elisa did not let him know what was going on from the beginning. IF you had told me earlier I would have baked a cake… baked a cake… baked a cake…
Horacio at Nina’s grave sweating bullets of remorse, appologizing, saying ‘usted no debio morir’ (you should not have died) ‘yo se que no merezco su perdon’ (I know I do not deserve your forgiveness)
Inmundo comes in Gabino’s room and slams the door at seeing who Gabino’s visitor is. Carmina feeds him a story that she is affected by what happened to Gabino, Inmundo not buying. Carmina says if Gabino dies, you will have II all for yourself. You don’t know what kind of ‘alacran’ (scorpion?)… Inmundo defends II saying she has gone through much, having to give up a son, burying a daughter here. Carmina says I had to burry a son, my sister and the remains of my husband. Inmundo threats, don’t mess with Texas (I mean, II), II and I will rebuild our lives. (Yikes! the white of her teeth is brighter than his med robe!) Carmina says please forgive me, II is exactly the woman you deserve.
Lo Nuevo:
Gael is giving II his bed.. warns her about the old lumpy mattress, the sweaty stinch, the cockroaches, and the plaid shirts all over… II begins her crying stage act… she is ‘moved’ at what he is doing for her, exactly what she should have done for him, tuck him in and prayed with him (i need a B___ bag, please!) every night as a child. Gael is not as moved as she thought, says ‘don’t worry, there was always someone to do it. But you are right, at times when I was little I wondered what it felt like to have a mother to pamper you.’ II swears she thought about him every day. Gael says ‘I wish that were true’. II asks why he does not believe her… Gael says because of what Kenya told me about her childhood with you, she suffered much… II is willing to answer all his questions. What Gael wants most is for II to tell him who his father was.. II just says that subject needs a long time to explain, will tell you tomorrow… when I tell you it will change your life. When that door is opened, there is no turning back… Ok tomorrow… tomorrow… I’ll love you (I mean I’ll tell you)… tomorrow!... it’s only a day aaaway… (she kisses him goodnight and then rubs the stitches in her face with her fingers)
Elisa asks Lucio ‘help Damian’. He wonders why she worries about Dam so much if she is about to marry Gael. Elisa not worried about that. Elisa admits to Lucio that she does not want to visit Dam again because it is not good (maybe she means 'easy' here) for her to be with him.
Damian in jail remembers Elisa was about to tell him about her feelings, he guesses correctly that she was about to tell him she still loves him.
Outside the jail cells Alfie and Loopy are unsuccessful in having the guard let her see Damian, even when she threatened him with losing his job… Alfie assures the guard he will regret ‘this’.
Next morning Carmina is with Gabino, II comes in… starts mocking Carmina that she seems to have a bad vibe around her, that Gabino, her only ally/savior left in the world, will die… Carmina tries to demand II give her the money Gabino was going to give her for Cielo Abierto. II keeps on mocking her that she will never see the money or get the hacienda. II even tells Carmina that Gabino and her married ‘por bienes malcomunados’ (shared assets). Carmina calls her bluff, then mocks her back about letting Gabino beat her up. That II had it all planned out for months. You knew how to surround yourself with people who could pull the trigger on Gabino for you. Poor loser Inmundo thinks you are a martyr but you are the worst of hypocrits… what about your litte bastard? you thought he would defend you no matter what... But have to admit to being surprised II would get Damian to do it for his friendship with Gael. II tries to play it like it is all in Carmina’s imagination. You are worse than me, no you are much worse. Both villainesses threaten with destroying each other… when who comes in… wait for it… wait for it, the actual ONLY LEGAL lover of Rosie Arango… a third woman who would want Gabino to have died?. Alfie in the flesh… Suddenly we have three women and a loser in the room. II takes over the show, telling Alfie how nice you showed up, Carmina can now tell you about all her secrets. Carmina tries to make her exit, says no secrets here. Alfie asks why the rush. Carmina says you are probably more in hurry to get your son out of jail. Alfie agrees, she wants II to come with her right now to the courthouse to declare so Damian will be free right now. Alfie notes that Damian’s defect, inherited from his father, is that he is incapable of refusing to help a ‘lady in distress’ , in this case II. He is noble and brave, but doesn't realize there are 'mujeres como tu' (another reference to the song with Pepe Aguilar) who don't deserve being saved. Carmina laughs in agreement. Before Carmina leaves, Alfie tells her she wants to talk to her about an unfinished tea talk subject, Stefie. Carmina, visibly startled by the sudden request by Alfie to stir the pot of christmas past (especially when II has just CASHED IN her chance to give Carmina the 'right back at you' laugh), claims she has nothing to hide. Carmina steps out only to find herself in front of … wait for it… wait for it… her constant annoying conscience in the form of Padre Loopy. She asks him if he is here to give Gabino the last rite, surely he won't survive. Loopy asks if she is affected or relieved by Gabino's situation. Maybe she is relieved she is ridding herself of one of the people who know her secrets. Carmina assumes Loopy was the one that hinted Alfie about asking Carmina about Stefie. Loopy denies he said anything and reminds her must be one of the several people who know your secrets, he has enough having to keep quiet about her sins. Carmina says don’t forget I am the expert in planting hatred among people. Loopy says would never forget that, you abominable woman, that you have spent many years spreading hatred and unhappiness to people’s lives. Carmina threats about planting hatred between Damian and Gael. Loopy says don’t dare touch them. Carmina says what will Damian say when he realizes he is dying of jealousy because Elisa will marry not his friend but his own brother. She will cash out on Damian’s anger to make the brothers hate each other to death. ‘ah, you did bring your bible… here you can see the results of that…’ Loopy assumes she is talkin about the story of Cain and Abel (where Cain killed Abel for jealousy/hatred). Carmina says Gael, Abel, Damian, whatever the name. What matters is that they are not the first pair of brothers to kill each other. Carmina leaves on a high. Loopy watches her concerned. (wow! that whole sequence in and out of Gabino's room was AMAZING!!)
At hacienda, Braulio and Tonia comment that Dam's situation is not easy, and that it is better CHente does not know what happened to Gabino for now. Chente comes out, Braulio will take him to the procesadora Castanon to show him around. CHente excited.
At Castanon procesa, Flo finds Quique. She found out about his upcoming marriage to Paloma, came to congratulate him. Quique surprised she bothered to come for that. Flo calls him on his lie, last time they saw each other he said Paloma was just a friend. He calls her on being the last person who should call him on a lie. Flo takes a step back saying she only wants the best for him. Quique says he thinks the changes coming in his life are positive. Flo says just think about it, from own experience i can tell you it is the worst torture to get hitched to someone who doesn’t love you. HE gets irritated reminding her she told him many times Damian was the love of her life. Flo says she is not happy, she realized too late that due to the pregnancy, she was chained to a life she did not want to live. She had the silly hope that some day he could rescue her. She always thought that no matter what she could come back to him. Quique asks ‘did you expect me to wait for you all my life until you got tired of being Mrs Haranguo?’.. Flo says she realizes all she lost. What pains her most among her losses are dad and Quique. Wish you happiness… Goodbye. (kiss).
Back to the 2 Haranguo mothers in Gabino’s room… THey threaten each other, Alfie wants II to declare in favor of Damian, she can accuse II of trying to murder her with Gabino. II threats she can change her version of what happened and accuse Damian of shooting Gabino intentionally. Alfie backsteps and says she wants to have the party in peace… II says heck no, you would have me kicked out of LaErmita. Alfie says not quite, I know now we have a common enemy, Carmina Bouvier and I know you can give me, or SELL me, the info I want. II says yup I know quite a bit of her. We both seem to be interested in having Carmina disappear. Alfie says for first time we both have something the other is interested in. II says Deal! I will declare in favor of your son. Alfie buys into it and leaves. II mocks Gabino… what did you expect? The three ‘Stepford wives’ in front of you and you could not do anything or enjoy the show!... (gets close to his face) why don’t you do me a favor and go ahead and die already?’(what’s with II rubbing her stitches next to her mouth into all the men she talks to ? she kissed Gael and now she kisses Gabino’s face and rubs her stitches afterwards… creepy).
Alfie insists to Loopy to marry Damian and Flo. She will do whatever is necessary to get Damian out of jail in time for him to get married this weekend. Loopy promises her to go see Damian later. II comes out and is elated to find out from Loopy that Gael was worried about her when she was not there in the morning. She believes she is finally getting to his heart. Alfie is running out of patience and poking her face with her fingers nervously, wants to take II to Merida.
Said Gael is talking to Elisa in his room (she is wearing some type of sun-catcher as necklace, complete with beads and feather-like strings) about being worried for II. Gael says last night he got to talk to II and it felt more sincere than ever. But he is really confused about all that is going on. Elisa suggests to postpone the wedding a week or two… (wrong move! Instant HULK tantrum has been triggered). Of course not!! (with a face that says Hell can freeze over before I let our marriage be postponed!!... grow up, boy!! Not everything is about you and Damian and your insecurities about Elisa!!) Elisa says doing it for his mother… and also for you, you look affected by all that has happened. Gael gets mad again, Elisa says I am here for you, only trying to help you. HE apologizes for his reaction, saying the tantrum is not about her. Elisa is not buying his appology until he tells her WHAT OR WHO is making him so angry.
Braulio and CHente meet up with Quique at procesa… Quique still thankful to chente for what he did for Sabrina, gives CHente the phone number so he can call her. Quique tells Chente about Damian shooting Gabino and Gabino being in serious condition at health center… Braulio worried about CHente who took off running.
Back to Elisa/Gael, now full blown replayed argument about Damian and who-do-you-love: ‘try and deny that everytime you see Damian something like this happens! Don’t you think I can see how you hug him? how you melt for him? / I don’t melt for anyone!/ Certainly not for me! I got that real good! Since we got engaged I have not betrayed you. / no? Try to deny that you still love him. / Look, I have always been honest with you but now I am beginning to question about your honesty. I have known you all your life. And something is up with you. And obviously you are hiding it from me. / You are right. (with a 'caught with the hand in the cookie jar' look down in shame) / Then stop acting as if you have a big load on your conscience, because mine is really clean.

Flo visits Paloma at DrT’s office. Paloma gets defensive, but Flo says don’t worry my place is with Damian. Paloma smartly points maybe your heart is not. Flo turns the question on her. Are you in love with Quique? Paloma says ‘I don’t use those tricks of getting preggers to catch a man’. Flo says would not like for QUique to go through same situation again and be with a woman who does not return his love…. Later Flo asks Paloma how does it feel to be expecting a baby? Paloma says perhaps same as you. A huge happiness but at same time fear, want to be a good mother. Will be the biggest love of my life. / Your grandma was right/ what did she tell you? / that there is something in the look of a pregnant woman… not sure but … maybe… happiness… (Flo leaves crying, perhaps feeling sorry for not really being pregnant and envying Paloma a bit).
Lucio visits Dam at jail in Merida. He pains to see Damian there. Damian says don’t worry, lawyer is working on it. Lucio says there are a couple inconsistencies in your story. You said you fought Gabino for the gun and then it went off by accident. In the police investigation it showed the gun was shot about 4 meters away from Gabino, and that is why he is still alive. Dam tries to say it all happened so quick that the details escape him. Lucio says better remember so you will be released. At least while he is in jail he won’t have to deal with Flo or with Alfie. Lucio laughs in agreement but says you better not be hiding anything. Better tell the truth sooner rather than later. Alfie runs in to tell Dam that it is all settled, II declared in his favor and she paid the bail. The day after tomorrow you will be able to marry Flo. Lucio is forced to congratulate Damian. Damian looks like he heard his friend died.
Loopy is seeing Gabino… too sad that no one in this town is interested in you… (as if called by intercom, in runs Chente). Braulio tries to get CHente out, but no one will get him away from his papa. Outside the room Braulio uses Lolita’s shoulder to cry on about CHente. Lolita says Chente will have to realize Braulio is the only father he ever had. Braulio thanks Lolita. She goes to talk to CHente. Lolita talks to Chente and tells him about Braulio being his only father, whereas Chente rejects him to be with someone who never cared about him. But CHente won’t listen so Lolita gives up, comes out and tells Braulio she will spend the night in the waiting room with him. Braulio moved at Lolita’s concern in both Chente and himself.
Alfie drops off II at hacienda. Alfie is thankful to II for declaring for Damian, and, that business done, tries to get II to tell her about Carmina. But II claims she is too tired and it was a long day. Alfie seems to buy that. Talk to the pillow about the price tag on some plane tix I am interested in. II says I am no travel agent. Alfie says don’t be silly, you know what tix I am talking about. Sure. Who told you about them? That doesn’t matter. I want them. II says what you want is to find out what names are in them, if Stefie or someone else. Alfie leaves.
II looks in Gabino’s safe and around all over the hacienda for the plane tix… to no avail.
Elisa gets home and remembers scenes about their childhood where Gael was jealous of how she wanted to contact/write to Damian. (sighs.. hah.. Gael will never change)
Damian remembers another childhood scene, when he and Gael were talking about Damian having his dad but Gael not even knowing who his was but he has Damian, Elisa and now Paloma as friends… then Elisa and Paloma arrived and Damian and Elisa suddenly only had eyes for each other. Suddenly Damian’s daydream is rudely interrupted by the last person he would have expected to see (i giggled at her response 'but you had me in the list, right?')… Tangel-Ho. She mocks him for always having been so naïve… you don’t realize you got played by II… that woman is a fox… II used you to shoot Gabino. Even if it hurts you to hear this and you don't believe it, Gael helped her all the way. (she is certainly fulfilling her promise to Loopy)
Previews: Carmina keeps twisting the knife… Gael confronts Carmina saying not Damian or anyone will separate Elisa from him. Carmina says don’t be so sure… and seems to give him the same spoon fed poison… VO: but among so much evil, a truth explodes!... Damian confesses to Loopy that he did NOT shoot Gabino Mendoza.

Abismo de pasión #123 9/4/12: The News Spreads—Gabino Took A Bullet In The Head and Damian’s The Shooter
La Ermita Health Center – The Drama Unfolds
Ingrid has really lost it. In a voice shrill with hysteria, her face busted and bruised, bloody lip and side curls drooping she begs E. Tovar, M.D. to make sure that Gabino Mendoza dies of his gunshot wound to the head. No, she is not kidding. With Gabino alive she will have no peace…Edmundo naturally thinks she is just upset. HIS Ingrid doesn’t mean this. He cannot just let Gabino die. He is a doctor and besides, it is better for Damian if Gabino doesn’t die. Ingrid twists the meaning of his reply, “Oh, so Damian is more important to you than I am”! As Edmundo tries to calm the ranting woman, she pulls away and says, “Don’t touch me, I want to be alone”. Edmundo leaves her twitching in some waiting room at the hospital.
In Dr. Tovar’s Office Paloma and Quique have THE News
In Dr. Tovar’s office, Paloma sits anxiously. Heaven forefend that she should be working when Dr. Tovar is off on some emergency. Enrique comes in and they have a sweet conversation. She is excited to be having this baby, even thought her grandmother thinks she is making all the wrong decisions. Enrique tells her not to worry; as far as he is concerned the baby IS his. He offers to make a real go of it as a couple and kisses her gently on the lips—as Gael walks in.
Gael is shocked but when QuiQue says that he and Paloma are an item, he tells Paloma that he hopes she finds what she has been looking for. She is happy with her man, she claims for the first time in a long time. Enrique tells Gael they are expecting a child. Gael is muy upset.
Gael looks like someone smacked him upside the head with a wet burrito. He doesn’t believe it. She is not in love with Enrique. She is too! Paloma snaps and he should not forget it again! He congratulated the happy couple and gives them his news—Damian has shot Gabino!
Carmina Gets the News
Carmina runs into Delores right as she is leaving for the Health Center to be with Elisa. Lolita tells Carmina that her FRIEND, her ASSOCIATE or her BELOVED Gabino Mendoza was shot in the head by Damian.
The News Travels to Horacio’s Shed
Alfonsina pays Horacio a visit and accuses him of shooting Gabino. Horacios smiles when he asks if Gabino is dead, but the Black Widow says that he is in grave condition at the Health Center. Well, demands Alfie, if it wasn’t you then who shot him? Calm down, Horacio tells her. The matter is out of Alfonsina’s hands.
Elisa Visits Damian In Jail and Gets Some Completely Different News
Elisa asks Damian how he is doing and he says very well, thanks for coming. (Really, Damian? You are very well?) Elisa says she came because he shouldn’t be alone. He says the lawyer is taking care of everything. They begin to talk about his upcoming nuptials. He doesn’t want to lie in front of God, be married in the Church to a woman he doesn’t love—He is doing it for duty, nothing else. Then you are being manipulated by Flo and your Mother.
Elisa asks why and Damian comes out with the whole story. He is not sorry. He did it for Elisa, to save her inheritance of the greenhouses. The only way his mother would not take legal action against Elisa’s for her debt—was if Damian met Alfonsina’s condition. One, he had to stay in La Ermita and Two, he had to marry Florencia in the church. Now there is some fine hand porn as these two touch through the bars of the jail cell.
Now they go back and forth about how he is happy to help her and his friends. She calls him a fool. He tells her that she lied about being in love with Gael. He tells her to go and be happy with Gael. Elisa is crying and when Damian asks why she grabs him though the bars and pulls him to within kissing distance. Elisa tells him—Because right now, my whole heart and soul are with him…AANNDD the door opens behind her as Flo comes into the jail cell area. Elisa leaves and Flo thanks her for coming. Damian fights back tears as he calls, “Adios, Elisa”.
Back At The Health Center There Is More News For Alfonisna
Alfonsina enters and asks Dr. Tovar how Gabino is . He is alive but grave. Alfie cuts to the chase, in Edmundo’s best medical opinion, Will Gabino live? Edmundo reiterates that once the specialist sees Gabino they will know more. It is possible, but there is no saying how his cognitive functioning will be. There are many documented cases of a patient recovering from a gunshot wound to the head.
Alfonsina want to know who shot Gabino. It was your son, Edmundo replies. No, no…Alfonsina faints to the floor.
At The Jail
Florencia says she noticed that Damian and Elisa seemed to be having a MOMENT when she came into the cell. Elisa was crying and very close to you…Damian says he is very anxious in the jail. Flo says she is there to support him.
Damian breaks the news that he thinks that, given the circumstances, they had best cancel the upcoming Church wedding and celebration. Flo is a bit menacing as she replies that it is a shame, many people are counting on the outcome of their marriage. He apologizes and acts the part of the perfectly supportive wife. Don’t worry, Flo croons, what is important is YOU, Damian. Well, your recapper thinks that Flo has more than just a fake-baby up her sleeve. She is being far too nice here for my liking.
Moving The Story Along
· Carmina reflects on the Good Times with Gabino. Well, not really but she does recall their hot sexo.
· Guadalupe and Gael have another yet conversation about Elisa not loving Gael, etc, etc. ‘Lupe asks if he spoke with Ramona yet. No. Lupe looks sick.
· Gael tells Lupe about Ingrid, Gabino and the shot heard around La Ermita.
· Gael, Lupe and Ingrid run into one another in the Plaza. Lupe insists that Ingrid be his guest at the Rectory. Meanwhile, Gael is finally falling for her sob story and offers to accompany her to the Hacienda so she can get her things.
Gabino Receives Some Visitors
The OO-whoo-oo music begins as Horacio, dressed in blue scrubs with a mask over his face comes into Gabino’s room. The scene is a little Shakespearian, as Horacio lowers his mask and says, “Thanks for everything, Gabino. For giving me one last chance to change my life . He gets closer and speaks right into Gabino’s face, “For turning me into a murderer”.
His back is to the camera as Delores walks into the room and addresses him as ‘Doctor’. She asks for permission to enter. He ignores her and doesn’t answer. Elisa walks in and Horacio makes a quick getaway without Delores seeing his face.
In Another Room At The Hospital
· Alfonsina is propped up in a bed. Elisa visits her and wants to help Damian. Elisa tells Alfie that Damian acted in defense of Ingrid. Alfie is a bitch to Elisa and Flo comes in the room. Elisa leaves.
· Flo asks Alfonsina what is wrong with her. Alfie thanks her for asking, but Florencia quickly takes the wind out of Alife’s sails. In the best line of the night, Florencia states,
· “It is a shame, Alfonsina, that you did not have a heart attack”. Pow! Score one for Florencia!
· Padre Lupe comes in and offers to take Alfonsina to see Damian in jail.
· Elisa tells Don Lucio the news about Damian and Gabino.
In Gabino’s Room
Carmina comes in, leans over Gabino and…starts beating him in the chest with her fists. He doesn’t respond. Wow. She calls him an imbecile. Edmundo comes in and asks why Carmina is there. Do they have a relationship? Carmina snaps that Gabino WORKS for her. Then she rags on Edmundo for having a relationship with Gabino’s lover., a woman like THAT. Edmundo defends Ingrid’s honor and makes a delusional statement about his lover, “She is a decent woman, a good woman who has suffered much”. Carmina comes back with, “You are right Edmundo. Ingrid is EXACTLY the kind of woman you deserve”.

Abismo de pasión #122 9/3/12: Where everyone in La Ermita gets a chance to become impactada
Our regular commenter cathyx has agreed to help us out with Monday's episodes and give recapping a shot. Now presenting the first recap by Cathy...
Old news: Dam visitʼs Elisa and Lola is very anxious. Since sheʼs worried about them, she tells him that Elisa and Gael went to Gabʼs house. Camina arrives at Gabʼs house to talk business. Heʼs not there but Ingrid is. Ingrid tells Carmina that she knows they are lovers but doesnʼt care. Ing knows Gab better than anyone and has an obsession to have everything that Rosendo had. That is why Ingrid is at the hacienda instead of her. Carmina looks puzzled so Ing tells her that she was Rosendoʼs lover before her and she
gave him something Carmina never could. A son. Carmina is impactada.
After Alfie leaves, Flo scours the house for the other keys to her room.
Gab comes home and wants to know why Ing didnʼt come to the bank with Gael. She said she changed her mind. She tells him she wants half of everything. Everything he has is because she got it for him. She killed Guido for him too. She knows he has lovers and she got one too the day that he had sex with Carmina. Sheʼs been doing her lover for 5 months now. Gab is impactada.

Abismo de pasión #121 8/31/12: Of Course She Said Yes! Did You See the Size of That Ring?
Sorry so late. I didn't have any ccs, so I had to really concentrate. There may be some mistakes that I will correct later.
Casa de Arango Florencia’s Bedroom: Alfonsina plunges a knitting needle into Florencia’s prosthetic belly! Florencia’s deception has been discovered! Damien, Enrique and Ramona observe the heated confrontation. Help me! I love you, Enrique! Whew! It was only a dream! Florencia wipes the sweat from her brow, only to discover Alfonsina, sitting beside her bed, has been watching her sleep.
Casa de Mickey and Mallory Foyer: Gabby points a pistol at Gall (let’s hope he uses it). Ingrid pleads with Gabby not to shoot her son. She begs Elisa to take Gall outside. As soon as they leave, Ingrid joyfully leaps into Gabby arms.
Mansion of Mickey and Mallory Porch: Gael wants to go back in and rescue Ingrid. Elisa, who’s thinking, doesn’t believe it’s a good idea to confront a psycho who’s holding a pistol. Gael wants to know if she has weapons at her house.
Casa de Arango Florencia’s Bedroom: Alfonsina wants to know why Florencia was screaming Enrique’s name in her sleep. Alfonsina tells Florencia that Enrique knocked up Paloma. Alfonsina tells Florencia that Alfonsina will be her worst nightmare; don’t piss her off. She’s only being nice to Florencia because she’s preggers, but once she drops that fake babyload…it’s on! Florencia tells her mother-in-law not to ever come into her room uninvited again. She forgot to lock the door, but that won’t happen again. Alfonsina tells Florencia that she has a key to her bedroom. Florencia didn’t forget to lock the door.

Last night’s leftovers (better the second night): Ramona serves it up to Florencia, Flo had better tell Dam she’s not pregnant before Ramona gets to him first. Ramona’s kitchen table wisdom gives Flor heartburn.
Fried Local Fish and Chippie: II sticks her head in Doc T’s crotch, trying to convince him not to go after Gabino for slapping her around. Her faux helplessness hooks this flopping cod completely as she lies that she suspects Gabino of killing Kenia and now she fears for Gael’s life. She fillets him with the suggestion that Gabino dead is the only thing that will set her free.
Low Sodium Diet: Elisa and Gael - Thank the telenovela gods that neither of these flavorless blobs is your real-life tour guide to Valladolid and its environs. Yawn. Mute.
Stale Organic Popcorn: Enrique convinces Palomita that marrying him is the best option, citing all the reasons we have already heard in every other telenovela. In a fun twist Begoña appears and accuses Paloma of getting pregnant to trap Enrique. Begoña never quite gets it, does she?

Abismo de pasión #119 8/29/12: SO much filler it feels like we're playing ring around the rosie... Ramona puts pressure, Alfie plays victim, Elisa looks for II to get answers
WANTED: RECAPPER FOR MONDAY NIGHTS. Now that school has started Sara's schedule will no longer allow her to continue recapping Monday nights. If any of you have thought about giving recapping a try this would be a perfect opportunity. Ridiculous story lines, absurd characters, great body language, this hot mess practically recaps itself. If we don't have any takers I will just post discussion headers on Monday.
Tonight's recap by Marta Ivett
Ramona reads preg test results of Paloma’s. Not happy. I knew it, although had hoped it would not be true. Just like your mom, you will be a single mom. (Paloma says don’t worry, I will face the music alone). Ramona reminds her you can’t force a man to love you. Ramona will make Gael respond for her. Paloma says no you won’t. Ramona disappointed in Paloma sleeping with Gael again even if he was engaged to her best friend. Elisa has to find out before she marries a guy who does not know how to respect her. Paloma denies Gael is the daddy, Enrique is… (NO SHE DIDN”T SAY THAT!! … yes she did). Ramona has a hard time believing it, knows Paloma is protecting Gael. One thing is to make the mistake of sleeping with the man you have always loved, another thing is to sleep with a guy you don’t love. Paloma says slept with Enrique to try to forget Gael. Was desperate. Is that so hard to understand? Ramona states the obvious: that is not the answer. Enrique does not love you either. Paloma says if she could change things she would, but it is too late and she is fine being a single mom. Ramona won’t allow her to follow her mother’s steps. That child will have a father and a name! Ramona runs out in a flash.
Alfie is crying in her room. Dam comes in to try to apologize… Alfie whines he used her weak spot to hurt her so. Dam says have been swallowing anger against you for months. You got Guido in jail! Alfie says everyone forgets she had evidence of Guido’s guilt. She was hurt to make that decision. Guido was her friend. Dam questions why she doubted Guido’s innocence. Alfie says she was just projecting her anger at Damian, YOU had abandoned me and the procesa, she felt Guido had taken advantage and did it to laugh in her face. Dam brings out the fact that Alfie had forced Flo to get pregnant in order to get her dad out of jail. Dam recalls the night he and Elisa were going to leave and Alfie brought the pregnancy results to the quinta to stop them. Dam says I am your son, not your slave or your marionette!! Look at me! Look at what you did with my life. Elisa is about to marry my best friend. Alfie insists he has to dedicate himself to his wife and son. Dam gets outraged… What else needs to happen for you to admit to your mistakes? No, I don’t make mistakes!... or at least I try to repair the damage! … Dam is depressed now.. thank you for making my life miserable (gris). Thank you very much.
At the house of M&M… Gael and Elisa arrive. Elisa recognizes it that as children they were walking by and Dam saw his father leave the house… Elisa second guesses her belief of her mother’s innocence. Maybe the one who has been wrong has been her. Gael won’t let her say that. He says what is really strange is that the house ended up in hands of Gabino and II. Elisa says you are right. II had wanted to talk to her about her mother and the past. Asks Gael to take her to Gabino’s hacienda to talk to II.
At church, Padre Papa Loopy is asking God for guidance… been watching the people around him hurt each other for many years and he has been a mere observer… asks for guidance to help those he loves.
At breakfast, Flo tries to bug Alfie about her arguments with Dam last night. Alfie says don’t talk about it in front of servants. Alfie notes how Flo enjoys learning that Alfie and Dam argued. Could it be perhaps also about Enrique Tovar?... Alfie says she saw them at the town plaza talking. Flo protests if not able to talk to anyone. Flo could care less what Alfie thinks. Alfie will stop that issue herself. Flo not happy.
Dam finds Ramona at cenote, she is crying and he is worried about her. ‘never thought you were capable of crying, thought you were very strong. / even the strongest of souls cries when something hurts… the soul…. If you can’t do something for yourself, I doubt you could do something for anyone else… it is many of us who have ruined our lives. Look what happened with Flo. Now you will marry her by church. (he responds it was the right thing to do) I wish Enrique Tovar will be as much a man as you.’
Quique arrives at DrT’s house. DrT is waiting for II but while he waits, he will tell Quique on what’s up with his life. Meanwhile BeGoneYa is talking to who knows whom about her children abandoning her and her husband about to marry another. .. Ramona arrives asking for Quique. Ends up having to tell BeGoneYa why she is looking for Quique. Paloma is expecting his child and he will have to marry Paloma.
BeGoneYa denies that her son is responsible, given her granddaughter’s reputation… (wrong answer! Not the day to provoke Ramona the witch… then they do a dance routine, Ramona takes a couple steps forward, BeGoneYa a couple steps back)…/ I better go, before I slap you right into the floor…
Gael/Elisa at castle.. eh.. I mean the Gabino Mendoza hacienda. Gael tells Elisa II is very nervous because she is living there with Gabino. Gael can’t understand why II is still with Gabino. He has tried ‘millions of times’. But at same time he feels like II is hiding something from him, he remembers Kenya telling him not to trust II. Elisa insists she has to talk to II, II had told her Gabino and OrangeHo keep secrets of each other about the past. Gael suggests they forget all this and go for a walk around Valladolid/Merida. Lets take a day off and spend a day together… she finally accepts the day date.
Meanwhile II (in very dark large sunglasses) is at quinta looking for Elisa. II is really anxious, need to talk to Elisa urgently. She has to talk to Elisa without Gael being around. Lolita gets on ‘defend Elisa above all else’ mode and tells II she knows Elisa and Gael since they were kids… she loves them as her children and won’t allow II to hurt Gael anymore. II tells her ‘butt out of my business and you have no right to judge me’. Lolita insists she won’t let anyone, including II, ruin Elisa and Gael’s wedding day. II gets crying, asks that Lolita tell Elisa that II needs to talk to her, but this time she can’t go to her son. Just as II gets out, Pop! Goes the Sleezel… she hears from Lolita that the visitor was II, so she runs out to catch II before she leaves. Questions what II had to talk to Elisa about. II says how funny that now that your niece and my son are getting married, we will be relatives!! Jaja!! Orange-Ho does not find it so funny. She asks II what she is after, to accuse her to Elisa? II says I am not dumb, I know what you are capable of. My daughter and your own husband both appeared dead just after they found out about your deals with Rosie. But if something were to happen to me, I have taken steps to make sure Alfie and Elisa will learn the truth. Nice talking to you. Have a nice day.
Quique is happy for DrT. Hopefully you will find in this woman what you are looking for. Door knock. They think it is II, but it is Paloma to tell them Ramona found out she is pregnant and she needs to ask them a HUGE HUGE HUGE favor. They say yes without hearing what it is first (BAD MOVE!). She had to tell Ramona that the baby she is expecting is Quique’s. DrT is outraged… Quique not so much. He can understand Paloma because of what he himself is going through with Flo. Paloma is very thankful of Quique. The lie does not have to last long, only until Elisa marries Gael. DrT wants her to tell Gael. DrT sends Quique and Paloma ahead to the consultorio, he is expecting someone else. Paloma begs DrT.
Flo(cute maternity dress) arrives at Castanon procesa and is blown away that ‘Elisa has created all this from nothing’. She wants to see Quique, convinces the receptionist to let her wait for him in his office.
Elisa and Gael are walking around Valladolid, Gael is excited to tell her how all the region has been working on restoring the old churches and buildings, convents, etc and restored the plaza. They even built resort hotels by the cenotes.
At La Anita procesa, Gabino wants to talk to Dam. Dam says we have to talk about something serious. Gab brought him a cigar, a real good Cuban. Dam passes on it, I don’t smoke. Dam wants to cancel the contract with Gabino since Gabino has not been able to grow a single habanero. Gabino whines and blames the darn white fly pest. Says Alfie won’t let Dam cancel the contract. Dam says the one at head of the procesa is me. Gab says you can’t afford to lose another supplier. Can’t lose another supplier to Elisa’s procesa. Dam says not your problem. Dam asks are you so desperate as a farmer that you want to go back to work here as a simple employee? Gab says that’s not where I am going. I don’t want to be employee, want to be your associate. Dam says in this my mother is right, no one without the Arango surname will be at the head of this business. NOONE!.
II finally arrives at DrT’s. He is very charming and cuddly with her, she does not seem so engaged into it. She came without suitcases. She cries, still with sunglasses on, came to say goodbye, can’t leave Gabino. DrT disappointed… II says Gabino discovered her when she was about to leave with the bags. She tries to make him swallow a ‘I don’t love you as much as I thought’ lie. He knows she is lying, he ends up grabbing her and taking her glasses off. He is mad, grabs her, yells at her to not treat him as an imbecil, she is afraid of Gabino. Now she says she does love DrT but is very afraid of Gabino. DrT whispers he will kill Gabino with his own hands. II looking away and down is smirking, (that is what she wanted all along).
Out in fields somewhere Gabino and Orange Ho… Gabino swears to OrangeHo he will kick II out of his hacienda. She will stay at LaErmita though. OrangeHo says that is not good enough. She knows too much about her, saw the plane tix. Gabino says II can’t spill beans because she knows he would not like that. But II will stay at LaErmita because it is convenient for him. II is untouchable for OrangeHo.
Ramona arrives at Castanon procesa. Also ends up heading to Quique’s office. Flo is sitting there. They both figure out who is the woman in front of them. Flo says ‘finally got to meet the town witch’. ‘not a witch but I am old and savy, you can’t deceive me. You are not pregnant.
Alfie arrives at BeGoneYa’s supposedly to try to scare Quique into not looking for Flo anymore, but BegoneYa in true form spills that Paloma is expecting Quique’s child… Alfie seems to consider that even better than whatever she had in mind.
Back at Castanon procesa… Flo keeps in denyal, Ramona keeps saying ‘I know what I am saying, because I can compare you to another woman I know who is indeed expecting a child’. I don’t know of man’s medicine, but I do know what my mother learned from my grandma. (Flo doesn’t let her touch her belly… LOL!!) Ramona says ‘you better talk to Damian before I do’.
