TELEMUNDO Y MÁS (#2): Todo Por Mi Hija, Falsa Identidad 2, y más: Week of October 12, 2020

TELEMUNDO WEEKEND EDITION (continuación)

Here's Page 2 for the week. The current evening telenovelas are as follows (all times are Eastern Daylight Time):

• 9-10PM—Todo Por Mi Hija***
• 10-11PM—Falsa Identidad 2***

***Telemundo has again changed its website, this time to show that neither novela will be seen on Thursday. Zap2It indicates that something called Minuto para ganar will be shown at 9PM and Falsa Identidad2 at 10PM. I have no idea which listing is correct.

Everyone is welcome to join in the conversation. Since discussions of all the Telemundo novelas share the same page, please remember to put the name of the telenovela you're referring to at the top of your post, so readers can easily find the conversations they're looking for.

By common agreement, this group DOES NOT discuss previews, trailers, or any other plot information not found in a current or past episode of the current production. Spoilers WILL be removed by the admin. This includes reference to earlier productions of the story, and even the original novel. Thanks for your cooperation!

Imperio de mentiras, #17, 14/10/20 A Rosa by any other name would lie as much

Previously on...

Elisa is kidnapped in front of the restaurant where Leo is waiting for their “let’s start over” date. The Cantus should look into getting a 2 for 1 discount with the feds for their kidnapping situations.

Her head covered, she is taken to the fanciest looking kidnapping bunker, where Dario is waiting, to spread some of his Cantu sisters lover joy. Gun to her head, Elisa receives the following instructions: she is to take the million dollars that he will hand her and deposit it in the account that he will give her. And she has 24 hours to do it. Elisa refuses, she can’t move around all that money to their shady accounts, the constructora is being monitored.  Dario points out that is not HIS problem, and if she doesn’t do as he says, mommy Victoria will be the next to suffer the consequences. Elisa, I say good riddance, let him try, see who wins in a fight with Victoria Cantu.

Imperio de Mentiras, #16, 10/13/20: Confusion, Delusion, And A Few Emotional Contusions

When is a kiss not a kiss?  When it's conflicted.  Like Leo seems to be. the poor thing.  Seems his motor's revving but he's still stuck in P for parked.  Elisa is tired of him just spinning his wheels.    He tells the teary-eyed Elisa that his head is a jumble of mixed feelings and thoughts.  She wonders why he didn't figure it out once he saw the videos of Julia with Daddy.  Those should have clarified a lot of things for him.  Leo doesn't want to hurt her, but he doesn't know what he feels/wants and his emotions are all over the board.  He's not rejecting her BUT... Well, he might as well have according to Elisa.  She says she doesn't deserve to be played and knows exactly what and who she wants.  (Gawd only knows why it's him.)  Head games simply are not on her list.  Leo looks scared to take her at her word.  However, timid teddy bear types on guilt trips are not Elisa's--nor this corner of Viewerville's--style.  (Please, somebody buy this dude a clue.)  She walks away, more than less perturbed.

Imperio de Mentiras Lunes 10/12/20, Chapter 15: Secrets, Lies, and Illicit Lovers

Too much insomnia after too much of the air of the dog makes for unsought brevity. This time, anyway. – Dashiell Hammett

What did you say, Clara?” Leo asked. “what did you tell me?”

Don't be afraid, Clara,” Victoria said, in that voice that shouted it was something unwelcome. “Just tell Leo what you discovered about her.”

What did you find out? Tell me.”

I'm sorry, it was nothing.”

No, no,” said Victoria with a cynical smile Leo could only hear in her voice. “It's not your fault that your sister was my husband's lover.”

Is what she said true, Clara?” Leo asked. He was calmer than Victoria was hoping for. “Is there anything you want to tell me?”

No, sorry,” she said. She left the room quickly. She did not look him in the eye. He went after her.

Clara, wait.” He followed her out.

At least she told him,” Victoria said. She was as unemotional as a CEO addressing a board meeting.

What have you done, Mother?” Elisa asked. “Why is this person in the house?”

Is she the sister of the woman who died with my father” Majo asked.

What are you doing?” Elisa asked.

Why don't you tell her? Because you have no case? Clara is my personal assistant.” She turned to Elisa. “Besides, there is nothing wrong with helping people who need it.”

I'm sorry, but I don't believe in your 'good intentions.' What does she know about Father? What did she tell you?”

TELEMUNDO Y MÁS (#1): Todo Por Mi Hija, Falsa Identidad 2, y más: Week of October 12, 2020

Welcome to Page #1 (Monday edition) of the Telemundo y Más page, issued twice a week: Mondays and Thursdays at 8:00 PM. Here are the current evening telenovelas (all times are Eastern Daylight Time):

• 9-10PM—Todo Por Mi Hija**
• 10-11PM—Falsa Identidad 2**

**[UPDATE!] On Monday, Todo Por Mi Hija will be preempted by the end of Exatlón's gran final. Falsa Identidad 2 will be shown at 10 PM as usual. The regular schedule will return for Tuesday and Wednesday. However, Telemundo has now changed its website to show both novelas at their regular time on Thursday. Zap2It agrees that Todo por mi hija will be shown at 9 PM, but at 10 PM Zap2It shows a special program: Trump o Biden: los latinos piden (Trump or Biden: Latinos ask). I think Zap2It is probably correct.

Everyone is welcome to join in the conversation. Imperio de mentiras, #14, Friday 10/10/20 Rejected in love, Elisa turns her attention to work... for a hot second

Like always, scenes have been combined and dialogue reduced to the important facts. Feel free to add anything I might have missed.

Elisa is kissing on Leo again and this time he really looks uncomfortable. He goes for the “it’s not you, it’s me” speech, or the Spanish version “no me lo tomes a mal”, but it only makes Elisa feel worse, since she thought he felt the same (gotta be the breakfast he prepared for her several times).

Leo’s problem is that he hasn’t forgotten Julia (how could he, since she’s only been dead for 14 capitulos). But they do need to keep working together to find the assassins. (Remember the premise of the show? So much seems to have happened in the meantime)

In conclusion: what keeps them together tears them apart (cue dramatic music).

Everyone hates Elisa Imperio de Mentors #13 10/08/2020

Maria Jose is rescued, so is Dario's mom who assumes her son is dead and starts to spill the beans about his criminal activity, Maria Jose tells her to keep quiet and to say nothing else to the police. Leo tries to get Maria Jose to talk to Elisa but she refuses to, in fact for the rest of the episode Majo continues to refuse to see/talk to Elisa because this dumb bell apparently trusts her kidnapper more than she does her sister, maybe she is too stupid to live.

Elisa is heartbroken that her sister won't talk to her, but things only get worse for her because Fernanda, with Eugenio's blessing tells Victoria EVERYTHING, she tells Victoria that Leo is a cop, that Majo was never in New York but was in fact kidnapped. Victoria is livid! Behind the scenes Eugenio  pulled some strings to get his dirty cop Gilberto to interview Majo about her experience, he does this in order to find out what Majo knows about why/who ordered her kidnapping. Majo tells Gilberto she has no idea why she was kidnapped, she believes it was in order to get money from her family, she says she was blindfolded the whole time and would be unable to identify her abductor.

Imperio de Mentiras Lunes 10/5/20, Chapter 11: Stockholm Syndrome

Prisoners can be very strange, but then people are strange. That's what keeps me in tobacco and booze. – Dashiell Hammett

Eugenio gave Dario orders to have his men kill Maria José and to dispose of the body. Dario resisted, but Eugenio would not let him off the hook. He was forced to make the phone call and give the order in front of Eugenio. He told Domingo to get Gustavo in. He looked at Eugenio as he ended the call. “Perfect. You aren't the idiot you appear to be. Advise me when this is completed.” He then left.

You can't trust anyone around here Imperio de Mentiras #10 10/03/2020

Dios mio, I'd encourage all of the patio to grab some ice cold drinks and a few snacks to get through this. I had to watch the episode twice just to make sure I caught 80% of what happened. Here we go!

Elisa's attempt to rescue her sister was a bust, the guy that was going to lead her to Maria Jose is now dead and Elisa quickly realizes that they are screwed. The guys death means that the Cobra (Dario) has been following her and that he knows she has gone to the police. I don't know why she's so surprised/ upset about this, Dario made it very clear that she would be followed and watched. *Also, how does a guy being thrown off a bridge not make the nightly news?*

Jose Luis is now in a very uncomfortable position, he has three officers working a kidnapping case, a kidnapping that has not be officially reported and now they have a dead guy on their hands, he asks that Elisa officially report the kidnapping which she does. Dario of course knows that Elisa has broken their agreement and later tells Maria Jose that her sister cares more about money than she does about her well-being, he also tells her she's going to be staying with him for a while.

I hope that car had insurance Imperio De Mentiras #9 10/01/2020

Hi everyone! hope you enjoy the recap.

Elisa spends most of the episode trying to secure the one million dollars requested by the kidnapper, she asks the general manager of Cantu Inc. to call all the banks and try to secure a loan, they are going to lie on the loan applications and tell the bankers they need to money to finish some of her dads projects. Fernanda later questions Alfonso (the GM) about Elisa's erratic behavior and Alfonso spills the beans about the money, Fernanda then calls the police station and reports that Elisa is looking for a large sum of money.

Maria Jose fails at trying to run away from her kidnappers, Dario makes a show about "punishing" her but in the end does nothing to her, he ends up staying in her room as she sleeps.

Clara has the worst first day at work ever. Victoria jumps right in and accuses Julia of sleeping with her dead husband, Clara denies this and tells Victoria the following: Julia was a teacher making only a very small wage, the money was not enough to provide for the family, nor was it enough to cover their fathers high medical bills. Victoria's husband recruited Julia into a scheme where she would transport stolen art for him and that's what got her killed. Victoria insists that they're lovers. Ugh, someone should tell Clara to quit this gig, she can probably make more money selling pictures of her toes on the internet and it would be a lot less stressful.
