Imperio de mentiras, #14, Friday 10/10/20 Rejected in love, Elisa turns her attention to work... for a hot second
Like always, scenes have been combined and dialogue reduced to the important facts. Feel free to add anything I might have missed.
Elisa is kissing on Leo again and this time he really looks uncomfortable. He goes for the “it’s not you, it’s me” speech, or the Spanish version “no me lo tomes a mal”, but it only makes Elisa feel worse, since she thought he felt the same (gotta be the breakfast he prepared for her several times).
Leo’s problem is that he hasn’t forgotten Julia (how could he, since she’s only been dead for 14 capitulos). But they do need to keep working together to find the assassins. (Remember the premise of the show? So much seems to have happened in the meantime)
In conclusion: what keeps them together tears them apart (cue dramatic music).

Everyone hates Elisa Imperio de Mentors #13 10/08/2020
Maria Jose is rescued, so is Dario's mom who assumes her son is dead and starts to spill the beans about his criminal activity, Maria Jose tells her to keep quiet and to say nothing else to the police. Leo tries to get Maria Jose to talk to Elisa but she refuses to, in fact for the rest of the episode Majo continues to refuse to see/talk to Elisa because this dumb bell apparently trusts her kidnapper more than she does her sister, maybe she is too stupid to live.
Elisa is heartbroken that her sister won't talk to her, but things only get worse for her because Fernanda, with Eugenio's blessing tells Victoria EVERYTHING, she tells Victoria that Leo is a cop, that Majo was never in New York but was in fact kidnapped. Victoria is livid! Behind the scenes Eugenio pulled some strings to get his dirty cop Gilberto to interview Majo about her experience, he does this in order to find out what Majo knows about why/who ordered her kidnapping. Majo tells Gilberto she has no idea why she was kidnapped, she believes it was in order to get money from her family, she says she was blindfolded the whole time and would be unable to identify her abductor.

Eugenio gave Dario orders to have his men kill Maria José and to dispose of the body. Dario resisted, but Eugenio would not let him off the hook. He was forced to make the phone call and give the order in front of Eugenio. He told Domingo to get Gustavo in. He looked at Eugenio as he ended the call. “Perfect. You aren't the idiot you appear to be. Advise me when this is completed.” He then left.

Hi everyone! hope you enjoy the recap.
Elisa spends most of the episode trying to secure the one million dollars requested by the kidnapper, she asks the general manager of Cantu Inc. to call all the banks and try to secure a loan, they are going to lie on the loan applications and tell the bankers they need to money to finish some of her dads projects. Fernanda later questions Alfonso (the GM) about Elisa's erratic behavior and Alfonso spills the beans about the money, Fernanda then calls the police station and reports that Elisa is looking for a large sum of money.
Maria Jose fails at trying to run away from her kidnappers, Dario makes a show about "punishing" her but in the end does nothing to her, he ends up staying in her room as she sleeps.
Clara has the worst first day at work ever. Victoria jumps right in and accuses Julia of sleeping with her dead husband, Clara denies this and tells Victoria the following: Julia was a teacher making only a very small wage, the money was not enough to provide for the family, nor was it enough to cover their fathers high medical bills. Victoria's husband recruited Julia into a scheme where she would transport stolen art for him and that's what got her killed. Victoria insists that they're lovers. Ugh, someone should tell Clara to quit this gig, she can probably make more money selling pictures of her toes on the internet and it would be a lot less stressful.

Sonia and Leo are outside, taking a breath of fresh air and threatening one another.
She thinks that she has Leo cornered, but that’s not exactly true, since he’s just seen her making out with Marcelo in the bathroom. Slow clap, Leonardo Velasco, you're not that bad of a cop. Also, I gotta say, Marcelo is pretty stupid to risk this much, it can’t be because of his great love for Sonia. More likely his libido and thinking he’s too good to be discovered? Sonia knows Leo is no NY businessman and he knows she’s a cheater. Leo suggests a pact, they both keep their mouths shut and keep on doing what they want. Sonia supposes that Elisa is not aware of the lie, but she doesn’t have a choice but to agree to Leo’s terms.

Imperio de Mentiras #7, 9/29/20: Guess Who's Coming to Dinner or Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot?
Dario shows a
misbehaving Elisa what's behind Door #1 and Door #2 if she continues to disobey
him. The first video scares Elisa out of
her wits as she sees a mockup of Maria Jose on the video crying hysterically
with a gun to her head complete with the gun going off. Dario describes in wretched detail how the
whole family will blame her and how it will be her fault if, in addition to
losing Papi, she must bear Majo's death on her conscience. Elisa becomes hysterical until Dario Demento
shows her the second video of her sister and threatens again to kill kid sister
if Elisa goes off the reservation again.
(Torture and abuse in my book!)
"--No more little games!"
Elisa agrees to be obedient and do what he asks provided once those
darned art pieces are found and returned, her sister is returned to her in one
piece, and he never darkens their door again.
(What? Elisa must really be
trippin' to think she's got that kind of leverage with Scario de Dario (thanks
to patio peep, Susanlynn for the perfect moniker).
Dario wants the truth about any supposed boyfriend of hers since her family has never heard about him. Elisa names him on the fly as Leonardo
Marquez and says the family is simply not in the know. He's from Nueva Yorrrrk and was tied up with
something when her daddy died. He reminds
her that her life belongs to him now and he'll be watching every little thing
she does. Otherwise, he'll make sure Majo
is tortured mercilessly before he finally kills her.

Leo found Elisa in the airport lobby, head down as though she were crying. She wasn't, but was clearly distressed.
“What happened?” he asked.
“My sister was kidnapped. They threatened me they would kill her if I went to the police, if I told my family, if I didn't do what they demanded. They said they would return her to me once I did and they did not. Help me. Help me, please. I implore you.”
He embraced her as he looked around. “Try to calm down.”
“They won't return her to me until I give them the things they said my father stole.”
“Do you know where they are?”
“No, no. I have no idea. They're capable of killing her.”
“We will save her,” he said. “I will help you.”
“No, Leo. No, no, no, I don't know how.”
“You don't know what I can do. I will investigate –”
“No. you can't. We can't risk her life –” She tried to leave, but he stopped her.
“Don't forget that this is related to the murder of my fiancée. I can help you. My car is outside; let's get out of here.”
He took her suitcase and they left, looking around warily.
