Amores Verdaderos #155 Tue 6/18/13 Gramps, you old scamp

Amores Verdaderos Cap 155, 6-18-13—Gramps, you old scamp

Brief overview. Getting a late start. Hope to fill in blanks later. Discuss amongst yourselves.

It's all about what Anibal wants. . .

Bulleted list, summary. May not be in order. May be fraught with errors!

* Anibal is determined to introduce Cande as his wife-to-be. She's a bit hesitant, but whatever. He drags her to the mansion and drops a bomb on Vicki. Vicki has a sh*t hemorrhage when she discovers that Cande is classified as the "love of his life." "Is she the woman you were galivanting around with when my mom was dying?" Poor Cande tries to set the record straight, but Anibal won't take any of this crap and tells Vicki that they're just going to have to suck it up and accept Cande. The Furry Fornicator wanders around with a glass of booze in his hand and makes snarky comments. When Anibal is asked how come it's okay for him to marry someone of a lower class and financial status, he says it's okay for him to do it, he's an old geezer (oh wait, no he denies that later) but anyway, he's got money and he can do what he wants, dammit! Unlike Vicki and Nikki, who are saddling themselves to good-for-nothing mooches. Big Angel doesn't like hearing himself classified as a good-for-nothing.

* Nikki and the Little Ape are still happy. Keep an eye on these two, I think I see an anvil in the horizon. Nikki tries to fix dinner, but she BURNS THE PASTA. No puede ser. The Little Ape says okay and they order pizza. They are talking about the families and catch up on things. Gramps cancelled her credit cards, blah blah, Little Ape says that's okay, blah blah, Little Ape is going to get a great job—I wouldn't count on that yet, Guzmancito!—Nikki makes some snarky remarks about Lili, the bad blood is still there and it's gonna be BAD when their real blood connection comes out.

* Anibal has Cande twisted in knots, believing that she's got to still conceal the truth about everyone's parentage. He tells her that if Adri knows the truth, they'll both get sued. Cande says, well, we would have it coming, right? Anyway, Cande gutlessly promises to keep the secret for longer, all the while thought-bubbling about her guilt. Whatever.

* Roy the Boy is coming along in his goal for humanhood. He opts out of a night on the town with Omar to read about gardening and earthworms, and seems genuinely interested! Omar shakes his head. It looks like Lili is starting to thaw a little.

* Adri asks the silver-haired Carlos where this relationship is going. Carlos, to his credit, admits that he's a love 'em and leave 'em kind. He doesn't plan on getting married or having kids, he is too stuck in his ways. Adri says that she's "too old" to think about settling down now (really?) and they agree to just "see how things go." Don't waste your time on this one, Adri! Throw him back in the water! I am waiting for her old flame (and Lili's baby-daddy) Vicente to show up.

* Lili and Polita go out to the movies with Jean Marie. Happy happy. Lili and Polita also have some sort of chat, about Roy the Boy I think and maybe also about what a bitch Nikki is. I kind of dozed off during this part.

* Happy happy at Beatriz's household. Guillo did some artwork showing Leo the Low as an angel. It seems like Guillo is accepting how things are. Salsa-Dude refers to Guillo as "their" kid. Happy happy happy.

* The Furry Fornicator takes a photo of little Mia in the hospital and sends it via cell to Kendra the Ho. She is lounging around at a spa or something, living in the lap of luxury, while feeding the FF some line about her "Aunt Puchis's" sad, sad funeral. "Seeing her in that awful coffin was just awful!" she cries, as she slinks around in her fab hotel room.

* Nikki is chatting with the Little Ape and talking about how Gramps has cut off her credit cards, blah blah blah. "Grandpa will stop being angry with me soon, because I'm his granddaughter—his ONLY granddaughter!" Uh oh!

* Vicki is all outraged about Gramps wanting to marry Cande. She assumes that Big Angel knew about this beforehand and he's keeping more secrets. Poised to read the riot act, she's surprised that Big Angel knows NOTHING and is super impactado. She gets all sweet and sugary with him. He starts to connect the dots and wants to talk to Cande ASAP.

* Anibal is calling people and making plans, obviously trying to manipulate Cande. What a douche.

* Big Angel flashes back to seeing Cande beg forgiveness to a dead Christina (in front of the Virgen de la Guadalupe statuette) about something. He connects all the dots (Cande admitting that Chris's dad isn't dead, Chris didn't know who he was, etc) and starts to suspect that Anibal is Chris's baby daddy. He confronts Cande about this. She does her frozen roll-eye thing here and thought-bubbles that she can't tell Big Angel the truth quite yet. She admits that years ago she met Anibal and fell in love with him, but says she got lost when she found out he was married. She doesn't admit that Anibal is the baby-daddy. (I got a little confused here. Wouldn't Big Angel want some confirmation or denial of Chris's parentage, or does he assume/not assume that Anibal is the daddy?). Anyway, she says that Vicki thinks that she (Cande) is some sort of Grandma Ho now. Big Angel promises to clear that all up for Vicki.

There's more stuff I forgot, but this should be enough to get us started. Screencaps (hopefully) coming later.

PEAM, Tuesday 6/18/13 (#72): Running With Scissors

Chucho doesn't want to go to Acapulco, but that dress isn't going to deliver itself, and he is the only person in the world who can do it, according to Valentina, Xochi, Mari, and Cardenas; so who is he to disagree? He calls Delia and says there's an emergency, and therefore he has to leave town, pretty please?

Delia starts to say no, but then some flunkie hands her a signed, stamped, and approved arrest warrant. (If you play it back verrrrrry slowly, you can see "Rogelio Rivadeneira" in blurry letters in the lower left corner.) This pleases her so much that she authorizes Chucho's request. "Gee, thanks," he says without enthusiasm. "We're going to Acapulco," he tells Valentina in the same tone one might say "we're going to the Registry of Motor Vehicles."

Cardenas helpfully protests that there isn't enough money in the budget for two more tickets, but Mari and Xochi say that Rogelio will probably fire Cardenas if he's the reason Alma doesn't get her dress and they cancel the wedding. So, yeah, this is gonna happen, and Chucho's gonna MAKE it happen! What a guy!

Sansón and Rogelio get a couple's massage, complete with cucumber slices on their eyelids and scented candles everywhere.

Alma and Paty are getting facials, also with cucumber slices. Paty agrees to help Alma with her makeup, "IF the dress arrives." "Don't tempt fate," Alma warns. (Is it really necessary to "tempt" fate? Dude, fate is like a little kid running with scissors!)

Corazon Indomable, #27, Tuesday, 06-19-2013 An impactante meeting leaves our galan in his usual state of clueless disbelief

Yesterday MC learned how to walk in 5 inch heels (already she is a better lady than me) and made Viewerville realize that not all people use cutlery the same way; Tobias found out the big secret, but he would not be a tn character if he decided to tell the truth immediately; Octavio, the Oblivious One, kept wasting the air he breathed; and Viewerville came to the terrifying realization that Solita is pregnant, too.

Today we start off with …a bit of yesterday’s last scene, actually: MC chatting with Justa, telling her how different she sees life now, thanks to Don Alejandro’s help, how ignorant she used to be and how much hurt she had to go through. Justa encourages her to stay positive, think about her baby, try to find the father, but MC doesn’t care about him anymore, he betrayed her and left her alone the wolves who only wanted to hurt her. Now all she wants to do is work, find a way to repay Don Ale for all the good he’s done to her.
Then the talk goes to Solita and how much she’s eating and Justa mentions that maybe Solita, too, is pregnant….

Alejandro is revising the latest balance sheet from the casino and tells Tobias that he doesn’t understand how come the gains are becoming increasingly smaller. According to Carola, this is because of the thief that is scaring away the clients.
But Ale’s biggest worry right now is MC, so he’ll take her to the theater tonight, to see a musical (oh, boy, will she put her shoes on the balcony banister like Maria la del Barrio did once upon a time when she went to the Opera?).
Alejandro sometimes wonders whether he did the right thing trying to change MC so much in such a short period of time (the screen slides to MC happily learning stuff), but she is making such a great progress and so fast (like all tn protagonistas are required to, duh!). Ale also plans to take care of Solita later on (thank God for that, did he hear us?).
Left alone, Tobias is wondering if he’s doing the right thing by keeping MC’s paternity a secret….Take your time, Tobias, no pressure…

Amores Verdaderos #154 Mon 6/17/13 a bit of this and a bit of that... Nil-Brains and Anyballs protest Nikki and Frankie relationship, they could care less... well, Nikki has some reality checks to endure.

Sorry if some of this is choppy, we had a major thunderstorm going through here during AV, will edit tomorrow as I rewatch...

JA walks in on Vicky and Carlos at her office, and drops a book worth of papers on Carlos…

Vicky reprimends, how about knocking before burging in?

Carlos makes his quiet exit… Vicky and JA argue like teens

JA is way out there in his jealous rage. Vicky puts him on the spot, I hope my guy will trust me. JA responds ‘yes ma’am!’

Candy comes to visit Anyballs, she wonders why he called her in. ANyballs brings up the Nikki/Guzman affair issue. Candy is more worried about Lilli. Anyballs changes the subject drastically, we have to go public with our hand holding. Everyone should find out you are the love of my life… I want you to be my dinner guest tonight, with Vicky and Adri. And you will be there as my fiancee’. Candy wants to spill the beans about Lilli, Anyballs goes ‘whoa there! Not so fast’ I want them to know you are the woman I have always loved but not ready to take mask off… I am ready to confront everything (cough cough, with that one HUGE exception!) … for you Candy.

Candy comes out (not sure what response she gave him other than deer in headlights eyes)… JA sees her, asks her what are u doing here? Who are you looking for?

Nikki calls Vicky and tells her the ‘wanna get away?’ moment she just had at the grocery store (that is how my dear Tatito is treating me). Vicky says don’t worry, I will get you all set up (with her own plastic, I am guessing).

Vicky sends Frankie a message to come see her in her office asap.

Nikki is at farmers market, is more lost than a worm in a hen house…

Back to poor deer Candy with JA at offices. Candy puts as excuse the new job of Lilli’s at the greenhouse of ANyballs, JA needs to talk to Anyballs. Candy makes her exit, or maybe she was running (she was indeed running) to the ladies room?

Anyballs calls HR and apparently makes sure they won’t speak well about Frankie if he uses the company as reference. (yikes!!)

Roy comes back to green house, this time minus the costume. Lilli treats him like crap, won’t even consider accepting him as a friend. She whoshes him away but he comes bag like a pest bug. He pleads with her to give him a shot, he wants the job as her assistant. I personally like his trying to get the job saying he will call her ‘jefa preciosa’. She says this job is not for him, who Is famous and gives press conferences all the time. She won’t believe that he is willing to leave that celebrity world behind for her. So he says put me to the test. If I don’t measure up, you fire me.

JA goes in to talk to Anyballs. JA assures ANyballs his relationship with Vicky won’t interfere with his job. Anyballs turns on his recorded message ‘yours is a very unequal relationship’. JA wants to bring back the subject of Lilli and the greenhouse. Warns Anyballs she is not very experienced. ANyballs says he trusts her abilities. JA repeats his warning.

Corazón Indomable #26, 6/17/2013: The Evolution of Maricruz; Tobi Sniffs Out the Truth

The Evolution of Woman

The Old:
Maria calls Maricruz to let her know she dropped off The Box of letters and documents, and is on her way back to the countryside. Downstairs, Doubting Tobias tells Alejandro they need to find out the secrets in The Box to find out who Maricruz really is.

The New:
Maricruz tells Maria, say it with me now… “Yo quiero morir!” Having heard this from Maricruz about 100 times before, Maria ignores her and goes right to chatting about the sweet life Maricruz is now living. MC admits that Don Ale is good peeps. Maria’s money runs out and the call ends before they finish speaking, but Maria is just pleased that she fulfilled her mission and can now be on her way, to bring delight, merriment, and hijinks elsewhere.

Tobi continues to try to convince Ale to break into The Box. After all, if the girl dies on them, and they don’t really know who she is, Ale could be held responsible. Don Ale shuts down those morbid thoughts. (Tobi is as much of a Drama Queen as MC with all this death talk.) Ale doesn’t want to betray her trust that way. When MC feels better, she can give them the details of her life. Tobi doesn’t look convinced.

Amores Verdaderos #153 Fri 6/14/13 Nikki Does the Unexpected; Anyballs' Plan; Joan/Carlos and Adri Get er, Cozy!

Happy Father's Day Y'all!

The Balvanera Foyer of All Things Pertinent:
Anyballs is in a mood, when is he ever not in a mood? Things haven't quite gone as he'd planned. FF has wandered home in his dishelved state, all that time in the hospital ya know. Anyballs warns the FF he wants no publicity about this Mia, as in no pics and no speaking by Kendho to the press of her being the Mother of Mia either. FF reminds Anyballs he knows all of his secrets, about Lili and wouldn't Adri like to know. Anyballs recommends that Mia be put up for adoption as that would be better than FF or Kendho raising the child. FF is pithed and takes a swing at Anyballs, but for a man advanced of years, Anyballs is pretty quick and stops him. FF reminds him that he also had an illegtimate daughter (Cris) out of wedlock! Anyballs doesn't want to be threatened and FF warns him it's a promise cause he can tell that to everyone anytime! Ms Vikki comes down the stairs and isn't happy to be seeing what is going on. She wants to know what the heck is going on here? Anyballs tells her it has to do with Nikki and FF is now curious about Nikki too. Anyballs gets right to the problem, er his problem he knows all about Nikki and Guzman! FF has been kept in the dark and wants to know the skinny on that too! FF of course, turns to Ms Vikki and wants to know what is going on here? Now Nikki and Frankie (Guzman) decide to come in at about this time, laughing and carefree. Meantime, Polita and Tomi are at the top of that staircase and the Angel and Lili are about to come into the foyer but stop. Just setting the scene. Nikki is so happy everyone is gathered together in this foyer, that would be Ms Vikki, FF and Anyballs even though Ms Vikki knows what is coming. Nikki takes Frankie's hand and informs the gathered family that she is in luurrrvvvve. They smile at each other and smooch right in front of them. This is when the Angel and Lili are about to come into the foyer and stop. They are both shocked by what they are seeing! Same with Tomi and Polita at the top of the stairs! Nikki now informs the assembled family members that Guzmancito is no longer her bodyguard, but is her boyfriend and they are soon to be married. FF is beyond pithed! He tries to yank Nikki away from Frankie, but Frankie stops him.

Corazon Indomable #25 6-14-13 MC Takes a Depressive Turn y Oblivio Finally Adds 2+2 Correctly!

Corazon Indomable #25 6-14-13: MC Takes a Depressive Turn y Oblivio Finally Adds 2+2 Correctly.

The Old
Don Alejandro and Maricruz arrive at the pension. MC runs (leaving poor Alejandro behind) to find her sister depressed in bed. Serafina tells Don Alejandro that Solita has a fever and the doctor also reported her extreme anxiety. Solita does not want MC to leave her alone, so MC informs Don Alejandro she has to renounce her job to be with Solita. This leaves Don Alefandro muy impactado.

The New

Somewhere in La Isla:
Toni runs into Teo who is surprised he is out and about so early. Toni reveals that working into the wee hours of the night at the Casino is not very agreeable to him. Teo wonders why he needs so much sleep (I wonder at the relevance of this scene).  Topic turns to Aracely and Teo gets upset. He will continue protecting her because he’s not going to let anyone disrespect Aracely!!

Moving on up:
Don Alejandro has all the answers. It’s simple he tells MC. You all can come and live in the big house.  With some convincing from Don Alejandro and Serafina (She warmed up to him quick. Was it not just a day or two ago she was telling MC to be wary of her patron) MC takes Don Alejandro’s offer. MC is overwhelmed, not only did she know he is a good person but he is also like a guardian angel. (The music takes an eerie turn when MC shakes hands with Alejandro. I find it very distracting as it makes me think something bad will happen….ok focus sorry!).

Serafina is happy for MC and tells her Don Alejandro really is a nice person. MC adds that Alejandro is her teacher and is trying to transform her into a Lady. Serafina jokes than soon she will not be able to recognize her (At the rate MC is going, Serfina will have to wait a looong time). MC turns serious and tells Serafina she does not want ANYONE knowing where she is (read: Oblivio). She does not want anyone to know Don Alejandro’s number either. They say their good byes and thank you and drive off to the big house. (There goes that music again).

PEAM #70-6/14/13:What Love Demands, the Bucket of Destiny Delivered! Did Alma and Chucho Get the Hint? Nah, Not So Much!

Happy Father's Day Y'all!

We start this epi with Patymelt trying to sneak into Rogue's place and Rogue is screaming and then he screams for Alma, who starts toward the stairs, sees the Patio door open, and goes and closes it and then goes upstairs. She never sees the Patymelt. Patymelt, outside, is very happy Alma didn't see her, but she stubbed her toe, and boy is it hurting.

Chucho puts Val to bed and she asks him how someone can stop loving another person. He tries to explain about divorce, etc and she says she loves her Papa Chucho, besos on cheekies.

Those bumbling Avon secruity guards are on patrol in the warehouse and come upon Ricardo, fast asleep with his teddy bear. Awww. They wake him up and want to know why he is sleeping in the warehouse. Ricardo explains about losing his place, all his stuff and how his friends couldn't put him up, and by the time he is done, he is sobbing along with the security guards. He is allowed to stay in the warehouse, and Ricardo grins behind that teddy bear.

Qué Bonito Amor #45 (Mex 67-68.1) Friday 6/14/13 The Long Lost Prince Charming Returns to His Sleeping Beauty

Cap 67-68 partial

Santos apparently cannot find his way out of the maze of a basement he’s found himself in. (Ask the rat that invited himself to your dinner last night. I’m sure he knows the way.) When JAntos hears voices he hides and, peeking around the corner of the wall, sees Giuliano El Gusano there.

Back at El Coloso’s apartment, Elvira asks Coloso (while Sr. Cock-a-doodle-do is enjoying the petting he’s getting) if El Col had had somebody get JAntos out of the way for him. He says that would’ve been a nice touch, but no such luck and anyway, he would rather do the deed himself, macho a macho.

Maria is getting sicker; her family worries and watches over her as she cries and frets in her sleep. Oscar pays a visit to Maria a bit later and Amalia allows him to sit by her bed. He confesses to Maria he’d dreamt of this moment—chatting with her in between the sheets--for years, but this is not exactly the way he’d imagined it. Maria innocently ignores him and moans that JA must be dead and that she wants to join him in the más allá [great beyond/afterlife]. He tries to convince her that she needs a man who won’t cause her so much grief and uncertainty. (No, she needs a jealous macho country loaf like you to drive her crazy instead.) But she tells him what she needs right now is a big brother. He’s okay with that until El Pochito shows up again.

JAntos is still lost in the maze when one of the thugs grabs him and ties him up again.

Back in El Lay, Derecho and Curtis’s captain demands convincing [contundente] proof and closure to the Santos Marinez de la Garza case ASAP. He gives them two weeks to close the case or it goes into the cold case files.

Justo admits to AltaGracia that Giulio is a mercenary of the worst kind cuz he killed his own cousin. Unfortunately, they have no tangible proof and cannot counter sue the S.O.B. What’s worse is that all the police have managed to do is to slow things down [entorpecer] and stall out.

Olmo loses patience with his hired goofs guns and threatens that if they don’t finish off JAntos immediately then one of them is going to get the axe—literally.

Regino and his own set of goons follow Mil Amores figuring that Fernando will eventually lead them to his runaway punching bag of a bride.

Team DnC visit Justo to tell him they think his son had Bruno offed. Justo tells him he hasn’t the proof but he knows it was Giuli since the guy confessed during a phone call. Derecho notes they saw him traveling to Mexico City and has a sudden bit of insight. “—Either it was Giuliano and he’s a murderer, or it was Santos and he hired him, or the two of them are in cahoots together!” If that’s the case, then Giuli the Gem’s going to Mexico means his son’s life could be in danger, warns Justo! Something has to be done to protect him! (Viewerville has a beanie moment as reality slips in. It struggles to believe Justo would ever trust a pair of keystone coppers like Team DnC with his only son’s life.)

Mil goes to the Cyber Café and sends Altagracia an email that Santos has gone missing. While he’s there he surfs the news and sees the report on Bruno’s murder up in El Lay.

JAntos figures this is his last day on earth and thinks Olmo invited Giuliano down to watch the execution. He worries about Maria and what must be going through her head right now. “—Hopefully, with Fernando’s help she’ll overcome this pain and get on with her life.”

Amalia has a chat with Oscar about the cruelty of abandoning a child. He gets the message loud and clear. He asks isn’t it just as rotten of Gloria to have waited sixteen years to tell him he had a son? Amalia asks if he’d looked for her at all during this time. Sure, but her father sent her out of the country to separate the two of them and all the letters he wrote her were “bounced back” to him, he answers. Amalia suggests he get to know his kid. He’d be surprised the blessing he’d see as a parent sharing Rodri’s joys and sorrows or his little romances --not to mention many semi-adult tantrums….(Remind him to stock up on Just For Men. It’s designed with parenting in mind.) Oscar starts to consider the possibility…..

Mil runs into Rodrigo in the colonia and learns that Gloria’s gone for cancer treatments. He feels so alone, Rodri tells Fernando, especially with JAntos gone missing. Fer tries to convince Rodri that his daddy really is a melty marshmallow under all that burnt crust. Rodri refuses to have anything to do with him. Ok, says Fer. Well, for now you’ve got my friendly shoulder to lean on!

JAntos and Maria continue pining away for each other. Ruben’s goofy goons throw him into the SUV and head for the killing fields.

Fer doesn’t know he’s being watched when he gets a text from Roxy. (Viewerville wonders what the subtext is.)

Giuli and Ruben sign a business contract of some sort, but Giuli tells him that he needs 10 million deposited first before their business dealings can begin. Ruben isn’t the rube he appears to be to Giuli and asks why the pressure for so much cash up front. Giuli tells him he has lots of palms to grease [aceitar]. “--Ahmmme. I let you know when the money might be available.” Giuli doesn’t like the sound of that. Ruben decides he’ll have to think about it for a while and smiles broadly. (Viewerville quickly thinks of shark teeth now whenever Ruben grins.) Giuli plays it cool, but he’s not a happy camper. “—Sure. Take all the time you need. Sr. del Olmo.”

JAntos demands to speak with Giuliano to tell him he’s a coward and that if he’s planned this then it should be doing Giuli murdering him with his own hands! The goons tell him too bad, but they’re the ones who’ll be doing the honors, y punto. JAntos thinks his final farewell to Maria.

Back in El Lay, Wendy visits Michael in prison and confesses that Bruno was the guilty one after all. He snookered them both, she says. She asks in Bruno’s name to forgive him for having betrayed him. Michael hugs her and apparently does forgive all. (What a royal S.A.P.) She then tells him that she’s having Bruno’s baby. (Wendy may be a brat, but she’s nobody’s fool. With Mike free she has a ready-made daddy in the wings for Bronzo, Jr.)

Derecho phones his MC counterpart, Com. Malo, with a ‘tope sacret meesion.’ “--The other suspect we were following’s life is in danger. Keep an eye on Giuliano Rina.”

El Celoso and El Aventurero hop in the mariachimobile, driving to…somewhere. They nearly have an accident with Ruben’s goofy goons’ SUV. Col and the other driver get out and start screaming at each other about what backwater swamp they both learned to drive in, or some such. Santo’s hears El Col’s voice. He kicks at the door and begins yelling. Col hears the noise but has no idea what it could be. “—What have you got inside there? Mules?” Aventurero says he smells a rat and they threaten the others with calling the police. The other driver backs down and drives away. Col misses his chance to be the “heroe de la historia” for now but at least he decides it might be a good idea to take down the SUV’s license plate number. He keys it into his cell phone.

A few minutes later, Santos gets a chance to knock out the goon in the back seat with him, and to throw himself out of the SUV. He rolls into a huge garbage pile and loses consciousness. The two goons in the front realize he’s escaped and want to go back to pick him up but, there’s a patrol car up ahead. They freak and beat it.

Rodri and Mil join forces to first check around for JA and then they figure to stop by Ana’s place.

Wendy tells Mama about her good deed for the day and says she’s going to go visit Michael more often. Mama is muy pleased.

Comandante Malo and Officer Camel-o are tailing Giuli and Arny. They watch as Ruben and the others arrive together at the hotel. Mal and Cam ask for an introduction. Ruben greets the two and introduces them all. Afterwards, the comandante notes it’s a strange thing seeing their suspect and del Olmo hobnobbing there in Mexico City.

On the other side of town, Fernando notices that Roxy’s hubby, Regino’s, SUV is parked outside Ana’s apartment. He calls to warn her. Before she can get out, though, Regino and the boys invite themselves in and demand to know where Roxy has gone. They are destroying her apartment when Mil arrives and quickly drags her out. She and he manage to shut the door and lock Roxy’s hubby and goons in the apartment.

JAntos regains consciousness, uses a broken bottle neck to cut the wrist and leg ties, brushes himself off and finds a way back home. He’s a mess when Doña Pru and her sister greet him at the entrance to the colonia. They give him the rundown on Maria and her emotional breakdown once she found out he was missing. They suggest he get cleaned up before going over to see her now that he’s back. Otherwise he’ll upset and frighten her more than she already is.

Ana tells Fernando she’s had it up to her eyeballs and more with him and his little adventures. For all she cares he can take a flying leap at the moon! She storms off down the street and Fer feeds Rodri some senseless macho-babble about not needing to understand women, just needing love them…..

Outside on the steps to Maria’s apartment, Oscar tells the other mariachis that he owes his singing career to her. We get a musical flashback to the successful audition at Concho’s bar.

Amalia leaves a few more requests on the virgencita’s voice-mail. Seems she’s been a bit behind in answering lately.

The whole group is there waiting for Maria to give up the ghost when JAntos reappears, obviously a bit worse for wear, and enters her bedroom. He wakes her up with a kiss and words to the song “La Vida No Vale Nada Sin Ti” [Life’s Not Worth Living Without You].

v Back at the bar in the uptown hotel, Ruben says he’ll finalize the deals of the contract soon; Fabian adds they’ll see how the 10 million is spent; and then, continues Ruben, they’ll all travel to someplace full of gorgeous women. Fabian surprises everyone in the group saying he’s got a special surprise for them all.

Fer warns El Celoso off making a scene in Maria’s bedroom now and he reluctantly agrees. Actually everyone vanishes once they see that Maria realizes JAntos is back and at her bedside. She grabs his hand and caresses his bruised and cut face. “—I wanted to die. What have they done to you?” “—They tried separating me from you.” He admits he should probably never have fallen in love with her, but he couldn’t help it. From the first night they met he was in love. Ditto for her, she says. He rocked her world. “—Tell me now, who hurt you? Tell me who wanted to kill you?” Cara de how could she know de JAntos.

Qué Bonito Amor #44 (Mex 65.2-66) Thursday 6/13/13 Que Bonito Aburrimiento

At Casa Maria, Rodrigo and the Mariaettes say grace and have some pan dulce.  Note to self: find gluten-free version.  I miss conchas with coffee!

Colosso and Mirna go to bitch to Concho that JA didn't show up to rehearsal.  They convince Concho that JA is taking advantage of him. Concho wants to see JA whenever he shows up.

Wriggling rat.  Wriggling JA.

Elvira hasn't given up on JA.  She has a new plan, which she won't share with the redhead.  What.  Ever.

Maria's still worried about JA.  And still wearing that gorgeous red dress.  Note to self: get a job where dresses like that are required on a nightly basis.

JA writhes and complains that the porno music won't let him sleep.  He thinks maybe he deserves this, but come on, man…nobody deserves tacky porno music!  He FINALLY (it's been what a week and a half?) drops Maria's ring on the floor and tries to use it to cut the ropes from his hands.

Justo makes plans to meet with the "Procurador"  (Attorney General) and try to save his boy.

Amores Verdaderos #152 Thu 6/13/13 Royero Tried… But the Arriagas Are Not Impressed

* Lo refrito: Aníbal is doing the usual stuff – ruining the life of his family members in the name of love. He orders the detective Avellaneda to hide evidences from Adriana.

* Lo nuevo: said Adriana is spending the day with Scarf-Face, working on the script of the movie. The air is definitely sizzling around them. Adri is more beautiful than ever, and Jhoaaannn seems very interested in her. He knows the script was written by Vicky, and he’s bitching a little bit about that the first lover should’ve won instead of the bodyguard, but when Adriana says that the script might’ve hit a nerve, he quickly changes the topic.

Corazon Indomable #24 6-13-13 MariCruz 2.0 Takes Baby Steps (and Maybe Some Giant Steps) Toward Her Future

Previously
Don Alejandro says he will make MariCruz a great lady (un gran dama).  This brings to mind other celluloid makeovers, including Princess Diaries, My Fair Lady, Miss Congeniality, and Pretty Woman (for whatever that’s worth.)  MariCruz’ age and hair style seem similar to Princess Diaries [recapper’s opinion].    Scenes may be combined.

Down Home
Our action begins as Lucia composes a letter to Octavio (She probably attended two semesters at a prestigious university, where she majored in fashion design and minored in creative writing before dropping out to get married.) She explains that she’s writing instead of Miguel, that he’s busy with a heavy work load, that Tav shouldn’t be concerned for MC.  In fact, MC may be over him, etc. etc.; there’s no encouragement for a continued relationship. (If I missed details here, please fill in.) She tells him to take care and don’t do any crazy stuff.

PEAM# 69- 6/13/13- Number C-47902/X You are Not the Father!!! Number D-47902/X - You Are The Father and Ouch, Zip Up Slowly!!!!

From yesterday

We are at Valentina’s school with Vero salivating over Jesus and here comes Elias, bad mouthing Jesus.  Vero tells Elias to grow up and Jesus reminds everyone of the purpose of their visit, Valentina.

In Acapulco- Rogue gets his family jewels caught up in the zipper for a minute of good-bye pleasure, while Alma is waiting for him at the bar.  Thank you, Ms. Karma.  (Does this mean that Rogue was not wearing his boxers??) Rogue turns, as a red as a beet and stupid Paty doesn’t know what to do. He doesn’t want her help.  How about calling for a doctor????
Rogue calls Alma and he tells her that he needs her he had an accident.
 New business

At the school- the teacher understands that Val is undergoing a difficult time and she shows the family, her drawing of two adults fighting.  Elias.  Elias flips out (he needs a lobotomy) and Jesus tells him that Val wants to live with him because there is just too much fighting.  The teacher agrees that maybe Val should stay with Jesus for a spell.  Elias is uncontrollable and very unreasonable.  Their problems are affecting Val’s emotional development.

Back at the hotel, Alma is trying to help a screaming Rogue.  He wants Alma to return back to Monterrey.  He wants his own doctor.  Huh??? When you're in pain any doctor will do.  My head is hurting from the whining and screaming. It hurts if he moves, so stay still. Alma calls for an ambulance- finally!!!!!  There is blood everywhere!!!

Panfilo tries to gives Marisela some fatherly advice about Elias.  Panfilo is worried about the age difference, he is under 40.  Elias is married and married couples fight.  He doesn’t want Marisela to get hurt.

St. Ferny is thinking about Discua.  Alex, the escort gives up. Ferny wondering if she is hot or cold in India.  What an idiot.  He checks the temperature on the intent.

Rogue’s little jewels are wrapped up against infection.  It looks like he is wearing a diaper.  Hmmmm- Karma!!!!
Elias speaks to Val- the only mature person and tells Elias that she loves him and hopes that he is not angry with her.  Vero in her neon green skirt that matches her cell phone handle. Jesus reminds her that Elias is a good man who doesn’t deserve this.

Corazón Indomable #23, 6/12/13: Alejandro Plays Daddy Warbucks to Little Orphan Mari

Recapper Ellie is sick, so this is just a brief bullet points recap from my memory.

- Maricruz and Alejandro get along like old friends. He is welcoming and kind to her. She is free to be her outspoken, lighthearted self with him and he loves it. There is something about her eyes that reminds him of someone…hmmm, could it be his long-disappeared WIFE who looked EXACTLY like Maricruz?! Nah!
- Maricruz chooses not to share much of her tragic story with Alejandro. He does learn her age (19), that she has recently arrived from the country with her deaf-mute little sister, had a grandfather who passed away, that she and her sister live in a boarding house, that she has few clothes, and that, although she’s full of enthusiasm, she doesn’t know squat about cleaning a big fancy house. In a funny scene, Don Alejandro, rich casino owner, takes a duster and shows Maricruz the proper technique for dusting, while hoping she doesn’t break one of the expensive vases she is so causally tossing about.
- Maricruz must sleep at the big house (in a very nice room) during the work week, and plans to spend her weekends in the boarding house. There might have been an offer from Alejandro for her sister to also stay in the house, but I’m fuzzy on this. The older housekeeper/cook is very nice to Maricruz.
- During Maricruz’s first day and night away, Solita falls into a deep depression. Neither Sarafina with her hugs and offers of food, nor Moctavio/Monito with his monkey caresses, can cure her blues.
- Sarafina tells Octavio about her lovely new guest Maricruz and her sister. Octavio is struck by the name, but has no clue it’s HIS Maricruz. Since they are both young and alone, she thinks they should meet. (Sarafina the matchmaker.) Sarafina also suspects that the poor girl is pregnant. Somehow she picked up on this, although MC is in no way showing. Octavio says he’d like to meet her, but not for any romance. He’s only got one lady on his mind.
- Ed convinces Octavio to take some R&R and accompany him to Isla Dorada, land of casinos (including Alejandro’s) and beautiful women. Octavio is hesitant. He’s saving all his pesos to send to MC, after all. And he doesn’t want to fall into gambling debt, like he did last time. Uh oh!

Amores Verdaderos #151 Wed 6/12/13 A total eclipse of the heart

*Balzac hid under Jean Marie's bed during the entirety of this troubling episode.  He threatens to stay there until Estéfano comes back from Switzerland.

Will Baby Mia beat the odds with the help of the Best Pediatric Heart Surgeon in Mexico?  It's hard to say.  But for the bad hearts that beat within Aníbal Balvanera and Kendra Ferretti, there is no human cure.

Nikki is from Venus, Bratiana is from Uranus
Even though Nikki is totally on board with her super Mami's romance with Super Superman, she and Superman's daughter are from different planets.  And Lili is still running after Guzmancito.  Arriaga assures Nikki that Lili will stay away from Guzmancito … er … Guzmán.  Nikki is not convinced.  [Neither are we.]

Arriaga and the Ikki's leave for the hospital to see Nelson Brizz and his fragile newborn.

PEAM #68-6/12/13: It's Official! In Avon, Nobody Does What Love Commands!

''We might not look perfect for each other
You are flying so high and I am starting to fly
But we are both human beings
and of course we can dream
I was dreaming of you
as my ideal partner
And against what the world could think about us
Today you and me are one
and we will be like this forever!
Because when love is true, age, class, race or economic level
whatever everybody says it doesn't matter,
What really matters is that we love each other with sincerity
Remember that in the heart, as in our bedroom
"Only love commands"!

Me? Secretary? Never!

Well... that's the second opening theme for the TN and for the looks of it, seems like Osorio told the musicians to make a good song to reflect the spirit of the story and then told the writers to write the absolute completely opposite. Who would have thunk it?

This is what they wrote:

Rogelio and Alma speak on the phone, blah, blah, blah...
Alma and her father talk, blah, blah, blah...
Elías and Verónica yell at each other, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH...
Jesús talks to Valentina, mi princesa this blah, blah, blah, mi princesa that blah, blah, blah...

Amores Verdaderos #150 Tue 6/11/13 Finally, a glimpse of a shirtless Salsa-Dude

Amores Verdaderos Cap 150—6-11-13—Finally, a glimpse of a shirtless Salsa-Dude

You can tell that my priorities are all screwed up. Or not. I admit that Salsa is my guilty pleasure.

And he doesn't look that bad! I had always assumed he had a Jorge Salinas body (my fave actor, but best seen with a shirt on) but I guess I was wrong!

PUT A FORK IN IT, THE RECAP IS DONE!

Not listed in order; scenes are consolidated for my sanity.

* We do a refrito of The Little Ape and Nikki all happy happy happy in his bed, talking about B.S. Pillow fight.

* Now that Carlos has been kindly given the heave-ho by Vikki, he apparently is deciding to explore the obvious chemistry he has with Adri. He tries to plant another smooch on her, but she's not going for it. She says that she just wants their relationship to be professional. She would feel wrong doing this to Vicki. (Why doesn't Carlos clear the air there? Maybe because it makes him look like he has the attention span of a hummingbird or something?) Anyway, Carlos plays the "you're a woman, I'm a man" card, but it doesn't work. Adri leaves. It doesn't look like Carlos is quite ready to give up, though.

Adri worries about her sister's feelings regarding Carlos. She needn't have bothered.

Carlos accepts this. For now . . .

* Beatriz and Salsa-Dude are alone at her place, happy happy happy once again. They talk about various things, including how Salsa-Dude has a genuine affection for Guillo now. (He admits that at first he was trying to make good with the kid to get in good with the mom. Which is pretty much standard procedure.) And, they talk about how now that Leo the Low is moldering in the ground, the boda is ON! He tells her he never took off the engagement ring. She shows him that she wore his ring around her neck on a necklace. She unstrings the ring and asks him to put it on her finger. He does so. Besos and hugs.

Happy happy happy, joy joy joy. Is that an anvil I see poised over Salsa-Dude's head?

CI #22: Maricruz’s Life in the Big City Begins and the Fickle Finger of Fate After a Few False Starts Finally Gets It Right

Cap 22

Lo del Pasado:

Maricruz and Solita have left for Mexico City in order to escape the hopeless poverty and prejudice of her pueblo and possibly to find her daddy.  With both Octavio and Mari permanently out of the picture, Lucia has easily talked Miguel into pocketing the cash from Octavio’s money order rather than returning it.  Tav’ll never know because Luciafer (thanks, Cathyx!) has made Miguel agree to never mention a word of this to his brother.

Lo Del Nuevo:

Maricruz, still clinging to her Abuelo Ramiro’s box of ashes, and Solita arrive in the D.F.   Just outside the entrance to the bus terminal she gets a hint of the heat those cement city sidewalks can give off  and she finally succumbs to purchasing a couple pair of one-size fit all sandals for her and Solita.  (Whew!  That’s a load off Viewerville’s mind!)  They jump in the first cab available and head for police comandante’s comadre’s boarding house that he told her about.  Just so happens that this is the same boarding house that Eduardo found for Tav to stay in. (Duhn-duhn-duhnn!)  Tav has been checking on his mail and ducked out for a breath of fresh air.  He walks back inside just before Mari and Solita’s cabbie pulls up to the curb.

Mari doesn’t know how to count change, she tells the cabbie, but that’s okay cuz the cabbie is as honest as the day is long.  He takes a choice bill out of the handful she’s given him and returns the rest.

PEAM, Tuesday 6/11/13 (#67): One Flew East, One Flew West...

...and one crash-landed in the cuckoo's nest and the cuckoo took a picture!

(Real mental illness is no laughing matter, but TV mental illness is another thing entirely.)

In Acapulco, an eager young photographer spots the famous Rogelio Rivadeneira with someone who isn't the equally famous Alma Montemayor. He discreetly snaps plenty of photos.

Rogue wants to talk about Paty's sticky fingers habit. She denies having a problem and teases him for seeming concerned, as if he really loves her. He insists that he is only trying to avoid getting involved in a scandal. Paty gets annoyed and silences him with kisses and groping. The unnoticed photographer gets lots of incriminating footage, while our dastardly duo is too busy smacking lips to hear the loud camera noises coming from behind a nearby shrub.

Back in Monterrey, Alma frets and stresses over a financial report she's supposed to send to Pancho, Pancho Lopez in Toluca. The numbers aren't balancing. She steps out of her office just in time to see Vero laying a heavy kiss on Chucho in front of all the secretarias.

In accordance with telenovela custom, Alma fails to notice that Chucho is barely tolerating the kiss. She demands to see him in her office right away. Too bad if Marta's waiting for him! She can wait longer!

Marta is actually not waiting for Chucho. She's having a heated debate with herself, or more likely her alter-ego, like sort of a Gollum/Smeagol thing, in the restroom mirror. She's telling herself she can't let that lil' chippie Maricela take away the man she loves. She can't make a fool of herself like she did with Isaac. She MADE Isaac use, abuse, or rape her (captions couldn't agree whether it was usar or abusar). But she LOVED him! No, she PROVOKED him! She MADE him do it! At any rate, she's got Elias now and she'd better not lose him to that little idiot.

Jessica enters the restroom and hears enough of this to be concerned. She asks Marta if she's feeling okay. "Couldn't be better," Marta replies. (Cuckoo!) She recognizes Jess as the singer from the New Year's Eve party, explains about the company's "program," and asks if Jess has time for her interview now. Jess agrees. As they exit the restroom, Marta seems to flick a nervous glance towards Jess. Jess looks very worried as she follows Marta out.

  • Oscar grouses about having to have the DNA test
  • Jairo tells Oscar it's time he gave up on Maria
  • Derecho, Curtis, and their Mexican colleagues go to another restaurant to pig out [zzzzz]

  • Rodrigo worries about Gloria.  Jorge Alfredo tries to reassure him.
  • Jorge Alfredo confronts Ruben in his office, telling him that if it's war he wants, he'll get it.  [Even Jorge Alfredo isn't immune from foolish macho posturing]; Ruben is still determined to get the better of him

  • Bruno and Wendy meet in El Lay; Bruno is shot
  • Jorge Alfredo is kidnapped and taken into the same black van that belongs to Roxana's husband.

CI: Episode #21, Monday, June 10, 2013 – MC, Solita and their Monkey Leave “Ranch Hell” and Head for the Big City, But Not Before MC Promises Sweet Vengeance!!!!!

Corazon Indomable, Episode #21, Monday, June 10, 2013 –
MC, Solita and their Monkey Leave “Ranch Hell” and Head for the Big City, But Not Before MC Promises Sweet Vengeance!!!!!

(Note:  some scenes are combined)

Santa breaks the news to MC that grandpa has died.  MC sobs and asks if he died from sadness.  Maria and Santa explain that the shack caught fire and grandpa couldn’t get out.  MC asks where Solita is, if she died too.  Her friends tell her they didn’t find Solita among the burned ruins, but don’t know where she is, and she probably got scared and ran away.  MC says Solita would never have left grandpa alone to burn.  She begs to be let out so she can go look for her.

Miguel tells Lucia that Ofelia mentioned the P.I. and he asks what he wanted; Lucia says the P.I. was hired by a rich client to search for a man named Ramiro and a young girl named Maria Alejandra Mendoza, that she thought of mentioning Don Ramiro and his death but felt it would be “in bad taste” – as if bad taste ever stopped Luciafer from doing anything.  Miguel asks if it could have anything to do with MC, but Lucia says no, nothing.

A trooper makes Maria, Santa and JA go away.  MC begs them not to leave, then yells that it’s all Lucia’s fault, that she is an evil woman.  She screams that she hates the whole world, all those who were evil towards her, and especially “Octavio, that one before anyone else.  He’s guilty too, and I would kill him before anyone else because I hate him.  I hate him with all my heart.”

Miguel tells Lucia that he already gave inspector Suarez the document they both signed dropping any charges against MC and also some money for MC, just as Lucia suggested……Later, Lucia says to herself that they will have to go over her dead body before she will accept any culpability.  (Any takers to do the honors???)  Then she remembers that she “always” heard that MC was the daughter of a rich man who abandoned the mother.  (Really, is that why she always called her basura?)  She wonders why the different name, but is glad that she misled the detective.

Amores Verdaderos #149 Mon 6/10/13 seems there was a ' lovey dovey' serum special on CVS... three couples? must be a record!!

Here is a rough draft, will edit tomorrow when re-watch. sorry, my mom's AC is having trouble so will start the day at her place waiting for tech to come fix it.

Refrito: Carlos with his emotional and tearful ‘if you love something set it free…’ speech.
Roy and Lilli… Roy tells it to Lilli like it is, not my fault Guzmi don’t love you. But I will get you to love me.

Guzmi and Nikki : she wants them to go away together to be alone, he says wish I could but there are too many things going on. He wants to give her a more comfortable lifestyle. They also have to consider her family’s reaction. What will they say about you trading Roy P for a nobody like me. Nikki only cares about her love for him, can’t live without u. SMOOOOO ching…

Back to the ones ‘left stranded’ Roy and Lilli. He is so regretful of not having been brave enough to walk out of marrying Nikki. Lilli reminds him her dad has Roy on his ‘most wanted’ list for hurting her. Roy still wants a chance to prove his true feelings for her. She still pushes away. He wants her to admit she has no chance in heck with Frankie. She will try to forget Frankie but will focus all her energy in work. No time for a loser like u. He begs on his knees, to no avail. (a Romeo and Juliet scene gone all wrong, I would say)

JA is surveying the surroundings, reporting on radio ‘Its 10 pm and all is weeeell!!!! … well, spoke a bit soon, Roy Toy is coming out and JA spots him, takes him as his physical defense practice bag…

At hospital, little Briss princess II is born… there were no complications in birth. Dances congratulates Nil-Brains-Guts. Nil-Brains is worried KenDrat will use this baby to pressure him some more.

Want to prove to all of you I truly love Lilli. Will do it with or without your permission. JA lets him go. JA thinks…( maybe was a bit hard on the young punchbag ?... have to replay this minute to make sure).

JA goes to little greenhouse to confront Lilli. Lilli could care less if Roy divorces. Don’t want any part of him. Love was not made for me. She slips about the greenhouse Anyballs bought for her. JA thinks it is way too much, was a stretch the classes she took paid by Anyballs, the greenhouse is too much. Neither any gifts from Ms Vicky.

Back to the lovebirds on living room floor… a bit of lovey dovey talk… exchange promises, he wants to give her luxury, she says had luxury all my life but was not happy. All I need to be happy is your love. And have that already. Lovely embrace.

PEAM #66, 06/10/13 - The Office Goes Into Counseling Mode

Chatita and Xochi(calco) discuss why Chatita is in the offices of Avon, finally she remembers that she came to see Alma.  Maricela and Marta spar through the entire professional interview, neither with the corner on professionalism or maturity.  Maricela stops out into the office and tells Susana how annoyingly that Elias grabbing psychologist is getting under her skin.  Susana is a bit worried that she was so brash in an employee interview (Marta is the one making notes on behavior by the way).

Elias is furious when he reads the demands in the divorce papers.

Alma wants to know why Chatita is there, does she need money, a loan. Noooooo, says Chatita but how lovely of you to ask.

Next interview is victim Xochi.  Marta wants to know what else Xochi wants from her job, to progress? Yes but Xochi admits that her block is probably her own personality.  In a parallel universe Julio is carrying on about how wonderful Xochi's personality is, her best quality.  The sillies tease him thoroughly, but good naturedly.

Chatita now interviews Alma it would seem.  Alma confesses that everything is spinning out of control.  Chatita tells Alma she may not be in love it might must be habit (costumbre).  Alma maintains that when one feel confusion it is necessary to act decisively so the confusion will disappear. Alma begins to talk about what if she cancelled her marriage to Rogelio and decided to marry Jesus, (no one but Chatita can bring the truth out of people with such clarity) everything would be more of a mess.  Chatita says it's like one dog with two tortas  (?? Pablo help, I didn't catch this phrase but it was a Chatita special).(!!Thanks to Audrey, see her comment to get the story of a dog with two tortas)

Porque al Amor Manda #65: How Many Love Triangles Does It Take to Make a Big Fat Mess?

Vivian, the most bumptious divorce lawyer in Mexico, visits Vero at home. After Viv nearly chokes to death on some kind of canary grass juice, semi-enlightened Vero sends Minerva to make real coffee and they get down to business. Vero says she wants a divorce, she wants Eli out of the house, and she wants to legally establish Jesus as Valentina's biological father. Viv tells her that these are three different things, and they need to take them in order: PRIMERO, EL DIVORCIO! I swear if she had castanets she'd be snapping them. That girl really, really enjoys her work.

Back at Avon, Alma needs to ask Jesus a very important question, you know, just as friends: why did he kiss Vero? Oh never mind, it's none of my business. Forget it. You're asking me to forget an awful lot of things these days, Jesus replies, giving her Facial Expression #5: Stern and Significant. Where is that look when random chicks are kissing on him? He has all the software, but there seems to be an upload problem.Read more »

Qué Bonito Amor #40 (Mex 59.2-60) Friday 6/7/13 The Jig Is Up

capítulo 59-60 partial

Bruno jumps into a cab and somehow manages to lose the police.

Regino tells his gun apes he wants Fernando, aka Mil Amores, dead.

Roxana and Fernando escape in disguises—well, Mil Amores is disguised.  Roxy has put on the telltale scarf and ginormous “Notice Me!!” movie star glasses.  They discuss moving in together and marriage.  Mil says whoa there, Nellie!  Let’s just move in together first and see how well we settle in.

Amalia delivers her bad news regarding JAntos to the other blue-haired bon-bons del barrio.  They find it hard to believe that JAntos could be such a rapscallion.  It worries Amalia so much that she’s having “mysterious” heart palpitations and pains shooting down her arm.  She asks the old gals to stay mum about it to avoid her daughters worrying about it.

Bruno is hold-yer-nose impactada once he gets a load of the squalid colonia and the conditions his one-time BFF now lives in.  And, he is shocked, shocked, shocked to find out that Santos has been forced to earn his living as a fifth-rate mariachi and to live in a stinking barrio in an efficiency that doesn’t even have its own bathroom.  Thanks to Bruno’s treachery this is what his life has become.  Why does he stay here asks the squinty-eyed,  scrunch-nosed,  ass-cotted Bronzo?  Because of his girlfriend.  She’s his guardian angel.

Corazón Indomable Fri. June 7 Don Ramiro Se Murió

A wailing siren announces the arrival to the rural jail of a dangerous criminal shackled in the bed of a police pickup truck closely guarded by three heavily armed officers sporting Tevlar vests. It's... Maricruz?

Yes, she's been arrested on trumped up charges of the theft of a very valuable necklace. The police chief scolds her as she is helped to the ground, "You are a disgrace to your grandfather don Ramiro who has always been an honorable man."  He does not buy for a single moment her ridiculous story that it was a gift from doña Lucía who had compelled Maricruz to retrieve it from a mud puddle. (Well, when you put it that way, it does sound a bit far-fetched.) He orders the strapping young policemen (no pretty police women?) to escort her inside the fragile looking mint green police shed.

Meanwhile, it looks like Octavio has made a few bucks and is sending a money order along with a note for Miguel to get things started on Maricruz's little house he promised. He writes.

Maricruz is peering out through the back bars of her cell. (Hey, at least she got a room with a view.) In black and white (so we'll know this has already happened) Maricruz recalls the events leading up to her incarceration. That "I was screwed" look of realization creeps across her face as she slowly sinks to floor of her cell and cries out to no one in particular, "I didn't steal nothin'!"

Weekend Discussion: The Cost of Novela Living

We often hear money being talked about and wonder what things really cost in Mexico for the characters we love, hate, and debate about.  Lo and behold, a website called Nubeo provides this information.  Another one called World Salaries gives average salaries in a number of countries, although it doesn't provide as full a list for Mexico as for the US.

Amores Verdaderos #147 Thu 6/6/13 The Snails are Silenced, but Collars have Spoken

UltraBelle Photo Shoot:  While Nelson grips her hand, the doctor listens to Nabila’s slowing heart beats.  Finally, the doctor removes the stethoscope.  She's gone, he says.  I’ve done all that I could do except for performing chest compressions, maybe giving her CPR, perhaps giving her an allergy shot or checking her throat for obvious obstructions.  Other than that, I’ve done everything that I possibly could do. OK, maybe I could have called a doctor that cared, but other than that, I did most of what I could have done.  Nelson is stunned.  Well, at least she died looking fabulous in a Valentino gown.

Greenhouse:  Anibal has brought Candy and Lilly to visit a greenhouse approximately the size of an airplane hangar.  Sour Candy looks very bitter.  She doesn’t mind if Lilly works there, but she doesn’t agree that she should accept such an extravagant gift.  Lilly agrees with her grandmother and tells Anibal that she can’t take it.  Arriaga wouldn’t understand, she says.

Qué Bonito Amor #39 (Mex 58-59.1) Thursday 6/6/13 Que Bonita Protectora es La Virgen

The cops recognize the mariachis from their previous trip to the bar.  They're celebrating the birthday of their lady cop, so Colosso dances with her as they sing Las Mañanitas.  JA seems grumpy and doesn't join in.  Fernando shoves him out the door while they're all distracted, then insists on reciting some poetry for the lady cop before they share her birthday cake.  He simultaneously keeps some of the other cops from looking in the direction of JA…who didn't take off as Fernando suggested.  He swipes JA's "Wanted" flyer from a cop's desk and uses his wiles to keep the party going.

They were apparently released, as Fernando and JA are back at Fernando's place.  JA is pouty, saying he's going to get busted eventually.  JA fills Fernando in on what Bruno told him.  Fernando thinks it's crappy of Bruno to have come all that way just to tell JA to his face what they'd done to him.

Elvira shows up at Colosso's for a booty call.  Oh, no, wait, she wants him to convince Maria to go back to work at the bar.  She doesn't want to have to keep pulling waitress duty.  "I wasn't born to serve!  I was born to be served!"  Hey, no prob, says Colosso, just get down on your knees and beg her forgiveness.  Oh, that's so no going to happen!  Colosso says she looks great in her waitress uniform…and asks her to bring him a tequila.  He gets slapped for it.

Corazon Indomable #19 6-6-13 “Smiling faces sometimes pretend to be your friend . . . Smiling faces show no traces of the evil that lurks within . . . Smiling faces, smiling faces sometimes . . . They don’t tell the truth”

We have flashbacks of the three last scenes of the previous night:  Areceli and Teobaldo outside his home; Octavio, Eduardo and two flight attendants flirting in the café; Luciafer (thanks, Cathyx) tempting Maricruz on the edge of the cactus field.
Anyone hoping for a Don Alejandro scene is doomed to disappointment—he’s a no show this episode. (Remember, he does need to get some rest.) Our action is mostly centered on MariCruz and her idol, Octavio.  She’s the victim of an elaborate scheme by Luciafer to eliminate the “basura” from their lives.  Octavio is the victim of his MC memories, assuming that she is protected by his kin while he’s the only one suffering. (He couldn’t be more wrong and he deserves to suffer.)

PEAM #64, 06/06/13 – A Kiss is Just a Kiss, A Sigh is Just a Sigh? Really? I Don’t Think So!

Good evening, I am filling in for Tablet Jefa who is off on a secret mission (not really, I am just creating a little drama in my life of entertainment for two bored poodles and forest fire vigilance) so I am here to post a recap:

Elias tells Maricela that the rich bitch is indeed one of the richest of the country.  Maricela rightly is not impressed with the woman's rudeness and lack of class.

Pati continues her broken heart drama in front of Alma and Rogue but asks Rogue to walk her down to her car to protect her.  They fight in the hallway and after she slaps him he pulls his fist back to everyone's shock but his usual lack of control slips and he stops just in time. She can't believe he is going through with the wedding to her best friend when she knows he loves her.  We know it too.

Baby Valentina plays right into Vero's fantasy as she tells papa Jesús that the princess in the fable they are constructing together is named Veronica. Vero gives us a rare ear to ear smile behind the door.

Cardenas and Ricardo talk about the end of year party and how he should use the opportunity to negotiate for his positon.

Elias tells Maricela that his latest complication is that Valentina's therapist is fatally attracted, I mean hopelessly in love with him. Maricela understands how he is such a bon-bon and uses the moment to get into a passionate kiss with him but it is interrupted by our omnipresent Chatita.

Corazon Indomable #18 From Rags to Maxi dresses

You’ll have to excuse me today, I am nursing the biggest hangover from the ‘Basura’ game yesterday. I stopped counting after 20. I’m not sure if I’m sober yet, and I have a pounding headache. Also, no cc’s this time, my recorder didn’t record. Stoopid recorder. So help me out in the comments for what I missed or got wrong. I’ll try to correct it later.

Lucia is showing MC a pile of jewelry. MC is rightfully suspicious, but Lucy promises not to snatch away that football from Charlie Brown. This time she means it. She feels bad that Octavio left her, and she wants to help. Really. She will send the jewelry to the kitchen where MC can get it. Lucia continues to talk to Ester about the plans to get rid of MC once and for all, get her to trust her before she pulls that football away for the final time, and oh no, here we go again. Another basura. Salud! I’m going to need some serious intervention when this TN is over. So Charlie Brown goes into the kitchen once again naívely believing Lucy will hold the ball until Charlie’s foot makes contact. MC gets the bags and starts to look through them. Santa is watching and worries enough for the two of them. Santa doesn’t trust Lucy. She’s seen Lucy snatch that ball away every single time Charlie tries to kick it. But Charlie is certain this time will be different. (I hope everyone gets the Charlie Brown/Lucy analogy, because this makes perfect sense to me in my major hangover head.)

Amores Verdaderos #146 Wed 6/5/13 A Perfect Day for Love, A Perfect Day for Murder

In which:
  • Victoria and Arriaga exchange vows of love and then fret over how to tell the kids.
  • Lili keeps pestering Guzmán and rejecting Roy
  • Bea and Guillo are reunited
  • Aníbal pays Lili for her silence and in doing so, antagonizes Candelaria.
  • Nabila's life proves nasty, brutish and short

Idyll in Cuernavaca
Nelson is gone and Victoria is uneasy about what he might do next.  Arriaga tells her they can think about the outside world tomorrow. This is their first night together.  They kiss.  Awww.

The Kitchen of the Balvanera Mansion
Liliana turns a deaf ear to Roy, insisting that she only has eyes for her Frankie.  Maybe she and Roy had something at one time but he ruined it with his lies.  For his part, Roy can't believe she's rejecting him for a guy who doesn't love her.  Doesn't she get it that Guzmán and Nikki are in love with each other? (That is, they are both 10's.) He, Roy the Boy, is the one is love with her!  (That is, he and Lili are both 6's, maybe 7's.)

Qué Bonito Amor #38 (Mex 56.2-57) Wednesday 6/5/13 Jailhouse Mariachi Rock

Colosso and Jorge continue jabbing at each other in the dressing room as they get ready for tonight’s performance.  Colosso laments things aren't the same without his “chiquita”.

Meanwhile Maria and the Merry Wenches serenade a double-decker tourist bus with “Cielito Lindo”.  Who knew the Merry Wenches were so talented?  A guitar, a trumpet, a tambourine, and an accordion – and yet it sounds like a full mariachi ensemble.  Wow, such talent is wasted at JNTR!

At JNTR Elvira and Lourdes wait on tables as Colosso and Jalisco sing the JNTR theme song – “Jalisco”  Que lindo es Jalisco, palabra de honor.

Later at depa Mendoza, Paloma asks mamita for permission to work at Doña Magnolia's fonda.  She feels guilty that Maria is carrying the load for all of them.  The extra money would help to pay for Amalia's meds.

PEAM #63-6/5/13: Super-Jesus, Avon Police (And Counselor in His Spare Time)

Recap By Pablo

SuperJesús, whose superpower is his masculine intuition and his kryptonite is minding his own business, saved Fernando's life. He somehow knew something was wrong, followed Fernando to the street, not to the parking area, and with his super-sight, after turning his head to the sky, saw him about to jump the 400 foot building (really). He then ran up the stairs (did not use the elevator), made it in time, saved him and then scolded him for being a coward!! How about that?

Too bad his superpowers don't include being in more than one place at a time, and after that he went to talk to Julio about Xóchitl, otherwise, he could have saved Elías from Marta the therapist, whose hand and fingers ran all over Elías while she confessed her love for him. How did that happen? Well, through osmosis, or implanted memories, because all the love Verónica used to have for Elías, Marta was relating to and feeling the same for him. Of course, that happened BJ (before Jesús), when Elías was Verónica's everything, her life and her soulmate. How can someone avoid falling in love with a guy so great as Elías? The perfect father, husband, friend? The best thing about all this, now that Verónica has a different flavor of the month is that Elías could be 100% single pretty soon, and that is good news to Marta. My question is, and maybe the reason why Marta won't give therapy to Verónica anymore (she is afraid she could fall for Jesús with all this sweet talking about him lately), now that he has replaced Elías in Verónicas heart, house and mind, and picturing him as the ''new'' more perfect father, husband and friend. Would Marta also fall in love with him as she discovers all the qualities Verónica sees in him? Don't miss any deceiving previews, or you will miss the other half of the story, the one that exists only in the mind of whoever does the voice over in those previews... Don't say I didn't warn you...

Amores Verdaderos #145 Tue 6/4/13 Everyone declares love for everyone else. Except Nelson.

Amores Verdaderos Cap 145, 6-4-13—Everyone declares love for everyone else. Except Nelson.

Love on the Lawn—Big Angel and Vicki finally do it! (But they don't do "it" on the lawn. They just have a picnic and smooch there.)

SUMMARY, not in order, may be condensed to preserve my sanity.

* We have a refrito of Vicki and Big Angel doing their mating dance, wandering all over the estate in various positions and smooching. Finally they make it to the bedroom and disrobing commences. We start a love scene which we don't see in detail.

Love is in the air!

* Betty is doing better in the hospital. Meanwhile, Mr. Mezclo. (Can't remember his name—the homeless guy) is wringing his hands in guilt because he didn't try to reunite Guillo with his family sooner. He prays for forgiveness. Behind him, Paula and Felipe are talking in the waiting room about how they hope to locate Guillo soon—oblivious that Guzmancito has already found him! We cut to Guzman chatting with Guillo in his hospital room.

Poor guy, feeling worried and guilty.
