Qué Bonito Amor #25 (Mex 37-38.1) Friday 5/17/13 La Cucaracha’s Revenge or The Mexican Hat Dance Begins, Courtesy of Elvira
Sad Sack de Santos wasn’t able to serenade his way back into Maria’s life this time and got kicked off the balcony by Amalia to boot; La Vampira de Elvira has plans to deliver JAntos’ sombrero to its rightful owner, Maria’s mama, in order to get back at him for insulting and rejecting her at the party the night before.
Lo Del Nuevo:
[some things are condensed to keep down the confusión-ed.]
JAntos has no choice but to climb back down from the balcony. He walks back home, sad but hopeful. Maria, meantime, gets ready for class and thinks weepily, if not sleepily, back to her shock at seeing Elvira sitting on JAntos’s lap and remembers Coloso’s warning that JA isn’t the angel [pera en dulce] she thinks he is when he showed her the photo of JA and Elvira kissing in the car.
Back at Daniela’s apartment, Daniela and Pam are scandalized to see Elvira swapping spit with El Coloso after swearing she’s so interested in Jorge Alfredo. Oh, it’s just a casual thing, like Dani kissing El Baritono the night before, remember? Or was that so casual, asks vicious Vi? Dani swears it was and is. El Coloso and Vi give Dani a hard time about telling him it was her birthday party (not to mention the rest of an assorted variety of lies to all the boys, right guys and galls?
Santos checks in on Irasema, but she’s waiting for him already. She shows him the huge 4 foot bouquet of flowers from Sue and asks if he really knows what she does for a living? No. Well, she hates the thought of the poor guy feeling like a jerk when he finds out she’s really a hooker. Truth is, no man has ever given her a thing, let alone some flowers. Either he’s in love with her or she’s awakened some sort of overpowering sentiment in him now, she tells JAntos. Susanito’s the only man who has ever treated her decently in her entire life, she says pensively.
________________________________________
Sue, meanwhile, is making love to his mop while washing Mama’s floors and whistling while he works. Mama Mancia cannot imagine what’s come over her boy.
Irazema turns around and notices a certain sad look now in JAntos’s gaze and says she knows that look; that he and Maria have fought with each other and are on the outs. He has to admit that he’s been a fool. (Viewerville seconds that—not putting his foot down with Elvira, preferably on her throat.) Maria was angry enough to call it quits between them and he’s sure she means it—this time. If he loses her it would be losing the best thing in his life, he says mournfully. Ah, laments Irazema, we waste love completely with grudges and spitefulness [rencores]. No she’ll come back to him, assures Irazema.
Vi tells Coloso and the others that with what she’s got planned with JA’s forgotten sombrero, she’s going to put the final nail in the coffin of Maria and JAntos’s relationship. How? She’ll make sure that Maria finds out he left it with her after a night of supposed passion by giving it to Amalia directly.
At Maria’s, Amalia tries giving her lovelorn daughter some motherly advice. Either break it off completely with Jorge Alfredo or accept him as he is, warts (like Elvira) and all.
Meanwhile, Michael heads off to trial and naively proceeds to fall into the prosecuting attorney’s word trap while trying to put his and Santos’s friendship in a positive light. It wasn’t the $225,000 car apparently, but the $10 million they found in the trunk of it that Michael can’t explain properly. Michael and his lawyer look at each other like QTH? And, why didn’t you tell me/us? (Ever heard of full disclosure? I’d get the lawyer on lousy and inept representation and sue for a mistrial and a retrial so fast it would make his boss’s and the judge’s heads swim.) He’s given eight long years in prison for his loyalty.
After school that day, Rodrigo and Paloma go spend the rest of the day in the park together. Vanessa and her posse follow them and try to harass her. They show what jerks they are by purposely crashing their rubber canoe into Paloma’s and knocking her into the water. Rod jumps into the shallow pond and saves her. They do the same to Vanessa and her nasty little girlf’iends—only they have to save each other. FF>>
Maria tells her friends from the bar on their way to school that she does really believe JAntos’s story. Lety tells her that the third time’s the charm and to dump his beauteous but two-timing backside for good. (Thanks for nothin’, girlfriend.)
Santos heads over to Fernando for consolation and advice. JAntos is ready to turn himself into the authorities and who cares what they do with him. First thing, says Mil Amores, is to retrieve the sombrero. Second, is to stop the dramatics. Third, we suppose, is not to think that he’s all alone in this. Mil is his carnal, carnalito. “—Yeah, we are very good friends, but you don’t do anything to help me!” Ok, well first realize that that vamp Elvira’s got your number dude [tomar la medida=got you pegged] and she’s always getting the better of you, says Mil. No, argues Santos, I am chivalrous—to extremes like most tn gálans. [caballero=knight or chivalrous gentleman] Yeah, jokes Mil, and all you need is some armor! (Good one, dude! As in protection from Elvira, right? How about some garlic instead?) Santos doesn’t laugh. He’s reached his limit, he laments. “--Next time….no, there won’t be a next time! Cuz, I’m going to make her pay for everything she’s done.” Mil snickers in disbelief. Really? Ok, first thing is to get that hat back and then Mil will act as his witness to his good behavior at the party.
First stop, though, is to a computer site so he can catch up on Michael’s trial news. Santos thinks to himself that Michael has got to testify against him if he wants to save himself. He doesn’t care if the guy does condemn him. He wants his friend to go free.
A while later JAntos and Mil stop by Dani’s apartment asking for the sombrero. Pam explains that Vi took it home with her. She calls up Elvira who wants to speak to JA. JA naively takes her word that he’ll “have the hat back long before he needs it for his performance that night” at Daddy’s club. Mil and JAntos leave. Sucker!!! They start talking in the hall and figure Vi meant giving the hat to him at the boarding house. Ok, he’s going to get the hat back, so now what’s worrying him, asks Mil? JAntos says it’s what he read in the L.A. newspapers about his buddy’s trial. The problem is that Michael is the only one who can swear to the fact that it was Santos’s lawyer himself that advised him to flee the country and become a fugitive.
Gloria, meanwhile, is sitting in her bedroom brush her hair and sadly remembering her nasty encounter with the reluctant and irresponsible de Oscar the Goof. She prays to the virgencita to help her out of this fix so her son won’t be left without a parent if something happens to her now that she’s beginning her treatments.
Mil Amores tries getting JAntos to eat and forget his sorrows for a while. JAntos just wants to mope. His problem must be that it’s the first time he’s ever been in love, says Mil. JAntos is in a snitty mood and tells Mil that he’s only going to fall in love once in his life and that Bonita is that love of his life. The waitress overhears and remarks “¡Qué bonito amor!” (¡Salud!)
Maria can’t stop thinking of JAntos and Elvira intertwined on the couch the night before, either. Finally she gives up on her test and hands in what appears to be a blank test. (That’s right. Flunk out and punish yourself because of Elvira’s selfish mischief. Makes total sense to me….not!)
Back in the barrio, Sue hands El Aventurero a plastic bag with a surprise in it for his girlfriend. Aventurero thinks Sue’s just saying this so the guys in the band will stop giving him such a hard time. Nope! He says he really does have a girlfriend and he plans on inviting her to the bar that night! Well, ok then. Good for him, too, since the guys all thought he was more than a little bit light in the guaraches, adds Aventurero. No, swears Sue, she’s such a beauty it’ll knock their socks off and they’ll be eaten up with envy! El Aventurero has got to promise not to say a word to his mama, Mancia, though. Okidokie.
Mama Mancia, meanwhile, is giving a tarot reading for anxious Annie who feels something is truly wrong. She warns Annie that the cards say that if she is determined [empeñada] to follow this love of hers so blindly that her life will be in grave danger.
At the same time, Fernando is on the phone with Rosana whose whole face is now fully black and blue. She’s desperately begging for him to take advantage of her hubby’s leaving the house in order to get her out and hide her at his place—like hubby wouldn’t think of that first? He promises to come for her once hubby leaves. JAntos promises to help him with this. “--You have no idea how bad this brute beats her! He won’t do it again, though!”
Back in L.A., Guiliano and Bruno are enjoying a bit of unhappy
hour as El Gusano Ese pressures Bruno not to just live with Wendy, since that
way he doesn’t get to inherit her milliones de dollars. Bruno insists he’s not with Wendy for her
money. As it is he feels like is white
trash, aka, human debris. Don’t play
game with El Padrino! Marry her and get
hold of her millions. Bruno’s going to have to get that money (the ten
million?) back, cuz otherwise Wendy’s going for a one-way swim with the
fishes! (Ehhhhh! And?)
JAntos learns from the news that Michael’s been found guilty and
sentenced. He’s bummed. He and
Fernando get to the bar. Sue finds him
and hugs him. He tells him he’s so
grateful for letting him know love! The
barkeep, Pichi, misinterprets the meaning and hints to JAntos he now thinks
that JAntos apparently switch-hits, aka, is batting for both teams. JA teases and chases him in a supposed moment
of hilarity. JAntos is about to have a
swig when he sees Maria enter the bar for rehearsal; but she refuses to speak
to him. El Celoso de Coloso enters and
yells at him the obvious, that she doesn’t want to speak to him! “—Ok, boys!
We’ll rehearse and start with Si Nos Dejan…although it seems Elvira
won’t!” Guffaws break out around the
room from the Mariachis at JAntos’s expense.
Ruben walks into the bar just then, to ask Maria’s pardon
publicly, the same way she was humiliated at his house, and to pay his bill
for the serenade. He tells her this in
front of the band. It’s what you say
here but didn’t say there, adds JAntos. Fernando
seconds this from across the bar. She
accepts the apology politely enough, but the Mariachis refuse to accept his
dirty money from Mr. Fir Tree [abetas]—or is it “El Colmo” [thatch/the
brim/full to overflowing]—oh, yeah, Mr. Olmo [Elm], they snidely tease. “—Well,
aside from the lack of education and upbringing and such as your wife says, we
refuse your apologies and your check. Why don’t you deposit your ‘humaneness’
outside?” Col says it quite a bit
more roughly. “—So go back where you came from!” Ruben says he’ll handle things with the
administrator of the bar whatever accounts I have pending with you all…..(which
could be taken any number of ways, I suppose).
He leaves amongst the catcalls.
Col goes over to Maria and says take this as a lesson. A big wallet doesn’t bring happiness like
some people believe….like El Ponchito, say.
A bit later El Sonador is asking Mirna for an advance, but Mirna
refuses. He knows darned well that El
Concho doesn’t give out advances. But
it’s for some old lady friend he tries to help out. Tough tootsies! Lourdes overhears and walks into the office
especially to interrupt her and pull rank.
“—Give him the advance, Mirnita!
Remember this bar is as much mine as his.” Mirna swallows the hiss and with a fake
smile, the fir on her back sky high, says,”--Yes, Sra.” She then asks Mirna
where JAntos lives; she gets the directions and says she’ll be back later. She stops a moment by the door and smiles
snootily. “—Get used to me being here
more often. I have to look out for my
investments.” El Soñador finds Lourdes
in the hall and makes a special effort to thank her afterwards. No problem.
Besides, there aren’t enough caring men in the world who’d do something
like that, she tells him.
Lety and El Aventurero meet up in the hallway. He tells her how pretty she looks today. She lowers her eyes, embarrassed and thanks
him. He raises her chin so she has to
look him in the eyes. He swallows hard,
obviously fighting the mounds of fluttering butterflies in his stomach. “—Don’t
lower your gaze. Don’t ever lower your
gaze.” Wow! Who knew?
That evening JAntos is dressed and ready to go, but still no
sombrero. There’s a knock on his front door. “—About time, Elvira!!” It’s Mama Lourdes there
instead, looking like the Big Bad Wolf in drag.
“—Well! As long as it’s Elvira,
right?”
Back at the bar, Mirna’s
having a hard time getting El Concho to give in to her (supposedly) seductive
kisses. She asks what’s wrong. He tells her they’ve got to end their
relationship. Cara de what the effing heck did you say de Mirna.
Back at JAntos’s place, JAntos tries to politely explain why he
thought it was Elvira at the door, but Lourdes won’t listen. She says she warned him to steer clear of her
daughter, but he insisted the rapist, abusive, poor-as-a-church-mouse
slob! He finally loses patience and
yells back that he won’t permit her to insult him in his own house! She slaps the crap outta him and then accuses
him of trying to climb out of poverty by any means he can, and that apparently
includes getting involved with her daughter, right? “—What’s your price, Vargas? I know all about playboys like you. How much do you want to forget about my
daughter and leave me in peace?” (Hell,
take the money and run, buddy boy!)
Across the street in Maria’s colonia, Elvira knocks on Amalia’s
front door. When Amalia opens it she
walks in with JA’s sombrero. She says he
left in in her friend’s apartment after being so overjoyed and excited at
seeing her there that he up and forgot it. Cara de yeah- so-why-bring-it-to-my-house-instead-of-the-bar-you-stoooooopid-scheming-wench-de
Amalia. Just at that moment who should
appear but la pobre de Maria del Bar-y-Oh!

Corazon Indomable, #5 Friday, 05/17/13 A wedding, a wedding reception, a wedding night…But where is the diamond?
Yesterday Octavio and Maricruz became
novios and kissed in front of the village gossips (que escandalo!); Octavio
asked Abuelo for Mari’s hand in matrimony; Lucia found out she is pregnant, but
the poor baby needs to fight for its life because mom is on the verge of a
stroke when she finds out who her SIL will be…
Today…
Outside the hut Solita is helping Maricruz wash her
hands as Abuelo notices that a while ago Mari didn’t care that much about being
clean. Then he asks her what she’s planning to wear for her wedding. With
Moctavio on her shoulders (yey!), Maricruz says that she’ll borrow a neighbor’s
daughter quinceanera dress. Abuelo is a little worried because tradition
says the father of the bride has to buy the dress, but Maricruz reassures him
that Octavio won’t mind, since he knows they don’t have money.

Porque el Amor Manda #50: A Bumpy Ride on the Love Train
Decoration Station
Chatita chides Alma and Jesús: Hey, are we workin' or flirtin'? Your butterflies look like turkeys and bats! Hijinks ensue as they dash around painting little cartoons on each other's smocks. This appears to be the home improvement version of the Food Fight -- you know how the couple isn't really in love until they've made a big mess someone else has to clean up. There isn't usually an Alzheimer's patient involved, but hey, modern times.
Lamentation Station
Xoch is crying a river in her apartment, and so is her Mom -- over a telenovela. She tells her real daughter to keep quiet; she can't hear her imaginary friends. After a fraught phone call, Marisela whisks her friend off to Ricardo's apartment, where the Avon gang has gathered for a sympathy intervention. Even the three sillies are moderately inoffensive, and Julio (of the orange tie and swiveling hips) is absolutely effusive. It seems as if he could have made a play for Xochi any time, but apparently the runny nose and blotchy skin have rendered her particularly attractive. There's a lot of all for one and one for all talk. Xochi wails.

Weekend Discussion: Las Mascotas; Animals in Telenovelas
We don't get enough animals in telenovelas that are characters. We saw many prize bulls
[Salud!] in
Amor Bravio, horses in others, but rarely do these animals have names or enough screen time. Animals are such big parts of many of our lives it's hard to believe that more novela characters don't have pets. The mascotas in novelas, though, are often amusing and endearing.
In
El Cuerpo del Deseo, the hero had a dog who was smart enough to spot his master after his spirit changed bodies (Dog may actually be star Mario Cimarro's dog):
Cuando Me Enamoro had a beautiful horse named Gitana that was much beloved by the heroine:

Qué Bonito Amor #24 (Mex 35.2-36) Thursday 5/16/13 Que Bonita Fiesta…not!
JAntos taunts Colosso from upstairs about the upended water bucket and tosses his hat down to him. Ponytail mariachi ribs him a bit, then asks Doña Mancia what's up with Susanito--he never showed up for work yesterday. Mancia's worried since he came home saying he'd been to "heaven" and he had quite a look on his face this afternoon.
Redheaded mean girl calls Ay Jalisco and talks to Mirna to set up the serenate ambush for the evening. It's gonna be pricey, but Elvira's willing to pay the price. Mr. 5ft walked through when the Mean Girls were squealing and jumping up and down. He asked if they won Justin Bieber tickets. Yes, dear, because women only get that excited at the prospect of Justin Bieber, clearance sales, and revenge. Aw, crap, ladies, he may have a point. Tomorrow, when we balance our checkbooks and there's still money left over after paying all the bills on time (crossing my fingers on that one) let's all jump up and down and squeal, ok?
Maria cleans JAntos up a bit and tells him he'd better choose between his love of fighting with Oscar and his love of her, cause one more fight and it is OVER. I don't think we believe that any more than he does. Amalia comes in and asks QTH is going on--she heard from Mancia they were fighting outside. JAntos avoids answering the question by asking if she's able to see again. Amalia says it's thanks to him…and don't change the subject! JAntos starts to justify the fight, but Amalia won't tolerate him and Oscar causing scenes. JAntos apologizes and promises it won't happen again. Amalia says if it does, he won't be welcome in the house. Maria backs him up on that. Then she says that's guys for you, they just don't get it. On behalf of guys,...hey! Just cause these two are acting like a couple of idiots doesn't mean all guys are like that!

Corazon Indomable, Capitulo 4, Thursday 5-16-13: Fate Places the Pieces on the Board--Let the Game Begin
Recap by La Paloma
(There were many
short scenes flipping back and forth.
Some of these may be combined in the recap. I'm going to learn how to
make this shorter.)
Gloom and worry
Don Alejandro hears his doctor's
advice to slow down and stay away from work for six months, but isn't happy at
the prospect. His heart condition is a
sword over his head and he wishes his daughter were at his side.
At the river and multi-purpose
watering hole, Maricruz is rising from her plunge into the depths, meeting the
worried Solita mid-stream for a happy reunion.
Up at the hacienda's big house, Miguel rushes in, angrily telling Lucia
that Octavio learned about the mortgage on the lands. Opinions are exposed: Octavio determined that Miguel will pay for
this treachery, Lucia telling Miguel "Don't let him win," Miguel
saying he will take consequences and begging Lucia to have faith and she'll
still have it all.
Octavio enters to ask Lucia if the
room is ready for his future wife, which leads to cross-accusations of lying
and scheming from both parties. Lucia, with fake smiles, tries to learn more
about the wife's social standing and disposition. Octavio claims he just might marry him one of
them lower-class gals, while Lucia smirks about Miguel's love for her and how
Octavio's bride needs this kind of love.
Back at the Hut of Humility, Abuelo
and Solita are comforting a weeping Maricruz, who confesses her sorrow is due
to the news of Octavio's impending marriage.
Abuelo warns her that Octavio might be just foolin' around and she'd
better stay away from the ranch. Sad
eyes from MC.

PEAM #49- 5/17/13- Vero Who Loves Jesus Who Loves Alma Who loves Jesus Who Doesn't Love Xochy.
We begin
at the cafeteria with Susana inquiring about what is going on between Jessica
and Rogue because Ferny didn’t move a finger for her but Susana sees Jessica
going into Rogue’s office on several occasions but before she can lie we are
interrupted by Xochy screeching about Marsela’s father needing an
amputation. Rogue wants the money ($50,000
for the “wedding”) from storage
and Fern who has seen the light will have no parts of it. He thought bubbles to
the last time when he tried to get the “dirty” money and ended up on the
garbage truck. Rogue yells at his
brother and then has the nerve to say do it, it’s an order and don’t act
childish.
The
secretarial cartel wants to go to the hospital to support their buddy. Marisela leaves with Chatita. Chatita lets Marisela know that her
friends love you and you lie and deceive them. Your lies will catch up to you one day. Chatita has a convenient memory lapse.
Rogue
is overheard by his FIL making plans with Patty, Alma’s best friend. Rogue lies
and says that it’s a collaborator.
He is going to Toluca to see the President of Avon and is on his way to
the airport. Sebastian warns Rogue
to be careful, he almost lost his life over a woman who wasn’t his wife and
lost his money, it also broke up his relationship with his daughter, Alma. He lets Rogue know that Alma won’t
tolerant unfaithfulness. He won’t judge him but his priority is his daughter
and he better no let her suffer. Paty is waiting for Rogue with tablets. (Are
they blue??)

An almost kiss, an almost marriage proposal, an almost end of life, and no monkey sightings
Eusebio and Octavio are still having their argument about helping Maricruz and her family. Octav warns him to leave her alone and don’t mess with her. Eusebio doesn’t like this order.
Nuevo: Back at the shack at night, while the girls are sitting by a fire, Gramps is pulling out a box that was hidden under a mattress. Inside are a bunch of letters, and he pulls out a piece of paper with the address of Maricruz’s father. Commenters here were certain Grandpa knew where Daddy resided. Gramps has a flashback to his daughter (who looks uncannily, no,
exactly, like Maricruz. She could be her twin) who is on her deathbed pleading to a younger, dark colored wig wearing Gramps to not tell Maricruz where her father is. So he talks himself into keeping quiet. But he does reveal that the dad does care about his daughter and has written many times to come see them over the years.

PEAM #48- 5/15/13: How To Teach a Bobblehead Doll To Dance Without Tipping Over
Dec 12th or juárever day Osorio decides it is. Juárever!
Discua is home so she won't be able to enjoy the ''active pause'' which is a fancy way to say that you will spend more time in the changing room than doing yoga. That's supposed to improve work efficiency, but if I were Alma, I'd better let them gossip and have their way with the carrot cake, since that is something they already manage to do well....
Tomorrow, Dec. 13th. or 21st. for that matter, someone will have to tell her so she is prepared with her sporty outfit ;-)
Jesús, who besides being a ''Licenciado'', a pizza delivery guy, a chef, a pet sitter, a party planner, campaign designer and mole vendor outside movie theaters on Sundays, still have time to teach yoga!!
Don't do good things that look like bad things, used to say Jesús grandmother but he has forgotten all advice, lost in Alma's green eyes. During the waste of, I mean, the active pause, there was plenty of people she could have chosen to ''do the yoga with'' but she chose Jesús, and him, with that bad judgement (remember that last night he spent the night at Verónica's when he could have easily declined that offer without damaging his relationship with Valentina -juárever). Jessica takes the chance to tell XTL how slow she was not grabbing him before Alma did, and Ricardo uses his Unefón to snap a close up picture (that later changes to a completely different shot) to post it both via closed circuit and printed in manila envelopes! Ain't nobody got time fo' dat!!
Well, thanks to the ''active pauses'' now the staff is energized and well rested to do all this and their usual workload too!!! Hahahaha! Allow me to laugh here! Will it be love? Reads the caption on the picture and Jesús is making a very huge fuss about it, when in the beginning, he didn't mind. Holding, pulling, pushing, breathing, and gets lost in Alma's green eyes when THE WHOLE OFFICE STAFF INCLUDING ROGELIO AND FERNANDO WERE WATCHING!!! Echate esa! Can you imagine this in real life?

CI: Love Among The Wretched Blooms
Capítulo 2
Eusabio
is pretty damned slow about following Ocatavio’s orders to fetch Maricruz’s
ration of milk and food for that day. His lips say sí, but his body
language says “No, not if I have anything to say about it!” He doesn’t, but his
mouthy, jealous girlfriend, Ofelia, does. Mari will have to wait till
Ofelia and Useless get it on in the storeroom first.
Meanwhile,
Octavio gives Mari a broad hint that her personal hygiene could use a
boost. If she’d bathe and put on a clean dress afterwards and maybe a pair
of shoes then she’d look a whole lot prettier, he says. Useless finally
comes back with the milk and foodstuffs but gives them both grief saying Lucia
is going to have a fit. Tav says get over it, that he’ll explain and
handle things, not to worry all ready. Mari takes the stuff and Tav
learns that her pet monkey was named after him. Apparently that makes Tav
feel special and he smiles a sparkling smile that should send shivers down to
Mari’s tippy toes.
Mari is
so keen on pleasing Octavio that she bathes with soap, washes and combs her
hair, puts on a clean dress and even the old pair of shoes she has, even though
they’re too small for her. She heads over immediately afterwards to show
her “new look” to him.

PEAM, Tuesday 5/14/13 (#47): Woof!
Chucho finishes the latest installment of the fairy tale with Valentina: The queen is going to marry the bad guy, and her helper is invited to the wedding! Val recognizes that the helper will be sad, and suggests that he should try to get the queen to marry him instead. Oh, you crazy kids, with your hi-fi record players and newfangled ideas!
Paty tells Rogue her price for not sending Alma that video of him and Jessica: He has to take her to the ranch this weekend. (He's getting married the weekend after that!) From now on, he has to treat her the way she deserves. (He replies sarcastically.) And he can't fool around with that trollop (Jessica) any more. Also, he must beg Paty's forgiveness, and say it like he means it. Louder! And on his knees! No, she's just kidding about the knees - but he will have to apologize again, in bed, right now!
Valentina begs Chucho to stay overnight. Vero agrees to let him spend the night in another room. He really doesn't want to, and says he can't because he didn't bring any pajamas. Vero says that's no problem: he can wear some of Eli's. He doesn't want to do that. Then Val says it's only fair: she stayed at his place, so now he can stay at her place! She pelts him with porfas until he relents. She asks for another episode of the fairy tale, so he tells her about the wedding gown. Now it's time for bed. She says a prayer of thanks for letting her daddy stay overnight.
Speaking of daddies, Alma's dad calls Rogue to let him know that Alma's looking for him, to thank him for the creepy bunny with the tulips. (Why isn't she trying his phone? Duh??) Patymelt distracts Rogue; Sebastian can tell something's up. Sorry, poor choice of words. "Are you with someone?" he asks. Rogue says that's just his dog! He whispers at her to bark like a dog. She obliges with enthusiasm.

Qué Bonito Amor #22 (Mex 32.2-33) Tuesday 5/14/13 Que Día Tan Bonito or Love in a Time of Thunderstorms
This episode could have titled this El Episodio de No’s, Not’s, Don’ts and Won’ts.
Recapper doesn’t think there was any Lo de Ayer
Lo de Hoy
Some scenes have been combined to prevent eyeball-whiplash.
·
JAntos
pays a visit to Irasema, his long-legged (and slightly long in the tooth) night-owl
neighbor. No, not for himself (but he
might need her services before the night is over…). He’s there to ask a favor
for a friend in need. The friend, of
course, is none other than Sweet Sue. JAntos
tells him to get dressed up real guapo, go to this address “for a good time.” He just needs to relax. And, No, he can’t let his mother know where
he’s off to.
·
Maria and
Gloria have left Oscar’s place and stopped for a cafecito and a
heart-to-heart chat. Gloria had no idea
Oscar was interested in Maria—after Oscar’s performance earlier. Maria swears she never led him on, was never
Coloso’s novia, mujer, whatever, never interested in him, isn’t and No, never
will be. Gloria believes her. She’s always loved him. (Stay tuned, we learn
a little more of Gloria and Oscar’s backstory later on.)
·
Coloso is
banging on Fernando’s apt. door. Fer
is still hurting from the beat-down he got, but opens it for Coloso. El Rey is pretty steamed about
something. Fernando guesses it’s about
Vargas and he doesn’t want to talk about Vargas. No, answers Coloso, this time it’s about
ME! Fernando gets a kick out of
the story (from Coloso’s point of view, of course) and is delighted to hear he
has a “little nephew.” Oscar isn’t in
the mood and No, he’s not going to do anything about him—after all the time
gone by and Gloria never told him. He’s
darn sure the chamaco isn’t his.
·
Said
chamaco is working on his Spanish lessons at Maria’s apartment with Paloma
tutoring. Isa is trying Not to do her
math homework, it’s too hard. Roddy
offers to help. Things are getting out
of hand for Paloma. No, back to Spanish
for Roddy and math for Isa.
There’s a
knock at the door and Paloma answers. It’s an ordinary looking guy in a
loud ghastly green plaid work shirt. Oh my
heavens, it’s Jorge Alfredo looking for Maria. [Note to JS--please tell wardrobe this is just not your color or design.]
Paloma tells him she went to Coloso’s place (a potentially serious error
of omission here). When he asks why, Isa
pipes up and says, duh, he’s her novio.
JAntos puts on an act like a wounded bull and calls Isa a torero who’s
wounded him in the heart. Amalia hears
him from the other room (where she was hiding out from Gloria and Roddy). She stops him from leaving because she wants
to talk to him. She shoos the kids down
to the patio. Amalia is really pithed at
Jorge Alfredo. She’s sure he’s the cause
of Maria not taking the job at Don Ruben’s office—one that would surely have
brought her a bigger salary, experience and advancement. Of course, she won’t let him get a word in
edgewise.
Fortunately for JA, Ruben arrives
and JA opens the door. He tells Ruben
that Maria isn’t home. Amalia
overhears his reason for coming. He
wants to apologize for the humiliation his wife put Maria through at the serenata. He also came to pay them (I didn’t see JA
actually take the check, although it was urged on him so he could have
something to start paying back Amalia’s hospital care). The two men shoot eye
daggers at each other. Amalia realizes
she jumped to a hasty conclusion and has to eat, chew and swallow her
words. Then JA tells Amalia the real
reason for his visit. He’s been to see Don Tonio and shares what he learned
about Pedro Mendoza—that he was never unfaithful, etc. etc. Amalia sputters that Concho told her he was
and she believed it. Jorge Alfredo
assumes he lied out of jealousy or some rivalry. Amalia is all torn up that she
blamed Pedro for eight years for something he never did. The three girls return. (I guess Rodrigo went
home with Gloria.) Maria greets JAntos with a sweet kiss on the cheek and realizes
something is wrong with her mother.
Amalia assures her it is nothing and asks to be helped back to her room.
Maria goes with her. She starts out by
telling Maria that now she knows why she didn’t take the job with Don Rube and
is behind her all the way. One must
always put dignity first. Now, GO, there’s
a decent young man waiting for you out there. GO. Maria would rather stay with her, Not leave
her alone, but Amalia insists.

Up in Los
Angeles,
CA, Justo is on the phone with the Mexican Minister of State.
He understands there is nothing they can do
without risking their international reputation by getting embroiled in the
investigation, but he appreciates their concern. At least they've let him keep his post as consul.
Altagracia is whimpering at his elbow, not to
give up on their son.
She’s certain he’s
innocent.
Justo, it seems is now 100% on
board and will work to clear his son and bring the perpetrators to justice (way
to go, Justo or your name isn’t Justo).
Comm. Derecho is trying to get out of his office but Curtis is blocking
his way.
He’s going to turn in his resignation
because of his failure with the Santos case.
She’s visibly upset (and that’s a mild description for what’s going
on).
There’s a little FF BB SS RR FF BB
SS RR (that’s a new dance step—two steps forward, two backward, two sideways,
two round and round and repeat randomly). Derecho finally orders her aside; she
salutes and gets the door in her face.
Derecho’s superior Won’t take the resignation. He rips it up. Derecho
protests his right to resign. Super says ok, but if you go, Curtis goes out the
door right behind you.
Derecho won’t let
that happen, so he agrees to a reassignment to the archives until his
retirement.

Amores Verdaderos #129 Mon 5/13/13 The Damme's blindfold comes off, and she transforms from quiet kitten to raging lioness in 0 to 60(Thanks Diana!), The young Damme's blindfold comes off and she wants to turn back time
Recap in progress... oh boy what an episode!!
Refritis:
2nd half of confrontation at base of stairs… KenDrat is desperate crying asking Nil-Brains to tell the truth, that her baby girl is his. Angel grabs Nil-Brains to try to shake the truth out of him. Dances steps in the middle and separates them, tells Angel ‘Don’t compromise yourself!’ KenDrat insists to Nil-Brains that she could not keep quiet about having his child.
Lo Nuevo:
Nil-Brains has the nerve to try to ‘swear’ to Vicky that… Vicky won’t even let him speak. ‘Don’t say any more please!! How could you deceive us like this?? How could you do this to your daughter?? Deceive me??!! [which one?? Lol] Both of you make me sick! What shame!! Now you will have to explain this all to Nikki!! Because I couldn’t!! How??... How could I explain so much filth!! SO much betrayal!! And of course, I don’t have to ask of you… no, DEMAND of you that both of you leave this house!! GET OUTA DODGE!!! ‘ (I have to give it to Vicky, she stood up strong despite such a terrible moment she was living)
Vicky runs out to bedrooms, Nil-Brains follows her shouting requests for her to listen to him, while Angel has a facial expression like he is sick to his stomach and Dances just stands back there and KenDrat continues to cry.
Nil-Brains turns his anger at KenDrat ‘Pick up your things and get out of this house right now!! Dissappear!! I will never marry you!! I want nothing to do with you ever again!! You broke my marriage!!’ KenDrat shouts several times ‘it was already sunk!!’ and runs out crying.
Nil-Brains walks away to door and Dances and Angel are far enough that Dances asks Angel quietly if this was what he wanted. Angel says no, this is not what I wanted. I just did not want to keep this secret on Miss Vicky any longer.
Nil-Brains walks back and turns to Angel this time trying to put the blame on Angel, but Angel won’t have any of it, saying the only one to blame is Nil-Brains for not being faithful to his wife. Nil-Brains swings his arm but Dances steps in the middle again and separates them. Nil-Brains says it is not worth it to get his hands filthy (more than he has them now? Angel just looks at them like saying DITTO!!) Asks Dances to get KenDrat and her things out of this house yesterday.
Before he heads upstairs, and showing we should still give him some hairline hope for surviving the end, Dances asks Angel ‘are we alright?’ (as in ‘are you ok?’)
Nil-Brains is not done, turns around again and tells Angel that he doesn’t know how much it will cost him for what he did. Angel responds ‘I only do what is my duty, to protect Miss Vicky.’ Nil-Brains sarcastically says ‘so she will protect you. Nice trade. But it won’t be a good deal for you, I will see to that.’ (Angel just gives him a ‘you trash, I wish I could put my hands on you’ stare)

Qué Bonito Amor #21 (Mex 31-32.1) Monday 5/13/13
Capitulo
31: Qué Complicado Amor
Lo
del pasado
El Bartono and Fernando talk about the refusal of the money, which he thinks to be false pride. Lourdes complains about her miserable life to a friend. Oscar brings Elvira to his place. They are separatin Maria from El Pochito [¡Salud!] Booty call. Jorge
Alfredo continues playing Romeo to Maria's Juliet and they swear undying love [Por dios, that
ladder looks dangerous].
Lo
de nuevo
Balcony:
Maria tells Jorge Alfredo she will not accept the job Ruben
offered. He tells her that he feels lost without her. Mas besos,
then Jorge Alfredo slowly rides away on the pretty white horse.
[Ladies in Viewerville are now really wondering about those
kisses.]
Mendoza
Apartment: Amalia is singing the same old song about how Jorge
Alfredo – like all the other mariachis – will break Maria's
heart. She goes on about them being the most unfaithful. [We
understand that her blindness is making her more anxious, but Maria
is an adult.] Paloma wakes up at this one and asks her mother
what she means by this.

Corazón Indomable Cap. 1, 5/13/13: Our Galan is an Unemployed Bum, Who Just Proposed to Someone Else for Money, But He Sure is Lindo and Chulo
We start our tale with a flourish of accordions, trumpets and strings and zoom in on a beautiful river where two dark-haired lovelies are swimming and frolicking. They are our heroine Maricruz Olivares and her little sister Soledad, aka Solita. But very soon the music turns sinister, and a dark horse comes galloping to the shore with a menacing looking rider. He ogles the two young girls and talks to himself about how the two sisters are like wild animals, especially Maricruz. But Solita, the deaf-mute (sordomuda), is just like how he likes his women. One day she’ll be his! Eeewwww!!!!
Next we are transported to a lovely hacienda, where our galan Octavio Narváez has just driven up to the front door. Inside, his brother Miguel and sister-in-law Lucia argue about how much longer he and his brother will be at odds over what to do with the lands. Miguel seems to think he’ll be able to put off his little brother as easily as always. Lucia wonders why he doesn’t just sell the land already, and give his brother his part. Miguel doesn’t know what he’d do with his life without the land. And little brother Octavio would just burn through the cash quickly anyways, like he always does.

PEAM #46, 05/13/13 - "Jesús' Wild Ride? or Rogelio's Walk on the Wild Side?
Amigos de PEAM, I apologize for poor planning but I must go to a high school graduation for a first cousin twice removed who is the last blood relative I can recognize for her great accomplishments in high school. Hurray for Kayla. But back to the subject matter, my recording devices are all malfunctioning and I cannot see the capitulo tonight so please discuss at will. If any kind soul posts highlights, I will copy them here into the body of the post later tonight. Saludos, Cheryl y Willa
Here is Willa with her best friend Cisco, She is always the poser.
Thanks to Pablo Villalobos for the following succinct recap he shared in tonight's comments:
"Well... what can I say... it's still nov the 7th from 6 to 9 pm aprox, so no Discua or stooges since everybody should be in their homes already.
Jesús goes to meet XóchiTL's mother, then runs to talk to Alma and then runs to see Valentina. He didn't have time to drink the coffe his ''girl-friend'' prepared.
Then Pánfilo shows up at Chatita's to make a quick FAMSA commercial and also leaves without drinking whatever Chatita had to offer.
Patricia makes a very huge deal after seeing Rogelio with Jessiquita and her whip, have a tantrum and breaks several things, takes the video home and then sends it to Rogelio to ''negotiate'' their relationship status.
Marisela kisses Elías, Martha visits Valentina and meets the ''famous'' Jesús, and probably spends the night there. I can almost see Verónica licking her lips in advance!!
Not much, nothing really interesting... ;-( "Labels: Manda

Porque el Amor Manda #45: The Princess Cries, The Villain Lies, and Our Favorite Couple Dies Inside
He's a Magic Man
Jesús is overcome by the sight of Alma in her wedding dress...and even more overcome when she gets her hair stuck in her zipper while the saleslady has conveniently dashed out to the bodega. Once again they find themselves in a compromising position as he tries to get her untangled. The writers must have dashed out to the bodega, too, because there is no one eavesdropping on the extremely suggestive dialogue that ensues.
("Do you want it slow or fast...I don't want to hurt you!...Oooh, you have magic hands...") She tries to comp him a white linen suit to wear to the wedding, but apparently that's too big a tip for a simple disrobing assist, and he rebuffs her.

Qué Bonito Amor #20 (Mex 29.2-30) Friday 5/10/13 In Which Lorena Learns That Big Break-ups Suck Big Time and Maria Learns That Making Up is Better Than Breaking Up Anytime
Cap. 2nd ½ #29 +
#30
That
evening, post-confirmation of Maria and Santo’s still being in love with each
other via singing “Si Nos Dejan”…..
Ana
(as does Viewerville now) notes hotly that Fernando, El Mil Amores ese, is
self-absorbed to the max. She
listens to him tell his distressing story, vainly complaining to Santos how
although he loves Roxana, he doesn’t love her enough to let her move in with
him (like Mr. So Important’s got more than a jail cell sized 8x10 space to
share with her anyway). JAntos
reminds him that she’s in trouble with her gangster hubby because of him in the
first place. No skin off his nose
that she’s been salving her soul by sharing her bed and becoming ….er…bosom
buddies with Mil Amores! No, he’s
not a man made for one woman, or better said, a one-woman man. Ana loses it cuz she’s heard enough at
this point. “—You ridiculous
little man! You coward!” “--Hey, this isn’t any of your
business!” “—It is when I say it
is and I do cuz she doesn’t deserve this!” She stomps out of the room.
Susanito
(our Boy Named Sue--do you think something like this is what Johnny Cash had in mind when he wrote that song?)
worries about why she’s so upset with Mil. He pompously preens.
Stupid boy! “—It’s obvious
that she’s jealous, very jealous!”
Out
in the empy dining room, Selena begs Annie to back off Mil cuz it’s obvious
she’s letting him know she’s in love with him. No reason to deny it.
Either she forgets him or she fights for him. She can’t have it both ways cuz it’s obviously tearing Annie
to pieces. Annie has to admit to
herself that she does love him and hasn’t been able to get Fernando out of her
head since the first day she met him. ¡Ay!
Back
in the dressing room, the mariachis are now sneaking a grammar school giggle over
Sue’s sad state of dishabille forever caught as a poster-sized Kodac moment,
courtesy of El Aventurero. “—Looks
like he needs to change dressing rooms (camerino) with Maria from now on!” Mil
and BNS walk in on the group, getting a gander of the poster-sized image of him
wearing Mama’s pink and white flowered bathrobe. Sue, embarrassed, slinks out of the room as El Coloso sniggers
about him about getting him a pink charro suit for the act.
Meanwhile,
JAntos has changed and walked over to Maria’s colonia where he stands outside
her window moping. Maria looks out
her window and notices him there.
He blows a kiss her way and in the shadows she tearfully accepts the
imaginary kiss, still believing that he two-timed her with Elvira.
The
next afternoon, Rodrigo returns home from prep-school. He and Gloria have an odd mother-son
chit-chat about what a terrific son he is and how independent and self-reliant
he is. FF>>
At
the same time, Lorena Olmo, Ruben-Olmo-Attorney-at-Law’s, bitchy bitchin’ wife,
is showing her posse what she has in store for straying hubby’s birthday party that
night. She’s going to enjoy
putting that caterwauling two-bit bargirl and her cheating hubby, Ruben, in
their place. Eeeewwww! Viewerville and her posse note
the nasty time to be had by all when they get a load of the remote screen the
scheming shrew got set up in the back yard to spice the evening up. Lorena calls Concho’s place and
contracts the mariachis for that night to do a serenade, complete with a
request to have Maria singing a special birthday song carrying a huge bouquet
of flowers which she’s to hand over to Hubby personally at the end of the song.
That
day Amalia is having a hard time adjusting to being blind. Maria and she pray for patience and
guidance; and then Maria goes through the house letting her mama feel distances
and such. Amalia’s in a
much better mood.
At
the same time, Mil and JAntos are discussing why Maria is in such a funk about
luhhhhv, how she thinks now that her father was a playboy and totally
unfaithful to his wife. Mil says
he knew Pedro and that it wasn’t like that at all. He knows a man from Pedro’s old group of mariachis who was a
close buddy of his that they can talk to possibly, but he happens to live on
the way to Nezahualcoytl…er…Neza for short.
In
LA at the state prison there, Bruno and Arnold are having a sitdown with cousin
Giuliano, the worm meister.
They’re about to be set free, says El Gusano, but watch out about making
any statements to the press. Why,
asks Bruno who is having third and fourth thoughts already about the jam he’s
put Santos in, is ol’ Giuli worried he might be put into a compromising
situation, now or what? El Gusano
stares nastily back at his mouthy cous.
Meanwhile,
JAntos and Fernando arrive in Neza, but as they start to take in the sights a
patrol car stops next to them and puts its lights on. Out jumps a cop with a wanted notice and tells him to
stop. He’s arresting him as the
fugitive, Santos Marinez de la Garza!!
Santos freezes then suddenly he breaks into a run.
Back
in L.A., Arny and Bruno have a presser of a presser. Some lady reporter sticks a microphone in his face and asks
Bruno if he feels betrayed by de la Garza somehow. El Gusano de Giuliano answers that he’s a forgiving soul and
only wants justice and the pursuit of those who are truly guilty. (Viewerville says Amen to that one!)
Fernando
leads the cops into a wild goose chase and he and JAntos finally make it to a
safer part of the city. Ok. So now Santos has got to be more
careful, they figure. No duh!
That
night at Ruben’s birthday bash, old elderly Mama and Papa Olmo are there to
help sonny boy celebrate. El
Coloso and Crew are there. They
begin their act and JAntos realizes they’re at Ruben’s house. “—Something’s going on. Something’s going on!” They
decide to continue to sing anyway. Mom ‘n Pops Olmo (who remind me of my very
average sweet and elderly family members more than the ordinary run of rich
scum buckets we generally familiar with.)
Ruben and his BFF, Fabian, are surprised to see Maria sing him las Mañanitas. Maria is even more shocked to see that
she’s been hired to sing at Ruben’s party. When she’s finished the song, Lorena viciously points out
Maria to all the guests and declares that she’s Hubby’s lover and the reason
he’s leaving her and their children.
Ruben claims Lorena’s just drunk too much is all.
Down comes the remote-controlled movie screen and up go
the guests’ eyebrows when Maria and Ruben are shown talking chummily over lunch
at the restaurant the other day, and Ruben is giving her chin-chucks and cheek
fondles. RUH-ROH! Even JAntos becomes
saucer-eyed and red-faced impactado.
Maria just wants the earth to swallow her whole right where she
stands. Lorena narrates:
“—This is the real Ruben Olmo, the perfect father, perfect son, perfect
husband—but by day because by night he cavorts with this woman at a mariachi
club!”
Maria
angrily throws the forgotten bouquet in her hands to the ground and warns
Lorena to watch what she says. Rather
than start something, JAntos hold her back and advises her not to do anything. “—It was a trap.” They turn to leave. Show’s over, says El Coloso. All the mariachis head back out but
they stop when they hear Fabian insult them. “—Yeah, we don’t need some scandal over an insignificant
woman.” Mil turns to face
Fabian. “--What did you
say??” “—Just what you heard, you
clown! This isn’t some mariachi
bar! This is a decent house!” JAntos overhears the snide aside and
grabs Fabian by the collar.
“—You’ll respect my woman!”
The or else implied here is eating a knuckle sandwich, American
style. Poor Mama Olmo is about to
have a heart attack from the embarrassment and shock. Ruben’s family begs him to calm things down. Papa Olmo tells
them no fisticuffs allowed. Ruben tells JAntos best to get out of his
house. “—Er, please.” Ok. Since he asked nicely, they all start
back out again.
Back
in L.A. at the de la Garza manse, meantime, Justo keeps searching through the
documents the worm meister left him trying to find something to hang his hat on
that will prove Santos’ innocence.
Mil
Amores grabs a silver tray with hors doeuvres and bottle of whiskey. The boys didn’t get a chance to eat
because they came to give the serenade, he explains. “—I hope this whiskey I’m going to drink is a top notch brand.”
They call him an insolent servant and ask where he’s been raised. He turns Lorena and Ruben. I
may be a poor ruffian from the lower class, but I was raised well. Any disrespectful behavior or bad
manners I’m learning here from this poor woman who hasn’t learned how to hang
on to her husband!
“—I’m
known as Mil Amores and I take care of lonely women who have been abandoned by
their husbands. I’ll take care of
your frustrations for you, Señora.”
Lorena’s mama asks what’s going on here. Nothing, answers El Coloso, just another demonstration of
the lack of respect found in members of your class. Lorena is about to smack Fernando or Col a good one, but
Ruben stops her and tells her to cool her jets. Col and Mil turn on their heel and strut off. Ruben gets grief from the parental
units and insists that none of Lorena’s crazy accusations are true. Ruben eventually asks one of his guests
to pay off the band for him.
Fabian goes along with him.
Maria is ashamed. Jantos tries to calm her down, telling
her that everyone there realizes they set a trap for her. “—But it’s not fair!”
He swears that he’ll believe her,
that he believes in her unconditionally [ciegamente = blindly] no matter what
was said. Then Fabian shows up
with the check and insults them all again. “—Here is your payment, you poor bastards. Wouldn’t want you to do without since I
realize you live from hand to mouth every day.” Jantos grabs the check, looks
at it and tears it up. Then he
jumps him and they break into fisticuffs.
Fabian’s friends and the boys in the band pull the two of them apart
(unfortunately). “—Hey you, little
lawyercito you. Tell that guy,
Pines, or Mahogany or yeah, Elm [olmo=elm] that sooner or later he is going to
pay.” Col tells them to scram
before they make mincemeat out of them.
Mil throws the scraps on the tray over at them. “—Hey! What’s the matter?
You’re alley cats and that's what the servants do, right?” The three metrosexual nincompoops
huddle.
Bruno
is finally a free man again; he decides to call up Wendy. They agree for her to show up at the
no-tell motel he’s registered in since he’s now persona non-grata at the de la
Garza manse. Wendy races over to
Bruno’s motel room and they make up for lost time, putting the bed sheets
through the wringer. Over in the corner of the yard, Coloso tries to make Maria understand
that Ruben isn’t a friend she can count on at all. During this whole scene he never said a single word in her
favor or lifted a finger to help her, says El Coloso. He even sent out his
flunkies to pay us. It means he’s
not man enough to have!
Once the guests are gone, Ruben
packs his bags and complains to his bitchy wife about the humiliating party
she’d tricked him with. He’s not
lying and has nothing to cover up for her. “—Right. Just
like all the other times, right?”
(Face it babe. Ruben’s got
an itch you are simply unable to scratch.
Cut your lossees. Take the
house and the car and the big bank account. Find a new squeeze at the club.) She threatens him that she’ll do something to Maria for
making him leave her. Ruben tells
her he’s sick of her paranoia and her histrionics. He’s owdaheya!!
The mariachis drop Maria off at her
colonia. Jantos wants to take her
up. She won’t let him go with her
and reminds him that although she appreciates the way he defended her this
evening, there’s no longer anything between them. They’re still finished as a couple. Maria goes upstairs and
cries over him. “—I mustn’t love him, but I can’t forget about him. I don’t know how to get him out of my
heart.”
After
Bruno and Wendy have broken the tension, so to speak, we learn that Bruno feels
really rotten for disgracing their two families. (Good. He
should.) Wendy is totally on his side no matter
what happens. (Yeah, we eagerly
wait seeing if she’s just as faithful to him when she finds out what a rat fink
he’s really been!) They’ll face whatever comes together, she says.
A group of the mariachi’s go out for
late night tacos and discuss, what else?
The woes and lows of loving and losing a woman.
Santos gets an idea of a way to win
back his Bonita. Can Fernando help
him? Sure thing. Does a bear go er…berry-hunting in the
woods? Is IL Papa Catholic?
An hour or two later, Fernando, El
Baritono, and Sue begin playing a love song under Maria’s living room window. She
and Amalia wake up. Amalia comes
after Maria, hoping to warn her away from the window, but Maria tells her
mother not to say a word about it to her! (Yep. It’s her life. Let her live it without your stoooopid
meddling.) Santos is sitting on that photographer’s white horse, singing
his serenade. She puts her robe on
and walks out onto the balcony, tears in her eyes. He gets off the horse and climbs the bower to her
balcony. The song ends and they
kiss. (Hey, if that was finally JS’s real voice, then why haven’t they been
using it all along???? It’s really
decent!)
Fernando smiles to
himself and the others. “—Just took
one song for him to win her back!” They watch JAntos and Maria kiss. Jantos swears his love for her is the real thing and explains
again how he was knocked out cold when Elvira took those dumb pictures of him
kissing her. Maria says she loves
him too and swears that she believes him.
They hug happily and tell each other how much they love each other. Jantos has her promise him that no
matter what happens nothing will ever make her stop loving him. She swears to it and they kiss and
embrace passionately again.

Amores Verdaderos #127 Thu 5/9/13 Nikki Shares her Balls with Roy
Honeymoon Suite: The groom is still annoyed about catching his bride boinking another man, in the barn and in her wedding finery. What did he expect her to do? Honor her vows and save herself for her
husband on her wedding night? She wants to explain, but Roy doesn't want to hear any of it. She wants to got out partying with him, but Roy says she smell like vomit. Besides, it will cramp his style if he brings his wife along while he's picking up girls. Roy outright abandons the poor girl on their honeymoon and tells her to order from room service.
If the bell boy's smiling when Roy returns, he will have only himself to blame. He leaves Nikki in the room doing her botox cry expression. It's the one where she cries without moving any part of her face.
Victoria's Art Room: Adriana admires Victoria's drawings of Arriaga while her sister talks with Guzman on the phone. Victoria's artistic skills have improved since we saw those hideous paintings. Vicky tells Guzman that Nicky and Roy arrived safely in Miami. She tells him to take off as much time as he needs to settle things with Beatriz and Guillo. Vicky tells her sister that Bea should be realeased tonight, but they still don't know where Guillo is. They both can't understand why men use children to hurt their wives. Adrianna tells Vicky to stop living for Nikki because she chose her own destiny. She encourages Vicky to hump Arriaga. She didn't quite use those exact words, but I'm paraphasing in order to save time. Adrianna goes on to point out that Vicky has failed at both of her major relatiionships. Vicky bombed out with Carlos and her marriage to Nelson is a complete failure. Adrianna believes that if Vicky would tweek parts of her personality, she might be able to make it with Arriaga. Vicky want's to be divorced first. She'll do it even if it displeases her father.

Qué Bonito Amor #18-19 (Mex 26.2-29.1) Thursday 5/9/13 Que Bonito Traicion
Just a quick summary of yesterday:
• Michael got knifed in his cell, but survived. While he was getting patched up he asked the nurse what it would take for him to be able to use their fancy dental equipment and provide some actual services while he's there.
• Orange G is going to have the failed knifer whacked. Why Orange G doesn't get whacked for continuing to do shoddy work is beyond me. "The Godfather doesn't tolerate…" my ass!
• Maria overheard Concho and Amalia talking about her dad, so now she knows her daddy wasn't the saint Amalia always let her believe.
• Amalia still hasn't recovered her sight.
• Ruben and JAntos (I'm stealing that…this guy has too many damn names!) get into a fight at the bar and Ruben threatens to call the cops, but Susanito points out that Ruben's wife won't be happy to find out where he's been. This finally gets JAntos fired from Ay Jalisco.
• Ruben tries to hire some thugs to beat up JAntos, and it's looking pretty grim until Fernando Milamores and Susanito find him and scare the thugs off.
• Amalia found out JAntos paid the rent and though she still thinks he's hiding something, between that and his telling her about his feeeeelings, she's now convinced he's truly in love with Maria. She blames all the drama on him being a mariachi.
• Milamores' lover, the gangster's wife, wants to leave her husband. He gave her a black eye and Milamores swears he'll do anything to help her, but what she wants him to do is let her move in with him.

PEAM #44- 5/9/13- Just Another Day At Avon
I had to be creative for this episode because I spent most
of the time rolling my eyes at the foolishness.
I am going to recap according to the characters. Something similar was done by I believe
Jardinera for a different telenovela and I loved it.
Vero- the Ice Princess
What is wrong with Marta my therapist?? Why doesn’t she get
it?? I love Jesus. Why he invited
me to dinner to profess his love for me and give me illusions of reuniting with
him, so that Val, he and I can be a family. I initially let him go to the US because I didn’t want to
stand in his way but I should have told him that I loved him. How stupid of me!!! I just can’t stop thinking about the
dinner last night and when we embraced, we almost kissed. (Is that like almost winning the lottery?)
Marta- the therapist
What a job that I have. I give advice and no one listens and I get paid for
this. Vero- what about your
daughter, isn’t that why we have the therapy sessions. Don’t you think that she needs to be
with her Papa Elias??? Your love
for Jesus is a very confusing concept to this little girl. Oh well session over. Hmm- a phone call from Elias Franco,
I’ll take it. Oh yes, I do owe you
a session, come on over. Let me
put on some lipstick and freshen my face for this love, oh no professional session.
Elias- think about Valentina, she must be very confused, you raised her. I just
love this job!!!!!
Jesus-the secretary, executive, personal assistant.
I was only trying to help my brother man. I had cooked a delicious, romantic dinner
for Elias and Vero, only to have Elias skip out on me with Marisela and when
Vero arrives she thinks that the dinner is for us. I tried to tell Elias the next morning but it fell on
sleeping ears and now Elias is beyond pissed with me to say the least. I told the story to Alma, one of the
loves of my life and she understood. So now Cardenas has anxiety about speaking
in public and with the new staff morale project he is going to need some
help. Sure, I can help him. Why is Xochy still annoying me, well
let me not hurt her feelings in public, I’ll tell her about the mix up story
with Elias. Why is she reacting
like that, she needs to lower her voice.
Meet her mother, why would I want to do that?? Am I really her boyfriend??? I love spending time with my
boss, Alma. She asked me to take
her to look at wedding gowns because she couldn’t reach her best friend. That’s odd. Anyway, I’ll go to the ends of the Earth with her. Oh why is she inviting me to her wedding? I can’t go, I am dying of jealously how
can I stand it. But I can’t let
her down; I’ll be there. What’s
taking Patty so long let me walk around?
I’m in the bridal salon, wow, this gown would look amazing on Alma at
our wedding. Wow, there she is in
a wedding gown for real. She looks
marvelous. She is the perfect woman. I am speechless. This woman is a goddess.
Alma- the goddess
I am never too busy to listen to Jesus. What a mixed up story that was. I have a solution, just tell Vero the
truth. What a wonderful boss Rogue
is to make up the employee raffle for a weekend for 2. That will surely boost morale. Rogue seems a little agitated. I wish that there was something that I
could do to help Elias with getting his job back. I wonder why Rogue is so dismissive about it. Funny, I can’t reach my best friend on
her cell and I wanted to try on wedding gowns. Since I only have 2 friends then I guess that I have to ask
my other friend, Jesus. I just
love spending time with him under any pretense. There are so many lovely gowns to choose from. Let me try on this one. I wonder how I look in it?? Let me ask
Jesus for his opinion.
Sebastian- FIL
Rogue, you may have to take lessons from me on how to court
the ladies. Do what you must to re
light my daughter’s fire because the flames are smoldering. I am so astute but I am too busy
looking at Patty’s short dress and being charmed by her to wonder why did she
burst into your office like that. Oh
right, she is helping with the wedding.
Carry on, kids. Susana,
let’s do lunch. I don’t mind
eating in the employee cafeteria, it’s not about the food but it’s about the
company. (Rogue, learn from the
pro!) Susana, do we have to talk
about your hubby?? Sorry to
hear that he has pulmonary emphazema.
Susana- secretary
Why thank you for the lunch invitation, Sebastian. I can’t believe that a man of your
caliber will eat at the employee cafeteria. You could eat wherever you want. My husband isn’t doing too well. I will ignore everyone looking at us and just enjoy your company.

People on the Patio: Balzac Speaks
In this second edition of People on the Patio, we are thrilled to bring you the one, the only Balzac!!!
NM: Balzac Longoria -- You are the breakout star this season. Your name heads the list of The Most Charismatic Dogs in Latino Television. Your face is on the cover of the Spring issue of Semiotics in Mexican Telenovelas. And on the Patio, they say that just by showing up, you ensure the success of any episode you are in*. Are you surprised by the enthusiastic reaction of critics and fans alike to your nuanced portrayal of a dog in crisis?
[*See previous comments for full discussion of the Niecie-Balzac Rating Scale, an exquisite metric inspired by today's guest.]
Balzac: Um ...what?
NM: I said people are really into you.
Balzac: Hey. It happens. [Stands, circles three times and settles in comfortably on the couch. Gnaws in apparent contentment on a drool-encrusted liver chew.]
NM: Some of us were shocked when you chose to stay with Jean Marie rather than go back to Estéfano. What do you say to those who see your decision as disloyalty?
Balzac: Did you see the crap Stevie made me wear?
NM: Yes, well the beret was an unfortunate choice ...
Balzac: … and please don't get me started on my operation ...
