Corazón Indomable Fri. May 24 Mistakes Were Made

While Maricruz and Abuelo worry and hover over the clearly disturbed Solita (Maricruz asks her what is wrong... has she forgotten that Solita can neither hear nor speak?), on a balcony back at the ranch Ester is draping herself over Octavio suggesting that they spend some quality time together and catch up on old times. Lucia gently reminds Ester that Octavio is a married man now and has a wife to care for. Ester doesn't see a problem here and apparently neither does Octavio.

As Maricruz and Gramps confer outside over Solita's diagnosis (bird flu from some chickens? You folks don't have any chickens. Maybe the evil eye?) They are joined by Solita who weakly smiles and hugs gramps so she must be feeling better. A Festivus miracle! Maricruz suspects that there still may be more to this but remembers that Solita can't speak so... there's still a mystery.

Ester shrewdly suspects that Octavio's wife may be beautiful and this presents a challenge. Lucia takes the opportunity to enumerate a few of Maricuz's flaws as Maricruz admits to Grampa that she hasn't quite picked up the knack of eating at a table with civilized people but right now she's still concerned that not all is well with Solita.

Yay! It's dinnertime and the family is gathering around the table. Maricruz arrives a bit late and the beautiful and patiently concerned Lucia suggests that Maricruz wash her hands as a bemused Ester looks on. Miguel has taken his place at the head of the table and is calmly sipping a shot of Tequila. As Maricruz scampers away to follow her sister-in-law's helpful advice, Ester, who is seated next to Octavio offers for him to taste her green cocktail (it's a bit strong for her)  and flirts a bit as Maricruz returns and promptly goes nuclear, offering to rearrange Ester's hair. Dinner's over.

Maricruz pouts in her room as the Octavio, Miguel, and Lucia gather in the drawing room  to review and analyze the evening's proceedings. They agree... mistakes were made... Maricruz still needs a bit of polishing... Ester could have been a little more discreet.  Later upstairs, Lucia joins Ester who thinks that it all went rather well, Maricruz is now her enemy, as downstairs, Octavio whines to Miguel that he feels that the cousins are ganging up on his wife. Miguel reminds Octavio that Lucia is pregnant and is adversely affected by conflict.

At bedtime, Maricruz is still in a snit. She complains that she was annoyed by Ester's groping of her husband and refuses to come to bed. A laid back Octavio doesn't see a huge problem but Maricruz is steadfast and threatens... wait for it... DIVORCE! Tomorrow she will return to the family hovel.

She hasn't learned to eat with a knife and fork but somehow is acquiring basic civilization survival skills.

It's morning and Ester is planning to go horseback riding with Octavio. Even Lucia thinks this may be pushing things too far too fast. Too late... Ofelia announces that Octavio is on his way down.

Upstairs Maricruz is asleep on the sofa as The simian Octavio weirdly climbs about her partially clad form. This scene is vaguely familiar... hmmm... maybe without the monkey... some famous painting... She awakens... oops... squirrel shot... and goes to the window in time to catch a glimpse of her new husband riding off with her new favorite enemy...Ester. She hurries down the stairs, out the front door... gone! Already out of sight. She scurries about the yard and bumps into Lucia who wisely counsels her about jealousy. Octavio won't like it and might take her back to grandpa. Too late for that, Maricruz has decided to go home on her own. She returns to her room, gathers up hr rags and her monkey... "She's gone!" Lucia gleefully announces to Ofelia.

And just like that she's back at the hut complaining to Grandfather, "He doesn't want me."

About that same moment two horses gallop up to the ranch house. A race and Ester the Amazon has won but announces that tomorrow she will let him win. Suddenly the Amazon needs help dismounting and ends up melting and oozing down the front of Octavio. He gently but firmly deposits her safely on the ground and goes in search of his wife. He checks their bedroom... she's gone, monkey and all.

Downstairs, Ester boasts to Lucia who is with Miguel that it was a piece of cake. When Octavio joins them complaining that his wife is gone Lucia suggests that maybe she went to the river to wash her things, in any event, even if she's left, she just wasn't fitting in.

In the hut that evening we find that Maricruz has gone all fetal and has decided to languish, starve, and die... much like her mom. She even refuses a cup of milk offered by a helpful, hopeful, and apparently somewhat recovered Solita.

From the front porch back at the ranch a helpful, hopeful, and apparently somewhat annoyed Miguel suggests to his mopey sib that he not go after Maricruz "Teach her a lesson." Octavio looks defeated and numbly replies, "You might be right."

Separately the unhappy couple pouts and whimpers and whines... next!

No, a cheery India Maria slopping some pornographically posed nubile sows is...  not what  we're looking for...next!

At breakfast, Lucia seems happy that MariC hasn't returned and Miguel just seems vexed by all the bother. Back at the hut, Maricruz is busy fading and dying. Grandpa offers, threatens, and finally decides to go to the ranch to straighten things out.

And heeere's Ramiro! Wearing his best (only?) yellow shirt, he knocks on the rancho front door. Wait'll Offy gets a whiff. Yesterday Cynderella was certain that José Ángel (AV) smells like Old Spice. Today I'm equally certain that Ramiro does not.

He tells Ofelia that he's there to talk to Octavio and when informed that he's not there he insists on speaking to Miguel and if not Miguel, then Lucia... he'll wait. Ofelia informs Lucia of their guest. Not wanting to fill the house with fleas, she agrees to meet with the old man out by the pool.

Ofelia escorts Ramiro to the pool area but cautions him against getting too close to the señora.

The two discuss the relative merits of the marriage but bottom line, Grampa wants Octavio to come and get his wife before she withers and dies and if not... well, he capable of... whatever. "Life for life!"  Woooo!

On the way home, Ramiro vents a little with India Maria who wrings her hands. Yawn.

While Solita is spending a quiet moment (I guess all her moments are quiet) Euby rides up (such a pretty horse... such a disgusting rider), dismounts, and creeps up behind her... "Look, fresh meat." I swear that's what he said... die now, you bastard. He reaches out and strokes her hair. Startled and terrified she flees into the safety of the hut and secures the door.

Maricruz takes a break from her dying and goes outside to confront Eusebio. She tells him to get the Hell out and don't come back they don't want that stinkin' food. He pops his pitiful little whip but she's unimpressed. Perhaps she dimly remembers a sour old guy in a wheelchair who had a much more frightening way with a whip...

She observes that though he is bad, others at the ranch are worse. Solita desperately clings to Maricruz as they watch Eusebia depart.

Followed by Ester, Octavio confronts Lucia inside. She tells him of Ramiro's visit, his threat, and Maricruz's hunger strike. He mounts up and hurries to the hut where he finds Maricruz laid out on her death cot looking ghastly (well he thinks she does, I think she looks fine).

He kneels by her side as we go to a break.

Back from the break, "Maricruz, Maricruz," he implores. She blinks dramatically and replies appropriately, "Octavio, Octavio." Bravo, writers,  Bravo.

We take a chance to catch our breaths after this powerful scene by joining Alejandro and Carola as they discuss improvements for the casino and his intentions toward her sister Raiza... we'll get back to them in a moment but first...

Octavio makes up with Maricruz.

Over a light lunch, the cousins and Miguel discuss the newlyweds.  Ester agrees to back off. Things are gonna get better.

Having made up, Octavio invites Maricruz to come back to the ranch with him. They come dangerously to having makeup sex right there in the hut, but fortunately she is weak from her couple of days of starvation. Phew.

Back with Al and Caro, basically he is lonely, he knows that Raiza is looking out for Raiza but if he can't find his daughter... well, Raiza is not exactly bad company either so far now he will neither encourage or discourage her. As for the casino, his philosophy varies slightly from Carola's. He thinks that people come to gamble and she thinks that they come for a good time. Both agree that it should be profitable. Yawn.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Maricruz is abed and being pampered by her designated Nana, India Maria. Soup, advice, and encouragement. Both Octavios are there. Life is good.

Looks like lunch is still in progress. Octavio joins Miguel, Lucia, and Ester at the table. Ofelia is serving. It's quiet. Octavio notices and asks Ester if mice have eaten her tongue. Nopis, it's just that she's been forbidden to speak with him because of Maricruz's sensitivity. Maricruz is then discussed by all and the consensus is pretty much that Maricruz needs to shape up or ship out before she ends up killing someone.

Upstairs, Maricruz and Octavionito contemplate killing Ester... at least in theory.

Left alone at the table the cousins complain and conspire. Ester is hatching a plan to prey on Octavio's jealousy.

Now outdoors the cousins continue to plot. Lucia has just the right person in mind, a handsome peón, José Antonio. Ester looks wistful, "José Antonio, he's very handsome."

That evening, Eusebio and Ofelia in bed... in the stable... Yikes! They're part of the plan.

Next morning Eusebio takes a moment to terrorize India Maria and a few chickens before finding Maricruz to tell her that he just saw Octavio and Ester kissing... down by the river.

"I"m going to kill her... I'm going to kill her!"

On Monday.

Isa is in intensive care and all the immediate family and friends are awaiting new of her in the lounge área.  JAntos knows that Ruben Olmo suspects him and is about to acto n his suspicions after he picked up a piece of paper with his name and that of the FBI written on it that Olmo accidentally dropped on the floor.

Lo del Nuevo:

Bruno The Bronzed, cousin to Orange Julius Giuliano, aka, El Gusano (tuve-tanning must be a family trait) admits the rotten truth finally to his godmother, Altagracia, about his, GG’s, and Alfredo’s lying to the authorities to save their skins at Santos and Michael’s expense.  Altagracia whacks him across the chops and demands he tell Wendy the truth or else.  He whimpers that he doesn’t want to because it will mean losing her, but Altagracia hisses that it will be his just desserts for having betrayed them all.  He begs her to give him a bit of time to clear Santos’s name and absolve [eximir] him from all culpability.  (Like does she really have any choice?  Grrrr!)

El Coloso demands to know from JAntos where he came up with all that money he plunked down to pay towards Isa’s operation.  JAntos and Fernando tell him to back off and leave together for a little confab.

Meanwhile, Maria and her family worry about where they’ll get the money top pay for everything.  Maria tells Amalia not to think about that now: “—‘Dios squeezes tightly, but he never strangles.’ ”

Isa goes into shock and must be operated on immediately, but of course needs special B negative blood.  Well, waddacoinkydink!  JAntos just happens to have that special type.  He will get hooked up to Isa during the operation and Maria will be there as well, “for the child’s sake.”  El Celoso and Mil Amores are there for Maria’s family to give them emotional support.

Back at the JNTR bar, Don Concho’s wringing his hands because Santos has given notice.  Mirna says PHHHT!  This bar always does well, with or without a Vargas.  Then she reminds him that he’s supposed to be taking her out to dinner.  When he objects she demands and lays down the law:  “—You promised me that you’d be leaving that spider-woman of a wife of yours, but I see that you really aren’t.  So, this relationship ends when I say it does and not before!” He is visibly upset and talks to her in English.  “—Don’t mess with me, you’re playing with fire!”  “—Oh, you’re the one who started the fire.  Now get it together while I go freshen up a bit [darse una mano de gato=lit. give yourself a cat’s paw]

Weekend Discussion: What do you want from the novelas you watch?

It's 2013 and we're watching remakes upon remakes, many of which are barely updated to take more modern attitudes into consideration.  We see more bare flesh than in 1990, but hear no discussion of birth control.  Abortion is still a taboo subject and we see very little about pedophilia.

We're still shocked, however, when a female character is raped and especially when she is particularly vulnerable, like Solecita in Corazon Indomable.  We should be outraged, indeed.

What do you want to see?  How do you want to feel after you see an episode?

I want to see more stories that consistently reflect current human reality.  Women with education and confidence who aren't afraid to face the world on their own terms.   Current attitudes about religion, class structure, education, and human behavior.  What are real workplace dynamics?

Please, no comic relief in the middle of something violent, serious, and/or emotional.  That is bad writing because it interferes with the emotional impact of the main events.  It also makes the whole episode less memorable.

No sudden detours or about-faces; think out a story before committing it to the computer screen.  El Fantasma de Elena could have been a great supernatural story about ghosts and werewolves if some writer hadn't decided three weeks into shooting that they needed to change this to a psycho twin story (though I do give them credit for a great final fate for the villana).

Be consistent with the period of the story.  If you're going to have the characters get DNA tests to show kinship, why don't they have cell phones?

Rant away, amigos.

Qué Bonito Amor #29 (Mex 43-44.1) Thursday 5/23/13 Que Miedoso Crisis

Ruben claims he came to the house to talk to Amalia, not Maria.  He apologizes to her.  She doesn't seem to care for his apology, but offers him a drink.  He hesitates before sitting on the couch and brushes it off with his hand before he does.  Don't worry jackass…poor isn't contagious.

JAntos starts to tell Maria something, but is overcome and they get busted hugging by Colosso.  He mocks her for forgiving him yet again and tells them both to hurry up and get ready for the first set.

Isa's friend still can't get her to wake up and goes running up the hill for help.

Ruben tries to tell Amalia he and Maria are just friends and he wants to support her professionally.  Amalia's like, "Dude, you're married and she's young and hot.  And the fact that you're now getting divorced means I want you even farther away from her!  I don't want her being called a homewrecker on your account!"  Even in the kitchen, Paloma's not buying Ruben's crap about how he and his wife just fell out of love or whatever.  Poor Rebecca comes pounding on the door to tell them that Isa's been run over.

Ay Jalisco has a packed house and Colosso talks to everyone about the set list.  He figures by the second set Maria and JAntos will have broken up again and will delight the audience by airing their grievances in song. He jokes that he'll sing last since JAntos said he only gets applause once JAntos has warmed up the audience for him.  He tells El de la Ponytail to get the musicians on stage, but Susanito hasn't arrived yet.  Colosso and JAntos have words once again about JAntos forgetting his place and not giving Colosso the respect he thinks he deserves.  Yawn.  A otra con ese cancion, Colosso, cause this girl is tired of hearing it!

Corazon Indomable Capitulo 9 Thursday, May 23, 2013 Fun and Games Down at the Ranch; Not So Much Fun in the Woods.

This episode follows two main narrative streams—the continuing “education” of Maricruz at the ranch and the sudden shift in Solita’s life in the wild.   This recap combines scenes for continuity.  If I missed a detail you liked, jump in with it.

Team Maricruz and Team Lucia square off  in a battle over their turf.

  • Gramps brings Monktavio to MC to make her happy.  Meanwhile, human Octavio muses over their future and how to make a living.  He considers leaving MC behind, with Gramps, while he finds work elsewhere.
  • MC’s peaceful time propping her injured foot comes to an end when Lucia joins her on the lawn.  Lucia shows MC the baby clothes she is creating, but their happy moment is interrupted when Monktavio flings himself at Lucia. Shrieking, she informs MC of her monkey allergy. The beast is banished to the bedroom forever!
  • Octavio attempts to sell 10 cows to a neighboring rancher. Sad to say, the poor quality cattle aren’t worth buying, so no deal, no money for our chulito.  He returns to the ranch to learn that he and MC are expected to turn out in some decent toggery for a formal lunch with the Riveras, old friends.  MC protests, but Octavio insists.  MC puts on a longer halter dress, similar to Lucia’s wardrobe.  No word on where or how she got it.

PEAM # 54-5/23/13- Foolishness, Confusion and Where Is The Light???

Good evening all!  I’m not sure what is going on but for some reason my DVR decided to do its own thing tonight.  I usually watch twice to get all of the details but tonight if I have left out anything feel free to add it.

We begin at the hospital with Rogelio kissing Alma and she thought bubbles to her kiss with Jesus.

The Ice Princess bids Valentina good night sans the list of “sterile to -dos.”

Marsela and Elias try to bid Chatita good-bye but Chatita detains them.  What is she up to???  Chatita plays mother to Marisela and Marisela begs her not to tell Elias about her dad’s real job.

Jesus continues his bedtime story of the Helper and The Princess.  He tells her that the Helper pretends to be the Prince because the Groom did not arrive in time to go to the class with the Princess.  The Groom was asleep and missed the class. The Helper changed into a Prince, and kissed the Princess.  Valentina wanted to hear more of the story but Jesus bid her goodnight.

Chatita plays her forgetful game and questions Elias about his marriage situation.  She wants to know where he’s living since he is angry with Jesus and can’t stay at the hotel because he doesn’t have any credit cards.  If he wants to reconcile with his wife, why is he going out with Marisela.  Not a good idea!!!

Corazon Indomable #8 Wed. 5/22 A Cameo Guest Appearance, a Breakup and a Makeup

(I combined certain scenes for the purpose of a more flowing recap and continuity)

The Argument:  The guest appearance? Why it’s none other than Paula Abdul portraying Maricruz at the party. Paula and Octavio are discussing what happened at the party in their bedroom. Octavio lays it down that he wants a divorce. Paula calls him a liar, that he said he cared about her and would care about her forever, but now wants a divorce. He says he doesn’t know if he ever cared for her or just pitied her.
Lucia interrupts the moment and insists on talking to Octavio. He comes out and she asks about Maricruz and if she can help. He replies that it’s all her fault for what has transpired, right down to the adorned dress,  but the lying liar lies again, saying that MC asked for it to be altered. Meanwhile, Maricruz continues sobbing saying her mother had the same problem with a womanizing husband.

Qué Bonito Amor #28 (Mex 41.5-42) Wednesday 5/22/13 Patín de Diablo, Swings, and sneakers with lights

Scenes were re-arranged for continuity......

Elvira figures she's got it made and swears Maria will pay for what she did years ago.

Meanwhile, Maria sits in her room and.....what else, cries

Los Battling Bickersons

Ruben and Lorena battle over her failed plan.  She's appalled he would dare mention Maria's name in her home.  She blames Maria for ending their marriage.  Ruben sees it differently; they're the only ones to blame for the end of their marriage and warns her not to go near Maria again.  “Oh yeah?  Who's gonna stop me? I'm capable of doing anything to get that intruder out of our lives, you understand?”  Ruben assures her that even if she were to succeed in removing Maria from their lives, better yet even if Maria didn't exist, he still wouldn't return to her.  He stopped loving her many years ago.  It would be best if they could just come to an agreement.  Lorena swears she will never (jamás!) grant him a divorce.  She'll die first.

Amores Verdaderos #136 Wed 5/22/13 This is only a test!

Well I've got two lovers and I ain't ashamed ♪♪
While Vikki and her old flame, Carlos González, are getting reacquainted in the high-rise luxury apartment, the Big Angel is in his boss's studio, fussing over roses and candles, checking his tie in the mirror and fretting over the time.  It's getting late.  Where is the señora Victoria?  He plays with a blank canvas on the easel and then seems to have an idea.  Smiling broadly, he picks up a paint brush.

Vikki seems to let her guard down.  She gives honest answers to Carlos's questions about her marriage and her family.  Carlos is honest about at least one thing: he still resents Aníbal for the way he was treated twenty-five years ago. But not only does he lie about his work, he plays dumb: Adriana may be working with a Catalán film-maker named Joan Constantín.  Do you know him?  Nope, never heard of him.

Carlos takes Vikki's hand and stands very close to her.  [Too close, buster.  The Patio folks at the Arriaga table don't like this guy one bit.]  It has been so many years and yet he trembles in her presence just as he used to do.  Does she feel the same?  Vikki ducks the question.  She thought he'd never forgive her for not having the courage to chose him over Nelson Brizz.  [Listen honey, he never has forgiven you!]

Alma is there, she has the right as the girlfriend, but Jesús is also there (in a very bad moment to discuss about lies, sex and videotapes), Verónica gets there too, Fernando, Discua, Susana, Patricia, Elías, Melchor, Gaspar y Baltazar...

PEAM, Tuesday 5/21/13 (#52): Thanks, I Needed That

(Video here. This isn't the one I remember most vividly, but it's the best I could find.)

REWIND: Valentina asks Eli if it's true that he and Mommy are getting divorced.

Rogue's car runs out of gas, and he abandons it on the road. He doesn't pull off to the side of the road, mind you. He just leaves it on the-right-of-way while he and Patymelt hike to the nearest gas station, 1 km away. (Don't cry for them - that's less than one mile.) He lets Paty carry the gas can. (He'd better hope she doesn't have a lighter. She is fighting for him why, exactly? He is racking up a serious karma bill.) She points out that he has a sunburn on just one side of his face.

At the premarital counseling, Padre Diego wants Alma and Chucho to tell the group how they met. Chucho summarizes this entire telenovela so far, starting with the falling bucket in Episode Two. He reveals everything that's in his heart for Alma.

Alma sniffles as Chucho concludes his story. He says they eventually realized that they couldn't live without one another. Alma's nose turns pink. Their audience demands that they kiss. The priest roars his approval.

Embarrassed and relieved, Alma and Chucho rush back to their seats - but the padre isn't done with them yet. Now it's Alma's turn to explain why their love will endure. Alma says that... Rogelio... (it took her a moment to remember his name) is noble and loyal and would never betray her or lie to her. He's not selfish, he helps her whenever he can, and he's her best friend, offering unconditional friendship. He's sensitive and optimistic, always with a smile even at the worst of times, and always finding the bright side. She thanks God for that bucket and also for the patience her prometido has with her. She'll always trust him. It's hard enough to find someone with all these fine qualities who also loves you. If one of them falls down, the other picks him/her up. Always respectfully, with care and a smile. It is unconditional love. Our love is true and forever.

Thunderous applause. More praise from the padre.

Is it possible that Alma realizes that Chucho is the other half of her orange - and that Rogue is a lemon?

Qué Bonito Amor #26 (Mex 38.2-39) Monday 5/20/13

Capitulo 38.2: Pretense and Denial

Mendoza Apartment: La vipora de Elvira enters the Mendoza apartment to return the sombrero to Amalia along with her poisonous lie about Jorge Alfredo spending the night with her. Maria – in a classic case of bad timing – arrives just in time to hear this. Amalia asks Elvira why she didn't return the sombrero to Jorge Alfredo and gets the response that it is being returned “to its proper owner” because something this elegant can't belong to someone who doesn't value it. However, Amalia appears to have Elvira's number at least in one way: She calls her on her lie, saying she recognizes her evil intentions. She tells Elvira carefully that she is of low moral character. Elvira pretends to be on some high horse, demanding to know how Almira dares talk to her that way. Almira answers “the same way you dare to come here to disturb the peace of this house. Ge out of here and leave my daughter alone. Get out of here and don't return if you don't want me to confront your parents and tell them what sort of 'person' you really are.” Perhaps shocked that a woman like Amalia has told her off so effectively the nasty bitch departs saying “I'm going. This is like talking to a dog.” Maria follows her out. Amalia doesn't like that and we don't either.

PEAM #51, 05/20/13 - True Confessions of Love, True Confessons of Crime, and More Love and More…

The drowning of Fernando continues with candles and hosannas. Pati prepares the potent potion for Roguey in a good glass of wine.  Valentina shares her happiness at having spent some great playtime with her Papa Elias now that he is back. The mental giant in a mini girl body asks if PE and MamaBear are going to divorce.  Mama nods yes.

Alma visits the poor hospital ward offering Panfilo a private hospital to better his care.  He humbly says wait until tomorrow, his foot will probably be much better. There is no need for her to spend her money.  She asks for a hug at least, which he gladly and generously grants calling her daughter.

Fernando begs for mercy but she calls on the cosmos and divine light to bless this dunking torture, I mean baptism.  The enthusiastic acolytes keep him under so long and everyone gets scared then it gets scarier as he has disappeared when they try to pull him out.  Everyone panics as we see Fernando's body cast over a small water way then hang prone and motionlessly in the water.

Paty presents her passionate potion as Roguey drinks enthusiastically, seems he only tastes the delicious wine.

Corazon Indomable, Capitulo 6 – Monday, 05/20/2013: After a Night of Passion and Wedded Bliss, a Morning-After Full of Unpleasantries

Recap by LatinaInMD

It looks like the writers selected this episode to fully test our “Eeewww-Meter.”  We begin as Grandpa Ramiro leads Maricruz away from the shack, with Solita and La India close behind them, but no Moctavio in sight.

Eeewww #1 - Maricruz is still wearing the excessively torn and grimy potato-sack dress she wore at her wedding, thrown over the nightie she used on her wedding night, and very likely over the same underwear.  (Guess gramps couldn’t borrow that Quinceañera dress Maricruz requested, and her bell-sleeved dress must have been too clean and white, too frilly and not torn enough, to pass muster as a wedding dress.)  Maricruz asks gramps if he doesn’t love her anymore and wants her to go away never to return.  He says no, but reminds her that she is now a married woman and her husband is “the boss” and may get angry if he comes home and doesn’t find her. Maricruz grudgingly agrees to return; hardly the attitude of a blissful newlywed.

Back at the hacienda, Lucia tells Ofelia she is pleased that Maricruz took off like a wild child, as this will make it easier for her to “entangle her” in her intended schemes, so that Octavio will have no choice but to dump her.

Riding their horses side-by-side at a gentle trot, Octavio and Miguel seem more like buddies than feuding brothers.  Octavio shares with Miguel that he knows not what awaits him, but what he can “sincerely” tell him is that each day he feels more attracted to Maricruz, to her sweetness and great love for him.  He says he thinks she is the “ideal woman” to be the mother of his children.  Miguel says what Octavio feels for Maricruz is pity.  Octavio says maybe so, but he can help her improve herself and teach her good manners, and there’s a chance he will stay with her on the ranch and work so both of their families can prosper.  (Did one night of passion transform El Chulito?!)

Amores Verdaderos #133 Fri 5/17/13 Some Gotta Win, Some Gotta Lose, Everybody's Got The Blues

Betty Delivers the Bad News to Her Mama Pau
We start this epi with Betty showing Pau the results of her pregancy test, that the low one raped her and how she broke up with Santino. Pau is beyond words, in fact, she is very upset. She doesn't want Betty to break up with Santino. She didn't like him at first but now feels he is a good guy for her. Betty also tells her about the phone call from the low one and that he's watching her and if he catches her with Santino, she'll never see Guillo again. Pau is really upset now and wants to tell Frankie. No telling Frankie, Betty says. He is going to see Nikki in Miami this evening, don't ruin that and whatever the Pau does, she is not to tell Frankie. Pau promises, but she isn't liking it. She'd rather Frankie knew about all this cause when he finds out he'll be pithed. Betty says she'll tell him eventually but right now he deserves some happiness.

The Foyer of the Balvanera Manse, Where All Pertinent Bidness Takes Place
Adri and the Angel are talking about his new duties as her bodyguard. They won't be much and he'll have lots of free time. Ms Vikki joins them and even suggests to the Angel that he can take some agronomy classes on line and get his degree. Who would have thunk? He can even use the computer in her study if he wants to. Well, it's never to late for a degree, and hey he can ask Santino about taking some security classes this way too. Awesome! Adri is sad that Ms Vikki is leaving tomorrow and wants to know when her flight leaves. Of course, here comes the FF being his nosey self and butts into the convo wanting to know what is this about Ms Vikki leaving. Ms Vikki tells him she is going to Buenos Aires and FF turns to the Angel and says he's lucky to be going to such an interesting country, provided if he has ever been out of the country before. Ms Vikki snaps on the FF and tells him Angel isn't coming with her. He wants to know if she is going, gasp** alone? She tells him it's none of his bidness. Adri pipes up that Angel is her bodyguard now, and Ms Vikki tells him she is going with her amante. Cara de impactado de FF! Same with Angel for that matter. He didn't see that coming!

Qué Bonito Amor #25 (Mex 37-38.1) Friday 5/17/13 La Cucaracha’s Revenge or The Mexican Hat Dance Begins, Courtesy of Elvira

Sad Sack de Santos wasn’t able to serenade his way back into Maria’s life this time and got kicked off the balcony by Amalia to boot; La Vampira de Elvira has plans to deliver JAntos’ sombrero to its rightful owner, Maria’s mama, in order to get back at him for insulting and rejecting her at the party the night before.

Lo Del Nuevo:
[some things are condensed to keep down the confusión-ed.]

JAntos has no choice but to climb back down from the balcony.  He walks back home, sad but hopeful.  Maria, meantime, gets ready for class and thinks weepily, if not sleepily, back to her shock at seeing Elvira sitting on JAntos’s lap and remembers Coloso’s warning that JA isn’t the angel [pera en dulce] she thinks he is when he showed her the photo of JA and Elvira kissing in the car.

Back at Daniela’s apartment, Daniela and Pam are scandalized to see Elvira swapping spit with El Coloso after swearing she’s so interested in Jorge Alfredo.  Oh, it’s just a casual thing, like Dani kissing El Baritono the night before, remember?   Or was that so casual, asks vicious Vi?  Dani swears it was and is.  El Coloso and Vi give Dani a hard time about telling him it was her birthday party (not to mention the rest of an assorted variety of lies to all the boys, right guys and galls?

Santos checks in on Irasema, but she’s waiting for him already.  She shows him the huge 4 foot bouquet of flowers from Sue and asks if he really knows what she does for a living?  No. Well, she hates the thought of the poor guy feeling like a jerk when he finds out she’s really a hooker.  Truth is, no man has ever given her a thing, let alone some flowers.  Either he’s in love with her or she’s awakened some sort of overpowering sentiment in him now, she tells JAntos.  Susanito’s the only man who has ever treated her decently in her entire life, she says pensively.
________________________________________

Sue, meanwhile, is making love to his mop while washing Mama’s floors and whistling while he works.  Mama Mancia cannot imagine what’s come over her boy.

Irazema turns around and notices a certain sad look now in JAntos’s gaze and says she knows that look; that he and Maria have fought with each other and are on the outs.  He has to admit that he’s been a fool.  (Viewerville seconds that—not putting his foot down with Elvira, preferably on her throat.)  Maria was angry enough to call it quits between them and he’s sure she means it—this time.  If he loses her it would be losing the best thing in his life, he says mournfully.  Ah, laments Irazema, we waste love completely with grudges and spitefulness [rencores].  No she’ll come back to him, assures Irazema.

Vi tells Coloso and the others that with what she’s got planned with JA’s forgotten sombrero, she’s going to put the final nail in the coffin of Maria and JAntos’s relationship.  How?  She’ll make sure that Maria finds out he left it with her after a night of supposed passion by giving it to Amalia directly.

At Maria’s, Amalia tries giving her lovelorn daughter some motherly advice.  Either break it off completely with Jorge Alfredo or accept him as he is, warts (like Elvira) and all.

Meanwhile, Michael heads off to trial and naively proceeds to fall into the prosecuting attorney’s word trap while trying to put his and Santos’s friendship in a positive light.  It wasn’t the $225,000 car apparently, but the $10 million they found in the trunk of it that Michael can’t explain properly.  Michael and his lawyer look at each other like QTH? And, why didn’t you tell me/us?  (Ever heard of full disclosure?  I’d get the lawyer on lousy and inept representation and sue for a mistrial and a retrial so fast it would make his boss’s and the judge’s heads swim.)  He’s given eight long years in prison for his loyalty.

After school that day, Rodrigo and Paloma go spend the rest of the day in the park together.  Vanessa and her posse follow them and try to harass her.  They show what jerks they are by purposely crashing their rubber canoe into Paloma’s and knocking her into the water.  Rod jumps into the shallow pond and saves her.  They do the same to Vanessa and her nasty little girlf’iends—only they have to save each other.  FF>>

Maria tells her friends from the bar on their way to school that she does really believe JAntos’s story.  Lety tells her that the third time’s the charm and to dump his beauteous but two-timing backside for good.  (Thanks for nothin’, girlfriend.)

Santos heads over to Fernando for consolation and advice.  JAntos is ready to turn himself into the authorities and who cares what they do with him.  First thing, says Mil Amores, is to retrieve the sombrero.  Second, is to stop the dramatics.   Third, we suppose, is not to think that he’s all alone in this.  Mil is his carnal, carnalito.  “—Yeah, we are very good friends, but you don’t do anything to help me!”  Ok, well first realize that that vamp Elvira’s got your number dude [tomar la medida=got you pegged] and she’s always getting the better of you, says Mil.  No, argues Santos, I am chivalrous—to extremes like most tn gálans.  [caballero=knight or chivalrous gentleman]  Yeah, jokes Mil, and all you need is some armor!  (Good one, dude!  As in protection from Elvira, right? How about some garlic instead?)  Santos doesn’t laugh.  He’s reached his limit, he laments.  “--Next time….no, there won’t be a next time! Cuz, I’m going to make her pay for everything she’s done.”  Mil snickers in disbelief.  Really? Ok, first thing is to get that hat back and then Mil will act as his witness to his good behavior at the party.

First stop, though, is to a computer site so he can catch up on Michael’s trial news.  Santos thinks to himself that Michael has got to testify against him if he wants to save himself.  He doesn’t care if the guy does condemn him.  He wants his friend to go free.

A while later JAntos and Mil stop by Dani’s apartment asking for the sombrero.  Pam explains that Vi took it home with her.  She calls up Elvira who wants to speak to JA.  JA naively takes her word that he’ll “have the hat back long before he needs it for his performance that night” at Daddy’s club.  Mil and JAntos leave.  Sucker!!!  They start talking in the hall and figure Vi meant giving the hat to him at the boarding house.  Ok, he’s going to get the hat back, so now what’s worrying him, asks Mil?  JAntos says it’s what he read in the L.A. newspapers about his buddy’s trial.  The problem is that Michael is the only one who can swear to the fact that it was Santos’s lawyer himself that advised him to flee the country and become a fugitive.

Gloria, meanwhile, is sitting in her bedroom brush her hair and sadly remembering her nasty encounter with the reluctant and irresponsible de Oscar the Goof.  She prays to the virgencita to help her out of this fix so her son won’t be left without a parent if something happens to her now that she’s beginning her treatments.

Mil Amores tries getting JAntos to eat and forget his sorrows for a while.  JAntos just wants to mope. His problem must be that it’s the first time he’s ever been in love, says Mil.  JAntos is in a snitty mood and tells Mil that he’s only going to fall in love once in his life and that Bonita is that love of his life.  The waitress overhears and remarks “¡Qué bonito amor!”  (¡Salud!)

Maria can’t stop thinking of JAntos and Elvira intertwined on the couch the night before, either.  Finally she gives up on her test and hands in what appears to be a blank test.  (That’s right.  Flunk out and punish yourself because of Elvira’s selfish mischief.  Makes total sense to me….not!)

Back in the barrio, Sue hands El Aventurero a plastic bag with a surprise in it for his girlfriend. Aventurero thinks Sue’s just saying this so the guys in the band will stop giving him such a hard time.  Nope!  He says he really does have a girlfriend and he plans on inviting her to the bar that night!  Well, ok then.  Good for him, too, since the guys all thought he was more than a little bit light in the guaraches, adds Aventurero.   No, swears Sue, she’s such a beauty it’ll knock their socks off and they’ll be eaten up with envy!  El Aventurero has got to promise not to say a word to his mama, Mancia, though.  Okidokie.

Mama Mancia, meanwhile, is giving a tarot reading for anxious Annie who feels something is truly wrong.  She warns Annie that the cards say that if she is determined [empeñada] to follow this love of hers so blindly that her life will be in grave danger.

At the same time, Fernando is on the phone with Rosana whose whole face is now fully black and blue. She’s desperately begging for him to take advantage of her hubby’s leaving the house in order to get her out and hide her at his place—like hubby wouldn’t think of that first?  He promises to come for her once hubby leaves.  JAntos promises to help him with this.  “--You have no idea how bad this brute beats her!  He won’t do it again, though!”

Back in L.A., Guiliano and Bruno are enjoying a bit of unhappy hour as El Gusano Ese pressures Bruno not to just live with Wendy, since that way he doesn’t get to inherit her milliones de dollars.  Bruno insists he’s not with Wendy for her money.  As it is he feels like is white trash, aka, human debris.  Don’t play game with El Padrino!  Marry her and get hold of her millions. Bruno’s going to have to get that money (the ten million?) back, cuz otherwise Wendy’s going for a one-way swim with the fishes!  (Ehhhhh!  And?)

JAntos learns from the news that Michael’s been found guilty and sentenced.  He’s bummed.  He and Fernando get to the bar.  Sue finds him and hugs him.  He tells him he’s so grateful for letting him know love!  The barkeep, Pichi, misinterprets the meaning and hints to JAntos he now thinks that JAntos apparently switch-hits, aka, is batting for both teams.  JA teases and chases him in a supposed moment of hilarity.  JAntos is about to have a swig when he sees Maria enter the bar for rehearsal; but she refuses to speak to him.  El Celoso de Coloso enters and yells at him the obvious, that she doesn’t want to speak to him!    “—Ok, boys!  We’ll rehearse and start with Si Nos Dejan…although it seems Elvira won’t!”  Guffaws break out around the room from the Mariachis at JAntos’s expense.

Ruben walks into the bar just then, to ask Maria’s pardon publicly, the same way she was humiliated at his house, and to pay his bill for the serenade.  He tells her this in front of the band.   It’s what you say here but didn’t say there, adds JAntos.  Fernando seconds this from across the bar.  She accepts the apology politely enough, but the Mariachis refuse to accept his dirty money from Mr. Fir Tree [abetas]—or is it “El Colmo” [thatch/the brim/full to overflowing]—oh, yeah, Mr. Olmo [Elm], they snidely tease. “—Well, aside from the lack of education and upbringing and such as your wife says, we refuse your apologies and your check.  Why don’t you deposit your ‘humaneness’ outside?”  Col says it quite a bit more roughly. “—So go back where you came from!”  Ruben says he’ll handle things with the administrator of the bar whatever accounts I have pending with you all…..(which could be taken any number of ways, I suppose).  He leaves amongst the catcalls.  Col goes over to Maria and says take this as a lesson.  A big wallet doesn’t bring happiness like some people believe….like El Ponchito, say.

A bit later El Sonador is asking Mirna for an advance, but Mirna refuses.  He knows darned well that El Concho doesn’t give out advances.  But it’s for some old lady friend he tries to help out.  Tough tootsies!  Lourdes overhears and walks into the office especially to interrupt her and pull rank.  “—Give him the advance, Mirnita!  Remember this bar is as much mine as his.”   Mirna swallows the hiss and with a fake smile, the fir on her back sky high, says,”--Yes, Sra.” She then asks Mirna where JAntos lives; she gets the directions and says she’ll be back later.  She stops a moment by the door and smiles snootily.  “—Get used to me being here more often.  I have to look out for my investments.”  El Soñador finds Lourdes in the hall and makes a special effort to thank her afterwards.  No problem.  Besides, there aren’t enough caring men in the world who’d do something like that, she tells him.

Lety and El Aventurero meet up in the hallway.  He tells her how pretty she looks today.  She lowers her eyes, embarrassed and thanks him.  He raises her chin so she has to look him in the eyes.  He swallows hard, obviously fighting the mounds of fluttering butterflies in his stomach. “—Don’t lower your gaze.  Don’t ever lower your gaze.”  Wow!  Who knew?

That evening JAntos is dressed and ready to go, but still no sombrero.  There’s a knock on his front door.  “—About time, Elvira!!”  It’s Mama Lourdes there instead, looking like the Big Bad Wolf in drag.  “—Well! As long as it’s Elvira, right?”

Back at the bar,  Mirna’s having a hard time getting El Concho to give in to her (supposedly) seductive kisses.  She asks what’s wrong.  He tells her they’ve got to end their relationship. Cara de what the effing heck did you say de Mirna.

Back at JAntos’s place, JAntos tries to politely explain why he thought it was Elvira at the door, but Lourdes won’t listen.  She says she warned him to steer clear of her daughter, but he insisted the rapist, abusive, poor-as-a-church-mouse slob!  He finally loses patience and yells back that he won’t permit her to insult him in his own house!  She slaps the crap outta him and then accuses him of trying to climb out of poverty by any means he can, and that apparently includes getting involved with her daughter, right?  “—What’s your price, Vargas?  I know all about playboys like you.  How much do you want to forget about my daughter and leave me in peace?”  (Hell, take the money and run, buddy boy!)

Across the street in Maria’s colonia, Elvira knocks on Amalia’s front door.  When Amalia opens it she walks in with JA’s sombrero.  She says he left in in her friend’s apartment after being so overjoyed and excited at seeing her there that he up and forgot it. Cara de yeah- so-why-bring-it-to-my-house-instead-of-the-bar-you-stoooooopid-scheming-wench-de Amalia.  Just at that moment who should appear but la pobre de Maria del Bar-y-Oh!

Corazon Indomable, #5 Friday, 05/17/13 A wedding, a wedding reception, a wedding night…But where is the diamond?

Yesterday Octavio and Maricruz became novios and kissed in front of the village gossips (que escandalo!); Octavio asked Abuelo for Mari’s hand in matrimony; Lucia found out she is pregnant, but the poor baby needs to fight for its life because mom is on the verge of a stroke when she finds out who her SIL will be…

Today…
Outside the hut Solita is helping Maricruz wash her hands as Abuelo notices that a while ago Mari didn’t care that much about being clean. Then he asks her what she’s planning to wear for her wedding. With Moctavio on her shoulders (yey!), Maricruz says that she’ll borrow a neighbor’s daughter quinceanera dress. Abuelo is a little worried because tradition says the father of the bride has to buy the dress, but Maricruz reassures him that Octavio won’t mind, since he knows they don’t have money.

Porque el Amor Manda #50: A Bumpy Ride on the Love Train

Decoration Station

Chatita chides Alma and Jesús: Hey, are we workin' or flirtin'? Your butterflies look like turkeys and bats! Hijinks ensue as they dash around painting little cartoons on each other's smocks. This appears to be the home improvement version of the Food Fight -- you know how the couple isn't really in love until they've made a big mess someone else has to clean up. There isn't usually an Alzheimer's patient involved, but hey, modern times.

Lamentation Station

Xoch is crying a river in her apartment, and so is her Mom -- over a telenovela. She tells her real daughter to keep quiet; she can't hear her imaginary friends. After a fraught phone call, Marisela whisks her friend off to  Ricardo's apartment, where the Avon gang has gathered for a sympathy intervention. Even the three sillies are moderately inoffensive, and Julio (of the orange tie and swiveling hips) is absolutely effusive. It seems as if he could have made a play for Xochi any time, but apparently the runny nose and blotchy skin have rendered her particularly attractive. There's a lot of all for one and one for all talk. Xochi wails.

Weekend Discussion: Las Mascotas; Animals in Telenovelas

We don't get enough animals in telenovelas that are characters.  We saw many prize bulls [Salud!] in Amor Bravio, horses in others, but rarely do these animals have names or enough screen time.  Animals are such big parts of many of our lives it's hard to believe that more novela characters don't have pets.  The mascotas in novelas, though, are often amusing and endearing.

In El Cuerpo del Deseo, the hero had a dog who was smart enough to spot his master after his spirit changed bodies (Dog may actually be star Mario Cimarro's dog):

Cuando Me Enamoro had a beautiful horse named Gitana that was much beloved by the heroine:

Qué Bonito Amor #24 (Mex 35.2-36) Thursday 5/16/13 Que Bonita Fiesta…not!

JAntos taunts Colosso from upstairs about the upended water bucket and tosses his hat down to him.  Ponytail mariachi ribs him a bit, then asks Doña Mancia what's up with Susanito--he never showed up for work yesterday.  Mancia's worried since he came home saying he'd been to "heaven" and he had quite a look on his face this afternoon.

Redheaded mean girl calls Ay Jalisco and talks to Mirna to set up the serenate ambush for the evening.   It's gonna be pricey, but Elvira's willing to pay the price.  Mr. 5ft walked through when the Mean Girls were squealing and jumping up and down.  He asked if they won Justin Bieber tickets.  Yes, dear, because women only get that excited at the prospect of Justin Bieber, clearance sales, and revenge.  Aw, crap, ladies, he may have a point.  Tomorrow, when we balance our checkbooks and there's still money left over after paying all the bills on time (crossing my fingers on that one) let's all jump up and down and squeal, ok?

Maria cleans JAntos up a bit and tells him he'd better choose between his love of fighting with Oscar and his love of her, cause one more fight and it is OVER.   I don't think we believe that any more than he does.  Amalia comes in and asks QTH is going on--she heard from Mancia they were fighting outside.  JAntos avoids answering the question by asking if she's able to see again.  Amalia says it's thanks to him…and don't change the subject!  JAntos starts to justify the fight, but Amalia won't tolerate him and Oscar causing scenes. JAntos apologizes and promises it won't happen again.  Amalia says if it does, he won't be welcome in the house.  Maria backs him up on that.  Then she says that's guys for you, they just don't get it.  On behalf of guys,...hey!  Just cause these two are acting like a couple of idiots doesn't mean all guys are like that!

Corazon Indomable, Capitulo 4, Thursday 5-16-13: Fate Places the Pieces on the Board--Let the Game Begin

Recap by La Paloma

(There were many short scenes flipping back and forth.  Some of these may be combined in the recap. I'm going to learn how to make this shorter.)

Gloom and worry
Don Alejandro hears his doctor's advice to slow down and stay away from work for six months, but isn't happy at the prospect.  His heart condition is a sword over his head and he wishes his daughter were at his side.

At the river and multi-purpose watering hole, Maricruz is rising from her plunge into the depths, meeting the worried Solita mid-stream for a happy reunion.  Up at the hacienda's big house, Miguel rushes in, angrily telling Lucia that Octavio learned about the mortgage on the lands.  Opinions are exposed:  Octavio determined that Miguel will pay for this treachery, Lucia telling Miguel "Don't let him win," Miguel saying he will take consequences and begging Lucia to have faith and she'll still have it all.

Octavio enters to ask Lucia if the room is ready for his future wife, which leads to cross-accusations of lying and scheming from both parties. Lucia, with fake smiles, tries to learn more about the wife's social standing and disposition.  Octavio claims he just might marry him one of them lower-class gals, while Lucia smirks about Miguel's love for her and how Octavio's bride needs this kind of love.

Back at the Hut of Humility, Abuelo and Solita are comforting a weeping Maricruz, who confesses her sorrow is due to the news of Octavio's impending marriage.  Abuelo warns her that Octavio might be just foolin' around and she'd better stay away from the ranch.  Sad eyes from MC.

PEAM #49- 5/17/13- Vero Who Loves Jesus Who Loves Alma Who loves Jesus Who Doesn't Love Xochy.

We begin at the cafeteria with Susana inquiring about what is going on between Jessica and Rogue because Ferny didn’t move a finger for her but Susana sees Jessica going into Rogue’s office on several occasions but before she can lie we are interrupted by Xochy screeching about Marsela’s father needing an amputation.  Rogue wants the money ($50,000 for the  “wedding”) from storage and Fern who has seen the light will have no parts of it. He thought bubbles to the last time when he tried to get the “dirty” money and ended up on the garbage truck.  Rogue yells at his brother and then has the nerve to say do it, it’s an order and don’t act childish.
The secretarial cartel wants to go to the hospital to support their buddy.  Marisela leaves with Chatita.  Chatita lets Marisela know that her friends love you and you lie and deceive them.  Your lies will catch up to you one day.  Chatita has a convenient memory lapse.

Rogue is overheard by his FIL making plans with Patty, Alma’s best friend. Rogue lies and says that it’s a collaborator.  He is going to Toluca to see the President of Avon and is on his way to the airport.  Sebastian warns Rogue to be careful, he almost lost his life over a woman who wasn’t his wife and lost his money, it also broke up his relationship with his daughter, Alma.  He lets Rogue know that Alma won’t tolerant unfaithfulness. He won’t judge him but his priority is his daughter and he better no let her suffer. Paty is waiting for Rogue with tablets. (Are they blue??)

Corazon Indomable #3 Wed. 5/15

An almost kiss, an almost marriage proposal, an almost end of life, and no monkey sightings

Eusebio and Octavio are still having their argument about helping Maricruz and her family. Octav warns him to leave her alone and don’t mess with her. Eusebio doesn’t like this order.

Nuevo: Back at the shack at night, while the girls are sitting by a fire, Gramps is pulling out a box that was hidden under a mattress. Inside are a bunch of letters, and he pulls out a piece of paper with the address of Maricruz’s father. Commenters here were certain Grandpa knew where Daddy resided. Gramps has a flashback to his daughter (who looks uncannily, no, exactly, like Maricruz. She could be her twin) who is on her deathbed pleading to a younger, dark colored wig wearing Gramps to not tell Maricruz where her father is. So he talks himself into keeping quiet. But he does reveal that the dad does care about his daughter and has written many times to come see them over the years.

Amores Verdaderos #131 Wed 5/15/13 The course of true love never did run smooth … but come on, this is ridiculous!

Note: Balzac (heh heh) and the Snails have the night off.

Some of our characters are settling cozily into their misery.  Some are plotting revenge.  And at least one is prepared to fight for his happiness.  Not a night for champagne on the Patio, perhaps, but no reason not to set out some pitchers of beer and munch on a handful of Tostachos …

José Ángel brings Guzmán up to speed
The señora Victoria knows everything and now the Ferretti is out on her … er … ear.  And there's something else Guzmancito needs to know: Kendra poisoned Nikki against him.  JA details the dirty tricks, including GigoloGate.  Now Frankie understands.

PEAM #48- 5/15/13: How To Teach a Bobblehead Doll To Dance Without Tipping Over

Dec 12th or juárever day Osorio decides it is. Juárever!

Discua is home so she won't be able to enjoy the ''active pause'' which is a fancy way to say that you will spend more time in the changing room than doing yoga. That's  supposed to improve work efficiency, but if I were Alma, I'd better let them gossip and have their way with the carrot cake, since that is something they already manage to do well....
Tomorrow, Dec. 13th. or 21st. for that matter, someone will have to tell her so she is prepared with her sporty outfit ;-)
Jesús, who besides being a ''Licenciado'',  a pizza delivery guy, a chef, a pet sitter, a party planner, campaign designer and mole vendor outside movie theaters on Sundays, still have time to teach yoga!!

Don't do good things that look like bad things, used to say Jesús grandmother but he has forgotten all advice, lost in Alma's green eyes. During the waste of, I mean, the active pause, there was plenty of people she could have chosen to ''do the yoga with'' but she chose Jesús, and him, with that bad judgement (remember that last night he spent the night at Verónica's when he could have easily declined that offer without damaging  his relationship with Valentina -juárever). Jessica takes the chance to tell XTL how slow she was not grabbing him before Alma did, and Ricardo uses his Unefón to snap a close up picture (that later changes to a completely different shot) to post it both via closed circuit and printed in manila envelopes! Ain't nobody got time fo' dat!!
Well, thanks to the ''active pauses'' now the staff is energized and well rested to do all this and their usual workload too!!! Hahahaha! Allow me to laugh here! Will it be love? Reads the caption on the picture and Jesús is making a very huge fuss about it, when in the beginning, he didn't mind. Holding, pulling, pushing,  breathing, and gets lost in Alma's green eyes when THE WHOLE OFFICE STAFF INCLUDING ROGELIO AND FERNANDO WERE WATCHING!!! Echate esa! Can you imagine this in real life?

CI: Love Among The Wretched Blooms

Capítulo 2

Eusabio is pretty damned slow about following Ocatavio’s orders to fetch Maricruz’s ration of milk and food for that day.  His lips say sí, but his body language says “No, not if I have anything to say about it!” He doesn’t, but his mouthy, jealous girlfriend, Ofelia, does.  Mari will have to wait till Ofelia and Useless get it on in the storeroom first.

Meanwhile, Octavio gives Mari a broad hint that her personal hygiene could use a boost.  If she’d bathe and put on a clean dress afterwards and maybe a pair of shoes then she’d look a whole lot prettier, he says.  Useless finally comes back with the milk and foodstuffs but gives them both grief saying Lucia is going to have a fit.  Tav says get over it, that he’ll explain and handle things, not to worry all ready.  Mari takes the stuff and Tav learns that her pet monkey was named after him.  Apparently that makes Tav feel special and he smiles a sparkling smile that should send shivers down to Mari’s tippy toes.

Mari is so keen on pleasing Octavio that she bathes with soap, washes and combs her hair, puts on a clean dress and even the old pair of shoes she has, even though they’re too small for her.  She heads over immediately afterwards to show her “new look” to him.

PEAM, Tuesday 5/14/13 (#47): Woof!

Chucho finishes the latest installment of the fairy tale with Valentina: The queen is going to marry the bad guy, and her helper is invited to the wedding! Val recognizes that the helper will be sad, and suggests that he should try to get the queen to marry him instead. Oh, you crazy kids, with your hi-fi record players and newfangled ideas!

Paty tells Rogue her price for not sending Alma that video of him and Jessica: He has to take her to the ranch this weekend. (He's getting married the weekend after that!) From now on, he has to treat her the way she deserves. (He replies sarcastically.) And he can't fool around with that trollop (Jessica) any more. Also, he must beg Paty's forgiveness, and say it like he means it. Louder! And on his knees! No, she's just kidding about the knees - but he will have to apologize again, in bed, right now!

Valentina begs Chucho to stay overnight. Vero agrees to let him spend the night in another room. He really doesn't want to, and says he can't because he didn't bring any pajamas. Vero says that's no problem: he can wear some of Eli's. He doesn't want to do that. Then Val says it's only fair: she stayed at his place, so now he can stay at her place! She pelts him with porfas until he relents. She asks for another episode of the fairy tale, so he tells her about the wedding gown. Now it's time for bed. She says a prayer of thanks for letting her daddy stay overnight.

Speaking of daddies, Alma's dad calls Rogue to let him know that Alma's looking for him, to thank him for the creepy bunny with the tulips. (Why isn't she trying his phone? Duh??) Patymelt distracts Rogue; Sebastian can tell something's up. Sorry, poor choice of words. "Are you with someone?" he asks. Rogue says that's just his dog! He whispers at her to bark like a dog. She obliges with enthusiasm.
