La Tempestad Cap #18 Wed, 21 August - Estercita pitches a fit and Dam strikes out

Alternate Title: Estercita, you’re the best act in town but he’s just not that into you.

Has The Wedding March ever sounded more like an execution march than at this poor excuse for a wedding? Must be those drums. I fully expect a firing squad to be waiting inside the church for Dam Fab. But no, it’s worse. It’s Padre T and he’s ready to do the dirty deed. “Up against the wall. Do you take this woman?....”

Pestercita has never looked more lovely, or more victorious. She Sí, Aceptos muy rapido.  DamFab not so much. Muchas caras impactadas throughout the church, while Dam daydream-delays his destiny. All eyes are on him...

Marina is on the boat tapping her feet and ordering Bagre to fire up the engines. She’s tired of waiting for El Cap. Sweetie, may I remind you that you are now down THREE out of SIX crew. Dam, Lolo and Laz are at the church!  As awesome as Marina is I doubt she can pull off this fishing trip.

Back at the execution Padre T urges Dam to respond. Do you accept the annoying one to be your wife? Dam reluctantly Sí, Aceptos and looks ill as he thought bubbles “until death do us part, urp.” We get a quick church scan of who is happy and who is annoyed by this union. The wedding rituals continue joylessly for DamFab, Estercita grins. More glum church scenes ensue. And the “kiss”? Painful.

Corazon Indomable #72 What's that buring smell? Could it be Oblivio's neurons firing?

Hi all. Eli's computer got a virus, so I'm doing the recap today.

So Karim proposes marriage to MA, and Octavio proposes marriage between JA and Ester, well, actually insists on marriage for them.

ShutUpDoris is in a bathing suit this time talking about the usual with Mariana.

Octavio is back at the ranch for another repeat discussion about Ester marrying JA. Ester is so in love that she is willing to live in a shack. Except once the honeymoon phase wears off and that shack has no air conditioning during those hot Mexican summers and a toddler who wants you to hold him all day long and your skin just sticks together in the heat, I think you will regret your decision.

Qué Bonito Amor #92 (Mex 130) Wednesday 8/21/13 Don't take that apple, Maria, the serpent might not like it.

I am subbing tonight, everyone!

BRIEF SUMMARY. Recap is finally done. PUT A FORK IN IT! (Some scenes will be condensed and combined for clarity.)

Refrito with Justo and Amalia commiserating about everything. Justo is grieved because first he lost his wife, and now, apparently JAntos. Amalia is just feeling sorry for herself (as usual). Meanwhile, JAntos and Maria are doing the camping out thing. Justo feels so bad because he wasn't as close to JAntos as he should have been. Amalia can't keep her yap shut, at this sad moment for Justo she again "kindly" admonishes JAntos because he "promised" he'd take care of Maria.

Think of someone else's suffering for a moment, will you, Amalia?

Maria and JAntos are making lunch with a fish he caught. JAntos is apologetic for their predicament and Maria is reassuring him it's okay. He blames Orange Guiliano for their situation.

She reassures him that this isn't his fault.

Justo and Amalia continuing to discuss the sad state of affairs; Amalia thinking that JAntos didn't really love Maria and Justo saying that we don't understand the power of love. Meanwhile, Maria and JAntos share a moment of contentment after their fish lunch.

Happy happy.

PEAM #117-8/21/13: Marisela's Love Is Like A Check With No Funds In Ricardo's Bank of Affection

Recap By Pablo

Laughter is the best medicine and love is the best diet

There's nothing better after a night of passion, than to go to work without having breakfast, because a kiss is more fulfilling than a whole box of cereal. And it doesn't make you fat! Ah! Those low calorie sighs! AND THE MEMORIES!!!

On the other side of the coin, there's nothing better after an attempt of a passionate night, than spent in jail. Fernando and Xóchitl were caught in the car K-I-S-S-I-N-G and that is lewd conduct. I wonder what would have happened if they were sitting on a tree?

Patricia, who looks like Inspector Gadget, gives Alma the fruits of her condition as a klepto to see if she can return it. Looks like Patricia needs occupational therapy because she does that only when she is under a lotta stress. And now she wants to know every naughty detail of last night's lovemaking between Alma and Jesús, since she was the one planning the event. She asks if they did the geisha position, the little goat on the cliff and the 75-6. Besides taking what is not hers, she is very inquisitive... All that energy should be put to work looking for a job, but since she has never done anything else than sleep with Rogelio (and in that area she is so efficient that she even gives Alma advice!), unless it is trying out mattresses in FAMSA, I don't see how can she get a job! Maybe join forces with Alejandra?

La Tempestad, Capitulo 17. August 20th 2013.

Lo De Ayer:
DamFab and Marina chat, they dance, he sings Besame Mucho to her, he asks for a kiss, she is not feeling well and needs some air, he takes her outside. They leave. Bagre tells Lolo that maybe tomorrow there will be no wedding. Outside, DamFab tells Marina that she was brave to come to the bar since it isn't the place for a someone so refined as she is. Marina tells DamFab that she isn't a refined woman. She's a dummy. She never imagined falling in love. She thought that would never happen to her. DamFab tells Marina that she is trembling just like the day he kissed her. DamFab and Marina kiss.

Lo Nuevo:
Marina stops kissing. DamFab tells Marina to not say anything and to just let herself go. Marina passes out into DamFab's manly muscular arms.

At the plaza, Esthercita and Mayuya are happily enjoying their popsicle sticks. A drunk man approaches them and congratulates Esthercita on her upcoming nuptials. Esthercita and Mayuya are disgusted by the drunk and move away. The drunk tells Esthercita that DamFab is having his bachelor party at the bar. Esthercita wants to go and check in on DamFab. Mayuya doesn't want to go to the bar because the women that go into the bar are women that do not have the best reputation. Esthercita drags Mayuya to the bar because she just has to see what her future husband is up to.

CI #71 An Inconvenient Impass: Maricruz Gets The Jump On Octavio And Another Marriage Proprosal

Cap #71

As we jet back to Gold Island for another glimpse of All That Glitters, a mewling Miguel badgers a wary Octavio into covering Miguelito’s medical expenses out of his half of the ranch should things get worse for the baby boy instead of better.  Tav does the decent thing and agrees, but not before ripping his bro a new one for borrowing against their ranch just so he could squander [despilferrar = waste/vernacular trans.: piss away] it all gambling and boozing it up instead of thinking he might need it for his wife and child--not that thinking ahead is generally a personality trait either Narvaez brother has displayed much if at all to date…. Qué Bonito Amor #91 (Mex 129) Tuesday 8/20/13 New Season of Survivor: By the Waters of Babylon

This is Anita reporting in, a last minute substitution.  Apparently CBS and UNI have collaborated for a new season of Survivor.  Stay tuned for the first episode. This is the preview.  Meanwhile, we have a recap to cobble together from all the little snippets we saw.  Bear with me, please.  Here goes (quick and dirty and pretty much from memory).
Ayer
What you saw yesterday, I won’t dwell on mucho, so we can get to the good stuff.  Wendy and Justo have their little father-daughter talk about her fear of OJ and fear for her defenseless little unborn hijo.  Justo mans up and swears he’ll finish off OJ, no matter what the price (even though he just promised Wendy to dedicate his life to his nieto).
Next we see JAntos and Maria exiting the taxi by the side of the road in a deserted, thickly wooded area.  As soon as the taxi departs, guess who drive up, OJ and his henchmen in one car and the other full of the U.S.-Mexican Joint Task Force of Keystone Koppers.  By this time Maria and JA have taken off full speed ahead deep into the woods. (Please, just tighten your beanies for the rest of this.) OJ goes first and apparently knows exactly which way they went.  The USMJTFKK are next and they also know exactly where the two fugitive lovers have gone, but don’t see or hear OJ.
Oh, dear.  JAntos and Maria have been trapped at the edge of a cliff overlooking some angry, churning water. OJ has them in his sights, The USMJTFKK have them covered.  Give UP, we’ve got you.  Maria and Jorge Alfredo look at each other and then look down to see this rushing, swirling white water and sure death.  JA has time to expound to Maria, “Let’s go where no one can judge us.”  With only our love.  One, Two, Three, JUMP. Rats, thinks OJ, he hopes they drown.  Rats, think the Koppers, missed them by a hair.  Jorge Alfredo and Maria disappear into their watery grave.
Hoy
(Some scenes are cut & pasted together as should have been done in the editing room at Televisa and not on CarayCaray.)
At Amalia’s
She’s snuffling that her only reason to live is for her daughters.  Concho appears and gets Amalia all riled up. Concho swears he’s worried about Maria  How dare he even show his face after all the harm he has caused them. He should be ashamed. Concho tries to reason with her that it’s all in the past. Amalia hits him (just figuratively) with the information that it was Elvira that murdered her grandchild.  Concho doesn’t believe it.  Who told her that, anyway?  Amalia answers that it was Mirna.
At Lourdes’ & Elvira’s
Concho is livid.  He confronts Elvira with what he learned about Maria’s accident. Elvira is in denial.
Elivra—I didn’t push her. She fell.
Lourdes—Tell the truth now.
She wants to know who told Concho.
Concho—Mirna
Elvira stomps off blaming her parents for taking Mirna and Maria’s side and never being there for her.  Lourdes admits to being at fault for raising her to be such a spoiled beyotch, but Concho shares the blame as well.  They gave her everything she wanted, but they didn’t give her any values.  Lourdes tries to make Concho see that they have to be together in this situation and leave all the rancor behind.
At JNTR
Mirna is desperately looking for the “key” to her spoils of war.  She’s quite loud about it.  She’s sure Pinchi or Lalo hid it somewhere else.  HaHa, you don’t know it, but the two payasos are right within earshot and listening.  They want to know what she’s looking for. Maybe they ought to tell Concho and Amalia. (P.S. I’m pretty sure she found the key.)  She tries to distract them by getting all sexy up in their faces. It probably would have worked. We’ll never know.  Elvira shows up and tries to throw her out. Mirna doesn’t belong there any more.  HaHa, you don’t know it, but Maria, who owns half the bar, remember, hired her back and Mirna’s on her side now.  Elvira is livid. (I guess it runs in the family.) She takes it out on the poor barkeeps—Get back to work, idiots, she screams.

PEAM, Tuesday 8/20/13 (#116): As the Stomach Turns

A Secret So Secret, Even Evil Elvis Doesn't Know, Which Proves He's an Idiot Like His Dad

Chucho is devastated when Evil Elvis gleefully rejects his loan application. Julio feels guilty, remembering all the grief that he and the other Sillies put Chucho through when he started at Avon; but Chucho says those little pranks were not even in the same league as what Melquiades just did.

What's more, Chucho's innards are still churning. He confides to Julio that there must be something really wrong with him, because for the first time in his life, he's not even hungry. Really! Julio realizes that this must be very serious indeed. It must be the stress. (Chucho then takes a sip of coffee, which cannot possibly help a distressed digestive tract...)

Chucho has a stressful conversation with Alma about a Very Important Dinner that he really doesn't want to deal with, and then Augusto wants to talk about a contest. But Chucho shows him the rejected loan application, and Augusto shakes his head and calls Vicky and tells her to make sure the loan is approved first thing tomorrow.

Augusto doesn't want to talk about Evil Elvis, but Chucho insists and Augusto explains, reluctantly and with great shame, that Melquiades is indeed his son. Augusto has been married three times and had seven children, and that was expensive enough. But then one day his second wife's maid Otilia let him know she'd given him an additional child, Melquiades. It was confirmed with a DNA test.

Augusto says that nobody else knows about this - not even Melqui himself. Chucho looks stunned. I'm sorry to say this makes all three of them look like idiots: Augusto for thinking no one suspects; Chucho for not suspecting; and Evil Elvis for not realizing that he's getting extra-special treatment.

Anyway, Augusto never gets around to telling Chucho about the contest, whatever it is. He lets Chucho go home, leaving Julio and Aida alllll alone in the office. After much hemming and hawing, they agree to go out for coffee.

La Tempestad, Capitulo 16. August 20, 2013.

Bagre asks Damian if he really wants to leave his boat. Damian feels it’s no longer his. Bagre thinks there is still time to recoup it. Damian says he needs to distance himself from her. He will go crazy if he can’t love her freely. Bagre suggests going out for drinks.

On deck, Damian runs into Marina and asks her what’s she’s doing here. You know while you are still looking for another captain, I’m still the boss here.  Marina informs him that unfortunately he has no authority anymore. Why is that ask Damian. Are you the new captain? The crew laughs. No, Senior Fabre replies Marina. Damian reminds her to call him Captain. She tells him she has news. What news he asks. Hernan chooses to make a grand entrance. The news is that I am the new captain of “La Tempestad”. Marina needs my help and I am not going to leave her alone. Damian laughs at this. He tells Marina that Hernan has no experience in the fishing business. Hernan says he doesn’t think that “La Tempestad” is no different than any other boat and he has a lot of experience.  (What experience? You might go fishing for pleasure, but I’m pretty sure that’s about it) Anyway, Damian says this not something easy that anyone can do.  Hernan disagrees. Marina needs some modifications and increased production.  Damian tells him not to change a thing on the boat. If you do, I will kill you.  Marina tells him to stop and leave. They have a staring contest.

Corazon Indomable, Episode #70 - “One Step Closer to Discovering MariAle’s True Identity and to the End of our Protagonist’s Not-So Fairy Tale Marriage”

Corazon Indomable, Episode #70, Monday, August 19, 2013 –

“One Step Closer to Discovering MariAle’s True Identity and to the End of our Protagonist’s Not-So Fairy Tale Marriage”
Recap by LatinaInMD

Karim meets with the governor and repeats his claim that he lost his throne thanks to MariAle.  The guv tells him he doubts it was her fault, but Karim assures him he is already preparing his payback against her.

Doris and Mariana appear at the hospital to show Octavio they care about his nephew’s well-being, but as usual Doris ends up ordering Octavio to take her out to lunch later, once he’s had a chance to see his nephew.

Speaking of meals, Ed and flight attendant Sonia are having breakfast at a restaurant when Angel and Araceli walk in arm-in-arm.  Sonia notes that Araceli looks quite happy.  An annoyed Ed says he can’t believe Araceli could have replaced him in just two days.  He glares at them and notices as Angel cups Araceli’s hand in his hands.

As usual, Octavio tries to say no to Doris but quickly gives in to her wishes, noting how “generous” she is in allowing him a whole ten minutes to see his nephew before they leave.

Octavio goes in to see his nephew, and both Miguel and Lucia immediately beg him to go borrow money on their behalf, as Miguel is too embarrassed to do it himself.  Octavio agrees to do it, but says he will not sign the IOU himself.  He will only pick it up and bring it back for Miguel to sign it so he can get the money.

Angel now caresses Araceli’s face, and Sonia notes that it looks more serious than she imagined.  Ed figures that’s why Araceli didn’t want him at the store anymore and wasn’t willing to give him more time to get serious about their relationship.  Sonia points out he can’t have it both ways – love her or leave her.

Fernando and Susanito go upstairs. Giuliano gloats as his two accomplices ask for their pay. Rubén suggests that they all leave. The SWAT cops don't allow them to leave the area. Fernando yells through the door while trying to dislodge it with the fire extinguisher. The flames grow. Meanwhile Elvira has the gall to gloat at Amalia saying that there is always payback. Mirna is about to go after her but is prevented from doing so. Remedios tells Elvira off, however, saying that it is a pity that someone so pretty could have a soul so black. PEAM #115. 08/19/13 - How Low Can You Go? Misery Abounds and a Rash is Unleashed

This picture called Santa Fe Colibri has nothing to do with the story line which is a pack of miseries but I thought we could all think about something beautiful like this little creature while we hear this tale of woe.

Rogelio assures us he is the director and Alma counters with how is he going to explain his useless azz to Pancho Lopez, the big boss. She accuses him of being a jerk who is jealous of her love for Jesús.  As usual, having no way to refute these truths, he retreats in a huff.

Back at Orion we again see MalMelquiades come in with his silly Elvis steps trying to make fun of Jesús and then when Jesús and Julio simply leave the room preferring to ignore his silliness, he brushes her neck and tries make time with Aida on his way out. She is not having it either.

Ricardo complains to Xochi that Maricela is unhappy because she is a lousy fake and recounts how she isn't a princess or even rich and instead is the lowly daughter of the lowly janitor Panfilo.

Again we see Valentina pronounce the only accurate description of Rogelio - MALO. Yup, out of the mouth of babes. Rogelio simply cannot believe there is a female alive that isn't enthralled with him but she isn't his cup of scotch either.

Jesús is finally filling his Lic. in on Rogelio's activity against him, threatening Valentina using Yuri. and his brother has a bad conscience trying to hide Rogelio's illegal activities and money laundering scheme.

Valentina tries to play with Sanson who is good and watches wondering as we all do while Rogelio fears Valentina's touch on Sanson and Veronica is screeching that Val must not touch the dirty dog.  Later, Rogelio who has no idea what to do around a child, suggests she go out and play in traffic (not really but he fearfully lets her go play in the yard with Sanson. At least girl and dog are happy to be step children of the new family unit. Valentina is right to be looking askance, she is about to be swallowed up in a house where none of the adults give a fig about her.

Porque el Amor Manda #114: Are You Lonesome Tonight?

Veronica does not succeed in smothering Rogue, more's the pity. She promises to pick Vale up at school. (Will she be able to find it?) Rogue points out that she keeps talking about how much she loves her daughter, yet she still uses her as a tool. He may not have human children, but he has Sanson, and -- Vero interrupts that he's going to come home one day and find that dog in the oven. What a fun couple.

As if Rogue giving advice on family life isn't bizarre enough, Paty's back at Alma's, giving her a lecture on romance. Men! First they're all blue-princey, and then before you know it they're too busy to see you. And caray, the perils of the long-distance relationship! (All the way across Monterrey, she means.) Love is like a plant! It must be carefully tended! Alma tells her not to be such a Debbie Downer...but she does look worried.

Corazón Indomable Fri 8/16 Watch Out For That First Step!

¡Que casualidad! Today is Raiza's birthday and Lucía is in town...what could possibly go wrong?

We join Raiza and Miguel at the casino bar,

"I owe you a great deal, Raiza, and although you won't believe it, you have been helping me spiritually."
Let's Get Outta Here Before My Crazy Wife Shows Up
Hold it right there, buster, she has helped you on your way to financial ruin,  addiction to gambling and alcohol dependency, as well as abandonment of your family and farm... OK, we realize that there has been some fast and loose editing, but are you going to tell us that she's also been taking you to church, AA and Gamblers Anonymous meetings and that has all been left on the cutting room floor?

Before he can enlighten us about his spiritual development she proposes a toast and although he's been sipping brandy out of a snifter, he begs off. See, his wife has a keen sense of smell (actually, crazy people do, they can smell things that aren't even there). She becomes maudlin and confesses that even though it's her birthday, she's all alone. Much like us, he doesn't want to descend into her self pity, so he decides to complete that toast and gulps down some of that brandy.

What can I say? The crazy lady, Lucía, looks great in that scarlet gown. She's impressed with the casino... lots of elegant ladies. Octavio agrees and tells her that they love the gambling (even more than the men do), and as Maricruz spies around the corner, he nervously goes to seek out his brother.
When Octavio departs, Maricruz, wearing a well-fitted black and brown gown, slinks out of hiding and approaches her cuñada, much as a lioness stalks her prey.
Welcome To My Web You Pretty Little Fly

"Buenas noches, Señora Lucia."

Qué Bonito Amor #89 (Mex 127) Friday 8/16/13 A Blow Out Of A Birthday Party!

Capítulo 127

It’s the day of Maria’s (21st?) birthday party and the whole colonia is helping prepare something special, courtesy of JAntos who, despite his new found poverty, always manages to comp for a crap load o’ goodies.

Rodrigo is learning to cook alongside the love of his short life from the Blue-haired Bubbes—er…Babes while Giuliano’s thugs, pretending to be repairmen and plant a bomb which is hooked to the light switch in Maria’s dressing room.  Ana orders a birthday cake made like a mariachi’s sombrero from her padrino down the block.
Wendy whines to Michael that her life’s being threatened and so she’s gotta make tracks to parts unknown.  He’ll have to find another assistant.  It’s too dangerous to stick around.  (Like working inside the prison isn’t?)  He whines in return, begs her to stay, and promises to protect her somehow from inside Da Joint.  He’ll find out what the bad guys have planned through Darren.

The whole gang decorates the bar and then wait for the guest of honor to arrive.  The lights go out; she arrives in a (¿qué coinkidink?) beautiful lacy, flounced white partying frock and sees the flower and the sombrero cake.  Next comes the beautiful serenade from JAntos. Next comes sweet smooches and cheers.  Mil Amores has another onset of the sadsack for having lost out with Ana.

An Ill Omen Brings Nobody Good

LA TEMPESTAD # 14
16 August, 2013

The Town of Nuestra Señora del Mar, Veracruz, Mexico

“Nothing happened today. It was pretty uninteresting to me.”
                                                                                                Anonymous

An Ill Omen

Marina leaves the church after her conversation with Damian. The wind blows her hair onto her lipgloss and she looks very upset. Yep, she is in a storm of emotions when she looks over at Damian. Damian has a rare clumsy moment and the brand new engagement ring in the black velvet box falls out of his pocket onto the ground. The good Priest, Fulgencio, Delfina and Estercita are standing a little lower on the church steps and see the ring fall. Oh, my, dear friends, this is a most inauspicious omen for los novios, Damian and Estercita.

Now, just where is Madrina Eusebia when Damian needs her? If she were on the scene instead of just hanging out in her cosy beach palapa she could tell the whole lot of them that this omen—the fallen engagement ring ON THE CHURCH STEPS—betides such ill chance that it would be better if Damian and Estercita never met! Marina and Damian could run into one another’s arms, cut to their boda, and the whole romance part could be wrapped up right here. Alas, Eusebia is not there and the moment with the possibility for a quick resolution to our story passes.

Qué Bonito Amor #88 (Mex 126) Thursday 8/15/13 Que Bonito Aburrimiento

The Santos, OG death match goes nowhere.

Justo comes to visit Michael to talk about Wendy.

Wendy gets a nasty email saying "YOU'RE NEXT" and freaks out.

OG's such a big man, beating on Jantos while he's being held by two goons.  OG opens up champagne…um, no, if it's Italian, then it's not champagne, dumbass!...to toast to this big day.  Still haven't heard why this is such a big day.  Ha!  OG's trying to shake Jantos down for 10 million.  What an idiot!

Roddy and Paloma…all alone?  Why?...go to Jantos' family's vault to leave Gloria's ashes.  I'm going to be bitter about Gloria's death for a while.  Roddy is likewise bitter, but in a more weepy way.

Maria and Fernando start tracking down Jantos.  They strike out at the restaurant.  Fernando counsels patience, but Maria is convinced Jantos is in danger.

Mostly I think he's in danger of being bored to death by OG.  So, the plan is to get Jantos to get Justo to hand over the money.  Jantos is thrilled to hear that OG's life is in danger.  OG admits to killing Bruno and Arnold.  He blames Arnold for not taking the money out of the trunk in time.  "Blah, blah, blah, he died like the rat he was."

Corazon Indomable Cap. 68 8/15/13 “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”

There seem to be a few bumps in the road to romance for our secondary couples, while our heroine is poised on the edge of a cliff. Will she jump into Karim’s arms or be pushed into a prison cell?  My preview prep was limited, so if I missed something, please add a comment.  Many short scenes are combined and may not be in strict order.

Previously      Doris is in Daddy Gov’s office brushing off Octavio’s marriage as a mere inconvenience.  It took place in a small town, after all.  If the first wife shows up on the island, Daddy can make her go away.

The Gov is slightly puzzled—doesn’t Doris care about the scandal?  Nope, just about her hawt pilot/Lt./air force commander/whatever.  She loves, loves, loves him and wants to marry him.  We have a nice break from ShutUpDoris for most of this episode.  She and Mariana have a brief scene with the Gov later, as he explains they can’t do the big wedding announcement yet because  a) he’s busy and b)the mess of Oblivio’s marriage isn’t fixed yet.

Casino Executive Offices
The casino environment is beginning to feel claustrophobic, but it could be due to the emotional temperature of the sizzling scenes with MariAle and Tav.  The two are arguing if MariAle is MariCruz.  She gets her ID to show she is indeed Maria Alejandra Mendoza.  Our married man wonders how she knew he already had a wife and couldn’t marry Doris. She hints that his bro might have let the news slip while he was drunk. Oblivio, frustrated, claims he’ll marry Doris just to bother MariAle and asks her to leave him alone if she doesn’t love him.

PEAM #113- 8/15/13- A Break-up, An Engagement, An Annulment, An Ugly Divorce, An Almost Fight and An Arrest

It's out of order but easier to read. I grouped like happenings together.

The Old:
Ferny and Rogue are having a bro to bro talk about the only woman that he has loved- Amanda who he lost.  He only thinks about money and sex. Then Ferny breaks it down- you have your cake and was eating it too but you lost that as well.

Marisela tells Panfilo to stop being a player and be honest but he is going to the Carnival Club for people of a certain age. Panfilo is dressed to the nines, cane and all and Susana is licking her chops when she sees him.

Julio brings Jesus the judicial news about custody.
Moronica comes home in a mood and wants to speak to Elias about the photographer.  We get a glimpse of those horrible neon green, phone handle-matching shoes. Yuck!!!!!

Alma goes to Padre Domingo for the annulment papers.  Alma is happy.

Val is sneaking to speak to her Papa Jesus.  She is anxious to see him. Moronica is on her broom, yelling about Jesus and not letting him see his daughter and walks off. Beyotch!!!  Val has to hang up.  Moronica tries to act like a mother for once and kisses Val.  What a phony interaction.

Corazon Indomable #67 3 crazies and a crying toddler on one small island.

Married? ShutupDoris insists that’s a lie, and launches into another of her patented tirades.

Octavio and Ed are preparing for flight with Luciafer on board. Octavio wants Ed to keep quiet about Miguel and his little problems. Ed, the voice of reason, tells him he should stay out of their mess, but Octavio can’t help involving himself.

MA is at home congratulating herself over her anonymous call to the gov. ShutUpDoris must be having a hissy fit right about now. Check. Juanita comes in with the baby in a stroller to take her out for a walk and is bouncing around like she has to go to the bathroom and can barely hold on. Just go already, you’re making me have to go.  MA doesn’t notice and goes on to say how much she loves taking care of her baby’s needs. Finally MA looks at nanny and asks what’s wrong. Juanita tells her she’s worried because someone is watching their house. So it wasn’t because she was going to wet her pants. But why take the baby out on a walk if your worried about being watched?

Octavio is walking Lucia and the child through a plane hanger. She asks how Miguel is and he must be missing her, right? Lie, Octavio, Lie. Don’t involve yourself in their mess.

La Tempestad Cap #13, Wed Aug 14 - Tonight’s Patio Special: Whine and Cheese and lots of it

PEAM #112- 8/14/13: Some News Is Worse Than No News

Recap by Pablo

Lies can only be destroyed with bullets of truth

Elías is afraid. After Uri, Verónica is the most dangerous person in Monterrey. And she is on the loose!!

Raimunda's secret is public domain. Chatita convinced her to be truthful and now she is letting her hair down. As we all know, after seeing her mother get killed ''because she was a woman'' (by the hands of a very violent man), Raimunda denied her gender. Well, that was the past, because now Super Jesús is here to tell her to be herself, to prepare and study to be someone like Alma. See, Alma is a woman and nobody has killed her. Not all women get killed. Chatita is a woman and she has had a veeery looong life. Uri tried to kill Alma though, but she survived. You will too Raimunda, don't dress like a boy anymore, but better change that name. What about Ignacia? And your looks, we will help you. Ah! And don't worry about Valentina. She is just a girl and younger than you, but she has been exposed to so many adult situations that she knows more than me, Elías and Chatita together, she will understand your change... And soon you will be BFFs and could share make-up tips!

Segment sponsored by Lala milk.

While Elías and Jesús give Raimunda a makeover, Chatita takes the opportunity to tell Valentina about ''the secret'', and I am not talking about the book by Rhoda Byrne. After opening the door, Valentina's jaw drops to the floor when she sees the first transgender girl in her life. Raimunda is wearing a white dress and matching ribbon bows in her hair. They hug each other while the adults smile satisfied and proud of all the good they have done. From here, straight to heaven!!

PEAM, Tuesday 8/13/13 (#111): My Friends Call Me Chatita. You Can Call Me Luisa.

Rogue rants and raves in Alma's office. Alma closes the door in hopes of muffling their conversation, but this is hilariously ineffective. The employees and Elias hear every word as Alma lets Rogelio have it (verbally, that is) with every complaint she's kept bottled up for all this time: She's the one who keeps the office running. He does nothing around here except screw around with her friend or the occasional secretary. He traipses in around noon only to work on his personal projects of dubious legality, like the time he got those "Turkish cigars" from that "warehouse." She used to put up with it because he was her novio, but that was a mistake!

Rogelio says he wants Alma to tell him EVERYTHING that goes on around the office from now on, IS THAT CLEAR? (He stands on his tippy-toes, which doesn't really help.) Alma says yes, and Rogue leaves, gloating. Alma begins to work up a hearty rage.

At Orion, Augusto marvels at the simplicity of the agreement that Chucho (and supposedly Elvis) worked out with the union. He wants to know how they got Romero to listen to reason. Chucho volunteers Elvis, who is admiring his reflection in the lenses of his sunglasses, to explain it all to old Gussie while Chucho takes care of some other business.

Corazon Indomable, #66, Tuesday, 08/14/13 Lieutenant Octavio Narvaez of the Isla Dorada Navy, Army and Aviation Force is Oblivious no more. For now.

I always complain, so now I have to mention I quite enjoyed this episode, I feel like so much happened. Could this be because I had a shot of tequila before writing the recap?
Don’t judge me, it was very good tequila. ¡Salud!
 *
I'll be editing it some more in the morning, gotta go to sleep now.

At her house, Maria Alejandra is remembering Mohammed’s warning that Karim will accuse her of the assassination attempt if she doesn’t go to visit him. For once in her life, she seems scared – is she finally realizing that she’s been playing with very powerful men? No, not really, she is still reluctant to believe she could be accused.

Our two pilotontos read the letter that Octavio received at the end of last episode and it says – – – wait for it – – – the Governor gave Tav a new title, he named him lieutenant in the Isla Dorada Navy! Ed is sure later he’ll become a captain, a colonel, a commander. Tav is not that happy about it, he knows nothing about military life (or life in general, as far as I’m concerned); also, both guys agree that the isla is not that great when it comes to its Navy force – you know, like boats and stuff.
Regardless, Ed thinks Tav will look great in the white uniform (can’t argue here). Tav doesn’t feel like accepting the title, though, even if the pay would be much better, because that would mean him becoming a slave. So he decides to refuse the promotion (but can we call it that if he hasn’t even been in the field before?) and go talk to the Gov about it. And why not break up with Doris, too, finish the farce once and for all. Good luck with that, Lieutenant Narvaez!

Alone in his office, the Gov is thinking about the trouble he’ll have if the Police Chief discovers that he accepted the Emir’s bribe to allow the sale of the Casino.

Damian sees Lazaro and asks where’s he’s been.  Lazaro tells him that his mom went to see his uncle, the priest, and complained that he and his cronies are a bad influence.  But I don’t think so and my uncle agrees.  He promises to work extra hours to make up for the time lost.  Damian wants to know if what Bagre ways is true.  Did you find a woman?  Yes, replies Lazaro, but it’s not like that.  Jaz is my friend and we are in love.

Siete Mares talks about pride being a bad thing while Maria thinks she has lost Jorge Alfredo forever.  Later Ana comes in asking why Maria doesn't give Ruben a chance [She is truly blind]. PEAM #110 - 8/12/13 - A Funeral is the Least of Our Problems

Refrito, Elias kisses Valentina goodnight, she doesn't look too happy but the green stars make her close her eyes.  Jesús tries to take his leave of Aida since it is the evening when Agosto demands he attend him in his office for an emergency.  Oops, Alma has prepared a romantic heart laden table an donned her sexy red dress as she dreams of former kisses.

Rogelio tells Alejandra that he has an important client for her, Nick Donovan.  Even though he smells odd, she would rather cuddle with Rogelio but she is won over by the stack of cash he hands her from the conveniently located briefcase full of bills.  The photographer is burning up his memory card as Alejandra leaves and Virus-onica arrives.  Sanson does his usual disapproving growl.  She thinks Rogelio smells odd too.  Did I miss a product placement or what? Why does Rogelio smell funny?  In his hurry to pin Virus to the couch, she nearly crushes Sanson but he barks to shoo them off to the bedroom upstairs. Que asco.

Aida has to call Alma to tell her that Jesús is detained in a meeting with Agosto so she sits and daydreams of their romantic moments instead.

Corazon Indomable #65, 8/12/2013: Inconvenient Wives; Karim and the Chief Put the Squeeze on Mari

El Emir Karim’s wife, who also has lovely blue eyes, and her father, whose fake beard is worse than Teo’s fake hair, have been teleported to Isla Dorada to Karim’s hospital bedside. Mrs. Karim wonders if it would not have been better for them to put Karim in the teleporter machine to the Emerites, so that he can receive medical care there. The doctor interrupts to say he’s about to look over Karim’s wound, so the lady better leave the room. Her father insists that in her delicate condition (I guess Karim did fulfill his duty and plant his seed), it’s best she leave and protect the health of the heir. He thinks they should go speak to the police.

Ed bets Tav that he is such a weakling, that he’ll end up marrying Doris. Tav denies it, but like a coward, refuses to answer the phone, in case it IS La Hija del Gobernador. Ed takes the call and fields Doris’ one-hundred- and-one questions about Tav’s whereabouts, pretending he has no idea where his friend is. (And just why would he be hanging out in Tav’s room if Tav wasn’t there?) Miguel rushes in to gossip about the drama at the casino the night before.  Tav wants to know if Mari is ok. Miguel is more concerned about himself. The police intend to interview everyone who was present, and his fugitive status may get him into hot water. Ed doesn’t think the police will be so stupid as to not figure out Miguel’s a wanted man. Tav, caring brother that he is, is more concerned about Maria Alejandra’s chances of being detained. He wants to help her.

Corazon Indomable #64, 8/9/2013: Coup d’etats, New Business Partnerships, & Tav Grows a Conscious

Cece's recap is up!

Recap by Cece

The Old: Raiza is informing Maria Alejandra of the recent agreements between Emir and Carola. Raiza insists that she can be trusted and MA complies. Contrary to Raiza’s advice, MA will be heading to the celebration tonight.

The New
Miguel is reading Lucia’s letter of desperation. She can no longer take his absence, she wants to sell so she can be by his side and Miguel will also be able to see his son.  She’s spends the rest of the letter pouring out the little love (didn’t know she even had that in her) that’s in that hatred filled heart of hers.  Miguel looks not so pleased at this revelation. He does not want her to come and see how far he’s fallen. He blames his situation on her sins.  Because of her sins, he has murdered a man and that will forever be on his conscious. He also blames her for losing what he loves most…. his lands (too bad MA will get her hands on those soon!). So he doesn’t have to think about anything, he prefers to drown his sorrows with alcohol (yea, like that’s not going to get you into more problems. What’s wrong with you brothers? Please, just once act like you have a brain!).  Raiza stops for a visit and tells him to stop drinking (she almost seems sincere). Miguel acts surprised and tells her not her too (oh gee, sorry for caring). Raiza reminds him he has to work tonight, and to do so he needs to have a clear mindset. He tells her that Lucia wants to come to La Famosa Isla, but Raiza firmly tells him to say no way! Raiza comes up with a plan for Octavio to somehow convince Lucia to stay at the ranch.

Qué Bonito Amor #84 (Mex 122) Friday 8/9/13 The Thrill Is Gone--But The Slow Burn Ain't

Cap 122 or thereabouts.....

Lo Del Pasado:

Susanito is free at last, free at last!

Ruben continues to badmouth Jorge Alfredo and to offer his “solid citizen’s” shoulder to cry on for Maria.  Maria doesn’t want to hear it.   Now that Ruben realizes Maria and JAntos are on the outs he tries to widen the divide every chance he gets. He and Maria have walked in on Elvira forcibly locking lips uhhhh-gain with JA who gets an accusatory earful from his angry ex.  It’s more of the hey, I just work here and I am heading back to L.A. now that I’ve done what I said I would for you and since there’s nothing keeping me here any longer.  Trampira and Rubber exchange shit-eating grins of approval with each other.

Isa and Jalisquito continue their battle of the sexes.

Lo Del Nuevo:

Rodrigo finds a way to earn a bit of extra cash and spends it on poster board “I Love You” signs to wave up at Paloma through the balcony window. (Yawn.) FF>>

Once the others are gone, Rub tells JAntos that for as much as he’s tried to force JA out of Maria’s life and away from his comfy barrio buds, he becomes more and more established [afianzarse] within the community.  He accuses JA of playing games with Maria’s feelings and hurting her.  JA tells Rub he’s a poor loser who has no dignity and begs for the love of a woman who’ll never respond to him.

Trampira tries pestering Maria while she’s counting bottles at the bar.  Maria tells Vi to can it and tells Vi how sad it is to see a woman humiliate herself by subjecting herself to continual refusals from a man who wants nothing to do with her.  “—You’d have to kill me to destroy the love tie between Jorge Alfredo and me!”  Vi tells herself that just might be worth the effort.  “—Have it your way!”  (Hey, she already killed once; what’s another life more or less?)

JA says he didn’t break it off with Maria; he simply let her go. Anyway, he’s not like de Olmo who gets a sick kick out of playing with people’s feelings, always enjoying seeing them squirm.  Rub claims he’s making Maria suffer—something he’d never do because he lurrrrves Maria so. “—No you desire her and that’s quite different!!  You simply cannot stand the fact that a humble woman would reject the opulent life you offer her!”  “—What’s wrong with offering her a world she’s never known?”  “--Nobody asked you to!  And, anyway, I can offer her that and much more.”  Rub reminds JA that he’s got to deal with American justice first.  JA is all back atcha!  “--Yeah, I will eventually get it all worked out.  And what about you when the law finally catches up with you?”  No matter, he continues.  “--Oh, and don’t get too chummy with Maria while I’m gone, because before I leave I’m making sure she’ll never look twice at a guy like you!” JA exits stage left.  Ruben snarls to himself afterwards that Santos is going to fall fast and hard and will soon be keeping company with Giuliano…..

Mil Amores, still off his game, admits to himself that he loves Ana with all his might and decides to write her a love letter expressing his feelings.  Unfortunately for Mil, he’s only thinking with half his brain.  Mil keeps it anonymous so that when he slips the envelope under Ana’s apartment door, Seven Seas finds it and hands it to her during lunch.  She naturally thinks it came from Seven Seas, and he isn’t exactly in any hurry to correct the notion either.

Jalisquito gets honked off that Isa has won their little sidewalk soccer game.  Mil gives the kid lessons on keeping his “disappointment” from a female.  They share more “Big Brother” moments and practice a few new songs together.

Concho surprises Lourdes with flowers and her favorite perfume.  (A woman is always a sucker for a beautiful bouquet—and damn if this one isn’t one of the most intriguing ones I’ve ever seen!)  She seems to be fighting the urge and Viewerville hopes she sticks to her guns.  He offers to make her dinner.  She doesn’t know if she’ll let him.

At the same time, pobre de Murna’s slumming and still in her nightie and slippers.  She swears she’s going to get even with the Hernandez family and make them pay for humiliating her.

Back at the bar, JAntos is heading out for home.  Maria chases after him and begs for forgiveness again.  He refuses again and says something inside of him has broken.  He’s been betrayed by friends and lovers.  She swears she never betrayed him.  He says it was enough that she took de Olmo’s side over his and then admits he simply no longer has it in him to forgive.  She swears that no matter where he goes and how far he goes, he will never get rid of her or forget her because his heart belongs to her; when he eventually is able to forgive her and return, she’ll be there waiting for him.

Rub tells Maria later on that the cold and heartless way JA is treating her is proof that he’s really not the great guy she thought he was.  “--Nobody should ignore the sacrifices others have made for them!  He’s showing his true colors.”  Maria takes this with a wary grain of salt cuz she knows she stuck her foot in it, big time with de Olmo.

Fernando advises JA to forgive and forget, but JAntos says this time he can’t.  He is just hurting too bad.  He only ever felt this bad when his mother died, he says, and perhaps that means that his love for Maria is dying also.  No way, says Fer.  It will never die, but you have to learn that love means forgiveness.  “—if we can’t forgive then we cannot love. (Sounds a bit convoluted to me, but I guess that’s another cute way of saying love means never having to say you’re sorry, right?)

And the show must go on!  That night JA, with a sad glance at Maria, chooses to open the set with “Te Solte La Rienda”.  Maria is heartbroken.  He finishes the song and she sings “Si Nos Dejan” to him and holds out her hand once she’s finished.  He thinks it over for a few loooooong seconds and decides to ignore her and walk off the stage.  (Ouch!)  Well, we can't exactly say she didn’t have it coming……

La Tempestad, Cap. 10, Friday, August 9: No offense, dude, but my hands smell like fish.

Demetrius:
Do I entice you? do I speak you fair?
Or, rather, do I not in plainest truth
Tell you, I do not, nor I cannot love you?

Helena:
And even for that do I love you the more.
I am your spaniel; and, Demetrius,
The more you beat me, I will fawn on you*

*A Midsummer Night's Dream, Act II, scene 1.

The old:
Hernán has a post-dinner tantrum.  Marina snaps at DamFab for walking into her office without knocking -- "Didn't anyone teach you better?" When DamFab attributes her petty tyranny to jealousy, Marina is all "Me, jealous?"  ¡Está usted loco!

The new:
Hernán Haskell, a vision in tight orange pants, breezes into Marina's office with a chirpy "Buenos días" and then, noticing the glaring contest between the two pretty protagonistas, asks if he is interrupting anything.  DamFab sighs and mockingly repeats Marina's reproach: "Didn't they teach you to knock?"  Marina puts on a show for DamFab's benefit, greeting HH warmly, thanking him for the wonderful evening, kissing his cheek.

That Esthercita is being fitted for her wedding gown doesn't keep her from needling her with-friends-like-this-who-needs-enemies best friend, Mayuya.   Behind her, the seamstress warns Esthercita to stop fidgeting or she's going to stick her with a pin.
[Do it! someone calls from the Patio.]
Mayuya stares up at the preening little E.  If looks could kill...

Hernán extends his hand: "Hernán Saldaña, capitán."  DamFab keeps his own arms crossed on his chest: "No offense, but my hands smell like fish."  But H is offended and Marina rushes to his defense.  When H leans over to kiss Marina's hand, DamFab snickers.  But when Hernán pulls out his wallet to pay the captain for risking his life and saving Marina, DamFab stops smiling.  He reminds H that not everything is for sale.

As DamFab exits, we catch a glimpse of the Sabritas machine in the hallway.  And we are reassured that, whatever her problems, Marina will always have something to nosh on.

PEAM #109- 8/9/13: What Time Is It? Time for Barbara to Exit Stage Left, Mari to Tell The Truth, Vero and Roger to Pull Plan B, That's What Time It Is!

Hola PEAM Peeps! I am going to try and make this a down and dirty recap, in other words, I tend to be wordy and let's see how brief I can be. This recap, of course, will not be in order.

The Refried:
We had the refried again, as in Mari must tell the truth, Alma calls Chucho for a date later, Xochi talks to Chatita, who informs her there is no answer at her apartment, cause she was going to visit Barbara. Oh, and Vero meets Roger (her name for Rogue) at a restaurant where they will hatch new mis planes!

The New:
Chucho is at Orion at work and thinks about what Aida said about Auggie (Augusto) not liking anyone's personal life, it's work, work and more work. In comes Vicky, Auggie's secretary and she is sliming herself all over Chucho. He is trying very hard to ignore her. She is getting into his personal space like white on rice, jus' sayin'. She has come in to tell him he must go to the conference room for a meeting.

Vero and Roger are going to ally themselves against Chucho since they hate his guts! Vero gets all over Roger's case about putting Val in danger with that stupid plan he had, well Roger is all pithed cause Alma almost lost her life too! Roger tells her that of course Chucho saved the day once again, Alma and Chucho are better than eva, and well Vero has a plan to maybe do something about that! Using Val of course, what else is new? Here is plan B: Leave it to Vero, and Roger will get what he wants. She'll use Valentina to get what she wants out of Chucho. They both lustily growl at each other. A Pox on the two of them!

Romegio is enthusiastically greeting people at Avon and tipping his hat. Gasper has to tell him to cool it!
