Sueño de amor #65 Wed. 6/8/16

If this has 130 capítulos, we are at the half way point, if not, we must be approaching it. Tonight the scenes could not have been any shorter or choppier but in any case story continues on . . .

At the Nueva Luz shelter, Ricardo is still at it with Cristina and they continue bickering but finally stop to collaborate on trying to find Sandra the lost girl (with revenge on her mind). Cristina is concerned about her because she has suffered so much. Sandra is not from Mexico City and is not at her home in Puebla either. Does Cristina know of some place that Cristina likes in the city where she might have gone? She does not remember so Ricardo asks her her name as a kind of distraction that might help her remember. After fighting this technique at first, Cristina introduces herself. Ricardo looks surprised as he recognizes her as the super duper expert in pedagogy that Bárbara Santillana has been trying to track down for a while now which he tells her all about. Rodrigo explains his surprise by identifying himself as a teacher at the Instituto Palacios. He also tells Cristina, not wanting to offend her, that at the Instituto Palacios she already has a reputation as a witch. Well, she is offended but Ricardo's distraction technique worked because in th she does remember Sandra's favorite place. She looks happy about that but not so happy that his technique worked.

Tres Veces Ana - Episodes 17 - Jails, card readings and still no memory

Before you had time to recover from yesterday's episode that featured 44 minutes of Santi and Evaristo deeply staring in each other's eyes in the dark forest, Televisa brings you one where Santiago spends 44 minutes in jail waiting to be interrogated.

Let's start with important plot points we learned today to help us in deciphering what everyone's end game is.

In crazy oboe musician's memory, he is crying over Gina's coffin. Suddenly Marcelo and Mariano walk in. Cue angry stares, no doubt signaling we are about to witness Mexican standoff. Before we can though, memory cuts off.

Ramiro is remembering getting to the hospital after Gina's death. He sees Marcelo, asks him if he could see Gina. Ana Le helpfully volunteers that she saw Gina with a bottle of pills the other night. Isn't it how she died, darling? No, says Marcelo - Gina dies in her apartment from asphyxiation. She left a note. Side-comment: interesting suicide tactic. Judging from the rest of the episode, which you'll read about below, perhaps, indeed, Ana Le's plan of handing Gina pills did backfire, and in reality...could it be that Gina was killed by her own grandfather?? If so, why?

In any case, this was the exciting part, onward to the other 43 minutes then...

Tres Veces Ana - Episode 16 - Where it's all about Santi's memories and sad Ana Leticia

Hi everyone,

Sneaky is unable to watch/recap for us today, so I am putting up this short summary and we'll discuss away in the comments.

Since it worked so well last time, I will use the Game of Thrones character format (for those who read books), since that worked well last time. And - if anybody is watching current GOT season - it is moving just as slowly...

Sueño de Amor (SdA) #64. Monday June 6, 2016. Sometimes A Show Gets So Off-The Charts Stoopid That You Long For Its Early Days Of Milder Stoopid

What do you call that level of hunger when even a carcinogenic Crayola icecream called “Sueño de Horror” starts to look appetizing?

At a glance

-- The good news is we’re roughly halfway through this. The bad news is we’re roughly halfway through this.

A closer look

Dr. Cutie Pie assures Esperanza that he’ll do his best to help her. He’s doing this because it’s his vocation. The Guerreros thank him and Esperanza gives him a hug.

Yago #18, 6/6/16: Children Taken, Children Lost

Fidel lines up the kill shot to Julia Michel’s heart. She has no idea her young life is about to end, as she enjoys street-side tacos with her old friend Ambar and Ambar’s handsome new beau Yago. Fidel, fortified by his memories of how Camilo Michel killed his three children in cold blood, prepares to take the life of Camilo’s lone child without remorse. Suddenly, another redhead appears in his sightline. Selma, his love, his mujer, stands defiantly in front of clueless Julia, blocking Fidel’s shot. He calls Selma’s cell phone and demands that she get out of the way. Selma tells him he’ll have to shoot her too, if he wants to shoot Julia! Yago notices Selma’s presence, and possibly notices the sniper on the roof across the street. He’s clearly relieved when Julia’s bodyguards arrive and escort her safely away. Fidel curses in frustration.

Tres Veces Ana - Episode 15 Where many characters take many long trips

Rehash of Thursday:

Santi is discussing with Remedios why he remembers Ev (just saw him, not actually recovering memory, Rem is disappointed). Santi needs to talk to Ev, as he holds the only key to finding out who Santi was and why he was with Rem’s husband in one car on the day of the accident.

Ev is huddling with the grandsons, tells them to follow Sole and Ana Lu and watch out for Santi/Marcelo. Gives them Marcelo’s picture. What should we do with him granddad? Why – kill, of course.

We're on our way, deep into the weeds this week. Join us on our Camino. It's not an easy one, by any means, but stick with us and we will get to our happy fin.

Sueno de amor, #63 Friday Espe is dying, Salma has a dying wish and Estrella is in mortal danger. The guys are mostly alright, though

Sorry for the delay, but here is Friday's recap.

For those who missed it the first time, we get another dose of kids violence, when Tracy screams at Selena and almost slaps her. Fortunately Anastasia is not a soulless bitch, too, because she defends the girl and after, she even reproaches Tracy her treatment. Mom of the year has no problem saying that she is bored and she despises her children, especially her daughter.
Selena runs to her room, crying with Rod and the maid, saying how much she misses her dad.

Estrella is with Sanson. She doesn't have the guts to hit him on the head with a pan, because she's terrified, but she becomes even more so when Sanson takes her picture and tells her what he plans to do with her: sell her to the highest bidder, because she's a hot commodity, being a virgin and so pretty (Damn you, Erasmo!).
Sanson adds that Estrella is five times more expensive than Erasmo's debt and if she says no, Kiko will suffer the consequences.

Yago Capitulo 17 2/6/2016 "Stink, Stank, Stunk"

  • A lot of scenes from previous episode were repeated

  • This episode focuses on Fidel. We learn that he had a large family of four children(I got confused on the exact number)  and a ex  wife named Raquel. On the daughters BD Camilo's men disrupt the party forcing a very young Fidel to grab a gun. He opens fire in the sky damning Camilo with his strength. Selma reads a threatening letter that was written by someone called Fabiana . Fidel is leaving with his lover Selma disregarding the safety of his own family. Selma tried to warn him but Fidel did not listen. Raquel took care of the children  while they were running away but on the way there Fidel calls Raquel to check on his kids only to learn that they were attacked.  Camilo's men catch up to them dragging Selma's daughter . We don't learn of her fate ( I'm speculating that the missing daughter was Julia.) . Later there was a funeral done by Jewish traditions. All of his male children got knocked off

  • Teo informs Yago about Lorenzo. He tells him that Abel chased Teo away all while taking his phone.  Yago  mourns that Abel changed so much clearly shocked that Abel can sleep at nights. Teo mopes that they lost their only witness of the crime but atleast Melina will not be in danger anymore.  Teo also warns Yago that their revenge will be a much more bloody journey.

Sueño de amor, Ep. 62 (6.2.16) Tired of love triangles? Try love squares! They have more corners!

Happy teacher's day! Next holiday is father's day!
(this episode aired two days after teacher's day in México)

''Death is not true when you have accomplished well your life's work. We are what we remember of ourselves and we will be what others remember we were''. José Martí

Hola, crapola
Whoever is editing this version is not doing a good job. Today, they started showing a couple seconds of Dr Mireya telling Adrián something about some son. Now I will never know and that was crucial for the story to move forward, who am I kidding? This thing is going nowhere! jajaja!

My secret video
We all know by now that the ''secret video'' Patanasia so much talked about for the last week, turned out to be a non explicit sex tape she recorded without Luca's consent in one of the many nights they had sex around the world, Paris, Egypt, Nicaragua, you know...

In a moment of anger, she sent it to Pato and now even Aranza is checking it out. The title: ''I know who you did last night''. Ternurita, poor Patanasia hopes this sex tape will land her a deal with a TV show like ''Al tanto con las Garnachas'', but I think is not worth even Cinemax time.
Like Pamela Anderson's, the video looks too well lit, edited and shot from different angles to be from a hidden camera. Anastasia sure knows how to show her best assets.
Here there's hidden cat, thinks Pato, Luca would never cheat on me with Adefesia, she is doing this just to annoy me, and ITS WORKING!!
Watching Anastasia dominating a submissive Luca didn't upset recently raped Aranza. I wonder what kind of therapy she's having or what's going on in that little mind of her...

Sueño de amor # 61 Wed. 6/1/16

We pick up the story at Viviana and Luca's place with Viviana hearing from Luca that Anastasia has a video of him and Anastasia in bed together. Anastasia has not sent Pato the video yet. Luca is afraid that he is going to lose Pato the love of his life in the whole mess with Anastasia.

At Ernesto's, Anastasia is having a riot telling Tracy about the whole Luca situation over a glass of wine. She is not sending the video yet to Pato. She will get Luca back. She has just thing to snag him with. Ernesto enters and interrupts their "bitchfest". He asks Anastasia to avoid coming over. She was just leaving and is gone. Ernesto starts to remind Tracy why she and her children are living with him. Tracy tries to get smart with her zoological background and tells him they are in a symbiotic relationship. Not so from his point of view. Tracy gets a warning: Ernesto tells Tracy she is like one of those little fish (rémora) that travels on and survives on what he the shark leaves behind. She is dependent on him. He is indifferent to her. She threatens to tell about the "La Sombra stunt" they pulled. He grabs her lips, squeezes them shut and tells her she better be loyal to him and not tell if she does not want to end up in the street. He leaves. She wipes her mouth off with the back of her hand.

We start with the depressing scene from yesterday's episode, where Llora agrees to decline trip to Costa Paraiso in exchange for a hug. She doesn't even get that. Instead she goes back to her room to cry some more, where she is later joined by Abuela. Abuela is outraged Ramiro turned out to be such a shady despicable character.

Yago #15 Some Bullets for ya

So the Uni App sucks, I was about half way into the episode when it closed down and it wanted me to start the show over again and I can't because I'm at work. So here's what I did catch:

  • Fidel's love is back, where has she been?
  • Lorenzo made a run for it and now Lucio is on the hunt, he offers 500,000 pesos to the person that finds him.
  • Bruno and Alejandra think there's something fishy with the nun that got transferred, they want to know where she went but they get no info from the head nun.
  • We finally get some background on Katia! It seems that our dear Katia was once a hooker (high end), she met Yago at a casino when she tried to drug him, he gets her into rehab and later offers her a job and she becomes not just an employee but also a trusted friend, she views Yago as her brother.
Now the thing that got on my last nerve:

Yago is bonding with Sara, he confesses that he has feelings for her and that that is what's keeping him away from Ambar. Sara takes Yago to Omar's grave and tells him that Omar was the love of her life and that Lucio knows this and has always been jealous of dead Omar. She takes the blame for what happened to Omar and says he was too good to die such a horrible death in prison. She tells Yago that she killed Omar, whose only real mistake was falling in love with her- the day he met her was the day he started to die.

And then the Uni App crapped out on me! I'm going to try and watch the last 24 minutes of this, but for now feel free to discuss the episode!

Sueño de Amor 60: Ain't Nobody Got Time for That! Well, some do, some don't.

Esperanza doesn’t have time for Ricardo. She's not giving in and telling him the truth.

Ernesto has time for Esperanza. He sat with her for quite a while listening to her and trying to win her over.

Mario has time for Viviana and their blossoming relationship.

Jerónimo has time for the Gallo family as he visits with them as they discuss their problems.

Salma is a fourteen-year-old itching to get her fiesta on, but she doesn’t have time for Kiko.

Ricardo at first doesn’t have time to help at the women’s shelter but then has a change of heart.

Luca doesn’t have time for Pato because a message from la Nacha is freaking him out.

Tracy has time for wine, schemes, and intrigue with Nacha, but no time to be a mom.

La Nacha tells Luca he better make time for her or else!

Amor de Barrio Discussion Page: The Past Clashes With the Present

Amor de Barrio keeps chugging along at at nice pace. Some plots could do with a little more speed but others show no signs of slowing down. Let's get into it:

Laura is saved from confessing what she tol Ariel by Rosa who got drunk off the flask Monalisa left at the house. (She already has liver problems so I wonder if a transplant is in the near future). Raul offers to put her in a rehab center.

Blanca Estela is having trouble adjusting to life on the outside. A lot of people scare but she's trying to make the best of it.

Delfina confirms with Ariel that Laura caused the stroke and tells Tamara (I don't mind this plan of attack so much because it is actually 100% true).

Laura tells Paloma that Raul is seeing the social differences between them and they might not work out regardless of the sibling thing. (I don't know where Laura gets this from since that has never mattered to Raul. He only didn't want Laura close to Edmundo because has a history of violence). Paloma suggests a blood test which Laura will do once her mom tells her the truth.

Yago, #14, Monday 5/30/16: The Return of Yago

Woohoo! Yago is back. This was a simple episode. Here are the highlights:

- Yago has his mom give Sara the keys to the house that Omar bought and refurbished for when they got married.

- Ambar makes her move on Yago, but Yago gets Katia to interrupt before things go too far.

- Abel bonds with the witness he's supposed to intimidate, and the kid takes off. (With a gun?)

Un Camino Hacia el Destino-Week 15 (May 30, 2016)

EPISODE #68 (Mon May 30)
Blanca asks Fer if she’s ever been curious of who her real father might be? Fer answers no, never. Pedro is her only father. She doesn’t know what happened in the past. The important thing in her life is the present. That’s enough for her. They talk about Don Fer and how he was then and now. Fer thinks it’s funny he thinks he can convince Pedro to forgive Carlos, when he can’t forgive Pedro for what he supposedly did to her mother. Blanca says Pedro is a saint, everyone knows it, including Amelia. Fer says if only Amelia had told her father how things really happened back then, their lives would be very different. Don Fer would have Pedro on a pedestal.

Carlos arrives and greets the two of them. Blanca leaves them. Carlos said he talked to Jay and he told him about Pedro getting upset because he and Fer had reconciled. Fer doesn’t know what to do. Pedro just doesn’t want them to be together. He hugs her and kisses her.  He can see it’s causing her some distress and he’s sure that if he could talk to Pedro, they could clear it all up. Fer doesn’t think it’s a good idea. He was just released that morning.

Three Faces of Ana # 9&10- 5/27/16 From Frying Pan To Fire: Soledad’s Small World Just Got Smaller

As Santiago and Ana Lucia, aka Ana Lucky, express their shared relief in finding each other again, Soledad enters the hallway. She is stir-fried-fit-to-be-tied impactada, seeing THE MAN hugging and kissing on HER DAUGHTER.  (What a waste of a good high-tail it outta town plan, eh, Sole?) She growls at Santi to back off Ana Lucky.  Ana Lucky heads back to the room with her towels.  Remedio’s watches a bit at the nasty interplay between Sole and San, then heads off to chat up Ana Lucky.

While Soledad and Santiago butt heads over him keeping his distance from Ana Lucia, Remedios and Ana Lucia carry on like it’s old home week in San Nicolas.  They put names to faces and talk about the feelings San and Lucky share for each other and how he’s like the son she never had.  She’ll put in a good word to Mama about him for her.

Amor De Barrio Discussion Page: Paloma & Daniel Get Together As Laura & Raul Drift Further Apart

Hello Everyone!

Here are the barrio happenings and goings of the last two days:

Monalisa brings a flask of alcohol to Rosa's house but she doesn't drink it. (It seems that losing her memory has been the best thing to ever happen to Rosa since she now sees people for what they truly are). She hides the flask in her trinket box though so she's not out of the woods yet.

The cop in charge of Rosa's case goes to the La Luciernaga in order to tell Edmundo that, while Dr. Serapio is dead, he was a patron at the club and maintained an affair with one of his workers and he intends to find out who it was. Edmundo tells the cop he doesn't know anything. When the cop leaves though, Edmundo tells Monalisa that he knows she was his lover and to be careful with what she does.

Rodrigo tries another strategy with Paloma: friendship and she agrees. He then tells Tico that he'd rather be in the friend zone for now than be out of her life completely if he pushes too hard romantically.

Sueño de amor, Ep. 57 (5.26.16) There are lies in your lips, in your hips, in your eyes, in your thighs, so much pain, you're so vain...

My big fat greek cancelled wedding tragedy
Pato ''se anduvo haciendo pato'' (was fooling around) so she could hear the conversation between Mapa and Ernesto. Esperanza said that in her house nobody lies, but is not true, because she is hurting Ricardo more hiding the truth from him than if she told him she has cancer. One day she was ready to be with him on sickness and health and suddenly she is stealing that from him
Ernesto's idea of rekindling their dream of love (only for show) so Ricardo can convince himself he is no longer wanted in her life (or what's left of it), doesn't fit Esperanza's plans. One moment looks like she takes a side with Ernesto to make Ricardo go away but then she changes back. Pato supports that idea because she thinks her father is a hero.
Choose wisely: Ernesto means more days in your life but Ricardo means more life in your days. What will it be? Die happy or die sad?

Un Camino Hacia el Destino-Week 14 (May 23, 2016) Second Half

EPISODE #66 (Thu May 26)
A representative of Child Welfare Services, a uniformed officer and a notebook lady have shown up in the middle of Clarita and Cesar’s reception. The rep addresses Marissa and wants to speak to Carlos. She says he’s not at home, but she can speak for him. She leads them in the house. The rep states Carlos has been keeping an unaccompanied minor in the home. Marissa is cooperative. Yes, Carlos brought home a homeless youngster, but is planning to adopt him.

The rep says that is the problem. There are no papers on file so they have to take the boy to a childrens shelter. Marissa doesn’t think that should be necessary. He’s well taken care of in their home, but they will have the family lawyer file the right papers in the morning. Rep lady says that doesn’t conform to the law. They have to take him now.

Carlos and Fer are still standing together away from the crowd at the reception. He tells her she hasn’t said whether they are novios again or not. She laughs and tells him for good or bad, yes. Carlos questions the “bad” part. Fer says it’s just a saying, like for good or bad, she loves him, for good or bad she can’t be without him, for good or bad she accepts being his novia again. They are both glowing, radiant in the heat of love. Carlos leans over for a kiss. [Ahem—I thought I saw a little tongue action there!] He’s the happiest man in the world.

Amor De Barrio Discussion: "Golpes Que Da La Vida"

Hello Everyone!

I recently started watching Amor de Barrio and spent all this past week catching up on past episodes to be able to watch it live, hopefully with all of you.

I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw because, while this is a "traditional" novela rosa (with plenty of cliches) they are either handled in a fresh way or are revealed so quickly it never weighs down the story. I also love that both female protagonists, Paloma and Laura, are career women who go out into the world and the galanes are to brain dead insecure men who believe hearsay.

It is also the first novela in 9 years for Roberto Hernandez Vazquez, who last produced Heridas de Amor.

This is my first summary/blog so bear with me, please. This is a summary of the first 35 episodes so here goes nothing!
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Paloma Madrigal is a muchacha de barrio that recently finished her specialty in criminal law and needs to win her first case in order to get a job at a respectable law office. The case she chooses is that of Blanca Estela Bernal whom was unjustly imprisoned by Catalina Lopezreina for killing Catalina’s husband, Saul.

Catalina blamed Blanca Estela for Saul’s murder because Blanca Estela refused to tell Catalina where Saul’s lover, Dalia and her son, Rodrigo, were hiding. Blanca Estela, pregnant with Paloma, told her husband, Gustavo, everything was true when she was condemned to life in prison. She gave Paloma to Gustavo as soon as she was born WITHOUT knowing her if she gave birth to a boy or girl. Gustavo then told their children that their mom died during Paloma’s birth.

Sueño de Amor (SdA) #55. Tuesday May 24, 2016. Esperanza Makes Lying a Family Affair, Erasmo Tells the Truth

This recap was brought to you by our recapper and Patio regular, Kinomathematika! Enjoy!

Ricardo is still trying to reach Esperanza. Pedro doesn’t answer him, either. He doesn’t know what to tell the priest. Margarita goes to him asking if the bride had second thoughts.

Esperanza is at home and says that she loves Ricardo too much to obligate him to marry someone who will die in months. She’s going to wither and wear away. I don’t want the love of my life to be witness to my deterioration. She asked Pato and Pedro forgiveness. They told her she had nothing to ask forgiveness for. She thinks she has to sacrifice herself for Ricardo. Pato tells her that Ricardo needs her, but Esperanza says that Ricardo doesn’t need someone who’s dying (moribunda). She says she’s doing it for him to be with his children and for him to be happy. Destiny wants them to be apart. She asks them to help her hide the truth.

Pedro tells her that even though they aren’t in agreement with her plan, they will help if it calms her. She tells him to call Ricardo to tell him to come over, that she needs to talk to him alone.

Tres Veces Ana - Episodes 3 & 4

Hello everyone! While Sneaky two shoes gets a recap ready for us, here is a discussion page on episodes 3 and 4, in which we get a first kiss (!!) and find out that Soledad is darker than we thought and is somehow involved with the whole Santiago/Marcelo story line.

We also find out that Ana Lucia is not your typical TN protagonist and will not be confused by random blabbering. When Soledad spins a made up sad story of a neighbor named Sofia, after calling Ana Lucia the name of her dead daughter, Ana Lucia says it's sad, but she doesn't know how this is related to anything!

Tres Veces Ana, 5/23/16: Premier, Episodes 1&2

Hello Patio Peeps! While the recapping team for Tres Veces Ana (Sneaky2Shoes, Ria, and Jardinera) gets themselves together and figure out their recapping schedule (team members are still needed), I'm posting this discussion page for the first episodes. These two episodes, we pretty much got everything that was in this synopsis

The Short Version:
In addition to what's already in the synopsis, we learned that: Uncle Mariano is a womanizer; Ana Lucia is in a love triangle with her two besties and doesn't know it; Ana Lucia was taught to read palms by the local nice bruja (Chana), and she's REALLY good at it; Ana Leticia was the one who caused the accident with her parents and sisters; all three sisters suffer from nightmares; it's been three years since Marcelo "died" and was reborn Santiago; Remedios' husband was with Santiago when he had his accident and he died, but not before warning Remedios that Marcelo/Santiago is in great danger and she needed to care for him; and Ramiro almost married a con woman a few years ago, found out the truth, realized his love for Ana Laura, dumped his lying fiance at the altar, and she then committed suicide (bummer).

The Long Version (debut recap by Ria):

Un Camino Hacia el Destino-Week 14 (May 23, 2016) First Half

Episode #63 – Monday May 23
Carlos awaits his fate, greeting “former” patients at the hospital. Marcos sees him and reminds him he shouldn’t be there. Carlos tells Marcos maybe the doctors and staff don’t need him, but the patients do. Marcos is sure everything will work out. Carlos doesn’t see how that is possible when they put the decision on his future in the hands of his rival. Marcos believes Javier will not let their personal rivalry affect his professional opinion.

Mariana and Fernanda continue their conversation. Fer is there to work, work she needs to help get her father well. It’s their fault he’s there. Mariana corrects her—it’s her mother’s fault. Fer revises, yes, her mother preferred her old family name and position to the love of her father and herself. Fer leaves to give Don Fer his pills. Blanca reappears. She points out to Mariana that she can relax, Fer is not after the inheritance, even though it’s also hers.

New Telenovela: Tres Veces Ana, Starts Monday, May 23rd

Recappers are needed for this telenovela which starts Monday, May 23rd in the 9 pm time slot. A few of you have now expressed interest in recapping-- let Blog Mom Jane/Melinama know and email her ASAP: caray@mappamundi.com

**News flash: as of 5/21, Uni has once again changed its mind about the fate of Yago, and it is supposedly no longer moving to the graveyard shift on UniMas. I have no idea what will happen to A Que No Me Dejas. During its first week, Tres Veces Ana will be shown in 2 hour blocks, 9pm-11pm. After that, it will be on at 9pm and Yago on at 10pm. This schedule is changing almost daily, so stay alert.

The story of "Tres Veces Ana" starts with a family road trip—the Álvarez del Castillo Rivadeneira family. Triplets Ana Laura, Ana Leticia and Ana Lucía, along with their parents, suffer a dramatic car accident, crashing by the side of a river. The event leaves both parents dead, Ana Laura losing one leg, and Ana Lucía dragged by the river’s current. Only Ana Leticia emerges unscathed. Soledad, a woman who is mourning her own daughter’s death, finds and helps Ana Lucía. Although Soledad discovers who the girl is, she takes advantage of Ana Lucía’s memory loss about the accident and her family and decides to keep her, making her believe she is her mother.

Sueno de Amor #53 Friday Sometimes it takes a village...

.... or a great team of commenters to write a recap.

After having tried yesterday afternoon and almost all day today (it's 6 pm my time), I finally give up. I cannot find a usable link to watch the episode, so I have no clue what happened. Therefor I'm not capable of writing a worthy recap, or any recap for that matter.
I'm annoyed and very sorry to let you all down, but the one link that I could open starts buffering after 17 seconds, so...
The Univision site says that Esperanza is afraid that the cancer is going to kill her... This is all I've got!

Later edit
A big thank you to Diana, Pablo and Jarifa for stepping in and writing down what you remember from watching. I'm adding your comments to the main post, this way whoever checks this down the line will have a recap (I tried to do a little bit of editing, for continuity).

El Hotel de los Secretos #80, 5/20/16: GRAN FINAL - The Gran Manicomio Closes Its Doors!

Goodbye nuthouse! We shall miss you!
At a glance

-- It's the big finale! Don't just glance! Take one last full plunge into the exciting world of El Hotel De Los Secretos!

A closer look

The previous episode ended with all of us screaming: What the hap is f*ckening here? Who in poo-perfect hell is this Dr. Vicario and Mr. Hyde character? Well, those of you who guessed he is Clara’s father are right! Go ahead and give yourself a pat on the back! The guy is in fact Simón Canabal, Diego/Juan Camilo’s father-in-law. He had been pursuing the mustached vulture for 6 years to make him pay for the murder of his daughter. Clara was the most sacred and cherished thing in her father’s life and, after her brutal slaughter, nothing mattered to him anymore, nothing had value, not even Isabel’s life.

El Hotel de los Secretos #79, 5/19/16: WTF Did We All Just Watch?

Part One

Oh my god. Guys, you guys, what did we just watch? What's going on? Someone tell meeeeeeeeeeee,

Okay, so I just finished the episode, the Univision App is crap, it lags, it shuts down on you as you're watching- and then you have to start watching from the start and hope the freaking thing will work, anyhoo, after two hours I finally made it through.

The episode was super slow until the last seven minutes, so let's recap the slow bits and then move on to the action, okay? So we start off with Belen going *splat*, once she realized that Andres knew about her involvement in the plan to get him killed, and finding herself surrounded she jumped to her death rather than face jail time, I think knowing that Olegario would place all the blame on her was the final push she needed to jump. Poor Andres, he is devastated, don't ask me why, but he is. Dummy. Andres blames Ayala and Co for Belen's death and I'm over here thinking "hu"?

Back at the Hotel, Alfredo is having some quality time with the little Al, he tells the baby that they need each other and I just want this dude to get up, run from the hotel and take the super adorable baby away. Alfredo is a good guy, proof of this is that when he learned about Belen's death he took the baby to Andres and told him he needed the baby more, oooh look, a therapy baby!

Meanwhile Teresa gets a summons from her friend, the judge, she is being accused of murdering her husband! Teresa wrongly assumes that Isabel was the one who ratted her but it was in fact Julio who did the deed in order to spare Isabel. This causes a major rift between the two. The lesson learned here is: Don't accuse your future mother in law of murder. It won't go over well. In this case it ended up making Teresa curse the day Isabel was born. Totally harsh.

Ayala confronts Olegario and tells him he's on to him and later Olegario makes the mistake of talking smack about Belen and gets a well deserved punch in the face.

Elsewhere in town, Juana and Diego are getting ready to leave Mexico, at least Juana thinks they are, Diego has other plans.

Teresa ran to Doctor V. for comfort after being served with the summons and he comforts her and later agrees to be her date to the party the hotel is throwing, and then he stands her up. More on that later.

Part two:

The party from hell

Ok so here's where the fun starts. Teresa gets ready for the party and finds that Doctor V. has stood her up, but she's a strong independent lady and goes to the party on her own. She gives a speech to her guests thanking them for their friendship and loyalty. While she does this other things are taking place in the hotel.

First we have Julio saying his goodbyes to Cecilia. He gives her a hug goodbye and Isabel walks in on them, misunderstands what's going on and stalks off. Julio leaves to go after her and Diego follows after them. Ooooh the drama!

While Julio and Isabel argue, Doctor V. leads Diego to them up in the secret room. Diego finds Julio and demands to know where Isabel is. Isabel hides. They start to fight and the fists fly and I LOVE IT. Yes, I'm blood thirsty and what? Diego deserved the beat down. Isabel comes from her hiding place and smashes a vase over  his head but fails to knock him out. Diego gets the gun and points it at Julio. Doctor V. appears and shoots Julio in the shoulder and tells Diego to take Isabel away! Ahhhhhhh, my brain!

The gunshot interrupts Ayala who was declaring his love to Matilde. Everyone rushes to see what is going on and they find Diego holding a gun to Isabel's head. Doctor V. pulls his gun on the group and prevents them from helping Isabel. Again, he tells Diego to take Isabel away, and Diego does. Diego drags Isabel out of the hotel by the hair while she begs him to let her go. He refuses to. Then she asks him to shoot her because she'd rather die than have him touch her again, then a shot rings out. Doctor V seems to believe this means Diego has killed Isabel and he put his gun down, again, WTF.

Back to the stairs at the entrance of the hotel. Diego continues to abuse Isabel, when we see Julio. He calls out to Diego "Montejo, die!" and shoots Diego!

OMG.

He was also encountered by the child’s mother which finally recognized Abel as the killer. She cursed Abel’s whole existence, saying that he will end up worse as her fallen child. In the present Abel was at the point of killing himself but Teo stopped it. Abel is curious on who put the video on. Abel also pointed out that Bruno is slowly becoming the bane of his existence. Sueño de amor, Ep #52 (5.19.2016) Keeping up with the dreams that love for Lala products command!

I have a dream!

Viviana's dream

At the cereal clinic, mother and son promise each other they will fight this together. Her dream of love is that the three of them (I am guessing they're including Luca) will never get apart.
Looks like Adrián borrowed Salma's t-shirt, maybe because she doesn't need it anymore.

Salma's dream
Speaking of the devil, Salma shares with Kristel her dream of love and that doesn't include the shrimp-like fetus on the screen of her tablet (Look! it has eyes!). They watch a sonogram and the younger sister complaints about the situation she created herself. On the dark side, she is one of half a million teenagers that are pregnant in México right now, but if you look it at the bright side, she can take her kid to her quinceañera as one of the chambelanes!

Mario's dream
His dream is that his unrequited love for Viviana blossom in a full gilf relationship.
He is so confundido and more when he tries to tell his daughters and Salma's hormones make her feel unwanted. He assures her that he loves both equally and then she is happy to be included and now the club has four and a quarter members. Granny, pops, the girls and the fetus. Imagine if Viviana ties the gordian knot with Mario and becomes both Salma's stepmother and mother in law! Wow, and including PatoLuca in this mix this will make a very twisted family tree!!

Un Camino Hacia el Destino-Week 13 (May 16, 2016) Second Half

Fernanda Meets the Family from Hell, and it’s Hers

(This lengthy scene is from Episode #60 from Wed, May 18)

Fer has arrived at the hacienda to take care of Don Fernando. She steps into the living room to find Carlos waiting for her, wanting to know how Pedro is. They exchange a few words and it seems as though a reconciliation is near. There are sweet kisses, a “te amo” from Carlos and another kiss.

Into this tranquil domestic scene, roars Hernán hell bent for leather without a horse, on a mission to fire Fer for his self-humiliated daughter’s sake. He yells and bullies Fer and makes a grab for her. Carlos comes to her defense. The two men tussle and Hermy ends up pushing Carlos backwards onto the couch.

At this moment Amelia rolls herself in to witness this dispute. Fer sees her mother and her mother sees Fer. Amelia speaks first, calling her Luisa Fernanda, hija. Blanca hears her and heads for the living room. Mariana arrives and stands in the background. Shock, anguish and incomprehension are all etched on Fer’s face. Amelia approaches her, tears starting to fall. Her daughter is alive. She reaches out her hand to Fer, assuming Fer will reciprocate. Fer backs away from her.

Sueño de amor #51 Wed. 5/18/16

A little fragmented a lot like the commercial ridden episode of tonight . . .

Ricardo goes to open the door of his home and he gets yet another phone call from Esperanza telling him how much she misses him one more time and that Pato has news about his kids. The call turns out to be a good thing because while talking to her, Ricardo notices some marks on his door as if somebody was trying to get in. He remembers La Sombra's threat. He does not try to open the door. He does not get blown up. He calls the super duper spy office of which he is no longer an employee. Esperanza insists she is coming over even though he tells her not to.

At Ernesto's house, Ernesto and Tracy get into a discussion. Ernesto is all worried that La Sombra is going to tell Ricardo he was not the one that caused the attack at the restaurant. Tracy wants to know what could happen anyway if La Sombra said it wasn't him at the restaurant. Ricardo would never think it was them. Ernesto is worried there could be an investigation which wouldn't be good for them. Tracy reminds him it had nothing to do with the two of them; it was all his idea that ended up being his deal  to get his daughter Pato to love him and for Pato and Luca to forgive him. Ernesto is just not sure. He would be capable of doing anything so that Pato and Luca would not find out the truth. Tracy jumps on the "anything". What might that be? Ernesto says that would be eliminating La Sombra all together.

El Hotel de los Secretos #78, 5/17/16: The Truth is Finally Told!

This recap is by commenter Cynthia. Her first recap on the blog!  Thanks so much, Cynthia!
We open with Ayala on the phone confirming the real identity of Diego. He is a Colombian who has been a fugitive from the law for 6 years named Juan Camilo Angarita. Ayala explains that Diego is a very dangerous murderous man, who was running from the police. Romulo saved him because he was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was trying to help out of good faith. The problem is that Ayala doesn’t know if Romulo actually knew that Diego/Juan Camilo Angarita was a murderer. The part he can’t figure out is if Diego/Juan murdered Romulo himself or if it was truly Teresa who murdered Romulo.

Yago, #11, Monday 5/16/16: We're all pawns, my dear

Ambar calls Yago just as he's getting in his car. He gets bonked on the head and has a flashback:

Melina is visiting him in prison. She's brought him lunch and is telling him about Dad's new job. Then Omar is attacked and beaten badly. Omar is dragged into a small cell and locked up alone. Later, Fidel joins him in the small cell. Omar says he doesn't have the strength to eat. Fidel encourages him to bounce back.

Ambar leaves a message. She's sure she heard a struggle. She doesn't look well. Sara offers to try to track Yago down. She looks again at the threatening text from her father and puts 2+2 together the wrong way: Damian must have taken Yago!

Yago comes around and sees a silhouette. It's Fidel. They hug. Fidel plays the tape of Yomar revealing himself to Melina in the hospital. Yago feels that Teo has betrayed him. Fidel says Teo is just doing his job. "Melina is Omar's mother, not yours. And Omar is dead. You are Yago." Fidel knows about the video of Abel shooting the guard, too.

El Hotel de los Secretos #77, 5/16/16: A Hot Mess of Crazy

This is my last recap for this outstanding telenovela. I want to say up front just how great a pleasure it's been to watch and read along with the rest of you. The quality of the writing, the acting, the production, and the participation of the Caray community has been a profound delight at a particular moment when I really needed to find something delightful. Thanks to everyone who has come along on this spectacular ride. The TN has been great, but the experience has been awesome.

Ahem. Enough mush. Back to our story.

At the gravesite, Belen's teeny acorn of a heart breaks in two at the sight of her deceased, freshly dug-up child. Dagoberto, Cipriano, and Ayala are all distraught at the scene. Even I have to stifle a sniffle. Ayala et al storm the hotel with guns as Andres consoles Belen. Ayala asks for Diego and is told that he left earlier.

Ayala sifts through volumes of records in Diego's office. Teresa tells Mateo to make sure Ayala doesn't open up the safe without her permission. Teresa goes to her own office and calls the insurance company.

Meanwhile, Isabel shows Julio the life insurance policy that was written with Teresa as beneficiary. Funny thing, the date on it is after Romulo's accident.

Ayala is already trying to open the safe when Teresa returns. She tells him it's Diego's personal safe and no one else knows the combination. Ayala says he'll blast it open.

Baby #1 gets a proper burial. Belen panics as the men begin to shovel dirt onto the tiny coffin. They back off to give her some space. She asks Andres to get her other child for her. She won't forgive him if he doesn't.

Judge Barreda is telling someone on the phone that everything is under control and business is business, when Ignacio, Matilde and a squad of reporters and photographers burst in to give him the good news of Belen's reappearance. The judge has no choice but to tell the reporters that the charges against Andres are being dropped. Ignacio and Matilde exchange smug looks.

Sueño de Amor (SdA) #49. Monday May 16, 2016. This Novela Was Smushed With "Porque El Amor Manda" To Give You "Sueño Del Amor Manda"... Because You're Worth It!

At a glance

-- Osorio has decided to recycle Porque El Amor Manda, because he can and because he gets his paycheck no matter what.

A closer look

Ricardo shows Esperanza the apartment he one-sidedly decided that she and her grown children should move into. He does, however, grant the little lady the privilege of choosing the furniture and the knickknacks that will fit out their new home.

Accompanied by her adoring lapdog, Pedro, Princess Confundida goes to visit her saintly mother in jail. Despite her histrionic whining, prison life isn’t treating Silvana that bad. She is impeccably coiffed and she sports her favorite fluttering falsies. All that’s missing is her signature red lippy, designer glasses and military-style black garb and she's Principal Crazy-Eyes again!

At the constructora, Viviana complains to Luca about Ernesto’s objection to her “friendship” with Mario. Luca informs her that Ernesto pulled a heroic stunt during Pato’s birthday. Viviana’s eyes bug out in disbelief.

In the reception area, Nacho informs Begoña that he decided to pull a Ricardo and cross the border illegally into the United States (irse de mojado). See you in 20 years, toots!

El Hotel de los Secretos #76, 5/13/16: The Black Widow

Hi everyone. I want to tell you all what a pleasure it's been recapping this fantastic telenovela and I'm sad to see it end. There are so few really good ones that when one finishes, it leave an empty hole that is hard to fill. We were lucky after Yo No Creo en los Hombres, we had another fantastic TN that followed it and that hole never formed.

This is very long, there was no way I could shorten in without leaving out vital information.

We start where we left off, Manuela and Felipe having a conjugal visit, and Julio and Isabel being told the story of how they faked Andres’ death. Julio wants to know why Ayala was willing to break the law to do this? Ayala is not disposed to let innocent people die for the benefit of rich people.

Belen has arrived at the hotel, wearing mourning black and a veil over her face, crying her eyes out at the injustice of Andres’ fate, through every fault of her own. She’s a first class drama queen, she’s utterly torn up, and runs to hug a startled Angela. Oleg pulls her off of Angela, but everyone wants an explanation of how this could have happened.
Viewerville is on the edge of our seats, waiting to hear her explanation.
