La Candidata 6/9/17 Chapter 7: Regina Apologizes to Cecilia

OR: How Regina Gets Thrown Under the Bus and Played 2X All in the Same Day

NB: the gov=Alonso=the gov

We start with a "mother and child" reunion between Ximena and her mother Teresa at the rehab center. Ximena has gone to visit her mother. They are both happy to see each other. Ximena needs her mother. Teresa will always be there for her. Ximena has a more pressing issue to address: she now knows that her mother was not merely fantasizing about her father being in love with another woman. Ximena tells her mother that her dad Gerardo abandoned her for the wife of the governor.

We are transported back to the vacant office/apartment Omar uses for his personal interrogation/detention center to witness Mario's triumphant return with his own band of thugs. When confronted by Mario, Omar accuses him of having committed two mistakes: meddling in the gov's business and in his grandson's business. While the two old codger mafiosi are hashing the matter out of who started it, Javier is taking advantage of being free of supervision and starts to try to loosen the ties that bind him. He frees himself and starts looking for a way out but the best he can do is to stash himself in one of many closets. Back to the main event! Mario accuses Omar of having it all wrong. Mario did what he did to just help out so his daughter and the whole country did not find out that Omar's son the gov had a lover. As for their grandson Emiliano, Mario just took an opportunity to get rid of a problem for him. Omar is not impressed and makes it clear that ALL business needs to be done through him and not through the governor. Mario justifies his acts again because they all could have been destroyed. Omar is not accepting Mario as their "savior'. Mario knows that but wants to take advantage of the opportunity to establish a truce. Hey, he won't even retaliate for what Omar did to him. They are all in the same boat; all pulling for the same side. Omar does not see that as a reality because Mario is pulling for Regina and he is pulling for Alonso. No problem! It turns out that there is really no conflict between them because Mario thinks Regina is brilliant but since she is an idealist and not a deal maker, she is useless to them in politics. It would be better for her to stay in the senate and for Alonso to get the real power in his hands. For Omar the conversation is over but Mario still wants a non-aggression pact/truce. They are family. They are business partners. He puts his hand out to shake. Omar finally shakes on it but still does not look convinced. In the meantime Javier manages to escape. Omar is angry and sends his goons in hot pursuit.

Calao demands she shut up and pushes her on the chaise as Danilo grabs a gun from one of the security guards and points it at Talisman. Talisman takes out his gun too, points it at Danilo and tells him that he was just giving Laustela fashion tips. Laustela comes and dares Talisman to touch her again because then she’ll take care of him personally. He and Danilo laugh before putting their guns away as Laustela chides them for their pissing contest. Asdrubal notices the fight and goes over to them as Laustela tells the men to leave her be so she can sing. Talisman tries to start another fight but Asdrubal puts everyone in their corners and the party continues as Laustela sings.

La Doble Vida de Estela Carilo, #20 Friday, It takes a village to write a recap

Hello, everybody!

I have to break my promise about having a recap ready because I simply couldn't bring myself to watch a silly telenovela after spending more than an hour on the news channels, trying to find what what on Earth is going on in London.

But you guys are amazing; barely need any recap at all to get the ball rolling, and for almost 100 comments no less.

I did steal some of your input about the show and added it here, for those who come back to visit the page later on. Thank you, Julie, I actually stole all your mini-recap (I would never get upset over that). Also, thank you to everyone who contributed (Alfredo, Diana, RGV, Kirby, Steve, Anita, Susanlynn, Nina)I stole little bits and pieces from all of your comments.

I hope this makes a little bit of sense to you.

Danilo and Nasty Co are going to pay Fausto, using Furia money under the guise that Laustela will do a solo album.
Laustela is supposed to become the only singer in Danilo's band, allegedly per El Dorado's orders (according to BunMan). She doesn't want to, but Morgana doesn't believe her.

Thanks to Chavalin's help (who's more useful from jail than any of the other characters), Laustela is now suspicious that Furia is laundering money, but does she suspects Ryan is the culprit?  And because she fibbed to Genesis about her reason for wanting to know the name and address of the disc alleged presser, Genesis innocently blabbed Laustela's mission to Danilo, so Danilo knows that she's on the trail.
Laustela decides to tell Ryan about the blackmail and asks him for help (right turn); but then she goes and tells Danilow about her suspicions regarding the laundering of money (left turn). She pushes away Danilow for now, but she needs to be more cautious than that. In this particular situation Moronga (LOOOL) is right to be upset because she's being thrown to the curb, but why is it Laustela's fault? Initiating a fight with every man's darling (Laustela) was definitely not the right move for her, especially since she ended up losing. I have a feeling she will want a rematch soon. That is, if she has the time. It looks like she's about to be kicked to the curb, and Danilo isn't exactly thinking clean, no hard feelings break-up.

Danilo forces himself on Morgana. She eventually stops fighting, she even appears to enjoy it, but is she really? Also, Danilower then low seems to like it rough. I hope Laustela opens her eyes to this buffon FAST.

Osiel, La Tona's hubby, is dead.

Paloma is starting to soften's Mercy's cold heart. Is Rosario annoyed because faux grandma is buying too many presents, therefor spoiling the child, or is she jealous?

LetmeLearn, desperate to learn English, calls Tomas - the scruffy, thin man from the park. Because a guy met in the park for a few seconds is the best person to go to if you want to ask for a favor.
May I suggest she get her own show and leave ours in peace?

That's about it!
Once again, sorry for today, but I really didn't have the heart to do more this morning and now I have to run to work.

LaPiloto #64 6-2-17: Hot On The Trail, Picking Up The Pieces and Tying Up Loose Ends

I have a video without CC so far and have about 50% of what's been said and 25% sort of what's been said and 25% of nada about what was said.  I prefer to wait for the CC'd version on this capítulo which won't arrive till late tonight if Loony Uni follows the pattern.  Oh well.....

The major points are these:

  • John meets up with Col. Santa(he-ain't)Maria.

La Doble Vida de Estela Carrillo (LDVDEC) #19 6.1.17: If He Drugs You...He Doesn't Love You

Memories are in italics.

• Laustela doesn’t care about Ryan and Morgana’s kiss. In fact, she came to ask him for help regarding Chavalin’s situation.
• Ryan asks Joe to help Chavalin out. Joe will do what he can but he notes that falsifying IDs is a serious offense. Ryan then asks about Liz and Joe notes that they are thinking about splitting up.
• Laustela asks Genesis if she can give Leticia asylum at her apartment for a few days and Genesis accepts.
• Danilo tries to get Laustela to celebrate with him that the album is complete as does Morgana, who is still pissed at all the attention she is Danilo gives Laustela.
• Laustela and Rosario discuss the Ryan and Danilo situation to death. Laustela notes it’s temporary and she was clear with Danilo about her feelings. Danilo doesn’t seem to care and skips the celebration to eat lunch with them and Paloma at the house.
• The next day, Danilo discusses the money laundering scheme with “El Dorado.” ED notes that he will soon replace him as it usually the rule of life. Danilo smiles at the thought.
• Several days later, the showcase is about to commence and Danilo gets handsy with Laustela backstage, though she chides him immediately. Danilo then goes to Morgana’s dressing room, offers her a drink, and suggests she use her other ASSets since she has less than ideal singing skills. She tries to throw him out but her vision gets blurry and she faints on the couch.

John only smiles as they are loaded up into the cars, which drive away as a man observes from an adjacent roof. The man calls Oscar and tells him that the car carrying John just left.
• Later, Oscar then calls his men by the airstrip and orders them to stay put until Santamaria gives the order to move in. Oscar reminds his men to stay sharp as it’s going to get good.

La Candidata Miercoles, 5/31/17 Chapter 3 Regina Suspects Her Father Has a Lover

Chapter 3 – Regina suspects her father has a lover
The press surrounds Regina’s car, they are like lions surrounding their prey ready for the kill. Daniela gets into the car and apologizes to Regina she had been trying to call her to let her know to go in thru the back door to avoid the vultures.
Regina asks about Almiro and Daniela confirms he is inside waiting for her. Daniela tells her to “breathe” as she prepares to emerge from the car. As she gets out of her car, the reporters go in for the kill and begin to bombard her with questions about Florencia Oscura.

“What relationship is there between the death of Florencia and the video that has gone viral on the internet?”
“My son is another victim of this unfortunate event, and it worries me like all of these unguarded young women. I will continue to work so this doesn’t happen again”

The mob continues to hound her, not allowing her to get thru when out of nowhere Gerardo appears and comes to the rescue. He takes over answering questions defending Regina. He continues and ends the barrage by stating that the reporters should allow the authorities to continue with the investigation.
Alonso is in another part of town having just completed a press conference and asks his assistant Magda and Pacheco “how did I do?”

Pacheco not holding back says “in my opinion, you should have answered more questions”
“What? So that they could crucify me?”
Magda chimes in and says “next time look directly at the camera, it makes you appear more truthful”
“See that’s a good critique”
As Alonso tries to retreat, a group of reporters catches up to him and complains about not being allowed to ask questions.
“What happened to being transparent?”
“Investigate all you want and you will see that my government is more transparent than water, as far as Florencia Oscura I have nothing else to say”
Pacheco jumps in and says “press conference is over”

La Doble Vida de Estela Carrillo (LDVDEC) #18 5.31.17: A Confession of Love from a Coward with Bad Fashion Sense

• Having seen the gun, Ryan understands why Estela always said that her life depended on what was in the blue suitcase; he assumes she always her knew father’s lifestyle would catch up to her. Laustela notes the gun is new, and barely touch, before Ryan suggests she keep it, for protection. Laustela hesitates and Ryan reminds her that he already saw her handle a gun and knows she can use it. Laustela hopes she never has to use it.
• That night, Laustela and Ryan arrive home for a change of clothes. Ryan gives her the suitcase and asks her to hide the gun. Laustela nods, goes to Ryan’s room and looks for a place to hid it.
• Morgana finally finds Chavalin at the bakery, explains that she’s Laustela’s friend, and tells him that Paloma, Laustela’s daughter, had to go to the hospital. He asks if she’s okay and Morgana nods as Chavalin takes out his cell to call Laustela. Morgana stops him, reminds him she’s at the hospital, and asks how he is related to Laustela. Chavalin thinks it’s strange she doesn’t know, since Laustela sent her, but she looks untrustworthy either way so it could be that she’s not as friendly with Laustela as she originally told him. Morgana tells him to calm down, she just thought Laustela had no family, but he explains that he’s an uncle on Laustela’s mother side. He then asks Morgana to leave as he’s very busy and has to call his niece. Morgana nods, huffs and puffs, and hurries out.

La Piloto #61 5.30.17: In Which Yolanda is Back Where She Started...

• Monica walks to the shower and remembers when Joanna and her cohorts threatened her in the recreation yard. She then remembers when they beat her up in her cell and warned her not to fight back. She gets to the showers but finds no peace; Joanna and her cohorts are waiting to tease and berate her. Monica warns them to leave her alone but Joanna warns her to be careful and listen to all her instructions unless she wants her to cut off her tongue for insubordination. They leave her be while she showers.
• Vergara sends Yolanda, Lizbeth, Olivia, Wilmer and Estela to where Zulima is waiting for them. They are all happy to see her, and introduce Wilmer, before Vergara announces that Yolanda has decided to work for their organization and distribute drugs along the same routes as the Lucios. Estela is happy to hear it, as narcos make great money, and then asks about Rosalba and the baby. Vergara explains that they are safe in an undisclosed location, incubator and all. He then tells Yolanda that they need her to start ASAP and asks her what she needs. Yolanda tells him they need helicopters, a plane and an airstrip where they can land and take off. Vergara nods.
• Some time later, Vergara brings Yolanda a suitcase full of cash and tells her it’s her it’s her pocket cash. He then reminds her that nothing is free and this cash is more of a loan than a gift as they will deduct every red cent from her first paycheck. Yolanda nods and Vergara gives her the cell phones she asked for before reminding her that they are not to make personal calls and she should always remember that any stupidity on her part would only hurt her aunt and the baby, in that order. He then leaves them to work and Estela jumps at the money. She closes the suitcase and tells them that they must take care of it.

Memories are in italics.

• At Furia. Danilo warns Calao to be careful as his extracurricular activities almost got them in trouble with Ryan. Calao reiterates that it’s not his fault they sent him for Laustela but Danilo is happy after all because he now knows the real reason Laustela went back with Ryan: Calao’s threats. Calao smiles but shakes his head and denies having threatened Laustela. Danilo does remind him that he is his boss so if he falls, so does Calao.
• Ryan wants to know who hacked his medical file but Steve shakes his head. Ryan has no idea who would be interested, as only Mercy knew, and his lawyers went through great lengths to make sure his stint in the rehabilitation center wasn’t brought up in the trial. Ryan assumes it could be Pedro’s people, investigating his past to see how they can blackmail him, or it could have to do with Laustela’s threats. Steve is confused and frustrated as Ryan just told him he thought the threats were a lie.

La Candidata Lunes, 5/29/17 Chapter 1: Looking for Guilt

Foreword

After years of chronicling the lives of the rich and shameless I am still astonished at how similar they are no matter the country or culture. The newly rich like Eladio Gomez-Luna will buy their respectability through the silence and compliance of others. In the end he fell short of becoming another Gerald Bradley because the latter never fooled the set who regarded him as an interloper. In the end – if what I heard about his death was true – he was ultimately unable to fool himself. Since I no longer practice the faith of my upbringing I am done speculating on whether he is in Purgatory or elsewhere.

I have found new examples of the ultimate indulgences of such people. While there is no Coliseum or Circus Maximus in Mexico City the San Románs share some of the vices of certain historical personages echoed by their name. Only modern civil law and my profession have – thus far – held the line against the rise of a new Caligula or Nero. I am a latter-day Suetonius, telling tales of hypocrisy, corruption, and crimes that attempt to defy discovery and go without punishment. I present my tales to you, my elite readers, that you may judge these people for who they are.

Sit back and read at your leisure. At least our wine is better than that which was consumed by the Caesars.

La Piloto #59, 5-26-17: Bad Boys Brawl But Bad Broads Rule

Monica sits in her jail cell thinking back to how the state prosecutor doesn’t understand her, I.e., how she could have let herself bow to the demands of a couple of (insidious and predatory) redneck narcos anymore than she could ever understand DEADave’s’s rejecting her sexual advances.  (You mean besides Yolanda’s being a beautiful, brave and alluring bad girl?)

La doble vida de Estela Carrillo, # 15, Friday 05/26/15 Dumb and dumber make a fine couple, indeed

This is from memory (watched while cooking dinner), so sorry for any mistakes; I did a lot of editing, I combined scenes for better flow, stupid dialogues were ignored (almost everything having to do with the Threesome that nobody asked for, formed by LetMe, Eraser and Brujita).

Estela is waiting for Ryan at the restaurant, but he's a no show. She calls Furia and Genesis tells her that Ry forgot his phone at work because he left in a hurry - he needed to "save" someone. This worries Estela, she asks Genesis to search for the last call on Ryan's phone and give her the number. (Note to Ryan: password protect your phone, you silly idiot.)
She then calls said number and ends up at a rehabilitation clinic where a receptionist tells her that Mr. Cabrera has been checking in, without giving any further information.
Estela is impactada that Ryan would hide something this important from her and tells Chayo that she needs to further investigate. There is no way that she can tell him her own deep dark secrets as long as HE has deep dark secrets of his own.

So these two lovable fools already have a rocky relationship three days into their dating/ engagement (who would have guessed, with all the lying by omission, by mistake, on purpose, for the grater good etc etc..). When they meet back at the house, Ryan apologizes for standing her up at the restaurant, in the process making up a story about some business deal that he had to solve asap. Estela pretends to believe him, but decides to do some investigating into  Ryan Cabrera, Man of Many Secrets and ardent lover.

La Doble Vida de Estela Carrillo (LDVDEC) #13 5.24.17: Let Your Body Do the Talking...

• In Asdrubal's office, Danilo isn’t sure if Laustela is gone for forever, because she left and came back three years ago, but if she does, he and Morgana would have had their own child by then and claimed the 20%. He does lament that Laustela left without sleeping with him but Asdrubal reminds him that Laustela needs to come back ASAP lest Ryan open up an investigation into her whereabouts. If he does, the police may investigate Furia and that would make El Dorado very unhappy. He instructs Danilo to think and make sure Laustela comes back so everything is calm.
• Laustela explains that everything is over between because she can’t continue to be Estela Carrillo, not with all the problems it has caused. Ryan proposes they find a solution but Laustela thinks the only solution is to be far away from him and start a new life. She asks Ryan to let her go, if he loves her, because she can’t be Estela but she can’t go back to Laura Oviedo, either. Ryan asks her to please tell him why not but Laustela shakes her head and asks that he not make things harder. Ryan can’t let her go, not knowing that she and her daughter are in danger, but Laustela asks him to leave her be. Ryan nods and hopes she realizes the mistake she’s making. Guerra de Ídolos has been relegated to Saturday nights, 9-11PM; Commenting has been understandably light since Telemundo, in their infinite wisdom, has decided to play fast & loose with the schedule. Your moderators, Juanita & LXV are as dismayed as anybody about the bad programming choices made recently by Telemundo. We want to encourage anybody watching any of the shows to post their thoughts about it--random comments, what they like, what they don't, whatever. It doesn't have to be a recap; it doesn't have to be long: your thoughts in a few sentences, just to keep the page alive during this drought. We'll even open the page up to La Fan watchers, who have indicated that part 2 is better tha part 1.

La Piloto #54, 5-19-17: Catch But No Release

Part 1~~
Zuli eavesdrops as Lisbet and Raul get whatever information they can on Amanda’s condition by Raul pulling rank with his badge.   They learn that she was hit by a car and is now being prepped for the baby’s delivery, 2 months prematurely.  Zuli decides to disguise herself as a janitor (we assume to finish the job on Mandy).  Olivia calls Bette just then and gets the word. She and Wilmer drive up to the hospital.

DEADave and Yolanda drop Moni off at the police station—where both of them are now personas non gratas—for the latest.  Dave gives Yoli more bullets and tells her naively that everything will be just fine now that John’s behind bars.  Yoli, wise to that says nope, not till he’s behind bars in the States will it be over.

La doble vida de Estela Carrillo #10 Friday, 05/19/2017 First kiss, first fight

Sorry this is late, but whenever I got into writing, my daughter needed something: to dance, to play, a snack...
Here goes, I hope I didn't forget anything.

There is a party at Furia. They are celebrating Estela's arrival , Don Chayo signing a new contract and Danilo becoming part owner of the company. Morgana wants Dani to introduce her as the girlfriend, but he barely acknowledges her presence. He is busy talking to Don Chayo's lawyer, trying to convince him to go into the money laundering business. The lawyer is appalled at first, but Dani seems to be getting to him.
Mercy and Joe leave the party early; she's had enough of her step-son for now. There is some news in the papers: the prosecutor who worked on Ryan's case and his assistant died in an "accident".

Estela asks Ryan to leave the party room, too, because she needs to make out talk things out with him. Why is he still on her case, he does know that she's leaving as soon as the Jaripeo is over, right? He takes her to somewhere more private, the stage of the big auditorium where the festival will take place. They get into a fight about his reasons for inquiring into her future. Why does he care, why can't a promise for help be just that, with no strings attached?
Ryan can't help it, he needs to discover the mystery that is Estela and all her mysterious life and mysterious past and ... he gets the  crazy eyes, if she weren't into him so much, it would look borderline obsessive. Estela says that she needs her space, but what Estela actually wants is to kiss him. And that she does, with no resistance coming from him. Bright screen behind them, it looks like the perfect first kiss...that is, until Ryan says that he never thought anyone would make him feel the same as Realstela did. Dude! Way to ruin a good thing. Good luck getting back into Fauxstela's graces now.

  • Ryan comes and reveals that he went to Michoacan to find out more information about her past and everyone told him that her and Fausto took Herminia's and left her in the lurch. Laustela explains that Fausto lied and didn't tell her the money was stolen from her aunt; she found out later that it was Herminia's. She laments the fact that her aunt died thinking she was a thief but tells Ryan that she, Paloma and Rosario are gone after they pay her the festival money. Ryan hopes she keeps her word this time.
  • Mercy then finds Ryan and insists she register Paloma as his daughter, pronto, and he reveals that she is actually not his. Sometime later, she tells Joe the truth about Paloma, worried, as Danilo can now impregnate any old bimbo and win the 20% of them.

  • Mercy and Danilo have another confrontation and Danilo shuts Mercy up by telling her that she is looking mighty good lately, much to her surprise.

Arley begs her to listen and tells her that there is money hidden in Cielito Lindo and remembers when he first stashed it there, as Zulima was nosing about. He tells Amanda that he is sure the Lucios weren’t able to get it out and she should go get it and use it for their child. Amanda shakes her head but Arley begs her to use it for herself and for him because he’s going to escape. Amanda cries as Arley begs her to help him escape.

La Doble Vida de Estela Carrillo #7, 5-16-17, Breaking News: Dead Men DoTell Tales

Anita, here, substituting for Alfredo, so he can have the night off. I apologize for the lack of detail, but my heart is in it. Some short scenes have been combined. Ok, here  we go---

Lo de Ayer
Laustela tries to convince Mr. Everwood of the real reason for the mass shooting at the Foundation. He refuses to believe that it’s all about the gangs trying to re-establish lost territory by frightening the citizens of Riverside into looking to the gangs for protection. That and then recruiting new gang members, even from the Foundation. Estela is there to warn him. He still doesn’t believe her and points out that the home invasion at Estela’s proves the action was taken against her specifically and not by throwing blame for the danger to the neighborhood on others. She knows that El Caravelas, a gang member is involved. Everwood is still not convinced as he’s the nephew of Bettina, who is very helpful to the foundation. He thinks Estela is the one responsible and trying to blame others.

Meanwhile, at the La Furia offices, after the reading of the will, Ryan is trying to calm a very agitated Mercy saying he will never abandon her or leave her unprotected. That’s not what she’s worried about. She’s worried about Ryan and what will happen to La Furia in the hands of that buffoon—as she points to Danilo. Ryan is calm. He says what’s written is written and he plans to follow his father’s wishes.

 Parte 1~~

John suddenly suspects that Zulima and brother Oscar have been lying to him about Yolanda still being alive.  Zuli manages once again to “bewitch” the damnable bastard into believing she knew nothing; but Oscar apparently did.  And, Os didn’t kill Christian like he had agreed to either!  Estela is alive and kickin’ as well.  John is filled with self-doubt for once.  Muy pero muy impactado is he!  Could his brother really be defying him and going behind his back and… why?  Zoo plays Ms. Naïve and helpless. “—Well Oscar’s been really strange lately.  I heard the guards talking about things.  Forgive me!  I didn’t want to worry you.”

La Doble Vida de Estela Carrillo, #5, Friday 5/12/17 Ryan saves Estela, Estela saves Ryan. But who will save Danilo… from his own stupidity?

The old:

Ryan takes Estella, Chayo and Palomita to his mansion. Mercy almost has a heart attack in seeing them, but Ryan says he brought his "family" home, so she better deal with it, or else...
In order to keep up the pretense of a reunion, Estella and Ryan need to share the same room, so Paloma has to sleep with Chayo in a separate part of the house.
Also, Estella just happens to get a glimpse of Ryan's "goods" - the girl likes what she sees and he doesn't mind the admiration. Dudes, I understand that you have to play pretend, do you wanna make things easier by just going for it?

Mercy goes to a bar and who is there to join her? Young, married Joe, the company lawyer and Mercy's boy toy apparently.
Danilo sees them making out in the car later in the evening - he's sure to take advantage of this bit of information later on. He also realizes that working for El Dorado comes with serious, dangerous strings attached. Will this be enough for him to say no?
On the other hand, Morgana is more than willing to accept the deal.
Mercy and Pedro Carillo apparently share a common history. She has his picture hidden in her room - wonder what this is about...

The new
The Mansion
We pick up with Mercy again, while she’s burning Pedro Carillo’s photo. She looks serious. And crazy.

Estella is in panic mode because Paloma has disappeared (so she believes). The housekeeper explains that she overheard a conversation between Ryan and Mercy – Paloma was present and she was saying that she wants to go back home, in Riverside. So is that where Ryan took the girl?
Estella is about to explode. Why would he take Paloma? How dare he not inform her first? Just then Mercy comes to the kitchen, and doesn’t understand what the big fuss is about? Isn’t Ry Paloma’s dad?
Uhhhh, yeah, sure, but it’s not like he’s very paternal, Estella insists and not even Chayo’s attempts to calm her down succeed. Mercy wonders why Estella decided to testify and tell Ryan about having a child together – were his letters such a turning point for her? Also, maybe she should take some anxiolytics if she’s so nervous (hehe). Chayo thinks a tea would suffice.
Estella wants neither, she storms off in search of Paloma. She won’t take Chayo with her, in case Daddy Kidnapper shows up.

Vino El Amor 5/12/17 Alternate Ending is Finally Dunne

It's been a little while since I've visited wine country. It was time to catch up with some of the people I've met there. While it's usually a little more relaxed than the social scenes in the major cities, it's not without tales with more juice than the grapes in Napa Valley. Here is a section from my forthcoming book, More Grapes of Wrath.
– D.D.

It was 1 AM and David Robles could not sleep. Most would think that normal for a bridegroom, even one who had previous experience of this event. The truth was he had looked for any excuse to not marry Graciela.

Vino El Amor: Alternate Endings 5/11/17

Note:  This will have multiple endings added as they come in.  Mine is posted on its own only because I am extremely verbose.  My apologies if that looks narcissistic.  Julie's has been added.

Delilah's ending

Luciana realizes that the best thing is for her to finally put HERSELF first. She tells her family that she realizes she needs to be away to grow and pursue her love of wine and so she is going to travel through Europe and taste wine, maybe work at a vineyard. It's heartbreaking for David especially who begs her not to leave, but alas she does anyway vowing to always love him.

Vino el Amor y Se Fué, Postmortem, 5-11-2017

ALONG CAME LOVE, PASSED THROUGH AND KEPT ON GOING

Disgraced Came Along and Ruined Everything
FIRST AND FOREMOST
Julie:  Here are some lessons I've learned from VEA:
- Women are hopelessly fickle.
- Men are hopelessly fickle.
- True love is a fantasy.
- People really can change...they can get meaner and dumber.

Susanlynn: So many lessons learned via this show....all of them depressing .  In most telenovelas in the past, women viewers want to be with the galan and male viewers want to be him. In this show…not so much.

Now, presenting a DisGraced Graciela with a few Dudveeds thrown in for variety. This round-up is not comprehensive or complete. Many of the contributions come from 4 of our wordsmiths, Kirby, Susanlynn, Lila and Julie. The Patio thanks them for the diversion and helping us through this show.

Urban: on Graciela: “She is a legend in her own mind. She thinks she is All That and a Bag of Chips.
