Sueño de amor #89 Wednesday 7/20/16

So they didn't wait until the last commercial break on  Friday to tell us of the time change on Monday to 3:00 ET/2:00 CT.

Anyway, we left off with a tearful Pato praying to God and begging her dead angel of a grandmother to intercede on her mother's behalf.

Luca and Ricardo arrive at Esperanza's house to take Pato and Esperanza out to dinner. Pato tries to give them a heads up about her mother's decision to shave her head, but Esperanza comes out before she can so they can see with their own eyes. Ernesto tells her how beautiful she looks. She scoffs at that but he tells her it is the absolute truth. Even Luca tells here how good she looks. Esperanza laughingly says she will accept that because he is her daughter's love and she will accept Ernesto's compliment because he says he loves her. After all of the compliments, Esperanza decides it is time to go. They are all smiling.

Back at the hotel, Cristina and Ricardo are planning on spending another night together in Cuernavaca. Ricardo is pouring champagne as he asks the Dr.(of pedagogy Cristina) if she is hungry. Yes, she is. He offers her fruit and champagne. There are strawberries and grapes. What does she want? She chooses the grapes which of course he feeds to her. That does not last long before they are kissing and sharing the same grapes.

Yago #38. Tuesday July 19, 2016. Life Can Turn On A Dime And Lady Luck Is A Fickle Mistress

You like plants? I like plants! You like stealing? I like stealing! You like snatching other people's kids? I like snatching other people's kids! We should totally hang!

Hello Patio Pals! We’ll have to make do with a summary until a volunteer takes over this recapping spot.

Flashback. Abel thinks back to Omar’s funeral. “Through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault... It’s my fault that Omar is six feet under, that Melina and Jonás lost their son and that Bruno lost his brother”. Abel is visibly twitchy. Lucio leans in and whispers a warning in his ear: “I know what’s going through your head. Don’t you dare!”

Un Camino Hacia el Destino-Week 22 (July 18, 2016) 2nd Half

Some things are heating up on the Camino, some things are cooling down, some folks are happy, some folks aren’t. Isn’t this just like the real world?

Don Fernando (QEPD) has walked out of the confines of his malady along the train tracks to heaven. (He’s in a better place now where he doesn’t have to hear the people around him squabbling over his fortune and he knows who he is.) There is a casual dress funeral.

Sueño de Amor (SdA) #88. Tuesday July 19, 2016. Bye-Bye, Mein Lieber Hair! Farewell, Mein Lieber Hair! :(

I can't believe I gave up carbs and quit Azteca for this $h*te!
At a glance

-- A sad sad episode! Pox on Osorio to the hundredth power!

A closer look

Esperanza is at the hospital for another chemo session. That condescending video of perfectly healthy young models telling cancer patients how to feel, is still playing on a loop. A nurse escorts Raquel in. She asks where is Esperanza’s handsome hubby. “He’s not my husband”, corrects Espe. He’s the most gorgeous man that Raquel has ever seen. Esperanza admits that Ernesto is very good-looking and 99.9% of viewers nod in agreement. Raquel enquires whether Esperanza has experienced any of chemo’s side effects on her body, skin and hair. Esperanza tries to change the subject but Raquel says it is best to face these things now.

The boys leave the office laughing. Present time, Abel contemplates the plaque and ruminates: “Omar was the brother I never had, my accomplice, my friend. I sacrificed him to have a future. A future that never came. I didn’t realize that without Omar, there was no future.”

Sueño de Amor (SdA) #87. Monday July 18, 2016. Absurd And Absurder With A Gillette Commercial Thrown In For Good Measure!

The love scene we'll never get to see from the real protagonist couple of this novela, which Osorio ruined before they even got a chance to get together. Pox on you, Juabbly Juan!

Hello Patio Pals! Since I'll be providing a detailed recap for Tuesday's episode, this here is a summary of what went on in Sueñolandia last night.

Ricardo formally asks Cristina Vélez Valderrama (CVV) to be his novia. Selena and Rodrigo formally ask Abril Sousa Vélez (ASV) to be their little sister. Like father like children! Esperanza, Pato Cuac and Pedro stopped existing for them in the space of two months. They're just like daddy, Mr. The Fast and the Furious!

Tres Veces Ana # 40 - Drumroll....and....curtain!

Before we dive into the recap, and since we have been getting some questions in the comments and interest from potential recappers, I wanted to put this up here. We would absolutely love (not to say need and be very grateful for) some additional recappers for TVA! If you think you would like to give it a go, please send me an email! There are at least two nights right now that Sneaky and I would appreciate help with and you can probably even have your pick of which ones. This is an awesome crowd - just read all the comments, and an absolute joy to be recapping here!

With that out of the way....we are getting close to the opening night of the Danzaire show and at Danzaire HQ everybody is preparing for it!

During her break Ana Lu sits down with Javier and they talk about both of them being nervous. It’s Ana Lu’s first time with the group, but Javier has been doing it his whole life, and experience doesn’t really cure nerves. Ana Lu tells Javier she met Inaki and really liked him and then gushes about Tadeo, who helped her out multiple times and said such wonderful things to her. She inadvertently interprets Tadeo’s words on losing his wife to mean that Javier’s and Inaki’s mother is dead. Javier is surprised his father would say that, and Ana Lu corrects herself realizing she made a mistake. She feels bad and asks about the mother. The mother has left them when both kids were small.

Sueno de Amor, #86 Everybody loves somebody, but not everybody is loved by somebody...

I'll keep this short and to the point, you're all welcome to add anything that I might have forgotten in the comments, since this won't be your usual scene by scene recap.
Pablo, I left you a message in the first comment.

First, a little recap of our main characters and what they've been up to.
We're at Margarita, Felix, Viviana and Mario's wedding. Nothing like a double wedding to keep the judge confused about the names of the wedding party. The poor woman almost had Mario and Felix get married because she wasn't quite up to date with the couples.
If the judge has problems figuring out who is marrying who, then it's a relief she's not aware of what is going on with the wedding guests. That would really give her a headache.
For starters, we have the Pato-Luca-Erasmo-Kristel-Pedro-Aranza circle of terminally confused love. Who loves who and why and since when has become quite a chore to remember right now, so let's just say that everyone is mostly miserable. Yes, PatoLuca are reconciled today, but it's only mid-afternoon, so much can still happen before night fall.
There is also the Estrella-Adrian-Salma-Kiko slightly incestuous story: Estrella is Kiko's sister and Salma's nemesis from school, Kiko loves Salma, Adrian and Estrella love each other and Salma started to love her baby after seeing the ultrasound, so much so that she's even thinking about keeping the child after birth. Would Adrian be up to the challenge of raising a child with his abuser? Gulp.

Everyone still with me? OK!

Yago #36. Thursday July 14, 2016. Faceoffs And Fireworks, Regrets And Waterworks

Sobbing in scarlet is the way to suffer.

At a glance

-- The ratchet drama of the Sara-Yago-Ámbar love-hate-revenge hexagon is in full swing.
-- Abel seeks atonement across the border.
-- Julia doubts the veracity of the revelation about her origin.
-- The Avengers squad have a new plan to expose Camilo.
-- Camilo abducts Selma and makes her an offer she can’t refuse. She goes ahead and refuses it anyway.

A closer look

Flashback. Sara muses over happy endings and reminisces about happier times. Much younger versions of her and Ámbar are shown eating ice-cream and people-watching in the park. Sara used to believe in happily-ever-after. She used to think that her life would be like a romantic movie where she would meet the perfect man and share a blissful existence with him. Instead, Sara was condemned to a different life altogether. She recalls that time when the pigeon she tried to scam ended up beating and raping her. “Maybe love does exist. Maybe happy endings are real. Just not for me.”

Un Camino Hacia el Destino-Week 22 (Jul 18, 2016) 1st Half

Apologies for not attending to Caray Camino business. I didn’t get a new page up for the second half of the week, but we were unceremoniously dumped for a Univision spectacular—as though Un Camino isn’t spectacular enough. It was enough to confuse me. This new page will serve until this coming mid-week.

Now, where were we? Some of us are feeling more sympathy for Amelia, some much less sympathy for Pedro, none for Luis, sorry Alicia was dragged into his malfeasance, happy that Little Pedrito has two parents to play with, worried about Javier’s intentions, expect Camila to become a street kid, cautious regarding Marissa’s health and state of mind and seriously concerned about Don Fernando’s most recent crisis, but mostly we wonder what will IzzaFreeza do next. Seriously, it’s about time she got a new “luke,” everyone else has.

Yago, #35, Wednesday 7/13/16: The bride wore white... I mean red... I mean white

Yago has a flashback:

Everyone loves a happy ending. In classic movies, the happy ending always begins with a question: "will you marry me?" Yago remembers how he, as Omar, was practicing that big question in front of a mirror when, to his horror, he realized that the ring was missing. Bruno had taken it. Omar reassures the boy that, while marrying Sara will make Omar very happy, Omar wants Bruno to be happy as well. This satisfies Bruno, and he gives the ring back.

In the present, Sara tells Yago that even though she loved Omar, she framed him for the casino heist anyway. "Do you still want to marry me?" She has tears in her eyes; not tears of shame, but tears of terror that this awesomely rich hot guy will reject her.

Yago tells us: I don't believe in happy endings, much less "forever." I know those are the things of fairy tales, and in most cases looks are deceiving. There are princesses who, deep down, are worse than dragons.

Sara's too desperate to wait for Yago's thought-bubbles. She prompts him for a reply. She offers to explain why she betrayed Omar. She didn't do it for the money, as Yago thinks. "I won't justify myself," she begins... and then she proceeds to justify herself.

Tres Veces Ana - #38 - Friends or Enemies?

So let’s begin! Scenes are rearranged somewhat for coherence.

Yago, Capitulo 33: Who’s Your Daddy? Who’s Your Mama?

Ambar stares at Yago in shocked silence after he tells her his true identity (Omar Guerrero) and his true intentions (revenge). He says he knows it’s hard for her to believe, as he reaches out to touch her. She jumps up and away from him as if his touch burns, and says, yeah, it’s hard to believe. She tells him that he and Sara are made for each other (son tal para cual); they’re both liars and traitors. Abel comes in and interrupts, asking if Ambar is ok, but she flinches from his touch too and continues to stare daggers at Yago. Yago says he’s sorry for everything and makes a quick exit.

Bruno is busy writing a blog page in honor of Alejandra, when Matias comes into his room asking if he’s busy. “For you, never. Come in.” In response to his question, Bruno explains that he’s writing a report on justice for school. Matias very cynically says justice doesn’t exist. Bruno explains, “I’m not speaking about the justice they teach you in school, but that which is inside you, that pushes us to make change.” Matias says he gets it.

Tres Veces Ana - # 36, In which Valentin is the winner in every scene

As we settle in for another episode of TVA all bright eyed and bushy tailed (and hoping to remain that way for the duration of the episode), Llora and Leonor are on their way to visit Tin. Llora was convinced by Leonor to go there to show the latter where Llora’s novio lives. In reality we remember that Ramiro has painted quite a picture to Leonor on the variety of collages in Tin’s living room. This time we are spared the back-and-forth of ‘I am thirsty, won’t you invite me in?’ and ‘But I am in a hurry, let’s drink water at the restaurant’ and we actually see Tin opening the door and letting Llora and Leonor in.

Tres Veces Ana #35: Old Memories, New Methods Or, Revelations and Self-Recriminations

The “new Marcelo” accuses Evaristo at gunpoint of having concocted one heck of a despicable lie.  Ol’ Ev as usual can explain.  SanMarco tells him that his mind may not remember much but his muscles and instincts are totally on top of things; the man in front of Ev now is very capable of pulling a trigger, so don’t test him!  (Yeah, you’re just as likely to have pigs fly with this old windbag!)  Ev starts spinning another one.

Evaristo puts the blame on SanMarco for not following his directions and going with the man at the airport like he told him to.  Oh, and that explains why he lied about that picture he gave him, and lying bout her being his wife. Then she’s lying dead in a construction site while two are trying to kill him?  Ev tells him if he’d wanted him dead he’d have been dead a long while back already. ---(NOT!  It’s no wonder Marcelo’s alive with the group of half-baked wannabe crooks this guy’s got on his payroll!  Ev thinks a bit too highly of himself in this biz.)  No, Marcelo Salvaterra had numerous enemies.  Could have been any one of them…..

At the same time, Ramiro breaks a window to enter Valentin’s hole-in-the-wall apartment.  He sees what a dump it is and notes all the liquor bottles –Yup, he’s an alchy.  He then sees the pictures of Ana Laura plastered over the wall and realizes this dude’s not only a fortune-hunter but a stalker who’s had this developing relationship planned all along.  (Duh-duh-duhhhh!!!)

Yago Capitulo 32 -Beautiful Crime

All of the scenes in this episode kind of reminded me of this song.  Such an avoidable sadness.

We finally see Alejandra's numb body. Bruno&Yago both got anonymously called by Damian. They almost fight but Yago reveals that he had sweet nothings to do with Ale's death. Bruno clearly cannot contain his sadness.

We get a flashback of Young Camilo yet again and man is he a psycho. From a calm, loving  fairy tale reader he turns into every traitor's worst nightmare. He first shows the traitor Adolfo a glimpse of his favorite flower telling him of the cold history that each of them  hold. Camilo stops to tell Adolfo that he's the next in line to get turned in a leaf. The goons drag him away and drown him mercilessly under water.

-- Cristina is a bore. Ricardo is a ho.

Sueño de amor, Ep. 81 (7.7.16) Life is unfair, while some experience full blown cancer others enjoy full blown romances.

Recycling
Cristina Vélez Valderrama, the firewoman of education test the Gallos to see if they are worth the scholarship. After all, as in bad shape as the Palacios is right now, it will always be way better than Vasconcelos. Margarita encounters the kids on their way out and after greeting them inquires her friend why is she looking so gorgeous.
-Something happened since the last time we saw each other, right? Tell me, tell me... there's that spark in your eyes!
-I have found my daughter! With the help of a pretty handsome man, by the way!
-Yes? Great! And how is she? And how is that bastard of your ex husband?
-IN JAIL! -answers Ricardo from the open door claiming that their chat could be heard all the way to the patio.
Margarita melts herself (se deshace en halagos) in compliments to the Bombón and excuses herself to leave this two tórtolos (love doves) alone. The way you look at each other could make this office get on fire! Never fear my dear, the firewoman is here...
-How do you know Margarita? -asks Cristina
-Oh well, it is a very long story that I better tell you tonight with luxury of details...
-Tonight?
-Yes, I have plans for you... wink!

Esperanza tells Ernesto how worried she is and how bad that is in her condition because Pato HAD TO FINALLY ATTEND SCHOOL and to her bad luck, she will also be tested and she didn't study and she doesn't know the formulas by heart.

Ernesto only hears a buzz and sees Esperanza's lips moving, because his head has its own problems, somebody betrayed him and he needs to tie that end asap.

Yago, #31, Thursday 7/7/16: Buried Hopes

Lucio wanted everything that was Omar's. Well, it's happening now. Not only did he get Omar's girl, Omar's son, and Omar's family - he also got Sara's betrayal and a prison sentence. How sweet! Will he also die in a prison riot? Or will he be befriended by a helpful mobster who's willing to leverage Lucio's rage for his own purposes? I can't wait to find out!

It must be the next day, because Sara is wearing a different dress. Lucio's been sentenced to six years and a fine of 120 "salarios" for his fraud. I don't know how much a "salario" is, but I'll bet that 120 of them add up to more than a slap on the wrist. He stares at Sara in disbelief as he's marched out to the waiting van. She stares right back at him.

As the prison guards shove him around, Lucio reflects that this is especially tough coming from the person to whom he's dedicated the best years of his life. The other inmates welcome him with a ticker-tape parade (okay, a shower of trash) as he's brought to his cell. Lucio muses that betrayal has always been at his side; it has the face of an angel, and the name of a woman. He adds, somewhat redundantly, that its name is Sara. Weeping, Lucio tears Sara's visage off of the family photo he was allowed to keep.

Yago #30. Tuesday July 5, 2016. A Bunch Of People Not Careful What They Wish For

Sweetie, it's a misunderstanding! Your boyfriend fell on top of me by accident and the unintentional friction unzipped his pants! This is all very unfortunate!

Hello Patio Pals! We’ll have to make do with a summary until a volunteer takes over this recapping spot.

Fidel’s men encircle Camilo’s men and point their weapons at Camilo. To everyone’s surprise, Selma arrives to the rendezvous. She has a gun and threatens to shoot Camilo for killing her daughter, Fabiana. Camilo wants to have a chat: “You’re on the wrong side! Let me talk to you first!” Selma is determined to kill Camilo but Fidel convinces her to lower her gun and he takes her away. The Mexican standoff is over.

Sueño de amor #80 Wed. July 6, 2016

Here they are: just the facts . . . ;)

So, we will pick up at Ricardo's, with Cristina left breathless after the kiss. They talk about where the kids are and about her ex being in jail. She asks if anything happened to him Ricardo. He assures her that nothing happened. He suggests they call each other "tú" after all they have been through. She isn't too sure about that and prefers "usted" so he does not forget she is his boss. He assures her he won't forget. (She is serious!!!) He just chuckles and walks away. As he turns she notices the blood at the nape of his neck. He had forgotten all about that. She makes him sit down and goes to get first aid items out of the medicine chest so she can treat Ricardo's neck wound. He just sits smiling waiting for her to come back.

At Margarita's, Kristel tells her family all about her wanting to get away from it all by goimg to study abroad in Barcelona if she gets a scholarship at one particular university she has applied to. Mario tries to dissuade her saying that you don't make a big decision like that so quickly. Her mother Silvana says she agrees with Mario but thinks if she leaves she won't be able to get rid of her (as in kill her). The you know what hits the fan when Kristel tells them she could be leaving next week if all goes as planned. She would like to be in her father's wedding though . . .

Sueño de Amor (SdA) #79. Tuesday July 5, 2016. And Now Wee Boys & Girls, Prepare Your Innocent Eyes For A Playful Session Of Torture!

Thank goodness this is a family show! Can you otherwise imagine the level of gratuitous violence and voyeuristic sadism?

Hello Patio Pals! We’ll have to make do with a summary until a volunteer takes over this recapping spot.

One of Óscar’s thugs clocks Ricardo on the back of the head with a pistol butt and knocks him out. Ricardo comes to three seconds later and manages to defeat the baddies. Instead of getting his bleeding head wound looked at, Ricardo follows the fleeing thugs to a warehouse, turns off his cellphone after calling Cristina and asking her to take care of his kids, then goes in alone without calling back-up. Logic, common sense and self-preservation collectively committed suicide after this!

Yago #29. Monday July 4, 2016. The Sprinkler Sprinkled, The Hunter Hunted, The Betrayer Betrayed

Resting Iván Sánchez face
At a glance

-- To put it politely: This fecal matter just got real!

A closer look

Lucio is arrested outside Casa Guerrero just as he and Matías were preparing to flee the country. Matías is distressed by the scene and keeps tearfully asking: “What’s happening, Papá?”. He bangs on the police car window and pleads with the officers not to take his daddy away because “he didn’t do anything”. Lucio reassures his son that everything is going to be alright. The poor kid continues to cry while Sara tries to console him. Yago observes the scene silently and thinks to himself: “There are moments that haunt you (perseguir) all your life and this is one of them. I know that I’ll never forget the sorrowful expression of Matías when he saw the man he thinks is his father being apprehended. I knew that my revenge would cause collateral damage (daños colaterales) but I never imagined hurting my own son”.

Tres Veces Ana #31: Murderess Most Foul and A Murder Most Fouled

Part 1:

Once again we’re ogling poor Jennifer’s descent sans benefit of parachute as Ana Leticia looks on.  (According to The Splat Calculator at a body weight of say, 120 lbs., poor Jennifer’s fall from grace was the equivalent of being hit by a car going approximately 77 mph.  ¡QEPD! )  A-Mimi, her feet back on solid ground once more, looks over her handiwork and drives off.  Ho. Hum.  And meanwhile…..

Mariano’s sexratary, Adriana, reports she’s been unable to reach his fiancée on either her cellular or at the house.  It all goes to voice mail/ the recorder.

In Orlando’s hospital room, Evaristo gives our bruised and contused Orly back his cell phone –sans any files having anything to do with Ana Lucía.  He warns our scared little   suffering shakedown artist in training that the phone can now be traced by Ev’s tracking devices and so he’ll always be able to keep tables on him and his calls.  To be certain that Orly keeps mum, he’s got his grandson there as his personal bodyguard.

At the same time, Santiago and the other architect Jen was supposed to meet with arrive at the job site.  The guy tells Santi that he understood she was engaged to be married.  Santi figures she thought he’d died or deserted her and it makes sense.  They turn towards the entrance to the building and see Jen laid and splayed like a rag doll.  Santi races over to her.  She gains consciousness momentarily.  “—It’s you!  Marcelo!!”  He has a few seconds to register that she knows him as Marcelo Salvaterra with a flashback to the visit to Iñaki’s new digs and his question to SanMarco if that name sounded familiar to him.  Well it does now!

Sueno de amor, #78 Hot stuff Ricardo Alegria in hot pursuit of an old lady with a cane

Side note:
It’s the first time I’m watching the new credits. As of now I believe Espe and Ric are still endgame, but maybe Osorio wants to do a poll or something similar, to have the audience « decide » the ending. Ha! Like anyone would care that much to actually vote…

Part 1
Crazy Tracy of the Crazy eyes arrives at Anastasia’s house. The baby is crying, so Ana hands her innocent little bundle to the lunatic who couldn't even love her own kids. Luquita better not have a long memory, being in the company of these two might scar him for life.
They start chatting about each others problems. Ana is worried about the DNA test, Tracy is worried because Ernie tried to kill her. She needs to hide from him, she’s desperate.
She further explains how Murillo chickened out at the last moment, shooting into a pillow and how he had a fake blood make-up kit in his back pocket just in case. Tracy agreed to give him all the money and jewelry that she had in exchange for her life. And now she’s dirt poor and has no place to stay. Could Ana help her ? Please ?

Sueño de amor, Ep. 77 (6.30.16) While Esperanza almost dies, Ricardo lures Cristina to his bedroom (el muerto al pozo y el vivo al gozo).

We start this episode with a visit to the precinct, where Ricardo Alegría Sandoval (ex ''secret'' agent turned teacher) and Cristina Vélez Valderrama (the firewoman of education/life guru to raped girls), are reporting to Gilberto Rentería de la Fuente (tired of seeing Ricardo's mug even in the soup), the assault she suffered in hands of her ex husband Oscar Sousa Villaurrutia (women abuser slash bastard kidnapper). Luckily for her, super duper agent and justice avenger Ricardo Alegría Sandoval was there to save her in the nick of time and now he is getting a call from Baxter Bestertester (who will probably lose his job for doing things he shouldn't be doing), who has seen Abril Sousa Vélez somewhere in Colonia del Valle.
Since the girl is alive and there's no time to lose, the couple that used to hate each other but are now reunited by the circumstances, take off to look for her, leaving the report for another time (that if the writers remember to tie this loose end, if not, they'll forget about it and will never be mentioned like happened to Instituto Vasconcelos. Have you heard from it lately?)

Baxter's pictures show the girl and then an old woman grabbing her. Could it be that Oscar has a nanny to take care of her?

Yago, #27, Wednesday 6/29/16: The Bad Penny

Hi everybody. I was at Best Buy tonight, and I saw Lucio's new smart TV. Or should I say, his ex-TV.

Fidel's having a flashback. A young man is making a quick buck challenging people to a shell game in the park. A young Fidel watches for a while and decides to play. Naturally, he loses. The next customer, a young Camilo, also loses, but does not accept his loss as gracefully as Fidel did. He pulls a knife on the cheater. Fidel comes forward and asks for the honor of the first punch. They smack the guy up, take his money, and run off. Camilo thanks Fidel for his help, and a forevermore friendship is born. Oh and they both have lucky coins. Watch those coins!

In the present, Fidel fingers a coin and tells Yago that his best friend became his worst enemy. That man was Camilo Michell. (Fidel cuts Raul's corpse loose from the chair.) "You have your own revenge to complete," Yago acknowledges. "It's time to begin," Fidel says, stuffing the coin into the dead man's pocket.

Sueño de amor #76 Wed. 6/29/16

So, here we go! I had some technical difficulties tonight. Let us just say, my recording was less than ideal.

The surgery has started. Ernesto is being supportive not just with opening his wallet but to Pato and also Pedro as his own children. They all have high hopes for Esperanza's survival.

Long hours of surgery . . . .

Pedro talks out his problems with Kristel with Ernesto. Pablo is reluctant to have any involvement with her because of the possibility of her blackmailing him using her depression and not eating.

At Margarita's house, Kristel is bemoaning her solo state without boyfriends. Her whole family cheers her and tells her how much they love her. Although smiling, on the inside Silvana is happy Kristel has ended up alone.

Yago #26. Tuesday June 28, 2016. The Pawns Are Turning Against Their King

Hello Patio Pals! We’ll have to make do with a summary until a volunteer takes over this recapping spot.

Lorenzo is the one who received a bullet as a result of the scuffle with Teo. The next scene shows medical personnel scrambling to save a patient who went into cardiac arrest. Lorenzo starts narrating: Ever since he lost his father, he has been wondering how his own death would be like. Would his dad be waiting for him in the great beyond? The patient is revived. Unfortunately, it’s that old crook Damián. Young Lorenzo is well and truly dead. Abel is devastated following the loss of his vato/young man, his “keed” (kid). Teo apologizes. Abel says he is the one who failed Lorenzo. He is equally responsible for the death of Lorenzo, just as he is to blame for the death of Lorenzo's father, Facundo. Later on, when Abel and Teo prepare to bury the body in the woods, Abel removes Lorenzo’s chain, the one that once belonged to his dad. He grabs Lorenzo’s lifeless face between his hands and, fighting back the tears, he bids him farewell: “Hey kid! I hope that you’re finally going to be OK, that you will be with your Papá and that you’re finally at peace. I also hope we see each other again, somewhere, some time.” In a later scene, Abel visits Facundo’s grave to give him back his son’s chain, the chain of “their” kid. He assures him that not a day goes by where he doesn’t think about him. If there is justice in this life, Abel knows he will be punished for what he did. Getting his just deserts will be a relief for Abel. He would finally be at peace.

Sueño de Amor (SdA) #75. Tuesday June 28, 2016. Have Faith In Your Dreams, Especially The Ones Where You Don't Die

Hello Patio Pals! We’ll have to make do with a summary until a volunteer takes over this recapping spot.

Kracy calls her kids to taunt them: Did they get a chance to see Filomena, the venomous froggy Mommy left in the house? Ricardo takes the phone away from Rodrigo and forbids Kracy to talk to his kids. He sends a text message to Baxter asking him to locate (ubicar) Kracy’s phone number. Kracy is in Mexico City, comes back Baxter’s answer, almost instantly. Kracy threatens to kill Ricardo with one shot to the forehead. After she hangs up, Ricardo phones Baxter to ask for another “favor”: Please find Cristina’s missing kid and let Tricky Ricky get all the credit and grateful nookie

Ernesto brings Esperanza flowers and accompanies her to church along with Pato and Pedro. In case you’re wondering, no, the walls didn’t bleed when the handsome devil walked into church. A two-minute praying scene to La Virgen de la Paz ensues.

Sueño de Amor (SdA) #74. Monday June 27, 2016. Nothing Like A Solid Slab of Lala Cheese To Free You From These Love Pains!

Ah the joys of villana-imposed parenthood!
At a glance

-- When lies, blackmail, guilt and murder all fail to heal heartache and lovesickness, one must turn to Lala’s delightful range of dairy delectables for comfort! Because a gassy stomach will always distract you from a broken heart!

A closer look

Cristina crosses paths with Óscar, her abusive ex-hubby, at the shopping mall. He is going up the stairless escalator, rocking his signature salt-n-pepper quirky quiff. She is coming down the stairless escalator, slaying that nude-colored dress whose plasticky fabric hugged, nay, suffocated, her pneumatic curves. She sees Óscar’s face clearly (we don’t), recognizes him immediately and runs after him. When she finally catches up to him, it turns out he is some other dude. Two questions boggle and perplex the viewers at this point:

Yago, #25, Monday 6/27/16: "Doesn't it feel good to tell the truth?"

Hold onto your hats. When Yago characters show up for an episode, they mean business!

We begin with a memory. I hadn't yet figured out how to do captions during this part so I'm not sure exactly what was said, nor even whether it was Yago's memory or Lucio's. But Yago and Lucio are playing in Jonas's workshop, and then Lucio is getting scolded by his mother (or grandmother). Yago says Lucio should have thought twice before betraying Omar.

In the present, Lucio's had a giant smart TV delivered. What a great daddy! What a nice house full of fine things!

Alejandra/Susana and Damian/Rufino chat in Dam's car. He invites himself to her apartment, but she says no, her roommates are too nosy. Dam says congratulations, you passed my first test. Now pass my second test: give me your real name. Ale says she'll tell him hers if he tells her his. Dam says he's Oscar Bravo. (Oh, come on. And I'm Juliet Sierra! Meet my friend, Victor Whiskey X-Ray Yankee Zulu!) She says she's Felicia Requena. "Doesn't it feel good to tell the truth?" Damian asks. She gets out of the car and pretends to fumble with her keys as he drives off. Then she takes off down the street. Dam in fact only pretended to drive away; now he follows her on foot.
