Papá a toda madre Wednesday 1/24/17 Capítulo 8: More is Not Necessarily Better When Less is Barely Tolerable--OR--A Mystery Shoe Box is Not Opened

At Jorge's house, Jorge takes Samuel’s tablet away from him. All technology is off limits for Samuel for a month unless he tells him who put the porn on his tablet. Any kind of homework he has to do on the internet will have to be done under Jorge’s supervision. Samuel asks if Jorge talks to his mom. Jorge stumbles as he always does with the truth: no, sometimes, maybe. She is very busy with the Carthusian nuns. She is okay and said she would be calling Samuel or writing him. She sends her regards. Samuel wants to know why she didn’t send him some hugs. She doesn’t love him anymore. Jorge tells him it is not like that. She still loves him. He asks for his tablet so he can send her a message. That is not happening but Jorge says it was a good try. He is being punished unless he puts things right or tells him who put the pornography on the tablet. Samuel is left to stew on his bed.

Renée is having dinner with Dr. Lupe at her place discussing her graduate school problem. He offers to help her with whatever he can with but he thinks that the only way for her to not to worry about her visa, her admission, or anything else is to apply for American citizenship. She agrees but now is not the time in her life for that. She turns and talks to the photo of her mother that has been set up with a candle like a little shrine. She asks her mom to give her a hand with the mess she is in. She promises to clean up her room and put everything she loved in order. Dr. Lupe just smiles as Renée tries to explain talking to her mother.

Caer En Tentacion #68, 1/23/18: Time To Play Hard Ball

  • There's a crisis of faith at the jail between Alina and Santiago who is asking her for cash from the kids to plan who knows what through his jail-mate's connections.  Alina refuses, guessing something's up.  "--Get another lawyer if you really don't think I'm acting in your best interest.  Things take time!  It won't be long now.  It's your right to be let loose without convincing proof of the crime.  This judge knows that.  Trust me!  I will get you out of here."  Santi holds off.

  • At the same time, Raquel squares off with Miriam in the doorway of Mimi's manse de expanse. "--I'm here for Benji.  I am not going to let what you did to Damian happen to Benjamin!"  She accuses Mimi of competing with Dam for his love--and not just motherly love.   "--If I've kept quiet all this time it was for your son!  If you continue with this you'll force me to come out with it." This threat really gets Mimi screamin'.  (Mimi has an Achilles heel, after all. Skeletons apparently are just waiting to tumble out of her walk-in.)  "--Years of terror!  Years of therapy, of not being able to speak about it.  You abused him, Miriam!  Give Benji back or I will not stop till everyone knows, including your grand kids!"

Papa a Toda Madre #7 1.23.18: Guess Who's Moving Next Door?

Mauricio receives a mysterious phone call and is floored by the news he receives.

Wilma calls Renee to the university to inform her that they are reducing the amount of students that are accepted in a US university in her field. Renee asks if she’s safe, as she was already accepted, but Wilma explains that she needs to complete the required forms in time or they may give her spot to a waitlist student. Renee can’t believe the dilemma she’s in: she can’t apply for a student visa without being formally accepted into the university, which she can’t do if she has no money to pay for it. Wilma hopes they find a solution soon but Renee sighs heavily.

Caer en Tentación #66/67, 1/22/18 Lunes: Predators and Prey

Chapter 66: Predators and Prey

Carolina asked Florencia whether she had disposed of the garbage and she said she had; Santiago was taking the bins out. Carolina appeared testy. This was possibly due to Damián's presence but also to Florencia herself. She may have sensed that the girl found Santiago attractive. She was about to have another disagreement with Damián when Raquel had entered. Santiago returned and Carolina pretended that all was well. Florencia knew that something wasn't right in this house when the two women talked about the next day. Raquel volunteered to look after Benjamín again, then left with Damián. Santiago and Carolina disagreed about Florencia's duties. Although she didn't say so Carolina felt like Florencia was encroaching on her territory by cooking for Santiago, who asked her whether she was jealous. She didn't admit to it, but he didn't really give her an opportunity. He persuaded her to finally break her post-partum celibacy.

Papá a Toda Madre, Episode 6, 1/22/2018: Blithering, Blundering Buffoons Just Can’t Find the Words!

Thoughts and memories in italics
[Previously: At Logatoys, Mauricio sees a message from Juan Perez, a man who claims to know María. Fabian reads that Perez is asking to meet in a town close to where Anifer lives and claims to know where María is.] Mauricio wants Fabian to go with him because this thing about “blind dates” has always given him the heebie-jeebies. Fabian doesn’t think they should trust the man because he could be dangerous, but Mauricio thinks he has no choice…sometimes one has to trust a stranger’s generous offer; or do whatever it takes to return a child to its mother. When Mauricio asks if they still have the helicopter, Fabian confirms that they do; then sighs deeply in frustration as Mauricio walks away.

Caer en Tentacion #65, 1/19/2018; Florencia is the 5th wheel and will make sand castles fall (or that Plot Gun is driving me crazy)

Present time:
Antonio tells Alina that if there is no physical evidence tying Santi to the crime, he still is a suspect for being the master mind. Alina asks “what makes you say that?” Antonio replies “the fact that the gun is his and the Beckers have evidence that he owed a significant amount of money to Damian.” Alina looks taken aback.
Raquel goes to see Santi. She looks weak, exhausted and tells him to resist because she needs him with her. She says she knows he did not do it. “Do you know who killed Carolina?” says Santi. She replies “I don’t know who killed her, but I do know how much you loved her, so you would not kill her.” “I thought you knew” Raquel says “no I have some ideas maybe, Miriam, Andres and possibly Vicente he is so unstable, but on the other hand Damian’s family always thought you guys were with us because you were interested in our money.” She then says “if I knew something I would tell you” Raquel continues and says “it’s important to know who took out the gun from the drawer” she speculates that maybe Carol, Santi says “what you think she took the gun out to commit suicide or to kill Damian?” {Ok patio, I need to stop here a minute…now when Raquel found the gun in the drawer she actually handled the gun right? So what is this supposition that Carol took the gun…My head is spinning…someone please tell me that Raquel did see the gun after Carol was already dead!!}

Caer en Tentacion #64, 1/18/18: Treachery is Afoot Everywhere

Part 1 of 2
En el presente
Godoy and Antonio discuss the current state of the case against Santiago. They're working on comparing the fingerprints. Godoy tells Tonio that actually, there is something more important to add to the case. The Becker's lawyer says he has evidence to use against Santiago. Tonio says that until they get fingerprint results, they have nothing. They should have the results later that afternoon. Godoy is convinced this was not merely a crime of passion. Much more is in play. Godoy is going to go back and interview Vicente. Oh, and by the way, says Tonio, Laura was here asking about him. Be careful, he warns, a woman hurt is dangerous.

Miriam apparently saw Alina there at the police station and asks Rueda why she's there. He tells her she has information for him on Santi's case and will be presenting it to the judge. He does warn her that the fingerprints might not match, but not to worry, he has another card to play. It seems Santi borrowed a lot of money from Damian but never paid it back. Dam wrote him a very large check. Miriam is pissed that Dam never mentioned it. They agree that this is enough to put Santi behind bars until he rots away. Rueda says they can't use it right now, but later it could be used as a motive for the attempt on Damian. [ed. note: If this were the case, wouldn't Santi have made sure Dam was dead and not just knocked out?] Rueda proudly puts forth his theory--eliminate Damian; eliminate the debt.

Papa a Toda Madre #4 1.18.18: Business Lessons from a Professional Playboy

The funeral director tells Renee that Lupe paid all the outstanding bills. Renee is shocked.

Outside Logatoys, Neron and Renee discuss what Lupe did. Neron doesn’t know what she should do but Renee is going to pay Lupe back because he shouldn’t be doing those things for her anyway. Neron wishes he could give her some money, but he’s barely getting severance pay, though Renee has an idea on where to get the money to pay Lupe and pay for her Masters.

Jorge informs Mauricio and Fabian that, without Mr. Fairbanks as an investor, they will need layoff half the staff to take care of the most pressing debts. Mauricio is against it, as they barely get paid minimum wage, but barely knows if his employees are salaried or hourly, let alone Jorge’s actual name. Fabian asks Jorge to leave them alone and reveals that he has found a last minute investor as there is a knock on the door. Fabian goes to answer and it’s Renee, who comes asking for a loan from Logatoys, much to their chagrin.

Caer en Tentacion #63, 1/17/18: Will the Real Gun Thief Step Forward, Please?

Sorry for the late post, yesterday was crazy. I had a pet emergency, my kitten has a UTI (and a heart murmur!) and we had to rush him to the vet, in addition to that it was my step dads 72nd birthday and by the time the day was over I was DEAD. Below is your recap!

  • Santiago is arrested, the bullet fragments belong to a gun owned by his dad, a gun that Santiago insists has never left his house, but it looks like it has and he is headed to the big house.
  • Andres takes Raquel home, Cinthia says she will take care of her sister and make sure she gets better. Raquel's doctor thinks it would be a good idea for her to be in a hospital where she can rest and where they can control the environment and make sure nothing upsets her.
  • Raquel is put to sleep and later Mia visits with her, Raquel keeps calling for Santiago who she says only wants to take care of her.
  • Cinthia tells Fede that they need to stick together in order to help Raquel, Mia, again makes everything about herself and accuses them of excluding her and not thinking about her and her feelings.

Papá a toda madre Wednesday 1/17/18 Capítulo 3: Hip! Hip! Dubai!--OR--When the Nice Guy is the Wrong Guy

We start this episode in the funeral parlor where Renée is accepting condolences. There is Nerón her godfather and Flor, Jorge, (whose wife Dulce has not accompanied him), Verónica and Toño. Finally, there is Dr. Lupe who appears with coffee for Renée and tells her (for the first of many times) that he is there for whatever she needs. She is at the casket when the funeral director needs her to sign a few documents for the funeral home. The bill is 50,000 pesos (about $2,663). Renée is surprised by the cost. She talks to Verónica and Nerón about feeling so alone even though she is surrounded by so many people. Verónica reminds her that her mother just passed away today. Renée remarks that this has been the most intense day of her life: a wedding and a death and all that they need is a birth. Flor completes that trifecta by announcing that she feels like she is going into labor. Dr. Lupe takes control of the situation.

Caer en Tentacion #62, 1/16/18: Trapped--Everybody is Trapped

(Scenes not necessarily in order)
Epoca Actual
Raquel tries to get away from the couple that is preventing her from leaving. She is now fully cognizant of who she was with, but not exactly where she is. The "hostage takers" tell her she cannot leave, that her family has been notified and Andres Becker is coming to pick her up. The man persuades her to take her medicine and lie down.

Meanwhile, Santiago has been at the house and after being told the woman he's looking for was there but left, has been sent on a wild goose chase to the local Greyhound station and maybe they can help him. Santi talks to a police or security officer at the bus station.

Rueda reports to Andres that apparently the gun that was used to kill Carolina belonged to Santiago. If it turns out to be true, a judge can put in an order to have him arrested. They think things will work in their favor and against Santi, especially with him alone with Raquel and outside the city. He can be charged with flight.

The little girl waves at Mauricio and runs to him as Mr. Fairbanks and Miranda wonder what is happening. The little girl hugs him tight, but Mauricio demands security take her away as he doesn’t know her. The girl claims that she doesn’t know him either but he’s her father. Miranda can’t believe Mauricio has a daughter, but Mauricio declares he does not and asks Fabian if it’s a joke. Fabian shakes his head and Miranda demands a clear answer. Mauricio tells her it’s all a misunderstanding and asks the priest to continue with the wedding. Miranda, however, reminds him that the little girl is still clutching his leg. The girl tells Mauricio that her mother wrote a letter with his name, Mauricio Lopez-Garza. Mauricio is shocked to hear he knows his name as is Miranda.

Alejandro runs after Renee and demands she go back in the church and marry him. Renee won’t though because her priority is her career and she doesn’t need a man’s permission to follow her dreams. She runs off as Catalina, and everyone, watches.

Caer En Tentacion #61, 1/15/18: Raquel On The Loose

Jardinera apologizes for the mix-up. She's fallen ill to the current scourge sweeping the nation. Rather that delete her always well crafted recap, we'll just have double the pleasure.
  • Cinthia explains to Santiago that Mia's having a fit that her mama's not there; Raquel needs to come home and quick.  They may want to escape reality for a while but if Raq finds out that Mia's been sick and upset that she's not there with her there'll be Hell to pay.  Santi starts furiously looking for Raquel.

  • At the strangers' house in the town, the couple scheme to keep Raq there while the husband calls her rich family members off the phone list of names.  Raq remembers she left without word and got lost. Santi will be worried.  She looks for her phone and it's gone!  No way to contact him now.  She struggles to think straight; between her mental problems and the meds she's on it's hard to get two meaningful thoughts strung together.  The wife promises her that her hubby is out looking for him and will contact somebody for her.

  • Bebo agrees to accompany Lola to her abortion doctor's appointment.  He tries first to talk her out of this but she's stubbornly sticking to her guns.  No way she wants this pregnancy (let alone Juan's demon seed and a reason for Perv Profession pursuing her the rest of her life).  They head off once the babysitter arrives, and Stalker Man is there in his car spying on the two of them going off arm in arm.

Caer en Tentación #61, 1/15/18, Lunes: Obstacles

Chapter 61: Obstacles

Just the facts tonight due to time constraints and playback issues.

Cinthia called Santiago about Mia while he looked for Raquel. He did not tell her that Raquel was missing while she told him little about Mia, only that she was worried about her and that Mia needed Raquel.

Raquel's female captor gave her tea and offered her something to eat while Raquel frantically looked for her cell phone so she could call Santiago. The phone was not in her purse and was most likely in the hands of her captors. Raquel wanted to get outside to get some fresh air but the woman stopped her, telling her it was too dangerous for her to go out. She tried to tell her that she would take care of her while her husband was trying to contact her friends.

Papa a Toda Madre #1 1.15.18: Be Careful Who You Marry

Memories are in italics...

On a yacht in the middle of the ocean, playboy and professional party animal, Mauricio Lopez-Garza (Sebastian Rulli), pops open a bottle of champagne with a sword and romances women by giving them a gold necklace with an “M” on it (not for marriage, oh no, he doesn’t do that) but so his conquests always remember his name. This is only his weekends though…

During the weekdays, he holds board meetings at Logatoys to propose new toys. His latest proposal is a replica of the very same yacht he was partying on all weekend. However, Fabian Carvajal (Mark Tacher), the general manager of Logatoys and Mauricio’s best friend, notes the obvious problem (that Mauricio can’t seem to comprehend): the model for said toy would cost the company a lot of money and, therefore, it would cost a lot to mass produce said toy. If this is the case, Logatoys would have to charge consumers a lot of money for it but most of their consumers don’t have said amount of money or a pool to play with the yacht. Mauricio, however, thinks the children could play with the giant yacht in the bathtub and be done with it. He asks the Logatoys lawyer, Jorge Turrubiates (Sergio Mur), to gather all the permits so they can reconvene in a couple of weeks. Jorge asks for a more concrete date, but Mauricio directs any further questions to Fabian. Once alone, Fabian tries to tell Mauricio that things at Logatoys aren’t on the up and up, but Mauricio is sure the upcoming “Child Day” will boast sales and they have nothing to worry about.

Skipped Scenes in Blue
Previously: Fabi keeps asking Francystco where her daughter is, but as he is about to tell her where Ana is, Francystco passes out. While Ramón tries to hold Fabi back, Fabi curses and yells, “Damn you! You can’t die! Tell me where my daughter is! Tell me! Francystco! Francystco! Where is she?” As Ramón manages to pull Fabi away from Francystco, Francystco coughs and passes out.

Outside, Juana worries that they are taking too long and wants to go inside, but Antonio tells her the cops are doing their job. As Juana insists that they may need her help (yeah, right! if they really do, send in the parrot!), she sees Fabi and Ramón walk out and asks them for the baby. After Ramón tells them that Francystco was not able to tell them anything and that he is dying, Sofía yells from the patrol car, “Don’t even look for her! By this time, that child should be dead!” Fabi tries to dart toward Sofía, so Ramón holds her back, but Juana turns into Calamity Jane as her pigtails twirl furiously and she grabs a pistol from a cop. After she pulls Sofía out of the patrol car, Calamity Jane yells, “Get out! Get out! You tell me right now where my granddaughter is, or you die right here!” Ramón tries to tell Calamity Jane to let Sofía go, but Calamity Jane won’t be stopped.

Mi marido tiene familia Friday 1/12/18 Gran Final #2 Capitulo 102: Not Quite Happily Ever After . . . To Be Continued

Well, this is my last recap for MMTF and I am going to thank someone I have not ever thanked before: I want to thank Juan Osorio for bringing us such a heartwarming story in such an excellent production. It quickly has become one of my all time favorites. I cannot wait until the next season.

Next, I want to thank you, RgvChick, for joining me in recapping this story along with your EdR recapping. It was a pleasure working with you. We made a good team. I hope to work with you again in the future. :)

I cannot forget to thank Alfredo who got us started by posting discussion pages. His initiative made all the difference.

Finally, I want to thank you, the patio, for giving me a reason to write these recaps at all. Whether you simply read or commented once and a while or were a “regular,” your presence was noticed and valued. I always looked forward to reading the comments, opinions and interpretations expressed at our little oasis. I hope to see you on another patio very soon.

Now, back to the very last chapter in the story . . . I cannot wait to read your comments on this one . . .

After hearing the oompah-pah of the tuba one last time . . .

Julieta shows Luz a page of real estate listings. It is time to move. She feels that she and Robert need to make a life of their own. She would never do anything to stop the kids from seeing their family. Luz agrees that it is healthy to maintain a certain distance from the family. Julieta wants to be able to raise her own children without having the family giving their opinion about everything. Julieta is going to continue seeing properties. If Robert does not want to look for a house, Julieta will give him his part of the money and she will use her part of the money as a down payment. Julieta’s phone rings and it is Catalina. Catalina is upset because ungrateful Hugo and Diana are moving out and abandoning her. Julieta tells her that they have the right to have their own home. Catalina is worried about having no company. She feels worse than when Julieta’s father walked out on her. Julieta tells her she will overcome this and that she is going to grow a lot from this experience. Catalina moans that nobody understands her and hangs up.

Enamorándome de Ramon, Friday January 12, 2018; Grand Final, part 1; Taken: The Search for Ana

We begin where we left off last night: “Fabiola keeps playing with her baby as Francisco looks on but doesn’t move. Just then, a woman arrives and asks Fabiola is she knows where a church is. Fabiola walks away for a moment to show the women where it is and then bids her a good day. When she turns back around, she finds that Ana is gone and begins to scream for help…  “

The lady asking for directions just walks off [I am wondering why Fabi didn’t go running after her to find out something and gotten her description to give to police.] Juana comes back and says she couldn’t have been gone for more than five minutes. A few helpful bystanders say they are calling the police.

Caer en Tentacion #59, 1/11/18: Who is the Sicker One?

Some scenes have been combined to provide continuity.

Nacho thinks he knows who the ideal murder suspect is. Santi tells him to spill it, now. Ok, it's Miriam. Think about it. She's someone who knows every move they make, someone who is a master manipulator, who despises everyone around her, so why not Miriam. She could have planned it, she could have been responsible.

Santi can't believe she would ever want to harm her own son. He begins to recall how Dam gave them everything they asked for (and more). He concludes Dam did it just to distract him from figuring out what he and Caro were doing. Nacho still recommends taking their new suspicion to Antonio. After all, they put him in jail with no verifiable evidence, only circumstantial. Now Tonio should be willing to investigate Miriam.

Mi Marido Tiene Familia #101, 1/11/2018: Grand Finale-Part 1 Bloodlines and Family Ties.

This is my final recap for this superb telenovela that I almost didn’t watch. I’m so glad I watched the first episode to give it a try…and every episode thereafter was a joy to view. Every aspect of this TN was exquisitely written and portrayed by actors who were outstanding in bringing it to life.
I want to thank Alfredo for starting us up with the discussion pages which eventually turned into full recaps…started by Jarifa, my masterful co-recapper. Thank you Jarifa for paving the way to the recaps!

Last, but definitely not least, I want to thank all the loyal commentators and followers/lurkers in this patio who made this so much more enjoyable and rewarding with your kind words, insightful comments and creative perspectives. It was an amazing experience; and I especially loved how great the story and patio turned out to be. Hope to see you all in the next patio!

Julieta is in her bedroom when she gets a severe cramp and her water breaks. She slowly walks toward the phone but the cramps get more severe. She slips down to the floor and looks at the phone which is a few feet away but can’t reach it. As she calls out Robert’s name and yells out in pain, Dave comes rushing in wondering what is happening to her, so she tells him to go get his Grandma Blanca. He rushes off as Julieta clamors in pain and breathes deeply. Robert arrives and hears Julieta so he rushes to her. Enamorandome de Ramon #115 1.11.18: Two Big Coincidences & One Evil Plan

Hello all! Well, here we are, the end of another story. Not the best story but one of the best patios I've had the pleasure of being a part of. It's true what they say, "the worse the novela, the funner the patio," and this has never been more evident than during this subpar story.

Regardless of it's shortcomings, it was fun to recap and discuss the actions (we thought about them more than the writers did) with all of you.

To the recap team of RGVChick, Sandie and Cynthia: thank you for taking this journey with me. I know there were some slow and hard times but we powered through it. I couldn't have asked for a funnier or more dependable group to share recapping duties with. Thank you!

As for our loyal commentors: Kirby, Diana, Susanlynn, JudyB, Lucio, Nina, Carvivlie, Steve, and many others. I thank you for sticking with us through the hard and fun times. It's been a pleasure.

See you at the next one! :)

Patio if all goes as planned, this is my last Recap for this TN. I want to thank all that took the time to read and comment on all of our recaps, it is a labor of love. I did enjoy it as much as it was possible to enjoy, there were some pretty dumb episodes, but then there were some very heartwarming ones and overall it did what it set out to do which was to keep us entertained. I for one can say I've had a blast recapping and commenting on this TN and will miss this group of followers. On to the next one I say, although I don't know which one it will be for me. In the meantime you can find me on the CAER patio.

Mi Marido Tiene Familia #99, 1/9/2018: My Way or the Highway? The Bears Take the Highway…

[Previously: As Tulio kneels in front of Imelda, she tells him that she forced her ideas on them without realizing the harm she was doing. In a way, Tulio was right when he said the family would have been better off without her. Imelda is very proud of all of her children for forging on ahead in spite of her. Tulio will always be her son until the day she dies. After Imelda tells Tulio that he needs her forgiveness and she needs his forgiveness, she tells him that the only one who is really going to forgive them both is God.]

In the carpentry shop, Gabriel shows Dave the long-legged spider, one of the first of Dani’s toy collection. When Dave just looks at it, Dani comes over and asks if he doesn’t like it. Gabriel comments that of course he likes it since it was made by experts, but Dani knows something is wrong and assumes that Dave is worried about Julieta…which he confirms. When Dani assures him that he and his little sibling will be fine, Dave agrees though everyone else says it won’t be fine…and because when the baby arrives everyone will forget about him. After Gabriel asks why he thinks that, Dave explains that the baby will be born from Julieta and he wasn’t…and the baby won’t have my scars. Dani sits Dave on her lap and tells him that the baby was not chosen because he was special; the baby was the one that came like in a raffle. She then tells Dave that  he was chosen from among all the children...Robert and Julieta met him and knew he was the best. Dani then shares that she always felt different from the rest; and Gabriel agrees that is true and yet he chose her among all the women…because she is the best, even with her crewcut/hair. Gabriel adds that the only thing Dave has to do is allow himself to be loved. Dani interjects that he also needs to consider that Robert and Julieta love him; and they will love him for the rest of their lives.

Caer en Tentación #56, 1/08/18, Lunes: Threats

Chapter 56: Threats

Just the facts tonight due to minor computer issues

Santiago was served with a summons to family court for a petition for custody of Benjamín. He closed the door on the bailiff.

At the same moment Miriam sneered at Raquel that she was the stupidest woman to think that Miriam would make this deal with her. She told her that Santiago was being served with the document at that very moment. Further that it was a situation of today the baby, tomorrow the business. After she swept out of the room Raquel looked Rueda in the eye, accusing him of planning this all along. His response?
I do what my client asks me to do.”
Raquel, having already told him that this was a very low thing to do, left the room. Andres followed her, saying that he didn't expect this to turn out this way. Raquel didn't accept this, saying that he is playing her and Miriam against each other for his own advantage. She refused to speak to him any further on this and left the office.

Caer en Tentacion #54, 1/4/18: The Secret Not Even Santiago Knew

En el Pasado
A tearful Carolina confesses to Damian that it was her father who attempted the violation. He used to fondle her inappropriately when he got drunk. At the same time he would beat Vicente unmercifully. He never beat her. In fact, when he wasn't drunk, he was nice to her. He treated her like a princess. One night he showed up drunker than usual and it was obvious to both young siblings that he intended to attack Caro sexually. Vic intervened. He knocked out the dad and later dragged him away. His body was found in the river the next day. Everyone assumed he fell in because he was drunk. He did it to save her.

At Raquel's house, meanwhile, she and Santi continue their heart-to-heart talk about--who else, Caro. Santi feels Caro deserves someone better than he--he's just a simple man with an ordinary life and an ordinary household. Raq tries to dispel his impression by using the same words on him that three years later he would use with her, "If you could see yourself the way I do, from my perspective, you would see yourself differently. You are a man of great accomplishment."

Chapter 51: Blackmail Comes in All Flavors

Just the facts tonight due to major holiday activities and minor computer issues

Miriam told Santiago “I am here to see my grandson”, which he was understandably suspicious of. Nicolás' cell began ringing and it was Alina. She answered that it was because she was her grandmother and because “Our father isn't here because he's in the hospital and it's all Carolina's fault.” This offended Nicolás and Mia asked “What does that make us, stepsiblings?”

Caer en Tentacion #49, 12/28/17: Could This be the End of the Beginning for Santi and Raq?

Epoca Actual
Santi is on the phone with Raquel. He suggests angrily that she is capable of taking Benji away from him and he's not going to let that happen. Raquel is astonished by his attitude. How could he think something like that of her. Santi claims that Damian ruined his life and he wouldn't put it past that family to try. Raq insists she's not like Dam's family and reminds him that Carolina had a major part in this game of betrayal. If Raq and Santi couldn't stop them it was because they were cowards and were blind and deaf to what was going on while those two mocked them. So yes, she's guilty, guilty of trusting someone who didn't deserve it. They hang up on each other, knowing they've said some very hurtful things to each other.

Fede observes his mother while SinCin tries to give Santi a break--having just learned about Benji's parentage. She avers, though, that once Miriam finds out, she will be sure to take advantage. Now, Raq realizes that, too.

If she has to send his mother to jail, she will do it.]

At Paraíso Oaxaqueño (the same two-bit, rat-infested motel where Gabriel stayed), Dave wonders if he will be able to go see Robert and Julieta. Yela remarks, “It they want, they can do something.” When Dave asks her if she loves him, Yela replies that it’s not that she doesn’t love him; life has been very hard on her. Dave’s father left her and she had to care for Dave by herself. Dave asks if his father was bad, but Yela doesn’t even want Dave to talk about him; his father didn’t even show up when their house burned down. After Dave reproaches that she left him because he was burned, Yela prefers to watch her TV program.
