Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse #97 1-13-16 HOT ZIGGETY DAWG! Some real action, Muchacha Peeps!
Ciao a todos, I mean a tutti. Heck, how y'all are? This is my first summary. Let's see how well I do summarizing versus writing a novelette!
Right off the bat, my beloved Patio Peeps, one of you have a chance to make a contribution to tonight's summary because silly me started the recording late and I don't know what happened in the first segment! I was able to figure part of it out but I don't know how Fifi explained that yummy huggin' she was giving Pedro so feel free to fill in, Peeps!
(This is what I was able to figure out.) Freddie takes Eloisa to the bank and withdraws bribe money to pay off Vargas, ACorp accountant, who had demanded two years salary in exchange for the information about to whom monthly deposits were being made by ACorp. He takes a suitcase full of money and gives her the address, not the name, of the recipient. The address is of a mental hospital! More on that later.
Eloisa wakes up face down on the pavement in a, shall we say, humble part of town. She tries over and over without success to get people to tell her where she is. Mostly people ignore her but she manages to get enough change from a couple of passersby to call the Rancho. Pedro answers. The family marvels that Eloisa was able to call what with her dementia. Pedro confesses that Eloisa faked dementia to expose someone in the family whom she thought was trying to kill her. Sergio takes off with Fidel. Assvaldo mocks Pedro's desire to go with them.

Gael tells Gia that Agustin wants to see him again. Gael's all up in the air about it- doesn't know if he wants to know him and confesses almost using again. Gia swears she will be with him day and night, all the time to help him through this and she reminds him how dangerous it is for him to take drugs and tries to help him see the situation calmly. Gael thinks its too late for he and Agustin to have a father/son relationship now, he's not a kid anymore. Gia tells to meet Agustin and maybe all he wants is a little love. Gael isn't sure he can give it to him. He agrees this time for Gia to go with him to the meeting tonight.
Aitana's fam plots together. Ai thinks Elo knows Fi and Pietro are together and that's why she cut Fi in to the will. Beg thinks Pietro and Fi are plotting together to take advandtage of Elo's dementia and they can tell the board about it and get Pietro out. Aitana's mom thinks the board won't care that Pietro is fooling around with the help. Beg sends Ai to RLA to snoop around and see if Pietro and Fiorella do have something going on. Ai and her mom protest Beg's using her and treating her like a soulless puppet. (apparently the family who plots together doesn't stay together.) Ai's mom warns her no nookie with Os while she's at the rancho.

I love Alicia's angry texting... she really assaults the phone! Also I like how they have adapted the new communication medium (texting) to fit the old novela standby (overheard conversations) by having her yell out loud as she texts. The new guy overhears and gets hit in the face when she gets mad and flings her phone.
They get him an icepack and start talking. She's glad she's a Mexican (no offense to her Cuban and Columbian workers) so they can understand one another and not press charges for any injury.
He hints that he sought them out (and he's not revealing how he knew that they were going to open up the U.S. subsidiary or where to find it) because he thinks they're going to be huge in L.A. and Iconika's work in Mexico had a huge impact on his brand. Alicia goes to look for her phone, and when she returns he's gone without even leaving his name.

47: Lies and Whispers
The
murder investigation will go on and it looks like most of the press
is just as malleable and hungry as in the US. Maybe more so. I'm not
sure if audience appetite for scandal is equal or greater, but it
certainly isn't less. That means I could be here for quite a while.
That's alright; I love drinking frozen margaritas at my ringside seat
for this modern version of Romeo and Juliet. It's not Verona, but
there is Puerto Vallarta.

Arturo and
Julia kissed on the boardwalk. It was almost as though time had
stopped twenty-five years ago. Or that they forgot what had happened
in between. It didn't matter either way because they were
interrupted by the retro ringtone of Arturo's cell phone. Due to the
situation he couldn't ignore it. As he pulled it out Julia looked
around, aware that Efrain was spying on her for Eladio.
“Arturo,
the police were here,” Nina told him over the phone.
“What
happened? What did they say?”
“They
have a warrant for his arrest and they were looking through the whole
house.”
“No, no,
no, no. Augustin told me they'd be expecting him the day after
tomorrow.” Julia began walking away to go back to the hotel.
“They
said he needs to present himself or be considered a fugitive. Can
you imagine?”
“If you
had told me about this before this wouldn't have happened!” Arturo
took a breath. “Now, calm down. Don't worry. I will find our son
and bring him back.”
“Arturo,
please. Don't let them arrest Erick. Please, I beg you.”
“Please
calm down. Everything will be resolved.”
He ended
the call and looked for Julia. She was not to be seen.

Franco asks Eladio for Gaby's hand in marriage. Eladio asks Gaby to leave. Eladio stands and sticks out his hand and pulls Franco practically over the desk. He congratulates Franco and tells him that he's not getting a penny from the Bank of Gomez-Luna, even if they should marry. Eladio reminds Franco that he's poor, broke and homeless. Franco assures Eladio that he really loves Gaby and he will give her everything. He goes on to tell Eladio that he taught him to work hard, so he knows how to get a job. Eladio is impressed and says that he might give Franco his job back if he finds Aldo. Eladio tells Franco that he fired Francisco for effing up a car deal. He didn't know that Francisco was a dumb as a rock. Eladio snaps his fingers and Franco bolts from the office to find Aldo.
Franco and Gaby retreat to his glass office for a little PDA. Franco tells her that he can't get her a ring because he's unemployed right now, but he will get her something better. Marintia, the secretary with benefits, returns enters the office, so Franco introduces Gaby as his fiancé to his mistress/secretary. Franco wants Marintia to find some address for him pronto. Marintia congratulates them, but shows her true feelings once the couple has departed. She's not down with this. She calls them imbeciles.

Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse, Monday 1-11-16 Eloisa is "tan cuerda como siempre," As sane as ever!
Ciao, Muchacha Patio Peeps! Well, let's get back to our story after an unexpected weekend off! We pick up right where Sneaky left us on Thursday in the living room of the Angeles Ranch with the collective Angeles jaw on the floor upon hearing that HALF the Angeles fortune has been left to Fiorella Bianchi, faithful personal assistant of Eloisa! Predictably, Federica, Assvaldo and Sonia lay in to Fiorella with accusations of goldigging and bewitching the loca Eloisa and Pedro vociferously defends her. Julieta also defends her vigorously and suggests Fiorella go off to her room and she will personally get her if Eloisa needs anything. Pedro, Eloisa and the Lawyer, Robles, go off to the study to talk, as Eloisa puts it, "away from the vultures."
We also had just witnessed the touching scene where the Papi Chulo, Augustin, finally confesses to Gael that he is Gale's Father. Augustin manages to tell Gael that when his Grandfather found out about his relationship with Gael's Mother, he made Augustin leave the country! This is all too much for poor Gael who runs screaming from the room crying loudly "No, no, no, no, NO!" Alina comes in and confirms with the stricken Augustin what he told Gael.

Claudio
drove to the location demanded by the kidnappers. They called and
gave him his instructions and their threat if he didn't deliver the
ransom. He agreed. The detective stayed in the car. Claudio walked
out into the middle of the street. The kidnappers brought Max out of
their car between them. One aimed his pistol at Max's head while the
other aimed his at Claudio. They demanded that Claudio slide the
suitcase with the money to them. One picked it up and the other
said, “Here's a gift from a woman who loves you. You get to see
your son die.”
They
shoved Max down to his knees. A sniper fired at one of the
kidnappers while the other fired at Claudio. The downed kidnapper
got up just far enough to fire another shot, hitting Max in the right
shoulder blade. Police fire and both were down.

Oh, Eladio is really mad now. He threatens to off the little pipsqueak with the one earring if he corroborates that it was indeed him who ratted him out to the authorities.
Super Augie
Augie has been working overtime (and Artie better give him a big bonus for this) and trying to obtain some kind of legal protection (amparo) for Consuelo and Erick. Artie hopes to find his coward of a son before then. He just cannot believe that his offspring is behaving like such a coward. Uh, really Artie? You should know that he's one by now. He asks Augie if he thinks that Erick exterminated The Ratt. Augie doesn't think. Erick may be the scum of the earth, but he's not a murderer, or in this case an exterminator. Besides, he loved that little Ratt of his. Artie states: that sometimes for love we can do the craziest things. Regina enters and lets her dad know that Consuelo and her baby will be alright as long as Consuelo stays put. Artie asks Augie to please speed up the process to obtain the legal protection. Aye aye, captain. Augie is on it. He rushes off to do just that. Artie asks Regina what went down at The Ratt's birthday bash. He wants to know why Consuelo is being incriminated.

Clara is meeting with her pimp who is telling her that heaven is full of regretful people, so therefore, he’s going to forgive Clara and give her another opportunity to work for him, but it’s the last time. A relieved Clara thanks him. Ugh!
She asks him what exactly will she be doing. He replies that if she thinks he wants her to be a prostitute, that’s not what she will be doing. He runs a modeling agency, she would be an ‘edecanes’, a hostess, not an ‘edecarnes’, yuck, yuck, a flesh server. She’ll talk to men and whatever. Clara is looking quite sick at this moment. He hands her the business card of her new client, but before she can take it he reminds her that he gets his cut of the money for giving her the contact. He tells her to call him.

Antes Muerta que Lichita #75 1/8/16... The pot gets hotter about Alicia and Augie-evil in US and the gossip spreads like fire via cell phones at the Mex office.
Aug-evil is trying to booze-out Alicia… She talks while
half-dazed about deserving the position she is in… HE reminds her she almost
married Alex for corporate ladder climbing… She keeps talking some nonsense.
At church, Alex walks away but Bea catches him to call him
on listening to her confession. He is not happy hearing that his dad is
cheating on his mom and his mom is playing the social sweep under rug strategy.
Back to Alicia and Aug-evil… She does not like that he
cheats on Mrs Bea. He keeps talking like
none of this matters one iota to him. He
claims that he can set apart professional and personal relationships. The subject of Sandra comes up. Alicia won’t deny her professional talents
but… (yeah BIG BUTT!!)
She is wabbly and he has to catch her from falling. HE keeps
trying to embrace her… ends up holding her face in his hands… and walks her to
the bedroom (a little too touchy-feely if you ask me). She slams the door on his face (unknowingly
from her boozed status). But from the
last take of her face, we know she is at least partially aware of what is going
on.
The priest and Daphne join the conversation betweek Alex and
her. Bea figures out that Alex being
there is also something Daphne coordinated.
So the new plan of Daphne’s also involving the priest also failed.
Brisa and Braulio are in the apt… She sits on his lap (that did hurt him). They are planning on a new retreat/seminar…
when she brings up that it will be more like a sex therapy course, he is
instantly interested.
Roberto and Gumaro in apt…
They are talking about SHeyla’s whereabouts… Roberto has paperwork that
shows Mateo has not left the country at any time. He assumes she could have figured out a way
to get someone else to take Mateo up to US.
Brisa and Braulio are still dealing with her
ex-roomie/ex-bf. Braulio is holding the
door and preventing the other guy from coming in. Braulio and Brisa continue arguing whether
the other guy can come in.
Back in US… Augie-evil is still trying to get in Alicia’s
room knocking on door. HE laughs it out that she fell asleep… He gets a phone call from Bea… She demands he
come back home ASAP. HE is not
happy. She threats him that she will sue
him so bad that he will end up pennyless if he does not return YESTERDAY.

Elo asks Fi not to tell
anyone about Roxi’s parentage and Fed waltzes in and asks about the
monthly deposits ACorp is making to the mystery account.
Elo notices and fingers her huge seafoam green bracelet and calls
her Imelda as she tells her, ask Pietro I don’t know about business
stuff. They go back and forth for a while over whether Fedrica is in
fact Imelda Marcos or not (in case anybody didn’t
know Imelda Marcos was a politician’s wife who spent scandalous amounts
of govmt $ on clothes and especially shoes, she had like a bajillion
pair)
Pietro goes to Rey and Adela’s place where Roxi trying to get rid of him pretends, badly, to be a sister of Adela. Pietro falls for it till Beni blows her cover, calling her by name. Too late to shut Pietro out though, Rox has already let him in and he won’t leave till he talks to her.
Fi has a wonderful idea that Roxi is just gonna
hate; let Rox come back to the ranch, but she has tolive w/Quina
in the employee quarters. Elo goes for it and wants to take it a step
farther and put Roxi to work, Ha!

Happy New Years Patio! I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday season and is having a good new year thus far. My brief but awesome vacation in Columbia has caused me to miss 2 weeks worth of episodes but thanks to the wonderful recaps (you guys are amazing!) from the rest of the team I am all caught up. Lets jump right in and see what mischief the gang has construed while I've been away.
We begin with Sandra forcefully opening Bea eyes to her husband's philandering ways and linking Alicia in that picture. At first, Bea thinks Sandra is a little crazy for preposterous proposition but Sandra fueled with anger, jealousy and hypocrisy will not leave without destroying everyone's happiness. She begins to spin a lovely but gossipy tale of the Alicia, the "Trepadora", a woman who stops at nothing to climb to the position she seeks. Alicia started with her son Alex and has now moved her sights to Bea's hubby. How do you think she returned to Iconika after the wedding fiasco? Furthermore guess who is heading up the Iconika USA branch and who do you believe is there with her at this very moment?? Bea seems to believe the dirt Sandra is dishing and is devastated. She cannot believe that Alicia will do such a thing after she opened up the doors of her home to her (she seems to leave out the part where she was constantly judging her and her family but lets not get caught up in details. Bea wonders why Sandra is telling her all of this...what does she have to gain? Sandra feel that it is her duty as a woman to convey what is going on. She felt it was Bea's right to know (being half owner and all) even though it was a hard decision for her whether or not to spill the beans. Sandra relays that she will be on a short vacation since she has been fired. She asks for Bea's discretion to not reveal who give the dirt on Don Augusto's side chicks. With her mission accomplished of infecting her poison, Sandra departs leaving Bea to cry over a picture of her and Don Augusto looking not so happy. I wondered during this whole encounter when Sandra will out her 10 YEAR relationship with Don Augusto and her willingness to run away to the US with him herself but who cares about details these days.

Who would have imagined that one dead Ratt would stir up so much trouble? Tonight, the gaming and blaming continue...

Gisela, determined to turn a profit on her blood connection to Franco, lurks outside the Gómez-Luna mansion. She accosts her grandson – whose face, the Patio is delighted to observe, still looks like raw hamburger kept a day too long in the fridge – and tells him THE TRUTH: his parents are not dead. His mother is a woman named Caridad Herrera, she says. And reaching into her waistband (ewww!), she hands him a photo of her daughter – and Franco's mother. Franco studies it for a moment. Does he feel the llamado de la sangre? Or of the cheekbones? Hard to say. But he says he'll need proof if he is to believe Gisela's contention. She will provide that proof – for a price. Franco scowls, but he pays up. Then he leaves her. As he limps up the stairs to the house, he takes a call from Eladio on his cellphone.

Blog mom is considering deleting Caray, Caray entirely. Thoughts welcome.
Hello, friends, trolls, spammers, complainers, etc.,
Behind the scenes there has a been a lot of trouble over the past year or two. Against my instincts I let this project get too big. We used to just blog the three shows on Univision prime time. Now our net is cast across all of Telenovela Land.
We have had almost 18,000,000 visits to our site. Perhaps this is what has made us a target of ugly behavior. We have lost a lot of recappers due to nasty commenters. We have had to delete 1,000s of spam comments from witch doctors and spell casters and plumbing supply houses. We have had to scour the comments for spoilers and malicious mayhem.
Over the last year or more Diva del desierto (5 foot Latina) and her computer whiz husband have made a number of very complicated improvements under the hood. These improvements have answered some of your multiple complaints but the Diva has had it. She wants to throw in the towel. I cannot take on the work she's been doing.
So that's why I'm thinking about folding up the tent (to switch metaphors). People who complain and attack each other and post spoilers etc. have finally worn us down.
Most things online are eventually ruined by spam and porno. One could say about the whole internet: "This is why I can't have nice things."
Have you noticed that everybody who works on this site does it for free?
Another possibility would be to cut back to just three shows and dump the rest of this. I think I could keep my eye on three shows.

Eladio walks into his home office to find Efrain, the chauffer, waiting for him. He tells Eladio that Julia ordered him take her to La Condessa.
Then we see the aftermath as Aldo cries at the sight of TheRat's lifeless body on top of the smashed car. The authorities have to keep him back. He gives them TheRat's personal information, and adds that he is sure that TheRat was killed.

Yo No Creo en los Hombres #120, 1/6/2016: Would They Really Kill BOTH Our Protagonists?
The Old: Ursula
talks to the kidnappers and tells them Max has to be in his five senses before
he speaks to MD. They wake him with a tequila shower. Leo tells Clara, Doris
and Chelito that Claudio is dealing with trying to track down the kidnappers
and Max. The doctor tells them Esperanza had a heart attack, and had no trace
of any of the medicines she was supposed to be taking to avoid it (too
expensive). Now, any stress could cause the big one. Ursula tells Josefa that
they will soon be rid of Max AND Claud, but Jo thinks death is too easy for
Claud. She wants him alive and suffering for Marta’s death—she wants ALL of
them to suffer. Ursula points out that Claud and Marcelo were responsible for
putting Marta in jail, but La Abuela was responsible for her death. But not to
worry. First they’ll get Abuela to get rid of their MD problem, and then they’ll
get rid of her. Marcelo tells Claud he wants a guarantee that his name will be
cleared of ALL suspicion before he helps him save Max and MD.

The New:
Ursula tries to calm Dan down after the big reveal that MD
and Max are married. She assures him they just did it so that Max can try to
get custody of the baby. Then she tells him how Max threatened to charge Ivana
with abetting (encubrimiento) if she doesn’t testify. But without an accused
(MD) or a defender (Max), then none of that matters. Dan’s ears perk up, and he
demands that Ursula NOT kill MD. Ursula backtracks and says it was just a
manner of speaking. They’ll just make sure MD stays in jail by having Ivana
testify that she was hit and fainted and didn’t really see what happened. They
both eye each other warily, neither trusting the other as far as they could
throw them.

Antes muerta que Lichita #73 Wednesday 1/6/16 " Augusto in Action!"
Here we go: I left out the Brisa and Braulio nonsense when they were not connected to the main plot. Let us just say they are still lovey dovey. Now on to the important stuff. We left off yesterday with Sandra telling Fátima that Augusto is going to stand her up in Europe for some reason she does not know yet and Detective Carmona telling Roberto that as far as he can tell Sheila is in the US. He does not know if Mateo is with her. He can only say what he knows. Roberto asks if he will investigate to see if she has Mateo with him. Carmona says sure like he has nothing better to do than sit at his desk scratching his belly and looking for his son and his son's mother in the US. Carmona gives Roberto a report about where Sheila was last seen in the US. That is all he can do for him at the moment. Roberto tells detective Carmona that he will get the definitive dirt on Augusto on a silver platter so Carmona will continue to help him find Mateo.
Magos returns to the café from her errand and runs into the bill collector from the bank whom Elsa has pressed into service having him wait on tables. After the usual Magos nonsense, he gets Magos to sign a paper stating that she knows that she has a debt to the bank. It looks like she thought she was signing for a package that was being delivered at the same time. She is not a happy camper that now she has acknowledged legally her debt with the bank. She tells him she will not pay anyway. He assures her she will be paying. He leaves the café.

The big questions for tonight:
-Will Papi Chulo reveal his true Papi-hood to Gael?
-Will we find out what Fi's plan is?
-Will Roxi accept her enabling mama?
On the first score, there is too much yelling for Alina's taste and she opts to kick Gael out of her office so she can talk to Papi Chulo alone. "So…you're his dad, huh?" I guess she did see the resemblance. She wants to make sure this is managed properly, since Gael is a recovering addict.

Lichita 1/5
Alicia busts one of the heels on her ridiculous shoes on her way into the Ikonica US office and limps around the place with two employees. They apologize that the place is such a mess, and they're waiting for the new boss to come and arrange everything. She also discovers that those two are currently the only employees. They don't let her get a word in edgewise, even as they go on and on about the executive who will surely arrive soon. They eventually find a magazine that has a picture of Alicia on the cover, and Alicia really enjoys their moment of shock and surprise when they realize that she's the new boss. For, like, half a second, she breaks that glazed and impassive generic-novela-bimbo affect that's shrouded her since they dressed her up, and looks genuinely fun and playful for a bit.

finished. Max may have felt some relief and Esperanza, too, but it

Montenegro was showing his worst hubris at this party. He arrived in
the black boots, clothes, cape, and hat of El Zorro, the Robin Hood
of Mexico. His real persona would never think of helping the poor;
if he robbed from the evil he would keep any spoils in his own
coffers. Nor did he look at women as fair ladies with honor,
integrity, or intelligence. He bought favors from Monserrat Moret
and felt daring in doing so. He lacked the power of observation to
realize that his money – or more likely his father's money – was
of more interest to her than he was.
Also the
power of more physical observation because he failed to notice that
Callao, the trusted henchman of Eladio Gómez Luna, was standing at
the curb just beyond the building's entrance.

Pobrecitas, I wonder if they have to cut themselves out of those undergarments with scissors when they get home. Anyway...

Art and Nina return from the big dinner. Nina thinks it's great that the kids are together. Art and Eladio will be forced to get along now that the kids are together. Art goes into his office to sulk.
Petra encounters Nina in the foyer and scares the hell out of her with her newly made up face. Petra tells Nina that Dani did it. Dani comes down the stairs and listens to the exchange between her mother and the maid. Petra's has returned from dancing. She picked up the garbage man at the bar and he also brought her home. Nina tells Petra to tell the garbage man to move his truck.

Roxi is off to school and seems to be getting a final inspection by Adela and Rey. The two disagree as to whether Roxi's skirt is too short. As per usual, they get into a yelling match. Roxi noisily dismisses them and leaves just as Vitto is arriving. In a funny little crack at Vitto, Roxi tells him to stop looking at her: if Fiorella couldn't even stand him, she certainly can't. She flounces away with her nose in the air, probably holding her breath, too.

Yo No Creo En Los Hombres, #118 The Trial Begins
We’re back at the prison yard, where Max is looking mighty fine in his suit and tie, (when doesn’t he look mighty fine though). And after an uncomfortably long kiss while everyone shuffles their feet waiting for it to end, he introduces them to a judge he brought along and asks MD if she will marry him right there, right now.
She hesitates for only a minute because she’s worried that if she gets a guilty sentence that she will not want Max tied down to being with someone in prison, but he tells her that he will always love her and he wants to have custodial power for Almita. Swoon!!! What a galan. So she says yes and they get hitched.
After the congratulations from Esperanza and Nayeli, Max hands her an envelop that he says she will need for the hearing that they are going to now.

Pasión y Poder Episode #40 Friday, Janurary 1st 2016 The Montenegro family and the Gomez Luna family sit down for dinner.. and that's how they became The Brady Brunch.
Welcome 2016. Happy New Year Everyone!
Back in 2015 (our time) we left off with David about to arrange a meeting with his family and his girlfriend's family. Ah, there's nothing like the in-laws getting together and sitting down for dinner. I can just picture the Montenegro's and the Gomez Luna's sitting down for Thanksgiving dinner. Artie and Eladio would fight over who gets to carve the turkey. Julia and Nina would bicker about petty little things like who has the better dress and whose husband has more money in his wallet. Daniela would try to seduce her brother-in-law, David. Regina would slap her silly for flirting with her man. Creepy Miguel would make googly eyes at Consuelo. While Franco and Erick would get stinking drunk and be the uncles that always get drunk and make a fool out of themselves at family reunions. Hummy would wheel himself around and whine 24/7 about everything (especially about Daniela, Gaby, and Regina's wardrobe). While poor Petra and Simona would be forced to serve these people. Yep, Thanksgiving is sure to be loads of fun. But I digress.
Anyway, our first new scene of the night, is over at Grupo Montenegro. Regina has just been offered a great job at the family business. She accepts. But wait a minute... she wants to talk it over with David first. No, no, no. She's not the kind of woman that needs to ask her boyfriend for permission to work. It's just that since his dad and her dad are rivals.. then the whole thing could be.. umm... delicate. Besides, Regina really wants there to be communication in her relationship. And not just the kind of communication that happens under the sheets and when in heat like her *cough* parents have *cough*. Artie thinks it's good that Regina and David are a communicative couple. Regina gets a call from bae and is told that his mom, who happens to be Artie's ex, wants to talk to Artie. Regina tells her dad that Julia, his ex, wants to talk to him. Arte is left frozen. It's like he has passed gas and is trying to deny it. His inability to move a single muscle in his whole body makes Regina think that his dad doesn't want to talk to his ex. Artie takes the call. Julia tells Artie that she approves of their children's relationship. They agree to get together later on that night for dinner so Julia can let Regina know that she has nothing against her and that she still has the hots for her dad. Regina and David will choose the place where the meeting will take place. Regina thanks her dad for this gesture. David does the same by thanking his mom. He lets his mom know just how much he loves Regina. In other words.. yada, yada, yada. He tells her how Regina confronted the bad big wolf, a.k.a his dad. He lets her know how Regina used to be so afraid of facing the obstacles that would get in the way of their love and that he had to convince her so that she would face them. Julia tells David that she would love to be fearless like Regina. David tells her that everyone has fears and that what matters is that you overcome them. He leaves to let the chauffeur know to have the car ready. Now alone, Julia and Gaby realize that they are stepping in big doo-doo and that they have gotten Artie to step in it as well.

Fiorella is with an increasingly frantic Pedro who instinctively wipes his eyes but the darkness doesn't dissipate. Fiorella tries to explain to Pedro what Dr. Elizalde said but he's not listening. He freaks and then shrieks for Fiorella not to leave him. Fiorella bolts out the door to ask Sergio to get Dr. Elizalde. Aitana demands to know what she is doing there. Sergio and Fiorella ignore her as Fiorella gives Sergio the sad news.
Giana and Gael are at the University as Gigi continues to wonder what her sister is trying to hide from her. Gael thinks she should directly ask Fiorella what is going on. Gianna decides it's a better idea to call Fiorella's friend, Nicoleta.
In the study at the Ranch, Assvaldo and Benigno are on death watch, having sent the Hairy Witch to find out if Pedro has kicked the bucket. Benigno thinks death is imminent and congratulations are in order. He hugs the Ass and Eloisa almost busts them talking about Pedro's demise. Assvaldo has to put on his game grief face. He hopes it's not going to be a tragedy. Eloisa maintains it will not! Assvaldo floats his "we have to think about the company" line, you know, if Pedro remains seriously injured, or dies. Eloisa looks him unwaveringly in the eye: Pedro is strong and will recover! Sergio comes in on his phone an beckons for Eloisa to follow him out of the study. After Sergio and Eloisa leave, Assvaldo and Benigno exchange worried glances. "Could he have died?" asks Benigno. Assvaldo says, "I hope so!" Ass notes that Benigno, wearing a black suit, has come dressed for the occasion. They chuckle and leave the study.

The Vidals are exiting a building. Roberto calls for Mateo
and it turns out to be Mateo’s friend Tomas who they had adopted.
Roberto explains to them that Mateo is gone… The Vidals don’t
know anything. Marta explains she
understood she was wrong to keep obsessed with Mateo when Tomas and others were
available. Tomas doesn’t know anything
either other than one day they took him out to the Direction office. He found it strange Mateo would have left
without saying goodbye. Roberto wishes
Tomas well. Ms Venus does as well. Mr
Vidal wishes to Roberto that he will find Mateo soon. Roberto thanks him.
Lichita at office… Fatima explains that she started from the
bottom at the office… Brisa is nagging about men earning more than women. Nestor says ‘we men earn more because we
spend more! Ubiquense! ‘ The women rant
at him.
Lichita rants at Augustus… he seems to find it amusing
rather than irritating. But he justifies
about the men earning more than women… says women eventually marry and get
supported by a man… He assures her she
will eventually follow that pattern. Alicia is not buying what he is
selling. Alicia says ‘you won’t tell me
now that it is the first time a female employee complaints.’ Augustus says not even Sandra has …
Roberto is preaching to the choir, arguing with Ms Venus
about where Mateo could be… Venus says
if you want to find out who adopted your son, we will try to find out.
Valeria talks to Bea… Valeria seems to be the only one
genuinely upset about Rafael’s passing.
Bea says what about Luciana… Valeria is indeed worried that Luciana did
not shed a single tear yet for her dad’s passing. Bea assures her they will together care for
Luciana… Said Luciana is heading to the office as any other day…
At a meeting at the office, Alicia and Sandra are arguing
about the female salaries to Augustus… seems Alicia got all the women to meet
with Augustus to present their case. Even Fatima speaks for Alicia’s
argument. Shushette makes a comment that
could be interpreted a different way given her reputation (los hombres me
doblan… = men make me bend over).
Augustus says he will see what he can do… the women celebrate… (I would say that promise to ‘see what he can
do’ is as good as words in the wind…)
Valeria and Bea talk to Luciana… Luciana argues she is just
not as dramatic/expressive as them. Luciana
leaves, Bea tells Valeria that Luciana looks like Augustus, very insensitive to
emotional things.

Yo No Creo En Los Hombres #117, Wednesday 12/30/15: Babies and Betrayals
Happy New Year, Patio Peeps!
The Old: Marcia tells Monterubio that he has to help her fend off the Santibañez, Max, MD, and Claudio. If she falls, they BOTH fall. Claudio tells Orlando that he thinks Josefa was behind Isela’s fall and he’s launched an investigation. Dan tells Ursula and Ivana that he’s NOT giving up his baby, not for all the money in the world.
The New:
Dan says that his daughter is all he has and he’s not giving her up. Ursula and Ivana are livid. Ursula reveals she already knew what he has been saying in rehab about having both his daughter and MD, and that he was going to betray her. She’s caught off guard when Dan reveals what HE’s learned from Arango. Ursula and Arango faked a will with a false signature after Hector died, leaving everything to Ursula’s administration. In reality, Hector’s real will left everything to Dan and Maleny (and nada for Ursula). Now that Maleny’s dead, all the money goes to Dan and Almita. Ha! As of now, Dan’s in charge, and he’s changing the admin on all the accounts from Ursula to himself. Ursula tries to guilt trip Arango for betraying her (again), but he already heard from Dan that she was planning on kicking him to the curb soon. He just got the jump on betraying her first. Now, Arango works for Dan.

Muchacha Italiana Viene A Casarse #89 Wed 12/30/15 (Mex 123) Don't Cry for Me, Fiorella…no, really, please don't
The dog and the dog guy go running off. So at least someone made it out of this unscathed. There's no sign of the horse as Fiorella is begging Pedro to please wake up. Sonia runs up and then calls the house begging them to call an ambulance.
For some reason, after the initial panic has passed, Os and Fed are back to the usual languid sniping, which Sergio finds highly offensive. Dante announces the arrival of the ambulance and Sergio goes running, shouting for Os to come with him. Juli runs upstairs to inform Eloisa and Fed just sits on the couch probably pondering Os' potential involvement. As she said--he's the one who stands to benefit if something happens to Pedro.

Before anything else, I want to wish you all a healthy and happy 2016!
Is it too early to start thinking about an anvil for Augusto????? I think not.
Whoopsie! I mistakenly called Rafael Gabriel for much of the recap: he still is Valeria's husband and Luciana's "dad" who was aggravated to and left for dead by Augusto. : )
Now back to the story . . .
The lights are still out. Augusto comes looking for Alicia and just as he sneaks up on her in the dark, the lights go on and it is presentation time. Everyone is happy happy with the OkiOki presentation . Alicia tells us her transformation from Lichita to Alicia is complete but as of today it is the beginning of the end of a love that could never be or will be. Luciana is clearly not enjoying the presentation.
Back at the mansion they all arrive home from the OkiOki presentation. As Beatriz, Augusto, Dafne, Roberto amd Luciana all come in, Valeria wonders why Gabriel did not come. Valeria called him during the evening and he never answered. Luciana tells her to cut the drama. Valeria calls Gabriel then and there and they hear the phone ring. She says it must be in their room where Gabriel must be sleeping like a log. Augusto gets an uncomfortable look on his face. Suddenly they all decide to retire for the night. Dafne decides to eat supper by herself. Valeria arrives in Augusto's and Beatriz's room crazed with worry over the missing Gabriel. He was not in their room.Augusto says no big deal he probably went out on the town and forgot his phone. Dafne arrives to see if they found Rafael and if they looked for him everywhere in the house. Dafne takes it upon herself to look around the mansion and finds Gabriel dead on the floor where Augusto left him. She becomes hysterical amd starts to scream. They all come in. Valeria tries to talk to Rafael. Luciana is in shock and says he must be asleep, right?

Yo No Creo En Los Hombres #116 Tuesday 12/29/15: Patrnity Bites, Maternity Without Rights, and Baby's In The Middle
• We go to Alma’s funeral. She left a letter to her family of last thoughts. Max is to take care of headstrong Leo. Leo is to stick with Clara who really cares for him. Claudio is left without Alma’s pardon, and a request to right the wrongs he’s done.
• The paternity results are in and Daniel’s DNA is the darned baby-daddy. He rubs Max’s nose in it as much as possible. (What else would we expect?) Despite Max’s best arguments that DannyBoy is a drug addict and the family is suicide prone, the judge gives temporary custody to Grrrrsula and Family.
• Corina introduces herself to Nayelli’s kids and tries to take them with her, but Aldo stops her. She lies about knowing Nayelli and why she was with the kids.

Chapter 38: Family Affairs
The more
I observe these two families and their interactions the more I wish I
could meet Suetonius. Maybe I can't because I'm his latter-day reincarnation: I feel like I'm in a 21st-Century Roman Empire. Two
titans of modern industry with sons betraying them, both with dysfunctional
families and assorted wannabes who want only power and the
inheritances they think they deserve. Nobody's been murdered yet
that I know of, but only because that's a lot harder to get away with
these days. Sejanus didn't have to worry about DNA or fingerprints.
But everything that makes crime more difficult now makes character
assassination much easier, including the willingness of people to
always believe the worst and prove it if they have to. That's
sometimes useful and some people get better at this all the time.

didn't react he instinctively ran and called for the doctor. When
the doctor felt Alma's pulse he looked back at the nurse, who nodded.
They looked at Leo, who realized what this meant. He cried out
“Mama! Mama!” many times. He stayed at her bedside, embraced
her, and cried.

Muchacha Italiana Viene A Casarse #88 Tue 12/29/15 (Mex 122) Well, she always wanted a daughter.
Gianna interrupts Pedro and Fiorella's kissyface session in the employee kitchen, pretending she didn't hear a word of their conversation. She's just telling them about Roxi being thrown out when Joaquina comes in. Pedro goes running to talk to Eloisa. Joaquina wonders if she might have gone to a friend's house, but Gi can't resist snarking that Roxi doesn't have any friends (which is mostly true!) and both Joaquina and Fi are shocked. Fi tells Gi it's not like her to say stuff like that. "Yeah, well. Keeping secrets is worse," says Gi, and storms off.

Due to technical problems, you are getting my notes/observations for the recap otherwise known as the long and the short of it . . .
Don Augusto has just told Alicia to fire Brisas and he brings up the "one rotten apple" comparison. For him it is just part of the job to make heads roll when employees fall short and not overthink it. Alicia refuses to just fire Brisas without finding out exactly what happened since Brisas has always been such a good worker. Augusto reminds her about the two lost accounts. Sandra sticks up for her.
Roberto is still talking to Venus and getting overly dramatic about Mateo maybe being taken from the country even maybe, etc. Venus tells him to cut it: His son is being very well cared for: the orphanage would never put his son in a bad situation. Fear and pain are bad advisors. She tells him to find the best way to find out what happened to his son but to do it within legal means and not to tell more lies since that is what got him in the mess he finds himself now. Roberto says his situation is just not that easy. (Wah!) Venus tells him the same thing Gumaro has told him: the day he starts telling the truth things will begin to change for him.
In Alicia's office she is telling Braulio and Brisas how it is: they are not beginners and she expects more RESPONSIBILITY (as the professionals they are) shown by them. Brisas offers to quit since she was the one who messed up. Alicia says nobody is quitting. She will talk to the "Mis favoritos" snack people about a "redesign" they will be doing to try to get the account back.
Elías thinks he is shocking Sandra by telling her Icónika USA is already set up. Sorry, she says, no surprise there. She does not look happy when he leaves, though. Hmmmm . . .

Yo No Creo En Los Hombres, #115 Monday 12/28/15 A Death in the Family
This is a super sad episode and the recap is very long because of all the detail.
A little refresher from way back last Wednesday, Orlando and Claudio are in the ICU with Isela who is on life support, arguing about who will take care of the baby. Orlando claims that Isela’s last wish was to have Orlando take care of her, but Claudio wants to step up and claim the baby as his own, even giving her his last name. Poor Doris, hanging back by the doorway, hears this exchange and is heartbroken at learning Orlando’s intentions and feelings. Just then, Isela takes a huge breath and her eyes jolt open. Orlando reacts, and runs to get the doctor while Claudio stands there stunned. (I know who I want around me in an emergency, and it’s not the Clod).
Orlando finds a doctor, sees Doris, hugs her saying that Isela is awake, and goes back in.
Back at the poor person's hospital, The Padre comes out with the nurse after baptizing the baby, the nurse tells Esperanza and Max that she will send them the video of it. Why couldn’t they be there in person?
Just then, Max gets a call that Alma is brought to the rich person's hospital. He runs off to see about her.

In this episode, Eladio has harassed or has pissed off most of the people in the telenovela. So, I thought this was an appropriate song for your listening pleasure.

Eladio releases the canaries, but captures Julia by her reed, thin neck. He's pissed that she left the hospital without alerting him. He tells Julia, that she's useless and uneducated. He's knows that she's seen Art. After Eladio leaves, Julia tells herself that she will stop being useless and will learn to take care of herself. She will then leave him.
Eladio keeps the party hoppin' and moves it into the house by terrorizing Gaby as Franco, her spineless boyfriend, looks on and does absolutely nada! Finally, we learn lots of prepositions, but not the good sex ones that we can use, Susanlynn. Gabby is visciously tossed on top of the table, bounced off of the wall, down on the couch and choked between the door way. Once Eladio is gone, Gaby asks Franco why he didn't take her side. He said that she was in the wrong, she should have called Eladio.

Pedro goes to meet Fiorella at the summit of a hill in the garden. She excitedly shares the pictures we saw her looking at earlier in her bedroom. The little girl, about eight or so, is her; a couple of pictures of her Mother and a picture of her Mother and Father in their youth. She is excited and touched, she feels close to them just looking at the pictures. Once all this exposing and prosecuting of Benigno is over and everybody knows of their love, Pedro wants Fiorella to show him all the places where she grew up. Lots of smiles and kisses.
Sergio pleads with Eloisa not to be so hard on Roxi. Assvaldo and Sonia think Eloisa is right. Eloisa asks for her medicine. Freddie goes to the dining room where Dante is dripping the drops into a glass of water. He gets a phone call and has to leave, asking Freddie to take her the drops. Freddie, of course, puts demon drops of doom into the glass and takes it to Eloisa.
Assvaldo is on the phone talking to Benigno about the horse Pedro is getting and how this will fit into their plan to murder him.
Freddie takes the glass to Eloisa and is about to drink when she interrupts herself to fuss some more about Roxi. Freddie prompts her to go ahead and take her medicine and Eloisa launches into a high-pitched chant about how the glass contains a special tea that Maximo bought for her and doesn't Freddie want to try it? There is a little struggle as Freddie says no and Eloisa even tries to make her drink it and the glass spills. Sergio and Julieta look on, horrified.

Gisela doesn't want Consuelo rooming with her and Clara. Three's a crowd, after all, and they only have ONE bathroom to pee in for crying out loud. Clara puts her foot down and reminds the old hag that this is HER home and if she allows her to live there it's because the hag doesn't have anywhere else to live. So Consuelo's stays! And Gisela better be nice to her! Period.
Eladio wants NOTHING from Artie. Hummy (Humberto) goes on and on about why Eladio should enlist in Team Regina and David. He'd make Julia happy! Plus, he'd have access to all of the Montenegro fortune including a part of his properties if Regina and David get hitched. Eladio smells a rat bastard when he sees one and he knows Hummy is only thinking about what is convenient for his crummy old himself. Over at The Patio, we all cross our fingers and hope this is the end of the old man, but before he does any real damage to the old man he walks off. Darn.
Erick returns home and tries to avoid talking to his folks. But Artie asks him to the living room before he counts to five. Artie and Nina (who is now magically siding with Artie) rip him a new one. They both know very well that he's still getting it on with his little Ratt friend. Artie informs him that his wife has left Casa Montenegro. Yippeee! Erick's glad to hear that. He couldn't stand watching Consuelo flirting with that creepy guy with the dorky glasses- Miguel. Artie tells him to cut the crap and to be a man and face his responsibilities. Artie tells Erick to bring Consuelo back to the house or else. Erick lets his dad that he's divorcing Consuelo. And that he could care less about that child!

Well, let's see how Fifi was able to get her delicate little foot out of her mouth after carrying on to Eloisa how beautiful Pedro's Mother's (Pilar) villa is. Well, when she first got there she was so taken with the beauty of El Rancho she told Fidel there couldn't be a more beautiful place on earth. Fidel then showed her pictures and she was all like, "well, shut my mouth! This place IS more beautiful than El Rancho!" Fidel also shared that Eloisa hardly goes there anymore. Eloisa appears to buy it and hears the racket from the wild party as she is about to leave Fiorella's room.
We catch up with Benito in the darkened kitchen of the employee's quarters, sitting on the floor killing a bottle of tequila. Gianna finds him and sits down next to him. Benito thinks he's an idiot, Gianna thinks Roxi really loves him but was overwhelmed with everyone watching. Benni wonders whats eating her. Gianna whines that Gael got high right in her face! Benni concludes they have both made terrible choices in love and offers her his back-wash filled bottle of tequila.

Antes Muerta que Lichita #66 Friday 12/25/15 The honeymoon is shortened... The new competitor coffee shop steals customers... and Alicia, Braulio and Brisa have a very very bad day.
New admin lady at the orphanage tells Roberto from behind door that Mateo was taken from the home. Mateo was already adopted by a couple. Roberto is in disbelief. Wants to confirm it with his own eyes. Door opens and you can see the scared face of Roberto walking in… he runs to Mateo’s bed to see it empty and made up.
Ximena asks Nacho if the clients will come back… Nacho tries to comfort her lying that the people at the coffee shop across the street are just letting the clients try their coffee. Elsa is upset, what are we going to do? Magos can only whine (cry over water past the bridge).
Magos gets a call from a guy that we don’t know yet… well, turns out he is the guy from the collections company trying to get her to pay the credit card.
Roberto finds some stair steps to sit and cry…
Lichita and Sandra are still at their conversation. Sandra has another heat flash of her meno… Lichita offers to drive Sandra home… Sandra is a bit rough questioning if she means to come in the public bus (pesero) or taxi… Lichita says no, in the company car she has.
Elsa can’t stand the curiosity, wants to taste/try the coffee from across the street to see if it is truly better than hers.
The admin lady assures Roberto that Mateo’s adoption was legal… He doubts it, he says they can’t take his parental rights… The lady assures him it is a done deal. Roberto says we’ll see about that.
At the car, Roberto tells Luciana that they took his son away. Luciana still is not taking him very seriously, asks if he is feverish, then wants him to come to the house to rest… he just walks away and sends her to the house. Luciana comments that she thinks he is delirious.
Luciana is driving Sandra home, is driving pretty pretty slow… gets people to drive around her… she yells at another driver… Sandra is probably sure this is her last ‘ride’ with Lichita.
At the house, Rafa and Val are questioning Bea for running out on her psychologist appointment. Bea would rather talk to her confessor/priest about her worries/woes. Then Luciana comes home and Valeria turns her attention to her asking questions about where Roberto is.
Roberto and Gumaro meet. Apparently Roberto is at the Vidal couple (Marta’s), since Roberto thinks they were the ones that adopted Mateo… Gumaro says if they have him they won’t hurt him. Roberto then wonders if they don’t have him, what if it is other people?
Luciana tells parents she got bored with beach… (really??) She says her husband is workaholic… and he had to come back directly to the API… Valeria leaves toward kitchen, Rafa asks Luciana for the truth, why did they come back earlier. Luciana is not ready to give details, so walks away on him.
Magos is still on phone with the guy from collection company. Ximena has to deal with a potential client but when he sees it is Ximena trying to serve him while Magos is on cell phone, he leaves miffed.
Magos still not willing to pay.
Nacho and Elsa come back… she says coffee is not bad but the prices are still mysterious… Some other potential clients come… since they see Nacho and Elsa have cups from the other business, they go over there. Elsa is lamenting their luck.

The Rat and Aldo are in the hospital. Erick comes to visit her and they tell him that she wanted to die because she found out about Connie's pregnancy.
When David asks Art why he went to visit his mother Art tells David that he happened to be at the hospital when he found out that Julia was there and wanted to see how she was, but promised to never do something like that again. Art accepts David and Regina's relationship and he tells David that he reminds him of Julia. Art also tells David that he would take care of him as his own son if Julia asked him to. Regina comes in and is happy that her father is ok with their relationship.

In the hospital, Josefa tells Clod that Isela threw herself
from the 2nd floor balcony after she found out what a lying liar who
lies he is. In the background, Honoria looks like she wants to sing a rousing
verse of liar liar pants on fire. But Clod isn’t fooled by Josefa. He knows
Isela was more determined than ever to live her life, to move on from him AND
Josefa, and start her life with her baby. He suspects it was Josefa herself who
threw Isela off that balcony, and if he finds out that’s true, he will
personally see that she rots in jail!

What I found out in #64:
Heads up: This is very sketchy from my notes last night because I was baking and not watching very carefully just like I might be tonight! :) What is the sudden tie in with "autism"? Is Icónika" trying to enhance its image with being/looking socially conscious?
As it started in the last couple of episodes, plenty of characters are using "antes muerta que. . ." "I would rather be dead than/better dead than . . . " An homage to the title?
LaLa milk and PayLess were the favored products in placement and embedded commercial.
Best scene: Luciana taking a selfie with her shrimp at the table at the beach resort.
Sandra is still in "menopausal fantasy land" and really believes she is going away to the USA with Augusto. She keeps trying to poison Augusto against Alicia. She is not happy when he tells Alicia she can drop the coffee company as a potential client. (He also tells her she has to replace it with a comparable account ) She tells him to keep his eye on Alicia . She cannot be trusted. Augusto can't see a problem: he controls all the agencies. She reminds him he does not control Madelén.

Picking up right where we left off…Does Rox know of Beni's intentions? Well, no, not exactly, but he knows she feels the same way. "How will you support her? Have you not seen her collection of credit cards? Heck, take her off my hands. You'd be doing me a huge favor. She spends a TON of money every week. Look, you go propose. If she says 'yes,' you have my blessing, and you get her out of here quickly and take her FAR away from here." Beni can't believe his luck and gratefully embraces Eloisa. She smiles and laughs with genuine good humor, even when Beni is so uncouth as to shout gleefully out in the hallway. She's genuinely pleased because she feels like she's putting one over on Beni--he has no idea what he's getting himself into.

• Isela has another bout of guilty conscience. After hearing Claudio’s confession that he screwed around with Marta’s sentencing to please his buddy, the other judge, Sr. Monterubio, hide his sins. First, she visits Orlando in the his old apartment and says if only…..They share an if only hug. (Alarm bells should be going off about now for the Viewerville aficionados.)
• Clod admits his guilt to Max who tells his papi he deserves to rot behind bars for knowingly using his influence to help the rich and powerful. Clod says he hopes he’s opened Max’s eyes a bit so that he can properly defend Maria Dolores.
• Speaking of MD, she’s telling off her guard and Marcia, the Women’s Warden, that she knows how Marcia and Grrrrsula have colluded in trying to take her baby away from her; she’s also threatened the guard with spilling the beans to UNOWHU about the horrible way common prisoners are treated in this prison; and, woe is they if anyone dares raise a hand against her again or puts her back into solitary AND if they don’t get Nayelli out of the punishment cell and fast!!

himself and Regina.

His voice couldn't have been colder.
At the same
moment Daniela tattled on her sister to their mother, handing her
another copy of the same photo, also telling her that she had tipped
off Eladio. Nina, who needed no excuse to ever be displeased with
her older daughter, did not want to believe it. Daniela grinned to
herself. She was a slightly older version of a typical Mean Girl in
a sorority who loved playing nasty tricks on anyone she hated. She
hated no one more than her older sister. However, she had no idea
she had done a swan dive into a sea of sharks.

Muchacha Italiana Viene A Casarse #84 Tue 12/22/15 (Mex 117) "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace."**
After a good 4 minutes of refrito, we get back to the action in progress. Fi stands firm--Vitto is a big lying liar and a creep who pressured her into marrying him for months, but now it is O-V-E-R. Vitto looks like he'd like to keel over now, for realz, and I sure wouldn't mind if he did.
Gael sneaks into Gi's room and she freaks out thinking it's Aitana coming to torture her some more. He's just after a good night kiss. He's feeling a little bolder since he figures everyone's preoccupied with Eloisa, so nobody's going to notice that he's sneaking into his girlfriend's room at night. Gael has something to do tomorrow, so he won't be at school, even though they're "cumpliendo meses" (it's their month-iversary) and Gi was hoping they'd do something special to celebrate.

Antes Muerta Que Lichita #63 Monday 12/21/15
Beto and his brother Gumaro corner Venus at her apartment, demanding to know what's going on at the orphanage (the changing of the employees and blocking out Beto). She is annoyed at the intrusion, but actually seems a bit sympathetic. In all her years as a social worker she's never seen such an extreme response by the authorities. She can't prove anything, but she's sure that something is afoot.
Meanwhile, Mateo is being trotted out to meet a proposed match family. One of the sister literally drags him out with a hand around his neck. It's very creepy. They tell him it's a rare opportunity to find a family and want to know on the spot if he's ready to go with them.
The newly cinderella-ed Alicia (who, with her new hair, makeup, and skimpy dress, looks so much like the rest of the office bimbos that I initially thought she was a new character) meets with a guy who wants to hire Ikonica to help his company (the Agrotec group) with an image problem. They've been sourcing their coffee somewhere bad (he had to whisper it) and using lots of pesticides. "You'll be perfect," he says, because she managed to beat her own image problem from the scandal that was basically just a week ago.

She says she won't do it on ethical grounds. Icónika won't be involved in that sort of whitewashing. He accuses her of hypocrisy... after all Alicia did a great job of salvaging her own ruined reputation.
There's a weird bit with Magos on the phone with the bank, trying to sort out credit card debt. Nacho misinterprets what's she's saying and tries to correct her grammar and manners.
Dafne and Alicia forgive each other and decide to be friends again.
Haha, even though Luciana isn't creative director anymore, she refuses to vacate the creative director's office. Rafael, though, has realized that she must have some dirt or some hidden influence over her uncle Augusto. Why else would he put up with her shit for so long?
Beto is telling Augusto that he wants to move out of his house, that he's a man who "takes the reins of his own destiny," but Augusto thinks he should stay. He reveals to Beto that he's grooming him to be his right-hand man and successor in all things!!! He can no longer count on Alex, so it's all on Beto.
Alicia tells Sandra she doesn't think they should do the ad campaign for the unethical coffee people. Sandra doesn't take this defiance lightly. She drags Alicia straight to Augusto's office to complain. Augusto immediately takes Alicia's side, further enraging Godzilla.

Regina asks Art to tell her the truth about her relationship with Julia; her happiness depends on it. Art wants to know what she means by that. Gina tells him that Nina wants her to get all the juicy details about their relationship from David. Art is incensed! Nina walks in wearing some sort of Nina, plunging, boobie baring, sleeveless sea foam green maxi dress. Her unmovable-hair is adorned with a kind of chain-like contraption. Art tells Gina to leave them alone. Once alone with his wife, Art lights into his wife. How dare she not trust him! How dare she ask Gina to spy for her! Nina says that they are been arguing for a while over the their adults and Art never tells her anything. Art says he can't stand it anymore. He wants the big D. Nina begs him for another chance. She'll do better, she'll change. She cries. She begs! OMGosh! I feel so sorry for her. I don't like her and therefor, I don't want to feel sorry for her! Art is such a jerk! She wants him to go to the hotel room so they can talk. Art tells her to go back to Mexico. They will make the final decision there.
