Lo Imperdonable #62 (Tel #63) Wed 8/12/15 "Party On While You Can, Folks, Because Your Happiness Is About to End!!!"

Quick Note:  Hi everyone, I'm back and happy to report that we made the move across country without a hitch.  First, allow me to give a quick shout out and thank you to the rest of our recap team for pinch hitting for me these past few weeks.  They all did a great job, as usual.  Also, I managed to catch up yesterday on my reading of all recaps and comments and in the process I realized (since I watch the Mexico broadcast) that at some point Univision combined two episodes, so that Univision's episode #62 last night was actually episode #63 of the original Televisa broadcast in Mexico.  I noted this in my title for any of you that read our recaps but watch online copies of Televisa's broadcast.

On with the recap.  Some scenes are combined.

Lo Viejo:  V-Snake feels awful, but it's no surprise.  Daniel warned her of the effect of the medicine he gave her to cause her a medical crisis and gain even more sympathy from her family.  She whispers to him a plan for squeezing all the juice out of this manufactured "crisis".  Vero tells Martin she has to go to Mexico City and can't wait any longer because she is worried about Malena.  Malena runs to the shower to wash away the filth left on her body by her rapist husband Aaron.

Lo Nuevo:

Martin promises Vero that he will speak with her doctor about going to Mexico City, but if the doctor says it's too dangerous for her, then he can't do anything about it.  She tells Martin she needs to go to their room to rest.  After she leaves, Martin tells Alfredo how happy he now is with Vero, but confesses he still has to learn to control his jealousy.  He worries that Emi still loves Vero even if he plans to marry Virginia.  Alfredo reminds him Vero loves him, but he needs to control his jealousy or he will lose her forever.  The doctor shows up.  Martin tells him about Vero's wish to go to Mexico City and the doctor agrees to examine Vero.

Yo No Creo En Los Hombres Capitulo 22 Wed 8/12/15 - Where 's the acid when you need it?

( Some scenes may have been merged out of context out of context. UPDATE :  I am feeling a bit sick so I am just going to point out the important stuff. If I missed out something tell me in comments.)

Josefa the Antique Bullying Bitch with a case is spreading the rumors to the neighbors about the civil wedding being fake . She challenges Julian who is flabbergasted by all of this to tell the truth but Julian who is also assisted by Doris  lie that this is just  a big fat lie. Espy berates Josefa for constantly telling lies about MD but time will show The Heifer her place soon enough ( Does that mean she's getting the white jacket? ).  Josefa promises them all that her claims will be proven soon enough.   Isela now alone with Josefa berates her for lying but Josefa assures that the rumors are true cause she knows exactly what she has heard from Hon.

Espy asks Max how much they owe him but Max assures her that the most important thing is to support MD who is by the way looks half-dead from despair. Max and Leo leave. Clara & Espy later console MD who doesn't say a word.

Doris is leaving but Julian asks Ari to take away Jenny ( The Anonymous Alcoholics Girl)  away. Jenny says that she will stay to prepare some food for Espy.  Ari tries to take Doris with him but she refuses cause staying with him is getting dangerous. She would much rather walk to her house alone  than leave with the douche Ari. ( Way to go girl!!) .  Ari points out that she could tell the truth but she didn't cause she loves him but Doris tells him she kept quiet to not bother MD more.  She leaves proudly and it turns out that Orly and Julian were listening to the whole conversation. Julian threatens to not tell MD anything otherwise Ari will repent it for all of his life. Jenny by bad luck restrains Julian.  Orly gets mad too but Ari reminds him that he knows how the things are much to Isela's shock.

Max comes home and Alma tells him that Maly has been calling nonstop but Max promises to call her in order to not molest us further. He also informs Alma and Claudio of  Dan's latest antics and Ivana's pregnancy.  Claudio says that it was not a betrayal cause he was not with Ivana when he was marrying MD and despite his marriage he could have taken care of Ivana's child.  Leo tells Claudio that Dan lied to MD about his job and virginity.  Max points out that not caring for things is Dan's motto of Life, he cannot even take care of himself. Claudio repeats again that they have meddled enough in the situation but Leo says that he will meddle in it if that is required cause if you love a gal you gotta respect her!

Arango is taking the incredibly disobedient Maly to home. She wants to go have some teenage fun but Arango shall give her a cent no more .  Maly slips that no one cares for her, not even her BF and Lover.  Arango calls Ursula who reprimands Maly for her stupidities.  At the same time Max calls : He is coming to the house.  Arango panics because in her state Maly could spit out of her infidelity.  Later Maly arrives back in the house by force.   Isidro informs them all that Max has arrived. Ursula goes to take care of the situation.  She assures him that she and Maly had nothing to do with it.  Ursula feigns care for MD's situation and confides that   she was only looking out for the health of her grandson.

The fetus is not mine! La Sombra Del Pasado 08/12/15 #126 (Mx 129)

Oh.my.sweet.baby.jesus.

Tonight's show picks up where we left off last night: Candela is ready for war, she wants payback for the abuse she suffered at the hand (that never gets old) of Severiano so she walks into his bedroom as he slumbers and points a gun at his head. Severiano wakes up and asks what she's doing, her reply? "Getting payback for what you did to me last night"- he begs her to put the gun down, she refuses and tells him she's going to kill him like the dog that he is, and then it happens. The gun goes off, missing Severiano's head by mere inches, instead a poor feather pillow meets his/her maker. RIP little pillow, RIP.

Lo Imperdonable #61 Tue 8/11/15 The Episode Eli hated to have to recap

Okay, so I hated this episode, and I'll tell you why: this is going to throw the recap a little bit out of order but I need to get this out. The last five telenovelas that I've watched all had a female in the cast suffer a sexual assault and quite frankly I find it disgusting that in 2015 writers are still so lazy that they would resort to having a someone be sexually abused in order to move the plot along.

In last night's episode Magda fell victim to her awful husband Aaron. He raped her and in the process made me hate this show even more. Because not only has this been heavy on the slut shaming and treating the women like dirt but now they throw a rape in? Really writers? REALLY?! Think about it you guys, five novelas and all five had rapes in them, why? Are there really no better ways to tell a story than to have a woman be brutally abused? Really? Anyhoo, the recap is below and I'm personally counting down the episodes till this one is OVER.

La Sombra del Pasado, Capitulo 125 (Mex 128), 08-11-2015: Old dogs with old tricks should remember payback's a bitch

Don Antonio has Sev where the Devil’s had so many others: on his knees, begging for his life. He wants to kill Sev like the rabid, cowardly dog that he is. He wants to kill him in the shadows where he’s committed so many of his own crimes. With no witnesses, his death will be just another unsolved crime in the trail of “not-enough-evidence” crimes that Sev’s been racking up for years. It’s what he deserves. It’s what the town deserves. Indeed, Don Antonio might be the hero Santa Lucia deserves. Sadly, it’s not to be. Sev has a saving grace and it’s name is Emanuel. By virtue of the fact that Sev fathered Eman, Don Toño won’t kill him and before he leaves, he makes sure Sev knows it. “Don’t forget this: Emanuel doesn’t owe you his life. You owe him yours.” Don Toño’s barely out of the shot before Sev is plotting revenge. “You should have killed me,” he mutters to himself, struggling to regain his composure. “You should have killed me.”

Yo No Creo En Los Hombres #21 Tue 8/11/15: Hotfootin' It Back To Easy Street

It’s Friday and Maria Dolores is in her wedding dress telling Daddy up on high, as she has flashbacks to her happy childhood, that this is the day he and she always thought to share together.

At the hospital downtown, news that Ivana is in the hospital has traveled fast in the cultured and well-heeled circles, that Ivana is doing poorly.  Ursula, with Me-me-me-first Maleny in tow, has come to pay homage in hopes of winning her over again.  Ivana’s unwitting doctor lets the preggers news slip, believing it’s still all in the family and happy news for Daniel, the soon-to-be-doting daddy.

La Sombra del Pasado #124 (Mx 127) - Mon 8/10 - Uncertainty

After Sev slaps Cande, Dominga helps her up.  Sev goes on a really bizarre rant about how Cande never loved him and that's why he sought out Roberta.  He put her on a pedestal, and now he knows she was always thinking of Padre J when she was, uh, "with" Sev.  He's acting heartbroken over it, with tears and everything, but the question is…is he really?  And more importantly, does anybody care or are we all handing him quarters?  Cande taunts Sev with "At least he's a whole man, and I don't mean your missing arm."  I suppose she means his soul.  Sev taunts back with "At least I'm a real man and not one who put on a cassock rather than fighting for the woman he loves.  But of course, he doesn't know what a woman is."  Totally thought he was going to end that with "of course, he never loved you."  Missed a primo opportunity there, Sev.  He continues his tantrum alone in his office, downing a drink and breaking the glass in his hand.

Don Camilo talks to the cops about the afternoon Adelina died.  And BTW, he thinks Sev did it.  Incompetente barely restrains himself from rolling his eyes.

Lo Imperdonable #60 Mon 8/10/15 Yeah, but you should see the mosquito!

What goes up must come down, including Marty's mood.

Over breakfast, Marty and Vero are all lovey-dovey as they chat about their new house (which will have a room for Matilde, natch).  Marty wants her to see the plans he has drafted, so he steps away for a moment to get them.  Meanwhile,  Matilde joins Vero at the table.  The women get to talking about Poor Emi and The Ginny Problem.  "I know she'll never be able to make him happy," Vero says.

Uh oh. Marty has returned and overheard the conversation.

"And who do you think could make him happy?" he asks grimly.

Go figure.  Now that she's really sick, she fakes being well.

TELEMUNDO Y MÁS: BAJO EL MISMO CIELO, EL SEÑOR DE LOS CIELOS 3, AVENIDA BRASIL, etc – week of August 10, 2015

There’s a whole lot of stock shtick going on in Bajo el mismo cielo these days (the Evil Blondes who deny their roots [pun intended], say, or Low Self-Esteem Girl falling for the Probably Not Totally Bad Boy).  But it’s still a remarkable show, I think, for two reasons:

-First, because its story is told from the perspective of the undocumented Mexican immigrant.  I can’t recall another story voiced this way.  Can you?

-And second, because the characters of Carlos, Adela and Luis – the moral core of the story – are beautifully written and acted.

I’m so glad you are watching this one and talking about it here.  I’m looking forward to reading what you have to say this week.

Fans of Avenida Brasil and El Señor de los cielos – let’s hear from you!

Everyone – have a great week!

Yo No Creo En Los Hombres #19 Fri 8/7/15: Wham, Bam, What a Sham

Parte 1~~

Daniel catches his mistake and glibly promises to marry Maria Dolores in a proper church as soon as they might be able to, mourning and the added expense being his two major considerations.  Mama Esperanza and MD are glad to hear it—and in the end both women say sí, sí, sí as Viewerville screams at the screen, “--Oh no, no, no!!!!!”

Gerry is coaxing Ivana out of bed.  (We note the matching purple in Gerry’s choice of shirt and Iva’s nightgown which serves to confound those of us in Viewerville who are currently laying bets as to which team talented Gerald bats for.)  Work has never betrayed her, so alright.  She’ll go back today.

In the barrio, a nurse and her AA sponsor arrive at Honoria’s home to help out with Fermin’s illness.  Honoria is shocked to see two respectable-looking individuals there instead of the two drunks she thought their doctor seemed to be advocating.  Oooops!  Her bad.

Lo Imperdonable #59 Fri 8/7/15 The Makeup, The Breakup, And The Engagement

(scenes out of order and combined)

Alternative Title: Will The Character Who Isn't An Idiot Please Raise Their Hand...

The Makeup

Vero wanted Marty to look her in the eyes and tell her that he truly believes that she never had anything to do with Dem. Marty NEVER does this. Instead, he sweet talks himself out of the situation -- he tells her how love wonderful is because it heals all wounds -- and he also tells her that he's never loved anyone as much as he loves her. Vero for a like a second tells him that there's no point in the two getting back together if he does not trust him. But as expected she falls for the sweet talk and caves in. The two kiss and makeup once again without resolving any of their issues. For now all is well with them until the next time Crazy Marty makes an appearance which is bound to happen sooner or later. (more on this later...)

Meanwhile in her hotel room, Matilde lights a candle to La Virgencita and prays that Vero finds happiness at the side of a good man. The next morning, she wakes up to find that Vero's bed has not been slept in. Where could her precious niña be? Matilde's prayers have been answered (at least for now) because Vero is with Marty in his room. The two have spent the night together and Marty watches her sleep. She wakes up and kisses him. She asks him to promise her that he'll NEVER do anything to make her want to be far away from him. He promises (and over at The Patio we take on bets on how long it'll be before he breaks this promise just like he has broken all the other promises he has made before). He has her promises that she'll always love him and she promises. The two kiss.

Amores con Trampa #94 Aug 7, 2015 And Porfirio's secret is finally out! (yikes!!) and Maria and Florencio save the day for Facu... even if he does not like it

Estefi runs to Facu, is very nervous about them leaving. What if you stay behind? (she even makes him fall and of course she drops right on top of him
Perpetua brings Porfirio some eggs…he is glad she came, he wants to talk to her about something important. Something you and I lived before… about MY WIFE and YOUR HUSBAND many many years ago!  (whoa!! Stop the presses!! Did he say what he just said??)  Perpetua does not want to talk about the past… he says no use trying to cover the past… it will come to the surface any moment now… he wants the family to know the truth, the whole truth… She is so against it she just walks away on him.  He tells himself that he does not know what will happen with the family but that secret will come out sooner or later.
Facu gets Estefi off him. She feels bad, she feels like they are her family.  She would even go with him (I mean, with ALL of you! … to the end of the world)…  you all are my family!
Beto talks  with Maria and Jacinto.   Maria says maybe we don’t have to leave. I have an idea, but I need you (Beto) to help me with it!
Facu looks for Maria all over the house, but he can’t find them. Perpetua tells him Maria and Beto left a while ago. They only said that they had to do some errands related to the store… Facu had thought she would go with him to the signing of the documents about the company.  Perpetua asks him if he is sure he wants to just turn the company over to that crappy guy Velasco.  Facu says it’s a done deal.  Porfirio asks where his Concha is… She went to the market, and he says too bad I did not know, would have gone with her to eat a campechada…   Facu and Perpetua joke and laugh about Porfirio ALWAYS thinking of food.
On his way out Facu meets the Italian lady who turns out to be Isa’s mom.  She flirts with him a bit too. She casually demands him to give her some of his time and attention. She even invites him to go to dinner at some restaurant she knows… later.   She will wait for him with open arms… eh… open stomach.    Facu says better wait for me while sitting down… (LOL!)
Santee and Isa are already at the company.  They are basically thinking it’s a done deal.  Isa greets the receptionist.  Felipe comes and is surprised Isa is there.  Isa came to accompany Santee to celebrate the beginning of their new life.  Facu arrives.  Feli says we are ready, Esteban is finishing up the papers. Esteban comes out saying it is all ready.  They all go into Facu’s office… Santee and Isa trail them a bit to do a celebratory march into the office… they basically wrestle each other to go in the office door first.
Esteban gives the papers to Facu.  Facu signs reluctantly after Esteban gives him one last warning to read what he is signing so there are no misunderstandings later.  In run Beto and Maria… Don’t sign!!!! (reminds me of a scene in The Goonies movie). Maria asks if he signed. Yup.  Maria grabs the papers and rips them to pieces. She announces to Isa that she won’t let them make a fool of him again.   Santee gets angry, they have no money to finish the product/work… Beto announces they have a new investor who will put as much money as they need.  Santee is in disbelief… WHO??  (Florencio makes his entrance) YO!!!

La Sombra del Pasado #123 (Mex 126) 8-7-15 Valeria the Skankster Strikes Out and Sev's Anvils Line Up!

We begin with the end of the conversation at Cande’s bedside where Cris asks her upfront if she was an accomplice to the lie that Sev told about how he lost his arm.  He asks if she knew that Sev did not loose his arm in an accident with a plow or some such but rather that Raimundo Alcocer hacked him with a machete.  Cande says she didn’t know.  She always suspected his story but she didn’t want to know the details or become involved in such a disturbing event.  Cris takes Cande’s hand.  He shares his fear that he is losing the respect he had for her and Sev forever, he feels so deceived and betrayed.  Cande says she would do anything in her power to change how he feels but she cannot defend Sev because she doesn’t know what his real thoughts and motives are.  Cande swears she loves Cris with all her heart and it hurts her deeply this abyss that has grown between him.  Cris drops her hand and leaves her side, he is unmoved and unconvinced and leaves her room with his single tear still in place.  Ah, Candela, for once you tell the truth [she DIDN”T know how Sev was really severed] and your beloved Cris doesn’t believe you.

PadreJ and Aldonza talk at ES.  PJ is concerned that Eman is not there.  Aldonza thinks he’s exaggerating:  Eman can’t be with her 24/7 as if he’s her body guard!  Padre relents but insist Eman have more of a presence with her.  He tells her of his plan to do a mass for Adelina, Raimundo and Roberta and convinces her to not leave Roberta’s remains alone in the church:  if her own daughter can’t forgive her, how does she expect anyone else to?  She agrees.  Their remains will be together and he will do the mass before he leaves Santa Lucia.  She would like the mass to be private and absolutely agrees that Eman will be there.  Aldonza asks if the results from Adelina’s autopsy are back.  PJ is sure they are but he doesn’t know the details but will follow up for sure.

Yo No Creo En Los Hombres Capitulo 18 Thurs 08/06/2015: Why are the slimy ones so good at their job?

I'm desperately sorry this is so late! Next week I'll be far more timely, I promise! I apologize for the typos and editing too; I'm running on very little sleep and I want people to be able to discuss the eppy.

After Max stupidly admits that he said he wanted to “play” with her, MD doesn’t give him a chance to explain himself and kicks both him and Daniel out. “I’m not some rich boy’s toy!” Max and Leo leave right away, but Daniel lingers to say that Max is on Ivana’s side because they’re friends and he won’t be able to give Maleny all she wants by himself. MD remains firm in telling him to get out, but she still loves him in her head.

Weekend Discussion: First Annual Televisa Perversity Pageant (Men's Division)

We're getting into some seriously poisonous stuff with our latest round of Televisa villains. Lately it seems that the growing influence of male writers is resulting in more perverse male villains than we used to know 10 years ago. Therefore we are now in the finals of our first-annual Perversity Pageant (Men's Division).  Who should get the Crown of Fire?

Lo Imperdonable #58 Thu 8/6/15 She's alive! She's alive! But she's not too bright, is she?

In Mexico City

Old lovers - hard not to shake with disgust
Malena and Botel find a creepy doll in the coffin. Does that mean that her daughter is alive ? Estas viva, Veronica ?
Back at the hotel, everyone congratulates Malena for how well she’s taking the news. Botel is the one who looks rather shaken up, so Malena herself suggests he should go for a walk, relax. Botel and the PI leave, after deciding that they would resume the search and this time they will force the truth out of Clemente and will involve the authorities, too.
Left alone, Malena, who is everything but calm, wonders if Aaron knows where little Veronica might be. Just then, he calls her, asking her to join him. She refuses, demands a proof that their daughter is alive.

La Sombra del Pasado #122 (Mx 125) Thursday 8/6 Check Out The Junk In Her Trunk*

*This title inspired by doris

My cat is sick. He's been to the vet and he's not acting any better. I am in spaz mode right now and I really didn't pay close attention to the episode. Here's what I remember (in no particular order.) I will come back in the morning with a real recap.

Aldonza does not shoot Sev. I guess I should be glad about that since protagonistas don't murder, but I wouldn't have held it against her. She was in a church though...so yeah...bad.

Hum is one hell of a general practitioner. He's performed surgery (amputation, vascular surgery) and now he's participating in Adelina's autopsy. I am pleasantly surprised that they are able to determine that Adelina's death was a homicide. There were no traces of pills in her stomach. It must have been injected. I seem to recall it was ácido bariburico. It's like Ley y Orden exploded all over SL.

( Some scenes may merged out of context. Also there are some issues with quotes since I have recently upgraded to Windows 10. I really like it but it messed up my keyboard preferences a bit.)

Recap:

MD is at Dan¨s house looking for him but Isidro The Handmaiden tells her that Dan cannot be found, she should ask Uncle Google . Ursula comes instead and MD was about to leave but Ursula tells her to stay. Isidro leaves and MD now alone with Snobby Mom returns Ursie  the money that Dan borrowed for the sewing bar.  Ursie accuses her of chasing Dan like a dog but MD says that Dan was the one who defrauded her trust.  She is giving Ursie  the money because she´s happy that she got liberated from her creepy ass scum of a boyfriend.

Isela surprises her molested best friend Orlando and uses her new work as an excuse to ignore him. She also has to pay the bills to the house since MD is without a job ya know. But Orlando is not pleased because Josefa will never agree with their cough cough "friendship".  The shop assistant comes and Orlando tells him that he came to buy a sewing machine but Isela also wishes to see the beds for their new house. Ugh yeah right.

Lo Imperdonable #57 Wed 8/5/15 Filler, Filler, Filler, And What's In The Casket?

Filling in for LatinaInMD

Magdalena lies to Botel and tells him that she had a drink because she was very nervous. He tells her mixing booze and medication is a big no no. She promises it won't happen again. He wants her to be OK and to work on her fear of the outdoors. She promises that little by little she'll be able to handle it. She hugs him tight and wishes she could always be in his arms. He notes that she talks as if she's about to disappear from his life which won't ever happen.

Pierre and Pablo chat. Pablo is all smiles -- he's never been soooo happy and thinks that Mina Escondida is a paradise. Pierre thinks the same. Daniel and Matilde show up. Daniel introduces Matilde to Pablo. More chit chat that was pointless. Matilde doesn't like that her niña's hubby yelled at her. But Pablo tells her that Marty is a good man and was probably just desperate because of the situation with Vero (Side note: Yeah because that excuses him behaving like a big fat jerk...NOT). Vero wheels in (thanks Eli!) and tells Pierre that Marty wants to speak to him. Pierre goes to see him (and makes a face of either fear or "I'm not in the mood for his crap!").

Marty apologizes to Pierre for his jealous snit from before and accepts that Pierre is not to blame for his problems with Vero. Pierre hopes his apology is sincere and that he's not apologizing because Vero asked him too. How does Marty respond to this? By basically telling Pierre that yeah he IS only apologizing to him because Vero asked him too. Jerk. He goes on to tell Pierre that he doesn't like him being near Vero. He does accept though that he can't boss Vero around but lets Pierre know that he'll be close to Vero. So he wants the room close to hers like he had asked. Pierre will give him the room. Pierre assures Marty that he's a gentlemen and would never ever get in between a marriage BUT in the end the women are the ones who choose. (Side Note: Is Pierre basically saying that he'd go after Vero if she was free? So much for his LOVE for Claudia.)

La Sombra del Pasado #121 (Mx 124) - Wed 8/5 - Everybody cries

Em is having coffee with Vero and Don Ant.  They won't let him take off in the middle of the night alone--they're going with him, just as soon as they're all packed.

Cris asks Don Camilo to call Padre J as Aldonza is still crying and rocking Adelina's body.

Lola visits Padre J to see how Em's doing, but he's left already.  Lola throws a tantrum.  I agree Em is sad and shouldn't be alone, but he'll be with Don Ant and Vero.  Padre J doesn't seem to know that, but he thinks a little solitude would do Em some good.  The phone call from Don Camilo interrupts them.  Cara de impactado de Padre J!  And a "!no puede ser!" into the bargain.  He tells Lola that Adelina is dead.

  • Bad Marty makes Vero cry by telling her he is tired of having to beg for forgiveness, he gives up and won't bother her any more (wanna bet that's not true?)
  • In Mexico Aaron continues his emotional torture of Maggie, he tells her he lied about their daughter being dead in order to make her suffer for dumping his sorry butt and running away with Botel. *I HATE AARON!*
  • Bad Marty brings Matilde to look after Veronica and then gets angry when Vero accuses him of doing it only to make himself feel less guilty.
  • Along with Matilde a neurologist comes along and examines Vero, he is surprised to hear that Dr.Feelgood has been keeping her sedated but proclaims the young Doc did a good job.
  • In Mexico Claudia visists Ginny and tells her she's there to see Emi, over coffee she shares that Marty fired her, Ginny blames this on Vero always getting what she wants from men, and tells Claudia that she and Emi are novios.

La Sombra del Pasado #120 (Mx 123) - Tue 8/4 - Red dress blues

And a little bit of recapper blues!  I think your team is running ragged, but we are nothing if not dedicated.  Here's a quick and dirty rundown of last night, condensed for space…

Pru is frantically searching for the cell phone, which Juana obligingly hands over.  Thanks, Juana

Silvia is still recovering, and very well, and she's allowed to go home.  Renato gets an eye- and ear-full of her giddily hugging Tomas, kissing him, and telling him that YES, she wants him to stay with her night and day, forever and ever.  She also makes him promise not to go after Pru.

Do what you gotta do, bro La Sombra Del Pasado 119 (Mx 122) 08/03/2015

Hello my peeps, here is your recap!

When trying to bribe someone goes wrong:

Severiano is acting like a creeper and hiding in the shadows waiting for the , eh, what is he? Detective, ministerio publico, police officer? Sev tells the officer that he wants to know what he needs to do in order to get his gun back, the officer says it's simple: All he has to do is wait for Adriano's trail to be over. Sev says  he would be willing to give the good officer a very good compensation for his help. The officer wants to know how much Sev is willing to pay and Sev says that that's up to him (the officer).

Officer: "Well, I can tell you're terrified that we will match the bullets found in Raymundo's body to your gun"
Sev:" No, that's not the case at all, that's just one more story made up by that crazy woman. I don't even think the bullets came from the body, who knows where she got them from, so what do you say, will you help me get back the gun?"
Officer: I'm sorry but your offer doesn't interest me Mr. Mendoza, in fact  I don't have the gun any more, I recommend you try to bribe the judge, maybe you'll have better luck with him. Good night

Sev is left with his mouth hanging open, it was AWESOME.

Lo Imperdonable #55 Mon 8/3/15 You won't have Crazy Marty to kick around anymore!

Crazy Marty has left the building.
In his stead, he has left Good Marty, the loving husband who checks his ego at the door and takes care of Vero's needs while expecting nothing in return.  Well, almost nothing.

Good Marty promises Vero that he will take her to her family in Mexico as soon as she is well enough to travel.  Vero listens silently.  That's not enough for Marty.  He wants to hear her say he has made her happy.  She's glad, she says finally, looking absolutely miserable.  She doesn't want to be a continuing burden to everyone – to Ana Perla, to Blanquita, and most of all, to him.

She asks him to leave her alone so she can go to sleep.  But as soon as he is gone, she starts to cry.  Has he finally taken her at her word?  Has she driven him away? Even though getting free of Crazy Marty made perfect sense, she's not sure that divorcing Good Marty will make her happy.

Yo No Creo en los Hombres #15 Lunes 8/3/15

Chapter 15: Another Game of Telephone

Maria Dolores arrived at Max's office and told him off for thinking she was pursuing Daniel for his money. She told him that Daniel had misrepresented himself as a chauffeur while all the time he was the spoiled son of the employing family. But that now his family was broke. Max wasn't quite ready to believe that although he didn't accuse Maria Dolores of lying. He knew Daniel was a player of some kind. He then said he would talk to Maleny about this since she was Daniel's sister. Maria Dolores' cell rang and she answered. It was Esperanza, who told her about what happened to her shop. She told her she would be right there. When she ended the call she almost broke down. Max held her for a moment and asked if she wanted him to take her to the police station to report it. She said “Thanks but no thanks” and headed out the door.

Amores con trampa #90 and #91 Monday 8/3/15 & Tuesday 8/4/15

Right to the new!

I did combine some scenes.

Francis jumps into Diego’s car without an invitation...and refuses to leave. It seems she took a picture of an extra special page in Carmen’s diary. It describes Carmen’s perfect date. Francis thinks this is how Diego can win Carmen’s affections. ¡Ay de mí! I don’t trust her! Don’t listen Diego. But what if it’s legit info? You could still win Carmen’s affections! But is that fair to Feli? Please stop messing with my head, show! Diego does wonder if it’s really a page from Carmen’s diary. Francis thinks he should be able to recognize his beloved’s handwriting. She leaves the page with him and encourages him to read it and take advantage.

La Vecina-Highlights and Discussion #30-34 August 3-7

Some Housekeeping Notes
This is my last week of vacation before I go back to work full time August 10. From now on I will be scheduling a post for every Monday at 2PM EST.

I will have recaps this week, but I can't make any guarantees about the future until Amores con trampa ends. I'm not above shameless begging. Have you ever thought about recapping? This might be the perfect place to give it a try. It's a smaller "venue" and even if it's just highlights and jokes about Simon's rocket, you will have the eternal thanks of the patio. Even if it's just once or twice. You don't have to commit to a long time period. Week by week is fine. Piénsalo, ok? I'm sure we can make this work and keep it going.

Yo No Creo En Los Hombres, Cap 14, Fri July 31, 2015- Puppy-Dog Eyes Dan is a Scumbag and Jacinto is Evil Sherlock Holmes or, If It Wasn’t For Bad Luck, Maria Delores Wouldn’t Have Any Luck

Recap by J desde NYC

Some scenes out of order, as per usual

Jacinto follows Daniel and takes pictures even as Ari watches him suspiciously and asks him whom he seeks.  Sayeth Jacinto: “What does it matter to you?”

Max offers to help Honoria get Julian out of his prison jam. Honoria is grateful and tells him Fermin is out of his coma and ready to testify (declarar).  Maria Delores shows up and even as Honoria gives her the stink-eye and tells her not to come visiting her son, MD insists on waiting in line to visit Julian, too.  Max looks on with a combination of admiration for MD and sadness, clearly believing the lies perpetrated against our beleaguered protagonista.

Lo Imperdonable #53-54 Thu 7/30/15-Fri 7/31/15 We Are Stuck In A Rut It Seems

Greetings Everyone! I don't know what happened with Thurs recap but I have added a quick recap of what happened on Thurs as well as my regular Fri recap.

Thurs:

 * Marty watches as Vero sleeps. She wakes up. "Good Morning, mi amor" he tells her. She tells him that she's not his "amor" anymore and she doesn't like it when she watches him sleep. (What would she think if she finds out he was kissing all over her while she was asleep) He tells her that he loves seeing her beautiful face in the morning. He gives her a flower that is her favorite. She doesn't want it. He promises that he'll bring her one every morning until she accepts it. (More on this later..)

*  Botel is sad over seeing Magda so depressed. Botel blames himself. Dr. Del Rio tells Botel that he has to have patience. Botel hopes Dr. can help her. Dr. understand Botel's desperation. And yes, they do need to find something that makes Magda get out of her depression.

* A depressed Magda lays in her hotel bed. Cell phone rings. She doesn't answer.

* Ana Perla and Old Goat talk about Manuel. Old Goat is worried about him. Ana Perla is hurt by what happens to her brother. But she doens't want Old Goat to suffer over Manuel's crap. It pisses Ana Perla off that Manuel didn't change even after he was locked up. Ana Perla reminds the Old Goat that he has to take care of himself. He assures her that he'll be fine. She tells him that even though he seems grumpy he's a good man. She tells him that he worries about Manuel despite how rude he was with him and all the horrible things he said.

La Sombra del Pasado #118 (Mx 121) 7-31-15 Emanuel FINALLY gets a hug!

Greetings, my dear friends!  Let’s jump right into our story.  Yesterday we ended with a cowardly, yet bold,  broad daylight attack on our beloved Silvia, right in the town square!  It was very shocking and painful for me last night and is no less so twenty four hours later!  Silvia screams and cries in pain for help as a waiter at one of cafes runs up and offers his apron and assures her the police have been called!

At this moment, Padre is with Eman offering him words of comfort and encouragement:  He is not the son of Severiano Mendoza, he is a child of God!   Essentially he tells him that Sev’s being his sperm donor is an unfortunate circumstance of destiny, perhaps a painful accident, but no more than that:  he should be proud of being Emanuel, only Emanuel because before God, none of us have a last name.  Padre leaves and Eman struggles but gives in to racking sobs.

Across town Prudencia confirms what I suspected.  Wearing a flaming red cape over black pants and top she answers the door and lets in the two scumbags who attacked Silvia.  They give her Silvia’s phone and show her a brief video they made of the attack.  Pru drunkenly chortles, tells them they did a good job and pays them.  Prudencia.  Enter thou the gates of hell!

Amores con Trampa #89 Never mind an Eye for an Eye... a Lie for a Lie...will whoever is NOT LYING to anyone step forward??

Ok I was able to run this recap through before heading to church to help out. Here it goes...
Facu starts shouting and ranting about what he came home to find… first victim is Beto… he left him ‘in charge!’  then he wonders what Andres (Diego’s brother) is there… he points at Susana who instantly says ‘who, me??’  Facu yells for ‘Yoya’ (Carmen) but she won’t come downstairs… Maria and Facu have some news… Porfirio correctly guesses that they all are heading back home to the country.  Facu says that’s it!! After Perpetua rants at Porfirio to not get too far ahead and let them announce the news. Indeed, that is the news! From Facu and Maria… We’re all headed home!! (scan around gives mixed reactions. Andres sad, Beto frozen, Perp Porf very happy. Jacinto is still processing the info.  Facu asks for more of a reaction. The only one to speak is Porfirio who could not be happier (he is looking forward to reunite with some lady he left behind…)  Jacinto finally is ready to report… he is surprised, more so than when he learned about quantum physics…  Facu suddenly gets the blues… he is regretting having brought them over to the city… he thought it was for their good… but he realizes now that there is nothing more important than the love of family.

Isa in bed wondering where her pills are… she looks around.  Tries to calm herself down… she needs her S.O.S. pills.  She tries to tell herself she can’t take any more pills.

Porfirio says the eggs taste better out there in the country.  (LOL!!)

Maria notices Beto is sad… Facu and Maria ask him… he says he doesn’t know what will happen with his studies/career.  Maria says there are colleges out there too…  and about Rocio… (she gives him a kiss on cheek and hug… to cheer him up… works to a degree.)  Facu is still celebrating, but still yelling ‘Yoya!!!’

Yoya is still trying to get Francis and Diego out of her room… Facu and Maria come over and Facu wonder what Carmen was doing in her room with Diego. Carmen asks her dad to trust her. Nothing!  Facu then turns to Diego, who assures him he really loves Carmen and was not doing anything to her. Facu warns him that if something happens to her…. Diego reassures him he respects her.

Yo No Creo En Los Hombres Capítulo 13 Thurs 07-30-2015 Will someone PLEASE tell MD what's going on?

Alma visits Max and Claudio at the office. She’s surprised to see Isela there. Claudio explains that Isela told him where Leo was, so she’s proven twice that he can trust her. Alma wants to know if he will help Honoria deal with Julian’s case. Max notes that his dad can’t really help because, as a judge, he has to remain impartial.

Weekend Discussion: Karmageddon Comes to Santa Lucia (La Sombra del Pasado)

We're coming close to the end and the crap is flying so here is the all-important discussion of the Karmageddons awaiting the evil ones in our story. As usual we will ask the following two questions:

What do you think the writers will do to them?
What do you think they really deserve?

Contrary to my usual practice I am posting my thoughts in this article because of my current computer issues.

La Sombra del Pasado #117(US, Mx 120) 7/30/15 I suck at titles

Felt like word salad to me tonight. It's probably must me.

Aldonza vows to find out the truth about her father's death.

The search party that looks a little bit like a possee looks for Em. Mudo finds Em's shirt draped on a branch.

Candela whines because Cris is not at her side. He cares more about Em than he cares about meeee!

Ren tells Aldonza that it's going to be hard to solve Ray's death and prove who did it. It's been years. And if she's going to accuse Sev, she might want to have some proof.

Em is passed out near the waterfall at El Santuario. I wonder if there are any outtakes from this scene. I bet they're funny.

Lo Imperdonable #52 Wed 7/29/15 Just the Facts.

Hi folks,
I'm filling in for LatinaInMd today with a quick and dirty rundown of last night's events.  Latina should be back here next week.  Yay!

The police come to the cantina (the same ones who had previously locked Manny in the Cave Jail) and Ireri tells them Manuel has been up to his old tricks.  Inexplicably, they don't arrest him.  Nor does Ireri want them to.

On the phone, Ginny tells Dr. F that the pregnancy test was negative.  He's sad.  She rolls her eyes.

Dr. F tells Ginny that Vero is awake, had a terrible fight with Marty and wants to go back to Mexico.  Ginny tells him to do whatever it takes to keep her in Mina Escondida – even if what he does ends up killing her.

Despite Marty's vehement protests, Vero accepts Pierre's invitation to convalesce in his hotel.  Unlike Claudia, she insists on paying for the room.  Pierre tells Marty that he is no longer included in the invitation.  Marty acts like a jealous ass.  (How the actors kept from giggling during this scene, I don't know.)

Yo No Creo En Los Hombres Capitulo 12 Wed 7/29/15 The Clown seaps his glory

(Some scenes were merged out of context. .)

Hon goes to the hospital to check up on Vermin pleading for him to wake up in order to  save their son from jailtime and bullies. Vermin suddenly does wake up and the doctor says that he will be ready to testify in a few days. ( You know it  kind of sucks when an alcoholic has to save you from  a mess)

Appearently Dan called Victor( The crooked lawyer) who told him that only the family can visit him now. Dan chastises  MD for not telling the lawyer that Julian got beat up. MD is angry that Max got in between Leo & Clara but Dan advises MD to make Clara dump Leo otherwise Julian wont be the only one to end up  in jail. His parents would not accept Clara anyway.

La Sombra del Pasado #116 (Mx 119) - Wed 7/29 - The more things change, the more they stay the same

Melesio agrees to try to get Cris to come outside, but it's going to be difficult if he's with Cande.  In the meantime, Aldonza and Don Camilo need to stay hidden.  Jacinto walks them off to one side.

Sev lays the guilt on thick, saying he's going upstairs to check on Cande and Cris should stay put because she needs him.  And then, for some unknown reason, he heads outside and drives off in the truck, never noticing Aldonza, Jacinto, and Don Camilo lurking by a tree.

Yo No Creo En Los Hombres #11 Tue 7/28/15 Five SidesTo Every Story

Max grimaces during the little celebration for Ivana and Daniel’s engagement.

That night Danny gripe at Mama Ursula for planning the whole thing and insisting on an engagement complete with the ring that she went out and bought herself for him to use.  (Better bite it to see if it’s real.)  Mama gripes at him for bringing the guttersnipe social climbing wannabe to their place to screw her.  “—That is the problem!  You interrupted me before I could!”  Maleny asks why he told Max what a lying, thieving tramp she was.  He tells Mal that it was the best way to protect both of them and their plans since it was obvious Max was interested in her.  Mama wants the Maria Deloris business over and done with.  Not gonna happen, says Danny Boy.  In fact, Mama is going to help him get her into bed with him or else!

Meanwhile, Clara asks MD why Dan didn’t show up at Rudolfo’s funeral.  "--Why he was arranging for the money to help Julian and then his boss had him stay at the manse with her and their guests the entire weekend."  Leo asks why Dan didn’t want her talking to his brother.  MD turns the table on him and says it was his brother who told her today he didn’t want anything to do with her.  (Yeah, but that conveniently avoids answering the original question:  did Dan really tell you not to have anything to do with his brother!)  Leo offers to intervene to clear up any misunderstandings but Mardi won’t allow it.

When bad things happen to bad people La Sombra Del Pasado #114 (Mx 116) 07/27/2015

Hi patio peeps, below is your Monday night recap, a big thank you to Kat, AKA best team leader EVER for putting up a recap last week!

We get some footage from Friday night's episode, mainly Aldi telling Humberto that she's the one that will be talking to E-man, he had several years to man up and never did, she's also not going to give him the opportunity to lie to E-man.

Aldonza leaves and Humberto asks Adelina how Aldi found out that E-man was her brother. Adelina spills: Aldi had her fathers remains exhumed so she could have him cremated and spread his ashes in ES, when they opened his coffin only his body was there, she then questioned everyone and connected the dots. Ade tells him that she even went to see Sev, and Humberto tells her that Sev is such a bastard that he would never admit to being E-mans father.

Lo Imperdonable #50 Mon 7/27/15 Ladies' Night

Last night the women claimed the spotlight.  The men?  Mere props.  Supporting players in some cases, obstructing players in others.  Verónica, Virginia and Magdalena were geographically apart but their stories were more intertwined than ever.  Nanciyaga and Matilde were both responsible for saving a life, though Nanciyaga was a reluctant hero.  (Even lightweight Ana Perla had a sweet, if parenthetical moment.)  And the Virgin of Guadalupe was a featured guest star.

Verónica – ow! that hurts!

Nanciyaga has grudgingly worked her leafy magic; Vero awakens confused and in tremendous pain.  Why does her leg hurt so much?  And her head?  Ay ay ay, what a killer headache!  And what's that crap on her brow?  Marty tells her about the fire and how she was hurt when a beam fell on her.  She has a broken leg and a serious head injury.  It was Nanciyaga who helped bring her back to consciousness.  Dr. F couldn't tell them when – or even if – she would wake up.

Chapter 10: Bad Feelings

Part 1

While Fermin the Vermin was being hit by a getaway car, Maria Dolores was fading fast. Daniel the Weasel had plied her with booze until she was lying under him on the couch in the hunting cottage. He was the hunter and she was his prey. A cell phone rang. Maria Dolores recognized it as hers. It was Clara letting her know that Julian had been arrested. He was accused of killing Rudolfo. She said not to call Max and she would be right there. Daniel could not talk her out of that. Thank Somebody.

The captions were off tonight, almost everyone was deep in the SBeC accent and my brain decided it didn't understand Spanish. I've recapped the first 30 minutes. I will finish it tomorrow when it's up on Hulu. The captions will hopefully be better.

There’s a rehash of Carmen taking down the casting information and Francis trying to goad her into a fight. Unfortunately, Carmen in unaware that Francis has removed the most important part of the poster. It’s a casting for models for a teeny weeny bikini line.

At the boutique, Maria tells Rocio that Fac is not the man she married. Rocio tells Maria that Beto told her about Maria left Florencio at the altar for Fac. Rocio asks Maria if she ever regretting leaving Florencio stranded at the altar. Maria gets uncomfortable and walks away. Both of them hear the bell announcing a customer. A man enters with a huge bouquet of roses. Maria thinks it’s Facundo, but it’s Florencio. He says “all these roses together cannot match the beauty of your face.” He hopes they can can at least make her ojitos de venado sparkle (I translate under duress because it sounds like crap in English: literally deer eyes. Yo No Creo En Los Hombres #9 Fri 7/24/15 A Date with Fate and a Twisted Date

Parte 1~~

The twist to the legal agreement, Maria Doloris and Isela learn, is that they lose their jobs along with the old pervert, Jacinto.  MD gives the bad news to the rest of the women in the shop.
Meanwhile, Esperanza learns of Julian’s gesture of offering to loan the money to Mardi for the rental space to begin a seamstress/tailor shop and refuses it in her name.

Leo mentions to Clara that it’s obvious that Julian has the hots for her big sis.

Josefa fairly breathes down Isela’s neck as she makes a call to Max’s daddy, the Judge, to whine about losing her job as part of the agreement.

MD is working late that night on the dress for Ivana when Max drops by to give her a bit of encouragement for the meeting the next day; she scolds him for accepting terms she and Ise “would never have agreed to,” and he leaves with his tail between his legs.

La Sombra del Pasado #113 (Mx 115) The Sombra begins to fade

Hola, mis amigos del Patio de la Sombra!  Let’s dive right in!  The episode felt staccato and that may be reflected in the recap.

Adelina confesses her undying love for Aldonza’s father, the late Raimundo Alcocer.  Aldonza is surprised and realizes this is the great secret Adelina spoke of some time ago.  Adelina still loves Ray because he lives in her heart though she asks Aldonza to forgive her.  It feels like such a sin to have been in love with her own sister’s husband.  Aldonza thinks it is nothing of the sort and thinks her father would have been better off with someone like Adelina.  Aldonza wants her to proudly display the picture but Adelina says no:  it’s a torture for her.  The dead should rest in peace.

Gonzalo has apparently confessed his tremendous two-day old love for Flavia to Renato.  Renato is concerned that not only do they not have anything in common, but Flavia is not legally divorced from her husband who is also a business partner of his (Renato’s)!  Gonzalo thinks the pot is calling the kettle black but Renato disagrees.    Does Flavia feel the same?  She feels something but she’s confused and trying to sort through her feelings about her husband.  Gonzalo throws the Aldonza/Cris thing back in Renato’s face.  Gonzalo is going to exercise his right to try to win Flavia’s heart so Renato finally backs down as they realize they haven’t really greeted each other and hug.

PJ counsels Jock that even if they get a divorce, in the eyes of the Church, marriage cannot be dissolved!  PJ says Jock should forgive Flavia, truly, from the heart.

Tomas and his father discuss the trumped up assault charges Pru brought against him.  He swears it isn’t true and they decide to consult Silvia.  That way Pa can get a chance to meet this wonderful girl!

Cande has a fit over Cris’s torn shirt and learns he ripped it in a fight with Renato over Aldonza.  She has her tiring pissy fit which we, unfortunately, can see and hear when we close our eyes.  To Cande’s screeched inquiry Cris answers, NO, he can’t get her out of his heart, much the same way that she can’t get PJ out of hers.  Cris leaves her to stew.

Amores con Trampa #84 Facu gets deceived by Santee, Esteban and Beto so he misses the meeting with the investors. Florencio arrives at MC. Rocio and Beto strengthen their love in front of Hilda and Francis

The Carmona kids and Alejandra and Andres playing with the water and the hose. (was kind of cute Jacinto suggested playing without water (just hoses) to not waste water.
Isabel finds Jacinto building a fence or cage for animals… she asks if he will thank her for telling him what was happening (Beto and Rocio were getting married)…  Facu not so sure it was for the best… Isa asks if he ranted on Maria (put her in her place)…  Facu insists he does not want trouble or wars with anyone… Isa keeps getting close to Facu… he suggests she go back home… Isa tells him he can count on her for anything (and of course puts her hand on his face just as Maria comes out of the house and catches them)… Maria acts all proper/indifferent (you can keep him, I will give him to you for free)…  Facu surprised and does not appreciate being gifted around as if he were a box of candy…  Maria insists Isa can keep him… they keep going back and forth and Facu’s cap blows…  Maria leaves offended, Isa pulls Facu back and asks him ‘if I do accept that ‘present’ what would happen?’  Facu is totally taken aback she is even considering that possibility and runs in the house after Maria… Isa starts feeding the goats… lol
Rocio is confronting Hilda for Beto…  Rocio more than irritated and pushes Hilda back and Hilda falls on a guy who drops his food… Rocio apologizes to the guy… Beto begs Rocio not to get into fights with Hilda anymore…  Hilda suggests Beto will end up with her, who has no doubts or complications…  Rocio only came to the school to see Beto to tell him she loves him with all her heart. She saw everything, so she has no doubts about him… no one will separate them.  She wants everyone to hear that no one will separate them. She has a heart necklace to give him which reflects her heart that she gives to him.  Love you . Will love you always.  (sealed with a kiss)… Hilda suddenly feels very out of place or the odd man out.  Frances and her shadowgirls are there to witness the scene… Frances starts whinning that she does not know when the exclusive college became a neighborhood taqueria. Carmen also comes in. Rocio leaves and Beto goes on to class.
At office, Esteban wants Santee to sign some docs. Santee says he won’t be fooled twice, he will read the documents very carefully before signing.  Esteban asks him not to get in trouble by doubting Facu. Santee starts namecalling Facu (charro montaperros). And undermines the business savvy of Facu’s.  Then he starts talking about women when he looks at the Isa photo frame.  Then talks about Estefani and her flirting… and then Mireya with her ‘confusions’… but all that is over… Now all his efforts are aimed at the ranchero (Facu). And to recover what was his.  He expects Esteban to help him. Esteban not so sure.

Lo Imperdonable #48 Thu 7/23/15 The one where EXPLOSIVE stuff happens

Hello, everybody!

I had a very bad morning, probably the worst in ages, so I wasn't able to watch the show or write a recap as I had planned. I'm extremely sorry and ashamed, but these have been difficult days for me, as I received a couple of bad news and more might follow (friendly advice: never move to France - it will suck the life out of you and then, when you finally come out for air, it will suck some more).

The one VERY bright spot right now is that my baby is doing just fine, which is the only thing that truly matters, but all the rest is a mess, so I didn't have the heart to watch the show.
I am so very sorry to disappoint you all, especially after Eli's two stellar recaps (btw, Eli, great job yesterday, too, you bring it every single time - thank you so much for your hard work!).

Please, if you can, feel free to include whatever you want about last night's show in your comments and later on I might have the time to edit this post and add your stuff, too.

Now I have to go struggle with some French bureaucrats some more, as my day is only half over and who knows what will happen next. If only I had a gold mine somewhere deep in the Mexican nowhere land to go hide...

Adriana Noel

Later Edit:

Thank you so much, Vivi and Anon 09:48, for giving us the highlights of the episode. It seems like I lost quite an explosive show.
I will add them here, so that anyone who comes to the post later on, can find them faster.

La Sombra del Pasado #112 (Mx 113-114)

The Legal Bits-Em's Case
Padre goes to see Emanuel. They talk about the robbery. Em says it was worth it to save Solitario's life. Padre waxes all kinds of dramatic. Fight the good fight! It's the biggest fight of your life and Sev is the biggest enemy. You aren't just fighting for yourself you're fighting for ALL the little people Sev has trod upon. God is on your side! You will win! At the end of the road you will find your origin and your destiny and you will find it mounted on your horse EL SOLITARIO!!

Emanuel gets sentenced to prison. They are going to transfer him to El Reclusorio Laa Vigas. I'm pretty sure the sentence said he would stay there an undetermined amount of time until the judge made a decision(?) Throughout the episode it was made clear that that was code for "he's probably not getting out any time soon." Slivia says they will get him out. Em knows he has no defense. Silvia and Pato are hoping that Em's wanting to save the horse's life will at least get him a reduced sentence.

Lo Imperdonable #47 Wed 7/22/15 Claudia suelta la sopa

Hello my patio peeps, you get me for the 2nd day in the row! I'm going to ask you guys for a favor, it seems like we are getting more people commenting on this show, but many show up as anonymous, if you can (and want to) would our new friends please sign up for an account so that I have something to call you instead of "Anonymous 20:13"?- if you don't want to sign up for an account that's ok, the box at the bottom before you comment allows you to put in a user name without having to sign up for an account. I just think it'd be awesome to get to know who we are talking to in the comments!

Now your recap:

The Old Goat and Family:

Pablo gets grilled. He tells the old goat his story: he does not come from money, he is on a scholarship that allows him to pay his expenses, he has an art show scheduled in New York which should net him enough money to buy a house in Pueblo Nuevo. The old goat freaks out at the thought of Pablo taking AP with him but Pablo promises that he won't, he has no plans to move to the city. The Old Goat questions how Pablo will manage to keep AP living in the same standard that she's used to...sorry, time for a rant:

Dear Old Goat,

Your granddaughter has spent a life time being bullied by Manuel simply because she was born with a vagina, she has been treated as a second class citizen, and as a criminal who needs to be watched at all times to prevent her from what? Having a party in her pants? More recently she has been emotionally abused by your pig of a grandson and has been locked in a shed, oh and let's not forget that she's not even allowed to read because god forbid she should get any "ideas"- I'm pretty sure AP would gladly live in a hovel like Veronica's if it meant having some freedom, what good is all the money she has now when she can't even walk down the street without you and Manuel thinking she's going to start jumping the bones of every man in town?

End of rant. PS:I'm still counting down to your death!

La Sombra del Pasado #111 (Mx 112) - Wed 7/22 - Love sh-- yeah, not so much

Renato visits Las Animas to harass Sev and Cande for not putting forth any kind of search.  Sev says that if Cris doesn't want to be found, there is no way to find him, which Renato would know if he was familiar with the terrain.

Cris thinks that Aldonza's amorous attentions are proof that if they just run away forever, they can be together.  She insists they can't run forever.  She still thinks Val might be giving Cris the child she'll "never" be able to and it hurts.  Cris gets the impression that the piece of trash who raped her is still around and he has some ass kicking to do.  Aldonza denies it, but says she's engaged to Renato, so Cris backs off.

Lo Imperdonable #46 Tue 7/21/15 Babies, soulmates, and disappointment

Hiii patio peeps, here goes a quick recap! Apologies for any spelling mistakes, I'll clean this up later!

I'm skipping the old and going to the new: (Events not in order)

Matilde gets the letter in which Veronica tells her that her marriage is not what she expected, Marty has shown his true colors and while she loves him and they've had some lovely times, this is not enough for her to stick around, she will wait until Marty returns from his trip, then she will travel to Mexico and start the divorce process. Veronica asks that Matiilde keep this to herself until she gets a chance to tell uncle Jorge what's going on. Matilde laments that Vero is too good to be suffering so much.

Matilde is shaken by the letter and left in tears, she calls Marty and tells him that they need to talk, they arrange to meet the next day at a cafe near the notary Marty is using to make Vero half owner of his portion of La Morenita. The next day Marty goes to the notary and finishes the process of giving Vero ownership of the mine- the paper work will take an hour and instead of waiting Marty opts to leave in order to meet with a very unhappy Matilde.

La Sombra del Pasado, Capitulo #110 (Mx 111), 07/21/2015: New Scenery, Same Story

Sorry y’all, but this recap’s a little smushed and out of order, like a cookie in a back pocket. But I think all of the important parts are still there and also I'm still sleepy so let's jump in shall we?

The Short of It: Lola talks to Eman. Nothing useful happens there. She and Pato fight. She and Mel don’t find S/V, obviously. Val is once again staying at LA. Everyone in SL knows she’s pregnant. Adelina gives Pru whatfor in public. Joaq agrees to let Ray visit Flavia in DF. PJ tells Adelina he may have to leave SL. Cris and Al start on the check list of Cabin Reconciliations. Also, Cris’s horse is stolen.

Yo no Creo en los Hombres #6 Tues 7/21/15 No karma anvils yet for Jacinto. Maybe karma pebbles?

All right, first things first. Hi, my name is Rain, and I am one of your Tuesday recappers! I'm in my mid 20s, live in the Midwest, and am a giant fan of anything involving pretty people, romance, and melodrama, whether it's in English or not. I am a huge fan of Asian dramas for this reason, and though this is only my 2nd telenovela, I'm rapidly becoming a fan of them as well. (Which is why the recent assortment of English subbed telenovelas Netflix put up fills me with glee.)

One caveat before we get started: My cable is weird in that the Eng subs don't work when I try to watch live, but they do for the On-Demand eps. Don't ask me why. The On-Demand isn't up yet, so I am working off my back up recording, the Spanish caps, and Google Translate for things that fly over my head. I sincerely hope I don't mess anything up, and I am so sorry if I do. I'd also like to thank CountxAlacran for sending me tips on what makes a good recap. I've tried to keep them in mind for this. But enough of my yammering. Let's get started!

La Sombra del Pasado #109 (Mx 110) - Mon 7/20 - Santa Lucia Status Updates

Flunky
Javier? The new flunky is dispatched to Simoneta's place to clean it out.  Why Sev didn't call those nice movers who helped him load the coffin table into the bed of his truck is beyond me.  Flunky pockets some jewelry while he's there.

Flavia
She really can't stand being cooped up in the hospital, so Gonzalo offers to let her stay at his house until he thinks she's ready to be around large groups of people and/or travel again.  Flavia would like Ray to come visit her at Gonzalo's, but that's going to depend on her test results.

Lo Imperdonable #45 Mon 7/20/15 Marty, get help!

The Sad Plight of Polo and Onix

Much of this episode centers on Polo and his dog Onix huddled in the tunnel of the abandoned mine.  The little boy tries to keep his growing fears at bay and remain hopeful although this becomes increasingly difficult as the hours pass and no one shows up to rescue him.  We cringe at a sudden shower of dust and gravel – is this tunnel going to collapse?  (Polo is more worried about the ghosts of dead miners.)

He stands up suddenly and hits his head.  Yow!  And his foot is hurt.  Are he and Onix ever going to get out of there alive?  Who will save them?  Well at least they have a little fruit and water in the market bag he was carrying when he ran away from Manuel.  But he is really scared.  So very scared.

Yo No Creo en los Hombres #5 Mon 7/20/15

11PM EST: It's a hot night in the Naked City. The heat feels like volcanic spume. The air is a thick hot fog with no relief in sight. The computer isn't liking it. Neither am I.

I'm still slaving over this when the steam leaves the keyboard, but this time you might get just the facts when I'm done. Until that's ready, you may want to examine the evidence in this case before I get there. See you when the smoke clears.

Dashiell Hammett

11AMEST: The heat is still on, but here's what I have so far. Hang on for the rest because these people are getting my dander up.

Chapter 5: No Truth Yet

Daniel was at the Duval house, trying to find out whom Ivana had eaten with that day. Honestly, she could do better than this creepy little worm who chewed gum like a cheap bookie. She started to describe the subject of her lunch with Max, but her aunt arrived just in time to stop that. Daniel changed the subject to a dinner invitation to dinner that night. Ivana told him tomorrow, knowing he didn't want to be put off. “Do you think you're the only man I've ever dated?” she asked. She started looking like she'd rather have root canal. “I just refuse to be hurt.”

Amores con trampa #80 and #81 7/20/15 and 7/21/15

Isa breaks into Mireya’s office and takes one of the unlabeled pills followed by the eye crossing and boing boing sound effect blinking.

Later she finds the key to the file cabinet and steals Mireya’s files.

Beto interrupts Carmen while she watches her reality model program (they are eliminating contestants tonight!) Beto tells her to get gussied up. He and Feli have a plan for her to go out with Feli. Beto will tell their parents that he’s taking Carmen to the movies. Carmen thinks he’s the best brother ever. Beto wants her to remember that and not call him bad brother names anymore. Carmen tries to decide what to wear. Beto thinks something really modest is the best thing. Apparently he thinks an afghan would make a great date outfit.
