Vino el Amor #128 (Uni # 117) - Tuesday April 18, 2017 - Vino el Plans for the Future

Miguel has got big plans for vinedo del competency. Vinedo del incompetency is falling apart and we're supposed to think that's because Luciana quit. Sure...

The real reason for vinedo del incompetency's incompetency, Duh-vid, is making another incompetent decision by planning a surprise proposal for everyone's favorite aunt Succubus.

As for the rest of the villains, Lilian is planning to destroy Gut, Gut is planning to destroy the illegal traffickers, and Perla is stewing about Juan and plans to get Carito to stew with her. Only Carito has other plans... to help Gut catch Juan and Perla.

Hang in there, we're almost at the finish line (which is episode #141/142 in Mexico and who knows with Uni since they are stretching this out to May 5). Looks like I should plan to have one more recap next week...I think we only got episode #128 in this one, based on the summary at Canal de las Estrellas. If it turns out I'm wrong, I'll edit accordingly.

La Piloto #30, 4-17-2017: Slip-Ups And Loose Ends Hurt Your Friends

Vasquez enters Yolanda’s cell and wakes her up just as Sargent Recaldo (?) abusively reminds him that Yolanda is Colonel Santa Marina’s personal property.  He’s called away and El Galeno finds his cellphone on the floor under the bed for her and says make that call now before somebody else comes along and they make din-din out of the both of us!  She does but there’s no signal.

In Villa Antigua, John and Oscar are still offering Pops Arguelles, the Rent-a-Cop, an offer he cannot refuse.  Oscar tells him that they have a friend in common that they’re looking for and want to get in touch with, El Bolches, aka Eladio the Bald Bullyboy.  Pops takes the cash and says he’ll let them know.  “—Better be today.  And BTW, smile for the camera—just in case you’re thinking of opening you’re big trap…DON’T.”  Pops exits stage left as Arley enters.  Arley tells him the stewardess, aka the Gone Gals, have been permanently exiled to the depths of “el más allá [the great beyond/afterlife]” otherwise known as that great airline in the sky.

Vino el Amor, Lunes 4/17/17 Chapter 126: When All Sex Fails, Play the Victim & Chapter 127: Surrogate and Departing Daughters

When we last saw the madness in the vineyard, Luciana had knocked on the door and seen the deliberate deshabille of Gracie, who did this deliberately to vex her. Luciana apologized to David, said she would not seek him out again, wished them happiness, and left. David started to follow her only to be shrieked at by Gracie, who gave herself credit for such sexual witchcraft that she could not believe that he would still think that way of Luciana.

Weekend Discussion 4/15/17: Vino el Amor Karmageddon comes to Sonoma

Who would have thought that the snake from the Garden of Eden really lurks in a vineyard? Well, it's time he bites the evil ones in this pastoral tale. As usual we will ask the following two questions:

What do you think the writers will do to them?
What do you think they really deserve?

Let's start with the self-styled queen and her spawn:

La Piloto #29, 4-14-2017: Death Defiant Damsels And Much Distress

Santa Marina gets a call from the higher-ups asking if he’s found the body of the pilot for the plane that crashed.  He lies and says no body was found.  In fact with a fall from the sky like that probably nobody could have survived.    Also, the general tells him of a narco production mill at a hacienda around 10 km from there.  Santa Marina’s got a plan and asks for the coordinates.

It is pretty grim pickin's this time.....

On her walk back to her cell, Yolanda starts to ask a favor of her young guard-escort (El Rubio) but is quickly interrupted by the medic, Vasquez (El Galeno) with a bottle of pills for her that she has to fake remembering she forgot (or something like that….)  Rubio warns Galeno that Col. S&M has claimed her as his hembra [hot chick/sexy female].   The medic, Vasquez, says to cool his jets and instructs him to walk her back; he’ll examine her later on.   When the dude leaves, Galeno warns Yoli to watch out who she talks to and asks favors of.  Rubio and Old Dude Sargent are the colonel’s toadies and run to him with all the news.  He’ll get her his cell to use for that call but keep mum.  (Oh, we get to hear Colombiano’s  slurred accents.  Charming but even worse than P.R. and Cubano to try to understand!)

Vino el Amor, #124/125 (Uni #115), Friday Apr 14, 2017: Operation Blushing Bride

Episode 124. Marta's Big Vacation

Luci is determined to tell David to his face how she feels about him. Leon, who is possibly even drunker than Luci, is supportive at first. Sonia has difficulty speaking, and following her own train of thought, but she says it's not a good idea. (Sonia calls Luciana "cuñada." Adorable!) Leon agrees with Sonia, but has to ask why. Sonia reminds them that David is with someone else now. This provokes another burst of grief from Luci.

David tries to tell Marta that he's not firing her. He just wants her to take a vacation because she's tired and he's worried about her. Grace backs him up on this, of course. Marta accuses her of plotting with her mother. Grace says all they've ever done is support Marta. Marta scoffs, but grudgingly agrees to take a couple of weeks off. She hobbles away, and Dave tells Grace he's never seen Marta like this. Grace says Marta will be better after she's rested and then she can be with the kids again.

Juan tells Perla they're in financial trouble. He doesn't think they can find new clients. "We" need to get back into the immigration business, he says. Perla is disgusted.

• Moreno’s man, Richard, goes inside Amparo’s prison and finds her still tied up. He tells her that it will all be over soon and leaves. As soon as he’s gone, she reveals a knife in her hands and cuts the ropes that bind her.
• The girls and Zulima run out the backdoor of the bar and hide in the backyard.

Cindy explains that the door leads to the warehouse and administrative office and Simpson offers to search it. Ortega goes with him and Dave tells Cindy that he is just asking some preliminary questions so she needn’t be nervous. She nods and he reiterates that she doesn’t know Omar Nieves and then asks her about Olivia Nieves. Cindy doesn’t know that name either.
• The girls wonder what they are going to do since they don’t have cell phones to call anyone and Olivia reminds them that this is why they needed them. Vino el Amor # 120-121 (Univision #113); Wednesday April 12, 2017: Vino el ayudo

#120

[The Univision episode was so chopped up I couldn’t make heads or tails out of it and I tried. So I went back to the Mexican version and even though this is long, I’m really sorry, it will make a lot more sense.]

Luciana shows up at SB Vineyard to help and she and Miguel get to work. She gives him a pep talk about what to do and how he needs to carry on. He says he’s grateful for everything she is doing for him.

Juan and Perla talk about how David wants to get back at him. He says it’s not his fault that Erica died and it’s her fault that she started to help with the fumigation. Perla wants him to give it up, but Juan insists that he’s going to make David pay for all he did in the past. Perla says, “If all you care about is getting revenge, then why do you want me with you?”  He promises it will end, but Perla brings up what the sheriff said that this could be homicide with Erica’s death. He says he is not worried, he’s a lawyer and he did nothing wrong. But Perla is still scared.

Vino el Amor, Tuesday, April 11, 2017, #118 + #119 (Uni #112): Vino el Parasites

In this episode, Juan's parasite takes root and attacks both vineyards. Erika decides to fight for her land, and um, well that doesn't work out (details inside). Duh-vid is an idiot who gets lucky this time with Juan's parasite, but who has taken on some personal parasites in the form of two succubi and his old lawyer.

Since Uni editors are eating this show to shreds like parasites, I did my best to find some advance clips of #118 to watch. So if some of the screencaps look a little funny, that's why. I am pressed for time, so will shorten this recap and probably not have time to watch the full #119, but will do what I can to fill in gaps later. This episode (Uni labeling it #112) starts with episode #118 in Mexico.

Just then, Zulima walks in, without knocking, and is shocked to see Roberto there. Oscar asks her to knock next time and sends Roberto away. Zulima then tells Oscar that he’s looking better but Oscar asks her to mind her own business. Zulima will but reminds him that Roberto is dead meat. Oscar tells her that whatever happens to Roberto from now on is up to him because he’s going to work with him. Zulima laughs and wonders if everyone and Olivia is going to be okay with that but he cocks his gun and she grows quiet. She then tells Oscar that Olivia used Yolanda’s phone again to call her mother and Oscar is surprised at her audacity. Zulima then informs him that the girls are growing restless and asked Yolanda to help them get out of Villa Antigua. She explains that John promised to do so after Yolanda comes back from her trip to Colombia. Oscar thinks John is an idiot for trusting Yolanda and then asks Zulima to leave so he can think.

Yolanda settles Rosalba in at her home in Altamirano while Estela hides under a table, eavesdropping.  Yoli notes when trying to leave a phone number with her aunt that she has somebody else’s (similar) cell phone and not her own with her. She shrugs it off until realizing that whoever has her phone, will know that she called DEA Dave on it since she forgot to erase the call.  Yoli sees that El Cañengo will be Rosie’s bodyguard, but at a distance.  He puts locks on all the doors and brings food for her.  Yoli says her good-byes as Rosie tells her to remember her decent upbringing and hopefully she’ll get free of the narcos and start leading a proper life and earning a proper living.

John learns from Oscar that the town folk freeze up when anybody mentions Los “Bolches”(?), the local syndicate run by Eladio, aka, The Bald-headed Bully-Boy. They are reluctant to discuss anything to do with him, he tells his brother.  Oscar wants to do a little bullying of his own to get people around there to talk, but John reminds him to keep their heads down and let things ride a bit.

Vino el Amor #108 and 109 (107 on Uni), Tuesday, April 4, 2017: Vino el Missing Jobs, Brains and Scenes

At viñedo del incompetents, everyone is jockeying for position, and let's face it, Gracie and Lilian are winning easily. Luciana tries an all-business approach that lasts about two scenes before she totally folds, while Gracie decides to just plain drop her business, at least her income source, and Grumpy David fires the therapist. At viñedo del competency (which had its scenes cut by Uni because we all know Uni loves incompetency), Miguel is visiting the other vineyard to counsel David on his lovelife, Erika hates her inhaler and Adolfo suggests to the other vineyard that maybe they should for reals implement a water source for (as far as we know) the still-turning-into-raisins vineyards.

Speaking of that genius David, there's a real meeting of the minds as those geniuses David and Gut spar over Gut not yet uncovering the dirty dealings of those geniuses Mark and Juan. Meanwhile, Perla looks for a job and Carito interviews at the competent vineyard, which might be the smartest move in this whole episode. All of these plot developments in the preceding paragraph were cut by Uni.

To figure out the cuts, I watched the Mexican episodes #108 and #109 and I looked at the summary of  #110 on the Canal de las Estrellas site. So I feel confident that last night was just a combination of 108 and 109. The cuts to 109 weren't as egregious as the ones to 108. I've noted everything in italics that was cut. I am sure I will have missed some things in this recap, especially not having the benefit of captions or transcripts for the cut scenes, so please feel free to elaborate in the comments.

Also my apologies for being somewhat absent as of late. I've barely got time to watch Vino el Amor the American version. Kind of annoyed that Uni is going to force me to watch virus-laden bootleg videos to figure out what was cut. Work and life are just super busy. I really appreciate all who subbed for me with recaps the past few weeks - Thanks!

La Piloto #21 4.4.17: In Which Yolanda Faces Some Harsh Truths...

• Amanda walks in on Arley with her coworker, Cindy, and Arley asks the girl to leave and she does. Amanda can’t believe Arley betrayed her this way after she swore their relationship was real. He reiterates that it was but men like him have a man girl but they also have other women. Amanda can’t believe his words and runs out of the office without further explanation. She runs into Zulima outside, who asks if she told him about the baby, but Amanda just grabs her and runs.
• Yolanda is filling in Rosalba on her life since her coma. Rosalba tells her that her father would be so proud to see how far she’s come as a pilot but sadly he’s dead. Yolanda remembers when the police shot him and she witness everything. Rosalba is shocked to learn how fast she learned to fly and then asks Olivia and Lizbeth if they work in CAA. They shake their heads and Rosalba remembers what she read on the news. Rosalba can’t believe they dealings with drug traffickers. Lizbeth explains that only a bar would hire them now as John comes with good news but stops himself when he sees Rosalba. He is glad to see Rosalba is going better and Rosalba thanks him. He then asks to speak to Yolanda alone and they go off.
• Outside, John asks Yolanda why she looks so scared and Yolanda reminds him that Rosalba doesn’t know they were also involved in the drug trafficking. Yolanda will take Rosalba to Altamirano in a couple of days, as soon as Carlina gives the okay, so she needs his help so she doesn’t find out the truth. John agrees and then jokes with her about how good of a pilot she is. He then brings her a device to plot cell phone locators on outgoing calls since he imagines she wants to call her mom. She kiss him and thanks him for always thinking of her.

La Piloto #20, 4-3-17: Zuli's Black Magic Backfires; Amanda Has A Crash-landing

**[Also, just a reminder that HULU+ no longer is carrying LP.  If your cable/satellite service doesn't carry Univision or On Demand with it added then if you are signed up with Univision/UniMas you can stream (for a charge) and you will be able to watch it there.**  --ed.]

The gone gals cannot stomach the rowdies at Olivia’s table.  Yolanda tells them to suck it up. Life could be worse and to ignore it. (I believe—no CC’s and crap audio.)

John calls and asks Yoli what was up with her madre.  She doesn’t know the location of the hideout or anything right? She won’t be talking? Right….. She’d better hope not.  One of the guerreros saw DEA Dave pay a visit.   Yoli goes to the office/back hallway?  and calls to get the 411 on Dave’s visit and to double-check that Mum kept mum.  She warns her that John has threatened they’ll beat her to a pulp [hacer picadillo=make mincemeatof her]  if she does open her trap.  When Yoli walks back into the bar there’s a skirmish with one of the drunk rowdies who’s trying to force Amanda out back.  Yoli has him thrown out but the leader of the pack calls YO! on it and she pulls a gun and aims it as his lower vitals….then at his head.  Try her!  Just try her!  “—We’ll meet again!”  “—Yeah?  You know where I am!”  The gals later gripe at Zulima for not standing up for them as head waitress/bartender.

Zulima suggests a bit later that Yoli try some alternative medicine, aka curandera, witchdoctor stuff to try to heal Rosalba, like they used to do in Zuli’s neighborhood when she was growing up.  Zuli plies her “magic” then turns it into black magic hoping to kill her through her black arts.

Vino el Amor, Lunes 4/3/17 Chapters 106 & 107: Sometimes Love is Not Enough / Hearts of Different Kinds

Chapter 106: Sometimes Love is Not Enough

We pick up with the closing moments of the last chapter, where Juan gloated at Susan and Luciana, calling them all failures and saying that their lands will be his shortly. [Refresh my memory, fellow flies on the wall, but didn't Juan barely make the grade back at university?] Miguel entered the scene to stop this, but Juan didn't hesitate to insult him and his sense of loyalty. Miguel didn't take the bait and neither did any of the ladies, although Susan and Luciana knew that David would be disappointed.

La Piloto #19, 3-31-17: The Shooters Get A Hooters And Dave's Still Got Squat

Part 1 n 2~~

Dave is suspicious about Simpson’s whereabouts at the time Zeki Yilmas was murdered.  However, Simp-sone has a great alibi: he was sleeping with Monica.  Of course Dave is supposedly overreacting and Simpsone makes him feel like a nosey peeping Tomas.

John and Oscar have bought the local watering hole and called it “Beautiful Sky”.  However, their new waitresses, the gone gals, are having problems fitting into their new uniforms: skimpy midriffs and hot pants that barely cover their minuscule bottoms.  Yoli tells them to buck up and she’ll see about talking John into something a bit more concealing and less revealing.  It could be worse…..It is that Oscar wants them so (pardon the possible pun) uptight they end up leaving.  So don’t give in and she’ll try persuading the O’s big bro to get them something else.

Vino el Amor, #105, Friday Mar 31, 2017: Sour Grapes

Fernanda's test results arrive. David is hopeful as he tears the envelope open, but it turns out that she didn't get enough points. The sky falls. Here is a song about that. (I promise it's not the RickRoll).

Fernanda nervously says that she was nervous. Why were you so nervous? You studied. I don't know, I had a lot of things in my head. All you had to do is pass this exam, not to think of other things. Forget about seeing Tano for now. We're going to study until you pass this exam. And to prevent further distractions, I'm going to have your aunt and grandmother leave. NO! She can't leave! I thought your aunt would help you, but I see she didn't. Sorry, Fer, things are going to be that way.

Yes she helped me. I need her, she's the only one who understands me. Evidently that's not so, Fernanda. I can't believe you're not being serious about your future. Don't you understand the importance of going to university? I swear I studied, you saw me, we studied together. You are not taking this seriously enough. Don't you realize you're taking away all I have left of my mother? (You still have her earrings, Fernanda. I promise they're way better than Graciela.) He screams in her face, ENOUGH! Your privileges are over, and that's it!

Grace comes in and tries to calm Fernanda. Grace looks at the test results and praises Fernanda for beating her previous score. She asks Fer what happened. Fer repeats that she was nervous. "That's no excuse! I asked you to concentrate!" David exclaims. Grace points out that Fer did study. "Sure, but don't you see that wasn't enough? AGAIN you've exceeded my patience, and now things are going to start changing for you."

Fernanda is starting to panic and pant. She swears that she studied. David just shakes his head.

Estela explains that the DEA offered her a lot of money and she couldn’t refuse because she has no one left in her life. Yolanda can’t comprehend that she betrayed her for money and realizes she never had a mother. Estela asks Yolanda to understand but Yolanda is disgusted; she kicks herself for always trying to believe in her. She wonders what John will do when he finds out and Estela begs her to not turn her in.
• In the cabin, Arley and Amanda bask in the glory of their lovemaking when, suddenly, Arley gets up with a start because he thinks he heard a noise. He grabs his gun but Amanda pulls him back down and tells him it was nothing. They kiss.
• Yolanda drags Estela to the edge of the woods as Estela prays; she has always depended on others and the money Yolanda gave her in the morning is not enough. Yolanda tells her to stay put as she thinks about something. Zulima has heard everything but has remained undetected by Yolanda.

• The DEA arrive at the station with Zeki. Simpson sees him from his office and calls someone on his cell to inform them that Zeki is alive.
• In an interrogation, the prosecutor reads Zeki his crimes as Simpson walks in and introduces himself. Zeki tells them that if they want information on the Lucio organization, he needs immunity.
• In a mechanic shop, Yolanda tells Zulima that they have to leave Tres Fuegos as quickly as possible and she’d rather not tell her where they are going for her own safety. Estela congratulates Yolanda on finally finding a friend with class and introduces herself. She offers Zulima to see with her and they all go inside the bus.

La Piloto #15, 3-27-2017: The Rumble And The Aftermath

Dave and the posse aka Simpson (now the new Dave replacement?) and move in on foot waving their pathetic pistols as the John and Oscar grouse over John’s taking YO!Landa instead of him.  Of course, while Daverted and the good guys go on foot, the bad guys, packing semi-automatic(?) assault rifles/sub-machine guns and the like, get away in the air as Viewerville no longer  wonders why we’re losing the war against drugs.  (Like just what’s wrong with this scenario, DUH?)  Yolanda has Dave in her sights but refuses to pull the trigger.  Well, John and YO!li try to escape in his pet plane, but it looks like Red Baron 1 won’t start.  John and she race to the next couple of planes. I cannot catch the discussion, but one of them I figure says she CAN with another plane/on her own while the other one figures she CAN’T.

She gets into another plane—but has left her black backpack of who remembers what goodies-- and trawls off after John in one of his other planes while the shootout at the Narc-O.K. corral continues on the ground.

Daverto sees the last plane racing down the runway and he has Simpson and some others jump into a couple of SUV’s to face Yoli down.  Simpson is screaming about crashing into the darned thing.  Dato is single-minded, if nothing else, and plays a high stakes death-defying double-dawg-dare-ya with Yoli.   YO! lifts off at the very last second before crashing head on into the SUV’s.

Yoli is all smiles at what she’s pulled off.  Dave has somebody get hold of the flight tower near by or ??? He wants to know when and where the 2 planes and a copter land so the Feds can send in the troops.

John gripes that the radios in his plane don’t work.  He has to use his cell instead.  He calls Oscar who’s got Arly watching over Rosalba.  She’s dying/half dead and O doesn’t have the slightest idea what to do.  Well, inform Yoli and see if she’s gotten off ok.  O warns his brother that he’s not ready to risk life and limb for someone who he doesn’t know or care a fig about.  John urges him to play nice till he can figure out what to do with the woman.

Yoli tries with her radio but it’s worthless as well.  She tries using her maps.

Fernanda, love doesn't work like that,” he said.

Whenever I try to get close to you to talk you about this and you end up not being happy.”

They ask her who the man she was talking to was and she explains that it was a prosecutor and he tried to persuade her to say all she knew about the Lucios and Zeki in exchange for a lower sentence. They asks her if she took the deal but Amanda points out that she’s still in jail with them so obviously she didn’t. Just then, they bring in Zulima and all the girls go in for a hug. They ask her if she’s okay and Zulima confirms she is despite the fact that she almost died. They then ask about Yolanda and Zulima confirms that she heard she was okay and that John rescued her in the forest. A policeman comes in and tells the girls that Olivia has a visitor.

Vino el Amor #96, Friday 3/17/17: Water, Water, Everywhere Else, But Not a Drop for Lil

Yesterday –  (See Julie’s rippin’ good tale at the end of yesterday’s recap)
The review starts with Dr. Evil Anderson trying to convince David he’s at fault for Fer’s suicide attempt. It includes Juan and Mark plotting in English; Luci and Leon discussing Mamá’s betrayal, and Marta and Lilian’s confrontation in the kitchen.

Today – (All you’ve got is me)
Dr. Evil and Fer – Fer is telling the doc that she feels worse now that she realized her affection for her nana was misplaced because of what she did with Fer’s own granddaddy. Dr. Evil jumps up, very concerned that she might try to off herself again. Fer insists that she’s almost positively sure she didn’t want to commit suicide, she only wanted to feel better. Dr. Evil (with $$$$ dancing in his head) assures her that her motives are hidden deep inside her and that’s what he’s there for. Fer says, juarever. She is going to concentrate on defending her feelings for her aunt, her grandmother and for, sigh, Tano, un tipazo.

Marta and Lil – The two continue their argument in the kitchen. Marta says she’s no longer afraid of Lil’s threats. Since she lost the love of Fer and her children, there’s nothing to hold her back, so beware, Lil. Marta sneers that the Patron still prefers her to Lil to care for the children. Lil answers back that she’ll figure out a way to get close to the grandchildren and if Marta had any dignity, she would leave. Lil gloats that she didn’t get Fernando nor Gut. Marta has had enough and hands Lil a drippy ladle and tells her here, if she wants to be a good grandmother, finish the meal. Marta stalks out. Yikes, Lil holds the ladle away from her as if it were a poisonous snake and yells for Sonia, who has the bad luck to be within earshot of the battlefield.

La Piloto #8 3.16.17: In Which Yolanda Gives Into Her Desires...

• Yolanda, dressed as a flight attendant, lies back in bed and thinks about all that happened with Ernesto. She signs and then leaves. Outside, she receives a call from John but ignores it.
• In the airline, Yolanda calls Estela looking for Ernesto but she has no idea where he is. She calls her daughter but Yolanda tells her to never call her that again because she doesn’t have a daughter since she turned her back on her. Zulima comes and quietly stands behind Yolanda as she tells Estela that she will find Ernesto and make him pay for what he did. This time it won’t be a cut across his face, this time she’s going to kill him. Yolanda hangs up and Zulima touches her shoulder. Yolanda jumps and asks her how long she has been standing there. Zulima confirms that she came for coffee and heard everything. Yolanda confirms that Ernesto left her with nothing but she will deal with it. Zulima offers her support as Yolanda receives a call and goes off to answer it. Zulima keeps her eye on Yolanda as she walks off and pulls out Ernesto’s card with his number on it.
• At the same time, Yolanda answers John’s call and tells him she doesn’t feel like talking right now. He backs off but offers to take her to dinner. She accepts but tells him it can’t be tonight because she has something to do. He reminds her that Dalberto is alive because of him and Yolanda chides him for always seemingly doing her favors but still asking her to pay for them. Vino el Amor, #95, Thursday Mar 16, 2017: A Dry Spell Begins

Hi all! Cynthia is dealing with a cupcake emergency tonight. She will return as your recapper next week.

Luci tells Dave she thinks it's better for everyone if they break up. Dave can't believe life is so unfair, it's the second time that what he loves most is taken away from him. Luci says no, it's just not their time. He tells her that she's shown him the best time he's had in ages, and she will stay with him in his heart. They hug. She doesn't want to hurt anyone else with their love. He says they have to consider themselves very lucky to have lived such a special love. He says "I love you" (te amo), and she replies "I will always love you" (yo siempre te voy a amar).

They share one last whiskery kiss. Luciana walks away crying.

Lilian is having coffee with Brian. She's gloating about Marta's admission of the affair. Bri says he's sorry and he doesn't know what to say, but he looks as though he also doesn't give a crap. Lil continues that Marta said she did it to hurt Lil AND because she was in love with Lil's husband, in that order. Bri says he's sure Marta is suffering. Lil says Marta deserves it; she fooled Brian too. Lil is excited that this is giving her a second chance to be with David and with her granddaughter. (I guess Bobby can go fly a kite.) And with Brian, too. Brian dutifully smiles and puts his hand on hers. Lil assures him that she's not a bad person, and had good reason to treat Marta the way she did.

Brian kisses her hand and says, "enjoy your coffee." Steamy!

Vino el Amor #94; Wednesday, March 15, 2017: Vino la Verdad

As we left off yesterday, the truth comes out about Marta’s affair with Fernando. Luciana, standing in the living room is shocked at what she hears and says, “Mamá?” Fernanda also looks up and says, “Nana, what is happening?” Lil angrily looks at Marta and says, “Now they all know who you really are! And now they understand why I am the way I am with you!” Marta just looks down and is now looking ashamed and doesn’t know what to say.  Fernanda is just shocked. Lil comes running down the stairs saying, “She took my husband away from me just to hurt me!” Luciana looks up at Lil and says, “Señora, please!” Lil just looks at Luciana and tells her, “As much as it hurts to say the truth, your mother destroyed my marriage. She went with my husband KNOWING he was married to me and she didn’t care.” Marta comes out to Lu saying, “No, no, no, it wasn’t like that at all. I swear they weren’t.” But Lil goes on, “I didn’t say anything. I suffered alone with this. And why?” (Lil looks at Fernanda) “Because of you dear. I didn’t want to destroy your illusions.” Marta tries to get out of it by saying she only said those words to annoy Lilian and goes on to say, “I’m simply not capable of doing those things.”

A Que no Me Dejas, the filler episode #129, 03/14/17

This was a totally boring episode.

Jaime and Gisela: Gisela meets Jaime for lunch and gets right to the point: she wants a divorce. They don't want the same things any more and heck, they don't even sleep together. Gisela admits they have a wonderful family but that's not enough, Jaime asks her to reconsider but she says she wont. They agree to take things slowly so that Jaime can talk things out with Fabricio. Le sigh, this could all have been avoided had Jaime told his wife that he has CANCER.

Vino el Amor, Lunes 3/13/17 Chapter 92: Extreme Distress

Some scenes combined for clarity:

David got on Tano's case for getting involved with Fernanda. He started blaming him for Fernanda's depression. Tano tried explaining why it wasn't like that. Their relationship started on her birthday and he was trying to balance it so that he could return to college and so she could pick up her grades. She came to him all upset because of her differences with him (David) and wanting them to run away together. He had refused and she became angry with him. He would not comply with her request that they run away together out of respect for him and for his own father. David asked whether he knew why Fernanda was in the hospital and he said “Yes, because she took some pills.”
Yes. Because she wanted to take her own life.”
Tano looked shocked. Both should have been.

La Piloto #4 3-10-2017: Lift Off!

As we drop into our comfy couches this evening, Monica leads a team to examine the taxi that was used as a decoy and abandoned.  She is curses-foiled-again-impactada.

John and Yolanda finish the flight in his Red Baron (Cesna?) special.  She was loving it.  He offers to teach her to fly – all she’s got to do is say the word.  She asks what’s he want in exchange?  Growing up, she realized early on, men always want something in exchange with a woman. He had to work hard and scrabble for all he has.  A smile from her is enough.  Actually, he’s trying to do right by her for saving his life and risking her own at the same time.  She answers she would have done that for anyone.  (I kind of doubt it.)  So, consider them even now.  Just to be totally honest, though, it bugs her; she doesn’t appreciate being in gunfights or having the police hounding her all the time.  And, so, she’s heading home.

Dave is upset that the Lucios are always a step ahead of him and Monica.  They cannot keep this up or it’s watching over the drug inventory in the medicine closet of the DEA office in Barrow, Alaska for him.  Moni says they captured a phone call between Zeki and Zulima last night telling her there’s been a hit ordered on Lisbet.  (Ms. Blonde Ambition).  Dave remembers that Yoli is supposed to be with her this evening and so her life’s in danger also.  He tries calling but there’s no answer.  They can’t get there in time.  They form plan.  Outside the house, Oscar’s two goons are watching the girls enter.  They call him for directions considering there’s a second girl with Blonde Bette.  Oscar has them describe her and thinks about it.  He tells them to kill her also.  (Viewerville gasps a communal breath of angst.)

Vino el Amor, #91, Friday Mar 10, 2017: Love Hurts

Paco tells Miguel and Susan that he doesn't want to talk to Gutierrez. Susan and Mig thank him for his help and decide to wait for the truck to arrive.

Luci thinks she and Dave will talk to Fernanda when she gets better and everything will be fine, but Marta makes it clear that she thinks Fernanda is in the hospital because of Luci.

People give Susan and Mig funny looks as they pass them on the street. Susan is getting nervous. Mig lets Susan bail and decides to give Carito another chance.

Luci tells Marta that leaving David is no way to solve their problems. That will just cause more pain. "It seems that I don't matter to you," Luci says. "This is all about Fernanda. I need you to be more understanding with me. All I want of you as my mother is to hug me and console me instead of losing the love of my life."

Mark complains to Juan: "You're not my dad, I don't have to come when you call." He says that Carito deserves to die. Juan urges him not to do anything stupid. Mark replies, "If you're doing this because of Perla, just give me my money and then we can end this."

La Piloto #3 3-9-2017: With More Lives Than A Herd Of Cats

[My apologies, but I am living the recapper’s nightmare with only a poor quality video, bad audio, machine gun Spanish, and no CC’s. On Demand and Hulu+ are a bit behind.  But who’s complaining? –ed.]

(And this is just in the first ten minutes.....)

Viewerville is at the edge of their seats as Yolanda, John, and Zulima take an unexpected air born detour to the creek bed hundreds of feet below in the red bug. Dave/Arturo and Monica look on in horror.  Dave thinks on his feet and immediately grabs a rope; he then heads down the branch-filled  cliff side.  Suddenly there’s an explosion.  More horror as we learn Dave’s knocked cold—but only momentarily.  He heads back down and another policeman comes down with a fire extinguisher.  They see all have escaped into the deep-forested hillsides.
